"So like Stewart and Ryan have just an ounce of patience here. They're also like a little bit justified because they're thinking in their best interest and you know Ryan Palmer and Stuart sink are guys that were probably FedExCup ranked 70th to 140th. And so in the past, they would play during these fall events and play while the likes of Rory and rom and the best players in the world were maybe taking a break in the fall like this was a chance for them to mop up some points. Stuart sinks last victory. When did it come? It came in the month of September at the Fortnite championship. I think a couple of years ago, maybe it was the fries dot com open. This is when those guys thrive. And so they're just kind of being selfish and speaking about themselves. But the whole resistance to change thing just shows a lack of understanding, lack of awareness and maybe a little bit of ignorance on the fact that the PGA Tour is going to get bodied this time of year. It doesn't matter what kind of tournaments are being hosted doesn't even matter what kind of purses are being hosted. College football, pro football are going to body pro golf this time of the year. So I think the PGA Tour needs to do some things that it's doing to inspire other sponsorships. Like if they're worried about sponsorships being devalued in the fall, the PGA Tour has a pretty great record of creating sponsorships out of thin air. And I think that they're going to do something with its fall chase that will most likely be sponsored. So have a little bit of patience, Ryan, and stew. And be open to change because you're probably your PGA Tour career is probably wouldn't have lasted this long without types of change in the schedule already. Strong takes, Sean. I think you're spot on because here's the deal. These guys have been very good PGA Tour players. They've been solid, steady members with high points, but things have to change. I think that's been the lesson of this that certain people on the PGA Tour I guess are still resisting the idea that look, no, no, no. We're actually doing things differently now. This wasn't just a bunch of talk and now, okay, yeah, yeah, but we're all still good, right? It's like, no, no, no. This is Ryan coming back to tell Michael Scott how things are going to be a little bit different now. And they actually do need to adapt to new time. To the credit of the head of the Astros foundation, which runs the Houston open. He was basically saying, look, this guy's name is Giles, kibbe, KI BBE. I'm not sure how we're saying that one. But let's go with Giles kibbe. He said, look, our goal was always to get back to the spring anyway. If we need to raise more money to fund the sponsorship, to work on the purse, we'll do that. You know, we've got a bunch of great community sponsors here, really like the attitude coming from our guide Giles. I think that there needs to be an acceptance that look we are crystallizing these changes. The fall is something else now. The fall is going to be for

"This tournament used to have Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, and now you can not get these guys who live 12 minutes away to come play this tournament. They will go practice at another golf course in the same county instead of coming to play this tournament. So I get it, someone else will come in, I would assume and take over this tournament. You're right. If every tournament is special, none of them are not all the tournaments can be elevated, not everyone can be above average. Honda is justified to take their sponsorship money and bring it elsewhere, but the PGA Tour is not doing the wrong thing by letting this exist in its current form. What is tricky is the extraneous ways that this could go for PGA Tour sponsors. If this entire schedule alteration leads to fewer sponsorships, that just means that there are gonna be a couple brands like Honda that bow out. But that doesn't mean that Honda is disinterested in golf. That means that they're disinterested in sponsoring an event on PGA Tour, which comes at a very interesting time for Japanese automaker, an Asian brand that, hey, you know what? There's a lot of sponsorship opportunities that live golf. There's a lot of sponsorship opportunities elsewhere. It just is a very intriguing time that completely outlandish that Honda would be one of the first brands to get interested in sponsoring, I don't know. Live Thailand's event. I don't know if that's crazy or not. But it's an intriguing time to do it. Sean related related madness here. A nice dispatch from, well, our occasional golf dot com writer reporter art Strickland coming from the Houston open. Last week. Interviewed Stuart sink and Ryan Palmer among some other players and tournament organizers about the Houston opens future and they were mad about the changes to the tour schedule, specifically how that would affect the Houston open, how that would affect their own schedule. Ryan Palmer said the change to the fall. He said, I don't think it's going to go well for the Houston open. Vegas is worried about the fall, Mexico is worried about the fall of Houston should be worried.

