How to Respond When the Left Plays the Race Card

"White guilt is something that funded the BLM movement and has been the basis for this. When they play the race card, how do we respond? All right, so let me actually add a book example for you, not just they are the book runners you want one. This is a moment in photographic history that has been burned into my memory. They put out some propaganda, one Gavin Newsom, you probably heard of put out some propaganda about how the conservatives want to ban books. And he's sitting there, legs crossed, looking all like I've read a book one time, is he a little glasses or something? He's looking at this book and he's reading this book and this is on he's got the stack of books on table. This is the book that they want to ban. And it was To Kill a Mockingbird. They banned that book. No conservative it wants to ban that book. They banned that book because of its depictions of race in the time period when it was exactly right. They don't like To Kill a Mockingbird because they say it reinforces a white supremacist judicial construct of presumption of innocence and independent judiciary. And that frames a press or a press of what? White savior complex. Yeah. That's literally what they say because in the book Atticus Finch comes and does something that only a white savior could do. Messianic white savior complex. They banned To Kill a Mockingbird. They do this all the time. And so don't let them call you out on that and it's the same thing. If they pull out a name, they pull out a name. I'm going to give you a definition of critical race theory that you've probably not heard. It's a very simple one. It's very easy one to remember, critical race theory is calling everything you want to control racist until you control it. So if they call you a racist, all that means is they want to control you. If they say this school is racist, that means they want control of how that school operates. If they say it, our military is racist, that means they want to control their military. It's all it means. If they call you a homophobe, it's because they want to control you. They call you transphobe. That's because they want to control you. And so a lesson to practice. You do want to have a little bit of savvy, but the thrust of the right answer is, so what?

Will Sidney Powell Get Away With Being a Grand Jury No Show?

"How does city Powell get out of speaking of which skipping her grand jury appearance in Georgia? Which, by the way, that's another whole, another whole part of the Georgia thing, the grand jury wants to ask her about an involvement in an incident in South Georgia, the more video shows people being led into the county elections office to download elections data from voting machines and an election server. State investigators call it criminal behavior, Sidney Powell paid for all of that. And she just doesn't show up. So Sidney Powell, we got a runner, you know? And she's slow though. She'll never she won't get far. Running through, you know, swamps tracking down the crack and I mean, this has all the makings of a holiday. It's a Hollywood blockbuster. Is there someone gonna say she won't get far on foot? Yeah, we got a runner. Yeah, she won't get far. So I suspect they're gonna say, oh, there was some confusion about the date and chill up here. She didn't want to be running from the Georgia law enforcement authorities that will be signed to lock her up for failing to appear before the grand jury.

"Thanks for joining us, Steve. Yeah, thanks so much for having me. I'm excited to be on. Yeah, yeah, so tell us a bit about yourself as an athlete, especially thanks to the interweb, I know you're one heck of a speedy runner in high school. I was so, yeah, as an athlete, I actually grew up playing other sports, so I kind of fell in love with soccer and baseball and all that good stuff until I joined high school cross country, and I think ran too well. And I remember after one of my first cross country meets, my coach coming up and saying, Steve, you need to just focus on running. Like you could be really good at this. And I was ignorant and I was like, I don't know what that means, but okay, this adult is telling me this. So I'm going to do it. So that's what happened. I was a really good high school bull runner by my senior year. I ran the mile in four minutes and one second and was the fastest high schooler in the country that year. So it was kind of, yeah, it was a very quick improvement and almost unexpected 2°, but it was quite an experience. And then from there, I had all these dreams of like, well, I'm the best high schooler in the nation. I'm going to go on and do great things and Olympics and that's what everyone talked about around me. And then I fundamentally did not get better in college, although I competed all throughout college and worked really hard for whatever reason. I just kind of stagnated. And in my own running life, that was kind of this contrast of reaching the kind of top of the top and then having to adjust and find again that love for sport in not seeing progress. So you have a great athletic background and I'm sure you've been coached many times over the years and now you are a coach yourself. You have a coaching business, but you are a performance coach. So tell us more about that. What is a performance coach? Yeah, that's a great question because it's very nebulous and I don't even know if I can explain it myself. But here's the gist of it. For a very long time, after I finished my college degree and running, I was focusing entirely on running and track and field.

