"Texans or eight and a half point favorites. Bengals totals forty five and a half mitch. Yeah that's what i i don't even i don't know where to begin with this my My texans have fallen. So far. I would just i mean the bengals. You've got to think this is a letdown game for them last week. Monday night at home. Division rival you can tell from the first three plays how pumped up. they were they just. They can't have that again a second week in a row that was just because it was the steelers and a home game in front of everybody now a short week traveling to houston but who knows i mean the texans have have disappointed me plenty of times before and they will disappoint me again So i i will stay miles and miles away from this one. I jump on the texans. If it was less than a touchdown here. i'll stay away one thing. I just wanted to one the fact that you know. They're going to have to defend a team. That has a quarterback who is he's going to Offer more possibilities and ben rothlisberger in these these quick but This bengals offense. I mean look four point one yards per play last weekend's steelers all the key plays with these ryan finley keepers off of Of read option which no one prepares where. Because no one thinks ryan finley is gonna is gonna keep it so that is kind of out of the bag. I don't know what else they can do. Offensively i i think there's no more surprises with bengals. They don't score points anymore. Next game chargers..

"Batters intercepted picked off in Homs. Stepping is Mackenzie Alexander for Cincinnati and flags fly. We will be forced from the devil Run automatic, first down. I mean, like, I know as you get older. You lose the ability to do certain things just got blind. Like, what was he looking at? What do you see on that play? I'm not sure what was worse for Steeler fans. The fact that Mackenzie Alexander barely moved that pick or that he high stepped on the way out of balance. But first of all, or worst of all, it's just defense's do not fear Ben anymore. I'm not afraid of him. You cannot consistently win in the NFL. If your quarterback does not scare in opposing defense, and right now, the only people that Ben is scaring our Steeler fans. It got so bad last night, there was Mason route off discussion on the timeline. That's not good. And then this quote from Tomlin is not going to make Stewart fans feel any better about Ben's performance. It's not interrelated just wasn't good enough. Like like all of us, me included. You know, we got to be better. No, it's not injury related. Is it age related? Like, what is it by the way? It's not like that defense was awesome, either. That crew had been terrifying earlier in the season. Now they're banged up and they're giving up points to the Bangles. And you figure you have that'll happen. Like Joe Paro. Joe Burrow is special. It's got a bright future. He's gonna jump up. He's gonna bite you now, even as a rookie Except it wasn't job, Earl. He's been out for weeks. And his backup is out, too. So we're talking about Ryan Finley, and it's not just that they were missing Burrow. They were also missing the top running back receiver and defensive player. And yet Ryan Finley Ryan Freaking. Finley was carving them, making them look bad. Ryan Finley was out there looking like Michael Vick. Is he for the entire stealer? D on this play from the Pittsburgh 23.

Bangles take advantage of three turnovers In a win over the slumping Steelers. The Steelers wasted a chance to clinch the F C north title by falling to the struggling Bengals. 27 17. Giovanni Bernard scored two touchdowns while Cincinnati was building a 17 Nothing halftime lead. Quarterback Ryan Finley completed just seven passes for 89 yards. But his 23 yard TD run early in the fourth quarter all but sealed it as the Bangles handed the Steelers their third straight loss since in 11 or no start, you get three takeaways on defense. You know the the offense owes it to you, the one that football game so You know, just happy we could do enoughto get that defense the win because they shared a second dessert. Ben Roethlisberger completed 20 of his 38 passes for 170 yards for the touchdown and an interception. I'm Dave Ferry.

