"You watch us. We're inside the first Midwest Bank studio fell Z My guy from how just called into about Andy Dalton. He was wild. By Andy Dalton's 27 for 38 for two. Oh, six and a Red Zone interception was zero touchdowns a fumble in there as well. And a passer rating of a very bears. Ask 72.9 Waddle talking about the game plan where you can beat Jacksonville. With that game plan. You can beat the bad teams. But you have no hope doing that. Against the good teams, the high powered teams her going to march down the field. So my question is simply this when it comes to Andy Dalton, and it goes back to what Marcus said in Minneapolis that it always goes back to Ryan Pace and there wants to sign Andy Dalton. What are we doing here? What are we looking to accomplish with him? What? What's the task here? Simply that, like, how would the Bears answer that? What are they trying to do? Are they trying to just play anyone so they don't have to play Justin Fields? Why did they pick Andy Dalton? You could've kept Nick Foles and he could have gotten you as 72.9 passer rating with limited mobility and an interception with no touchdown. Why did we need when we don't have a left tackle? To spend 10 million extra dollars on Andy Dalton. Why do we need to run this simplistic offense with Andy Dalton? Why aren't we throwing the ball with those 4.4 guys who run sub four fours? Down the field one time. Why are we making in, uh, pro Bowler and Allen Robinson just run a bunch of short routes. I don't believe he ran around past 10 yards in yesterday's game. So it's my simple question. And I don't believe any of you guys have the answer. Black of dollars. Shame on you. Maybe we do. You don't know me. What are we doing here? Well, from their perspective from mine from their perspective doing here. They feel that Andy Dalton at this point gives them the best chance to win 14 points on national TV. He in a passing league, where most of the quarterbacks who played yesterday. Roll out of bed with over 200 yards. Zero touchdowns. Got after this great start through you A red zone Intercept. What are we doing? Like to introduce. You would like to introduce you to the Chicago Bears. Ryan Pace has been there for seven years and have they ever truly solved any of their offensive line. Problems, especially at the left tackle spot has that ever truly been solved? Like the quarterback situation they may have backed into this one, and I give him credit for it. But the swings and misses at the most important position you're asking a question. That I can't give you an answer that you're going to like based on who they are and who they've been. They truly believe that Justin Fields isn't ready to play 65 snaps in an NFL game. That is their mentality. They believe that this time Andy Dalton, especially behind a makeshift and I said shift offensive line. Because he's seen everything in the NFL gives them the best chance to win games. That's not my evaluation addressed. The question Accomplish, though, is it simply just not throwing fields out there? Well, I don't think again. I don't think that they don't. They don't think he's ready to go right now. We are here It is Sylvia. There's one of two things taking place either one that really bad at evaluating football talent, and they're bad at evaluating those who are in the building who are on the practice field or two. There's something else going on. That has nothing to do with any of this stuff, because the fact that Matt Nagy said today That there is nothing that Justin Fields can do to help him get onto the football field. More tells me that there's something else going on behind the scenes as in a promise made to a player to secure the player in free agency, and they just cannot let go of this promise, even though they have a more talented football player on the roster. Yeah, I don't I'm on the other side of that. I think that that's so bad, evaluating talent because they believe I believe they believe that Andy Dalton gives them the best chance to win right now, because he seems to win every game. They play on Sunday. This someplace I'm not. You're like I'm not Ryan pacer Matt Nagy like you like again, bringing up the Alex Smith comp. And how flawed it is. We talked a lot about it Friday. We've talked about it for many weeks. Alex Smith was really good. The year that he played when Patrick Mahomes sat for all those games until the end of the year. Also, and we've both hit this. Alex Smith was an incumbent who knew the offense. They're wasting time. They're wasting energy to try to teach Andy Dalton what to do where this is simply a waste. For what? This is this is a new guy. Who you you clearly showed last year when you got your own guy, Nick Foles that it took a long time to even get in sync with him. A guy who wanted Super Bowl this guy Andy Dalton. It's going to take him time to get right. Why are we trying to get him right? What's the point? But I I don't like banging your head against the glass, trying to understand they telling you over and over again. I don't agree with how they handle a lot of stuff. I don't agree with, you know, having to call time outs all the time and burning timeouts. I don't agree with taking David Montgomery out of certain situations. I don't agree with Putting Justin Fields in for third and eight, taking him out on third and one. I don't agree with all that stuff, but you're driving yourself crazy wanting the explanation for they driving me crazy, correct, but they're telling you they're not giving the it's flawed logic, but they're telling you why they're doing what they're doing. They think that right now Andy Dalton gives them a better chance to win and Justin Fields isn't ready for 65 snaps in the league. Again. It grew. It may not satisfy you. And it doesn't satisfy, you know, but you're asking this clown show they are a clown show they're wasting Fuge assets financial time. Energy, trying to get everything in sync for a guy who is not an answer. This guy is not going to take them anywhere. This guy's best days are.

