"Time once again for to be has to go on hiatus. You've got a couple of months on your own to explore the night sky, but before we say goodbye. We'd like to make a few suggestions. And I think it's important that we are going to have a totally northern hemisphere. Perspective here. Sorry. We're sorry, but we. We live in the northern summer. Is the Warburg time in our minds? July August that's when the heat arrives for the folks in Australia These Zealand. South Africa South America, we understand that these recommendations will not be quite as relevant, but we'll try to make the change what things you can enjoy as well. Nights with your longer nights. Yeah, many of the objects you see the same fix, but it's just it's colder. It's not it's not. It's not as fun to go outside and hang out. What can people see this summer? I think the most important thing to go out and try, and do is just observe our milky. Way Find Yourself a Hammock Alon Chair someway to dislike back and relax. Use Your binoculars borrow someone else's binoculars if you don't have any. And just explore that band of light that goes through. Is the summer triangle, which is AL, Tair Vega and the NAB. Really will help you find well. One of the cooler regions. Angle. Well we have the Ring Nebula not too far away from Vega. cygnus is home of Algeria which is one of the coolest double stars in the sky with one extremely red. Star in one extremely blue star that become visible with. Maser. Just just explore as starting point make no plans sub to figure out where the Milky Way is and just scandal lawn along looking for faint fuzzies, and and this is. For, you I'm not sure how good of a Milky Way view. You have there. I have a very good view to the sky, but I still it's worth heading out of town. To get away from the light pollution to get to those truly dark skies, and I know for a lot of people you look at the dark sky maps for the folks on the East Coast and it's it's a nightmare. You you will have to go, but but this is the kind of event that that if you have not experienced the milky, way with your own eyes or If you have not. And, you're looking for something to do this summer, it's a perfect. Like socially distanced activity, because you can take your family hop in the car plan and evening where you drive out. Maybe you're going to take a couple of hours, but anywhere on the east coast. You can get to dark skies within a couple of hours even from the core of New York City. If you're able to to drive this, some forest that are. A couple of hours away where you can see the Milky Way, no problem and just go. Plan a night of it. Leave a little late. Let people sleep in the car. While you drive out there and so you can arrive at like. In the evening. And Get a beautiful view of of the night sky, or set up early and then everyone pass out, and then have an alarm clock go off at like one of the morning and get everybody up to be able to see it. But. You should do this and it's. There's no reason not to camping is somewhat safe. Yeah, yeah, outside away from other people. Yeah, it's it's the restrooms you have to worry about, but campgrounds are open, and some of the primitive campgrounds are about as safe as you can get. Away from everything, except for the raccoons always hang your garbage up freight. Or lead in the car. But. Yeah I think that is great, and so what are the? What are the ways that people can get the most out of the Milky Way? Honestly the best thing that you can do is start out where you know where you are on the sky. This is where using the summer triangle in the extremely bright star Vega as a starting point can be a great way to get yourself oriented. Find that Bright Vega. Use It to figure out where the NAB is Cygnus the swan use it defined tear for Aquilla once. You're oriented. Stick your Benach in the middle and scan, and every time you find something, faint and Fuzzy. Pause and then either use your phone or finding chart to figure out what amazing Nebula it is. You found this time. This is the cool thing about just. Streaming through. With your binoculars is, you're just GONNA. Keep finding nebulous star cluster nebulous star cluster one after another. Is Is global or star cluster season, so you can see a in Hercules. There's a couple a bunch all scattered around, and because we're seeing them above and below the disk of the milky, way into warmer, able to start seeing the core of the Milky Way. These are all starting to rise up in the sky as well so again, so Milky Way and again. If you have not seen that, knock that off your list. This is your chance this summer time and Sagittarius and the heart of our galaxy is up in the evening for part of the summer, so it's perfectly timed for the family. And and this gives you a chance to say. I am looking at a supermassive black hole right now. You can't see it. It's black hole, but you're looking in the correct direction, and so that's just one of those. Moments of finding your place in the universe of I'm standing here on this planet, looking at the heart of my galaxy, and in that direction there's a supermassive black hole. When I was in Australia in. July so I guess it was around that time, and it was their winter, but it was still very warm, because I was fairly far north. You could see the core of the Milky Way just passing directly overhead, absolutely stunning, and then because where I was, the skies were so dark. You could see those Nebula? Does these little faint? Reddish patches in the sky when you looked with Benach healers, and when you took a picture with your with your camera, you got to see.