"Here's my problem with it. The Ryan Finley, who they drafted, he's terrible. And then Brandon Allen, who's on your practice squad. I mean, that's where you are with your backups. I mean, and you're dropping a dude back between 45 60 times a game. What the hell do you expect? Exactly? And look in the off season. We asked about this backup quarterback situation on, Wouldn't it make sense to have you know a better in than the market wasn't great for good, better and quarterback, But there were some there. And it just makes more sense to do that. I didn't get that at all. I didn't agree with that. And I thought, But look if Joe borrowing the Bangles at 12 or three more games say, you know, they had four games they could have won that they lost her tied. They went three of those. You're in the playoff hunt. You're looking at a wild card. Is it fair to that team? The borough goes out and then you don't have a ghost of a chance to win from here on out because you didn't get a backup quarterback. Yeah, That's a shame. It's a show on every level. Well, there is one more little question that goes back to something we were talking about earlier. George and George Vogel Wlwt sports director, um back in the day, would you have been Camp Tonya Harding or Campen, Nancy Carrigan. Well, I have, uh, from the Moreira will factor. Well, I'll tell you what you know. I neither one. How about that? Come on. I know better than that. That's a that's horrible. That's a cop out. Nancy may have wind a little much. Come on, man. You're number one. Come on. You're from Georgetown. Man. You you should be all over time. You hear from Georgetown? I know. I know. Look, there is stuff about Tonya Harding's You know what theater You know, you will do just that. I let's just leave it there. You better get back to the newsroom, Fred. But they for me is that when it was over liquor city encore talking to Joel and Dr Bourbon and you know they're taking your application there, Finn. So all right, get up over there. I need to get in that club. Let me ask you next time you're over toe. Next time you're at liquor City asked them, Nancy. You're Tanya. See what they said? Kill me on the well, Thanks. Hear about this? Who I'll tell you what I'm guessing Tanya liquored it up a little more than me. And if she's got a bigger jockstrap than I do, then there's no chance. Alright, Bye, Fred. Enjoy the news tonight again. Gotta see a man George Mobile. There. He goes back to the newsroom. You gotta like that. Rest assured he's getting liquor city for later, but not before he does. The upcoming sports All right, and another thing about sports, but people are still driving around. It's time for a final check on Trent. I think a final check on trial. "Listen to a podcast form to Dave Lapham last night Bengals line with a host of guest I have my college football playoff rankings in advance of the reveal tonight and some red conversation all on the blog seven hundred WLW dot com also wrote about this and this will be our topic eight tonight I can't wait because on Monday nights we never get a chance to to to react to scholastic calls about the Bengals because we're doing bangles line but tonight it provides that first opportunity and I'm excited because we certainly have something rather significant to to talk about it as I wrote on the blog today Zack Taylor had to turn to Ryan Finley three weeks ago he had to Monday he had to turn back to edit all on the move was a clean it wasn't pretty it it did produce a win but it had to be done both times it was clearly time to roll with Ryan Finley during the bye week the bangles were eight eight at the time they were going nowhere fast don't have been battered and bruised and sacked eight times in a game in to go out with a porous offense of line he was even when given a clean pocket he was missing at an alarming rate on those type of throws in any I I repeat under like any spiraling team in a season like this having drafted a rookie quarterback in facing the prospects of a topic in the upcoming quarterback heavy draft should and would have done the exact same thing did not look at Ryan Finley would have been organizational malpractice now there's plenty of times we did use the bagels of organizational brown malpractice bloody times it's certainly been deserve not in this case is that Taylor noted that the time everywhere on the roster had played to that point in the season door when they hadn't tried it was Ryan Finley so they tried it was ugly in three games he showed a lack of pocket presence ball security and I I think surprisingly arm strength meet he completed forty seven percent of his passes playing in a league where you have to hit closer to realistically you have to get closer to sixty seven percent to survive in the league and he turned it over five times three by fumble which equal the total number that AMD had turned it over through fumble in the first eight games now wow that experiment was unfolding the bangles stumbled indoor running game change the blocking schemes they watch the defense start forcing turnovers but the killer wise Ryan families performance wasn't giving the offense a shot to take advantage of what the bangles defense was offering them back to back weeks allowing seventeen points in sixteen point you best be waiting in the NFL of you in this day and age you give up seventeen points in sixteen points and trust me the players knew what was up they sought they were not asking about it they were declaring it the murmurs were getting louder in Paul Brown stadium they win the last two games with number fourteen a quarterback meeting they beat the raiders they beat the Steelers if Andy is the QB and so Zack Taylor reached the biggest credibility and culture check of these young coaching tenure and I don't know maybe this is the last what he's gonna reach in what may be turned out to be a short coaching tenure I don't know but I do know this he could no longer put learning about one player over the good of the other fifty two players he knew it was impossible to look at his team from the middle of that locker room and preach culture and preach accountability while continuing to play Ryan Finley Hussein and certainly not after he had bitten his lower but offered a a lifeline to Cordy gland with that move show the performance of John Jerry against Oakland was unacceptable and certainly not after the Bengals had released Preston brown to a lack of performance Ryan Phillippe performance simply wasn't.

"Dot com backslash offshore today all right Dan would stand by Dan good morning Sir how are you hello Mike I'm great how are you fine thank you I'm kind of hoping the Ryan Finley change becomes a riot Ryan Finley experiment and I I think yesterday Zack Taylor suggested that that maybe it's one more game he did say that he's he is the man this coming Sunday against Pittsburgh but he didn't really commit beyond that did you get that notion I didn't tell you the truth I'm not sure if he intended to send that message by saying he's our starter this week I will say though that it's hard to dispute that Andy Dalton in the short term would give the bangles better chance to win yep why and family were to have another rough game I mean the bangles at seventy three net passing yards on Sunday that's ridiculously low in the current NFL if you if you were to have another really rough game it certainly wouldn't shock me if they went back to Dalton well the seventy three yards wasn't for lack of trying through twice as often as they ran and I thought the whole idea was to try to truly establish a running game if you're in a game here where you're you're not playing a lot of catch up here in the game the whole time and it did make a lot of running game was working yes yeah they had more than a hundred and seventy rushing yards after having more than a hundred and fifty last week so clearly they figured out what works for this offense of line with Joe mix and and that's good had they had this running game in the first eight games of the season and he thought would have let them to at least a few wins I don't know if they would be anywhere close to five hundred but they certainly wouldn't be the only when listing of the NFL we'll see what happens with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and you and I will talk about it next Tuesday yes we will then you're the man thank you Sir thanks Leslie is okay when it hi I'm Laurie read.