"Stick Polls is going to be the one who isn't going to dress for some, if not all again. Albert Breer, NFL insider for Sports Illustrated joining us here and the captain J. Hood show on ESPN, 1000 Miller and Hanley in for the guys today. All right, Albert. So a lot of juicy quotes in there in the mm QB, and I'm curious When you talk to Matt, did you get the sense that he is quietly confident about his position in the organization Because Looking around the national landscape. A lot of folks are targeting Matt Nagy, as somebody who is potentially on the hot seat could be one of the first head coach is fired. But here in Chicago, we know that the McCaskey family tends not too high, not to fire coaches. In season. Do you feel like Matt Nagy is confident in his position in the organization? I don't think that, like Maggie and Ryan pacer looking over their shoulder if that's what you mean. And I, you know, I think we've seen situations like that. Like I'd say like that's where Matt Patricia was going into last year in Detroit, where Dan Quinn was last year, going in the season in Atlanta and where Doug Marrone was last year, going into the season in Jacksonville. And you know it's interesting because you know you always sort of heavy radar up for those sorts of situations going into the year and I just I don't know There's like, really an obvious one. Now I think we all know Like there are teams like the Cardinals. The Raiders that have coaches going into years three and four and haven't made the playoffs yet. So, um, you know, there are obvious questions attached to that, I think was Matt Ryan. I think the question will be the trajectory of the franchise and whether or not the arrow is still pointing up. You know, I don't think they're going into the season was, you know, looking over their shoulders for their jobs right now, Um, could that change if they start to n 43 and seven? Yeah, I mean, certainly could change. But I don't get the sense that you know the mat or Ryan or going into the year thinking. If I don't get off to a, you know, four and one start, you know now, all of a sudden, in October, you know they're going to be talking about firing me again. Not saying that can't happen, but I just don't get the feeling that they're looking over their shoulder that way, at least at this point. Yeah. And look six game losing streak last year and they're still here Site. I don't know what where the bar how low The bar would have to be this year for Matt needed to feel like he wasn't see the end of the season anyway, but That said Jeff Miller made a great point earlier. It's but we're all cats, pawing at the shiny thing hanging around and pawing at it because we want Justin Fields. It's all about the franchise Quarterback. The defense. You have a new defensive coordinator. You have a very inexperienced secondary. You have an aging defense wine. You know if I asked you are the Bears defense, Will it be top third Middle Third bottom Third. Where would you project them right now? I mean, it didn't look great and you know, and some of those thoughts in the preseason so you know, I think there is Reason for some level of concern, you know? I mean, you've got some guys On that defense. You know, guys like, you know, obviously Coolio, Mac and and and and Eddie Jackson and you know, and Robert Quinn aqui mix that are like a little bit like either. You know, moving towards probably the second half of their career or, you know, approaching, you know, maybe the last phase of their prime, and so I think it's fair to ask those questions as to where You know where where the defense is, And you know, like when this sort of transition is going to happen, you know, and not that it's going to happen now. But, you know, like like, when did this become real quiet? Smith's defense, I guess the way to Is the way determine it. Um, you know, that said, I would say that they were probably holding quite a few things back in the preseason to, um You know, when I was at their camp, I could feel the excitement over. Having Sean Desai in there as a defensive coordinator, and I think one of the things that a lot of the guys, you know, we're really looking towards and what Shawn's gonna bring this table. You know, the guys who played for Vic Fangio. They're really I think through the spring in the early part of the summer felt like there was a lot of the elements of what Vic brought to the defense coming back. Not to say what Chuck did was wrong for the couple years. He was there, but you know, there was really some of the some of the things that make a fixed defense so difficult for offences. A lot of those things were being Sort of reinserted into the mix. And so I can't tell you how much of that they held back, Um in the preseason, But I would assume there's a fair amount of of that schematic stuff that they were probably not showing. So Yeah. I mean, there's reason for concern in the way that it looked in the preseason, but I would also say that there are a lot of things that that the players were pretty excited about working with Sean through the spring and summer. That they probably weren't gonna show and they probably were holding for. You know what? What's to come over the next couple of weeks. That's the voice of NFL insider Albert Breyer of Sports Illustrated. I'm Jeff Miller, along with Brian.

