Did you know that in the last 7 super bowls? Field Joel has been scored 5 times. So do you know when the last 7 super bowls twice a touchdown has been scored? Okay, well either team score points in every quarter. No. No for me as well. Yeah, I'm saying no as well. All right? How do we feel about this? At this point. I just hope Raheem and rob gray were paying attention to all of this. There's no kind of no chance. I like that because Raheem is going to text in an hour. Hey, what did you pick on? Oh, I can't remember. That was an hour ago. Yeah. So you're feeling pretty confident. Are you ready? How about you? So are you feeling confident? There's going to be a turnaround here. Either one of us catching Ferraro or probably not. I'm going to say probably not. Just based on the math, I think next impossible because we had some of the same picks, but I didn't think it was fair to just go straight opposite. I'm not that kind of guy. Well, you were early. All right. I had to get a chance. You think this is, is this game going to be, you know, there's so many questions as they're always is. And it was the injury now a distant memory with mahomes and all of that. This, for me, this potentially has, it does have the potential to be one of the better super bowls. Does it not? I think, so I don't think the injuries are distant memory. I think they want you to believe it's a distant memory. Just two weeks ago, he was hobbling on that thing pretty good. And high ankle sprains don't generally heal up that quick, especially when you, you know, it reminds me of the miracle, right? If he plays on it, can he make it worse? I feel like you'd make it worse. So yeah, I think it's going to be good though. I think it could be a real coming out party for Jalen hurts. If the season wasn't already, it was just a year ago that everybody was putting the dirt on him as if he wasn't going to be an NFL quarterback. So even though I think the chiefs will win, I would really like to see him have success. I think it's going to be a good one. I think there's a lot of fun players on each side. And I really love Andy Reid and his team as well. So I think it'll be a good game. I don't think it'll be a blowout, whatever it is. I think it'll be close. I do find it really hard to cheer against Andy Reid. I really do. He just looks like a guy I wanted your for all the time. Listen, the guy did they present him with a cheeseburger, like the man is my spirit animal, that guy. I feel like Andy and I can do some damage. All right, abs. Well, we'll get through the Super Bowl and then tease our hockey audience a little bit because post Super Bowl obviously next Tuesday. We'll start to drill down on the midpoint as we get there of the second half of the NHL regular season. We'll revisit some of the things that the title dots here is going on specific dock. Absolutely. Get to the Super Bowl and then we'll really drill them. A tease for that, I saw somebody yesterday post, will the flames make the playoffs, all the fans said no. The odds say minus three 33, yes, plus two 30, no. So there could be some fun markets to have coming down the stretch here. Oh, nice. Interesting. All right, buddy, have a good weekend. I mean, there's so much trade talk going on, Frank sir rally old buddy of ours is reported that Vladimir senko is headed to the New York rangers. So we're wrapping up the podcast. We'll have to dig deep on this next week, but just purely on the face of it all. What does a piece like Tara sanko bring to the New York rangers without knowing immediately how the finances are going to break down going back the other? Well, the way the rangers are lined up right now, they lost Dylan Ryan strome last year. They brought in Vincent trochek, kind of to replace strome to play with Panera. That didn't work. I didn't think it would work. I don't think their styles match. They both need to carry the pocket. So it doesn't work. So now they've got the bandage ad plane with Panera and Jimmy vesey. That doesn't seem like a top line to me. Like VCs had a really nice year, but that doesn't seem like the right guy there. So now they've got cried or playing with and Barkley goodrow. Good rule doesn't seem like the guy that should be there. So I could easily picture Tara sanko in either one of those spots. Instead of EC or instead of good drill. And that gives them a little bit more dangerous offense. It seems like those young guys play best together, kako la renier and Filipino, who's on just a red hot ripper right now. But I don't know, terrorists and it's just had a real quiet year. I get why they want them. He's a one shot score. Can he be that again? He'll be around Panera and I think that'll probably help. It wouldn't surprise me if vitalik crab sop is one of the guys going back in the deal the other way. He hasn't found blaze in New York. Maybe a guy with potential that might fit there in that deal. Yeah. And look, you know, juries go work to do. He knows this, no different than any other general manager Filipino is the other piece that he's going to want to lock down sooner than later. They gambled a little bit in this negotiation, right? See if he has a good year. Well, every time every time you turn around, every time you turn around, there's another goal going in and kids on fire. "That's sort of the younger guy. Joey Keane, he'll play in the NHL next season and a 2022 second round pick. That's sort of and I figure Carolina would