"Dot com backslash offshore today Tony pike is with me today filling in for rocky point and let's go back to Sunday Ryan Finley made his NFL debut it did not go well the battle suffered a thirty six point loss he was outshined if you will by the mark Jackson but in a vacuum assess how Ryan Finley did in his first NFL game I think for Ryan Phillippe he played like you would expect a then I fell back up level style quarterback to play that's not a knock on Ryan family but the knock on him coming out of the draft was on strike was a problem and when you see the NFL you see the elite quarterbacks they have the ability to sometimes throw the ball laid over the middle or sometimes Mister reed and make up with that with excellent arm strength right so we can't do that you saw a pick six because of it so a quarterback staring down a lot of receivers which means a little bit unsure of what was being thrown out of and that's that's to be said could you play the ravens to make a living off of young quarterbacks in it confusing them so that the jury is still out but to me look like a quarterback that could be a solid backup for team in the NFL it seems to me like the game plan going in was we're gonna run the ball which makes sense you got a guy making his first NFL start the Bengals didn't run the ball okay the previous game against LA what was interesting is it really didn't seem like the game plan changed based on the game circumstances because they lose by thirty six points they still ran it forty times and through a third it almost became a a mercy rule affect of running the ball so you get to a point in these okay if we just run the ball we can keep their offense off the field because for Ryan Philly were were asking to evaluate him based off of a bad defense about office of line of bad running game until AJ green it's not a fair evaluation as it is so try to help him in any way humanly possible Thangals take on the Oakland Raiders on Sunday Cincinnati looking to avoid a tenth straight loss to start the season kick off at four twenty five you'll hear live on seven hundred W. L. W. with Tony pike filling in for rocky bloomin just got easier and less expensive on core technologies.
Jackson dazzles as Ravens rout winless Bengals 49-13
"Ravens cornerback Lamar Jackson lit up the scoreboard throwing for three touchdowns and rushing for another and leading Baltimore pass Cincinnati forty nine thirteen Jackson was dominant with two hundred twenty three yards of passing in sixty five yards rushing while only playing three quarters he says he's just trying to play better and better record in the day and I want to prove that he's never do I go out there and pride is so much you like it's a game if I can be a past pride is on take off in in the game I'm trying to pinpoint everything it was an unsuccessful debut for bangles rookie quarterback Ryan Finley as he threw for one hundred fifty nine yards and one score in the game Donald Chuck Cincinnati

