"New. See guys from around the league. Stop back there and play all the time so for me. You know to have some kind of mba experience at roker park. Be a pretty incredible thing down the road so what happens hopi showed up there when time. May i mean it's yeah especially whenever you were in the city you heard about guys go into new york and planet. With becoming event you'd have people rushing down there to see. I mean it was. Just it's the coolest place it's just this little place in the middle of upper manhattan and you know in the middle of harlem. It's it's it's really a pretty awesome place. You ever get a chance to go. Check it out. Well how about this. I think how about we do both right. You can do rucker park at a time. Maybe late in the season when the weather. Maybe a little more cooperative right. Yeah and then you could do something in venice in the winter. How about perhaps even a game at the hall of fame site right like. I think that there are a couple of different places. You could potentially do that. How are you feeling about potentially a hall of fame scenario clinton. Don't love that. But i gotta give some shelves to bury in dc. Where's where's my right here team. I've got my slots but yes the other place suggest personally. I don't need the hall of fame. That's what that's what youtube i was gonna say. Clinton was a complete sell out for a second gonna bring up. Dc at all like. Oh man bet is guy through withdraw. Dc i just. I know clinton look all of us. You see a little sunshine here too and you just forget this morning to come back to this with friends like no from state with venezia's icon. There's a movie go watch it. It's fantastic better street. You see this is the difference between me and you guys is You know you guys merely adopted the sunshine in palm trees. I was okay. there's that All right let's move on to some wnba history. From last night brianna stewart sprawled out as the seattle storm beat the connecticut sun in the wnba. "I wish we could do more things in sports. Where real games are played in different situations like right like i think having a football game in a stadium. That isn't one of these thirty two. Nfl stadiums at all. Look the same playing basketball game game. It's not just the same arena. Play one butler right. Play one and a high school. It played aircraft carrier that way college basketball pros because there was something about seeing like aaron judge one of the superstars and the game playing in a cornfield cool. I'd like to see basketball. Maybe get clippers lakers at venice beach or like nets knicks at rucker park those it's asphalt and that allows guys playing street ball leagues the summer. But she will see what broad and those guys playing street ball. I mean i i. i'd love that. I just think the asphalt makes that harder. But i i hope leagues look at that and go. You know what like we can do. It works it works. We can do it. We got a lot of stuff. Look this is the most people we've had sitting outside for our shows forever. It's great to see everybody out here. Thank you all very much. This is almost like almost like a remote. No and you're right. Not crowd ever here. We just sitting and watching. That is very cool by the way. Our first remote is going to be the friday before the first game. We are gonna starting the friday before the first game. We're gonna go back on the road and do remotes every friday. We've got most of them scheduled for the fall. But just so you know we will be back so we are excited for that. It was kind of exciting. You'll put it that email from team instead yesterday and like okay. These remote the remote schedule calendar for eighteen months. Yeah yeah who's next. Let's go to andy andy. How are you andy. Well i'm more head over the sanctum hollywood haley. J. other than that suspended. Lovie w we can't keep breaking rules. Sometimes you get suspended. She put her in the penalty box. Not show up anytime soon but go ahead. You also have an invitation. Referee's not how they can be outside questions that have first of all. I wanna know if you know when big blue madness get is scheduled yet and second. I just had to ask brian. Are they any product. He won't advertised for first of all to your first question. I appreciate the call big fan. I've not seen a date yet. It's always around the same time which is the weekend. That's next october fifteenth. So you could probably assume. It'll either be the weekend before october or the weekend after october fifteenth. I've i've heard. Uk will release their full schedule. Probably next week okay. So i think we'll get the full basketball schedule likely next week..

"That field. That was fun. I got us to thinking what would be your dream sporting event if you could do something similar to what baseball did last night booger listening for me. This is easy. I wanna be able to step on the i t at augusta national and have them announced my name as a guy who's competing in the massive. That'll mean two things one. I get an opportunity to win a green jacket number two. That means i would've qualified my golf game would have drastically improved from where ted now. So if you could put me anywhere on earth competing clanging a sporting event. How could you not be augusta. Jeremy come on grass mike augusta and now in the i t from winsborough louisiana. Two time major champion bogert mcfarland and the crowd goes crazy. Which did you know. I don't wanna know they look. You better get practicing jeremy. I'm trying to envision. I like it. But i'm gonna go rucker park i want. Nba games in rucker park. I want to be there. As lebron james and the lakers and jaanus and all these guys get right off the subway walk up to one hundred fifty fifth street. Endless trash talk. That's not suitable for children against those players and they gotta play a march madness style. We're talking sixteen teams single elimination sweet sixteen stock. See where it goes a good one. Mike t ironically. I would be out of gusta. But i would be there as a spectator spectator watching phil mickelson and tiger woods. Coming back and playing a round together in augusta just as a fan of sports and competitions to see those guys at augusta would be something special. Augusta must be somewhere special I have yet to go there. But i'm guessing you guys have been since you feel that strongly about it. Maybe we'll all get to play there someday. Wouldn't that be a dream. Come true to have a forum and this has been a dream. Come true you guys Thanks for joining me and Thanks for being here on. get up. We'll be back on monday for more but for now we're going to send you over state..

