"That gives a lot of contacts and you mentioned your parents were hippies and you're explaining this whole this whole hippie world you grew up in where did that originally stem from where their parents hippies as well or how did how did they get involved in all this? You Know My dad was. He he's kind of a rebel and his parents were professors, but they were also pretty liberal and pretty radical cold in that upstate New York. My you know my grandmom, you know was dating a black man in the in the in the forties. And she was I think the first member of the NWC P in up in Plattsburgh New York. I remember something my grandma she said if we're not talking about sex religion or politics. What the heck are we talking about? So they weren't hippies but they were pretty open minded they were. And really they empower my dad's dead going to college. He asked if they would help him by an old log cabin on a piece of land. In upstate New York and my dad ended up doing two years living actually in a teepee having every meal made on a campfire even through the winter and so he was kind of a back to the lander and. That was kind of what he gravitated to, and then you know that opened up into his exploration into spirituality and meditation. Meditation He you know has had many spiritual teachers over my whole lifetime our diet in our family oftentimes change base time what. The current teacher who was saying was. The highest in holiest of diets. But for the most part we grew up eating healthy plant based. Organic Foods Natural Foods unadulterated foods, simple foods, and my mom's actually the first business was called. I got into plant medicine and found a huge value of awakening transformation and love and gratitude in that. and. So you know I really live my life as like how can I? How can I be an expression of love kind of my personal mission statement is being the presence of love, my instagram love being Ryland, I've always since early childhood. You know it was like, how do I be a force of love in the world? That was expressed in on and I've always been someone who's building community around ideas. But what I do is I love building community around ideas of healing possibility wholeness. Health beauty connection gratitude on now. In healing of our of our earth that's kind of a lot of the context of might pass you mentioned landmark there in the plant medicine. I. Want to get into those. Extreme Binaries

"Hip. How you doing? I'm doing well. It is finally spring as in. I can go play in the garden up there in Vancouver Island think Ryland. Yeah things are great. The weather is absolutely gorgeous and same thing. I have been out in the garden. The the only downside the robins get up at like four in the morning and they're you know they're breeding at this point to the Chirp Chirp Chirp and so I have one that found the the the really likes the acoustics right outside my room and so I've been getting up at four in the morning and then I have to go and get up and I have to call the window and then I try to get back to sleep and then I can't get back to sleep until you. Ivan haven't been getting a lot of sleep because robin has been singing his little heart out every morning really loud right outside my window. So hopefully he'll find a girlfriend and get lost until then yeah. It's pretty funny but spring. I mean you can't you can't go wrong. That is awesome so we're familiar with regular binary stars two stars orbiting each other simple. Of course the universe has come up with every combination of things orbiting other things and this week we look at some extreme examples are Pamela solicitous. Figure this out. What is a binary star so a binary star is a announced that that needs plural because a binary system is to? Who'S SEPARATE STARS? So a binary star is a system that exists in two stars and they can come in just about any kind of combination of regular star. Compact object Advanced Star Baby Star and they form a whole myriad of different ways. They can either a rise out of a single collapsing molecular cloud where they clapsed into their individual solar system by side-by-side or they can gravitationally get caught up together through some activity in their advanced lives. So when you're looking at a system statistically it's most common that it formed like that but they didn't have to right right and we can talk about that later on but I'm sort of imagining. That's her standard formation gigantic cloud of gas and dust that swirling around and you get like instead of all polling into the middle it pulls into two separate like what are the dynamics. Why doesn't it all just turn into one big star in the middle? Why how can you get multiple stars orbiting around each other so you actually have to fragments in the same molecular cloud? Okay gravitate pulling together and it happens to be that these fragments are close enough that the orbit one another different facts can bring them closer and closer over the years but they formed from two distinct fragments in the same like cloud and the fact that molecular clouds is fragmenting is how we end up with separate stars so the fragmentation is an unusual. These two are close enough that they got caught up in each other's gravity. And so then the vast majority of these situations you end up with some amount of stuff like a stars worth amount or mostly a red dwarfs amount of stuff but every now and then you end up with an extreme amount of stuff. These are very large blobs of gas and dust. And sometimes you just end up with two regular blobs that interact in ways. That are extreme. So we talk about extreme binary stay. We're GONNA talk about a whole lot of different combinations. So it's not just necessarily the amount of material that went into the star and the rain that it took but in fact these stars can interact with each other in really weird ways and 'cause really bizarre effects that we can see okay so so let's sort of break this down. Then when as you define extreme then we've defined binary to stars orbiting each other and start can be all kinds of things so let's define extreme. Give me sort of Sirte classifying. The kinds of extreme things that can happen so so when I'm talking extreme events I I am talking about things that radically 'cause upheaval. In the life of a star that could only happen because this is a binary system that any singular star with not undergo these kinds of well really bad millennia

Should States Be Allowed To Declare Bankruptcy?

"Many states are facing severe financial shortfalls because of the corona virus outbreak several Republican leaders in Congress including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have suggested those states declare bankruptcy but federal law prevents states from doing that Kentucky public radio's Ryland Barton reports that McConnell's cash strapped home state is especially vulnerable Kentucky was struggling before the corona virus it's entered years of escalating budget cuts that go back to the two thousand eight financial collapse and now almost a third of the state's workforce has filed for unemployment this is led to a massive drop in income and sales tax collections which make up more than three quarters of the money Kentucky brings in every year democratic governor Andy Beshear is one of many governors who say they need more financial help from the federal government during the pandemic if the next Kerr sacked package does not include budget assistant for states and counties we will be hit with a rough for recession it will last longer and it will be harder to dig out of Kentucky senior senator Mitch McConnell doesn't support adding more money to prop up state budgets at least not without changes changes like letting states filed for bankruptcy here's McConnell on the Hugh Hewitt show recently I would sort of imply rollout that is the is the bankruptcy route if you save some settings and there's no good reason for it not to be available but cities counties even school districts are allowed to file for bankruptcy just not states that has always been the case for the entire history of the United States that's northern Kentucky university law professor ten captain he says Congress could pass a law allowing states to file for bankruptcy but then states would have to pass their own laws allowing it and then it would likely be challenged for violating the constitution's contract clause the main reason is that because there is so that states shouldn't be able to pass laws to relieve themselves of their own death orderlies the deaths of private debtors bankruptcy will allow a court to restructure a state's finances the biggest example of a city declaring bankruptcy was Detroit in two thousand thirteen as part of that process the court required city retirees to take a four and a half percent benefits cut and give up cost of living adjustments university of Pennsylvania law professor David Skeel says states should be allowed to declare bankruptcy he says it would allow sacrifices to be distributed more evenly absent bankruptcy who is the ticket yeah yep there's financial distrust of the state yes beneficiaries of state services president trump has weighed in on Twitter asking why should taxpayers bail out quote poorly run states like Illinois the couple has since softened his suggestion that states be allowed to declare bankruptcy saying it would have been optional and most wouldn't have done it anyway but with so many states struggling it's still an issue capturing attention from state houses to Capitol

Did a powerful coach groom his talented young runner for sex?

"The problem at the heart of today's story an ugly one but it's not particularly unique. A grown man in a position of power allegedly uses that power to groom a young woman. I as a friend and as a partner and finally for a sexual relationship if there's one thing the past few years of these stories should have taught us. It's that this scenario happens absolutely everywhere. But what happens when the story goes public? That varies wildly depending on the world in which it happens in large companies and big industries by now there is a process or at least there should be even in smaller companies. There's usually a structure of some sort in place in the tiny insular world of Canadian long distance running though there's not much of that to speak of and the allegations that landed in a national newspaper almost two weeks ago have exposed just how badly some oversight is needed in these small communities almost two decades ago now a promising young woman met a notable coach and the story went the way these stories sometimes go and nobody talked nothing was done until it hit the papers and now at tiny world of Canadian long distance running has been blown wide open and nobody knows what happens now I'm Jordan Heathrow. This is the big story Michael. Dale is a freelance journalist for this particular investigation. He worked with the globe in Mail. Michael Hi how are you doing? I'm doing well. You performed quite a deep dive on a problem that I don't think a lot of people even knew was on anybody's radar. Why don't you start by telling us who's Meghan Brown certainly Megan Brown? Actually if if you're a fan of track and field and Canada you may remember the name because she was a bright star Ten fifteen years ago. was better apex or career And she started off as a high school genome. She ran very briefly with a club called. Speed River Track and Field Club in wealth and also briefly with the University of wealth before moving on to the University of Toronto. She had some success ultimately she didn't become an Olympian or the next great Canadian distance runner And my investigation in part unearth. Y happened or why it didn't happen in the same vein than on just so we have the two characters upfront. Who is Dave Scott? Thomas Dave Scott. Thomas is or was until very recently arguably the most powerful individual and track and field in Canada. He was a coach at the University of wealth which is a powerhouse program and track and field only rivaled with US schools and he also had a speed river track and Field Club in wealth which had a number of Olympians that ran Ran With him at the club over the years and developed an unimaginable amount of talent there and he was a national team coach so he coached And the two thousand Sixteen Olympics as well so in a relatively small world in this industry in Canada he was one of the bigger names. He was an outsized figure for sure. I mean I one coach said to me. He sort of like a Scotty. Bowman type figure. He's a an empire builder on a lot of different levels But I would argue that within the cloistered world of of Canadian track and field and distance running. He was even much more powerful than that. So let's start by going back to the beginning and tell me how Meghan Brown Matt Dave Scott Thomas. It all started in the fall of two thousand and one when. Megan was a sixteen year old kid and she was very new to running. Suliman wearing a couple of years. Her Mom had died When she was a teenager and she discovered running after her mother's death in part a coping mechanism and she won the junior race at the Ontario Cross country. Championships that the high school championships which is a pretty incredible feat for someone running and Dieskau. Thomas saw her. That meet identified her as the up and coming feed on that she was. I suppose luckily for him. She happened to be a local kid. She was from the farm community outside of wealth area so he in the weeks after her win went to her high school and recruited her there at that time when she is sixteen and he's recruiting her. How big a deal was he. Then would have been like being recruited by Scotty Bowman at that time Not Quite but he was definitely an up and coming force certainly locally it would be a big deal Guelleh was At the university level was developing as a top flight school and his program that was sort of attached to the school. The Speed River Track and Field Club was becoming a known commodity in the running scene and he was attracting some talent but this was at the very beginning the building stages and he's a very charismatic figure. As well he you know. He offered her an opportunity in a situation for her to grow her talent. And obviously it was you know in the community so she and her father who is a a widower. The time trusted Mr Scott Thomas to take care of their daughter. She spoke to you in a lot of depth for this story. What does she say about their relationship? Their working relationship in the early days. I think it was Positive and then it became very intense. Very quickly They develop you mean by intense while the very quickly started spending a lot of time together and time not just in terms of after school when he's coaching around the track but even after that and according to many of the athletes that I spoke with that were present at that time while she was still a high school kid training at speed river they would disappear off in the car they will go for drives And as Megan told me later in our interviews He would take her for tea and they would spend long periods of time talking about a started off talking about running and then it very quickly diverged from that talking about each of their emotional states in his as much as hers and then e. Mail started Phone calls this is at the during the early days of the cell phone right so megan actually had a phone was kind of Sarab tissue going out and you know are up in her room or out on the road talking to Dave Scott Thomas while he was staying late at his office in the evenings. What do we know about what the people around this relationship thought about it? so far you've described stuff that I think would raise people's eyebrows but Perhaps not crossing particular line. The first problem is is that there was an incredible amount of blind trust given a day. Scott Thomas he started the program at the University of wealth it was nothing program by all accounts And he built it from nothing to quite something and later on to an incredible program And because of that he had unilateral power. It wasn't a whole lot of checks and balances going on university and put in place and parents trusted him as well He's sort of report himself to be a family man. He has daughters. He was married guy in his late thirties at the time. So there was a lot of trust built in their students Athletes in the in the club and athletes at the university Told me that they definitely. They started to gossip. They they definitely saw something going on but they're kids. They're they're teenagers. They're eighteen. Nineteen twenty years old others. A lot of jealousy actually Many many athletes told me former athlete told me that they felt a great deal of Chelsea towards Megan because she was occupying all of all of their coaches time. Right but the thing is is that Dave. Thomas gave her that time that attention so it was definitely a two way street. That was going on. Where did that lead in the fall of two thousand two? The speed river team led by Dave. Scott Thomas went in an RV and drove out to Moncton for The National Cross Country Championships. A Megan was the only teenage girl in the group who was a lot of like university students that were going out and you know it was a really fun time for her. She was very excited. This is the first big trip for our She's a pretty naive kid as well and she ended up winning that meet. She won that the national junior title. Which is a huge deal and meant that you'd be going to a world championships the CA- following year and that night after winning title instead of going out with friends her teammates and celebrating She went on a drive with Scott Thomas in that. Rv She alleges and That's when he approached her of with the idea of a relationship he won't. He was kind of probing her for how she felt about him emotionally and sexually as well and shortly after that a sexual relationship again between the two of them and she was seventeen years old. He was thirty eight so the topic. At least of the relationship is broached right after her biggest victory so far and and what should have been the first of of many. What happens the weeks after that according to Meghan Will shortly after that after they come back from the National Championships in Moncton Her and Mr Scott. Thomas actually go for a trip alone in his car. T. FROM WEALTH TO TORONTO. A day trip they went to the the ROM. The Ryland Area Museum Museum and in the exhibit somewhere He kisses her and then later on that evening they drive back to wealth they go to The Arboretum which is large forested area owned by the university where he actually trained as athletes. And that's where they they had Megan's first sexual encounter in her life in his car and She says that she felt it was an ultimatum. that he gave her before they had sex. Which was that either heavy relate sexual relationship with me or You're going to lose everything that we built. Of course she chose the former. I think she realizes now that consent was not possible at that point in her life based on her age based on the the power dynamic that existed between the two of them So from there on in there was a A two year secret sexual relationship That they maintained until she was a Shortly after she joined the University of Wealth As a student athlete. How does that kind of thing happen? And I think this sounds like kind of a stupid question because we now hear about this kind of thing happening often but how does something like that happen? Within a relationship that has so many power dynamics involved and nobody around it does anything. I mean you mentioned. They might not have known about the romantic aspect of the relationship that you mentioned that her teammates were certainly aware. Was anybody else involved with the club or the university aware that this was going on. I mean this is a debate. That's kind of turned the running community in Canada. Too Right now which is Those that were a part of the University of Guel for Speed River Track and Field Club at that time. Either as coaches or athletes.

