"Feuds began the one that everyone about versus it'll purses self help from six years and and really those benefits is that it is against each other in the press as but in reality they were they were friendly they would hang out with each other yeah one of the part he wrote the stones first single but it's the fan bases even to this day people after you beat a person or yourselves person and that's supposed to say something about you know what kind of person you are it began there for that purpose yeah hundreds of robberies ticket prices that's what I wanted to get this because I don't I remember reading about the Beatles and the rolling stones being rivals but I don't ever remember seeing them but I never saw them speak it with each other I never saw them bash each other onstage the records and everything same thing yeah it's it's funny because like our episodes this week is on well it is kind of in a public parking the work during that episode next week on George Harrison and the few that you had with whether it is actually more feuds with in each band been there were between the pair your whole like the Beatles I went in party didn't get along but the van then presented learn McCartney reports that the stones Jagger and Richards have had you know had a lot of back and forth obviously over the course of six years so it's a lot more robberies in band there are between them Steven Hyden and Jordan run taunt rivals music's greatest viewed as a positive podcast you can hear on the I heart radio app if you want to download it for free Jordan what then by and large when you have okay so we just covered a a rivalry that really what the rivalry was more of a hyped rivalry but when there was a true rival what generally provokes it I mean I think it's a sin to competition one of my favorite shows that we did was Michael Jackson versus prince which was amazing I mean you would have both of these guys would would kind of go incognito into the other's concerts and like watch their corners and what the choreography and kinda get inspired for their own towards Michael Jackson with the purple rain for print click to see I think all the knights of the victory toward in in LA so that's a I think it's a sense of you know artistic competition really and without one it's so funny too because we have these two Titans of twentieth century music and they had a showdown on a ping pong table in which it humanizes them away to I mean the way that you know anyone feels that the rival with a sibling or somebody at work you think that you know even the superstars of millions of millions of dollars and sold millions of millions of records still feel the same way it's kind of comforting the prince and Michael Jackson I'm sorry but they they work with even in competition as to who could over O. D. first I'm sorry sick joke sick joke it's a great book thousand Katie okay Jordan at runtime and Steven Hyden are with this and that it's called rivals music's greatest feuds so along with competition is is is there ever any manufactured because the old radio of the old radio host used to do this Jack Benny and Fred Allen they would manufacture a rivalry that didn't really exist yeah I think it'll still be available the most obvious one you know I I think that sometimes more than it being manufactured by the oppressive about music fans have a debate yeah like if you're at a one artist and your your body the fat a fan of another artist and you end up arguing what was better you know I like another example would be like Eric Clapton Jimi Hendrix like Black Sabbath but let's not feel like you're part of that are in the same lane in a way where we offense and argue about what was better but it's not really about the bands themselves having a conflict yeah there's only two levels like artists rivalries like Olympic and **** robberies there are ways that are born at a bar the chart now Killian user breaking beer bottles Steven Hyden you've written a whole book about that too in that a lot of what you covering your favorite band is killing me yeah exactly ideal the whole book is just about how we as you the band project a lot of meaning under these robberies that sometimes but then totally sync up with reality you know that if we do that I think we like rivalry I mean I think we like conflict with what people like sports you know that the sports aspect of music and obviously fascinated by that report on the show with Jordan we have a really good time being in the music history as an country thing how these relationships of all over time thank you bye classic rock artists I mean they really do go on for decades some of these these the it's great brought together a lot of talk about the show well in the show is a podcast called rivals music's greatest feuds and you can download it and hear it for free on the I heart radio apps Steven Hyden and Jordan Runtown thanks for joining us this morning news radio one thousand KT.