"All right so with barely we may have lost bread powers so we'll get him back on the line in just a sec let me update now Wake Forest has the football or I guess it kicked off some trying to see where you tie state as it is they have gone down let me see how much time lost that game is gone final Oklahoma state has gotten in the end zone they take a seventeen ten lead down to twenty three seconds Utah state and Wake Forest Hill thirty eight thirty five demon deacons Colorado state is just scored and the lead now fourteen to ten over Colorado in a game that they're catching double digits Brad power sorry we lost you but hopefully you are you able to hear a little bit of what I was saying about Ohio state and Florida Atlantic and hoping to to get Brad on the line in just a sec joins trying to put him back up but we lost in which is I wouldn't think we lose one a land line but we did so trying to pay attention here to the games that are going on and we will keep an eye right now thirty eight thirty five Wake Forest leading Utah state and just watching the scores right now why Sean tries to get Brad back on okay so now we got Brad Brad will on the cell somehow we lost you on the land line don't know how that happened we're supposed to have the land line is supposed to be the better connection somehow some way we end up losing your book got your back Ohio state Florida Atlantic twenty seven and a half too many points for the Buckeyes are contagious take it to lanes team on in the trenches yeah I I I I'm going with the Buckeyes here I mean I I think Ryan is going to want to have a good first impression as the head coach and I mean I think you're gonna leave Justin fields in there a little bit longer just give young quarterbacks lecture experience I think what they can do better on the defense side and Katie I I jumped in a foreign land against the blue blood program in week one last year and what was the forty Omar I I'll tell you why I'm a I'm a take the Buckeyes channeling its forty two not that time this year but I certainly went on all right can argue with you there Florida Atlantic we'll have to see what they have the kid they transfer Emmons the running back he only played five games there for a lot Alabama couple years ago is this kid have potential to be somebody to take some pressure off road was in and and the receiving corps because the receiving corps looks like he could be okay I specially when they get to you know conference USA play I I just wasn't sure where you thought Florida Atlantic may fit in as far as in their conference because we saw Ford international just get pummeled by too late last night yeah I'm in stock is I mean it's Peter family lane Kiffin on the first year but as good as it gets eleven and three and I mean it was one of the better group of five teams in the entire country in the last year even though they were relatively experience expressed in the defense lawyer turned out really good player Devon single Terry running back and then we make a bowl game even though there's either one told again after nine last year there what we'll see like if it is one of those Jekyll and Hyde type of guys annual one game that they looked like world beaters attacks and again outline of that as a three touchdown favorite data there certainly capable of making things interesting and that they got more talent than a typical convert yet they team but die just after I had a pretty significant that last year that opener and now I have my doubts on whether and let lanes gonna be able to make it on our night uses the crushing ending Wake Forest can win the game thirty eight thirty five and kind of tough because you touched it gets to the forty six yard line a personal foul on Wake Forest puts it at the Wake Forest thirty one yard line so they're in field goal range but then love throws an interception and wait for a's gonna win it by three lane three and a half up to five closing at five come up of short on that one the tough game within the game final as Wake Forest wins it thirty eight thirty five Ken Thompson broad powers on a Friday football fiasco as we roll on through that was Ohio state Florida Atlantic that will be an early game tomorrow as we will see that will kick off at high noon in Columbus and again outline Ohio state twenty seven and a half total of sixty four south Alabama they'll take to the road against Nebraska and it could be a long day for the Jaguars because there's a lot expected from Scott frost in in his second year he's not going to take his foot off the gas I don't think for too many teams he's going to try and get this team you know rolling and getting some confidence a good team to take it out on would be south Alabama Sievers Johnson looks like he'll be the quarterback there no mentor not a bad running back at over eight hundred yards rushing the ball last year another two hundred receiving six touchdowns on the ground and then Kwan Baker is a pretty good receiver and he's also got it'll come around and take that football on and around at two hundred fifty one yards and nine touchdowns on the ground and thirty three our receptions for four ninety four and four touchdowns four five starters back on the old line for south Alabama linebacker sophomore Nick moblie the leader there as far as on the defense seven of the top eleven tacklers back this is a team that our minds for the turnover department minus five in the sack department way Steve Campbell's team's gonna have to get after Adrian Martinez causes kids the real deal he did have eight interceptions last year three seventeen touchdowns rushed for six twenty nine eight more better informed have yards per carry a game time decision I believe one Maurice Washington he's there leading running back candidate but he got in some trouble sending pictures of a former girlfriend to a friend or what not and she was under age when these pictures were there so this happened in California so they were waiting on a ruling to see if he will be able to go tomorrow hi Jack stole the tight end pretty solid Spielman an outstanding receiver for frost in Warner will get a lot of the action there on defense a line back remember the name Muhammad Barry hundred twelve tackles this guy's the real deal and then you've got Jackson brutal to pretty good corners as well defensive and still had five sacks and a and a couple other defensive players in Carla's Davison Khalil Davis will add to that Nebraska defense your take south Alabama Nebraska this line sitting at thirty six total of sixty six from Lincoln yeah the path for me it Katie I mean the the line down the way if you want to buy the crap got a little pricey I mean a lot of money on the routes of around the course of the summer very popular team this year I think you're being very very improve but I mean in the time to buy that around the stock was was two three months ago how the hell at stock is pretty pricey and it's in a raft Katina and then that certainly does start out or Billy last year about book but it's significantly improved at the end of last season I mean they cover find their last six games and the only non cover was a big favor role against between coke man you mentioned that Adrian Martinez one of the better quarterback young quarterbacks out there in the entire country but but I mean this is the largest favorite role for Nebraska over not Beyonce opponent in about a decade I'm just now noon kick off that kinda number if anything I think it's gotten price enough or or not actually south Alabama south Alabama plus thirty six align up four points from the opening number of thirty two meanwhile Oklahoma state scores a touchdown but it's taken back because of a penalty seven forty nine to go in Corvallis the pokes up seventeen ten one Oregon state keeping an eye on that game Stevens is the quarterback there in his first year with Oklahoma state for Mike Gundy squad and Colorado gets a touchdown as well they go back in front of Colorado state in a see saw game seventeen to fourteen and we're keeping an eye on that game and all the games right here on a Friday football fiasco Ken Thompson broad powers NC state at home no Ryan Finley to with the ball around the take on east Carolina Mike Houston in his first year coming over from James Madison last year in their final two games he's Carolina outscored one fourteen the nine not good including the finale losing by fifty five big ones to NC state east Carolina the goal withhold mailers as quarterback no he had a pretty good touchdown to interception ratio in his limited action last year twelve to three they also have read herring coming back he's not so good six touchdowns ten picks running game Darius panics looks like he'll be the leader in the stable backfield there we trace Christian in the scene howl and then some decent receivers in the Andriy Ferrier and sophomore Blake poll we remember that name Ricky Proehl of course many years in the NFL they're kicker vanity very solid last year nineteen of twenty one field goals including six of eight from between forty and fifty five yards as far as on the defensive side of the ball free see you pretty good strong safety divide ray Robinson also rams are a bit ints two solid linebackers NC state they're gonna go with Matthew McKay as far as what I saw Richard sophomore he'll lead the way Ricky person junior in Devon Leary these guys around as well and then you've got receiving corps messy and Riley they did lose all Harmon a very solid receiver as far as on the defensive side of the ball more head more macleod they'll be the leaders there for NC state the pack trying to get back to respectability and when you you know pressure the quarterback like NC state did last year Brad thirty five sacks for only gave up eleven I mean you take that ratio all day that means you're protecting Finley who also was a very cerebral quarterback got rid of that ball rather quickly and was able to spread around and read defenses rather quickly and you know it's kind of nice when you can pressure the opposing quarterback and set up some short fields your take NC state at home in Raleigh there minus seventeen against the pirates of east Carolina in Mike Houston's debut yeah my parents are content to stay there all you got to respect all the money come in and the dog and I think a lot of it is I mean Caroline as one no I would say one of the worst coach teams in college football last for years don't believe me I mean and they're on the worst teams against the spread ten twenty five and one push the pennant twenty five against this brand last three years minus forty in turnovers the last three years combined minus forty so maybe a little bit better than their records of indicated are you like Houston did a fabulous job gains mass one national title there was right up there with north coast is one the best jeans last three four years and I mean that in the black these two just plain and all the regular season finale and a lot but the P. five I mean I've certainly upgraded east Carolina and I've certainly downgrade in each day but I can't get it to seventeen point spread here my numbers are closer to twenty even went out a guy like Ryan family and you know a couple of thousand yard receivers and a thousand yard rusher I'm leaning and see if they're minus the seventeen meanwhile Oklahoma state they get that touched down there now back up twenty four to ten three unanswered scores by the pope six forty five to go first half in Corvallis twenty four to ten so the wrong it as she was winning as far as Brian are concerned Oregon state's gonna have to bend down the hatches so for a hundred and sixty four yards rushing for Oklahoma state already again six forty five to go in the first have a hundred fourteen for Spencer Sanders via the airwaves eight of eleven so getting plenty of time and a game again that you start looking in the trenches who's protecting who's blowing out who and we know Oklahoma state normally has pretty good guys on the offense of line they had better depth last year but still right now they're pushing around the beads and it is twenty four to ten loot and the guys are gonna have to rally the troops and trying at least hang in there by you know scoring some points at all got off to a good start but they have been stagnant in their last couple possessions so twenty four to ten Oklahoma state leading Akron at Champaign Illinois a lucky Smith he'll be making those calls on defense now he'll be calling the defense in go need to score some points this is a team that way I just I don't know I mean I don't know if I was a Williams is a I ended up getting a star Brad I know they do have four back on the offense of line seven starters in all region Corbin coming back pretty solid running game there for Illinois bill of course always go up in class when you start playing the likes of you know.

