OPEC+ oil producers cut supplies of crude to global economy as oil prices have fallen because of recession fears

"OPEC and allied producing countries including Russia are cutting their supplies to the global economy by 100 bowels per day The decision by energy ministers means that the cut for October rolls back the mostly symbolic increase of the same amount in September and underlines their unhappiness with crude prices that have sagged because of recession fears the move follows a statement from Saudi Arabia's energy minister last month that the group could reduce output at any time Oil producers such as Saudi have resisted calls from president Joe Biden to pump more oil to lower gasoline prices and the burden on consumers I'm Charles De

Voter turnout sagging in troubled voting rights hub of Selma

"This weekend Selma Alabama observes Bloody Sunday but in that city fewer and fewer people are voting and to many given the history it's heartbreaking and even shocking almost six decades after black demonstrators on the city's Edmund Pettus bridge risked their lives for the right to vote turnout in predominately black Selma and the surrounding county in twenty twenty was under fifty seven percent among the worst in the state I'm shocked actually congresswoman Terri Sewell's district includes Selma we of all places you know the importance of voting in every election she says voter apathy coupled with voter suppression is weighing heavily on her now we have to give people a reason to go vote the U. "I'm sorry, how great did Kerry Washington look tonight? That yellow dress. I mean, did you tell her? Oh my God. What did she say? Well, I was just like, I just, I mean, I don't want to be gross, but I was just like, I can not get over how gorgeous you look. I mean, she's already a goddess, but that her with the yellow dress, she's amazing. Jessica Chastain in the eyes. Your face is going to be a meme. You were in shock. What did it look like my face? Oh, shoot, that's so embarrassing. Where did the tears come from? Hold it together on stage, did I? You did. I kind of cried a lot after I got off stage. It's very emotional this time and to win for an actress. I mean, I was so lucky to be in the help with those great gals and we went ensemble and that was one of the greatest moments and not to be here. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be holding it low. It's so it's like what ten pounds, 15 minutes. It has to be more than ten pounds. If it's ten pounds, I need to go back to the gym. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like 50 pounds, I think. How are you celebrating tonight, Jessica? We're drinking a bottle of champagne on the plane. That's for sure. That for sure is happening. So we brought him in. Sorry. She's right. It is really heavy. How many do you have two of them? I do have two, but yeah, I don't do dumbbells about them or anything, but you could. Terry with a foot. We were back there when Jean Smart received hers, and she literally started doing it. She was like, oh my God, this could be a workout. No, it really is. It's the heaviest award. For sure. That is amazing. I will never have the pleasure of holding a sack of water. You don't know. You just might. And you might have a shocked meme face just like Jessica Chastain. Oh, 100. That was really sweet. She really was, you know, sometimes you feel like that's fake. She was really shocked. She reenacted it. I told her she was going to be a meme, and then she put her head down and she goes, oh my God, here we go. She goes every awards show. They always catch me reacting to something, and I am always a meme, so we just did it together now. So cute. Did you see a really quickly I have to bring up Michael Keaton? How damn cute was he? Just how amazing history. I love that speech. It was so good. And if you guys have not watched dope sick, it's one of the most important shows that you can watch now. And before you watch it, just know that Michael Keaton went through something similar as the main character with his own family. So it just brings a whole new perspective to the entire show. His nephew, the nephew, he lost. Yes. Well, Fran girl, thank you for delivering. Of course, that's what I do. As usual. Thanks for having me. And it's a beautiful time in my life and in my career. So much. Jada celebrate a night. We're going to sleep. Clean the hell to sleep. Okay. A nap is a celebration around here. You deserve it. That and more. Thank you so much, will. By the way, let me just say my favorite part of the whole interview is when the publicist ring your arm to stop and you kept on going. Oh, well you know that's what we do. Because when the emotions are flowing, you don't just stop at a question. No. Will Smith saw his self being this champion for those two little girls? And he saw his father in king Richard, you know, Richard Williams, and you know, one of my favorite parts in that movie is when king Richard says, the world, the world never cared or never saw. He said, the world never respected Richard Williams, but they don't respect y'all. And it just hit me because there are so many black men in this industry. So many black men in this world that are not seen and he realized the burden of strength that he carried. It was beautiful. I love that. Now you also talk to Jessica Chastain? I did. We can heat up. I certainly did, Justin, it was so exciting. I had so much fun. He was amazing. We talked backstage about what the night meant to him, and he got pretty emotional with the interview. And the actor goes to Will Smith. That may have been one of the greatest moments of my career just now. Because my name was called for a king Richard sitting next to Venus Williams. When they said your name tonight, what came to mind will? I was sitting next to Venus. You know, and her sister isha was executive producer. I've gotta meet Andrew Garfield. I gotta meet him. I feel something taking them. And it's like, I'm blessed to escort them through the doors that is business. I'm blessed to deliver Venus and Serena and their families story to the world. And Venus was like, you know, thank you for telling the world the truth about my daddy. You know, and it's like. And you were late because I was just like him. My father, you know, that dreamer that everybody told him they couldn't do it. It was stupid. Murphy Remains in Tight Race With GOP Challenger in N.J.