ask for like a low pick back, which then split into like 5 picks and take up an hour and a half on the draft clock. On draft day. So that's my two Carolina Jacob chickering deal. You know, you're saying that when you're like, oh, you didn't call us to go, I'm like, what about Ethan bear and then I was like, oh wait, he's 24. That's way too old for Arizona's timeline. Also, also they need Ethan bear. Ethan bear's gonna be affordable for them next season. And I know he's been a little bit in and out of the lineup, but his results have been pretty good. Ethan bear is good. He's a good player. And he's perfectly suited for them because he's under team control for a bit and he doesn't have the counting stats to sort of price himself out. You know what I mean? In fact, I almost, I don't think they do like a long-term gamble on him, but I like that. I like where he's at for them. I think that makes a ton of sense. I'm going to be honest with you. I also had Jacob chakra into Carolina as my big trade. I had just a three way trade though. Nice. Let's hear it. And not even one that necessarily is like the little Detroit cat nonsense. So to Carolina, Jacob Chi. And Cal clutterbuck had 50% retained, Arizona, Noel gunler, Richard panic, Thomas Hickey, Carolina's 2023 first round pick and Martin ninjas and the islanders get Brady Shay. Wow. No. Wow. But if they lose neck ash. So we both got it. We both got it wrong. Nature's. If they lose nature's who like if they lose nature who replaces when he walks this is very cocky. They seem they're hoping car company. They just gave them. You think so? I think that contract though is like that contract to me just implies like middle 6. I mean, that contract they gave them is like pretty much exactly what Trojan who's just coming off of, which I know they didn't technically sign. I mean, obviously I agree with you that Chico is a perfect fit and Carolina. I just wrote a huge piece on him for he brings that is like 2500 words. He has exactly the skill set that they love. I mean, he's a great rush defender. Excellent stick in the zone. Really the only thing he loves to shoot it from the point obviously, we know that. He fits them to a T and the one thing that he doesn't do super, super well is past the pocket. He's not a great puck mover, which I mean, Carolina is the one team where that really should not matter any less, because he really would not be required to fire pucks up ice nearly as much as he would for a lot of other teams that are interested in. I will say maybe I gave up too much for him. Thomas, I think he maybe gave up a little too little based on what we've heard of what Arizona is asking, especially if they want to deal with that thing now. I mean, I didn't hear. I gave up Joey, I give up Joey keen alexey hamos on me. Jack drury Anderson Brown pick. That's four high quality features. There's no way nature is moving. I'm not hearing any blue chip pieces. I mean, nature's might be. It might be a bit more. But I can't imagine why Arizona would feel the need to move chicken without having at least one kind of big banner piece, let alone no first round pick. So I am skeptical of, I mean, at least LA must be able to beat that offer with any number of prospects. When you mentioned the chicken to the canes, I shudder, just thinking of the fact that the canes are somehow possibly take more point shots. It seems to work for. With the chicken in there, I know it does. They're so good at retrieving and getting it back, but yeah, I mean, he's a good player. And I am going to the kings and I know that's kind of like a very chalk pick, but I just think it makes so much sense for them in that it improves them whenever he comes back from this minor injury for the rest of this season and kind of allows them to sort of build off the feel good story of the fact that they're sitting in second on the Pacific right now while also fitting in with their general timeline of, okay, he's on the books for three more years after this one, so he can kind of grow with his team as a 24 year old. And they can justify making a moving a bunch of the pieces that they have in their farm system for him because they just have so many of them. I don't think it would bleed them dry by any means. So it kind of checks all those boxes for me. I don't know. I feel like I'm not particularly satisfied with the balance either of you struck in terms of what would go back in return. And I'm not sure what that balance would be for Carolina. This is a lot, but they definitely do need a one blue chipper back if they're moving. Because they have no reason to force moving them right now if they don't get it, right? Yeah. I mean, that was my thinking. You know, like looking in their system, I mean, he's not having an amazing season. This year, you know, he's got 9 goals and 29 points and 55 games. I mean, obviously, you know, we think the world of him, but I can see him being considered just kind of like a reasonable asset to be moved in this case. But I mean, LA is the logical fit in terms of where I think he would likely end up if he were traded, but I love the Carolina fit so much, and I do think theoretically they can make it work. Also, I mean, we're all ignoring the cow clutter book coming to Carolina, which I mean, he would be perfect in Carolina and Brady Shay in New York, Lou lamoriello would love the hell out of Brady's day. So the puzzle pieces they're fitting. I tried St. Louis