"It's like you're expected to step into this role. But if you're a part of a group and part of a group where you're with other men constantly feeding off of each other, we have the strength to be able to really feed each other and build each other up in a different way than a woman can. And it's not a bad thing. It's just the truth. But that's how you, that's how you bring more masculinity to the table in your relationships. Is being around other masculine men and gleaning from each other. It's just so important that I can't, I can't emphasize it enough for people to find that. Wherever you need a look, but find it because that influence is big. Amazing. Where can our listeners go and listen to obviously your podcast is the muscular gentleman podcast? Yep. So obviously he's going to be on pretty much any platform. They go, they can listen to that show, amazing. And I want to go and listen to the episode that you were talking about with the political science guy there. That sounds amazing. It just rolls out yesterday, that one. So it's a recent one. Definitely check it out. It's good. Oh, great. I will do that. And then where else on social Instagram or any other platforms where people can go find you? Yeah, you can find me on my website, which is the muscular gentleman dot com. So you can go there, and you can definitely find me on Facebook and Instagram. It's just rust and web. Are you STO in? If you just look that up, you'll find me. Yeah. So, but yeah, I'm always open to talking with people about this stuff. It's what fuels me too, you know? I didn't put together the muscular gentleman as if I am the muscular gentleman, right? I feel like we're all striving to be that muscular gentleman and it's a work in progress for every single one of us all the time. It never there's no end to the journey. It's just a constant, but you know, if you ask my three year old son, what I do, he'll tell you, he's a gentleman. That's my job. I'll leave you with this, and this is exactly what we've been talking about this entire episode is, and my buddy Mike, who I work for, one of my closest friends. So I get to work for my best friend. He says, it's not focusing on the goal. It's focusing on the process. And if we all just devote a 100% of our effort to the process, the goal will take care of itself. You know, so just, yeah, man, it's focus on your journey, not the destination. And you'll get where you want to go. If you're just living that out every single day and walk in the talk, I love it, man. Dude, rather than I can't thank you enough. Really love talking with you, man.

"We're more protectors, they're more just like this nurturing, safe space that is absolutely needed. They need both so bad. It's crazy. Yeah. They do need both. It also reminds me I bet you've heard this story at some point. It was over. I don't know if it's folklore or anything. No, I think it's actually a very real thing. These juvenile elephants over in Africa that were absolutely devastating this region. They were trampling. They were wreaking havoc fighting and doing all this stuff and it was found that it was a group an elephant like large group or herd. I think believe that you would call elephant group a herd, a herd of elephants, but it was all juvenile males among other females. And they were wreaking havoc and destroying this area. What they realized was they had to bring in the big daddy, right? And they did. And they brought in the bull, right? The big, the big leader elephant, the male, and he came in and he straightened the stuff out. And all the juveniles came back in the line and that whole herd fell in line under the leadership of that one big strong powerful elephant. So it's kind of like the male lion in the pride. The pride is not the pride if they don't have the male line. Now sure, the female lines are the ones doing all the work. They're doing all that. They're going out and doing all the hunting, right? And taking care of the babies. But they need that. They need that one big male to roar every once in a while and let everybody know big poppy is here. And things are going to be a certain way. We need that structure, you know? And I feel like that's how men need to think about their sphere of influence, their family, their neighborhoods, their communities.

"The comparison game that most of us adults and we all do it to some level. Some people are ridiculous level. This is all they're concerned about. But all of us on some level, you know, it's like he went to level up. You want to measure up. You want to be, you know, you want to be accepted among your peers as a that you've attained a certain level, right? But that's not really what's satisfying at all. That doesn't fill that hole. I've talked about this, not even necessarily on podcasts, but just in conversation with Mike here and other people I work with about, we're constantly trying to fill these holes like these spaces, these voids in our life with stuff. And we realize it's like, it's like you're in a boat with a hole in it. And the water keeps coming in and you're pitching the water out, but no matter how much water you pitch out, the water is still coming in and you're like, I can't seem to, I'm going underwater no matter what, it's never enough. It's never enough. There's something, there's another layer. There's another deeper purpose to my life. It's like, how can I be in service to others to inspire others? I think it's just the way we can connect and help and serve mankind on some level, I think, goes, that's what starts to fill, I think, those gaps. Yeah. It's what I kind of talked to my men in my program about the difference between happiness and fulfillment. People think that happiness is kind of one of the keys. And look, a nice juicy steak can make me happy, right? I can spend 15 minutes consuming a steak and I am happy. But that's fleeting, right? That happiness goes away quickly. Fulfillment is more like, am I actually helping change someone else's life? Because that's fulfillment. And like, yes, I'll find happiness in it, but it's also long-term.

