"Happen this season the revamp schedule gave the world center of racing and opportunity to think outside of the box in race on the Infield road. Course. That has seen many of sports car racing's biggest races including the Rolex twenty four Kevin. Harvick. Won Back to back at Michigan this past weekend and will likely start from the pole in Sunday's go bowling to thirty five and says, it will be interesting leading the fields knowing that he doesn't have a ton of experience on the fourteenth road course that wasn't my vote I voted for one through thirty six random drug week know charter team so. I think it's it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. Obviously I think that there's definitely merit to it as far as in your position, the things that you. Think in the position that we're in. There's also Samaritan in keeping it mixed up and keeping keeping affair, having some new players front giving them an opportunity because at some point during the year. You, know some of those guys are going to going to qualify good and have a chance to to have a good weekend. You know you're you're back in the you know in the mid part of the of the of the pack and you don't have an opportunity to qualify you know sometimes those are taken away. So it'll be it'll be interesting. I'm good I'm good with whatever you know I think ME ME leading everybody in turn Daytona it could be interesting because I. Have No freaking clue where I'm going as as we go down there but most everybody in the field is the same way for prepare the best that we can and hope that oath that we could make it around the I lab. With all the wheel still headed in the right direction. Harvick is a heavy favourite to contend for the championship at season's end but has very little success saw NASCAR's road courses. He did win at the Glenn in two, thousand six and again in twenty seventeen in cinema. One of NASCAR's hottest road course racers is Martin Tricks Junior. says. He has minimal experience on Daytonas. Infield road course but no still have to contend with on Sunday. I've only been on xtra warrants and It was back in I think for when Iran Iraq series we raised there and. You know I didn't do very good I. List wasn't very good at it then. So obviously, there's for quite a bit different than what we have but Yeah. We'll see we've got a lot of work this week prepare try to figure it out I racing has as the tracks. So get on their get familiarized than hopefully. be, able to to to learn a little bit from that and then just you know hopefully the teams preparing. For a great car. Hopefully we can just you know have a car that's. Drives away I need it to, and that's really the case. So I enjoy road forces I'm looking forward to it. It's GonNa be it's GonNa be wild for share a lot of question marks, but it should be fun as well. Hopefully, we can do well true x has a win this season at Martinsville and playoff points down the stretch here will help him get into the championship hunt. Ryan Blaney has one on the road layout at the Charlotte Motor speedway a few years back and says, he's been on the simulator preparing for the new course and the new chicane Daytona has implemented before this weekend's events there you know when everything All the news came out. We weren't going to go to Nomo working to go to the Glenn I thought it was really nice that NASCAR improvise and. You know went to the Daytona road course So you know you watch the twenty four hours on TV and things like that I've never been on that place. We do a lot of simulation here. actually have a date later today to go back. To the Daytona road course and just try to get a feel for everything and but that's off turn four. I thought that was smart. Cars would be going so fast and turn water if we didn't have that. Kind of the same concept. Obviously, the roble just kind of slowing down and bought and giving us another passes so. It'll be. A lot of not not a lot of people have been on that place and we're just lining up racing. So they'll be a lot of people doing simulation work. I know even wearing it out over there in concord at the Ford Stem and but it'll be neat. NEAT and I'm looking forward to getting their next weekend. Blaney will be one to watch at Daytona on Sunday along with another championship. Favorite Denny. Hamlin who was already in. Mode wanting to learn from tracks down the stretch to prepare them to win a championship. You don't really have much that relates to what you'll have. Except for maybe the Daytona rogue or whatever it might be. To to Charlotte trouble. You, just. You try to win each and every week trying to gain the points that you can and keep keep putting yourself in good momentum going into that's pretty much all you can do and momentum and this. Is Week to week you know I think that you can have. You can win this weakening finished dead last last next week and it all your momentum's gone. So you just Makes you feel good when you can go to multiple tracks, different types of. Skill sets and compete for wins. Matter what kind of track or car that you're using it seemed like you know there's That are doing right now Hamlin has won multiple times on road courses in his career including Watkins Glen in two thousand, seventeen, the go bowling to thirty-five for the NASCAR Cup series we'll go live on the motor racing network at two. PM Eastern time on Sunday beginning with our pre-race.

