James Rosen Describes Breaking a Crucial Hunter Biden Story
"Let's give credit where credit is due. Did you not break one of the crucial stories regarding Hunter Biden? So tell us about that. I did on October 29, 2020 when I was a reporter for the Sinclair broadcast group, which is the owner of about 200 TV stations across the country. We broke a story that aired on those stations. Citing a very high level Department of Justice source that Hunter Biden was under active FBI criminal investigation over his finances. I had somebody very high up in Trump world telling me, James, can you in Sinclair instead of getting this out at 6 p.m., get this out at 5 p.m. because president Trump is literally waiting on Air Force One to retweet your story, which was flattering if true, we couldn't, and we didn't. But nothing happened in short. No other news media organization, aside from taking note of what I had reported such as political playbook did the next morning was able to advance or refute the story to corroborated or knock it down. The FBI said nothing, DoJ said nothing. The Biden Harris campaign said nothing. I mean, it attracted something like 40,000 likes on Twitter, but it kind of ended with my story until after the
Why James Rosen Wrote a Book About John N. Mitchell
"At the center of the Watergate scandal is of course a man called John Mitchell. Let's remind ourselves of who this man was from his testimony. When you received your briefing from those involved on what happened at the Watergate. At that moment in retrospect, aren't you certain now that the country would have been better served on the president would have been better served by calling to account every single person in the administration who even allegedly had anything to do with it and to express to the president personally what happened. Now you're talking about not only the Watergate but these other activities. Everything that occurred from January 20th, 1969 until June 22nd, 1972. Senator, if I could have been assured at that time that the president had been reelected, I'd agree with your whole heart. You wrote a whole book about this individual James. Why him? Why not ehrlichman? Why not the more flamboyant G. Gordon Liddy or the plumbers? Tell us the role this man played and why you wrote a book about him specifically. John Mitchell was Richard Nixon's law partner in New York City in the period after Nixon had lost the presidency to John F. Kennedy in 1960, lost the gubernatorial election in California in 1962 and famously pronounced himself through with politics saying to the press, you won't have Nixon to kick around anymore. So he went east to New York to make money in the big white shoe law firm arena. And there he found himself law partners with John Mitchell, who was actually a few months younger than Richard Nixon, but up to whom Richard Nixon looked like an older brother. And Mitchell had a kind of calm demeanor about him, and he smoked a pipe, he was a World War II navy veteran. And as a young man on Wall Street as a lawyer, Mitchell had pioneered a certain kind of form of bonds that were used in all 50 states and most intensively by Nelson Rockefeller, the governor of New York, to build public works projects of various sizes and shapes. And so this put John Mitchell in touch with governors and elected officials in all 50 states of both different parties. And he moved easily among them with self assurance.
The Revisionist's Uphill Battle With James Rosen
"Let's go back to this question of comparability for a second. We have every single week lord Conrad black is with us. He's the former champion of the hottinger group, a massive newspaper mogul. And a biographer of Richard Nixon biographer of Nixon of FDR, he's written a book on president Trump as well. A man who very keenly as a Canadian as a member of the House of lords follows American football politics very closely. And he has said express verbis on this show that when it comes to the water great break in, there is, as you just said, zero crime committed the provable any crime committed by president Nixon. As a result, it seems to me that your job of being a revisionist, that's an uphill battle because that's not the conventional wisdom. Well, the revisionist always faces an uphill battle because you're always tackling a narrative that is to some extent entrenched. But that's all right. We welcome that kind of thing. It makes for good controversy and of course for sales. In Nixon's case, where the where the cover up of the Watergate break in and operation and wiretapping operation is concerned, he himself admitted to the British interviewer David Frost in the series of televised interviews that aired in 1977 a few years after Nixon had resigned him in pardon. The former president himself acknowledged that he had taken part in a cover up. That he had failed to serve as the chief executor of the laws, but instead was trying to process the Watergate case through the prism of his two closest aides, HR haldeman, the chief of staff, and John ehrlichman, the domestic policy aide, both of whom wound up going to prison. And he said, I guess a reasonable person could call that a cover up. So he effectively admitted criminal complicity in the cover up.
