"People are saying that he was a little bit overdrafted. If he's gonna be drafted 32nd overall or 16th overall, does it really matter? I think he's at first around talent. I love Johan Dodson and when you pair Jahan datsun, a guy who's got really good ball skills at high pointing a football catching some of those Carson Wentz Yolo balls pairing Jahan dotson with Terry mclaurin is a home run. I love it. Can't wait to see them play together. It's gonna be great. Oh, and there's another small move that Washington made. They drafted in the 5th round, a quarterback that I call quarterback insurance. Sam Howell, if Carson Wentz does not become your and develop into your franchise quarterback, Sam Howell is a really talented quarterback who at one point was viewed as the best quarterback in his draft class. And was the first round pick. So I think he's the first round talent in the 5th round at quarterback, well done by Washington. I think when it comes to some of the moves they've made, Washington has potential to have a really good off season. All right. Let me drink some water, then we'll get into this topic that I can't, I care about it enough to talk about it, but not enough to get my compassion. Maybe I will get angry. So this past week, Tennessee's quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, said some words that made a lot of people really angry. He said it's not my job to mentor Malik Willis. That is the quarterback that Tennessee drafted in the third round that they are hoping could eventually replace Ryan Tannehill. When Tannehill said it's not my job to mentor Malik Willis people freaked out. Oh my gosh, is a bad leader. Terrible guy. Not the kind of leader I would want, and I'm not gonna argue with you and say that this is the best example of leadership I've ever seen. A player who's not gonna help a player beneath him. But let's be clear, Ryan Tannehill's job is to be as good at playing quarterback as he can be..

QB Ryan Tannehill Among Nine From Tennessee Titans Positive for COVID-19

"That we need to realize is gonna take a not just now in the preseason. But this is going to be an issue when we actually get Into the regular season. And that's covid. Okay. We see what happens with Cam Newton wasn't eligible to return to practice until today because he was away from the facility and he's not vaccinated. You need Take a test and come back, not positive, and even in the case of the Tennessee Titans They already said a couple of days ago that they had seven players. That they've had to put On the Covid 19 reserve list. This week you got Mike Rabel, their head coach who tested positive for Covid on Sunday and Ryan Tannehill. He's now a part of that group. Ryan Tannehill tested positive for Covid 19. And if you recall, it was only a few weeks ago that Ryan Tannehill was one of the players who basically said Listen The NFL is basically forcing our hand here. And as a result, Ryan Tannehill he got vaccinated. Even though it sounds like he didn't want to. He did, and he still tested positive. Now, having said that, as a result, Ryan Tannehill, he's gonna miss 5 to 10 days and he needs to produce two negative tests. Two consecutive days. Okay, the Titans they get going September 12th. I think that is enough Time to hopefully get Ryan Tannehill back up and running, and their general

Free Agency 2021: Biggest Winners and Losers From Day One

"Who's the biggest winner from day. One the biggest winner from day one already told you it was. It was a my intro. You're listening great question. Jonnu smith out. It's cam newton. Well that depends kenyans a starter for sixteen games. That's right that's true. It's yeah okay. Potentially find jonah smith. Donald smith big contract with the patriots They invest heavily in him. You like this for him i do. I think you know Obviously the quarterback is the concern. But this is the scenario especially with the move that they made that we look for in fantasy as tight end could be the leader of the pack in terms of targets and opportunities and so look cam was not good in twenty twenty. If cam does start sixteen games in two thousand twenty. One greg olsen. During a five year stretch was pretty awesome of the top tier tight ends of the guys that we did. We talk about what he was in the next group you know. And so from twenty two thousand twenty sixteen. Greg olsen averaged a hundred eighteen targets a season seventy seven catches Decide one thousand yards and five times. Johnny could do that. One season estimate put them right around a top five tight end. Greg olsen was great and not only was he great but we also saw from cam newton in that stretch that he could give you greg olsen. Who could finish as a top eight tight in five straight seasons and give you a number to wide receiver in four of those five seasons three or four of those five seasons whether it was. Steve smith or kelvin. Benjamin and even ted ginn one year. So that's interesting. I'll afforded talking about that on the show tomorrow on the tuesday morning show and then of course we'll have a whole bunch of more news items to react to. Hopefully we'll get some kenny golladay news at some point on tuesday or maybe it'll happen later on monday night as record this at about nine fifteen eastern. Who's the biggest loser from day. One the biggest loser from day one on asking these questions before. I told you that we were starting with these egypt's before the show The biggest guys they ryan tannehill johnny smith and Us down smith and corey davis They're going to have to struggle to replace those guys Davis probably more. So the jonah just from the standpoint of what he was last year with his production number two receiver sixty five catches nine hundred plus yards and five touchdowns. So we'll see what they do in in in that in that regard but i think Tannehill you know. I had him as the number eleven quarterback. I dropped in the thirteen after today. Just because i think it was close between in my mind. Joe burrow and tom brady put them behind both those guys. Okay how 'bout jameis winston ryan tannehill right now. It's soom jameis winston as the starter. I still go. i think it'd be messy. You know. I can't situation we're taking those not blaming So i was hoping james would go someplace else and tastes hill. Would still be the guy with maybe a rookie or somebody. Young that they could groom continued. Just gonna to get you know too much of the mill package of james as the starter and if as milton starter. Davis is gonna play very much so it just feels like it be messy situation oil. Who do you like better. Corey davis with the jets nelson agholor with the patriots. I think adler is going to be bad. I don't trust the situation. You know i mean he. He had so many big. Plays for the raiders last year and he was so good for derek carr but he did that on eighty two targets. I don't think he gets eighty two targets with the patriots. He's going to do the same thing. So with what cam does running the ball with what jonah smith brings to the table with. What the rest of the receiving corps will look like if julian edelman on the team if he's healthy Nagla is going to be A guy that's not on many fantasy rosters middle of the season whereas corey davis could be the best receiver for the jets. I don't know if that's going to be the case. But i would take davis by far over niagara.

The Patriots Quarterback Carousel

"To talk with the quarterback Carousel though. The latest Derek card may be on the trading block maybe on the market. Maybe not on the market. But what are your feelings? I think we're both in agreement that the starting price of two first-round picks is absolutely insane, but just in terms of him as a player. Where are you on Derek Carr? Yeah. I I think that all just start first with the overarching, you know, I think you're going to see a lot of teams put borderline quarterbacks on the market right now. I think you'll see what Jimmy Garoppolo I think you might see with Kirk Cousins those sorts of situations. It's just because teams saw the return for Matthew Stafford and they're thinking when I want some of that right? It's like what's going on in stock market gets hot. So everybody wants in on it. I don't know how like not every quarterback that gets put on the trade block in the next month is going to be traded and I think cars the first of a handful so I'm not going to like over-hyped that as four cars a player. I mean a nice piece, you know, I I'm not overly excited. You're right. The two first-round picks is too much where I look at this in relation to the Patriots we talked about this on Tuesday is 4 a.m. To get a guy like Jimmy Garoppolo there has to be a trickle-down effect, right? So maybe San Francisco likes car and then they get car and then should be dropping becomes available something like that, but I'm not you know going to do jumping jacks and say the offseason is saved because the Raiders are thinking about trading car, right and I think the biggest thing with these asking price is is that it's nice to ask for two first-round picks your job. Actually get two first-round picks for Derek Carr and even old PlayStation. I can ask you for $500 for it doesn't mean it's going to happen. Right and the other days you want to I mean the offer stands but no no, I'm good. But then the other thing is is that you have a trickle-down effect that you mentioned of the Raiders are not out there actively seeking a trade for Derrick Car unless they can upgrade at the quarterback position themselves. So maybe they feel and I think the report that was out there was that they were going to try to take whatever they get from Derek Carr and package their own pics together to make a move for Deshaun Watson, but if they don't feel like that other shoe was going to drop that you don't just trade Derrick Cartwright. Nothing left, you know with leave yourself empty-handed and now they do but actually it's interesting. You said that cuz you're a big Marcus Mariota guy. I never thought he obviously had his moments. You don't think they trade Derrick car for you know, if you can get to First for Derek Carr if you think Mariota is only a marginal decrease in those two first-round picks will help you out. More than that gap between card Mariota like you don't think they might look to just do that. I wouldn't but you being as high as Mariota on as high on Marietta as you are I'm a little interested that you're not going to flirt with that possibility as well. I would if you have a team comes in and offers the Raiders a Godfather offer for Derek Carr and they do offer multiple first or multiple Hai pics then maybe you could talk yourself in terms of replacing car and like you said, it's not that big of a drop off from one to the other and and you can have that conversation. But I think with Mariota in card me to me, it looks a lot like what Mario dealt with with Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee a few years ago where Mariota because of his pedigree because of his history with the club was the starter to start the season. It didn't go. Well they make the switch to Red Hill and the following offseason is when they decide to move on from Marcus Mariota, so I actually feel like the Raiders and and the Patriots, you know as a domino effect, or maybe one year too early on this dead. Our conversation may be we're having this conversation next to offseason when Marcus Mariota unseats Derek Carr has the starter and if if not, when if okay fair enough. Marcus Mariota unseat Sarah car,

Derek Carr Jimmy Garoppolo Mariota Raiders Kirk Cousins Matthew Stafford Marcus Mariota Derrick Car Deshaun Watson Derek Derrick Cartwright Patriots San Francisco Derrick Ryan Tannehill Marietta Mario Red Hill Tennessee

Lamar Jackson gets his first playoff victory as Ravens beat Titans

"About the final game from day to of Wild Card Weekend the Ravens at the Titans. So Baltimore one 2213, it's Lamar Jackson's first-ever playoff win. Now. I always thought that the kind of narrative about well Lamar Jackson can't win in the playoffs my God still he he lost both games in two years like whatever. I I thought it was always massively overblown, but it was a hard tough fought game really interesting really exciting the Ravens against the Titans is it's really become a public library in my opinion and these two teams do not like each other at all.

