A highlight from Michael Saylor: Bitcoin to $5 Million is Inevitable | EP 824
"It's all going to zero against Bitcoin. It's going up for everyone. Bitcoin! You're against Bitcoin, you're against freedom. Yo! Welcome to Simba the Bitcoin Live, we're your number one source for the peaceful Bitcoin revolution cover breaking news called dramatic warfare will be your guide through the separation of money and state today is September 14th 2023 another day in Bitcoin another day on the Bitcoin roller coaster they don't call the Bitcoin roller coaster for no reason there's ups and downs we hit 25k we're back to 26 ,697 but if you zoom out if you zoom out in the grand scheme of things if you believe in the meme 21 million divided by infinity or infinity divided by 21 million I think it is we all know we're early but there's something I want to talk about today specifically there was a very famous spaces that Michael Saylor did and I think he did it with some some legacy media people there's a huge spaces and there was three things that he said needed to happen in order for Bitcoin to 10x and then during that spaces he even said if these thing if these three things happen Bitcoin will inevitably hit five million dollars per coin now what were those three things first thing was the changing of the FASB rules right with the accounting the fair value accounting rules and that happened not too long ago we broke the news I wasn't there I had some swan duties that day but Opti and I think it was Rustin were holding it down so we covered that and then number two was large banks right I'm not talking about like small banks or you know these these Bitcoin crypto focused banks I'm talking about large banks offering institutional custody of Bitcoin of digital assets for their clients check that off that's happening you have banks all around the world whether it's Panko Santander the news that came out today which is I wanted to cover this is Deutsche Bank is applying for a license to custody digital assets for their customers and then there and the third thing which has been like the big news of this year is the BlackRock spot Bitcoin ETF or now I would even I wouldn't even call it the BlackRock just a Bitcoin spot ETF those are the three things that Michael Saylor said needed to happen in order for Bitcoin to just go parabolic into this five million you know etc etc and those things are basically already happening like the FASB check that off right that was a huge does a massive deal so check that off the list that doesn't start that doesn't start going into action until the year 2025 then you have so that's the FASB ruling then you have banks large banks cussing Bitcoin check that off the list as well really the only thing out of those three things is the BlackRock spot ETF or sorry the spot I keep saying BlackRock maybe it's a Freudian slip the spot Bitcoin ETF how long will Gary Gensler be able to delay this he got absolutely hammered in in Congress there was a hearing this week so yeah I mean this is pretty crazy and it's really interesting if you've been here for a while you know Opti and I are class of 2016 Opti's class of 2017 but it's the same epoch really you know one of the narratives that existed when Bitcoin was falling you know it fell from 20k back down to 3k and one of the coping narratives all the way down was the institutions are coming the institutions are coming the institutions are coming I think you could say without a doubt that the institutions are here you can't deny that now the thing is do the institutions have the necessary infrastructure to onboard on to Bitcoin and I think that's an open question but you can't deny that the institutions want exposure to Bitcoin that's undeniable right we broke the news the other day that BlackRock had a lot of micro strategy had a lot of exposure to public to publicly traded Bitcoin mining companies as well right so it's some very interesting stuff now here's the thing though right so yes this number go up whoop -dee -doo but remember the revolution is individuals taking back financial sovereignty by taking Bitcoin into self -custody so just because you're buying a Bitcoin spot ETF for BlackRock's Bitcoin spot ETF do Charles Schwab or Robin Hood or whatnot that that isn't real Bitcoin that's paper Bitcoin that's an IOU the only way that you get true real Bitcoin is by you know buying Bitcoin earning Bitcoin mining Bitcoin and taking that said Bitcoin into cold storage right and then preferably the step after that is stop trusting someone else's copy of the blockchain run your own run your own node the one I recommend personally because it's the one I use is start 9 they're freaking awesome so definitely check them out if you're interested in running a Bitcoin node but yeah it's a very interesting times that we're living in but uh you know I don't think I've ever been so bullish how you doing Opti and we're in the the simply Bitcoin merch today bro you're modeling I love it yeah yeah it's uh it's raining right now it's it's officially hoodie season so you're raining but you're inside yeah whatever I feel like wearing a hoodie today if it's nice it's comfy I'm wearing this all the time get yourself one at simply Bitcoin calm yeah man it's hey let your boy live for once geez yeah crazy you're not in uniform bro you you went from collared shirts to hoodies what happened you're regressing well suits coming soon I had a conversation with Chris yesterday I missed that episode man I love Chris shout out the coin shout out our boys over a Bitcoin mag but yeah crazy uh crazy developments and we really talked about it yesterday as well pretty pretty extensively on the show of how it is undeniable that the institutions want your Bitcoin there is so much institutional investment and there's just so much capital waiting on the sidelines for everyone for to get a shirt into Bitcoin you know like all the biggest asset managers well not all of them but many of the big asset managers of the world are looking to get exposure to Bitcoin we're seeing huge banks do the same thing and it just goes to show you that you guys are early and we are on the precipice of an amazing bull run as far as I'm concerned and now is the time to be stacking sats it's still what 26k so like we got the best opportunity ever and I know everyone is losing their mind because this bear market's been so long but this is where legends are made anyways on today's culture I saw this a couple tweets from Tom Luongo and if you guys aren't familiar with him he's a great I guess you call him like he is kind of low -key a gold bug and I know he's kind of maybe loosely understands Bitcoin but he created this meme in and I really wanted to touch on it today because it kind of changed my views on what we've been talking about we're always talking about you know the normies out there or in the not so nice way you know the sheeple out there and he coined this new phrase about like the masses comfortable are our wolves and I really want to cover this because I think it does change the framing and it's a little more positive view on what's going on in the world and we talk about it constantly that people need to feel pain and once they feel that pain and they wake up man shits gonna get really crazy and it really does feel like this is where we are right now so you know just prepare yourself it's it's you know are we on the precipice of a global recession who knows are we you know are we currently in a depression I don't know the official numbers are lying to us but we know that inflation is higher than they want and your purchasing power is going down the drain and I have these conversations with a bunch of my Bitcoin friends and we're all feeling the same thing it's like man dude things are getting more expensive and it's only a matter of time until people start to ask what the hell is going on right now and this is why we keep planting the seeds here on the show you know in personal conversations with people in real life and it's like we have built the foundation for people to protect themselves to get on the exit boat get on the safety net which is Bitcoin so get on the Bitcoin standard guys get on the Bitcoin standard that's right just get on the Bitcoin standard get on the life raft and you know you be watching the world around you doing doing its thing but you know that your future your family's future your wealth your time your energy your work is protected by the largest decentralized computing sorry I'm laughing