"Brian burns. I like Brian Byrne, you like them are you going to send you like them. You're getting now you're gonna fight the union ship. One said listen to what you said free sentence. Okay. Brian burns if used properly I think can be a good player. I don't know the Carolina's gonna use them properly. I think they're gonna use them just purely as an edge. And I think Anthony Barr is a better example of how to use him. Greg little is soft will Greer? How do you not take Ryan Finley or Jarret stidham thought he was a better quarterback break? That's why I don't like their draft outside of that. I'm Chris Miller. Good value for good. Yeah. There's no one on this on this list. Where I feel like wow. What a great value. You would have amended that to a d. Yeah, d-. I mean, no. You're not going to beat me in anything. I it works car. I say the car so would have been a C because I would have been the worst. You know? We we debate of that. It's fair. Keiper. How are you feeling about Green Bay one day later? I don't understand that the not drafting an offensive player, and I get you stay true to your board. And that's what they did. Jenkins will be a solid center and stern burger can catch the ball. I I don't Williams. I liked this a six round pick the running back out. But but most of the picks were defense. They'd be gone heavy defense over the years early. No offense early no wide receiver to place Randall Cobb gave him a c plus because let's face it savage. I like Jenkins I like, I think some of their late round picks have a chance. So in Rashawn, Gary, we know is a boomer bust, but I gave him a c plus for that reason. Maybe I should have give them a C. But the bottom line is they they were a little bit head scratcher. I would have thought, and I would have bet this in Vegas. If you had odds would one of their two first round picks be an offensive player out of put some significant dollars on thinking one of those two for after getting Amos and press the Smith areas Smith and free agency heavy defense. I would bet not with with Randall Cobb gone. Having a franchise quarterback. Aaron Rodgers at one of those two first round picks is going to be an offensive player, and it was not. So I'd have been looking for a loan from Todd mcshay couple first round picks guys where in one case the team jumped up and got in front, but you feel like oh that hurt in that in that following draft from Cincinnati really really need at linebacker. All we heard was Devon Bush would not get past number eleven or the Bengals drafted. So what happens Pittsburgh, you know, the rivals? You guys had Mike Tomlin on the show yesterday. I mean, they're they're hyped for that guy. And then again, the Denver Broncos drafting twenty as Todd noted they get Noah fan. Green Bay sitting there at twenty one they end up having to. I don't know. I'd call it a reach savage is a good football player. But this I guess, we're all our safety. Maybe they thought it was too rich for Hollywood. I don't know. But that looked like a case where you think oh, no a fan. They're going to get that often some weapon Jimmy grams not getting any younger doesn't happen. You're listening to the first draft podcasts on ESPN radio and the ESPN app Rickman. Everyone calls me ESPN..

You said you like them you're getting now you're gonna feisty getting chippy. I I make one set. Listen to what you said a free sentence. Okay. Brian burns if used properly I think can be a good player. I don't know the Carolina's gonna use them properly. I think they're going to use them just purely as an edge. Right. And I think Anthony Barr is a better example of how to use him. Greg little is soft will Greer? How do you not take Ryan Finley or Jarrett stidham thought he was a better quarterback bright? I that's why I don't like their draft outside of that. I'm Chris Miller. Good value for good. Yeah. There's no one on this on this list. Where I feel like wow. What a great value. I would you would have amended that to a d. Yeah. A D. I mean, no. You're not going to beat me in anything. I it works. On say the car. So it would have been a C because that would have been the worst, you know? You know, we we debate of that. I think that's fair. Keiper. How are you feeling about Green Bay one day later? I don't understand that the not drafting an offensive player, and I get you stay true to your board. And that's what they did. Jenkins will be a solid center and stern burger can catch the ball. I in Dexter Williams. I liked this a sixth round pick the running back out of. No. But but most of the picks were defense. They big on heavy defense over the years early. No offense, early wide receiver to place Randall Cobb gave him a c plus because let's face it savage. I like Jenkins I like, I think some of their late round picks have a chance. So in Rashawn, Gary, we know is a boomer bust, but I gave him a c plus for that reason. Maybe I should have given them a C. But the bottom line is they were a little bit head scratcher. I would have thought, and I would have bet this in Vegas. If you had odds one would one of their two first round picks be an offensive player out of put some significant dollars on that thinking one of those two for after getting Amos and Preston Smith is at areas. Smith in free agency, heavy defence, I would abet not with with Randall Cobb gone. Having a franchise quarterback. Aaron Rodgers at one of those two first round picks is going to be an offensive player, and it was not. So I've been looking for a loan from Todd mcshay couple first round picks guys where where in one case at team jumped up and got in front, but you feel like oh that hurt in that in that following draft room syncing. Natty really really needed a linebacker. All we'd heard was Devon Bush would not get past number eleven where the Bengals draft drafted. So what happens Pittsburgh, you know, the rivals? You guys had Mike Tomlin on the show yesterday. I mean, they're they're hyped for that guy. And then again, the Denver Broncos drafting twenty as Todd noted they get Noah fan. Green Bay sitting there at twenty one. They ended up having to. I don't know if I'd call it a reach Donald savage is a good football player. But this I guess we're all of their safety. Maybe they thought it was too rich for Hollywood. I don't know. But that looked like a case where you think oh, no a fan..

"NFL draft. And what's transpired four all of the teams in especially the Cincinnati Bengals. It's been a pretty active and pretty pretty different looking. Draft class draft approach by the Cincinnati Bengals Irv some similarities, some differences Cincinnati kinda made some splash moves in the fourth round. They traded up.