This star moving at hyperdrive-speeds was spat out from our black hole

"Of the ticket a style that's being flung out of the Milky Way Galaxy Alexey at a record breaking speed of six million kilometers per hour by the supermassive black hole at the Galactic Centre a report in the monthly notices the Roll Economical Society claims. The unfortunate star was sent on its course through gravitational dads with secretaries ace tax more than five million years ago the style which is now some twenty nine thousand light years from Earth is traveling some ten times faster the most stars in the Milky Way including the son in fact. It's moving so fast. I believe the Milky Way in about one hundred million years never to return one of the study's authors emeritus professor Gary that cost us from the Australian National University. Says is the stars encounter with a black hole occurred at a time when humans were first learning to Walk Upright. He says in astronomical terms star will be leaving galaxy fairly sued and will likely travel through the emptiness of intergalactic space for eternity the Milky Way central supermassive black hole secretaries a star has some four four point three million times the mass of our Sun. It's located some twenty six thousand light years away in the direction of the Constellation secretaries authors discovered discovered this hapless style while using the three point nine meter anglo-australian telescope at the siding Spring Observatory to search for the shorted remains of small galaxies orbiting. The Milky Way is part of the southern Stella Stream Spectroscopy survey follow up observations within made with the A and US two point three minute telescope confirming the stars. Extreme speed did the customer and colleagues then trace the Star's journey back to its point of origin in the Galactic Center. It's this must have originally been in a binary system with a companion star and this system ventured too close to the black hole secretaries ace ta which then captured one of the Stars Too Close Orbit or sling shutting the other one out of the system custom and very high speed. DACOSTA says it's great to be able to confirm thirty or prediction. That stars really can be flying out of a galaxy by the supermassive black hole at the Galactic Center. I'm part of it. The national team that is using the anglo-australian telescope to get philosophies and abundances for stars in stellar streams the stuff streams Remnants of small galaxies have been ripped apart as they fall into is advertised on potential and by studying them we can learn about the distribution of doc mattering our galaxy for example but for every field. We don't necessarily have a complete set of targets for the thought so we used the other spare fathers to look at potentially other stars of interest and we found this stuff. That's has a velocity moving away from us as over a thousand cuomo specific and that was very unexpected and exciting discovery. Picked your interest in other words very much so Particularly the stars brought enough that the European Guy Satellite Commissioner a very accurate promotion. The motion in the plight of the sky is distinct from emotional life on us when we combine that with the observed. A lot of thoughts. Lusty you can trace Ashley Orbit back in time. And the orbit. Effect Exactly intersects with the center of the Galaxy. So we're very sure that this does being flung long out of the standard of the galaxy matches a prediction for a long time. Now that's been massive. Black Holes will blackouts. Generally I guess under the right circumstances weren't gobble Lapa Adventures too close but will in fact fling it out. That's right. There was a piper written first by Jack Hills in not an idea actually before four the Central Collin Galaxy was really well established in which he predicted it. If a binary star got too close to the central by call one of the stars would be absorbed in towards the blackhall. The other one would get a lot of energy be flung out of the center of the Galaxy and bicycling escape from galaxy completely. And that's what we're saying here. This really is the the first time that we've been definitively established that this high-velocity star doesn't affect have its origin at the center of the Galaxy. What do you know about this star? Well we know that it's Relatively young it's about two and a half times the mess of some. It's likely to be quite rich in chemical elements because the Santa Pod Aug- Aleksey is where the overall about this is about effective two times higher than it is in the local neighborhood so it's caught rich but With a massive about two and a half times orange the lofty that is traveling at its guide to escape from the Galaxy and hit off into it elected spice which is a very empty place. What does one cool is star in integrated space? I know if we have a planet outside our solar system. It's a rogue planet but what what is it aerobic style. I guess you'd call. It is a collective star. The the volume of spice outside of galaxies is very very empty. So you know you have a very small population of stars walk. These escaped from galaxies and and They'd be very hard to find. It's not the first high-speed contended that has been detected that appears to be living galaxy. Isn't no that's right nine for some Almost addicted I guess that there are these high-velocity stars that appear to be skyping galaxy in fraction of which appear to be coming from the center of the Galaxy. But this is the very first one where we've got precise enough to seminar of the top of the star to absolutely verify that it's coming from the center of the Galaxy hasn't been given head log number yet or a name. It has the rather prosaic name S. five because as five is the Stream survey project we're involved with And then it's it should be s one high-velocity star number one. I guess with the expectation that we might find more to me about the survey that you guys have been doing. This is really exciting. Isn't it looking at. The shredded remains a small galaxies opening the Milky Way. That's right It's actually a very good example of international collaboration. There's a team in the US that uses what's called the doc energy like camera on the former telescope in Chile. But let's you image lodge areas in the sky and they've infect done quite deep suv. I of the Southern Hemisphere Scott and in that imaging serve I I discovered of order a dozen of these streams where we believe these a AH small galaxies. That have been disrupted but you need to take spectroscopy of the stock is to get the philosophies in the abundances and the anglo-australian telescope with its two degree field spectograph spectograph lets you observe up to four hundred dollars at a time and that is a unique facility in terms of its field of view. A numbers fathers in the astronomical world so the US imaging imaging people have collaborated with star stone of his experts in fava spectroscopy to measure that. He's sort of these streams and You know serendipity can sometimes what can you fight or wait. Found this This particular stop by studying these still streams. This must be telling you a lot about the origins of the Milky Way Galaxy itself and how it's grown over Giga Giga us. Yes you're exactly right The the standard Theory of how the Milky Way is come into existence as had lots of galaxies Small galaxies full in get disrupted and then contribute. This does to the highlands of the disk of the galaxy in that process. We can try and map out. What the distribution of mass in our galaxy is by understanding the orbits of these streams in the galaxy get disrupted some of the stars get energy energy and move ahead than some of the stars lose energy in full behind? That's probably the other way around And so you. The whole thing gets strung out as a string of beat effectively and by studying the motions of streams we can actually see things like the influence of the lodge measuring like cloud as it comes by our galaxy. It's extra gravity. It disturbs the orbits of streams. and Are we seeing a lot of stuff from secretaries to office will run the other side that well it's been gobbled up. Now's well isn't it. That's that's right. I mean. The Sagittarius Stream was the first example of this Process with off. Galaxies falling in and being disrupted I guess it's Probably twenty. He's ago I guess it was in twenty five years since it was discovered and that is the archetypal example. The core of the galaxy is near the center of a Galaxy Galaxy. There's a stream of stars advice that goes across the hall. Scott now Sagittarius is was originally much more massive system than the small systems. That are just being disrupted the streams of West studying but it does just show that this process goes on Sagittarius. What in fact its own set of costs that guide to be added to the Hanover? The galaxy wants to sides of terrorists. System is completely disrupted with globular clusters. Can you tell the difference between a glove class. Sta and the center of a shredded galaxy. See that's very good question There are a few Gobert. COST IS GONNA cost is have constant abundance of elements it's like on and calcium Others but there are a few classes like a Centauri which is readily visible in the summer sky where there was a big range inch in the chemical elements like Nelson on from star to star. And it's certainly been suggested that Those cover costs as well. You see a heavy element abundance range by well obtained the former nucleus off galaxies. Pain disrupted our listeners are way normally globular cluster. oster is a tight ball of thousands if not millions of stars which originally formed together at the same time in the same molecular gas and dust cloud but when you see globular clusters crossed with stars of very different MILICIA's very different compositions. That's the telltale sign you're talking about. Exactly yes yes. In fact we have an example inside serious various the The there's a classical m fifty four which is a very luminous go cost which is right at the center secretaries and in fact does have a Ryan the elephants. So that's almost smoking guns or the Saudi.