at the chat you guys are wild breath the Bitcoin numbers is your Bitcoin in cold storage really secure is your seed phrase really secure stamped seeds do -it -yourself kit has everything you need to hammer your seed words into commercial grade titanium plates instead of just writing them on paper don't store your generational wealth on paper papers prone to water damage fire damage you want to put your generational wealth on one of the strongest metals on planet earth titanium your words are actually stamped into this metal plate with this hammer and these letter stamps and once your words are in they aren't going anywhere no risk of the plate breaking apart and pieces falling everywhere titanium stamp seeds will survive nearly triple the heat produced by a house fire they're also crush proof waterproof non -corrosive and time proof all things that paper is not allowing you to huddle your Bitcoin with peace of mind for the long haul stamp your seed on stamped seed that's right ladies and gentlemen don't put yourself in a position where you have to explain to your grandchildren while you lost your generational wealth because you decided to store it on paper store your generational wealth on titanium one of the strongest metals on planet earth you could scan the QR code on your screen right now to take you directly to stamp seed website use promo code simply get 15 % off at the time of recording the Bitcoin price is twenty six thousand six hundred and forty sats per dollar three thousand seven hundred fifty four block height eight hundred thousand eight hundred and seven thousand six hundred fifty blocks to having thirty two thousand three hundred and fifty having estimate April 22nd 2024 total lightning Network capacity four thousand seven hundred seventy six Bitcoin capacity value a hundred and twenty seven million US dollars realized monetary inflation 1 .75 % the market capitalization of Bitcoin five hundred and nineteen billion dollars with a B Bitcoin versus gold market cap four point zero seven percent very very very nice all right good numbers overall you know I love my favorites that I always tell you guys this is the realized monetary inflation of Bitcoin 1 .75 % that number is going to continue to go down forever so it continues to take fiat currencies absolute school even if they get it to their targeted Holy Grail 2 % inflation you know it's not even gonna come close anyways I do have some ways you got my favorite number is block height cuz that number is going up forever Laura that that that number just it just makes an all -time high every ten minutes the matter what next block it's almost like a coin walk next block anyways here's a clip I have two clips for you guys here's a clip from SEC chair chair Gary Gensler and he said some interesting things at the hearing we're gonna play you some clips of this hearing as the days go by though so let's check out this clip and I have another one then we'll talk about it and help protect Americans from the crypto abuses that cost consumers billions if they were to live up to the investor protection built into their current laws it would help investors but right now unfortunately there's significant non -compliance and it's a field which is rife with fraud abuse and misconduct and help protect Americans from the so I I want a friend two things right I agree in a way and I agree in the sense that it is full of fraud it is full of abuse it is full of misconduct now the initial part and help protect Americans from the crypto abuses that cost consumers billions I'm gonna reframes that right from the crypto abuse that cost consumers billions fine you could say shit coins you could say this what about from the governmental inflationary abuse that cost people all around the world millions if not billions of dollars why is that never talked about and that brings me to one of Tucker's episodes that he did in Argentina he did an episode about a 10 -minute episode covering what's happening in Argentina he's gonna cover he's gonna interview Javier Maly Javier Maly is he is he's a hardcore Austrian economist libertarian he wants to end the central bank you know he wants to cut down on the administrative state all of that stuff he said some pretty crazy stuff not gonna lie Tucker's gonna interview him tomorrow but what was really interesting about Tucker's opening monologue which we're going to cover extensively tomorrow is he said the quiet part out loud the invade and inflation is deft politicians aren't productive the way that they raise money is through direct taxation but they could only do that for so long until people revolt so they do that through the hidden tax of inflation we must continue to chip away at this like you know peacefully of course but Chico chip away at this move the Overton window start get start getting people to ask the question what is money why does my money lose purchasing power is it necessary for my money to lose purchasing power that's when people are gonna start asking really big questions and remember they do not have a response to this anyways talking about shifting the Overton window here's Joe squawk five years ago you would have never have believed this we did have a a Bitcoiner who was a writer for Forbes and he got a bit upset when I said that the legacy corporate media changed their tune because of the black rock spot ETF and he said no that's not true I was working at Forbes from before okay I take his word for it he's a cable are news you trying to tell me that the interest from black rock to launch a spot ETF has not influenced their change of tune whatsoever I don't know about that anyways here's Joe squawk it's about a one -minute clip and then we'll talk about it and move on to crypto if you'd indulge me for a second because we always have these crypto conversations and there seems to be this thing happening I don't know Joe we were talking about $25 ,000 with Bitcoin meanwhile black rock and all these folks all the folks that we thought were never gonna do this are now doing it and yet it's not moving at all well it's moving today well I mean sure 26 this is 26 it was for when when we started saying it wasn't going anywhere 4 ,000 oh okay but so but the question is is this now a risk on a risk off thing what do you how do you even correlate this to what's happening with the Fed because for a long time used to talk about crypto in regard to the Fed so I think crypto settling as part of the ecosystem I think people have recognized it is not the new global currency people have also recognized not going to disappear tomorrow is becoming institutionalized and I think actually if I were a crypto person I think this maturation process is a good thing where it moves from day to day is I can't really comment on that I still think it's outperformed every asset one year five year and ten year I mean I think I think he's pretty jaded a little bit right like you know it's going to zero at 4 ,000 and mind you like Pete Russo does a great job doing this but like he goes back in time and finds like original posts of people which is why it's so important to zoom out when in doubt of people posting a Bitcoin isn't going anywhere and Bitcoin was at like $100 Bitcoin was at like $200 at the time right so like when in doubt zoom out obviously Joe is completely converted he's like why have we been talking about the short -term volatility when we started when we started covering this it was literally at $4 ,000 it's at 26 ,000 at the at the you know depths of bear market he gets it I mean and this is actually one of the things that has helped me orange pill as many people as possible it hasn't been me saying the bitcoins better money it hasn't been me saying like oh look you know separate money from state hasn't been me saying you know it's a deflationary currency blah blah blah blah blah blah you know it's been the biggest converter of people you plant the seed you say Bitcoin right they ignore you for like a couple of years and two three years later pass number goes up and all of a sudden you get that text from that friend that you haven't talked to you in a long time and he's like hey about that Bitcoin thing ng you is the biggest converter of people it is the biggest orange pillar in my opinion is the most effective way and clear you could see that with Joe right he was like hmm yeah I mean we started covering this was at 4k I don't know why you're talking about the short -term volatility what the hell's wrong with you anyways why are