"Know. Yeah it really does and to dive into some of our real life. Characters you mentioned. Lee harvey oswald. Obviously you've jfk and jackie kennedy. But you have oswald and his wife marina who. It's not that she necessarily knows. Her husband is a pad person she knows. He's not the greatest guy in the world but he's kind of trying and they have their issues which also feels out of place for the time period. Feel really bad for marina in this book. And i knew nothing about her before i started reading. This like didn't even know her name. So i'm not bringing any historical. Wait to my opinion of her but she. She seems more kind of a victim of her times. Then i think even sadie. You know like you don't have that many options other than to get married and have a man rescue you or take care of you. And i think there are. It's like there's a level of chauvinism and misogyny that i think was probably common at the time i say that as a person who is not alive then and then there's other there and then there's oswald who is an asshole on top of that and a narcissist and abusive and i think like you can see a difference between that you know but then again like it what do you do you know if like divorce if you have to move to reno and live there for six weeks and that's how you can get a divorce. You know if you what. What do you do like in the breathing method. I know The woman in that story. And i can't remember her name. She mentioned like pretending that she's a widow because she wouldn't be able to get a job if they knew she was an unwed mother. Right you know. And i think there are just so few options for women at that time that unfortunately It left a lot of women. Stuck with men likely harvey oswald an johnny clayton and i should clarify you know. Marina obviously did not like all of the things that lee harvey oswald did. But i don't think she realized that he was going to go. And try. And shoot the president when i say you know. She didn't think he was. You know that terrible person. Obviously he was terrible to her and we get a lot of that through the lens of george and him just sort of spying on them and then you have another george who comes in and it got a little confusing for. We have different name. Yeah but obviously the the real person. George had to keep his real name. But you know. King should've thought of that before. Having jake take the name george emerson okay and every time they say especially when. I'm listening when they say mr anderson. I always think of the mr anderson minds as mr anderson the back of my head. Yeah and it's interesting like i. Because she does live with him. And we see that marriage. Through the lens of george slash jake like. We don't know the ins and outs we don't like like he. I think he bugs the apartment but we don't know every single thing that happen yeah. We haven't seen their full courtship so we don't really have a good idea of what marina is really like other than to kind of us. What we understand about women at the time period has kind of to fill in some of the blanks. You know yeah and that kind of leaves. It open ended enough for you to fill in the blanks. Either more terribly or just be like okay. This seems to be their normal right And i think a lot of that depends on your lens. You know and how you read situations. And i'm saying you i'm saying people in general like we all bring a certain level of bias in a certain level of like our worldview To every story read. And so and just like georgia slash jake. Does you know he's telling us through his lands through his twenty twenty lens is twenty twenty. I think it's twenty sixteen. Maybe i can't know it have to be before two thousand sixteen. I can't remember what year he's going back to. Yeah i'm not one hundred percent sure if it was just twenty eleven like when the book came out or if it was a different year probably too i mean i guess we probably assumed twenty eleven. But i can't remember. Oh yeah it is. Twenty eleven sweep man. The days in the years are running together recently. Oh i know what you mean like wait years. You know you get to a certain age where you forget you start to forget. How old you are you know. And i didn't believe that would happen until it did. And i was like no. I'll never forget that that's weird and then it happened to me and it's like okay. I see it. What day is it. Now yeah and this story is just really good. Start to finish and as someone who has read not quite all of kings books just yet. But i've read enough of them to know that. I'm going to like certain ones that. Start off on the right foot for me. And this was one where i was like. Oh he's going to dairy. That's way more interesting than him. Just popping into texas Yeah and i was so surprised how much this book had that was not about jfk. Yeah like when. I think about this book i think about jake and sadie. Think about the time travel. Yeah you think of jake and sadie and how big of a presence. jfk was Yeah and that's like on this read. I've been thinking about that a lot. Because if i think about what. This book is really about an especially like given the ending in the way the time travel thing resolves like i think it's really about like loving like spending time with the the people you love and like the moments like making the most out of what you have because there's this big life event that he tries to change and then he realizes that he can't and like there's this level of understanding that you don't have control over everything in your life and maybe you find this wonderful person to love but things are going to happen outside of your control and you just can't do anything about that and so you have to savor the moments and like make the most out of them when you have something good and i just really. That was the reading that i took from it this time. Because he can't change. I mean he has the opportunity to change but to change the past and back and just take sadie he like he could just just go back in time and wait and jodi for her to show up and then not worry about jfk at all but he chooses not to because he realizes like it just isn't meant to be and that's such a hard lesson to learn but i think the older i get the more i learn things like that is like this is just not i would love for this to happen in my life for this to be a part of my life but it's just not and i can love the other parts of my life. You know yet to go back to jacob sadie a little more to. It's not that everything is easy for them..

