"Horse. I know that it was a bit unexpected, but I thought that's not what we thought it was a proper horse. That was insane. This is Holloway boy. Named after him. Named after the great Ian Holloway. Right? Yeah, no, I thought Carla had a great meat in a sauce, change up line at a great meeting. Danny sodok, winners galore. I thought it was just a brilliant week. Encapsulated everything. That was great about roll Alaska. I was just good at those at all. Yeah. And look, it'll be great to get you back. And then when I asked Lizzie Kelly, who was our color commentator all week, along with play by play commentary, Rupert bell, what was your highlight? She said nature strip and write more. There are more was just a joy to watch. All week. And did you tell her he did write nature for it? That was James McDonald. And he's not happy. Plural James got no love at all. But I mean, look, the other man has to be talked about is a no brain. He's now on, he's now equaled, or he's about to equal sir Michael status record. I think he has equal to doesn't he? He's now an 82. So their level. And he's 52 years of age. That's crazy, isn't it? Unbelievable. I think worries done, but he leaves no stone on turn, does he just perfectionism? And the only man to give him a run at the moment now is too early Applebee's is doing a similar thing but now Aiden's just unbelievable what he does and he does it year in year out and it's just fantastic and the list of names of people he thanks after every winner is getting bigger and bigger as well. It is I'd like to thank Martin for the advice. Thankfully we're doing enough interviews with Aiden where we can try and get back to fighting for a long for the interviews and for all the promotion. Yeah, we will try and sneak on in there. We'll have order Christ and see if we can work that out. But he's an absolutely he's a gentleman. And what I love about him is when it goes wrong, he takes all the blame. It's not Ryan's fault. It's his fault. He takes it all, and when they win, it's a huge thanks to the owners and then he thanks all the staff at home. And for some people, that's a bit tedious. I don't think it is at all. They're working their asses off. As every everybody who works in racing, it's a phenomenal amount of work that you have to do in the industry. And sadly, I'm good friends with trainers who are smaller trainers. And. Without naming any names, there's a number of them who've been speaking to me about the fact that some of their staff have left the industry entirely. And have gone into the service industry. Because there's better pay there. And that's the issue with prize money. That's the real problem with we can paper over the cracks with big big races and lavish events, but ultimately, the prize money is not there. And if it's not there, it doesn't trickle down to all the other trainers and people who have strived all their life to work in the sport, are reluctantly leaving it to go and work in an industry that they don't want to work in, simply because the money is better. And that's depressing. That's a really depressing thing. But tremendous stuff from Aiden and Ryan all week. And it is very difficult to pick out a favorite. Just be before you go the last question for you is we're going back old school. One of my favorite horses was Persian punch. And you had a tremendous relationship with him, and when I think about stairs, I often think of was it the jockey club cop? Was that what was it called? What was the race at newmarket? At the end of the season, you had this epic battle. And you got headed and you and Persian battle back to go and win. I think he was ten at the time. But that race lives long in the memory. He was an absolute superstar. Yeah, I was probably my favorite horse. Had a great relationship with him. I mean, what a horse. He was an artist on bank club, but I think.

"Seconds? Is it all the security do they're able? Was it not? Yes, it was. Yeah, 2019. Yeah, I'm right. It was the one faculty to rerun where Sam crow the argument was always Sampras on the bridle, and then for he absolutely annihilated him. The limerick race over Christmas. So the sound profound were put back in their place until, of course, he then emerged victorious at cheltenham and I had to eat humble pie, which did not taste nice at all. But the fact that they tried him over fences went back to hurdles, then prepped him over fences for cheltenham, went for the stairs hurdle and finished second. Behind listening our Oscar is Levi impressive and for the second year in a row is finished second to the I would agree with you. She's the best marriage. She's the she's the queen of national hunt racing. Undeniably undisputably. But to go and win, I think that Henry was saying afterwards that she gave him a fright last year that Ronald pump got so close. So they had her a little bit tighter that had her a little bit fitter and a bit more forward. And back in third place, you've got the entry hurdle winner. I know that they met at punches town, but a bunch of sound form can be punches down for him. Because I was absolutely annihilated. And his formers worked out quite well because buzz who was second to him in the intro to come out and one this is our, which and one and ask out over hurdles. So this is these are