Summoning Bloody Mary

"The Encyclopedia of Urban Legend. So there is such. An Encyclopedia describes a formula for summoning the spirit of bloody Mary. Perhaps you heard of this myth. Our team of urban legend riders set out to determine once and for all if the legend of calling up bloody. Mary was fat or fiction. The process for bringing forth the spirit goes something like this. Teenage girl stands in a dark room with a large mirror only illuminated by candles. She holds she chance. I believe in Bloody Mary Thirteen Times or until the spirit makes its presence known. Now remember my Wednesday gas shower. Bauer deals with spirits and talking with spirits from the beyond the veil. And I'd be curious and I will be asking her about this myth or mystery or team found that most of the rituals were performed in a bathroom. The story of a nineteen eighty-eight CO edited a small Washington State. College put the Urban Legend Riders. So the correct state one graduate explained how her roommate tried out the ritual for fun and ran screaming from the dorm bathroom. Shaking and Pale genuinely terrified. Her clenched fingers covered in blood. Our intrepid riders were intrigued by the story but wanted something more recent the day before they were to return tonight. I will sound studio with a finished script. Team Leader Ryland. Anderson was contacted. It was during a sleepover with six other teens. Who took the dare and stepped into the bathroom lights out with only a candle. Ashley said she wasn't sure of the incantation so recited I believe in Mary. Thirteen Times with ease. Recitation turned to circle when she came around to face the mirror for the last time the face of a young girl wearing a bonnet was sausage curls eyes darting from side to side as if walking for something or someone nearly filled the mirror the head shoulders appear to be bobbing up and down in an amber liquid. The event took place just before family left the area. The previous summer and the group had sworn each other to silence. Ashley's parents knew nothing of the event but her father Roger Pelton was an amateur historian and explained the history of Aurora village that might account for the image in the mirror bobbing internet or liquid. He told how the small Washington State village of Aurora started out as a colony led by Prussian born Taylor William Keel. Hockey News Releases Its '100 People of Power'... Only 4 Were Women

"Look at the foibles PERV Curva lease and mistakes that are made in the hockey media like for example forgetting about all of the influential women on your influential people at hockey. The hockey news put out. It's annual People Power Influence in the hockey industry list. It has a hundred people on it. Ninety six of them were men a There was also a top fifteen media the head. One woman on it. That was Cassie Campbell Pascal. Who's also on the top one hundred list? There was a list of fifteen fifteen non NHL executives somehow. Danny Ryland didn't make that list despite being the Commissioner of the National Women's Hockey League Jayna Hefford also do not make the list it is. It's stunning to me. Like the women that made the top one hundred list were Campbell. Pascal Hillary Night Kim Davis of the NHL and and Hayley wickenheiser maids list. And you think about all of the people that could have made that cut. Here's one that absolutely absolutely stuns me. They have Terry PA- Gula at like number thirty. Something and Kim Gula who if you ask literally anybody buddy within the orbit of the Buffalo Sabres who runs the team. Why it's Kim Pula doesn't make the list you know? Alexandra mandrake you. Who've who've the Seattle franchise hired basically straight away to be their analytics? Group does not make the list. PARV underhill skating. Grew credited by so many people people in this league for improving there game does not make the list you'll to Grad of the NHL. In charge of concussion. Stuff does not make the list like I understand that the immediate default a fall argument is well when you went to quota. I just want you to expand your view beyond every you know dude. WHO's a CEO dude who's the GM dude who's an owner and just default setting to those people being on these lists? Because you know what. Guess what I was on this list. It's a nonsense list. You could literally put uh-huh anybody on this list if you wanted to but you chose to put four women on it out of hundred. That's crazy. Yeah you said you were shocked by Eh. I'm not I think this is a reflection of the views of women and women's hockey particularly. Because you mentioned you know Yes yes Danny Ryland should be on this list. Yes Jayna Hefford should be on this list there. The two women who essentially are figureheads guiding this really tricky landscape of women's professional hockey. Not Right now but this is just how we view women's hockey this. This is how it is. The institutional bias that comes from media comes from other areas. And look were you and I are both guilty of it as well. I don't cover women's hockey as well. They should've I. I'm sure you feel the same way. But the fact that they can't even be recognized like this shows the uphill battle that we have to yeah and the biggest the biggest failing for me. And when we're talking I'm really admit those that I cover it more much more from the perspective and from maybe the the personality perspective that I do the actual casual gameplay perspective on the meaning or as guilty as anybody of knocking the indicate shell a certain level of credibility if I just kind of you know covering it from a what does this mean for women's Women's hockey and here's an interesting player story kind of aspect versus which team is actually leading in the standings. That's that's that's obvious But again like like hundred people on your list and four there were women like there is ample and it's not even it's not even like you know should we force somebody on there to know. Oh there's people that are evidently qualified. You put Don Cherry on the list as a person power influence. He lost all his power and influence this year ear. Congratulations on the hockey

