"Because when you had your tweet the other day, Richard about the controversial missions that I immediately thought of me not having arike. So I was wondering if it was her for you but I guess it's other people in your case. Yeah, we'll see who's left once I finally make up my mind by the end of this, yeah. Yeah, and so the other thing on the rique as you allude to, Kevin, is you stop kicking the ball, man. Just stop kicking the ball. The ball don't touch your foot to the ball. It's cool that you, I mean, it's one thing to stop the ball with your foot. That's cool. Like when it ends up ten rows in the stands, that's not a, oh, I just accidentally stopped at the wrong way. Sorry, I'm not buying that argument. Yeah, I mean, the problem with saying I'm a soccer player first is, in that case, he's a really bad song. That's why she's playing basketball now. Yeah. He's got what we call the first touch of a brick wall. In that game where she managed to punt one into the stands, if you do it every time, and it's never gone dead rose into the stance. That makes me think that maybe you were pissed off because your team is trailing at the half time of the game. And you weren't playing terribly. I don't know. I don't know. It certainly looked like she kicked the ball. Then she did it in another game. Like two games after that, like I oh man, I forgot what it was. Like it was a foul off the ball ball camera rolling tour and she tried to tip it up to yourself and it went flying towards half court. I was like, stop. Just don't touch all your foot. We're going to say that that's why she's not on your team cup. Just the message gets through. She's not on Kevin's all star team because she's kicked the ball too many times. I'm sorry, Richard, it was your first time through the ball too many times. Right or whatever it was that the LA ejection, whatever she said. Well, that one she just kicked the stanchion, which you shouldn't. Right, yeah. So no kicking. And it broke. I would love to know whether LA sent her a bill for busting their digital signage, yeah. No, it was very. That's like a dangerous kick to us. All right, we can leave a case kicking to the side. Hopefully she doesn't do that anymore. But Richard, I'm sorry, who's your fourth guard there? I think I didn't catch it. The last four were sloop Atkins, Lloyd and Lloyd. Are you okay? Yeah, dual Lloyd, we'll talk about it. I do want to hear Kevin's next three reserve guards or however many you want to mention here. As I already mentioned, I had Atkins Howard young in this group. So I mean, that probably the fact that Richard is in considering Jackie is a guard is a factor in this. But I had Juul a notch below this, not dramatically below this, but I she has not played as well. I think this season is she certainly she did last year when she was all WNBA first team. Yeah, her fish has gone down a little bit. So I'm with that. I really like jewelry but I have her in that same group that you do, Kevin. But Ryan Howard's interesting. Because throughout this podcast, you've mentioned the previous performance and how that has affected your vote. Obviously, we don't have the previous performance Orion here, because she's a rookie. Why is she going on your list? Yeah, I'm sort of more willing to buy it because there's not a track record for playing kind of at a sub all star level. She was the number one pick projected really well statistically, not quite this well statistically. Like I didn't expect this from day one, but you know, she's been in the top ten in war pretty much all season. So you could even make a case for her as a starter, probably. This is another one where it depends on which statue you're looking at because on off stats hate. Ryan Howard and they get like 20 points worse when she's off when she's on the court. Really? Yeah. Yeah. Net rating difference is -21.1. That is wild. That's crazy, dude. 'cause a small difference I could understand just because of whatever, whatever. That's an insane stat. Scoring has been so impressive just one. I mean, as a team, Atlanta are good defensively and bad offensively. So you can therefore either make the case that they could be dreadful offensively where the hell was playing or not, or you could say that even to be this bad they've needed a basically. She is their offense. After you get hit Cheyenne Parker, I don't know if she'll get mentioned later in this pie, but after her and Howard, it drops off pretty quickly their shot creation. Yeah, and well, the thing is though, I mean, I think it also comes down to how much of this turnaround turnaround for Atlanta you buy and how much you attribute it to Howard because they're about to their next win will match their win total from 2019 and surpass their 2020 surpassed their 2021, obviously 2020 is a weird year. But they're about to basically hit their win total from the last three years in game 15 of the season. 16 of the season. I think that's huge. I think that would be kind of my reason here was like, well, this team is so much better and she's there now and she's a big part of it. So I wanted to give her the nod because of that. So are you saying you don't really buy that turnaround? Richard and or you don't really attribute it to Howard. I mean, they've also lost their last four in a row and a gun backwards. I think she's been very impressive. But yeah, I don't particularly buy the turnaround for the team in that I do think they're going to probably end up.