"Then he said it's called fat up get up from what we can tell the guy apparently was a Democrat instead of a Biden supporter eight it was about how other any was like trying to ask it it's sort of us halfway supporter fashion but Biden was so he sold Sadie thinks that this is some sort of Republican plaid season so what what's the deal that yeah you still let you push me this looks like nods I beat yet when you have it are you would somebody was literally out of their mind they'll start you know not understanding that you're not even argue with them and and then challenge with all this crazy kind of crap like used to see that like in the third grade yeah yes children to push ups and everything else under the sun your magic if trump did that I've I mean they keep said trump is out of control and prompt this and trump that the Democrats are ready the guy who Joe Biden has lost his mind he might not have ever had full control of it but he's off his rocker I would just like I couldn't understand why would you put screaming at the guy I do get that the guy was breaking up the whole subject of Ukraine and he said you are you are trying to get in there and do this that and the other thing but it was kind of a parent that he wasn't being hostile but he was a Biden if not a Biden supporter at least the Democrat is open to Biden and it was kind of directing the whole thing in there it it didn't seem like it did it did it strike you that the guy was trying to pin bite into the wall and go after but I don't think he was this is asking questions it was tried to reason through what was going to add it figured out what the Biden told roll of this is that Joe Biden is read nobody ever say get nobody ever you could say nobody ever said that nobody ever said that everybody would say about okay joke I said that so they can't say nobody ever said that's what I mean I told Joe Biden Joe I said what ya think you that's good down the took the push ups right now Hey and you'll probably get a fact what's the matter with him you know it he's the here's the thing I just described a guy he's clearly a lunatic he's the candidate for president he's the least crazy of all about what yeah of course is late who else is going to take over there Bernie a one hundred year old communist Elizabeth Warren you want to put her in there she's fallen she's fallen apart faster than a rock fall that off the top of Mount Everest when she actually explain what Medicare for all wise there is not even the Democrats want a supporter not to mention the fact that she's like the meanest angriest looking woman of all time did you give me your P. plug it around out there so tense fallen apart the guy can't run so bad he and his husband somebody else is going to win this and it might be Bloomberg but here's the thing about Bloomberg there are no Democrats who like you I think there might be more Republicans that like Bloomberg the like it Democrats in general don't like billionaires they might be okay with Tom sire but they just don't like Bloomberg Abby they look at him as Bloomberg actually is kind of a self made man they don't like that they don't much like a guy that's running around telling you can't do all these things because you know what they know dog god will eventually go to start telling him you can't do your pot and all the stuff that they want to do you can't have the big gulp you can't have this you can't have that you can't do this that or the other thing you can't smoke you you know who would expose more liberals or conservatives liberals I I agree with that but how come they never tested that wouldn't that be a good survey they've got these surveys on everything it all yet I my favorite one is I did this a couple of years ago remember the what segment idea about the number of people who claim they have geo thermal units the percentages way higher than the number that have ever been solved it's like two people think they have them and not or they just lie about it I am convinced that that will tax credit you think you get for that the people are scared but this right left this story come out like three years that number at that they eat their water what what's the iris going to dig up your yard you they're not gonna dig up your yard the the IRS does it have contractors that would any of this stuff I do I don't believe the IRS is checked at anybody all you need is paper work which can easily be doubled up you don't thank you hang around construction guys you don't think there's contractors that have doubled up fake receipts better said we put in a unit were one that didn't go in there and the person's claim of the credit in the guy kicked the contractor a little bit of money but didn't have you know he did actually put in the thing you don't think this is go outside I first thought I admit I the was cynical guide areas and I like fighting I just I I have a hard time believing anybody's on the up and up how can you how can you do what I do and not be cynical seriously how could you do what I do with that without being cynical this whole thing that happened with the Milwaukee police chief how can you cover a story like this and not be cynical how can you cover what's going on with the convention center right now in Milwaukee and not be cynical how can you cover the M. P. S. referendum let's double all the taxes in Milwaukee and suddenly M. P. S. will become a good school district and not be cynical how can you really cover anything and how did you watch the impeachment say impeach a guy over literally nothing and not be cynical so I admit I'm a cynical guy but that geo terrible thing I just I am convinced that's a racket and I'm convinced people are filing for the test taking the tax credit for it claiming they put it I'm not said nobody's putting in these units all right I'll pass this Paul do you know anybody that's put it a geo thermal unit no neither why now there might be two or three people out there in the audience that it do it but we have a massive audience I bet it's less than twenty twenty people less it right I I I I I I've never seen anybody put money and I've never known anybody who's but what is that I don't want to get the one guy who had one and call the other all I got what he had that's the exception that does not prove the rule but you know people like claim in this tax credit like crazy I think it'll be a scandal contractors are going to be investigated once it starts the dot in somebody added or the FBI or the IRS to somebody or another the the they'll dig into this said the go after one contractor the find out that some contractor claim they put in seventeen hundred units and they put it none and that'll be the tip of the iceberg I mean when you get a tax credit for something that you can't see in the only way you can prove that the person didn't do what is dig up their entire property you said a contractor can look at it and well you could look at your your heating system and see whether or not there's a hook up there's a hook up that would go to it when's the last time the IRS auditor waiting your house instead of pop the only people who do that at the assessors you know for your property taxes well they go they go in there but the IRS is it in the basement looking around are they they have people yeah I know what their people what what what we we know what the I arrested under a Bob they went into the they would do this to anybody who was a Republican member of the conservative groups they got themselves audited and no lefty groups did number that operation some people say.

