"We present from the nhl nhl players tour south jones of the chicago blackhawks. Thirty two thoughts department. We're pleased to be joined by south jones of the chicago blackhawks and While we have a lot of talk about There's been a really really busy an interesting off season for you for a number of reasons Bullets start with the chicago blackhawks. And why you think this will be the right fit for you. I think they know how to win. Here i wanna go to organization. That's done it before and we still have some good pieces you know. He brought an flurry we brought in johnson was. There's a great piece for us in a self kane and taes and debrincat is still young and upcoming and He's still young guys. You know kirby dock and a lot of these guys still. We still need to develop myself included. But i think it puts us in a good spot. You've played against chicago a lot in your career. What were they like to play against. Charter was always tough to play against Especially kane and debrincat it was you know canaan perrin and then it was an apparent came to columbus and then cannon debrincat and in you know that duo itself even the last couple of years seemed to be just so hard to handle so hard to deal with and I think it'd be that in the bubble and that plan round so you know it tastes coming back. It should be pretty exciting for us on the back and we got mccabe too so i think are the decorum be good as share. Let's go back to the end of last season. Where did you think you were Like we're talking about last game. Yeah like like the the game ends. And i'm not sure I hadn't even made up my mind then to be honest of what i want to do. I was just still focus on. Just you know. It's kind of a bad year for for everyone there in columbus and we didn't get much accomplished as a team organization and took me two three weeks after the year to really reflect on what i wanted to do for the rest of my career so around after the season. I had no no idea okay. Let's in the news gets out that you know you're going to test the market. Did you think you'd be signing somewhere for a long time or did you think it was going to be a one year thing somewhere and then figure it out it depended there are a few teams involved in that process. There are teams. That would've been a one year thing. And i knew that They made that trade. Everyone knew one thing. And if you know. I went to other teams. That would have been a extension thing right away So what the teams with the extension. The numbers were obviously talked about before. What the ballpark range would be if the trade did happen and chicago all right. You know. I'm not gonna let this go. What were the one year teams. I'm dying dying to know. Does it rhyme with colorado in the region Because the thing is. I'm except one of the things i've always been really interested in you about. You're not only your career but is someone who comes from a family that understands pro sports. You probably more than a lot of other guys have understood your worth and how the business works. And you've never been afraid like to say i understand how the business works and i'm gonna use it to. My advantage is much as i can. So i was really curious what was important to you at end this process. Was it a one year thing. Was it a long term thing i was okay with either one to be honest and At the end of the day it just didn't work The summer for that. You know. I've talked to many people this summer about my situation and going back and forth and a lot of things and i think but at the end of the day of my heart i wanted to be somewhere that i was going to be the rest of my career. You know not go to a team and then go another team after so you never know what happens in that one year timespan especially Not a lot of security there things like that so but i do think that that one team it could have been the one year. I think that they've got a great chance to win it. So no more family split loyalties with nhl teams in. The family is chicago blackhawks. Fan right now. Are you more excited to play with. Caleb or is he more excited to play with you I think it's i think it's a mutual We haven't even played against each other. Believe it or not the past four years. I've been hurt or he was sent to bakersfield. Something hammered every realized that. Oh we never have. I think it's been like seven or eight opportunities and always missed. Hey always missed it somehow. Oh yeah But now we're playing with each other so it's pretty interesting. I'm gonna try to push them as much as they can. Of course but i'm excited form. I'm excited he's gonna get opportunity and i'm really happy for him. I gotta think at the very least of the puckett's dumped in kilo pass to go back and get. Yeah you take the hit. I'll get the puck. Skated up to take five. That's i'll take one just. Because i think jeff was actually the first person who brought up the possibility of if duncan keith was traded to edmonton. Caleb could be in the deal. How much before. It actually did happen. Did you guys kind of realize that this could happen. We had no idea We were sitting at home Then he got a call and now it's but i think it was in the works with you. Know my agent was. I was working with them at our agent was and they were trying to make something happen but we had no idea. Had duncan keith or chicago so calebs there and now you get treated. What's that moment like for your family when you realize you're all going to be together crazy. Actually we were at dinner. in dallas. We're out to dinner. Then i got my phone starts blowing up because got people from chicago calling me. And so we're all sitting there and the next day we were flying here Then we went to do the first pitch wrigley Did the river interviews and all that fun stuff toward this facility here So it happened quick and then we flew out the next day but it was. My mom loved it. I mean she doesn't have to watch two games anymore on different time zones and travel to different places so she's got everything she needs here so i'm curious. How many pending free agent defenseman have texted you to say thank you. And where do i send the christmas zero. Where the market's moving right now. Right essentially we had We spoke to darnall nurse on monday. And we were talking about the nature of his deal and then he very riley just said yeah you know what but about halfway into the negotiations. Things just changed and the defenseman mark and this was led by. You changed like profoundly the summer. I hadn't talked to darnall about that. But i'm sure Renske sure Oh yes dougie hamilton. Hamilton maccarthy signed that. Nice one. but i mean everyone's in a different stage in their career to sign a six year. You know same with the renske. I'm sure you know maybe you went eight. Who knows but you know. I guess it's smart and you're sure you know nate mckinnon's up in a year so you're gonna see these numbers going even higher for special hart trophy art. Ross guys like that but it goes back to what i was saying before though again this is. I think you've always understood the business. And someone's once said to me about you is that it would be meaningful to you if you knew that you move the bar opt for other people and it's a cab system so there's only a bite you did move the needle for other defensemen. I remember years ago. Someone told me that you would like that to be part of your legacy that you allowed some people to make more money. Yeah i mean. I think we put our heart and soul into this game. You know. it's a year round game else. Players play now you take maybe three b. software to the season and then you're training skating again. It's everything i do in. My life is for hockey. Another cow system. It's obviously the numbers. Get crunched a bit and that's what it costs us supposed to do But you know..