"There was some positivity. There's some positive momentum. We haven't even got to week one. And the Bears, led by Matt Nagy and Ryan Pacer projectile vomiting right now on themselves. Like, what are they doing? They just They just had puke. Come out of their mouth hit the shower, and it goes right back off the shower into their faces, like, why not even give Justin Fields a shot. Doesn't make sense to me. No, I will say, I do think he gave himself a little bit of an out when he said, Oh, you know, you never know what things could change things to change. I promise yet. Justin Fields lights it up in training camp. He'll be starting week one. I don't think this is sentenced own. Doesn't appear that way. Easier to say now on June 15th that and you don't even know No, I don't. I said to the janitor happy Wednesday before so, you know it's Tuesday, right? I know. I learned that the hard way. But like Don't They're not doing a good job communicating this message. Andy Dalton's QB one Then it's okay. It's going to be an open competition. Best guys gonna start and he has the leg up. But the best guy will start And now it's Yeah. Andy Dalton is our started. Do me a favor. Want to listen to that one more time. Play me that audio one more time. This is Matt Nagy on the Chris Collinsworth podcast. I did hear what he said at the end, but I really want that to marinate. And give you a better take on it. Go ahead. No, I mean Andy is our starter and again. I can't predict anything..

"They were so concerned about the Relationship. You know, with Aaron like that They went out of their way to make sure anything we say is going to be public like we don't want to be hiding behind it. We don't want to be sourcing it like we want, but, well, we want us. We want to have a unit unified front on this, and we want to say what we're going to say publicly. And so this to me will be the other side of that. Which is exactly what you're saying, which is Like Let's not make this ugly one way or another. Let's just work together. Let's not make this ugly and whatever resolution we come to, if that means you're out of here in a year, fine, But let's do it in a better way than maybe the Packers handled the Brett Fire, saying, What was it 14 years ago now? The most interesting quarterback situation is where I think Chicago. Um New England's interesting San Francisco's interesting but I think in both of those places Um, if those teams are contending, um and and, you know, obviously, both those teams have been in the Super Bowl relatively recently. Then there's a good chance the rookies set. Make a difference in Chicago, and the Bears have been good. The last few years is the people's jobs are on the line, and I can tell you like to this point, Andy Dalton has taken all the first team wraps. Justin Fields has taken all the second team reps. Um to this point, Justin Fields has blended in and what I was told us. He's playing the rookie role in that building really, really well, like like, has like a little leader, by example, trait to him, but isn't trying to assert himself or anything like that. He knows his place, which is a good sign for his self aware. This and all of that. I'm also told that they're planning on continuing with this into camp and Justin Fields is going to be the second team quarterback in camp and work with the twos and anti dog is going to work with the ones that makes it tougher feels to win the job. The field is going to play a lot in the preseason, but they're planning to commit a ton of snaps. But Albert I'm looking at the situation in Chicago, and if I'm trying to hold on to my job, don't I go to the rookie to see that's the thing like we're a package deal? This is our future. Right, And so like that's the thing is like, you know, you hear about like, well. Is that, like Canada Speak Kansas City, and Matt Nagy, the coach. There was in Kansas City for the Mahomes redshirt year, so he's got credibility when he's talking about it that way. I just think this is different, and that Andy Reid at that point was in his fifth year, and Alex Smith was so established in Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes was more of a curiosity than anything else. At that point, we didn't know Patrick Mahomes was Patrick Mahomes. You know what I mean? Like, and so it was a little easier for them there. I just I think this is interesting because at the first sign of trouble, and it's not like a star studded offense around 80 Dalton, you're going to hear from the fan base you're going to hear on local radio. It's going to be everywhere. Put Justin Fields in and I'm less you in that, like, what's really interesting about this is it can be a mechanism to save your job. If you're Ryan pacer Matt Nagy wear It's if we can at least show ownership that we got the right quarterback A and that be. We're developing improperly and we're building momentum going into 2022. It's going to be harder for an owner to pull the plug on that. And if we just sat on the whole year, nobody knows what he is. Great to talk to you. As always, Albert. Thank you. All right. Thanks, Dan. Appreciate. That's Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter and lead content strategist for the Monday morning quarterback will take a break phone calls coming up. And at the top of the hour. We will, uh, talk to the sideline reporter who ran into Kevin Durant last night and it didn't go well. Jared Greenberg will join us. We'll ask him about that awkward encounter with Kevin Durant. Take a break back after this. Oh, Is your dad's razor older than you are? Does it belong in a museum? We'll get.