"I'm a big. We talked about Bourbon whiskey a little bit ago. I'm a huge Jameson Fan. Really and they WANNA go to the original Jameson distillery and and really see how it was made you look at you. Look back it okay. You know how a process as it is to make whisky. It's a long process yeah fermentation takes probably a month. Now maybe maybe a couple a couple of months and then obviously you get the CASK. You get the cascades and year-old year to you know obviously you start getting into Irish whiskey. Yeah so you you think about back in the day when they made Jamison what what kind of smart people were making so they understood. Okay this this this. And he ended up in the baker's you know from this liquid on the bottom we're gonNA drip into this other pot and we're going to do it again. That's just it was amazing to me to learn about a huge Guinness Jameson. Fan and Are you part Irish right wise? Let's an affinity for Guinness James and like I say span like a thicker beer drinkers line or no. But the Guinness Jameson southbound. I love it but I just like the countryman country violence great and don't expect great weather but Expect really great people and unique things that you'll learn Just talking to people who've lived there for a long time manager is cool to hear and it's such a small country right everybody's on on top of each other you have a Colorado you have a Colorado cousy in your coors light which is from Colorado. I love this. You're so on your show on brand right now when you switch gears do you put like when you switch Jamison. Do you have like a Irish cousy or something now? Actually that's funny. I didn't realize what was going on. And that's visual. That's for those that are watching as oppose listening and again our audio got a little Jack there so when we post this on the video we'll see Who would just saying? Yeah by I Love Colorado Somebody Living Colorado and the great area. It's a cool like you know I love. I love the mountains and it's a it's a really good place but that's my favorite. Kunia man but I didn't even realize the sewer together I'm constantly observational. And that's that's what I do for a living speaking about survey where we're what do you observe as far as motor sports. Where do you love NASCAR? Would you like to be elsewhere? I mean you're fortunately you're smaller frame your smaller cat. You know we see F one drivers come to NASCAR. Could ask our go to F one. You know I As a as a motor sports as someone in motor sports. You know. You're appreciate all other forms of motorsports for sure you know whether it's f. One motor cross motor boat racing. You know you just enjoy what everyone does you know and and I would. I would go run any kind of car. You know. Everyone in motorsports I think would love to venture out of their comfort zone so for me like Personas Nascar Cup cars but I love you know if I ever gone to opt into go run. F One car for sure. I'm GonNa take you know it's just a. It's a really neat cargo drive. There's really only a couple of things that I wouldn't do. I'm very comfortable on four wheels if someone was like hey go around this supercross by Anaheim. I'm not GONNA do that. Those guys are nuts to me man. They're so amazing. I got the opportunity to go to Atlanta a couple of years ago and watch it. What they do is unbelievable to me and I could never do it I just. I'm not comfortable and that stuff but anything else. I just like to go driving. See The differences. You always want to see the difference other cars or things like that but Yeah let's try something else different but right now. I'm really happy on the where I'm at the NASCAR side but maybe down the road. If we can try some stuff I would you saw you saw Pastrana in Nascar for a little bit and he always says the famous saying you know with age comes cage at at at a young age. I feel like you need to be a little bit. More risky blaming. Come on dude like seriously I mean. Do you know how to ride to wheels like have you? Do you throw down. Yeah so I'M A I'M A. I'm a bit byte professional but I'm not more fifty professional right right. But that's a Lotta. These races are doing now. They're doing like one twenty five. They're having fun. And I mean I have to assume with Mooresville Carolina. You have to have some yards. I mean you're making pretty decent dough and you know you're a single guy got this yard. You don't even have Internet at Your House. I mean you're like doing well water and the whole nine so you should have yard. I prefer living out by myself but I gotta I gotta come by tracks would so I? I always read those but I mean I've written some four fifty to fifty is my life and just I'm not that serious about a man i. I can't really get hurt. You know a pit bike. It's pretty hard to get hurt on fit bike or pretty low to the ground pretty easy not very overpowered so I stick with what I can do not get hurt with because I enjoy. We're a map. Yeah you're fired and that's something you know so two things here in my wife again always tells me. Don't ask you questions. What are you? What's your current lineup. As far as cars and also exposure because we talked with I can't remember who was the other day but about your exposure to getting hurt. You can't do this. You're you're you're a professional athlete. You can't expose yourself to getting hurt so you know that comes into play yet does it does come into play and I understand it. You know from an owner standpoint You don't want your driver to get hurt doing something else right. I mean that's that's understandable And I get it. And they came with the job No matter how much you know I wanNA dirt sprint cars or late models. Something like that. Can you know? It's just it's just part of my contract so Adds to run all the Petchey cars which is which is you know I. I agree with but at the end of the day all racist WanNa race. They WANNA raise anything. They can