"ross allots" Discussed on The Down and Dirty Show

"Times, of course, Rawson Ryan priests. There's been a few of them now that have been getting these opportunities and everybody wants to talk about well who's next or or who else will we'd love to see again opportunity. I'm sure you as a young guy are sitting back saying I would love to get my chance in a top notch car. Do you sit back? And of course, think about that have you you've you've no Ross or closer to Ross you've seen what he's able to do. I think if I if I didn't have those feelings than I should probably stop racing. 'cause people always ask me like, hey, what, you know. Why do you? Why do you drive for motorsports? What you know? You're a proven winner in legend cars, I'm a championship. Winning racecar driver. Right. I. Have a ton of trophies back at at the house. Winnings. Everything in the sport. Why are you going out there and running twenty twenty fifth and fifteenth, and you know, doesn't like it hard on you? And I mean, first of all I'm one of the Sunni series. I'm one of thirty drivers in the world. If you look at the Cup series. I'm one of less than one hundred guys that get to go out and drive in NASCAR every weekend and get paid for it. So I'm always gonna I'm never gonna take that for granted that that it's it's a dream come true for me. So whether I'm running last or I I still get to be on that stage. Obviously, I'm a competitive guy. I want to get out there and I want to win races. And I want to win championships. And you know, my goal talking about setting goals is to be in the NASCAR hall of fame Wedneday. So I'm not gonna stop until until either it's it's impossible or or happens. So, you know, as far as, you know, competing in and all that like, you know, that's that's what I wanna do. Do I want to be there? And I'm sorry. I got attention it there. But. No, it's I mean, it's it's it's super super important to to get out there and run and do these things and get to compete with these guys. And even on the Cup side. You know, get to do that. I mean, it's it's so cool to get to Rome with those guys. I mean, I've been watching them since I was a little kid, and it's. I don't know. Sometimes I think about it. And it just like my mind is blown because I get to do it. So sorry, I got off there. Author there to not in though. I mean, have you have you talked to Ross allot? I mean, have you have you just been able to be around him and take it and kinda live vicariously through him and the opportunity that he got I think it was actually really cool to be to be kind of attached to to his deal with with Ganassi just because I was teammates with JD because he you know, I've never had that opportunity. And I've always wondered what that's like so talking about him getting plugged in and working with Josh wise, and and and getting on the simulator and just being plugged into a big team like that. It was cool to hear that information. And it helps me as a driver. So I'm I'm asking him. Okay. What what are they what are they looking for a what things did they think that you needed to prove on what you know, what kind of different things you have to do. And having that information is really important for me to get back into my zero car because he got it from you know, all these. Different guy, you know, Mike ship let his crew chief from last year. I it's talented guy. I mean, he I mean race winning crew chief in the seventy series. So hearing some of the things that Ross was saying that, you know, I it it's a huge help to be a part of that. You have. Let's let's switch to talking about Cup stuff. Let's switch to to the Cup series. You have six starts on your belt last year in this year again not in race winning equipment. But you're out there. You're running the Cup series. Are you still were you still able to tell the difference when you go from one series to another in terms of the competition level? Yeah. Yeah. It's it's it's crazy. A little bit less. Well, not even less. I mean, the package is different obviously running five hundred horsepower. And the Cup series is a lot different than going state to Michigan last year for my debut, and you know, Holland off into turn one two hundred fourteen miles