I Disagree with the Second Agreement and I Hope You Take It Personally by TK Coleman

"I disagree with the Second Agreement and I hope you take it personally by tk Coleman of tk. Coleman DOT COM. I like to think in terms of alternatives not absolutes that is instead of adopting an either or logic for problem solving and goal achievement prefer to think in accordance with both and strategies. For example, let's consider the notion of taking things personally self help author. Don Miguel Ruiz has done a magnificent job at popularizing and articulating what is often referred to as the second agreement. Here's a summary of the idea in Ruis. His own words quote whatever happens around you don't take it personally nothing other people do is because of you what is because of themselves all people live in their own dream in their own mind. They are a completely different world from the one we live in only take something personally we make the assumption that they know what is in our world and we try to impose our world on their world and quote. I think that's a very useful idea and I found myself in some pretty lengthy discussions where I've defended it to people who absolutely to test this concept teaches own. I suppose. But as for me, my life has been a heck of a lot easier since I started practicing the second agreement as a critical thinker however, I like to keep my options open. Rather. Than treating ideas like the second agreement as dogmas to be believed in a regard them as value neutral conceptual tools whose usefulness varies with context. Sometimes I like taking things personally even when I know I'm not being personally attacked I deliberately choose to act as if I am being conspired against I usually use this idea as a psychological trick for motivating myself. As long as I can employ the take it personally technique in a way that's healthy and isn't obsessive. I derive great practical value from it. Anyone who's ever played competitive spores probably understands concept very well choosing to look at your competition as the enemy or the bad guys can be an invigorating experience. One of my favorite ticket personally stories comes from Michael Jordan before a soldout contest between the New York Knicks and their rivals the Chicago Bulls Knicks, coach Jeff Van Gundy accused Michael Jordan of being a con man who deliberately X. friendly towards opposing players in order to soften them up and gain a competitive edge over them. Van. Gundy's harsh words were printed in Chicago newspaper and Jordan. saw them before the game. He took it personally and decided to play with a chip on his shoulder for the entire game Jordan had a personal vendetta to show van Gundy just how capable he was having a great game without being nice to his opponents. He did exactly what he set out to do by scorching the Knicks for a red hot one points and one point in the game after hitting an important basket Sharon looked at Van Gundy and yelled at him. One of Jordan's team as reported that Michael Love to us, criticism and hatred as a way of motivating himself a sports commentator who knew of this habit predicted that Jordan would score fiftypoints simply because he would be fired up. I've Angolans words. US, right. Jordan took it personally and brought the best out of him interestingly enough. Here's what Jordan said after the game quote. Guess I. Didn't make any friends out there tonight Jordan smiles I. Think those words were more geared to motivating his players but I don't think on the court they have befriended me, I don't go on the court expecting to make friends. But when I leave the court, I don't take what happened on the court away from me. We're only playing a game. I don't view it as a war away from the game and quote. In a video clip. Jordan talks about how he used that moment as motivation while not letting it get to him in an unhealthy way. Jordan disagreed with the second agreement and it worked does illustrates one of my favorite metaphors for life life a game. As an all games achieving one's goals requires the use of effective strategies. A good strategist is one who remains flexible. He uses what works without ever feeling the need to assign the status of costal truth to any of the strategies in his playbook. If taking it personally works good strategists takes it personally if taking it personally leads to stress and self destructive preoccupation with what others think then it strategist stops to him personally. This attitude of philosophical flexibility can be extended to issues and belief systems. Ideas are just tools sometimes are useful. Sometimes are not which ideas of you when you use them, and how you react to the results is your job to sort out as you sorting through the ever enlarging buffet of ideas being offered in the marketplace be should remember the admonition of Terence McKenna quote nobody smarter than you and quote. You know more about what's best for you than anyone else. So don't take anybody's ideas dogmatically specially now mind think critically about everything. Then take what works for you and leave the rest.