Bloomberg radio time now for extra thirteen sixty Fox Sports Indiana go ahead Mr might cost a Hella door good morning hello what your what your big Memorial Day plans funny you should ask here we go I can I can just I was gonna say temp this can I say that pimp it baby all right because tonight I'm going to do a Facebook yeah yeah that's right yeah Facebook level the cocoa Facebook page where you can win a two hundred fifty dollar gift card barbeques galore galore and a hundred Bucks to Callie comfort barbecue oh my god so we get labels coming I know that's awesome yeah well let's start off with some us some good local news Ariana city council has called a meeting for next Friday where you know it's the worst kept secret under if they are going to debate discuss and hopefully vote on the mission valley project and St Augustine university has this been going on forever you know we're to I was just talking about with John Cheever who's filling in for judge Richards this week you know the last Super Bowl we had the San Diego was the season of two thousand two is really two thousand three between the Buccaneers and and the raiders and you know the NFL kind of set up for this list and you are not getting another Super Bowl ever unless you get a new stadium right so the new stadium talk is is kind of that's really where it the ball started rolling Hey we need to get you to stay we need to get a new stadium let's fast forward to where we are right now and twenty twenty and we know renderings and votes and different measures and nothing ever got done to the point of we don't have an NFL team anymore and you know use quite over or a spilt milk so this meeting next Friday you know hopefully I think there's people within the council and people who are in the know as far as the whole measures concerning the purchase sales agreement feel that the necessary votes yay are there for this thing to pass and for saying you too seriously then to hand over the what is I think eighty eight million dollar check and then they start the process of really getting to the point Ted of okay you're gonna have all the city leaders are going to have a president dilatory of center State University gonna GT wicker you're probably gonna have all the dignitaries are saying the state down there hopefully with beautiful red black shovels and have a you know breaking ground breaking ceremony so I think there's still a lot of people they're going okay well how many times we've been you know walked up to the precipice of something good's going to happen only to have it blow up in our faces but they're kind of the really is some optimism that we as a city and as as sports fans in this town are finally going to get something nice we we have a nice because we live here we know but it's always you know you got to get better as a said you gotta create new revenue streams and and things like that and I think one of the things people need to remember is that this is not just a stadium for Aztecs football it is it's going to be an event center right it is going to be a place where hopefully there's a Major League Soccer objects soccer team calls at home whether it's the loyal whoever it is and then there's there's concerts is offensive all those things that are taxable revenue you know so it just remember it's just not a stadium for for San Diego state hopefully we got great news coming out of the city council next next Friday basic baseball it seems as the days go by that we are not gonna have baseball and and twenty twenty doesn't sound like you know the the owner sent this sixty seven you know there's like eighty nine page document like okay here's all the protocols here's a thing going to go through this it's got to go through if you're gonna get season back in the player sent back a sixty seven page questionnaire to them like okay what about this what about that and now there's a a memo that's been leaked out as far as the finance season and what players are are willing to accept is far is paraded salaries and and giving the owners a forty percent discount on top of that and so it just as the days go by you the hope of a twenty twenty baseball season continues to sink lower and lower all right well you have a great Labor Day weekend with Labor Day Memorial Day weekend now all my holidays are getting mixed up you have a great Christmas as well thank you you work on Monday by the way no no no no well I'll be here all right all right dreaded part of everyone's a senior year in high school may cease to exist plus having in your weather in "Thirteen of no sports because as we talked about this was the night today's Wednesday so two weeks from today was Oklahoma City the Utah Jazz Runtown Rudy go bare test positive the NBA subsequently shut down in the rest of sports follow suit it that seems like a lot longer than two weeks doesn't seem like much because what we do for a living but it seems like it seems like a lot it's under guard it seems like yesterday and summer job seems like a hell of a long time ago and it goes on and on and on it and so it's only been two weeks that's not it I I I you know that the the briefing yesterday the date of Easter Sunday which is April twelfth was raised I mean just do the math here for the first is a week from today right I mean come on so I went with the point is though if you get more data you know there's some areas that are judged and you could just see that man had was not going to be good and most people are on top of each other you got seventeen million people just on top of each other that is not a Big Island Manhattan island it's small and how do you know how do you deal with it I got a friend Mike one of my best friends that lives there and just trying to stay sane so it's you know San Francisco the bay