"Sadie Dom had just wanted a long time they driven out to Briar Woods Park for a little romance but then an announcement on the radio had warned that serial killer Harold Martin Randall had escaped from the nearby Prison Sadie was horrified. Her aunt had been one of Randall's victims gouge through the torso with his hook hand the apple agreed to head home but only gotten a few feet when two of the tires deflated then they saw him across the Road Herald Martin Randall waving CDs is pinned on Randall the man from her nightmare there's no one who had abducted her aunt torturing and humiliating her as she died suddenly several deer burst through the greenery onto the road she checked to make sure they weren't coming towards the car again when she looked back to the train line Randall was gone the only signed that he had ever been there was the slight shifting of the tree branches they couldn't call for help they couldn't leave it was only a matter of time before Randall Came Back Sadi's cards seen better days but she hoped it would be sturdy enough to withstand an attack Sadie thought of her aunt again her car door had been undamaged meaning she had willingly left the vehicle they would never know for certain what induced her to do that whether he was masquerading as someone in need or had threatened her with a weapon the funeral was closed casket there wasn't much left to look at and what remained look nothing like the bright and intelligent woman that they all knew if Sadie dom didn't survive Dave they'd end up in a similar position her father thought that they were at school baseball game it would take a while for anyone to realize they were missing doc sadie sister could point them in the right direction but the park was huge Randall would move them he always did CD shivered dumb placed his arm around her trying to be comforting he after that he was scared too but they were going to make it the police were here somewhere combing the forest with guns and flashlights she dom were safe in the car she was right they shouldn't leave it she didn't share his faith in the system Randall was out there and he knew where the two of them were he'd make sure they couldn't leave he would be back for his prey we sat in silence for what felt like ours no cars passed by no more deer just the two of them they cuddled for warmth and comfort a weight of regret settling in both of them the noises so soft that sadie thought she was hallucinating at first but then it continued a steady soft thump against the passenger side door Dr Sadie froze slowly lowering her gaze to check her side mirror randall met her gaze smile he was a vulture of a man dark hair and Pale is wild and Hungary his skin was dirty unscratched as if he'd clawed his way out of hell he was digging his hook into the door handle on doing the lock mechanism cd shifted her gaze back to neither of them knew what to do as they debated the thumps got closer together there there were only two options wait for him to come inside or get out and hope they could run fast enough dom lifted her up quietly to move her to the driver's side he gave her a quick kiss and told her him her she echoed the I meant then she quietly opened the driver's side door she darted forward trusting dom to follow Randall might know these woods than them but they were athletes they had speed and endurance on their side Sadie race toward the trees leaves conscience onto her feet the noise was too loud in the eerie silence there should have been more noise behind her befuddled dom footsteps following his own set of leaves and branches breaking beneath him she looked behind her all she could see was the car's headlights a single looming shadow in towards her no sign of her boyfriend sadie swallowed the stomach acid that was creeping up her throat she had to go back Tom Didn't get to play hero she needed him she searched her surroundings for some way to get the upper hand the snap of a branch and the Rustle of feet being through leaves made her dart against a young tree just thick enough to hide her silhouette she held her breath as the footsteps got closer they stopped she was preparing to make a run for it when callous tan grabbed her pinning her against the tree the moon just behind him shrouded his face shadows but she knew who had was his hook slithered down her are scoring the skin he was telling her tears walker is randall ran his hook across her cheek slowly the trees flashed thing to red and blue around them as a police approached she could see rentals face fully this time the anger the interest than recognition everyone said sadie was the spitting image of her aunt apparently her killer agreed he raised his hook and brought down she cried out in pain coughed up blood black began to creep into the edge efficient as Randall ran away into the growing darkness be only evidence he left behind what's his hook embedded in sadie stomach. no one ever saw him again November eighth nineteen sixty advice columnist Abigail van Buren otherwise known as dear abby printed rather strange letter dear abby if you're interested in teenager Britt lovers lane to listen to the radio and do a little necking the music was interrupted by an announcer who said there was an escaped convict in the area who has served time for rape and robbery he was described as having a hook instead of a right hand the couple became frightened and drove away when the boy took his girl home he went around to open the car door for her then he saw hook on the door handle I don't think I will ever park make out as long as I live I hope this does the same for other kids Jeanette the hook as a lot in common with the boyfriend's death which we explored earlier this month the most noticeable change is ultimately the fate of the teens who