"Like freedom. That's eight, five, five, four, five, zero, three, seven, three. We're talking about the Washington. Redskins football team that is announced they're retiring the redskins name, and apparently the logo as well and at the in Tyler Mark here in the studio with you, Tyler. You just mentioned during the. The break that Ger-, understanding that the Redskins logo was actually designed and approved by some local Indian tribe. Their Sarah Yeah my friend. Just let me know during the break that it wasn't. It was a native American man who suggested the name and the image came from a blackfoot Indian and apparently the tribe. He's associated with all approved the logo when it was made. which you know, it makes me think. How many native Americans really are upset about it this not many is the answer, so if you. Looked at the study is the past and I can tell you. There is not some resounding a cacophony of noise coming from native Americans. I'm not talking about some people who who get who get some news. I'm talking about native Americans generally. About. Any of this, but. You know there you go. I picked. I decided okay, so here's the beef I'm GonNa look at the beef and I'm GonNa. Come up with. This, what is the? What are they saying? I decided the only thing that I could clearly see was roy. Washington redskins appeared to be the most pejorative of these so okay. I'm willing to go on this one. A New Washington Post poll, which was new in two thousand sixteen. That's when the story came out. Shows that nine out of ten. Native Americans they are not offended. by The Washington Redskins name according to the poll that shows how few ordinary Indians have been persuaded by National Movement change the football team's moniker survey of five hundred and four people, which is you know not a small sample size across every state, and the District of Columbia presume reveals that the minds of native Americans have remained unchanged since the last poll in two thousand and four that found the same result, so literally nothing changed over a period of more than a decade. Sherman yet these folks have still been persuaded to change their name because somebody's crying. Crying a river well, I mean what if there's enough people out there that don't have to be native Americans that don't care for your team. Because of the name and all I'd say to that is it makes perfectly good sense that it's time to change the name again you'll net. You'll not hear me. Be outraged over it. I just think that that's the most defensive of all the offensive things. Once you slide that off the table. Then what are they gonNA see? What are we gonNA, complain about all. They'll find something right. Yeah, Redskins, not a hill worth dying on in my opinion. It is kind of a pejorative term, but like. Do you think that by changing the name Redskins? All of a sudden? Hey, guys! We cured racism. It's over now I don't took care of it. The whole thing they're doing is they're just trying to paper over this stuff like all these companies are coming out and proclaiming how much they care and look. We're going to get rid of aunt. Jemima and we're going to get you know. We're GONNA get rid of uncle, ban or or or dramatically redesigned them. I'm not sure what they've decided to do. Those characters. Is GonNa Fix Racism Finding out. Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein? will fix racing there you go. Okay so we're not sure now. You said there's names that have been proposed. We'll get to that coming up here. In just a moment all there's a name and unlikeliest true. Okay, we'll get to that, but first the next generation wallet is coming from divvy and just a few taps. You'll be able to spend earned store and exchange digital money in seconds divvy says you'll be able to send money around the globe, and only a swipe instantly.

"Nice to have you in studios. Well, wow. So if you have any questions about Yam or internet, eighty eight eighty eight ask Leo the phone number on we go with the show line. Four is Shane in ROY Washington. Hi, Shay chain. Hey, Leo was hoping, you could spend some money. I love spending other people's money. You bet. I'm looking I have a two thousand fourteen MAC, pro and at the quad is a seven, and I'm throwing a Nikon DA fifty files at it. Those are. That's nice camera. It's killing it. And so those are fighting site right now. Oh, dear. Oh, we need some help you right away. So about starting a little bit. But anyway, I was hoping that you could tell me what the MAC, many that I because I've got monitor set up that the way I like, yeah, I think it's funny because apple of course released this. We don't know how much, but incredibly expensive MAC pro will be out in the fall, but honestly before they even released that when they updated the MAC mini this year, I think they really signaled that they could have just made a crappy little tiny computer. You know, and not done much to, they really re engineered it. I think significantly and I think you can easily create a MAC mini that will satisfy your needs using light room. Using light room about sixty percent and Photoshop around forty percents. Yeah. And, and I research I've done, light rain, only use two cores fully. Right. And, and Photoshop uses all the course that you throw at it. Yeah. What I read, and that's part of the reason, I'm calling because I'm, I'm not understanding three point six gigahertz quad core versus a three three point. Oh, right. Why would I go to a higher more expensive processor with more cores, but slower I don't understand this is often the very common tradeoff. So a little history here. Intel who makes these microprocessors hit a wall. Basically, they realized that it was going to be very difficult for them to make processors any faster than four gigahertz for variety of reasons. Mostly heat and power use. And they kind of retrenched they said, well, wait a minute. We thought we would be able to make eight gigahertz processors. We can't. So what we're gonna do instead of making faster and faster processes put more and more processors on a single chip single die. And that's why now when you go to the store, very rarely will you get a, a computer with a single processor at almost always, they'll have at least dual core often quad core as you get more professional, these. The I MAC pro I bought last year had ten cores and apples promising with their new MAC, pro a thirty two core processor. That's kind of like having a supercomputer on a chip..