"Thing and judging by the reaction. This morning everybody loved it and probably you know what i think everybody like me. Who isn't a big baseball fan. Because of the entertainment value that was thrown in. I think so drives people into the national pastime baseball while they locked out with a great game but also something cool finally. It was what what i found that to be. The greatest thing. Other than kevin costner showing up in the the actual baseball players walking onto the field coming. All the corn was awesome. Great but watching them hit the whole bronze into the cornfield. That was the coolest thing. I'm like it so cool was excellent like pipe eyeball. It was just like you know we are back in the day like these farm kids. You just used to play in cornfields. It did it made it to the big reminded me of our wiffle ball games in the backyard in the woods skits homerun triple place later. Everybody has their own house rules. All right if it hits the tree foul in our case if it hit the gutter. It was second base. Yeah so it was. It was interesting to watch. So they've already said that they're gonna have More of these things at least one next year. So this'll be like an annual event for sure which is cool. That's good. that's good for america. How do they pick the teams. i don't know. Are they going to pick like who won the white sox. So do they get to go back and defend their title at the field of dreams per prices have different teams every year. I think i don't know who knows but they've already said yeah. It was a big hit. Big ed i loved it. That was it was really cool. Other than kevin. Costner was it was just a scotia pouring although i i i do like all punishment. Psych come on liven it up a little. Their kids probably just one question to answer this. I think i heard you. Is this heaven. I i crowd. They were loud about the size of land league baseball stadium. That's something i learned to not the actual field from the that's next door. It's a whole everything. Oh so they built another one out kitty corner to it. So major league baseball built okay. They did to make sure that's cool. Things still fun to see the baseball's go into the corn shot. And they you know you could see the house in the background when they did the aerial shots and then they have. I know they have a gift shop now. The going by staff so it was called putting dyers ville on the map cool. I think we need things like that. These days what did they do at that facility for the rest of the year i know in the winter. You can't use it. But i mean like in the spring and in the summer do they have college teams. Go in there like tournaments. I think they do. I think they do actually because he's used so. I mean you could tell us what well-maintained so i don't know if there's i don't think it's the t. The immediate neighborhood is big enough to have a minor league team right and because they need like facilities. This'll tells dubuque have won. I mean you never know. it's you're the. The baseball are sports director over there. Come on don't give me too much credit. I'd have to look up different. Minor league affiliates and nuts short. Maybe the maybe that's place there. I don't know that's right. It really is a nice thing. It would be cool if they because you know they have the outside game for Hockey that's that new year's is classmate and now they have this for baseball a specialty thing to break up the season a little bit look forward to absolutely so maybe maybe they tried to this in basketball or football like maybe football do a friday night lights type game or basketball you do. Something at rucker park are all the nba. We'll just have it in beijing right you know. Just have it at Find the not a problem. Good played football and a baseball field. I have to build a football field. Oh jeez the dolphins used to do it forever in. Joe robbie multi use stadiums. I kinda miss those. I know it was. It was always the first five weeks of the season when like somebody makes a tackle with a shortstop. Normally i go to miss those. It was tough on kickers but yeah it was fun. Good tackle on third base line. Hey tropical storm. Fred is going to be a thing. It's a depression right now. What does it mean for us on. Mostly the east coast and really most of florida. A lot of rain blobs. Yeah they're talking about a flood watch until at least tomorrow night Sixty five percent chance of thunderstorms today and then it jumps to like a ninety percent chance. They said some parts of south florida further south like miami date area key and then monroe county key west and then if you know anybody in the west coast could see up to one to seven inches of rain as it looks right now. It's going to go what i would be concerned about. It looks like it's going straight up the gulf and it's gonna hit like louisiana. I'm thinking poor louisiana. It's that poor state gets whacked. Really they always say that potential is really gain strengthened. The gulf hope. That's not the case but it could be. We're going to talk to dennis falcon. Wha what do we know. Eight thirty are eight. Thirty three ish nikki from the hurricanes hill. Let us know what You know we're all the rain is going to be and what we're going to expect. He's a nice guy. Do you remember yelled at us last year. Is we mentioned models. Oh don't model beginning spaghetti like okay. I look at the spaghetti model. I'm sorry. I still look at the model. Well what's the alternative you look at a cone. The covers the entire western hemisphere. It's telling me that's more informative while you know what because that way you can be wrong right why they yes like the cones eight hundred miles wide come on sees some good news brittany yesterday. The free brittany crowd and really this is the whole issue about conservative ships. She you got a big court win. Well it was actually out of corker. A dad stepping down. Yeah but you know what. I see this. I am so skeptical boy. I gotta stop being so skeptical. Skeptical came say the word this morning. Anyway I think it's because something's going to come out And it's not gonna make him look it's going to make him look even worse than what he looks like so far he tried to put it off that It here public. Life shouldn't be played out in her. Private life shouldn't be played out in the public. Life bob by the army got some dirt on him. Yeah i who knows what they got on it. But he's stepping down either that or he stepping down knowing that she's going to go down in flames and then he's gonna come back and say this is why i was the conservative One of the to at least. That's my theory. It's amazing how people like well. People like me normally have no interest in celebrities. Well i do like bernie come on now but are interested in this thing. Because i think we're finding more and more these conservatives are it's wide open for abuse really is you know what when it comes to money. It brings out the worst in people know. Seen it a thousand times. And you're right it's usually it will boy things get ugly families turn against each other like there's no tomorrow like okay for a couple of thousand bucks now worth at fettes. Was that well. More than a couple of thousand is more. Like millions kelly clarkson but she got a big win while she was taping a show. Yes you matching finding out you one and you got all your property back wile. You're like at work. And she celebrated. I give her credit. She celebrated with a lot of other famous people. Talk about that coming up next. And it looks as though we're sending troops back into afghanistan Rescue mission bill. Oh no don't call it that.

