"Waymo, Cruz's biggest competitor and the self-driving arm of alphabet also recently received a permit from the CPUC to charge for robo taxis, but only if a human safety operator is present during rides. Waymo has been offering a fully autonomous commercial ride hailing service in Chandler, a city southeast of Phoenix since 2020, and recently expanded its driverless program in the city. Quote. I am mentioning this because remember how in early 2021, I got an Oculus because I had a feeling that AR and VR were about to become a big deal in the tech space, and I wanted to get a sense of the current possible, well, that turned out to be very true. AR and VR is big right now, and I'm getting the sense that this year into next, we might start to see these autonomous ride hailing programs get very real. So I'm raising my interest level in the space accordingly. Actually, I'm talking to Argo AI about maybe getting a personalized personal autonomous ride in their Miami test market when I'm down there later this summer. I had recorded for the show. Obviously, fingers crossed, more on that soon. From the you couldn't already do this file, Twitter is apparently working on a feature that allows you to subscribe to and get notifications from search results, quoting the verge. Twitter appears to be working on a feature called search subscribe, which will let users opt to receive notifications for new tweets matching a search query. The feature was first spotted by developer Dylan rossel and appears to put Twitter's bell notification icon next to the search box in its app. Tap the bell and you'll get notifications for new results. Search subscribe is only showing up in the Twitter alpha app for now, so you shouldn't take this as a sign that it's imminent, or even definitely coming. But it's an interesting idea, and yet another attempt from Twitter to make it easier for users to find the stuff they're actually looking for. Right now you can get notifications for individual users or selectively mute or block things by keyword, but you can't opt into specific tweets rather than specific tweeters. As 9 to 5 Google points out the closest analog to this is probably tweet deck which lets you create a column for a search result and get notifications every time it updates. And given tweet Dex looming demise as a native app, it's good to see any of its features, migrating to the loan remaining Twitter clients. In one sense, signing up for what amounts to Twitter's version of Google alerts sounds like a hellscape nightmare of push notifications. Hit that bell on Depp heard or NBA Finals and watch your phone explode with useless notifications. But Twitter's search allows for a lot of advanced filtering such that you could use it to get notifications from a single person, but only their best tweets are the ones you care about the most. Or with some effort you could search for just the tweets that mentioned the NBA or the Celtics or the warriors or basketball in general, from your 6 favorite basketball writers, and only the ones that get more than 50 likes. You can already create and save complex searches like these, but you'll always have to go run the search every time you want to see what's new. Search subscribe could and I emphasize could because it could also be a huge mess. Be a useful way to get exactly the notifications you're looking for, or you could just do what everyone else does with Google alerts and set one up for your name. In that case, given Twitter's propensity for chaos and rage, the fewer notifications, the better end quote. Sort of an everything everywhere all at once, omnibus segment for you. Sources say online insurance marketplace policy genius, laid off around a 170 employees or around 25% of its staff, less than three months after raising a $125 million series E according to a filing Microsoft has cut its Q four sales guidance from 52.4 billion to 53.2 billion. According to a leaked memo, Elon Musk has asked Tesla execs to pause all hiring and cut 10% of Tesla's total workforce. Quoting electric. Earlier this week, we reported on Elon Musk asking all Tesla employees to come back to the office or quit. Many people suspected that this was a wave of layoffs in disguise since Musk had to know a certain percentage of remote workers wouldn't want to come back to the office. Now he apparently confirmed it in an email to Tesla executives obtained by Reuters. Tesla's CEO Elon Musk has a quote super bad feeling about the economy and wants to cut about 10% of jobs at the electric carmaker, he said, in an email to executives seen by Reuters. This would be a significant move for Tesla a company with more than 100,000 employees, which would mean letting go of about 10,000 of them. The email was also reportedly titled, pause all hiring worldwide, Tesla pausing, hiring would slow down its growth as the company had about 5000 open positions around the world at the time Musk sent the email. The CEO had recently made comments about how he believes the U.S. is going to be in a recession for the next 18 months. Musk also said that he believes that, quote, it is a good thing. And that quote, some bankruptcies need to happen. And finally, coinbase has extended its hiring freeze quote for as long as this macro environment requires, and will quote rescind a number of accepted offers updating new hires by email end.