And, and I the research that I've done light rain, only uses two cores fully, right? And, and tho- shop users all the cores that you throw at it, you know what I read and that part of the reason I'm calling because I'm, I'm not understanding three point six gigahertz quad core versus a three three point. Oh, right. Why would I go to a higher more expensive processor with more cores, but slower I don't understand this is this is often the very common off. So a little history here. Intel who makes these microprocessors. Hit a wall. Basically, they realized that it was going to be very difficult for them to make processors any faster than four gigahertz for variety of reasons. Mostly heat and power use and they kind of retrenched they said, well, wait a minute. We thought we'd be able to make eight gigahertz processors, we can't. So what we're gonna do instead of making faster and faster processors is put more and more processors on a single chip single die. And that's why now when you go to the store Ray rarely will you get a, a computer with a single processor at almost always will have at least dual core often quad core as you get more professional, these. The I MAC pro I bought last year had ten cores and apples promising with their new MAC, pro a thirty two core processor. That's kind of like having a supercomputer on. On a chip. And the idea is well, more processors mean, even though they're not running any faster, you could do more things at once, but as you point out is very much dependent on the software using sometime software will use all those cores apples programs program like final cut, for instance will say we'll gladly say, oh, you got thirty two cores. I'm gonna maxim all out. But I rarely see on my I MAC, pro my ten core. Mac, pro very rarely I have a little CPU monitor running will. I see all the cores in use that every once in a while happens. And I kind of gleefully clapped my, let's say I didn't waste a thousand dollars. But what's happened with all these cores is they've actually tend to slow the clock speeds down. Now, often, what happens is these clock speeds that they quote, for instance, the three gigahertz six core MAC mini the three gigahertz is kind of the base speed. They'll, they'll go up to four something gigahertz as needed. But what happens when they get that fast is a lot of heat generated, and so in order to keep the processor from actually bursting into flames? Sometimes they'll thermally gate, these processors still slow them down. So you can't unfortunately, these days, you can't really look at the specs for computer and say, okay, I, I know that's what I want. If you know that you're you did exactly the right research that your workflow has tools that use multiple processors efficiently. Then that's more important than the clock speed. But many games, I'll give you an example. Many games are single core. They care more about raw processor, speed and graphics processor speed than they do about multiple cores. And that's just kind of the way games are written. So if you're a gamer, you wanna four gigahertz processor, even if it's only dual core quad core or single core for that matter. But if you're using Photoshop which will use all this cores, they don't, by the way. They don't always use all those cores. It's things like, okay, I'm going to do a galaxy and blur to a forty megapixel image, then all the causal kick in. It's really useful and informative to watch these CPU meters as you're doing these things because you realize I'm waste. I I'm wasting they're just sitting there idle most of the time. Right. So for you. Well, first of all, I would say raw processing in light room is is just awful even on my ten corps. I MAC pro. It's just awful. And that's that's on Dobie. I ended up buying photo mechanic, oh, there's also raw processor. I think it's called digital raw something like that for quickly, calling photos, and then importing the cold photos, into Photoshop light room. Do I? Yeah. Because that workflow just in light room is just unusable, and I don't care what you buy, I, maybe if you get the new MAC pro for thirty. Two thousand dollars. It'll be fast but seems seems silly to spend that much money on a program. That's just written poorly. Don, I going to see a benefit of going to a better a more cores that a lower speed or am I going to notice? I mean 'cause I remember the turbo the turbo boost, is what you care about. So that three point six quad core. I MAC doesn't have turbo boost. Okay. The three point. Oh, will turbo boost up to four point one gigahertz. I'm looking at the specs right now. So if I put a fan under it like one of those keeping fancy cool. Yeah. The yeah. The and I don't know. You know, the MAC mini is a pretty small case. So I don't know what the thermal are like in there, but that app on laptops. That's a big issue. You can buy laptop with far more processor than you'll ever get to us because of thermal gaining the other issue the other issue for you is ram. And that is one thing you probably know both legroom at Photoshop will door ram in the more ram. You have the faster the