"People basically talking about him like he's a bum. See your fucking curse and just go off. Would Because if I'm Andy, dominant my pants, you know? Damn attention. I'm in the National Football League. I'm the quarterback in Chicago Bears. You can kiss my You know what? But you know that's not what people mental is. Don't It is not because you can't escape it, man. You people who know especially in Charlotte, People were saying stuff to you walking down the street. Do you think about when people say something to you? Or when article pops up about Yuki people like Hey, Do you see article that came up that you can't run away from something's days. Good. You should read it. It's a good That's what I said. Using this fuel is any Dalton in the bottom half like it went to about 32 teams, right. So is he 17 to 32 as far as starting quarterbacks or is he within the top 16? Talent wise. Where would you put him? You get in the middle. I'm just trying. He's like right there. I mean, he's he's like a little middle back metal back in right right down the middle. Right, So it's not a back. He's right back talking. But it's just about Chicago. That's why, Yeah, so many movies that are at the top, and we all know the top guys are right. There's only five of them. The rest of the guys. I kind of just They're right, you know, and in his division Would you put him in seconds? Think about it. See everybody second In that division. Nobody separates they sell. Whether it's Jared Jared golf, So if if I told you were picking teams on, I said to you Right there. Marge is off the board. But he was picked number one. J already took him. You have to take the next quarterback to be your starting quarterback out of that division who you take it. I'm taking care of God. Are you okay? Yeah, I'm taking okay. Can I just go back to a point and going Because we talked about this yesterday, I was gonna make sure reiterated. Bear starting quarterback since the year 2000 when we put up that list that list Oh, my God. Nature Too Risky. Here it is. Nick Foles, ESPN to righties. Daniel Mike Glennon 18 million. My Clinton by the way. Tenor century. I mean, Jay Cutler, I'll take Jacob. Okay. Okay. Matt Barkley, Brian Hoyer. Jimmy Clausen, Josh McCown. Jason Campbell. I mean, it's You adjust? McCown and Cade McNown. Something funny about that. Jason Campbell is that that's what I'm saying. Look at the list. It's a longer list. Kordell Stewart started. That's almost a quarter I came to count. How many quarterbacks is that greasy was? No, I know Brian Greasy. Was there, obviously for 56789? Is that not any true I can't say That's a lot of cubes. Exactly. 46 18 that's like almost since 2001.3 quarterbacks per year, Barkley Look at the names on this Christian Lor here. Chris China, Jim Miller. Yeah, them didn't do it all the way before, right? Played against all them dudes like there's definitely a rap lyric there just with crabs with Josh McNeal, Josh McCown in case that that that's a literally one, dude, I mean, all those dudes. Played. They're different ages and stages of the careers, but it's only really one Dude on that list tonight. Rock wit that would be J color the rest of the day. So any dog is just supposed to be the guy right lately. He's the guy QB one right? That's what they say. Let's bring this back from yesterday only because Jay and I just want to see Keyshawn. Just detonate right? And I want people at home to feel what keep here It is to like if you could you on radio. You can't see it. But when you listen to the voice in the explanation I want you to try to picture with Keyshawn is trying to say what he says. That guy is deciding your fate, and I'll be Ryan Pacer. Gee, I'm talking about what the Bears could do it 20, even though they already have two veteran quarterbacks. If we did you have to quarterback I do think it's it's a good room. For sure. I mean, those guys are both have a lot of experience. A lot of different experiences to which I think is good. I think the coaching staff that we have there that position is strong as well. We talked about it earlier with Matt and with laser would slip. It's a It's a strong coaching staff around that position and Get a lot of veteran leadership in that room, too. So it answer the question. Do you think it's that would be a good room for a young player to enter? But again? We're just gonna take the best players throughout this grab c. I can't do it. No, I can't do it. Let it out. I just I can't do it just because you want the letter Rain. It's true. You can't let her rip. No, I'm just saying they Employed him. To be in charge of what they're going to do in the draft. That really bothers you. Well, they have to veterans, and it's a good move for young quarterback. Great Glen in $18 million to be a backup because you eventually drafted moved up to get Mr Biscuit. I just Yeah, That was good, right? Yeah. That was before John Stafford versus something else. Yeah. John Kennedy say ESPN Internet. 79 377 cents. What's gonna David in Wisconsin on the Bears, David. Hey, What's up, guys? Um Yeah, whatever they do with quarterback in the draft because they're going to draft one at some point. I really just hope it's not Mack channels. As long as it's not him. Trade up. I'm fine. Why you don't like Mack Jones Man flavor to my white on Alabama's Mike Jones. Because nowadays You're a pocket passer, young quarterbacks. They don't work. Like all all the pure pocket passing quarterbacks. They're all in their thirties. Really like what goes around comes around. The trends always seem to come back, and I think that I think it's the Bears did that Chicago is gonna start in Chicago. It's sort of like, you know, it's the mullet. You keep it long enough. Eventually, people were wearing moments again. I'm so tired of this excuse in Chicago from fans and we never had a really good has always been our defense. That we win champions. Well, there's a there's a new age. Well, no, that's that's somewhat. I know, but they got you pretty good here. True, Okay. All right, so it's like, well You could make always had a great running game doesn't mean that things can't change for the future doesn't mean that you can't be adaptable and change out was always been and say, Well, things that have always been in relations don't mean it's gonna help new age relationships, like things are different these things, but I think I want you just think about Four minutes O J. When you just go around certain organizations within the letter, it's the weirdest and I don't even know the work that I'm looking for. But you make. Don't do your Duke dictionary and help me. It's a weird thing in organizations and style of play in football. I can point to the Steelers are always gonna be the Steelers. They're gonna run the football to go play defense..