get their hands on What we are doing But at the same time you have to look at it from an owner standpoint and say hey if I break my leg running sprint car and it puts me out of a cup car a month. That's really bad it's really bad so Yeah also understand. It'd be the same time you have fun and things like that. So that's where the pit bikes go play. But you have to be responsible. You know you don't WanNa go. I love snowboard. I don't WanNa go jump off a a Fifty Foot Ledge. You know and do that. So it's it's just all about being responsible and and realizing that what your job is. Your priority is that buback Darcy. Is He doing dishes? Look at this. What's what's what's for dinner. What's for dinner tonight are you? Are you a Vegan Vegetarian? Are you a red blooded? I am not Vegan. I am not daring Darian. I love me. I think we got all kinds of guy. Are we got chicken pork and steak tonight? And all guys have a smorgasbord or stocking some veggies and some potatoes. And Things. Like that so yeah. I'm a I my steak rare so I don't really bloody just you WanNa you WANNA move in when it comes to you. Yeah a little bit of a move. Yeah a little bit of a mood. That's you. Can't drive stakeout man. This is part of now for sure. It was so when you're when you're in the cup season right now. We're in a little bit of a lull. That's how many weekends. How many races are there in the season? We're thirty eight weekends a year. Oh my goodness so like when I mean and you gotta think you know prior post coming down pending on where you're at negotiations the silly season. I mean what what do what does your week look like race on Sunday. Walk it through our normal while things are normal. Let's let's not talk about. I racing and all that right now. You just wrapped up in Phoenix race. You want you want here in Phoenix and Monday. Yeah so so race on Sundays Monday. You know we'll get back really early Monday morning. Probably from a west coast as raw here in North Carolina but so we'll Mondays we'd have our competition meetings so we're competition meetings are There's like one or two. Yeah all teams go in myself. During the Gatto Brecca's go in crew chiefs The higher ups we Kinda talk about our weekend right so that weekend and we talked about next weekend. John of our approach towards things Somebody did something off giggle right there. What what is this Bubbas girlfriend is being she So we do that and then Tuesdays You Know Mondays Tuesdays. You're in the shop. A good amount. You know you're in the shop about senior guys GotTa just catching up with them and then Wednesdays are really kind of our off days you can kinda you know. Do things around the house things like that. That's really the only off day you have During the week and then Thursday's be flat racetrack. You know we're at the Racetrack Thursdays through Sunday. So we really only get one off day a week but it's a lot of being around the shop kind of catch up with you guys and then preparing either debriefing or preparing for the next week. So it's it's really nonstop and especially when we get this season going now after this delay we've had it'll be crazy. Non Stop Listening. Are you participating? I watched the first person I've watched my first CORENTIN NASCAR race. Which is the IRA saying? And I'm seeing some people flourish in that kind of space in that world of the I. Racing World Are you flourishing? Are you floundering? Are you succeeding? What's your take on it? I'm floundering I don't really I don't really do the IRA thing man There's just nothing that I've never really been into Part of the reason because where I live This is so yeah so it's Some are very new spotter. His name is Josh. He's a big Guy Research. He's very good at it. Actually and I've gone over to his house to raise Texas last week. I very good. I don't practice all the time like all these guys average of their house. They practice all the time on the Irish thing and I was just a different feel. It's a good I like what they're doing. You know as far as putting it on you know Fox. Sports One and and showing them live and things like that commentating. That's good for the sport you know. Get some people to watch the underst- not very good at it and It's a totally different beast right. I mean it's a totally different beast and then also played. Would you throw your spotter and the seat? I mean there's no cameras I mean. If if you jump down he jumped in could really. We haven't tried that yet. Really good idea. Hey y'all Ryan Blaney here just checking in get in here guess seat go ahead Racer Army. I'M GONNA stop saying anything about that because it might happen. Oh we switched from the mountains are blue to the Red Vino. I ran out of beer. So you're out of light man and you keep talking about Ohio Iowa neier North Carolina. And maybe you see one of your favorite drivers as a kid and you want their shirt and I guess updating from back from you know from the seventies You take good care of it and just preserve it for yourself or your kids down the road just to keep it alive and where the Sport Cam came from. And that's why Georgia that's funny. You'RE GONNA you're GonNa Kinda you. Autocorrect yourself. Came from comes from. But you have this heritage and there's a lot of good I mean let's call it is nascar is good old boys right like it's kind of and what's interesting about first of all hold on. I don't stop there. This is beer with your DNA. So I'M GONNA CRACK. Open a beer. What are you currently drinking? I'm a big rocky mountain fans. I'm of course I hope the mountains. The mountains are blue for Mr Bellini. I'm currently drinking hedge witch. This is from modern times brewery and originally from San Diego California but let me let me describe their students a double Indian Pale Ale with an Amarillo hops. It's a nine point four Percents Hispanic. So you're about four and a half percent so I'm I'm drinking