"The strong Republican showing in the New Jersey governors race comes as a surprise. This is The New York Times of all places. Tuesday's elections left the Democratic Party reeling after one Republican won the governor's race in Virginia, and another posed an unexpectedly strong challenge in New Jersey's incumbent governor, with the race still too close to call. The twin blows raised alarms about the Democratic Party's fortunes, heading into next year's midterm elections, with President Biden's approval rating sagging and Republicans eager to rest back control of Congress. The most surprising unknown on Wednesday morning was the fate of the governor's race in New Jersey a state mister Biden carried by are you ready everybody? 16 points. Yes. And then now there is as The New York Times puts it a razor a thin contest. With a little known Republican challenger Jack chittore, a former assemblyman. With 88% of the expected vote counted mister Murphy that's the democratic governor was ahead by 1488 votes.

"The weight of its own mythology. By Stephanie's a Carrick. For a sequel to a sequel to a sequel to a sequel or something like that, David Gordon green's 2018 Halloween was marginally un terrible. Jamie Lee Curtis, reprising her role as slasher survivor Laurie strode, got the chance to do away with killer nutjob Michael Myers, Nick castle, once and for all, and at last succeeded. Or maybe not. Because, as you might have guessed, Michael, knife wielder extraordinaire is back in Halloween kills, also directed by green. This time around, though, the results are more mangled and messy. If nothing else, the 2018 Halloween, at least plucked a few comforting threads of continuity from the 1978 original. Curtis's Lori with her parched by life's skin and long gray mane looked very much like a woman who'd held type to a grudge for 40 years. The decades hadn't been kind to Michael either, the one advantage you'd think a mask would confer is the hiding of wrinkles, but Michael's pasty plaster visage had aged along with him as if his own mindless evil had become a source of perpetual exhaustion, but Halloween kills doesn't even have that degree of ham fisted visual poetry going for it. Curtis returns, but barely, near the end of the 2018 Halloween, Michael had stabbed her in the stomach, though not fatally. In this movie she spends most of her time recovering in a hospital bed as does another victim of one of Michael's rampages will patents officer Hawkins. In Halloween kills, there is no one to focus on and almost no one to cheer for. Judy Greer as Laurie's long estranged daughter Karen and Annie matichak as Laurie's granddaughter Allison, both introduced in the other film, are proffered as possible final girl heroines, but only half heartedly. Neither of them, not even everyone's favorite, almost star Greer makes the barest bloody thumbprint of an impression. Halloween kills is scattershot in febrile, a confused film in which people spend a lot of time milling around, figuring out what to do next. Meanwhile, Michael, or the shape as he's also known, has returned to his old stomping ground of haddonfield Illinois, a nice little place where nothing ever happens, except when its resident stabber comes to town, which is often. Still, everyone forgets about him from year to year. This is a town of convenient amnesiacs to spice things up, maybe green takes great pains to make Halloween kill seem political heavily borrowing visual references from the January 6th insurrection at the capitol. Anthony Michael hall as beefy baseball bat wielding citizen Tommy Doyle is gunning for Michael's blood. He's invented a catch phrase, evil dies tonight that's taken up enthusiastically by the mob that gathers around him. They're so angry, they corner the wrong guy. Oops. A more capable director might have done something with this idea, but in Halloween kills, it's just a half hearted nod in the direction of the mess, our country's in. Green, working from a script he co wrote with Danny McBride and Scott teams does nothing so valiant as pick a side. The violence in Halloween kills is gruesome and gory in a way that's so dull and unimaginative, it almost doesn't register as unpleasant. Eyes are gouged out or stabbed, repeatedly, that motif seems to be a fave. Necks are gashed using broken household items. You know, the usual. There's nothing creepily suggestive about Halloween kills. Everything it amounts to is right there on its shallow pitted surface. The idea of quote unquote elevated horror is a faulty one, the best horror movies reach us deeply because of their adherence to certain codes and styles, not in spite of them, but nobody needs depressed horror. Movies so terrible their unworthy of.