"I am excited to watch the British open. I love watching an early, early morning golf, especially if it's a major. We can talk about it. We'll do another because we're doing more pods. We can have like a little preview with guys that we really do think who are Pixar after this deal. You know, obviously Tiger is playing Rory didn't play this week, him and Tiger have been going around Ireland playing courses chilling. Shit, man. There's a stack. There's a stacked field. It'll be fun to watch it 3 a.m. or whenever the hell it comes on. Yeah, so it comes on. I don't feel like Xander schauffele is through three holes right now. Okay? And what is it? It's ten 30 over here in Texas. I feel as if 6 hours, I think, from Texas. Yeah, but I feel like I feel like maybe it's, I remember like the lead groupie and through 9 at this point, right? Or something. I feel like they finished around lunchtime. But anyway, no, that's gonna be a hell of a hell of a deal next week. I love watching the British open. Besides the U.S. open, it's my second favorite major, then the masters, PGA, whatever. But I don't think anybody stopping Xander today. He's got a four shot lead currently over katayama and Ryan Palmer are Fort Worth boy, but RP. Yeah, I don't think anyone's stopping the X man. But next week, does Tiger make the cut, dude, I don't think he makes the cut. I just don't see Tiger ever playing great golf again. I mean, I think he could probably make the cut in a major here or there, but it's going to be cold and you saw how he played when it got cold in Tulsa. Southern hills that day. I mean, it was a nightmare. He did everything it could to break 80. If it's below 70° and his body's just not working that

"It shows you if you're kind of like a middling career vet, you know, I think that's a fair way to describe Ryan Palmer. Not bad, but never good that be nice to the rookies man. Be nice to like the young kids coming up like embrace them, be a little mentoring and then maybe you can get like a 5 more your exemption as a desert. I guess two years would be a two years, $1.4 million going to each of the winners and 400 FedExCup points go into each of the winners, which again, it's just a weird event. None of that is necessarily offensive, I guess. It just feels weird for an event with what feels like very, very little juice, but maybe that's just me, opining too much, but if this was an event where I think we've talked a lot about where, if women were involved, like if it was LPGA players playing with, would it have more appeal to you? Would you be into it? I want to say yes, I would, for sure. That's where I'm at too. And fully conscious of what I just got done saying about how wrong I was about my prediction for this team event. I do think there's something interesting to seeing. And you see it with some of the teams, I guess. It was maybe even with the burns and horschel team a little bit where you have burns is kind of swinging out of his shoes, firepower, let's make a million birdies and Billy is kind of like a little bit more fairways and greens. Let's hit it to 20, 30 feet, and hopefully roll in a couple. But we have like Xander and can't lay playing pretty much the same game. I mean, there's some interest there, I think, seeing, you know, two guys try to figure it out together, but I think different playing styles would just be so much more interesting, right? And trying to figure out who's teeing off on which hole and which holes favor which player and can this person hit this shot into the screen? Is this going to make sense? God, sign me up for all of that. And that's the comment we have been broken record about with regards to the president's cup is like, man, how much better would the president's cup be if it was mixed mixed teams? And you're pairing men and women together. And since that feels like a massive long shot, I think doing an event like this, like even just a one off calendar event would be so freaking cool. Yeah, I suppose that the counter argument of the golf kind of establishment would be well, you know, then you're taking away X number of spots from the last 75 people on the list for on both the LBA and the PJ, right? Yeah, but do you want me to do some of those names of people in the field? Because at least really tough. It's really tough, man. As always, no offense to anybody. But there were some teams in here where it's almost like a multiplier effect. When you see two anonymous people on a team, you're just like, man, who the fuck are all these people? It's tough. It's not a good field. It's not a good field. I could almost kind of like, I definitely lays bare even more. All right, maybe we can thin the herd a little bit. The death panel, death panel by the list. Next year. This is dangerous territory to wade into, but just looking over the list. I'm sorry, I'm sorry to this man, but I've never heard of Joseph bramlett who played with maverick mcneely. And I have not heard of Austin smotherman who played with our Harry Higgs. I have not heard of Paul barjon who played with Tom hoagy. I don't think I've heard of either Jarrett wolf or Seth Reeves who shot 500. Yeah. You know, like a lot of dudes who obviously they're great. They're probably better at their profession than I am in mine. So it's maybe disrespectful to be like, I ain't never heard of you, but wow, that's a lot of people who are bringing a lot of eyeballs to the to this. Yeah. I agree. And I guess give credit to, you know, I think Xander and cantlay playing the event and pairing up together is ultimately awesome, right? I mean, that's good on them for being too