"If it's the NFL playoffs, it's on Westwood one, but we still have business here. In Nashville, too, but it's left 20 to 13. Baltimore leading a Tennessee second five rod at their 37 yard line. What I love about, he said. Super wildcard, Super Super Super super duper Well do this year with the seven playoff teams. No, I love it. We've got a game here. The question is could that Tennessee offense, which has struggled since the first quarter mounted drive to find the end zone? Yeah, I mean, it's the Baltimore Ravens. Defense played extremely well. But since it's only a one score game is only they're only down by seven. So Derrick Henry is still in this game. So he still couldn't touch the football. We know you can take it the distance Any time he touches the ball. He just has struggled in this one. Your 10.18 carries 40 yards. No touchdowns A long run of eight for Derrick Henry. Total yardage. Baltimore 3, 55, Tennessee 209 and again. 126 of those for the Titans came in the opening frame. Ryan Tannehill breaks the huddle There. Is it all charged jury Joining us here on the program was a George I'm I'm doing the serenity down. It's not even accurate at all had Tannehill I believe, like fifth or sixth, but no. You know, you did not hear Rogers if you push the shot, Watson out of the top five more Ryan Tannehill. Yeah, so after six that would be five women. There you go. Here. Let me hear the top set. Aaron Rodgers and Pat Mahomes and Josh Allen. Obviously, er 12 and three Russ was four on Ben. We had Ryan Tannehill of five and two shot at six. S so explain to me how shot Watson, a man that literally has the most dysfunctional team coach organization. Preach, put the team on his back continuously day in and day out. Goes out. There has an incredible season by every metric you can possibly name on doesn't make it ahead of Ryan Tannehill. How's that possible? No. I mean, we both have the same number of touchdowns, two interceptions. The differences. Ryan Tannehill didn't thought about 70 74 throws. Yes, the differences right now that I 74 throws in the end of the day, Ryan Tannehill led the NFL in fourth quarter comebacks and game winning drives. Two shot. Watson couldn't muster one s so like, you know, if you were gonna talk about putting team on his back, but at what point did you put him on his back and Dragon? Don't win. The guy had four wins on the season, both of the bad defense's 13 statue. And in the year of our Lord 2020. I think we've got to be a little more nuanced with with our analysis here. I mean, um Yeah, you gotta You gotta take the totality of everything in the consideration. Throw for throw basis. First off you mentioned on fewer throws Ryan Tannehill's playing on a team that is putting him in a much better position to win first off. And has an offensive coordinator that is, by many stretches. One of the better office coordinates and lead shot. Watson's over here with his number one wide receiver Gone for the season is new number one rod receiver injured. Um, Coach fired, um, and continues to be as efficient as any quarterback in the NFL. His team's always losing to the defense's also terrible. Houston's 30th and yards for play allowed. Tennessee's 25th sound like that much different in terms of their defense is alright. I think George got this. So you know, I'm just saying, George George is bringing the heat tonight. Plenty of. There's plenty of things tol about supporting cast that I'm not debating. The Titans don't have a better supporting cast but the other day. Asked me for what quarterback? I gave you. My opinion. I understand why this is seems ridiculous. If give two shot. Watson was capable of putting a team on his back. Why hasn't he? Wow? Whatever. Whatever questions you had me I was gonna say he has And that's been clear since he was in college. Now you are the team on the fact that you believe in keep ER. I think CBR has some some beneficial components idea. It's very It's very similar to if you look at just EPA for drop back, Um there is very similar on guy think he cares a great way of measuring results. There's a little bit of nuance that needs to be done. You know, T o. You know, the results don't always Merrick process, obviously very bright. Right? Fair enough, But I mean, just look at these things. Keep er numbers here. This just randomly looking at them here just happened to click on him. I didn't have him prepped it anyway. Ryan Tannehill sitting here fourth behind Rogers, Mahomes and Alan. Let me scroll down here instead of finding Shawn Watson. Still scrolling still scrolling. See breaker, Mayfield. Derek cards shot. Watson. Never go ahead. 12th. And in Cuba. ER does it have any any weight or anything to anybody? Yeah. I mean, here's their sore loser. EPA per per point. No, no, no. Look on, I will use Pff grade over. Q B R any paper plates more predictive of future success or failure because you're trying to grade the process, right? And not the result, and Sean walked in, was behind only two other guys and get grades is the only Rogers and Brady. Okay, Holmes was write a few 10th the Plains like homes last two games. Pushed him out of the top two. Okay, Um what? But what Watson did that I thought was really spectacular. This year was never had like a catastrophically bad game. You never had a game where he graded below. 65, which for you drew block lovers was actually lost overall Pff grade below 65 on the season, so Um, you know, but that's kind of here..

"A moment like this, Ryan Tannehill Has the ability to throw the ball downfield and a J. Brown with that humongous catch. Get one step Montana. I'll put it right where it needed to be with Stephen Gostkowski and out this game Sloman of nervously knocked it through. Yes, he did say I didn't even know all of his teammates, but I'm sure he knows him now. And after the wedding, a J. Brown shining the spotlight on the offense. I won't say the word unstoppable, but it definitely definitely feed off each other, not benefit off him, you know. Don't stand back there. They got to at least acknowledge. No. Gonna give me more, but only when they do that, So we feed off each other trying to be unstoppable. Yeah, All right. So the Texans finish up with four in 12 despite the best efforts of efforts of Watson Remember, they traded their draft picks of the Dolphins will trap third behind the Jets. And, of course, the Jaguars number one that was in the Tunsil deal. So they've got a quarterback they've got. I don't know what I was gonna spend. What is it? You know, Leave that for you guys to determine like where that rank on the open jobs. They don't have a lot of draft picks. So where is the Titans? 0 11 5. They wrap up the ABC south. "Want to beat up, Mitch. I mean, I think I think you know. Well, I I feel like you respond to people who, you know, Say why you hard on him or It's because I just wouldn't approve wants. What did they want to? They want you to appreciate him or think he's a good as they think. I mean, like, Listen, we can all have different opinions. If somebody believes He's going to be the second coming of Aaron Rodgers. I don't agree with you, but you don't listen. Have your opinion. Just don't try to force it upon me. Because if you do, it'll fall on deaf ears. There are people who think he could be Tana hell or can be Alex Smith after they got out of there, first City. Okay, Now listen to Tannehill Licks. Comparison, I think is an interesting one, because that's the style you want. What you want is a quarterback that is going to be helped tremendously by an offensive line. Remember before Taylor Lewan Went out with an injury. I think both of their offensive tackles were former first round picks like that's a team that invested in their front five. They obviously focused on running the ball. And then everything comes off of that. I would argue to those people. Ryan Tannehill, even in his Dolphins days was a better overall quarterback than Mitch Woz. And I would certainly are you now that he's much more accurate quarterback than Mitch is proven to this point. If you I sent you guys, uh, text the other day. That compares statistically and you could make to statistics you know, sing whatever song you want them to sing in some ways. But over the last number of games, his numbers are almost identical other than passing yards to Patrick Mahomes. Like Ryan Tannehill has been a really, really good quarterback in this league for better than two years. Yeah, so that compares sends a tough one. The baker Mayfield's another one. I think Baker, who has been reckless at times and takes more risks than I've seen there that I would like to see. Um But I think if you look at the film closely, Baker now he functions inside the pocket. Better than Mitch. Listen, This is not a hey leads paying on Mitch Parade. But if you want to make the comparisons You know, they're they're they're they're hard to make. They really are right. This isn't about like this is about the people saying, Hey, I think the Bears are better off staying with Mitch. And and maybe he's finally arrived just three years later than you wanted him to hear Sam Anson, who does a good job on the pro football focus. This was him today when it was brought up that people want The Bears to sign Mitch Travis Key to a long term extension. You've gotta hope not right. Like for the for the sake of the people that support the Chicago Bears..