"8 of 9 games at some point in the season. And they didn't and, you know, I will say there were some quality wins towards the end of the season. They decimated Arkansas and Arkansas as a team that is very good. Their magic planet, but they're getting that large easily. And they're very good team. But Kentucky didn't have a particularly tough like their end of the SEC regular season wasn't exactly like a huge turnaround. There wasn't a major team, they just shot the crap out of the ball in the tournament. That's what you need to do. Honestly. That is like the most important thing when you're looking at a team that's getting hot and marsh like at the ball is falling. And I say kind of section that they have a week off now. But they tend shrieking with the SEC championship. I mean, yeah, so we can I think we can lock in Ryan Howard for the number one seat. Obviously the entire mystics coaching staff is there. Allegedly. We have critical support to Kentucky. The comrade, wildcats, who have now gotten more games to appreciate Ryan Howard and cosmology to throw a severe temperature. Yes, which was amazing. Just great stuff, Kentucky from all of it. Yeah, the mall tucked the tormund start tomorrow. Damn big 12, making us wait. Actually, what is making me crazy? Huh? It is. It's gonna be crazy. But what is holding us up? Why exactly is there a week? Between your options are you can have the four tournaments that we've been going over this week, which is driven awesome, crazy, trying to watch all the great games, including these ones. While covering the one that we are obsessively being paid to cover, we can do that and then we can have stuff in the background like the a ten, which shouldn't be in the background. They'd be great with you. Like the eitan, like the West Coast conference, which is going to send somebody to like a 5 seed this year. Yeah, big south championship tonight. "Your point. It's not wincing at what you were saying. No, you're fine. But there are teams like Virginia tech. There are teams like NC state. There are teams that's kind of hard in the ACC to think about the ones because this is really not true. This is a copy that isn't stone et cetera, but of those two. There are teams that you just mentioned there are teams that they can if there's a mismatch there, they can just start posting up their center. They can clear out one side given that the site will let you go to work in ISO. There are ways that some players, if they have a good matchup, can ramp up their usage and making things happen. The problem with you and say, is that the tallest player on that roster, who can do that, who can who can be a focal point at just in theory can be a fuckable one. That's a less of us. All ACC player, she's great, excellent, can do so much stuff. The problem is she hasn't played center. She's 6. They have a 6 two center, which as you guys should know, is not a setup. Oh my God, an ambulance. Kentucky by two more seconds. Wow. That was awesome. Oh, South Carolina's up to South Carolina. They're not going to get a pass to that point. No, no. Shot. Kentucky wins. Kentucky wins the 7 seed Kentucky. Kentucky gets a headquarters for the past 5 weeks. Sorry, fast 5 days. The past week, Kentucky has taken a poor shooting team, shot the ever living crap out of the ball all the way to an SEC championship. So I guess sign Howard my goodness. I guess that's our lesson to not count out Kentucky. I don't know. I don't think the last is not going to cut you. I think the lessons did not kind of a team that can run through Ryan Howard. Sure. Yeah, I just Kentucky is a team that I'm going to be top 25 voter and it's been a while since I've had Kentucky in my ballot. I literally have not seen them. I just didn't really see it all year. But when you have Ryan Howard, you can do things like that. You can beat South Carolina in the SEC championship. But that's awesome. Wow. That is awesome for Kentucky. Congratulations to them. Kentucky for reference. I don't want to say probably was out of the SD tournament if they didn't win a game. Yeah. Yeah. Which I probably was like at the end of the lazy they didn't win a game. They now have the AQ. No, and that is an amazing for them. I mean, we saw in the middle of the season, right? It seemed like this team was dead. They lost what 8 of 9 games at some point in the season. And they didn't and, you know, I will say there were some quality wins towards the end of the season. "So it's a way for you to be able to freely support the coverage of women's basketball. So we do appreciate all of the Twitch love that we have over there. Let's get into this. Let's hop in and actually start talking about this draft. I'm actually going to tie each of these picks not only to the number of pick, but to the actual team. And I went a little more in depth this time as far as looking at team needs or team personalities. Or where I think that teams might be maybe they're history of players that have been successful for them as a franchise, could influence if I had a couple of two or three players that were really close. That I was looking at in a specific pick for a specific team. I went really in depth into each of the team rosters and kind of where they're at and tried to make some determinations there. But let's go ahead and get started with our number one pick that is going to go with the Washington mystics and if you would have asked me a week or two ago to have this episode, I would have switched my number one picks. But the last couple of weeks have been good to the Kentucky wildcats and to Ryan Howard in particular. Starting to turn things