"Mother runner, this is Sarah Bowen Shea, I am joined in the co host chair by Liz waterstradt. Hello, Liz. Hi Sarah. How goes it? Tell us busy day, but just here doing my thing. So did you have anyone explain how to do your thing or perhaps mansplain how to do that? Oh, I knew you were going to bring that up. Oh, Sarah. Encounter number two with meddling human being while you're running. Can I just say that I have been a runner since my early teens and has gone that entire time with no one ever saying a thing to me? Wow. Yeah, running all over the country. No one has ever said a thing to me, but in the last 6 months I've had quite a few encounters. And I'm not sure if Sarah, if this is a sign that the world is changing or I'm just really, or is it me? Or is it me? Am I the drama here? It's also like, you seem so, I mean, you're very in your power, you know, you are present as a strong athlete, but you are diminutive. Thank you. Thank you. I know people can't see us on this podcast. But my foot too. So you're my pocket pal. I don't know why. I don't actually take up a lot of space in the world, and I'm aware of that. And I just try to keep to myself. And stay in my lane, but people just keep giving me their opinions. Oh my gosh, yeah, and you don't have a sour post look on your face or. No. Nothing. So I don't know what's going on. Okay, so share this latest deal because to reference, we're talking the other one, the one before this that I posted on the Facebook page is a TMI Tuesday, a woman who's riding her bike while you are running on a very hot humid day wearing shorts and a bra top told you to put some clothes on. She told you that once but twice. Again, I'm very small. Just out there in my sporty sporty gear, but okay, so this past this was last week. I just went out for a run in our neighborhood and it was like 11 in the morning and when I say in our neighborhood, we don't live in a busy neighborhood. And I was on an interior street within the neighborhood and the street was maybe 200 meters long, and it dead ended in a cul de sac. No cars on it. I'm on the right hand side of the street, which I understand, you know, most people will say, well, you should run on the opposite side of the street. But again, I'm very small. There's no traffic ever on the street.

"If I want to do hills, I get on the treadmill, or I run a lot of people make fun of me. They were making fun of me at the retreat. I run on the freeway on ramp. You do not. But it's a mirror. It's a small freeway. It's a very small freeway on ramp. People are making fun of me. And I'll run up and down that if I want to do hills. Oh my gosh, and the police have never come over and been like, ma'am, ma'am. It's a very small, like it's in my neighborhood. It's like a cross town freeway is what they call it. It's not like the interstate or anything. Okay, so it's not to I 5 or something. No, it's not high 5. It's just to get from one part of town to the next part of town. So it's not a lot. It's so bad. But anyway, it was, it was very hard. And I did not have a good pace. I did not finish in a good time, but I had a good time. So, and it's so beautiful. Stephanie Bruce. And then I met Stephanie Bruce afterwards. So that was really fun. So cool. Yeah, you sent that picture that was awesome. Yeah. Yes, awesome. All right, so let's talk thyroid. So the good Doc that we had on RA told us what Hashimoto's is, but how about you tell us what it, how it presented itself in your body, both when you're running and when you were just living your best life? Okay, so, and it's all I've just been diagnosed very recently, so it's all very new to me. So I'm probably don't have any of the terms right. But this is how it was for me. I just, over the last, I'll say in 2020 is when I noticed it, but that's when everybody felt bad. Nobody felt good. And my husband went from working from home to working out of town in August 2020. So after being at home and all of us hunker down at home, he went to work out of town and only came home on the weekends, but my kids were still here and we were kind of still trapped in the house. I just didn't feel great. I felt tired all the time. I gained weight, I just had no energy, felt kind of depressed, still got out every day and ran, but man, I just felt like my legs were cinder blocks. I just felt like I was running through quicksand, and it was hot in the summertime, and it gets hot here, but it was different. And so I've never been super fast runner, but I went from wanting running like a 12 30 pace to like a 1415 minute pace. And I couldn't and I couldn't get any faster. And even I trained and did the virtual Boston Marathon in October 2021 and I did heart rate training last summer, and I just felt like my training was so terrible because it was like my heart rate shot up as soon as I took a few steps and I spent so much time walking. So over the years, you know, I've had weight problems here and there and I've had my thyroid tested and my husband has had thyroid issues for years and he's like a thin person and it makes me so mad that I'm like, how skinny would you be if you had a normal thyroid like this isn't fair? So I've had my thyroid tested and it's just been, you know, it's normal..