Anne Ortelee's November 10, 2019 Weekly Weather

"Welcome to or at least weekly weather. My name is an early. It's a little bit of lake broadcast tonight because it's been a very busy weekend here in the beautiful city of New York We have a lot going on in the sky. We have lot going on in our lives. It's kind of part of the deal right now with everything kinda running a little wild up there One of the things to kind of look at is kind of the news. You're GONNA get that. Might be a little surprising shocking. Or Wow. I didn't know that was going to happen Mercury is Kazimi Azimi the son and of course mercury is going retrograde now. Kazimi is an interesting placement because it doesn't It it's when the sun is is so close to mercury mercury so close to the sun that you It's like when you put your finger in a candle and it doesn't get burned versus when you hold it over the flame top and it gets burned so mercury Kazimi has that quality it's incredibly bedded in the heart of the Sun. That's going to happen tomorrow. But we're in orbit now so mercury is GonNa pass is also at the same declaration as the sun so we're going to have kind of a cool thing tomorrow well In Watch your NASA you know if you're on the Internet looking at NASA stuff you'll see that it's there's very intense energy. And you'll see mercury mercury kind of passing across the face of the sun for a period of about five hours tomorrow Obviously you're not supposed to look at the sun so look at pictures from NASA so but it's the energy of the planet and so the Sun and Mercury at the same declamation. This doesn't happen that often and somebody pointed out. I was doing weekend workshop this weekend. Somebody pointed out is eleven eleven so it's eleven eleven portal which is of course the big Portal for master master numbers and it also is Because of the Kazimi Energy it's very very intense so our job with his intensity as we're running through we're gonna hear really interesting news. Correct make really interesting commitments. It's a great day to commit to things Part of the issue with it though is because mercury is retrograde in Scorpio. Oh you WanNa make sure you commit to positive you know. WanNa say gee my life shitty you know. I have a horrible life. Oh it's terrible you want to kind of go okay. Let's let's do the positive vision. Let's do where we're sending the energy what we're creating is we're heading out make it be It may be a positive energy. You're sending off into the heavens as we work with this energy tomorrow and of course Mercury Comm combust. The Sun is very intense very passionate but it's also so tight it's accelerated and it's amplified and it's augmented so it's super duper super duper mercury son conjunction of course. It is retrograde in Scorpio. So so we're GONNA look back at things and maybe have realizations or a moment so in my life. It's been kind of a busy Busy Week but this weekend particularly I had scheduled the east our certification so we had twenty one lovely people show up and Richard SMOOT and and Vicki his wife Vicky smooth pelt smoke and I conducted the The COP consulting skills for two and a half days twenty hours and had a wonderful group of astrologers hanging out and talking and learning and doing their listening skills and their can't start reading skills. It was a really cool weekend. It was a great deal of fun and then on on Saturday night. Two of my favorite Client slash students slash. I Dunno they become like you know. I feel like they're family on some level both Got Married And they one of them well they actually got married about a month apart. They were like besties and they went to law school together. And so Theresa eloped with her beloved Stephen to the top of a mountain in Sedona Vortex and got married on vortex with a minister and a photographer and Jodi met her beloved Thomas or Tad as he is known to his family and they had a really beautiful wedding at this really gorgeous just cathedral here in New York. Saint Ignatius Loyola and then reception at the Harvard Club. That was probably one of the best bands I've ever danced it at a wedding leading and it was an Italian wedding. And so you know with the Italian weddings you get up and you dance between the courses and then you sit down and I met Jodi and Theresa test is is she's called when they were They were starting to study astrology. They'd come for reading and then started being interested in it and And off we went so now here we are quite a number of years later and they both got married within a month of each other. So it's Kinda cool So that I had a great time I'm at the wedding and then you know we did this consulting skills for twenty hours so I just got to know a bunch of wonderful. twenty-one new wonderful astrologers some of them I knew of course but a lot of ones in from out of town and then I came home tonight after dinner in kind of debriefing with Vicky and Richard because we talked about stuff to who had gotten an e mail or voice message from my neighbor and my neighbor down the hall died And she was coming home Saturday night and she just dropped dead it on the street on First Avenue and that's it So you don't know how you don't know what's going to happen. It's like you know the the intensity of this processing for twenty hours with twenty one people you know. emoting and learning and working on their empathy and the reflection. And they're paraphrasing or freezing and they're they're listening skills and then this party down. You know Dan everybody dance now and then my neighbor dropping dead who. I've lived next door to over forty years Kind of a wild one you know so mercury Kazimi expect really. Intense action has a very intense right. Now just look at the politics you know whenever anybody goes. Why don't you talk about politics? I'm like because that is the outer manifestation Asian of what the world is we've had all these people get caught mark. Gastineau just came out announcing he had been raped as a kid From eleven to fourteen. You know he's like one of the bigger football guys in the world You guys younger may not no one. But he's the one that started making the dancing in the end zone. He's the one that did that. And they used to think it was bad sportsmanship. But that little gay touchdown thing that we take for granted now he did it and it was considered bad form And we've had a lot of revelations about you know murders coming people catching murderers whereas mercury conjuncture son in Scorpio. A lot of dead people talking or secrets are being revealed. You know there's been a lot of found the body you know figured it out finally arrested the person who did it. News and the email l. and that's where that's coming from you know with mercury retrograde in Scorpio on the sun there's a breakthrough in cold cases. And I remember a while back I was talking talking to a cop in Nebraska. And he said You know I've noticed and he kind of basically you know told me it was Saturn. He noticed the Saturn and he knew when one of the cold cases unsolved that all the others would solve to write and Saturday employer were wrapping up the last thirty six years. So they're trying to get the stuff out the door and off the books and and process it and get it out there so people can move onto the next chapter so it's a really intense week ahead so I don't want to minimize how intense. It's going to be but also we're going to have a full moon In tourists and Scorpio. And that's a very fits very fertile moon and that's GonNa take place on choose day and of course when we have a full moon one of the things that we're we're working with is the energy of abundance in how it kind of Heads across the sky so the full moon is On Tuesday at eight thirty four in the morning and the sun is that Nineteen Scorpio and moon is at Nineteen Scorpio so this hearkens back to The energy of if The tourist time which is around a May twelfth of two thousand eighteen and then two around August twelfth of last of this year twenty nineteen when it was an Aquarius and now we have the full moon and we really see the full moon energy of this enter this energy kind of moving forward so it's a big. It's a big one. We also have on this full moon Venus approaching a square to Neptune. So it's kind of unexpected things happening or taking place and then we also have Jupiter and series meeting near to the south node but also in the first house kind of revealing stuff and then Juno at the top at the chart is in the sign of partners with a lot of energy about Sending stuff off into the into the difference into the distance so so knowing that we have a slow moon moving very slowly Across the across the sky well we have this Kazimi mercury so google it. There's it's a really good cool article on the Times in The New York Times with a picture of it going across. I posted it on facebook and they send it out on twitter so you can also I see it there but it's a it's a pretty intense one and Stuff's coming to light. You're seeing secrets. You're learning stuff you're processing you're releasing you're letting go your full mooning thing and then of course the moon then Wayne's down to the new moon in two weeks when the new moon takes place on November twenty six the Tuesday before Thanksgiving living and that one will be in the new of course in sage and that's going to be at four Sagittarius so there's a lot of energy in the sky about releases is letting go moving on the truth being told and learning stuff right because it's just really volatile heavens right now so we're learning all sorts of things you wanna pay attention to what you're learning it's important and it will really shape your future As you as you kind of settle into the knowledge and the wisdom list of what's coming in

'There Are 5 Elections in November and 3 of These Are Great Jupiter Elections.'