I took the relate It was late for me but really late for some of the live viewers. When on saturday night. I was pretty tired and Impasse was a little wonky for me. I tried to power through an entire bengals game. And and see what i could see from from my vantage point as i relate some things and then the dust a couple of days later. I think i had some different takeaways. Different vantage points of some things but Let's talk about your thoughts your opinions of what we saw in week. One against the tampa. Bay buccaneers is the bengals winning. They're down south in beat the super bowl champs as far as we one of Of preseason it was pretty damn solid. I think For not having the starting quarterback out there for having the starting offense and defense for a combined. I guess two drives one drive each and believe the first team. Only a handful of plays out there on offense. So having quarterbacks brandon allen for one half and then college shurmur for another half still being able to put up nineteen points against a defense that was top of the league last year and i know that most defensive play for most of the game. But you know it's still the buccaneers and it's still wanna be best rosters in the nfl. So presumably the depth of set roster is pretty solid and they just play with them for the entirety of the game. It was weird at times. Seeing some calls kinda go the other way in favor of the bengals instead of the home team defending super bowl champions at times. But i think some of that kind of made impacted house the drives ended up and gave the bengals a couple extra points on there. But that's kind of how that goes you know. Sometimes the pendulum swings swings the other way and referee in the preseason preseason is always questionable. They're always experimenting with some of the calls and whatnot. That was i guess. Sort of a minor kind of Topic like during the game that we were thinking about but man like some of these players that kind of stepped up that we didn't really talk about going into the game. We're really for much of the off season. A really surprising for how well some of these guys played. And that's really what i think. We missed about the preseason last year. You know we hadn't watched one of these games since twenty thousand. The last preseason game bengals fans saw it featured jigdalek allah throwing for three hundred yards against the coal ride and was like There's like some receivers willis out there. There was another receiver. Whose name escapes me. That is you know. That's like the traditional preseason high some of these younger guys bottom the ross guys fighting for their futures their livelihood. The nfl and they're making plays against other backups. And that is kind of what we lost last year when there wasn't a preseason but the some of these rookies these unheralded stories for these guys that again. We haven't really discussed their talks about that much because either they weren't doing that much training camp and the practices or they just kind of flew under the radar but they're not under the radar anymore. They are very much hearsay and they were some of the biggest topics on on saturday. There were so when. I looked at the stats. I saw some plays in. You know when i was watching the game i kinda was like. Yeah i mean there's a couple of big nice run. Some of them came very late There are know other times they were having a little trouble getting pushed but as you started to kind of dive a little further into things the offensive line play was a little bit better than than i think expected and better than maybe at least for me when i looked at it watching the game live I feel like now looking at some of the. Pf scores going back and seeing some things there was some good things on tape from Some young guys guys that have a lot to prove on that offensive line..

"But i don't know i mean taskmasters just the biggest thing is like why. Why none of that made sense. I feel like there is one more thing that we need to kinda circle back to because we did jump over it rather quickly as far as cameos. Now there weren't a whole lot but there was one character in particular that i was a little surprised to see again secretary. Ross and i feel like you called this one general. Ross general ross. One say secretary well as a secretary. I don't know what he is. Generally sometime i feel like he was in holck. Ross the military ross guy. Who's in charge of everything so i have. We haven't watched many theory videos or anything about this yet. And i don't think you've seen this one. I didn't show it to you. He looks sick doesn't he. He doesn't look well. I just thought it was because he was old. He looks very skinny and like not well. And so there is a line in the comics. Where he becomes chronically ill or Terminally ill i believe. And he takes the super serum and becomes thunderbolt. Ross the leader of the thunderbolts. So we talked about the thunderbolt extensively after captain captain america in the winter soldier falcon and the winter soldier. I almost feel like they're still. That almost makes me think they're still heading that direction. Well are we ready to talk about the end credit scene yet or do you wanna hold off. Because i feel like that leads into that theory about red guardian. I okay david harbour. I know you don't watch stranger things. But he's amazing and both of them. He's maybe my favorite actor like hold your horses. That might be a bit much so good. He's so funny he was quite funny. I am honestly surprised at the very beginning of the movie when he was running to catch up with the plane. After everything that we've seen with all of these super soldiers how that thought never crossed into my mind. Did you know that that is where it was going. No okay so it wasn't just me know. Whenever they said that he was russia's super soldier now. That was the first time i learned of it. I didn't catch any hint of that beforehand again. We're not comic reader. So that's why that's true. I just felt like as soon as they said that i was like. Oh my gosh. Why didn't that like smack me in the face. He ran and caught up with the airplane road on the wing. I just thought he was kind of dad does that. He was just a very devoted to head well and but then he handed over his girls. That devoted was a red flag. That was a red flag overall. I think he definitely provided a lot of comic relief. I liked interactions where he was still trying to be like father figure that it was almost i mean it was painful and awkward that he still kind of redeemed himself at the same time like he was really trying well. I think it was very interesting. Where both him and molina had you know. They devoted their life to the red room into in all these causes that they believed in. And you know honestly it was yuliana and that sharing how much they actually like screwed up their lives that they thought that all their family stuff was real and it was. They actually felt love for them. It was that that made them actually realize what they had done. I think more. So molina. I feel like i mean alexi definitely got.