SSD, the more ram, you have the better that's going to be the right now. I had contain gigs, and I was thinking going thirty two but I was also thinking you know what screw it. I'm gonna go sixty four I don't think. Yeah. Okay. You're like me. I have no idea. If that helps in fact, if you look if you look at the curve, there's the biggest improvement in sixteen to thirty two and then it starts to flatten out performance starts to flatten out after thirty two they're going to get a little more. But it's gonna cost on your throwing forty eight negative. Right. You'd like to load those images in memory. Right. And it's an info shop and Larum. It's not just the images all the layers. All the scratch copies. So, yeah, they get filling up. Yeah. I don't know if that oughta ram. No, scratch disk is hard drive, and that's why you want a very, very fast hard drive. And they do have good SSD's in their, their e based, which means you're going to be that's going to be faster. Am I gonna notice the difference in the SSD's that I had from two thousand fourteen now? Much the same. Well, whether you'll notice it, I don't know, but they are definitely faster. Okay. So, yes, I think this MAC mini is a good choice. If you don't wanna lay out five grand, which is a starting point for an I MAC. I ended up spending on the MAC pro seven thousand dollars to get the ten core. That's crazy. And by the way, if you're going to buy a MAC pro in the fall plan on spending thirty thousand. Yeah. So get a MAC mini, I definitely going to be throwing a maverick pro approach to, and I'm going to be throwing out, it onto final cut, and I wanna be able to do that doing, I think, for most people just like you the MAC minis. Right says it has more ports in any MAC of made. Now it's really good for that. They really made it. That was a big big improvement on the MAC mini. They have h full-size HDMI out. They have Thunderball three. They really did a nice job. Ram does go up to sixty four which is another thing pros really want. It the graphics on there is, you know, the Intel based graphics, but it supports the any GPU that's built into the operating system. Now, so you have thunderbolt three so you could put an external GP of any kind on that. That would also help you along. Though, that maybe I should maybe I should upgrade that in a couple of years and do that my friend Rene Ritchie, who is over at I more just actually put out a video today. Thank you scooter excesses. Turns out, you can get a lot of MAC mini for half the price of a pro might might want to watch that too. Okay. I think they're I think this is what I love the mini. I love the mini. I think they really apple listened has been listening and all of a sudden, the MAC is back, baby. Well, there's no reason for me to spend money on a known mon- when I have on it. Yeah. And of course, a modern is really important of tiger for. So I like the idea. That's the problem with the I MAC your that's you're going to be as an apples, monitored their good. But you don't necessarily want that one. You might wanna different one. All right. Thanks, joe. Appreciate it. Might my family, 'cause you 'cause you Leela because my kids did not say your name get Leland stitch. Yeah. I know. Hey, I'm glad you listen. I'm sorry to kids. I apologize for dads habit. But it's helping pay the bills have a great wedding shoot, or I meant that fun. Take care. Yeah. That I kind of fifty very nice camera, but John, you know, forty megabyte file sizes. I mean huge. "A glove a piece of tape. It will affect the bulk of it out empty backfield on first down Iowa State from right till app from its own twenty five yard line to buy one Sata's. Montgomery lines up in the slot. Now switches. Behind party out of a makeshift. Pistol Paul startled by the cyclone all start offense number eighty five by penalty. Charlie colour, the second team all big twelve performer cost his team five yards and colours. He's a big kid. You're not gonna miss him moving at six six two hundred sixty pounds worth a tight end. He's point well to a nice point of attack blocker and he runs well, which you can get down the field. And and get open was also teammates with Atlanta guard point guard trae young back in high school. So he played some hoops back in the day. Great athleticism, but Gumri lives up near side of the receiver. Now back in the pistol ships over the right tackle, and he'll pick up two yards a punishing run as he was hit by Dylan Sherman Peyton bluer. Yeah. A punishing Ron, but even more punishing tackle Palu Moore. I mean got the best of that his pad level was low ROY. And he got up in to the running backs business. I was stated eight and four coming into this contest six and three in the big twelve. Most wins in conference play in school history. Face second down and thirteen here. Sam seen Buckner the full back. The service a lead blocker for David Montgomery. All right. Tackle theives ahead. A gain of five yards. That'll make it. Third down in nine Willie Taylor melted down while Montgomery says a hard hard rudder to get down. He gets going downhill fast. He puts his foot the ground and a very authoratative runner. Even slipped a little bit on the plane still able to fall forward. Five eleven two hundred sixteen pounds. So call it. Third down in a long eight Montgomery, jR, did submit his draft paperwork to the NFL to see what round he could be selected in next summer on third town Purdy flush has a running lane and slides in safely crossing the thirty five and the far side. Ronald keep the drive alive a crappy maneuver that time for the freshman quarterback. Rob purdie? Yeah. Really important play on third down for Purdy to get that conversion, and they were all over one prior to that he had to really be careful. He started the slide right at the Dow