"Google play. E No. Your clothes a happy man this weekend because of Valentine's Day, But because Jake area is back in Chicago, Jake is back. The Cubs are bringing him back, baby. I mean, it's like the wares, handful years too late. I know Jake. It really same kind of guys. Well, yeah. I mean, I wish you would have been here before you see his last couple of years, and it's been awful exponentially. Injury filled injury filled, but you're gonna get him in a bargain basement price right now. Is that what you're gonna get him? Absolutely. And how many wins did he have when he left compared to the great To the great Satya Haro know, do our guy that was Sarah. You dark? Yeah. All right, but he definitely one more in Philly than you did. Let's just compare the notes. I mean, I know how great you Darvish was. Which of his 15 victories were your favorite. I don't have one and let's face it last year 60 game season. Yu Darvish was phenomenal. Yes, he would phenomenal pitcher. Nobody's going to deny that second, the Cy Young. Yes, He was phenomenal. It's the first time we saw that you saw incident the year before in the second half arm. But you never really saw it on a consistent basis. That was last year and a half were the dominant Yu Darvish. You expect? Well, it was a half year last year, Right? Well, I see you're 60 s, like a full season, so I mean, he barely gave you 16 81 140 games, right? He gave you some quality starts. Yeah. He also had a penchant for getting a lead on giving it right back in the bottom half of the inning. So it's a little bit disheartening while Jake is back so well and then great area to bring back the noise, huh? Hey, this team's not gonna be good this year. No, I don't think that because they're under. I'm betting the under. I don't as Vegas released totals. I bet you well, the Dakota numbers came out tonight. I'm under on Big Dakota. Good, don't it, Doctor that if Dakota I am on the underground the Dakota number right now, something we discussed briefly during cross talk, and we haven't forgotten about this Steve Kerr story. I think Mount Miller. Did you find that? Yeah, well, that's right there, Right there on your screen you want We'll play in a minute. Um, we did not. We brought. We brought this up briefly. During cross talk. Jericho is making a few jokes. I read it on sports mockery. Eric Lambert wrote a story, but it was based off of Something from the Bears Block, which is a good blogged Jeff Hughes, who runs the Bears blogged. On. Derek even writes this in the story, he writes, Jeff use of the Bears Block is proven to have some interesting connections around the NFL in the past. One of them is a high ranking executive. He calls redacted. I like that's pretty good right in the middle of an interesting interview. He was asked his opinion on the supposed lame duck status of Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy. His answer was rather educational. This is from redacted, a high level NFL executive. First thing, and I've told you this previously nobody I spoke with believe Ryan or Matt was getting fired. And if they were, both would have been hired again within 12 hours. If they wanted, I would have pushed hard for us to bring Ryan in, but he'd more than likely go back to Shawn's. This is someone working in the NFL saying, Hey, I go all in on Getting Ryan pacer, but he's probably gonna go back to New Orleans and your co maid, the funny joke. They love him in San Francisco, or they can't wait to get him in fresco would be beating down the door of me. Look, you might want Ryan Pace to be like a scout for you. The point is, Where's that? Prove? What is that? Yeah, like I bet you there are a lot of teams. That would say, Hey, Ryan, you want to come be a scout the way it always is. Whatever Coach ends up getting fired. One of his friends in the league is gonna find a way to save him. The way I've been mired. Tried to go ahead and bring that guy then. Right, you know? Okay, look, you have a second chance enough time has passed. Let's sign him down here, then right away, people started to play. There's probably a lot of value to from a guy who's been a general manager. If you could sell them on the idea of coming in being your director of pro scouting, or, you know, college scouting like where he's underneath, somebody probably brings a lot of value in that role. What would anybody be jumping up and down? The hired Ryan Paces here? General manager was just fired. That's the follow up and you hire him to be your GM. I'd love to hear all the people that would beat down Ryan Pace is stored in their next general. Manager of director of pro scouting and keep him away from college scouting. Maybe, you know, director of pro personnel. You know, assistant to the director of pro personal Keep on the pro person outside keeping away from the college. Can you find us? Another Mike Glennon at $18 million right now. Right now, I have no doubt that if and when the Bears move on from Ryan Pace I'll get a job somewhere in the National Football League. Like we just said, working in a scouting department. Maybe even a very good job is reading a scouting department picked job director of non quarterback personal Perfect That would be his job. You'd have a director of quarterback personnel, and then we want all your advice and everybody else But the quarterback position places you're gonna pick all of our 4th and 5th round selection should be made the director of 4th and 5th Man, Maggie would be a tremendous quarterback coach. Tremendous and that's it quarterback, maybe coordinator. Maybe he'll get another shot to be a coordinator I bashed And maybe part of the reason Ryan Paces struggled as a GM is because he's always willing. He's the final decision maker. He's always willing Go ahead and trade assets for the guys who he falls in love with as a you know, as somebody who's running your pro or college scouting. He that doesn't necessarily get the final call on what you're willing to trade. Yeah. I mean, I think it's a little misleading. If you're out there promoting well no. The week thinks very highly of mad Maggie and Ryan Pace, a source said in the league did hire that doesn't mean that they necessarily Think I lived them to do the jobs that there Being entrusted to do now at Halas Hall. Those aren't the same thing, right? Respecting that Maggie and respecting Ryan pace and thinking that they can do the proper jobs that they've been entrusted to do are two very different things. So the comment being educational Really kind of educated you that they go back to work in the NFL, but not at the positions they'd be in. Yeah, Brian paces like 40. He's not gonna be done working in the NFL when the Bears fire him, right. Well, I mean, he's gonna work in or 30 65. So you know, I don't like the idea that people would be clamoring for them to immediately make him a general manager again. No, he's probably have to work his way back into that. Where they stop somewhere else running a personnel department and maybe you will get another shot. Maybe you'll do better..

