"But there's a caddy that maybe not a lot of people know about who I absolutely love is max mcgreevey's caddy. His name is Brett swedberg. The guy is hilarious, he's a family man, lives in Denver, he got started out here caddying for Ryan Moore a couple years ago. And Ryan and Joel share the same agent. So we've bunked up and he's absolutely fantastic. There's a few caddies that you meet along the way and right away you know like this could be one of my guys, like I really enjoy him. And he was one of those guys for me for sure. All right, I've got one last question. Me too, you go first. Three years ago now, we interviewed Joel Damon Wednesday of the genesis. We film, we filmed it all almost three years to the day. And we asked Joel, Joel. This episode is going to come out in the future. It's going to come out here a week from now. So can you predict before the genesis where you will finish at the end of the genesis so that people in the future can see if you were right or wrong? What do you say? Said if I hit driver well I'll finish T 20 if I drive and putt really well, maybe I'll finish in the top ten. I think you maybe said T 12 or something. And so I wanted to pitch the same question to you now. This week, yes, where did you enjoy finish this past week now that it's last week? When people listen to this now, how will you have finished at the gym? This week we finished I'm usually pretty good at this. Yeah, Joel will not hear this until afterwards, so it will not. No, that's fine. We finished 18th this week. Why? Because I'm trying to put it in the correct tense. Joel hit his driver pretty well the week of genesis. Three weeks in a row usually he starts to peek in that week three. He's taken a lot of time off with their newborn baby that they've had. He was playing really well in the fall.

"The win in Dubai on turf last march was really, really strong. That's where I went Bobby, but I'm gonna play kind of against the U.S. sources and against the local horses and in some manner or facet play the Japanese horses. All right, so Dave likes number 7 panther Lhasa who's coming off a group one race in Hong Kong last time out where he ran behind romantic warrior. By the way, romantic warrior runs against golden 60 tomorrow night in Hong Kong at some time around three three 8 3 a.m. three 30 a.m. Eastern Time. I told you I'm a sicko. I know these things. All right, you're going with panthalassa. I'm going with number 6 June lightbulb, who I think is just becoming good at the right time. This was just kind of a listed stake type of horse in Japan for most of his career and suddenly he's turned into a graded stake or group stake type of horse in Japan winning a grade one or a group one last time out. I think he's getting good at the right time. I like that Ryan Moore is aboard. I like June light pole at 8 to one. I think if I'm going to use somebody with taba, that's who it would be of the ones I know tabe is clearly the best. I don't really have any knocks on table. I just think he's going to be a much lower price than what his 5 to two morning line is. Let's head back stateside. In fact, we're going to go to turfway park their featured race tomorrow at turfway is the $125,000 wintergreen stakes for Phillies and mayors going one mile there are four year olds and up here. We've got a field of, well, we've got 14 entered, 12 will run with two AEs, where'd you go? I went with burgoo alley because if the 12 to one morning line is anywhere remotely close to right, I think there's tremendous value. I think this is a fairly open race. Jonathan Wong has opening buzz 5 to two cow bread who is the favorite and I like Wong and I certainly like opening buzzes synthetic form one at Golden Gate, one at turfway park twice. One at del mar on the turf. I think this is a quality horus four of 6, but it's never run more than 7 furlongs gets too turns at turfway on the synthetic tomorrow number 7 Kate's kingdom certainly has good enough races to beat these. Was there an excuse last time as the 6 to 5 favorite did not run well at turfway park, but the previous few were really, really quite excellent. Number 8, public conchita for sheree devoe is a horse that last time out beat Kate's kingdom was 17 to one in that race, quite frankly it just hasn't run quick enough races to beat this group, but maybe is getting good at the right time. Certainly likes synthetic and ROI numbers on devoe on synthetic or great and with the rider are great. But if you really are going to give me double digit odds on burgoo alley and sure, this is a horse that's only run once on synthetic and has been running out in the West Coast. Last time I ran a sprint race, the figs and the quality of races that burglary have been in to just quite frankly are as good or better than everyone else. There's no one else in this race that's been running against a course like going global and burgh walli has not been disgraced against that one. Sure. Burgh Wally has not won since 2021. We don't know about this synthetic. I just think this is a big class drop and a very, very nice value. Okay, so burgoo alley for Dave, I went to the favorite number three opening buzz who I think the sprint races make him make her easily the one to beat if she can handle a mile, I think that's the biggest question mark. She's by Stanford out of an unbridled song there, at least on the damn side, doesn't sound like she'd have any problem. Just stretching out from a sprinter route if she handles