"Too. Right. So it's like you've got John ram, who gets in any tournament, he wants gets whatever. And yeah, there's top guys, but there's also these other guys and there's guys that are somewhat in the middle, and it is a good cross section of the membership and just to see where guys are thinking. And again, in my role as PAC chairman, along on the policy board, I have to think of those guys that are done at the bottom, right? So then going on to PGI and you have an Andy Gardner on here and him saying, well, I think I can create 5 billion worth of equity for the players. And distribute that amongst the 210. So I'm sort of adding that up and like that's like $20 million each. I'm like, again, I'm not doing a good job for the players. If I don't bring that to the attention of the tour and be like, just like sit down and listen to this guy or do something because yes, okay, I get that the business model that the PJ tour is currently under. Is Andy said hamstrung in terms of this is just sort of what they can do. And they're doing the best with what they can. And I agree with, I think they do a wonderful job within the structure they're in, because that was what was created before Jay took it is what it is. So if someone comes along and says, I think I can create this someone to revenue and distributed amongst every player. You have to listen to that. Because that's, again, if that's my responsibility to all the players that voted me into this position. We had a talk before that we turned the mics on too as well about golf being what is golf? Is it an entertainment sport? Or is it a participation sport, right? And yet some interesting thoughts on that. I'd love to pick your brain on. But my answer to that would be that it's both. I participate in an I play. I play, I watch football that's entertainment support for me. I don't play football, but I think your role is an entertainment for the game of golf and one of many roles you play, but your roles to entertain me through the television. I'm watching it. What is your view on that? Grimace and grin at me. So I agree, right? I think someone high up in the game of golf said that elite professional golf is the window shop and R game. That is what you view our game through. So it is certainly an entertainment product or sport or whatever you want to say. It's not purely that though, right? It's also a participation sport. And I think for the whole game of golf success, what is success? Success is just getting more people on the golf course, getting more people playing, making it more accessible. You've traveled to my part of the world. You've traveled to skull. It's so easy to play the game of golf. Sure. So easy. So I would love to see that more in this country and other countries and make it more accessible. I think the gulf had this stigma long enough of being a rich white man's game, basically. And I'd love that to be broken and to make it more accessible. And there are some great programs out there in this country that are doing that. First T, your phone course, all sorts of PJ league. There's so many grit grit organizations that are doing that work. But I get that if it's not entertaining, people aren't going to want to go and play. So there is that side of it too. So and all these things are constantly being talked about being addressed, but it's golf and golf traditionally has moved really slowly. And it hasn't been at the forefront of innovation. So I think you will see things coming down the line, but they're just sort of tiptoeing their weight to it. I think that's sort of where it's at. And you're not in a huge area to turn golf into Formula One. Not after what happened last week. Oh my goodness. So again, that's where, look, I'm Netflix is about to come and do a documentary on the PGA Tour, just like it did with Formula One. And I think that'll be a wonderful, that's a grit. That's the other thing as well, right? I think the PGA Tour has provided us all with this platform to grow our brand and hit sand that word. But to lift our profiles and do all that. So they have provided us a platform to go out and create opportunities for ourselves and do these things. So I think people have to be mindful of that too. But you know, yeah, they're going to do this Netflix thing and that's going to be great for the profile of some of these guys. But again, I think what happened last Sunday and Formula One is the narrative was more important than the result. And that can never happen in golf. That the story shouldn't be more important than the actual result. And I think that's where it got a little clouded last week. There was a great tweet that was like Kyle Porter threw out there. All right, I need somebody to make a golf equivalent of what just happened. It's like, well, Rory's beating Tiger by 5. Charlie Hoffman got struck by lightning on the 14th hole. So we're in tag we're having to chip off for the win. I'm tigers using the driver and raising the wedge. It probably still beat me, but. It's true. It was just and anyways. Again, I'm so glad that rules officials and our game aren't as they don't make the rules like that and they're not as bad. Yeah, we govern ourselves and for the most part and that's a good thing. Again, this will be projecting a little bit, but if I may say about watching the writer cup watching your emotion after it seeing Kyle Porter again wrote an awesome piece on just team golf in general. And what really the line from that that stuck with me was like failing together can be more rewarding than winning can be alone. And I watch like we're talking about managing energy. We're talking about the evolution of a.

"Kentucky, 47% alcohol by volume, Elijah Craig reminds you to think wisely and drink wisely. Let's get back to Rory McIlroy. I go back so frequently to birkdale, I forget what point of the round it was that JP said to do you remember what he said to you? I think it was four over three four. First drawing to Brookdale. There's a lot of learning and not mourning in that week as well. Not because of that, but yeah, he said to me on the 5th day of Brock Taylor he said, what are you doing? You're already fucking Michael Roy. I was like, well, that sort of makes sense. And I came back, I shot 71 that day. And then I ended up finishing fourth that week. And if I didn't lose the ball on 16 on Sunday, I would have had a decent chance. That's where I think you just walked through the whole process right of technical flaw. And you said some interesting there too. Your body as well as anyone in the world knows what to do has made thousands and thousands not millions of swings and knows what to do from certain positions. But if you want to change something, now you have to unlearn some things and relearn them on the range in practice on repeat, then take it in competition. And then trust it under the gun it feels a little different on Saturday than it did on Friday. And it's super easy to try to tell yourself like, oh, just go be Rory. Go play, but it's just that you can't just like skip steps in the process either and just go right to the finish and cheat. No, of course not. But there has to be that point where you say to yourself, all the works being done, you've done all the hard stuff on the range at home. The best mindset going to tournaments is you go and you play. And if there's things that aren't going great during that week, you go with what you have. I mean, that's what Jack say, he said, you got to dance with a girl you brought. And there was times during the year where I certainly was looking for other girls to dance with. Just compete. Go compete. Go compete, go grind your ass off. Turn a 74 into a 70, and that's golf. That's golf. And that is playing golf. And I figured out I need to just start playing golf more. And bob rat has been a big help in that too. I had a great had like a 5 R conversation with him about all this stuff in April of this year. And he has been a big help as well. Just reminding me of certain things. And he says, I was talking about technique and I'm thinking so much and he said, Rory, have you ever been to Disney? I say, yeah, I've been to Disney. He goes when you were there, did you ever get one of these caricature artists to draw a picture of your face? I said, yeah, yeah, I remember that. I remember that. And he said, so whenever they're drawn drawing your face, are they looking at your face? Are they looking at your hand? And I said, well, they're looking at my face. And it goes exactly. They're not looking at their hand, telling their hand what to do to try to draw your face, right? They're just looking at their target and letting their hand do what it needs to do. And he goes, that's the exact same thing as golf. And then we go back to what I said about Steph Curry at the start. He thinks about absolutely nothing. But you need the technique. You need to drill a technique you need to drill a lot on the range at home, whatever. But when you go and play, the last thought the better. The hardest thing is knowing that good golf comes from the right side of your brain and shutting off the left side. Your left side is trying to tell your body what to do, flow state comes from right side. But left side is still important and because that's where you have to course management and logical decisions. And laying up instead of going for all this sort of stuff, right? There's so much. I mean, it's an endlessly frustrating game, but when you get it right, those seldom times that you do. It's so rewarding. Patrick Harrington has said, I think it was at the PGA or a phrase we've repeated a lot, which is just something along the lines of, as you get older and get longer into professional golf, you lose your innocence. You you're nodding as I say that. Have you experienced that and what does that mean? Oh, yeah. Yeah, you get, I think in life in general, you get more careful as you get older. So you lose your innocence, those experience. I mean, we're human beings, we're designed to survive. So if we have something bad that happens to us, we're going to put that on our mind and say, well, I'm not going to let that happen again. For survival, just our survival instinct that's just who we are. So whenever you're on the golf course and something bad happens and that's when it's like, oh, well, I missed the last screen on the right. I'm not going to do that. So then you double cross it. So yes, you do lose your innocence. So again, you have to work so hard on your mindset to not let that creep in. You had talked about at some point. I don't have the date on this when you went over to Tiger's house and you saw trophies and there wasn't all the trophies weren't out. There wasn't a room that had all the trophies in there. And there was something along the lines of, you know, you only had only had the majors out and you almost had a reflection point of that of like, all right, well, that's what matters. I'm paraphrasing a little bit, but I'm asking you to explain it, but I'm also trying to marry that with you taking on leadership roles within the PGA Tour and being heavily involved with the PGA Tour. And I don't know my question is really. Yeah, no, so this was back in March. It was actually the Sunday of the Honda class, 'cause I remember sitting beside him. He was in his hospital bed there and sort of lag up and healing and really early in the process. And in his family room, he's got four shelves or whatever, and they're just the major trophies. And it just really hit me because, you know, I would say the golf media has given Tiger a hard time in terms of what he gives them in terms of letting them in and he's a very private person and he wants to keep it that way. And that's, and that's him. And that's good for him. But I just looked at those, and I said, that is just probably one of the most authentic things I have ever seen because all he has ever said, his entire life is all I care about your major championships..