Maybe one of each maybe guys can have like three could adopt one and you can have yours and then but then my fear is like what a shame is more attached it like I have three animals and I love them all equally and in different ways so I think it probably. It's weird to compare human and I think it would be but I don't know what if we only had one one of mine and they felt so much that I don't think it's very complicated. It feels unfair to be gay. Not Be able to. I mean there's so many kids that need in home so that's wrong to say but I think something that is so special is bringing a child into the experience that I'll never get to have let me these stadium but I mean we'll be very fortunate it to give somebody a good life for sure and I feel like I feel like it's like you got your baby because I thought that you because I I don't know if I could ever have kids I don't get pregnant naturally and so people are like well you can always do and I'm like no WanNa want that. I wanted to be able to do it but at the same time I feel like end of the day. If it's meant to be your baby it'll be your baby. I mean again. I adopted my dogs and I love. I love him so I don't think you're secretary. I think you guys are all uniquely you okay. Are you going to perform. Oh No I watch your music video and I said Oh. You're lucky really good. I didn't think you'd be good at like performing. I don't know why you don't treat me as the person but you are. Are you really good. I mean I had a lot of help. I mean there was a lot of performers like your performance was like it was it was short. It was like a minute and a half but I was performance as good. There was a lot of work and I and I guess with everything You never really understand how much work goes into something until you embark on it yourself but creating a song and a music video and releasing it is a lot of work. Yeah you've right it you have to record it you have to come up with. It's a lot of work so you doing. That is like often crazy. I I have a Lotta help too. I feel like I just have a production company. Do it would you do it again. Would you do more are you. I WANNA do. I WanNa do another song. I think you'll be fine. I think it's just so good I'd like to me. I really you watch that one like especially around Christmas time. Yeah nobody your 'cause it was it's so good and it just makes you feel good giveaway just making you feel good in your videos. I watch videos and like it looks so happy. Happy all the time. Listen but we don't film every like it's not like I'm filming every day. One day out of every eight days gotta figure it out though. I think do that you just film once and then I don't get burnt out. Well you you also loved film so I can't stop for sharing my opinion. I'm like Oh there's drama insert it may self into it you know. I live for those when there's drama going on and you're when I ever do launch my podcast. You definitely need to be one of the rotating guests to just give your commentary latest. It is things just I love it. I said the PODCAST. And what else is coming up for you besides wedding podcast obviously plan the wedding. We've and and then my channel is obviously the priority in trying to get the podcast off the ground. It's hard yeah I I think I took like two years to finally the right podcast company. 'cause it's like you have to find someone to get you like sponsorships and like I don't know how this works and I mean you have an awesome set now to aid you did this. Yeah I did it myself I just really wanted to Oh cute. I know 'cause I love like Howard Stern and I love. Shane sat and I love having with it so I watched like a lot of people. Like Nikki Lima only for any on. They have the same kind of just change out there like it's cool but it's like I wanted my own thing and this is fun because it's in your house. It feels more intimate. I feel like it's more fun to talk here instead of a studio. Yeah what's going on. It's a little too much. Yeah I like it too. And it's like if you've been to my hobbies even households like cozy and killed. That's beautiful. Well thank you this violet like this has been. I'm not kidding like the funniest interview I've ever done because you're so good at hockey. I hope I hope everyone wasn't bored. I don't that's the thing I think in my head to off I'm just talking. They're probably bored. So if you're made it there's far not having no you're absolutely like this is so amazing because you just have no. I didn't notice because you're always like very low key at your house. You know. So it's really liquid like you're all these things you have so many opinions. This isn't like I don't know you know and I love that you just I love that you just share to sharing gets mad at me a lot because he says that. I play devil's advocate for everything. I'm like no no. I just like to see every side so good though about like hosting especially type show because like you'll be like the Whoopi Goldberg. Well she's a little like a balance to see every reside and that's what I think is very important. Yeah that's what I love you up to hate somebody on the panel. Love somebody on the path but then that's also what scares me because people are so brutal. Yeah Yeah but that's how you make people like like love the scandal. Then we're talking about scandal. People do love scandals. I mean I wonder if exciting looking back scandals scandals and killing almost kind of exciting like I hate in the moment but like looking back in like Kinda cold. I mean you guys are pretty scandal free right now I mean I mean I haven't really had like a mainstream stream scandal but I mean everybody that I look at. It's I mean it's awful but I think in the long run like I know people more intimately because of Hannah and like Logan Paul and that's what you know them. Well thanks so much guys follow violet. "And you're getting married this year. Yeah we started planning so I think I think we have in mind what we're going to do. We have to sort it all out. Have you talked about it at all or not. No just stick over this Christmas break. We kind of just figured out. What are we going back and forth on different ideas and it's really hard because we feel like we both are? We hate weddings. We both really hate weddings. Yeah Ah but we feel like we want smaller ceremony but then how do you not invite all the people that you love and everything and then we want to have a bigger party where it's an open. Because I mean being on youtube and chain being on Youtube for over a decade he knows so many people. How can you not invite all of these people so we have to kind of merge the two of having bring something intimate and then having a party but not making it feel like a wedding because we both hate wedding just like a party? Yeah is it like. Do you know like any of the day like summer winter. I don't know well no we. Haven't we've talked about either. It's either going to be fall or different date. But we haven't follow wedding long because summers too hot and or anything so I think it needs to either be sooner or later opened. We got like now like February fourteen. Valentine's Day can you love to get married. I would then like the whole world celebrating right right wedding anniversary which is kind of fun. I think that's cool. But you're just a random date. Yeah well as soon as we can get. I don't know we'll have to. We finally think we know what we WANNA do. We just need to execute now and they're going to hire planner and all that I think so. I don't think you have to even like my little parties. Higher planner is only. Do it like it's just easier. Yeah and weddings are so. That's the thing is people turn into monsters around wedding just because it's so stressful. They cost a lot of money. It's like an I don't WanNA GONNA be stressed at all. I wanted to be fun. I wanted to day that we remember as the best day of our lives. I don't want anyone to be stressed. I want everyone to be drinking. I wanted them to be drunk during the FUN party. Heart is I love that. I think that's exciting for you and you guys aren't doing like a traditional like wedding or anything no I mean. We'll have like a short ceremony but I don't think it will be not like a wedding party. I don't think we'll have bridesmaid groups. I guess I don't know how that works me either. I guess we both have have rights me. I'd have bridesmaid. I duNNo. I guess we'd have girl. I don't know who knows we're probably towards more. Sounds like a lot of work do you. Yeah have you thought about what you'd wear anything I'll probably I mean yeah. I'll probably wear some sort of Tux. I really like. Well I like. Did you add. You probably haven't but that Timothy shower may one of his looks where he wore the sparkly. Louis Vitton blue suit pants. I really liked that. I want to do something to Tamminen. A lot of people are expecting that. I'm going to wear a dress and I'm like does the wedding dress. You Must WanNa wear like a wedding dress which is like everything. I guess I could do like billy puertas hybrid thing and I think that's necessarily good for him but I don't think that's for me. Your feminine stuff of is like more played up for Youtube because like in person. You never really late. You're never trying on so I don't know I feel like change little more feminine than you it just depends glosses and and now he's really into make up an I really like. I can't get behind having makeup on my face just because I feel like I'm GonNa break out when I have makeup really you just don't feel comfortable with it. do those videos that were easily dresses like girls and like because you look like the kind of like a body like I want to used to. Yeah it'd become like celebrities desirous oriented grounded but it kind of just ran out of celebrities like popping against now. I need to think of another one of those because I like doing the transformations. They're fun on. I feel like what do you feel like when people come for your like when they come for your like literally take your video idea. Do you feel weird or you just like. Oh that's okay. I'm trying to think if I've ever gotten mad about IT I. I don't think I could get mad because I take a lot of inspiration because I liked trends so I take a I tried to credit whoever's idea I do take a spin on on right so I don't think i. I don't think I mad when I don't know if people I've ever taken any of ice see people do. Yeah I feel like you started the whole like I dress I wore. Somebody's clothes as for a week. Threatened Oh that was I. Guess not copied by anyone. Don't mind I see it everywhere now. You're like did my idea plus and better. I mean she didn't different spent. I mean it's not directly. She does like we slopped swapped like mine. I always like go to the person's house outfits for the week and then wear them different days they like style swap next to each other. And so it's different. I mean it's just a different. She maybe hurried is better. Some of them are really popping what I watched her video that literally just like yours. It's like Oh that's interesting. I mean people like literally steal. Everyone's ideas saw him whatever. But I always wondered if you have. No one's really ever copy me. I was like I don't know how it feels. Someone took my Adia. I'm at a place though where I'm like I don I feel like everyone's seen me in every situation. I've done a lot of clothing videos. I've done a lot of cooking videos. I've done eating videos is. I've done a lot of decorating video. What else do I do and I like? You can just redo things. But then like they've already seen how I how my my respond or react or engage in every type of scenario what joy just retire wedding videos. This is your one year to do it. I don't think I shot Eh. I Don Shame doesn't love. I mean Shane's never loved being on camera. He loves making things right. He's not the type that's like. Let's go make wedding. I yeah no I think he does it for you. You know we. We've got to do like a wedding cake taste At least that's so up. His Alley would love. I would love to days gig talking every in order to do that. And then maybe like I. I've never hired a stylist ever and I always wear workout clothes every day. Just because they're more comfortable even like coming today. I'm like what do I I would like to. Maybe like hire a stylist and see what that's like to have you. Do you hire silence smell. Because I don't trust them for my body type. I feel like nobody because whenever I did you get style for something. They literally pick out the worst clothing for me. I don't know if it's because I'm plus is like let's just put you in like a burlap sack but I don't like any other things people picked out for me. I did a photo shoot with paper magazine and never aired. Because they're transphobic. You shot that right before I was supposed to be in the break. The least get all my. Oh Gosh that would have been everything you're like. Can I get the photo so I can post them for myself. I came to my kitchen floor. They did like a whole aditorial shoe and it looks so cool. These fancy close on and stuff and I asked only youtube. We're supposed to be last year breath the Internet and then I came off the Trans video and he got I was like I and I wrote back to them and I'm like would you like to give a statement on. Why transport can you don't support my transition? Oh Margaret footage like behind the scenes photos. Here I wanted to post it and I was like. I don't want to get make an enemy of paper magazine. But anyways the whole point of that they had a stylist and like honestly honestly the clothes were cool. Because it's something I wouldn't have normally wear but it was ugly and that's what that's why I'd want to try right. I mean I wouldn't do it for everyday life but I think I hate shopping. I mean I like shopping but not close to shopping for our house and stuff. Your House is full of clothes. You hate shopping online. Didn't like Bhai shop on. I don't go out and like I hate trying on clothes. I buy stuff and if it doesn't fit I just throw it out. She was never a good day to go. TRY ON CLOTHES MKX. Who wants to do? I don't understand so then I just wear my workout clothes every day and then when I actually have somewhere that I could potentially maybe try to look for them like Whoa. I don't have any options. Yeah well you went to a wedding recently. Went to Safi as wedding. How was that it was a we actually got pretty short up like five minutes late and Soda Jenna and Julian and so we've got him on a couch area where we could kind of see but then we hung out with them for most of the night and got pretty drunk and it was fun? Yeah and would you wear too but would you wear to that you pick out something. Yeah well I have like basic dress clothes. That's not very fun. I didn't see any pictures of guys there. I think Shane posted well. They specifically had asked asked for everyone to hold their wedding photos and stuff till after their wedding was a while ago so I think Oh yeah. So they kept it a secret for a long time and nobody posted like none of their people that came to their wedding adding posted. So I mean everyone respect. I don't know why you wouldn't respect their wished. I don't know why you'd go to their wedding and they'd be like they got married. Here's a picture like people do that way. I've never GDP wedding. It was like everybody was posting her walking down the aisle and I was like was this like I mean. Obviously she was okay with it but it was so weird. I've never been to a wedding. Where like people post? I guess I don't now kind of weird. I guess that's the Yeah I guess when you're I don't I guess I don't know if I would ask that or not. Maybe because I don't know like when you went to to their wedding. Did you have any inkling to be like let me snapchat this no. I'm not very social right. I I don't normally take to my phone for things. I don't know maybe I'll get get better at that this year. It's probably a good thing living. No it's better. It's better to live in your moment. I guess I also like with Instagram. I never like. I'm always in my gym clothes. So what am I going to take a photo. Uh home shirtless picture. Gosh I did go through a phase but that's when I was still working at clever I don't know I think I think that was like a weird phase of my life where I wasn't successful yet and I thought I don't know why would do that. I have no idea I did. Don't like would like I would find photographers and go shoot with them. And now I would really ever do that. Was it for your career. Re trying to find the guy I don't know I honestly don't votive behind it. I guess I I have no idea. I love when people feel themselves. My favorite thing is like when people like do a full as photo shoot just us for instagram. That's everything to me. I think that's cool. I love it I just now hate. I'm fine on video but I hate. I don't like how I look in photos and I don't know how to like pose those photos. I always hate how my hair looks or something. Yeah because I have a receding hairline for sure. Oh Yeah it's like an IT's Kinda thin and change always like just go to the doctor and take care pills it maybe maybe shave my head again. And Rocco receding hairline. Oh my God you know feeling now everyone gets what those people talk openly those those hair plugs like. Yes but you watch those videos and I don't know if I could ever do. Have you seen those videos that they take the. It's like surgery while you're awake. They take strip from the back of your head so it together pick the follicles in implant them and you have like a bloody mess for days and days and days and then it does grow back act. Like a lot of people have documented them like Jeffrey documented. His gee-gee Gorgeous documented and every time. I'm just like skin crawl. I even wake for it. Oh I mean maybe if I get maybe I don't know if I don't know who knows maybe if I ever get a job or something I am sick of my hair line. I would do it I I can't see a break. If you see you never go back but I feel like for me. I WANNA get another. We've been asking a lot of work but at the same time like but it's content. So are you getting boob job. I was supposed. Oh Stu today but I my tonight after this literally my blood systems a little fucked up at the moments I'm not really allowed to go on. Arena St Jude at the moment. And why would you want another boob job. Lift them up get them a little perkier like they are. Perky House told me this guy I really like. He told me that too. And I was like okay me and bill because I like.

You won't want to Miss I. He's talking with Taraji. P Henson Star Empire about her career in film and television then tips the Dow with Mike Tyson for a no-holds-barred interview. That is both hilarious and informative be sure to subscribe on. podcast one apple podcasts and many other podcast APP so you can get new episodes every week. Um You to review what. I'm trying to think who I watch. I feel like I watch a little bit of everything I really do. Like whatever's I kind of click are. I want issue to belong to a lot. I'm trying to think who is my number one or I don't know who's your favorite. It used to be Zach I choice. He was here to we. Don't stand him anymore and he was here with Nicole. Yeah Kado Avocado Yeah. We don't stand Dan him either and so the fires have you. Have you made a video about. I haven't caught up with the drama. You guys are no longer number. Yeah I think I. Yeah Yeah I so tired of people treat me like a double standard because basically if you don't know the job at the same thing happened to Stephanie. To happen to me but I was like fuck you Trish go see nick but that she goes to them and everyone's like wow Nikki really feel uncomfortable and I was like this is such a double standard. It was the exact same situation. I was so sick of it. I was so pissed off. I was over all these bullshit. Fake youtubers or what youtubers are you friends with any youtubers anymore and poseidon literally at that. I don't hang out with any youtubers either not yeah. I don't think I have any. I'm I'm friendly with Youtube right and I I don't think hang out one on one with no you know. Why don't because the whole fake? That's why why it really is like I'm honestly. I'm like if you if I can count you and Shane Jeffrey as my friends. That's good enough for me. Honestly like I'll take it. You know what I mean like. Everyone else is cool. Like they're just gross. Ever a user. You know what I mean it is. It's very interesting world. That's for sure I've never seen anything like it's like people just want to know. People are flaky collaboration. They don't or they like one o'clock it's really. It's really weird. I don't know I I the whole thing is like we're doing and I also think just like position position and stuff. I feel like people just want to like get close and Jeffrey too. That's why even he had said something like Oh do merge with me and stuff but I feel like always weird. 'cause I don't WanNa be like all these people that just try and like get close for something I think if they're offering that's different. Yeah the merged thing with Jeffrey. Yeah I think I might take him up on that because I was like I feel like I just I just always wanted to be friends with someone and I feel like people are not like that anymore. They say they want to be friends with you but the minute you don't WanNa clap with them. They're like Whoa fuck you. That's what I don't reach out really to anyone one to Collab- because then I don't know I feel like Youtube isn't the way it used to be where you sit down and fill one video. Sit down the other. So then what if I feel a whole day with someone and then and don't WanNa post it. I don't know how I would express. Has It happened. No that's why I don't call within one I view with the operatic which worked great and then then I don't really know your sister will. Yeah but we kind of film. Every I mean we're in and out of each other's videos all the time but we're family so if I filmed a whole day with her and scrapped it. I don't yes you're not gonNA yeah. Yeah she and is she loving. Still Morgan Yeah. I think it's it's yeah. She really likes Youtube and she's really good. I mean she's good at both are really but shit I mean. I think it's hard for her to think through putting yourself out into a world where everyone criticizes everything because she does. She gets criticized a lot more than even me. Yeah and she takes it more personally than I do for sure I I remember. There was a weird drama with her in this like literally. There was no drama in the video and I said why is everyone hater like it was so weird like something about like teela done within the video or something like I think she had a disabled the comments and that that was crazy. I was with her. That was just because two done was the video for like two point five seconds so she got the hey and I mean it was more so hey on Teela but do it was an has always been really nice to mortgage so. I don't know why people bore so up in arms about using when honestly took Morgan all around to a so many different events that I introduced her to so many people so if anything like sh she he was being very kind to mortgage lucky because he has are like your own click. So it's like you like you don't need you know how people have like collaborate obviously the clouds with each other. Whatever I feel like you guys are lucky like built-in ten squad? Yeah obviously I live with Shane. And then my sister my sister and then we kind of have a squat Garrett kind of yeah I guess the way that ashamed films now I mean it used it for awhile. It really was Shane kind of did film squatty videos and now he's kind of deterred from that I mean for. Ah I think for good reason. I think his videos are. They have really become what he wants to do. He's excited about filming so much better that way too. If you're I want her excited about it like I think that's kind of like Burns is still love like filming myself eating. No one watches every I love doing it. It's all continue to just watch your spicy chicken. Sound from Wendy's. Oh God I was. Oh that was me on an alternate universe J.. Tell you know he didn't tell you. We texted the other night. I felt like he tells you these things like that. We're we're Gordon Alternate Universe last week and he felt. Did you feel about what I don't. What does it mean? Did you feel like a shift like that. You are in a parallel universe. Last week last week. I'm trying to think what happened. The last last week was the beginning of the New Year this week. It's been really weird for me because we ended up being in Colorado for so long we were there for almost three weeks and then my mom flew back with us. I just took her to the airport before this. I saw that I feel like vacation has been happening for three and and a half weeks and now I'm finally ready to. I mean it was so fun but I'm ready to get back but I feel like I haven't been stable enough to realize like some kind of shift. They'll yeah there was a shift I haven't been stable at all and that's why I told Shane. I was like Oh my God I literally was like. I don't know sometimes when we sometimes he's like just there on this nice but like he's like no. We were like in a parallel universe last last week and he says he's always told me I don't really I try to stay away from ghosts and anything that's like Out of this but I know I didn't finish. I was out of it. I was telling him I was like. I felt like I had vertigo. Your news is a lot of drugs. Drugs I'm trying to think I've done. I mean obviously. I've casually smoked pot and I think once in my life I tried coke. I did you. I was like one of the first years I lived in. La One time. Hated it I hated hated it. I always think I'm going to die when I just like and I hated when I was in college. My roommate's were always on coke and they were just. I hated their energy on coke. They were always just so scatter brained going from one room to another and I will not get on board with it so I don't even know why tried but that's the only drug. I honestly ever tried no adderall annex. I've tried to adderall. Wants one nine Vegas. When I was dead asleep trying to stay but I I guess ah I guess daily like those? Those kind of prescription pills are also a huge problem for their awful and I just I find it interesting because I always had this about you. I think for this in a blog. I don't know if you're very like I don't know what the word is very just like normal just stable like I work very hard to try to estate really like that is my ultimate goal like I'm very structured because having youtube as a job it's very unstructured and so even when I left clever I was very scared that I wasn't wasn't GonNa have enough to do or the I didn't have structure so I still like to have a routine and I make working out a very big priority and not even for fitness just to like mentally mentally reset. So I make I'm very what do you call it. I guess needy but what's the I just am very. I'm the word I'm very needy. I like I know what I need and I take care of it myself so I just make sure wherever I go. I'm I'm Fed because I get hungry if I'm I'm very needy but I take care of all my needs. Stay happy so you say stable. Because every time I'm around your even like your family goes to always it just seemed like you have it together and I'm a for me constantly my head I'm paradigm conflict thinking someone's about to murder me Salt Lake Alternate Universe and I'm like how do you not like. Have you live alone. See even even when Shane doesn't if he has to stay away for a night or something I have. I almost have to have my sister's sleep. There need to go sleep at her house because I feel like in a house scary scary scary. I'm always like talking to my monitor all the time I feel like a paranoid percents. Shane keeps me. I think having I would go probably mentally insane if I didn't didn't have somebody to just be there especially during crazy times. Is that like safety in numbers I think generally supporting you like mentally or physically. He's like you just feel better her which is probably why. I've always been unstable looking for loss. I know. No I'm over it. I'm Kinda over it. I mean I always looking for love. Love is kind of over it. So are you on any of the APPS though. Are you on tinder or bumble. No I kind of like someone at the moment. I'm kind of like trying to focus on that. Ah Long Distance. So it's weird. I don't know I don't know the guy that was staying with you I just like him. You don't have to know if he likes. I don't know I sound like I am twelve. I'm like I don't know if he likes me. I don't know we talk laugh it. It's one of those things and would you go super public with their relationship again. No not after fucking imposing that one picture down. Oh well I guess yeah back. Even I saw that was getting drama is like I don't like the public again. I don't know I say that but then I'm like like I I know what it is. I just love showing off that I'm like I'm fucking in love. I love that you know what I mean I read. I love that you can be honest about that. You have of something that you value. You WanNa show like a house or car. Anything that I can watch the house tour or anything you know but that's more security thing because I feel like if someone knows like I mean people know obviously where I live whatever but I feel like it just asking for us all your house. I was like a refreshing for your house tour as because all of your car drama which aren't smart not to show your house but some like house. Now I've seen it so I expect but I love seeing people's houses. I don't know why I'm so weird. I liked like to see where I love. How you're too? I never even did one last night. I will some pardon me sometimes like fuck it like. What am I going to live in fear my whole life? You know. Maybe as long as you don't show the outside side young people rent people doing that too. I honestly you can find it out there. It's like I'm really not that hard to find so I was like. Oh you haven't done one view we did when we first moved into your new house. We've lived there for like a year and a half an hour time flies. It really does..