"Him take over games, takeover Syriza and actually win them by himself. That's the only reason he's in this half only generate 20 points. But against Washington defense that is one of the best in the NFL. I mean, that's that's why they've gotten to the point where right now they've got a great shot to win this NFC East. It's been only because the defense Russell Wilson came out soaring out of the gates. He's come back down to reality a little bit, but yet still Russell Wilson in post season football. What's what that organization does offensively. Again. Another defense that is that is a failing defense. But in the last few games has shown to be a team that can be competent defensively and get back to never at this point, the Seahawks defensive old with a legion of boom A decent enough to allow Russell to go out there and win games. And I do think hits postseason time. Russell Wilson could still deliver who if you could throw one more on the list? Would you like I would throw Brady? I have Brady it six. I mean, I think that's obvious. I throw Brady in the top five, but I just can't put him in there yet. We do some calls on this. So let's go to Cincinnati First. I'm just trying to make you happy. We'll go to Mike and Cincinnati. He says Tom Brady should be on the list. Go ahead, but he got Mike That baby's gonna be on the list. And he's about 10, The quarterback. His whole right handed spoke of super ranks got more space and all five of them guys. Ah, what him? No. Let them go like Freeze over, lady just not gonna work for me. I'm from I'm from the blast area. You can't let it happen. You can't say it's just you can't you can't defend putting Drew Brees had a Tom Brady. You just I did. I already did actually confronted cooler out there. If you could find a color out there, that's gonna call in and say the Drew Brees is better than Tom Brady. In this moment, It's not only about being better who do you trust more in the playoffs this year? Trust Drew Brees. More in the playoffs, and families thrown me completely because the number one thing in your life is trust. And I don't know what the what the what? The meeting of trust Now is to you if you're going Drew Brees, overtop Brady. At this point, I just accompany you Keep Jordan. You know, you've got some friends you go out with sometimes I'm like Addressing him so much now about this man name so they're talking about Then there's other guys around like, stay for a week. I could care less in this situation. I trust Drew Brees because of the company he keeps around him. Tom Brady this year. I'm not so sure how Brady just came off. Incredible. Second half. He did, But I guess the Falcons I understand against the Falcons, and I'm questioning his head. Coach's decision is defense has been suspect, like, Come on. I don't trust the guys around him. If I'm just waiting for you to put mentioned your biscuit on the list now, Okay, I'm I'm not just wait to see what happens. A drunk this come in another color, Lamar and Tennessee. I'm going to him because neither of us have Ryan Tannehill on our top five and Lamar in Tennessee says No Ryan Tan. He should be in that top five e. Don't see how Ryan Tannehill is. Open in that 24 games since he took over for the Titan is completion rate is over. Patrick, My home is to be rating is over. Patrick my home through more touchdown to Patrick my home. I think we even have the number one offense in the league right now. He got two great receivers or running back. I mean, I just don't know how you leave that guy out. I'm a big time. 31 touchdowns, five interceptions. I'm a big fan of Ryan Tan. I remembered. I'm a big fan of the science team. I just haven't seen enough from Ryan Tannehill, which is crazy to say, because, like, what did they do that last year They went out one and they beat the Ravens, and he's still got a guy like Derrick Henry. So he's not feeling he could just hand the ball whatever, and he makes good decisions with the football. But He's not like to me is not one of the greats yet, but he's got Derrick Henry there who leads the way and they play off each other beautifully. We saw that post season last year led to him getting paid both of them this past year. Right. Daniels had has had another really good year. I think he got snubbed on the Pro Bowl this year, too, But I mean, who really Mars? It makes a good point. The Titans are second in the league in total yards as far as offensively go, because it Z balance if that's what you want. If you're gonna picket offense and tried also, we have faith in the quarterback. You want one who has balanced who has playmakers on the perimeter. Good running game and a quarterback who can go out there and make things happen. If it comes down to Hayward behind go in the game, right, 10. L could do that. I think I'd probably put ride downhill. It's six. So I'm not mad at that caller I liked. Here's I guess. When I look at these list that we both have what we have in common that all these guys can sling it, right. Rogers, Mahomes Alan bringing Freddie It's not what we all have in common. True Breeze cannot sling it anymore Morning when it push comes to shove, if you need if you need Drew Brees and we we both talked about big Ben. He's nowhere even close this especially after last night. But if you Relied on Drew Brees to throw a cannon down field at one point in the game. Yes. Can you do with the way my home's a Rogers or Alan could do it right now? No, But I wouldn't count today. Maybe not me because there's 11. Real ribs aren't healed, like Let's cut him some slack here, but in a week or two. Yes, I think he could do that. Ryan Tannehill relies on the run is he should That is what the Titans bread and butter is. They rely on the run. That's who they are. We are who we thought they were. So that's probably why we don't think to go to Tannehill right away. Tom Brady will be playing high level football next year for the Bucks and have them in a position to be very relevant. And next year Can you say the same about true Breece? And why can't you say the same about your breathe? I don't know if you're breeze coming back next year, And why is that Because he's old. Because he doesn't have because he doesn't have it anymore. And it's time to hand you know you are calling these old cubes out left to right. This one big Ben doesn't have it. And Drew Brees doesn't have Alexi. You go out and sling a football. If that's going to be the baseline in the conversation, I'm I was critical of muscle. Show myself the door right now. At this point, it's just Drew Brees is one of the all time greats, it goes without saying. Drew Brees. It is now at this point. No longer the guy that he was. I just can't wait cannot wait for Jamis Winston to get his shot their New Orleans I cannot wait for the moment. Right redemption. Let's mark this down. When Jordan says the books are going to go further than the Saints are in the Super Bowl. Let's mark this all dogs. That's essentially what he's saying or we've got more calls. We're gonna get to him after SportsCenter..