"Worked on a staircase one time where it was an nineteenth century eighteenth century house where a huge floorboard was popping up over near the top of the stairs. And we're we're thinking that something had said but what had happened was did cut the end of a big heavy joyce on the other end of the house. And now that joyce was cantilever off of a beam and lifting this part this part of this airbase see so i was trying to lag bolt the board back down and it would not budge because if there was a huge portion of the house. You like a lever lifting it up so if you put if you put a point load on a on a beam and there's more weight on one side than the other. It might not lift a portion of the floor instead of just support the whole thing. Jeff do you have any thoughts about this one of the things that caught my eye was that even though these are two by eight joyce notched at the end so the net really to eight on the on the beam end on at the center. Garter right guys. Correct me if i'm wrong. But it looks like there is missing like senator girder in this floor system rate for at least part of it and i think you got a fix that first and then work on stiffening the floor and the thing that brian was talking about where you just can't arbitrarily put posts and you have to also have footings with them is excellent advice. The thing i would add to. That is most good lumber yards. Have someone on staff whose really good at sizing engineered lumber products physically. Lv al and laminated strand lumber these kind of things that can be very helpful and making a beam and if you give them some details about how. Your house is constructed and pay attention to point loads. They can often be very helpful in sizing a beam. And telling you where to put post. Actually i think her manufacturers provide them with serious materials and services to do that. So very sophisticated. Yeah yeah so so. It's it's sort of your first option before actually hiring an engineer to come in Christmas photo of What you do. I'm curious this comes from andrew once again. This is andrew who's builder in asheville says. Hi guys working on a remodel. A fairly new log home. The building a two by eight stick frame first floor with log siding and a square log. Second floor when. I opened up the wall on the stick framing portion of the home. I noticed musty smells and what looked like water damage around the window opening. While i haven't pulled all the trim from around the window on the exterior it looks to me like the only waterproofing that was done with some l shape flashing behind the head casing and generous caulking the level is this level is pretty straightforward effects. Depending on how in depth the customers wanna get with removing citing sheathing and reinstalling the windows. I'm also placing window on the second floor with a wall is solid log. This area has the same water intrusion around the window and some damp would. I'm not really sure what to do to try and waterproof this opening says it's well a solid log so far my best idea is to use a power play into slope. The bottom of opening liquid flash. It make a soccer from the log above the wind opening to accept z. Flashing above the window zipped the sides and top in the nailing flange reinstall casing. I realized and we have one picture the window. I'll replacing so he did send that along. So what do you guys think. I mean like how the heck do you waterproof a log wall. It sounds like he's got a pretty good plan in place. I disappointed around and even though a lot of the lot. Companies are people who built blockhouses. Don't seem to have very good right. They yes usually involves a lot of sealant. Yeah and i guess if you're in a really in a pinch getting a super high quality sealant is part of the solution but it sounds like cutting in cutting in some flashing is not a bad idea and swooping the cell for sure your bite my tongue and it's not andrews fall that his clients have a dumb house right like what the heck. I don't understand these things but from his material is so problematic right because if it was like if it was like a block wall or something it psyche you. You'd be stuck with the same situation. But you wouldn't have a water sensitive material or material that moves with the season so right so i did some digging and you know one of my favorite companies for Sealants is sashko co Yeah they just make really good stuff in my experience. What that link super flexible caulking. They have brian big stretch. Big stretch which is amazing. If it's great yeah. I fixed more of my bad carpentry with so anyway. They make a line of products for log homes to and honestly i mean i would look to them for the the methods but it seems to me like the go-to thing for window. Detailing is foam backer rod and the right thickness of sealant and they make no bones about that. You have to tool this stuff like you know. It's because the gaps are huge. You know they care an inch or three quarters of an inch around a window. They probably should be because the logs move for eight not in length but certainly up and down at least while the house is drying out. I would imagine in this house since it has locks board siding on the bottom and solid logs in the top that maybe the transition between those two lead levels is something that should be looked at too. Because who knows. I'm sure there's not this chinking or caulking or something in there. There's probably no flashing in there. Because what are you gonna flash to really understand. Is why stud walls with log siding and then logs on top. Can you imagine like that's why they have to be to by eight because the thing ways gazillion pounds that maybe chemicals are or wiring. They needed to fit in there. Maybe it's a. I don't know maybe it's a hillside. You know out basement. And they framed in the side. There was walkout i. I'm kind of speechless. Because i don't really know what to say about log homes except that don't buy one or build one. I liked the idea of curbing the flashing alive that seems smart. Meet at the top of the window and the liquid flash on the bottom right but that is the only way to keep you know this water going and to make it waterproof. It's like you know you're in essence making a shower pan. Anything you can do to get gravity on your side is good. What do you guys think log homes. Let's go ahead. Jeff will start with you. I've said it before. It's like first seasonal house great for full-time forget about it brian. You know the the by romantic side would love to live in a log home with a woodstove in the middle of the.