"Well, why don't you look at yourself first, man? I mean, dude, you scored three points in this game. I mean, I know it's nine. But no, it was three point in. Quite honestly. You're an offensive guru. That's why you came here. And those stats that himbo just just put up on Dan talked about. That's not except the one I. You've got to the playoffs, you know to at the last three years. Congratulations. That's because that the inner sees a hell of a lot weaker in the Air Sea. What the When I look at this, you know your guy at Northwestern Chicago kid that fits better because this guy that plays in Chicago this guy? I mean, I don't I don't like him. I don't like the way he doesn't take every day of bullet form. That's your job As a head coach, you don't make your quarterback. Take every woman. You take the day bullets, and that's why I don't respect about this. You lost me on the path for Gerald thing that that's silliness. You did you hear campaign see, Schefter said many teams have reached out, and Patty said no to all interviews. Pretty good. So I packed my being this Maggie guy, little bit more scratches. Now you guys kind of compact, Fitzgerald and his agent I've been leaking. I know we need to run the ball. More than half the league's called Glad Randy I was gonna say was just here. Kim Jordan yesterday. Did you play that? Play that shortened yesterday. I did not listen to this. This from Rich. I am Jordan with rich guys is much of a conversation will be about troop risky and his quarterback skills. Where does he rank for you In quarterbacks that you got ready for this season? Do you think he is a threatening quarterback? In the NFL. Can I plead the fifth? Wow. Strong. Wow. All right, Randy. Just ask to George McCaskey. If Ryan pacer received the contract extension, and he said neither Matt or Ryan have received contract extension. They got that gold form. Yeah, Randy put this on the pole at ESPN 1000, who's worse off Wisconsin last night against Michigan or the Bears. And you know it was coming. And you is coming, Mark? Uh huh. You better talk with your boys. Wow. Oh, wow. 30 63 Run. I think it was that was actually 43 to 6. Michigan's pretty good now, though. So what long car? No, not all that you want. Howard, coach. Come on, Carm. It wasn't Rutgers. Okay? Michigan, 43 6. Which gives pretty good. No, no, They're excellent that maybe you could just see myself. It's good. They're great. I mean, 6 43 to 6. That's like, you know. I think it's Gonzaga. They were everyone else school best That was a high school game called asked me just tell you this every time Wisconsin wins could be fast asleep because I got to get up early. Freaking guy right in there, Randy American who I love dearly will send me some text Go bad. You're lucky Sunkist. Yeah, and last night quiet as a church mouse. Why he chatter than that? He chimed in on our text chain. Bucky still sucky that that's the kind of that was a better football team is losing sucky Bucky much sucky last night, wasn't it Was it was He's sucking you host time that Z. There's a good wattles. Here's a good waddle story. That Fitzgerald is listening to this show. We don't know it. I said, Hey, Tommy, let's do our picks. Northwestern Wisconsin. He goes, Wisconsin will move unencumbered. That was his rough line unencumbered up and down the field. If it's going to be a blow up, Northwestern beats them and holds in the like seven points. The next Monday, we get pat on and he goes, Let me start to show like this, Tommy. Unencumbered, huh? My car, he said unencumbered. Tom had no, it's not going well. At that point. What can you say? Pretty good. It's so good. It's great. But Michigan is is a good man. Beast. How about their coach? Yeah. She wants a guy that no one wanted to give a chance to have been the Bulls coach. Yes, I don't know why. I mean, Jim Boylan, Juwan Howard. Go boy like he was putting this time. It wasn't he? I mean, like, I don't know why the right way under the leadership of Pat Riley and Air Expos struck learning under the learning tree, obviously, of Riley. And he couldn't take it any NBA job. But when home calls you got to take that call, right. Good for missions. So Michigan I mean, that's a juggernaut. Right now. They look good. And if there's no night off in the big 10, except that's true if you play for annoyed when you play Bucky, Kentucky and Fred over. Yeah, I'm just busting your chops right off days off. Oh, All right. All right, guys. Asked him Indiana. I have a great day. Thank you. You too, right. But would you bring in forest cards that there's some cigars, but they're not for you. I'll share. I'm kidding. "They backed their way into the postseason. They don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Was an extra spot was created. All right. That's the standards going in. They didn't win that last game of the season that even shop against the Bears. So because they beat three bottom 60 fences and the final four games. They get into the plants and people think differently, Mr Biscuit? Absolutely not. If you watch that game. If you watched that game on Sunday, it was terrible. Safety and play well. Saints are bad. The best defense continues to play good football. And the offense is just miserable. And that's even with Montgomery and the offensive line getting better as the season did progress. Yes. You had winds drop that football, which did not help but still, you're