"Rabi sent you call three one four nine six five thousand. I think alex race is a really interesting case. Study to ryan because guy who has all the potential in the world the injuries have slowed down and now at the back end the bullpens been tremendous. I don't no long term. If alex race will eventually be built back up and be a factor starting rotation for the cardinals but for right now getting to see alex. Rae it's pitch unencumbered into see him. Pitch without physical limitations is huge. And i just think as as a fan as if you're cardinals fan. You've gotta be thrilled about it. Yeah absolutely i mean it feels like i mean it was. It was two thousand sixteen when he made his debut. The cardinals F feels like on one hand. It feels like it was yesterday on another hanna. Feeling it was fifteen years ago. He's been kind of in that conversation for a long time and not always in a good way. I always kind of been hopeful way. but just things just didn't quite work out. He couldn't stay healthy. You know different things happen and you know now. He's he's found a role for the moment. I still think with with his young as he is still. You knows aids twenty season and the stuff that he has his his future is in the rotation. I really do believe that. I think he's a guy that can be. You know it's like you look at jordan. Hicks mewes jordan. Hicks is is is a closer right. Ease eight seventy eighth ninth inning guy. And that's where he maximizes disability. I i really do think race. Still as a guy That can be a really really good starter in the major leagues and now that might not happen right now. I'm doing pretty good. He's got you know. Fourteen games out there has yet to allow a run under otherwise. But you know you look some of the perfumes. He's still walking a lotta guys. Twelve and fourteen innings. That's not exactly what you want out of a closer. He's putting guys on base but he has the put away stuff. He's got a couple different pitches and i do think that he winds up at some point maybe next year in the rotation. But you know he's he's a guy that you want to use however you can in the carlson done a good job of that so far this year offensively It's been fun to watch as well. And i think that especially in a division like the national league central. The cardinals have a good shot to continue to kind of evolve right as a team. Because we've seen some bumps in a row but it seems like as the pitching has become more complete in the relying on the starting rotation. Maybe the lineup has continued to become a little more complete. Is that top. Four top half top five of of the lineup has really Settled in and solidified itself. Right and fair. I think so. i'm not. I'm not fully sold yet on. I mean i guess it depends on what what expectations talking about is that. Is this a lineup for a team. That's gonna win. You know ninety eight games on the season. I don't think so is the one that's going to compete for the ninety two ninety two win range. Yeah i think so absolutely. They're good enough. Pitching is good in. The starters are good in the rotation and the bullpen is good. They have the bats that can do that. Goldschmidt hasn't done a whole lot yet or not had some big moments in run production but his his his numbers across the line.

"And David Bell has elected to shake up the batting order. Today. He has Alex Blandino leading off. He's dropped Winker to second. He's dropped Vado to clean up and Suarez down to five trying to find some offense, which has been Not existent. In about the last 10 days for this baseball team. Well, there have been high profile gaps by Major League Baseball this season in regards to replay couple of Sunday nights ago in Atlanta. Philadelphia Phillies runner Alex Bone failed to touch home plate, ninth inning slide called safe on the field and the replay officials allowed it to stand everybody in the rest of the free world. I knew this guy was was was out. I mean, it was It was clearly evident and then a couple of days later. The Mets are playing. The Miami Marlins and Michael Kahn. Photo clearly struck. It was cruel. It curly with stuck is heavily the I guess. It's an apparatus of protective apparatus that players were in their elbows stuck it out into the strike zone was hit by the Miami pitcher. Bases loaded at the time and that forced in the deciding run in a three to victory for the Mets. What's going on with baseball and replay. Ryan Fagan of sporting News dot com is a terrific story on replaying base voices. Don't ditch it, just fix it. Standing by to weigh in on it right now and maybe a question. I'll ask him on the Reds and whatnot. Ryan, How are you on this glorious Sunday? I'm doing great. How are you doing? Oh, yeah. I'm doing great, too, Or, you know, we had a little dusting of winter this past week. I hope we're over that and just concentrate on On baseball in the spring. I'm just I'm interested in in Justin overall view from you as to what the Reds are this year. Are they a contending team or just an interesting team in your opinion? I think there's certainly in that playoff conversation. I mean, I think when you look at the National League and then actually essential in particular, there's there's not a 95 19 there. There just isn't you know there's no team that's gonna run away and hide. So if you're in that conversation between, you know 81 1 500 Records and 87 88 wins, but not that big of a difference. We're talking about the quality of the scene. You're you're in that conversation. I think the register me in that conversation. Along with doors and the cardinals and maybe the cubs. Although I'm just not quite sure they're gonna have that power to stay around there that the entire season but Yeah. I think there's definitely in there. And then when you look at, um, potential wild card again, I don't think it's gonna take 94 when being a wild card. You know that the wild card my mind being as teams. They're in the 88 89 1 rates and, yeah, I think the red you know a couple things go right if they can get No mere Garrett back in the hope that you will be in that conversation. So it's the mediocrity of the product, not necessarily the quality of the teams, right? I think it's a combination. I'm not gonna you know, I wrote the word mediocrity one time to describe Ah high school soccer team and the reaction that that was very, very swift and People matter me for calling them mediocre, even though they've been 500 team, so I'm always careful by using that word, But, you know, I think that there's certainly is Element of you know, I mean, e mean, we see we see all the time. You know when, when the Cardinals won the World Series in 2006. They want 83 games that year. Right, So sometimes it's about opportunity. I think there's an opportunity to get into the potential again in the playoffs. Woman actually central in in, um 2021 that may not exist in different years. You know, a couple years ago, there were the cub Pirates and Cardinals all 1 97 games, arm or in that it's not gonna be like that this year, so the opportunity Is there to get in without a great team with a good team? Not a great seaman. I think that's what the rest of the ship. Well, Where are the great teams in baseball? I mean, the Reds move on to Los Angeles after they're done here in ST Louis, but I'm not sure where the great teams are yet. I'm having a difficult time Assessing what team looks like It is completely invincible. I don't see any yet, do you? I think you know the Dodgers Dodgers. You're a pretty ridiculously good, but you know, that's that's a great team. You know, we're looking at a s on their making book, Floral. I'm not. I'm not sure that it's there. No. You look at it seems that we're expected to Be contenders this year for the best team in baseball record, and the Yankees were up there and they that they're tied to the worst record in baseball. No again. We're not even 20 games into the season for most teams. Everything's taken with a grain of salt. At this point, you know, I think the Dodgers are pretty me when you're talking about the regular season that he's gonna have the best record. I think the Dodgers run away with that. And then October as we all know you think it happened. Yeah, No, absolutely right. That's the old line. Just just get in. Just get in and make it happen. You wrote a story about a week ago. Maybe a little less than that on replay in baseball, and, of course. It spun off that fiasco on the Atlanta Philadelphia game early in the season, and you have an interesting study in this article as to why Major League Baseball may want to go to a revamped replay rule, and that is review everything. Now that would that would clog up the arteries a little bit, wouldn't it? Well, potentially. I mean, I still think I still think you have a limited number of replay. Replay challenges available to managers during the game. I'm not saying you get replayed 15 things, but I think that just The types of things that are allowed to be reviewed. I think that needs to be expanded. I think if there's I think two, let's let's be honest. A little bit of this is the difference to the empire. And you know the play in the Game with the Marlins and The Met that ended with Michael Conforto getting hit elbow. Of the intense of whether he tried to get out of the way. That's not reviewable because it's left up to the discretion of the home plate umpire. The whole plate umpire has the work of you in the stadium at that point, because he's behind in Florida and support. It was kind of leaning that front arm in a little bit, and he's blocked and seeing that and the idea that that's not reviewable one everybody who watched that replay All what Conforto did with his front elbow and to say that that's not reviewable that it doesn't make sense, right..