"It's free for you to consume. You can leave it or follow it or whatever, but it's out there. And it's really grown into something that's so much fun. So go over to YouTube sometime and check out critical bench and you'll love it. That's a little side plug for the YouTube channel. A little side plug. Then I was gonna be plugging the YouTube today. It's so fun because now my son is ten years old. He wants to be like a YouTuber. So he's doing his own little YouTube videos now. They're all usually like sports related like baseball stuff because he's really in the baseball and it's fun. It's cute. To see him enjoy and have a little bit of enthusiasm for it. So tell me right now if you can put it in the words because I think part of being a man is being is learning how to be humble and learning how to be kind and learning how to step up and step in to your manhood and mature in other words because we all think we're real men at 20, right? Like we've arrived, we're manly. You think you know everything and what you learned is like, gosh, that was a real jerk when I was 20, you know? What's your double that age and we're both in our 40s, you know, and we've gone through some things in life now and you realize wow, we did not know it all. And all the things that you thought were uncool at 20 become really cool when you're 40. Talk to me a little bit about stepping into that 40 year old person looking back at your 20 year old self. Like, what are some of the things you wish you could tell yourself? Oh, man. You know, I definitely would dive into my masculinity right away, which thankfully I've always had that urge to want to work out and lift weights and be healthy. And I think that's a huge starting point for because there's a lot of 20 year olds and now that they don't even prioritize that at all. And I definitely think that's one of the major ways of just maintaining your masculinity is that discipline to workout consistently to eat healthy and prioritize your health. Because as you grow into your manhood, you start to understand your purpose a little bit more.

"And mine was pretty rough. It was pretty stern and pretty harsh on myself. Like we're our own worst critics, right? And I remember sitting in the car explaining a situation that I was in and just feeling frustrated with life and he stopped and said, rustin, if you change your language, you'll change your life. But he goes, your language to yourself is terrible. It's terrible. And I ended up writing down how I talk to myself several times. It was kind of a little homework assignment to just write down how I was talking to myself. And it took a minute to figure out how to start writing because my brain's like, this is weird, right? But eventually I started just writing. And I started reading what I was writing. I'm like, man, that's not good. I mean, I was harsh on myself. And so I learned to change that language. And that was a big part of it. Is how you talk to yourself. I don't think most people are aware of the thoughts we just kind of flood our brain with on a regular basis. That self talk that internal conversation that we have and the language that we use, I would say, that's one of my greatest weaknesses. The harshness that I seem to put myself through. Right. For the smallest things, I'll call myself an idiot or a dummy, right? Why would you do that? What the heck? It's just like so, so critical. But if someone else talked to me that way, I'd be like, wow. Right? Yep. But I'm so accepting of myself doing it. It's so true, and I have my three year old son, his name's rustin too. So we have the same name and I've actually caught myself where I have inner dialog, but I sometimes will stay out loud and I'll be like rust and what are you doing? And I'm talking to myself and my son will look at me like, what, I wasn't doing anything, dad. And I'm like, isn't anything dad?

"I wasn't a gym owner. I was a general manager for several years in a trainer and a coach for several years. And it's so fun working with the public and really helping them go from a to B to change their lives to transform their physiques to get out of pain to get them moving more and how life-changing that can be for people. So this is a guy who we see eye to eye on things with. And he has a brand new platform called the muscular gentleman. It's a movement that he's creating where men together can come together across the globe to not only get healthy and in shape but observe their masculinity as a fundamental, a fundamental part of their life as men. What it means to be masculine and really soak that up and live that out the right way. And how that transforms relationships, builds relationships, and how it changes society. The need for a good, strong men. So my man rustin, thank you so much for being on strong by design. Yeah, thanks for having me. I'm so excited to be here. This is great. This is great. You know, I love that wood. I love the, you know, I got like the crazy background. Crazy action figure collection and my bookshelf that has more pictures on it than books. But you got the cool wood like, did you do that yourself? I'm always curious about the nice wood backdrops. Yeah, this is a backdrop. So if I move my screen here, you can see this looks nice. But it looks. Yeah. That's close. This is cool. Yeah. But it looks so cool when I got it. You know, as an Amazon purchase. And I just love the wood and I ended up getting kind of a nice comfy, I don't know if you can see it, but it's a nice comfy chair. Down the street from a store and then it's just kind of an easy setup for me to do my podcast and also my coaching stuff. So yeah, well it's so simple and yet and it's that easy for any of you listening right now if you're doing any kind of virtual speaking or podcasting or anything and you need a setup. Some people really like go crazy right and invest hundreds and thousands of dollars you could get like basically a nice what do I want to say? It's not like a blanket but like a backdrop I think a canvas and this was like, I want to see it was like 30 $9. I don't want to give away all my secrets to everybody but it's ridiculous. I didn't mean to look like this. I had no I had no plans for this. No, yeah, there's some really good deals on there. If you look at backdrops on Amazon, you'll see all sorts of cool stuff. Yeah, man, that's good. That's really cool. I really like that.

