People Are Divided Over Whoopi Goldberg's Suspension

"You'll never see a headline in The Hollywood Reporter, ABC divided over firing Roseanne Barr over one tweet. Nobody shouldn't around saying the cash of the talk or the chew or whatever the heck the name of the show was that Sharon Osbourne was on. Nobody sits around and says, people divided about Sharon bean fired because she defended Piers Morgan. Nobody says anything in defense of Paula Deen or Mike lindell or any other victims of cancel culture, but when did somebody on the left when it's a, when it's a superstar of the left? Well, we're divided. Real simple for me. They made these rules. And they need to play by

"It's time to stop being. Take the high road, Mark. Why are so many people so let's be let's be genteel. This is what we do. Let's go down. Let's do it. And what she said was they would just let me and let's be consistent. Let's be back. With that, in my consistency, is going to demand that kind of grace for people on our side. We don't get it. In fact, my whole thing for the last couple of days here has been let us hope that miss Goldberg notices some of the grace coming at her from conservatives, walks it back into that coven at the Senate, the view and tries to practice it toward others. I'm not here. You're way more of an optimist than I am. Do you know what you're way more to hope? Because I'll tell you what I tell you what you agree with. I'll tell you who now baloney. You want to know what the right thing is? Roll up your sleeves and get a little dirty with them. We can not stop. You know what's up? You know what? So those of us who bitch about cancel culture all the time, oh, but if it's somebody we don't like if it's somebody in the nasty left then it's okay. That's not what I say. She look like fools if we all come on. We look like we're playing, but we're playing hardball with them. We're not looking like home. Go to work. You know who you know we love to crowd. I'll tell you who looks like we will look like fools when we say let's be let's be genteel. Let's take the high road. Let's be decent. That's your John McCain all of a sudden. Don't be John McCain. Guess what? No, you're going to go there. He did the same thing. You want to know who disagrees with you, Mark? Roseanne Barr. You know why Roseanne Barr luster entire TV career? I was stupid. Well, that but it was stupid, but it happened. And you'll say, well, it's stupid, but so here's the point. Here's the problem. The way we make that right is go torching people for minor mistakes and then we're going to get up on our high horse and talk against cancel culture.

"Crew. She's a professor at George Washington University revealed she'd been lying about being black for years. She will no longer be teaching classes this semester a spokesperson for Gw you did not comment further requests not been returned for CNN the message from the Gw, you administration comes just one day after crew is a professor of African and Latin American Studies revealed. She was not a black woman that she had been passing herself off as for years instead she revealed she's white Jewish from Kansas. City and throughout her adult life there she goes Krug had masqueraded as North African African, American, and Caribbean rooted Bronx blackness. was onto her ass years ago Roseanne Barr. She knew Oh. Yeah. That's right. Didn't know. Little yardstick. But how bad is racism in this country where half the people are trying to pass themselves. As. The hated race or not have to build. Those Cases of people trying to become a race that we allegedly hate and that doesn't seem. Not a great strategy. If in fact we are who we say we are well, it was funny because like I said August was the first person to send me this article and I got many after that and he made some joke like Oh must be a friend of Gina's well I said I it's not that big of a community. In Kansas City, I promise you I know someone who knows her psych I text, my best friend, my oldest friend from Kansas City and I said what's the deal that the name sounds familiar? Do We know her? Yes, she went to our synagogue she's so and so's niece She was a few years behind us to sit in front of us at snuggle. while. You Go. It's a small town in Kansas City. Now was she doing this in order to get a break I mean to get on the staff or to be able to teach these subjects credibly other thing too is kind of weird. It's like. I can listen to a guy speak about the civil war who didn't participate in the civil war needed to be reacting I'm old fashioned that way like I just feel like you can talk about Black Studies Chicano Studies. You may speak about that like you speak about any subject yes. Right. We're all you got CAESARIA coming on soon but like some of The best analysis about sports football regular are not from guys who played the game. You know what? I mean the best hitting coach Ted, Williams, the marginal hitting coach. You know what? I mean because it came. So naturally to him, I is the person who's studied it and really understand the science of hitting and that's why booger McFarland doesn't have a job. Exactly. Right I. Think you're right like. Is it the chicken or the egg? I would be shocked I mean, that would be a way bigger story if she felt like soul man like had to become this person to get this job than it would be like this undercover story and it would be totally different. This seems from just just a few paragraphs that this is she wanted to identify an Oh, I, would get a job doing this and she said I'm not a culture vulture I'm a culture leach. This kind of her may call. Yeah. Well. But if you think about it, if we live in a world where we're really getting granular about people's heritage and it turns out that you're kids got a better shot at getting into a better college if they have a little native American blood in them or little Hispanic or little something, it makes sense. A lot of people are going to be checking that box when they're filling stuff out like there's going to be. We are giving people in that. Arena that the college campus if we're saying. We are going to lower the admittance standards. If in fact you have a little this in your heritage. And your heritage or we may be hiring, but we're looking for somebody with this and their background and not that in the background. It stands to reason that a lot of people especially in the murky world of heritage are going to start fudging things right? Why? Why wouldn't you? I mean, what's so different about Laurie Lachlan out mean it's like going. Past. Kid off like half Cherokee Indian or something she probably would have would have done that. So I think we're going to see probably more of this. Well, she's no Elizabeth Warren.