Newsmax's James Rosen on Richard Nixon and the Scandal of Watergate
"Nixon, the biggest scandal in American history. Would you say that's still the case and the conventional wisdoms about Watergate? How accurate are they when it comes to his culpability? You did the deep dive, give us the one on one. For somebody who believes, oh yes, he was a crook and he was responsible for the break in. Can you give us a little bit of a historic corrective? Okay, so the first question you asked was whether a Watergate still should qualify as the greatest scandal in American history. And I imagine we're obligated to continue to regard it as such, if only because it remains to date, the only scandal that has produced the resignation of an American president. So in sheer political terms, it had the greatest impact. So the fallout is one way to measure it. Well, the outcome. No other president has had to resign and disgrace under threat of criminal prosecution.

"rosen " Discussed on The Showtime Podcast with Lakers Legend Coop
"Why is he just a little bit better than everybody else? You know, I think he was able to evolve the game of basketball, his game, more than anybody else I've ever seen. You know, early on in his career, people say, oh, he's not a winner. Doesn't get everybody else involved. You were able to see it now showtime in that show, the last dance. He got everybody involved. And he was on it. He was focused. He was focused, again, I got to be around the Laker players. I got to be around magic quite a bit. And he had that same kind of focus to make sure that his everybody else in the team was going to play to their top. And when they did it, he'd get on in the same way that, you know, urban would get on people. I just think that he was probably that little little step above everybody else, but again, I don't think it's really fair to do it that way. I think the best way is to compare it by errors because what Bill Russell did was pretty amazing. He had to put up with stuff on the court and off the court. And to accele the way he did and when one more championships and Bill Russell. So I think it's a hard, it's really hard to decide who the best is, but if someone held a gun to me, I'd have to say Michael Jordan. All right, hey, before we let you get out of here lan, you work with the Dodgers, Dodgers are tie for the top team in the west. Are they going to win a championship this year? Of course we're going to win the World Series this year. We have great team. We're we've got great pitching. We've got great hitting. We're playing San Francisco now. I expect to take the lead and, you know, keep going. Baseball is much different sport than basketball. It takes a lot of players and you gotta have some great pitching, but we put together a really excellent team. And you know, one of your teammates was at the stadium the other day, Byron Scott. I got to spend some time with baby B and he met some of the players and hung out and were waiting for a scoop of loop to come back as they always loved meeting Michael Cooper. No, I'm gonna have my dog. You know how I come on? I always like that. I'm trying to make a way. There you got it, everybody. Lion Rosen, my friend, a friend to the end of mentor, buddy, former, just everything. Lauren, thank you. Thank you. Thank you, sir. I appreciate you coming on. Well, thank you for having me. Love you, Michael. Stay Michael. Do that. Thanks, Lyon. Bye. Take care..

"Welcome to another time when coupe insightful BS with my NBA teammates and NBA legends and this guy here is a little bit of both. He's a teammate and he's a legend in his own mind, as well as mine. Everybody, I'm gonna read a little bit of his bio before we get started. Line frozen. Ross and graduate from the University of Southern California in 81 while studying at USC he interned with the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA kings in 1980. And I'm going to leave it there because my story takes up with around where can I because I was on the Lakers in 1979, was hurt and we met actually in 79 pieces stand behind the curtains at the forum. And I used to tell him I said, you know what? I'm gonna be somebody out there on that court one day. And he's to tell me who I'm gonna own this joint. And sure enough, alon Rosen, just about owned the forum. Ran everything at the forum new everybody, but, you know, we have our journey in life. We have trials and tribulations and I have had mine. And I am just glad to say that this guy is always been there for me. He's been a friend to the end. Big mentor always has never left my side, but he was always a friend. Everybody introducing lawn Rosen line, how are you doing, sir? Thank you for that great introduction, Michael, and it's absolutely true before Michael really made it on the Lakers. He was basically on the injured list most of the first season and there was this tall skinny guy standing there with another tall skinny guy. And he used to tell me I'm gonna be on the Lakers one. I'm gonna be starting for the Lakers and I believe them and for sure he starred for the Lakers without Michael Cooper, you wouldn't see those 5 championship rings in the 80s. That's for sure. And everybody, I haven't paid him a dime to say that. I would like to feel he's a friend. Anyway, long, let's get right to it. Did you ever play sports? I did. I played a lot of sports. I played all the way up through