it. She's the one to beat. I would use number 5 perfect as well in the wintergreen the featured race tomorrow at turfway park. Gulfstream park stake race tomorrow is the Gulfstream park sprint. These are four year olds and up going 6 furlongs on their main track field of 7 here, Dave, and another race with a ton of speed. Yeah, a ton of speed and you really can go a bunch of different ways. I mean, I understand that candyman rocket is 9 to 5 on the morning line and certainly loves Gulfstream three for three and two for three at the 6 furlong distance, but those aren't stakes races that candyman rocket has won the last couple of times. Now this is, of course, the one the Sam F Davis in 2021 and is certainly capable. I think Beaumont horses tend to get better as they move along in the work on February 13th as of the bullet variety. So if you like candyman rocket, I certainly have no issue with that, but I don't think that's a foregone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination. Lightning Larry number 6, I think, is going to be rolling early right with candyman rocket, uncle Ernie has speed early in the race. I ended up with number one scaramucci, but exactly for the reason you suggested. I think scaramucci is going to run late. I don't love the fact that all of the winds are at parks and last time out at Gulfstream didn't run well, but I'm tossing that. It's a turf race. The two races before that lesser tracks are very, very credible. The figs fit in cure. This is not the horse that I would normally back, but from a pace standpoint and a value standpoint. I think scaramucci fits very nicely. Is candyman rocket the most likely winner? Sure, maybe, but I'm going to try some value and particularly try to beat a horse that I think is going to be a short price racing on a very, very quick tempo. All right, we're on the same horse. I like scaramouche as well. For everything you said, I think the last race is a pitch. I think he should close and erase a ton of speed and 6 to one is a very fair price on a horse who I think on his day is about as good as anybody else in this field we'll see if he gets the right trip getting back to what looks like would be his preferred surface. He's worked well on the Gulf Stream dirt since that debacle on the turf last time out. Scaramucci for Dave and me in the Gulfstream park sprint race 9 tomorrow at Gulfstream. All right, we're going to take another break. When we come back, we're going to head to New York. They've got two stakes on their Saturday card. This is the weekend stakes preview on the horse racing radio network. Sam

"Used to pressure even more homework, farm on race as timings, sectionals, things rights, like absolute balance, they're jogging, are way more equipped to do any job than any guy that's telling us about what we're doing wrong. And I think that's the way it's been important. It's the way it's been put. And I feel there is a small bit of a weakness with the power of duck is now in UK. And in my opinion, I felt we were a bit slow to act, and I'm sorry, no ads. That affects anyone, but I feel the word a bit slow to act on us. When I first heard about it, I was shocked. And then I was even more shocked that no one stood up and said that. You mean the PGA, the PGA, as far as I know, the PGA sent one letter to the BHA in response of the rules. They're representing what would be 300 jockeys have ridden over jumps this season if you were to include every single person. So there's a sizable amount of people there. They could have played this very cleverly. They could have just overwhelmed the BHA. They could have turned around to them and said, okay, we want to sit down. Every single jockey wants to sit down with you individually, and we're going to meet with you one on one. And that would have overwhelmed them. And it would have had to put them on the back foot and make them wait even longer. But the impression I get, and it's just, it's just my impression is that some jockeys and a certain element of the PGA don't want to actually engage with the BHA because they're terrified of repercussions. They're terrified that if they speak out, they are then going to be targeted. And really, it was the big guys who came and fought against it. It was arc winner Luke Morris, Ryan Moore, Harry cobden, Nico de boinville. They were the ones who went and said, here's the problems with it in years why I have an objection to this that and the other. And there's been another element to it as well, which is jockeys who were giving interviews and saying, the stewards told me, I would be given a ban of X amount of days. The BHA started saying, Stewart's don't tell jockeys how many days they'd be given. It's up to the actual whip committee themselves. That might be seen as a throwaway line, but you are effectively calling them liars. And that's what I'm saying. This is the argument I make. And the thing is, it's really easy to corroborate that, because I just contacted the jockeys who spoke publicly. I spoke to three of them, and all you need two sources to confirm a story. Three of them got back to me. The three that I contacted got back to me straight away, and they all said, yeah, we were told exactly how many days we'd be given. So why did the BHA publicly come out and say, no, they weren't told that. And then journalists run with that. Certain journalists were saying, I don't know where these jockeys got those numbers from. Because they were told. So either the stewards lied to the BHA or the BHA lied about the jungles. That's not clever, and that's not okay. Yeah, and to see those people in the sport at a clever enough to know that this is going on. And they're not taking too kindly to it. And they're not going to back to be here, J on this. And then the