"Room. But I feel like you have gone through ups and downs in terms of what to tell yourself about specific results. I think if I were to guess, I think you want to win so incredibly badly. Yet, at the same time, you have a wonderful life and it almost like why ruin myself down. I beat myself up over this result that I have not happy with if I have all these wonderful things for me. Trying to reconcile those two things I think I've never been in your shoes, but I feel like it's a difficult thing in your shoes and my onto something there. Yeah, for sure. I mean, I think I spoke about this at the open this year. I've got the open and then maybe after the win in Vegas as well or I said, when I try to soften the blow of maybe not playing my best golf or not getting a win, it's like, oh, well, you know, I'm already winning. I've got this great life, and I've got this wonderful family, and I've made all this money and all this sort of stuff. So it's almost I think Jordan might have talked to you guys about this a couple of years ago about using all that as a crutch. And it's very true. I started to use all that as a crutch. And I had to realize, well, no, that's all great. And that's my life, and that's wonderful, but you can't separate these two things. And I want to be the best player that I can be, and I felt sometimes that mentality of brushing it all for being a little too soft on myself didn't allow me to be the best player that I could be. Or at least give myself the best opportunity to be the best player I could be. I'm smiling so much right now because after you said that at the open, I pulled up that Spieth quote and I was like, man, look at these two quotes right next to each other. This doesn't quite seem right, but I'm glad to hear you say that. That seems. So you win four major championships up through 2014. You have four as we sit here now. Yet, I think if we roll out in 2010, if you were sitting here, we fast forward 11 years and say, you're going to have four major championships. That would make a lot of sense. That'd be amazing. Does it ever feel like you shot 27 on the front and shot 33 on the back to shoot 60? Is it harder to reconcile winning so many early with going 7, 6 years, whatever it is now without winning any? It is. I think there has been opportunities for me there to win major championships. The masters in 2018, I didn't put any pressure on Patrick, that final day finished second at carnoustie, had a great chance to birdie at ten to put some pressure on Francesco, tied for the lead of 9 holes to go with the U.S. open this year at Torrey pines. I've had chances. I just haven't capitalized on them. But then again, thinking about it, I'm still I'm 32 years old. Phil Mickelson had zero majors at this point and he went on to win 6 of them post 33 or 34. So I still feel like I have a really long runway ahead of me. I certainly don't think my major winning days are over. And I've since 2014 have basically won everything there is to win in the game apart from a major championship. WGC is the players to FedEx cops race to Dubai's I mean I've done most other things in the game apart from winning one of those big four. So I keep playing the way I'm playing, keeping in this mindset that I think I've finally got right. It's not far away. Well, and that's in the math too, you're saying you won you won four. And I would say you had 5 good chances up through winning that fourth. I'd say whistling straights was obviously a very close call in 2010 PGA. But you had it you ran away with a couple and you had a couple that you just closed out, but the math would say, all right, you're gonna have a couple here where you're just a couple shots off the pace. Brooks is kind of the same way. Like he got four quickly, and then now he's had some close calls, close calls, close calls, and I was just curious as to how you were personally reconciling that. It seems like you're in a good place with that. Yeah, I'm in a good place. I mean, I'm still, you know, I'm very proud of the fact that I've won four major championships, but it's not the end of the road for me. And I'm still young. Yes, I'm going into my 15th full year on tour, and I've been out here a long time, but I started young. I got off to a great start. I feel like I've kept that sort of pretty good start going. I mean, I'm pretty much on a 10% when rit throughout my career. So if I just keep going with that, keep giving myself chances. You're not going enough doors, some of them are open for you. And that's sort of my attitude going forward. So let's talk about this past year. You've had some comments earlier in the year. You said you know I'd be lying if I said what happened with Bryson at wingfoot didn't kind of influence some things. One, how did that kind of influence some things you had some coaching, changes and changes back or I don't know how well reported all that was kind of walk us through your golf evolution into this past year? Yeah. So I started out the year rewind back to maybe October 2020. Bryson is just on the U.S. open and he did it in a way around wingfoot that I just thought wasn't possible. Yes, wing food has openings at the front of the greens. You can hit it way up there and the rough run it up onto the green and so other courses you wouldn't be able to do that wingfoot he did, but huge greens there too. Yeah, so I've always been a pretty good driver of the golf ball, but I was like, you know, maybe a little bit more speed could be good for me. And I think, as well, you see some you see one of your contemporaries do something like that. And I think for me, it's almost like I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it too. And that's probably just my ego getting in the way a little bit. But I did it and I got some good speed and I got some good numbers and but at the detriment to the mechanics of my swing, trying to get the club one of the easiest ways to get more club head speed is to take the club back faster. And I started to try to do that. But once I started taking it back faster, it started to get more and more inside. And once the club gets behind me early, I'm done. I don't know what to do from there. Historically throughout my career I've taken the club out in front of me, or outside, and then from there I know what to do. The club just sort of drops, and that's just a natural pattern for me. But once the club gets behind me early, the club has to travel such a long way to get back out in front of me and it's like I just can't time it up. I can't sync it up. So I went into the 2021 season with that pattern of taking it in, getting it up and then throwing it out in front of me, which is like an over the top move that I've never done. So it goes two ways. It goes all over the place. And I started out in Abu Dhabi managing it and I had a chance to win there. I didn't play a great final round finish third. And then just progressively over the course of the next couple of months, not working on it and not really focusing on it. It just got into this pattern that seemed really, really hard to get out of. So I sort of pieced it together a little bit, missed the cut in LA..

"Seen this video yet. Sam was good enough to forward it to me on Twitter. I have since retweeted it for all of my followers. If you don't follow me, shame on you. Do it. You need to do it just to see this video. So follow me at Jodi McMahon Te'o Do I m a C m a n at the Scottish Open, where a lot of the top media tour players are playing this week leading into next week's British opened. Yes, I called it the British Open if they take you off tough, you know what? Um John Rahman Rory McIlroy around the 10th tee and they're waiting to tee off and they're just standing around talking. It's not like they're prepping for their shot. Uh, I It's Rory McIlroy is. Clubs are They're standing around Rory's clubs. The bag is standing itself is standing and nobody's holding onto the bag, either. His catty is standing there with them. And a gentleman just walks over. We don't see him coming from behind the ropes. The tee box areas are all roped. Often the fans are kept behind the ropes. We don't actually see that they've got the camera fixed. And Rory McIlroy is bag is a center of the shot with worry and Jon Rahm standing around it. And this gentleman casually walks over reaches into McElroy's bag, and when I say casually, he's got one hand in his pocket. He's trying to make it look like he's supposed to be. Going into Rory McIlroy is bag which, of course he's not. But he does pull it off pretty well with the very casual look that he's got to him and he reaches in and he's going to pull out Rory's driver, so he pulls off the driving head. I'm sure he was trying to get the whole driver, but the only thing he got was the cover. So then every pulls the cover away. He reaches back into the bag. Rather than grabbing the driver. He just grabs another iron. Whichever iron. It happened to be. And then he walks out of the shot and he's going over toward the tee box. They're standing to the left of the tee box. He's going over and you see one quick shot of him, Um, with the club in his hand, and it looks like he's gonna take some practice swings. He doesn't have any ball, but he's gonna take some practice swings on the tee box. I'm sorry, Rory McIlroy Scaturro is to be called on the carpet for this. This is kind of his job. He's not actually playing. He's got to be able to protect the clubs of the player that he's caddying for. And he does not do it. I'm sorry, just kind of stands there now. McIlroy Because I walked right past McIlroy. I'll get McIlroy credit, He was at least taken aback. He does it double take as he sees the guy walking away with one of his clubs. His caddy just stands there and does Zeppelin. Duda doesn't do a watches. The guy pulled the club out of the bag. You know that your guy That's his club. He slowly walks over. It, doesn't it? Look to intervene doesn't like, look to grab the club back by any stretch of the imagination, And then he finally starts to, like, Look around for security, like, Hey, I need a hand here. This guy is taking a club of my player. That's not good. I'm sorry, Harry Diamond. His name of Rory McIlroy is caddy and I don't know if there will be There's got to be some kind of conversation between McIlroy and his caddy. Now your body is your working hand in hand. Rory hired him. He is hiring him for his on court expertise to be able to judge distances and Give Rory a an opinion when need be. It's one of those unstated rules. We talk all the time about unwritten rules in sports. I'm a fan. I got no problem with them. Understanding what you can or can't do, depending on the scoreboard Where your team is that stuff like that, Uh, this is an unwritten rule of golf. Caddie's job. Protect your players clubs. If someone during around is able to procure one of your players, clubs, that's your job. First of all, you can't let it happen to begin with. All right, So you already dropped the ball. But once you have You need to go back and Fitch This club. He didn't He let the guy walk away with it, and he just kind of looked at him as he's moving over toward the practice. He's getting ready to take a couple of swings. My assumption is that security eventually at least the way it's being reported it was on Irish golfer magazines, Twitter account and kudos to them for having a Johnny on the spot camera to be able to capture this. But I don't know if I'm prior in my cat Er if I'm just giving them a tongue lashing, But you can't do that. You can't let somebody walk up and take worry McElroy's club out of his bag in the middle of around That's not good Caddy etiquette. Come on. You got to do better than that. All right. So we mixed cop in with the baseball conversation. Somehow we got into armadillo conversations. I don't know how that actually transpired. Um, but I'll let you go wherever you want. I'm a telephone line. 855 to 1 to 4 to 27 mentioned that, um, a little perturbed put off by the fact that neither Fernando tatty for bladder Guerrero Jr are going to take part in the home run hitting contest in Colorado next week. I I look at it as the same as the slam dunk contest in the NBA because and baseball's All Star game is better than any other All Star game. I've always believed that still believe it to this day. Because it is still the same competition mano a mano picture against the era. When you break it down, it's going to be a pitcher against a hit her. So you're getting into the box. You're gonna try and get a hit off this guy. He's going to try and get you out. Even though the game doesn't matter in the actual one loss result doesn't really change anything. Um, the fact that you're competing when you're out there, mano mano here against picture makes it the same thing. NBA NHL pro ball different rules. Guys aren't really going at full speed. It's just a completely different type of game than regular games. So I think the the All Star Game in baseball is better than any of the other off again. Just because of that fact, But I get just as motivated if Norm not more motivated for what transpires in the competition that takes place prior to the actual All Star game in Major League Baseball is the home run inning contest. In the NBA. They have several of them, but it has always been highlighted by the slam dunk contest. I actually like the home run contest more, even though much like old recipes. It's not really like the sport. They are throwing lobs. It's batting practice pitching. They have changed the rules over the years. I actually think they've upgraded it and made it a better television product because they used to just let you had home run after home run after home run after home, it could take an hour plus. Have the home run contest. They've put a more of a clock aspect on it, which is good. I think that it's actually a more entertaining thing. The slam dunk. You know how many slam dunk you get? That is a, uh, time can already constrained sporting event. But there are just known more new dunks. I get it home, runs a home runs a home run. But watching different guys go in different parks does change it every single year, So I really enjoy the home run contest. I would you know, people listen to meet all here on CBS sports radio or.