Usa there were many who were surprised. Kevin durant decided to play the tokyo olympics to those who know him. They would have been surprised if he didn't durant missed a year and a half with his achilles injury suffered in two thousand nineteen. He didn't get to try to win. That lasts tied with the warriors. He didn't try to get to make title run in the bubble his first year with the nets so when durant was presented with a chance to win a third gold. The idea of staying on the sidelines was ridiculous to him. Durant has everything you can in the world of basketball scoring titles. Mvp's finals mvp's nba. Titles olympic golds world cups. His resume is impeccable. He has nothing left to win and nothing left to prove but he loves playing the game. Some players try to avoid getting hurt to durant the hurt. His void plumbing was the same reason that ten years ago this week he showed up at rucker park and left everyone who saw him put up sixty six points with an unforgettable experience..

"You Don't be listening. I'm gonna go back to something, right? Yeah, I'm gonna go back to something that you know my Junior varsity basketball coach. Told me he was a redneck from East Texas. Is it? Listen when it all comes down to it? Just don't leave the White boy open and I think we've gotten away from that. You just need to stick to it. If you see the white cat, and he's he's about to get the ball and he's about to lock and load. Don't just sit there and go. You know what? He might miss it? I won't get the rebound. Got to get out on, it least gotta close out ownership. You just stand there watching shooting, absolute respect. They will destroy And, you know, I think we've talked about this before like somebody's dues, too. These ain't Americans, right? Like none of these people are seven for a place of today. Scared you like very about you. The millionaire's Anyway like very chilly and you got all Gucci. Hey, scare. Do you know these days? Like, like, I don't know what this is here, like Caruso is playing well. Tyler Heroes player. Will Goran Dragic's later You can tell that that is a little bit of the mindset like manually making that, all right. You're making this up. Are you not wearing that again? Are you gonna go f everybody? Because in the bubble, nobody lifted like that. You okay? World just like she looks edgy, and it looks like he's gonna bring a do not breaking Dalio. It is not happening. He's ready for the whole seven every time. It is how he's doing so you that you gotta bring it with them. Do that has got straight, embarrassed, talking talking. Maybe you'd better watch out. That's a Slovenia and Serbia coming to you, too. You know what's funny, Marcus is. I know for a fact is people listening on Oh, You talking about the white that look, I was a white guy. And and I know, I know. I know this. I know the stigma that comes with that guys Don't think you can play. In fact, Marcus. I don't know if I ever told you this. I told Larry and Rod this Ah Another white guy. It's even white guy. White gay crime in the N B A back when I played Larry Bird a two way get ready. We're getting ready to put the Celtics and Larry jump ball left around. And I'll stand right next to him. And it was Larry Me and Chris a leftover it, Chris and he said, right in front of me. You're gonna guard me with a white guy on guy looked at, Larry, Go don't have to son make a living man about Larry. I'm actually happy that it's a great story. Just handing it in around of us Suffer damage like he was huge seven. I really wished I really wish the modern player like New Larry, but Larry Bird, destroy you and take absolute pleasure out of it like he wanted you to underestimate because he was about to embarrass your family name and hey, was incredible. Me did some of the city one of the greatest stories ever. Larry Bird He's planned Atlanta apparently, and he bet a ball boy. Yeah, 20 bucks that he would banking at three before the game was over. And at the end of the game he hadn't banked in the three Yet. That was like a minute left in Atlanta is up by one. He comes down banks of three to go up to and looks over the ball, boy and go. That's 20 with the game on the line. The dude's like on a bank, this three and I'm getting my 20. That was Larry Bird. You do it to a ball boy. He would do it to you. He did that He dog Atlanta once, are you when you got 60? Oddly enough, the game within New Orleans. I think they were building on near something happened, but the game was in New Orleans. And he was on fire. He told Kevin Kevin McHale got like 50 for a week before and he checked out. He told Kevin McHale. You might want to take it all to get all you can. You might want to get to 60 like Nam. Good. Larry's, like, all right, I'm going to take your record there. So he going to get 60 and the whole Atlanta been here in every shot there, like all the big looking like Rucker Park Every time you make a shot, it was so bad. Everybody got fine. Larry Bird had a hole. He had the other team cheering for him. That's how crazy he was killing his own like it was That new was of such a savage. He went like people. People underestimate Larry Bird, Like, you know, I know LeBron great and you talk about all the broads before. Listen, Larry Bird was an absolute savage and he did three of that. He was always He always had the dagger three to you and tell you what he was going to dio. He would direct. You would just tell you and then he would do it. I guarded him one time. Ah, guess you'd call guarding. And we're in. We're playing at home here in Oakland, and he came off a little baseline screen was Let's see Love, shoulder turnaround jump shot and I went up to challenge it. And I don't know why I said this. It's so college to say something like this, but it is said it, he turned on and shot it. And I went up and challenges shot and I yelled shot. And while the ball was in the air, he goes. Yes, it is and turned around trump confirmation on you like that thing, man. You are killing this guy. This guy Marcus, you'll back me up on this the highest compliment. The black community play pays.

