"We are going to hear from richard hill. Who interviewed in last week's episode of the coaching diaries. If you aren't familiar with richard get back and have listen to last week's episode. He has taken on bernie griffith as he's photography business coach. He has this incredible support from his wife. He really was at the lowest of lows in regards to building successful photography. Business when things just turned around after hyde bernie and since then he's moved into a brand new studio in town and things are coming together beautifully with amazing photography amazing black and white photography and fantastic siles. So get back and have a listen. If you haven't heard that one and the rest of these updates will make total sense. Otherwise listen to the updates get inspired by what region shares and then get. I can have a listen to last week's episode with him. Here's richard hey come andrew. So this week with bernie was great. You know i came out of a sales background was in sales for most of my adult life. Probably from the time. I was twenty five to about forty five and i was really never a high pressure type of a sales guy and i'm still not but i can be too passive and that was something that we spoke at length about this week and i'll talk with bernie every week which is fantastic and i can text him and i can email and and if i really need to talk to him another time or two. Then that's not a problem either. He's very available. Love that about him. But bernie is a consummate salesman. But he's got a soft cell system. That just fantastic and it's not one that's pushy and but i had a client. The shoot was okay. Could have been better. I really prefer to collaborate with people. When i can in fact that's what i built. The whole business on honestly is collaboration. I don't i really need that. I don't get that all the time. Because i'm doing family. Were but my best work is done in collaboration. So just directing every single movement. That kind of happened in this particular session last week and the children were very young. Did not want to stay in the shooting area. We were all over. The it was it was phenomenal. It was. I think one child was two and a half the other four anyway. It was one of those shoots that at the end of it. You feel like you just left a war zone or something and so we looked at the photos and it looked. There were a number of them that they liked which i was very happy about but they walked out without buying anything. I also made a mistake of letting the dad take a screenshot of the screen with the photos that they had chosen as maybes and that was a big mistake so there were some things that i could have done to make a sale that day or at least leave no stone unturned when the wife there the kids are kind of going crazy there at the session at the selling part of it. I could have asked the dad. Hey why don't you consider taking the kids downstairs letting me and the mother look at these photos and maybe we can make a decision. I could have asked. The mother with the problem was if there was a problem. I'm not very confrontational and that to me is a little more confronting than i like to do. But really it's not confrontational at all to be honest with you but to me at that moment it kind of felt like it so i didn't press her and i'm not a hard sales guy but i think at the end of the day. The photos were good enough. I think that there were a number of them. That were sweet and worked really. Well not my best session ever. But i think that there was a lot of saleable images are so if i would have just asked a few more questions if i would have just not laid down and she said sure. Take a photo of the screen. Sure no problem. You can call me when. You're you know when you'd like to discuss i would you know why didn't i just ask her to make an appointment right then like okay. Why don't we make appointment next week. What's a good time. i didn't do that. So those are those are things that i don't have to deal with most the time. Most of the time we look at the work. it's fantastic. They love it. I love it. We make a deal and the sales done so when it gets to be difficult. I tend to not press it and when i say press to oversell or to be a jerk about it i just mean. Hey what can i do to help move this along. Is there anything. I can do to make this sale happen without being pushy without being forceful can. I adore that. Maybe the customer doesn't see. Those are the things that. I'm not really naturally gifted at at. I did a lot of that in my old job but not so much in this job. And i've been with bernie about a year and definitely it's a better but that was kind of a big topic for us and we probably spent. I don't know probably thirty minutes discussing that. And we did some role playing which is always good because we know when a client runs out of my studio without purchasing something on the day of the shoot. There is a probably about a ninety percent chance that that's the end of it. And i'm not pushy sales things but in the sales aspects or the sales time but i need that sale probably happen right then or it's not going to happen so i'm trying to get back with this person to see if i can reschedule of viewing but more than likely that's not going to happen and that's on me Maybe wouldn't have happened anyway. But i left a lot of questions unanswered a lot of stones unturned..