Well, you know, every time he comes to America, I mean, not every time, but you know, I just didn't get that right on broom. Hold on. Hold on. You're changing. You throw them in another curve ball here. Ryan Moore is a good jockey. He's not like William Buick. But ain't no blind has been sending chopped liver over here for about three years, okay? He's won a couple of, I mean, I wouldn't bet a question. That was so much. He ran second in the breeders cup turf and won a grade two steaks at royal ascot. I mean, he had a chance to run in the top three at least. Skulls, skulls. Yes, Charles. You know, statue of limitations runs out on everything but martyr okay in the United States. You know, you got to leave some of these races alone. You were dynamic and that woodbine race with that hall of dreams. You were dynamic, but look, let me tell you something. Mister appleby and mister Buick, when they bring horses from Europe, they are the truth. Ryan Moore and mister O'Brien are not the truth. Okay. I'm just telling you, Joel Rosario improves horses. He is a natural gifted jockey. Naturally gifted, chuck. You know, it's just like back in the 80s and early 90s when P Val, which riding at the top of his four. He was just dynamite. Dynamite. I mean, you just, when you made a bet against him, you just feared him. Because he can make a ten to one horse into a two to one horse. He's just a gifted jockey. They're different makers. And that's what Rosario is. When you look at he improves horses. And when you see him stay in with the horse, man. It gets better and that's just like

"Decent horse, isn't she in this? And I think, you know, she showed a very good level of form last season. And they took her over to America, didn't they? For the breeders cup, if I remember correctly. And yes, this is it. For the Phillies turf. And he, yes, she did a lot wrong that day. She had a slow start. She had to be ridden a couple of furlongs out by Ryan Moore, but she really stayed on with purpose at the finish. And she was just beaten half a length. Again, over the mile on quick ground. And, you know, these connections are very respectable, aren't they? They're forced to be reckoned with the course. You know, have a buyer earlier on the card. She's got form with another of the key French raiders here. She beat her comfortably enough on seasonal reappearance. And she's got that nice blend of experience and talent. And I think she's a decent price as well. For all that juncture is my selection. And the value selection at that. I do think this French Philly does have to be respected for connections. She that was a great run in America. And yeah, her form with the other key French horses is decent and of the market, you know, the horses towards the head of the market here and Tuesday would be the two for me, but juncture with the overall selection. Okay. So you've given us a try cast, basically. You're swinging for the fences. And I'm complicating matters then by saying, discoveries has got to go in there. You can't leave discoveries out. It's been such a well, I've got the best blend there. I've got an experienced really, and then the two that were the untapped potential. So all bases covered, hopefully. Yeah, obviously, it's covered for both of us, and then ten briefing comes long slaps in the face and we're like, it was so obvious. It was so obvious. I'll accept defeats. I will too. Again, more than happily celebration for victory if indeed that's how things pan out, but no, I'm like Melissa, I'm inclined to go for something else. Discoveries is my selection. Who's your overall best bet of the weekend? Oh, that's a tough one, isn't it? I can't really go native trail because you say native trail, I will hang.

"Don't know. It's boring. I thought Tana bread, you know, she handles the track really well, obviously. And I presume she's going there without braces. Yeah, straight there. Yeah, you really want to wear Philly, a superstar for the year, and she looks like she could be it. I know people last year were sort of writing off Caravaggio till she won that day. So she was a very important winner. I know it sounds stupid to say because he's obviously one of the greatest trainers, but I thought it was a serious training performance to have her come back from such a break and win like that. Well, he said himself. It couldn't believe him. He said himself. He was like, what? How? And he's the guy who prepped the horse. He almost withdrew her. And he just went, no, she is working well, let's go for it. But he said. I was superb, yeah. Last year there were times where Ryan, I thought it was a bit off, but that was one of his absolutely exceptional pieces of it was an exceptional piece of writing from Ryan Moore. And she's a very, very exciting prospect for the season. She has to be. So look, I'm extremely excited about discoveries. I can't lie about that, but ten of them would do me a massive favor because she's in a bit with Luxembourg for the Derby, so come on. Let's go. Speaking of the Derby, we had the Bali sax. Which has been a very important race in the past. Go back to Galileo. I can have winners in the race as well. And obviously came from.