top ten top 12 players and really leaning into this thing and embracing it and matching up. Same obviously with more power and hovland, they seem like they had a blast. And that's kind of the thing about this event is when you do talk to guys about it. I mean, the players like almost to a man that I've spoken to love this event. They have a legitimate blast. And I think that's more of an existential question about how much does the promote the tour promote things that players really like versus things that fans really like, but I mean, I guess if it's a one or a zero, right? Is this event good for the PGA Tour or bad for the PGA Tour? I probably tend to lean towards it's a one and it's a good change of pace and it's fun to watch the back 9 and it's fun to watch guys play alternate shot for, you know, I can do it for about an hour and a half. It's great, but the idea of watching it on like Thursday Friday when I got nothing else to do is no thanks. It's like the potential is there for I mean imagine if this existed in like 2002 and you could have gotten like a Tiger and devolved team paired against Ernie and Adam Scott or something like that. Down the stretch. That would have been like huge because that's basically what all the battle bighorn and all that stuff that they ended up creating was kind of intending. And so the intent is good and it's there. It's just like, you know, for the most part, the bigger stars aren't kind of aren't that interested. I will say, Scotty shutter continues to have one of the more interesting postmasters like victory tours around. He participates in this event. Like he doesn't do any of the late night talk show stuff. I guess I don't tune in quite as much to Sports Illustrated and stuff like that, but it didn't seem like he sat down for any kind of big magazine profile or anything after that happened. It's like basically it's got a shuffler seems like kind of the same dude except for that he won the best. He's just kind of hanging out at home. That's exactly kind of how I think I would long for it to be. If I ever win the masters, this is perfect. Yeah, well, I'm gonna hold you to that. Okay, well, you know, I mean, it's gonna be hard not to not to go on some of the shows. Yeah, well, maybe do one. One for you one for them. Kind of a situation. It depends on if I still work very soon while I win the masters. Push for me to be on Kimmel and the whole vertical integration thing that you'd have to do. Well, you got to cross promote. Totally. I think some of it too has to do with just, we talk about this with all the PGA conversation and everything and just the way the tour is structured. For the tour to do anything mildly innovative is just, it's just like really not going to happen, right? Because there's just so many shareholders. And so many people to keep happy and so many playing opportunities to create. And all of those things to where, you know, this is about as outside the box is they've gotten probably in my time of covering pro golf, right? And it's still just kind of winds up as like this milk toast down the middle of the road. You know, nobody's really happy. Nobody's really offended kind of product and I don't know..

I don't think Scott Brown lost on a playoff one year and they just have a very good track record and then max homa and Taylor gooch to barstool golf foreplay, you know, Friends of the program. As well. So I got a bunch of bunch of good teams who Scottie playing with. Is he with. Burns? It would make a lot of sense. I know him and Sam Burns are very good buddies. I feel like he was playing with chef le Zürich class sick. You think it'd be burns? I think it's burns. It says last year he played with Scottish where bubba Watson, but I doubt that that's the same thing. No, that ain't it this year. Oh, it's just as flash interview. I don't know if they played together. We should figure that out. But anyways, you're a classic YouTuber going to be there. I'm excited to see what you cook up throughout the entire week. I got a Ryan Palmer, Ryan Palmer. I was gonna say because they're both Texas. They both are Texas guys. I thought you might have played Palmer. Is that who he's got? I like that. He followed me on Twitter the other day. He's another one that when we do that Texas swing that we're going to do, we go beat the shit out of Scottish chef for and then beat the shit out of Harry Higgs and then beat the shit out of Ryan Palmer. Ryan Palmer is going to be part of that. He called us one time Trent. Remember the first time we had him on the show, he called us driving his son to hockey practice one night. I do remember that. He was a really nice guy. He's super nice guy. I have his number actually. I forgot, I should text him. Follow up. Dude, there's some really good teams in here. I mean, column Morikawa and Victor hovland is a problem. Patrick cat lane, Xander schauffele problem. Sky shuffling, Ryan Palmer, problem, 'cause you have the best golfer on the planet in that group. I mean, the Zürich classic puts asses in the seats. Jason Day is there? I mean, fuck. You guys might get some of the best stuff we've ever gotten next week. Dude, I've read. "I've got posted this on Instagram when we were at north park on Wednesday. The joggers I was wearing. They are bird dogs, okay? They're bird dogs and I will hand up. I made fun of joggers, maybe 5, 6 years ago. I've come full circle. They sent them to us. I'm currently wearing them. I don't know how well you can see. I'm probably unplug myself if I try. I have the khaki ones on right now. I wore them on the flight and wore them directly to