both survive thanks is to the young girls insistence on trusting your instincts to flee instead of continuing to park with her boyfriend while the boyfriend's death involves the boyfriend undying for his gallantry after heading out into the darkness in search of help in the hook the boyfriend actually acts as a kind is the titular murderer remains unseen throughout while genetics version as described and dear abby is much kinder to him many of the iteration ends of the boyfriend in the hook find him continuing to pressure the girl to forget about the dangers and go back to well hooking up when she fuses he ultimately does the driving equivalent of storming off speeding them away from the hook handed killer folklorist Alan Dundas suggests that the hook is a phallic symbol reflecting the sexual politics of the legends original telling namely that the romantic rendezvous it's ultimately her persistence that saves them.

"You for having. Well, thanks for being suck up to us. Now. This is a weird one for me. I gotta be honest. And I was that I've matured now later thirties. But I was that guy who couldn't stand you on the field. Appreciate that. I would I would do the hell I hated the slide and all that I knew your great ball player. He stunk. I wouldn't have had those type of motion. So that's gotta make you feel good. But what an entire fan base like the Mets fan base dislikes. You do you take pride in that? Or is that a weird thing for you to process, it's a little bit weird planet, professional sport. You know that you're gonna have. I just don't like you. And we had some pretty good games against the Mets over the years of the revolution. That we had was pretty special two thousand seven to two thousand ten pretty pretty fun years to to play against each other. Yeah. It's not the most comforting feeling in the world. But it is what it is. So Chipper Jones like loved it. He he didn't have the slide thing we'll get to that. But Chipper Jones seem to really embrace that and the Mets fan sort of embrace them back so much. So he named his kids shea, and they give video trick the Mets frigging tribute when he retired. So I mean, there's I guess it just depends on your personality. And how you handle those things I was. Up on the west coast. Baseball's a little bit different. They're here on the east coast the fans are into their intense. They're wild. They love you. Or they hate you. And. Obviously, they didn't fare. I can tell you right now, you're not getting a video tribute anytime city field. That's for sure. So when you to dinner in New York, do you actually put the reservation onto your name or now? Something look my wife question. What she does. All right because I just wondering if you've ever run into fans when you're out to dinner here in New York and has anybody ever confronted? You know, I have not been really know. Wow. That's kind of interesting, especially after what happened two thousand fifteen when you slid into second base and broke our second basements. Sure stopped. But the point being that you and you went in hard and. I did what I did for the past ten years. Frightening hardest base. I'm second basement myself. So I know that. Created a rule change the rules rule was going to be change guardless. But yes, I I understand it looking back on it knowing that was gonna break changed changes of it. I would have probably got into a little bit easier. And that's one thing you want. Do not wanna do is hurt an opposing player, but I've the intent was to go on and break up play definitely was not the intent to hurt him. So when you know that retribution is coming. That's got to be just a czar feeling -ssarily. -sarily? Came up with old school coach coaches with kind of old school mentality. Take for tat so -ticipant being hit at some point. I wasn't going to be upset about it. If one of our guys got hurt and that same way, I would want that guy to be hit by pitch. It's just part of part of the program. So I was I was -ticipant. I was waiting for. It wasn't going to be upset about it. And I was gonna take my face and. I did over two hundred times go to I saw chase on boomer and geo on the fancy BS sports that were mentioned the old school stuff. And now you have this divide with the backflip have the major league baseball, by the way is on the side of the younger players celebrating. They like that. When you're now, you know, working with LB, you're still organization year little bit older. Where do you stand on the old school new school backflip stuff? I'm torn I like you said I was a guy that put my head down ran around the bases. I didn't want it show up to their team didn't want to create more. Give myself more attention than than deserved. But I get it. I understand why guys to it as excited. So the game is slowly volving changing in my opinion, the players better than they were ten years ago the pitching now see it on nightly basis as don't hard ninety seven hundred every everybody coming out of the bullpen hard. That wasn't the case back in two thousand eight. So I'm again, I'm on the fence because I've I've played with some guys with both the Phillies and the dodgers that flip didn't make me mad. But that didn't I didn't want to do that myself understand why players reacting to it because there's still some players that just don't feel good about it. And I think the old school player is still having a hard time with the the separating oneself. I wanna talk to you about the money baseball. Because of what Bryce Harper Machado finally gotten a free agency years that a couple years there that the free agent. Market was down and still is down. I'm Craig kimbrel. Can't find a job guys. Like, Dallas kaikal still haven't signed a contract, right? What what in your eyes? What is going on? Now that