high school. Unfortunately, due to lots of injuries, I never went to the next level. What sport did you play? I can't see you playing a sport. Michael, your memory is not there anymore. Every so often your coach would throw me into a practice when there was short guys and you guys would kick the crop out of me. I also worked out quite a bit with one of your teammates. He was a point guard for the team in the summer. So yes, I did play sports, Michael. How do you think I'm in this type of shape now at this advanced stage? But a good living and a beautiful wife to keep you and keep you right. And a dog barking in the background, I apologize. That's okay. We're going to let you slide on that one. Line, tell us, what was it like growing up for you in your early years? Your friend Los Angeles, right? Right. I had a great childhood. I grew up with high school here in Los Angeles. Actually, it was born on the east coast was born in New York and my family moved here before high school, went to high school, Birmingham, high school and then attended the finest university in the land USC. I know, baby. That's right. And was lucky enough to become an intern for the Lakers and Jerry busts was smart enough to hire me before I graduated and the rest has been history. The interesting thing about me being an intern for the Lakers is back then, that was very few people work for the Lakers. So interns actually did real jobs. So my first two years of Jerry bustle in the Lakers, which was 1979 and 80, I was an intern, but I was very involved with the team involved with the players and it was just a great learning experience for me and got to know all the players. We're basically all the same age. So now we're both the same age but a bit older. Listen, doing all that experience that you have actually to have. You begin working at with magic magic personal agent 85, lon started his own company first team marketing. They'll even have me as a client, but he had two people better than me. He had Magic Johnson and Jerry West. Lion went on to help the Guggenheim tell me if I'm wrong with this Guggenheim partners and acquiring the Dodgers in 2012. So you've had a spectacular career line. A lot of people like to be on the inside, but you were the ruler on the outside. Well, I actually started I became urban's agent in 1987. I left the Lakers in 1987 and I immediately began to be urban's agent, which was a pretty exciting thing for me. And I was able to build a business and Michael I did work for you for many years whereas an agent doing different deals for you, coaching deals. You're forgetting things over the years. I've had one of the most storied careers of a non athlete you can imagine to be involved in sports, the level I've been in. And I really owe it all back to my days working for the Lakers. I was so fortunate really to work with a great front office, but really great players. I know that you guys have many podcasts, but this was the greatest bunch of players you can ever be around. They were friends with each other. They were friends with some of us. And more importantly, they kicked butt on the court. And it was a real brotherhood. Pat Riley kept this team together and he kept it as a family. He didn't let the outside the outside forces penetrate and it was a really special time for me to really be part of that. I even found this seems like I find this thing. All right. All right now. We both know I'm not keep going to trust what you're thinking. I can't find it. Never mind go on. So how did you put a ring I had here? How do you transition from working for the Lakers to being urban's agent? A sports fan. "This wife is a great force in my life because she gave me a lot of grounding You know in some ways. I can wander around and do lots of different things and get pulled in lots of different directions. Because i am very curious than. I am sort of fairy available and accessible. Sometimes i you know maybe take on a little more than What i shouldn't you know. I like routine i. What is it looked like monday through friday. I work really hard. My focus is on that and what about exercise like when you say size. I exercise every morning at seven thirty two days a week. I do yoga and three days a week in the gym. All in my apartment. My house Before that i get up. And i sort of go through all my horse racing stuff. Speak to my trainers and englander. I trainers in america because horseracing happens really early so i do all my horse racing stuff early and go to the gym and get ready for work and when i'm finished with work work has gone. There's no more work of a lot of outside interests Love to play golf. I play golf. Every friday saturday sunday in the summer and frequently after the cough i come home to the house. Have lunch with with my wife and and all and then i go fishing And i love to fish. And i've couple of ponds on the property feed the fish and just have a really nice sort of surreal life for the weekend. Then i can be sort of fresh for the week. But i don't start thinking about work really until i'm sometimes sunday nine most the time monday morning. It's striking that you're you're so plugged in during the week and that the things that appeal to you outside of your professional life are actually not static. But but golf god. I can't think of a slower game or fishing or gardening. What is the appeal of horse racing. You know many