the golf course and fit in wonderfully on the golf course didn't stick out. I'm so in on joggers, I'm way in on bird dog. So I've got a million questions about those bird dogs. You can go to bird dogs dot com. You can use code NLU and you'll get a free hat with your order as well. So boys have been buzzing about the bird dogs. I wore them on the golf course today as well. I got out to the new course. It was absolute delightful stroll wearing those pants. Range has been working out in them, the short shorts, she's loving them. Well, the shorts, but I also have to the pants 36 inseam pants. Hard to find as a tall guy. So it's cool. If you're watching this live, Cody's Cody's beaming in the video of that I posted on Instagram that shows off the joggers. Nice shot. Thank you. That was a good shot. You know what I did? I used the bounce on that one. So go to bird dogs dot com, check them out. I've got a question related to the precision pro. Round table. Any caddy stick out to you. Over the last couple of days. Ryan Palmer's caddy went full Harry Higgs, like with no shirt underneath and had some chest hair popping out, which that was a surprise to me, but that was the only thing that came to mind when you brought that up. I don't have anything specific other than we mentioned this in the pre the preview pod, which again, someone mentioned previews doing a lot of heavy lifting that were preview, which kind of made me laugh. But I think we're all like I mentioned, not down on Scotty, but just a little bit like, okay, he's got to run out of gas eventually. I think we underestimated having Ted Scott on the bag. You were like, I don't sleep on Ted Scott. Two time masters winning caddy with the number one player in the world. It seems to be a potent combo. So can I say one thing about caddy? And then I was going to say this is not a shot at Joe lacava, but it definitely is going to be the cat and Joe had some tough yardages today. Hit 7 iron on 12, totally either misjudged with one 56 or something on 12. I think a lot of players are doing it. It seems like a weird wind. Air mailed it went way long. It got lucky that it came back in the bunker. And then on 18, it was a helping win. One 58 and I know that shot plays about 8 to ten yards uphill. Full bore 7 iron, and it won't even close to the right number. So maybe it needs a precision pro audio caddy to go longer. That is not in the copy. Caddies that have stood out for a positive or negative. I feel like you must have one. If you put this, I just think it's a fun question because I feel like at the master of the caddies become almost, you know, because they're all wearing the same thing. You start to notice what they're wearing underneath. There's just a lot to it that is part of the masters. I'm gonna pay closer attention to that tomorrow. I was trying to see on Twitter. Fitzpatrick's cat. Oh, that was sweet. Yes. So he gets over at Fitzpatrick, it's over a shot on 13. And starts to kind of back off and I couldn't quite make out with Billy foster says, but he's like, they're hitting a layup shot, and he's like, it's perfect for her and get on with it. 'cause he was like, Fitz was starting to second guess it. And fits like, are we in a rush? No, no rush, but it was kind of his way of reinforcing confidence in his player to make sure he made a good swig, but I thought that was great. Yeah, get on with it. Also, I assume a caddy that sticks out as Alex Higgs who's, of course, probably in the chat. Following along. Even if he's not, he's number one caddy in our book. So the boys aren't playing the weekend as well. Harry Higgs and his master's debut, making the cut, that's awesome. Neil, who did you have? Guido, magliozzi. Yeah. I believe I said his name, right? You did. This guy's ripping heaters all day. He was. All day long on Thursday. And you know what? I appreciate that. At a place like Augusta, you know, guys just decided I'm gonna be who I am. And I think that's worth noting. I like that. Are we concerned with Charles schwartzel at all? No, no, not the least. Is that are we moving? I would probably have that in my worst case scenario. For sure. What is worst case scenario? We've lived it once. We survived. I felt like, you know, will it was a little bit of that? Come on, man. I know there's an unpopular opinion. Will it be a cool story? Well, it was in the will. He was in the right. I'm being unfair. Fought his way all the way back. Will it get I wouldn't say I'm a massive will it fan? But yeah. Come on. He gets unfairly blamed for the Spieth collapse. It was not his fault. It was not yet. It's still not going to let him live it down. There was a very specific moment where I woke up from my jet lag nap and I saw it was Tiger was hitting his approach in a number 9. And he had the club drop and it was just it's not going well. And the leaderboard doesn't look good. And it's Schwarzenegger. And it's like, man, it's hiring a miss the cut and then we're going to get stuck with something that nobody wants to see. Like, is this going to be the most anti climactic masters of all time? They treat will it like he was Sean McHale or something too. It was like a top 15. He was a player in the world. 