around here. So I think Washington is going to go with Ryan Howard for the number one overall pick. For the last two weeks, I moved nalyssa Smith up from number two up to number one. Simply because Kentucky was looking like they were struggling. Howard seemed to be still putting up some pretty good numbers, but just wasn't being it wasn't able to take over games in ways that she could and should. She had a really strong showing against South Carolina, which ended up in a 9 point loss for Kentucky. But since then, they've rattled off 5 straight W's and are looking like they are going to make the NCAA tournament, which it was looking pretty shaky there for a few weeks, but it looks like they are going to be making the tournament as long as the wheels don't totally fall off. These last few games of the season. So Ryan Howard, here's the reason why she is still my number one overall pick. And that is simply because she is a big guard that she has some really great size for a guard. That's been a really helpful element for a lot of successful guards in the WNBA. Not only that, but she is so comfortable with the ball in her hands. When she's dribbling, shooting, passing, everything she does, it just looks easy. It looks natural. And so I think that, you know, getting into a WNBA franchise working alongside with teammates that are going to be significantly better than her Kentucky teammates, I think that she's going to be really, really able to flourish as a point guard. She's got a fantastic basketball IQ. She has a nose for the ball on defense. She honestly, she's a faster version of Chelsea gray and has a better shot. That's kind of where I see that. So she's really solid there. So I've got Ryan Howard as my number one overall pick again that could easily change. It's still a razor thin margin between Howard and Melissa Smith and B but also, again, taking into consideration team need. I do think that the Washington mystics that Howard fits their roster and fits their team needs very well there. I think that being able to have Howard as kind of an incoming young generation of a guard in that in that roster is going to be a really solid move for them. They've already got quite a few big bodies and so that's why I leaned with Howard going number one as opposed to Alyssa Smith. So I bet you can't guess who is going number two overall to Indiana, Kenya. Number two, overall pick going to the Indiana fever is Melissa Smith. Melissa Smith has done absolutely everything this season to secure her as a lock for the number one number two spot. And she's currently averaging 21.2 points per game, 11, just over 11 rebounds per game as well. And she isn't like a prolific block blocker, you know, she doesn't she doesn't block a ton of shots, but she does play some really solid defense in his in positions to cause the other team, not that she gets a hand on the ball, but the way that she positions herself defensively can affect a lot of the other teams shooting and that's also why she's in place for so many defensive rebounds. She had 14 defensive rebounds just the other day against Oklahoma state. So she's a fantastic player, really excited to see what Alyssa can do in the WNBA. She actually, the way that she moves, I feel that she has a similar vibe, she's kind of like an Asia Wilson light right now. She has a she can move into space on offense. She has a real, just natural, she naturally finds herself where her teammates can get her the ball. And that helps her. She's one of the best, she's one of the most efficient scorers in all of basketball right now. She's shooting 55% from the field. And her free throw shootings looking better and better as the season progresses. She's now up to 70 7% from the line. Started out a little shakier than that. Previously, but looking really strong right now. Melissa Smith, here's the thing. Whether Smith goes to Washington or Indiana. She's going to be a mainstay in this league for a long time. I think there was a lot of question marks about the last couple top prospects going into the league last year. I don't have any question marks around Alyssa Smith. I think she's going to come in and probably be an immediate contributor to whoever decides to take her, whether that's Washington or Indiana. I don't see a circumstance where we see like we had last year with Charlie Collier and owa queer in Dallas where they both got drafted number one number two and then really didn't sniff the floor. So I don't see that being the case for either Howard or Smith here, I think that they're going to be immediate contributors and I'm excited to see what they do. There is a little bit of a gap. I feel like Smith and Howard, number one, number two, I think that's a lock at this point. I mean, even, I mean, even a major injury to either of these players, I still think they go number one number two overall. And which makes the next few picks really interesting. I've gone back and forth and there's been a lot of moving up and down for my picks like three through 12. All right. I constantly am tweaking these picks a lot more than I am my number one number two. However, my number three pick is actually someone who I've had up at number three for the majority of this season. I really, really like what I see from this player. And that is 6 foot 5 center out of old miss Shakira Austin. Shakira Austin has a WNBA ready body. She's able to not just her height, but the strength that she has, she moves really well. I like a lot from what we see from Shakira Austin. If she wants to study some film, if I were her, I would do everything I could to become Sylvia falls two..