not winning that game. Who's responsible for the incompetence. And the failures of Mr Biscuit. It's Matt Maggie. And who's responsible. For Mitch to risky It's Ryan Pace. A guy could have drafted to Shawn Watson. The guy could have drafted Patrick Mahomes. I saw this stat on Get up already. Yes, I'll read it again today because it's worth repeating. The Bears offensive scored one Fewer touchdowns in 18 out of the 50 games under Matt Maggie, including the playoffs. That's not just on that nag. It's on Ryan Pace. Who's Ryan Pace, giving Matt Maggie to have success with They just have to be an average offense. They would be a good team. They're constantly below average on offense. So the Bears bring back Matt Maggie. They bring back Ryan Pace. And what does it signify to me that they had no guts? That they're foolish. They should get ahead of the process right now, because I could guarantee this this time. That's your most likely the Bears don't have an answer at quarterback. The Bears are not a good team, and you're gonna be sitting back and you're most likely gonna be firing Ryan pacer Matt Maggie..

"At. We have a dynasty here in Alabama, so I would probably lean towards the Alabama factor, but I could definitely understand if someone said the Saints How about yourself there I'm with you Tell Italian they've once set or six titles with Nick save in there, says he he left and it's like who even knows what where the landscape of the sport would go, Milly. It's more open, right definitely is more open, right? Well, if you take a powerhouse Alec, who knows which team is you were talking and you don't get those classic national championship games between Alabama and Clemson, right? You don't Yeah, I would say, because of the impact on the sport like the individual impact of the same stories Unbelievable. But to see the consistent success because there were some years where the Saints Mr plans for years in row Alabama each and every year it seems as if they win the championship. So that's the what if question on the whole Drew Brees situation. Then I want to get into this, too. So this was a big game for Justin Fields. With what he did in the last game, though he started to cement himself back in the number two pick spot. I'm not going to spend too much time on this because we'll have months to talk about it. The number two pick in this draft is the most fascinating storyline heading into the draft. As you know, Trevor Laurence is going one to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The question is where the Jets going to do it, too. Do they take a quarterback? If they do take a quarterback is a Justin Fields or is it Zach Wilson? Today. Keep the pick. Keeps them. Donald addressed the best offensive lineman in this draft, who is thought to be in today. Soul out of Oregon. Or Do they just sell that pick for King's ransom? Team maybe moves up for a lineman or one of those quarterbacks more likely, and Fields Arolsen and you get just a bevy of pics with so many needs and so many holes on that roster. Think about that. I'm not going to say that last night totally throws out Justin Fields and being the number two overall pick. Yes. You saw a bad game again in the Big 10 championship? Yes. Then you saw just unconscious performance. And out of this world performance. In the semifinal up against Clemson Reade through six touchdowns. I would say the health factored into because he said he felt fine. He did not look fine on the football field last night. So right now, I would still think that the Jets are going to take a quarterback. I still think right now it's going to be just in fields. I just wonder what the Jets going Because if you tell me the Jets take finacial. I wouldn't say it's about pick if you tell me they trade back. To get say someone offers in 23 1st round picks. I'm not gonna tell. Tell him it's bad, but if they fall in love with the quarterback You think they have to go with the quarterback? So keep an eye on that Jets number two pick and then finally. Dan Wider, who I guess covers the Bears. Out in Chicago. He says the leak source already know that Chuck began is retiring for the Bears defensive coordinator. But he said league sources Ryan Pace a mat Maggie will be back in 2021. Bad, bad. Bad decision in my opinion by the Bears. Just cause they made the playoffs. It doesn't carry any weight. In my opinion doesn't really mean anything. That team was What five and one to start the season. They backed their way into the postseason. The guy could have drafted Patrick Mahomes. I saw this stat on Get up already. Yes, I'll read it again today because it's worth repeating. The Bears offensive scored one Fewer touchdowns in 18 out of the 50 games under Matt Nagy, including the playoffs. That's not just on that nag. It's on Ryan Pace. Who's Ryan Pace, giving Matt Maggie to have success with They just have to be an average offense. They would be a good team. But they're constantly below average on offense. So the Bears bring back Matt Maggie. They bring back Ryan Pace. And what does it signify to me that they had no guts? That they're foolish. "All right. So we've got the mike you're a folo from the NFL network. This resigned just about an hour and a half ago were so Want you to listen to this when they were going around the league and updating people on everything. And then they came to the bear situation where we haven't heard