"For that community. Just give them a phone call before he would have made the announcement. So I joined. IVs asked this question. I don't know what I'm going to get. With no fans in a bubble. Will the game look like Rucker Park? Well, it kind of have kind of a one on one and one tour. You know, a little hot dog too. It will it be Not as emotional NBA fans are right on top of players. I don't even know what it's gonna look like. What do you suspect? Basketball will look like with no fans. What it did. Fans elevate Brevin your commitment to defense. Did they elevate your game? Did they distract you? What is basketball gonna look like with no fans in a bubble in Orlando? You look extremely different and extremely out of place. And you talk about duty? Yes, The fans means everything to our games from when we were little kids and most most people, there are your family that yelling that you and as you move higher and your visibility came or you play on bigger stages. There's been those fans for home. It is what gives you that little bit of loose. You may not be there that night, and then you look up. You see, everybody's energizing your insulin for the away teams. When you're in that it is howto. I silence those. That's your joy in that night. How do we get people leaving at the end of the third quarter? How do we get them sitting on their hands? And all you hear is r r r side that screaming on the floor, so the fans will be sorely missed. It will be an entirely Different environment, but what I think you'll get it. You'll get more of those one on one matchups because in some way, shape or form they got to create. An environment And how do you create an environment that is now you bring up personality, So I think we'll see those guys that have Ah little bit of that street swag that had that. We'll have a little bit of apart mentality and them that had the mano a model matches. I think we'll see more of that, because the way that they'll have to create some excitement. In the arena, So it's interesting. You you went to Stanford, and I'm a believer that I don't think college basketball is bad at all. I think it gives a kid a chance to Meet students from all over the globe. You Khun! Grow up college for me wasn't about academics. Clearly it was more about meeting meeting people write but s over you and Stanford. I'm you, prime it a lot of really fascinating people. And now the culture has changed. John Marantz just too darn good to be in college forever. But I want to talk about John Moran because he is a spectacular talent. On. He played college basketball, and nobody watched him and now I think he's he and Zion are going to be potentially. The two faces the league going forward for those who don't sit and watch Grizzly games. Tell me about him as the person as the player what you saw so far on John Moran. Well, what I what I appreciate about him was he didn't come in with an heir that I am the number two. Pick this marking We have some veteran guys that was still around, and he allowed the event event the voices of the team, but he still lead by example, how he played the game. He's stoked up that knowledge from those guys talked when he needed to talk. Listen when he needs to listen. And he has an X factor that guys want to follow us. So they understanding of I didn't have to be brash. I don't have to force people with my voice. Get down. When I want to get done. I could do it by my actions. And then they followed his leave, even though these ago have been in the league for a number of years. The next thing that that I I took away from him was the ability to communicate with his players when he needs to get something accomplished. And when they needed a pat on the back, not very often that you see young guys. Have that awareness of when I need to say something to you when I need to pat you on the back when I need to get a guy that basketball. He had that awareness from the outset and a lot of that, I think goes to the fact that He was never given anything..

John Salley has joined us on sports byline eleven years in the NBA One NBA championships on the Pistons two of them to be exact one with the Chicago Bulls, and then his fourth championship coming with the Lakers. Of course you've seen him and movies. You've seen him on television. just a very well rounded person. You alluded to when we were talking a little bit earlier about we're. Basketball came into your life. Talk to me a little bit about how important that was. Did he give you a structure? That was important in your life. That even carries forward. Today John I a I'm writing a book Matter of fact, she lives up. Here closed Oakland's. He's from the name Raven Whims, and it's called a refrigerator magnet theory why fault is the new F word because everybody wanted to blame somebody else, and it's dispersant fall without understanding that it may be just how you built. The do what you do and in basketball, I the chapter that I'm. That I'm painting is about how basketball has four quarters how you have ups and downs, INS and outs. You have people who are on your team. People you're going against. You got referees. You GotTa own is you've got crowd you got? Nay, says you got. It depends on what part of your life you're in. The second quarter of Ulli. Then everybody runs into the halftime. Some men call it. You know midlife crisis. You run into that halftime. You can have a fix your situation in the locker or you can worsen it. If you if you dwell on what you did wrong as opposed what you're GONNA do better in the next half year life third quarter, the first five minutes of the third quarter basketball I five years between forty and forty five most important time. it really when people change and when they make make money and make choices, and you know as one of my friends said you know. He used to be a guy that went out and played around me and Vegas. Do we do that you do this. You know whatever you're married, not married. He goes I retired. I thought that was I was impressed retired from chasing broads. He goes I'm. Just at home every night with my kids and my wife. That's that's my love and it. It took a lot. You know guy was of age, and then you get to the fourth quarter and you try to extend it. You're trying to do the best you candidate. A double zeroes come. That's life so basketball Detroit game a life and not football because you know you run into people because you want to savage's. Baseball is too long. Hockey. I mean you know. Brothers starting to play now, but you know man that ice cold, psychotic want to get into the field too big and too much flopping, so basketball is definitely gave a life I know in New York in the inner city Philadelphia Chicago those type of cities. The the game in the summertime on the hard top on the blacktop is something very special. Take me back there and give me. Me Kind of a a sight sound smell tour of a game in the summer in new. York City on the playground great radio. Let me tell you I love this show. This is what happened. I'd never played in Rock and let me tell you why I didn't play record, because the greatest and best play the Rucker Park, but then if I wasn't playing against the greatest the best. That would bother me, and I would best thing about playing the eighties as I got to play against, I mean the eighties and nineties and two thousand I got to play against Larry Bird. In