"Just like hanging out and like yeah. He came to stay with me for. We're GONNA let supposed to picture like it's like what like not a big deal and like honestly the shed store that got so much. Hey I was like are you and so my question is do you not specifically to this enjoy shit storms or do they give you a pit in your stomach and make you want to pay. Well it depends. It depends like if I'm like if I'm creating it on purpose like I'm trying to think the last my created on purpose like maybe the the dogs have brains or something. I'm ready for the attention but I think the the the scandals this year I it gives me a pit my stomach like obviously obviously the transgender. One Game You put my stomach. This one game is such a bit my stomach because I was like I didn't do anything wrong. And everyone's game you feel like you're such a fucking horrible person and I was like Internet's crazy. I was like And that's why I feel like it's so hard and I feel like people that thrive in entertainment at least like like the Kardashians. I feel like they're in the news positive or negative every single I. I don't know how people live like that. It makes me sick because it makes you feel bad like I felt like a bad person and I was like but I shouldn't have to. It'd be it's it's it's almost the same. I'm trying to think of this like like in like obviously in Hollywood world like Brad Pitt Angelina. Jolie and Jennifer Aniston Urgent Franson but then I think that kind of I mean. You're dating Shane. Who dated a Popular Wheeler Uber? So why weren't people like. Wow how dare he date. Shame you know what I mean. Well I think I guess I didn't really get much hate for dating which is pretty shocking. Because he would be like. Wow you really like. I don't know lose eight no matter what. And that's how I I. What do you think well? I feel like you love doing you but even with how do you consume the amount of negativity and still find it in you to go forward because whenever I get a lot of hey it makes me wanNA disappear from the Internet. I'm at that point right now. which is why I really like the podcast because it's TV like you were saying how you want like a creative outlet after clever like a kind kinda like need a creative outlet? That's not youtube because I do. It's much everything. And she's like you're channels dying you suck. This is awful. I hate you all the time like chances. Like don't listen to that but at the same time it does affects you like well. You're like connick on Youtube. Everyone no matter what everyone's always GonNa think she's icon it. They I mean that's I guess. Good that's my one saving grace but at the same time it still hurts. Like I'm really like decreasing my view. I don't think that's true though it's fine. It's fine I really don't care about us but it is more like the comments where your treasure thirty one. This is like sad. People are so brutal and that's I think the hardest part about Youtube. Obviously how brutal everyone. There's no I just I don't I don't like it like I said like literally if it wasn't for like Shane and Jeffrey literally just naming a shadow after me then again they're like okay like Yo then. We'll like you Dan but they were ready to cancel me like so quick and stuff so I feel like people want. It's weird because I feel like people. Champion People Intel. They're doing to woon and they have to bring them back down. And then you'll slow up again until you have to be brought back down. I love the champion. I've never heard that champing. I guess I've been saying that alone. I like AH champion. Someone like you like bring them up really. I love that. I never heard that before. I championed champion me. I think you are can champ champion. May We did a popper which people I think because of that video call the Paparazzi now on me and I'm Hollywood fix. Yeah the Hollywood. You know he's this is out there. I mean he will text him. He'll come he'll come find us but he also he ever youtuber now he he'll pop up on my recommended all the time he's getting James Charles. Yeah I saw that. He hasn't something I think about like Shane or something are Geoffrey is he has me. That guy's awful though because he asked me like two weeks ago he's like. Are you still friends with like your the worst ever like what the fuck was. Yeah Hollywood fixes in his pre. That was fun. That was the first time I was like Papa Razzi with view and we like called them. I thought that was video. Yeah I did have fun making anything. I need more ideas. I and that's what's fun about Youtube is when you're really excited about the idea and you really go tackle it. I feel like you do that a lot with your music videos. Your distracts your production stuff. Then they flop and then yeah I get really sad I really actually. It was actually. I have a really good one coming up about like Anna Nicole. Yeah I really like I wanted to have we WANNA stay it. 'cause I don't WanNa like Oh jinx it but it's going to happen because I've been talking to someone about it and I really just want to like I don't know I really Siri literally everyone's trying to do like. Did you hear that. That mockby drama. That like someone wants to do is share. Sins documentary on with Banging Stephanie Sue. No you didn't know about that because we're talking about this earlier. The NICOT Kado thing and she had said she has set an attack. Jack we're GonNa do a shame style documentary on the Muck Bank community and I'm like everyone was pissed off at her. She's not Shane. I see a lot of people I mean I feel like he very much so did influence a new genre or at least something that a lot of people are trying to emulate his right now all the time. We'll see things that are popping up that are very much so ashamed style. A thousand percent.

"Area it was a lot more frequently parents would bring their on weekends? It was maybe every thirty minutes parents would come down and knock on our door and we would bring the parents inside and no. You can't do this. What are you doing? 'cause I just don't understand the mindset of thinking. I'm going to knock on this person's door and they're going to greet me into their lives with what what if I'm naked walking laundry or something or wherever you're going through inside your home that's so invasive I hate that so it's just literally I get pissed off like people would even at my apartment building and they would come and be like. Can you take a picture of Madonna. I was like no homeland public of right. Especially because what we do is outward facing a court which is not coming to an actual physical. How like you said you could be? Nicotine could be having sex. You could be having a fight like someone could you. Don't like fucking what it just blows. My mind oppose. Remind that people still do this like you hear about it all the time like people don't come to people's allying parents. Just say well when you have kids or if you have kids you'll know that you you do almost anything to make them happy. And I I understand wanting to make you laugh like brakes different because when I moved to Hollywood I'm also infatuated actuated with celebrities star maps. Yeah I would drive by but never in my wildest dreams I park again like ring. There buzzer at their gay or walk up to their dorm and knock on courageous. Because I'm the same way I love celebrities and I love them and even when I see them on planes I mean now I don't really go up to them but like I just couldn't imagine going up there because what do you think's going to happen. Like if I knew Brad Pitt's addresses address like why would I just go up there and be like. Hey It's me he'd be like fuck you like what the policy doesn't know your intentions. He doesn't just a fan. It's an either way it's not good autograph. Aubrey Knight said. You need your like if you don't have decompressing time where your legs as a youtuber. You're always on especially when you're out like you're always on and I think like I think it is like I never okay. No obvious. I'm sure there's any way you don't say no because you have to always be on because youtube is like such a blessed job like it's such a relatively easy job. I mean it's a fun job but like I don't know I think it's it's like you always owing someone a picture I feel like public but like at your house like Oh does not so bad as that's what that was like such A. Your graduation was really creepy. And weerden well. Did you ever or have you ever you allowed to talk about. Didn't you think somebody who's living in your apartment and I never talked about that and you know like I have footage too so I got got a ring doorbell for like the outside of my bedroom because I didn't know how to record this yet. No somebody was. I don't know if if he wasn't maintenance guy that would stay there at like two. AM come down and just like walk outside my apartment. That's too scary for me because I've been watching I've been watching. I'm not a horror type of person. I've been watching a lot of scary movies and you. Have you seen you the crazy. Then we're watching this show called creep which is also this movie called creep but the idea that somebody could be in your house while you're like the idea the of waking up to somebody hovering over your face is my biggest nightmare that happened to me. Last placed Leeann literally saw him like I made better and that happened to my old house. The Shiver company that creepy be place. I lived in like that really. I think you did with like in the hill yeah. I've seen videos Shane. Since your house tours of it because I weren't there people coming and breaking into yes and people were hovering over my bed like they were high or whatever but they were like hover people which was so weird. It was weird. I mean that one was like no Gate Walk Up. Whatever but yeah fuck that Shit? I have all these cameras and stuff now. I don't know I don't and it's not even like I think I'm like famous people I think with youtubers. They think you're so accessible especially like you. I an end. Shame you guys are so like very personable and like you know very nice. I feel like they just think they can come to your friend Argus. That's the difference between a traditional like celebrity. Is I think the job of Youtuber is to bring you directly into the life of people. Think that they they do know us better than they would know somebody later or something. So they think that I'll he shows his housewives to show up. What is the craziest? Have you had like a crazy. Dan Conner. I'm trying to think most people are pretty other than people showing like showing up to the house the worst in public. It's I've never had a huge issue shoe who's ever been like super rude or done anything crazy to me. Can you even go out in public. Because I feel like when I go out. It's bad but you enchaine are like a different level. I'm fine I mean people will stop me and say hi depending on where I go but Shane Shane's getting to a point and he would never I mean he is like the most anti attention person Attention wanting person in the world but it's getting to a point where yeah it's very hard to even I can't remember I told them like for the L. A.. Show is like come see you and I was like honestly honestly like I get like not coming because that's could you imagine I couldn't even imagine like I'm surprised at the mall of America one. Do you mean greets. I've never done anything anything like that. I feel like I'm I came into you but very different era than what has was originated on you today but no. I've never done anything like fairly well. That's the question to you is like. You're you're not really branding off like most people like try and brand. Do you have like no or you're doing something that you are. I feel like I'm the most like antisocial media social media person that because I really don't post on instagram or twitter very much at all and I post on youtube like once every two weeks but I don't know I think there's a maybe it's because I'm editing my videos and filming my videos and I'm with myself all the time but I feel like I get bored of myself so I don't WanNa put out there because then I feel like everybody else will get bored and you'll I feel there could be something that's like me. Go Up and down because some people get like I'm over saturating people so I feel like there. There could be something to that but but both of you guys are pretty like elusive like you guys. Don't really post that much. So will you really don't plus on instagram stories. Shane does and you don't feel yeah. I I don't know I guess I don't have too much to say I know I don't post that much. I mean I really do. I feel like I need an out. I don't know I feel like the channel I built for myself. Isn't I feel like if I just posted a talking video or Gossiping Video. People would be confused because that's not what they signed up to see see so now I feel like there's a level at which I need to maintain not even a level at which but I just feel like they're I don't know if I just sat down and talked they'd be like what is this. We really do a second Channel One day where I do just talking jail. I feel like you did us down talking like a while ago. All do turn comes around. I'll do the assumptions about like I like doing those. I just don't do them very often. It is going to transfer you always do the trends and like doing like so extra which they love. The trend has been a good one too. Why was that ordering what person in front of me I like to watch all of those? This no easy I ah six million views reach what I'd like. They're so fun I'm just waiting. which is so unoriginal? I think that it is hard to always and people. I see a lot of people say well. It's it's your job to come up with something original and creative and fun but I mean when you're living it and doing it it's of course you want to make something fun but there's like like ebbs and flows of creativity and you can't just force a fun idea out of your brain especially if you're in a row or something or even if you're like sometimes opposite it's like when you're really happy and in love sometimes like for me when I'm in love. I'm really bad with my channel like when I was in love with my last boyfriend. I like never posted 'cause I was like I'm just in love. I don't know I can't think of anything but I don't know it is hard you know what though like like you do. I guess I never knew this about you like you speak like really well and you speak a lot like you do have a lot to say which is so interesting that you wouldn't have done a longer format video. Oh Yeah I mean I one day in the future I will dabble again because my favorite thing to do like I love looking at what's trending on twitter and talking if I go to lunch with somebody or if I go to breakfast somebody that's probably what I'm talking about like shows that I love or things like that. I just haven't necessarily found the platform yet to nick. Maybe maybe a podcast like a solo. podcast I've been I've been I think if I did a podcast it would be well and I've been in talks for a while for podcast but I've been yeah I mean it goes a whole story but they they in spotify announced it but it's it's not there yet Europol a spotify we've been working on it for like six probably seven months but it's I mean the the whole the whole deal of it and stuff so we're not. We're not all the way there yet. We're not only only God. That's so crazy. Thought that I was like when I was preparing for this I was like looking at all your reasons office like. Oh he's like really good at talking. which is I think? A talent underwood's up like I know I have the talent of talking but like a lot of people do you. That's what I'm saying. I never met someone. I never really realised Dick. Nick has changed. Also such a talker and like personality so when we all hang out. It's like it's like there's just so many people talking but I feel like Oh. Yeah this makes sense for you because you have so much to essay which is even when you got here. We just talk nonstop. I was like Oh you have a lot to say which is good for our podcast with mine would be more like probably really dishing on hot topics talking like me and other people eligible bachelor. I probably have guests. But I'd want the guests to go in on the hot topics as well. I'd want it to be like like the view or the real but with hot topics and younger people and influencers and stuff like a rotating panel of people little terrier. That sounds like a lot of work. Yeah Yeah it's GonNa be a lot of work. Wow Fun oh my God that would be so cool actually Omega. I never even thought about this even like if you started out with just you talking for like thirty minutes. I'd be like that's good and then like bring people in like Chelsea handler of she had my favorite show ever. I loved her format. My favorite would you ever do that would you be like TV. Eighty hosting or now. I mean I would love eventually. That's what I want to do because when we I mean we want to have kids so when we have kids I've I've logged right now and I don't I don't want my kids too because if you have kids walking that's kind of what's there and I just don't think that's I don't WanNa be throwing and I know there's a lot of people that do some do it. Okay are a little On the line. But I think it's weird I think it's I think it's pretty weird and so I would never want my channel which is blogs to be my kids so by the time we have kids I kind of want want to transition into some form of talk. It's the best job in the world like a lot of these shows. They're really hard to get. But these girls on the real. They probably go to work four days a week. They go in for a few hours a day. They make a good paycheck they get styled they get people interaction and go back home. Yeah I thought Kelly and Ryan. We should do that. Yeah you're you're you're doing so well I wanted that SALGA problem now though is when I started I did entertainment news for almost four years. And that's all I was known for so I got to be like the Sassy opinionated gay guy and I would really push boundaries on my opinions ends on people but now I feel like most people know me from my channel and if I give my it's it's going to be very tricky to give real opinions without without. I don't know I feel like everyone. Everything's so under a microscope people. You can't say anything semi polarizing without getting so much backlash clash and he works. I literally went on a date with someone who's been divorced for like two years and his ex wife has like a new boyfriend and say okay. We were so mad you have you addressed it at all really. It's not. It's not a big deal but the weird how much pain I got. I was so confused it was like e news is I saw that and I was like. I wonder where you guys just having fun was it. Real wasn't for content. You don't want to sign every day for like we've been talking like dating. No you know I wouldn't say we're just like hanging out and like yeah. He came to stay with me for. We're GONNA let supposed to picture like it's like what like not a big deal and like honestly the shed store that got so much..