good horses in behind Saudi a stormy island off too fast, probably I'm sure Danny had a plan on his mind and it wasn't exactly to do that. But she's absolutely bolted up. And look, if you took this scumbag each way bet on Arabic is abras on the final four long then boom, happy days. But she's gonna go for the Irish champion hurdle next, then champion hurdle. And possibly punches town as well. And I don't see how she loses her unbeaten record unless something sensational emerges. And the thing is, Louis, there isn't really anything from the novice campaign coming through or from the novice second season obviously last season that we can think of that is coming through. No, exactly. Look, she could probably even regress slightly and still win the champion had always season. She's not going to regress on what we saw on Sunday. She looks just as good as she ever has been enjoying. Yeah. Yep. Triple Hatton's grace winner. Which means that puts her in the same category as apple's Jade. Who was a monster of a horse on a day? The late great sole arena and her stable companion limestone lad. Three Hatton's grace hurdles in a row that is no mean feat. Not only that, 13 runs 13 wins. An Irish champion hurdle, a great one, conscious town, champion hurdle. The great one mayor's hurdle at the children festival, and of course, the champion hurdle as well. 13 runs, 13 wins. She's a monster. And I don't even think there's a point in talking about those and behind. Except for I apologize to the connections of Ronald pump. And if you backed Ronald Pompey, well done to you. Well done. At 22. But I was quite pleased to see agriculture's just about plug on and get third. In terms of the staying division, this is a mess. We had the ladbroke's long distance hurdle grade two on Friday. Ricky, Lizzy Kelly. Rupert bell Lee McKenzie himself recovering this and talks for two. On Friday, it was the return of Paisley park after his comeback. They put cheek pieces on them. He was sent off favorite again. And he's been ending up.

"So it's a fascinating race. Wouldn't be surprised, the best and incredible one or he's in the other side. I'll sit this one out. See, I would unfold just plenty of time to get involved later in the day. Plenty of time for these horses to be back in other races later in the season. A 100%, and also whoever wins this race. Well, you already have three of these horses in your tracker because excellent book jumpers to follow 2021, 2022. So they're already in your tracker and you're like, oh, God sex. This is ridiculous. I didn't buy a book. So the three of these horses could be running in a four runner race at the helmet. It's a brilliant book and showing a profit already. But the key point to make here is the previous winners this race. Grand cru, 2011. It was a very smart horse and ended up being sent off favorite from memory for the RSA. It didn't work out. Native river took it back in 2015. Thistle crack in 2016, elegant escape in 2017, santini, 2018. We'll skip one and then go next destination 2020. Because you just bend stats to your will. And what it is that you want from them. So it's a race well worth watching. That is the 1240 at newbury. We were covering this meeting for talks for two today McKenzie Declan Rick's Lizzie Kelly and Rupert bell. I'm a self and the ground was definitely good to soft. It did rain, but newbury drains very well. So it remains to be seen how much rain there is overnight and how much it affects the track, but they seem to think not very much. They seem to feel that it's going to be good to soft for the remainder of the meeting and we'll see how that works out. The one 15 kaluki. Heads the bedding. And I made a joke with the kaluki traders about this, going, well, every final full on podcast listener, who's watching ITV and racing TV is going to be going kaluki of their own horse. To which they responded LOL, by the way, we actually offer customers a free bed of kaluki wins. Whenever he runs, so if kaluki wins free bet, so get involved with the kaluki sportsbook. Kaluki or should spell this out for. Kaluki or on Twitter, clicky sports book on Google and you can watch out. Although I think they've decided to duck going out and actually being on track and taking bets in the ring at newbury in a Newcastle because of The Rain. To which one of them made a comment that I can not repeat. But it's there for you in the WhatsApp group. Kaluki team, and you can all read it there. So he heads the billing for Philips. The resurgence of Philip Hobbs says, mister gilardi, chuckling away to himself somewhere back on the show next week. Paul Nichols has. Go with that why not? Killer clown for Emeril is probably the horse that I'm just about leaning with, although grand saucy, I thought it was very, very interesting. So break it down for me, my man. I'm probably going to throw good money after bad on grand sulci. Second run after a wind up, whereas a hood, Harry skeleton on board for Paul Nichols. What's your thoughts? Yeah, I like kaluki. I think he's ready to last time I was on and you mentioned that the new sponsors. I think I mentioned the whole stream by Philipp hub. So I think the conditions are ideal for them, so I think he wants decent ground and I don't think he might get three miles. He was of course in