"March twenty four two thousand twenty one addition to the program and ryan fagin joins us to talk some college basketball as we get for the weekend of the nc double a. tournament. And just a couple of days. Of course the area teams with the best weekend last weekend. Follow ryan ryan fagin on twitter and read them at sporting news dot com orion. We've talked last week. Getting set for the tournament and not the best weekend with the ncaa tournament or the nit for the area teams mizzou illinois and slough kind of a A just brutal disappointing. Wherever you want to say ending to what had been a a pretty exciting and pretty fun. Year for all three of those teams. Yeah and i think the thing. That's the most disappointing. Is the potential of what you could see happening in. It wasn't crazy to think that illinois could get two for the national championship game with. I mean that was wasn't unrealistic. You know it wasn't unrealistic than the zoo could have had a seven seed play. You know win that game. Two seed allston wind up in the in the sweet sixteen. We've we saw mizzou beat alabama this year mizzou beat illinois this year. The potential was there we saw the potential with slough could be you know and to have all three of those teams not just not reach the potential but fall. Far short of what expectations could have been disappointing. Give some credit to layla and puerto. Moser's let's start there. What did they do well. And how are they able to give the annoys such trouble really from wire-to-wire i mean they really just controlled the game. They really did they. They played smart basketball. It didn't turn the ball over. They didn't allow illinois to get out and run focused. Defensively stink keys. That's much like they did a couple of years ago in the run the final four the they executed game plan very well. There's a difference between having a game plan and executing game plan and know the the loyola team i'd against illinois to the same thing it did the on the run to the final four. It really executed the game plan very very well so what you make of loyal is chances next and again at team that i think. Sometimes we don't know a lot about a team or especially amid a major. We get caught in a lot of cliches but they can do a lot of different things. They can play in a lot of different ways. Yeah they absolutely can. I am stunned. I i wrote this on. We talked about the matchup was most looking forward to in the ncaa. Tournament was illinois verse. Oklahoma state i thought that was gonna be a great notch up. I thought it was a final four worthy matchup and you could have taken every single cent of my bank accounts if you bet that neither of those teams even make the the the potential matchup in the sweet sixteen. It's just really is stunning. But now all the soviet loyola looks to have. I'm not saying easy paths to the final four because there's never easy passes four but i they have a very manageable team. That just did did that. Illinois suddenly looks like it's a very realistic possibility that they play the way they did and they don't even have perfect and they could still be to the before ryan fagin with us from sporting news you can read them of course at sporting news dot com. Follow him on. Twitter at ryan fagin. Yeah i'm wondering about Mizzou and we saw gonzaga look great. Wouldn't mattered. i don't think or mizzou but for mizzou team just kind of frustrating. Last couple of minutes. xavier pinson not in the game. He announces that he will enter the transfer portal. Just kind of like a head scratching frustrating end to what had been an entertaining season. The tigers and console martin. Yeah you know i mean. I think that we've seen all all year from missoula. They're playing a good basketball. The tigers can beat anybody and the third. Not if they're playing head-scratching basketball times then they can lose to anybody you know. I mean it with the way that that game ended. You wondered if you know. The the sooners didn't have a couple of kids from mississippi. Mizzou couldn't do anything in the mississippi teams in se. Play this year so yeah it was. It was frustrating. The game was there you know they. They didn't play well and they still. They didn't play their best game and they still had a very realistic chance to win that game in the last three or four minutes to see his way like that. Yeah it's it's one thing to lose when you lose to a team that's playing perfectly and you just lose to a better team but when you lose a game that was that was winnable and that not all stick with you a little bit you been a lot of criticisms about console martin for instance and offensively the tigers maybe lack of identity there. Inconsistently are their inconsistency offensively. He's been around for a while. But i know. I asked you this question a couple of weeks ago and i wonder your opinion. Now what there is from zoo fans to be excited about if you feel like you know the kind of cornerstones Of the groundwork of a program has been laid by con zona staff. It's been a couple years with the puerto brothers. That injury disappointment now getting some new players in. Where do you feel. Like ms program is as a program at this point right now i think the the thing with mizzou is you have to look at where it was still. I still think you have to judge the program. Not would it could be not what. It wasn't the norm stored peak era. Or even the you know. The quin snyder teams. Were pretty good before that all fell apart. Yeah it's it's still a program that's trying to get there. You know they're trying to do that. Some with transfers or trying to do that with recruiting. You know the porter brothers. When i think every zoo families still wonder what what might have been if michael junior was healthy and clean and they were dante who i think was in a lot of ways. Better than a lot of people thought he might be. He was kind of the other brother. I wanna be a really good college basketball player so now they're always those questions i still think he's a good person to have their martin is and i think that i always say. Give him time because people don't have a lot of patients with that kind of thing right now but i. I still think he's the guy that's going to help stabilize the long term nature of the program which is something that you know. Quite frankly zoo hasn't had in quite a while. Have your opinions of any of the top seeds in the tournament. Change to this point ryan No i've been. I was impressed. With what michigan did against lsu without as livers you know. He's one of the better player. He added one of the better players in college basketball last few years. And you know with him. I thought that michigan was the most vulnerable of the one seeds. You know and for them to be. The wolverines to the only big ten team left in the tournament is quite shocking. Especially when you just suppose that with the pac twelve which has four teams left when most people said one at most in the sweet sixteen. But you know desire. Looks like like we thought they would you know they. They're a phenomenal team. In the oklahoma played about as well as could be against seven gonzaga was still on cruise control from the second half and put the game away when it needed to on baylor's played better defensively and then had a large stretches in the later half of the season. They're playing more like a team that is capable of getting to that title game than they did. Maybe in the in the previous three or four weeks so houston I feel like the resume deserved to but are they to seat good. You know. i'm not sure. And they got lucky quite honestly to get past rutgers in that second round. And that's why you know talking about his chances of getting go. Final floor of it comes down to a loyal verse houston game in the elite eight. I.