you work for the dodgers on the other side of the fence into good question. I think players are getting better. I think teams are doing better job of evaluating talent. And and finding ways to. Pick guys out of the weeds that can essentially do the same thing guy that makes three or four or five million dollars. Can do the scouting is better. There's a lot more information. There's stat casts and all these different things are giving you so much more information than what we had ten years think the players are relieved that Machado and Harper got their money. And of course, my trout got his money, of course. But but they're still disgusted other guys. Still can't get the money that they think that they deserve. No self. I've sold that a long time ago. You have to know what you're able to do what you're capable of doing. And also put yourself on that path to be to be successful. And I think that also counts when you're negotiate and contract you have to understand where you fit in. And where what your value is? And and nowadays, I think teams are doing a better job of understanding. Everyone's value you see the the Harper and Philly marriage last thing as long as contract, you think that was a good mix and a good fit for Bryce embarrasses a hard nose player. All the games we played against them. He played really hard. And and there's one place you need to do that. That's in Philadelphia. And so far the fans are really loving. But he's doing obviously, very passionate great talent. So. That continues. I see that relationship going great. How involved were the dodgers in the Bryce Harper's. We've stakes because we heard the reports. But how serious did it get the way over my pig? Right. Yeah. So what as a special adviser you get the phone? Call to Bryce Harper your now. Of course, what are you kidding me later? I did not get that phone call. But yes, all right here on behalf of Scots in the field refurbishment program, which is renovating youth baseball and softball fields across the country. Tell us about that. Because obviously getting kids playing baseball for the rest of time is crucial to the game. So what are you doing Scott to choose? I think it's important. We're talking about earlier. The conditions of some fields. Nowadays, aren't aren't aren't great. I was lucky enough to play on a beautiful field grownup. And I want my kids I have two boys seven four I want my kids to have that same ability to grow up on on on fields that are that are safe. They're fun that that you enjoy actually going to in Scots over the past four years done a great job of finding these fields that that need help this year. The they've given out four for grants team here feel here in New York. One Chicago one in Oklahoma also want an Allen town, Pennsylvania, which hits home to me being close to Philadelphia. So they've done an amazing job of of just fixing these fields and making them a safe place. The kids can hang out in. I've said to voice that I want outside all the time. I wanna limit their their screen time. I think that's important. As as parents to recognize that being outside is important. I was grew up outside all the time. California can't be outside. Right. Did you? Do you like when you get ready to play the Mets, and you were coming to you the city field or Shea Stadium? Did you just like wanna piss off or what I mean? Like did you just play against the Mets? I did love planning the atmosphere was great allow their intense. There didn't like us a debt still that created more adrenaline. So I think that can elevate your game been. So those all those games were really exciting. Because of that. And yes, there's plenty of fans. I remember coming off the field one time. And there's a boy he was. Ten years old. Maybe that's what we start young hair years old and walk in the dugout. He's looks me right in the eyes. And he goes, I hope you Blinken dot. When I looked right at his dad, and like, I can't believe ten years old. He said this maybe his dad's gonna sit and his dad repeated the same thing as. Okay. What we started getting chasing. You have a heart attack and die. Yeah. That's right here in New York. I tell you that you seem like a really decent guy of fun guy to be around. Even though you're kind of quiet. You're more quiet than I thought you would be. But I I mean, it's got a your villain. I mean, that's just the way it is here in New York. That's fine. You don't embrace it because we had a hockey player and off your hockey fan, but Sean Avery joined us earlier in the week of Sean Avery is just that antagonise, and he loves it. He's looking to fight people in the streets. Right. And he needs this to fuel hip. You're the exact opposite of that. You would you would like it. If Mets fans liked you. That's the that's the sense that I'm getting from you. I appreciate the passionate part about the fans in the Mets not not really taking kind to me. I don't like it. I don't hate it. I felt like it propelled our game a little bit. See I was going to open up the phones and see if met fans had some to Sadie thinking that maybe you would actually like that. But I'm thinking you're not gonna like that. I don't wanna do that. You can do whatever you wanna do. I like that. What do you think? Al you want to give it a try to see his put dopes throw, but a Thang produce right dope through hopefully every now. And again, a dope. Does get a Mets fan. Wanna talk to chase only have something. That's not. I hope you believing die because we're not gonna have any of that. But we'll start. I'll make you feel good. We're going to start with this guy. Chris in Staten Island. Chris go ahead. What's up guys? Hey. Fan. And I made a mistake. Maybe my of to hated rivals and his name is safe on what the hell you doing. Chris. I do. Yeah..