"It's gonna freeze up and not work and potentially be damaged so you have to be judicious with how you close thing and unfortunately most Registers i learned this from march assam. Who was a hvac engineer. The wyatt interview earlier in the week with most registers you have to close them ninety percent to get a fifty percent reduction in airflow and the downside of that is it gets incredibly noisy because all this air is trying to get through this little tiny space. So if you have your tv room in the basement or whatever. All you're going to hear is like air rushing when he heating air conditioning system is running at the pictures of the house. I didn't see the floor. Clint you're talking about but so he's got a set of shallow hip roof over the upper level. And i'm guessing hopefully that there's the hatch to get up there and i'm just wondering if you know air sealing and some blown in insulation could go a long way to solving his problem. I know my brother has this big vaulted ceiling in this big room in the top of his house that he just can't keep cool compared to the rest of the house. So if you're if you. Hvac system is running all the time just to keep that upper level cool. You know that skin. There's much less load in the basement. Right because it's insulated by the soil and the short and the delta t between the basement and the main living space is way less than it is between the upper level in the attic. Temperature rate do you notice from his pictures or floor plan that he gave you. In addition to what you showed us is keeping things from it did split level where it's like very open. Were you got the the heat rises right up. Though staircases you know i think some blower door directed air sealing is going to be the way to go right so you need to have someone out there kurita blower door test your house and if you can find someone who can evaluate the fact system. That's often the same person you know. Have them scope it out. And i think you need nowhere. You're starting from to know what the right thing to do is to make her go ahead. I was just going to make you know even if even if down there even if there is you know. Hvac work that will need think needs to be done You wanna get that that That kind of work on. I saw that you're doing the appropriate work. You know those those locales than that a good contractor will do in a place like like that to to make decisions on on the best path. Forward should be based on. I upgrading up. Grignon will open. Just making the house tighter. Better insulated in you know That's that's really cost effective work and it doesn't matter if you get if you balance out you can balance out the temperature find find a way to balance the temperatures those rooms you can still have a Inefficient house yeah. Yeah so i can tell you what the age fact contractor is going to say when you call them up for you know your comfort complete. And they're going to tell. You need an alert in the attic. Right and you're going to need more ducks up there and you're going to have to treat it as a separate zone. But i don't think that's the right approach now and obviously if you're looking at lower cost and you don't have enough duct worker capacity for upstairs like the the more affordable thing might be to do a single zone mini split as a supplemental cooling for the upstairs. But like you said that's us that's something to do down the road after you deal with the envelope and an i did look the state of annoys like energy efficiency website. They don't seem to have like a subsidized or organized. Energy audit program like connecticut. New york do But they do have at least links on on a state website instead of give you recommendations for getting getting energy on a done so you'd probably have to serve as a search on your own resnick find. Bpi search through like certified energy auditors in your area corey you asked for the cheap fix At least try ceiling your basement dock work or you know in the in the dock work in the mechanical slash utility room to try and force more air to the rest of the house. I think that's a good inexpensive first step and it can't hurt. What do you guys think. Is that helpful yeah. Sometimes you'd be surprised that you'll find a really big leaks over and the duct system. You just never know and the other thing that could be happening is. It's a disconnected. Doc up in the attic if you do distribution ducks up in the attic and their flex duct which seems possible. It's quite often that they come off their ceiling register.

"Larry as i wrote back and told him he should buy what remained for his own projects. Right yeah for sure. I got piles of plywood scraps in my basement. That i was getting ready to. Just throw the dumpster. And i'm like. Maybe i should be keeping these things. Put him on facebook marketplace. You could pay front of car down payment or something on a job site yesterday and he had all this neatly stacked neatly stacked scraps along one wall he had taken hit demo a whole bunch of cabinetry and and he said you know he's in maybe know. Maybe this is the way. I should have been working all along for other reasons. But the price of things right now push me to think about like think about the pieces of blocking. I'm going to need to put in these walls and to just you know. Just find it within all these scraps from his cabinet. That i i had to pull out. I can tell you if if you have that stuff around it. You find a use for amazingly right even stuff. You think is completely Garbage somehow it comes in handy at some point. I'll tell you i. I hate throwing stuff out. I wish i had a double barn double the size because you know scattered. I collect lots of stuff to make ahead like a dozen bikes line around the cup to make distracter theme but like a built a headboard out