So they went out it on social media so Wanda was defending Joe Biden so ended up being a whole political thing that I'm not going to get into because we don't talk a Lotta politics on this show. There's a reason for that. We want to give you a break from that but Scott ended up calling Wanda a hack liberal. Gosh and then Wanda explained her position and she's like oh I'll let you get back to whatever it is you do. Nobody knows do anymore so she was kind of coming at him and I think he was trying to be funny or he was trying to really jab her inches like oh good for him. Made a joke. Comedy AIN'T EASY. I WANNA say they got back together but I could be wrong. Idea he's He's really a radic. And I like behaviors like that. They wear you down and so he's just an and that's one of the things with social media and him as he he gets on these political rampage and then people are like okay. Dude like Sop we get it like. He's one of those that just doesn't let up like until you believe what he says till he gets his point across. Beats it into your head and it's it just as unattractive years ago. I liked him but then watching that reality show in. Vh One he just sit jerk. He's yeah the way he treated. Remember if was I. Remember the G- The girlfriend I guess the Melissa. I don't remember the life but he treated her like a jerk. Yeah pretty much. I remember just thinking. Oh man the punk Charles up to he's come heartthrob you'll worship me. So they went back and forth. And I guess Wanda Sykes used to be really good friends with Roseanne Barr and then when Roseanne had that whole Ambien tweeting racist thing that she went off on you know wanted ended up cutting ties with Roseanne and then Scott took issue with that. He's like Oh really. You're not even going to give her a break you get. She said she was on Ambien. And so yeah it got messy yesterday so people are like a random feud Scott wanted to sign. Yeah and I'm sure just from talking about this people talking about it entertainment news. They're going to get followers on both sides. Sit back.

"You can find a business that would hire you one day a week. That'd be just fine. Roger stone is in the news again. Apparently he violated his gag order with a social media post which once again, to me, this story, the biggest thing, it proves is that social media is bad social media is a bad thing. We shouldn't use it. We shouldn't have it at shouldn't be available to us because mistakes are so easily made ask Roseanne Barr, asked several people who do things like drink, or take a drug maybe prescription drug that they aren't aware of the effects of, and then go on social media and lose a job. Roger stone has a gag order. He is not allowed to talk about his case. He's not allowed to influence, anyone but apparently some of his social media posts have been they seem to break that rule because it seems like he. He might be trying to influence the potential jury this is on Instagram and Facebook on June. Eighteenth and nineteenth. He posted comments about the case and inviting news organizations to cover certain issues. And this would potentially be a way to influence jurors which is a bad thing. You don't want to do that, Roger, you need to just be just get off of me. I've talked about this, too. I have an idea. I think that in the radio industry, there's producer's producers are sort of like your, your last line of defence you make a you come up with a really bad idea, and you pitch it to the producer. And he's the one that says no bad idea close, it down last line of defense before it ever gets to you. We need those for social media. Everyone needs their own personal social media producer. And then you ask them if this tweet if this post make sense, and they say, no or maybe there's just an app that just looks at a certain algorithm. And says, if you say too many curse words or there's too many judgmental things in the post. Let's just let's shy away. Roger would have very much love to have that app. Andy, you know, by the way. These people that are, that are criminally prosecuted in connection to the Muller investigation connection everything else. Obviously, none of it has anything to do with what they were investigating. It's very odd. There are three scopes that have been talked about a lot recently where the scope of the investigation is redefined via kind of a memo. And when you continue to investigate stuff, it seemed like they were, they were getting more and more desperate to just find something to find some people who did something wrong in some way, and then blame those people, and then, you know, Muller can look at you and say, hey, look success. We, we got somebody. We found someone who was guilty of something, it's not necessarily what we started out to investigate. But hey, it's, it's something a couple of other quick things for you on a Friday. I don't know if you've heard, but we are all growing horns, you have a horn. I have a horn, young people their horns or crazier than ours. And it's because of our use of a cell phone new research blames the amount of times we look down. We crane, our neck downward, just to look at our mobile phone as creating an additional kind of spur of bone in the back of our neck, that's just giving us some additional support back there and the horns will just keep growing. I don't think the lever protrude out of our heads. You'll never be aware of them. I don't think you can touch it. If you put your hand back on your neck, you should be able to do, but I don't think you're gonna feel it, but maybe eventually are horrible, be more noticeable. But just a bit of, of news that if you're a guy who loves to use the smartphone. If you hate putting it down that, you know, there's something. Growing in the back of your head. All right. I want to move on to a couple of things today. It's a Friday, you don't have to stick to the to the news of the day, the whole time. Right. You don't wanna hear that you want some fun stuff, and I don't know if this is fun. But these people have a great job. Researchers in Scotland have been training seals. That's right seals the animal to sing the Star Wars theme. That's what they do, when they show up to work, they go into work. And apparently, they've taught them some other songs. This seals originally, learn twinkle twinkle little star. They got a little more musical as they went, and now they're at a place where they can saying the Star Wars day. And I have I have audio I have nineteen seconds of, of seal. Singing, too bright near Friday. We go a little star. So the first one is someone playing the music for the seal, and then the second one, the one that you would say like it's your kids still learning an instrument kind of sound that is the seals singing the song. I just don't understand how you get to a point where that's your job. Like that's the job I get to do. I just show up to work every day and figure out how to teach an animal to sing the Star Wars theme. That's my whole thing. I don't I, I want that. Can we get to a place where I get a job like that world, someone reach out to me, and let me know what I can teach a seal to do that. Sounds I'm opening it up too much. I want to teach him to sing any kind of song, and I'm down for that, because that's, that's apparently a job. That's job. You can have in this day and age. That is twenty nine thousand nine hashtag woke. We're all super woke. This is the Chad Benson show. I'm Craig Collins, filling in. There's a lot more to get today. I promise I won't play any more crazy music. For you anymore. Seal singing like that. I think they have talent they just have to, cultivate, and a little bit more. We have a lot more coming up here on the show today. We, of course, we'll continue to talk about the conflict in Iran, which I hope stays, not a conflict. A lot of people hope stays, not a conflict. It just makes more sense for. It's not be that this is the Chad Benson show. Craig Collins, filling in.