you pulling that up Opti oh it's from wine it's from wine anyways why what's why you know all the disgrace you've ever done and all the controlling calling me why it might be the worst no I'm just trolling love you wine anyways first and foremost you know shout out the Joe Kernen absolutely love to see him just constantly battle the corporate BS FUD around Bitcoin and and I say this all the time you know like number go up love it or hate it is the fundamental thing driving all a Bitcoin adoption there's that and then on the negative side all of the crazy stuff coming out from you know the bureaucrats out there we covered the g20 stuff where they're trying to roll out a digital ID CBDC central bank digital control mechanisms and these two things together are in my opinion the driving forces for Bitcoin adoption it's like you we say it all the time and and the memes been catching on Nico I don't know if you've been seeing it on Twitter but Bitcoin is slavery it's starting to catch on and people are starting to notice that it's not even hyperbolic anymore but anyways starting with the first video I totally agree with that congressman or whatever like crypto is full of fraud like what a hundred percent agree hence why we're Bitcoin only like there's Bitcoin and there's shit coin and it triggered the thought in my mind about I think I brought it up last week it was the idea I forget what video it was but we played something on in the numbers about the the scene versus the unseen consequences of economics and it's very clearly visible the scene consequences of crypto scams and it very easily noticed and you know it's always rolled out as like the detriment to the whole Bitcoin industry and those are the scene consequences obviously there's been a lot of people getting rug pulled getting you know losing their their life savings because of shit coin scams and so it's very easily an emotional thing you can roll out so people are like ah let's protect the little guy but as we've going to cover and I really thought you were gonna play that Tucker Carlson video that you put on your Twitter I'm sick dude I mean so I was divided I was divided about what I wanted to make the show I was like I was like are we gonna make it about Tucker are we gonna make this about the sailor I think the sailor thing I was I was much more excited about the sailor thing it's a little little thing came out in my head I'm like holy cow the three things that Michael sailor said needed to happen for Bitcoin to hit five million all of those things have happened they've all happened right so I was like we have to cover this we will cover Tucker tomorrow's really actually made a thumbnail for everything it was awesome but I guess I guess you know we'll put we'll put a pin on that thought but tomorrow remember we're gonna be talking about the unseen consequences of money printing and that always gets obfuscated it always gets lost on people because it's not like a linear connection you know like you you gotta you know there's some nuance to this and most people can't think past like 20 seconds you know ADHD or whatever like we're all being inundated with so much dopamine from from social media that we either tune out or it just like it doesn't seem like it's important and and I can see people in the chat saying the same thing that we always hear is like once you start talking about Bitcoin once you say the B word people instantly tune out and it's only a matter of time until people wake up to what's going on here so you know plant those Bitcoin fundamentals into people's minds without using the B word usually helps and and goes a long way and then you find like hey you know have you heard about Bitcoin here's the pill take it but yeah man it just it just goes to show that the world is waking up and every metric that I'm seeing is pointing towards the fact that I think in 2025 more people are going to wake up to the scam that is Fiat and of course the safety boat that is Bitcoin and hey we're here for it so I'm I am super excited yes yes hold on hold on Arthur you can buy our merch with Bitcoin if you so want to yeah exactly go and go click scan the QR code it'll take you directly to the website and you could you could pay you pay in Bitcoin I think a lot I think wine set up the lightning yeah yeah yeah we got you got we got you guys back we got you guys rep some simply Bitcoin merch anyways so yeah man it's a really really exciting stuff alright guys let's jump into the news we got a lot to cover today before we get into news actually right now we are currently sitting pretty at 70 likes help us maintain our streak let's break a hundred likes within the out first hour of the live stream so if you're enjoying the show make sure to smash that like but it smashes mess mess wait wait wait can we do a legacy smash the like button Nico something like that anyways guys let's get to the news the daily news I want to give a shout out to our sponsor foundation devices it's self -custody done right they built a premium grade hardware wallet called passport right here in the u .s.

A highlight from HUGE WIN, Spot Bitcoin ETF Approved!? | EP 812
"It's all going to zero against Bitcoin. It's going up forever more. Bitcoin! You're against Bitcoin. You're against freedom. So, as I was telling my co -host today, Ruston, we're definitely less poor today, guys, but we don't have a timeline on what's going on. We don't have an idea of when this next move happens, but this is a step closer to the world, slowly paving a way for mountains of capital to get into Bitcoin. So absolutely love to see it. But of course, we tell you guys every single day, take Bitcoin into sellout and custody, avoid the paper Bitcoin. But this is one of the good things about this court ruling. And we'll give you all the receipts. We'll give you guys the takes that people thought this was going to be instantaneous GBTC conversion into a spot ETF. So we got a bunch of receipts for you guys today. I got a bunch of threads. I got a bunch of takes from Bitcoiners. We even got a Bloomberg article to cover this stuff. And we're going to give you guys the sauce today, guys. But first and foremost, obviously, this is great to see because we know that a spot Bitcoin ETF is inevitable. It's not about if, it's about when. And it looks like today that we are moving closer. We're inching closer to a spot Bitcoin ETF. Anyways, welcome to Simply Bitcoin. We are your number one source for the peaceful Bitcoin revolution. We cover breaking news, culture and memetic warfare. We bring on Bitcoiners from all around the world, from the biggest names to everyday Bitcoiners. We got them all, guys. And we will be your guide through separation of money and state. And of course, I'm not alone today. I do have my cohost, Rustin. Rustin, how are you doing this morning? Before we get into what you're going to do on the culture, because I had to switch it up on Rustin this morning. He was going to cover the news, but there's this grayscale news drop. So he's going to go in culture today. But Rustin, what's your thoughts this morning? And what are we covering on culture? Yo, shout outs to Paul Revere. It looks like the institutions are coming. Big dub today. Major pump. Things are looking good. But I'm here to talk about, we had the longest bear market in Bitcoin history. And it was actually the most bullish bear market in history. And I'm going to tell you why. Lots of amazing developments. We had a long time to stack some extra sets and front run Larry Fink and Grayscale and all those guys. So make sure you do not miss out on that opportunity. Stack those bad boys. We're going to run through it. And of course, Opti's got all the ins and outs of the grayscale Bitcoin trust this morning. The hype train has left the building. We died for the 300th time and that zombie Bitcoin ain't going nowhere, baby. The hopium is strong this morning. And as the saying was, and we've been telling you guys this for a minute on the show, what's the classic cliche meme about trading? Time in the market beats time in the market. When it's blood on the streets, even if it's your blood, that's when you buy. Especially if you have any understanding about the Bitcoin price, it's usually sideways or maybe down. And then there's days when it just pumps and it goes absolutely nuclear. So are we in the beginning of this? Who knows? We'll probably crab market, but it is looking for bullish all of you guys out there. Anyways, let's get into the show.