"Pick your take. You gestured under epic. We're not talking about the i. What do ya think man michigan. And hey another example of a guy who left and maybe the grass is always greener john beeline but regardless of seeding juwan howard. It's awesome to see former st. This is apropos of nothing. Really regarding the east region and the advice you're gonna give bracket but school to see guys like john howard and patrick ewing with their alma. Maters rolling Back the tournament. Yeah absolutely love seeing not now. The indiana jobs open Cheney's name possibly bounced around is a guy who could who could take that who could be at least on a list of candidates even though it feels like i. You probably knows who they're gonna go after if they've got boosters paying archie miller's out and volunteering the pay the next guy salary i don't know that they're going to do that Without knowing who it is but anyway cheney could be that guy as for the south bracket michigan is you know i. I don't think the received. I think that deserve number one. See i do think they are the most vulnerable number. One seed When you look at the loss of isaiah livers especially in there. He's been one of their best players all year last last couple of years. You know he's out at least early. Maybe come back but that seems pretty doubtful. They've got they've got a tough road. Lsu is a tough team that they possibly have to base In that second round. Florida state florida state gets there for states at tossed. Tough team to play. If you're not ready for we don't know the the lincoln lettuces always have they just create so many problems defensively leonard hamilton. Fsu coaches has been around. He understands how to get his guys ready. He understands how to Keep other teams uncomfortable. You're looking at michigan trying to get through those couple teams. And then if they do that they have to face either likely either or Alabama aren't willing to really dark horse michigan state. You know it's i. I would be surprised. The number one seeds. i think there's the wolverines are the least likely to get to the final four and then in the midwest. Speaking of number one seeds will save the one closest to at least what i've been watching for last And i don't say this tongue in cheek you point this out and you pointed this out the other day on supporting us dot com ryan his. I was looking at your instant reaction that illinois fans actually probably do have a gripe with The path they ended up with and another case maybe of at the beginning of the year and early on in the season they lost some games. But like if you really look at it like their ken palm rating was going up with some of the losses. They had because of the teams that they were playing scheduling and they've had incredible winds without some of their best players for various reasons. Everybody back now You know i'm i'm biased. To my siblings to illinois and regionally. I watched a lot of them but i think they're so damn fun to watch men. They're really easy team to root. For what do you make of their path. And what do you think lies ahead for the alana..

"How do you time that you time that from the time the first words come out of her mouth until the end, Because obviously, some people hold notes at the end. How do you have? What is the actual timing on that? So we start recording when the first note leads either of the singer's mouth as you have two singers this year and then the very first time brave is ended so they can elongate that parade for however long they can some singers in the past of that brave multiple times, trying to make it their own. But the very first time brave is completed. That is when we ended so well, we have to be very clear with these rules because we've had some pretty close over. Understand the last couple years, you know, had to go back and listen, relisting talk to some of our friends in the industry. Some other competitors. See what they've got. In usual year, there would be about 10 of us in the office all of their soft watches, all making sure we got the right to do you have, like, you know, we're all we're all working remote year, so we'll have to use the zoom and discord in other ways. Theo Insurance that we've got the right number. But, yeah, we need to have those rules in place just as much for us. As for the players, betting this really know exactly how to properly handle that kind of thing who catches the first touchdown pass of the game? What of the shortest odds? What player has the shortest odds on him who catches the first touchdown pass of the game? Oh, that's gotta be Travis, Kelsey and fiery. Still, they're both terrible co favorites there to get the first receiving touchdown of the game. I mean, there is an embarrassment of riches in Kansas City, whether my home doing it himself. Whether it's I think the three headed beast He has that running back is but when he's looking for his top receiving options, it is healthy it until those are two guys that get 78 receptions a game, which you can also bet on. Yeah, There are secondary characters and secretary cast of characters I should say in standing walking the markets Robinson, maybe because he's still technically on that, Kobe. Let's For now. I think when you look at Tampa, it's a similar situation. Well, but probably a little bit more disparity and foreign grabbed. You have Godwin you have, haven't you? Who are the top two options, But there is a little bit more of Off Get the tendency hombre decide to, you know, maybe fall back on the camera breaks or fall back off Antonio Brown. Of course, it's you know, we talk about embarrassment of riches on offensive look, so I would say that you know we have healthy and Hill as our largest favorite in that spot, and they're also outside of TVs, the two most likely to win M v P. But outside of that, it's really anybody's game for him in a hole in that first Reception for sex. Okay, so touchdown. So Hill or Kelsey? Were they right? I mean, what are the lives on that right now? For those two guys? Those two guys holding the first touchdown of the game. They are both at 5 to 1 right now wondering how many players on each side there are potential sexual to get that first CD. It really does speak to the fact that if it's Casey with the ball, those are the top two options. Everyone else is under one or higher. There's all kinds of things which coach will be shown first. How often will Giselle Bundchen beyond camera? The color of the ties of the announcers? I mean, I mean, all of this is mixed in and we talked about the most unique Prop bet off all the profits And this is more historical than today. But of all the profits, which one is the most popular? Uh, in your time there on a yearly basis, I would say, um The more traditional side at the embassy. One is the most popular, generally speaking about 50% of the forthcoming on the Cube. But this year we have seen some chatter around Jason Pierre Paul and Shack Barrett. There is this kind of narrative that With the injuries on the love blind side of the city chiefs. Authentic lives that candidates wrote to winning. This game might be through defense and so shack Ferret and Jason Pierre Paul were very popular both over 101 of Nevada. Now down to 50 to 1. I would say, looking at the exotic and what's most popular, It's the national anthem, and I think it's nice that across like that has started to kind of replace the popularity of the coin toss because I mean, we're gonna post the coin toss every year. People love it. I don't know why it's literally a 50 50 shot. We've got so much self you, you know, Goblin. Well, I I like and our players more and more really like the national anthem has that same kind of attraction as the corn cost and that you've already got a winner under your belt before the games, even search But you can actually do the legwork on this. I mean, this is something that I always tell friends or better. When we post this much content on the Web