He said hundred percent time. You said this guy sistan. He says one hundred percent of wow. That's incredible yet. But i can see how it happened because of the catheter had This way he said if the septum were intact. Couldn't you stick a needle through the catholic and Ross guy i don't know i guess so. And he said to me gene about that i said. Actually it sounds interesting. Because we don't at that time had a good way of getting into the left Losing wedge pressures and of course. We did rhetoric casts but at that time. Now we're talking fifty nine. I think you needed a surgical cut down to do a retro out the bed in order to get a catha retrograde into voter lifted. That was a big deal so we didn't have a good way of getting into french. So i said my job is you should take some time off. "I'm sorry, bro. The jokes get old. I know want to talk to Connor. I mean when you mentioned Conor McGregor, we always got a mention Nate Diaz. So my question to you all is who fights first name? Conor McGregor in the Octagon. Yeah, just a fight. I mean we know they're they're probably I mean that my opinion on the whole thing is I think the UFC wants a Gate Bridge of Nate and Connor Israel. Adesanya Jones, maybe the Cowboys Stadium whatever it may be but what a cow fight what if Condit winds like in a glorious fashion and his first fight off Nate Diaz, his first fight would be his last loss. Oh Nick, that'd be awesome. Right? Yeah, Nick. Yeah, they can rematch that fight too. But Nick Diaz has been slated to come down the last seven years. Yeah. Yeah, but you know what? I want to see Nick get ko'd so I don't have to hear anybody call him fucking Nate anymore, Thursday. I mean for Carter, I've made him boxing. I mean, we we called what it is. It's a paycheck people are going to buy it. I mean, it's like a it's a it's a be a big fat payday won't be as big as Mayweather versus McGregor and made a that's what it is. I mean light will be the best boxing since February, which was Tyson Fury. Yeah what I mean, so I mean he McGregor's after payday, and then for him to come back and it's going to be somebody I mean, I don't see what's so attractive about the Dustin Poirier fight. I mean I don't know if they forget, you're back in. I mean you Connors now on that level where you know, he no belt necessary for him anymore. And like you have to be like a hardcore fights need to either the support. Yeah, I want that but for the Casual friend want to see Connor fight, I guess for anything that given back in the in the in the Octagon but I think there's like more enticing. DS is it kind of sell more tickets but the courtier one unless they're going to unless there's some sort of title application to that I guess but Connor seems like way past month titled. Yeah. I'm with you right there man. I don't think Connor should be even have a thought of wanting to fight for a title Connor should I can keep his dick in his parents. There's also that yeah. I mean meme I made it was like, you know, why is it that everytime Connor gets sexually assault That he comes out of retirement changed my mind. What is the pay for the court for you? That's why exactly isn't it for which he needs to pay off the girl that does that does not using here does that not show some admission of guilt on his behalf? Like why is that is that not coincidence when you do so something so many times when does it stop becoming coincident. Yeah, he's either trying to distract them the news or get get the the lawyers paid. But yeah, I just don't see him for you and making sense. Which Porsche is like so close to the title again. I don't know why you take a bigger price. I'm just hoping that one of these sexual assault charges sticks. So I don't have to hear people call him Connor the rapist anymore or Connie McRae pissed as far as Dustin Poirier goes off Dana White's pissed at him and hates him. So I don't even think that the McGregor fight happened. So I'll be happy with Paul Felder and Dustin Poirier cuz I think Dana White hates Dustin Poirier dog. not watch Deadpool one and two he was awesome that Dana's mad at Dustin Poirier claimed he doesn't want to fight. He never signed this and never signed that so given Paul Felder and I'll be cool with that. He could be a headliner for a fight night right there, Joe speaking of Dana Hayden Paul daily speaking speaking of Dana hating Danny Kate on khabib not being a coach or a long side of McGregor on tough. Yeah, but I mean Dana why I'd set it in the chat brass made everybody seen it. We still know that Dana and Conor McGregor the biggest stars in the UFC. Everybody else just kind of has to suck. Yeah, so just go straight. We do not got Dana White so I don't have to hear anybody called Dana fucking Donny white anymore. It's fucking shit bar. I thought well we are. And of our time fellas yet any other fight news or any quick hits that that you got David or Alex? Yeah, I do Colbie K10 versus Jorge Meza. December 12th, right? Yeah, that's the early enough. It's not official yet. But as long as it's going to happen as good as Colby looked and as much shit as Maserati, I'll talk going into huisman. I don't care if it was a week out. That's a fight. That's a fight. That matters doesn't matter about the BMF belt Colby Covington 8 or 11 that do brings it man. You know, he's going to bring it against Jorge and that's a fight. Like I said, they're both Trump supporters. See Trump Biden. Yeah, there's no there. There's no beef there cuz Mazda dolls supporting Trump. So the whole magazine is not going to work for Colby Covington. So it's an interesting. That's true. Yeah, that's a good point about how is he going to bring all that maggot crap? Yeah when I was going to be like well I'm with you doing you shake hands wage. Put on a show and it's got to be after well, I was like Mazda knockout Colby Covington, so I don't have a jacket or did you see col Jack Peter black dude, like what? He's