A highlight from Blackrock Increases Bitcoin Stack | EP 811
"You You're against freedom Good morning everybody. We are back. What a weekend. We were in Austin all weekend. But anyways anyways Crazy stuff happening BlackRock increases their Bitcoin exposure But not in the way that everyone thought there was some speculation on the timeline on BlackRock stacking But they are getting exposure in every way possible Recent news shows that they've been buying a bunch of public mining company stocks So we're gonna get into all that news and then of course we just came back from Austin We were in BitBock boom so awesome to see all you guys in the flesh Hang out with Bitcoin family members as I like to call them friends acquaintances new faces old faces It was a great weekend and we streamed the whole thing live on YouTube I think it's on the Swan and the Gary's BitBock boom channel so if you want to catch all that we got it all recorded for you on the YouTube verse, but The reason I bring that up not only because we had a great time but there was another conference that happened over the weekend It wasn't by Bitcoiners though. It was by your favorite central bankers out there in Jackson Hole, Wyoming So I'm gonna kind of contrast the two we have the Bitcoin BitBock boom conference in Austin And then we have the central bankers meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming So, I don't know I thought it's very fitting that the two happen on the same weekend and we'll see the difference between The fiat monetary policy handlers and the Bitcoiners and the energy coming out of there You just love to see the contrast and of course guys also as you can tell I'm hosting the show today I will actually be hosting the show till probably Wednesday Nico has some family stuff that he has to take care of so send some thoughts and prayers over to Nico He will be back in a couple of days, but you guys know the show don't stop This is why we've been doing our best To make sure that I handle the show that we're training our boys Dell and Rustin on the show and we even have some people Coming off on the bench. So shouts out to our boy Mike Hobart Cuz we are making sure that the show don't stop for you guys We will continue to give you guys the signal as you guys know, this is simply Bitcoin We are your number one source for the peaceful Bitcoin revolution We cover breaking news culture and memetic warfare and we bring on Bitcoiners from all around the world from the biggest names to the everyday Bitcoiner we got them all and we will be your guide through the separation of money and state, but of course guys I'm not alone. I'm here with my co -host Dell Dell. How you doing this morning, brother? I'm good, but I got a got to do a quick correction to what you said about that other Symposium the the meeting over in Jackson Hole. You said it wasn't put on by Bitcoiners I'll change that too. It wasn't put on by Bitcoiners yet Yet they will be just joy just wait given enough time Everybody's gonna come around and see the bright orange light of Bitcoin. It's unavoidable Let's go. Alright guys. Well, let's get into the show. We got a lot to cover today The Bitcoin numbers is your Bitcoin in cold storage really secure is your seed phrase Really secure stamp seeds do -it -yourself kit has everything you need to hammer your seed words into commercial grade Titanium plates instead of just writing them on paper. Don't store your generational wealth on paper Papers prone to water damage fire damage. You want to put your generational wealth on one of the strongest metals on planet earth? titanium your words are actually stamped into this metal plate with this hammer and these letter stamps and once your words are in they Aren't going anywhere. No risk of the plate breaking apart and pieces falling everywhere Titanium stamp seeds will survive nearly triple the heat produced by a house fire They're also crush proof waterproof non -corrosive and time proof all things that paper is not allowing you to huddle your Bitcoin with peace of mind for The long haul stamp your seed on stamps Alright guys, as you know hit the QR code in the bottom and get yourself a seed phrase storage kit Do not leave your Bitcoin seed phrase on paper in your sock drawer Anyways, let's get into some of the numbers here. Of course. We're over here on Clark Moody's dashboard and Our favorite number the block high it keeps going up guys. It's almost like Bitcoin works. It is at eight hundred and five thousand one hundred 82 for the new all -time high of block height the current Bitcoin price is twenty six thousand one hundred and twenty dollars guys We're still in the 26k range Which means you have an opportunity to stack more sets than we did what two weeks ago? Which means the Moscow time aka the sats per dollar aka how much your Fiat dollars worth? It's currently at three thousand eight hundred and twenty Six and I did drop a poll in the chat guys. Are we gonna see 4k sets? I don't know Let's see what you guys think. Let's speculate a little bit in the chat for you guys get you involved Anyways, the total percentage of Bitcoin issued is at ninety two point seven one percent the current market cap in Fiat dollar terms is five hundred and eight point eight billion dollars Bitcoin isn't even at a Trillion -dollar market cap yet. We're a half a trillion Anyways, the realized monetary inflation taking fiat currencies to school was at one point seven five percent and someone asked me on telegram What what does this number mean? It means like even though Bitcoin is hard cap there is a realized monetary inflation until 2140 until the last Bitcoin gets released and That is going to get halved and cut in half in April and actually dealt maybe Can we can we talk about your your dad the little story you just told us in regards to the halving and and this number The monetary or realized monetary inflation. I think this might be an interesting little story, but tldr me I know how you like to talk so tldrs The long and short of it is if you keep on talking To people and you keep on blasting them every time you get on the phone with them about Bitcoin then sooner or later They'll either I guess I guess there's a bit you run the risk of them telling you to never speak again, but Sometimes they might start to see some some of the things they might go. Wait a second so if the halving means that there's less Bitcoin to be found and there's only ever gonna be X amount 21 million and More people want it as time goes on. That means that the price goes up, right? And I'm like like Lavi said that was a tldr of my my conversation with my dad and I said that's exactly what it means There's only so much it's gonna get more and more scarce and the price can only go one way so Yeah, they're waking up. They're be they're noticing people are noticing. Okay last couple numbers We have the Bitcoin verse gold market cap is only currently 3 .96 percent of the gold market cap If you remember gold is I believe around 10 trillion dollars Bitcoin Still less than half a chair above a little more than half a trillion. Anyways, the total lightning capacity is 24 ,746 point nine four BTC the hash rate the last 90 days is 377 point four exa hashes and the pending fees is currently three point one one BTC Okay, guys as I was telling you guys This weekend we had a contrast between two different Conferences we had bit block boom in Austin the Bitcoin maxi conference Well, all your favorite bitcoiners were and we were live streaming from the floor. We were holding down the media desk and we had the central bankers meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and I just I that the irony isn't lost on me that they happen on the same weekend, but you can tell that there is complete difference in Ideologies and the feeling coming out of these conferences and first and foremost I'm pretty sure we played this video for you guys over the weekend on the streams, but I want to play it again Because you can just see not only the hubris of Christine Lagarde, but notice the body language of her Does she really believe what she's saying or is she just saying this stuff just to say it to play the confidence game? And I also got a story or a newsletter article Sorry coming out a couple days later about what was said at the conference And again, we are contrasting this to bitcoins monetary policy because that's what it's all about and remember what Dells dad just said People are starting to wake up. People are starting to notice and they're starting to understand Wow, maybe I want to get some Bitcoin just in case just catches on Anyways, we have a tweet here by Christine Lagarde. She goes hello from the Jackson Hole economic policy symposium I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts and exchanging views with central bankers from around the globe on the very relevant theme of Structural shifts in the global economy Thanks for hosting the event Kansas City Fed. All right, let's just get into this little video notice her body language And what is she even saying here? Anyway, let's get into this to all of you and I would like to share this Magnificent panorama that is behind me. It is the setting of the Jackson Hole conference that takes place every year It is a little bit like the Sintra of the West except it's been around for longer Many central bank governance many academics many experts in monetary policy and on the economy in general Will be gathering for two days and we will talk about the current situation The major shifts that we are seeing the major breaks and how we can best response with good policies That will actually help bring inflation back to 2 % This is the goal. This is the mission. We're not done yet We are working hard But we also have to compare notes and share our views with others so that we can have really the highest level of confidence That we are taking everything into account, but this is a very inspiring place to do it Interesting, okay first and foremost, of course they are still struggling to maintain 2 % inflation rate as we like to call it, you know, the the publicly Acceptable amount a Purchasing power they can steal from you every year is 2 % and they're struggling to get back down as we've been covering for a long time on the show The inflation rate the official inflation rate CPI is nowhere near 2 % It almost got as high as 10 % I think there's somewhere roughly around 3 % right now and they are still working on getting that lower But anyways, let's talk about what they actually talked about or as Christine Lagarde was saying You know share our notes in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, you know It might sound Very very simple very innocent. We're just gonna share our notes so that we know what's going on in the world So we're all on the same page Some might say they're conspiring but hey, let's not go down that path Okay We're over here on Bloomberg and we have an article here and it goes at Jackson Hole post inflation challenges vex central bankers and the subtitle Is pledge policymakers to keep rates high until inflation is tame as you can tell the theme is inflation is not tamed Anyways, let's get into this article and I will jump back and forth on a few different articles from Bloomberg and then of course I am going to angle this in regards to Bitcoin and Bitblock boom that we just all were hanging out with over the weekend in Austin so the world's top central bankers stress the need to keep interest rates high until inflation is contained and Their job harder at an annual Federal Reserve gathering in Jackson Hole Wyoming keynote speeches from Fed chair Jerome Powell and European Central Bank president Christine Lagarde on Friday Laid out the challenges each is facing in deciding if they should extend Historic strings of rate increases that began last year at the same time They offered investors few clues as to whether they would in fact Do so in the coming months and there's a link here and I want to jump on to this other link real quick Because of course as Bitcoiners, we know what our monetary policy is and yet people are still out here Waiting for the people in suits to tell them what is happening with their money Anyways, what are these clues that they're talking about? So Powell has bond traders right where he wants them full of doubt Interesting interesting as we know monetary policy at least in the fiat world is a game of trust a game of confidence and Playing with that confidence they want you full of doubt so you don't know which way they're gonna go Are they gonna pivot are they you know, they're gonna lower rates.