site, Uh, it is it is on you the better to find out where we grew up where we're going to be weak. And you could. You know, there's more better than there are. You know, studio experts like Levada that can, you know, react to all this in real time can be on top of this. So I would say that the national anthem has become popular. Because more people have really big do the legwork to try and figure out that rehearsal trying, you know, really do the word trying. Mishmash. What country Plus army together works in a way that you need. My God may not be the best that although again currently black black right now, So I guess we didn't seem too bad this year. But, yeah, the rise of national anthem. You know what color liquid is going to be dumped on the winning coach? That stuff is legacy stuff, always super popular and the more and more and get people away from points off the better because I get it. It's easy on something like, come on. Look, you know the craziness that we have, Jason Pierre Paul told total tackles and assist versus fingers on his right hand. Come on, let's work with that. Oh, there you went there. I don't think it's too soon. I think it's not what you think there's playing his priority. Oh, my gosh. Hey, Patmore, A good stuff. Fun stuff. Thank you so much. And good luck. I know this is kind of like your Christmas day. We appreciate it. Thank you. That's all we can about These. Will Tom Brady be shown throwing a sideline tantrum today. Yes, Mine is 1 50. No plus 1 10. "January so because of that and with all the non tenders and some of the free agents. Do you anticipate this thing getting busy right after christmas or at least maybe i second week in january something like that. I'll be honest with you. I'm not sure that there's ever going to be a time with this. Offseason whether rapid fire big signings big deals. I think it's going to be spread out. It's different this year. Obviously with the the winter meetings being virtual crime because so much of the winter meetings or deals that happening almost talked about this in his his press conference zoom press conference and you know writers have talked about this ad nauseam over the past week talking about missing the winter meetings because a lot of those deals happen in in conversation this startup. Because you see someone in the lobby right you get in a hotel elevator on the way up to the sweet and it starts a conversation. That obviously doesn't happen with zoom meetings. Those chance random things conversations don't get started so i think you're you're missing a little bit of that and people talk about deals that happened in the winter meetings and there are deals that are finished at the winter meetings but so many of the deals that happen in the weeks after that our results conversations. That started at the winter meetings. And so you're missing. Some of that. So i i'm just not sure that there's ever going to be a time where you see three big signings in a day or two trades in back back day. So yeah i think it's going to be spread. We've seen spread out off seasons. I remember when bryce harper signed with billy's he did after spring training. It started right so you know. I think it's going to be more situations like that especially as we're waiting to find out whether there's going to be a d. h. In this year any of the non tender surprise you. I and secondly which ones do you think could be a fit in saint. Louis potentially the one two surprise me. The most probably was david doll with the rockies for a couple of reasons. Yeah i know. He's at the issues being staying healthy. You know he's spent a lotta time on the dl. He hasn't yet had full major league season but he's twenty six years old. He can play all three zero positions and he was an all star in two thousand nineteen. It's not like he was an all star. Two thousand sixteen. He's an all star in two thousand nineteen the last full year. And he's a guy that was only scheduled to make about two and a half million on in the rockies. Basically said we're cutting everything as much as we can and he was one of the guys. They've expense expendable so he's a guy that i would imagine. There will be a decent little market for. He's not going to get a huge long contract because obviously the injury issues but he's a guy that could fit in a lot of places other some power there and the cardinals have long needed that upgrade in power and it kinda depends on whether the is going to have the h. And it's it's it's beyond insane to me that we are more than a month into the off season. And we don't know what rules requiring to be playing going into the two thousand twenty twenty one season you know but if the is it an a. d. h. l. I mean a guy like kyle schwab or makes a lot of sense. Yeah like eddie was. Reo mixed lot of sense. Nelson cruz makes a lot of sense..

"Tampa I said it Miami there he goes set it in Tampa. Bay Go. Ryan Fagin read them and Sporting News Dot Com and follow along at Ryan Fagin on twitter right before we let you go final thing it'll be a a quick transition from the world series to the off season and an off season that I am not sure many in the industry even know how to forecast what could be ahead what's the biggest question or what are you most intrigued to see develop as we get through the world series and into an off season that could be unlike any other following an unprecedented twenty twenty season. Yeah, it's GonNa. It's GONNA be fascinating. I mean there's a lot of things to consider you know the biggest thing that every everybody wants to know what's going to happen with agents. is the market's going to. Produce, big contracts is going to be very slow like it has been the last couple of years in. The, sits stage is set for that to happen was owners. You know they're going to say look at all this money lost were not going to be able to do this on the other hand you know mookie Betts. got that. Very. Much market value extension from the dodgers after the season had been paused right after they knew the revenue lost the dodgers still gave him that big that big contracts you also see you know the the qualifying offer bumped up like it's over eighteen million now seventeen million something this year that had a pretty significant increase. You know that tells you that the money is still kind of there and so you know I think that there's going to be a lot of. Chickens a game of chicken played you know whether you have the? The agent players saying he's still have the money give new free market value of players and teams, and for offices are going to be saying well, you know we really don't look what just happened. How can you ask us for this much money? So I think there's going to be a lot of that At play I think you could see scenarios where players Kinda Take Trevor Bauer approaching. Trevor Bauer is a free agent Sharon. He's talked for a long long time about how he's never going to sign a long term contract. He wants to sign a series of very rich one year deals, right? Well, there's never a better time to do that. Then this off season because teams are GonNa be hesitant or at least try not to hand out these long term contracts, what they also still want to win with what Bauer did this year he proved that not just. During regular season, but he was in his postseason start to I guess the braves you know he proved this he's worth taking a shot with a one year deal. So I. Think you could see other other players possibly do that too and looked to get back into the market. When things a little more at least hopefully a little more steady next off season. Yeah. That was always like the great theoretical like what could Mike Trout get like injuries aside if he decide a bunch of one year deal, so maybe we'll start to see that from a pitcher standpoint. Yeah, it'll be interesting. You know I think clubs of it because then they don't have to worry about if the guy gets Tommy John Surgery, they've only got one year that's in them. On the