his six year, I got to play against Magic Johnson I got to pay a chemo logical on Kevin McKell Paris. DJ Kareem abdul-jabbar Worthy I played against Clyde. Drexler paid in the best time. When you in park I would get on a train maybe two hours because I lived way on a fire and a Brooklyn and I play the Gauchos in the Bronx and I would go to practice up. There would take me two hours by train every day. So when kids talking about, can you drive me? I get pissed off. Hey, driving, you know place and I got up there and I'm from Brooklyn, which is already you don't do that. You Brooklyn don't come in the Bronx. Bronx in Brooklyn I get there, and I'm playing against some of the best players in the world I'm playing in Queens and I'm playing in Manhattan on Sunday morning, so I couldn't go to kindergarten. My Mom's had to beat it. Says I'm on a train beat at nine. o'clock I'm on a train at seven. On Sunday so I played three hundred sixty five days for two years I, Louis? Two years in a row did not miss a day of basketball, and when you're against the best and the best of the best. All of a sudden when I got to go to college and I'm playing against people like man. You could really play I was like you know just doing comedy I stole that move. This kid in Queens had this status that move I. Just did it on you and you went for it. It was the education I was getting on that Park to the point where sometime I couldn't play in a regular gym I was used to be in our side. You know what I'm saying. People yelling at you. Kids playing over that Oh sounds you. Don't get an inside, and you can't take charge on on heart. You just don't take a charge on concrete and slide on your back. That's that's what happened. You try to stay off the ground, but there's a lot of body, and it's like a the difference in sometimes you play in the gym. You Can Russell in St Basketball. You can only box because if you take off the dunk, the guy's GonNa move out of your way. And if he doesn't try to his hand on. My mentality when I'm on inside of gym to. But then these guy would step up and try to charge and I would go. I'M GONNA. Put My knee around your neck and then going to dunk on you. The same way I wouldn't street so that feeling of you can smell the making the. Bob's conditions on this side. You can hear the. Ice Cream man, you hear girl yelling for somebody else you see the swings, indices, stars, and you here in the guys talking on the court jibbidy Jabber Javid Jibbidy Jabber. I learned to talk. Smack in the street. Because once you do it in a park. You bring that into the gym. I can talk a guy of his game. In a second I get in the game. I was like Oh trouble. You GotTa Guard me today. Yeah my God said he was sick earlier. That kind of stuff you, don't you, don't you? Don't get. To the gym you get that from play it on the street I. Don't think there is a better seen in sports than the to be in the inner city and be on a playground, ten guys, five shirts, five skin, ninety five degrees, ninety five percent relative humidity, the sun has set, and they're going at it, though of course the best time to lie and you know, and and this is the. The best thing this is this is and I'm gonNA. Take you back on what everybody think about this? This is a literally fencing, but like Roman, like like an English diamond medieval time right so when you see you see the tutors and you see them calmly going along and and they'd lanting one another. I That's what it is is the women who are around the court in the inner city. And, Holden guys bag and you are destroying him on the court and his girl is watching. You destroy him on the court. Do you know how less time you had? When you turn around? Your bag may be there by itself ravaged. Went through your bag because your girl did just left with a guy who destroyed your car. You odd seriously on the court defending your honor as a man. If you're woman will be going one of the things that I have heard about the the inner city is is that when there are athletes with particular sports talents.

"Trent dilfer on next hour talking about two of who he helps train and talked about last week. He got some pushback on that. I am a fan of to not because a trend but I do think. Drew brees had an early injury in his career. The Dolphins said no thanks. Look were there at the Saint said. We'll go for it. Look were there Patrick. Mahomes had college injuries. I think you have to be careful just running from injuries players get hurt in this league carson. Wentz has been hurt in college in the pros. Aaron Rodgers has been hurting the pros and they're still getting massive contracts. I guys got talent or not to talent business. I have a quarterback I like. My job is to protect them on the offensive line and through the draft and free agency. I'm GonNa roll the dice on quarterbacks with injuries 'cause I've seen so many people go what about Sam Bradford Sam? Bradford wasn't that Good Tim. Bradford's not as good as to a SAM. Bradford is not as good as Patrick. Mahomes yes he got hurt but also would make good so mark Cuban NBA owner of the Dallas Mavericks. A big fan of him came on the show about two weeks ago. It was great. He said yesterday. It's not inconceivable to me that we are going to have an NBA with no fans. He goes. I'm being optimistic. I'm not a doctor but I do believe we can play without fans. Brian Windhorst at the place I used to work says the. Nba's looking at twenty five day window to return and they know they've that would feature eleven days individual workout social distancing measures and then fourteen days of team training before Return Games. I think the NBA can return July first officially and still get the season. Because I think I'll just tell you this. I think the football season could get pushed back to the first week of October which would allow the NBA. More Room to operate so start training camp July for this whole thing's fluid a month ago. I didn't think the NFL season college was going to get pushed back. If you ask me today I think there's a twenty five percent chance you move it back another month. College universities mood back another month. But let me just say this. The NBA is uniquely qualified to play without fans because NBA players are performers most NBA players. Played a you basketball. A majority of a U. Basketball Games are played in front of under fifty fans they are. There are some all star tournaments the night games. Go look at the. Ncaa Tournament the conference tournaments on the weekend before March madness the early games you know Providence against Paul at noon Eastern. Nobody in the stands go look at March madness the first two or three days of it early afternoon games. There's nobody in the fans but basketball players are performers and there is no equivalent to the Harlem globetrotters in baseball or football or hockey or soccer. But it works in basketball. You're out there in an exhibition just performing for the crowd and I think performers the better the performer the greater chance of surviving Howard. Stern is going to be through this. He just had his biggest interview in several years. He's a performer. Actors at actors. Netflix Amazon prime are hitting out of the park. They've never ever have. We had more performance. Instagram live shows concerts on zoom instagram. Dj's performers can get through this because of all the digital