"It's people enjoy watching it more so now oh I don't put as much stress on myself if I haven't posted in a week and a half. I try to post every week and a half to two weeks with the holidays and everything I gave myself A chance to just breathe and hang out with family. That's good. I feel like I feel like I hope that works for some people with me. I try to do that. In December. I try to quantity over quality. No I tried. Do you quality over quantity distracts and stuff and I feel like track. Oh my God it was everything to all of the outfits. I thought the lyrics were very every night. Need to be doing a distract because it was so fun to watch so on trends like literally like two thousand Sixteen Wendy's is now like I remember you guys have district. Actually your guys ones inspired me. I was watching old videos and I saw you did boyfriend distracts and I was like I wanna do it track. I'm so late to the trend. But what's interesting thing about you that I don't think that I don't do. I would love to just kind of talk and I mean I think you're very interesting so you already have that going on you. But what's it's dangerous about that. What you do for me is that it really leaves a window for you to get in trouble because people are offended by every so I don? That's what I wanted to ask you as well too because I'm I comb through my videos probably ten times cutting everything out. That might offend someone. Because I'm so afraid food because people are vicious. They're really mean okay. Yeah your comments are a different level because I feel like there is literally nothing to hate on you for your video. There's your offensive like your. It's very like PG content so it's a what are the hey comments that you get the most well. I think it started the first time I experienced hate. Was I let my sister be my personal assistant for day before she really popped up on Youtube and she did it for channel like being my personal day and they just thought I was mean for like I was I was playing. I think the persona I created for myself and thought about this a lot. I think where you start on youtube urban the videos that you create people your audience comes to know you for something and then if you change outside of that you're no longer what they thought you were so now yet. I make a lot more money than I used to make when I worked at clever in so y'all spend more money or do more elaborate things and now a lot of people Get really mad if I spend money or if I that's so interesting because every what everyone is all like flexing. If you're not buying someone a Lamborghini like I just think of De ed. Just buying a car. I was like well. What the hell like? How are you compete with that? Everyone just constantly like showing the way you do it as like creative like you just the one you just posted like buying every item like buying the whole McDonald's money it was like that's like so silly it's like it's like not like you're like flexing like look. I can afford McDonald's. Well I guess the mistake was putting a click bait number for the price in the thumbnail. It says it was eight hundred and six dollars and everyone was like you could have had so many people that is. This could have gone to the Australia. Fires is so much first of all if you watch the video. There's ten people eating the food didn't give us the entire menu. It was sixty six dollars and I just the things people will get upset about. Is Everything so now. My goal for twenty twenty is to not let comments affect me because I mean they're just I ah for me to be an estate to watch somebody else's video and comment something like that. I'm obviously not that bothered typing to type. I mean I don't believe hey comments but I can't imagine they don't actually care that much joy Yano I feel like they. I feel like also just 'cause you're on such a high. I feel like people just want to bring you down because because you did get success so quickly and you kind of have this like I mean on the outside. It's a perfect life. Even on the inside I was like I think you have a perfect life but I feel like I'm speaking of I just literally saw. Oh you're in did you get another ring. Shamed it dust. Shane spoils me so well. Yeah he got me because when we I got engaged we talked about. I mean just just casually about rings like for him for me and I always thought I wasn't I didn't want like one of the protruding rings because that was maybe too feminine for me. When Shane had looked a lot he had never found something that was a diamond sitting on the top that he loved and then for Christmas I'm opening presence at all of a sudden? I see this freaking ring and I was. I mean it honestly is the most perfect thing I've ever seen seen in my life and he said well I just couldn't marry you and not have you have this ring. 'cause I guess he just saw three rings now when most people get the second get for their actual wedding and we don't even specifically have a date yet but you're GonNa get another one for your money. No I don't think so. I think this is the Max I think I'll re is every time. Ac you're more and more stack that's fricking beautiful. It's cartier yeah. Oh I didn't even think I was a ring person when I first got my very first engagement ring from I'm him. It took me a while to get used to having a ring on because I've never worn rings before if I don't have it on. Oh my I'm like never have been more jealous of adding wins ring in my car and I know cardiac I remember my ex boyfriend. Got Me like the smallest. Like Cartier diamond. And I know how much it was and I was like. Why would you spend that much like on? I I think Cardi diamonds are so like pure clean. Clear cut so like that diamond. I'm just like oh I honestly can't believe he did it I he's spoil it and you're not love about youtube is because you're young people give you shivers earning money. But it's like when you like you're not like super super extravagant you have. You've had like the same car for a while. I got a new one. You've got an upgrade. No no no I well. You're like you've got the same car for a while and here I am exchanging changing your version by a whole new. I gave my old one away and then basically just lost. A little bit edgy wagons. I feel like that's modest. Some people now are literally getting lamborghinis. And Ferrari sorry. SEV's and I was like I can't keep Iowa for Mercedes. Mg out like. I can't keep up with this soldier. Two cars because I was watching those crazy. It's so fascinating eighty. I mean it's obviously it sucks fascinating to consume see that that could even happen living in a secure. Oh Art and it was. That was the most terrifying thing ever like. I never had anything like stolen from a car I was I was like scared. Even leave my house. That's why I got. I literally called you or you called me. You told me you told me about the security system you have and and I was like damn like this is like that was the lifesaver right here because now if someone's like even gates and shit but if someone's like in my yard it'll be like your private property. Get the fuck out like an alert. They get alert me and I love. We stole him from Jeffrey Out. Yeah so he's securing all all the youtube honestly it's like amazing I feel I. I feel like you guys now. I feel like you guys have a gate to. US pretty secure but Y- which is important because it scary. You never know you. You never talked about your scary incidences that we don't but you never talked. Have you talked about it. Has I feel Shane. Did I think a little bit. I mean he well he now has his second channel his Shane Gloss that I. Ah I think he's GonNa post deleted scenes from the series and just other things that he's film cause shame is insane. He films a lot of stuff like he'll me you if I start filming something. I am to invested to scrap it right so I get too attached chance and Shane Hill Wolf like we have filmed and a lot of things for change channel that consumed a lot of time that have never seen the light. Green like mini series or something different. Yeah a bunch of different things. Well I think with the Second Channel Hill start bringing back some of those things that are like seventy five percent edited. Thank you just never put any cells. Mar It's so smart because people can't get enough ashamed content like I feel like he's I don't know like his his is. I said this on his ears like he's crazy. He's just to skyrocket. Is Insane like he was always popular. But it's just like this level of insanity like even jeffries video like thirty million views on a break up. I think I got like three hundred thousand views. That's insane to me like it's interesting but I guess who captivates people. I don't know but the smart yes so with that. I think he will 'cause we had a very scary scare semi recently. Can't we have somebody because we have gate so if somebody's banging on our windows. It means that they've already. This was before we have our crazy security system. I mean after that it was imperative that we got completely locked down. Yeah but there was somebody just banging on our windows and it was so dark and we looked out and he was wearing the hood and had two backpacks our garage Rozelle Bay like looking into the garage and our cars and stuff and the hip footage of that. I remember I remember. She gave me like chills. I was like Oh my that happened to me. I would but he was on drugs something right because he had the footage when the police came and the guy was on drugs or something yeah so and they fifty one fifty him. It was crazy and I was like on the phone with the cops trying to get them there as fast as possible. It's we honestly had no idea. I mean it turned out to be. I think a sixteen or seventeen year old. That was just drugged out and how I the Santa. Shane was going to save his life. If you came banging on our door but don't you don't know that when you look outside and there's good and back she thinks there's a gun correct over. Yeah if someone comes your I'm just gonNA ASSUME THEY WANNA kill me like that is and I think I don't understand the concept of people coming to people's houses. I just don't understand that at all. What are they gonNA be friends like? That's I don't understand and I don't know how to say politely. I guess like I always. It doesn't happen at this house. When we lived over in a different for an area it was a lot more frequently parents would bring their on weekends? It was maybe every thirty minutes parents would come down and knock on our door and we would bring the parents inside and no..