Barker, but he did just have enough of the first down spot. The ball ahead of the thirty six yard line from right to left. Go the cyclones, and they're all white uniforms to buy one formation, Cody oddly shotgun will go play action pressure through the gap almost got there and finally wrestled down after a loss of three. It'll be second down after the tackle for loss and ROY Washington state's gonna get flagged again for an unsportsmanlike conduct or a late hit on the quarterback. There is no foul for a personal foul facemask on the previous play, etc. Or a no call which is even better. If you're a Washington state band. I alu coattail. Obey. With the sack all the way back the thirty four yard line. Five minutes to go seven nothing. Washington state out in front of Iowa State. So the sack will stand it'll be second long. Great crowd. Great energy here in San Antonio, Texas all week long. Ames Iowa about one thousand miles from San Antonio Pullman, Washington about fifteen hundred miles just inches not benefactor on second down along and under head toss a lateral. If you will to David Montgomery was snipped out by putter, Dale and Tommy's gonna lose five more yards on that way. A hundred Dale is is such a good player. Roy, you know, he's really there nickel back, but he plays a defensive back position and comes and hits like a linebacker. Third down and six game. Four nineteen and counting outbursts quarter, seven nothing. Washington state. Cyclones trying to keep the drive alive. Brought parties already thrown two interceptions Tulsa says went Butler across the metal a nice game. We'll be spotted about four yards short of the line needed. A of the forty six that's a gain of twelve while Butler went up and really made a nice play on a high throw that time by bar brought birdie but being six six that's an easy catch for Butler. But you said just really good coverage pulls it down before he gets to the sticks. Corey done onto the field for the first time for Iowa State. The job at Campbell has done three and nine in his first season in Ames eight and five last year eight and four so far this season. Cyclones were short a player on the field. "Hey, Jasper, what's on your mind? Hey, how you doing Tom? What's up? I'm just listening to your previous guest and till you economists that you had on me, very fascinating. What is it gonna take to actually get money out of politics that would take that would take a law that the supreme court couldn't knock down and a congress could conceivably pass a law that explicitly says the supreme court does not have the ability to rule on this law or alternatively? They capacity constitutional amendment. Okay. And the second thing I want to know, what would it take also validate the voting machines because I believe that there are more people who have a like man who wants to do right? Then those few people who are controlling everything. And until we have a right to. Voting machines and can actually validate what we actually do. And then they can always tell us anything, and we'll always come up short. Yeah. I agree. I think that private corporate four prophet voting machines being used in our elections is an abomination it's an absolute violation of the principles on which this country was founded the Commons, which is the principle purpose of government is to is to hold the Commons entrust for all the rest of us. The comments is regulated by our opinions who we elect to congress. And so you could argue that the vote is the most important part of the Commons because it's the part by which all the rest of the Commons is regulated. And when a private for profit corporation takes over the vote they have disrupted the the core function of democracy of a Democratic Republic. So as spot on we should if we're going to, you know, this is the area of technology if we're going to use voting. Machines. They should be owned by the government. They should be programmed by the government. They should be open source. They should be transparent, and they should print receipts. Very straightforward stuff. No more from ES and s and devolved and all these other companies spot on Jasper. Thanks a lot for the call Johnny and Lamar Texas. Hey, johnny. What's on your mind today? Hey, tom. Back in December twenty sixteen and several times in the following spring of twenty seventeen I had called for the simultaneous impeachment of Trump and Pence based on number one. Who dilation of their oaths of office and three in companies that way, if you base it on incompetence, you could argue to nullify any an old choices Trump made including his choice of running candidate, including all of his signing statements and everything. And now here we are fast forward to the present. Now, it's okay to talk like this. I think it's fantasy. But. Fantasy. Why not with the president Pelosi? Peppered named Stacey Abrams at speaker of the house, and then put Hillary Clinton in charge of implementing expanded and improved Medicare for all under the watchful eye handers or she could simply appoint Hillary Clinton as vice president and then resign and go back to being speaker of the house, which would make Hillary Clinton president. It gets pretty involved, but Johnny I don't recall incompetence. I don't recall that word even existing in the constitution of basically says that federal officials, which of course, includes the president can be impeached for bad behavior and high crimes and misdemeanors. Yeah. Did you hear me? My magic skipped out of Republicans as you probably know. Yeah. No. What I was saying is that the constitution does not mentioned incompetence does talk about bad behavior. I think that that's for federal judges though, I think it says that they shall serve during times of good behavior and that impeachment. She'll be applied when