"There are five elections for November and three of these are excellent Jupiter elections. This is especially important because November is the last month that that Jupiter is in his domicile until twenty twenty two. So it's really our last chance to grab excellent talismanic opportunities for creation of wealth. Good fortune growth of personal virtues such as justice and wisdom. We also have a fixed. Start Housman for Alpha Kappa who provides friendship and elevation through friends and there's also a twelfth house Lunar Mansion which is for improvement of harvest and plans and also empowerment of those who support us or need our help this issue as do do all issues feature is a magical lesson and this month. The lesson is about planetary days in hours. This is a wonderful way to time your elections without being very advanced in in your astrological elections skills. But it's quite powerful. I have spoken about it before on this podcast and we are working on it in my magical elections classic couple right now. The students have really connected with it doing weekly planetary rituals based on the day and hour of the planets. The other big news in this magical election issue is the introduction of the new section called discarded elections it features upcoming elections that may look good but actually contain significant problems. It can serve you in two always one. If you want a double check on your own elections that you have found and two if you want to check up on the charts of premade talismans. You're thinking of buying. It goes without saying that if you are buying astrological Talisman there should always be an astrological chart available and you should check it before buying just because it's for sale doesn't mean it's good or helpful or won't cause you problems so always check the chart of a premade Talisman and the section is one way that you can do that you you can always have an astrological magician. Check the chart of your planned purchase. And it's worthwhile making that small investment before you spend a lot of money on a talisman especially expensive offensive jewelry talismans. The free election for October is the Housman that will use Jupiter and he is of course in one of his novels Sagittarius. This election is for November. Twenty Third Twenty nineteen one thirteen pm to one forty three. PM set for Los Angeles California and wherever you are in the world so you will want to get eighteen degrees Sagittarius on the ascendant in your location for the beginning of the election but keep an eye on the moon which should be applying textile L. Venus the incense using your ritual according to the traditional sources will be you can have saffron sandalwood. Musk Camphor Mace the image is a handsome man sitting on an eagle. But as I always say if you have a strong command of planetary symbolism you can always create your own image composed of Jupiter her symbols that resonates with you and your goals emotionally whichever image you choose. This is the image. You'd want to write on or engrave on your talisman. This image is very important because through the eyes enters your being an act on the Seoul. This month's election will work for a paper Talisman or a verbal petition or a prayer there are better Jupiter elections in November that are included in this issue of magically elections. But I wanted to discuss this one because I think while it's good would there are some caveats that may not make it as strong as we would want and that would not make it worthwhile for a metal or stone talisman which of course lasts a very long longtime so the medal of Jupiter just for future references tin. There's also a yellow Sapphire amethyst but the really important important part of this election that I wanted to highlight is Venus Jupiter conjunction on the Mid Heaven and the Moon is on the blessed star Speaker which is applying dissect style Venus and and then Jupiter after that the one downside of this election which made me recommended only for a paper. Talisman is that the moon does not have very much light she is waning and has only a little light left. Normally a waning moon by itself isn't a problem. But this time if you have just a little sliver of a crescent like here it is a problem so I would not commit this election to anything really permanent like a stone or metal as always the spirits to evoke are the angels of Jupiter's hitters at Kia or his intelligence Yo feel and his spirit his smile his colors that you can incorporate in the Tasman or in the room or both are going to be see blue sea green and purple and as always I welcome your feedback if you do make this talisman all right now. It's time I'm from my conversation with Ryan Butler about what types of magic are safe and unsafe. which should be especially helpful for beginners? Who I feel a little bit anxious or uncertain about about where to start with astrological magic and don't want to accidentally curse themselves here? We go one of the things that the main thing will really focus goes on today with Ryan is. We'll talk about safe planetary magic or safe astrological magic. I should say and maybe we'll talk about some unsafe Ask logical magic as well because that's always fun but I know that's a big concern for beginners. You know what's safe what isn't I mean. Magic certainly can be kind of scary and it gets a lot of SORTA very dramatic representations in media so. I figured this was a good opportunity to pick somebody else's brain who has a lot of experience experience with doing astrological magic both the safe and possibly the unsaved and share experiences with you. All Right Ryan. So what would you say is a is a good safe practice or maybe even before that. What do we consider safe versus unsafe magic? Do you have a personal definition turnover. Yeah and I think that's something that Kind of changes or varies from person to person and I think a lot of it has to do with how risk averse somebody is So like you're not just in in magic but even in my you know regular regular everyday life or even in like investing is just like how much risk are you willing to take any any time you as like an astrological magician especially Alexa for Talisman or petitioner anything like that year assessing risk risk basically As as super funding fabulous as the sounds But you're assessing risk of not only of canvas election support. What is I'm trying to I do but also how likely is it that the you know that that the reverse will happen or some unforseen consequence So a lot of it is just how. How risky do you want to be in that something? That's going to differ from person to person based on you know temperament earth analogy but he's also like a amount on of responsibility. One has if you are apparent your your risk aversion is probably gonNA be higher than somebody who doesn't have dependents. It's or something like that like something or somebody that whatever you're doing could realistically also affect because they're insane household or something like that. I'm so for me me. I'm not a parent but I am a parent and so just like that is usually the end. It sounds kind of silly. I guess but usually what I run my stuff by is just like okay. How likely is this thing going to be able to? You know effect or you know hurt or just whatever Otherwise touch upon Mike. Pets is usually the way that is usually kinda like my first methods so like Sixth House House stuff in charts. I'd pay kind of special attention to just because that's my living situation or less. So can I ask a personal question Ryan. Yes if there's a sixth house versus seven thousand fiction which wants who gets yes swelled so to answer that question probably the seventh house because the seventh house could tell me something's wrong. Yes theoretically theoretically. That's right. He has the power to communicate rates yet. Investigate all right well. Now that we know everything about Ryan I think that's actually a great dive into this situation and a really practical way end because I think it's important to remember especially as beginner is there is no perfect chart right and there are certainly better choice than others. But no chart is going to be completely -pletely one hundred percent problem free. Would you say that's True Ryan. I think that's fair. The worst you can remain the best you can do is minimize those. There's certainly a lot of minimisation you can do. especially if you have a little bit of time to play with like you don't need an election right now but just recognize that there will be some issues with any tart and the the question is is going to impact some house and some planet and so the question is what houses in your life are better able to take that strain versus assist those that are more vulnerable and accurately points toward the fact that. Yeah if you have pets. There's they're probably can't really control their fate the way that the person could right so that's certainly one calculus that you could do but obviously it's going to be very individual and personal so you have to think about what in your life again is better able to withstand planetary issues even if they're hopefully minor but just recognized that they will have to go somewhere and and It doesn't mean that every talisman will bring you problems not by a long shot but again just recognize that again as Ryan said there is so amount of risk in your sort of assessing thing where you want to allocate that in your life

Is Astrology Antithetical to Christianity?