You and I had a pretty strong view about it. But we both decided that the right thing to do was not to air that opinion. Essentially, because this was the Supreme Court. This wasn't a PHA hearing. This was individuals who were going in and making the decision. And it was pretty politically clear that Freddy was going to win, especially when you've got Ryan Moore flying back from Asia. He's just ridden in Japan, and he flies back on a Sunday Night. To be in court on the Monday and then get back on a plane, or magner flies back to ride in Hong Kong. There's a reason he's doing that. It's a back Freddy and he knew that he was trying to do the right thing. Jim Crowley coming out. Who is also involved in that fall. And you made a very, very sorry Twilight. You don't repeat. There was a very interesting thing that you said as well about the reporting of it at the time. The reporting that at the time was, I know that there was a serious inquiry, but if you look at the racing post and I'm not criticizing them, it says for Jim Crowley, who came down in that fall as well and was sent to hospital, was brought down in the Millie. There really wasn't a big thing made about this at the time. The story was for Freddie and what had happened to him and this man's life was destroyed. And it is incredibly admirable, but he has rebuilt it in the way that he has in his endeavors in the bloodstock industry. In his endeavors in advising people and racing and his absolutely superb work with sky. I mean, he is crushing it with sky. But to take this case in the first place, was a massive, massive thing to do, because this was going to cost an awful lot of money to do. Solicitors and barristers, they want their cat. They want the bag. And they both came out fighting. They both came out with some heavy punches. Until icky is one. We were both of the opinion. This was going to be how it would play out. But what is your overall take on the case? And what is your overall take on what this means for racing in general? Oh, this is obviously going to be very interesting. I'm not sure because the impression.

"It's kind of coming from all sides. And they're hoping that the company will do something to address more board oversight, more transparency in how their algorithm works, how content is reviewed and all in the hope of reducing harmful content on the platform and taking away privacy concerns and hopefully not having risks now with the metaverse project, which is a whole other universe of the Internet that shareholders are really worried that these current concerns will pop over into that virtual reality world as well. Yeah, let's talk about the metaverse because back in October, Facebook announced it's changing its name to meta. It's changing its focus to the metaverse off of social media. What are investors concerned about here? Does this affect investors who maybe thought they were investing in a different kind of company? Well, the boutique investment firm arjuna capital, which has been engaging with Facebook for years and is also a big advocate of shareholder proposals. They actually just want to measure at Microsoft to have more information come forward on anything to do with executives and sexual harassment at the company. So this is not just an it might be a smaller investor, but I mention that because some of these proposals do get shareholder support. Our junior capital filed a proposal asking for the board to commission a report assessing possible harms of the metaverse project. And this is a quote from Natasha lam managing partner of our juna. She said the same issues Facebook is reckoning with, discrimination, human and civil rights violations. Incitement to violence and privacy violations will only be heightened in the metaverse. I do just want to add that Facebook spokesman Ryan Moore had pointed to statements that Mark Zuckerberg and other executives have said about building the metaverse responsibly in keeping people safe and virtual reality. So it's something that they are aware of, but the fact that shareholders are raising this, also brings more attention that even if the proposal doesn't pass, more people are asking about it, more people are raising these questions than before. Have we heard from meta more broadly on how it's reacting to these proposals? So it's still early days. The shareholder proposal deadline was December 10th, which was Friday, Metta spokesman Ryan Moore said that the company values its investors views and engages with them regularly, he also talked about in a statement the responsibility that comes with operating a big global platform and that they do have these very complex issues that impact society and the Internet and that they really are trying to get it right and that they've put 40,000 people on these jobs and they've spent billions of dollars in 2021 and that's all on safety and security..