"Go. The reason I say that is because if it's love why is there hesitating, you know, if you truly love this person. There's no hesitation he wouldn't even think about it. But if you got reservations and stuff, that's that's just red flags. So that's why I say that some. Yeah. Once lately hesitates say these like, wow household was like, hey, we take a break say doesn't wanna take a break. She's afraid they're gonna break up. Let us like it's just a little bit break. So Sadie Taylor moves out. And of course, you know, they have all the same friends there. I know it's like very cliquish. So what I like about this show is that you find out that, you know. It's Leyla is you know, she's this girl lady of Persian descent, virtually no Iranian parents. So, you know, you find out throughout the series that yes, she had to come out to her. Parents. Wasn't easy. They love her. But whenever they see her. It's very strained. You know, because in their custom, you know, my daughter's not supposed to be gay. So that's interesting in. You see before they have their split, Mike. There's a scene where? Layla in Sadie, our ETA gathering and. Like, it's like, I don't know if he's the partner or the coach at guy at this game are and. Night. Ensure wasn't a game. I just wanted just in a bar. But. What happens is that Leyla flirting with? The call attendant slash part in a mess show. What he was because she changed her hairstyle and say, you changed your hair. She didn't say she changed it. So the guy's like, oh looks nice. And then, you know, and it's like you look nice. She just seem kind of silly into very nice. She was a teenage girl. So I'm like, okay. Say the do you see that she's learning with this guy? I mean, so what I'm saying? Is that watching that episode? This the first episode. I'm like, okay. Yeah. It's kinda obvious to me that she's BI sexual, but you're not seeing that. Because just the way she was flirting with this guy. She just she was flirting with this guy as if she was not any relationship with Sadie. So I'll say about that way. By the time that led moves out and she moves into. She moves with gay by me. Gabe is just I mean, he's a nice guy, but he's just kind of dense and just. He's funny. He's and he's a smart guy. But he's just kind of. Look clueless and shelter. And you find out he's got the sister that just kind of smothers him and it's just unhealthy. When Layla comes over the meet gave his house, assisted they're leading dinner, you know, and then leaving to go home, and she's married to dislike really, you know. You're a grown man gape, you should be able to make your own dinner. Or and and or at least buyer owned in need your sister who has a family to come over and do their for you just like what's going on with you? So. The dynamic between Layla and gave it gets very funny. I really enjoy that chemistry is just he's just kinda clearly he's he's on his own ego trip. He really is. And there's a boring affect the happens to him. It's really really funny that I really enjoyed. I wanna oh when Leila's friends that. I like a lot is Dennis. That's her name Dennis he thinks like Dennis. But it's dinners and she's played by south yet China. Like Leila's best friend, and she's, you know, she's also lesbian. She just she just very deadpan. Very dry. Doesn't smile. Too much. Just she almost seems kind of numb very sharp. Very smart numb and just deadpan and just very funny, and you just want to you. I found myself one into dislike tell a joke just to try to make her lab because she just always seemed just kind of serious and her her friendship alleles interesting 'cause they're like polar opposites and then later on within the series. There's a flashback scene where you see what I meet and how they struck up their chemistry their friendship, and you see where Dennis was because you know, she was someone who. Was freed to come out. And didn't know if she should. And she's what the guy, but she didn't want to be with the guy. I guess just last stuff that a lot of people go through who may who are I guess in the gay community struggling to come out. You know, the fear they have to deal with so very enlightening, very, informative funny, and charming, and all of it is this show is really great. I like it a lot just I. Just I've been watching. I couldn't stop just. The humor is funniest dark. But it's not too dark and then Mike. There's some obvious things going on with characters and like even when Layla snap being sure of herself or maybe feeling insecure about some things she. Like, what is he gave gave us someone who needs? So Gabe stuck in his own bubble. He's writing for different. He's he's writing like. He's riding move us. And he's writing for other people, but he's not he hasn't written a book since his first one. And you don't know you don't quite know why until it on the season. You find out on and it has to do with his sister. Like when we first see a sister. We think. Okay. So she's the normal one. And he's a mess while you find out that they're both just a mess and that she has aided in his dysfunction that they're of code opinion. And that she's just smothers him, and he's like afraid to say anything, and is a real pivotal scene. Flashback where you see gives book is discovered. The woman this lady who wants to publish it. She works publishing company. She falls forgave. She wants to be with Abe, and they make these plans and gave tells his sister. She just freaks out on them. And then you find out basically that that was a real bad turning point