of pieces of the old pergola that fell down in my back patio and every single time. I throw out something a week later. I needed our friend. Dan colbert wrote in With regard to our discussion of tilt turn windows and episode three sixty. he says We find a lot. A lot of clients. Mostly the tilt function. it doesn't intrude much on the living space and even better at sheds water He had some thoughts on our discussion of proper carping to he says we a piece of ep 'em before taking it down to the floor. You run it over the edge frame the exterior walls over it and then you cut it out when dried in. We also did this. When we had a new house with exposed beams and the finished to buy tongue and groove flooring. We needed to protect until dry and to protect after even. Obviously it's really heavy so you either need lollar on on site or a boom truck to have it delivered. And now we heard from our garden. He does a similar thing which It makes a lot of sense to me. I don't know what ab dpd and membrane cost. But boy it's bulletproof. I remember when mike was doing that. deck drainage webinar last year. He was talking about a cost less than a dollar. A square foot in some. And that's for the heavy stuff. So i mean you can probably get the thinner stuff or even for way less but if that's the case this year with all the price hikes but but the the thing about apm. I think that's crazy. Like tarps are not totally waterproof. Like me like when a brand new they are but not for very long if water sitting on it yet it does start to go through right. Yeah they get pretty. Beat up fast. And i think this son takes a toll on pretty quickly. You know once you've had it out in the in the you know the sun for a few days then you then you catch on a nail or a corner all of a sudden you've got big tearing it so i like that idea mean it. It doesn't seem nearly as manageable ep. Damn as a tarp just in terms of like rolling it up and wait and all that stuff. It's yes but you'll you'll use it for a long time. That's for sure it's meant to be out in the weather for thirty years right. I've got a scrap of it. That's like five by five. That came off some commercial roof job. That i just happened to be near about twenty five years ago and use it as the cover for the electric cement mixer that i keep outdoors and it's great because it's heavy don't even have to tie down. I think that's a great idea. So there you go folks. That's all you need to know about. Carping this comes from brian. Hi off from sunny boise idaho. I just wanted to get a quick suggest into the listener. Who asked how. Can i build a durable mini skate ramp on a tight budget and episode three sixty. There's a product to the side sign. Trade called expanded. Pvc sintra is the brand name. Unfamiliar with it works well for this application. We've used it on ramps or bmx biking. So i'm pretty sure. His skateboard ramp will be a piece of cake. Any technical data sheets will say that. It's not for long term exposure. But we've use it on signs that have spent upwards of ten years uncovered with only mild effect. The price is right Anywhere from fifteen to thirty bucks. She depending on the thickness. The only caveat is it tends to expand and contract about a quarter inch over eight feet depending on the temperature. This web link has specifics. Skater die like to use this stuff. Before when i worked in the construction business cabinet shop and his it looked like corrugated cardboard rod. It's it's basically just like the. Pvc trim boards that we use you know the white that gays trim boards But denser and it usually comes in like eight inch or quarter inch thick sheets of treating get another thickness is too but we always had anything. Quarter-inch sheets line around and and We make our wall panels would face like temporary wall panels out of it or an. It's it's it's really easy to cut work with. Does it come in. Cool colors like vans sneakers. You get any finish you want your matt gloss colored. It's yes all kinds of stuff cool. I love that our listeners Help us out with important questions such as these..

I remember was a wee boy looking at this going where they're these all these beautiful women in this girl. Why is she there are supposed to judge people by their appearance. Well, when I was in, like, seventh grade, I did. Mock wasn't Andrea. Do I have that right? Okay. No, no, no, no, Gabrielle, uh, precarious. It's a real name, but I just can't remember. Oh, yes, this isn't It was something like that anyway. So she Andrea Zuckerman. Okay, Andrea. All right, So that's right. So she is now the lead. She's the head of the SAG. And so he, Donald Trump wrote them a letter and said, I write to you today regarding the so called disciplinary committee hearing aimed at revoking my union membership. Who cares? And then he went on to say I'm not familiar with your work. But I'm very proud of my work on movies like home alone to Zulu Lander. And then he says, This brings me to your blatant attempt at free media attention to distract from your dismal record as a union. Your organization has done little for its members and nothing for me besides collecting dues and promoting dangerous UN American policies and ideas, as evidenced by your massive unemployment rates and lawsuits from celebrated actors who even recorded a video asking, why isn't the union fighting for me? "Of New York City. Glenn Berman and Michael Riedel wants one WR Well nomination season. We have the Golden Globes out earlier this week, and then we have the SAG Awards Screen Actors Guild Awards. Gonna be kind of a strange season for the nomination because I don't know what the show's gonna look like. Certainly no red carpets or anything like that. Yes, there will be virtual, But sag nominations made a little more sense to letting me than the