"That you can get as seventeen that'd be very effective players. It makes no sense to me for the things they need to go defense at six and then seventeen quarterback the name drew lock you cover the SEC for us every single week. Laura Rutledge, this is a name that during the siege. And no one spoke at all and people haven't been number one quarterback on their board. What happened? How did that he has the most NFL ready arm right now? And I think that's what people look at and say this guy had accuracy. He also, I think brings a lot of moxie to the table. Not people know who he is player and as a person dealt with a ton of adversity at Missouri with coaching changes dealt with all kinds of issues there and went through it and led his team. I believe to a really good Stephen considering what they had. But I think that's what it actually is. It's more just looking at his arm and right now, I would say if you take Daniel Jones head of drew lock that's a mistake. I would still say that Dwayne Haskins QB too. But for me, drew lock Huby three in the strap with the minority. There's four guys they're going to be. Although there was some people who believe I've heard people saying, well, we're talking about. Mcshea yesterday. There were other quarterbacks or projected behind Daniel Jones. It's better than him. Yeah. Ryan Finley instead of Jared stood him we'll grew. But put those four in order for you right now, the four guys we expect to be the first four off the board with your Cuyler and Haskins. And then there's a relatively solid drop off for me in its drew lock. And Daniel Jones. Here's where I stayed. I've I've liked drew Las the giants. For awhile just because Pat Shurmur said my quarterback needs to move a little bit. So let me make this point about Daniel Jones because this is where teams in the NFL sometimes get themselves in problems Zanu Jones never really dominated at Duke. He never really dominated college football struggled when they played against Clemson a very talented football team, especially defensively you watch. Daniel Jones, struggle and struggle mightily gets cleanse. And that's an issue for me of going sweep why why was there so much struggle against the team? That is probably at least talent wise closest to an NFL roster. Right. There's talent eleven deep on. That's why were there so many struggles by couldn't we get complete. Patients. Why were there so many misses I had issues with that? I wait why? If you're going to be the guy that I expect you to come into my organization and totally take us to a next level. How come I didn't see it? In college football. You are never dominant in college football if you weren't dominant culpable. How can I expect you to dominate in the NFL? And by the way, if Daniel Jones goes in the top ten Dan Roloff, he's gonna freak out get up for that. But one thing that I do think that was interesting that shefty mentioned earlier is a fact that next year's quarterback draft class is better than this one's most likely, and there are a lot of teams who could end up take on sto. Well, right. But there are a lot of teams are going to take quarterbacks this year that may not be of the caliber next year. And I would say do the jets regret what they did last year. Now, the bills regret what they did. Go get Josh Allen. No do the Texans regret going to get to Shawn Watson, if your organization Pegues guy, if your organization goes, that's our guy for the next ten years. We might not agree with it. But you go get him. But you better have either production. Or projection to justify the new CBA created outlet for and that's where you got front offices that are more profitable possibly reaching for guy because you don't have to pay sixty million dollars that they he's a contract. So there are a lot of things that probably will play the see if you can develop a guy because you don't have to bet the house on the fact that he'll be a franchise quarterback on those teams that made those moves, you know, what not one of them. Did they didn't let the draft come to that? They wanted. They went out and got their guy..

"That's what you're really anglin for can you can you talk. Can you talk a better into five now? A the news. That's the question. I'm moten maybe somebody jumping back into the end around. Nobody if you have four quarterbacks going in the top seventeen which is way it looks right now. Right. Could one get into the late. I maybe who would that be team? Who would it be? I is it Jarrett stidham is at Ryan Finley is it will Greer. I don't know who that would be. And I don't think it would be. But you never know you put it for still can't believe Daniel Jones is going to be a first round pick. I told you that. No. I know I heard I hear it. But I can't wait for us. That's fine. But where is he going to go and don't don't do this? And I said, you're spiteful and vindictive. I said kitty, but you are spiteful. And you said, you know, question you even admitted on the listen am this guy. This guy admits that he would be wrong. No, he would be just to spite me. I am going to have a chance you're not early one thirty two players right in your. But then they'll Jones out of the moc moc. I know you're not not doing. If we were a long time, but I will tell you as a friend. Don't get it. I get it may end up over the years. Daniel Jones Todd's Jeff, George. Jeff. While you're in the as I remember that we said we hit with the top forty board for the drowsy. So I said he's not in the top forty had. We can't do that. So at eighty four so we can't put up top four. Now, the number of putting fortieth. I feel like I caved and gave them mercy grade and put them at fifty eight overall in the law top three hundred. Yeah. Hey, I respect. No problem with that. But mocking it is what I'm talking right? Conversation drafts or about what we're hearing. I am hearing that he's going to I. But I. Yeah. Yeah. Just do it. If you think now who would it be goes in the second you'll will kill. I was I will. Not me. Here. You take that. I'll take. All right. How about this? I don't know what you mashed potatoes. Gonna have to stare at your rankings for a second here. But this is a big this is a big bet there because it's such a defense heavy draft in this plays into the quarterback. Intrigue total number of defensive players selected in the top ten right now. It's at six and a half and the top ten top ten. Are you gonna are? You think you're going to get over that? That's that's a good number number. I would go over. So votes. Under. I the way this is kind of the Daniel Jones slash lock question Bosa Cornyn. But Nick bozo how state Cornyn Williams Alabama. Josh Allen Kentucky Devon white LSU at Oliver, Houston walks. Right. So it's five then it gets then it's Christian Wilkins. Very likely not lock. Right. And then I think the two wildcards are Devon Bush. Michigan linebacker manti has sweat defensive end. Mississippi State, right? That's it. So that's right. There is one at seven three four five six seven eight in the question here is obviously is there. That's eight can a skill really good about what what was six and a half six and a half. But we could this is interesting too. Because there's who's the skilled player putting in there. Maybe Hopkinson like it's not a top ten where you're like. Oh, there's this running back others this wide receiver. It's basically one than your. You're down to nine Parkinson goes hockey Hopkinson could legitimately go eight eight nine ten right. So let's just assume him there. So now, you're down to eight..