not at cheese routine. "On this season and how this was a textbook cubs lost. Both today and yesterday, and it all stems from lack of opposite way hitting lack of small ball, and that's when they had their greatest success Is it season is when they actually hit the opposite way. Not just gone up there trying to pull everything, especially when you get into the postseason. You know it's going to be low scoring. Runs in each game. That's what you have to do. You have to manufacture somehow. Didn't result trying go opposite way, but he lined it out late in the game. He tried to Yeah, but that's what you know. It's one and Rizzo is usually the one guy that's always trying to kind of get on base matter What, So I appreciate the phone call Mike. You do make a good point. It seems as if the's guy this team is loaded with guys with the three outcomes. Yeah. Usually you get the one outcome out of the group. And it's a strikeout, and that's it. There's no walking right there is no the homerun stay. They have gone away. They dissipate, right. But you get the strikeouts, especially from Javier Baez, especially from Kris Bryant. Well, it doesn't help that you were facing a guy in Sixto sent it in six toe who was throwing, you know, 95 plus and a stat that they gave during the broadcast was The Cubs have the worst batting average in baseball on pitches of 95 miles or higher in Sixto Sanchez came out and was thrown absolute heat hitting 100 certain points and when he's just blown by guys, and they were calling on the broadcast to saying, what are you doing? Just throw 100 Miles an hour down the middle and Javi Hayward. But all these guys, they're not going to be able to hit it. Just throw it down the middle and you'll strike these guys out. You don't need to be as long as you're hitting the strike zone. And you're throwing it that fast. They have the worst average in baseball. That's the recipe, and that's exactly what happened. I enjoyed watching the pitching duel between Sanchez and Darvish. Yeah, it was a good pitching matchup. Jerry Maquina, You're on ESPN 1000. What's up, Jerry? Hey, I'm gonna talk about both sides of town Right now. I really believe that White Sox had a manager who is out of his element. And totally, I'll take himself and then when you look at the Cubs He's just another player, and he really has been the managing he did was like he was a rookie like Iwas, not really knowing a lot what to do. In situations. Coach said plenty out for two days and we're not moving runners along. We're not playing for runs in a tight game, especially today. Playing for the beginning. I really don't understand the reasoning behind you all the Cubs manager and I'll be surprised. Leinsdorf doesn't give Renteria's Doug Because he's never taken Promised land. He's a He's a horrible manager, Jerry. Thank you for thank you. Berry makes a good point, because I think we've got two teams going in opposite directions. As Faras managers goes, I would be surprised if Ricky Renteria is managing this team next season. But we all know David Ross is coming back. Like David Ross is going to hopefully learn from this. I think he was too emotional and managed with his heart rather than his head in certain points, especially two days ago with leaving Kyle Hendricks in too long, I I think that you and I were both questioning when you were bringing in Jefferson, the first game and then bringing in Jefferson Kimora Kimbrel first, then Jeffers second In the second game today. Here's where I didn't get the logic with Hendrix on in Game one. You put Jefferson and you kind of like botched that inning, and that's in the seventh, where the Marlins score five runs and they leave the seventh inning in Game one. With a score 55 to 1. And then today you are in a situation where you're in the seventh again. And this is it. You're up against elimination. You take Darvish out after 94 pitches and the scores to nothing Marlins you bring Kimberlin with with men on base, but it's like this situation is Wait. If things were dire in game one you would to Jeffers. But today you're going Kimbrel like what was I don't understand. Maybe he learned from his mistakes. I don't know, because I don't get it. Well, I think that it's more of Ah, thing to like We saw top step David Ross chewing the gum hard chomping on the gum. And I feel like he needs to be more of a guy. Especially if guys like Lester on around Schwarber might not be around. You know, Bryant bias? Who knows Who these guys if he says he needs to be the hard, eh? David Ross, Right. You have to be that guy. You can't be these guys friends and I was concerned with it going into this season when they brought him in his manager. And I think that that's what he was. I think he was too soft on these guys. We also notice that if you were following along on Statcast Yu Darvish, the three batters Make contact before Gary Cooper made contact with the home run. Ah! They all were. Creating some pretty good exit philosophy. Wallet had Ah 100 exit below a Dickerson 87 lame pop out from birdie. That was 78. But the most part he was starting to get hit was full at the right time. Like Yes, right. But like it was all so you could see it coming. You could see that the contract was starting to get made because even go back to RoHaas and Joyce. RoHaas and Joyce Ross guys single. That was an exit below 105. And right before that. That was Joyce, who lined out at 104 so like they were making solid contact against Yu Darvish later in the game. And the two are the two runs were counted towards him. You know, he gave up 22 on runs, and I think that you know if Look, you give up two runs with names in this lineup. You would think That You'd be able to overcome that. But as we've seen the past four years since they won the World Series that that's not the case, all right, we have a ton of phone call is talking Cubs baseball with you here on the baseball show. Baseball.