distance when his chase debut last year at the early affliction in November and then he actually finished the next destination in the race. We've just covered the grade two John Frank and novices chase. Obviously acts well at the track. Last time we see him was over two and a half at newbury. And he is also kind of the falls between two sto and so there's two mile 6 trip is absolutely ideal for them. While steel and Philip was struggling throughout the season, kaluki was one of the consistent runners obviously disappointed in the field, but any Iran better than the results in the Reynolds sound. He's been first three laps in the end by remaster. Again, he traveled well. And he on both occasions that he shaped to me like he wants to go back on the left hand of the track. So he didn't do much wrong at all when he was just touched off by export the tape at this truck over two and a half back in March, or the extra couple of fail on stable and form decent ground. I think everything is very much in his favor. So I'd expect him to go well. The one I thought was the danger was killer clown leaves, touched upon. He finished 6th in the old royal chase. Honestly appearance. And I thought this is working out really well. It run reasonably well done quite a bit, it's actually been a brave man's game last week stayed on when he looked like he was going to fall away midnight out of obviously when the party power got funny and industrial balls ago today at newbury. So it's pretty rock solid form. I think this is back down in grade slightly to killer clowns level. And again, he's tried three miles a couple of times and possibly this truth be done. We don't see it very often, but two mile 6 around the new stages race over this road trip. I think that could suit him. He's got TPUs onto the first time. Obviously, not the desired effect today for Paisley park. Hopefully I'm a little bit more better looking. I can seek a little while I'm going again. I think a flat track and decent ground suits him. So I don't understand why they're towards the band. They'd be my two against the field, but I'd be with kaluki. I think it would be a great race, and he should be there or thereabouts. And you're not just saying that because of the sponsors, you're saying that because kaluki genuinely has a very good chance. And it's a good point to make that this is one of the few fellow policies who actually was consistent last season. So if he can build on that with.

"Something similar that you're making kind of similar wording. But at no point, can I spot Brian yu's having to grab his reigns and go, oh, and snatch up the horse, because he's being interfered with. At no point did I see her cut across that causes him severe interference. In fact, what I actually saw was Brian yews makes a deliberate maneuver that interferes with go another one and causes that horse to lose momentum. Yet briny frost is the one who ends up with the band. And there wasn't a word said about brand news. Sure. I barely know it was anything at all. I did see somebody on a bed and Twitter, but I never looked at those things. That in itself tells me everything that I need to know. The fact that you were watching the race, but you didn't go, oh jeez. Like, briney is going to be inside. Briny is one done one of her crazy evil knievel. I'm going up the inside moves. Like it wasn't that at all. It really wasn't. And she appeals she wins. It's as simple as that. Rory was of the same view on social media. And I watched it back, so many times my computer was like, are you sure you want to keep watching this? Seriously. But I couldn't see what she had done wrong to end up getting a two day ban. Whereas I could definitely see the brand news. Could have gotten a ban. So it's beyond me how she's ended up getting that way. Getting that done. It's beyond me, how there's a band dished out to briny frost, yet nothing is done to Brian use, particularly when the ban results in a perceived maneuver the briney has made, which takes Brian Hughes on empire the mold. And player the mold, which forces him to move. It didn't force him to move out at all. He moved out for a better position. Sure Matt says it on racing TV. It was said by Rupert bell on talks about two and my initial analysis before I knew anything about it was Kieran bucket's going to want to have a quiet war to bring the news about that because you don't do that. And he didn't bump him once. He went twice. So how briney has ended up getting I don't know. But it's almost the genius of Paul Nichols because I do remember Rory saying at this stage of a horse's career, why do you move a horse from venetia Williams a proven trainer to Paul Nichols? Do you think he's going to eke out more success? Thirdly, there must have been some kind of a falling out. I don't know what it was. But the one thing that you would say is that when this source was trained with venetia, all of his best forum was unsolved. Yeah, this was good grand and given a very enterprising ride by briny and goes and wins. So and not the only horse of Paul Nichols as we've discussed over the weekend that seemingly needed self grounds to be at their best. Things did not go to plan for the skeleton team on Friday or Saturday, but it all came together beautifully on Sunday. You bastards..