"Yeah. Slow cooking right now. Okay. So. My dude Ryan in Honolulu who loves the show and tweets he was asking me about. Meet Friday songs when do we do that? Well, here's the thing. We're on a bit of a hiatus is the right word, but we're starting meet Friday competition leading up to the final four leading up to Minnesota when we're there for the final four and starting next week thinks eaten or details. Still pending. I think coming up Monday, we're going to have the final thirty two and sort of that bracket the first the first round of the tournament. I begin wrong. Okay. So we're not accepting any new entries. No playing games. Yeah. Now, we know we know who the thirty two are now with the meat. So there's still some people working their way in and out. The selection committee is spoken and seen Friday is when we come back from the final break, you play the arcade. Fire's on the makes me go. Yeah. That love it. I also love by the way, combine questions that might be one of my new favorite things is asking draft prospects after they go to the combine exactly what the weirdest question was that they were asking yesterday. I was talking with Ryan Finley. He's one of the top six or seven quarterbacks from NC state used to go to Boise state, Boise Boise with an S net like Z, and he was awesome. Here is his question. And I want to get your responses. Right. This is what Ryan Finley told me yesterday. That he was asked at the combine the weirdest one. He got. I'm sorry. I'm with the back row again for it's a Europe. I wanted to know all of your responses. Fritzy, would you rather come in? I in one hundred meter dash or second in a marathon. I think life and one's professional career is more of a marathon than a quick race. Even though this may be a trick question. And I'm supposed to first place over second-place second place. I'm going to go with the marathon. Because that's more of what's realistic to you experience daily life and your career lasts longtime and not be a quick one. Hit wonder something. Okay. I'm taking notes by the way as to what my read would be. If I were the GM or the head coach in the room. And and I am writing it down and giving you a grade based on your logic. This is this is the Dan official combine interview question, and how you will be judged on whether or not I draft you the next time. I go on pardon. My take podcast, and they make me list, you guys in order of who I liked the most money did that was really unfair. I put paulie lashes because I knew Pollock could handle, mclovin. No contest. I'd rather win the hundred to me if you come in second in the marathon, you're a loser. In fact, when people say, I just ran the New York City marathon, and they expect me to give him a high five. I'm like why you lost? But the heck do I care to me? And by the way, neither them is a real accomplishment. There's no ball in is not a sport. But one hundred is at least closer to real athletics. Okay. Seton for just so people know again the question would you rather come in? I in a one hundred meter dash or second in a marathon, we have twenty people in the room. Seton better all staring at you right now. And in part forming an opinion about your financial security for your unborn kids based on your answer. This question think about it carefully. I wanna win. I wanna come first. Paulie? I could see the admirably of working to be in a marathon finishing second marathon how long it takes to prepare for twenty miles. But I can never choose to finish second in anything. I would never choose to finish second. I'd rather be the fastest man on earth. And the second place in American are always want to win. Okay. Are you guys ready to hear my breakdowns.

"Daniel Jones is Kuypers guy. He can get into them in a little bit. Ryan Finley is another quarterback. You said you mentioned the, quote, I did say I think this is one of the deepest group of quarterbacks we've ever seen. Now, you don't have Josh Allen coming out of y. Homing is the first round pick for buffalo last year. You don't have Baker Mayfield coming out of Oklahoma who brought all the fanfare eventually became the number one overall pick for the Browns. But when I say deep we had nine guys originally Clayton Thorson from north western had to pull up because of an ankle injury. So now eight quarterbacks that are all competing to be drafted. And I think with the exception of Tyree Jackson Gardner Menchu. I think they're all competing to be drafted maybe in the first three rounds. So you're talking about six guys potentially in the first three rounds in eight guys that are gonna wind up being drafted, and it it's been hard because of all the underclassmen quarterbacks. It's been hard for the senior bowl to get this kind of depth before. But with Daniel Jones, NC states, Ryan Finley mentioned, drew lock trace McSorley who all he did. It seems like is win at Penn State and a great competitor. Although undersized at six foot and a quarter or two hundred pounds will Greer has a lot of fanfare coming out of West Virginia put up some big. Numbers coming off the ankle injury didn't play in the bowl game. But he he's been here and had a up and down first day Jarrett stidham, I mentioned from Auburn cleaned Thorson had to check out Gardner Minhsiu who had a monster season one year at Washington state after transferring from ECU, and then kind of the the sleeper and the guy who has the most to gain this week would be Tyree. Jackson seven quarterback coming out of buffalo. Mel tell us a little bit about Tyree Jackson. We'll get back to your guy Daniel Jones later but Tyree Jackson yesterday. There was a lot of talk is not gonna come in at six seven. Sure. Enough six seven to forty nine. I mean, he this is a two star kid out of western Michigan High School goes goes, generally, you know, under recruited in, but size, the arm is it is there something there is this guy who could rise. Well, I guess it could when you watch them. Sure. And it's saw a lot of buffalo bulls games because they got off the phenomenal start. They were putting up a lot of numbers. He had Anthony Johnson wide receiver throw to k j Osborne as well had a really good year for the bulls. They were a good football team. And he was really doing a great job leading that team. He had some inconsistencies throwing the football his delivery from the time. You actually makes his decision where he's going to get that ball out a little slower than some people would necessarily want his speed that up a little bit. His accuracy at times is up and down. He made a few Ben questionable decisions along the way. I thought late in the year. He started struggle a bit. But overall the talent there I was surprised he came out..