There is Rory with an extremely respectable T five finish. I didn't know any better. You think this guy been in contention or something? Of course, he wasn't. It's just that when the pressure was off of him 18 holes into a 72 whole tournament Mom Mad actually started to play like the four time major winner that he is like the fourth best stick in the world that he is. Hard to believe, considering what Dustin Johnson just did. But consider this. Rory actually played the final 54 holes off the master's better than DJ. So the next time you hear somebody say that you cannot lose Ah golf tournament on the first day, point them at Rory. He actually did lose the golf tournament on the first day. Not the calendar year will be closed. With no more majors. Rory's drought is about to hit seven years which, for player of his caliber is pretty insane. I mean, I'm not saying it's easy to win a major But in that same period of time, Brooks is 14 of them. You're on speed this 13, and he's got no idea where the hell he is, and hasn't had any idea for a long time. Now. DJ just got a second. Even the cat at age 42 got one. Rory's had six chances to join Jack Tig Hogan. Gary Player, Jean Sarah's in As the on Lee golfers ever to complete the career slam, and he'll get 1/7 opportunity in April when they run the master's back again. At this point, I'll tell you what. I'm gonna take D. J and Brooks to get the slam before Rory. And they're each only halfway there. That's still bet on both of them, Not one of them, both of them. And before we put a bow on the master's completely let me tip my hat. And give a phony smile. And a big thumbs up to the great Phil Mickelson. Go back to last month, where the 50 year old rolled out to Hiss Second Senior PGA Tour event, and then he rolled up the field for his second senior PGA Tour win. He was what he had to say about that afterwards, and I quote It's fun for me to come out here and play well, and this is a good start for me is I try to build a little moment, um, heading into Augusta next month, end quote. That quote sounds almost exactly like what he said after he won the first. Old fat guys event. Because he said that it would help him in his preparation for the U. S. Open it win foot Now, if shooting 13 over par and missing the cut is helping him prepare then yes, that helped him get ready for the open a lot. So let's see if anything else changed prior to Augusta. Let's see. Let's see a beating up on a bunch of senior citizens actually does help him in the majors. Didn't work out for us Open, but maybe maybe the Masters would be different. Let's take a look. Nope. Phil Mickelson tied for 55th four spots above D F L And making history by matching his worst ever 18 hole, score the Masters with a third round 79. And this is what I called out back in August when 50 First said that he was using the Champions Tour to prep for majors. I called Bs right then, and I was right. In fact, I was right both times. Look, I'm not gonna sit here and laugh the guy's face. But that doesn't mean that elk won't Look, I already did back on last week's pod when I asked Steve Elkington. If there's any possibility that you can get major ready out on the senior circuit, not of chance. Might. He's out there just smashing it out on the champions, too. He's playing against guys like Doug back. Bernard Langer, who's an animal. He's 60 something years old him break pepperoni baby last week. He's like Jesus Christ! So I can't get enough of Phil. This is better than the Kardashians. This guy coming back. Tell me he's getting ready for the masses By plan, you know, Champions Tour. Has amazing cut. They like to fully appreciate that cut. You have to hear that back. There's elk. Alvin with a J C blast. He can barely even articulate the thought without cracking up. And he said that Pat Perez thinks it's hilarious and that it's even better than the Kardashians. Not chance, right. He's out there, just smashing it out on the champions, too. He's playing against guys like Doug back. Bernard Langer, who's an animal. He's 60 something years old him breath paparazzi. They move last week. He's like Jesus Christ! So I can't get enough of Phil. This is better than the Kardashians. This guy coming back. Tell me he's getting ready for the masses. By plan, you know, Champions Tour. So, like all your apologies, and all of you who are part of the hefty nation they're eating out of the palm of his hand. You could just hear what l said, like his peers. Had Perez like thinks it's the funniest thing ever like. I can't get enough of hefty telling people I'm getting ready for majors by playing on the Champions Tour like the guys who actually do it. Guys were actually in a think is the funniest thing ever like. It's such a joke. Hefty. I know this is impossible for you, but just once meant just be real for once. Just shoot it straight for once and just say it. No, these old man events on these shorter, easier tracks are not getting you ready for anything that matters. You say it. It's easy. It's easy, easy money. Anyone who says they can't. I mean, this is what he should say. Here's why I'm out here because it's easy. It's easy money and anybody who says that they can't wait to get to 50 to start mugging a bunch of old dudes and ripping their wallets are lying out there, Ass. That's why I'm out there. Easy, bleeping money. If you were to say that I cannot tell you how much I would respect it. If you would just say it. I know you never will, even if you know it's true, and that is the reason you're out there. Because it's helping me get ready for the U. S open because it's helping me get ready for the Masters. Come on, man. Just say it. Just say it easy, bleeping money. I couldn't wait for my 50th birthday. Lost, £50 turned 50 started cashing giant believing checks. Man. I would respect that so much. Why do you think I'm out here, man? I'm going up against 65 year olds. Easy, bleeping money. Still to come on Yucca Okan Woo NBA draft prospect that's coming up at 11 40 my time to 40 eastern time. Which means one more open segment. Use it. Try and get to Jimmy Butler Got an update on J buckets. There's no better place. Get in on all the football action. Saturday at the 2020 Masters
"Saturday at the masters in dustin. Johnson is running away. He carries a four shot lead into the final round sunday. Following a seven under sixty five saturday he was masterful tying jordan speiss fifty four hole record chasing johnson on the leaderboard are sung j. M abraham answer and cameron smith all four shots back while justin thomas and dylan 'fratelli sit five shots back following his round saturday. I called up with dustin johnson. Seven hundred sixty five news. Dustin johnson to sixteen under through three rounds. What did you do well saturday. And what if anything would you like to do. Better sunday I did everything while today. Adrover very nicely head. A bunch of fairways Hit a lot of greens and felt like i. I gave myself good chances on your on almost every hole. and so. that's kind of what you gotta do here. In the conditions. Not a lot of wind you know. Courses is fairly soft so you can be aggressive and Strike in a very nicely today And so you know tomorrow. We'll have to go out and do a lot of the same if i to win. Tied jordan speeds fifty four hole record. What's the balance between staying aggressive and not being dumb Well for me. It all depends on you know. Flag positions numbers Forgot a good number. And and i like the flag is a play aggressive but Like i said the course right now is is very receptive so you know i know the guys behind me are going to be trying to chase down south. You know you can't play you know there's a there's definitely a fine line of being too conservative and too aggressive but you just have to pick and choose my spots second last year. How did that impact your motivation. This time around. I mean yeah it was. I've played well last year. I played while the last couple years so obviously this one tournament that that i definitely want to win and you know. It means a lot to me. A- grew up so close to here and so it is something that i really look forward to until tomorrow is going to be a. It's gonna be a lot of funding. I'm gonna try to enjoy myself as much as i can and Hopefully hopefully outcomes good tomorrow afternoon. You heard dustin johnson say right there how badly he wants to win the masters. It's the dream of every player in the field in this eighty. Four th edition for more analysis on the third round and what to expect sunday. Let's bring in the voice of masters digital jimmy roberts. Dustin carries a four shot lead into sunday following a seven hundred sixty five saturday. He was masterful. Tying jordan speiss fifty four hole record assess his performance on saturday. A great it was basically as good as you could get You know you said it. He tied the fifty four hole scoring record. It is a different time of year. But i don't think it really matters. I mean the thing that sticks out to me is that you know through fifty four holes. He's got two bogeys which is unimaginable. On this golf course and they were in consecutive holes. Fourteen and fifteen in the second round. And when you stop to think about it he bogeyed the second easiest hole on the course which means that by all rights. He should probably expect to birdie the fifteen th hole. You give him two more strokes and he's just farther ahead of the pack. But i will just say this. I was here in nineteen ninety six and i covered that masters where greg norman had six stroke lead and nick faldo came back to win it so i mean this course can do things to you i mean. I think that there were extenuating circumstances that year. Norman had some physical difficulties. That didn't manifest until the final day and faldo played effortlessly. I think he shot sixty seven It's gonna take that for somebody to beat him tomorrow Somebody's going to have to play really really well. And he's going to have to stumble. What is it about this golf. Course that suits his game so well. Well i mean at this point really. He's the number one player in the world and he's as they like to say in europe he's on form so you know. He's a finely tuned engine right now and He's not even close to the red line. So i mean he is just got it all going on right now. I mean he's you know. I always say that you know. These are the best golfers in the world on on a week to week basis. You know you shouldn't be surprised if somebody you've never heard of comes up and wins a tournament because they are all remarkably talented. But he's the best of all of them right now and he is playing really well You know we've talked about this over the last couple of days. He you know he's long and straight which is tough to beat and then a couple of years ago. He decided that in order to get better you had to work on his wedge game so he went and did that he's become a terrific putter and he's completely unflappable. He i think. And i think that's the most important thing i think he's a guy who just does not get undone by much. I just asked him a few moments ago. what's the balance between maintaining the aggression. That got you here without going too far. Yeah i'd i'd be curious to know what he said but in all honesty. I've never seen him loses. Temper made him. I've never seen him hot. I've never seen him running hot. I'd seen him disappointed disappointed. And