"Initial reports, one tore a path up to 250 miles long, which could break a 1925 record. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles Ali reisman Michael maroni and hundreds of other athletes who were victimized by longtime national team position Larry Nassar have reached A380 million dollar settlement with USA gymnastics, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic committee and their insurers. The settlement caps of 5 year legal battle during which some of the sport's biggest stores publicly criticized the organizations for failing to protect them. The department of justices inspector general revealed significant mishandling of allegations against nassar when they were brought to the FBI in 2015 and 2016. The $380 million settlement is among the largest ever recorded for victims of sex abuse. The Supreme Court has denied emergency requests by New York healthcare workers for religious exemption against the state's COVID-19 vaccination requirements. The healthcare workers suit is based on a religious objection to abortion derived fetal cell lines. They believe were used in testing and developing the vaccine. New York State argue that the COVID requirement was no different from preexisting requirements for measles and rubella vaccinations. And the state said that the vaccines don't contain aborted fetal cells. Three conservative justices, clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch said they would have allowed the exemptions. Shareholders are pushing meta the company formerly known as Facebook for changes to address harm on its platform, among the proposals from the investor group are more bored oversight to limit harmful content and an assessment of the company's plan for the metaverse. The proposals come as meta is facing heightened criticism after revelations revealed in the Wall Street journals the Facebook files earlier this year that the company knew its platforms caused harm to some users. The Wall Street Journal's Emily glazer has more. I think there's definitely more momentum from investors that they have an opening to press for change because lawmakers on both sides of the aisle as we've seen from several congressional hearings are calling for change and more transparency. We've got customers that are calling for changes, whether it's parents of teen users or otherwise. So there are different kind of pain points that Facebook is facing and so I think even if shareholders don't have as much power because Mark Zuckerberg has the majority of the controlling vote, they feel like this is an opening that they haven't had for years where it's kind of coming from all sides. A meta spokesman, Ryan Moore, says the company values its investor views and engages with them regularly for more on this story, listen to tech news briefing tomorrow morning. And we report exclusively that vox media and group 9 media are in advanced merger talks in a deal that would unite two of the biggest companies in digital media. Sources say the deal would be an all stock transaction giving 75% ownership to vox..

"In 1988 under Freddie had, and wins at Churchill downs. Welcome back to the breeders cup countdown presented by hillendale farms, Bobby Newman and Jude feld. Pleased to be joined now by our good friend and international racing aficionado. Bob and a standover here live at del mar bob. Welcome to the show. We need a lot of help with these zeros. Oh you'll be fine. The only thing I can. There's a lot of them. There's a lot of and we're seeing a lot of them go by. We saw a lot of the Charlie appleby runners actually getting some good breezes on the not official workouts, but really stretching their legs on the turf this morning. We've seen a lot of the other European invaders just kind of trotting around the main track going the opposite direction, cisa hand, just came by for the second straight time. And like most overlooks is for him. We're not going to overlook anything. You know what? We just made my day. We need a lot of help. So, you know what? There are a lot of European invaders. This year. The Lasix, a lot of purse money. And you know what? The Euros for years have done very, very well in breeders cup races, not only the turf races, but some surprises on the dirt, of course, our Kong is the one that really shake out but do got the job done. House buster and the sprint was at 1991, I believe. Absolutely. I watched this danger would have won. They had a little bit of a jumping incident. They came here. But mendelsohn, another one, ran greater. So there have been several, but as far as the turf races go, you know, they're loaded top to bottom both Friday and Saturday with invaders from places other than North America. So let's just start with Friday. Because a lot of us don't get to see a lot of these races. You know, we can watch tapes, we have a little bit of an advantage now with like YouTube. Where we can go back and watch 20 years ago, we were just kind