"That is liked by his teammates that is. Capable on the football field. Who's only twenty four years old and still growing that to me is the key. And all of this is only twenty four. Yeah. I mean, let's Ryan Finley the quarterback the prospect of NC state, I believe is not even full year younger than I mean, you just get into sense of James Winstons play four years in the NFL. Now, I mean, so that's that's like the Amari Cooper thing with Calvin. Ridley they're going to be both twenty five six Six months. months. He's ones of rookie one's been around for. I mean, I'm sure who can tell you about that. That matters. The fact that you're dealing with a twenty four year old in in. So you say, okay. Well, has he matured seems like he has a little bit. But can you help him play better? Can you help him improve the ball security? I remember watching coming out of school in thought somebody needs to coach this guy heart. They need somebody that is always on them. And so I think that whatever happens there, they need somebody to get on and clean a lot of that stuff up. All that's great. And I hear you, and it makes sense. But, but Lou when I tell you that his seventy six turnovers are tied with Blake Bortles for the most since twenty eight nobody saying, hey blade. We can still make this work. That's a big issue. One of the how much of that goes back to the age or is that just fundamentally problem? Some guys are just turn over pro. They just are no matter how much you coach them. They can't really kind of get that out of their system. Because when they start reacting instinctively in the bodies are flying around them. They just they revert back to the phone. What is which is maybe not to get too has the ball? Maybe they don't have that awareness in the pocket as far as I need to go ahead and cover up and protect ball or they take those chances and situations that don't put the put the team in a good position. They just don't. So look, I think this is obviously there's a couple of things that obviously the GM and ownership is going to look to in order to justify keeping him around one. He is young too. He is our investment three. What are the alternatives? That's always gonna be with drives decision because I'll tell you what on the outside looking in. It'd be easy. It's easy for us objectively to look at certain things as far as turnovers as far as maybe some of his behavior and say, oh, I'd move on move on from quickly. But on on the inside their privy to more information. They maybe have some more insight into how this kid really is progressing from maturity standpoint, otherwise, you wouldn't make this move many people would come in there and go and this last thing I'll say on the cut you off if there was a new GM in place. I don't know if this would be such a slam dunk unless ownership is telling them, we're keeping them regardless. Okay. You know? Personnel. And you have said that you don't love James. Gimme one guy right now who you would think is available out there that could be an okay because when you think about those they give you a moment you can't it's hard to come up with a single name that is going to be a better quarterback next year for the buccaneers Jamie Switzer any Folsom works that he's at the first few years. And you know, what the only reason I would say that is because the when you're talking about better player acquisition in particular. All right. Your your banking on the fact that you can reproduce the environment in the atmosphere that that player just came from. So you can get the same kind of performance at that player that attracted you to that player in the first place..

"I didn't remember spur pink called the old beer coach. What was that? Exactly? There you go. You're joking again now. Right? Right. Yes. Okay. At this point, it's hard to tell it really is give me some give me some quarterback top quarterback matchup this weekend friend. Yeah, I think when you look around the country, three of the biggest names are drew lock senior from Missouri, Ryan Finley, the senior from NC state. And then Jared sit in the redshirt junior from Auburn, all three of those guys have good matchups this week, Missouri takes on South Carolina. So they have a senior late and secondary South Carolina's not playing all that well, but good test you for drew lock Ozzy. I expect him to throw for a bunch of yards. The guys in the second under watch out for for South Carolina, Keyshawn Nixon and Rashad sentence who senior owners their NC state say, take on Boston College, who they upset my temple owls. I say upset because I wanted temple to win that game. But Zack Allen for Boston. College was just ridiculously productive. He had like seven tackles four tackles boss a couple of sacks in the game couple of force fumbles. He was really, really disruptive. I liked this kid a lot. I compared him to guys that he's not the level of prospect of deforest Buckner or like a collapsed Campbell. But that's the style of player years. He lines up off the edge, but he. He's got the ability to slide inside. I like Zach a lot Lucas Dennis, and we'll harass or a pair of senior safeties as well on the back end for Boston College. So Ryan Finley. Senior quarterback good test year against the talent to defense. He's to try and hit those towns gives me out inside, namely Kelvin Harmon that shouldn't too wide receiver there for the wolf pack. And then Aubert they take Mississippi State and you've got on tests sweat, Jeffrey Simmons upfront, Jonathan Abram on the back end, Mississippi State is dropped two straight games. But I think it's exciting to see a house did do against very talented defensive front there for Mississippi State. So those are the to mad at a match ups, like latched from quarterbacks, going up against town defense. All right. What about friend running backs versus linebackers? Just running backs for watching. Yep. Michigan state LJ Scott has been in and out of the lineup with injuries, but they take on northwestern this week and they've got a couple linebackers, Patty Fisher and Nathan hall Fisher's. I think he's a Richard sophomore and Nate hall is senior. So keep an eye on that matchup out, Alabama debuted, Harissa guy. We've talked about a lot of last year love Damian Harris and everything. He brings to the field. They play Arkansas this week, draped greed laws. One of the best prospects for that Razorbacks football team, senior linebacker. So a good one on one match. I've, I've watched a lick of Arkansas yet this year, so excited to see if green laws able to pop on film. But when I do watch that game, then we'll go on the perimeter wide receivers and tight ends against these defensive backs Nyquil on Murray against Miami quarter. Michael Jackson nightmare. A guy I've studied from Florida state, this kid could scoot, and he's an explosive kiddies quick. He's explosives and he can make plays down the field. I know they haven't necessarily been able to get him the football consistent. But he's got a pretty good idea of what he's doing is route runner. This kid's got some juice..