"He to- Andy Ruis in the marine before he get out. I will be seeing. Assume from that point own we should not even be talking about him. Possibly not taking fight is new is cool is fine but at the end of the day we should play out. I can't help it if the W._B._Z.. Champ is giving you some advice and letting the cow at a cat out the bag those quotes indicate wild is about to say but no one else he is doing Easter the product. He's the machine by every day so whatever you feel he should do. I would advise him to do it. You know and you think you should have a warm-up. I definitely do he. Housing a bad fashion you know and I see what I'm saying so bad fashion right would you compare deontay wilders draw with fury to Anthony Joshua's loss and the reason I access because obviously there is a contingency of <hes> boxing fans they believe wild loss that fight so they're both categorized that low as losses in the eyes of some so is it on the same level are me. We are an action you. I don't believe <hes> <hes> water absolutely had a better performance indoctrinate on the night even though both outscored a knockdown wider with more devastating if you've got the blessing of a referee who who was not like some of these been seen lately with a quick trigger who allow a fighter to try to get back up in the car will so yeah I think water at Louisiana better performed but that's not saying that that that <hes> Josh within didn't help good spots and by <hes> when the guy with the dental shot we all everything changed so maybe a Joshua Guy got this guy down once I was successful Russell by now I just got log on it but I know what I did and I gotta go back in there and make these days right. That's the bill to go. I'm a World Chevy. I've been a world champion. I I felt that Americans go. I been down and before I let see why. Would I let this away. That's the casualness man dripping offer you bro going with what built my legacy boxing America box repeats. It's a self my box repeats up. This is no different than Tyson fury story and this is what sane this is what separates a good team from great team Tyson fury in the eyes of the public like for all intents and purposes came out the winner of the wild defied and instead his team is directing him to have to tune-ups before FIS facing wilder. Okay let the people you know why is he. He did not get a fair shake but showtime so he wanted to go to a E._S._p._N.. Company way for the backing and the pools a win they do do a rematch. You have enough cachet and maybe not get a draw with water. That's why he went to us and that's all good theoretically Mike but you know what stage verse three of them So. It's not like I'm making that up very sent from his own mouth done so that's all good theoretically fury has no substantial evidence to back that there's is no way that he can assume or quantum fi what leverage a- deal with E._S._p._N...

"I think beating Dion say wilder solidifies, stardom solidifies. But what, what would stop Andy Ruis in his team from AJ not taking this fight, and then all of a sudden they just go, and they it up with a Pevec in or a Carlos, tackle them. I mean I don't like those names because we're talking about stubhub. So I would say my fucking areola Mexican versus Mexican battle the Mexican heavyweight. You give the other heavyweight and opportunity to be Mexican heavyweight, you know, and you bring out all the Mexican so they can know who he is. He beats areola moves on from there. You know, maybe you go somewhere else. I don't know right now. Take. A call thinking a little bit hard. I don't want to say the wrong name after an areola but in areola stubhub. You know, coming home party, who's gonna argue who's going to say, oh, that's a tuna. We didn't argue the fucking AJ was fighting Andy Reid. So why would we argue that India Ruis is going to get a fucking swan, Dan song? You know, in his hometown, he should be allowed if you're just joining in don't forget, the hit the thumbs up with the visibility show lets us know you appreciate what we're doing. "I mean that while we'll get to. Wow. During the second Joshua was a late bloomer. But Tony Joshua's got a glass, chin, this isn't the first time he's been knocked down by somebody. You think where you can't take him out? He's been knocked down like four times. He had Joshua's. But Tony, it's not the heavyweight division is hurting because 'cause projecting forward, they need that division needs a super fight in these fight like the old days with Tyson, Holyfield, or bull. Holy it needs that. And now Deontay wilder who caused Joshua fraud and he looks like he's completely accurate that super fight Tony diminished. I think I hope it will happen. But it's boxing is in much better shape because of this because I think Andy Ruis in his own way, very charismatic. He's a Mexican American which means with the with the passion that next Americans have short game heat, and go to the west coast, he can sell out anywhere and how about this way. Chip of Mexican descent doesn't like these, I've got the auntie wilder. I've got ta. And fury. And I've got Joshua who deserves a rematch in this. I think this is very good for boxing ice. Wanna quote, if I could the great teddy atlas on this fight. He said of Ruis said he just ruined one hundred years of physical fitness, Jack his auto business. Any said Josh was like a tall building in a tall building there. Lot of windows to break and this guy broke all the windows. I don't understand why you think this is bad for boxing. This is more heavyweights people care that. X is fit fitness back on hundred years. That's sentence, alone ought to convince you, I love this guy. Love watching him fight. He's, he's four. I'm happy for him. I want to big heavyweight super fight like the old days. Tony, we really got to sleep with us from and you can build to. Now, this is so dry and kick. I hope you're the KOMO twenty five. Guys kicking each other in the mid may guys. I just hope you're right in the scenario you just painted. When we last checked, in on the Stanley Cup final Jordan bidding tin, and even the series with the Bruins in the blues at every reason to believe he could carry them to their first Cup. But then came a disastrous game three when he gave up five goals. It was yanked out to a seven to Boston victory. Now comes game four and Saint Louis has to put them right back in netface carnivorous, Bruins attack, particularly on the power play should the blues. Tony feel confident with him between the pipes. Tonight confident are you crazy? No. You just went over this, this the testing he gave up five goals. They had to yank him from that game. I know I understand creek, Baru loves them. I understand that. He plucked them off the bench and the guy's been great. I understand he's had Down's back games. This is an absolute must win for the Saint Louis blues at home, where they're not very good. And you're asking me becomes he started out the season? Let me get this straight on the CNN Tonio rampage that could be a team in that for all we know no confidence. No wrong. He six two in the play offs. Tony after a loss. So he made lose what he's also your stopper twelve and two on the season after losing. Okay. Now, I really the first thing they have to do and Saint Louis stop takings. Give a five five, what five goals gave five goes eight Yankees, also six two and twelve and two in the playoffs in regular season after a law. So yes, they're going to Tony..