"Because we also know that trauma, chronic trauma, when we ask our bodies to continually heal from something from some inflammation or irritation that can also predispose us to certain types of cancers. And so never just assume it must have just been running injury, especially if it's not getting better and it's not moving out. So I would say with caution, your toenails should grow out, but take those other things that we talked about and hopefully that will prevent. That's interesting. It's really aligned with, I think, sometimes what you hear physical therapists and doctors say, if you have acute or I guess obstetric chronic pain in one area and it's not moving and staying there, you need to check it out. But if you have general soreness that has kind of generally like when a pain starts to kind of move around or maybe not a pain because certainly there's injuries, but like a soreness starts to move as a trainer, I'm always like, okay, good. Like it's generally good when it starts to move and I feel like that's kind of what you're saying with the toenail. Like once it starts, you can see your body trying to get rid of it. It's a good sign when it's just staying. Your body's consistently having to work on it. That's a red flag. So I have to ask about Bob Marley link. Is that dermatology lore or something? I mean, is that like a case study? I'm fascinated by that.

"Yeah. So I think it really gives you freedom of choice. And you could wear a bike or underneath it or kind of depends on what you're into. But just kind of a heads up for folks that if you're in your local sporting goods store, you might find solutions outside of the running area. I said it. I know that's shocking, but it is true. Yep. I was good to cross pollinate. Yep. Let's talk deodorant. Kathy wants to know about natural deodorant. Is there a brand that actually works and where do we stand on deodorant and its ingredients? She fully expects to sweat and smell when she runs, but when she's just sitting at her computer, the rest of her body is freezing and armpits are on overdrive. What's up with that? Well, okay. So there's a difference between a deodorant and antiperspirant. And deodorant is exactly as it sounds. The deodorizers. So often they're heavy with perfume. Antiperspirants typically have aluminum chloride in there that helps to minimize sweat. So natural deodorants as a dermatologist, I'm often, I always see people when they have problems with it. So my view of some of these things is skewed because I see what the problems are. And often with natural deodorants, particularly people who have otherwise sensitive skin, like they've got hay fever science problem seasonal allergies. I will share with these patients you and mother nature don't get along very well. It's pollen, pollen, plants, comes from flowering plants. What do natural products? What are they made of? You and mother nature don't get along very well. So you don't necessarily want to put mother nature in your armpits? So for those patients, I would probably recommend that they go with more of the deodorant that's made for people who have more sensitive skin like Al may dove, there's another brand called vanicream, which has very few ingredients and it's one of my favorite for people who got sort of allergic to everything, including fragrance..