you're not going to be able to see this on the podcasts. But you know it's just kind of an shucks wish i hadn't tripled that whole crazy when i do. Something you know like that He's really he's a talented man. Who's in stride right now and You know he's done a lot He's one everything but tons of majors. I mean he's tiger tiger woods. He's one in to start his career. He's won thirteen consecutive seasons to start his career. Only tiger woods is done that and he tied him tiger actually one in his first fourteen seasons. But i mean he just consistently wins you know and it's hard to beat talent you know and worth work ethic when you match those two things together. It's very difficult. Let's look at the leaderboard. That is chasing dustin johnson song j. m. abraham answer cameron smith all four shots back. Justin thomas and dylan for tally. Five shots back if you were going to pick one to catch him. I don't think there's any question. The person who watches is Is justin thomas. But the way sunday m is playing and things are different now than they used to be. You know it's been forty one years since a first timer has one here that was fuzzy zeller nineteen seventy-nine. You know i was with the jack nicklaus this morning doing something and He talks. Jack came here and he didn't win for the first five times that he played here. But this is a course more than any other course were experiences necessary. But look you've got answer and in two players who were here for the first time in their you know right nipping at his heels Sebastian munoz too. So i i do think that must not be worth as much as it has been in the past given the level of talent and work of these guys but you know you give me a guy who has the experience and a guy who doesn't of equal talent and at the same spot in their game. I'm gonna take the guy with experience at this place every single time. Rory mcilroy and brooks koepka. Both superstars both at eight. Under after three rounds. How plausible is it that they might contend on sunday. I think it's entirely plausible. I mean i think that you know mcelroy's trending in the right direction after that seventy five in the first round which was disastrous for him. Just can't seem to get out of his own way sometimes but he's got a game. That's ideally suited for this place. He hits it high far and straight. His natural shot is right to left You know he's been number one in the world he's not undone by these big situations. Generally i think he's going to be a very interesting guy to watch tomorrow. But in all honesty there's so much daylight between dustin johnson and the rest of the field at this point and it's not the daylight of four strokes. It's the daylight of four strokes with the number one player on the one side of that daylight. Who's playing well. And i mean. I think it's gonna take dustin johnson shooting seventy two or three tomorrow. I mean i suppose it could happen. You know greg. Norman shot seventy six. Nick faldo shot sixty seven That lead had evaporated by the tenth. Tentpole the eleventh hole So you never know. But i would be. I would be shocked. But i remember being augusta national in in One thousand nine hundred ninety six and remember all the stories that we were doing. And i did a story for. Espn that night. And i said you know it would be shocking if greg norman didn't win but if he doesn't it will be one of the biggest stories and we won't soon forget it and here. We are all these years later. Talking about it at augusta national right now.

"I don't think I've ever seen a win the tournament. I mean, every time I sit down to watch the tournament, I'm rooting for Rory McIlroy. What? My partner's a big Irish guy, and he's not. He's not one's last time he wanted tournament. Well, he's you know, he's one recently that the issue for him he's had, you know, ever since the quarantine, he's struggled right, So he's one of the guys that was one of the better players in the world before the pandemic it and when, when the tour restarted, for whatever reason, he's been struggling, Although his wife they had a baby poppy, a baby girl. But this, you know, I'm a huge fan of Rory's. And I worry that that the Masters might end up being to him. What P g A P. J was tired. You know, in terms of winning the career Grand Slam because he's He's unbelievable. Well, I mean, I don't mean to diminish his accomplishments. I just feel like you know, maybe he's always up there in the money and things like that, But I just don't recall the last time I saw him with a tournament, but you know a lot more about it than I do. By the way I was in Ireland for Rory's wedding. I mean, I was in Ireland, but that wasn't invited to the wedding. But we were there. Martin Ashford, right? No, I could see it from where I was standing. Um, So last time we talked, we talked about how golf was just gangbusters during the pandemic Got kind of a slow start. You know, it was banned in Illinois for a time, but once it reopened You couldn't find a tee time We've been blessed there. You've been blessed with really nice weather in November. I think what we're seeing last year. At this time, It was 17 degrees on Dhere. We're in the seventies. Just a day or two ago. I would imagine that crunches continued for golf courses. Yeah, It's been unbelievable last week, and it's an example. I was I was hoping to play one of the city golf courses, and there wasn't a tee time available anywhere all weekend. I mean, it's You know it Z unlike anything anybody seen certainly in recent memory, and today again, 55 degrees maybe, and every place was jammed. I think it's you know, there is a also since Syria desire to get outside should give a bad but it's just fantastic because you know, another conversation have been about how golf courses are hurting. And it's a pandemic is terrible, obviously, But look at this. Something nice grows out of it. Matt McEntee from Green Golf Partners. Where do people find more information about your course is met..

I like on this morning, Dr Roger Teal, Who's a friend of mine and a mentor of mine. Who was on with us for a Knauer and just really just really good advice on how to stay in the light and stay positive and a lot of its perspective. You look at things. You know Somebody's always got it worse than you do know? Sure, you know, and he just really made us all feel really good. We're gonna probably how did you know him Or how do you know him? He was the longtime pastor of Mile High Church in Lakewood, which is a non denominational church. I've met him through. Michael Beckwith, the guy from the secret who's also a good friend of mine, and Roger and I became really good friends and Just a really good dude. We'll try to get him on this show. Maybe next week. I think I think our listeners would really like hearing him. He just just He's so comforting and has such a good outlook on life. He put me in a good place this morning when I was Listen, your guy's a show all of us. He may be a super spreader of positive. He certainly is. Think he might have the title over Rick, by the way. I would handle the mantle Really would. He's the man Wants to do that. So, yeah, we feel good. Absolutely. Hey, Brenda Layne coming up in a tunnel. Six. We'll talk with our Are, uh, prognosticator and see who he's gonna pick this week. A couple of things. The high school state championships, all of them. Ever moved to the lovely city of Pueblo. A lot of good friends down there. Uh, you know what? I think it I think it may be. I'll tell you what I know. Pretty good friends with with, uh, with the Derosa family and Danny is the A real force behind getting this done. And so I think for all the teams that are fortune enough to go Anatomy and all the championships are gonna be played that they're gonna play championships on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It's amazing Is it because there are different variants that we are? Well, I think that's one of the reasons for sure. And I think 4858 normally play and empower field of mile high. That wasn't gonna work because you're only allowed 5700 fans. In the gate as of right now, and they need 9000 simply to break even, plus. You know when? When the four A five a state championships take place. Everybody is seated in the lower bowl. Well because of the socially distanced mandates you have to seat 5700 like for a Bronco game. Rick and I will look up and they'll be people sitting in the fifth level, right? We can't you can't. You can't do that. In high school because you don't have enough people. Tioga basically run the show, so I think it'll be a good good long weekend. A football pueblos a great great town Great football town. And so, uh, not very far either. No, don't perform out there for what? I mean, whether maybe nicer down there at that time of year, then Yeah, that's true. Getting a December It s e. I think it's the first weekend in December. I think I believe so. Yeah. Master starts today. I don't know, Uh, that z gonna be weird Sort of see that first time the Masters has ever taken place in the fall. But this is this is the year of first for a lot of things. Right. So many bets on it. I didn't get you a few this morning. Did you take? I'm looking right now. Trying to see I have. Ah, I've got a boost that I took on. Rory McIlroy or Dustin Johnson, either one winning Well, that might be Dustin Johnson's Uh, he's one of the favorite he went last year. No, we didn't win last year. Tiger did. Tiger Woods won my Tiger one last year, But Dustin and Rory McIlroy are two of the top four favorites, and then I took I took just a bet on on John Graham. Who's plus 1400. And he's the he's the guy from a issue. That's also very, very good, isn't he? The world number one now? Yes. Think he might be? Yes. And And in the odds, he's like eight. Seventh grade. So that's what I took today. I'm not a real golf fan. I don't I don't watch that much so I came to And and honestly had the high school football season here in Colorado not been reinstated. I would have accomplished at least part of this goal already, but I aim to get you back on. Golf course where we could go out and just, you know, play. Once week or whatever, and just have some fun. I'm heading that direction again. I feel it. Yeah, I mean, super spreader positivity, right? Nothing more positive than yelling and screaming and cursing golf course. Well, you know what happened? I've said this pro and clubs on the air. I mean, part of the problem with golfers when you're like us. Did you just confuse your golf law? Right. Your golf ball is totally confused because when I you know And I played a few times like with couple friends recently. Before the high school football season. Got reinstated, actually bought new clubs said. You know what? I'm gonna get back into this. So off the tee box, right? And then you immediately start yelling all sorts of different things that your balls got cut or fade down down. He knows what to do, right. I mean, kick. I mean, it's like you confuse. I confuse the hell out of my golf ball, Which is I'm gonna blame that on my game. Part of the problem with golf for guys like us is I'm very competitive and you are super competitive. I don't like to do anything that I'm stuck at. Yeah, or at least decent. I have to be at least decent or I just don't enjoy it. But some people can just hack their way around a golf course and have fun. I'm not that guy..