an hour. A lot has changed just in one year. Yes. The package let alone competition. Yes. But with all that said you show up. And it is a completely different atmosphere on Cup days. It's completely different on track. I mean, those guys are the best of the best from first to last. Those guys are the best of the best drivers adrift stock cars and probably best. The best drivers in the world, so competing with them and seeing just kind of feeling that energy. And then just it's something as simple as like restarts. So, you know, going back to Arca the restarts are completely different than go into trucks truck restarts. Or different than extending just everything just gets tighter. And tighter and tighter. And my very first restart in a very first start in a Cup car. They hit the gas on my. All right. These guys are ready to go. Let's do. Because you know, these finishers you can kind of lag back a little bit and kind of, you know, roll into it even though everybody's tight and it looks like that on TV you get to the Cup series. And it's I mean, everybody shift at the same point everybody's accelerating hard. And that I mean, it just makes you better racecar driver. And I think that's why you saw the success that Ross had last year. You know, he got those Cup opportunities with premium, and I see it myself this year, it just helps you week in and week out. If you can sit your butt in a receipt and go do laps Johnny said, whether it's in a Cup car,

Okay. As I have texted tried to your producer Russ and Texas Jeev rats, and I've tried to vice versa. Jeff Ross my producer shares a name with comedian Jeff Ross and for years Jeff Ross would get comedian Jeff Ross mail all the time and vice versa. Yeah. I knew it wasn't him. Because he wasn't like you. Spin real look it was just like Hello Pete. This is Jeff for us. Yeah. Yeah. It's my Jeff Ross producer of our show. Not a fan of comedy. Do you think that's possible? I think it is. Yeah. I think he is. He's a great producer one of the things he is professional. He's an amazing producer. He's the only produce for everyone at work with I suspect sometimes he is not a fan of comedy. 'cause that'd be make sense. I think some pretty funny stuff. He's just as replica. Okay. Enough kidding around with your jokes. Enzyme. Yes. He isn't your this. He's the thing that helps us digest that. Yeah. That makes sense. Yeah. Porn producer isn't into sex. Just like, and then the brisk come out, and then the acids shimmering, right, and it wiggles a little bit because people seem to like that. And then they warn producer who's not that into dissect that I understand that they jiggling breasts, right? And now he's just studying and in that analogy, I am a male porn star. Yes. "Let's pause ten seconds for station identification on the Bengals radio network. President Bush's remembered and Robert ballers newest target in the Russian investigation those stories and more after the game on the home of the best Bengals coverage. Newsradio seven hundred wwl w Cincinnati. Bingles inside with from Bengals dot com. We're back with Jeff Hobson right here on the east side plaza. Jeff, hops, and how you doing I'm in a pretty good. Coach desert skis in the house. That's hughley. The double Holy Cross. Unbelievable. How about that? What's now? Talking about Jeff drifts will get into start today because Andy Dalton has out Andy Dalton goes out. But at least say Jake green comes back. Well, you know, 'cause I think 'cause was here twenty four years ago when a guy named Jeff Blake came off the bench of former emergency number three quarterback. What Blake had groomed format day to pretty good? Receivers named Danny Scott and Cal. Yes, Jeff Driscoll can look to Tyler Boyd and AJ green who are on pace to do things that pickings and Scott never did which was getting thousand yards. Andy works with John Ross allot in practice. Familiarity. So he may have three levels of comfort here. I mean, AJ green is back in that the I mean Dalton's not here, but the world's a lot better with green. He. I think the Broncos have a problem because Chris Harris their political corner lines up on a slot. A five nine five ten guy terrific slot corner. Really a good player, but.