"College became so popular in the ancient oral and everybody believed that astrology for the most part but he believed or the majority of people believe that astrology was legitimate phenomenon and they also there was a heavy belief in astrology was very intertwined with the concept of fate and predates termination and the idea that astrology would tell you something about your fate and about your future and in some versions of astrology it was much more deter monistic than it is today in the late twentieth early twenty first centuries that things were viewed as much more deterministic or much more fixed when you're looking at your life through the lens of astrology and I feel like that's maybe true to some extent of traditional astrology as well would you say that's like an accurate statement or may be overstating the point I think they would overstate astrology of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance I certainly from my research and reading and in that period read it seems like there is a sense that the charts especially in in terms of charts of questions but also in nativities as well it it was essentially presentation of the path of Least Resistance if you do not do anything these are what your predictions are this is what could happen if you don't any if you don't make any effort to avert a possible disaster but that again that depends based on the particular right her as far as how much of a hardline determinist they're going to be which actually gets really interesting when you get into the Protestant reformation the sixth at the sixteenth century where there is a growing rift between stripes of protestantism with John Calvin and his successors is going very hard in the line of determinism while at the same time repudiating astrology and you have Martin Luther and his right hand man Philip Malang Ben who was an astrologer arguing much more in the direction of more autonomy more free will more synergistic participation with in the in the salvation project so that becomes a really tangled line of inquiry that's not quite so easy to suss out as much as we would probably get to be at least At least the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries by that point in history sure definitely an even in the hellenistic tradition there were certainly practice says like election astrology or you've even applications of Magic to astrology which sought to make things less deterministic or more negotiable in that goes back probably to the mess Petitjean tradition even with the existence of like perpetuation rituals and the idea that there were things you could do to eight or avert your fate or what have you so that certainly existed but at least in the early hellenistic tradition it was also coming out of the backdrop of stoicism being a very popular philosophy from the third century BC to the first few centuries C E and that was like a a cosmological view in which everything in the world everything that would happen in your life was predetermined to happen you know at the very least from the moment of birth there were certainly some astrologers who held like hardliner extreme stoic views like Manila's examples one of the most famous or to a lesser extent invidious Valentine's and others like that so that certainly and that was like my main way of approaching this is just realizing that there was a deterministic a fully deterministic approach to astrology in the Hellenistic period around the time that Christianity arose and that that may have interacted in interesting in sort of weird ways that we don't realize today because astrology is so just not deterministic at this point in time right I think that determinism of any form has become extremely unpopular justin in general culture which you know has has certain ramifications I think the way that we practice astrology today as people whose practices are informed more by classical philosophy by the philosophy entity in the techniques that urged from that philosophical that philosophical period within history so it's certainly something that those of us who are adjacent to the traditional revival the revival of traditional astrology in the West should maybe spend a little bit of time thinking about closely and I'm sure that this is something that most people coming into this strategy at least spend you know thirty minutes on on a lonely night thinking about at least I would hope so thinking about what specifically thinking about the the fuel level of determinism that is baked into strategy. Yeah I mean that 'cause that's always been one of my contention is that NATO astrology the basic premise of natal astrology to some extent is deterministic because in the premises that the alignment of the planets and other slush bodies is at the moment of your birth have something to say about the nature in the course of your life put it like at the most simple basic definition that's always been my basic initiative natal astrology which I don't think anybody would argue but that definition of itself almost as imply that there's something perhaps about your future that might be you might have a preview of at the very least from looking at birth chart rent. Yeah Yeah Yeah the way that I've come to talk about this and I think of chart almost like a piece of sheet music right you give a prelude to three different pianists and they'll all play the same notes in the same rhythms but they'll each have a very different interpretation of the peace and it will sound different and have different and feel based entirely upon the situation the context in which that piece of music is played so you give one to adjust the pianist and you'll get that version you give another to classical pianist you'll get that version you know I think it's very similar with nativities you give one person in a tizzy that has Jupiter in the ten thousand Sagittarius and they become a Hindu Rishi in the that they grow up in India and that's their path but you give that same chart to somebody who grows up in Italy they turned into the pope right it's not the same fate but it is kind of the same theme its variations on similar themes at least that's where I've landed on this one Sure Yeah I mean does that because I think that was so would I noticed in my studies of ancient astrology in ancient philosophies religions was that that seemed to be one of the main points of dispute between astrology and Christianity at least in the ancient world was the issue fate in the issues Predetermination because the logically the idea of of having a free will of sore was really important in Christianity for D aren't reasons right why why is that theologically well it depends on the theological stripe your coming from in some stripes of reform armed with the ideology humans do not have any say whatsoever and whether they're actually saved or not free will is an illusion and this would be the heart health and him exactly a hardline calvinism suggests that God has already decided who will be saved and who will not be saved and there's nothing you can do about it right but that's sort of like a sort of weird but let's say a not common view in terms of Christian theology. and it's not a common view in terms of Christian theology but it is a view that does become significant in the development of late renaissance astrology especially in England because William Lee of course when he's writing he's very involved in the political and religious climate of England during the seventeenth entry and the Stripe of Christianity that is in power during that time it skews towards deterministic calvinism oh that is something that I think enters the picture at a certain point but I don't think it's the majority opinion of of historic Chris Janati for sure historically Christianity has made a strong case that an individual needs to be able to participate with God in their salvation vis-a-vis the exercise of free will choosing to choosing God whatever that means don't get too into specifics or into the weeds here but yeah that exercise of free will is important I think in the classical Christian articulation of how Salvation Works and what the mechanism is but I don't think that it's I'm not quite ready to say that that in and of itself precludes there being some kind of external influence upon bring them to a point where they have the opportunity to exercise that free will