"And that was the thing that is going to look like this. But the reality is that was a five yard or eight yard play or whatever it was. I can't remember now, but we're talking about the food or missed tackles, right? Sounds like it's going. It's going to make this as average depth of target, or whatever was his average per catch. Look insane When the reality is it was just a lot of bad events did have a really productive year. Overall, I was nobody was a bigger fans Don't know Phantom me. You know we had him on the program when, when that blowtorch Radio Bozo's over there. We're calling him soft or whatever they were saying. I don't remember their said some stupid We had him on to just laugh at him. So Yeah, he was He was, Ah, He's expectation for no offense. I don't really know what to respond in some of those things, but, yeah, the expectations for no offense are high. So there you go, Go routes. Expect to see a lot more. I think no matter what would come out away from this article. Is you expecting to see a lot more gold routes this year, one way or the other, Whether it's KJ Hamill running those or whether it's Jerry Judy. I actually like both of these guys in opportunities to Get a step on there. Whoever's covering them. Cornerback Post them on the go round. I just don't think that that's a bread and butter. I think the bread, but I think what what these people are doing Whoever this article is ESPN. Yeah, I think that they're too They're getting a false positive. I think you're taking certain statistics and applying a conclusion that's not supporting evidence. Just because of those kind of things. I think the routes they are best prepared for, based on their skills said just because they happen to have certain statistical production on those routes. Doesn't necessarily mean that's what they're married to do it. I think that Jerry is gonna be an excellent slant and pivot runner just because of his footwork is foot flurry and his ability to change direction. I think handler because his wheels is going to be great, deep or leased a serviceable good, you guys we'll see. But though, that I think they're judging the numbers, take the numbers from college and trying to extrapolate that the prose is dangerous. That's how you get The's analytics, guys that try to tell you that Shea Patterson, who got cut today or Ah will Greer. We're going to be great NFL quarterbacks. Shea Patterson, We hardly knew you. Out there in Kansas City didn't make it to camp and even I think you actually called that you like. I don't know if he's going to make it to camp. I was joking when I said Oh, boy, Patrick Room's got some competition now. And then people are like, shut up. That's so many people were telling him off the top 15 quarterbacks for the draft and didn't put him on there. You don't shape our cities of best one. I was his family. Well, I mean, his dad did actually cuss me out on Twitter. But whatever this from mud, Jarod has anybody mentioned that Judy got a ranking and madness, 75 was happy and lumber will be with him awaits. Well, until his rating goes up. Of course, right. Well, yeah, you had was that he had a 75 rating. Yeah, they put. I believe that Put my get the ratings were all these receivers. They put handler. I think 94 5 speed. I think Itwas and Judy's not bad is over 90 on speed. Yeah, I got it. Right here. Jerry Judy, 75 Overall 91 Speed. 93 acceleration. 93 agility. Hammer was a 70 but faster speed story, Same agility. So I imagine J. J You have great round running the you know, numbers and stuff to, of course, absolutely. Have you given a chance to play with them on Madden yet? Have you play the new? Yeah, okay. And it's fun. Is it? This offense. This office for Madden seems like it would be orange blur. It's back. It'll be kind of cash tagged one from Blur, baby and your big John Ross guy. So you on Madden, you are. Well, I mean, yeah. If you get 98 speed is, you know Jared likes your diet rugby. Good stuff. No. Yeah. Sorry. Anytime somebody gets on soccer, I tend to get like that. This one from craze. Hope you're right about bulls and hope he gets better with the more mobile lock. Well, of course, we're all hoping more anybody. John Elway's hoping He's right about bowls. Yes, They did not add anything as it results or relates to any kind of competition other than what was currently on the roster. A large Wilkinson so it's either will consider bowls but that's the option unless they're going to make a trade or trying to bring in the street free agent just goes right back to our best bet.

"We will talk with Jesse Rogers at one o'clock here to give us a little bit of an update about what exactly, he's talking about the apparently he has told the media. That's a lot of the Cubs players have come to him, and they're not very happy right now. But the testing process in the lack Of Ah, availability, I guess or specifically, maybe the the lag time that it's taking for some players to get their test results back so we'll hear from. I'm sure we're going to hear from Dave Ross's guys Jesse. It's not a perfect process, and I guess it's going to pour disguise. Maybe to have to wait a little bit longer than that. Usually be willing. The weight on this is so and again. This is because we're just you know, everyone was reporting back for the most part on July 3rd teams were kind of opening up their camps. We're kind of going day by day right now, as we get more and more information is and will be attempts to handle this, But somebody who's not struggling is Bryson de Sambo, York He eyes playing well went out on one yesterday and you heard of the The covert 19 will he put on the covert £20 of muscle and as a I'm a very casual golf observer. I'm certainly a major. I check in, you know, during majors for the most part outside of that I kind of followed. Who's winning? Tournaments as they happen, But other than that, I'm not a big golfer. So, but I have to admit I've been captivated bright by the amount of love that Bryson has received in the sheer sides for the yes for the basically the transformation that he made while he was on lock down, So give me a little bit of Ah Thumbnail. What exactly Bryson De Shambo is doing where he's kind of revolutionizing golf. I mean, let's not everything that you take matters unless you're actually working out. So he actually