"There was a busted coverage and he was able to catch a bullet about 15 yard line and take it in for the remainder of a 38 year touchdown pass that through the Texans within a score. It's 14 to 7. The Colts leading to shuttle lots and having a really solid day despite those four sacks, he's 10 of 12 for 139 yards and a touchdown and he is the Texans within a score, but the Colts have the ball. Facing 13 6 from their own 34 with two minutes to go in the first half, Don't lately. Okay a little over four minutes left in Tennessee. That tight is comfortably in front of the Lions. Let's get more from Brian Douglas. And every time we've talked today, something is happening all sometimes at the last moment. So the recent developments these third was a third and goal on the one for the Detroit Lions. They Kwan Jones hit the Andre Swift is he tried to jump over the pile. Will Compton falls on the wall? Titans get it 1st and 10 on their own three, a two yard run up the middle for Derrick Henry and then Ryan Tannehill is just Act in the end zone for a safety by Rubio Okara. Excuse E o. Cholera Sergeant has pronounced that Detroit fans but, um, a sax or Ryan Tannehill goes down, so the Titans had just had a moment, um, shifting place. And two plays later. The momentum shifts back immediately to the Detroit Lions. As with the safety Matthew Stafford and crew going to get the ball back, Stafford, despite that rib injury is 13 of 18 passing for 118 yards on the flip side, Ryan Tannehill Prior to that sack, seven of eight for 133 yards. Derrick Henry, now up to 13 carries 72 yards following the safety titans about to attempt the free kick and they still lead 21 293 31 left in the second quarter. All right, thank you very much. Andrew. I mean, Brant Douglas in Tennessee. So the line's defense trying to a the offense right now and cut that deficit. They have So 21 to 9 is the count in national lets had to Minnesota, where the Bears are running all over the Viking. So far, this first have a surprising result thus far. Let's get more from Erik Nelson. He got rich, and we could have just seen a huge swing play in this game. The Vikings had it fourth and one from their own 34. They sent the punt team on the field. And then, after a Chicago time out, they bring their offense on the field, and they stopped. Minnesota. Dalvin Cook was stuff they went for the first down, didn't get it, and the Bears were coming out very aggressive on their first play. Jimmy Graham catches a pass from Mitchell Travis Key all the way down to the 25. So that's a plus 13 good chunk play, and it's 17 7 Chicago now 5 22 to go in the second quarter and this new look, there's offense to creativity. Billy's or the offensive coordinator in the head coach Matt Nicky. They tinkered with things a couple of weeks ago when they brought Mitchell too risky back into the starting lineup rich and they're trying to suit things to his athletic skill set. I think they've done a great job and let's not Forget David Montgomery has been running the ball extremely well. He's got 58 yards on the ground and a touchdown run on the Bear's last drive from one yard out. So the one your player from Iowa State, it's Chicago can establish the running game. It takes a lot of heat off of tradition. He does ever touchdown pass that Darnell Mooney There's also having field goal from Cairo. Santos. Meanwhile, Minnesota's only score Is a touchdown throw from Adam feeling catching it from Kirk Cousins from three yards out some of the numbers in this game cookies run for 44 yards, Montgomery 57. As I mentioned one score for Biscuit 109 yards in the air cousins 64. Both quarterbacks have one touchdown pass bears on the move again. As they have it in Minnesota territory for 18 to go in the second quarter, leading the Viking 17 7 here in Minneapolis. All right, two minutes left the first half. It has been a very quiet one for the Dolphins, who have yet to score. But right now in New England territory, trying to change that here is Jack Arm, Priester. Yes, they are rich. They thought they had taken a 63 leave planting a PhD Xavi and Howard picked up a Cam Newton fumble returned in 86 yards for an apparent touchdown, however, on the automatic review after every scoring play was determined that Chris Wilkins, Christian welcomed the defensive lineman had touched the ball while he was out of bounds and therefore turning the ball back over to New England. They break they were able to convert that drive to a field goal. They have kicked a pair of field goals. Nick Folk with a 45 daughter and a 36 yarder. We're the only scores in this game. The bigger new stuff on Gilmore on the on this drive Him to plant his feet and got turned around. He twisted his right knee very badly. He was down for about three minutes. They took him into the injury to the blue tent. The injury tent. And they assisted him to walk off the field and into the clubhouse. We read the two minute warning here. So it does not appear to be good news for the Patriots in that regard, because he could not put any weight on that right knee As soon as we hear more we, of course, will tell you for the game. Tagger below eight of 11 for 68 yards, that one interception Cam Newton, eight of 15 for 66 yards on the ground. The Dolphins with 71 yards. Russian Shell on up med with 10 character 46 yards. And, uh, Mike Brita, three rushes for 17 were at the two minute warning. Dolphins have a third and one at the 47 yard line of the Patriots. As they try to get points on the board. They will get the ball back to start the second half Ridge. All right, Falcon, uh, make that dolphins fighting for a playoff spot so far, eight and five and have a lot of competition from the Ravens, among others, who are also eight and five very crowded. A F C right now, The 40 Niners have just drawn closer to the Cowboys. Let's get more from Bob Stevens. OK, the Cowboys were just leaving. Another included seven and the 40 Niners. They moved the ball to the Dallas two yard line fourth and goal. They went for it, and I'll cross that called it a pass from moments. Two yards, Brandon, I awoke. It's a touchdown for the 40 Niners. So they end up going 75 yards and 13 plays to get closer for a moment, now eight for 13 for 96 yards and two touchdowns, a couple of big plays in that drive for him. 19 year old pastor lost dwelling on a nine ordered dwelling and then a 21 yarder to which is important. "Do we believe if Donald is salvageable to what extent gazes done, So the question is, you know what I say. And Donald goes something revive his career? Uh, no, He's not gonna go somewhere revived his career. It doesn't. This is how it works. Mean Ryan Tannehill's. The only person is that it's done it really Collins did it, but that was a different era man. Carrie Collins was It wasn't about filling the football 45 times and being, you know, in this explosive wide open offense. Carrie Collins came to the New York Giants and we ran the ball 35 40 times a game right? He way drafted a tight end Jeremy Shockey, who Was ahead of his time. And you know it was that miss massive that we now see a lot of tight ends fall themselves into Carrie Collins fell into a great situation, um, and resurrected his career, maybe pulls into a good situation. Maybe Ryan's baby, but pretty good, But I don't think Carrie left. I don't think he got it. I think he was pushed out of Carolina, because, um Because of town. I think it was. It was a lot of other mitigating circumstances, including one that we all know he's wide open about as he was alcoholic on. He's been dry ever since Ever since he came to New York. I commend them for that. I love that man. He's awesome. Carrie Collins, and but it was a different era football. You don't get that there's no patients anymore in the NFL until He said. Sam's gonna be damaged goods wherever he goes, and it's a shame, but he may get an opportunity. Just like Ryan Tannehill got Montana was damaged goods when he came to the game to Tennessee. But he got an opportunity, because, um, um Don't forget his name. Mayor Marcus Mario to just couldn't get it done and was ineffective and he got his chance. And he took advantage of it. I mean, I can't prove this. So I think that The Bears would be a little bit better with Donald playing this year. Mm Alan Robinson and maybe Gunnery, Maybe, maybe. Maybe. It's just after nine o'clock on the West Coast the Free Agency of negotiating window. I guess whatever they phrased. This thing has opened So it's GONNA be coming fast and furious with moves over the next twenty four hours as we're recording this we've already had a bunch of interesting Moves that have taken place including some big signings big recycling. I think the biggest one came down on Sunday. Ryan tannehill riots. He'll getting a big back from Tennessee. Titans to remain there long-term starter Averaging twenty nine point five million annually and what it does is enables. The Tennessee ties to continue to move into direction that they were moving successfully at the end of the year Ryan. Tannehill played terrific football for the Tennessee. Titans passer rating of running one. Hundred Seventeen did a great job a spark in this office. Push the ball to the playmakers on the outside. Aj Brown Corey Davis were involved. Johnny Smith and then when you have big Derrick Henry running the ball effectively it just worked for the Tennessee. Titans I can understand why John Robinson and Mike Gabel wanted to continue to kind of play this game with Ryan Tannehill. Because he plays so well for them. I don't think they really saw the need to go elsewhere to see if they could find someone could upgraded. Qb One spot. And I got a lot of grief. Gruff on on social media is I was asked by. Silvano is Ryan Tannehill Championship. Caliber quarterback and I did not stutter book. I said yes. Yes in this system absolutely. It's there's very few quarterbacks and we talk about all the time you count them on one hand the guys you can put in any system in any surrounding and say all the championship level quarterback most people at that position are dependent on their supporting cast in the way that they built that team the way they played football last year. I mean they were in the championship game. You're in the AFC championship game with the lead on the chiefs. So how can you look at the way? They've played football with Ryan Tannehill quarterback and say they can't be a championship caliber team. You add a couple of pieces here and there. Their brand of football he fits it makes sense. It absolutely makes sense and the reason why it makes sense because you talked about it. The overwhelming majority of players not just quarterbacks of players are system players meaning. They have to be in the right system. That fits their talents. What we saw in Tennessee when Ryan Tannehill is placed in a situation where the office is really geared to what he does really really well he can play at a high level and he played at a high level Tennessee. When you get to the championship game. I don't think there's any question whether you can say. A quarterback is a championship caliber quarterback. Because he got you step away from the game now did he. Throw the ball all over the yard in the postseason. No but I think what we have to begin to do is separate some of the stats from how a guy place I think. He has played the game in a winning fashion for the Tennessee. Titans that whatever their formula is he is a perfect fit for that. And whatever you have to pay starting quarterback that's what you have to pay but how they play is more important when it comes to building the team and I think for Ryan Tannehill. He's the right guy for the job in Tennessee. I agree with that. One in another Quarterback development we had KIRK COUSINS. Who just did a two year extension with the Minnesota Vikings bunch new money there? But I can't help but think that some of that is from an accounting purpose. Obviously it's great for kirk cousins He gets some more money in this deal more security but I believe that had to factor in with while they just franchised. Anthony Harris the safety being able to move some money around a little bit free that up. Yeah they were able to free that up and I think I think kirk cousins is another example of what we talked about where Ryan Tannehill in a championship quarterback in a system Kirk cousins in this system is been proven that he can play at a high level Gary Kubiak Rosa System. That is very similar to the way. That kirk cousins thrived in Washington Is TO RUN. Game is to complement a replay passing game. Some of the movement based passes their works he has to add the supporting cast around. They have that in thelander. Stefan digs Dabbagh. Cook I believe is one of the best running backs in football. They have all of that and we have seen when all of that is working. Kirk cousins plays at a very very high level and so a lot of people have taken shots at Kirk cousins because fully guaranteed contract and rightfully so but that is a manipulation of the compensation system and a franchise tax. When it comes to looking at him he is the right fit for what Gary Kubiak wants to do. It makes sense for the Minnesota Vikings to not only get some relief by sending them to a deal but also keeping them in place. When you know that Mike Zimmer and Gary Kubiak might be around for awhile yeah I think it's a good fit and I think kirk cousins getting comfortable there. I think you saw that happen and now I think he's earned the trust of those teammates. He's become a leader on that team and you can kind of see him I think he'll get a chance. Play his best football going forward here with this team. There was a lot of pressure on him. After signing that contract I think last year. Just being able to accomplish what they're able to accomplish in the postseason just ease that burden a little bit there on kirk cousins and. I think you'll see him play like somebody who's relaxed and relieved and even take his game to another level Next season another bit of news. We had book was Claire Campbell. Getting traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Baltimore Ravens. And this was to me kind of a classic in Baltimore. Move Ozzy's not charge any more Eric. Decosta is is running the show. But Eric Spin their drowsy forever and this was just a great value. Basically it was. Just you gotta eat the money and they ended up doing a new two year contract with collapsed Campbell. Think two years twenty seven million. The jags wanted to move on at customer. Fifth Round Pick fifth round pick. They acquired by trading their backup kicker last year so cost them nothing. It was an incredible. Move there for them to get this done with collapse Campbell Dj. When I look at this deal this is interesting because you talk about this being a classic. Baltimore move where they find value. They eat the money but they bring on a really really good player and I. I think it's interesting because when I looked at his defense the defense plays will make no mistake. Everyone gave wink. Martindale a ton of credit. Athey he desert a lot of credit. Because I think he was still playing a little short handed when it came to the pieces when you get a big body upfront delays Campbell. A guy who can rush the passer guy who's also stout versus run. You've alluded to this. They like left up front and so in their three four with these big bodies and being a defensive end played five technique in the light. It really works with them. I think on the other side. I think here's where I'm curious. Because you've given up a proven commodity and Callejas Campbell. Who even though he was older. And You bring back a fifth round pick. And if I'm Doug Marrone and I'm David Call will I love having like picks however it seems like maybe they're on a short term notice? Kin You hit it out the park in the draft where the young players that you bring in a neighbor you to win enough games to sustain yourself so you can get to twenty twenty one and twenty twenty two when you can do the four reveal yeah. I mean they have a boatload of picks and you know people forget not only they have a bunch of picks in this draft. They've got an extra one in next year's draft as well So I would not be surprised to if you saw them. They're going to trade. I'm assuming they'll probably end up trading in they'll probably get at worst two-book but hopefully you're you're going to get a one there Maybe they push I make sure see if they are able to get a one way if they push to get one in this year or if they push to get one next year because we all know. What's out there kind of that lottery ticket? That people are looking for next year's draft the quarterback for sure for sure and this is the thing because this is You know internally if you're the Jacksonville Jaguars Organization like what is your long term plan with the Front Office and Hey coaching set-up that you have because of this is a long drawn out thing where you have two or three years and you've been assured eight these guys are going to be here for a while we're GonNa let them do a rebuil- within you are Kinda Loading up the war chest to be major factors in twenty twenty one when it comes to the quarterback class and having a little more flexibility even in this draft class. I just think it is really really tough because you WANNA turn those picks into players and how quickly were those picks turn into key contributors and players either this year and beyond a lot of pressure on David? Call will and those guys to get it right. Typically they've done a really good job of drafting well particularly the first round but now they got a draft will develop them and get them on the field and playing will right away..