beers to your one. Yeah yeah no no. I'm not look I'm not saying you. There is I people always ask me like. Oh you're a beer guy. What he did depends on the weather. It's gotta be cold wet and sometimes just wet yeah. I'm actually not a huge beard beard but I'm more kind of like a bourbon band or wished guy myself. Okay okay. We'll talk later. I'm taking over the GATT now. This is dares pulling awesome Some beer I see a gin bottle back there and like gin very much but I do see a Johnny Cash Vinyl record which is nice all right so I got. I got some things here. Get Fluoride I gotTA I GOTTA. I got a few different ones here. Yeah so so. I'm a fan of bullet. Ri- like bullet right. What you've got right there. Yup that's good stuff. What are the other two you got? Oh okay are you going to take a shot all of them? Yeah so I I gave you a gave your shot at one point seven five. This is the the Costco special. This like this segues into my next question because I know people want to understand who you are what you do if they've never they don't follow the the round around. Nascar BECAUSE I I think you're more than a NASCAR driver. I really love what you're doing. You're branding and all this cool shit that you're doing this one's cool. This is actually Pearl Jam's Pearl Jam's Brown Sugar Bourbon. Let Me Give A. I'll give you a flavor profile after. Take a actually make it endorsed in it. Yeah it's a heritage distilling and they are out of have to assume up in the peon. W Yeah they're they're in gig harbor Washington so I'm a huge fan. "It was Ryan Newman there was about to take the checkered flag it appeared so the celebration in victory lane was muted after Hamlin's win because of a crash on the final lap of the green white checker finish this saw Ryan Newman's car go airborne and flip on the tracks several times after jockeying for position with Hamlin a Ryan Blaney coming out of turn four now if you watch it it appears that Ryan Blaney and I may have this wrong but it looks like to me that Ryan Blaney is car comes up he has no where to go he traps Hamlin and then somehow the ended up hitting Newman's car and this is what happens is

Denny Hamlin wins at Phoenix to secure berth in NASCAR title finale

"Hamlin who wins at Raceway to advance to the championship round and joined his. Teammate Kyle Busch I. He made Mark Drake's junior and Kevin Harvick and I'm glad you're here stevie because it feels to me like Chris. Gabe Hart is the Steve Waugh Tart Denny. Hamlin that you were to orange junior in a way because downgrade the poor guy that no I mean I see pro series. Yeah Chris Gebhardt and any have found a way to do it on their own. Think you saw it with the swagger. I disagreed with the final pit. Call soon as it happened. He had a huge gap of lap cars. He could've put on four tires. I can't say he would have been the first off pit road. He could have been the first car. Pit Road maybe only beaten by the twenty one I would take that position every day. Gebhardt stood there made the call and and then and then kind of let his guard down victory lane after and said Yeah. My heart was pounding. I didn't know if that was right. Call but that's what we were going to do. And that's what I did and you know what. Listen I have no problem saying I disagree I I disagree and I have no problem raising my hand and saying you know what I apparently was wrong because two tires did work and it was impressive and toback to your original statement. Danny you know just believed in it and made it right and that's kind of been emblematic. I think of why this relationship is work so much. In the reason the gay part reminds me of you with Dell junior is gay bar comes in a and he has this accountability. He has this. We're going to do things differently. WE'RE GONNA hold everybody to higher standards not that. The team wasn't capable of winning or continue championship it before but there was something missing and then he talked about it a little bit yesterday that they're not best friends off the track but clearly the professional side works and Gabe. Gabe heart believes in him. I think the way you believed in Dale Jr. at a time when juniors conference was low I think Denny's confidence was a little bit low cut off last year and it's worked well between them completely. I think gave heart believes denny at times more than denny may believe in denny that's Not a placebo man. That's real. I mean. Sometimes people that are extremely skilled talented and whatever they do lose their way and forget why they're so good at something and it's hard for us that don't have that skill to explain it. I can't drive a race car I I can't. I'm not a professional athlete. So sometimes that lack of ability helps me appreciate their ability helps me remind the driver you you really damn good. Look at everything you've done and Denny Hamlin this year on the track off the track in the media on social media taught top to bottom inside and out is a different style driver. Then he wants was the one thing he didn't change which I actually like is. He has the superstar superstar swagger. Yes some don't like and pick on them and it's fine if you don't like it and he's okay if you don't like him which I think is great but you know sports heroes become heroes. Because they're not immortals they're they're bigger than the people cheering them on they act bigger than and Denny's that guy right he's got the Jordan man. He'll take a picture of his plane. He'll tell you how how good he can be not boastfully but confidently and I actually think in today's sports we need stars like that. There's GonNa be a group that don't like it they're GonNa like the Ryan Blaney kicked back. You know trucker hat and a cold beer and that's Great Cheer Ryan Blaney. But there's a group that I think you earn for some swagger and if you're looking for swagger you kind of have it