put the work? Yes. So there's no gray area there. You could take steroids. You don't go to the weight room. Nothing happens. You just take steroids? Yes, all so he actually did work And I guess he's on this five protein shakes a day. Type situation to help supplement whatever he's got going on, and You know, you still have to maintain flexibility. You shouldn't have to be limber to be able to play golf, so he's been able to put that Muslim and still stay somewhat limber and with his unique swing and his unique style and is unique Thoughts about the game of golf. I think he's taken it intellectually deeper. You know, A lot of golfers have since the great Ben Hogan. He's come out he's been ableto Put distance on his game more distance than he already add. His short game has always been the struggles in his golf game as faras within 100 yards because you hit the ball so long, you've got to be able to dial it down. You've got to be able to play with a little bit of touch. And that's the most difficult aspect of his game now because he drives the Paul so well in theory, all par fives to him apart for share. So huge advantage. He Khun B minus 16 every single week just by birdieing all the part fun, and I believe American you can away. There's 639 yard, par five. He's still getting on and 139 yards. Barbara. That's that. Simplicity there. You're that broke down perfectly for me. So your car mark, we bring you and we're going to some training here in a minute. But would you agree with your assessment that I saw? What is it for? Four top 10 finishes in Rover. Bryson? Is that right? He right. Since the we've come back from the pandemic, he is there. He is the lowest under par. He's he's been basically Every week has been in contention going into Sunday, and I think he's doing it the right way. I mean, he was determined and I heard interview on Golden Wings last week with Tony Fino. And he said that Bryson de Shambo told him at the Ryder Cup in 2000 Presidents Cup in 2019. They were partners they were for around and he said that this was his plan. He was going to put on 20 or 30 maybe a little more. Pounds of muscle and he was going to change his game is guys really smart guy? Okay, He's not just, you know, reading some. I mean, he's he studied is all and he knows what he's doing. It was also funny 20 now said that Most PJ players when they get on the range. Don't really acknowledge anyone else to say hi and just go on doing their shots. And he says when Bryson de Shambo starts driving the ball, everyone kind of stops and just sits there and watches them for a couple minutes. That's how impressive he has been. Driving the ball, but he's averaging with 3 48 off the tee right now. It's just insane. He's one of the leader the favors, not for the master. So that's what I was going to ask his 26 years old. Has he finally unlocked it is he Like like how many more in a row Top 10 finishes until you start to say you know what he is holding in, and it is potentially the best golfer. His dilemma comes when they get to a tighter golf course tricked the golf course It's got the rough. That's where his dilemma start to come in. So he may be in one of these guys to be able to win a lot of golf. Okay, But when they get to the difficult if they make the PGA Championship wide open, like they did it, Aaron Hills that one year then not is difficult but US open courses where they tighten everything on And they put the rough. They grow the rough out a little bit. That might be more of a difficult aspect for him at the Masters down in Augusta. Well, there's only so much length, they can't lengthen that course anymore, So whatever is that where it's at, but he'll have an advantage on one and being able to get the ball over that right bunker. And still keep it on the right side of the fairway, where you've got a straight approach into that very undulating green on too, But he's gonna have to be able to move the ball. Little bit rightto left onto that's apart. Ah, part five. Treatable eight is a par five. Coming up the hill that some guys can reach into other guys can't he'd have an advantage on that part five. I'm trying to think of the other lengthy par force..

How it's going to come. Why it's going to come. It comes because it's built in. It's scientifically proven to work better than the markets for lifetime income and then depending on the stock market. Important, Absolutely, And that's why you need to call 806 61 73 83 806 61 73 83 get that indie 1000 set up. You can also text coach to 21,000 That's coach to 21,000. Yes, so we talk about when we talk about putting together a proper plan. There's three main parts. Designing it. Building it. And protecting it. Now designing is just understanding, quality and qualify and quantify and clarify your wife and your financial and retirement goals because everybody's different, Chuck. So if we're if we are sort of like when you go to some of these neighborhoods and every third house looks like the the house before. That's right. Yeah, those air cookie cutters, right cookie cutter. And why do they call him cookie cutters? Well, if you've ever used to love doing this, we're at Christmas time. Mom would make a lot of Ah, better. Ondo Sugar, sugar cookie dough, she'd roll it out. We had three different Stamper is we had a snowman, a reindeer and Santa Claus. Right? And so we cut him out. So we had three different plans. Basically, that's it. Mom got fancy. She gets frosting. She'd make frosting buttercream frosting to my favorite by the way, folks, But it would make frosting and my brothers and I would feel like we were that Bob Ross guy. We'd create tremendous pictures onto cookies, right? Happy little trees. Yeah, we made happy Santa clauses. All that kind of stuff. But we changed it up a little bit. We put different kind of frosting on it, so, but there's still three main designs. That's it. That was it, And then we see this it at many of the name brand firms that are out there, betraying that they're doing customized plants. All they do is they change a couple like they put a couple different piece of frosting on the same cookie. That's not a true Design plan. Is it customized president and so what we first do is that we look at what you want to do through retirement, Then we tailor fit and design a financial in retirement plan..

