"The Vatican has said that Pope Francis has skipped meetings because he was running a fever. No details have emerged of how sick Francis was. The last time he spiked a serious fever in March, the 86 year old pontiff was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with acute bronchitis. Why do so many Black women die in pregnancy? For one thing, doctors don't take them seriously
"Black women in the U.S. are nearly three times more likely to die during pregnancy or delivery than any other race, and sometimes it's because of racial bias. Angelica and Anthony alliance are sisters from Birmingham, Alabama, and they both had traumatic pregnancies, Angelica became pregnant in 2019 at her son was due the following January, Angelica, who worked at the university of Alabama at Birmingham, says she experienced severe pain during her pregnancy and in October checked into the hospital affiliated with the university. She says she was treated for constipation but her pain persisted. I got in the bed, I felt this strong pain from vaginal area all the way up to my chest. I screamed. That was literally the beginning of literally them constantly leaving me in pain. Angelica says her pleas for help were shrugged off even after vomiting bile, and she was repeatedly sent home from the hospital because doctors and nurses claimed she was experiencing normal contractions. She says she wasn't taken seriously until a searing pain shot through her body and her baby's heart rate plummeted she was rushed into delivery two months before her due date, Angelica says she was on life support for three days and almost didn't make it. It's scary knowing that I could have died, you know? My mom, my sister, my ex-husband, would have to be, you know, taking care of my son and I wouldn't be. And even in my records, I think they have it down that I have PTSD with that hospital. Angelica lions experience is a reflection of the medical racism bias and inattentive care that many black Americans endure. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that black women have the highest maternal mortality rate in the U.S. 69.9 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2021. That's almost three times the rate for white women and black babies are more likely to die and be born prematurely, setting the stage for health issues that could follow them through their lives, black Americans health issues have long been ascribed to genetics or behavior when actuality and array of circumstances were linked to racism, restrictions on where people could live and a historical lack of access to care, Angelica's sister and Sonia says when it came time for her to have her baby where she developed complications after two previous miscarriages, her doctor referred her to the same hospital where Angelica almost died. My heart kind of dropped when you said because I didn't want to go to that hospital. From which she had already gone through, I was traumatized. Special prosecutor ends Trump-Russia investigation, saying FBI acted hastily
"A special prosecutor as ended his investigation into the FBI's probe of ties between Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign. Donald Trump had predicted John Durham's investigation would uncover the crime of the century, but the four year probe fell far short. Durham did find several missteps saying the FBI rushed the probe into whether the Trump campaign was colluding with Moscow and relied too much on raw and unconfirmed intelligence. But Durham's investigation delivered underwhelming results. Prosecutors did get a guilty plea from a little known FBI employee, but lost to the only two criminal cases they took to trial. Joe Biden then says in the debate, 50 former Intel officials say this is garbage. What you're saying, mister Trump is garbage. Russian disinfo. So he used the line that his handlers gave him that Mike morell helped establish. So straight from the New York Post, the CIA conspired with former acting director Mike morrell and the Biden campaign to produce a letter falsely claiming that emails from Hunter Biden's laptop were Russian disinformation. And solicited signatures from at least one former intelligence official. First Republic's Failure Shows the Limits of Fed Bank Programs
"So heading into the weekend, chatter was plentiful, but solid information was sparse, regarding the resolution of first republic bank. First republic has been in the headlines for months. Their stock has lost 90% of its value this year with a huge amount of that drop happening in the week following the shutdown of Silicon Valley bank. Obviously after SVB, investors looked everywhere for where they thought the next banking domino might come from, and specifically they were looking for these mark to market losses on long-term asset portfolios, right? They were looking to find other banks that might have the same sort of duration mismatch, and interest rate risk that ended up doing in SVB, and first republic was pretty high on the list of contenders. Now, first republic, unlike signature, for example, was allowed to take advantage of federal liquidity programs like the bank term funding program, but it is still been, let's say, wobbly at best ever since. Now, all during last week, there were rumors that first republic would be seized and sold by the FDIC. And yet on Friday, no announcement had been made to that effect, and even late on Sunday, no announcement had been made to that effect. last week had centered around the impossible position that government agencies had found themselves in. You'll remember that a consortium of 11 large banks had already provided a $30 billion liquidity injection in the form of a term deposit that would remain locked in place until July. That deposit was just meant to buy time for first republic, which is now shed 100 billion in uninsured deposits over the last few months, with very few now remaining other than the 30 billion provided by that bank consortium. Having already provided funds that group was now in a position where they might need to bear a loss if the FDIC was required to seize first republic and no additional deposit insurance was approved. And it kind of seemed like the Biden administration wasn't keen to come in and bail out first republic in quite the way that people were expecting. And neither didn't appear to be a massive rush to bring the saga to a conclusion. Instead, it felt kind of like a game of chicken.

I just listen to what the says on television. It's the o'reilly factor has the most knowledgeable audience. Twenty seven percent of the audience or college grads which matt's matches the national average but but only three audiences in the pew survey scored higher on high knowledge. It'll riley and his factor. Tv show regular readers of the new yorker and the atlantic regular rush limbaugh listeners and regular weekly standard new republic readers. I don't know if there's anybody above them. I don't have that because radio and this stuff is not part of the survey at least in the website that i'm reading this from but i have always known it. I have always known that you people are among the most knowledgeable engaged informed and educated people listening to any media in the country today. And i think. I can't. "You know it's just it was just so surreal because we were like we have. We always have rush on the cover and think it was monday. Diana and i had a conversation and we were like you know it's weird. And how we we visualized the limbaugh letter and the whole limbaugh letters written obviously in his words and as i had to kind of rethink that. And it's just you know after thirty years. It's just on imaginable to think about how we could do that. And i have the i have so many amazing memories about him and just hanging out with him and like an. I just didn't see it coming. I really didn't win catherine you know. Even when catherine was talking about it on air. I was just like. Oh my god. I can't i can't and it was. You know we had this issue to get out and we were working full blast and the only thing i kept thinking about is that rush would want me to finish and we have to keep going and we have to keep doing what we're doing and you know that's what we do and so we pulled the pulled the cover and put the alternate on and and we move any. You know we've been moving forward and you know trying to well. Let me tell you something about that. Cover that cover was perfect it. Yeah you know. God is with me. What exact cover was the cover. And i go well. Then i'll have that one. And i love that story because we just we were giggling and it was of him. That was sort of him like he liked to kinda lay a test. You kind of a little bit to see and it was. It was fun we were. That's how we interacted and we had such a good time and remember just enjoying that cigar. And i think i held onto the cigar. I didn't smoke the whole thing. I can smith old thing but like you know holding onto it for a really long time because it was just such a great memory of us all hanging out and having such a good time. Hey rush did you notice that you basically accuse them on television national television of being liars and they didn't defend her and he did what you and i used to call that sponge thing he would look so intently at you when you were talking. He just walked down the hallway to the studio and then he used that as his jumping off point and then a few days later there was the pretty in pink conference because hillary knew she had not been defended by our own people on national tv. and so. He had the ability and even after he lost his hearing. he had the ability to absorb information filter. Into this amazing creative mind he had and be able to transform it and bring it out as the rush take because he would take things that we all would suggest or a line or whatever and he would make it into something miraculous and amazing to watch him. Yes he's talking about this important subject education or whatever it was and then you know the smaller items we could do the news items the funny things as stupid quotes so we try to combine both humor and substance and he always wanted to do original research in the newsletter so it wasn't a duplication of what was on the radio at all right.