Golden Globes did, But here to sort it all out for us is Joe Newmark WR movie movie minute. Good Morning, Joe. How are you? Morning, guys? Yeah, it is going to be a weird your first ball. Of course. Everything is gonna be virtual. For the most part. We still don't know what the Oscar is gonna be like. But the Golden Globes gonna be doing it where Amy Poehler's in New York, I think and Tina Fey's in L. A. So they'll be sort of zooming back and forth. Or maybe cameras, you know, or cell phones that on the potential winners, and so if they win, it might be, you know, accepting live kind of thing. It's just a quick note. I think it's going to be interesting this year because it's gonna be almost a little bit like the year that the Oscars celebrated indie films. Remember that back in 1996 when it was movies like Shine and Fargo When things like that, that sort of got a lot of attention and Billy Crystal famously said, You know who are all you people because they weren't Hollywood royalty on. I think it's gonna be a little of that this year. Because all of these things you know we'll have streamed very few of them if any premiered in theaters on so right saying makes a lot more sense and Golden Globes, of course, But you know, that's like 95 foreign journalists voting for those things. Where is the Screen Actors Guild is from people in the industry. And so that makes a lot of sense. So let's just jump into that. You know, I think that the the the Sehgal Wars has got a good sense of what what people really saw and what they liked, And obviously there's a There's a sense of the Golden Globes kind of lost. You know, the nominee a lot of black lead films. In fact, none of them the five blood did not get nominated. Where is it did at the at the SAG Awards? And ah and Marines. Black bottom came out. Really, You know, strong on top. Chadwick Boseman got nominated for best actor posthumously. Obviously, he also has nominated best supporting role 45 blood, So it's It's gonna be an interesting sort of here. What did you guys think? Is you read those? Those SAG awards? What jumped out at you? Well, I think it was so different the job than the Golden Globes because the Golden Globes was lily white and of the five nominees for best film at the SAG Awards for them. Well, at least three of them were minority and the fourth one involves the Korean story. So it was. It was very diverse. That's right. That's right. In fact, four out of five the only one that's not in the trial the Chicago seven, which is a great film at night, and that's also another thing, which was kind of Netflix has gotten, you know a really big boost this year. This may be the year that they end up winning an Oscar after a couple of Europe strong years because all we're looking at the SAG awards and looking even at Golden Globes. You've got a lot there. But right for the five Bloods, Marini's black bottom all great choices. Minori is really strong through the people that movie that people may not know about minorities. They're really nice films A really strong Minori is about a Korean family that's living in Arkansas. They're immigrants to Arkansas and trying to fit into the community, and the father is played by a terrific actor named Steven Yeun that people may know from the walking dead. And the grandmother who's in there who I think is nominated, actually for AH, Sag Award for best Supporting actress is really fun. She's a She's sort of this live wire. She's really Sparky, this old woman who's kind of always giving, you know kind of inappropriate advice in some ways, and it's really kind of a fun a fun character. It zah fish out of water movie, which is really, you know, obviously, it's always a popular thing, but it's really interesting. It's interesting about how how different cultures kind of assimilated into really nice. A nice drama One night in Miami is also another one that people have been talking about it got nominated at at the SAG Awards is directed by the actress Regina King, who got a NASCAR for a fields. We could talk and not watchman and a few other things, and that's based on a place about a night in 1964 that Muhammed Ali, then cold caches. Play, of course, uh, Sam Cooke, Malcolm X. And, uh, and the football players seem to be actor Jim Brown get together in a in a hotel room with a sort of celebrate. Uh, cash is Clay's win over Sonny Liston, and it's a great drum. It's really terrific. Leslie Odom, who was in Hamilton, uh, got nominated for best supporting actor for ladies. He is It's really a terrific felon that's nominated for best best drama. A to the organ. I'm fumbling story at the SAG Awards. Yeah, these are all really terrific movie that people just seek out. You know, I was kind of sad that my friend Franklin Jello was overlooked at the Golden Globes. I thought he would have been perfect nominee for a supporting actor to move because he's so good and the evil judge in the trial, the Chicago seven Totally agree. And Eddie Redmayne would've been great in there, too. But I actually thought Franklin Jell O would have been really a terrific choice. Sasha Baron Cohen. What a year for him. Obviously, the you getting supporting actor nomination for trial in Chicago seven for playing Abbie Hoffman. But then Bora and had a really strong are really strong, showing its best picture, musical or comedy. It's in there. Maria Batalova, who's hilarious, and it is in there is best actress. You know, it's really an interesting year. Because a lot of these movies are the movies. You wouldn't expect it to get nominated things like Palm Springs, even which is terrific. The sound of metal actor named Riz Ahmed, who's terrific, and there is best actor in a drama You Place a heavy metal drummer who's going deaf, and that's a really, really strong movie because it really kind.