I I mean I thank you I do mean that Joe handle them or yeah well I miss I'm assuming the whole organization but Joe was the one I heard from most often what he's on about when he walked was it two years ago you guys running he just he voted in you didn't want to play anymore that's right so what happened then they welcomed him back he was utility player he was a great pensioner he's actually doing well now or with another client yeah but I easels so what happened he walked away from the club down and other than send down he'd fail you he just in not doing it and able to report and then when when he was ready to come back or they needed them they welcome them back in there was no they had a very short memory about that exactly and I I think that was telling of the great organization a three one two nine eight one seven two hundred caller text give me your favorite Joe mad moment also guys last twelve games we lost ten right loss loss yeah okay lacerate Ganon sound like yep ten. damn. really quick I want to say my favorite Jill mad moment is not when he managed the cubs it's twenty manage Tampa Bay he set up his line up. to the order of Tommy to town. center fielder let off shortstop added second left fielder batted third eight six seven five three oh nine. I'm not saying nineteen eighty two. yes I totally forgot about that so it's a good one I also like the story Joe tells when they won the World Series how we had his childhood ball cap and here we talk about I always think about deadwood that we had to talk to the rejected the whole game for game seven and will and that was in angels cap right. and I learned it might have been I think it might a bag I yeah I think it was and that's the other thing John is the angels just fired their manager Brad Ausmus and that is one of the potential landing spots for yeah you're right he'll go who's gonna take Joe's position follows a Joe go for my money's on mark Loretta I don't know who that is he's a bench coach that was hired by the enjoyed coming into this year he works for the cubs he does this happen in all the papers that name we sort of yeah yeah okay and and the way managers have been going lately les more look more like a front office guy then is somebody that the front office of points and it is with their system Kevin who's going to get the job. David Ross guy his name is Inspiron up there. I don't know but you think about David Ross jokes seem like they were Ross was sort of the disciplinarian for these players when they were so young as you mentioned Joe when this whole thing started it was a guy if you don't run out if you made a double play on the basepaths he was the one who would ensure the cheery out but he was great Karachi right you know and they were the talks about how much she means to him that certainly seems a boneheaded stuff this year where it was just what do you do it you guys are way too good for that and David I don't know that's it just sort of feels like a right fit yeah I I I understand and I know fans would like that I I'm sure a lot of the players would too I just I never understand when when teams hire a guy that has no managerial experience I don't have. just fine the Iraqis are doing just fine words. okay I guess then I I guess than any of us could be a major league manager get the right I mean I think that's a slap in the face I think that's a slap in the face then to Joe meds what you guys are saying is show what you it was just these players and you were there just kind of keeping everybody loose but yet you really didn't matter who the manager I don't think it's it's a slap in the face to G. always much as it is to triple A. managers and guys trying to move up in the rankings that's right that the delay their do their shot I I don't I don't get it how similar dissimilar is madness departure to Joe Quinn bills that's a great question in this summit Rick Pearson and I were talking on Sunday when when jolt was exited was there ever a Chicago head coaching change that had been more disagreed with make maybe Dick got but I don't even think that held as much and I think it was just the method the way it happened I think this exit with Jill mad like Kevin said it was the perfect scenario and I mean you got two sides both in agreement whether they were or not they made it appear that way you get the feeling Joe gets it I usually undersized think he's ready to go to maybe Q. did as well yeah maybe maybe kill you as well I mean it was early in the season it was when it was fired he was but I think go ahead Joe Kevin. yes Sir I I I would say would which mad and and see it was very much one hundred percent a mutual. split I think they both just got a new it's time we Q. I think chill was it was such she woke up to the news that show quite borders fire two weeks into the season nobody really saw that common you know I mean a guy just because I got the sense was if they didn't get it done that year except in the event that there could be a mutual split you know like the the black yeah well I think they were already made the decision that it was going to happen that year I don't know if for instance if the cubs had known in may that we were going to be in the playoffs and remember how. good are start wasn't this year if if they would have made the decision early they didn't then I I guess I guess the similar to me is both popular very successful coaches most successful coaches in in franchise history for each of them right I will say this too with Madden ate some very much it's easier and baseball to to debate and and analyze the particular strategic move from a manager and that I think for a lot of people could be frustrating all why did you take this player out why did you go to the bullpen down early what would you consider this guy with where hockey not really right they believe the most critical you can get on a daily basis game by game basis the line up local kind of lined up the stairs he was skating with who's getting with Phil baseball is very much a play by play saying that I think for a lot of cook you know pay it just a baseball general because you could say that I took that picture out one one batter too early it's very easy to identify a moment the manager made the correct or incorrect decision and sometimes they make the correct decision and the results. are not what you wanted you to be like that clearly is clearly it's time to put the left handed pitcher here the guy who's betting one twenty gets left you just happen to get a hold of a fast ball so it's it's just easier to be critical I think of a manager than it than that of a hockey coach one twenty eight we're out of time and it's Kevin now you're gonna be on with role in in a little later on today in about an hour and a half looking forward to it is in baseball and all sorts of stuff John yeah we even talk about the game yesterday so well I know you guys will later this afternoon thanks for time my friend thank you Jack to Brenda is also in our studio thank you for visiting with us Joe thank you John all I have to be here last three techs are no all three need to go the jet and Joe three one two said what will happen to man's restaurant by Wrigley Field meds post Brendan I walked by there yesterday I hear they're keeping that we were going to go in just to have a beer and sort of toast you know Joe but yeah and so I understand that'll stay because the one in Florida state right here one in Florida getting. yep and seven seven three said my favorite bad memory is him getting fired worse manager to ever win. okay that's what happens when you get the big Bucks thanks Joe it's one twenty nine Stieber trance got WGN radio news.