"Well, I would never recommend anybody go sit out on the beach. Well, okay, good point. Good point. But if you're going to have to be in the sun, maybe not sitting out in the beach for doing something else. Playing pickleball, maybe. I have a picture in my office in one of my exam rooms of one of those sun protective tents with my foot sticking out of it and I point to patients like that's the dermatologist at the beach. That's amazing. What about for your scalp? So I think for me, I am black and I wear my hair in cornrows and embrace and I certainly notice that my scalp is much more fair complexed than my face. And so I am curious, you know, should I be putting sunscreen on my head if you are have light skin and fine hair, should you be putting it on your scalp? What's the situation when it comes to your hair and your head? Yeah, I would always, I mean, you're better off just wearing a hat. Because absolutely, one of while women can not get a lot of sunscreens, excuse me, skin cancer statistically on their scalp because they have more hair than men do. Where they will get it is in their part, you will get a sunburn in your part. So I would absolutely encourage you if you're going to wear your hair in braids with sort of scalp obviously showing you can get one of those spray sunscreens just kind of run a little bit of it through your hair. But again, easy and easier just to kind of throw on a hat. But scalp is actually a very high risk area for skin cancer, particularly for men and particularly for men who maybe balding. Yeah. All right, so that leads us to a hair related question we're leaving sunscreen behind. That was incredibly informative and enlightening and kind of scary. Scary. But thank you. So this hair related question from Courtney who is curious about ingrown hairs down there. She says they tend to pop up when I run after I do some grooming. How do you prevent that? That's back to the lady part. So. It depends on how your grooming, but really kind of gets back to the same issue of friction and irritation. So hair down there is still hair. And if your hair down there is longish, which is probably why you're grooming. Then hair can get caught. It can get pulled. It can get irritated. And so vaseline, if you're not going to groom, if you're going to wear shorts, particularly shorts that have like the little PNT liner in it. That often cuts you right where the underwear line is. Bikini line ends. And so again, probably better to choose something like a biker short that there's nothing going to be sitting right there in your crease. If you are going to wear those type of shorts, I would most definitely put some vaseline or some other sort of barrier and body glide or any of those things. And that area as well. So they're also making shorts these days that don't have the liners just for as someone who used to walk in that industry. If you look for training shorts, training shorts tend to not have the liner. So if you look for a stretch woven training short, it is basically a running short without the brief. And maybe less pockets, which again, pros and cons to everything, but just a heads up. And you would wear this without underwear? No, I would wear underwear. Of some kind of some kind. But I think that sometimes those briefs aren't necessarily made for comfort and less friction in that area..

"And so one thing is the numbers. Then the rating system, the SPF, 45, 60. It's confusing. And so going forward at some points, we can't say when because I don't know when. The FDA is going to make it very simple. It's going to be SPF 50 and above and 50 and below. Simple. So then we know that some of the difference between SDF 60 and 80, some of its marketing, right? Because you're not necessarily going to be out there if it takes you two hours to get a sunburn. You're not going to be out there for 16 hours running. So most importantly, making sure that you are using enough if you're going to be out doing long run and you are very sweaty. The other thing is sweat proof. There's no such thing as sweat proof. There's no such thing as waterproof. You will see some of the labeling now say sweat resistant, but then there should be a number on there that says what resistant for 80 minutes. Water resistant for 80 minutes. The labelings have to say that now. So that means it's good for 80 minutes. So you have 80 minutes before you need to reapply. If you are going to be out there longer than you got to figure it out. And so sometimes that means having your family members meet you, halfway through. So they can have the sunscreen. A lot of these training programs now like sleep feed. They have aid stations along training run as well as the race and now thankfully they're starting to carry some sunscreen. So you can reapply and make it easy for you. The other thing that I will mention is there is a capsule called heliocare. Heliocare is basically crushed up fern. Like the plant. So some scientists may be observation. Many years ago, that fern plants do not burn. So why don't we crush it up and make people eat it? And they will not burn either. So it is considered a dietary supplement. It does not carry a labeling from the FDA about being an oral sunscreen, so I can't say that. But what I will say is that I encourage people who are significantly sun exposed or have risk factors for skin cancer to take this. And so I would it's an antioxidant that helps your skin mitigate the damage of UV rays. It is not instead of a sunscreen. It is with. In addition to. And so for my runners, my athletes my kids who are playing soccer, I would encourage you to go ahead and add this into your regimen. You take it before you run 20 minutes before you run. And it's good for probably about four to 6 hours. So that is something that you can do in addition to help you get through a longer race or longer run. My dermatologist also recommended that for me and I took it for a little while 'cause I went to Hawaii and got really bad sun poisoning. And so she recommended also to take it like if you know I'm going to go to a tropical location and just be sitting out on the beach, kind of closer to the sun's rays for long period of time to take it then too. I don't know if you'd recommend that as well, but she said to me..