His name is Davin Michaels Davin's an entrepreneur he's a crypto guy and He was on episode number 382 of this podcast a little more than three years ago But you might not know it because he was on the same show as dr. Ron Paul Dr. Paul, of course was the headliner and then there was like oh also Davin and I wanted to give him the spotlight today because we've got a lot of really interesting things to talk about Davin Michaels welcome back to the Republic of bad cryptopia, sir Mr. Joel calm my dear friend of almost 15 years. It's great to be here with you Mika No, I think it might be longer than that. I think it might be too if we had met around 2007 it's it's 16 years. Yeah. Yeah, we just taken it your way for me. I'm sorry about that We just celebrated the 15th year of one to three employee. I was shooting a commemorative video for our employees So that's 15 years there Wow And for those of you watching the video version on YouTube rumble or Odyssey that is a real background Davin lives really a big stones throw away from me right on the harbor here in Palma still Mar and It's a beautiful day. It's a hot day But you know, what's mind -boggling to me is here We are closer than the rest of the states to the equator and they've been having a worse heat wave Then we've been having yeah, not too bad here. Not too bad. Nice breeze Beautiful paradise all year long. Yeah So for those of you that really want to go deep on the Puerto Rico connection and the tax benefits I recommend you go back to the episode. We recorded three years ago. It's bad co dot in 382 we'll have that in the show notes for this particular episode as well But I want to touch on it Devon before we get into some other things today Including we're gonna be talking about so you guys want to stay tuned for this an interesting opportunity To go on a cruise with us in April. That's a little teaser for you let's let's start out with the overarching benefits of why Americans are moving to Puerto Rico Yeah, absolutely so Puerto Rico is a territory and if you are a u .s Citizen and you jump through the legal hoops and you make Puerto Rico your legal home In other words, you live here at least half the year then you essentially pay almost no tax So we pay four percent federal income tax We pay zero percent capital gains We pay zero percent in dividends and it is truly a game -changer a dear friend of both yours and mine and neighbor of So many years John Lee Dumas who is an unbelievably successful podcaster JLD always says I work 4 % of the year for the federal government and 96 % of the rest of the year for myself. He said he works the first couple of weeks of the year for the government then that's it and That's that's a big game -changer. So we lived in LA where we were paying I don't know between You know corporate and federal and state and I think I was paying about 63 % in taxes and it was just absolutely ridiculous And so we first moved to Vegas got rid of the state tax and then eventually moved here and got rid of most of it But there's so many more benefits, too So for example, one of the greatest benefits is is deal flow and you were talking about that a few minutes ago The amazing people you meet here because you got to be a mover and shaker to do this You know, you you have a tax situation, right? You need to save money. You're doing well in addition to that To pick up and move to a territory You have to be a pioneer which you are such a pioneer and you you and I both have that pioneering spirit as does Everybody over here. And then what happens is you have to spend at least a half a year in paradise. It just sucks Right. I mean look at this. It's just so hard, you know, so it's gorgeous here all year long There's great food great people and the actual people who live in Puerto Rico actual Puerto Ricans Are some of the loveliest people in in the world. They will just give the shirt off their back for you They are so nice. So wonderful and I'll give you an example You just walk down the street and people are saying good day to you. Good day. Good day Good day. Well, we leave we travel and and people aren't speaking to us like saying like greeting us on the street We're like gosh, you know you get used to this, right and then we greet people and they look at us like we're crazy But there's also a lot more benefits than just tax benefits. So so the way all this works is Puerto Rico is a territory. They have their own tax authority and it's not the IRS It's hacienda. And so if you're a bona fide resident of Puerto Rico, that's who you're paying your taxes to you're letting the IRS Know what you're up to but you're paying hacienda And there's all these other programs that are available to they used to be a whole bunch of different acts They've now put them under an umbrella called act 60 when Joel and I got into this It was called act 2022 and we were just two of those acts but now act 60 brings them all together and Just to give you some examples of some of these acts I have a car that is a plug -in hybrid It only gets 19 miles on a charge. Okay, it's just it's just a token thing But because it has a plug I was able to import it here tax -free and save 30 % in taxes There's an entertainment tax here. My cousin Danny was just here shooting a Pilot for Amazon. She got a 40 % tax break of which you can you know cash in that tax break at 97 and 19 to 99 cents on the dollar so it's essentially cash back There is a hospitality credit if you have like an Airbnb that has at least I think it's seven or eight beds and baths You get 40 % back over four years Many of you who might live in the u .s. Might be familiar with Opportunity zones where you get amazing tax benefits Well, 98 % of this entire island is an opportunity zone and this list just goes on and on I learn about all these new incentives all every day and I don't know all of them But in a few minutes, we're gonna talk about one way that I'm gonna both you and I are gonna learn all about them And by the way, Joel My guess is you don't know about all of them either. No, I don't I know, you know act 60 That's that's what I'm here on and it's you know, what you say is so true I came for the tax breaks. Yeah, and I did have friends already. I knew you and I knew JLT and Had visited in fact I think that we you're recording the last time you were on the show was when I first visited you In February 2020 the episode came out the the following month and we were going to move Yeah that May and then kovat hit and everything became more complicated and we put it off for another year But I'm really glad that I pulled the trigger when I did I came for the tax breaks But I'm staying for the community I have never in my life and I'm approaching 60 ever nor in a community like this of high performers of creative people of good hearted people and you have everything in where we live in Palma del Mar from Thousandaires to billionaires and from hanging out with people you wouldn't know the difference of who you're hanging out with Because it seems like the egos are largely checked at the gate and people were all here kind of for the same reasons Yeah, it's a yeah for sure. Sorry to interrupt. It's but yeah, it's like kind of a flip -flop and t -shirt community, right? So how are you gonna be flexing? You know what I mean? So it's nice. It's nice people do check their egos at the door I think for the most part there's all of these Groups that were in and signal and what's happened. There's always something going on You know, I've become a pickleball enthusiast since I've moved here. Erin is a big golf Enthusiast and you know, we we live on the golf course So holes five and six of