"The day stat of the day here comes that what stood out of the yeah Rogers manning and Brady were all NFL MVPs in those seasons but the QBR for Ryan Tannehill was incredible if that's the case then why weren't more teams interested in mind was anybody else interested around ten a like I didn't hear your one team go eight teams are interested in Ryan Tannehill I I understand what Tennessee did and if you keep very cannery and you keep Conklin they're great offense of linemen okay but if you don't keep their cannery I don't want Ryan Tannehill fruit for that amount of money but but he to me is less risky than Tom Brady is I'd rather have Ryan Tannehill as much as Brady's mail place in history is firmly cemented I'm not sold on him as my quarterback like the Niners I didn't understand that at all well if you have Brady can win the Superbowl you were a couple of batted passes down from winning the Superbowl and how bout you play defense in the second half you might want the Superbowl but Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee okay he kind of fits who they are that personality there they don't take a lot of chances antenna hill don't seems like he's the right guy for them and that's the going rate for a quarterback I don't I don't begrudge anybody like dak Prescott is going to be the highest paid player in the history of the sport does he deserve it no use of the going rate yes yeah it seems like the Titans might have been in a weird position where it's either pay him the full border pretty close to the full boat or start over at the quarterback position and they're too good to start over like if they were seven nine last year six and ten they don't have to worry about it they can go in any direction quarterback but they were too close yeah I'm a club yeah by a passer ratings in old schools that it's just touchdowns interceptions right like all those guys don't throw picks so Bork war if you want to talk about those that's a rate okay thank you but out with the patriots have been interested in ten L. is that one of the potential suitors I didn't hear anybody interested in running ten I I didn't I didn't have any you know breathless reporting from the mother ship where you know X. number teams are interested in Ryan Tannehill if he would happily like everything's been about Tom Brady and bill not Ryan Tannehill going back to that I I will say though there been reports for a while that he was going back there I think Ian Rapoport was saying that he's going back to Tennessee we just didn't want to believe it because we're hoping for you know something to happen there because if he's not there then that means the Tom Brady is you know probably going there all right what else with them all right I really go bad you want to really go bare pole or another and I felt give me another NFL one okay hi this is Titans related would you invest more in Derrick Henry or Jack Conklin more hypothetical which is more valuable running back or tack we know tackles get paid more but what should be a bigger priority for Tennessee there's a lot of people say running backs have no market so why are you gonna pay having a lot of money but it felt like he was the difference for that team because you control the clock and he just battered the defense and wore them down there for ten hill didn't have to make that many place but Todd Gurley got a big contract in there and didn't hold up yeah I know different running back different and I look I do I wanna in over invest in Derrick Henry know as much as I love watching them play no no no no no if I get five years out of a running back and he's use like that but I feel fortunate there like Jack Conklin is a guy that you can keep for another five to seven years and middle could be at Weill hall of fame caliber offensive lineman you know look for the Cleveland Browns to be interested in Jack Conklin though if they get the opportunity there the apple you can go back to Dallas years ago Dallas had demarco Murray member him eighteen hundred forty five yards thirteen touchdowns imagine if they were given a twenty five year old demarco Murray a big long contracted in he made one more Pro Bowl intendancy rushing for twelve yards he's out of football you play three more years after that monster your weight eighteen ninety yards the market Murray would have been a horrible investment Todd Gurley is gonna become a horrible investment we already is yeah yeah but it running back you don't spend night dear canneries probably gonna make ten million dollars even though his value to that team you could argue he's is valuable to his team as any other player in football but it's the position you know we we abuse the position those you know in that position and then we just move on it it's the one position that feels like you know we we can just enjoy what we see for five year window then we move on you can just discard your running backs it's like what Dallas with Zeke Elliott I would have re signed him I think I can find a running back with that offense of line I think I could find an offense running back who could be it a guy could get you know twelve hundred yards it feels like all right we'll take a break phone calls are welcome as we have the best and worst of the weekend I told you what I watched over the weekend I don't know if the Dennis watch anything else sports wise Tyler in the next segment in the meantime if you want to get in eight five five two one two for CBS big sports news today is the passage of the CPA the CPA approved by the Players Association by a razor thin margin of just sixty votes one thousand nineteen votes not to nine hundred fifty nine no votes one thousand nineteen days under fifty nine mais maybe the biggest story in terms of the numbers is the five hundred guys who didn't vote you know of five hundred the it which just shocks me when you consider the direct impact this has on these guys the direct financial impact it has on the rank and file V. minimum salary guys two thirds of the league's minimum salary guys obviously the big names that were speaking up when this CBA was first approved by the owners a few weeks ago actual so this CBA is approved the league the NFL is gonna move move along with free agency as planned little surprising I guess only because everything else seems to be getting postponed not surprising in that it's the way free agency set up in the NFL you don't need anything more than a computer a phone do they still use fax machines maybe I don't know but it's all done virtually you can't visit with any of these free agents if you're looking to sign them from other people's teams you can legally tamper with them starting at noon tomorrow that's fine but you can't have them come in for a visit until free agency begins on March eighteenth and that's what it's a land rush all the guys were worth signing a lot of them get signed without even visiting a place so I don't think it's that big a deal that they're moving forward with it I don't think it's endangering anybody I don't think it's putting a crimp in anybody's free agency so an interview with Chris Harris the quarterback for the Denver Broncos on TMZ over the weekend and he was asked about his process how long it's gonna take he's like I mean free agency is gonna start and I expect to be signed by the end of the night to these guys know the cities you know I know some of them take visits one of them take visits eventually because one they're good enough players where they can wait if they want to teams are gonna leave cap space for them most of these guys the better sign because the cap space for the good ones it gets used up pretty quick so the team is operating more from a position of strength in the players from that standpoint so that this doesn't change anything of the sort of free agency is I'm not surprised from a functional standpoint because they can do the same thing that they've been doing eight five five two one two for CBS so we are operating in the sports world in the in the actual non sports world with this dark cloud of Soviet nineteen corona virus over us more more parts of the country are being quarantined more more places are being closed I saw today Ohio said all bars and restaurants closed my guess is that's going to start to spread throughout the country V. V. extreme caution being taken and I'm fine with it follow instructions I'm not frightened by the disease but I'll follow all the instructions because I know that this disease typically does not mean the same thing for a young person as it does for a much older person now my age are more towards the old people but I'm not at the age where it's really been impacting people I am not looking to make history I'm not looking for people to see if we might got fifty one year old sports broadcaster wow this can happen to anybody but you gotta heed the warnings and sometimes it takes a prominent voice to issue the warning in order for it to be heated up a lot of times these being sort of a nameless you know kind of obscure people on Twitter who have some sort of government title they're just telling you to you know they're they're part of the CDC or they're part of their their their somebody who's maybe part of your local government do you like yeah yeah whatever sometimes it takes a big name to step in and tell you all in may what to do in in the state of Louisiana they could not have picked a more prominent voice to do that with coach ed Orgeron what is your name okay says learn the playbook that's true in football that's also true as we take on the role of ours the spread of coronaviruses servers well well there's a game plan for Cuban residents are safe as possible everyone has a role to play as with phasers channels together cover your call would you L. bowl like this wash your hands thoroughly before forty seconds if you're sick stay home if you think you should be tested for the help of a lot of force avoid close contact with anyone who's sick or take your address family members including EE if you're not a real state care as you go about your daily business get the facts I'll barge dot go and your state health department we're all in this together live stream up to protect our health my favorite part about that other than ed Orgeron's voice which is the greatest thing of all time is that if ed Orgeron had been issuing the warning is recently is like two years ago maybe even a year ago the entire state of Louisiana would have been congregating more out in the open out in public in big events they were actually able to clear out the French Quarter tonight I was seeing some some video of the police driving through the French Quarter no big shock that the last one of the last parts of the United States two in here too an evacuation or a you know a disbursement order would be the French Quarter I've been many times it's fun it's hard to leave but if ed Orgeron re issuing the warning before he won a national championship the people Louisiana B. like whatever let's have an even bigger crawfish boil now let's head to the French Quarter you need to find a video online if I can find maybe a retweet it the best part is when he demonstrates how to cough into your elbow he physically picks up his arm and shows how to cough into into the elbow that maybe people need instruction on that maybe there you know maybe they're they're not sure exactly which side of the elbow to be coughing into nine eight five five two one two for CBS let's get a phone call in here let's go to buffalo talk to Dave Dave what's going on man Hey what's up Johnny upper stop bloody congrats on your your marriage man not thank you that's awesome dude couple points here one way and first off I want to start with the CBA and and the NFL are only the great deal I think once we get more football out of it these guys make more money our men it makes your really values that number one seed I mean going to be interesting to see how teams quiet at the end of the year do they want to play that extra game or not because now there's your record be resting guys as much I think that that we really need to see this whole coronavirus thing is is crazy man I'll say one thing I mean yeah I mean you know I'm a huge golf guy working the golf business and doc when that player's championship got canceled on Thursday night I I couldn't believe it I was really shocked that that whole thing played out Wednesday night to watch via ESPN with Scott van pelt and what's all the Oklahoma City voice young that that was that was like a movie man I I couldn't believe what I was watching it was crazy I mean those couple life to be honest with you I just we watch I mean because it was just scary how it all shook out so I'll take your thoughts on a man you know everyone stay safe out there and doctor next week but I sounds good day for you the phone call as far as the CBA goes.