of trusting what we heard what the word was on horses like dancing brave and trampolino and horses like that. So let's start with Friday. We've got three turf races for the two year old starting with the turf sprint. Anybody catch your eye horses that we should pay attention to? Yeah, I'll start right off with a one horse Twilight jet. I saw him race, I was at newmarket on October 8th. He has been a very busy two year old campaign after the race, Michael calhan, they won the race easily. And roach, he is a very quick and durable son of Twilight son, and Michael Callaghan said he's the best where she's ever trained. Now he's relatively new trainer but he's trained some very good horses. I knew he drew the one halt hole that's a negative for for many two year olds. I don't think of seasoned as this horse is that will affect him at all. I think he has a fantastic chance. The four horse vertiginous. Whose train by Brian, of course, won the breeder's cup turf with red rocks, and Frankie wrote a Churchill, wasn't it? Yeah. I won't forget that thing. This is kind of interesting. He's bred to like, you know, firm turf. He's been very consistent. He's only won the one race. I think the most consistent and reliable Euro in the race is the 7 horse armor. He's extremely honest. He's trained by Richard Hans ridden by Ryan Moore. He's the son of no name never. He had a very unappealing trip in his last start. He was drawn on the wrong side of the course and I sort of noticed that he really sort of battled on and ran a good race. So the €2 I like in here both who are decent prices are the one Twilight jet and the 7 armor. You know the inside here in turf sprints of really good posture. Yeah, much better than like Saratoga where you almost throw the horses out of the rail. Yeah, I wanted to ask you something Jude. Don't they normally run 8 horses and 5 for long term faces aren't they running 12? Yes. That's true. They limit it to 8 in the turf sprint. Yeah. The funny thing is about this term, of course, the speed does very well in the sprints. The closers are awesome in the routes here. It doesn't matter how slow the pace is. They come running, you really need to be good to go gate to wire in or turf route here. We saw it actually with yesterday's opening day races. The closers just were great in the turf routes, but the sprints, the speed has a chance. Horseshoe didn't mention that's been very consistent in his career as hierarchy. There are some people that like hierarchy with those Shane Murphy, what are your thoughts on her? I am. Yeah, it's a really nice mask. A lot of a milk at mcnair is bred to be very quick. I think the fact that the horse is turning back to 5 furlongs is very interesting that auto make appeal. I think he's got a chance. I mean, let's face it, this is a very, very tough raise. I mean, Wesley, the American horses are very good in here, and in this 5 for a long way out here as you said on firm turf on a really appeal to really quick horses, so it ought to be right and Wesley ward's ballpark. I do think that I do think of all these horses. I think Gobert goes who's David lock name also comes from the UK. I think he's a little bit overmatched. I think he's already run his best races this season the three go bears go. Hierarchies interesting to me, but I really sort of greatly prefer armor and I really do like Twilight jet who's going to be a pretty large price. There are several Euros in both the juvenile Phillies turf and the juvenile turf. What are your thoughts on those two races Friday? I love a horse in the juvenile Phillies turf, which goes off as Reyes aid on Friday's card at four ten. I really love the French invader the 12 horse male of ath, who is trained by Francis Henri graffard and shanti, and will be ridden by Ryan Moore for the first time as only ever sprinted is also by mamos whose very successful stay and has a very stout pedigree and seems like she has been crying out for more distance all season, and if you watch or raise which you can do on YouTube and on the front, the Franco website, when she won a group to at shanti on October 9th, over 6 furlongs, she obviously was the 6 furlongs and heavy ground. She's very versatile in regards to the going, the firm turf shouldn't bother at all. And I think she has a very, very strong chance to run a huge race. I think the two turns and the added distance will really help her. One Philly that I saw over there that really impressed me is the 13 also a closer a very good-looking Philly named meson whose by the incredibly popular say in syene out of a Galileo mare, so that's two turns all the way. That's James Ferguson and the trains in new market with ocean Murphy the British champion writer riding riding or ease the routine rider for the owner guitar racing. So she looked well. She's very attractive and she ran a nice race in the Phillies mile. So I love malavath in there and I really like the 13 Miz and son. There are €4.