area Santa Clara county were right there Seattle state Washington Washington is the epicenter by the way for the United States what is the day of Kirkland Washington where the Seahawks used to hold their care that is the epicenter that's the epicenter for the United States I guess I remember the first case all of the first one yeah yeah yeah yeah I mean the furry out patient zero was forget Seattle is just been they've been ravaged great out so they were there head of us I mean we we like to think we're smarter and if they do a lot of data you know I was on a I was on a show in Seattle are friends of the K. G. R. two days ago and they called me because they were doing the the lock down that we've done for what a week or so now and they were asking me all these questions will is it any different and they were pretty much doing that so that's why everybody went out and panicked and bought everything because they thought well Jeez we're not gonna get anything of course we didn't but they didn't have how many counties do we start with eight six or eight counties right away on that Monday six yeah yeah they do they do that ever we had John Clayton and I think the Friday before that the Seattle didn't see there's the that Sierra county didn't until about forty eight hours ago because they were asking me like what else learning which is called king county of county asking him here at king county yeah and they were asking me what it was like it was like it's not really because I was asking him like what's going on like well everybody staying home and I'm like what's it's not that different many of essential services as we all know and that's basically the conversation but they they were we're staying home there anyway and so really wasn't much different from what you know and go and go back to there was also two weeks today nine hours ago Baird thing happened that night right right now right now the city of San Francisco London breed came out whether proclamation and then the warriors just were I don't know if they ever officially announced they were gonna play a game and fans but I I remember talking to Raymond Ridder all that day so we were you know I think he did I think they did and I think numbers kept coming down right then London breed said okay you can have a thousand thousand in there then that was it that was the day after the clipper game by the other Wednesday day two weeks ago today you and I are talking about the right yeah about how they were to play a game with no fans in this in that right I got your shorts Ryan yeah so the warriors did that there was that those couple conference calls Rick welts was on one in the morning that day with the mayor and she came up with the one thousand the warriors came I I've got to go through my emails I think they did say work or not bringing fans are gonna play tomorrow night and I was talking to them all day member they have a PA announcer you gonna have music I can handle that and then and now when you hear about the conference call that the so the NBA owners and board of governors at the conference call that day and I thought it was gonna be earlier in the day they did start that conference called like four thirty east coast time right RT our time I thought when you wait for it to go because he got games you started here are four thirty eastern time yes could be several hours on that conference call so they they planned on playing in those games you know two weeks ago today on the eleventh March the eleventh but it when you hear what people are actually saying that's why in a London breed Gavin Newsom event ahead of things Rick Welch in the warriors but Joe make up apparently got on that phone call and there was the talk about you know let's close the doors to play the games and and drove basically told the NBA owners at that time I think we need to hiatus was the word used which made it seem like it's just a period of time it will come back but I think he sensed what was going on where apparently he was one of the owners I don't know if they ever had a formal vote or what they were gonna do but they were going to announce the next day after the vertigo bear situation if they were gonna play games but the fans are not going to be in the in the building I was gonna be the plan but Joe lake up took the initiative on that call apparently what's been reported to say now I I think we're we're looking at a more dead judge difficult situation we don't want to do that the owners were concerned that if we do shut it down to two week hiatus and obviously would have been much longer and we're not gonna be able to bring it back so I think you know New York in what Andrew Cuomo is doing because they're in the middle of that New York at Manhattan in particular but you know led by you know the people here London Brady Gavin Newsom Joe lake up I mean we've just been you know it's a terrible thing but you know people do have to show leadership here and I think we can be proud of the way our our community in the way our status is behaving during this yeah no doubt about it but well just to think that it was two weeks ago tonight that the Utah was in Oklahoma City you know it's weird it's it's really weird how quickly your perspective changes and what I mean by that is when you're watching some of these games some of these you know the best of games you're looking at this watching some of these channels you see people in the crowd and it seems strange that people are congregating in these are games years ago which you would have thought nothing of but I'm watching the these games and I'm thinking that guys putting like food in his mouth from his head at all like I'm because my perspective is already Jeez I watch is going all my god these people are congregating other somebody