"Sides of that agreement but let me ask you let me ask you because your for your fan your big fan do you trust Ryan Tannehill enough where he is going to turn into a pumpkin next year I still don't I thought he had a very effective season very nice but things can change very quickly I don't I don't wanna commit that type of money long term to Ryan Tannehill right because a one season I'll tag them and then we can talk about it after this next season that's two years in a row and maybe you figured it out go ahead that's also the same way because the media he is the reason that we made it to the playoffs are made you know I'm not the non that but at the same time and he way they do say gonna play also that that granted there came or you bring a mock up my man and you if you come on up and run the ball you line up and run the ball and I understand that you know and I guess whatever we had to have a throw he made it more often than not but now I I don't I have this thing about that is that that makes me back okay yeah go ahead by the job because you know we're not going to get anybody else but that's the thing and that's what I thought I told is I don't know you know if we do let him Walker if we don't bring jogging who do we get what we get because they're not going to resolve Marcus Mariota you know and I don't want to but I just don't know what we go in stock thank that bring tries in franchise and it is the best option because what I said are our number one priority has to be paid and Ron canning army pay and they're kindred yeah I I agree with you and Cody thank you very much for the call hello and into his prediction but what the hell if I'm Tennessee right now you're you're trapped in twenty ninth if you want to trade up for one of the quarterbacks I guess you possibly can in maybe you have it set but I still wouldn't want to do that it wasn't like you were twelve and four football team or nine and seven right to know that some good stuff I think Mike Rabal that a hell of a job I brought him up at the very beginning of the show if you have fifty million dollars in caps and I'm just looking out over the cap you got fifty million dollars in cap space it's one year if you go out there you pay him the going rate for a franchise QB for up for the franchise tag it's a hell of a lot of money but it's just one sees he's happy he gets a ton of money you can't be upset with I know you want long term investment if you're any any player we still get a ton of money you get the top five average I pay in the top five average go ahead and do it for one more year plus there's always going to be and I hate to give away what I can sell because I'm gonna get and bring it up next you have a possible work stoppage coming up in twenty twenty one I know the both sides seem to be encouraged right now yeah possible work stoppage coming out we get the Marie Smith on the players Hey might wanna get said there could be a possible to your work stoppage I believe any that's gonna happen but if I go in the next year and I don't I'm not committed to Ryan Tannehill then it frees me up to do some other things and then I could got to get all my ducks in a row because we're about to have a work stoppage of that's a possibility so for Ryan Tannehill yes it would behoove them to try to get a longer term contract take advantage of that be paid it's been a good story yet for Tennessee nine seven doesn't give you everything he's been in the fishing quarterback I'd pay him as the fission quarterback I'd franchise take you for one year I'm drafted twenty ninth overall in money to position a debt to do a trade up and maybe go after one of those quarterbacks I don't know if any one of those guys really give me the gusto on that you could I prefer to maybe help the football team in in make another deep run in the post season and a nice here eight five five two one two four CBS eight five five two one two four two two seven don Washington your next up on CBS sports radio go ahead the Niners lose will be led through before forty seven high school in but I feel they're gonna win just because they didn't comparable mine you will they be there were we little ball control was quickly he said on the branch first those who moved to a local long drugs for the red zone when they score you can then when the kids in close but the Texans to open twenty four no for you on the portable for for download for their own and use all without them fifty worn through several room ago blown out by one we after we reported quarterly for who the mariners team store plug that they're going to lose but they could either keep the guys on the bench and speaking of the hall of fame is the one where we will all of whom were we when we talk to you about it if you didn't have that last name okay gosh dot yeah I think we what why when where he won two super bowls over the best you will succeed in your you know he was only all parole three times the only key thing where is he one hundred and seventeen and we lost a hundred and seventeen years to build up a little three years earlier the morning was there in New York I just don't really have the whole thing work and if we didn't have that lives in a room we would really be talks you know but it is March the fifth my all done well done and done thank you very much for the call everything else is right is right in that and even on that I'll meet you halfway being a man and certainly doesn't hurt him I think it's a we beat if he were to just beat the if you were to just beat the Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger will bend office workers all a favor in his own right but we're talking about the best ever so if he beats Tom Brady twice the hall of fame isn't just about stats hall of fame is a museum and in awe and museums are about moments in historical moments and those are two very big moments in the NFL you look at the stats top five you can say whatever you want to buy passing yards anymore I think there's gonna be a logjam but he's also got the hardware I think is a hall of fame eight five five two one two four CBS coming up next the groundhog day again scan prominent CBSSports Rick excuse me captain this is your wake up call for the new track from wireless what's in them what if you had to fly this plane was sitting back in the cab I would have any control well that's what "Well enough you know many times Ryan Tannehill threw the ball considering the patriots okay your moment fifteen times he's not throwing it at all fifteen a tense Brian terrorism atenolol gaze staying straddles great how's your total is fifteen completions in the last two weeks fifteen completions come on now I know it's a the popular take now among people it's just wrong a new logo a ten then again he was hurt with Miami now I'm not saying gazes great head coach I'm not saying that Eric the enemy doesn't deserve an opportunity are you you ask me why you I would hire Adam gase I'd say because he had head coaching experience I believe that's valuable and because I thought he did a good job in Miami considering all the circumstances considering that he had met more and Ryan Tannehill's quarterback we get to the playoffs one year and be near five hundred team overall I think it's quite accomplishment the same way you can look at his jet seem as yours it while seventy nine considering all the one on so if you're a bit now if you watch gays week in week out you don't get the feel the guys all of you okay it head coaches in complete command and control easily over there on the sideline in the band straw plays look in the office she's an offense of got I'd rather have a head coach even as a guy who wanted or wasn't questions I wanted a guy who wasn't opposed to the Adam gase hire a guy who thought run is not bad after watching him for a year I was disappointed it Adam gase overall the head coach but let's not make a like Ryan Tannehill now all of a sudden is lighting up the league and gaze was holding impact fifteen completions in two weeks rebels full why would you throw the football you don't have to burn it down their throat smash mouth football Max's in regal park with a Max Hey good morning how are you doing good macs are you good morning good good good Hey so we could look here earlier caller ID I I read the nine page report that came out I think the reason they can let the larger help me with that the five million with the Max amount yes and no because you are you are correct I am sorry I missed that again on Twitter hit me with that too saying that he heard the five million was a mac so that's why they get it yeah yeah no no worries so anyway I'm a Mets fan I actually got an idea I don't know the day before but you might but hear me out it might be a little bit you know off the cuff or whatnot but you know if the Brody bandwagon and experiment doesn't work out right there is a you know there's a GM that's available now and the manager that's available now and it's not as crazy as it seems right they can reunite band Beltran you know the three of them together and you know new owner Steve calling someone who also needed second chances given I think that he was investigated by the FCC so you know what the perfect sort of you know opportunity maybe for the mess to get Alan well we know that who is about lose him I lose Lou now and her yeah he and snow on the is there's no way there's no I mean that would be the first of all the suspended for a year so you're saying after the year has up you're gonna get those guys back exactly yeah and perfect because you'll have Brody wagon and perhaps fail after another year right and people want to run out of power yeah but it will come out opposed to that or saying that that's not gonna happen but I don't know if I would go with Luna al and AJ hands I mean I you want because because because they seated in may and may have made a mistake in the the report found that they you know they they really didn't know how closely anything but but that being said don't plenty of MLB team give people second chances particularly those that commit heinous violent crimes against their you know has told friends and whatnot yes that is correct and I'm not saying these guys should never be employed again well you're talking about now not just players who do you know that things like that they just every time a front office members of my guys representing organization at the highest levels here with the general manager to manager so number one they have that marker ready on the record number two it's New York and I think there's a little more to it in this town I don't know how you could ever get past that I'm not saying they're going now can't be a luau can't be a hired anywhere else I'm not saying he should never get another opportunity but I don't think that opportunity should be here nor do I think it will be here anytime yeah yeah all right well I mean the latest will agree to disagree if you will so you're saying you think as a math and you would you would want those guys yes I think that they're they have a proven track record I think they have you know yes it's a little bit of a tarnished reputation no different than the Palin again coming in with you know having the FCC investigated and what not the other hand we the themes often take people that that I've done terrible things and and look at that right then I wouldn't compare this to you know domestic abuse or anything like that obviously it's a different it's totally different on that level thanks for the call Max but I will say that they had a bad culture there in Houston and ma'am for a reference that this is not just I also other banks in trash cans let the guys know what was common no they had a bad culture there an arrogant cocky abusive L. O. abuse of power type culture there and even the giggles on the players where I think was Bregman not sure was Bram pretty shows Bragman and one of the clips that I think John boy opposed it worries in a post game press conference talking about the other report resume what were you thinking on that two two page whatever was the two two page that you hit and he basically laughed it off mockingly as if now we know that he knew what was coming always a vacant no you gonna throw me a breaking ball or something like that were you knew now that you know that they were cheating what he was getting at they were so arrogant and then the way they talk to you know that that don't put a fired it during the postseason the way they talk to the female reporters and wanted the I mean where they think that this is here the Astros believed that they were above any penalty the Astros believe that they could not be touched they they stole something they cheated and then they got away with it and then they took it to another level I just kept going Hey this is great we're still hundreds of success then they take it to the next level and to me that's just a bad I would not want to hire guys from that also getting farther everybody deserves a second chance I don't think it's the worst thing in the world what they did but it's obviously not good and I would have on the meds I'm not lookin to bring those guys in any of the meds do move on from van Wagoner eventually in Beltran let's just say that it's not because of failure on the field is because of new ownership eventually comes in wants their own guys I feel you could find better guys then hands and lunar L. eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six more calls under the side one more hour to go before JJ after dark it to its Saleh caught on the fan you probably think that.