"sagittarius" Discussed on Stuff To Blow Your Mind

"It's time to talk about how our own galaxy supermassive black hole Sagittarius a star has been showing some weird and mysterious behavior lately just just in the past few two years or this year yeah that's right NASA. Chandra x Ray Observatory is observed a mysterious daily flares from Sagittarius Star and it leads us to wonder what's going on yeah so one theory is that the dust cloud around it contains comets and asteroids stripped away from other stars and then when collisions occur sometimes since one off into Sagittarius a star and according to a NASA report from two thousand twelve quote. If the asteroid passes within about one hundred million miles house of the black hole roughly the distance between the earth and the sun it would be torn to pieces by the tidal forces from the black hole so basically you know you just ripping apart a huge chunk of metal orrock in space right and this produces a flare the asteroid than the pieces of consumed by the black hole comments have been observed to impact our son with almost identical frequency and with a resulting flare you can even get a really cool flare in astronomy just looking like Jupiter. Have you seen some of these when like a comet goes into Toyota yeah amazing now there have been other recent observations of of big flare ups right yeah in May twenty nine Tina Tina sizable flair was was observed a team using the Keck ten meter telescope and this was in the near infrared range. They're also variable blasts from Sagittarius say star in other frequencies like the x Ray Range this was the brightest flare we've ever observed in the infrared or near infrared in fact according to the UCLA astronomer number twenty doe who was the lead researcher on these these laced elitist radiation bursts our our telescopes only caught the tail end of the flare. It was probably much brighter right before we started looking at it yeah as a Phil plait reported in bad astronomy. The flair was well over two thousand times more luminous than the sun one in the infrared right but yeah in furthermore this scientists judge to be basically a one in two thousand currents compared to to pass observed fluctuations situations right so it's probably not just a random fluctuation in the brightness of the radio source there it is it is a an event right so this led researchers I just think it might be tied to a star known as s to which regularly makes a super close pass by the supermassive black hole super close in astronomical astronomical terms right but in doing so he drags a kind of wind of particles with it yeah well I think the star puts out a stellar win. The I just like our son does yeah and but then they're in their particles within that wind yeah and so it it could be that wind particles is crashing into the black hole they considered this but they decided well I don't think this would be a strong enough a thing to actually make that flare so another possibility though is that S. two's pass disturbed clouds of gas and caused them to fall into the black hole. It's also possible that an unknown object known as g to on a two hundred sixty year orbit around the black hole might have caused a such a you know an area of gas to fall into it. you know the move close enough in fact in move close enough that if gee to itself were a dust cloud as some have thought it might be you would have just fallen in but we don't know for sure exactly what g two is right thought it was maybe gas sir dust but it didn't behave like that when it went by the supermassive black hole right there's at least one idea that he could be a star there could be a star in the middle of a of a cloud of of of gas and particles etcetera and the or it could be two stars it merged due to their proximity to the black hole and then below at the end up blowing off dust in the process okay so if there's a star within it that would explain like gravity holding it sort of together goes by the black hole. Yeah there's something in strong inside it. or the flare could just be due to an asteroid or comet stripped away from a star system falling into the black hole. That's that's always a possibility this disgust as well. You know one of the sad things about trying to look at the center of the Galaxy is that sometimes the son gets in the way like our viewing window is limited because the sun passes between the earth and Sagittarius said you know a certain time each year also along the same lines of mysteries dealing with Sagittarius say star. I was reading an article from just a couple of days ago about weird observations observations regarding what are called Fermi bubbles and Secretary Assay Star. This was on space dot com authored by the Ohio State astrophysicist Paul M Sutter her so okay what you've got here are two giant bubbles of stuff including hot gas and cosmic rays in their glomming onto the middle all of the galaxy of the Milky Way Galaxy and we can see these bubbles are emitting high frequency radiation like gamma rays x rays there were discovered in two thousand listen ten by researchers working with the Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope and they extend out vertically from the flat access of the galaxy to a distance of roughly twenty five thousand light years in each direction so if trying to picture this and you're picturing the disk of the galaxy is a vinyl record imagine a balloon loon tied to the middle of the record like the whole in the middle of the record on each side and this will give you an idea so these huge blobs of stuff or referred to his Fermi armie bubbles but what are they and how do they get there. An interesting development is that more recently the Ice Cube Neutrino Observatory in in Antarctica Ika has observed high energy neutrinos blasting directly from these bubbles indicating that perhaps in in sutter's words quote some crazy Subatomic interactions are afoot. He writes the position of these bubbles right above and below the center of the galaxy could point to their origin and that would be the supermassive massive black hole of course Sagittarius Star now like what could have happened. That's not really known. He supposes maybe millions of years ago something significant. NFL into the black hole quote with the in falling material heating up twisting around in a complicated dance of electric magnetic forces in managing to escape the clutches of the event horizon before falling in that material energized beyond belief raced away from the center of the Galaxy Riding on jets of particles accelerated elevated to nearly as speed of light as they fled to safety these particles spread in thinned-out but maintained the their energetic state to the present day so maybe maybe we've got these gigantic almost galaxy sized bubbles reaching out of the top and bottom and the Milky Way that it looks very possibly like something fell. Laura almost fell into the black hole and created the show so possibly a star got too close was torn apart and ejected by the gravitational forces or maybe many of the stars in the dense core of the galaxy all went supernova around the same time this created this highly energetic stuff to get ejected out in these these polar alert jets from the black hole but anyway it created these bubbles that are full of all this high energy stuff that still objecting neutrinos today and you know that's exactly the kind and of thing that would interest be very interesting to type to civilization. We're type three yeah well. I guess at this point we've we've come to the end the episode come to the end of this this to episode exploration of secretaries a star and supermassive black holes in general but obviously we love to hear from everybody out there. you know obviously nobody has personal experience the supermassive black hole but we would love we I. I'm always happy to hear from you know. Some of our listeners are have have read a quite a lot of science fiction and they've read science fiction that I have not read and you haven't even read so. "WanNa talk about they. nerdy engineer born in Oklahoma whose middle name is guth. Oh goose I mean that's that's an excellent nerd middle name okay so I'm GonNa talk about Karl Guth Jansky who was born in Norman Oklahoma in nineteen o five one of six children in his family and Jetskis. Dad's zero was an electrical engineering professor and so little Karl Jansky when he grew up he followed in his father's trajectory to study physics engineering as well also as a young man Karl. Jansky earned a degree in physics from the University of Wisconsin. It got his undergraduate degree but then failed to complete his masters but then anyway he went went on to get hired by a company was hired for a position as a radio engineer with Bell Telephone Laboratories in nineteen twenty eight and this would have been when radio engineering was something fairly new so at this time in the late nineteen twenty s bell labs was interested in creating a system for a wireless radio based telephone service that would allow transatlantic phone calls. Let's just say you needed to call across the Atlantic Ocean to order a begetter something these radio based phone calls that bell labs wanted to do would have been in the shortwave frequency range meaning wavelengths of about ten to twenty meters and Jansky was given the job job of hunting down any potential sources of radio interference that would cause static on the calls so Jansky built a giant receiver antenna China to detect signals at a wavelength of fourteen point five meters and this was a directional antenna and that meant that it could be moved around to identify identify the origin vector of any particular signal right so it's not receiving signals from every direction the same you aim it in the direction that you want to pick pick up the signal from and it was mounted on a giant rotating platform outfitted with motorized wheels. Actually they were the wheels from a Model T. and it could be aimed in any direction to root out the sources of static or other interference that they were looking for. Some people called this jetskis. Mary go round. I've got a photo of a here for you Robert Yeah at first glance. It looks not unlike a giant biplane of some kind you know. Oh yeah with the stress on the wings and it looks like the world's most dangerous gymnastics equipment broken shins all around yeah it looks a little bit like scaffolding or the the system of goals and some sort sort of Sushi in sport but in the middle of course it's got wheels and it's got a little track that the wheels roll around on so that you can aim it to to calibrate where the the source of the interference is coming from so first of all he discovered the main source of terrestrial interference on this radio frequency