"Catch corey on our Sunday money podcast here on motor racing network but Corey when we look at this thing Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney man a pretty neat for those guys to be locked in to the next round going into Kansas this week and with Ryan win and at really shook it up way more than if he didn't win and Ryan Newman won that at some different guys in different guys out Ryan or Ryan Blaney would have been out to be pretty crazy and a lot of guys are and must win situations going into Kansas it really is and told him when we look at it if we a who are guys that are going to lock themselves forward at this point in the playoffs especially when you look at the the Denny Hamlin's the Martin Tricks Juniors the Kevin Harvest I'm not sure we have Larsen and Blaney but to Corey point that is what kind of has this thing jumbled up a little bit too guys that maybe we didn't see are locked in they are secure under the round of eight yen to me that's that's why the playoffs worked so well when it was established right the chance for guys to come up big when it matters and get a big win so Larson Blaine you're feeling pretty good I think everybody from Kevin harvick up some decent feeling probably pretty good about going into Kansas but I'd say Kozlowski Lugano they're probably a little bit nervous in those guys on the outside looking in they've they've got a huge hill to climb Brad is twenty points to the good joey is eighteen points to the good when I look at this year corey with Denny Martin I junior Kyle Busch Kevin Harvick thirty six or more points they really need to avoid the catastrophic but sometimes the catastrophic happens how how do you how do you avoid the catastrophic preparation you know because the only thing that can bite Kabushiki Kevin Harvick probably you're just McCain tissues right in the beginning of the race where they finished dead last yeah if they can just prevent that and then at least just get through the first two stages they're going to be pretty well set we've talked about stage points and in Sunday's race at Talladega Joey Logano earned eighteen states points he finished second in both the first the two stages ironic that he is eighteen points to the good we've talked about it all year long we've talked about it it's time after time after time this thing he had a terrible the third stage got wadded up in the big crash man no states points paid off big for them absolutely and he had a terrible Dover and he had terrible Talladega on paper but he had enough points like you said that puts him really probably not in a good spot but he's definitely breathing and sleep in a little bit easier last night then he would if he was even yeah he said he's feeling uncomfortable but uncomfortable is better than panicked I would it boils down to and that's the case Tony when you look at Joey spot there yeah I totally agree in pinski teammates he's going to be so prepared right they've probably going to spend extra time on the simulator to make sure everything's Good Kazlauskiene won this race back in the spring this package so they've got a lot of information coming in so I think they're going to be ready to go corey my question to you is do you drive these guys differently win comes to a cutoff race well just in the playoffs in general those guys are race something bigger than I'm than the rest of my season is up for grabs for so you definitely of those guys'll more room in normally would whether it's trying to stay on the lead lap I'm not gonNA race somebody like you know whether it's Alex Bowman or something like that they're leading the race I'm not GonNa hold them guys up anymore because it could be the difference between somebody making the next round eight or not coriander here we're talking we're here to talk about the playoffs but one of the big hot topics coming out of Talladega was manufacturer involvement and we understand this happens but I watched that race and we you race car drivers we just can't help you guys from being race car drivers and ultimately this kind of takes care of itself and an and and again without getting into all of all of the manufacturers stuff ultimately what's one manufacturer really commits to working together like the Chevrolets did this week and then the other manufacturers to follow suit because you can't take a four car Ford team and be a six or seven car Chevrolet trains can't do it so Ford's obviously having a catch up in that regard we don't we haven't had a Ford powerpoint on what to do not like the Chevrolet guys have so we haven't got to that point yet luckily Ford Blue Oval Gotten Victory Lane this weekend I think Ford had six of the top eight or nine I saw so we had a good day for the four blue ovals and luckily with Joey Dumping Eighty eight wiped out about all the Chevrolets so pretty much took us out for that that set us up pretty good when we look at Kansas Tony you mentioned Brad Keselowski picked up the win but when look at the top five from the last raised their Alex Bowman Second Chase Elliott Fourth Clint Boyer in the fifth spot ironically those are guys that need top fives and better so it is a good track for those guys to try to raise their way for it's an excellent track for them and it's interesting to see three hundred cars in the playoffs on the outside looking in but when you start to look at those points right even if they can pull off a second a third in a fifth when you're eighteen twenty two twenty four points behind that's not just race good everything will work out that's race good and somebody this is going to have to have a problem to be able to jump the cars that they need to jump to get in it's just gonNa be such a tough task because they're they're not trying to jump a Kyle Larson who maybe hasn't had the best year or a Ryan Blaney this kind of been on the outside looking in it's Lugano it's Harvick these are winning cars something's going to have to.