12 player in the world when he won the masters. So I don't care about Danny willett I would say, but you know, give the guy a little worse. That's fair. Give him respect, but I don't agree that it would be a good story. All the things that could play out this weekend, I would not put that up there as a good story. What's a better story? Danny willett, coming back from the wilderness or Shane Lowry somewhat arbitrarily winning a second major. Shane ladder. I think Lowry. I think he's more Irish people would go freaking ape shit. It'd be fun. Yeah. A new master's champion that will you guys know what a story? That's right. Yeah, be a good story. Randy's been taking. He will be interested in that. For their middle end of that story. Are you sticking around to watch the butler cabin ceremony if Danny will it wins? Are you doing it if Shane Lowry's wins? It would be about the same. I would say. I would watch it either way actually because it's always awkward. It's like the best part of the week. I think I agree with you. Yeah. Thank you. I think thank you for that. It's a set piece. It's like a sitcom. Didn't say it'd be interesting. I said it'd be fun. Yeah, exactly. Schwartz always worst case scenario. Is that what we're talking about? No, no. I feel that way. "That for this event. Give me speed and read in the same in the same group. Like, give me a little bit of storyline to follow early on in the week. We don't need to protect the integrity of the draw. And the fact that they don't recede after like, I think the fact that DJ and scheffler had to play today. I think that's bullshit. I think that I think they should play the lowest CD gash play the highest CD guy. That one I'm okay with because at least we got to see that match instead of one of them losing along the way, but I don't know. It's hard, you can see pretty easily why a lot of people don't have a lot of companies don't want to do match play events because it just doesn't translate that well to TV. At times, it's the best, but for the most part, man, it's pretty tough too. Which is really interesting. When you compare this to NCAA tournament going on right now and how hyped people get for the underdogs and the Cinderella stories in college basketball and it's like, oh God, you know, that's once a year. This is every week now. I know, but in golf, no one's happy when no offense to our guy, our guy bland, blandy, but no one's like, oh man, can you believe the run this guy's making? The answer was like, yo, we can't have these guys. We can't have these guys making a Cinderella run. It's bad for business. We need to fix this. Instead, whereas that's the business model on March on NCAA basketball, it's like, yo, the Cinderella story. That's what it's all about, you know? Funny thing, the probably the ratings are way better when it's duke UNC than the Cinderella model too. So Volvo match play ended in 2014. Did you miss Christmas? I think I enjoy watching it, 'cause it's true, like you have all the context you need for each match. It's two guys playing one another and it's super digestible and super fun for me. Whereas I feel like otherwise it's, oh, well this guy's T 17 right now and he's probably not going to win, but he needs these points to move on whereas I feel like this is actually a good way to introduce people into watching golf for the first time. Yeah. I do not disagree. It's still a weird spot in the calendar two weeks before the masters with, you know, you get guys like Rory skipping. It feels like a weird fit for maybe some guys last start before the master's playing. I think Rory's skipping too just because this isn't his kind of golf course, right? Like he can't hit those half wedge shots. He's a thrower. Also, I feel like you could do the Monday finish thing, too, because the San Antonio event is 90 minutes away. What are the chances even that your guy shuffler just withdrew from this week anyway? Yeah. Did he just withdraw from blood? Okay. A couple other things. Paul Casey, early in the week, you have any issues with how that might tell you the beluga had some issues with it. As somebody who bet on them or put some nuggies on them this week, it's just like, yeah, I don't know. We've always had with the WGC. For the listeners that don't know what happened, two holes into his first match. He withdrew against Corey Connors with back spasms. And did not play. He warmed up and didn't tell Alex noren that he wasn't going to play Alex and word and made it to the T and teed off and Casey was not there yet and so that concedes that match and then he also conceded his Friday match. We played two holes collected $40,000 when zero three. Who was next guy in? Ryan Palmer, I believe. Mister. Mister Palmer. Arnie. Mister Palmer. Come on. I guess, and did Casey pull out a week before? He did not play before, correct. He was supposed to, wasn't he? But they said it wasn't. He pulled out a valspar. It wasn't an injury though. It was not that information. It wasn't said that it wasn't injury. I don't think it was not specifically said that it was injury, which is part of the conversation. I tried to start the conversation on Twitter. It turns out the Brits are not down with the fact that we would even remotely suggest that players should share information with a potential betting public because apparently betting has been going on over here for years and we don't have to do any, they don't do any injury reporting here. It's like, well, due to the NFL. Guess what happens over here, guys? That's mostly who we're talking to and yeah, NFL has injury reports, disclosure. They have had a betting enormous, mostly illegal betting market for many, many, many, many years, that the lines move greatly due to information shared by those teams on who is doubtful who is questionable all these things. Some lines are held and not even posted until injury reports are posted in the league. It is part of the it is part of past, I guess, trying to get this information there, trying to paint this clearly