the palms course are right behind our condo And the beach is right outside the door. And so it's just there's always something to do We're going somewhere tonight. Are you are you joining us tonight? What's going on tonight? I don't know Okay Yeah, check check with your social director. I'll check with mine. Yeah, but Like you said I've never experienced anything like it except on like television, right? These little you know, these TV shows that take place in this little small town Everybody knows each other and they're all like best homies, but I've never experienced in real life until moving to Puerto Rico I think part of it is you know when you're in the city like we came from Denver To somebody's orchestrate calendar with yours in multiple couples calendars to get together. It's a big deal It's an event here. There's so many people and so many friendly people that it's like hey, what are you doing for dinner tonight? Hey, we're having you know karaoke at our place this weekend we're going to the beach club on Sunday and and people just continue to get together to the point where We have now had to since we've been here vacations with Groups people of from here So we basically just pack up Puerto Rico and we put it on a cruise ship and take it on the road and we'll talk A little bit more about that here soon. By the way, are you going to Rustin's a rip your float party tomorrow? Yes, I am But we have another party simultaneously, so we're gonna be jumping back and forth So Let's you know, we kind of hit on the governmental programs the things that are available here And we'll try and find a website for you guys that has all of the different acts so that you can take a look at Those let's talk a little bit about some of the the services on the island and the things that people are working on Yeah, so what's interesting is well, okay. So let me start with my own personal experience. So I always I Felt that when we came here we were gonna approach this as we are a guest in this Territory and and so I don't you know, try to push my opinions or agenda on anybody and My goal was to make this place a better place than when I got here Right to make a difference and make an impact and I like I kind of an impact jump junkie so I really like that and a lot of people are doing the same thing here and You know, you could you could actually come here and say I'm not gonna do any of that I don't want to have any impact I'm just gonna do my time and so on and so forth and you would still impact the economy because you'd hire a ton of people to help you with a bunch of different stuff and you put a lot of money into the economy and so I'm involved in a lot of projects here One of my favorites is I am a member of PMPR partnership for modern Puerto Rico which is the think tank that was created by Alberto backo who's the former secretary of commerce to Puerto Rico and He actually if you came in on our program act of 2022 several years ago He would have signed the decree because it was he and his regime if you will that that that ushered in act 2022 And it has had such a huge impact on the on this island So many things are happening I'll give you an example in this enclave that we all live in There has not been new development here in two decades in 20 years because it was overbuilt in the heyday prior to 2008 Now there's new construction here And people are benefiting one of the things that is included in the act 60 program not in my decree But in the current decree is that you have to buy a property within two years You can come here you can rent a place.

I'm in the surf, bro. Yeah. Hey, you called it today and dude, special day today. My buddy's getting me on the Marine base at Pendleton, so I'm surfing a very special treat. Yesterday, though, I did not surf. I was in attendance in full. The wife's like, why aren't you surfing? I'm like, I'm part of the Cafe Bitcoin crew now. And also I beat Waldo to the space. And she's like, have a great day. She's probably like, OK, cool. How much are you getting paid for that, bro? She's probably like, yeah, today my husband told me he beat Waldo to a space. Everything is well. Fantastic. All right. Welcome to Cafe Bitcoin episode 404. Our mission for this show is to provide the signal in a sea of noise, teach the other seven billion people on this planet why there is hope because of this bright orange future that we call Bitcoin. Today, we are going to be discussing. World coin, I can't even say that without laughing. It's so ridiculous. Yellen's had some comments on the Fitch downgrade that she thinks it's maybe a little unfair, so we're going to talk about that a little bit. There are some updates on the Bitcoin ETF as well as maybe we'll hit some Q &A today if we've got some time to do that later in the second hour of the show. We've got Jason Meyer coming up. He's the author of a progressive case for Bitcoin. And very interesting guy. He'll be joining us to talk about his new book. And why he wrote it, et cetera. All right, let's dig in. So. World coin says it will allow companies, governments, et cetera, to use its ID system. Oh, my gosh, how can that be? No, exactly like. This is a shocking development. I know this is tough to tough to, you know, believe, but it's happening. Isn't that a rug pull? Didn't they say they weren't going to do that? It's pretty creepy. Have you seen these? I've seen pictures of them. I saw this picture of apparently the government of Kenya, like, halted it cold. And there was a picture of like this guy holding the orb and people are like looking into it. It's just so damn creepy. Michelle Weekly, who's down in the audience, held one. Really? Michelle, throwing you an invite. You should come up here and share your experience. All right, so. The general manager for Europe at Tools for Humanity. Uh. Says we are on this mission of building the biggest financial and identity community that can. It's very strange. Michelle, good morning. Good morning, guys. It is unfortunately true. I did hold one at the mining disrupt conference in Miami last week. I did not let it scan my eyeball. So they were not enough, I don't know if you, I'll just give you like the quick rundown of what happened at the conference because there's been a lot of tweets about it, but they were not an official sponsor of mining disrupt. A lot of people were upset online that the conference would have let them sponsor, but they didn't. They just kind of squatted. They came in at the end of day two and they were only there for a couple hours. I was actually sitting, listening to a panel and people started texting me. Hey, is it true that world coin is there? Can you go find them? So I looked at some of the pictures and went and found they were like squatting at Q coins booth and the guy who I posted some pictures of him. He's super, he looks exactly how you would think that he would look. He left the orb sitting there and went to like wander around. So a bunch of us were picking it up, looking at it, taking pictures and everyone was really disappointed that it didn't get smashed, but it all happened really quick. He was only there for about an hour. And so, you know, we didn't know like, was he standing by watching? I mean, as great as it would be to smash the thing, I think it would have been smashed if he'd been there for two full days, but it all happened really quick in about an hour. So I held it. It's super creepy. He was super creepy. A couple of people talked to him. He seemed to genuinely believe all the things that they were saying, which is disappointing, but not surprising.

On the Night of February 2nd, 1959, Something Terrible Happened...