"It up back to we had. That was the most excitement from any ever. They're not excited to be. I was stoked when you asked me to be on because I was just telling you I had never been really on another youtubers podcast before ever. That's so crazy to me. Oh you're today. And he said Yeah. He said he's never been on another like youtuber. Youtuber podcast he was on like one podcast. Awhile ago we actually. Shane and I did go on Christine. Sedova all right. I have a podcast but now she's like the anti like she's exposing. Did you see the song pop doc staff because you and I both US personally attacked a little bit. What do you do out of that but I feel a little attack? I saw you do it. Kid She exposed the I don't know if you have that feature on or not. I think you can request having auto play or not. Yeah no I mean the thing is I do play Song Pump Bruno wondering does Promo thanks to call hours shady. I guess she just doesn't care anymore but I still. I don't know if I retired from Youtube. I don't know if I would just be exposing everyone and everything that I knew but I mean to each their own but doesn't so weird it's like what's the point of it. Did you really just want everyone to hate you. I'm at the point where I'm like. Fuck it but I don't want everyone to hate me. I don't I want to expose everybody. I well yes. I don't want to be hated. But from my standpoint it was very entertaining to consume. Although I hope she's Ok because now She I think she deleted her twitter because people were bullying her. But I don't know a whole story so probably for the best because when you're kind of like that off the rails were you just don't care like then it's a little scary because what if she wants to come back one day or just kind of awkward. Now what's scary to me. Is the life of Youtuber if you then leave youtube. It's probably hard to get a regular job because there's so much dirt on you especially like her especially you all this stuff about twitter like you would look look at that and think. This girl has lost her. I don't know I mean I've met her a couple of times but do you know her. Well I've met her a couple. We've always been friendly but I don't. I've never really hung out with her one on one. I don't think do you have any enemies. I'm trying to think the a beef with anyone even enemies beef beef I I mean not really any not that I'm upset about. I really hated clever for a long time. I mean there but it doesn't upset me anymore like I can look back and laugh because I'm no longer hurting. I'm from it at the time when it was happening. I was very up in arms about no. Let's set this up because this is the thing I find most interesting because you were kind of in the middle of it like I don't know why did did you like start this like you leaving igniting all this like shit storm okay. Well I mean I always thought pre youtube I always thought I was going to be an entertainment aim at reporter. I thought I was going to be like a Jason Kennedy. Yeah Obviously Ryan seacrest but I thought that was my destiny. E- New reading the teleprompter the news of the day and because I enjoy celebrity gossip awesome and actually really do for some reason care and want to talk about. I think it's fun to talk about. Yeah so then I got a job working my supposed to look at. You know you get anywhere. I the clips online. You can look anywhere interviewers. You should know so I did a lot of time but so what was I talking. You were talking about like how that clever and wanted to be A. You'd like to gossip you want to news right. So we're are we circling around two O- how so I was working at clever and then for a long time. I was just freelance while I was still waiting tables and then once they finally brought me on full time time I they never really put me in the full time position that all of the girls were because the executive producers were men so I felt like it was sex system assist in sexism in the reverse role. It was weird because all of the girls they got all the good shows all the like if they wanted to pitch a new show idea they would get a budget for. Ah I always had to fight my way into everything so I felt like but a lot of the talent. We're always champion. Championing me. Yeah they loved you but so when I decided to leave I was just burnt out because I had pitched them so many show ideas and I had tried to like grow with them and they just weren't allowing me to do so at this point. I was with Shane and he could burn out. And I just wasn't growing and I needed a creative outlet so he just said why don't you try doing a youtube video for fun on and I wasn't doing this as a business moving. I just needed something to be creatively fulfilled because there were so step and repeat every day for me and then that kind of took off. It did a video it did well and then I kept making videos and they started making started making more money than I made at clever on Youtube and then I was doing it for about three months and they called me into their office. Said you need to shut down your youtube channel and I was like why do I need to shutdown chattel and they said yeah you just go. We'll no if I have to choose my youtube channel or working for you guys. I'm going to choose my youtube channel. And they said well you signed an exclusive two year contract with us and I said well yeah exclusive to news. This isn't a conflict and they said well what you're putting out is against our brand and it's affecting our relationship sponsors or shine m's twix which actual joie brands so they just basically said shut up. Don't post anymore organise sue you if you leave too like they were threatening to take me to court. A what and their whole precedent was because I was saying if my channels doing successful and I'm still showing up to work every day. How is that not doing good for you guys stopping them because now you have a bigger audience but they just hated it because they thought that I was setting an example for their talent? Because they're they had set in stone with all of their talent that they could not have access to their personal channels but they had given me a different contract because they had bought less of me they were. He's never so I wasn't actually in my contract. It wasn't I wasn't not allowed to do that but then when I was just threatening to leave they didn't want the other girls to know that they had different contracts with different talent Alan and they thought if they just let me go without a fight then everyone would just leave without a fight and then they'd have no talent and leave them with no clever. Wow then they just. I had never never been more because at that time. I didn't have money to be sued. I mean they paid me a good salary but I didn't have money to take them on and core. Yeah so MIJAS. Not showing showing up to work and standing. My ground was so scary at the time but Shane just I mean. I didn't have Shane. I've been able to do it but he was just championing me the whole time he was just A. There's there's nothing that they're going to do. The most likely won't sue but just keep on holding and so you're like basically without any job then. Well I had youtube I was so how long like what is the timeframe that you were making money off youtube versus this happening so I had my channel for about three months once I started boycotting going to work because because I told me I had to leave. They were being very aggressive in their antics of trying to sue me. Doing why the send you a letter from a lawyer. Yeah they were just threatening all kinds of things and going to take me to court and then the contract was unclear so if we went to court it was like sixty sixty forty that I would win but if I didn't then I was also responsible for their legal fees if they won and so I'd be out a couple hundred grand if they won but I mean it so what we settled on eventually me being a part of their which is then so were you ever with an MCSE style no they. They've dropped my channel money. I remember that I mean like zero dollars like six months because they just like fuck your channel like are they out of business or yeah okay the lab so we so you yet for. I don't know like are they still around you still with them and oh okay. MCM's are just the worst. I I think they were basically a central before youtubers had youtube contacts or for brand opportunities. I can say this now. 'cause style hall has collapsed but my contractor style style hall was I got one hundred and twenty percent earnings so basically if I may add since was thirty thousand dollars they would like add like another fifteen thousand to it. Oh and that's because I I don't know and that's where people signed with them because they'd give crazy either signing bonuses or bonuses like that well I think they were taking smaller channels so they were like taking the big chance. That's what I think it was. I think they were taking like a forty percent from smaller than the bigger channels like I know one channel I won't say channels giving one hundred and fifty percent of his earnings. It was weird and I was like. How is that even possible like so so for me I was I was living large? I mean that was my biggest but yeah I guess like basically it was like a setup like we'll give you brand deals will connect you with people like it. was that kind of thing. Dan People like you said early on in Youtube. I feel like didn't really know and now I feel like brands and everything comes directly now. If they want to work with so much fattier how to find you so their whole deal ended up being fine for me because they did direct cell so instead of giving me like one hundred and thirty percent of my Adra they would sell ads where youtube a tube didn't so like youtube only if like sometimes youtube doesn't put an ad in front of your video right so they would pick up for where they didn't because they had a direct sales team. It's very confusing. You probably uh no no. That's interesting I didn't know they did. And so then I would get a check quarterly. That would even. Though they took ten percent of my channel they I would make the backup so it whatever but then when they flopped defy folded as a company. Yes I remember. This was no longer. They took. They essentially tried to take two months of every creators earnings things because they waited until after you had paid out and then folded as a company took that money go though still to this day. Nobody knows they went towards so like my add sense my personal ad sense that they have no reason to have went towards their debts as a company. Oh God so you never have those two months you still never got. Yeah well so youtube demanded that they like it's very confusing. How Youtube and MCM's work but youtube jumped in for the second month and directed all aw payments to creators? So I missed the first month but at the time it was my biggest month on Youtube. it was the middle of summer. I'd posted almost twice a week. And that's I don't postal hostile frequently like almost every day or twice need posing twice a week is a lot of my off that month and then I lost all of of it which now I'm fine with. I can laugh at a long time. I was so upset. We so pests at sense as a huge huge part of like youtuber money especially because like Dan you were like I mean you're you've been able to pop off like crazy but like I remember you popped off so quickly like you got like two million video. I was like how does that happen. Well I think I. I obviously had the luxury of Shane. WHO's a very popular creating? Ah Helping and backing yeah. I think learning the Internet from somebody that's been on the Internet for so long is so beneficial because I I feel very fortunate in that I kind of got to learn from him telling me some things rather than really really drowning and figuring out just trying to swim every any good idea. I've ever had has always come from Shane. Like music like the idea of the other day and I was like this this smart. He really is like he's the best person to have like his creative genius and yeah it really is crazy every n even with my sister now. Who's doing really well on Youtube? Every time he'll suggest an idea to my sister or I always does some well. Yeah he morgan did this. He had given me this idea of the year prior and then I saw Morgan's and I never did it and I'm Morgan. Do it the next year. The Couch Ella. Marie told me about that. I'm like I don't know it sounds kind of weird because you know sometimes ideas. I like so weird but then I'm like I always listen. That's the world always sometimes and sometimes he'll be like Oh. You should cut that part out or do this and I used to be so adamant about I. It's been so long doing this. And then he's typically always. Yeah lucky you just like skyrocketed but you you just added your your videos have been so consistent. I'm sorry you took a break. You took like what like three week break recently. You just posted. I mean because of the I used to really kill myself in making. I have to upload every single Tuesday when I started doing because I thought if I didn't I was going to lose all of the people that might be interested in me. I I think over time I've come to realize that if I'm more excited about an idea and I spend a little more time doing it..

CATS Movie Review

"Movie version of cats has been widely received as the cinematic equivalent of the arrival of the Hindenburg at Lakehurst New Jersey. Busy in one thousand nine hundred thirty seven joined now by somebody who has actually seen it and has leave thousand yard stare to prove monocle. Twenty fours Ben Ryland Ben. Ah How bad is it really. It's the kind of bad that you'll only see once in a lifetime and why I am actually quite excited Generally speaking android. I'm not one of those critics who delights indignant clause ha ha into things The critics do and there have been a lot of people especially all over twitter. Who are absolutely Louis just outdoing themselves in writing the most scathing review? That's not an art form. I enjoy however on this occasion. I'm willing to make an exception. Because of the thing is with bad films bad inept incompetent they usually just boring. It is quite special for film to be so bad that it becomes James kind of mesmerizing. Is that the kind of bad. We're talking about here. No and there is a problem there as well. So yes what you're saying is that we're not even a bad movie. No it's not it's it's a cl- it's absolutely a fascinating study of what can go wrong when you're talking about a massive David Studio film because as you say films that are legitimately legitimately bad a boring and dull and they go away quite quickly and everyone forgets about them I was riding a peaceful the globalist for this morning here on on on Monaco and I use an example of the snowman which is a film that came out in two thousand seventeen starring Michael Fast Bender it was directed by Thomas Alfredson. It had various Production problems scripts didn't work the short half the film it didn't realize until they went to editor though missing entire portions that that film doesn't work for the obvious reasons and that is a film that everyone has forgotten by. Now this is the cats is not that kind of bad. It's its own wound kind of bad because it's so the top. It's so strange. The idea from the very beginning was so bizarre to have humanoid cats that are going to be. CGI to look sort of real like real human cats is not like on stage. Where you know that there are people in in costumes? I mean you know the the kind of expectation when you have when you see something on stages that you are going to suspend your disbelief anyway in spectacle can be enough in itself. The film doesn't have that because it's made these people look like such authentic alien type mutant cat people that it immediately off putting the biggest problem cats has however aside from all Lasana as if it were just bizarre and entertaining it would be okay. The problem it has is that it's known entertaining. It's dreadfully dull. Everything is told in Song after the song after Song it spends about twenty five minutes of people. Just jumping around going well. I'm the JELLICOE COD on the jelly coca rhyming words with with jellicoe that's it. It's a really a long time to have a rhyming. Exercise that leads ultimately nowhere. The question I guess is could it have worked because on paper and I'm not a fan of the musical cats largely because I love that book old possum's book or practical cats as a kid. I can still recite yards from memory. It took years to be able to enjoy again. I'm having got the songs out of my head and the fact that it keeps coming back means I have to cleanse myself of this all over again but leaving my own prejudices aside what you have. He is is the template of a musical which is obviously popular the the soundtrack albums sold billions of copies. The musical is being a hit in cities all over the world. You had an enormous normal budget and a cast certainly not lacking in talent. We'll say away. This could have been turned into an enjoyable cinematic experience. Yeah and I think and I think most of us who left the cinema earlier this week were thinking of ways that it could have been improved and the list is as you might imagine quite long it. Certainly when you're talking I mentioned earlier. That stage and screen Different mediums. Now that is that cannot be Expressed enough because when you're on stage it is okay. Just be a spectacle. There are many musicals. That don't have a very strong storyline but it's okay okay because they are spectacular. Watch on the stage when you're in a theater it's a more intimate setting when you're at the cinema. You do need something to keep you drawn in so cats could have been better if they'd written a storyline and I don't just mean a stronger. Storyline I just made a storyline. needs to have something to keep it going thing for for two hours and it also needs to have a little bit more talking as well when you're telling the entire story of whatever is happening on on the screen and this is essentially a shall we say twenty different vignettes old cramped together but you don't really know they've in yet because it's just song to song after song to song the the only way to follow them is to know the lyrics and you can't follow every lyric to every song that's playing constantly at you so it ends up just being this big kaleidoscope of confusion Asian so yes they would have been many different ways to make this a better film. But I'M NOT GONNA come out with some sort of ingenious idea that they could have followed it really. Just this comes down to have a story and make it somehow

Martini celebrates the festive season with a limited-edition Negroni chocolate collection created by Paul A. Young