"This is Nascar live not there yet they gotta get through to try over crashing further back Chris Forces in the war he gets airborne lands on all fours field steaming to the Line side by side to the checkered flag Brian Blaney wins the One thousand Paul Dot Com five hundred at Talladega now back to Mike Bagley that's how it sounded Monday on the motor racing network the one thousand bulbs dot Com five hundred at Talladega superspeedway man what a race that was and in the and by seven one thousands of a second Ryan Blaney picking up the win and also punching his ticket into the round of eight the Monster Energy Nascar Cup series playoffs and here on that scar live to talk about it and welcome to the show congratulations on the big Talladega win I appreciate it and thanks for me so from your perspective oh how it ended but what was the journey lake over four hundred ninety nine and a half miles to get to that win on Monday and Talladega yeah I mean it was long again for sure especially you know two days starting on Sunday in it getting rain and you know luckily Monday was a really nice day outside but you know there's a really long especially when you break up like that and really just in general of of trying to you know stay with your support and people that are really help you out I'm still the pit strategy things when you're hitting under green usually have your green flag pitstops in the stage's there and then towards the end of the race obviously you get more cautions we had to miss a few really big wrecks at can't get through there but we kind of had collected and all the other speedway rex this year so it was nice to finally be able to have a chance to sneak our way through the big ones how's it going to say you have had a tendency to be a magnet when those big wrecks breakout you just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and I guess we're as many days that go wrong like that you should really relish the success of making a making it through all that what's it like driving through all that mayhem when cars are spinning sliding and crashing all over the place like that yeah I mean sometimes you just can't do anything about it you know the race we've been in it happens every speedway race this somebody or a group of people love you're just riding along and a wreck habits in front and there's really nowhere to go that's what happened to us this whole year has happened to a lot of races that happened to a lot of guys yesterday Um but this you know all these times that we would see it as soon as it happened and kind of make a game plan on it's quick it's kind of a quick jerk knee jerk reaction where you're GonNa go and hope that whole is still there when you get there but yeah there's I was right behind the sixty two when he flipped over Brendan and luckily we were bad that one in a couple of others just you know you just hope holes open up you hope you see it first off you know a couple of I was able to see pretty early on right with someone data shape and you kind of a half an idea where they're going to end up but you don't know where the other cars are GonNa end up just you know some of that stuff is luck of being in the right place at the right time and then you gotta be able to you know make a quick reactions and quick decisions on getting through there we had a caution that turned into a red flag at the end of the race right there at the end and you had some time to think about what was about the happen what kind of thoughts did you have when you're sitting there on the backstretch under the red flag what kind of what kind of thought process are you engaged in right then yeah that was you know we're going to probably come down to agreement checkered and I think it did once they got it all cleaned up and appear who's going to be behind me I was going to be the best land to choose kind of all that stuff's rolling through your head just seeing what what your options are and what you think is going to be the best way to kind of execute it so that's all that stuff is processing do I like sitting around there and doing that because sometimes you over think it no I'd rather just Kinda go because you can make all the plans you want you know they spe- raises a lot of times you don't go to plan but yeah just gives you extra kind of a little bit more time to sit there and about a little bit more game plan and luckily that you know the game plan worked out I was going to say and that definitely was a winning game plan you're able to pick up the win move on in the play offs what's the twelve team like right now at team penske where do you think coming up that the strengths of your race team will breed S. on the racetrack now as we enter the enter the stretch run here with five races to go in the season obviously our morale is pretty high right now I mean it has been all season but the you know the winds have kind of eluded us even though I felt like we had a good shot to win two or three I'm already and just kind of slipped fingers but obviously it's good honestly I the Rhonda eight for us this year is is all really good tracks for us I look back at these races earlier this year where we've run from Martinsville Texas and Phoenix and I think we and fourth Martinsville this year we were leading Texas when we blew motor and we let a bunch of laps in Phoenix ran third so you know where we are in the points is most likely we're going to have to win one of those races to get to