other hand, it is riskier for the pitchers but. I mean you could get a pretty good reward. You know for one year teams will give you more money if they don't have to have that long term commitment. So I think it's it's a bold move and I'm curious to see how plays out for Bauer over the next three or four years if he doesn't go that route. But yes, certainly something that they will all be watching Ryan fagin sporting news dot com and on twitter at Ryan Fagin, we will be watching the world series in reading and following along appreciated man thank you for. giving. We've got the MAILBAG coming up on Thursday with Dan. So we always love taking your questions big week of shows and figured we gotta start it off with little baseball last night the dodgers beating the braves to come back and win the seven Game League Championship series Julio Arrhenius the pitching hero down the stretch cody bellinger huge as well. Of course the. Tampa. Bay. Rays Saturday able to hold off the Houston Astros after they had been up three Oh in the American League Championship series they hold on to win the AL CS in seven games randy rose arena, the former cardinal, which we'll talk about with Ryan you're. Heavy P. so now it's dodgers and raise the dodgers back in the world series. Again, trying to finally get over the Hump and win a world series for Los Angeles the raise back after they appeared a decade ago under the build of Andrew. Friedman now, of course, executive with the dodgers. So it's a pleasure to welcome Ryan, Fagin, and of course, you can read them at sporting news dot com round great job covering baseball follow him on twitter at. Ryan Fagin and just as I'm sure everyone predicted a week ago or whenever you made predictions at the beginning of this season unlike any other what do you make of the series? Right? In the fact that two series that looked one-sided that times to series that have plenty of storylines let us to to game seven in this world series matchup. Yeah. We got a lot more based on a couple of days ago like raise they're gonNA sweep the Astros and. The braves were going to pull off the very quick and surprising upset of the dodgers but that didn't happen. Yes I mean seeing up luxury exciting games. I mean, just for that pure level of baseball enjoyment greats yet was I think that a lot of people were rooting for the rays or at least not rooting for the Astros and funny because they end up getting to the world series and the dodgers who always seemed to be at the start of. The season prohibitive favorites at least due to their team on paper in the National League, they ended up finally getting over the Hump Again and and getting back to the world series albeit not against the Astros. Two teams with different paths to teams built different ways but two teams that also share common thread Andrew Friedman Yeah I was around the raise a lot in that two thousand, eight season when they first made their run, you know they they went from. Mid Sixties wins as thirty one win improvement made it all the way to the world series and I got the chance to talk to Andrew a couple of times in small group settings, and you could just see the way his way that his mind worked away the he was looking at things just a little bit differently. The way he was making most of the resources that he had the limited resources he had Tampa. And you always kind of felt like you know man if this guy just get you know what would he do if you had a budget you know and I think people have been waiting for that in La they're waiting for is is to win the world series. You know they're waiting for the dodgers to take that next step you know, and this is the third time in four years they've been there the the first two times and Not. Way that they wanted A. Dodgers fans, but I mean. This is in on I've written a couple of times to this is not. A franchise that has a short window they're gonNA be there over and over and over for the next ten years with the way that they're set up with their farm system in the guys they haven't. In. The in the organization on the big now, and this is you know it could be the first of many World Series Championship. So they can find a way to knock off the raise. Is there a common thread between these two teams in the way that their managers have gone about it in the short season and post season, and obviously the way that they're pitching was deployed throughout these league championship series and throttle longer postseason really impressed with a number of the guys in the guys that weren't necessarily household names out of the average baseball fan on teams that especially with the dodgers had plenty of household names. Yeah you know I think that the raise they just throw out a about a thousand guys that you've never heard of if you're the average baseball fan but now I, mean I think it's it's part of the way that they acquire players I. It's it's interesting to me because a lot of times they seem to get guys who are unheralded or maybe have struggled in a certain place but I it almost feels like if Tampa Bay trades for you, that's like a giant shot of confidence because that means that the rays see something in you know it's a guy like Randy Rhoads arena who you know when he was in Saint Louis was kind of seeing it as as a As an afterthought in a big outfield mixed that the cardinals had and when he was part of that trade, you know you didn't think much of it because he hadn't gotten chance to do much with big club even though his numbers throughout the minor leagues were phenomenal at every single stop you know with the race saw something in him now I don't think the raise will tell you they saw him doing this in the postseason turning in one of the great postseason performances of all time beat I mean this is a raise team that even though you may not know that the average fan may not know a lot of these guys the the rays have been very careful. About, the way they've gone about building this this team that they have right now. Yeah that's been of course, the thorn I guess and Cardinals Fan side watching the postseason Ron is the play of randy arose arena. The way he goes about it. So Fun to watch I know it can be brutal if you're cardinals fan like any team that gives away guy who then goes in and does incredible things. But just from a baseball standpoint, he's been he's been remarkable to watch the astros tried seemingly just about everything against him and he just kept delivering and delivered and delivering as an observer. You'd have no reason to believe that that wouldn't be the case no world series. I mean the thing is, is I think. One of the networks broadcasts, new show chart of the seven home runs that he's hit in the postseason and it was awfully five different pitches four or five different pictures. You know it's not like he's just hitting fastballs and he put he put the the home runs all over the ballpark he ball everywhere with power he's. He's going opposite field with the pitch while he's hitting sliders using curveballs He's sitting fastballs he sitting everything right Allen. You know this is a guy that's just playing with the type of confidence that you really want and raise a really needed it too because I mean for being honest there aren't a lot of other guys in that lineup that are producing right now I think when you look at it, his contributions compared to a lot of other guys I mean, they're not not only they not in the world series without him y'all I don't think they get past the Yankees in the in the division series either. So the world series will start Nicole today's it'll start on Tuesday potential game seven and October twenty eighth there will be. A couple of off days after games two and games five. So we did not see the off days, League Championship series or the divisional series Do you think that the schedule set up in a couple of days benefit either team and I guess the first inclination the dodgers because of the way that they.