"Prospective member the criticism of Ryan Tannehill when he was here he was a game manager well that's what the that's what he's doing there could be a game manager there he's got you know a running game to good defense you didn't have that here great running game great offense of line and if you don't have it here right so it's it's it's not it's a different deal I it was funny it was it was funny listening yesterday to I forgot who did that game was a Dan Fouts talking about right terrible as being one of the the best long pass completion quarterbacks in football and then he was criticized her for being one yes well but you know what he made sometimes you just need I mean you know this sometimes I just need a change of scenery and it's not like it's going to be a and V. P. or anything like that but he's doing what they need to do to win without question I did see the Tony Romo of his contract is up it apparently reports claim that he's going to be no he's the analyst for a CVS is gonna be offered somewhere between ten and fourteen million dollars a year by by ESPN Kotte he is the best analysts that's been football a very very very long time is a total package is any man I mean yes the what is it what do you say when the one one of the but the Texans offense back got hurt you really says all he covers calcium man bigger Kelsey continually and they went over and over and over again Adam and that's one football game you knew what to look for the because of Tony Roma and you can stop it yeah and I guess ESPN really needs to make a change on that Monday night all my gosh it's terrible it's hard to listen to it top to bottom not I mean to bomb that because of cable in the fact there's so much so much football is that still you the I mean it used to be Monday Night Football was the marquee broadcast every week I think it is anymore it's the Sunday night game yeah and that's that's A. B. C.'s fall I mean there's no doubt about that they it used to be the place everybody had to be it didn't matter if you were a football fan or not either it's what America was doing on a Monday night yeah they take it off the network they put on the cable channel and they downgrade the announcers continually until it's you know it's a local broadcast you know when I I say that with great pride local broadcasting but it's not with the national broadcast should be it was special mother night football used to be a special and they can be again if they find the right play by play and color analyst M. right sideline reporter and write up of a pre and and and half a time show to the to do that as well to wake up one level boy I don't know how much your I love Mike to Rico I really do I'm not sure I think Romo can make anybody sound good but you do need a really good player I play that three will be fine they have gone from NBC remember he we went to NBC was it was when the as PM before that he was with ABC now and always with NBC as well okay well I think yeah forget about that maybe I'm a seven sixty guys look it was strictly calling it blood sport police arrested a couple they claimed baited a would be thieves and the stealing bicycles are so they could attack them and post the videos online the northern California couple allegedly lowered the fees with unsecured bicycles and then beat them just so they could post those videos on YouTube the couple repeatedly pulled off their scheme for months last summer and fall check out the videos the booking photos and more on the story Jenny it's in my blog Bailey's blogger WYO you dot com I think was given one tears in this country on French French imports yeah the champagne we're being asked to have sympathy for those champagne drinkers refuse to go drink anything else you know I mean there's also French wine red yeah that's why do I know but we would what we should have sympathy for what who are you we'll talk about that straight and seven to a traffic it's seven twenty in Israel's extend WYO days twenty.

"That Ryan Tannehill will be able to make any plays in the passing game as far as the Baltimore re ravens the reason the wind is very simple they're the best team in the NFL right now they are the best team the taste of cold as statistically they're the best team analytically they're the best team I've all tests they're the best team that's why the when they're just and that means something in the playoffs sometimes the best team just wins doesn't mean that the ravens are ultimately going to win the Superbowl but the reason they would beat the Titans is not any one stat or any one player necessarily although Lamar Jackson's performance goes a long way just they're better they're much better in the Tennessee Titans the reason why the ravens would lose is bad weather Lamar Jackson the forecast for rain has become a there's a higher chance that it will rain in Baltimore tomorrow and the one game that we have really seen bad conditions with Lamar Jackson he did not fare well when they lost to the San Francisco forty Niners so when they played the San Francisco forty Niners so our White Kirk cousins in playoff games we still don't know how Lamar Jackson reacts when there's bad weather and he's in experience in the playoffs as well but for this week his inexperience is in as much of a question mark for me as his ability to do what makes him so good and that is not only Ryan but also throw and throw for long distances at a time Lamar Jackson's success this season has largely been predicated on it fifteen twenty twenty five yard passes can you do that in the conditions tomorrow so that's a look at Saturday give me your thoughts five two two nine eight seven two who do you like Vikings Niners Titans ravens let me know when when we come back I will give you why the chiefs Texans Packers in C. Aksel when and why they will lose more drive time.