there is evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors. I'm not sure that incompetence. In fact, I'm quite sure that incompetence is neither a high crime, nor a misdemeanor. You may be right because look at. People who run out. Stealing left. And right. I don't think they're very competent more moral. Yeah. There you go Janis. Thanks a lot for the call Raymond in ROY Washington. Hey, raymond. What's up? Hey, Tom, take off the speaker. Thank you. Yeah. I think what will happen is if the Republicans see that comes in Pence is goose is cooked, then they will impeach him. And thereby appointing Paul Ryan as president and would that moved, and they would basically neuter the incoming democratic majority in the house. What do you think I think that's entirely possible? But I doubt it's going to happen in the next three weeks. And that's when they'd have to do it because you know, in another three weeks, you're going to have a Democratic Congress. I got a question. But if they do that can the Democrats. Then Paul Ryan out of the White House. You. They would have to impeach him. I mean, you know, that would be the process, so we'll see by thanks a lot for the call, Robin, Chico, California. Hey, rob what's up? Stunned by your are you more and more each week. I listen to you. I hope that's why why is there a debt? If your way of thinking, why do we even have it national just print money as the bills come in? Well, I don't think Stephanie Kelton is suggesting for that matter that we simply print money, but there are ways to resolve the national debt. The main reason to have a national debt is because there needs to be to have a functioning economy, a safely functioning, well regulated economy there needs to be a place where money can be deposited without fear that it will be lost. And let me finish, rob. But the banks and the banks have never represented that. In fact, you'll recall in nineteen thirty-three the week. The Franklin Roosevelt took off March fifth nineteen thirty-three they all the banks in America failed and all that money was lost. So what the federal government has done and has. Has done from the beginning of the Republic is to through the treasury department is to provide a place where people can park their money safely, and the one time in our history that the federal debt has been taken down to zero was I think eighteen thirty four it was during the administration of Andrew Jackson. It was after he vetoed the second national Bank and took that down. And what it did was it produced the longest and deepest depression in the history of the United States. If the national debt is not just the debt that our government does it's also private savings of that twenty one trillion dollars in our national debt right now about four trillion of it is money that the government does itself. So it's basically money is just parked social security trust fund Medicare trust fund. You've got now the postal service trust fund, so the of the remaining seventeen or eighteen trillion dollars. There's about two trillion of that that is foreign money that is parked here. But the rest of it is money that America. And American businesses want to have in a safe place. And the reason why you hear Republicans constantly screaming about the federal debt in how we've got to get down the debt we've got to pay it off, and we shouldn't have any debt at all is because the big banks. This is this is the big banks speaking the big New York banks want to be the only game in town, if you wanna have savings they want you to be forced to put your savings with them. They very much resent the fact that the federal government competes with them as a place to safely store money. And therefore if you don't have a national debt, and this is why every country in the world does have a national that. If you don't have an day you end up with an insanely unstable economic system, Rob Lowe, thanks for filibustering, Tom. Do you believe that the government can overspend? Let me ask you that question. I don't know what overspend means is there any limit to what the government spends should I put they spent five trillion dollars on the military budget this year. Well, what we did when we fought World War Two was we ended up with the national debt. One hundred and twenty four percent of GDP right now, we're if you take out federal spending worried about a hundred percent or federal, you know, the money that the government has a cell from the debt were close to one hundred percent GDP. So we were far deeper in debt in nineteen forty six than we are today way finish Rahm, even filibustering or whatever you want. But let me finish the the way that that Franklin rose or the way that Dwight Eisenhower, Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower got us out of that. But principally Dwight Eisenhower paid off the national debt or pay down the national debt to about ten or twenty percent of GDP was the national highway system and the way that he did that was he borrowed another what in today's dollars would be over a trillion dollars. He borrowed another few tens of billions of dollars in the early fifties. And built the national highway system and put millions of people to work. So you know, that you have to whenever you're talking about spending. Rob you have to put in the context of what you're spending the money for and what kind of return is going to get the GI Bill that Republicans were screaming about this is going to break the Bank. You're going to have to add to the national debt. To pay for the GI Bill. What we learned by the nineteen sixties was that for every dollar. We spent educating people like my dad, and my wife's father who both went to college on the GI Bill for every dollar. We spent educating the young men who came back from war to we got