"Next question. Yeah, so here's the thing about sunscreen. Poorly understood misunderstood. We're going to go through this easy breezy. So there are sunscreen sort of a generic term for some sort of cream or potion that you put on to protect your in the sun. You have physical sunscreens and chemical sunscreens. Physical sunscreens tend to be zinc oxide titanium dioxide in the olden days. It's what the lifeguards were that kind of white stuff on their nose. Over the years, it's become micronized. So it's actually, you know, you don't have to walk around looking like a light guard. They're actually pretty elegant formulations. Sunscreens, the physical ones act just like they sound. They are a physical blocker from the sun's rays to penetrate through your skin. The chemical, some blockers are almost like little PacMan, like that game PacMan. And so they will come and chew up the damage that the rays are giving to your skin. So the two functions both physical blocker and sort of the PacMan mechanism work best together. So the best sunscreens are a combination of physical and chemical. There are some people who want to avoid chemicals. So obviously you got with the physical? The other thing that I will say is the best sunscreen for you is the one that you're going to use. So sometimes you split hairs too much and you end up talking yourself out of wearing a sunscreen. While the other answer is, no one ever died from wearing sunscreen. People die from skin cancer every day. So, you know, if you enjoy running, you're doing a great thing for your body, but you're also putting yourself at increased lifetime risk of skin cancer. And question sunscreen. So the numbers, the SPF, that means sun protection factor. What that means is how long you are going to be able to stay out in the sun before you get the damage. And so for easy math, let's say if you got very, very fair skin, blond hair, blue eyes, you go out in the sun in a minute. And you're going to sunburn than if you put on an SPF 30, that means you can stay out for a 30 minutes to still get the same amount of damage. So you still want to get it get it. It's going to take that much longer. And so the other pieces of sort of this global protection are making sure that you prove that you choose an appropriate sunscreen with an SPF. Now, SPF only bears relevance to UVB. There's UVA and UVC that play a role in skin cancer. There is no rating system for UVA. And so you can not have a false sense of security that I've got my SPF 45 and I'm good. I'm like, I don't know, are you? Is it broad spectrum? Because that's the word or the thing that you need to look for to say that it incorporates UVA protection. It will either say straight out that is UVA UVB protection. Or it will say broad spectrum, but no, again, that SPF only bears reference to UVB. Protection. So the other thing is making sure that you are using enough..

"And then figure out what it was that bothered your skin and fix that. So sometimes it can be the new tag on a T-shirt or your bra just wasn't fit and rate. So you got to fix it. So that's interesting that you bring up the take a cooler shower because on our, we have an ancillary show called AMR answers and somebody was asking, why is it when you hop into shower? It hurts so badly where each shaved, but then she wants to know why that pain diminishes. So we gave the advice to take a cool shower, but doctor Jackson can you explain why it is that it doesn't hurt for the whole time you're in the shower? You know what I'm saying? Yeah, so initially our nerve endings are sensitized with any kind of irritation. And very commonly, I mean like with people who've got urticaria hives or any kind of itchy condition, hot shower feel great, right? They're relaxing, which is why a lot of people like to take them, but the hot water is also a distractor. And so it's given giving your nerve endings a different sensation. So that your skin nerve endings are like, oh, well, what's this hot thing going on over here? I'm not worried so much about that burning that I had an hour ago, but now let me figure out what this hot stuff is going on. It does almost like your nerve endings are distracted by the heat and they forget the burn. Okay. And so that's what happens over time. But with that said, any time you are uncomfortable, if you've got a sunburn, if you've got a shape, you're always cool. Cool will calm you down and be more comforting. No one doesn't have to be ice cold. It just has to be like warm. I mean, not super no steam in the mirror. And that will be much more comfortable for you. All right. Okay, I like that. You do a good job of making scientific Y things very approachable and understandable, thank you. So moving on, sunscreen, dare I say is a hot topic for our crowd. April asks how important is sunscreen when we're running at dawn and the sun is just coming up..