at first, but I was told off by a lot of St. Louis fans that proposed it to. Okay, wow. There's a lot to take in there. Okay, so Tom, I have a trade idea to run by you specifically because I think you can sort of vouch for the likelihood that are sort of the inner workings of it. And for me, it is Conor Garland going to the New York rangers. And the reason why I bring that up, I know that they've been more so linked to the JT Miller and blockbuster has gotten a ton of traction, a complicating factor here is that the fact that the Canucks are working their way back into this playoff race and winning a lot of games and they might at this point feel more comfortable just waiting until this summer for the market to kind of open up a bit more and recalibrate and see where they're at and then make any big moves. There's also the fact that I think the rangers might be hesitant to take on a contract like garlands because he's got still much more term and future financial commitments to it and with the fact that their second line center position is still up in the air with Ryan strome being a UFA, the fact that Adam Fox and Mika have been a jazz extensions both kick in and are big pay raises. I think they're going to want to try to maintain as much flexibility as they can heading into the summer, so I'm not sure what that appetite would be. At the same time, everywhere I look at it, I feel like Conor Garland is aside from I guess being a bit smaller and they seem to have kind of gone in a different direction in terms of their team building under jury. It seems like in terms of what he actually fundamentally brings at a table. It's like literally the perfect player for what they need right now. I think at this point with how the Canucks have fared, I mean, look, we all have seen how this organization is functioned over the last 8 years, right? There's never been a shortcut. That they haven't been happy to take, right? That's who the connects are. So now they're going to sell one point out of the playoffs. I know they've changed management. I know that Jim Rutherford doesn't have the same skin in the game that Jim benning would have, but come on, that's not a leopard doesn't change its spots. I.

rittenhouse divided the country but Bloomberg's editorial board argued this week that there's one issue which has emerged from the case that everyone should agree with the dangers of guns at protests Statistics show guns at protests are much more likely to result in violence than unarmed demonstrations It's a troubling trend however not everyone agrees on this point In fact there are those who argue for more guns in these types of situations Let's discuss the editorial board's piece with one of its editors Bloomberg opinion columnist Robert George You wrote this column because Kyle rittenhouse brought a gun to a protest killed two people injured a third and got off without a day of jail time That's great That's why that's why obviously there was a lot of outrage and frustration on all sides of this case And the editorial board view was the jury made a decision We're not going to criticize that But I think one area where people should have some area of reflection and perhaps some agreement is that there's a volatility element when you bring guns to demonstrations And that is something that has been increasing over the last several years particularly in the 2020 pandemic protest moment that we're still engaged in You saw a whole lot more of that a whole lot more of armed protesters primarily on the right but not exclusively as we pointed out in the editorial You had an episode in 2020 during the briona Taylor protest where there were an armed primarily white militia on the one side and an armed primarily black militia on the other side and they were kind of staring each other down And a couple of days before some of the folks I think some of the black militia were injured because a gun was accidentally discharged So it's a volatile mix that we think that public policy folks and elected leaders need to take a close look at You have some stats about one in every 62 protests involving firearms results in a fatality Yeah that's exactly right Some of our friends over at every town for gun safety pointed and pointed this point of this out to us So while the rittenhouse case is an extreme example it's certainly not certainly not unique And when we are in a moment where there's an increasing number of red states that are expanding and encouraging open carry this is kindling for a potential bonfire later on 21 states now allow open carry After the Supreme Court makes its decision in the New York case there may be more That's two complex issues which are kind of on a merging The Supreme Court is looking at New York's ban on concealed carry And our view on that was that the Supreme Court should let that stand because in New York particularly which includes New York City and subways and things like that you have places where hot tempers could produce horrific results if it basically a whole lot of people are concealing concealing caring So that's one element And then the other issue as we said of the increasing number of states that are encouraging open carry is volatile for the reasons we discussed in the context of armed demonstrations So what are states or localities advised to do New York made what we thought is a very strong argument for urging the court to keep the ban on conceal carry Whether.