It shouldn't tell us just like didn't care she. She has her head in the big game. The big picture. The little minutia doesn't sorta bother her and that's probably why she's such a big big superstar. What's going on with gwen. Stefani's wedding dress. I hear there's a secret message in it. Oh yes. There is a secret message. You're gonna love this story. "It'll be interesting to see whether Republican Republican base In Florida judges to Santa's any differently because of his kind words for President Biden in the 2020 election. Josh President Trump did better in the Miami Dade area than he did even in 2016 and the state. In total went for him in 2020. When did Florida sort of turn to the right. It's always kind of in my mind in a swing state. Is it still? Yeah, I would characterize it as a Republican leaning swing. State. Republicans have won almost every close election going and going back to President Obama's reelection, which he won Florida in 2012. But ever since then, whether it's the governor's race with Rick Scott, whether it's the Senate race with with Rick Scott as well and Marco Rubio or whether it's the governor's race. With Rhonda Sanchez. Every Republican in these big high profile races has one and a lot of these races have been very close, but they've won almost all the close ones. Um, and then Trump wins by five points. Like I said when, when Biden was winning nationally by by about four points, So Florida has become more Republican. And I think you noted one of the big reasons why Miami Dade County, Southern Florida. Which used to be a pretty, You know, the Cuban American vote looked like it was moving a little more Democratic. The Hispanic vote in Florida seemed to favor Democrats. That's not the case anymore. They've swung a lot more Republican, especially in 2020. Trump made sizable inroads in in those communities that much better than he did in 2016, and same with the Republican congressional candidates that they're doing a lot better. With Hispanic voters. That's a trend that's really damaging Democratic chances to continue to have these close elections, they can have a chance of winning in the state of Florida. Well, let's talk about Democratic chances because Marco Rubio One of Florida's two Republican senators. He's facing an election in 2022 Val Demings, a current Florida congresswoman, and she's also the former police chief of Orlando is challenging him, she said last year on the defund the police issue that The police are the community and the community is the police. We don't have any other choice. We're not talking about two separate groups. I found that interesting given sort of at that time that she made that remark where Many Democrats were on this issue is that the kind of campaign Democrats are just going to pour money into and have big hopes about Yeah, we'll see how much money they pour into the Senate race in Florida. In fact, if they do pour money into Florida it's expensive to run a race in Florida so that you invest in Val. That means it's a good sign for the Democratic Party against Marco Rubio. I think more importantly her she's a former police officer. She she was ahead of the police chief in the city of Orlando. Um she's sort of a test case for how Democrats plan to defend the argument there against the police that some liberals, many liberals. Support defunding the police. She is the counter to that as a high profile Senate candidate in Florida. Now, um if she's successful with with that defensive message, she can make a more pro law enforcement case for the Democratic Party. That's an important signal for them. It's actually a sign that they maybe can get past some of that baggage. But you know, if, if she's not successful, it will show that Republicans Have really hit on a really effective issue for that crime, law and order. And in the end of rising, you know the rising rate of homicides in many cities across the country, Josh let's Let's finally talk about an issue that can sound boring. But in Florida's case, it might be super interesting Redistricting Now the way of the census data that comes out once every 10 years. Um, there's going to be a new effort right to draw the lines of state lawmaker districts but also the congressional districts. And, as you noted earlier, Florida did gain a seat per the last census, and there's a lot of focus. On on drawing up this seat, right? Yeah, I mean, well, So first of all, Florida now has 30 electoral votes. Another electoral vote at the presidential level. Get another house seat. Uh, and Republicans have full control of the line drawing process. And there was a court case in the middle of the decade about five years ago, where Democrats were able to redraw the lines or they get the court redrew the lines. In a more favorable manner. For Democrats. That's not going to be the case anymore. Republicans are probably gonna try to maximize their opportunities in the Florida map. So like, you know, you look at Carlos Jimena is the Republican former mayor of Miami Dade County who want to close House race in a pretty Democratic district last year. He'll probably get a safer seat to run in. Uh, you also have Maria Salazar, another another Republican who defeated a Democrat. Congresswoman work. Rossel Powell. She's in a pretty tough seat as well. She'll probably get shored up as part of that redistricting process is another new seat that's going to be drawn. It's probably going to be a Republican seat so Republicans could gain at least a couple houses on the map and maybe even more depending on how aggressive Republicans are and trying to draw that Florida map. Josh Pastner. Thank you so much for your time. Thanks for having me..