Me and Fitz Simmons. Freddie Coleman has the night off. Thanks for spending part of your evening with us. Let's get two straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk Wireless Rinaldi. Thank you for your time and putting in some OT today after a long day. Ah, by joining us here on ESPN radio is how Tung Li has. He left the course yet, Rinaldi Or is he still know he's been in case? Anyone that doesn't understand of in that way, made a bit of a big deal of the telecast about the fact that Seemingly until we actually talked to a later and had our the record corrected. It seemed as though he had unless, despite the fact that he was on the second group off just after 7 a.m. local time. And we're still around the course. 0 11 hours later that didn't turn out to be the case. You'll stay nearby. He did leave the course. He did grab a bite to eat, Take a rest and then come back, but not for very more. And he put in a practice session, which was at least a year and 1/2 hours long. So roughly in on par with how long it took him to play and a spectacular around. That has to clear here as the leader and heading into the weekend. But I don't care that he went to grab a turkey sandwich down. Shut his eyes for half an hour. I mean, when you were talking to Jason Day almost fell off my couch. That's when I shot you a text like, Dude, you got me crying. Jason Day with was saying to you That dude is weird. I'm going to go over there and just tackle the guy. I mean, he needs to go. And it was there after the leader, the leader ofthe event, a cz much fun as we had. How ugly is a talented but very inconsistent player, and when he's firing on all cylinders and reaching his high, don't he is he can be a force. Obviously, consistency is a huge part of building yourself into a champion in this game, and he stared down Rory McIlroy a couple of years ago. Dubai on the European Tour toe win there. He had a horrendous experience at the Presidents Cup in in December. He so there are positives and negatives. What he is. If you haven't seen a play, folks, he is a war. Strong, powerful player who pan conjure ready Dustin Johnson in terms of that kind of language and great strength and easy power. When it's all clicking it not as good and iron player perhaps As Dustin Johnson, but he has played beautifully to this point. They put a move on it today, going five under eight under on attorney We'll see what he does tomorrow. Tom Rinaldi here with us live from TPC Harding Park on ESPN Radio on me and Fitz Simmons. Describe that three hole stretch was 11 12 13 that the woods McIlroy Justin Thomas Group had because it seemed like a three hole stretch. They all wanted to just put behind him. Moravek, Andy North who we love Just put it beautifully. He just said the group was quote unplugged. And what he meant was it lost all its juice and all its power in the group just collectively hit a wall. Not that they were firing on all cylinders by TV heading into that stretch, but in particular McIlroy, who was on a great care who had birdie four in a row, giving three back With a triple bogey, including a three putt from seven feet on 12. And this is this Is that Peter the course It's very, very difficult Scratch there. And remember, this is the number one player in the world. Rory McIlroy, who's a lot of people believe is the best player in the world when he said it high note and Tiger Woods and that group struggled Ah, in particular. Right there in that stretch, and I'm sure your last tiger what a difference a day makes in terms of his work on the greens. He went straight to the practice. Putting Green after signing his card essentially didn't really speak to the media other than other than sticking a golf tee vee is that you know, the media outlet that he owns a part of But in essence, he got right back to the green. But when it comes to majors, he gets locked in and it feels like Not enough people across the country coast to coast. Give this young man enough credit and he's a two time PGA winner. Two time U S Open winner And here he is again six under on the tournament and in perfect position going into the weekend. What is it about this guy? Well, even if they do give him credit. He has selective deafness, and he's used that any flight by infected in realize he's a terrific and engaging die could be around and I've had to get the normal bid and I really enjoy him. But make no mistake. He raised some eyebrows in a year ago when he echoed A great quote in his own way from Jack Nicholas long ago when Nicholas had suggested that the easiest events tto win or major championships and where Jack Nicholas had said, albeit after he was done playing was He focused, though he could eliminate 90% of the field from most major championships when he walked in the locker room, which is is an incredible thing to say, in which books kept echoed Ah, year ago when he said half Half the players are not going to play well enough. And then he went from there, so ultimately he is just as this week. How many players do you really have to be? And he said, I don't know. About 10. This is this is 156 person field, and he's suggesting he needs to be 10. And guess what? That's the competitive swagger that he has earned. Part of it is baked in. But part of it is just acknowledging his own history that he played that well. We were forever crying to de mystify where that swagger comes from. And truthfully, it comes from proof in performance. Hey, is so far Italy better than anyone else in the last several years in the championships, he's always there was the least of criterion. The re suppertime be stretched out for for him. The tight hip and suddenly won't believe we look of where is he? He's too back and That was after a miraculous birdie on 18 when it wan't just Ah, preposterously good shot from a fairway bunker. He just has an absolute belief matched with great talent and a guy that gets up for the big moments love to watch him. Is that kind of along the same lines that Jason Day with you and Jason Day we're talking about when he said he loves to play the harder the toughest golf courses on because of what you just references that kind of along the same lines out. Jason Day is made up..

"rory mcilroy" Discussed on The Steve Warne Project - Sports
"As turn our attention to a little golf first of all the men's side we'll get to brooke anderson and what happened in the l._p._g._a. Tour in a second rory mcilroy smooth fifteen million dollars today when the tour championship for the second time in four years and that fifteen mill that he wins for winning the fedex cup. That's the largest cash payout in golf history. How's it going kepco was right there again till the end he bogeyed a couple of holes in the middle the back nine when roy birdie didn't that was that was a big four-shot swing so congratulations roy because he's getting a little short on cash steve with with the small little endorsement daily as he was the guy that was complaining kinda going <hes> salmon up the stream on the p._g. As new game plan here learn how playoff will work and going into the final tournament of the year that justice thomas starting with a minus ten like he's minus ten on the first i hole of the first day and that gives them a ten stroke lead on the guys at the bottom and so roy mcelroy is actually quite outspoken about that. I wonder if he's going to feel that way when they hand him that novelty cheque right now for fifteen million dollars right right well. I thought it was pretty good. I thought it was pretty good. Got the whole new format where because in the past steve was this point system and you got more points for winning one event over another one <hes> you know we've talked about a million times. How convoluted involuted was. I think it was really smart that wiped out all the points and the guys who have been most successful up to now get a lead it a slight lead and became way more watchable people way more watchable <hes> and way more straightforward <hes> so i kinda liked it. I kind of liked it the idea so take nothing away from from the winner <hes> anyone outside of <hes> justin thomas which is only one guy ten under and then they start at eight seven etc down to the thirtieth place guys guys are even or the last. I don't know exactly where it is but twenty five to thirty years so i know what roy went in there was he was he mighty started minus forty five or six shots back yeah. I'm not sure exactly how anybody who's obviously behind thomas and the the problem of the mcelroy has and <hes> and it's a fair statement in that you know so the guy who has the best number for the week doesn't actually win the tournament and is that is that like adam scott right now. He finished the finish. The tournament <hes> the minus four in the fourth round. I wait a minute. I wanna make sure i got this right here. I'm looking at just today's but the point is mark that now make more than i've ever had to before on the show that i didn't wanna make many it's on <hes> but the point that the point that rory was coming up with was that you can have the best final tournament score of of anybody and still not win the tournament. He didn't think that that was right. The guy was the best tournament the best four days in the season ending tournament that should be your champion and and it's not necessarily going to be the case yeah well. That's because they're caught in the old way gulf. What's right there. You're going to have to you're going to make some adjustments here guys in your mindset <hes> because the fedex cup to have this playoff season was the whole purpose of it was to keep interest up at golf because it just completely drops off after the last major which has has been the british open that no one shows any interest until in april the next year so they started this wraparound season..
Justin Justin Thomas, Rory Mcilroy And Golf discussed on PTI
"Some high profile golfers are agitated about one of their own young stars in his penchant for agonizingly slow play bryson d shambo who has a bitter charisma and maybe more than a bit because of his style and his wonky scientific approach to everything from his clubs to his mechanics so so much time standing over the golf ball before actually swinging the ticked off some peers including bruce kepco rory mcilroy and justin justin thomas for starters dish took as long as two minutes to get his shot off when the rule allows forty seconds and now the p._g._a. Says it will review its its policies and consider more ways to penalize players tone this too harsh you want to defend de shambo his agonizingly slow play so so i will point out that as we compressed that over two minute thing into that putting didn't even hit the whole anyone three feet by after walking around twenty seven times look. There's nothing thing worse than slow playing golf. There was nothing absolutely nothing hit the ball fine. The ball hit it again. Find it again hit it again slow. Oh players kill fast players and slow players are oblivious that his whole deal the reason. None of these slow players get find in any way is because the tore four doesn't wanna find him but why not maybe the tour tony mike it was baseball didn't wanna rush the pace for a long time and it knows because it is losing viewers and and okay so maybe doesn't golf have to deal with no well not really because it's the way the way you produce and direct gulf.