platforms. Now that are available to stuff through your home similarly to NBA players. We don't think baseball players as performers. In fact there's a way to play the game. They almost diffuse personality the NFL. You have to memorize a playbook. It is choreographed based on the coaches needs and whims basketball's not that way go to New York City Rucker Park go go youtube but today those aren't basketball games. Those are performers go to Kevin Durant Rucker Park Video. That's not a game. It's a so eas magician. He doing tricks on a stage basketball. Does that basketball? Not only does it. But in braces that so the idea that you just couldn't NBA players in an arena and have no fans and they wouldn't perform this is always been first performer sport. I would argue that an NBA game without fans would be loose. Would be wild. Would be fun. It would be individualistic. I think it'd be harder to coach him. Because it would feel like you know you would feel like practice and guys do people talk about. Oh you should have seen Michael Jordan at practice. Oh you should have seen Dr J. at practice. Oh you should have seen the move. Durant does at practice geyser more willing as performers to roll the dice on stuff and once you put fans in the arena. The coaches barking TV cameras. There he a little little more restrictive. Perhaps so I think basketball's ideally built for it. I think they would flourish in it. That said probably under fifty fifty ever going to have an NBA season. The good news. It was already started and you could start playoffs day. One don't have to worry about the regular season. Baseball hasn't even started yet calling right Colin wrong. Next one more heard the heard streams twenty four hours a day seven days a week within the iheartradio APP. "The coast of meal. Gordon still thinking about so you to Campbell So now I. This is all segment. We call rock or flop one. This is the first shoot. I have in rock or flop that I'm Coleman into it before I even tell you to shoo. I'm going into insane. Rock right come on yes let me tell you. It is the Joran threes. Unc Out on March seven or can do that. Yes and not only. Is it so clean? I think the concrete on it is highlighted by that Carolina blue if anybody's fans of the Jordan three which I clearly am you'll realize that in every color way to Jordan three. It seems like a little bit different things like a little bit brand new with this one hands down. I gotta get it. He comes out march seventh. My anniversaries marsh naive so just in case my wife is listening. I really really want those shoes. But here's here's what rumors have it right now right now. Pre sales actually kill it and reseller game has been taking off the shoes absolutely. They are right now. I sorta on stock aches going at two thousand. Currently I saw him on another website at six grain six grain so obviously there is tons of people who are. Roomie is an absolute rock in the absolute best thing about his threes. You can wear it like normal three wear jeans. You know sweats anything whereas you're worried. Go out on a date night you. I've seen people wearing threes with suits man and it's very disappointing in a normal consumer. Joyti sneakers man because there's people there buying bots these major corporations and getting and you won't CDs in Rela regular civilians hands now nine long Yup. And unless you're hype the Cadillac. How we are probably going to be out there looking for how to get him. I I am I just like that all right so so the next one. I WanNa go onto I gotta go ahead and give a shout out because the orioles the PG for Oreos Nah Okay Okay. Now what did you think about the PG? The Paul George Four Orioles Rock or flop rob. Calloway like I said before the Qalaway it is very simplistic in style. Much like myself with the style of the colors and PG four it is it is abolish shoe. It is a mall. I must admit that if if if you want to ball and and there was a shortage of shoes debt shoot it translate from High School College the pro and estalish i. I've foot for athletic purposes. I definitely go ahead and say yeah. That's a rock bought where it outdid. I want something a little bit understated because remember on the inside of the shoe is going to be all black and it's going to be widened. One outside I want something. Kinda like zone. Freaks got the same color way of Oreo. But it's not overly done with the black and white but check this out. Yeah some banging wide jeans black. You're Y shirt shirt. Nice t-shirt Nice Nice through. Would a brim come on coast terminus? Not Awesome GonNa have to wait. Wait for work. Can't wear white after Labor Day. So and he. He zoomed when you talk about what at least with that outfit and houses. That sounds like a very fly alpha especially the white button no I'm gone as revived. So there's a route for you. It's wrong for me on court. Is Iraq off Cortisol Flop? I'm GonNa say I'm sorry. Maybe maybe what I'M GONNA do is. I'm going to have to go in store amount to take a look at them close up get the feel of obscene. I'm on my feet. See them on in. Sor Furs maybe that's what we're GONNA have to do. And if I do feel like that I will personally go ahead and go onto our instagram video. And all that yes. I will rock it but until then for flop. On-court is Iraq encore so semi flop semi flop movie. Okay I but guess what everybody. Who's old school? I want to let you know that NYC is returning with the Nike flights eighty nine. Yes Sir and way that they're going to be doing is in a rucker park addition. I absolutely love this concept. I loved his shoe. The shoe is detailed for a basketball enthusiasts. Anna eshoo enthusiasts. I swear they made shoe for me. They might as well call it. The coach drool once goes to the shoot I. The lace holder on chill has a little basketball team. The insole of the show is the actual court absolutely. Yes so the back. The back heel would form the three point line okay. So that's the insult of the show. Then you have. The shoe is a beautiful white and and spalding arledge. So it kind of stands out with the beautiful flight going across the tongue to give you that nineteen eighty-nine field with the flip up hat and board shorts. Absolutely that is hands down. That is something that I can rock I could see myself rocketed jeans. I could see myself wearing the nineties. Look with the double socks has pulled down shorts or something. I can see myself do I. You know what I'll even throw it back in the overall shorts. What about to? What about the cutoff master? With a look at me. I cannot wear cut off muscle shirt. That's not I would say. It was sold separately. That muscle shirt get back here hearing the various kind of windy. If I wear Muslim shirt I will take flight. They winded down. We floated up so no shirt but but I have a feeling because I do have three years so I think I could way to measure the chain okay but other that I know. But you won't awesome with those shoes. Are Mill back in the day? What was your test for grip on on the court? Remember the do you wipe. Oh Yeah I yeah and if it if it checked out those are good to go go but the fights the fights had the best. I've ever played with you here in the gems. Absolute those were. Those wasn't more about look more about function and I really liked those shoes back. Then and so with eighty nine flights coming back with that Rock that Holcombe