I'll be sending in soon that I had the loosest links tube but if I forget or remember that I have a-levels I should be doing. Maybe maybe you might want to look up the abduction of Madeleine McCann. Oh honey. We know that it's sort of the Jon. Benet Ramsey of England and has become a kind of Colt icon here. Yeah we know we know. Yeah it's everywhere by Hana Ana isn't eh the bath. I have been a fan of the podcast for the past few you months and it has made me relieved to know that I'm not alone in wanting to hear about grisly murders. Staying up at night thinking about them. my hometown stories from about a decade ago. And I remember we're hearing about it when I was around nine or ten years old. I live in a town. Called Horley in Surrey in England and back in two thousand and eight England is in every. Now you're like we just WANNA give you. Yeah the island. We just want to give you all the information you need it. My small town was shocked when we discovered at that one over the chefs. Working at the most popular pub in town was a murderer and rapist chef was called Mark Dixie. Back in two thousand and five. He attacked an eighteen year. Old Woman called Sally and boom in in our own driveway in a completely random attack. Just minutes after her boyfriend had dropped her at home he was on a night out and saw her alone and took the opportunity to stab her seven times and Raipur in the driveway. Jesus but that's that wasn't off the top of his head. That's that's done something like that. Before right. The scumbag left her for dead and the case was unsolved for several months. It was about nine months later when he was arrested for having a fight in the pub he worked at the pub is about a five minute drive from where I live and the police police matched his DNA DNA found. Sally Body thing that I find most chilling is the main piece of evidence which helped to convict him was that there was a film record. Oh my God this is crazy. There was a film recording of him at work masturbating over a newspaper picture of Sally. Oh my God. Is that the most chilling fucking horrible thing you've ever heard. So he's working in the back of Bob. Oh my God he got see everywhere. There the poor SOC- TV whoever whatever person operator had to look through that and then discovered that and be like sorry. What's this yeah here? That's horrifying okay. The judge called it one of the worst murders he had ever seen. The guy was sentenced to thirty four years in prison but I hope they never let him out this stories quite notorious in my town because of the violent way in which is poor girl was killed honestly gives me chills every time we think about it. It's such terrible story and I always remember it. Every time I get dropped off at home I always ask for the person a friend taxi driver to wait outside until I go and just because you never know who might use it as an opportunity to attack yes always rated by Zauq Doc. Watch people to walk but watch people all the way on the door rushed. Watch them take out their keys and enter and then wave and then get them to text. Text you once. They're inside say the insides clear. Just keep checking. Keep checking shout out to my mom who loves a podcast in is also a huge fan. We love you. They don't even notice that British Georgia Georgia. What's British Georgia Georgia? I wonder American Door Jerry proper unlike American Georgia no burping. No this subject. Line of this is my hometown. Mystery of the dead man on the more are so crazy dear. Og murdering US perfect act really sweet. Nice one. Okay I've been wanting to write for some time but as you have already covered my hometown. Murderers the the infamous Moors murders. I I had to think further imagine being seven years old and being told about the five children around your age that were brutally murdered up the road on top of the surrounding hills that you love so much come murdering was born. Love it anyhow. I thought you'd be interested in a mystery which kripke UK in two thousand fifteen and took place in my hometown. Hometown Saddleworth knowing New England holding the oldest England she they wrote northern England Saddleworth which is pronounced worth or something. We'll find out later. In the morning of the twelfth of December two thousand fifteen and older looking man was found found dead on a path of of of stone reservoir lying perfectly straight in the path with his arms crossed across with his arms across his chest it was was freezing and the rain was torrential but he wore light clothes for the weather he had no identification on him at all or any personal artifacts that would tell people who who he was or why he was here he did have one hundred hundred and thirty pounds all in ten pound notes. Three train tickets from London to Manchester the day before in a small blue cardboard medicine box. The label was printed in both English. An urge you so all pretty weird clues and no one knew who he was. No one was able to identify him even with the sketch of his face on the news he was a mystery. The people at the more called him Neil because apparently he looked like a neil that was in quotes quotes and devastation after the name of the reservoir where he was found police got to work investigating. Neil checking CICI TV at the train stations and asking around the village he walked into the Clarence pub where I had my first ever job as the worst fucking ever waitress known to person kind I love it really want to hear the stories. Yeah Anyway he asked how to get how to get to the top of the mountain meaning the hill side of the Moorland. The staff warn the man that he wouldn't get there and back before dark mark but he asked them to repeat the directions and left anyway. Weird sounds like suicide right. Well even weirder. He died from strychnine poisoning poisoning and archaic poison written about in Agatha Christie novels and currently banned in the European Union. Doesn't it sound like he's trying to establish an alibi by going in Marin saying tell me how to get to this weird place to this once the Nabet how me again like that. Sounds like you're gonNA remember me. Yeah may be. Maybe someone was following him. Oh maybe maybe then say settlements while you tell me these directions. I've also another piece of information. Yeah I keep going no. There's a lot of okay okay. Why would someone kill themselves? And how did he even get that poison when it's banned over the whole continent and by now his face was all over the news in the UK. Why had no one come forward to identify him in an autopsy? A titanium plate was found attached to his left femur strangely didn't have a serial number but was branded by company found in Pakistan through. This police managed to identify him as David. Lighten so not a Neil and saw that that was on the edge And saw that he had flown four thousand miles from Lahore Pakistan. Two days before he was found dead on a path on Saddleworth more police found out more about his identity. But until this day no one knows the truth about his death did he return to the UK specifically to die by suicide. Then why did he come to Saddleworth Moor y you Strychnine who knows not me in all caps. Thank you so much for all that you do me and my partner love listening to your podcast and love being in the Internet sub communities that are only possible because of you both shout out to Macabre Reno's and smoker. They're saying you know he has commissions Sti- about and been in a lot of pain. You're right so if you died you would die right like like grabbed up looking like mid seizure. Yeah I'll did someone come along and do that like there's no way and also the rain. I bet prevented any kind of. It's like if there were fingerprints totally. ooh Yeah So. That one's schilling. Thanks Abby. Okay I'm not gonNa tell you the name of this one okay. MFM MFM team and Co.. Sorry I've might things together before it screwed all. MFM Team and company Nice. I'm going to get straight to the good stuff. Back in the nineteen seventies. My Dad nece family lived in Cambridge and even though he was twenty or twenty one he was still living in at home and then it says the dream while he was dating my mom who he met at a sixth form social and then thankfully for us they wrote Prom for the American audience. Yes thank you. Thank you because that does not sound like prom no previous year. Anyway during nineteen seventy four and seventy five. The city was on high alert because because some chap decided to break into people's homes and rape them call them at chap she did call much up. He wasn't is a different culture yes he would then dawn a long blonde don a long blonde wig and do a runner that means he took off. He put away on and ran but I love and runner. Okay imaging to elude the police for two years before his capture cheese so pictures back in the summer of Nineteen seventy-four no idea it was summer. But that's how I imagine it when my mom told me the story and my dad's younger sister also still living at home is hanging out in the garden of their home which was on the outskirts of Cambridge and talking to the very affable son of their neighbors about unquote. These awful attacks happening to women Cambridge and how bad it was etc etc.. The neighbors agreed with her and discussed it for a while before finishing fishing the conversation and going about their days long view months later when she found out he cut to a few months later when she found out she was shooting the Shit with none other than the Cambridge rapist himself about his attacks. Holy Fuck I mean seriously recently anyway. That's my parents. Hometown murder leading the podcast. It's literally my dream listening and so nice to feel like part of the FM community..