Tiger battling stiffness ahead of playoff opener
"Tell you you might remember his last start in the playoffs was last year and his epic win at the twenty tour championship that sort of set the stage for his win at the masters this year that win moved him into a tie with rory mcilroy dustin johnson for the most wins during the playoff since they debuted which was in two thousand seven. The three repairs are combined for a twenty five percent of the playoff events contested today and we're going to show you live pictures right now. Tiger woods as he is on the course and we will bring michael collins into the conversation because michael as you saw there has been following tiger around liberty national this morning good morning michael collins. What have you seen. How is tiger looking this morning. You see tiger walking off right now but he told me before he said <hes> oh here. We would have been around this morning what i said. What should i tell everybody he goes. Tell him i'm on the t. but he was supposed to be on t. at seven and there was a delay so he didn't get out on the t. till seven thirty so he was lying about seeing on the t. Here's what i've seen for tigers so far today. It's as simple as this. <hes> it is a pro-am there are three guys playing with it from the northern trust and and it's been just like this when it comes down to it. He's been hitting the ball pretty good. Yesterday he played a practice round with brooks kapka dustin johnson and <unk> harold varner the third and they had a lot of fun out there. Those guys play ten holes tiger hit a pretty good. The funny story was sarah varna. The third started the day and said i'm just gonna hit it by tiger. So you're like a iron pipe and tiger said i'm a hammer and hammer beats pipe. Every time and varner never hit a pass them. He thought he did want and said. I got you on that one. I got you on now and i've been working out and harrow garner that there's caddy do him under the bus and said man. You worked out two days. Which of course it does. The johnson brooks let a couple ago and when they let their drives go even how varner that there was a. I think they got both of tiger. I think they gotta pass this so far tigers. There's just hit it okay. He hasn't hit spectacular to be honest with you because there was a delay. The range was opened late. So tiger looks a little bit stiff like he hasn't gone through his full warmup warmup routine. He said a couple balls left. Enwright came up short with an iron shot from the middle of the fairway so it looks like he's just slowly but surely trying to get warmed up but that's what pro-am i am days four right yeah super-quick michael. You've been white on with us when we had you on before the british open and we drowned before the p._j. Both times you said don't expect much from him. Give me a rundown here. What do we expect from him in these playoffs this well let me start. Let's just start with this week. It's real easy for this week my prediction for tiger this week he's gonna fall fall outside the top ten but i think he can be inside the top twenty five and the reason that i say that is because the forecast for this week is for temperatures to be in the mid eighties every single day which means tiger won't have trouble warming his back up and it also means. You don't have to worry about getting stiff during the rounds. Hopefully this'll be a good week for tiger. We'll be watching and we get these playoffs underway earlier than in years past as they have a new schedule on the p._g._a. Tour so well done michael enjoyed out there. Stay safe tigers coming at you and we will see you a little but later in the program his pen back adam. Thank you michael collins. We'll see in a little
Are we living in the Brooks Koepka era?
"<hes> on. Would we go. We got five topics number. One has everything to do with Brooks. KEPCO ABC Brooks won the W._g._C. Fedex Saint Jude Sunday forget how he did it or who he beat he won. That's a matter of fact it is his seventh to her win. Six of those have come in the last three years for them have been major championships. He's number one in the world. He's going finish this year at that spot unless someone goes crazy and so I asked you to think about Gulf history are we living in the Brooks kept get era yeah. We are undeniably undoubtedly. I think everyone still getting used to it. I think Brooks kept guy is even still getting used to it. I mean listen what he said in his press conference after his win. Yesterday he said you know it's always nice to squeak out a victory over probably the best player right now the best player referring to rory mcilroy who's clearly. I'm not the best player right now. We'll get more rory in a second but there was no doubt who the best player on the golf course was yesterday once he made his Birdie Putt in rory missed on number three there was just this sense of inevitability <unk> gravity. Whatever it is that happens when kept good takes control of Golf Tournament? Usually we see that a major championship in this case it was a flat W._G._C.. <hes> but it really underscored the sense is that when this guy is on he is the king all right so then for the twenty tense. Let's talk about the Erez I mean I think there are three yeah. I don't know Oh man. I know what you think this entire conversation yes. The beginning of the twenty tens. The first era is the tiger hangover your is tiger for one is still dealing with the wake of his infidelity to he's not playing as well. He's got all these injuries so then the second era is the Rory era rory takes over he wins four majors in in. I don't know five years a bunch of other winds on both tours the European tour and the P._G._A.. Tour he is number one player in the world. He is the second coming they say of Tiger Woods whether yeah that's true it's probably not then the third era I think is the Brooks era in which I mean there is no Jason Day speed or D._J.. Iran what do you think well. I mean it's funny. I looked at this 'cause I was thinking about in article. All this happens sometimes get deepened articles that never quite make it to fruition but this whole idea of you know this game of thrones were there is a power vacuum or board guys were battling for that top spot and not just the world number-one ranking but truly truly like golf's heavyweight title belt the championship belt. You're not just number one by name but you are undoubtedly the best player in the world by any definition and it went around and around and around in this post Tiger Tiger Post Rory Era D._J.. J._T. Speed Jason Day there. I mean they're all these guys that were rotating around. Justin rose got in there kept. I got in there for a second <hes>. It's not until recently we probably at the P._G._A.. <hes> that Brooks really staked his claim to the throne. None of those dudes had it for more than one year now speed is one three majors was makes you think there is an era their speed era <hes> what he won on them during an incredible Twenty fifteen year yeah twenty sixteen he didn't he didn't play well in twenty sixteen. He won a couple times on tour but that was it twenty seventeen. He gets his British open and his anything since like D._J.. A._J.. He wins at oakmont. Here's a great year after that then he doesn't win for a little bit of so Jason Day has like seven wins and twenty five starts really hot for one year fades after that Justin rose gets the number one wins onto a couple of times fades after that these things they don't. There's no sustenance yeah well. I think I mean you know you said if you look at these quote Unquote Erez if you look at deejays era you need signature wins to define these things and the W._g._C.'s we have learned they you know for for all the the might the strength of field they cannot carry a player's legacy there to there to flat. They're good window-dressing in for Brooks kept good. That's exactly what this is. This is what this is best is non major win right. It's over strong field limited field but still really strong field. It's over Rory mcilroy the number three plan player in the world but it really supports his body of work in an important way for how we look at Kapka and I think that that made yesterday huge for him numb number one in the field in strokes gain putting by the way yesterday and for the week he gained what almost ten strokes putting this week so you know watching him. It just looks like oh he's not missing missing a shot in sitting in the middle of every green managing his way around now yesterday he got up and down all seven times that he missed the green <hes> he gained almost three strokes on the field

"Of fact, here to give us a read on the torn amend his point. And specifically going deciding round is the best golf analyst, I know you've been watching the golf channel in the mornings to get ready for the day, even catching remote thing down there. And he joins us now on the golf channel and his syndicated show life. Matt Adams AMA. I'm doing well. How you doing? Good. Appreciate you coming on before we get into the specifics year round number four, I need your take on how the US G A prepped plan prepared Pebble Beach this week today. Get it right to get it wrong deduction train hedge. Their bet what your read on what the course, has been put I three days at US open my readers. They got it right. Which was the first option that you gave me, but it also came from hedging bats because hard is heavily beaches Pebble Beach is only so much that you can do to eight c side. Of course, it's hard to screw it up the way you can, of course, say inland. So the US did a good job of not over engineering, not overdoing the golf course. But the easiest course it set out for US open his. Probably Pebble Beach. So it's kind of a combination of things they did do graduated raw that, we're a couple of fairways players were complaining early in the week, and they and they graduated and a little bit more. So they're being reactive to being sensitive back that they've had stumbles over the past few years. This year twenty nineteen everybody seems to be saying, I happen to agree that set up this US open a okay. Not everybody says that because yours truly disgrace, and I'll give degree. I tell you wouldn't number US open is this. Hundred nineteen hundred nineteen. All right. Mr. golf expert, how many times in the hundred nineteen years of the US, open have, we had a player shoot double digits under par. Well, the last has happened multiple times we've had multiple rows, and it ended in sixteen par including one Tiger Woods, including Bros, CAPCO. So it it's happening what you're referring to not to take away from your answer. But what you're referring to the fact that the US open as compared to the other three major championships. If you took the other three, right? EGA the masters, the open, vastly different setups, vastly different golf courses over the last fifteen years. Those three majors believe they're not gonna blow you way with this stat. They all come in between ten and eleven hundred par for all the variances. They all come in between. Let's stroke apart over the course of fifteen years. The US open is the one glaring difference coming in just over three hundred par now for the national championship. United states. I have no problem whatsoever. If it is the most difficult stern test of Gaul you can possibly have where the problem lies is when a golf courses over engineer, you are no longer identifying the best all around the golf course you're identifying the golf and that's not in most stricken by approval twist of fake where they would take collars rough like they did it. Okay. Fine. And put him in places that the architect never designed to be because they're trying to protect the score against standard of eve. Even par which went out of the best players in the world years ago. So that, that's where I'm probably from his sane right now at the end of this week, you're going to know who is best player was this week in prior US open when it was over engineered you never really one hundred percent. Sure. Okay. I will again, go back to the number that I quoted only nine times in the hundred nineteen year history of those nine seven came two years ago in two thousand seventeen where seven guys went under par kept go on at sixteen. Decky shot twelve Brian Harman shot twelve Pleat was eleven chop was ten Haas was ten fallow with ten only two other times, Rory mcilroy at congressional shot, minus sixteen tiger at Pebble Beach, minus twelve now nineteen years ago that, that did the yet, one year you had seven out of nine and in the other hundred eighteen times you had two guys go under ten. I think they're getting pre today. I think you're gonna see three guys who double digits under par by the end of the day, that tells me on sorry the court too easy. No, no, no. What it's telling you is that for last twenty years, there set up. Have been wrong. The US will admit this at shit o'clock. Last year we let it go too