Rucker field. I think it was a great time for it to drop especially right at the end of black history month because I feel that is black history rucker on the whole has been black history for New York and the United States in NBA is is is pretty much a grassroots organization over absolutely. I still remember the footage of Kevin. Durant is going nuts. You know and Lebron Gobble. Yeah he did. There was just like crazy on people. Do that people got a surprise for you. Would you go? I got surprise. Show for you come on to Jordan. Fours is coming out with a neon. Angry addition Oh yes almost like the airbag ninety five. Now you know they'd got the Save airbags ninety five. The Jordan fourth got an Stewart. Yeah Man I will some of those dynamics out of five four world and I got in the shower with I'll shower shoes and I stepped on something and I got a foot infection right allow and may I walk around. I know these shoes can fit. My Foot has wall up in our refused to shoes. So that is how much. I feel about their color way. So join four. Wow Man you had to cut those off me man. You May may do guy. Zoom is a definite rock. 'cause YOU WANNA Zulus afoot with couple of inches you know. Don't tell this talk delays. Y'All know y'all know. I'm not the only one more code Louis. C. J. T. This guy hopping around rest assured that other foot has the Jordan three. If they've away big there you go well socks off. No matter in those towns for me is a rotten even to all one foot for JD. I thought I'd write killing the waste of yes. Yes and that's why you have to remember pariah pass before you leave your dresser room absolutely make or have someone to tell you the truth. I April the emperor has no clothes Russell. Westbrook is always on the cutting edge of fashion. And this outfit right. Here is very borderline to me. I would. I'm GonNa tell you. Here's here's what I'm going to cause the first two outfits. I'll say it now as fashion forward as Russell. Westbrook is Iraq. Everything except for that shirt. I can't do the shirt I like like the pants. I like the shoes. I like the combination of how we look. Even the hat is amazing. The shirt makes me feel like I'm Claire Huxtable and season six of the cosby show. We are looking at this properly. I'm telling you say let's say we learned this guardrail but that is so for me with that outfit. I would say halfway. That's it that's it. That's looming accident is very questions. Yes these guys when companies tunnels or when it gets there saying you know what? I don't WanNA MESS HIM UP TODAY. Yes Russell. Westbrook and James Harden literally sits in the room. Say What are they going to write about what what could I wear? That's going to have them talking. Last town says Dean says we talk on scar him. Now yes I t's the scarf now. I'm like what are you doing a show me up? This person ingle rocket our rocket. Absolutely dead if you WANNA wear a bed sheet around her neck where bedsheet around your neck. That's that's all right. Everybody needs to do so but let me ask you a question. Last two hundred out of shoes we talked about last two hundred which now let's just say that the Jordan three UNC's you're able to get it at retail so at retail. We're talking about what thing one ninety. Yes one ninety two we would fall into the last two hundred. So we've got the Jordan Dri. We have oreo yet to orioles. Pg Oreo area and we have the only have the one. Call Oreo the Greek Greek freak..

"And I know you guys are really going to enjoy this. Here's my conversation with Nancy Lieberman. Start with what you're doing now and I can't help a wonder what's it like when you answer the telephone and ice cubes on the other end? Is ridiculous. Because like the first thing he does like the how'd you get my number? I'm skewed. Okay. All right. So you can't be there and it was one of the cool thing. I mean, look, I've had a really full life with amazing people. I'm blessed beyond recognition and to have this man, as my boss or for him. You know, to hit me with the text, you know, hey how you doing? Or at my, my Nancy lemon charities dream Bali event in February we honored him in Dr J and in his speech he called me, his spirit animal. And I'm like that's good. Right. Like. The good thing nobody's ever called me fear at animals before he goes, we're, we're so much alike. And you, you know, she's a bike girl from New York. I'm obliged. I have not lay, you know, we go over things we go around things we go under things. Sometimes we just gotta go through. I love this guy. He's, he's censored super cool amazing human being. I'll leave it at that. He is. He's unbelievable. And I know that you were in your in your adult young adult years. When he and his peers, just blew up and completely changed music. I mean, they were revolutionary in what they did as musicians as artists, how much did you listen to NWEA and cube, and Dray, and all those guys in their early years as artists, and your early adult. You're so for me, obviously having grown up in New York and spending a lot of my view of playing in the inner city in, in Harlem in Brechfa park, I was obviously very attuned to wrap you know, run DMC and for me. It was a little cathartic because we all have something, and I could listen to their music. And sometimes here, they're paying because of some of the things that all went on with me in my childhood with, you know, no father, and food, and no electricity. And there were times, like eight nine ten twelve I felt hopeless and helpless, like e you get to see the kind of define that version of a human being. And I didn't know what was going to happen. And so I felt they're paying I feel Eminem's pain in his music even today. So I had they're, they're very relatable to me on many levels, and people go, come on, man, you're sixty or white woman. Why? No. I, I know what I am. But thank you for identifying that, but I'm also a human being, you know, that's fallible that has overcome stuff too. But I'm I am. We're I'm supposed to be in my life, busy with the good Lord wants me. And it's, it's like it's not a mistake, Marnie that you and I are doing this, this interview today. You know, in your podcast, I mean, I admire great people. I admire your work. I've said it before we came on air. I love your humility. I love how grateful you are. But I just like how people respond to you, and, and that's reflection of the man, you are. Well, that's, that's. It's kind, and, and it's, it's a humbling, it's humbling to hear that and thank you. I've been really fortunate to be placed in positions where people believed in me and gave me opportunities might not have deserved. But I'm a guy that if you give me an opportunity going to maximize it and kick damn doors down. I'm not afraid to try, I'm not afraid to crash and burn because I tried. And a lot of people in bless me in that. He would be his spirit animal, you would be Q spirit animal for your attitude of what you just said. You said something a moment ago that really struck me. So you're this young woman in New York, and you're playing at the world famous Rucker park. I can't imagine what that must have been. Like I can't imagine playing Rucker park period, but especially being a young woman in that era. What, what was that, like? Well, it obviously, there was one of me, but I remember it eleven or twelve years old taking money out of my mom's wallet to, to