seven dollars an additional tax revenue over their lifetimes because they earned more money with a college education than they would have if they only had a high school education. Plus it brought an explosion of innovation. So the question, isn't, rob. How much are you spending? The question is what are you spending that money on if you're spending to get us off fossil fuels and enter into a green economy that's going to produce enormous benefits to society, it's going to save the planet, and it's going to generate enormous tax revenues down the road. Just like getting us out of the great depression did here turn when the hits a hundred trillion dollars, which it will does that bother you at all. How do you know it'll hit a hundred trillion hundred trillion? It's twenty one trillion now, and it's just going to go up and up and up. Well, it depends on whether Republicans continue giving more tax breaks to billionaires. I mean, you could you could we could have a when Bill Clinton left office. He had a George W Bush a budget surplus that over the course of the next fifteen years if it hadn't if if nothing changed would have paid off about eighty percent of the national debt that you know, George Bush decided that he was going to put a trillion dollars on the debt for with a tax break. The another trillion two trillion dollars in the national debt with the war and Afghantistan another two trillion dollars on the national debt with the war in Iraq Obama inherited that plus he needed to borrow another trillion dollars to get us out of the Bush recession. So you know, we're in the situation we're in and then Trump comes in offices. So let's throw another five trillion dollars in the national debt. Rob. I think you're debating the issue with the wrong side. It's it's not me that you have a problem with its your Republican buddies. I think the Republicans. Yes. But and the Democrats and the federal government whom you just said the purpose of the federal government is to maintain the common nothing like that in the founding documents purpose of government is to preserve liberty specifically individual liberty..

"Quickly. The Queen ain't happy the queen's not happy to nica from J Bill and Nick in ninety nine tweets forget the bat signal. I'm putting out the ten Roni alert for this Sunday. After that dumpster fire in Dallas yesterday. She then chased that tweet by saying, quote, I need a slump BUSTER is the flight deck available. Denisa asking for a slump BUSTER as promised. We're talking all things NFL join right now by an NFL network analyst, Anton FOX analysts you can follow him on Twitter at C FD D Twenty-two. Mike guest is Charles Davis. Charles good morning. What's up? How are you? I'm doing great. Jim. I love when they call for this slump BUSTER. I mean, you can't beat that. Can I say some trouser if you knew who she was talking about you'd like it, even better. A man appreciate Santa. There are still listen you're on the call for the Carolina Washington game yesterday. How impressed were you? With ROY Washington bounce back from that ugly performance against New Orleans on Monday night. I was impressed. Jim I wasn't surprised. And I know it's easy to say afterwards. But just look at the history of this team with Jay Gruden as the head coach they tend to bounce back after after big losses and play. Really? Well, the consistency has been there issue. You know, I talked with Jay about it. He's been very open and told my crew before the Green Bay game. We are a front running football team for whatever reason when we're down. We don't play nearly as well, we don't have to we have not shown the great comeback capability, but we get out and get on top of you look out. And what do they do against Carolina jumped out to a fourteen enough? They were embarrassed about Monday night, they have to resolve. But they played from the front like my good friend. Randy moss horse racing fame said when a horse breaks from the gate fast. It's called he caught a fly out of the gate and Washington does that there are a lot tougher team to beat Charles Davis. Joining us, you know, a level racing analogy listen in your position in my position. We're supposed to be objective. We can't play favorites. I get that. I got to say though, I was really happy. See Josh Norman bounce back. The way he did against his former team. I love the guy because there have been so much talk all week long about maybe he had gone Hollywood. Maybe he had lost something off his game. What did you see why you were watching him? Well, I talked about during the game. Jimmy was interesting about it is all the things you said as as we well know her so true different people analyzing it. Okay. I I've seen where my my colleague were Charley Casserly, it said that he's the third best corner on the team behind Quinton Dunbar, converted wide receiver Fabien Moreau out of UCLA, another, you know, a colleague of ours into business book befallen had said on Monday night football. He's no longer the top corner on the team Quin Dunbar it. Well. Yes, pride he was stung by that. And I thought that in this game. He played his best game of the year. One perfect day attacked him late in the game. And got some plays on Jim. But prior to that Carolina had studiously avoided him. They aimed all their big shots at Quinton Dunbar. So that told me that in Carolina's estimation. Even though Josh wasn't playing at his at the level that people expect from him. They expected him play well in this ball game, and they still had full respect for him. He had an interception forced force fumbling. The game I think Josh Norman is on his way to being back towards being the Josh Norman you're looking for. I don't know that he's the lockdown guy that people have made about to be. But I also don't think that he's as bad