jurors like it's just it's weird how quickly in and then this isn't something I'm doing consciously really like your value is already in this too when I heard your mind is gone from you congregating bad people together but I know that I was watching a lot of Friday night I go through different days right do some things one day and you know once for one day but it's not a night for whatever reason I was watching a lot of old concerts and it wasn't sports but I was thinking about what what you're thinking about just in what the feeling a concert can bring people yes for sports brings everybody together and having a greater cross section you know no matter where you are what color you are religion where you're from socio economically people in Iraq during a sports moment like they would in no other concerts are more genre related but still the feeling you get at a concert is I'm going it's not like sports three of ups and downs and you know it's it haven't slowed the game a concert moves you in a way and other you know there's other forms of entertainment to it for different people anyway so I was thinking like you know during age no we had we had live aid you know we had we had one of them one of that's because of all of all time real wire where's our generations that they're doing that and even though you know we are sequestered in our homes but these these guys can go and meet women you know musicians can going to studios and they can you know have a simultaneous concert from anywhere in the world around the globe and I I wonder where's where's this and money why they deserve to raise raise money to get ventilators made or whatever we need more mass more money whatever it is whatever production it just seems like you know moments like that when you go back into John sports led the way but music led the way in and some degree we can have any kind of a a live aid for covert nineteen that's a great point I I know we had read of a couple of a couple of bands doing things on again there are so many different ways you can video conference and and trying to figure stuff like that up that's a great point where some of these you know a lot of these people to get together and obviously promoters and so forth and you could do it where it would just be if you know what a small number of people although even to put on something like that you're gonna have you know back in people that are going to have to do a lot of different things I I don't know how many people it would take to put all the lights out and I went in the studio to be adding on the group and made sure she does bring people into a studio some artist could do it on a solo will remember when they were when they were doing live a two for those who don't remember was in nineteen was live eight eighty five and it was nineteen eighty five for Live Aid and they they did it all around the world there wasn't just one place it was time to leave in fact if you've ever L..

"Please listen to president trump is speaking at the White House with the Colombian president speaking about the response to the corona virus which has been whipping around markets had been a huge decline correction last week today we are seeing equities rally a bit although really with the price action meanwhile in the small cap world's been interesting to see how you're not seeing the same kind of gain sort of interesting I'd to observe the different fortunes here in table simple brick socks center is joining us here in our interactive brokers studios Dave just before we dig into the specific movers of the small caps can you give us a sense of what the catalyst has been behind some of the movies that we've seen out with the nasdaq now up one point one percent well I mean there's just a whole lot of back and forth at this point you can argue that you based on some market indicators that stocks have become cheap enough that people want to try and step in and buy it but you know at the same time the issues that you know kind of precipitated the decline especially associated with the the corona virus are still out there I mean we just saw a headline a moment ago Ryanair the Irish airline cancelling as much as twenty five percent of its flights to Italy in response to client current virus and this is after American and delta both said they would suspend flights to malign over the weekend for the same reasons so you know those issues are still very much front and center here so just looking at the small caps kind of interesting to see they're not keeping pace with the large caps what's behind that well I mean you you've got a lot of movement away from the smaller companies toward the larger ones and let's face it in times when you know you see concern about where markets are headed where economies are headed there is a certain perhaps reluctance to take on risk smaller companies a lot of cases seen as riskier so if you're going to buy into stocks at all it's like a lot of times of the start of the larger companies is going to build out from there the much like Saturday Wilson thanks so much for joining us for that small cap before coming in you know it looks small caps Russell's date match up a half a percent well below the S. and P. it up by about one point two percent of Dow up one point three percent so and yet another day of under performance for Lisa and her small cap stocks listen it's not for me but I think that it's interesting because a lot of people were saying the U. S. was going to be immune to some of the effects that were focused on China certainly that hasn't been the case certainly it's not just China but it raises a question if there is global weakness do the more indebted companies end up suffering even more and the Russell two thousand it's been saying yes and I have been an