for him. But also gave his teaching university to forgot to mention as he's been teaching. So he sleeps with one of his students. And the next day. You see them in bed, and he's looking at her and he's trying to figure out how it's going to get rid of her or we wants to wants to. You know, he wants to. Learn down easy, you know, so full of himself. You know, he thinks he's got all the answers. And he thinks he doesn't or he or he thinks he knows he thinks he knows what he's doing. But. He can't kind of see passes on ego. So. Francesca is the student he sleeping with. And when he goes to tell her. Hey, you're nice girl. But it's not gonna work. She's played by Michel kilo. If I'm saying name, right? She tells him. Hey, you know, what you're right is not gonna work on having relationship with you. And she turns around and goes back to bed. He's looking like, what did he mean? So it's funny. It's like is the boomerang effect. He tries to let her down and tries to be classy by them. Like, you know, I don't see this working. But I think you're great in the world, this can work just a real bullcrap line. The guys were us. But she slide. That's cool. I'm not tripping, basically, she's like, no, it wouldn't work. So once she does that too gave then he's all in. Now, he wants her now because she spurned him because she's like, no, I don't want to be with you. I'm still here. Come sleepy, basically. She then you find out that she's like twenty three and Gabe is in his forties. What are you doing? And Leyla tries to Tom in the nice way. She tries to drops like some passive aggressive hands. The he doesn't catch. And this just. Now whole situation gets interesting and really twisted in involve. And then you know, 'cause lately was control laugh Sadie, and she's thinking, oh, I feel a little bit guilty. But I need to do this. She doesn't think the Sadie might be able to do her own thing. So she she comes over to see Sadie thinking Sadi's like being spent stir and being all alone. And she finds that Sadie is slept with one of their co-workers, ruby young attractive, you know, woman and. You know, you can see Leyla just spinning when she sees. It has Leyla shows up with again is someone Leyla sees so say doesn't say her and ruby are in bed sleep naked. So they don't hear Linda come into the to the flat. Whether you're other house, so. Well, I'll tell you what happens after this break.

"On Monday creek sleep Dir from California yesterday. And here I am here in the six sixty answer studios in the big DFW in Texas, a very pleasant. Good morning to all of you wherever you may be Hugh Hewitt is back tomorrow. And boy. And I said I've always eager to hear any given mornings Hugh Hewitt Show. But tomorrow might be a little extra suspense as you describes what it was like to be in Turkey with the with the Bolton entourage and get shut down by the Turkish president all of a sudden said guess, what this meeting ain't gonna happen. What in the world is going on there, and what are the ramifications of that for our withdrawal from Syria. I would suggest you it's not happening anytime soon, and by the way for those of you who suggests that all of conservative radio, all we do is kiss. Trump's ring that Syria withdrawal, always bothered me. The idea of of leaving some residual force in Syria. So that there's not a vacuum into which is this and Al Qaeda was ever left of them, and HAMAs and Hezbollah and Russia and rerun and who knows who else might have some mischievous aim in Syria. There's something about an American military presence that dissuades that it. Doesn't have to be fifty thousand guys and gals. It's it's, but so I was concerned about the Syria withdrawal. The president comforted me in recent days and weeks by saying that look we're not going to pull out by next week. This is something that will have certain measuring stick certain indicators that will that ordeal at what rate are our troops draw down is a drawdown. Okay. Yes. There's a complete withdrawal. Okay. No, not with me. And I have a feeling with national security adviser like John Bolton who very articulately described. What the what the criteria should be to merit a Syrian withdrawal. I think they're going to be it's going to take some time to get there a feeling of security for the Kurds number of other things. But that's that's that's just. A ton of what you'll be talking about tomorrow as well. As his thoughts on what has transpired on shutdown showdown and the the border and last night, Trump Pelosi and Schumer Tele television appearances at cetera et cetera. But the first thing I want to play for you can follow me on Twitter at Mark Davis, by the way, pre shaped that and always at hughhewitt hughhewitt dot com, where you can see the glorious visuals of what's going on in this room. You see, Hugh, and he's in California. You saw about France in Cleveland on Monday, you saw Kirch sleeker yesterday in the studios there in Orange County and here you are in the room with me right here on the right hard by the DFW airport eastern border. So check us out here at the sixty AM answer DFW because the cameras are here in this room to and boom here we are. And you could watch it all right now at hughhewitt dot com. Now, the first thing that I told you I would play would be Chuck Schumer not from last night. Oh, no, no. This is Chuck Schumer from about a decade ago. And let's as we prepare to hear this. It's thirty eight gold. In seconds. Right. But keep in mind that Chuck Schumer today. Feels that a wall is immoral Chuck