horses to have sixty some sixty two or three you know. It's sort of like fashion. It's you know. I breed horses and race them and sell them by them. It's sort of the idea of trying to find the next winner. You know the next good item. It's very much like that. You know finding a good horse. You've got to work really hard to find them. Thank you very much for joining us. We got through the our. Get half stuff on your list. My guest has been andrew. "Alison rosen so naturally. I had to make daniels corner where daniel gets to put all the stuff he likes however he has not had time yet. So i saw you drag. You can go there and see what i have not had time had not had time just driving work and everything else ragging but you can go there and see what my wife thinks of me. You are someone who uses dental. I really leaned in hard if you looked at that. And you thought like who this person is. Who is this person you would think of an eighty year old man. Why because us breathe right strips because you use nasal saline gel because you use like. Let's just say curated differently than how i would've curated it. Managing my own brand. Well what's wrong with people knowing. You have a favorite dental floss. It's my favorite pretty good dental for it. Started with the dental floss. The dental floss is is solid. Had headed into your slippers. Both the swayed and the leather variety. Which you've used and you currently use them. You love them And then i was like what else do use. Oh yeah breathe right strips. Nasal sailing gel putting bandaids. Should've put your special fantasy. It's like you know there is like a jumbo jumbo-size hardly a recommendation. Fisherman's tackle box worth of bandaids on our bathroom counter. Batteries like what daniel us. Milk toilet paper. Oh i should use out of toilet paper. Let's put that. I should put your special. But wipes i mean but daniel. There's a. there's a point that i have not gotten to. Maybe i never will. But i intend to be question and i've been meaning to ask this of you. What do the bandaids need to be out in the middle of our bathroom counter. We have nowhere to put them. You have a whole under storage area. It's full no. It is not well. I don i need to. I need shelves or something. Everything's stacked on everything else look. I found amazing shelves for under the sake. I should get used. I had picked out for. We need to get cabinets and storage for the bathroom. I had picked it out. And then you're like now i don't like it and i'm like fine. Pick something up. That was a year and a half ago. And now i forget why i didn't like what you picked out was been nice. I think it was. It looked it looked tippy and t. and it wouldn't fit much like one of those chest. Has like teeny tiny listen visited online at the storage orphan or the furniture orphanage. You did not. Because i i went out onto the playground with it. You know those things those chest that have wasn't ours and you open it. And where did you hang on. The photo was actual size. You open it goes you. Did you thought this photo. I'm gonna put a battery in this one. And i'm going to put a paper clip in that one and i'll put my bobby pins and that one and then you're done. You thought you thought i was doll. Furniture looked rickety. No not at all. It was good. It would have been nice. But here's the thing. I didn't care. I just wanted something..

"Slash. Alison rosen if you need to see stephanie's reaction to that question there's some ripping your face off motions happening. Yeah i'm like. I know my mom's gonna listen to this because she's everything she's such a good mom but it's fucking intense like the same thing. She had no desire to be a seventy year old nanny. Then yet here we are. She had noticed fire to move across the country. And yet here we are. You know. I think it is a very profoundly difficult time. I think if we had to be separated from them it would be a lot worse. Though i mean i think us being on top of each other certainly has it's drawbacks But i think ultimately if we were having to socially distance from them it would be awful. So i'm grateful that they are here. my dad has parkinson's if you wanna hear him talking i put him on episode four. Because we're talking about senior suicides with which actually seniors are at the most at risk for suicide. It's not portrayed that way but they are. yeah. I didn't realize that because whenever i of a senior committing suicide i'm always like what it my mind. For some reason. I think of it as a sort of like schizophrenia. Tends to affect a certain age group. I think that that's when it would happen but but we liked to depict teenagers. We were angsty and die that way Which does happen. Obviously but river in fact middle aged white men and seniors are the most at risk so go ahead and think about that. If you're listening. But i did an episode about about that and we were telling the story about a woman who lost her seventy year old mother and my dad has parkinson's and he the reason they're living here. This this whole thing happened because he's disabled and again. I i apologize for my daughter. She thinks that she needs to protect us. From all the bad things in the world and so that's what she's doing right now. She's doing her job. She's she's so good and part of being in quarantine. I am no longer in studio so my dad has use a walker and we had we found him an airbnb and.