"I would actually, before you go out for a run, just take a thin coat of vaseline and put it on your entire face. It functions also as a wind barrier, and so, and a moisturizer. So you can protect your skin from kind of wind burn as well as any issues that you're going to have with sweat. And moving on down the body, other great uses for vaseline. You can use them in any area that tends to rub. And so around the armpits between the thighs around the nipples, maybe kind of friction areas. So vaseline, it's readily available. It's cheap and it's awesome. That's awesome. We did something similar to that when I was in I ran cross country in college. We would run vaseline all over our bodies. When it was really cold, maybe it was just because we were taxes runners, I'm not sure. But it's always, it was like an extra layer of protection. I don't know why we didn't just wear leggings. Yeah, exactly, but that was always the go to choice. So I appreciate that that was the answer. Moving on to the next one. What am I good? Yeah, I was gonna tell you just a funny story about vaseline. So in one of my very first races as a novice runner, you don't know things, right? And so you're running through the race and somebody is holding this cardboard out and you think it's like goo or a snack or something so you grab a handful of it. Oh no. That's the way. It was absolutely. They did not taste very good, so it's good to put on, but not too in depth. Oh, goodness. Oh my gosh, and just the whole glob of it in one fell swoop. The whole glob. Oh gosh. I'm gonna gag a little bit just thinking about it. As if the race isn't hard enough..

"And I think COVID and pandemic has done a lot of soul searching, or hopefully a lot of people have done some soul searching over the last couple of years. But this is one of the things I'm like, you know what? Let me just pound this out. And I did, and here we have it. So it was actually published last August. It's on Amazon, and also on my website, joyless skin dot com, and it's a bestseller. I love that. Nice, nice, nice, nice. We'll definitely have a link to it in our show notes. So all right, as I mentioned in the intro, it's TMI month for another mother runner. So we're going to go there. So as we often do, we asked our Facebook community for questions and I tried to group the questions into kind of lose category. So we're going to kick things off with what I'm calling skin bumps. Okay, so Courtney tells us, I find that even as a 40 year old, I get back knee after a sweaty run. I try and shower as soon as possible after running, but sometimes I have other things that get in the way, like getting those kids off to school. What kind of shower gel could I use to help with back and shoulder blemishes? So I would say there's not a specific type of shower gel. It's really just getting the sweat and grime off. And so when you think about it, it's on the back of chest is actually not so much acne. It's more folliculitis. And so what that means, I just means inflammation. And so it is inflammation of the hair follicle that is really triggered by bacteria and yeast. And so very, very, very common in athletes. I've seen it a lot in people who often sit for long periods of time with their back pressed up against a chair. So as an athlete, you're hot, you're sweaty. We have bacteria in yeast normally as our skin flora. You put those two things together and you're sort of like the oven that's producing this little yeast factory. And so what I recommend for patients is make sure that you are number one wearing some sort of a waking fabric, cotton everybody loves cotton, but the problem with cotton is it doesn't, it holds the moisture next to your skin and so you end up with a sticky yucky shirt next to you. So wicking fabric cool max dry fit Under Armour or whatever brand you like. The moisture away from you. So you're actually dryer. But also making sure that you bring a dry, clean shirt. If you have to go pick up the kids or run some errands, get that wet stuff off of you. So keep a dry shirt in your car, get the wet one off, even if your dry shortest cotton, that's fine, at least you're no longer sitting in that sticky sauce. And then because this has been such an issue and a lot of people like yourself, you have to run the errands and you don't get to a shower very quickly. I actually developed a shower in a box. So I have a white that you can throw in your gym bag and it has a little bit of hypochlorous acid in it, which is antibacterial and anti yeast.