of like, I have no nothing riding on this. But if the tour is gonna take money from gambling places and funnel that money to the players, that's what's happening here. The players should owe that betting public a lot more information about what's going on with suspensions, injuries, short term long-term injuries that should Rory was saying this during his players. More transparency out there. Now, this is not about taking a bad beat. This is like about encouraging people to want to engage in this sport in this way. It is part of the revenue that is going to come into professional golf is going to depend on the activity, the activeness of this market. And if you are shutting that market out, they're going to find other places to gain and put their money and follow and be entertained by. And it might be a minor thing to a lot of people, but it's just not and it's just shitty like to have something like this happen. Because this is where it can get really messy if people kind of are at the tournament and see Paul Casey spasming on the range and then you can put in a play and against him immediately. You have access to information that nobody else has. Now it's like, well shit, can somebody be on site sending that information out to people and things like that? That's where it gets weird. That's why you got to disclose this stuff. I think the Brits, I think the red coats are still upset about us shitting on Paul Casey a couple weeks ago. And the players. You know, you guys are trafficking innuendo and hearsay and all this shit. Yeah, we are. And you know what? There's a lot of it out there and most of it is. This had nothing to do with Casey though. This was just about shitty from Casey though too, right? I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt. I have woken up the day of playing a round of golf and had a back injury that I didn't have the day before and it keep me from being able to play. I've had that happen. I imagine it happens for as much as these guys are competing. That's not outrageous for that to happen. So I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that it happened that day. What I'm blaming is the system for not tipping us off on that. If there was no information in the system and he withdraws that day and he can confidently say like, yep, you know what? It spun up this morning and I'm sorry to do this, but I have to withdraw. That's different than like, hey, he knew about this all week. That's what we don't know. Did he know about this all week? And then just pulled out and if there's a better information sharing system, then we have and players are held more accountable so one they don't do this to the first alternate. Two, they don't do this to the whole. Anyone that is, well, here's the following. I mean, there's an incentive to withhold it for him because he makes 40 grand. Exactly. So that might be like the answer to the question of like, how do you prevent that from happening? Well, figure out a way for, you know, you don't just get a check for 40 grand for showing up, you know, if you're hurt, like it's bad for the competition. If guys are showing up hurt and just not playing, right? We want the most competitive tournament we can get. And if you're not a 100% or you can't play, then you somebody else should play in your place. Sorry, like you're not going to make the money. And that's not an issue week to week because there's a cut. But these WGC is like, you know, it happens. And it's like a competitive balance thing too between these pools where if so, he played what he played one of the matches a little bit or just two holes the first question. So yeah, so we did that and then which two holes is super suspicious. It's not one hole. It's like, all right, well, it's going to look suspicious if I play one ball, play two holes. And then Corey Connors comes out of that group ten and makes it to the final four, which it's a grind, right?.

As we're building our lineups in in trying to get rich. Yeah the sixty nine hundred dollar. Mark is projecting. Right to by far the most popular a golfer in this in this area. So i would make a very easy pivot to jason coke rack who i have almost a third of the ownership of corey. Connors and co crack has also piled up three consecutive top tens in those difficult events leading up to this one. And then you go a little further down and you get to the sixty five hundred dollar mark and here. I'm probably okay. "Have a few minutes to run out to the golf course, is practice your short game. Yes, and hit a lot of putts at the You know my favorite thing and our friend Ben Crenshaw. His favorite thing is just staying on the putting green. And having little matches and competitions between you and your friends until the sun goes down a lot of days and that pays off When you're playing match play for sure. Can you carry that over to the round talk about your match play victory you you're deep in this Austin Golf Club is very, very great Match Play golf tournament involving all the members and there's some really good golfing members of the Austin Golf Club, including Ben Crenshaw off Sergio Garcia and others. Yes, Sergio actually played in this. It's a It's a two man match play member member. Of course, All the clubs have that kind of a tournament, and even our municipal courses have that. But it's just a way to keep your game sharp and you find out who the good competitors are. And we had. I think we've moved through to the finals, 16 matches and tested. Five of the six have gone to the 18th hole. So you better have your nerves, right? And you like I said, you've got