Understanding Australian Indigenous Astronomy

"Right. This week we focus on the ARCO astronomy of another part of the world, this time from the indigenous people of. Another group of people whose lives depended on knowing what was happening in the sky from season to season are Pamela got a big continent. Here of what is the evidence of archaic astronomy from the continent of Australia. Well, what's kind of cool with a stray Elliot's? It's not so much ARCHE of strana me as it's modern anthropology that allows us to look, Pat back on sixty five thousand years of history with, with the aboriginal tribes of gelia were looking at a couple hundred different language groups. We are looking at a continent that has been peopled for sixty five thousand years, that hasn't undergone the same kinds of destruction that civilizations here in north and South America. Underwent? And so as. As we talk with the people who are there today, we can hear into days oral tradition evidence of Frincis, a meteor impact that was thousands of years ago, a supernova that was thousands of years ago, and we still they still pay attention to these stories. This is still part of how they live their lives and why they do and don't go certain places, and it's, it's really amazing culture, and they look at space in such a different way instead of having four seasons. Many of the different nations of Australia, Mark out six different seasons of the year that are marked out with when different of the constellations rise on the horizon, some constellations Mark out, this is when you should go and gather the eggs, this is when. These animals can be expected to be breeding, the dingoes for instance, it's different. And we've both had the opportunity now to be in Australia. I was there almost a year ago, thanks to Dylan O'Donnell and, and his, his got to speak at his conference star stuff. And then we got Carlin, I went on a road trip north from there into the, the jungle part of stralia north of Brisbane, and it was like the skies. There are just there stunning like it's, it's not surprising that anyone who, who lived there. With out light pollution and saw that sky. And it is, it's a Canadian we have dark skies as well here, and I've seen plenty of Milky Way. But the core of the Milky Way is down by the horizon. We see a little bit of it over the summer when the when we get to see Sagittarius and Scorpio and some of those constellations than the rest of the year. It's, it's, it's fine. It's fine. But, but there it is just right. Overhead it blazes, the planets moved through it, right. Overhead. There's like Ayman, if you have seen dark skies, you have not seen Australian dark skies. They are next level. They absolutely have the best view. The people in the southern hemisphere have the best view. Yes. To the core of the Milky Way that we just can't experience from from the north and like the peoples of South, America, and southern Africa. They include in how. How they Mark out the sky's the dark paths through the Milky Way. There is a tradition of seeing an emus spread out across the Milky Way were the coal shack nebula that super dark patch. I saw. Yeah. Societas once pointed out to you see it. And that that's only one of the stories, another one of the stories that are particularly love related to the Milky Way is they see the Milky Way as a dark river, through the sky. And it's the, the souls of men and women who have passed on to the heavens, that have their fires along that, that river and in some of their traditions when they see a shooting star, that is the soul of someone who died far from home returning. The home. It's cool stories. Yeah, I love I love that idea. What was it? There was a animation that came to a couple of years ago, but anyways idea of putting floating lanterns on like on a river and then letting them go and letting them all float downriver. You get this. They do that in, in Japan and China place like that. But it's, it's a very cool effect. So what are now you mentioned a couple of real big hitters. Supernova. Meteorite impact give me some more information. So, so I think the two really awesome things to come out of aboriginal astronomy is how they look at their crater covered lands, and actually maintain a history of. Yeah, these holes of the ground are actually craters, as, as well as their tradition of supernova. So let's start with the craters Australia is, is one of the oldest landmasses it has thirty confirmed craters that are well-structured. You look at them from an airplane, and you're, like, yes, that is a crater and the thing that really gets me is. They knew that these things in the ground were formed from things falling from the sky. In one case, the hen, very crater about four thousand two hundred years ago, a large nickel iron space rock hit central ustralia. And when it came down about one hundred and forty five kilometers south of siding, springs, it carved out a bunch of individual different craters. And when westerners I started visiting that land, and they had an aboriginal guide with them. The guide was like, no, we don't go there. That is the land that was formed when fire fell from the sky and, and right. They have a modern day tradition of fire fell from the sky. And formed this land, and that's oral tradition. That goes back four thousand two hundred years. There are many other craters across a stray Elliot that that they look at. And the various people know this was a crater here. Wolf creek craters is another one of these that is recognizes having fallen in this case when a star fell from the sky. And there are traditions of people going down in Orrell stories and exploring the sink holes and traveling them to through them to water in a great distant area, and it was a Mark of heroism to travel underground under these craters. And so there, there are clearly stories of when people explored and survived. And now people don't do that. Because. Those heroes did stupid things.

Production of iheartradio. Hey, brain stuff, Lauren Vogel, bomb hair an event. Horizon is the point of no return a spherical region surrounding the gaping maw the black hole beyond which nothing not even light can escape. We have no idea what mysteries lie inside. But we do know that our universe ends abruptly at this. Terrifying. Boundary into the unknown. Now after two decades of international collaboration. Some of the world's most powerful radio telescopes have captured an image of a supermassive black holes event horizon by doing so they proved that the predictions arising from Einstein's theory of general relativity are valid even in the most extreme cosmic environment possible the black hole in the image lurks in the center of the massive elliptical galaxy Messier eighty seven in the constellation Virgo. Some fifty five million light years distant the release of the image was highly anticipated all over the world and published in several studies appearing in the journal astro-physical journal, letters supermassive black holes dictate the evolution of. The galaxies. They inhabit so a direct look at this one's event. Horizon could open a new window of understanding into how these behemoths work. And this monstrous object is quite the specimen has a whopping mass of six point five billion Suns all crammed into an event. Horizon measuring nearly half a light day across despite its incredible size and mass no single telescope on the planet could capture it's portrait. It's simply too far away to resolve to remedy. This Stromer is used a method known as very long baseline interferometry to combine the collective observing power of eight of the world's most powerful radio telescopes to do the job the event. Horizon telescope is a virtual telescope as wide as our planet and powerful enough to capture the first glimpse of one of the most massive black holes known to exist. It took a team of more than two hundred researchers to accomplish this feat. Although black holes are well. Black should there be any matter close to the event? Horizon extreme friction in the relativistic environment will rip electrons from atoms creating a powerful fireworks display? This is why the event horizon telescopes. I image shows a dark circle surrounded by a bright ring of emissions. These emissions are being produced just outside the black holes event horizon or the extremely hot gases orbiting it are heated to several billions of degrees. Kelvin with the event horizon itself appearing as a silhouetted dark disc against a bright background features, the confirm what theoretical physicists could only predict up until now surely dramatic moment for those theorists. This is possibly the most profound outcome of the event. Horizon telescopes observation all the radical predictions for what the event horizon telescope might see are based on the framework of Einstein's general relativity, a theory that has proven robust since its formulation more than one hundred years ago on seeing this first image. Physicist remarked on how precisely the reality of the black holes event horizon matches the predictions of general relativity, and this first image is just that the first the event horizon telescope collaboration will continue observing Messier eighty seven and a second target the supermassive black hole in the center of our galaxy. If four million solar mass object called Sagittarius, a counter-intuitively, although such tears a is comparatively close only twenty five thousand light years away two thousand times close to us than Messier eighty seven. It has a different set of challenges. One problem is that as such Terry's as smaller its emissions vary over shorter timescales than Messier eighty seven's monstrous black hole, making observations more difficult. Also, as we are embedded inside, our galaxy's disk, which contains a lot of interstellar dust the event horizon telescope signal suffers more scattering making it more challenging to resolve. As most of the intergalactic space between us and Messier. Eighty seven is pretty empty scattering is less. Of a problem when we'll see Sagittarius a remains to be seen. But now that the technology behind the event horizon telescope has been proven our understanding of supermassive black holes short to blossom. Yes, Facebook is still tracking you (The 3:59, Ep. 541)