"All right. Let's dive in even though it's not as popular as it once was, there's something special about boxing, because when you think about it. No sport, is inspired writers for the written page in the silver screen like boxing, has and on Saturday night. We were reminded why somebody name Andy Ruis junior. The third took down Anthony Joshua wasn't there, a character in die hard, Mr. Joshua? Oh, Mr. Joshua was. Weapon, lethal weapon play by Gary Busey lethal weapon, the first one, okay, Mr. Joshua. So whenever I would hear his name, I always think Mr. Joshua member that they took the lighter and they put it under his hand, just to show how tough, Mr. Joshua was that Mr. Joshua was tougher than the Mr. Joshua got in the ring on Saturday night. Because Ruis shocked everyone by TKO with Joshua in the seventh round and the outcome reminded a lot of people Buster Douglas against Mike Tyson because BUSTER was forty two to one underdog. Now, Ruiz's was probably thirteen fourteen fifteen to one underdog. We didn't know much about them, certainly with Buster Douglas, you knew that he had knockout power. You just didn't know if he was going to get a chance to knock out Mike Tyson, Tyson was the biggest star on the planet. So this was a huge moment for boxing and here we have another moment, and boxing has re. Been revitalized a little bit. You're seeing FOX, you're seeing dissolve on you're seeing ESPN..

"It to Joshua. We did film study on Joseph park versus Andy Ruis, you catch that on our patriot page? Patriot dot com for it's last box, invoice and. Ruis let his hands go. But if we're going to believe him if we're gonna give him the benefit of the doubt what he said. Mike is that you know he trained himself for that fight. So we have to believe that he did. And we have to -ssume that this is going to be a better version of him. Do you believe a better version of him exists? I mean with all for built on, I hope that we see the best possible version of and the everybody's in a from what I into today at the press he looks to be known. Looks like he's in good shape note saying that not not like a bodybuilder, but he looks he looks in these shape of from what I've seen with clothes on. I mean if he was trying to himself for the Demetrio fight. I mean, not for each other Parker flies. He says he's Sanchez was busy. You know, I mean one thing that we that we did see in the parking fight, you don't cut off the ring. So maybe if he was in the proper training, then that would have been the first thing that they would have did. So I can't see I can see that, that, that narrative. But but he has to come in tomorrow. And really, really pushed the pace in that not be. So you wasn't timid against Parker. He just wanna let the angle because he was always in Parker's face. He just wins his hands. Go. Yeah. Now man, listen you know, speaking land his hands go the wreak. He's almost Josh almost has ten inches, ten inches on his damn near like. Ten inches in her each almost and almost ten inches in high even though I'm exaggerate he's got about four inches high, but watching the face off, it was like, whoa. That was a huge difference. I mean Andy Ruis is looking all the way up at him. Absolutely. If you then. You know, the Parker was shorter than.

It shows just over twenty two percent of us are considered obese in Colorado that seems a little high, but it's good enough for number one on the list the most obese state in the country. It's always West Virginia. They've got more than thirty eight percents obese people in their state while Colorado is trending lower the nation as a whole not faring. "Insurance policy against that occurrence boat d'oro i just you know i don't see i don't see a lot of risk with him not firing my my biggest risk there is a you know i'm not a huge southern cal player i don't know the you know all the fun points of mick ruis training career and i you know i think the biggest risk with bolt door is just that the trainer although he may be very capable trainer is just that he hasn't been in that situation before i like the moves i see him making you know i i like the way he's training the horse i like the way it's been handled and managed so i don't see any reason to to over emphasize the trainer angle but still that is my biggest concern as far as the horse i think he you know i think it's a really good situation for the door be you're getting a horse in bolt door oh that's a proven top class horse he's run the numbers and he's extremely versatile which is very important in madeira be the get jostled around you cannot you can be three or four lengths further back than you expected to be just because of racing luck and the way things shake out at the break both door should be better prepared than than practically any horse in the race to overcome an issue like that because he you know he can go near the front of needs to he can close from off the pace needs to and he just seems like a tough horse that that that almost always shows up so i feel very comfortable betting him and keying him in the derby i think i'm expecting him to to get a lot of play i him he's eight to one on the morning line i've heard talk about eight to ten to one even twelve the one with him i i don't think that's going to happen i think you know in every day i go to the racist horses make a lot of sense and their bet down below what what you think they're going to be bet i think that happens even in the derby so i think he catches a lot of money and goes off lows morning line but i still think at six to one he's he's.