"The financial termites all the risk fees commissions all the stuff out there and then sometime in the future truck you got to have income and the income is to come for the rest your life it is to be delivered to your mailbox every single month for the rest your life or you don't have a true income plan I call true income plan twenty two Philipp strategies because you never wore a about where the income going to come. wow it's going to come why it's gonna come it comes because it's built in it's scientifically proven to work better than the markets for lifetime income and then depending on the stock market. absolutely and that's why you need to call eight hundred six six one seventy three eighty three eight hundred six six one seventy three eighty three and get that in the one thousand set up you can also text coach to twenty one thousand that's coach to twenty one thousand yes so we talk about when we talk about putting together a proper plan there's three main parts designing it building it and protecting it now designing is just understanding qualified qualified quantify in clear fi your life in your financial and retirement goals because everybody's different Chuck so for if we are so like we go to some of these neighborhoods and every third house looks like the the house before that's right. does a cookie cutters right yeah you got her and what they called cookie cutter so if you've ever I used to love doing this we're at Christmas time mom would make a lot of better than Bindo sugar sugar cookie dough she rolled out we had three different steppers we have a snowman a reindeer Santa Claus right and so we cut out so we have three different plans basically that's it no mom get fancy she gets frosting should make frosting buttercream frosting to my favorite by the way folks but we would make frosting and we my brothers and I would feel like we were that Bob Ross guy with that we create tremendous pictures on the cookies right happy little every yeah we made happy Santa Claus the look of stuff but we changed it up a little bit we put different kind of US frosting on it so but they're still three main design that's it that was it bad that we see this at at many of the name brand firms that are out there for betraying that they are doing customize plants all they do is they change a couple like to put a couple different piece of frosting on the same cookie yeah that's not a true. design plant is a cut off was a person's life now and so what we first do is that we look at what you want to do with through retirement then we tailor fit and design a financial and retirement plan to help your goals become possible what's things you want to have happen so that's the design part and I guess anyone could design one anyone could come up with that idea but a lot of people don't act on ideas right like you see here about some of the people when it eventually comes out enough I've done this myself before when you when you hear about an invention on TV where guy makes millions you say what thought about that once yeah but I never did not have enough that you just never took that acts that you know there goes my wife again rolled her eyes which he hears that got you know but I do think about a lot of things I'd like with ratings inventing things Kramer and sign fill yeah I'm hill. Primerica. but then we left we decided and we make sure that it's a hundred percent what you're looking for that we build. and we use academic research and financial science to build an investment portfolio that aims to give you the highest probability of achieving the your goals with the least amount of risk now I guarantee you a lot of you listening weren't sure if your planner is doing what he or she is doing with the least amount of risk and the time to find out is when it doesn't go as planned that's right the worst time to find out the best time is before it happens jug absolutely that's why you've got to come in and see coach beat the team because you're gonna sit down and you're going to go over all of that what are your goals or aspirations but do you have the the finances to protect how much of it you need to protect we'll start with the rule of one hundred I think that goes hand in hand with this here because the older you are the less money you should exposed to risk and that that's the the scientific method we take was not a scientific at the role of were you take a hundreds of tractor age whatever number you get is the maximum amount of risk you should take percentage wise so if you're sixty six sixty six miles a hundred thirty four percent your money could be a risk but the sixty six percent your age which is in his eighties you has a teaching job just take your age but percent after that might need to be safe that's. that's it teaching. and all right so. but when we when we figure out some of the risk the people are taking brother told everything's fine it really is alarming to me because you're not gonna find out it's too late we don't want that to happen we want to be as close to pass was that show that used to be on TV with the guy will get the newspaper day ahead of time maybe that should run around as a people well let's save you by designing a plan that you don't have to worry about bad things happening to because the cat right right that is that is the true advance to protect strategy with the court explore and then we need to build a spend a leaf planets are told to talk about that on the show to spending money is the hardest thing to do in retirement because you always want to leave money to the next of kin right when it be great if you could start with let's say a million dollars of this using numbers off the top I had here but by plans work like this but I'm just using generic example start with a million dollars get income of fifty or sixty thousand dollars a year then pass away I have a least a million aboard to leave to your next again that's part for a high very very important spend a leaf and then we need to protect your money Chuck so again design build protect provide discipline perspective and guides to help you stay focused on the long term tracks towards achieving the most important part of your life which is retirement and making sure that we don't take risks that we that we would money we're going to need and we never Rory would never worried all about running out of money retirement that's designed bill protect makes a lot of sense. it's so simple caveman could do it if he had the right plan who was retirement planning specialist unfortunately there's a lot of people out there a lot of those folks out there in the financial world are not retirement planners they do a great job helping you build your money again that's one step in our process but protecting it they have no clue and that the only way you protected to design a true income play in all the way through retirement at folks if you are with the next twenty people call will do for you our very own strategic development process we call it our financial green plant will look at your tax returns done cover long term tax issues that exist maybe in your I raise capital gains taxes even social security can cause taxation that will help you with a social security claiming strategy a lot of people costume self over a hundred thousand dollars of income they could have got over their lifetime by selecting the wrong social security options they're gonna step was your retirement income goal that's money needed to cover the costs of the join your lifestyle all the way through retirement we'll analyse your current investments to step was the real cost of peace and a calculated risk exposure level is the big one folks in a lot of people overlook this based on the risk you're taking right now what would happen if the market went the wrong way and it's gonna happen sometimes with make sure to get the get our ducks in a row to get out of that position well to put together your very own income strategy and we'll do the four part plan according to Ford van to protect spend a week and twenty to fill up with the next twenty people call with these two hundred thousand dedicated to retirement and our strategies to work best for those you would over million folks added up all together with every all the good