Miami which is fine we kind of had a must win situation this weekend but ours never know what if people have troubles or not if you can have a solid three racist but I really like all three tracks that we're going to hear in the round of eight and now you know hopefully we can have three really good run is in and try to get a win there of course you got a mile and a half racing coming up we'll talk hands in a moment but you've also got Texas coming up and the season finale at homestead Miami speedway where's the team Penske Mile and a half program in your opinion right now I think it's okay you know you look back at the only other mile and a half we've had already in the playoffs Be Vegas and I thought it I thought our cars were pretty decent rhetoric fourth Iran v third or something like that But I thought our cars were pretty decent joey led a lot of that race so I think our mile and a half program is pretty close I think a couple of other cars are really strong right now that gives car seemed to be really good the four cars pretty strong but you know people things always keep changing and you know on this Kansas race you know the Brad want it earlier this year but it's going to be a whole different racetrack with it being the daytime and things like that and people have kind of adjusted on how of their cars to you know since that race so I think it's pretty strong but you can really you can never fully tell on your competition to get there the next mile and a half opportunity he will come your way Sunday in the Hollywood casino four hundred at Kansas speedway a race that all of you were here right here on motor racing network what do we need to keep tabs on some of the things that we need to pay attention to what are some of the things that you and Jeremy Volunteer crew chief and the rest of the team are going to make sure our buttoned up to ensure that you have more success coming up this weekend just executing racist staying in the hunt got up we've talked about a year and and getting better throughout the race like that's something we really worked hard we need to do that the win yesterday definitely put us it came at a great time you know it it boosts everyone gets you in the next round you make make a pretty good statement so yeah just just like I said staying in the game executing well and just doing their job the best we can we wish you the best in doing that this weekend at Kansas and races it's Ryan Blaney he wanted the one thousand bulbs dot com five hundred at Talladega superspeedway on Monday coming up Kim Kun talks with our seat at Richard childress and later we'll talk Kansas.

Because I think that maybe the first mistake in the history of Toby Christie. No, I'm not perfect. I do make mistakes. But I do try to limit my mistakes as much as possible. And that one was pretty funny when I find found it what the heck I misspell is going through the thing twice and didn't catch it. And there it is phone. Did you see our guest? Tom Selleck magnum PI mustache aboard. Ryan blaney. He's lip is that what he was growing that for this whole time. Perhaps. I mean, he has to compete with the best. Right. Anybody else on the show or was it just a normal like usual had NFL running back. Eddie, George some other guide and rice that's former NFL running back, by the way, George pretty good there for some other guy. Didn't write him down though. Oh my goodness. It's all complete here. Is all you do is watch TV TV the Toby doesn't watch. This is the one time you can finally contribute something into this. Wow. He actually hit something breast up into the table here. And you fall flat. The episode is called winner takes all appropriately. If you are looking on your DVR on demand or the CBS app. So are there any good like race puns during the show? I didn't watch it. I don't know. Oh, I thought for sure you watch this. No. Well, how'd you even get the information? You have here. I'll probably from Toby Christie's calm. I don't know. I did not write about magnum, PI, definitely. I don't know where you got this. But you definitely copy and paste this too somewhere. I got it. Maybe this isn't true either new head of copied and pasted it because on demand has on capitalized in demand capitalized, you wouldn't have done that. Yes. I did. No. I I wrote this stuff I didn't copy and paste any of that. No. You you copy and paste that I did not. I'm telling you. I wrote that from something you're eating well. Yeah. But I didn't copy and paste will why didn't you because I had to make it in my own image. I had to what you did was you wrote. Did you see Ryan Blaney last Sunday night on CBS TV show magnum PI? And that and maybe did the Tom Selleck mustache thing. Everything else came from something else. That was not you. Okay. So I wrote half of it. We've gotten to the bottom of this. But no, I remember specifically typing on demand because I actually thought of exactly what you said is it on capitalized demand or on demand. One word it just didn't look right, right. So, hey, here's the story that we tease at the top of the show and didn't provide you. So in case you've been waiting and waiting and waiting. Here is dangling that carrot out. This is the one right here in Toby's got it for you. You're gonna give it to me on prestigious honor. Here we go. Jamie Murray will in fact race in the upcoming Daytona five hundred carry what? Yeah, he's doing so with spire motorsports and their number forty car..