"We're back one on one. This is America first with me some action walker and Newt Gingrich. What was it you said at that event at the museum, you said that when you were speaking or there was a certain year where you ran candidates, the Republican candidates ran canton the republic party ran candidates everywhere bar bar three or four seats, correct? In 1994, we broke with the tradition of trying to be clever. And we ran candidates in 432 congressional districts. Wow. We beat chairman ruston of the ways and means committee in downtown Chicago. We beat speaker fully and spoken in Washington. And we beat the Jack Brooks, the chairman judiciary committee in the Houston suburbs, no technical expert would have said we could do that. And that's why we ran everybody, because we didn't know who was going to win. But we knew that if we got a tidal wave that a lot of people would come in if you had people on the ballot. And I would say the same thing this coming year that this could be a magic year where there really is a gigantic tsunami. And to use a Cold War phrase, what is the correlation of forces between the new America first, a mega post Tea Party type of Republican and The Old Guard, the bana Mitch McConnell Bill crystal is the new populist conservatism winning right now. Yeah, I would say it's probably 70 30 or 80 20. You know, and again, when you have these kind of profound upheavals, you're going to have remnants of the old order. And that's just natural. And most of those remnants in the end are going to go along with you. And a few of them are going to leave and join the other party. But I think you're seeing a nationwide rebellion against obsolete bureaucratic government. And I think you're seeing a nationwide rebellion against big government socialism. And I think you're seeing a nationwide rebellion against radical woke ism and all those. And then frankly the great problem for the Democrats, which was captured dialog perfectly by Ted Cruz, who said that Biden's problem is that he combines the incompetence of Jimmy Carter, theoreticals and George McGovern. And I think that's pretty accurate. And so the best theme next year may be, this isn't working. I mean, you may be able to build the biggest possible coalition around the simple question do you think this is working? Yeah, fabulous. Well, I am saddened that we have run out of time. I'm also saddened that America only has one new gingrich, but here's the good news. You can listen to his podcast. You can follow him, got his website, order his book right now beyond Biden..

"Here's matt paroles. Let's college football oregon's big win for the pac twelve. Ucla got a big win over ucla. Oregon goes into the shoe and beats ohio state more from the weekend. Texas big loss to arkansas. Ruston writes about college football for sports illustrated. Ross map alto aria. Good how are you doing. I'm wonderful thanks for the time. Let's start with what mario cristobal team was able to do on offense to that buckeye defense. Look it's one game but were you surprised at how easily oregon was able to move the football in the buckeyes on the road. Certainly yeah it was Every time he looked up there were a lot of green grass in front of the running back Or a lot of open spaces around the receivers It clearly A great a great job. Schematically by joe moorhead the organ offense coordinator for mississippi state head. Coach you just you know. I think going in you could kill what the game plan was in in that was To kind of break apart. Ohio states front seven. Their friends on on defense with the rpo in that exactly would happen. you you. You saw the quarterback brown just just play play. Incredible in the line play everybody played well and and also you know orchestrated a carpio game. Plan that just kept Ohio state off balance. And i one of the most impressive stats was at i. Brown completed seventeen passes to eleven different players. It's just that's crazy in the you. Don't see that a lot which is a good example of how oregon kept off balance that ohio state Defense and i. It was wild to see you know one game in college. Football can be significant oregon. Winning that game is obviously huge for the pac twelve but going forward for ohio state. Clemson loses to georgia on a neutral field by really give three points in that game a pick six is what's decided that game so you can explain away. The loss clemson had to georgia. Can you explain ohio state. Losing at home as a fourteen point favorite to oregon at the end of the year to justify them getting into the playoffs. It's tough Yeah if you if you know. Let's say.