take the train from Tareq way change change in New York, and then take the e into Manhattan. Get off at a hundred and fifty fifth and you know, Malcolm X boulevard and walking into the park, and I would I would take the train, and I'd have a t shirts in my jacket. So I look bigger on the train, and I would just glare at them. Them, you know, like my blue eyes and red hair, like do it to them before they did it to you and these guys in the park. It's really a phenomenal story mardi because I mean I was scared obviously, but I knew I needed to play against the best even at that age. And these guys would come up to me and the little girl, you know where you are. And I said, yeah, I'm Rick apart and I'd be like, are you. Good. And they look at me. I came here because I wanna play against really big guys. And I have my New York accent. I'm trying to give you New York at at twelve years old. And they're like you're in rock. I said, yeah, I know I'm in Rucker park. I'm what's your name is your name Rucker? And the guy goes no good at eight your park, and I wanna play in and I want you to help me. And they became so good to me. And they would take the train home. They would protect me. I mean I was protected so much and champion by African Americans in my youth. We're maybe and I'm not trying to pick on white people obviously. But why people would tell me I was stupid done. Never make anything myself wise a little Jewish girl playing in the street with black kids. And, you know, inevitably I would have to, you know, sometimes fight and sometimes 'cause I didn't have conflict resolution. But I got tired of people telling me what I couldn't be. I, I needed to hear we only to hear what we what we can be in have positive around us, and that never happened to me until I heard of Mohammed Ali, and then had the incredible fortune of meeting him at nineteen. And being he picked me. I we. Relied long prince to the gay, we buried him in Louisville three years ago. "Mike Florio from pro football talk will join us coming up a little bit. We'll talk about the release of the schedule did the NFL have it out for the Oakland Raiders. So we'll talk to Mike coming up Eric in Florida joins us now. Hi, eric. Would you have for me today? And sixty eight of seeing them all and I was thinking exactly the same things you last night in terms of offense if unstop ability, I'm adding James harden to my wilt, and Michael Jordan, Malysz and Kareem he has and Corinne, you're absolutely right. Yeah. And Corinne, absolutely, right. Not only is he such a phenomenal offensive talent. But he is such a great athlete. His first step may be kyri Irving might have the best first step, but he's won a on first step and his ability would both hands is to throw the floater the only way James Harden's not playing well as he doesn't play. Well, I do not believe the defense affects James harden. I love watching James harden, if he was at Rucker park, I'm square would be empty. Thank thank you. Eric. I appreciate that. Yeah. I'd like to think that I saw them all as well. I saw wilt after he was the offensive force when he was a defensive force with the Lakers, but from marriage to send door to Jordan to Iverson Kareem. You throw them all in their hardened belongs on that short list of greatest offensive weapons in NBA history. Yeah. Point just to clarify, the caller the way James harden doesn't play well as if he doesn't play. Why get get caught up? Tripped up on a technicality. They're polling so true though lameta, but it's true. If he doesn't play well, you can't lose ballgames NFL still win. And that's all. If you're Trent Dilfer, all right, Mike Florio from pro football talk kind enough to. Back at the fact bringing Mike Florio from pro football talk. Mike did the NFL habit out for the Oakland Raiders. Well, they may have it out for Oakland. I mean you wanted to keep the team for one more year. That's fine. You got nine weeks between games, but not an easy start to the season for what will be the last season in Oakland and a lot of expectations with your Antonio Brown. Even more pressure on Derek Carr. Dan. I think if this thing doesn't succeed for the raiders this year. It's not going to be drawn gruden's fault. It's not gonna be Antonio Brown's going to be Derek cars fall. If you're looking at the schedules. It's always there's always quirky things. You talked about how the raiders going along period of not playing at home. I think Tampa Bay has that as well. But if I said, the easiest schedule doesn't always go back to the patriots because they play in the AFC east. Well, yeah. But we keep waiting for the other three teams to step up and one of these years, I guess they will. But you know, look at the dolphins right out of the gates with a new coach a team that has not been good. They've got four straight playoff opponents from twenty eighteen that they have to try to navigate and it really is critical to try, you know, with a new coach to get off to a good start win some games developed some confidence, and the that's the thing matter what the rest of the schedule is for the patriots. They're still six games being played against these teams in the AFC that try they might just can't compete with the patriots. And when you look at the patriots schedule this year, most of their tough games are at home..

And it's namely women women who trail blades women who did what I did far better than I do it. Now, one of which is here with me. Now, I am a fan. She is a friend. Also, a colleague Jackie Matt you may know her Jackie MacMullan. Thank you so much for being on my podcast. I appreciate to be on your pocket. She's honored. I'm honored. Okay. So Jackie we all know, your work. You are considered one of the foremost of not premier. I'm not just saying that to say that you are well respected in this business by everyone specifically in basketball, and you wrote a book, it's called basketball a love story. Tell me about the the Genesis if you will. So I didn't realize I love basketball to my junior high school. I played so much later than everybody else. But once it took hold me carry it never ever like only I ended up playing basketball well into my fifties longer than I should have. And so when this concept came up, Dan, close the great. Filmmaker had this idea about basketball love story. It was what is it about this game? That takes hold of these men women foreigners, college coaches, high school, coaches, pro coaches, what is it about that game that grabbed hold of you and as Kevin Durant says makes the gates of heaven up. So I thought it would be a great project to be involved in. And it was just fascinated list. Listened to some of the greatest people in the game. We love the game so much and how they Pierce veered because they love the game through terrible things. But also some of the gracefulness of their lives interviewed a lot of people in this book that are absolutely amazing. So if you had to pick, and I know there's so many great still raised. I know. Right. So pick one story that that really stuck with you. And you said this is exactly why. It's okay. So we're talking about trail-blazing women. Yes. So Nancy Lieberman is a trail. Lebron grew up in house. Does she's hilarious in this book? Talking about her mother her parents are gone through a divorce wanted the lights out schlitz two brothers. Sid was happening said.