"And it it was about gang life, and you know, life in the body. Oh, and I thought that was really interesting. And so that was part of my research. So I talked to as, you know, Rico Ross allot aliens, and we covered a lot of the the broader strokes. Okay. So I want to talk a little bit about how you got into acting in the first place. You did a lot of theater in classical works. Yeah. No, I agree. Like, I said I grew up in Beverly Hills. And I, you know, the slums of every held is is actually the story. She I mean, you know, you grow up in those apartments. My dad worked for the VA, you know. And so we kind of me and my. Brother, and my folks we both apartment to apartment to go to the school system, and they had this great drama department where all the outsider the sort of freaks would be a part of this a specific school Beverly Hills high. Okay, great. Yeah. Beverly Hills is a small city, and it has one high school in four grade school. So that's the one high school, and it's kind of like a private school in gut great classes, and it's got this amazing drama apartment. And you know, so I completely you know, what I found out that you could do it as a job, you know. My my parents aren't actors nobody in my family is I thought that was great. So I was there. I went to ACT American conservatory theatre when I was like sixteen. Wow. That was quick L. No. It was a summer program. Okay. I'm sorry. But yeah, just for the summer and really got interested in repertory theatre because you could play lots of different characters and Shakespeare, and my folks would always take me to plays. And I ought to ask you some big Shakespeare Theseus favorite Shakespeare role. Oh my Oh God. my God. You either. To play. Oh my God. Yeah. Am I am definitely approaching my Queen my Queen stage. I looked at the grand my beard and think well, there goes hamlet, actually, it's funny. My husband was saying they should do King Lear do a female version that will are easy. It's been definitely been done here for I love Shakespeare. And so did you do Shakespeare over in London? I did I'm trying to think to do any in London us a funny. No, I didn't in the states in London was it was strange. I always wanted to go to London and be an actor and work for the RC. And what I found is that as an American. They would force you to Americans..

"It now? Now at Ross Tucker, dot, Robin Hood dot com. Jeez, Ross allots get to today. Let's start with the latest trade since yesterday. I know you already discussed it with Andrew, and that's the giants sending quarterback Eli apple to the who debts for fourth and seventh round pick. So I guess this is maybe a reflection now on the fact that the giants are one in five. And as we sit on the power rankings, Tuesday their season as like a sensually over at this point that you know in terms of them actually having a chance at the playoffs or anything like that. I think that's probably what's going on here because otherwise. You know, they made a bunch of moves to saquon move, not getting a quarterback Ogle tree, and a lot of their moves were solar were about winning now, and that didn't really work out for them. They didn't really. They didn't really win now. And so now they're more being sellers. It's just weird that that's all the value that they think you lap. I mean, he's playing for them seem to be playing. Okay. Fourth and seventh round picks that's not much that's like giving a guy away. Meanwhile, the New York Jets signed wide receiver chard Matthews. And that comes a few days after cutting Terrell Pryor back on Saturday. That's bizarre to me that that's the part of it. I really don't understand especially when Adam Schefter has said that prior is now healthy and prior could be ready as soon as this Sunday to sign with somebody. There's something weird there somehow Terrell Pryor does something that rubs people the wrong way. There's really no other explanation for it at this point because this happens to him. It seems like too often that he ends up getting, you know, cut like this. I don't know. They'd rather send a guy that there's no the offense and we're chard Matthews rather just bring back prior bizarre. Two pieces of quarterback news to get to in the AFC west first. Let's start in Oakland, Derek cars, relationship in the locker room pretty fractured. And the other one is Broncos backup quarterback. Chad, Kelly being charged with first degree, criminal trespassing, early Tuesday morning. So this is weird. Right? So there's a report that Derek cars relationship in the locker room is fractured with the team because he was crying after he got hurt in London. This guy go, I tweeted this at Ross, Tucker. NFL go back and watch how he handled it when he broke his leg against the colts a couple years ago when they were going to be they were gonna win the division and have a chance to make a playoff run. He handled that like a champ. I mean, he didn't cry. He was like, broke, it broke, it broke it. It's broke. It's broke, like he wasn't. I mean, he thought he handled that like a rockstar, two guys. Tough is nails. And I think this report is a little shady to me and you wonder if maybe maybe they would trade him, I don't know. Maybe the giants or the Jags would take spin with Derek Carr for the