"Big time of the year. You got obviously demand are gearing up for the US open in a couple of weeks at one of the conic venues in the country, and the women are playing a US open this week in Charleston, South Carolina. I think the US G four ball was just taking place. So it's a big season for the folks US, and as we pointed out important that these championships, are, are shining, a spotlight on the player rather on the setup and I think that will hopefully be the case this year. And right in the middle of it all time is Jack Nicklaus's tournament, which is, you know, kind of in a perfect spot in my opinion. And I just you keep reading and hearing that this is one of the favourite stops of the year for the guys on the PGA tour. And they all talk about how, how this, this tournament is so full of class, and how they do everything. Right. And, you know, they, they leave no stone unturned and, and. In terms of taking care of the players that are there, and it's just a very, very popular popular event with the guys. Yeah. Well, the one thing is I it's, it's Jack hometowns we know he grew up here, and of course, moved to, to south, Florida for for obvious golf purposes. Back in and say day to live there year round and have access to the good weather, but creating this tournament Mitch in, in the mid seventies, now it's the forty fourth edition and, and, and Jack Jack treats it like a major. It's it's you know, he is totally locked in. I think he's been pretty candidate when he's away when he retired from golf, he was not going to be as locked in with, with a week in week out golf tournament viewing, as, as he might have been in his in his playing days. He he's moved on to, you know, focusing on his family on his foundation raising money for children's hospitals, including the children's hospital here in Columbus Ohio, but he when he comes up to the tower here and sits in. Chair. I wish he does all four days for probably a total about eight nine hours, really? When it's all said, maybe a little less than that he is so immersed in, in watching these guys, you know, seeing how they try to dissect his course, in any creative fun of fun. Course here. One that you can shoot seventy eight. If you're off your game or sixty six if you're on a lot of birdie holes lot of holes where you can make make big numbers because of trouble. So you have that element. And then just a silly. He's for the guys to come here and practice at a driving range, here is amazing. It's almost like a three quarter circle it it's massive and the team grounded it self, I would say from one end to the other is close to two hundred yards. So you can pick an angle that you wanna play shots depending on the wind direction sidelines. What how what have you great practice green shipping areas, etc? As a golfer you'd love to have access to come. Here once in a while just to practice and maybe get a little bit better with your game. And I'm sure that's part of the reason the guys come here is the practice prepare for the US open the around Jack and play in his great tournament. Tom, I would be curious if Jack brought you a milkshake when he had his on air this week, we don't go into too much detail there. I know you're a very important about your fitness. But you talked about the high scores in the low scores Phil Mickelson who proclaimed to drivers in the bag shoot seventy nine yesterday, and I know we like to prepare you for your show today on CBS but the, the story of the day might be Steve Stricker currently four hundred through eight and moved up forty spots to the top twenty five. What a story there and you know, the field all the all the good players come to this one for Jack. Yes, exactly. For the reason that we just described John and I did have access to a milkshake, so I will get that out of the way. Lucky enough to receive one but yeah, the look at the guys that missed the cut you mentioned Phil Jason day who lives five miles down the road, can't seem to figure out this course, year in your out, Rory mcilroy. I it's been an enigma since he won. The Players Championship and comes off a good weekend TGI where he barely made the cut then rallied for a top ten. He misses the cut here future, you know, again, out a little bit of a of a ruling moment on Thursday, that someone who listeners may have been paying attention to Matt, Matt seem to be getting in the spotlight this year, for, for various reasons, most of them off course rather than on, but he's been playing well as won this tournament misses the cut, but then you flip it around and look at the top of the leaderboard, and you got speed who seems to be, you know every week. Now getting a little bit better had a chance last week and it colonial but faltered on Sunday. He's in the hunt here. Justin rose. Shooting sixty three yesterday. Playing with tiger. This is kind of becoming a common theme. Now we're guys are playing with woods. Remember kept was seventeen shots better than tiger playing head to head for two rounds at the PGA to rose in contention Fowler's out there. Tiger did make the cut. He's two hundred. He'll be team off shortly. So you have heavyweights making the cut and missing the cut. And that, that's the extreme that we talked about with, with Jack set up here. You know, you, you touched on Justin Rose wooded amazing scorecard. Tom, I mean, a visual with you start out with a square and a couple of double circles than a whole bunch of other circles. And when you figure out, I guess he started did he start today at, like four over or something like that to, to be in position where he is now. Yeah. Yeah, seventy five and had what ten ten threes on his scorecard yesterday. Unbelievable. And once again, Mitch it is, and it's, it's just fun. I it's a course that you can get on a roll. You've got four par fives that are. L reachable, but yet three of the four have water. So again, you can you can make it three. You can make a seven finishing holes are very tough. One thing I will mention about Columbus, Ohio. I mean, this is a truly great sports town. And the way they support this event, I it's, it's feels like a major when you're here on the day. It's got.

"Your field village where we are getting a shower right now. I suppose it's no surprise MIR field. The memorial has a long history of rain, rain, delays problem showers, dorms. So it's really unexpected. When you get right down to it not am I right on that? Yeah. That is. I'm sitting here looking at the hour by hour thing whether app on my phone. Yeah. Hundred percent chance of rain six o'clock hour, but then it goes down to forty percent during the seven o'clock. There you go. I think at pretty much any given time there will be rain somewhere around the area. We'll hit a few dry, periods from time to time but more than likely we're going to have some on and off showers and storms all day long today. Seventy six degrees for the high with again, some dry spell's here and there marginal slight risk for some severe storms best chance for the stronger storms in southern and eastern Ohio tomorrow, dry for most of us have been able to say that for a while. Seventy nine degrees for the high and only twenty percent chance of rain most of those to the south forecast is powered by the basement doctor seventy degrees right now downtown rain, falling, sixty nine at your severe weather station. But has been a frequent contender at Muirfield. You gotta drive it. Well, you have to drive it in the fairway especially this week. Rough is, is very thick shelled some good scores and how some good finishes around here. So it sits me. Well, I think like three the best five putting on her. I've had here. Yeah..

"Obviously, let's start. Tiger woods. Okay. He's eight to one which, again I'm going to say is ridiculous. I would never been anybody to win a golf tournament eight to one. But if I had to I probably wouldn't take Tiger Woods in this one, am I wrong in saying? No. You're not wrong and saying that. And let me just preface that by saying a couple of things. You know, Beth page black is a serious golf. Course it is long. It's just a, you know, Scotia under seventy five hundred yards. It's got an incredible incredible slope of one fifty five so for people that are listening that may not be that attuned into golf having a plan. A golf course it has a slope rating of one fifty five is an analogous to climbing by climbing Mount Everest. You know what I mean? It's steep in Scott, it's got a course rating Bryant of a kitsch over seventy seven while that. And combine all of that. I mean it's incredibly difficult. Number two. They expect some weather, you know, whether it be, I think I've Friday and Sunday hole with a chance. A rain and I think that's going to eliminate half of the field, right there number one, because of the weather, and even if they didn't have whether there, Brian, I think half of the field is eliminated because if you're not a bomber on that golf course your chances are swimming to win in my opinion. So and what I've heard about this golf course, the greens are fairly small, it's a, it's a ball striking golf course. So a guy that hits the ball long and straight probably gonna win this thing. But I guess you could say that about many majors out there. Right. So I look at a guy like Brooks. Kapka. Okay, kept is around ten to one. He's one of the favorites I'll tell you right now. I'd rather put my money on captain Tiger Woods. Well, I agree because kept goes is playing very, very good golf right now. Secondly, tiger winning the masters, you know, getting a lot of pricks and winning the masters but a wins a win. Okay, how hard it is to win a major little go back to back and. Win two majors. It just doesn't happen. And I just don't think the, the outer in tiger saver, especially if it is cold and rain tiger does not play good in cold or rainy weather. He just doesn't well, that's because he's a worst. That's what he requires conditions. That's because he's maintenance. That's why Dennis gimme gimme a long odds darkhorse in this thing. Oh boy. Very good question. You know played last week, and I've always liked a lot of. Is he's from whereas from India, big Roly, poly guy hearing that? Not lahiri. No, no cured that copy barn. Right. Okay. He got the length. He's got the game. He's playing good. I said for years, this guy is got to explode in a good tournament. I don't know what his odds are two hundred and fifty to one but how much two hundred and fifty to one, okay, there you go. John daly. Thousand that's my Bubba Watson, sixty two one boys that that's true Bubba is sixty to one, you know, here's another guy who is just no confidence right now. You know who probably I'm gonna say, Jordan speech, right? Your meal. He's people are I hear the most ridiculous thing the other day that there were when George came out, and he had a stellar year, you know, two three years ago, they're going, there's our next Tiger Woods. There's our next tiger was you gotta be kidding me. Yeah. See, that's, that's just completely ridiculous. All I is so far awful lot. It's Redick doesn't hit the ball far enough. That's the bottom line in this day and age of golf to be one of the best players in the world you have to hit the ball, at least three twenty three thirty three forty t. Has a magnificent short game. We know he's going to win more tournaments and he'll probably win more majors. But he's in my opinion. He will never be the number one player in the world ever again. I happen to agree with you. And I think right now with him. He says he's a grobian he's getting better, especially the short Dame as funny, but he's got demons. And I think that's the only thing that's stirring up on the greens, real. Masonic temple and over thinking that people have been saying that for a long time. Yeah. It's going to be interesting to see how long guys it takes for him to shake those demons and and get back to being him. Let's talk a little bit about Jason day. If you ask me, a guy, I wouldn't really call him a long shot because he's about thirty two one in most books. But Jason day has had a lot of success on, Bethpage. He's had a lot of success on this golf course. I know he's not the best player in the world, but he used to be he knows what it's like to win big golf tournaments. It