Andrea Zuckerberg from nine or 20 No. She's the union president, and he wrote this letter and said As such this letter is to inform you of my immediate resignation from SAG After it. You have done nothing for me, and the union responded with a short statement of Thank you. So he's not part of our union anymore. Nope. See you later. Want nobody was paying induce. Oh, because how much sag after work Was he doing of of late? Not that much, if any, right? I do, sir. The same doesn't know they there's a base deuce and then depending on your earnings, they go up. Two with her, And then there's a cap. Yeah, but the cap is you're right. But the cap is not very high on. You know, it's what a couple of $1000 maybe a zit cap, so it doesn't matter if you're earning. $50,000 you're paying the maximum or $80,000 are paying the maximum and and if you're making $2 million, you're still paying the same $2000 maximum. The cap is very low. For example, like social Security, you've got a cap of $130,000 that you pay so security taxes on And if you make $130,000 you're paying your 4.5 for 5% or whatever it is. Well, if you make $25 million You're paying for it a half 5% on $130,000, and it works the same thing. So it doesn't matter Once you've reached the cap, which is very low, by the way, relative to the well depends on whether you're working or not, and people that are in SAG AFTRA. The vast majority of members make virtually nothing. It's true you've got 80,000 remember mindedness? No, but I know we're employed. It's a union show is not gonna be able to do it, That's all. Yeah, and before you can apply to rejoining, right, you could do not. You do non union shows. You can't. I think if you're a member of the union there, you have to have a union shows a matter of fact. Being a member of the union is even more limiting your probably freer and have more opportunity to work if you're not a member of the union. Since since the union has contracts with all of these different things that basically require those producers To use union people. If he were to get a gig on a union show. They would have to take him back, right? I don't think so, because they would if he let's say he comes to work. OK, if I He has to join the union under the Under the contract that sag after has with the station. Like I said Snow, winding around three PM with the high of 30 tonight it's going to get real cold and dropped down to four. Tomorrow. Partly sunny, very cold again high of 10 and a low of negative to overnight. We could see wind chills in the negative 10 to 15 range Friday and Saturday. It is gonna be a cold weekend, so stay warm and it is currently 25 at my top 171. Okay, we're back. Looks like the SAG awards nominations are coming in as we speak. Saggy wagon. Fag Don't like the word sag. Yeah, it's generally a negative connotation, but For actors. It's a good one. These air tip typically held. Yeah. Usually in Hollywood. That would be frowned upon s. So they're typically held in January. 50 back to April 4th and the ceremony's gonna air on TNT and TBS. That's a good way to miss it. What? Five o'clock in the afternoon, Right? Here's a good one. "All right guys. So that is antonio's real on. I m b and so yeah i really liked your real so after i know some time is has you know you had those films or your stuff as i am and and i know you said you came out here for a little bit also just the canavan you were working on projects. Yeah yeah yep I'm working on the project as associate producer for shadows and project entitled the handler written in directed by michael rossi gary niger and is also the weekend before to now though did We have some other things that we want to share with. You guide And again i. We're talking about a couple of different points here. You know how to kind of promote yourself as an actor to maximize your i m b. All these things are going to help you get into sag Another thing that you have that is really nice. Is you have a actual facebook fan page for your brain with that upright right now because i think that Facebook page looks really really good. You know you have yourself lucid. As an actor writer producer and director and lover of crafts. So i think that's awesome. You know you have a really good following on here as well but you know. Is your facebook page. Got a lot of really great. You know reels on here. You're sharing information you're also be encouraging other people And i really really think that is great for you. Know an actor to have and because it's just another way to promote yourself and contrary something that people don't know is that facebook page. I feel like is a little bit easier to grow and share Is little more tracked wasn't even instagram is for actors. You know instagram import. A methyl like the facebook is just as important now. Something i want to also put you guys attention on is. He actually has his own website as well. So when you really wanna take it to the next level make sure you have a website. Answer hit i. Love is pretty simple. Bam you get to see his awesome headshot like right there in the middle. It goes into his bio You know american actor you know talks about some Main things that. He's been on like some amazon prime movies. Bijan abc nbc t. So these are all really good. Things got some photos trump some of these past productions that he's been in which is always a great band. I love onset. Pictures is shared a lot of those myself on my social media and when people see that you are acting engaged in your crap after like they really you know as good you know you know keep up to awesome work of not just you know being A great actor but also promoting yourself as a business. Because i think that's where a lot of people kind of miss the boat sometimes. And i think that you probably have has more information you can share. That is some people think. Oh i'm going to be an actress on the actor and then they just go to auditions than just wait for everything to be handed to them. You know but he's just doing what you're doing which is promoting yourself definitely definitely Promotion is needed. You know you have to promote yourself and As much as possible much as you can but don't overdo it. You know what i mean. You have people that will constantly constantly post You got to give people some mystery allow for them miss you and as you continue to work in Put in the work. You'll work will speak for yourself. So that would be my best advice mainly when i'm Posted on social medias and things like that as far as my main page my goal is always make sure. I have something to offer as a post may be a project whereas encouragement things like that but for the most part i wanna make that. I'm keeping the needle forward. So i'm constantly Figuring out other ways that i can promote myself as far as being an actor so it may be again act into tornadoes. Probably tips things like that. So nice nice yes. Soju is so important on now. I wanna go ahead and show some stuff that I really wanna share with them and so exciting for those of you. Who are watching this on youtube. Able to see all of this Right here on youtube in for those of you. Who are out this podcast ahead. We have time and hop over youtube and take a look at his own projects that are basically wraps but are going to be coming out soon. I picture in this series of photos. We want to share with you guys so tell me what's happening in this picture. All about this film that you produce This project i didn't actually produce is on. I'll dishes for this project. Entitled lakers is produced by scanning kofi out of these actually currently aleksei right now and his team in which was the guy entry steph in his was a dp for that project But yeah that product's amazing the lead for that. Production is about my cat turning heyman so proud that is hilarious This is just You wanna tell me what's going on here. Yes Book a pilot out of new york. And as you see. I'm with michaels from while and out. So he actually created a project That i can't really speak too much right now but we shot a pilot for the new york went up to new york for a day. That was a great experience and It's a comedy Disagree show. Hopefully it picked up in. You guys see assume that is awesome. I all the best with that there. That really sounds like a really good project. That really good group. Did that can really really be like a game changer. To just give that extra anna boost so this right here this.