"The beloved Italian Coktail Negroni is one hundred years old this year and the Shuki pull a young has been asked by Martini to concoct brand new chocolate to mark the occasion. Well Uncles Ben. Ryland sat down with Paula. littler Elliot to talk about the creative and practical processes of marrying chocolate with such such a famous drink. Plus they enjoyed a little bit of tasting along the way I have the great privilege of being approached by fantastic brands And a half to love the brand and all I have to love the product that the brand of created and for me it has to be natural. Ashby pure and ask interesting. And I've known the Martini brand for for decades. I remember adverts in the nineteen eighties with a particular on roller skates. trae Martini and the any time any place. Any were to have a Martini so so it was. It was always a happy memory for me. So when they approach and said we've got these new reserve special and brought on Rubino for Moose my East pricked up because I'm not a beer drinker. Call volume alcohol drinker. Let one night champagne and spirits. But I like Negroni old-fashioned says bitter sweet flavors because you can have them over ice on their own stop blending them and for me. Obviously I have to blend into the chocolate. So the challenge for me was taking the two commutes on brought her which is a a number color and the Rabin which is this ruby color from youth and taste them dilute pair them with chocolate. Let's try and find a combination that celebrates negroni because the centenary celebration of Negroni without the chocolate distorting the flavors and characters in the botanical in the two Moose but also the vermouth are very complex. And they've got that distinct bitter sweetness to they can easily distort the chocolate as well so it was actually an opportunity for me to work with them on getting that balance. Absolutely right Let's take quite a long time. We always think about the delicacies Kasese that can go with a glass of wine for example. What it it's fairly common knowledge that certain foods should go with a glass of wine? Don't sit down to a lovely gloss of red wine and then and and then tuck into a box of chips not good idea that we often don't think about that same sort of methodology when it comes to pairing something something we chocolate. How do you know what goes well with chocolate? It's a really good question in two parts to it. When I when I first started in chocolate a quite few years I would be guilty? If you've ever analyzing and I think it it's the way some people take chocolate which is if you're doing it professionally or academically you do have to have a process of pinpointing and finding all of us delicate compounds flavors and tastes to the point where you're deciding whether this chocolate is fine. Quality with beans have been fermented well of picked well or and so on and so you really digging in Bolt for me when it comes down to it. I have to take it back to base level when I smell it smell texture to like the taste from beginning middle and end and Roy after the after taste does it work with ingredients and now you get people who will say what wine and chocolate hard to pair. I find it very easy to pair. That's because I've tasted a lot of chocolate and a lot of wine and I can think about those flavors starting out and you taste piece of chocolate. How would you know which one to pick their hundreds if not thousands of them on the shelf to boy Oy? It's really difficult and all I say is by and tastes and eat what you like. Try It if you think it doesn't work. You're probably right because you own your tongue on your taste spots. And if it pairs well great. An I have always with all my tastings and events set to people if you prefer eating or milk white or dark chocolate with a cup of tea fantastic few think it works for you. It probably does but when it comes down to do you like if you do great no matter what anybody else says because you a half to want to eat again and again and again I'm almost runner of the cadbury cream egg at with the woman dipping hurt chips into a cream egg. Yeah well salty and sweet is massive business. The chocolate industry tree lady is not as crazy as she looked. She has no But I I do have a box of beautiful chocolates in front of me and you just pulled me a gloss of the move which was very kind of you for this time of day. A little SIP exactly Tell me tell me first. What vermouth measuring? This has gone brought us. This is the amber colored very light fresh smell wise. I've got fruit and it has to me sympathy botanical. Medicinal that's not meant to be a negative Tiv- term. I remember as a child having buttercup Syrup as a medicine and Dundee Line serapis kind of things those botanical can pass over very successfully into a Moose yes and drinks and this has that element of bitter sweet to it which if you think about bittersweet flavor dark chocolate is bittersweet already got a really good foundation and having having having a taste It's light on the tongue but the aftertaste is really really long It's beautiful sweet as well. But not over not overpowering only switch cleverly made it very sweet not overly sweet at the beginning and then this kind of botanical bitter dryness comes in the end and the chocolate made with it is the blue and gold marbled finish which represents the best colors on the buttocks. It's a beautiful bottle. Ferry Italian design obviously and sticking with Martini brand absolutely. I think if you are familiar with the Martini a line of Vermouth e you probably would be impressed by this particular RESERVA SPATULA pull. Educate me on how I should be eating the chocolates with the truth. We've had a drink of Mussa. Still got the flavor. There have a bite of one of the chocolates list. It's the blue and gold when it has a very soft center of white chocolate. We've got some Bombay Sapphire Gin. We've the VERMOUTH in there. Got Some Madagascans chocolate. which is thought delicate fruity chocolate? And very little else the predominant ingredient in that is the vermouth because I wanted that flavor to to last on the tongue. And it's it's a gorgeous balance. The dark chocolate is just bitter sweet enough like the vermouth. Once you've had the first bite and it's melted and swallowed. I have a bit more. Vermouth just passed me. A A glass of Rabin now I suppose that means that well to be polite I would have to try some of this. You would have to try that one as well this array of full of flavor for me I get kind of a smell of time leaves and herb Leary is very very very smooth. A little a bit Rich in feeling flavor and that's represented in the chocolate as well. We've got that lovely Madagascar chocolate again. But they could nash the filling inside. I just heavier more full needs a bit more impact. Bit more strength to it. So it doesn't get lost in the Renault so now that we've had some of the redeem we should be tasting some of the chocolate or I'd have made the chocolates a half dome a very smooth surface and a dark chocolate can inside Very very different indeed this one. Yeah very dock inside and a much more pungent hit it take. It took a long time to find the right chocolates to work with the to the most because Kosta so complex for example. If you choose orange which I love chocolate and orange you instantly got. I honestly know which chocolate to put with it to get that nostalgic fail. I love chocolate orange. What this it was? Try again try again try again. It's absolutely fantastic. The opportunity to have something that is quite unusual all to work with both familiar. It's funny how I haven't had either the Vermouth to start with but the familiarity and some of the botanical in. I don't know where that's from. I'm from my many years past of tasting and eating but there is something in them and all my team who tried to. There's something in recognized but I don't know what it is. I think a lot of people might say I've I've never had vermouth on its own. I've had a Martini Shaken oster Martini or I've had it as a mix of had it in an aground. Have I had it with chocolate would would I tried it if it wasn't in the chocolate maybe not so my job and my responsibility is just to inspire people to try something different. Because that's what I've had the opportunity. It's due to create the chocolates. I think you've done very well. Thank you so much. That was really

Imelda Staunton on the New 'Downton Abbey' Film

"Today today after making a name for herself on the West End Stage Imelda Staunton shot to international fame when she started in the Mike Leigh Drama Vera Drake in two thousand and four it earned her an academy award nomination for Best Actress. Imelda Staunton is also the winner of three Olivier Awards for best actress in a musical for her roles in into the woods sweeney any told and Gypsy in two thousand and sixteen. She's back on screens this weekend. Joining the cast of the feature film version of Downton Abbey she spoke to Monaco's has been Ryland for me joining it now because I'm not in the series and although my husband who plays Carson isn't the series or do feel. I've lived but I think that's that's very interesting to think. NCA- about. Should we want things to stay the same and yet I also think within the story that Julian fellowes has given the female characters. You know I've could a very interesting story line because I come into it but women questioning there. Should I be living in this big house with servants. What what what's happening with the world and yet the audience crave costs and someone steady. They want things to be steady and safe because we are going to hell in a handcart hot. Let's face it to cling onto something that has got tradition. If you like and that's why I dare say we're all obsessed with the royal family or just something that is stable because it's all over the place and I think it stability that people want and yet we have to sort of we have to move within that the big question of course is which tradition should we hold onto and which ones should we move on from and we all collectively need to make this decision and in a microcosm sort of way that's the the dilemma faced with many of the characters you'll your character wants to make a decision without giving anything away that would be quite untraditional it would be against the idea of what what people do you and there are other characters such as Maggie Smith who looks at this and says no things shoot remain how they've always been and it's it sort of feels like a wider dilemma that we just don't know which ones we should hold onto to know but in film terms that's tension and that's what you need to make a drama. There's no point of us will sit making a film that everything's fine or everything's terrible you have to the tension is like the tension between Maggie Smith Skirt and Penelope Wilton character which yes you think about it. She doesn't belong to the House and so her role throughout the series was almost almost and I'm a I'm quoting her now but she was the window from the audience into Downton again will is that right and she could question on behalf of us. You know what was going on on and I think you have to be malleable with all these traditions and you have to move all family of how to move with the Times with you will in Kate and and how it has to move on and I think Downton has embraced that the film you know the fans just desperate for the film and I think they'll be delighted with it but I think they'll be delighted with it because although it's a chocolate box and it's a fantasy they're serious points in the film and I think you know for what it is. I think people go uh no. I think that's that's quite true if the made the cooks assistant questions. Why are we having to do all this the king and Queen or why are we having to you know just just questioning just putting things out there. I think it will make people listen to more than just oh what we have tea and dinner served. Well absolutely it's. It's such a cozy film but also you know we were talking about traditions and in a way the film is about nostalgia isn't it. I found myself coming out of a wondering whether it really is a love letter. Tunis eligible naught because there are so many elements of the film that while very much of the time that he's being depicted here. It's also making it clear that time is moving on culture is moving on whether these people choose to understand it or not the the king and Queen that come to visit wouldn't have any idea about this secret secret gay club. That's happening without anyone's knowledge behind these on March doors you know there is an element of a coach is moving on even if these people are living all all alone in a happy little place in their own little bubble at the end of the film it did make me one east this and affectionate love letter to nostalgia all has more of a reminder that all things will eventually end even Downton Abbey the series the film perhaps the structure itself yeah. I think it's both I think it's it you can give and take away and I feel that you know Downton. Abbey was Sunday night fair and it's not political to cope with a big P. It's as you said it's cozy television and it's feel good and that's that's what this is. We must pretend as any different than the there were few little ingredients. It's in their little bit risky. You know and that's within its remit. I think it hits all those marks and yes you know anything about the old days. It's no style Jake and and Britain does that quite well. I Suppose Julian fellowes you know with Gosford Park for goodness sake all those years ago he knows how to do that. So you see you can push the boundaries so fall with film right Downton Abbey and I think he's done it and I think he's served the regular characters. I'm aware on the periphery of at the end of the regular characters are who the fans want to see and this is a film that has been made because of the demand of the popular you know how many people one hundred twenty million people watching it so he's given them what they want. I think Imelda Staunton they're one of many stars of the new feature film version of Downton Abbey Speaking to Ben Ryland Downton Abbey is out in cinemas

Were you expecting to get that kind of money. Nope nope nope basically no but it's nice to get surprised surprise the right way occasionally absolutely lots of d._m.'s from final fallen podcast listeners jerk kelly who you know well of course from doing the show with me all all saying congratulations to your calves so long may it continue speaking of exciting young talent palace pier is some of kingman kingman himself won on the group three scenario which will talk about a little bit later on in the show this son of his palace pier over the same course and distance looks to be a right type for john gosden and one of two on the day who absolutely bolted up strongly backed cost an awful lot of money so obviously i'm intrigued straightaway than what did you make of frankie dettori and john gosden palace pier well that was a big day for the golden two year olds boasts of the palaces coming out one at sandown and then one last late newcastle which touch upon tallies pit was probably the sex here at the two in the sense that ridden by frankie at sandown <hes> probably be much more in his field than cape policy up in newcastle and probably did it in a slightly <hes> smarter shop shop away and say because he's by kingman he sort of by the sar at the moment and he did it really well. He was pushed along esquel squeeze. The long toucher he you just to get an ice position and frankie oversee got him integrate palsy in the end and then what's really interesting is when you watch the race back cow. There's just the point where frankie starts to preska fresca essentially to go away from some more experience than some nicely bread rivals behind and he just takes that moment to the penny starts dropping often holds his heads realm not high in in sort of when he first presses go you can tell the horses just thinking this is the first time i've had a squeeze this. This is the first time i've been asked to do this and just for a minute. He's not giving he's just quite kingman. He is really stretching out very nicely. Indeed it it just from where frankie starts push to the line. It just takes a not at a time for the pennies to drop i want the penny has dropped his going away. He got it right through the line. Those loads the likely pulled a long way clear of some pretty decent rivals. Lots of people go excited about it and rightly so he looked really really smart. Individual ritual abdomen. Kanji of the year reflects disasters that battered Japan in 2018

"Into the next year because I mean, given that this one means disaster or misfortune, that's sort of feels like a bit of an unfortunate way to start off the new year. Summing up of the year and Japan is had an extraordinary year. We've had typhoons incredible heat wave in the summer. And there have been financial scandals the economy contracted, I think people just felt this this current to really either let's put that year to bed. It's it's not about looking into the future. You know? I mean last year's character was north Kita and that was about North Korea, which dominated the news agenda at that point. So it's just really a reflection of what what is being about people being talking about an and and it's been a succession of sorry to say, but has been a succession of disasters. So I mean, you've this one's obviously not not a great one last year's also contents. Have we seen many is chosen that have actually been quite positive quality? Cheerful. They didn't have to be cheerful. I think there's something quite sort of poetic about it. You know, people are not afraid of the the the disaster. It it sort of some things up quite nicely. So I don't think people will see it as a bad thing. And you know. In fact, I think really it means that we're looking forward to the next year and every year people get quite interested in this thing. And I think you know, across Japan, people do want to know, you know, I think they did vote for it. So they they also agree. So for them, it seems quite as sort of a positive and the early well facing the facts copy such a bad thing. Then as long as that's what we're doing monocle Tokyo bureau chief Yona Wilson, thanks for joining us here on the briefing that does bring us to the end of today's program. "I think it's you're gonna have to like creating something. So I think as long as your telling us story in your unique voice and excited like genuinely passionate about it. Eventually, I think it will probably take off amazing. Those are all the questions I realize play inside the studio with Ryland host your host. Actually. All right. All right. And what was the Sheri's Dade rely? Oh, no. Wow. Actually, don't have a specific day coming to mind, which seems weird. I don't know if you don't. You know, I think it's a nice way of not asking. What the scariest the saddest Dave your life because you can avoid that not tell that story. If you had a scary. I I didn't I can't they said I have probably why I'm asking somebody else because I don't have yet. Either of you maybe being ghosted thinking. I was being goes. It was a scary day like dooming. Days. I think for me it was getting my fibrous surgery. I had never gotten surgery before you know, how you think worst case scenario. What What if if I'm wake? awake? That's so funny, jazz anesthesiologist. Worry about surgery at all. No. And yet the scariest thing about surgery to me is not waking up from it. That's weird and the half on that you don't feel that we learn because my dad was a pilot. So I've never been scared on thirty guy feel comfortable and planes and planes, or like DisneyWorld that so excited the whole time, not, you know, shading I well, Shane has this crazy fear of planes. And now it's like come down onto me. He's. I went to Hannaford. Afraid nece. But for the anesthesia, whatever you call it. I've heard that you actually do feel everything. But it's like a race. Is that true? No, definitely not that. Just okay now. Just because it's like this weird thing where like people are actually awake the whole videos. It's nuts. I'd never think how we're getting cut open, and you don't feel. Scariest thing about it is that you are in the closest level to sleep that is death, basically because they have to kind of they have to basically start your stop, your heart and monitor it, but charge up for. So your reluctance give you enough that you can't feel it..