Coming up end of March beginning of April. So if you're planning on being there, we're excited to see you then. And yeah, so we'll have plenty of episodes coming out here we're heading right into some pretty heavy holiday season. But I want to make sure we got this episode out and give you something to think about for these teams as the WNBA draft lottery gets revealed. If you've got a team in that that's going to be picking their towards the top, maybe these are some names that you as a fan want to start to familiarize yourself with because they may or may not be ending up on your team. So I just also want to give a quick shout out to everyone who's following us on Twitch and who is a subscriber on Twitch as well. We try to stream these episodes live. It's probably the best way to get in contact with us and to interact with us. And that is at WNBA nation pod. You can find us on Twitter there. Let's hop into this. Let's hop in and really break down where I see these first few picks going if I were to limit this strictly to NCAA players. Obviously, there's a lot of overseas influence that comes obviously we saw last season. The second overall pick went to awa queer who went queer was picked second overall, overseas player young overseas player, a lot of people were disappointed not to see more of her, but she's young. She's by far the youngest player in the WNBA, and is going to take a little while to kind of grow and develop. But yeah, so obviously there's going to be some overseas players. I am strictly looking at this from an NCAA perspective. So only the best players currently in the college game that would be eligible for the WNBA draft. Currently, all of my top 5 are seniors because juniors technically can declare for the draft if they meet the specific requirements to get in, but I'm not going to get into that currently. It's still a little bit early to try to play around and figure out who maybe declaring early and whatnot. So I'm sticking with seniors. So let's start with what I think a lot of people assume is the obvious pick here. My number one on my list currently is Ryan Howard. Out of Kentucky. But I will say this before I before I break down Howard's game here, I will say the gap between Howard and the rest of the field, I feel has closed. And I don't think that it's she is the overall consensus number one and I think potentially we could see at least one other player in that number one overall spot. That being said, I personally right now, if I had the number one traffic, I would take Ryan Howard out of Kentucky. She's a 6 foot two guard who has been absolutely lights out since she stepped onto the Kentucky basketball court. When national freshman of the year, unanimously. In the 2018 2019 season and has done a lot in her career at Kentucky. A lot of people will look at hey her sophomore year, she averaged 23 points. Junior year, she dropped that down to 20 points. And maybe look at it that way. I'll just say that I think overall she's becoming a more well rounded player. She's one of the more well rounded players that we've seen come out of a draft. Can do a lot on the court. She leads her team in points, rebounds, assists, and she's right up there. I think she's second in steals last season on her team. So she's she does a fantastic job of taking care of the ball on offense, scoring, plays great defense. Ryan Howard really is, she's the real deal. I've got some notes here, just based on film that I've watched on Ryan Howard. Here's kind of what I think makes her a great potential number one overall draft pick. Her dribbling and shooting just looks so easy. She never looks like there is a ton of effort in the drilling and shooting everything that she does, whether it's a step back or a crossover, a jump shot, a drive to the hoop, a three pointer, everything she does is smooth and easy. It looks effortless for her. And I really, really like what I see from that. She has fantastic size for a Garcia's listed at 6 foot two. And is able to really do a lot with that size. Her shot is absolutely just insanely quick. She has a very, very quick release. Her step back, her step back into a jumper is absolutely lethal. She makes great work of that. She also has a fantastic floor vision. A lot of times when you have a high scoring guard, they tend to look to score first where Howard actually has fantastic floor vision. If she hasn't open teammate as she's making a move for a shot and the teammate comes open because a double team is headed her way, she can easily dump a pass off to a teammate her floor vision is really, really solid. If I would call out any weakness that I think Howard has, I think her overall footwork, her quickness and speed isn't quite there. She kind of makes up for it with her size and just the ball control that she has with dribbling. But I think that if she can get into a program that is going to help her increase that footwork and the overall speed, I think that's where we could see some potential improvement there from Howard. Before we move away, let me redo her current stats just so everybody knows this is midday December 15th, so obviously this is just the season up to this point. She's currently averaging 18.3 points per game on 40 well 46% shooting. She's shooting 35% from the three point line and 75% from the free throw line. She's also averaging just shy of 7 rebounds per game. And has a two to two to one assist to turnover ratio, which is exactly what the kind of stat that you want to see from someone who's going to be handling the ball for your team. So I think overall she's a well rounded player..