"There's all kinds of sports broadcasting gymnastics that we're going to be offering to you as we get closer to 11 30 as to where you can catch the Bengals and the Eagles in its entirety. And where you can find the Reds and the Twins in their season finale. Which is today. Here's the good news. The Reds were in the playoffs, They can finish no worse than 500. They lost last night to the twins. 7 to 3. Okay, Here's where things are. Reds have clinched a postseason berth. Their percentage points behind the Cardinals for that second playoff spotter second place in the NL Central Division. The Brewers are a game behind ST Louis and Cincinnati in the division. So right now the Reds occupy the number seven seed. These are the key tiebreakers. ST. Louis holds the tiebreaker with Cincinnati after winning the season series six games to four and the Reds hold the tiebreaker over the Brewers. After winning the season. Siri's six games to four So the bottom line on all of this is The Reds are right now the seventh seed And they could ascend as high as the five seed, but we won't know until all of baseball is done on this day. They may have to be a game played tomorrow. We'll see what we know is this Reds are going to the playoffs playoffs begin Wednesday and right here on 700 wlw. Find Fagin is Thie, sporting news correspondent that covers baseball. Joining us now, here on 700 wlw in ESPN. 15 30. I ate I kind of like some of these changes that that baseball has implemented eye are not really there yet with the runner on Second base to start extra innings. And I'm not a big fan of seven inning double headers, but I mean some of this stuff like the D H Im I'm kind of intrigued by And I I I'm kind of hoping it sticks around and in the National League from now on. I just think it's I just think it's time. But we'll see Ryan Fagan is here to talk about that army. Where you on all these changes that we've seen. I kind of like him. Yeah, There's no doubt about that. It could change the way that we watched the game and so many times you get to the extra innings. You like. Well, it's already 11 o'clock. I'm not gonna watch the extra 10. You know, 10 innings That's not case this year, so it has created intrigue. I'm not sure being a comparing myself an old school baseball guy, The idea of 16 that air a game within a game of 500 competing for a playoff fine. I'm not sure how much I would love that. But it does make it interesting, and there's no doubt about that. And I love That part of it, so I'm conflicted. Let's put it that way. Yeah. How many of these gimmicks I'll just call now? How many of these gimmicks do you think are going to be Staples of baseball to come and I speak of the runner on second, I speak of seven inning double headers and, to a lesser extent, the D H in the National League. How many of those? Do you think they're here to stay? Well, I think I think the D h is going to stay on and be honest with you. I'm surprised it's taken this long. You know, when the Astor shifted to the American League and you had constant interleague play, I really thought that within a year two of that, theeighties will it come to On the National League and You know what? That's fine. Let's have it. Then. I grew up like national baseball, but I love all those things. But it's the deviation here that that that quiet out of the deal you know, the ghost runner on second thing is Is interesting because Even people who don't like the idea and I consider myself a part of that group. It does make it interesting, and it does shorten the game. So in those ways, it has accomplished the gold of baseball once you know, and I talked to Mark Dorota, who works and we'll be networked, longtime baseball player And he was saying, maybe you know you keep some sort of version of it. Going forward. Maybe you Let him play the 10th and 11th innings and start with a runner on base in the 12th something like that. But I think that it has created excitement. It has made it interesting. And I doubt that baseball knowing those things is going to do. Let it go completely. Yeah, I think I think you're right. I do. And I do think the D H is here to stay, and I think The Reds were well positioned for it this year, and I think they're well positioned for it going going forward. The rights are playing their best baseball here at the end of the year, and I'm just What was in your opinion. A big turning point for them wasn't the fact that they had those top three starters and great Castillo and And Trevor Bauer. Was it the fact that eventually there every day it started to hit somewhat better to support that pitch. Was it the fact that the bullpen which frankly, is still shaky at best? Hasn't been quite as shaky lately. What was it? Was it or was it a combination of all of that? I part with the combination of all that That to me was just about when the bath quickly come around, you know, because you looked at the numbers and you know, charm of our obviously been phenomenal. Feels in phenomenal, Thank Grey and he had a couple of hiccups. He's been really good. And you look at that team and you look at the pieces on that even the guys in the lineup that we're producing and looked at that time you said. How are they not At least 500. How are they? Not at least into the playoffs. Give it for a long time They were. There were five or 56 games out of the second wild card, which is not something anyone expected them to be there. So the surprise, isn't it that there now that the prizes that it took so long to get there? That I guarantee you. There are the team. It's the top of the divisions. The Cubs that the brave and the Dodgers that are really hoping they don't wind up matching Against Cincinnati in a three game a festive three playoff series. Because that is not. That's not something anybody wants things I couldn't help but notice your your awards and your projections as to who should win. These various awards and you have more listed out and then he kind of cop out on the National League and I know obviously here in Cincinnati, we think Trevor Bauer has just been nails, particularly making that start last week on three days rest. I mean, my goodness and having that kind of an outcome. But the fact of the matter is is there are a number of these guys who have just had great seasons. So I mean, I mean, and you listed them all out. The likely suspects. The Jacob deGrom's The Yu Darvish is but also you included Bauer is e R. A his war numbers. It's very difficult not to make a case. For Trevor Bauer. Is it not? Yeah, absolutely, You know, And I say that I did. I did cop out because here's right across the galaxy. I've had official vote for the guy Young in the past. Had official vote for the M V. P. And that drove me crazy because I spent hours and hours and weeks, weeks days days. Trying to figure out how I was going to put those hairs and it occurred to me while I was writing them. You know what? I don't know what the hairs I'm not going to the bakery. When you look at it. It really is in trouble because it's hard enough to create separation over. You know, 32 33 starts in the year to do it over 11 or 12. It is nearly impossible. But I will say this. I did write this. Before Trevor's last start. So his last another brilliant start. He put that back that evening after I'd already president. Obviously he had a phenomenal game, which he's done all year, and, you know He's a guy that if he's not Top three on everyone's palate. I would be stunned, but I think you can. I can see a scenario where 545 different guys. Get first place those, you know, so I think it's pointed, um, I'm I'm genuinely fascinated to see how it plays out. I think he has as good or better case..