"That's not exactly one of Paul nicholls. Absolute stable stars. But still, it's a racy targets, and the fact that he's been able to do that in winners. Trainers are a creature of habit. So same applies to Oscar leaves. The fact that Oscar elite lined up here when college's art has trained the chart at this race in the past, tells you all you need to know. And I'd be excited about 300 through 5 to a certain extent. I'm excited in that I want to see what he does next. I want to see where he goes next, how he runs they were talking about the Brown advisory. And they're kind of they were mixing it up in terms of where exactly to go. I just said it to max as the quote from Paul Nichols that he be superb for the national hunt chase. And something like the Reynolds town in the spring. Becoming over Charlotte. Number of pole nickel sources are going to come over to the side of things, which is really good news, particularly for the Dublin racing festival. Which is fantastic to hear. He's a really strong stare. He jumps and gallops away and you can ride them hand the headlight baker said that the horse would run well in a national one day, hope he's right. He's a lovely staying horse. So former. Not quite four minor, not quite amateur writers chase. Seems to be the target for 300 through 5. Long term. We'll see if Adrian has to say about that because the jockey's union let's keep the rights. And unless the amateurs are allowed back in control of that race again, then Adrian hill would be really out of it. Another winner for Paul Nicholas on the day was Yale enki and Yale enki is I find very, very interesting because Yellen is best form comes on soft heavy. The going at children was officially good. Now I know the ground was kicking up a little bit. But it was still good throughout the entire day. This is the kept on saying. And briny frost has given this a fantastic ride and previously would finish Williams has been third three times in the Welsh grand national. And I suspect it will be the world's grand national next. Paul Nichols indeed saying that he will have an entry in the world's grand national. The race that suits him is the Portman cup at Taunton. He loves that race. If he went straight there, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Depending on what we get for the Welsh national is what he said. It was a super performance and the crowd loved these old horses who just keep on jumping and galloping. Paul Nichols full quote in the racing post to give them the credit. So not entirely certain than that he will go back to the Welsh national the chips. So he may very well just go straight to the race season for the last 17 years. Yeah, I can't imagine that it's okay. It's also very hard to see him winners. And because if you want to have one 5 70 every day, he's going to get his proper parents to bring him back up to where he was asking the right national last year. And when he was heard, you know, he's not going to improve. He'd be 12 almost 12 and so, you know, he probably went well in it again, whatever. He definitely wouldn't think he did anything the other day that he hasn't done before because he was given he was given a few land starts in the tapes went up. He got a soft lease, pretty much dictated my granted he saved his family. That wasn't necessarily not going to push. Yeah, maybe he didn't go break up, so it might not have suited him because he would probably do it more and stay so well. Did you probably did well to win turning to be a more than a half race rider than anything happened before that was neck, it was quite pain. And at the same time, he didn't do anything. We just don't know about it. And it's hard to see a window of what could be an American one 6 years. So all of you probably run well. And if there was anything in that race, the mighty Don was probably looking at winners. He made a really bad mistake at the water the first time. And then he was kind of outpace from the quickened down the road to the third last. And stayed on strongly in his face. The only thing about him is he does tend to make mistakes. So we kind of need a bit of a right gallop to actually pick up a price bush. He looked like a horse in the race that was possibly the best handicap. Kind of a bit more of a galaxy on earth and didn't make that really bad mistake. I wouldn't get too carried away with him. Yeah, I would agree. The thing that was the most interesting PostScript from this race was the brineys ended up getting a two day ban for interfering with Brian yu's. And first of all, I was watching the race because I was covering it for talks where I was presenting. Lizzy Kelly and Rupert bell were doing the commentary. But I've re watched it. Countless times, and if briny appeals, she wins. She wins this, no problem at all. Secondly, the issue is with from the third last. Now, I actually said Lizzie Kelly that I suspect that Kieran Buckley is going to be having a word with probably use afterwards because he's bumped going another one. When going on was traveling quite well. And Stuart mason's commentary on racing TV, you want to rewatch it afterwards. But Rupert's commentary as well was quite similar to Rupert said Brian used his angling out for a better position..