"Scary. That's scary predisposition to have one year about to expose yourself to so many people on the internet. Yeah. And then when it's I mean, it is toxic there because when something goes wrong, it really goes wrong. I mean, you you see all the time like people are out to ruin people's careers, and especially in the YouTube beauty community stuff that happened this year. But in the same token, do you feel like an Ryland personally like when I met you. I didn't know you were gay. Do you feel like you to kind of in the past couple of years helped you find yourself in your voice, and like who you are? So I do see a lot of like Ryland so confident and I think that's because I am comfortable being myself. But I think that was something that I had previously because like you saying like, even though you worked in the same arena as being necessarily know you were gay because I've never made gay like a personality trait necessarily, and I'm not like there's so many people that like gay is their brand and that never be like to each their own. But like that's just not ever who all be. But. Who was the initial portion it's helped me, but I think your voice. Yeah. I think I've definitely become more and more and more comfortable, and like my sister say like you're gay or literally every. I asked say that line. I see more of it now. And it's really cool because I'm like is he he's living his true self. Now. It almost feels like, you know, I think I would say so yeah, what's your back your studio? We wrote them down, but you've anymore. Do you feel like YouTube ever gets in the way of your relationship and do you ever want to stop one day for a month and take a mental break one hundred percent? It's a I think because luckily shade, and I have a very healthy relationship. But being on a platform where you expose a lot of your life. It does get confusing and more so than that like workout like shame. This Jake Paul like goodbye for a month because he lived eight part docu series was I mean, he was staying up all night every night sleeping, four hours and night getting those things up. So I think it just is very important to like if you wanna be in a relationship maintain like, okay? But we also have a date night at this point. And like really like make sure because right like running essentially your business by yourself is a full full-time job Pierre south. Motivation for him to actually get himself up and do that. Yeah. My last question. So actually can player game is what advice do you have to people listening right now that wanna be YouTubers because I feel like back in the day when we were in school people were like I wanna be lawyer. I wanna be doctor. I wanna be and now a lot of people in high school like I want to be more like we have to give people that answer. I would say like a lot of people say entertainment start because it's something you're excited about rather than I want to be a millionaire or be rich or famous or like validation from outside people..

"And so those the girl that he doesn't part of the reason. Same checks. Yeah. Ryland people knock on your door like every day. That's so intrusive. Well, yeah, he somebody got mad at Shane once. Then when one person finds the address then it was leaked now you Google like the addressing. I mean, we're like moving in like five seconds. So it's. Problem will be solved. We're getting out of our current rats situation team ten houses right near lows. Right. No. When he lived here in Beverly it was right on in West Hollywood, right? Like down the street. Yeah. So anyways docu series started from Tannock on. And then he was interested in more people. And then it's a school ated from there. Did you guys have any idea? How big this docu series is going to be no I mean, I kind of took over the internet in expected way. And what was interesting about it was it was garnering outside attention. I think people that don't watch to watch the Tannock on here, which is interesting because the subject was a YouTube. But I think just the madness that it was was just such a compelling story. And then Shane's great storyteller amazing editor was in one of those Tannock. Stay of my life. You'll be in the second one maybe coming out often. And that's a we cover every day. In my life. Questions. But I don't know if they're going to like, everyone all the listeners. Right. So I started watching because of the spooky boys and through. Buki would. Okay. So I typed into YouTube. I go Queen Mary haunted because I wanted to stay there. And then the video popped up. I was like, okay. I wonder if they found anything, but I know who more Queen Mary's. And then I was like, okay. So let's see it's haunted. And I watched the whole video like these people are fucking hilarious. So then I just kept watching the next one next. When even when the warring spooky boys. But then I fell in love at your Monson. And I just want to know is Monson actually. Okay. Yeah. He's. He's doing good. He's doesn't have a presence currently on internet. We still see him frequently time, but he's good. I think he's just like working out his own life before he decides. I think where he's going to go. I think the internet is very toxic in general shirt. So I think he's just figuring out. What will be has a history of depression? He he makes his videos about how depressed he has become a funny way. But like I'll watch cry with him. He's like a comedic genius. He. So captivating and has such a unique. He's personality. Amazing. So funny to have more say have talked about having nice. I have a game with him at the very end of the actors studio. All right. Let me ask you more than water the best and worst parts about being too were. The best is why remind myself that I have the best job literally all the time because you get to. There's going no. Well, like, even when my previous jobs, there's somebody else kind of dictating when you're doing something when what you're doing. And it's not a fool like creative experience. So I love that. I can think of an idea that excites me and see that through all the way to the end. And then miraculously somebody else wants to watch it and that gets to be my job. So I think the coolest part is also being able to travel places and be like, oh, but I'm working. So it's cool and the worst part. It's really taxing and draining. And I think it's isolating. I'm very fortunate and the people around me that that's also what they do as well. So have abounding board. But I think a lot of YouTubers. The core of them are depressed people. I think a lot of people starting to. Yeah. Because they weren't necessarily like thriving in real life or didn't have a lot of friends and they felt comfortable talking to their cameras. So it's kind of like a typically I would say like a lot of people on YouTube. It was they started this. And then it kind of took off for them. It's is late because you work by yourself..

"The. Hello everyone. One will come to the I don't get podcast. I'm freaking out. Again, we have violent Adams the studio. And I thought about chain Dawson all the time, obviously because there's a huge series, everyone who falls Shane follows Ryland in sister Morgan, and I can't believe he's here today. So. Ryland out of youtuber for you guys. Don't know he is three million subscribers on YouTube. Amazing and Shane would you say Shane's like one of the biggest people on YouTube your boyfriend? I mean, he's been on the internet differently for like my not close enough to the mic for forever. And I do think that recently he really has reinvented him in a way that is kind of put him at the forefront of the internet. Yeah. Like his docu series is like all people talk about I feel like these days. Just just right off the bat. How annoying is that people are like oh year. Ryland Shane's boyfriend, right? Like, how annoying constantly annoying because? You know, so. See, I actually I don't mind much at all. Because in a way like he is the one that taught me the internet showed me the way of the internet and kind of introduced his audience to me. So I'm actually very thankful when people associate me with Shane I'm like, oh my gosh. Yes. So I'm actually I don't get upset about it at all. No, that's that's a youtuber before you met chain, not necessarily. No. I mean, I was working clever, which are you still both actually and I worked at clever and it Ryland left, right? When I got there and clever is obviously like an entertainment news YouTube channel, and we cover like YouTube news too. I haven't been there for six months, but I'm going back on Thursday weird thing with me like take scheduled for six months, and then they put me on like for maybe two months before bachelors than I can't do it again. Wow. But so yeah. So we met Ryland kind of through clever. I don't really you actually produced a show about the bachelor that you are also show. Oh. You really off to the side. I like to be honest. I know like you guys were part of the bachelor. I was never I've never been a part of the bachelor nation or terminology for it. But Johnson was just like just gonna put you on this show. And I was like, well, I'm not like like avid viewer. And she was like, it's fine. Just like read the social media. All right. Yeah. You just you didn't watch. Right. I try I mean for the first few episodes. I really tried. But the bachelor is a commitment. I mean, I understand that I understand the appeal but to actually follow the entire season is a huge time commitment to hours, maybe four hours a week heard ice is like four to six Paris is job. I think I would wanna watch it like in two spurts tube injures like the first half and then the second half. But I can't we all just want to jam reading now. Which is why YouTube so amazing. Okay. So you move to LA when. Oh, my gosh longtime ago now when I was nineteen and I'm twenty seven and so then you always like back to Lauren was asking. Did you always want to be youtuber? You started clever? I actually I moved to California in the like in a summer of college. So I was still in college. I was like I'm gonna go there for the entire summer. And if like enough happens for me that I'm like making money. I'm just gonna stay so drop out of college. Yeah. Which I just ended up doing because I got a commercial agent. I booked like a few commercials that paid me enough to be like, I can stay here. Welcome ursel. Do like some crazy like lack Ma which is like the art museum. A state farm and the background. It was like a weird part in like a Wendy's. But these were all like eight years ago. Yeah. So I was just kind of taking whatever I could get I was like putting myself in acting classes, and then I realized it was bad actor, and I was like. Rindge old acting. So I was just like, well, I feel like talking more of a route I can take and I do like entertainment. That's why I moved here. So then I really like pushed myself into host. I feel like hosting is always that backup. I'm like, well, I can't I love tension. This isn't. Yeah..

"The fine is the only reason he and some of the other crew stay they want to go home to Vietnam. But they don't have the money to pay the company to release them from their contract. We reached out to cervical Hanoi about these allegations. Speaking through an interpreter company representatives pointed to yearly inspections by the Vietnamese government and said they've never been penalized. They said the company does impose fines in some situations. But would not provide specific details. A few days after Tom. I contacted us for help he reaches out to Ben he says his boat is had back to see soon. And it could be months before he's back on shore. Then calls me to read pounds message. We said I cannot go. I said what happens if they make you go. He said he does not know what to do if they make 'em go back out. We tell town will try to find help. So I reach out to the international organisation on migration, the UN agency that deals with human trafficking, the IOM's documented trafficking and other abuses among Vietnamese fishermen on foreign fleets. A lot of it's similar to what I'm hearing. I get on the phone to lay out on story to ROY Linda willed. He works for the IBM in Central America. Is there precedent for this situation to actually aware of the situation? Exactly likes us based on. What I tell them about ton Ryland says he's probably a victim of human trafficking. And that we need to act fast to try to get him off the boat. Recall is illegal. It can't be enforced in Vietnam. So the that's that's one thing. Parents cannot be forced to pay out liaison. Trafficking vary. What's legal in one country could be legal in another. And regardless of whether Tom's contract is lawful. In vietnam. Some men told me families have paid to free their sons from these boats concepts his family doesn't have the money from poor family like they're not gonna be able to get a lawyer and fight that. You know? I'm waiting. I'm waiting on a response for the mechanics of all of that from my colleagues NBA. The next few days are a blur phone calls trying to figure out what to do. I connect with another Iowa rap Mark Brown, the country director in Vietnam. He says they might have a way to get on home and protect him from the fine. But they'll need someone to carry the message at this point. This letter him that our offers genuine, you might turn it out at the end. But he needs to.

"To do that yet i don't know if we ever will well i think i think the root of it that you don't hear a whole lot talked about is is essentially money in politics rates so you know the gun lobby can can sort of legally bride politicians and politicians vote accordingly right so you know you here you know your your fair and saying well what can we do there's nothing we can do frustration blah blah blah all that stuff right we all feel that um but the root of it is as long as those guys are taking that money it's a forprofit industry it's knocking at atms right so you know the the most coward you have is not only in activism but you know basically voting you know there are a new jersey there are politicians who take uh quote donations from gun lobby so i know who that is an and vote accordingly hey vote against the ah in the afghan if that's it that's how you how it has to begin and that's the beginning the first step a very difficult solution and however long path it may be it's you do what you have to do it the bottom line is eric we can't have this anymore i know everybody will say the same thing this has to stop wednesday the next one we can have this anymore well until there's action i mean real serious bona fide tangible action i don't know if it's ever going to stop or is terrible it sounds i four at period brother it um yeah like i said the the biggest thing that um i sorta come back to this point a lot in in social media things like that is either you know either you have to work on this 'cause it's happening daily right you can't just be complacent and show up after a huge event you have to sort of beer in the fight ryland yet it'd be in this um but i would come back this point you every day you're either defending the guns of tomorrow shooter or the lives of tomorrow's victims by those who who do you.