anything, whether they're staying or whether they're going. Take a listen to Gara follow. I think everybody is kind of on edge right now in Chicago hearing from folks inside that building, saying Don't know, Got kind of a weird feel to it right now. Everything's kind of quiet. It's kind of eerie, so no one there is sitting there saying, Yeah, we're out of the woods. It's gonna be mad Maggie and Ryan Pace for the Bears in 21. Nobody seems to know And now the media is talking about it because there's really been no end of season press conference scheduled to this point, so they're saying that keeps getting Kind of kicked into the future a little bit. So there you go. It's not everyone saying like there's this assumption among some local people and some fans that hey, they're all coming back or we would have heard something. Maybe it's the exact opposite. At this that we're there, smoke there. There's fire well and listen. You can understand why, For all the reasons we talked about now for weeks, yes, like this wouldn't be a shock. It's not like, Hey, we We had a tenant 16 and And, you know, Oddly enough, we were the favorites, and we got beat by an underdog in the first round of place. No, I mean like We have defined this. Unfortunately, for four weeks and weeks and weeks that this has been a very mediocre team over the course of the last two seasons that let me read you this from from Jeff Laurie, who made the decision on a Super Bowl champion. My coach in Doug Peterson yesterday. First of all, let me give you this with the backdrop that and I sort of went over this in a role playing that in the big picture. Of badness and in the small picture of badness. There's lots going wrong, whether it's hey, they bears have the longest championship drought in Chicago, and I believe it's by, like 13 years. Right, So the 85 pairs last one there Super Bowl. The next closest is the 98 bowls. So that they've gone 35 years with the Super Bowl drought. They haven't won a playoff game in a decade, their foreign 18 against the Packers in the last 11 years. This year, they're one in seven against playoff teams. They scored nine lousy points in a playoff game. They have no quarterback of the future. They have no quarterback of the present. So with that backdrop, I read you what Jeffrey Lurie said with the Eagles yesterday and why he fired Doug Peterson, he said. My first allegiance is what will be best for the Philadelphia Eagles and our fans for the next 345 years. It's not based on does someone deserve the hold their job or deserved to get fired. That's a different Bar, so knowing what pace and Nagy has brought you where there is no quarterback of the present. It hasn't been developed where there's no quarterback of the future. It hasn't been drafted where the offense still remains amongst the worst in the National Football League, where the defense is getting older, and they're regressing. What makes you think in the next 34 or five years, it is best for the Chicago Bears to keep Ryan pacer man Maggie. It's a good question. I don't know. Like when people say eight, Nate, and there ain't Nate Nate, Nate Matt. Now he's five over 500 or seven over 500. That's my point that whether you could say well, he deserves to stay with his overall record. Well in the next 345 years. What are the Bears have truly going for themselves? Problem is too. When you're eight, Nate and you start to feel your mortality. You start to make decisions to went try and win enough games so that you remain employed as opposed of a supposed to possibly making decisions that are better for the organization In the long run. That's such a good point. You know what I'm saying? So much, Okay? Yeah. If I'm if I'm Ryan pace, maybe the best thing to do would have been too to cut and run over here or over here over here. But when you start to feel your own professional mortality, what you do is you start to make defensive decisions. That may not be great for the organization in the long run, but their best for what your job security needs. It was a bunch of wind now moves for an 18. And again here Alaska again, if you're if you're George And you're taking a step back. And you acknowledge that you like these people, But this is a business decision. Can George be happy that Ryan pays decided to draft Mitch with second overall pick And then he watches what to Shawn Watson has done in Houston and I get it people they haven't wanted ton, but just open your eyes and watched the kid play. Or what? Patrick Mahomes is done. There's George. Look at the contract that they paid Khalil Mack and Yes, he was. I mean, I think he was the defensive player of the year in 2000 and 18. But that decision With the drafting of Mitch has led to absolutely zero playoff wins. So when when the owner of the team is asking the questions about the guy making all the personnel decisions, and he made this room this move over here. Which was patently wrong with the quarterback, and he made this move over here that cost the ownership but kind of money but didn't result in and not is not totally Mac's fault. But didn't equate to any type of playoff success. How can you Come to the conclusion that the guy who's making the decision on all the groceries is actually got the right shopping list. Yeah, great. Brags wants to converse with us about the Bears. But you said you were going to call yesterday. Then we You kind of Docked in covered..