to make putts. Yeah, you gotta mean that's the key. Even if you hit some bad shots and wayward shots in match play, you know, sometimes a par bogey wins the whole It's not. It's not all birdy. Sure you see on TV with the pros, right? It is not all birdies like you see with a prison where we've been watching the pros this afternoon at the Farmer's insurance open. At San Diego at Torrey Pines and just want to tell everybody. This is gonna be a preview of the U. S open in June. It's gonna be at the South corset, Torrey Pines. So you know for what it's worth, you will see the players playing well this week. Could possibly be among the favorites at the U. S Open at Torrey Pines right now to share the lead. Carlos Ortiz of Mexico. Ah, former winner on Tour One Down in Houston A couple years ago is tied with former Masters champion and tour bad boy Patrick Reid. They're both at minus 10 Ortiz had a sterling 66 today. Patrick Reed fired as 70 today. Two shots back or is a big group of players, including Sam Burns? Yes, I said Sam Burns. I could not pick Sanborn's out of a police lineup, but he must be really good because he's an end apart. He is joined by late Oh Griffin, Victor Hovland and John Rahm Victor Hovland entered today among the leaders, but he shot a 73. John Graham shot a 72 Adam Scott leads group at minus seven and that minus seven group also includes Rory McIlroy and Texan Ryan Palmer. Okay. The Longhorns. You're not having a good week. Doug Gim is I believe the only longhorn to make no dug him and dump him for telling both made the cut and they're both tied for 33rd. Doug Damn shot A 73 Today. Dylan for Telly shot a 71. And sadly, Scotty in the big story was the Longhorns who did not make the cut, most notably Scotty Shuffler who shot 65. 79 Mr. Cut by one. Also missing. The cut by one was Bo Hosler and Austin resident who shot 66 on Thursday and a 78 yesterday. Also missing the cut. Jordan speaketh 69 on Thursday and a 75 yesterday. Let me just say it's beginning to get and I like Jordan speech. Don't get me wrong. It's getting painful to watch Jordan play painful when he when it's going the wrong direction. There's nothing more beautiful than George speaks when he's got it going, But it was painful. The back nine yesterday because nothing was going right for Jordan speaketh. Yeah, and we we reported a couple of weeks ago that Jordan had gone to see Butch Harmon, but that was apparently The word we got from Geoff Shackelford last week when he was on the show. We're talking to him. One of commercial breaks. Apparently, that was just kind of, you know, Look, it look at me on the driving range wasn't a formal lesson or change of instructors. Jordan's still with Cameron McCormick. As he has been for a long time and boy, you know, I don't know He had a chance on the last hole yesterday if he hit a good weight shot not to put in like Phil did to make them back. But it's just not happening for joining. It's not happening and was, you know as you've talked about it and other great golfers talk about it. Something good's gonna happen. When something good happens. It may turn. It could be something during a round of golf. It could be something else. But hopefully Jordan speaks will turn this but right now. Golf fans. Jordan speech is not eligible for the Del Match play, Not even close. Really not really close. Yeah, it's too bad, but I think there's gonna be some players of that. Don't come to Austin. You know, quite frankly, I'm a not not a lot. You know, There's always five or six, though, right? It's not just the top 64. It might be 65 through 68 or 69, if if you hadn't decided not to play right Kind of interesting this week to while the field is good in San Diego, there's a lot of really good players playing in Dubai. They really it is and let me tell you what. Last week I had the A I A T vote. The final round of the tournament last week and European tour when Rory and Terrel Hatton were tied for the lead, and I watched it the next day, and it was entertaining. Carol Hatton is playing great golf right now the Englishman who's got what I would say I was a real sort of stiff swing. This guy is a dunk a junkyard dog. He's a competitor in the outduel Rory McIlroy to win the big prize last week, so give us an update of what they're doing this week. The ended by Paul Casey sleeping, he's 15 under par. That's the three rounds. So if you want to turn on the TV at 12 30 tonight, or tea bought like I did, Yeah, yeah, or just stay up late and watch it because it's that's really good. It's not. It's great golf. Yeah, Yeah. Paul Casey, who's pretty sure to be on the writer. Team in September for the Europeans. He's leading by one over Robert McIntyre. A very young, good player. Brandon Stone, Haiti, South Africa, Former Longhorn flight A longhorn let on the national championship team. Yeah, Brandon won. Didn't he win the tournament over the Scottish joke on the Scottish helpers ago down at Castle Stewart? I believe he won there. Yeah. Yeah. Was it at? Uh, Going wasn't going I think it was it going Take. It wasn't going. Yeah. Brandon Brandon can light it up. He's 13 hundreds just to back at a nice 66 yesterday. And then in fourth place. We got Lori Cantor don't know who that is. But Sergio Garcia, who has flown over to Dubai to play the next two weeks Now, the interesting thing is, Roy came back to the states. After finishing well. Last week, he came back to play in San Diego instead of staying over in Dubai for that little three weeks swing over there. How do you do that with your body while you get on a private plane to do these days like It's