"Long before that Ryan Tannehill before that deadline dot colleges who went from being bands to being next man up in the same game he's back in the starting lineup for the Steelers they go to Baltimore it is pressure drafters undergoes pressure player coach team whoever heading into week seventeen I've got the trivia question Chris is under pressure to get it right if he does he get the first pick if he doesn't I do Chris is the question Travis Kelsey the chief site and log his five hundredth career reception on Sunday night football in only his seventh season two tight ends have more catches than Kelsey over their first seven seasons name one our goal what Tony Gonzalez now it would be Zack arts and or Jason what wow those are yeah yeah and I I I would I would not have gotten J. stood waiting for the amount of reception is there I didn't realize that one hurts who did come to my mind man I'm I'm I'm cold lately on these ones I'm having a deja vu kind of moment these all blend together for me but I feel like we had one of those recently where you thought it was Tony Gonzalez and the obvious choice would have been Tony Gonzalez but it wasn't now it Hey maybe and I said the wrong can night it was one of those I can't remember your right cells some alternate reality that may be induced by the fact that I fell down fourteen steps and survived and maybe I'm I'm go ahead exit out of twelve hours all right first one for me and and look this one's easy it's it's Jason Garrett it's yeah he he's he's got a win at any got a hope while he's trying to win that the giants are successfully beating back the eagle so it's double pressure one he can control sort of the other has no control over I think about that while you're trying to do your job there is another game being played fifteen hundred miles away or there abouts it is going to have a direct impact on your ability to continue to do your job could you could be Washington sixty two to three and still not making the playoffs not have a job the next day so there are a few guys under more pressure than Jason Garrett all I'd say he's under the most of anyone in sports this weekend now he only controls half of it yeah I know I'm with you yeah I I a hundred percent that was definitely the first pick in the draft you're right yeah it's not only about the pressure of he needs his team to win and perform well and watch it is been a pain in the **** for everybody lately but you're right he's got to have the pressure of I hope the other team the Philadelphia Eagles laser tag or the giants play well I I'm going to the other team because I think the said the guy that's under the second most pressure this week is Carson once the Philadelphia Eagles Carson Wentz I just look at him ago man he's a racist a lot of the the demons around him like you know ever since he got hurt they went on a one the super ball with Adam and Nick Foles he's he's quiet that this year a little bit because of course Carson Wentz is severely out played Nick Foles when Nick Foles was healthy in in the game so that stop but here as of late with the fact that the eagles of one games with a bunch of no names around him and he's playing still really well I feel like is change public perception a little bit I think people have seen like lately go wow this guy's actually really talented and it's funny how that has to happen but I didn't give you lose this game it all kind of gets a race where it's just gonna go back to what we are talking about early in the year all you can't win the big game or he just doesn't come through like Nick falso Carson Wentz my first pick of the pressure draft I don't know that it goes all the way back there but I agree with you that so far they have quiet all that noise that they kept the wrong guy I was one of the guys who thought they kept the wrong guy yeah and now I feel differently if they lose on Sunday to the giants though but you're right the only way we're gonna lose if one doesn't have a good game if he does have a good game with the season on the line a playoff berth right there then there's there's reason to question whether or not when it's really is the guy long term so I I guess I guess I reluctantly agree with you thank you although I think the next guy's under more pressure because Carson Wentz has gotten paid James Winston hasn't gotten paid and James Winston is two interceptions away from becoming the NFL's first ever thirty and thirty quarterback not exactly the kind of closing argument that you want to make when you are in a position where your current team is you're gonna pay you tag you gonna hit the market whatever and there were reports last week that the Buccaneers already decided to keep Janus once and I think it's a given they have to keep him well coach Bruce Arians said after that for interception performance against the Texans no decision's been made yeah they what they want Janusz to to think that they don't want to they want James I think nobody wants him they want to negotiate from a position of strength and if he has two or more interceptions on Sunday in the season ending game against the Atlanta Falcons they will have even more strength because who's going to want the guy who won thirty and thirty I mean that's going to be the problem you're getting an exciting and capable quarterback who's also an interception machine so a lot of pressure on him to avoid going thirty and thirty yeah and to finish strong with a kind of performing right to say okay yeah this guy deserves to be a starting quarterback and the Buccaneers don't want somebody else needs to pay him because he is in the top half of the lake yeah and I I agreed this probably would have been my second pick till and I'm with you in you know all the points you said very true added to the fact that if you just went out there and threw five interceptions on Sunday just played absolutely horrible it could just be like okay the hell with it we're done with via well I got a that's part of this still owed to where they were really might just go okay good so we we give up we can't break through to this guy he's an interception machine it doesn't matter so he went out there just laid an egg that way I think that could hurt him as well which adds to the pressure part of this whole situation so I'm with you I do think James what's is under a lot of pressure this weekend okay I'm gonna go to Devlin dot colleges all right that's gonna be my second pick not only because of the weekend the implications of the ravens Steelers game all we got bench last week and really only got to go back in because Mason route off got hurt and got to start this week because they have to put Mason road off on I. R. I think it goes far beyond just this week with the pressure on double adult cottages yeah the pressures real this week but this is the kind of thing where if he doesn't play good he might not be on the Steelers all next year they you know they may just go okay big bands back we'll have Mason rid of as a back up quarterback in you know maybe draft somebody else to come in and be the third guy or whatever it may be maybe they draft a first round quarterback this year for the future of the not sold on that so I do believe like Dublin dot colleges is almost he's playing for his career as a pet the birch hill or this weekend if he goes out there and plays like crap I have a hard time believing he'll be on that roster next year yeah I think that's it that's a good point you know one of the things we said last week a reason to go back to Devlin Hodges not Mason route off going into that jets game they need to evaluate whether not Hodges has a chance to be the guy post and rob this writer and I he he's not the guy sorry great story nice kid yeah he's not the guy they're gonna have to draft somebody they're gonna have to do what they did when I got Roethlisberger they can't go twenty years between Terry Bradshaw on Ben Roethlisberger they can't do that again and the and Hodges the answer Rudolph is the answer nobody on the roster currently is the answer Ross vers making noise he's gonna come back as good as ever next year we'll see if that happens I'm going to stay in the same game because this is RG three is opportunity even though he's under contract through twenty twenty this is an opportunity to put himself in position to maybe be a starter again some day I don't think he's going to pass the test and I think if anything he could jeopardize his status as the backup to Lamar Jackson in twenty twenty because I just don't think he's been impressive when we see him play and this year it looked good there's a gap between him and Omar Jackson and when you take Jackson out and you put RG three end it's an obvious gap and this is a if if he's ever going to re establish himself and or prove that he's the best guy to continue indefinitely as the number two Lamar Jackson this is chance starting quarterback against a good Steelers defense go out have a big day you're gonna have people who are planning ahead to twenty twenty one thinking Hey maybe RG three is a guy we need to think about giving an opportunity to come in and compete for a starting job so you got a lot of positive riding on it and I think the other side of the coin he needs to worry that the ravens if they say Mandel sure can we really trust this got a playful mark Jackson gets injured it may cause them to revisit their plans at the number two position next year yeah I I think all that is is very spot on I mean yes he's he's got a and that he's he's played well in the preseason Idalus last year he got hurt in the preseason all of it but the last two years I really liked what I've seen there he's not Lamar Jackson you're exactly right you could tell he just doesn't is not as physically explosives Lamar so as much as that offense is made for a quarterback like him to do all the right guy yeah it is running is not that on the level of the Lamar Jackson but none the less I think a very adequate back up if you can prove that this week and yes if he plays really well this week and then continues out another good pre season next year and all that it could set him up for twenty twenty one so yeah you're right there is some pressure on him there I'm going to the Pacific Northwest our game Jimmy garage below I think that's the guy I'm gonna go to is my last pick the pressure's been on of all year you know and I just feel like at the forty Niners go up there and land AG and he doesn't play well the law start again an old now Jimmy Karabagh as got to go on the road for the wild card game can they really trusted him and do all those type of things he's played well as of late and played well in some late game situations you know we saw play great in the thirteen sixteens against the rams last Saturday night they were impressive conversions and all of that but I still think this is a guy.