important lagging eat a lot if the indicator it's been like behind it's a reliable one just signal weakness that can remember just earlier just in beginning the year a lot of a strategist for saying this is the year for small caps but that we're not seeing it so far what we did see today's weaker than expected manufacturing data coming out of the manufacturing business survey ten fury he's the chairman of the manufacturing business survey institute for supply management in Miami Florida so time the data came in weaker than expected what did the data tell you good morning fog only so so it was kind of a similar month to January I guess is the point that I saw on this of the orders of forty nine point eight that's about the same output is January because of production fifty about the same so it's really important PMR that cut the PMR input meaning suppliers are struggling to deliver more and the mentors are dropping in part because of bars aren't living at the rate that they should make the big issues of the economic market here is moving so fast that it's almost like okay look at what's happened at the end of the month and and where we had a crown of ours obviously had a big impact on this number forty two percent of our general comments were virus related and of those forty two percent eighteen percent of those comments were already experiencing problems primarily in the southeast Asia China region problems around transporting goods inside China getting containers and chassis used to the right location within China and being an axe for products outside of China the other twenty the other the other twenty four percent are having difficulty getting information so that that twenty four percent is probably gonna drop in the eighty percent going to go up so my my point on this is that almost half of our respondents are currently currently and are planning to see the impacts on the coronavirus and until that number of people seeing problems right now those above eighty percent we haven't seen the end of the cycle well I haven't seen the end of this thing given the fact that we are seeing inventories come down I am we are seeing some activity brought forward to try to get ahead of any uncertainty how bad do you think it could get I mean how how much is worse in the potential manufacturing recession well you know I think I've I've been saying I thought they were going to be in a forty eight to fifty two environment here through the balance of twenty twenty and I I can't say that anymore at this point I think the key is is what happens in the next six weeks what happens by mid April if if this plateaus out and starts to drop because if you stop the spread of actually people recover from it then I think we've got the chance to really starting to expand fairly heavily in Q. three but if we don't do something within that six weeks again tennis globally and you know this thing's going to go on all the way through twenty twenty so to one of the numbers that really jumped out at me was the import index that swung into contraction falling the most on record to forty two point six again anything below fifty signals a contraction how is that gonna ripple through the economy get think of the next couple quarters well the the most important the most interesting numbers of the whole PMR were the ones that go into the PMR Sir absolutely imports of forty two point six major drop off almost nine points from the prior month so we actually expanded imports the other one is interesting years prices collapse of forty five point nine at a seven point four point drop in prices January to February and family driven by the basic fundamentals the oil natural gas steel aluminum copper and then the third one I found really interesting was that backlog grew to fifty point three we've been trying to get back out to get back into expansionary mode for about six months it finally did but the reason I got into that mode is not a very positive one you know based on the review of the the comments the reason about log hit that expansion motors because production was very inefficient due to not having all the proper materials to be able to satisfy demand the month of February to see it in the sense that this is mostly a supply shock and not necessarily a demand shock in other words are any of the manufacturer's giving a sense that they're seeing a drop off in demand yes actually so so yeah for sure this is a supplies shock at this point in time are the confusion is really around where's my stuff what am I gonna get it my unit goes around the time that I really need it but there's also concern that this is going to spread out beyond aid Asia a supply shock will now carry itself into Europe and then it's going to convert itself into a demand shock because people are going to be spending money the stock could be an interest in investing until everything is kind of well known side I think that's a really good point the other thing is job in tracking sentiment month a month and we went from eighty two point four positive comments in January to one about the positive till one point three so the sentiment acts absolutely changed that's about a fifty percent decline and and field people feeling positive about the future months than of the other thing that I've been tracking it employment side and in January the committee felt that they would be able to manage a labor force ours through Christian and in the month of February now the feeling that they may have to be more active measures to Missouri thank you so much for that Runtown really important in a time when everyone's trying to understand just how big the pull back will be in manufacturing Tim fury chairman of the manufacturing business survey at the institute for supply management right now let's head.