"Every single acting winner was white people. Well that's just how it is. I mean it was. Just you know the crown but that didn't you. You're not following some rubric. That like just like the numbers. Don't lie you know. Like it's all so i don't know why people i don't know it's this shouldn't happen. I think the thing that i will say defensive had limited series thing shook out is that category did a better job than any other of spreading the wealth. Like you got a bunch of acting wants from irvy's town. You've got to windsor queens gamut. You got the win for may destroy you and you know for the category with i think the strongest shows in it. That's what we wanna see like we don't really wanna clean sweep. I don't think and that's why the crown felt so boring katie we. We haven't even mentioned the most surprising limited series winner which is halston of halston. I didn't watch a minute of halston. And i like to watch poston. And so how. How'd you win. He was good. I mean the show was very ryan moore. It was it was. It was the kind of ryan murphy that i enjoy versus the kind of ryan murphy that is not for me so in in terms of his net flicks output. It's definitely at the top That might sound like damning with faint. Praise you mcgregor is very good in it but think katie. You've talked about this. About how paul bet knee Seems like divisions best shot So when a main emmy and Regarded winning over him. Does kind of feel also like Like a strange turn of events especially because one division then walked away with nothing. Yeah i mean. I think we all thought kathryn hahn was one division specially we stop and then julianne nicholson beating her but again like that like watching gillian. Nixon beat kathryn hahn. It was like well. There's so many good shows. I'm glad she went to like seeing the competition. Among these like real incredible works at television was tough. Yeah that was an exciting upset. That was upset me. i was. Yeah i was upset. I wished for that. Kathryn hahn had one trillion. Nicholson is so great to that. It's not you can't begrudge that win and they had the whole mayor vs on table seated like right behind the stage. You could watch them like be excited like while they're giving speeches which i loved it. It was a good setup for them. Yeah half of jean. Smart speech was directed towards hacks. But yeah i mean. That's the thing about like julian. Nicholson win it was. That was a big surprise. I thought like. I'm not good at predicting the emmys. But i was like surely kathryn hahn. There was a song like she get like. It was a big thing but kathryn. Hahn julianne nicholson have kind of. I mean they've done very different work but they similarly. They've been in the industry for couple of decades. Now they've consistently been good and finally had like breakthrough things you know this year. I mean i guess. Han has led an hbo show like she. She's been maybe a little bit higher in terms of profile than nicholson has been stepbrothers. Yeah but like both wins would have been nice and deserved. I mean they are both serve among the standouts of their respective shows. Life is full of things to manage your work your family your plans and.

"Time guest to the show this man is responsible for love American racing he was part of the old eighty or one of his favourite beds is the box and not only is he abetting genius he's also one of racing's nice guys it is my absolute privilege to welcome to the show Barry Faulkner on bushing onto one suit box exact barry it's about time you made your debut in the final furlong my friend India and great to have you onboard as well looking forward to your thoughts your expert thoughts for what should be too exciting nights of racing on sky sports racing and you can hear in the background making his little giggling cab can be over the last five years we've been doing this together so we have to have the main man on board Pete Foreign it's Al from sky sports racing welcome back and it's a pleasure to be here that was my first final Furlong podcast ever back in twenty fifteen when I was living over in London then and I think back to that very fondly going from being a regular listener to getting to be on the show on a regular basis it's always a pleasure and I'm happy to be here no you're kind man my friend and it's good to have you aboard as well we couldn't do this without your insight as well and speaking of that let's get a brief snapshot of things are we go in there because Santa Anita is normally gold for the Europeans I think this is the record amount of time that track has has held the Breeders Cup but opean runners have never gone away from Santa Anita empty-handed there have been some tracks where we struggled but entries are down this year the pre entries were down the overall European and particularly UK and Irish representations down the obvious exceptions this is Brian and is this is to do Peter and we discussed this in the final film podcast earlier in the season with some of the difficulties some of the series difficulties that sent any face regarding fatalities because let's not forget it was only a few months ago that the Breeders Cup themselves had a meeting to decide whether or not sent an easy would keep it and at the time the word was it was going to be taken off them have things been sorted out and is there still a little bit of nervousness in the air ahead of the biggest meeting of the entire year to be honest I hadn't thought about the welfare issues as a reason why the euro participation is down I was thinking it was somewhat ran them but it's not it's not a crazy thought but I'd like to think that with all effort that's been made in California on you and with California racing together this surface right and say that if that if that is the underlying reason that that that's a erroneous Yes eroneous logic I'd like to think that we've got a service that we was going to play hopefully in a manner that's fair and most important Paul safe over the two days of the Breeders Cup and for the remainder of this fall meeting at Santa Anita well the fact that you haven't been thinking about it tells me that the been less issues lately they've hopefully then iron things out so that should