"Right to it our next guest I hate it I'm so happy to to hook up with him tonight I consider him to be gifted and talented and versatile and I think he's and I've said this before I'll say it again I think he's a rising star in the business I I loved his work when he was here on the Bengals beat for ESPN and ESPN dot com and I've loved his work since and it was that the kind of caught my eye and with what he's doing on a feature he'll tell you about here in a second let's go to the phones and welcome in Coley Harvey how are you doing okay how you doing then I am well how are you you're safe you're well what what where are you right now is safe and well I'm back in the Midwest these days I live in Chicago beautiful day up here today still could be a little bit warmer but but will complain too much you get done and stable healthy I hope the same for your family as well absolutely absolutely let me let let let me jump first the thing that the dentist caught my eye over the last couple weeks or so and yeah and have you tell my listeners what it's all about you're doing something called six feet sixty seconds explain the concept you know it's sort of random concept those sitting on my couch one day a couple weeks ago and I just like helping something sports related that one of these interesting at least interesting to me and you know I'm I'm hoping that it's interesting for people to follow me on social media as well but basically the idea is sixty sixty second kind of a play on the sixty feet six inches from from baseball the idea is telling people they make sure you're keeping your six feet of social distance right now while also learning something in sixty seconds and so basically I I take a minute and each day we have been doing this for a little over two weeks now each day I'm giving you some negative info of something that happened on that day in sports history and it's just kind of my way to keep my own personal sports sanity right now as the world in a way to kind of keep in practice for whenever I get a chance to get back to work on air Kohli what to what platform is six feet sixty seconds on for those interested yes so I I I'm just putting it right now on my Twitter and Instagram pages that both of them are very simple there my name Coley Harvey C. O. Ellie why Harvey and so Ackley arguable to those Instagram and Twitter and it's actually I guess it today I just happen to realize that today was the anniversary I guess you could say of the big benches clearing brawl here in Chicago back in two thousand six the big cubs white is one eighty percent Michael B. or actually Michael Barrett yes you read it gave a present the the the the parts of the face so that was today very bonded number seven fourteen on the same day that exact same day actually in two thousand six as well so just kind of looking at things like that and in finding unique a select a few weeks ago was the anniversary of the first game of the Colorado silver bullets and I know that many people but that was the and all women baseball team that was playing again all nineteen in the mid nineties and I remember the night I was a kid at the time but I remember them very well and one to kind of introduce people to to them as well Kohli Harvey's checking in you may remember you should remember him from his days here in Cincinnati used a few years ago cover the bangles for ESPN Kohli when things are back to what I use air quotes when I say normal what all you tell my audience what all you'll be doing with Fox Sports in the in the big ten network again this year yeah well it could have been doing a lot of hosting during during the college football season hosted a couple of shows force for that as well as updates during the week on the weekends are always on the sidelines of Fox Sports a college football game so I was doing you know your admission status couple times this year we were at Utah a couple times this year which she thought there in Oregon Utah is that but to me that the best under the radar team in the country this past year you know sweet we had a number of really good games really good interesting match up some of the crew with Tim Brando and do it then you know just a college football royalty hello this is been a really fun ride and you know we're we're obviously excited to get going again with whatever college football looks like hopefully in the fall we'll be going again with that and you know in the spring I was supposed to be doing some baseball the customer fingers will get disability action it's hopefully that I don't know who the record fellows just first they could build everything happened and I had a flight back home and I'm you I I was thinking about this today you you but you have to stop with the S. P. N. or doing stuff for them and sports center you recover the Yankees I've always thought that the Yankees beat has to be maybe the most fascinating crowded hectic well everything rolled into one of the eighty beat in sports what was that scene like in that situation like day to day I will tell you that as a sports reporter I I I've I thought this while I was in the middle of it and I guess that I can still feel it now but but certainly in the middle of it while you're on the phone with the flying for the speaker I felt like if I can cover this team if I can handle this thank you with just about anything and I mean it's it's kind of cliche it's kind of the Frank Sinatra you can make everything in it it is kind of that thing just because that that is a very true beast you know you're in the number one market in in in North America media market in North America you're covering Argo arguably the team that is the number one team in all of sports all over the world with with the recognition and brand that the Yankees have and there is constantly something going on even if it's kind of a mundane day in July there's young storyline that said it has to be written about it has to be spoken about with that team just because they're in New York and because the Yankees so so I I I it was only with technique it has its stressful moments but I had a lot of fun I have a lot of reduced the one that beat you know enjoyed being around the team that the guys at least while I was covering the night you know first class of people throughout the organization that I dealt with on a day to day basis and I think a lot of that comes from Brian Cashman the firm Aaron Boone hall down you know and so yes I I do miss that time there for sure on the baseball person too so they just kind of being able to pinch myself every day and I get the work here is it's pretty awesome I think we're going down to a degree American as well you know I mean I think your chances to do much for it when I was in Cincinnati but just being in those kind of situations I can say I'm I'm truly blessed speaking of situations take me back to twenty sixteen and I haven't seen all of your work but I I've told you I'm a big fan of your work and I'm not sure you had a moment where for my money you shined more it how you handled in covered Muhammad Ali's funeral and a memorial what was that experience like it was it certainly the number one memory I guess you could say my career that I'll always cherish I was the image of working with the S. the end of the time and actually I was covering the bangles specifically at the time and we're actually coming up on the anniversary of his passing I want June third and that June third twenty sixteen the Bengals were having I believe OTA's we're going on now so many campuses also some kind of mini camp or something was going on just before they were getting ready to break for summer we were really having a very serious work out but still stuff to pay attention to that being said when the when when we got news that Ali passed I just going to raise my hand okay you know just down the road here let me know if there's anything I can do I know the story can end up in the local press week with Allie being from local and in the Soviet era on down and I thought I was going to be there for maybe a day maybe two and I have been there all week and you know if it was truly a testament to the people who Ali brought out you know I mean I met people from from Canada from Australia or Brazil I met a man named Mohammed Ali who was from Bangladesh Mohammed Ali when he was when he was a younger man and there showed me the picture it was the it was really kind of crazy did you see the way the world came to mobile to celebrate the legacy of the man and and and and what he meant to the world outside of the ring just especially later in life what he meant to the world that was that was important for me to for us to be there and you know it just made me feel really special to have to be a part of it well said Hey this was excellent I I'm so glad you're doing well stay safe and and this was a blast took it up with you know if we do it again down the road then it often it is if if people want to have any ideas for sixty seconds derni suggestions let me know for sure I'm having a blast doing it a whole lot of people are are joined as well thank you very much you got in again on on Twitter and Instagram you're at Coley Harvey correct excellent thanks Holly take care all right that was good stuff good stuff are we come back I think is this this is so good I think he cries out for a collar segment Ryan Fagan covers Major League Baseball for the Sporting News any tweeted this yesterday and and this to me just sent me back in time for the answer it's a simple question Ryan Fagan ask who is your favorite baseball player when you were eleven years old and why Ryan Fagan baseball writer for Sporting News sportingnews dot com who was your favorite baseball player.