"It gets tipped and deflected, like six inches off of where it was eventually, like, ended up going off that we're deflection in front page. Buffalo's on. Yeah, one of those entities battle on Ovechkin down low. So love on that love on that goal of Mexican celebrating as if you scored it in reality. Like it's just didn't. Like didn't it didn't hit him. I just thought he did, but it didn't hit him. I wonder if he knows if the post-season goals don't count against the overall record. So I think maybe maybe he's just he's doing whatever he can but but yeah, I mean, I don't know how you look at that game. If you watched it and your biggest takeaway isn't the fact that your top six was unable to do anything, the fact that you were passing up, clear chances, I mean there are so many different times where I feel like if you weren't actual fan watching a game of hockey and you just want want to be miserable about your goaltender. Like if you just watch that first minute of overtime, I mean, pasta Nike has a pretty much one-on-one matchup against or laws could have driven right to the net against Craig Anderson and he hesitates holds up and then rips like a low danger shot from the slot that orlov just blocks, easily wage Meant that that is like a prime example. I think of. And then I think, you know, the Bruins would cover the puck after it goes wide. My Shane gets it and he kind of flips it back out into a slot into no man's land. And I think Michael rossel picks it up and take that chance, like that kind of knockout punch. You could have had the side of overtime. And that was what you saw for most of that, especially that Top Line in that matchup and yeah, both of those things where I don't know if you want to take it like a positive perspective, going out of the game and that, you know, the top six did absolutely nothing. And, you know, you still went to overtime. When you had a few bad to walk, ins go go against you and what have you? But you can look at the positives of like Jake debrusk broke through. And I thought that fourth line as a whole look pretty good. As much as I think people are worried about. The Bruins getting inside I feel like that wasn't as much of a problem as people were talking about in terms of like, you know, the Tampa series works..

"Rick tittle is a majestic stallion. Thank you and welcome back to the program. Rich you coast to coast around the world. So as i was watching the as go down stinky fashion. It was closed for a while but the astros ended up. Having a laugher. Eight to one. I look at the scoreboard and i would see how the team's doing i hope they're losing. And i looked up. And i saw that. The giants were beating the mariners. Six to one in seattle kevin gauze fantastic and so just down to the bullpen and the giants by the way hit four home runs in that game and mentioned. Posey austin slater longoria and knock sticker son but the mariners won the game. They're six to one in the eighth and it was a comedy of errors. Unlike something you've seen in a long time stunning it really was and this is why tyler says always get twenty seven outs. You just gotta get twenty seven outs and it was to hit batters this this bullpen. Now two guys were hit brandon bell through a ball on the center field and then at the end of the game You know obviously an extra innings you're going to have someone Second base and The giants had a guy by the name of says who threw three walks and it was game over. You start with a guy second base and then you walk three guys and you lose and i would much rather lose like the as did. Just go up there. Look weak and lame and get beat by a better team and go home with your tail between your legs and sable see you tomorrow then. The giants who got a great performance from their ace hit four home runs and still literally gave the game. The mariners who only had five hits when you have five hits and eight runs. You probably think oh we must have hit a lot of home runs. They didn't hit any homes. So it's it's the all talk about. Look you're going to have games like that during the season but you to start off right away with one. That's that's really something. I gotta say all right the but i'm good to talk baseball. Am i right. People women be shopping too much. Am i right nikki. Glaser wrote that on the wall. Women's be shopping too much right by the way speaking of ex Major league pitchers do you remember tim. One hundred and forty three pitches which is the best pitching performance of the seas so far about that for the uni. Lions that's right He was a fourth round. Pick back in. Oh eight and then. His last team was the long island ducks. Of course which is in the an indie team but he was with the rockies just two years ago and As the say you know former barbecue restaurant employee you know. Kurt warner used to work in his piggly-wiggly or whatever it was back in the day. Sure you know i also not was thinking too as the astros were getting booed and how loud can ten thousand fans boo and maybe you know here and there definitely so like i said the three main guys raya out they got the most and then bregman when they announced kyle tucker mile straw was just like the i guess But you know getting to know some of these players like josh rettig by the way. I guess he's out of baseball. Nobody wants them but some of the more interesting names to make the big leagues one of them as blaze. I tom i found out. He's not tom. But he's i tom k. "Free. Monday is an attempt to turn what is often a very difficult day for people. The third monday january which is can be quite dog time of year into something which is an opportunity to reach out and connect to other people. So what we encourage people to do is to are hold a virtual event in these strange times. We can't obviously meet in person but we still plenty of opportunities to connect