seems like he is getting much back into form. And he's playing some better golf again. He's my guy that I look at nice say, well might might not be a bad idea to put a couple of bucks on Jason day. He said success here, he can win this tournament. And then I look at a couple of other guys like Patrick Canley, like, Tony female these guys that I think are do they've been in contention, and majors before they certainly have the talent to win it, and it just for them. It's just about getting over the hump. Those are a couple of guys, maybe not the biggest household names, but guys. Is that our top twenty players in the world that I think can win tomorrow? Well, I agree with you. I, I disagree a little bit with can leave. And though he's having a hell of a season but you happen to mention the guy where my money's on to win this tournament. That's Tony female. Yeah. He's all the tools. He hits the ball long way Jos the ball. And he he's got a magnificent. Nag -nificant short game. He's an incredible athlete as long as he doesn't sprain his ankle, a couple days before a major. He'll be he'll be just fun. Every did that the masters. Zander Shaw fell doesn't. He owns that the long drive record like four hundred fifty yards. Doesn't he? Zander sharply. Yeah. Yeah. I was not aware of that. I was not aware of that. I mean he's obviously a fine fine player. I just personally, just don't seem in the Knicks on this. I wouldn't you know, think to bet them, but again, anything can happen, J D And don't forget, all these guys are damn good. But there's certain things you have to have on a golf course like this to really up your percentage in, if you don't have I think you're going to be hitting your gifts your head against well, obviously short game and putting anywhere. But you gotta have the lake to gotta get it in the stairway on this golf course. And again, I think they haven't, you know, this, this course, is held what three or four different big big tournaments before and experience is, is really kind of out the window. I think it just got to look at the guys that are coming in that are kind of hot playing goes speaking of hot. I'm glad you mentioned that because Dustin Johnson has a very hot wife and pulling the Gretzky he is let me mention a few guys Dustin. Johnson. I mentioned, his trophy, wife, Rory mcilroy is twelve to one Rickie, Fowler guy. We haven't talked about is right there at sixteen to one Jon Rahm and other one eighteen to one with Justin Rose. And then you have Molinari in D Shambo at twenty two one those guys that I just mentioned. Is it fair to say that, that those odds are correct? And those guys have a good shot to get this thing as well. I do. I do. I think this one they picked it. They take pretty good. You know, again, there's ways that you can play is, you know, playing really, really good golf not being the longest hitter of the world. And most of these guys, you know, have that they keep them play. They've got a good short game. They have a good imagination. And that's, that's what you'd be on any PGA tour event Brian. You know, that's sure. No absolutely

"We are going to shift to N F L N. How time to tamper free agency is nearly upon us. But we'll work in these calls. I will take more of them. We still have another half of the show to go. But I do wanna hit some top NFL story lines before we get back to Westbrook versus Shane keys. All my money's on Westbrook. But it didn't actually get that far DJ is in Fairfax Virginia. Welcome to after hours. Good morning, Amy. I love the show much respect to you. Thank you. Okay. First and foremost, I wanna say this. Fans are not allowed to cross lines. When it comes to racial things are throwing things, you know, things of that nature. But here's the the raw true of what those comments and. Wow. What Russell Westbrook. You know, reacted the way he did. I don't know if you know this, but you may want to keep this registration. Now when slaves were bought brought here, the in slave males were actually worse. I perform these. Home of these homo X on their slave owners. And if they didn't perform these acts on each other. Or their slave owners. They were castrated. Okay. Sir. You have got to turn down your radio. I'm hearing me while I'm hearing you and we're on a thirty second delay. No problem. So these enslaves males were actually castrated in. And I know you said that okay? Keep going so. That's the the the the raw truth of how deep these comets touch Westbrook. So in your opinion, in your opinion that phrase was referring to something that slaves would have to do. And so it was very much racist. Okay. Overreaction from him. You know, a lot of people may look at this. As a double edged sword Westbrook. Getting the. Delivering the worst of the blow to differ. All right. In your opinion. Then was he justified in reacting the way that he did. Absolutely. And if people know what was the fan was referring to they would agree. How Westbrook reactive, you know? I would agree in in in most cases. Yes. That would be considered extremely offensive. He obviously took offense to it. My my issue, though, is are you leaving that up to then arena? Officials to understand the context if that's what was said and to pull a fan or objective fan who says something like that. And again, I'll use some of the examples that have gotten people into trouble recently the cotton picking comment from the former Oklahoma City announcer, the Lynch mob reference with with Tiger Woods at at a golf tournament. Not that long ago. Are you comfortable with leading arena officials to determine which of those are offensive and because of that which fans should be removed. Yes. I think I think ruptured should educate themselves in that moment. They may not know this. So may some may not know. They do. No. They should definitely be reprimanded the fan. I'm speaking on. And they shouldn't be allowed back in that has been used at all. Yeah. I would agree. If it's something that they can pinpoint definitely there are cell phone cameras around there. More than likely fans who are willing to tattle so to speak. So wouldn't bother me at all if that fan ends up getting singled out cops to it. To me that crosses the line as well. Here's something else that I think is interesting and we've seen this golf tournaments before when I know it's a different type of venue. But when Rory mcilroy or a Jordan speed feel like they're being heckled by fan who has crossed the line and has made it personal. They can actually go to the PGA officials the tournament officials and say I want that fan removed, and in most cases, there are no questions asked that fan is in fact, removed and is asked to leave the premises. So it's a little different in golf because they're right on top of you. But in this kind of situation, I wouldn't be opposed to the player saying to the it's not really the NBA officials. It would be an arena official saying to someone on his staff you've got to get that fan out of here. Because what he said is crossed the line. I mean Westbrook chose to respond himself. But I I don't think that that's should be beyond the scope of what these players are allowed to do ask for a fan to be removed. But. The NBA in a other sports league should should take implement those type of rules and regulations. All right. You know, I do appreciate your phone call. Thank you. I'm sorry. Just hearing myself in the background is disconcerting. But thank you so much for your call. Cole is listening in Atlanta, coal, welcome to after hours CBS sports radio. Hey, Amy, how you doing? I'm ken. Thanks. Thanks for taking my call. And also, thanks for reading my tweet earlier. That was awesome. Boom. Yes, I'm the one anyways. I didn't call and you're you're not alone in saying that I read your tweet. But there are plenty of other people who feel the same way. Well, me personally, I think I think Westbrook is just being a great big crybaby. And he's blowing this thing out of proportion. I did watch the game. I I'm I'm at work right now drive for a living. So, but I think they're they're both at fault. And I don't think there's any way for them to prove that anything was said. Oh, no, no. I don't I disagree with that cold. There are going to be fans around this guy who are more than willing to tell arena officials that they investigate the Utah, Jazz investigate. There will be people around there are more than willing to tattle and to say IRA it. I heard it. I heard it. Well, if that's the case, then that fans should be barred from entering, you know, NBA any NBA event, you know, and she be blacklisted, but you know, respite shouldn't have even interacted with with the fan. The quickest way to de-escalate something. Is to just. Ignore it us in the public eye, and therefore anyone it don't matter. If you're in. I musician a politician. It doesn't matter if you're in the public eye you are subjected to these types of things all the time. And you've just got to learn to ignore them. I don't and you know, there comes a time to wear. Yeah. Something is going to bother you. And. Offend you. But come on man, grow thicker skin. Up to the athlete then to to respond the way that most human beings would not. Yep. Absolutely. Okay. I I think that Westbrook. We'll get a fine. If it were up to me, and I heard him saying that he was going to beat the crap out of a fan. I would find him. And I would suspend them for three games while he's likely not spend it, there's no way the NBA does that especially if they can prove that this fan was saying things that were highly inappropriate. I do appreciate that coal because I think again, a lot of people feel the same way that because you're an athlete you represent the NBA. You should be able to take it so to speak. This is what you have coming to let you go because we're at the top of the hour, but thanks for calling from Atlanta. And thank you so much for your tweets real quick, Dave. And Chris you've got about thirty seconds. So go ahead. I know that you're very concise with your comments. I mean, I've been to many sporting events before. I mean, I have the right to boost somebody, but I would never be disrespectful. And that that is is open for interpretation. So it is very very hard. But long as you're not using vulgar language, and you're not threatening anyone in in any way or being abusive physically verbally than that. I think it's okay. Booing? Yeah, he's a completely different thing. But I will quote Justice Stewart, I may not know the definition. But I know when I see it. And what about when you hear it, exactly? When the fans go over the line. You know when you hear it? I'm not a big fan of the personal attacks. But criticize what they do on the court, criticized what they do on the field, criticized how poorly they're playing or the fact that you don't like them because they're opponent. All You Need To Know About The 2018 Ryder Cup
"All right. Let's transition over to the Gulf side of things here because I want to make sure that we've got some time to talk about the Ryder Cup on the twenty sixteen Ryder Cup at Hazeltine was probably the most invested. I've been in golf in a very, very long time. It was a great event to watch. Obviously, you had Patrick Reed and Rory mcilroy going back and forth. You know, I'm expecting a very high energy environment here over in France with the twenty eight team version at the golf national. This is also the site of the Olympics in twenty and twenty four. So we can do a little bit of handicapping on the course for that as we've got five rookies on team Europe, I believe three rookies on the US team. This is a match play format. Friday, you've got foursomes and fourballs four balls would be the alter. The better ball foursomes would be alternate-shot same thing on Saturday, twelve individual matches on Sunday. So that's how will break down the format here for the Ryder Cup and Ryan. Let's start with a look at the. Course because this is a situation here where the European team has a distinct advantage over the US team. Here angel. So the Europeans majority, of course, very, very well. Handful, the Americans played in that event of, I think on the course side of things, it's narrow. There's a lot of water, but it's match-play so. Just generally speaking. The difference here is there guys that can just don't win because they always say snowman somewhere over four days. They have also or two that shoots themselves out of a tournament. This is, you know, scratch it off, get onto the next hole. So the guys that can be be stars in this kind of format of the aren't necessarily the guys go out and win tournaments.