be good barry what are your thoughts on it we donated with the West Coast the entries this year the same level as a two years ago in Delmarva we've got one more race this year significantly down on the entries interest for the British Company in Kentucky last year I doubt in general I think it's a disadvantage for horse shipping California hosted Slip Shipping East but they do that so relative time there's an east coast and they just as far as the truck goes treated hundreds from work and they've done significant amount and hopefully they will have resolved issues they undoubtedly how dealer in the year the cause of the lack of interest from this year I don't really think civilian position to say okay well hopefully things are all aren't out and we can be really excited about the race meeting I genuinely am the other thing to talk about is pace and draw bias because there's definitely draw bias at Sente- Nita impeach you've got some big about that well it's what we're trying to hit a moving target addressing this issue but I think it's something worth considering part of the safer surface I was talking about has to do with the the rail not being gene the place to be more typically in American racing in twenty twenty and we've seen this at a lot of places and it's not super consistent but I mean like Saratoga for example the inside was really not where you want it to be much of the meat now we don't exactly know what it's going to be like for the Breeders Cup something we have to pay attention to because it is very difficult down on the inside you got some short priced favourite to ordinarily I'd like quite a bit core drawn down there but as with all time you try to play the bias game at my friend Mike Baloney the professional horse player says if you WanNa dance with bias you best do so on your toes and that's very much the case but what we've seen at Santa Anita it's very unusual typically good inside means good things for speed and bad inside means it's easier to come from off the pace but what we've seen at Santa Anita this meet on Sundays is as part of the the surface also there's a lot of kickback and it can be difficult to close so you wanna be up towards the front but you want to be up towards the front and not necessarily down on the inside now whether not this is going to be the go forward to be the case for the Breeders Cup I'm not GonNa make any assumptions about it but I'm going to be looking for it and I'm going to act quickly and upgrade horses on I'm talking about the dirt of course horses on the dirt who are going to get that kind of preferred trick and what about you would you be reacting than in real time as well because I remember Breeders Cup where I think it was the year in Vizor won the Breeders Cup classic he was the exception to the rule but everything drawn on the inside like almost if you were on the dirt install water still to you immediate advantage for whatever reason the way that was playing out so I know that you've been studying for the last week or so barry and particularly since the drawers been announced yesterday and today but will you be reacting in real time to how the draw plays out on the night on Sky I think the key thing looking oh bison shifted very very careful because we know sort of simple Harlem hospital you know you'll get a show class FA across favorites join inside wins by St and some inside draw boss that's not indicate indicators you get along show them means how to take on they didn't hangs around and then finishes a close fourth that tells you that the drill by so you hundred very careful how you look at the data it's being presented you you call you see what you're saying if there is the current vice that let's stay alerts and try and take advantage so that we can get maximum gravy so over the two nights all of it live on Sky I've got a brilliant promo to pray at the halfway stage here but let's get straight into the Breeders Cup juvenile turf sprint I'm almost afraid to say the name for the reaction from Pete Four Hundred L. Kamari dear we've got four wheel drive the good as we are getting a decent price seventy two but the terribly unlucky horse at Royal Ascot four wheel drive is currently a best price of nine to two if you look at the races dot com there's allie making the trip over to represent the Europeans to be fair that's for seven Crisford with old friend Frankie Dettori on board as well so there are the three that had the bedding was the awards what are the representation Ena Brian sending over King Neptune with Ryan Moore who will be writing all of his main hopes for the week Barry and I will talk about the group one I stakes which would be run at Newcastle just before we move on Saturday that's a fascinating races has been reopened but Kamari was your goatee the horse for Roy Alaska he's too from to since he has been he was a long odds on favourite in one of those races short price favourite and the other are you sticking with the my friend she's the real deal Kamar very impressive as you pointed out did everything but win at Royal Ascot on ground that she didn't love and has looked so good in the starts since particularly in the last day showing new dimension coming from last I I had ripped up my ticket practically after they broke from the gate at Keeneland that day figuring out what you can't win from their managed to get the job done anyway and has looked very good in her track were park as well she worked out with down for nowhere the other day and really went to the toying with bound for nowhere in a work and then all he went and did is run a massive time figure in an impressive victory in his race last week I think she sitting on go I think she's square price four wheel drive is another ward runner who is very talented is actually done better on the clock Kamari has I plan on getting Kamari to win yes and I'll play a forecast exact with a four wheel drive over Kamari to back that up in just taste. I'm very curious to hear what you guys think of alley as a potential one to upset the apple cart I just don't know I love him I I don't know how well he's going to be sued by this by this configuration of the very sharp five furlongs around dead but it's Kamari from me