as as people said after the New Orleans game either Charles Davis joining us. All right. So last night Kansas City goes into New England. And then the first half Patrick Mahomes looked a little like you'd expect somebody to look making just seventh NFL start. But they turned it around in the second half, Charles. I mean you've been around this game a long long time. How many quarterbacks have you seen with the composure of Patrick Mahomes at this stage of their career very few very few. And when we add to it. In New England Sunday night New England having ten days to get ready. And we'll did we all say, Jeb, right? Well, we always say, oh my God. Bella check that much time with a young quarterback. As you noted. He had a couple interceptions early date with it. But I do think there's a big part of the makeup of Patrick Mahomes. This is pretty incredible. But growing up in that league big-league locker room with his dad is a pitcher being around people. You know, my colleague Alex Rodriguez over at FOX, he's he's he's fashionable homes hero. And the dad has often said that Alex would treat him like an adult. He was the one that would say, hey, your clubhouse. Let's do this. Let's do that. Let's go hit the ball. With shag. Let's do all that this kid had a chance to be around these big time elite people and see how they did it and along with his own personal makeup. It's come out pretty well. The last thing I would say Jim is. He had a chance to learn pose poise and composure at Texas Tech too. Because most of their games were shootout, and he was often playing for behind trying to rally his team draws Davis. My guest when you talk about Mahomes and his background. He's just so unique in so many different ways that said you're involved in the show sports stars of tomorrow, and a profiles and interviews high school athletes, so how different or today's high school athletes from the ones that say, maybe a decade or two ago, or are they more mature are they more polished now than they were then they are everything that you just said an Uber confident. Okay. Look, we've always had confident kids coming up. All right. You had to be in order to play. But there was also Jim a time where you, quote, unquote, waited your turn does that make sense rolled into the new program going from high school to college you kind of had to sit back, and okay, I got to wait for the veterans and let your talent comes through and beat out a guy. Well, these young people nowadays. Jim they're playing elite tournaments in AAU or seven on seven flag football at a younger age. They're going to these things like the opening, right? The elite players they're seeing each other on the camp circuit. So they're all kind of doing everybody talks about the NBA. Let's get together and form super teams these kids recruit each other. When I was that age. Okay. I said I be this back in the dark ages of the eighty when you heard about a great player across the country. There's a mythical quality to them because you just didn't see him. They weren't highlights. You know, there wasn't this. You heard about that guy? Go. Wow. I heard he's really great kids all know each other now, and they are not cowed when they go to the college level they go in expecting to take someone's job expecting to play right away. And that's a big positive for teams. But when you're trying to feel about harmony and dynamic a lot tougher for the older guys now because they don't wait their turn any more of these kids are precocious to the Instagram. And and let's face it. They're on television. They play on TV from the time. They're twelve years old go into these big time places not going to stimulate them at all you Charles joining us, you can watch him on NFL network and Fox Sports or I see mentioned back in the dark ages of the eighties. We go back to your career for minute. You're a db, Tennessee. You went to training camp with the Cowboys. What was that experience? Like, what do you remember about that? It was a great experience. Jim. And I'll tell you this very quickly by dad was a high school in college basketball coach and played football and baseball in college at Bluefield state in West Virginia, which at the time was historically black college and university. So he knew the score. So I go to camp. It was the waning days of Tom Landry as head coach the Cowboys weren't as good as they had been. But they're still pretty recognizable. People there ever said ball. Michael dowd. Danny white was the quarterback, you know, right on down the line. So I go I do my thing. I wasn't good. Adopt. They cut so the morning. I got cut. The band knocked up the Turk knocks on the door. And so they Davis wants to see you and bring your playbook. So I I've been around sports my whole life, James. I knew exactly the mouse gets cut before I ran oversee coach Landry. I called my dad now, this is the old days gets called card out it the rotary I called him that morning back in New York today debt, I think I'm getting cut today. And he said why and I said, well the man just knocked the door into the head coach Landry, and he goes off. Well, heck he might want. You know, just tell you you need to do this or try to help your game would have is a death. The man told me to bring my place. Oh, you're cut. Forget it. That's my biggest Bevery right there. The old bad at that point. Just reverted to being a coach in an athlete and forget he was dead. Right. Was like, oh, yeah. You're cutting. Well, that's great. That's tremendous. So do you. Remember, it was there anything to the conversation with Tom Landry. If you're going to get cut in may as well be by legend like Tom Landry. What do remember about this conversation? It was terrific because he said, you know, there's a standard form where they have to check. Why they're