"And really really been influenced thing since they've been around isn't twelve and. To get to meet him. And just talk to them for ten fifteen minutes that was that was really cool just one on one. He's no joke. It'd be we'll talk about now his intensity level when he was playing even now I see him really intense. And that was that was cool. We gave him a body armor firesuits from what I ward Indianapolis. He wouldn't fit in it. But now super amazing guy trying to get them out to a race. But perfect guy for that brand go-getter and. I think that was that was really cool. So I I love watching him growing up, and I was cool to meet someone like that you get star struck with guys like that you try not to a little bit. When you when you really look. You know, when you watch those other athletes play when you were a kid now to to meet them when you're a little more grown up that was super cool to me. But you just try to be casual a nice to tomb. He was he was the same way with me, which was very very cool him. And last question, how do you plan to attack the new start finish line here at Phoenix? Yes, different. You know? It's really different. We only made a few laps there. And in the first practice discount. Your visual representation of everything is is way different like going down the new backstretch, which was the old French stretches. There's no grandstands there anymore. So that's that's kind of weird coming off that corner going on the frustration. Nothing's there. You're right. But I do like it. I was driving in this morning. And you kind of go over this big bridge and used to be able to just see the back of the grandstands. And now you see the whole front and is very open. I thought that was a really cool. Look kinda shows you that there's a racetrack here not just back of grandstands. So that was really cool. But yeah, I think not only the finish line is going to be interesting, but the re-start zone you're kinda right in the middle of the corner right in the middle of three and four. So it's gonna be weird. It's gonna be crazy. I'll be watching. You know, both races are going to see how it plays out. If you're like in the fifth or sixth back, you're going to be like getting into turn three by the time, the leaders go. So that'll be it'd be weird. I think tomorrow we're actually having some restart practice are going to allow some time to kind of get everything feeling right. So get a small idea before they throw us out there with forty of us. All right. Ryan blaney. Thanks so much for the time being on the final up nicely..

"Find the final weekly click subscribing like said, you'll have autumn delivered to your device, which is nice and most these places have a feature where you can review us. Give us a five rating. Let us know how great we're doing and for not doing so good. Just don't worry about it move on. Yeah. Just ignore that part. We don't wanna hear about any four star reviews. No, definitely not we want five and above so five and above is the requirement. Otherwise, you're not allowed to listen to us anymore. Seriously. Why are you even listening? If you don't think it's five star wool. No, don't well. We'll reach in and grab your eardrums. That sounds painful the exactly so you don't want that wish upon yourself right now. Definitely I have a feeling Kerry. The you know, Jimmy Johnson had a really bad year last season. And you're hoping for big return. I think we're gonna have some Jimmy Johnson the show this week. Just got a feeling I can feel it in my loins. Well. There was a sign. I was given a sign this week. And I'm checking out my phone, and I what's the weather like in the area. Oh, okay. That's good. That's you know, LA's pretty pretty night. Oh, wait a minute for the next seven days. The low is forty eight. Yeah. So what you're telling me is that you're able to Photoshop your weather for the week. But you weren't able to change the background to white in your photo for the hard card this year. Exa-? Well, yeah, you're blaming me for something that I could possibly not do in the amount of time needed. I just don't have that kind of time. I am just far too lazy? Why would I do that? That literally is a screen shot from the weather from my area and the low for the entire week full seven days is forty eight degrees. That's my sign. That's that's why on this show later on. We will have a Jimmy Johnson. Bowl while since we've heard the old bonanza. That's nice. Yeah. We had a dust that off we had a dust that off. Hey, also, we've we should Pat ourselves on the back. We've done a remarkable job of keeping the fresh interviews coming. That means that back, Texas and Phoenix we did. So many interviews that it is literally lasted us until this week where we don't have an interview. So what I thought is I'm gonna pick my favorite interview from last year that I did and the next week. I'll give you some time to think about it. It'll lead Toby's pick. So this week. Ryan Blaney my favorite interview from last year. Wow. You know instead of that. If we didn't want to recycle something that has been done before we could just been an entire interview segment going down the sponsorship package.

"Victory lane photo on ever forget that couldn't even take the Hans device off your so excited caution to the win. They're awesome, Spencer Yager. Thanks so much taking time out weekly. Thank you. All right there. You have Toby Christie and a little bit of awkwardness there better be some in there is there really I feel like it was Lockward situation. I was I got a pretty good glare from the PR person. He even looked at her like do I answer this? What do I say? And. Wasn't a very in depth answer. And I could tell they want to move past today not recorded, and you can just you know, opt out of a question. Well, that's I don't. It's very weird. Like, I've never had a driver. No, not that move on. Which is an option. You could always say that they always live or something. Yeah. And so I don't know why they do that. I mean, we've got the editing wizard here and carry Murphy, you can make it sound just fine. Right. Just say we got the wizard back home. That's what I'm gonna do. Next time. An awkward question like that. When they get weird. Do you just want me to not say this? We'll just cut this exactly that way. It's not awkward but off the record. Tell me the answer you were gonna give me if it was like totally not awkward, then when they answered just put it in the show anyway off the record while our little machine still records. Right. And then we'll just put it in the show. Exactly at the end somewhere. Yeah. Somewhere in the blooper reel area. Checkered flag lying on this show. Also, thank you to to Ryan Blaney. He was also on the show. Yes. Mr. tattooed Blaney. This has been the.