"I mean what are you going to do. Things happen but the way that they did it and the way that they did it to kevin a guy that was on the air there for thirty years is despicable and that. That's the part that really bothered me. I'm fine. I'm loaded so didn't bother true. It seems like they with love line. They also got rid of the people that we know and then suddenly. It was people that i had not heard of who are doing love line. Yeah that happened. I think when it was still. Cbs radio they got rid of drew. And mike catherwood which makes zero sense and then they had someone else take. I don't even know what happened with that. But essentially they have no rights to it anymore. Drew and mike and for what basically drew and poor man created decades ago. So it's the in and outs of of radio. Yeah yeah like. I thought television was gross. I thought that was pretty bad. At the beginning of your shift they could just rip you off and be like not extending your contract. We'll see later but in radio the literally do it like in the middle of a sentence. They'll be like hey we're flipping to country beat it. It's gross czar. It's just it's crazy. So welcome to the world of podcasts and patriot on very exciting. Alison rosen well. Like i am a like not only an enthusiast but sore of the high end artificial trees. It's just i only know balsam hill. Yeah that might be all there is. It might be a monopoly. So you've got like a beautiful picture. Perfect hallmark well lit tree next to a fire glowing in your flat screen. Tv and then there's like some balsam hill looking garland all around it and you're oh my gosh. There's some kind of table scape with many trees and other chachis back there. Andrew dressed as santa claus. I love christmas. You guys i love it. But i thought you were going to explain that the santa claus hood is like covering somewhat hair. It's yeah i took a nap and didn't set my alarm in time to fix the hair i can. I can show you like it like the back is just crazy. Oh it's just it's bad. There's bad stuff happening. I relate to that so much. i don't know what it is even like. I'll just get this. I don't like i'm trying to figure out what triggers it. Because i will get just a wave of feeling tired and overwhelmed and i'll be like especially now that i'm second home the time i'd be like i'm just gonna go get under the covers for like twenty minutes or something and do this multiple times throughout the day but i think there's a little bit different than what she said. I think for me there must be. I don't know if it's like when. I have to make a decision. I don't know what it is but something just like i'm like fainting goat. I gotta go. I got flag down. Yeah i feel. That's funny i i am not a morning person. The funny thing is i remember. I think it was my mom might have been. My husband was like fear not a night owl either. Like i'm like to stay up to like three in the morning. I'm asleep person and i have made. No there's no shame in it. I just need a lotta sleep. I need like nine hours. Which i know people are like but hey that sounds great to me. It's amazing and even then sometimes like i could sleep more so you know that's just so in the morning definitely but i bargained for more sleepy time so i've gotten to the point where i know that i don't like to wake up multiple times because then i just feel more tired i still don't you know it's like not helping me but i set my alarm the last like so i have to get up like there's no negotiation it's alarm on off. You have to be like on cameron like thirty minutes. Get your shit like come on katie. Get it together. it's time and so i do. I definitely do that. So i yeah. I feel that on camera question. I recently plugged in an old hard-drive of mine. And i found something called like you know name of project self tape and it was me auditioning for a show and i was going to say the name but i. I've decided i'm not going to be maybe later. And i put myself on tape for it. And i i clicked on it and i looked so tired and so like not into it and i watched it and i was like no wonder. I didn't get the gig. I look like and i remember i. I think my attitude was like. I just have to turn something in. Not like there was no joy. There was no sparkle though anything. I mean the thing is like actually i think about cocktail sauce is tomato base. So maybe it doesn't have to be so gross but feel it just feels gross to me like. I don't want to mix seafood with pizza and asked. I don't want hot shrimp. I'm a big old. Yes please. Mike had janis remember. "About EUCHRE. I think I. I think a last one I've had we used to live above for ten years I live directly above in Brooklyn live directly above my landlord. Home it was like you know a Brownstone and we just had like the top apartment and that was a little tough because it's like they're just always there and you kind of have to like and they were so nice. The nicest people in the entire world. But it was like you know they're just always kind of like aware of what the fuck you're doing and kind of communicating to you about it, and so it was always just like I never I I don't like it. Then like like neighbors I WANNA keep neighbors. This is what a neighbor interaction is like hey, doing. All right. Anything. Is. This like let's go. Let's have some boundaries. Let's have some boundaries. I'm beginning to suspect that our neighbors don't like us and. Also I was informed that my husband told the neighbors, the name of my shadow. Action that makes me wonder could that have been like did I say something is that why they don't