"You actually plan your Ye in advance and plan what you need to do. It kinda day stresses you towards you know what you need to do next United. How many lades you expect from the campaign, and in our Hamma leads you need to do to have sessile photography business to get the bookings, he wants to do the shirts to sell the word to make the money so ill about planning? And if you can plan your it would stick, so, yeah, it's a pot of the mossy. Your marketing tolls is his second last module. So. Yeah, cool, like, I say when you talk about a twelve month marketing plan is the idea of that to, consistently will constantly have a promotion running, or is it to stay in front of your target client, like what's the idea of running and promotional having a twelve month marketing plan yet? Cool. So one of the mine things, and you've probably heard it before anger is that people need to see your brand at least seven times and. Union take your brand from being invisible indivisible unity me sane, and how you do that is through a lots of strategies between active and passive marketing and most successful photography studios would have anywhere between five to twelve marketing strategies happening at any one given time but on saying that it's not five to twelve a giveaways of five hundred twelve of the sign thing, it's a mate spits, Wayne SEER, and marketing and networking, and telemarketing and third party promotions and family of the mounts and giveaway as referrals, it just a bit inmates to make sure that you're not hitting the sign Jon Rao, every time on the same Todd every time that yo- diversifying your crowd as well. So you'll trying to diversify who you'll hitting but also hitting them or how you're getting in front of them is. Because what you don't want to do, as I let society family. Newborn photographer is. Giveaway for newborn for talk e in March, then giveaway nibble photography in mind, and giveaway for nibbling photography in July old, a sudden, you're just running giveaway, the giveaway off a giveaway. You wanna be at a ton makes it up a bit. So having a good twelve month mocking plan, attracting different genres and a different raisins, and the different active and passive monitoring strategies. He's going to move forward into phenom signed, but different everything was on co. What about the photographer, this listening thinking, will I run different from oceans? But the only time I actually get any traction, any result is when I run a giveaway like what do we do? Then what do you say to them, this sign many other things you can do instead of a giveaway? So when Tom sue giveaway to define giveaway got family, a wanted giveaway. Follow building giveaway family of the month at the moment. It's now. A mother's day. So they a business collaboration, I give lie. I had a photographer so February will evaluate lawns day do a not out at giveaway. So just really a matter of Bain, creative with what they'll give away is not having the same give lie every single time to the same John at signs on. So giveaways around kite, is how you find them. And what you'll giving away doesn't have to be the same thing every time. But it is I give stuff away. Yeah. It is tied to do a major prize in a win this and end to hit a win. It's all in the delivery of information say what you would call that as lot active marketing, and I'll define active marketing is when going out and actively bringing clients into your business. You're collecting the data. So you're doing a landing page has a name and financial amount pre-qualifying questions than from..

"Your clients and easy something better that you too. Okay. Got my scores. You've got you. Now, you should have a wheel should look like a wheel. Because you've connected. Your connected all aligns, and it should look like a circle rock. Join Dr not. And then you join a little now the question is if we were to put you'll wheel on the wheel of car. Which Shari's client experience would that wheelbase smooth ride or will be a little bit bumpy? Now. It would be like a flip flop. I'm heavy on one side of the wheel and pretty empty on the other side of the wheel. Exactly. So now the challenge to you is to Dr back through these podcasts all as little points that I said that every single point, and you should become out with things instantly. I think eighty one per one per category of what is one thing that you do extra to give a better environment to create a better processed to create better photography to to to be out to be understood on the fine mole to mow marketing. The whole idea is to take you two to three take three to full in over time. You expand you'll wheel. So that everything seat says cya seven to ten you'd be pretty happy to have a seven to ten in every aspect. I'd be pretty happy to have a seven attendant every aspect. Yeah. And and and this is what most successful photography businesses that are doing really well in the business die sick. Between two ten will seven to ten in everything. Reneging gas on the Balts. And if we want outline suspend three thousand dollars with us, but we realized that not getting booking letters. And they didn't last minute phone Kohl's who's older Nuys and all you to that top hot athlete, you meant the other one that's part of the experience. Right. Yeah. Evidence is everything affects everything you'll find that. If you do you want to send his bettas than you delivery. We'll get better if you have better photography, actually, if you fix your seasons. I'm workfloor than everything growers because you're being very clear and plants to understand what you do. I like it that's tangible challenge. Thank you, very tangible. You should be able to do if you had a really sit down you do five things in every area and within the weight, you could do lots of small wins just small wins. Just small little things that make a difference. And then you've got some big stuff that you can do like -ma- Martin ten paints stuffing turn-up lurker right on. Okay. So what what are some? Haydn's that people are able to. Do right away. Officially Mark runaways. Oh, you little winds. So you smolder send a text message to your clients the morning of your shirt sign high on really look forward to seeing you at this time at this time these diets in this. Taishin guy by some water and a little snacky chips or not so subtle. What would have kept with allergies, and blah, blah, blah off create a little like little Paxi in give it to them after the two Cy now that would add is beautiful location. I'm United States back relax and enjoy it. I'll see in a couple of weights when we do have design appointment or dads. Excellent. Lots of it's just a matter of going through this Brian and doing lots of understand what the little wins, a alone the way. Sure. That's that's great. I really I appreciate this very much where. This is what you do for a living and you've just given away to us. What I do everything. This is guy. Guy. Pretty much every every single component. Every single thing are mentioned about is all hot about touching. So when people do coaching with may what we do we really date instructor and taught business to stop ways. And we work on the points of that business will give them the greatest results in the shortest amount of tile. And that is what toll the spring class. So a sprint class is want when we work on a specific task with a specific topic, and you wanna get from item based quick as he can with the greatest understanding with the results at the end to back it up. That's a sprint loss in touching with maize about an hour to three hours per topic. And you can say those on the website, and then go one of my favorites is in jurists coaching insurance. Charging way me set up your business for the long haul..