Schumer today feels that a president who's trying to get us. Some additional border protection is engaged in some horrible senseless hostage taking its governments by temper tantrum. It's just a terrible terrible thing. Well, let us juxtaposed that with Chuck Schumer from a speech at the Georgetown law school in two thousand nine and here's what Chuck Schumer thought about border protection at that time. But we also need to set the record straight the American people need to know that because of our efforts in congress our border is far more secure today than it was when we began debating comprehensive reform in two thousand five between two thousand five in two thousand nine of asked mount of progress has been made on our borders and ports of entry. The progress includes nine thousand new border patrol field field agents in the last four years construction of a six hundred thirty mile border fence for six hundred thirty miles of border fence that create a significant barrier to illegal immigration on our southern land border. Imagine that Chuck Schumer with praise for something that physically impedes illegal immigration what a difference a decade makes. Let's return to the president's address its own self. This is about the last minute and a fraction. This was the finish of the address. I think there were a couple of quotes in there. That resonated. I've said already number of times today. I don't know if if the needle mood as the as the saying goes, I don't know if they're millions of Americans waking up this morning gung. Oh my gosh. Trump is right. I get it. Now. I I've love if that were the case, I don't know if that's true. Just I think it's gonna take the passage of time. If it took us a long time to get this lazy about our borders. It took us a long time to get this neglectful of them. It's gonna take a while to to bolster them. But thank God that process may be underway. Conversely, though, I certainly certainly don't feel that millions of Americans woke up and said, oh my gosh. The blessing Schumer ah, right? The the president is a scoundrel holiest hostage with some mean Zena phobic terrible hateful wall that he has a murmur of in his dark heart. Don't think there are millions of Americans waking up and starting to feel that way this morning as a result of their of their show last night. I think mostly everybody wakes up this morning feeling exactly the same way today yesterday morning. So what got achieved? Well, I did enjoy the idea. Enjoy this enjoyed the quote of the president talking about that. We don't have walls because we hate who's outside the we have walls because we we love who's inside. The I don't know who wrote that. Hey, I don't see Stephen Miller that for some reason, I don't know maybe maybe Wagner Jared came up with that boat or maybe maybe maybe the president himself. But let's hear the president himself as he wrapped up his address last night. It's cut seven go ahead over the last several years I've met with dozens of families. Whose loved ones were stolen by illegal immigration. I've held the hands of the weeping mothers and embraced the grief stricken fathers, so San so terrible. I will never forget the pain in their eyes tremble and their voices and the sadness gripping theirselves. How much more American blood must? We. Before congress. Does it? To those who refuse to compromise in the name of border security. I would ask imagine if it was your child. Your husband or your wife whose life was so cruelly, shattered and totally broke. Every member of congress pass a Bill that ends this crisis to every citizen, call congress and tell them to finally after all of these decades, secure our border. This is a choice between right and wrong, Justice and injustice. This is about whether we fill our sacred duty to the American citizens we serve when I took the oath of office. I swore to protect our country. And that is what I won't always do. So help me God. Thank you and good night. Man, it gets better marinating overnight. I obviously enjoyed that. It resonated with me when I saw it last night. It resonates with me now. And. This. I think is what fuels my thought that the pendulum is swinging on the shutdown. It's not so much that millions of Americans are starting to blame the Democrats as being scalawags. You don't care about border security. I'll leave that to my words. But I think that with an impassioned wrap up of his remarks last night. I can see a lot of people waking up and saying the wall does make us safer. It may or may not be my favorite idea. Someone might say. But I'm not president. And he is he's president. He wants five point six billion dollars to build a wall and government spent five point six billion dollars since he went to bed last night. So don't tell me we ain't got the money even in a country. We got the money. And so why not just do it? Why not just do it? And see how it goes. By the way, that is the secret of a whole lot of Trump's appeal. There are a lot of people who may not be that ideologically wired who may not view every single thing as necessarily conservative or necessarily liberal, but they wake results they like when it seemed like government is working in government is doing the things that it is supposed to do doing more of the things we wanted to do than the things we don't want it to do like tax us to oblivion the tax cuts were popular for people across a wide political spectrum strong borders are popular for people across a wide variety of the political spectrum Sadie think the president made.