"The many reasons a chorus is ideal for me. I press two buttons that I'm off and running, or swimming in cycling. Once I complete my workout, the watch and the app are super easy to use in compatible. Bluetooth connects it to and the workout data seamlessly uploads to the app, where it's easy to scroll and analyze, even for me. Plus, just like syncing from the watch to the app is automatic and instant. So is the transfer of data over to Strava from the koros app. During my back injury, getting kudos on Strava has been making my day, so this ease of use is key. Another reason I'm a loyal koros lover, the battery life of the GPS watch. In normal GPS mode, you enjoy 25 hours of battery life, since switching to core several years ago, I've never been greeted by a low battery when I strap on my koros watch, or worse, having my battery die mid run. The long life battery on my Coro's apex is ready when I am..

"But I've also been enjoying the pool and then suddenly Molly, my best running friend, only this week is like, hey, can I come swimming with you sometime? I'm like, wow. Why have you waited all this time? Have I been swimming for the past 6 weeks to join me? So she doesn't work on Wednesday, she's a veterinarian and she gets Wednesdays off, so we went out there. This morning. That's great. Yeah. I mean, and I realized that swimming's not super social, but it's a long drive to get there. Just being, I think, in the same room as someone is enough. I don't actually think you need to I mean, if you're working out, if you're doing it right, other than running, I guess. Running is one of those few sports where you can do it right and be talking. But for most things, if you're suffering, you shouldn't be gifted gab. All the time. Mine is running. Actually, guess now that I think about running is one of the few truly social sports. Right, right. Yeah, it's not like on the basketball court or the soccer field. No, you can't. Oh, so how's your husband doing? I mean, you can I guess on the soccer field, I was a defender when I played soccer in high school and there is a lot of times where you're standing. If your team's doing it right, if you're on a bad team, do not have time to talk because the ball is always in you on your side of the field. So stop talking they're here. Exactly. Oh my gosh. Yeah, so when she got hopped out of my card and she's like, can I swim with you on Sunday? I'm like, okay, I guess. That's great. Right, yeah. What made her suddenly so interested? I don't know whether her knees bothering her or maybe she desperately missed me. I don't know. It's definitely the latter. Oh, of course. Of course, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah, I have social plans and my younger daughter Daphne's playing on her coed soccer league and we have two games to watch this weekend, so that stuff going on. I'm convinced that once you have children, your weekends are just full. I mean, on your face is awesome. It's on his kids on a certain age. Yes. Well, I'll start there. But like, yeah, once your kids are sports age, I'm just assuming my weekends are gone. Am I wrong? Oh, you are not wrong. No, I mean, Katie are another occasional co host. Oh my gosh, she has three kids all playing volleyball all playing soccer, and at times she has to be at more than one. So they were told that I had to be at more than one place at one time. And I was the child in the sport. We had to pick so let alone the parents..

"It is. But you have been honing your skills on your own podcast. You have. I just launched my podcast last week, actually. It's called the filter free Friday podcast. And I've been going live on Instagram for almost a year now every Friday and kind of giving funny banter and motivational speeches just to live the life that you want to live and I think pointing out some of the commonalities that we all have that no one talks about. Kind of like the TMI moments that we have on this podcast, but and it was just time to make it a podcast. I think Instagram going live, it conducive for longer conversations. So we're really excited to be able to make it a little easier for people to hear my silly witty banter. Yes. And it is. Thank you. I try. I try. So yeah, so I'm really excited. You can find it wherever you listen to podcasts. And it's just, I think, a little bit of, like I said, it's a tough love and laughs. It's a little bit of a little bit of a kick in the butt in the right direction. But I'll do it with a smile on my face, which I'm not sure what that says about me. And are you doing it all yourself? Yeah, so that's a whole different world too. But I thought about having someone help me, but it's one of those things where I would rather try to do it all myself. And if I fail or get overwhelmed, I can always ask for help. But for now, yep, it's a 100% me, just Googling how to podcast. And then, like, no joke.