cutting you in the standard for biz performance, not up to standards or something like that. That's what you have to say. And I said coach is it. Okay. If I disagree with that. And he said, hey, you can disagree. But you know, it's not gonna change any desert. I know and he just looked at me said, so he said, son. What are you gonna do? Now. I said well coach, I I graduated four years at Tennessee. I played my fifth year as a redshirt as a graduate student. He said, oh, what did I said in history? He said, well, what are you gonna decimal? "You're encouraged to Email time MLS soccer dot com. Tweet at extratime radio with any comments questions orientations. Hey, this is spoken on cheetahs USA, and you're listening to extratime radio. Monument. Radio with the guts. I have aboard. David goss. I am Andrew we we're into the mail bag, and we do not have that much time. We'll be a little hurried here. We mentioned an Email directed at Simon from Wally, ROY Washington. He says he wouldn't take Lamar Nagel overland Ottoman one for one, but he would take Lamar Neagle and Clint Dempsey over L D And Clint Dempsey while Donna is indisputably. An amazing player was a catalyst who makes great players. Even better Wally says when they goes on the field things to happen for his team. Even if he isn't directly involved throw in the cost of the players involved in becomes a no brainer. Would I don't? I still don't understand. I don't know. His math. Yeah. I don't get the logic. There assume you have other players on your team, and they going to make them better. So thank you for green. With me. I guess that's all that matters. Simon Borg's book Craig towers Sacre on Twitter, guys. I want to know what this blonde door is that we'd be was talking about that spelled B O L in D space D O R, maybe blown doesn't have two syllables. Kansas. Maybe I just don't how to say that in French. Can you help me out here by loan? Okay. That was that was so. That was almost singer so stupid. It's gotta change out of protest. We should call. It were player year just to take the blonde door. I mean that that's even better. Okay. Let's go to the red bull townhall. We had a lot of questions about that. One. Lot on Twitter Ray rebels sewing comedy, even when stage in their own public relations meeting in of he right comb, Anthony im- on Twitter. Jessie won the night. Jesse Marsa is some supporters need to grow up. Ali's? Learn to be more direct happy they held it. John Grady, Jesse did well nothing against him. And I liked the guy, but still rather would have Pecci Allie confirmed my distaste s- when your head coach is more blunt and transparent than the sporting director. I see that as an issue in Irish, apple Kurdistan. Make a compelling argument for firing Pecci MARC's. Okay. But can he deliver? So I mean, you listened to this whole town hall. Those were the quick reactions. We got on Twitter, certainly, you can't say those are indicative of the whole fan base. But I think there was an idea that Jesse Marsch quote unquote won the night. What did you hear? I thought once again courageous move by the executive you may not agree with their decisions. But the fact that they're showing a tremendous amount of courage. They knew what they were going to face at that town hall end debatable, and what did this Jesse Marsh? And by the way, Lewis Robles was with them and marked Agron pray. They showed face in front of the subordinate new the sports weren't happy. But again, tremendous courage to hold it. You know, other other front office. I imagine would say, you know, let's this blow blow by let's let's wait a month. And then maybe, you know, get together with fans. No, they did it right away. And I tried them for being courageous. But I have to say this clearly Ali Curtis. Didn't think that might pet Pecci was able to take on the responsibilities he expected now what do you want him to do rip might picky and say, I don't think he's capable clearly Ali Curtis doesn't think he's as capable as Jesse Marsch, but he's not going to go and trash pecu-. And so I'd Meyer all Curtis. For holding his ground there. I think fans want an explanation. Look, there's a way you can say you can maybe say that. I don't believe that I believe Jesse marshes more qualified to take on these new responsibilities of what I want from a co might say that he did say that doesn't say specific doesn't want him to. Okay, people want people want to hear it a question. They're saying what does Jesse March do that? Mike Pecci doesn't do. But I still think that goes back to what Simon said, then they're going to be mad that you're ripping Mike Pecci in the press. It's a no win situation. And he's just got he's going to have to be the whipping boy. And I think we Curtis gets that at this point. He has Twitter. You know, you're saying he didn't know his coming into camman checked his mentions on Twitter. I said they knew what they were. I'm sorry. I meant they knew that they were getting into. You mentioned that you didn't think they did. I didn't know that. I don't think that they fully understood the extent because when I heard from Jesse updraft, and we heard from Ali Curtis on the phone, and they said they were really excited. I think they thought Ali Curtis. If I could get them to sit down and listen to me, they're going to see my side of it. I don't think that that's exactly what happened. I think they had an idea of how would work out, and I don't think it played out that way Toaff night for those goes, no, I actually think it started tough. But then as the session war on then they won them over a little bit those who are able they were able to win over. Well, let us know what you think if you were at the town hall meeting, we would love to hear from you. Addicts time extra time at MLS soccer dot com.