"That's when i got about a book just doing by performances in having that interaction with the audience and gatemen rapid response made me fall in love for art. Wow yeah you know because we've been following each other. I still have you my social media and stuff like that. I do see a lot of the places that you had done over years. Like you've been in a lot of stuff. You're very active as an actor. And i will definitely be my advice if people is to evacuate is what you want. You got it like stay in a constantly because it's always changing you know. The jobs are like we need people now. And that's it you know so you've gotta be very kind of like a go-getter it but with theater part was kinda like your favorite. Would you say you have a favorite Play that you've been in. Yes yes. I have I actually have a few so ruined by letting adage. That was an amazing piece that i did Nfl's point corner theatre still one of my top plays on that had the opportunity to perform in As much as i can. That was a production That we did here in baltimore That was a great protectionist It was a company new york and The came down and we're talking about the Lgbtq community in how the as hiv epidemic was affected here in baltimore's while jacksonville so primarily the cast were Almost actual guys exception of fee. But we all came together and collaborate tell the story and it was. It was a massive experience so the audience were able to really interact with us away. Like no so. That was one of the experience that i appreciate in. Just being able to see how their lives are Been homosexual men ray. Wow wow that's really interesting that's very. It's very cool. Very nice project on hamlet shakespeare which for the pandemic we did. Yeah wow wow that all of these took place in baltimore in baltimore maryland. Baltimore's at one of those places that they actually have a pretty good sized theater scene out there naxalite. a lot of people don't realize it and there's also a lot of historical Now historical. I guess i should say famous playwrights from baltimore and things like that. So it's definitely has like is brutes in theater and i feel like a lot of talented people have action come out of that area. Because of the different theater programs they have there and everything so Data very cool Which one you like. Better being oscar being stage. That's a good question I like them both for different reasons. You know what. I mean I love the a because you had the opportunity to become you know what i mean. Once you're on that stage in those lights on there's no stopping you have to follow through you have to go through and yet the Really really be engaged. That's where the real work is done. In my opinion Have an opportunity be amongst a gratitude of great great phenomenal directors and actors on stage. Every night is different. Every night is different. So that's that's one of the many many suggestions i would say we're gonna get into outer around michelle. You bring a game and make sure you are really really shop or you improv. Because any any night can change But for film. What i love about it is is for personal You know You have to go into a deeper connect because the audience is right there will no you have to make them fairly and for me. That's that's amazing itself. So i have two different Loves in respect for both but overall another stage actor or tv film actor. I'm just american like that. You know a lot of people they do say you know. This theater is by. I love i just like doing you know movies but that's really good and i like that because you know to be a good actor. I feel like you've got to be able to connor. Shreve meet some people may have their preference which you got gotta be able to own either one you know and i think that's what made people like Denzel viola davis Tyler perry what's made them successfully that they can't do you know and i do feel like yes. Theater is a really good way to get those really strong sharp acting skills in almost awaited kinda. Get outta be shy to is. I feel like they're right. Is people on set. And i know us dino to you could tell they still shy about acting in his like i feel like if they had that experience of being on theatre. Where is like everybody's staying right there looking at you it just forces of you get it together that that would be a good experience for people to have but i know that stagg has a different a whole different union for that but anyway So nowadays though you have transitioned into something even more different which is your producing your own stuff. Tell me about this. Yes yes. I'm producing now which which is A total different animal in itself Stressful stressful keeping one hundred keeping it. A hundred cross the bullet. Because it's like it's one thing just being an actor in heaven you know you're spy nor you know what you gotta deep but actually being a coach of the entire you know process. It's like oh my gosh something go wrong. It's like you got to agai- improv scale. You gotta hurry up for what you gotta do yet so Having that is is is great but the process will becoming a producer started. Because.

That every person gig on an interview like this. Why did you want to be an actor like what you know appeal to you. Why so honestly. I was one of those kids where you i watch. Tv and i was watching even stevens and things like that. So i'm like yo can try that. So join this program Called john casa blanca with not recommend fails now. Yeah yeah which. I don't recommend Primarily because it didn't give me the tools that i need as active But during that time in my life i was fourteen during that time other skills So have an opportunity added that in addition for short film that was written by friend of mine named corinne lee.