not like the old days, you know, going to Dubai. The other two rounds weren't so great and it was a bit of those inconsistencies that we've seen from him over the last year but this is a happy hunting ground for roy. He's only played here twice. He's got top five finishes in both editions of of of this farmers insurance open. So he's the one that i think i'm i'm targeting. The most up their hobbit as we make our way down the card. If we like rory at the top. Give us a couple of guys that you're building around either in the middle or a couple of guys rick elect this weekend at torrey pines. So certainly you mentioned brooks koepka earlier. I would not play him in defense. But i love betty his outright number. You know that way. If he has a ton of miscount equity he has a ton of win equity. At least you get a little bit of upside joke by just betting him instead of getting him into your fantasy lineups but moving down and looking at some of the more value placed ryan palmer has an unbelievable record around torrey pines. In the last three years he's gone thirteenth and twenty twenty. I was last year but he played in the final group on sunday so we actually fell and faded on sunday. I think he shot three or four over par and it really made his finishing position. Look a lot worse than how he actually played that we can move it out there. Really far he can get the putter going at times. So that's someone that i would target in the middle and then you start scrolling down even further to you know the seven thousand dollar range at and and gary woodland's name pops up at seventy eight hundred and woodland has been dealing with a torn lieberman his hip and he tried to play through. It and the results were brutal. I mean the second half of his twenty twenty it was bad the stats where some of the worst i've ever seen especially for a guy as who has the pedigree of gary woodland's well he might be back. Gary woodland a a sixteenth place. Finish last week Seems to be healthy. And if he is and he is severely under priced at seventy eight hundred dollars especially for.

"Del Golf silkier belts. Nine banded whiskey Yummy, Yummy, Yummy. The knotty decade, Bart, the Renaissance Hotel at the Arboretum and modest Tex Mex Scotty get afternoon. And how are you a little nippy for golf today? But I know a lot of guys were at Munich when I drove by earlier this morning. I played yesterday. It's gonna get cold tonight and will probably be no golf tomorrow the next couple of days, but The end of the week was really nice to play golf in central Texas. Yeah, I went over and hit a couple of puts this morning once it warmed up, but mostly stayed in and watched. You know, some really good sports today. I mean, you t Pull in that game out that really, you know, they fight well in West Virginia's A good team got a little lucky at the end when West Virginia missed the one in one and then missed two free throws with an 89% shooter at the line, but Or hit a big shot with a second to go toe win a game that we've really wanted. Bad as revenge. It really was stealing one on the road to me, because I think what not around the first time they ever had the entire second half of Andrew Jones hits the three pointer with 1.1 seconds to play. They were. I started watching closely in the second half, and they never were up so Patient game for the Longhorns, and you're right. They got some breaks. But what a story but Andrew Jones three years ago almost to the date diagnosed with leukemia, and today he hits a game winner, Texas Now 10 and one on the basketball year was Shaka Smart and Wow. Wow. What a year the Longhorn basketball team having. Yeah, they're closing games. Where is the last 23 years? They haven't been have been losing games like this. So it's made. It made a huge difference. And then we watch Buffalo. Went against Indianapolis. Indianapolis completely blew it. It's the first half young 27 24 the first time since 1995 Buffalo. The village course in the bay Course that we're there for many years and then the Plantation is the one we built and they've had this tournament of champions there this year. However, it's not exactly a tournament of champions. I got up. You got a few, You know, They got a few people who didn't win win championships, including Harris. English, who Right now is the leader board at Number one, he's at 14 under par. He's just started his round. Justin Thomas and Ryan Palmer of Amarillo are in second place at 13 Logjam at 12 with Dustin Johnson, John Graham, Colin Morikawa, Rice and a Shambo, My man from Oklahoma State Victor Hovland, Daniel Berger and former Longhorns Scotty Scheffler. Just two shots off the pace at minus 12. So you see a smattering of players. You have not won past year. Of course, Victor Hovland has Daniel Berger has they? Shambo Has Colin as Rahm Dustin EYES Ryan Ryan Palmer won this year, but Harris English is not one. And I think, Scotty one the year before last, So they're letting players in. Think there's about 42 people in this field? Yeah, There's a little bit of debate. I saw Jim McKay. I was not happy about not having chant all champions there. But with the tournaments that were canceled last year would have been a small field. Oh, yeah, they had done it that way. Another person who's part of this is our friend Justin Leonard, who's now taking Really good seats at the Golf Channel broadcast so good good for our friend Justin Leonard With Terry Gannon today, the former North Carolina state basketball player, So Justin Leonard, leaving the home in Colorado to To go to Kapalua, suggesting he looks like he's about 22.