"Of history's greatest mysteries is the 1959 Dyatlov Pass incident, which cost the lives of nine cross -country skiers. Today a variety of theories are put forth, including monstrous snowmen, UFOs, covert Soviet military experiments, scientific concepts, and even an avalanche. Everyone gets a chance to suggest a solution and everyone gets a chance to be incorrect. They can all agree simply that on that night of February 2nd, 1959, something terrible happened. To recap, an intended 200 -mile expedition through the Ural Mountains in the old Soviet Union gave way to the tragedy. The party of seasoned hikers, including a 37 -year -old instructor and nine students in their 20 seconds from the Ural Polytechnic Institute, was led by 23 -year -old Igor Dyatlov who handpicked a team of nine other experienced hikers and outdoorsmen to accompany him. The only women were Lyudmila Dubinina, 20, and Zineda Kolmogorova, 22. Lyudmila majored in finance, whereas Zineda studied radio engineering. Yuri Doroshenko, 21, and Yuri Yudin, 22, were both economics students. Nuclear physics student Alexander Kolvetov was 24 years old. 23 -year -old engineering students Yuri Krivonashenko, Rustin Slobodin, and Nicholas Thaibakse Brignol joined in lastly. Simon Zolotaryov, a sports instructor and World War II veteran who was 38 years old. On January 23rd, 1959, the group set out on their expedition. One student had to return home early owing to illness, while the others continued their walk to Kalatsyaks, where they would camp out for the night. Igor Dyatlov had previously agreed to inform the UPI Sports Club as soon as his team arrived at their base without incident on or about February 12th. No one was initially worried when they didn't arrive back on schedule.

Whether you're buying a house or selling a house or want to, um, buy a vacation property or remodel or downsize or I mean, there's so many options, giving us so many ideas. Julia, I think I really thinking about it because home values have never been higher in the twin cities. People have never had as much equity as they have now. As a result of that. And wondering, Should I sell now? Should I? But what would I buy? Where would I go? Lots of decisions or do I need? You know, I racked up a lot of debt during this last year, and I want to consolidate that whatever your options are and wherever you are at In your mortgage life.

"This is here and now Prosecutors in Kenosha, Wisconsin, will not file charges against the officer who shot and paralyzed Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Blake was shot last summer, three months after a police officer killed George Floyd in neighboring Minnesota. And these two cases became a flash point that sparked a wave of protests throughout the world. And for more on this decision we have with us Angelina Mosher Salazar, a reporter. With w U W M welcome, Angelina. Hello, Tanya. You were there yesterday when the district attorney announced he would not file charges against this officer Rustin Chesky. Video of the shooting was widely shared, and it appears to show the officer shooting Blake seven times. Is Blake tries to get into his car. What do we know about how the prosecutor came to this decision? Mm. The district attorney in this case would say that the disturbing video footage you and I and many others saw was only part of the story D a gravely says he conducted an extensive investigation and after looking at the full body of evidence, he essentially determined that the officer acted in self defense. No, I do want to make an important note here in Kenosha. Police officers do not wear body camera footage, so the footage that was widely circulated was taken from a bystander who was across the street filming the incident. Mm hmm. And Wisconsin law holds that officers can shoot if they have if they have reasonable belief that firing is necessary to protect themselves. Blake's father Yeah. Blakes Father has asked for Kenosha to stand up and make noise about this decision. How are people in Kenosha responding to this news? What's the sentiment? Well, there's certainly are mixed emotions both strongly critical and serve and supportive of the decision. But I don't think anyone can say that this was a surprise. I had one woman message me and say. You know, we knew that this was coming. But it still hurts. And Tanya, you mentioned Jacob Lake's father, and he's certainly says that this is not the end that the next step for him is Congress, where he will actively be lobbying to change laws that he sees protects law enforcement officials. Theo FBI also has opened a civil rights investigation which remains open. So what's next for this officer? Yeah, it's a federal investigation is underway. But important to note. Also what ongoing are federal investigations into arson, rioting and other crimes that occurred in Kenosha this past August, so we will know definitively what will be the outcome of those investigations until they are completed. But as for officers Chesky, the officer who shot Jacob Lake multiple times in the back and who has also been employed by the Kenosha Police Department for seven years, we know that he was placed on administrative leave after the shooting. At this point, we're not certain if he will be brought back onto active duty, and if so, when One other thing with the 30 seconds I have with you, a teenage gunman named Kyle written house that we know about turned up at the protests and shot and killed two people. He's currently free on bail. What's next in his case? Tanya When it rains, it pours. Yesterday We had the arraignment in his case where he is being charged for killing two people and seriously injuring another person to those charges. He pled not guilty. That's Angelina Mosher Salazar. She's a reporter at W W. M. Angelina. Thank you so much. Thank you, Tommy thistles here now. "America's first news continues its the sixth day of January 34 minutes past the hour on the Wisconsin prosecutors declined to file charges against a white police officer who shot a black man in the back in Kenosha, concluding he couldn't disprove the officers contention that he acted in self defense because he feared the man with stab him. County district attorney and Michael Gravely said. Investigators concluded Jacob Blake was carrying a knife when police responded to a report that he was trying to steal a car officer Rustin Chesky said he quote feared Jacob Blake was going to stab him with the knife. As he tried to stop Blake from fleeing. He shot him seven times in the back, right. I mentioned to you that officer Cesky could see there was a warrant. That's the other large factor in this case. Here's a copy of the warrant that he would have been able that is the cover sheet of that warrant. And I brought the policy of the Kenosha Police department because it's so important that you understand. And I think that it's possible that Noble Wray will speak to this. Officer Cesky in these officers do not have discretion. On something like a felony assaulted warrant like this. When they come across Jacob Lake, they must attempt to arrest him. They don't have other options. They can't say That guy seems like he's going to fight with me. I'm not going to arrest them. There is not discretion in this regard. All right, so sure enough, there is resisting behavior. Right. That is clearly a large portion of this case, and I'm not sure any of that is really displayed on the video that we have all seen in any real way. But there are many commands disobeyed, and that's not only talked about by all the officers, but that's admitted by Jacob Blake and his statements and there are number of civilians who talk about that as well. And there are multiple ways that officers try to bring Jacob Blake into custody again. None of those I think visible in any of the video The decision widely criticized by many public officials and civil rights advocates across the state threatening toe reignite protest that rocked the city after the August 23rd shooting that left Blake paralyzed. Governor Tony Evers, calling the decision quote further evidence that our work is not done and called for people to work together for equity protesters and telling The Associated Press. There were several unbelievable factors to me are it wasn't surprising at all. I mean, mean.