like us And there's just a few data points that make me wonder about this. So our neighbors over there and no one knows where I'm pointing to and I don't know if that's north South East or west and it really doesn't matter. But our neighbors in one direction however, this video is up on Patriot dot com slash house when Rosen so you can see me point. They have having small parties A. Quotes in there back in their front yard. Like parties get Gimme how many people talking? I've never really seen. I've heard I've seen pop a little tent up out there I. Don't know maybe like ten ten. It seems really bulls people stop by maybe like between six and ten like. Go out there be out there all day people seem to stop by on and off they're wearing masks and stuff. But I am I simultaneously have two thoughts one what are you doing having a party to why didn't you invite us so the? Feeling. So, this has happened and then I saw the neighbors across the way come to one of the parties and really. then. I was like, Oh, my God did they just see that they were having a party and decide to stop by or were they actually invited that really made me feel left out of the party that I don't think should be happening. And then our other neighbors across the way who like when we were moving we closed on the house and then we're doing some work on it before moved in and it took forever but they were like.

"I might have had Jones to the dolphins. They really liked him. He's a pro quarterback but six pick is awful. Reach. But I want to for perspective getting back to Rosen, the the two highest graded quarterbacks in this draft were Haskins in color Murray at ninety Rosen a year ago graded ninety two. So if again, if you believe in grades Rosen was a better core is a better quarterback than anybody who came up this year. It's tough to compare them with Murray who's obviously dual threat where one of the false. I had with Rosen, and I have more than one is that he's he's not a real mobile guy. But in terms of pure grade and potential Rosen is is a quality quarterback. Ninety two is a great grade ninety five is about as high as it gets. Well, that I assume one hundred would be as high as again, but nobody you know, I could research this, but you go back several drafts. And you're not gonna see many guys hired now. I kinda just want to know all the negatives. You have frozen you just tease them. You said I have a few your colleagues have a few right? Well, one of them is mobility lack. Of the other one is that he has been turnover prone in in thirty. I think in his last thirty games college. And pro he said twenty six interceptions and seven lost fumbles. Which is a lot though, he doesn't take care of the ball, particularly. Well, one criticism of Rosen. I don't have the one that gets bandied around all the time. He is his personality is the idea that he's not a real gung ho football guy. I think that's our Mondo. That's it's Bs. I don't buy it. And I don't think that's a factor dealt with anybody on the dolphins. That's why they traded for. I don't understand his personality thing you you want a guy that wants to compete and win. Right. So you wanna guy that wants to start you want? You'd rather have a quarterback change. Okay. I'll sit on the bench, and I'll let someone come and take my job. And I'm not gonna fight for it doesn't matter. He's too smart though. He said that that thing ended up happening to them in the press conference yesterday. Just because he said, hey football. I'm bigger than football. I've football doesn't you know? It's not my be all end all and that's offensive to the people in the football. He's he's a very smart. Guy, and he doesn't mind letting you know that he is he's glib. He's very well spoken, and and the quote to justify I don't need football is look if football is all of a sudden taken away from me, I'm not going to be on the street selling drugs. I have a brain. I'm smart, I have a big support system. I can do other stuff. I've never you've covered football for a long time. I've never understood why football coaches are so threatened by guy being smart. They don't want thinkers, they want guys. We'll just run through a wall. They don't just do what you're told. Yeah. Quarterback should be the one exception to that. Because you know, you're allowed to have a personality. Baker Mayfield is is showing that and in this case Rosen is so smart. He's going to absorb the new system. He's going to absorb the playbook in a way that allows him to be the starting quarterback from day one where a quarterback with less smarts. I think you'd go. Well, you know, what Ryan Fitzpatrick is probably going to start the season. And then when Josh Rosen is ready he'll come in. I don't think that's the case. I think Josh Rosen is play sixteen games, and it's sort of hell. Again, some that he looked at his situation sort of analytically, whereas Steve Smith went viral criticizing his Josh Rosen seemingly inability to stay there and compete Steve. Smith emotional Josh Rosen rational. Yeah. Josh Rosen looked at it. It's like what the general manager is not going to admit to mistakes by starting me over Kyla Murray. Not gonna do that. He's already admitted the mistake in drafting me last year and drafting another quarterback number one overall. You think I have any shot at playing over number one overall because then times just in meeting that he's just a buffoon that was various suit. I thought what Rosen said about that? And what Steve Smith said was complete rant gibberish. It was just so great TV though, it was just so nonsensical..