"Yeah, whatever. I've enjoyed watching him, and I've enjoyed watching for years. So I've one loss, bite of the cherry, perhaps. How great would it be if Frankie's dancing around in the winter's enclosure again? If he goes and wins on him. I've got a way to bow out if he does it. I'd love to see that. Absolutely fantastic. I did say baid earlier on with Dave. But actually, I'm going to do a crazy Ivan. And not change in the race, but say dragon symbol. So just want some desperately to win a group one, and I think this could be the opportunity for them to go and do it. Yeah, they keep eating each other this season, but he's the one who consistently runs his race. So hopefully, hopefully this is his time. And he can win. The typical British champion 6, which we will be proving previewing even. I could use my mouth words correctly. You had some intro to the final four on haven't you? An hour late. And then not able to talk. And taking the piss out of you at every opportunity. But in fairness, you did open the door for me, so thanks very much for that. Pure gold Lizzy gully, which is why you're so much fun to work with on talk sport. And also glad to get you on the final following as well. And with the jump season now kicking in to full swing, please God will get to chat to you again. Very, very soon. And not be so late next time as we chat big stories with deviates will actually turn up on time. Yeah, and I promise not to describe any more. Chases. Just as you were saying that Internet went like I said, I promise not. Anymore nationals is just long three more chases. It was just a typical Irish man. Lizzy Kelly, I actually quite keen to talk to you about your career in the sad as well. And another point in time, particularly after that fantastic documentary on sky the fall. Because I think that that's something that is something that bears repeating as well. And I know that it was a tough decision for you to walk away, but at the same time, hey, you're a mom now, so congratulations. And you get to do all the great work on talk sport. So which is absolutely epic, and you are commentating that day when started various one because I was covering it on the talk sport too and got to hear your excitement with them. Here's what john gosden had to say about the winning ruthlessly efficient performance real host befitting his status. I look i think we were very aware. There was no place in the race. Is any horse going forward so frankenstein. I'm drawing where. I am to stay on the wing because we suspected slow base which is what we got slow basis low time. But then don't sit out the back when they kick with two and a half st around which they did and look he's he's done it very smoothly as come through one is race but he's exactly like his father as soon as he gets there he's done enough and if i worked in at home with a very ordinary just stay with him. That's his game and as performances. Were you nervous beforehand where you just had complete with your odds on like that i it. It ought to be went nervous. Because you're the thing around. The corner is a banana skin. So it can happen. But i think frankie was aware that would be no pace. So he just asserted early. And i noticed us hanson heels and affleck just to keep them going but the horse stephanie. Playing normal blah blah afterwards. He's probably done mornings work at home and you had to do today. Well also for you as a new team. Father and son i royal ascot went on i queen. Admiral took sadie. I've been seconded at three and six eighty to get me over the line and for having cried as well. How pleased to see that wonderful. Those people who've come and done the tests and come here. It's fantastic and it's going to stop it because he's not crowded. It's very comfortable and it's a gorgeous day. So to that extent full marks for people who may be to come any quick questions for on hind league cryptic. You've dangled the possibility of going up in some. Maybe your he's asked on the back of your mind you know. I could see how relaxed ears. You can't down to stop morrow with do so to that extent is in racist like the jabber international also in the sixties also in shopper model. While so i'll talk to the owner and we'll work out the plot but the key thing is see how they are off the race but only options are open for. You'll have no trouble with the amount of the quarter. We wish to go there. Thank you bill. Thank you now. Love listening to john. Gosden that post race press conference courtesy of lloyd bell productions and rupert bell matter of fact all of the audio. I'm gonna play for you. Courtesy of those folks and my thanks to them. I love the line. The john gosden us when he was asked about being nervous about saddling the favorite and he said well you know. I guess you have be a little bit because the only thing around the corner is the banana peel. What a great way to look at it right. You've got the favorite so the only thing that can happen is you could slipped on the banana peel and you can get beat. The that's that's the only yeah that's right around the corner but Fantastic stuff from john. Gosden congrats the palace pier. Frankie dettori was aboard. And frankie has had so much success will not just at ascott but all over the world. And here's what he had to say about his winning ride. Frankly many congratulations i race. I lying different and obviously was the crowd that looks so ruthlessly efficient as a performance. You can rely on him. Also have you know. He's like getting the propagation penalty and and puts in the back of the net. So it was a you know these one of the best in the world and you want everything to go right and a and everything go right. I'm just reflecting on Thirty one years ago. I royal good in the queen. Mcqueen stinks so much has gone on rich. Still getting the same kick and yeah. I am pretty relieved that everything went smooth as a thought and he makes a big difference. We have a lot of a lot of good rise in the week and you know it takes a lot of pressure. Off is his finest attribute this holes. But it's the best miler on the world's is it goes on any ground and is beautiful specimen very kind. It does where you ask him to do. Comes from behind can be up. That is a great partner for me too. I have a in such a racist We is not just me. These these the one that you take all the credit it was pretty surreal experience here last year where he met a top jockey again. Yeah how the that people are seeing your knees being tested in coming budget you can imagine the colors to see the people. Screaming is is a mirage. I'm telling you. I'm so pleased and the great volume this morning. I was not dustic What can say with people. He's amazing and especially for me.