rest of the year. I don't know, but you wonder sometimes where these reports come from and then the other one is the Chad Kelly. You know, we talk about it every year on the couch draft podcast. We talk about it every year during the pre draft process, red flags, red flag players and what that means and how it almost always happens that those red flags come to roost. And here it happens again. I mean yet again. A red flag becomes an issue for a guy. Chad, Kelly. I mean Tuesday morning, and here's the thing, bright. He was probably a couple weeks away. From having his chance to play and start in the NFL and totally changes life for the positive and show that he could be an NFL starting quarterback. And now he will never probably never get paternity. So he did changes life. Now he just changed his life for the negative rather than the positive. The only other news Bri is mostly injury related, and as is usually the case this time of year really anytime of year an honest, it's not good. Derek are net eagles defensive end shoulder surgery. He's done for the year on I r same Brandon Fusco the right guard for the falcons Willie Henry defensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens. It sounds like the Miami Dolphins are going to put Albert Wilson on. I, which really hurts them. He had been electric and then a terrific terrific job for them. So that hurts other news. The raiders signed Daniel Carlson kicker, Eric Reid's grievance against the Bengals when they didn't sign him. You know, he thinks because of the anthem protests stuff they that was the night by the arbitrator. So the cabinet one's still going. The air read one was denied, and maybe the only other huge. We didn't mention Everson Griffin's back for the Vikings, so all their best defensive player's certainly one of their best defensive players back in the fold for the Vikings. So a team that's playing pretty well and is pretty good is getting even better now in Minnesota Bri I got him yesterday and they are awesome. My Ambala jeans. I got a couple different pair using the promo code Ross for fifteen percent off my first purchase ridiculously comfortable premium hand crafted jeans. You know, you guys all know what it's like when you put on like expensive jeans versus the cheap jeans. Right? The cheap jeans. It takes a long time to break them in the expensive jeans. They're like already broken in. Well, bowel is the best of both worlds. It's the expensive jeans, but you're not paying two hundred dollars like you wouldn't some department store. Like some of my friends I think are crazy by why do they even do I have no idea. All they need to do is go to Ma and bow dot com. That's m. o. t. t. a. n. d. b. o. w. dot com and use the promo code Ross for fifteen percent off Motte and bow dot com. Fifteen percent off. Absolutely. Awesome. Awesome jeans. Big fan already. I will be ordering more if I deem it. I need more. I still try to wear shorts when I can. But short season is pretty much over unfortunately Motte and bow jeans. Make sure you use that promo code Ross. That's the key o. a. n. d.. A and b. o. w. dot com. Use the promo code Ross for fifteen percent off. Let's tune Email Bri. Wanted to ask in NFL player. Question will here's your chance. It's time to ask. Email address Ross at Ross, Tucker dot com. Again, Ross at Ross, Tucker dot com. And Bry forgot to include the emails on the sheets. I'll just read it. You gotta do the deal by the way, take advantage of any any of our sponsors for to me Ross at Ross Tucker dot com. I'll read and respond by guarantee it. All right, big fan of the show. Enjoy the short, but deep dies with fezzet. As a former Lyman, I find your view on that aspect of the game. Invaluable would like to hear more thoughts when old line issues restraints present themselves random football question navigate again, bling. What are your thoughts on using someone like Khalil Mack as a blocking fullback when the team needs one yard in season on online play. I understand the risk of playing general 'rational player out of position, but of always thought through guys like him and Ray Lewis cetera would be killer to create a running gap doesn't need the overall fullback skillset, just a mentality to plow through the guy in front of thoughts that's from bomber. Good. Question bomber. And the answer is. There are. Some teams have tried that and frankly, they usually try with bigger thicker guys. Then Ray Lewis and Khalil Mack usually more d. lineman because alignment can roll. And if you're going to have a guy just to try to run people over why not make it a three hundred pound guy rather than a two hundred fifty pound guy, right? The other thing is even on the goal line, it takes some experience and some. Trying to think of the right word, but there's some nuance there to knowing how to get to the point of attack and how to make the block that you need to block. It's not just running straight ahead. You can do that, but there's penetration, you want the guy to be able to have decent feet to make a move inside or outside, and then blocked guy. He's supposed to block. So good question bomber, I appreciate it. I love it. That'll do it for a wisdom Wednesday. It's a crazy busy day for us gigantic episode of the Fancy Feast.