"Com again a website that I absolutely love I have no big get no money to say that it's just it's it's just really good sports journalism anyway Ken Rosenthal who's their national baseball writer had a terrific piece this week about sign stealing and how Major League Baseball struggles in this age of new technology to keep the integrity of the game together Rosenthal's piece was all about how the red Sox allegedly and they sat they cited three sources in this thing anonymous but still sources who claimed that in twenty eighteen the red Sox were stealing signs and using it in their video replay row and of course there's the whole thing that festered in Houston about roughly the same thing with the Astros so how does Major League Baseball in this day and age of electronic surveillance which is all over the place it's in your life it's in my life but it's all over ball parks for security and other reasons how do they prevent someone from doing what the red Sox allegedly did or what the Astros allegedly did and it was a really good piece written in the sporting news this week by Ryan Fagan he's their national baseball writer and the gist of the piece is is that baseball should deal with this the same way it deals with those players that abuse drugs P. Edie's and others and he said the problem is Major League Baseball is constantly trying to play catch up both with ways that some players cheat the game by using enhanced drugs that are there are detectable or aren't on a banned list right now and with the way this thing is going down with stealing signs that he had a number of interesting points that I wanted to get a mod today because number one I think this could be something that could play more than just a couple of baseball teams and two I think is points are really good so why not let's bring abilities on the acute hearing centers dot com hotline Brian Fagan sportingnews dot com how are you on the Sunday right I'm doing well can understand baseball little bit but yeah doing well for the day off I figured it out last week I I don't know what the numbers now but I I think as of Tuesday of this past week was seventy nine days to opening day here in Cincinnati that's not that all that for all it's really not when you put it that way you know spring training is about a month away pitchers and catchers start reporting a little bit more to play it you know and what we look for ever since.

"Two one two four two two seven that's eight five five two one two four two to seven george springer had another home run in game six of the world theories and of course the the astros lost and i think that when you look at each of these games than me think about the series is that every single one of them could have gone a different way there were opportunities that were taken advantage of opportunities lost by each team along the way in the series which set us up for really compelling dramatic game 7 and i i also love what we've heard from ryan fagan who destroyed us last hour from los angeles covering the world theories but also what we've heard from the players which is hey gained seven is what you live for the opportunity one game to win a world series this is what you play for a few gutic told me in spring training get it the chance of playing a game seven in the world series on november first examine so this is obviously the goal is is is is is to win uh i don't care how we do it but this the disaster if you would have told me at the beginning of the season but on november first we would stand here on the fields in a game seven for a chance to win the world series i would take it and i think that's the point every single one of these guys and major league baseball oh woodside up for this not knowing what happens along the way not knowing maybe it was a cleveland indians situation where they're up three one and there are still a game seven not knowing about the missed opportunities the chances that you just messed not knowing that justin burland under what's going to lose game number six it's crazy right away the eighth is have been treated by the lineups in this series but the the idea of a game seven a winnertakeall one of these teams is going to celebrated championship on wednesday who wouldn't sign up for that your odds go from being one of thirty two is their 32 i don't even know how many teams thirty thirty two and major league baseball i lose kale we go back and forth brought mas board to support you go from one of the field to one of two thirty thirty two teams in the nfl thirty enrichment with you bet baseball hey it's home show i can't be expected to know everything so here they are odds are down to fifty percent chance that you win.

"So you can find it at a local radio and you can look at the mouth watering peanut butter brownies and pumpkin cookies because that's how we do holloway in around here eight five five two four two two seven is our phone number we'll get back to your reaction about everything happening in sports very soon but let's welcome ryan fagan from los angeles he was covering the world theories and covers the national baseball scene for the sporting news orion we'd heard a lot of the exhorting by the the pa announcer at dodger stadium i just try to get the fans whipped into a frenzy so that the atmosphere in los angeles could be as loud and raucous as it was in houston for those three games over the weekend how do they compare um i well there's one thing when you're you have been obeyed park in the group quote that may help shirt the noise there every i was it was surprising that here on the guy with the mic talk about now the atmosphere made arctic when he's at dodger stadium 'cause i know your doctor spare they they get a lot of grief because you know they they arrive weight because of the track record we've world whatever is on that perception i i will be ana that the fans there have been amazing you know they they they hear is louder than want to we're sitting in the regular press box right in there but i can tell you i four feet from uh half the guide your stadium uh population they're they're they're loud and they they love it they're they're riding on every pitching you know they may not be quite as loud as they are in houston because of because of the the roof but you know they're there certainly there very very vocal why right or i guess tonight was was another one like that did they theme nervous to you for those first five innings this just burland berliners retiring fifteen of sixteen guys absolutely i i mean the first inning recommending they were cited they're going with every pitch but adds berliners started going them down there with a definite with dread kind of building in in the stadium they weren't talking as much they were just watching beer it and it was almost like it were they were violently begging for something to happen and when when they.

"To see as his life in in a in a tragic way you don't want to see him struggle in a very visible and public way because if he struggles it's not like your neighbour three to us is how it down who struggles know in in basic anonymity your every thing johnny manziel does is is a headline this is the perfect sample he was in that if is national fancy football convention yesterday ezekiel elliott also there guess we've got all the headlines jinan sale not as well it and so you know he's got a long life in front of him i hope for his sake that he is sober and enable to live a healthy lifestyle what that is a part of its past in people fall off all the time and so you got to be concerned about that and this was it just manziel's issues in cleveland it wasn't just like stayed up too late when the club going to bars with that was part of a clearly but it was like allegedly showing up drunk for work you know that that's a whole nother level of party you know when you show up for a quarterback meeting in you're not in a place where you can be there and be productive because you've been drinking too much you're doing something else too much that's a problem that's a real problem and so what franchise gonna invite that into their doors not to mention the domestic violence stuff right i mean we see now guys with that in their path having difficulty getting a job in the nfl journeyman cells got that on his weaker pedia page as well and so i'm not sitting here saying nfl franchise it's all of them would be a idiotic to sign johnny menzel because you can't bring a person like this india franchise in shame shame shame i'm not gonna do twenty minutes on that i just think for practical purposes it is unlikely to happen a he's probably not good enough to help you and be there's so much other stuff so much other stuff connected to him that is probably more trouble than worth when we come back ryan fagan from this sporting news gonna talk to major league baseball with him got chris vernon from the wringers in a v eight prague kathy's going to be scheduled for one o'clock eastern i'm gary perish of filling in for martin loses you listening to cbs sports radio right now is kevin dexter with the cbs sports radio update.