We're talking about the movie fighting with my family and who's our guest reviewer. We've got John on the line. And he's seen the film. And he's going to weigh in on what he thinks. John has it going? Good morning, Mike. Good morning. Thank you. Excellent. What'd you think of fighting with my family? Well, I'll tell you when I saw the title and saw the trailer. I was expecting more of as you have mentioned earlier the rock and not a big WWE fan. But boy, this was granted dealing with wrestling. But this is a wonderful story about family. It's warm loving engaging. Very witty humor out there. And I I saw it as three stories in one of the family's passion for wrestling and staying as a family unit. No matter at what cost and then, of course, following Zack's story, especially after Zach didn't make it into the WWE for that for the scouting purposes. And of course, pages of what I'd call like a Cinderella story that she had coming to America, and then going through the training session and finally being impact for the WWE. Yeah. You know, I obviously the focus is on page here. But I think Zack is almost more interesting. Because what if your dreams were dashed? This is a guy who's trained for this. All his life. And he keeps being told. You're not the one you're not the guy. We don't want. You doesn't mean you're a bad person? But you're not the right choice. And I was heartbreaking and just watching him go through, you know, he's got a girlfriend he's going to be upcoming father. But. Have your dreams dash in that fashion? And then you see your sister living it out and she never boy to me. She never seemed like she wanted nearly as much as brother, and I thought that was interesting too. Well, professional wrestling stardom in professional wrestling is not simply a matter of wrestling skill. And by the way, these are very very skilled athletes. Oh, yeah. The kind of gymnastics performed the falls that they they take. They don't get stabbed as often as you might think. But you've got to be an over the top personality. That's essential. In addition to what's given that. You're a good a good wrestler, and that may have been Saks difficulty. Vince Vaughn, by the way, I thought Vince phones performance was excellent item is here. He was great was the trainer and the the scout. And the one who would go abroad or wherever he would go to have auditions for people who wanted to make it a WWE's basic training. Yeah. Lot of tough love from his capture. Do you could tell he wasn't a jerk. He just needed. To get the right people, and he wasn't he didn't want to push people out of their comfort zones. But he understood that you can't you can't mollycoddle people. If you're ready, and you're there good. But if you're not you've got to check out so arguably Zach was better at wrestling than page page had something about her that Vince Vaughn thought was ticket to stardom. They showed briefly here, which I think is more common, and they sort of the lower levels of of wrestling where people really hurt themselves. There's a one scene where Zach was wrestling and someone through tax on the mat? And he went down in them and fell on him and afterwards yet they show him picking some of the tax. I think people will cut themselves. They'll have sort of a like a razor blade implanted somewhere, and they'll cut themselves to make themselves. Look like they've been really hurt. But that's that's real blood. And I think that I think Bressler is on a lower scale need to do that, maybe db more theatrical, maybe get more attention. Maybe they just because it's more hardcore. Well, the thumb tacks. Have now been banned that was part of the legislation that congress passed earlier. The Trump presidency under tax reform. Oh.