people remotely and on our website. You can find lots of information about how. Hold a virtual tea party or other things like that. It doesn't have to be like a serious threat of mental health compensation or is it just sort of the idea of reaching out to people again instead of just having a general chat is absolutely not a conversation around mental health. I mean not may come up at some point. Fueled talking to someone. But it's just about how you doing <hes>. Not every conversation. If you're concerned about something needs to start from a serious perspective it could be a very gentle opening. How all you how you fading today was going on in your life just a just a slow gentle friendly open. Compensation is relaxing for people and it gives them an opportunity to open up if they're ready for it and if they're not then you just carry on and have a lot you normally would absolutely. We've had a few messages from government and various charges. While haven't we about to reaching out to friends i guess. Do you have any sort of top tips on how to do that. And also had to just start conversations. And and i think we'll see this kind of to maybe some confusion about like how much we should be doing it like. Should we be checking on like would offer ends up what we should be doing ready. Yeah we'll everyone's different. Everyone's going to have their own needs on they and they're going to change on a regular basis. Somebody this week might having a good week next week. Might not be having a good week. And i don't think that we should feel pressured into having any compensation the toll of filler responsibility for somebody else. I think it's more a matter. Ruth of just letting people know that you'll there for them and the if they are having a bit of a tough time it's absolutely fine them to pick up the phone to you and the same vice versa. Be good day today but tomorrow might be entirely different so we is about all being their free each other. And i also think we shouldn't put pressure on the conversation itself that we talk about mental health compensations. And i'm what showed us the right phrase. I think is about general well-being mental wellbeing and there's lots of evidence to show the just having a chat to somebody don't need to be going to detail just to chat about how you're feeling could be a weighty postive thing to do because it gives a bit of perspective to the feelings that you might be having in the moment and we know that the more people don't express their feelings the more serious bottled up they could become not convene lead to further problems down the line so we strongly encourage people even if it feels a bit silly talk before it becomes a problem. Basically is what we we likes. Encourage people to to think some of the nicest chats that i've had to develop down have just been lighthearted lighthearted ones with friends that haven't seen in a long time. I'm just reminiscing about the sort of things and having a bit of allow rather than necessarily than told me about serious mental health stuff. Because i think just for me. Just having those connections in those chaps has overseen been good former mental health because it just takes your mind off will stuff going on net and already that. What you said is well about sued. If i guess it's that thing. We subscribe outsourcing out your own <hes>. I if you'll feeding to like you don't have maybe the strength for big long chat like that with a friend in a not feeding. Might you have to reach out if you're not ready to yourself if that makes sense 'cause i think some people have seen that. The app may be the advocate for various things from the government. Though you know. I just don't have the election capacity of reading. Support someone exactly. I don't mean we're going through the most extraordinary time out. We and i think a lot of us who've always felt ourselves to be perfectly k may for the first time ever experienced the feeling is unsettling and that can be quite scary and increasing. Zoology particularly if we don't know quite how to see which would actually is for us. So i think a lot of people would have had that for the first time ever over this last year and opening up as when you need to were hearing it. Reflect back to you by somebody that you you trust. <hes> it's one of the things that works very well about martin's is it. You can phone us up and just offload. If it's like a bad day. If you you you had called you know all the little things that might be heightened the moment because everything feels slightly heightened

"Yeah so but yeah. It's a lots of money. Is going to the connected. But it's going in ways that are indirect. Well it has to be in direct. You can't just say oh and all of my campaign donors get a million each. 'cause they donated ten thousand and it sounds like that's not profitable but it's okay because i'm giving away your money not mine. I don't know that. I have anything in show prep for that particular topic but i haven't paying attention to it vaguely. I know that the trump pansy in charge or the trumpster. The trump monster. He's been pardoning everybody except people who really deserve it. Yeah about a y who. Who else did he pattern. Just the Blackwater people like okay. Well i know that group was there. Anybody else sir. let's find out. Are you using a very small definition of everybody. What i'm really trying to get at is. He's not pardoning over rossel brick for example. "In point that one job seventeen points from the kickoff until the third quarter, which is an amazing number. Will you just think about the line movement? Yeah and then they blew him out, I couldn't believe it. Syracuse. Let me down I like I said, I hit that Tulane Lane win and the South Alabama points I hit the game now let's. Let's talk about what did you think of the Florida state debacle up ten