And if you if you're a developer writing acing code all day than than enjoy bordering and to test as well that. Maybe it's a sort of familiarity thing that gets kind of consistent across the two typically. I wouldn't unless you have a use case. I don't see any specific. There's a headless option. I don't know if it's default to don or not It is yeah. Berkeley s defaulted headless policy. And if you want. If you see what's going on you have to pass in a headful when you launching the browser easy nothing but Again we kind of see that shift in the market the especially with ui tests which which traditionally been a bit slower than maybe kind of unit tests and api tests. So we've seen a shift to kind of make those faster one of the way you can do that. So we'll see run run head with lee which which worked perfectly well especially if you're running kind of cic you're not going to be looking at the screen anyway say you may as well run them handling imagine. It's probably the only time you did not want to do. Headless as maybe when you're developing something and it's not working You can kinda watch it. Right side short corner near the baseline comes to Wyatt. Why it wants to hand it off. They find massive yell shot clock down to five Kentucky all sorts of discombobulated. Here's Massengill, forcing up a shot that draws iron. No good. McKinney had the rebound knocked away and it's gonna go out of bounds last touched by Kiki and the Kentucky bench. But South Carolina has just reeled off five points in the blink of high and Aaliya, Boston three and then a destiny. Henderson, runner. Anderson has been hard to handle for Kentucky and transition tonight. Nobody has been able to stop her in the open court as she has 14 points off that lightning quick speed Boston with 12 Me here with eight and Sexton with seven. Kentucky has 26 from Ryan Howard Triana. Edwards With 12 points tonight, Robin Bitten with five And nobody else has more than four. Kentucky's got to have some help for Ryan and Edwards tonight, and Patterson has four points, but she also has four assists, but they need to get Patterson going again. Offensively. She has struggled in SEC play thus far. She entered SEC play, averaging 15 points a game. But Facing teams like Arkansas A and M and Mississippi state. They have kind of held her offense and check Patterson had four points in the win over Arkansas. She did have 11 against Mississippi State in that overtime win in eight points against A and M But not storing a clip that we saw her. Heading into conference place. She only got four points tonight. But again she creates with defense and she has two steals. She also has a blocked shot in this game. Kentucky has played well defensively, but South Carolina is making up for it in transition. Kentucky has a 19 to 9 edge in points off turnovers, but South Carolina has started to really Take control of the rebounds. They have cleaned the glass 31 times to Kentucky's 20. Now they have 14 offensive rebounds, closing in on their average. They have a 17 to 6 advantage in second chance points. So what they've given up in turnovers. You're beginning to make up for now in second chance opportunities. Kentucky out of the time out as Ryan Howard, Olivia Owens, Robin Bitten J. Jasmine Massengill, Andre Ana Edwards in the game. Kentucky shot 50% from beyond the arc this afternoon. They were 14 of 28. And that kind of neutralized Mississippi state's advantage. The Bulldogs for the game shot 49% from the floor, but in the second half they were well over 70% and it for most of the second half was shooting above 80% because they were using that dribble drive offense. To get basically lay ups and five footers. And when you're shooting those man, your your stats, we're going to go through the roof in terms of your shooting percentage. Held state to nine for the entire game. Second Chance points 13 to 10 in favor of the Bulldogs. That's a phenomenal effort, toe out rebound such a sizable Mississippi state team, and that also shows besides that Kentucky has with the play from Olivia Owens and Trey on Edwards. A foul called on the way up goes in from the left block. Ryan Howard has come to life here in the fourth quarter, she's got 15 and the chance for another. Then I should correct myself on that dead ball. After Howard's last shot, they did not give her a foul. I think it was a delay of game warning. I'm not sure because, unfortunately, we're not there, but they have not charged her with the third foul. So Howard's going to go to the line for an and one to try to cut this state lead the 15 59 to go in the game. Howard's free throw is good. 69 68 Howard now with 16 Delete Kentucky. Now they come to moth Roo against bitten meth Are you on the left side Drives right gets bitten into the low post. Turn around. Little baby Hook is good from out front state is just so good at penetrating into that lane, and these five footers are way too easy for a team like Mississippi State.