The House and Senate meet in joint session to accept the results of the Electoral College and thereby the election of Joe Biden as the 46th, president of the United States and Kamila Harris as the vice president. It's a ceremony that has recently taken as little as 23 minutes to complete. But this time it could take six hours or it might even stretch into Thursday, joining us now to explain why is NPR's senior editor and correspondent Ron Elving. Hey, Ron. Good to be with. You also get to be with you. So okay. You've seen ah, few of these over the years. Can you tell us why this process is expected to take such a long time? This time around? Two words President Trump. He has refused to concede and insists he won and continues to pressure people to say he won without facts or process or basis in law. So at his urging members of the House and some senators will raise objections at the joint session tomorrow, objecting to counting the results of the Electoral College as officially cast. And certified and reported, or at least those from a few of the swing states. Okay, And I presume these members will be saying that the results reported by the states, or at least some of the states are not legitimate. In a sense, but more specifically, they say that the public or at least some portion of the public no longer has faith in the process. They want to have an emergency commission created to look into the results. To see if there was any fraud. But that has already happened. I mean, the Department of Justice and the FBI and various state agencies. They've all looked into this, and none of them found any basis for questioning the results. That's right. And they have been quite clear about that. And we should note that these agencies at the federal level are led by Trump appointees and at the state level, also often by Republicans, and there have been more than 60 lawsuits in various states trying to get a court to say. It was something wrong here or there, or some significant violation has happened. Those efforts have gone nowhere. Those that reach the Supreme Court were rejected. And again. We're talking here about Trump appointed judges. In many instances, right, Okay, so walk us through what happens tomorrow. They begin at 1 P.m. eastern time, and it's a rather antique procedure that goes back to the Constitution. As amended in 18 04 on revised by law in 18 87. The vice president opens the sealed envelopes a little bit like you see the presenters to with the Oscars or the Emmys, any hands each state's report two tellers who read it out. And at that point if there is a member of the house who objects to a particular state and will probably start with Arizona. That's the third state in alphabetical order. And as one senator Is willing to stand up and say I'm objecting and I've got it here in writing, then the combination of those two people objecting means At the two bodies are going to separate and have two hours of debate and a vote. The Senate goes into its own chamber, and they go at it on their own. And if a simple majority in both bodies votes to reject those electors than those electors are not counted a simple majority in both bodies. What are the chances of that actually happening? In effect zero of the Senate has a Republican majority. But it appears that quite a few of the Republicans are going to be voting against any and all of these objections, and so will all the Senate Democrats and independents. So we're looking at a two thirds majority or more in the Senate. And meanwhile, in the House, the dams have an outright majority without any Republicans. It also that would be that. Okay, so if all of this is likely to fail the objections at changing anything, What's the point? It would seem intended to serve the president's purpose of keeping the election alive. In some people's minds of therefore it is a chance for individual Republicans in the House and Senate to signal their loyalty to him and to his most loyal supporters, who are also often their most loyal supporters who have been led to believe this election was fraudulent. And who can be expected to continue voting in future elections? So ultimately, I mean, just to underline this. None of this will have any effect on who becomes president on January 20th, right? No, not this January, 20th. But it seems several of these senators are very concerned about 2024. Their outreach to Republican loyalists appears very much underway very much underway that is NPR's senior editor and correspondent Ron Elving. Thank you, Ron. Thank you, Elsa. In Kenosha, Wisconsin. "Against Blake and We either armed with are reaching for the knife. This is what apparently led the officer Rustin Chesky to deploy his weapon. Some have questioned why he shot as many times as he did. I believe the count was seven the number of shots that occurred and they all came. From the rear. Now The question that the authorities have to come up with is whether or not This was a criminal use of lethal force is supposed to Proper use of lethal force or, as has been explained repeatedly in here. Perhaps a questionable use by a law enforcement officer, but not criminal. In other words, maybe an officer could have tried to drag him out a little bit longer, and so on. But that doesn't mean that you committed a crime by going to the next step. Many have questioned why none of the other officers fired their weapons. And again. I'm assuming they were all interviewed at length is part of this investigation. So Made the reference Your toe wife. It's actually mother of Chuck, Mother of Blake's Children is the proper term that's been used by the authorities and describing the situation. They had Children together and For that matter. It's considered to be a domestic situation and they had a long term. Relationship. Paul points out that my phone is well, I leave my phone digging during times like this because people are often tipping me off two things. And I just assumed that the audience would rather be learned things that I need to know. Rather than worry about the funding. I I don't need my phone went into this show, but Doesn't think that often, but I get people who tipped me off to stuff all the time. Most of this stuff is Um, can be other stuff. But why is the dinging bother you And you in this? Well, What do you mean? You're making me aware I want I need to hear it. I mean, you want me to not turn the thing off and not know one people. What it often sit here the whole time. I'm doing the show and look at my phone like these people that are driving down the road, do it when their cars That's what Donald Donald. Okay, I'm going to just emulate Dan O'Donnell in the doing of my program. For years. I have allowed my phone to Ding. During the time I've done the show. The only time I would turn my phone office during the times that it is a rush. I didn't want my phone digging during then I couldn't quite frankly don't care if this audience here's my phone digging, and I don't care if you don't like curing my phone digging, and if you've never heard it so much, But that's because people are digging me right and left. There's a couple of other things that are going on. In the community that I let people know about it. But Practice that I've had forever because it's one of the ways that people contact me and let me know about things that are going on anyway. People who will want the officer here to be charged at the same people who rushed to judgment in the case. In Minneapolis with regard to George Floyd. They simply don't like it whenever force or lethal force is used against a criminal suspect. What I have urged people to do in this case is to imagine what would have happened if force was not used. Let's imagine the officers in Kenosha allowed Blake to get into the car and drive off with those kids and he drove off like a bat out of hell, and they were killed. Or they simply drove off. The next thing you know, you're gonna have one of those amber alerts in place for the protection of the Children. First of all, this was not his car. It was the it was apparently the mother's car. Now they probably both have access to the car. They had a long term relationship and so on. But you have a guy that is refusing multiple commands, who already has charges against him for domestic violence with regard to a situation involving the same family members and police officers repeatedly telling him to stop. You can't just drive off. If law enforcement officers they're telling you to stop, even if you have no criminal record at all. If you're on the scene of something in, officers say, Stop, Stop! Stop! Stop! They case you, You keep going, and then you get into a car and then drive off If you're not allowed to do that. Had something terrible occurred in the officers sat around and scratch their rear ends and not done anything to stop them. I'm sure, many of the Monday morning quarterbacks who have condemned the offices here would have condemned them for that. There is, however, a valid question, and I've acknowledged this from the beginning as to whether or not Blake could have been detained without shooting him. Again. I wasn't there and when you only see the tail end of a situation that getting into a car You don't get Full field for this, the fact that they deployed a Taser and that multiple officers weren't able to bring him down. That indicates that this is a guy that was in an incredibly adrenalized state. And was very, very hard to bring under control. Now. It would certainly seem to me that if you had the ability to have everybody jump on him and start whaling away at him so that you could break him. Under control without having to shoot him that that would have been Preferable. I suspect And in the mind of the officer. The knife became A significant defining factor. He now has a lethal weapon in his.