thing you've got this guy nor valid halftime keeping his players on the field and doing some pathetic raw raw speech in front of the cameras he knew he was on camera that drone flying overhead. I thought that was so cheesy and then they went to the locker and what they do play chess. I don't understand what happened to that for in the second half I. Mean You talk about Fetig? They're back to their losing ways. Again, how do you lead ten nothing in your opener with a new coach in Valencia you're winning it doe. Campbell, and then you laid that egg. Yeah. You know that's been the Mo for Florida state. Now, four straight opening season losses I mean since nineteen seventy six, I believe is the first time that it happened but bobby bounce first year. But just to give you an idea, this team can run the football still one, hundred, nine rushing yards against Georgia tech offense align line is still a concern there. Were working progress from an offensive scheme perspective. They're not gonNA blow people out and I'll tell you this. If they drop another game along the way, expect his team to quit much the way they did a couple years ago. Those defensive players in stores Sean Day Samuel More than Wilson they're gonNA, start to just keep in the way they did against. A couple years ago, and and that's the problem. The culture is not where it was even at the end of where Jimbo Fisher was and that's where my more leads to turn it around. They got the on both sides of the ball interior. Defense Lines until they fixed that this is possibly another five, hundred, eighteen for twenty twenty. So. This week. There's games like I. Don't know if you saw that Campbell Georgia southern that anybody cares. But they they lost by one to him and getting all kinds of points and then they play this week against Coastal Carolina team that beat Kansas. How embarrassing is that for? I know they beat them I think they destroyed him last year do but how embarrassing is that for less miles? He's making all that money at Kansas I know Lawrence isn't exactly a football paradise, but is it not embarrassing to lose to them back to back years? It is just an unfortunate. You know luck of the draw in terms of the the talent Carter Stanley is starting quarterback graduated. You know defensively where they were a couple of years ago they were a lot stronger from a decentralized perspective than where they were last year in your number one from less miles. So as they play these better teams in the big twelve speed type of teams, they don't have the offense to match them score for scores. So they're gonNA have to grind out wins. Could it be very difficult and I agree with you and you have a team in Coastal Carolina that comes to your house your favor. By seven points you lost in this team last your twelve to seven and got embarrassed you're supposed to win that game somehow somewhere you're not supposed to get blown out and you know less miles needs to turn it around. I agree with you. But again, who's going to take that job now after less miles in turn it around Walkman Gino is not waiting in the wings anywhere for just you know get them back on track like they were in the mid two thousand. So I think smiles is the right guy but he has to step up and now this team needs to progress especially on on the defensive side of the ball. So Notre Dame plays USF and. You know I was less than impressed with Notre Dame against Duke I was more impressed with cutlass and do the way they played the whole game they came out of the gates tough. They finished off they gave it everything they had, and they look at both of these teams like. First of all Notre Dame plays US after laying twenty six and then Duke. Plays You know they're laying foreign in that game against BC in Durham tell me what you think of those. First of all, tell me what he thought of Notre Dame's performance and then how do you think they'll rebound against us and then what did you think of? Duke. And how do you think they'll do against specie? Yes. So I thought Notre Dame is what I expected. I br I told I started on college football. Could I like Duke from the first half perspective because the way they played against Alabama and the fact that Notre Dame was without their top three leading wide receivers and that would her in book as he got acclimated with the quarterback wadden sea where relationship in the second half they got going were able to run the football I expect owner dame though to start passed against. South Florida. So south, Florida is a good. Team they're not an elite defense they're small they give up a lot of yards that heavy out that's a launch should dominate them. Just Scott is fantastic coach, the former clemson offense coordinator, but they are they do not have the horses to keep up with Notre Dame I, expect. Notre. Dame to blow them out and I like Notre Dame from a first-half perspective to get it done. They started slow against. Duke, look for them to pick it up against. South Florida. They should be more in rhythm in the first half. Boston College Boston. College is where my better bet scotty the way I look at it as I like the way do play it and chase rice stuffed up but I take out going down from a defensive perspective from the Heavier Offense Alon. Notre. Dame in the second half now they face a fresher team in Boston. College. playmakers, they don't have a solid quarterback Rossel's more of a game manager. They're going to utilize heavy offense align to wear them down I. Think Boston Colleges Alive Dog here they're catching six and a half they haven't played yet. That's not in their favor but I think the fact that do plead Notre Dame I..

Florida Duke Notre football South Florida Boston College Boston Syracuse South Alabama Kansas Jimbo Fisher Boston Coastal Carolina Carter Stanley Campbell Georgia Campbell Rossel Fetig Valencia