"The. Welcome to the three fifty nine. I'm Ben FOX Ruben I'm offering. So it ends up deactivating Facebook account to stop the social network from tracking. You doesn't work. Alfred you looked into this tell us which found out. Yeah. So I have been deactivating my account every time I logged out of Facebook and set of just you know, closing the window or anything like that. Because I thought that would put a pause on data collection. Anytime I'm not on Facebook turns out that is not true. The only way that Facebook really stops collecting date on you is if you've permanently delete it. Now, a lot of people do need Facebook accounts. Like, I do because I have to sign up for these two workshops every week to get on a college campus. So I have to have my Facebook count. So I thought I'd just reactivated for those two days and come back to it. Always the time. Yup. Facebook was still tracking did nothing so Facebook tracks as if you're still on the social network and their reasoning behind it is they assume that when you deactivate your account means you wanna come back. So they keep all the stuff like they keep tracking you anyway. So like when you come back if you come back all the ads and your newsfeed is still like relevant to you. So let's say I go through a basketball phase all of a sudden when idea after I'd activated my account when I reactivated all my ads would be based on basketball. Now, even though I didn't do that before the activated my account one or the other interesting aspect, so yes, you could delete your entire Facebook account. And that would get rid of a lot of the data that it already has stored on you. But as you mentioned in your story Facebook is so deeply embedded in the internet at this point that it's still tracking people that didn't ever have faced account. So. Yeah. Even if you don't have a Facebook account they track based on your browser. Your browser has certain things that identify. Fai use. It knows what bookmarks like you haven't things like that. You know, your IP address these kind of small fingerprints of your browser, and they can serve you ads based on just like in your browser itself. So even if you're not on Facebook Facebook is serving you ads on other websites aggravate, I think the difference here with these de-activated account is people like have this assumption in their mind. Like, I did that you know. Oh, if it's deactivated. They're probably not tracking me or tying it to my account turns out that is not true. Nope. In more cheery. Facebook news, Facebook and Google reps will be in DC today for a hearing on extremists on their sites. We talked a little bit about this with the podcast yesterday. So I kinda wanna pose a question to you from Facebook's perspective. Is there anything that? You think that they can do to really help them regain trust in the marketplace? I mean, yeah, I I actually do think that this is a problem that they can't Hackel. But they just never put the resources into this is specifically. To like, white nationalist white supremacists. Racists on that have been using Facebook and YouTube to grow in audience, grow massive platform, and you know, people have died because of these kinds of us. I mean, this is all in response to the shooting in New Zealand and people like to quote this to essentially ISIS. I think that's why you know, you described as extremists platforming and. Yeah. Youtube and Facebook have done an excellent job at curbing ISIS from their platforms. And I think a lot of people are arguing that they should give the same treatment to white nationalist. Yeah. Definitely, okay. Let's turn to some slightly funner news about Twitter, which is obviously a bastion of social network, positively. But anyway, Jack Dorsey got paid a dollar forty last year from the company, isn't that cute? I mean, that's what happens when you're a part time CEO like how much square pay him. I don't know. So he. He is a billionaire. He's worth several billion dollars. So don't feel bad for Jack Dorsey now for something completely different. The first images of a black hole will be released tomorrow. The lucky black hole in the photo will be Sagittarius a which sits in the middle of our galaxy. And it will be photographed or was photographed by the event. Horizon telescope and array of radio telescopes positioned all over the earth. That's pretty cool and must think that school, and then you'll be tagged on Facebook and tracked everywhere it goes out. All right fair enough. That's true. If you want to read more about these stories, check them out on CNN. I'm Ben FOX Rueben. I'm Alfred thanks for listening.

Astronomers find black hole ‘which could be spinning space itself’

"In the journalists Toronto and astrophysics show clumps of gas swirling around that about thirty percent spate of light on a circular orbit just outside the black holes event horizon. It's the first time has been observed opening so close to the event horizon the point of no return beyond which material foles forever into the black hole. Singularity the authors use the gravity instrument on the European southern observatory's. Vail, Tae, ovarian large telescope in Chile gravity observed flares of infrared radiation coming from the accretion disk around Sagittarius, a style the flares originate from material opening close to the black holes event horizon making this the most detailed observations ever taken of material opening so close to a black hole. All some matter in the creation disc, the built of gas opening secretaries. A star relatively spades. Can over the black hole safely anything. They gets too close. He's doomed to be pulled beyond the event horizon and ten disappear from our universe relativistic spades. Those were to say great that the effects of Einstein's theory of relativity becomes significant in the case of the accretion disk around secretaries a star the guests. He's moving at roughly thirty percent. The speed of light the gravity instrument combines the live from all four telescopes the veil Tate into a sort of giant optical interferometer to create a virtual super telescope one hundred and thirty meters in amateur earlier this year, gravity and symphonic another instrument on the veil Tate allowed the same team to accurately measure the close fly by of the Starace to as it passed through the extreme gravitational field niche itary say style, there's up survey vacations provided the first direct evidence of the effects predicted by Einstein's general theory of relativity in such an extreme environment during his close fly by strong in for. Red emissions were also observed it was during those ups of Asians, the authors were lucky enough to notice the three bright flares around the black hole. This flare emission is caused by extremely highly energetic electrons originating magnetic interactions in the very hot gas opening close to the black hole. It exactly matches the theoretical predictions for hotspots opening so close to a black hole a full point three million saw mashes. You're listening to