"Budget. So the question of back showing is a question of what will be in next year's budget or not? And that process has only just begun the Trump administration only just submitted its request to congress for the twenty twenty budget. And so over the course of the year, the Republicans and Democrats will be debating what will be in that budget, and one of the questions will be will there be any back filling for this money? That's taken for the wall. And what we don't know is whether the Democrats will prove willing to cut a deal on that front. Will they say will will put the three point six billion dollars back into these projects if you agree to something else because what the Trump administration's also proposing cuts to domestic spending, including Medicaid, and there are other priorities that the Democrats want to see change in this budget. So there will be some horse-trading there. And this will certainly be one of the prime topics discussed. Paul sony. A Pentagon reporter for the post. What are they registered? She is very religious and very strong willed about Israel. One of my editors noticed that she was supposed to go to Israel to speak to the parliament. And one added advantage is this celebrity rabbi rabbi Shmuel, bow take you know, he wrote a book with Pamela Anderson on sex, and he had a reality show. He's this orthodox rabbi who does not shy away from publicity. He was organizing this trip and he was bringing her over. So I connected with him. And I was able to link myself into this thing, and there was a small percentage of a chance that she wouldn't spend any time with me. But I figured if I just got to Jerusalem, I'd have a chance. Jeff has always been kind of interested in Roseanne Barr as this cultural figure, an outspoken blue-collar comedian whose sitcom told complicated but relatively progressive stories about a changing America in the nineteen ninety s I'm an old, man. And I remember that for a show that I remember Roseanne. And what I remember is that she was unlike anybody else who suddenly plopped onto my TV for coffee every morning. This nasal voice. We've been married is there have been one morning where there wasn't any coffee. Do you have to ask me every morning, if there's coffee, choose overweight, and like really not stylish and seem to embrace that. There was so much about her. That was interesting to me. But after her show ended resent became more of a fringe figure, especially online, she's like seen as a deranged conspiracy theory, pushing Trump supporter exactly, but you know, again, just to consider the contrast in nineteen Ninety-four glad gave her that award the first vanguard award recognizing her. She was put on the cover of the advocate and recognized as person of the year. I mean, that's a pretty deep. Contrast after Donald Trump was elected president ABC decided to reboot Roseanne the thought that the show could resonate with an increasingly divided America. How could you have to Roseanne? He talked about jobs. Jackie you said you shake things up. I mean, this might come as a shock to you. But we almost lost our house away things. Go have you looked at the news? Because now things are worse. The show was a rating success, but near the end of the first season, it's suddenly got cancelled. And that was because Roseanne posted a tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser under Obama in the tweet. She compared Jarrett to a character from planet of the apes. Here's the thing that tweet is not defensible. I mean, we know that you can't defend it. But she's tried to explain it. I mean, she tried to apologize. And the problem is. The apology was also an explanation and the explanation didn't really make a lot of sense to people. I mean, what did she say? We'll her explanation is one she did not know that Valerie Jarrett identified herself as African American. So that's one thing. To the other piece is that she's obsessed and there's a long record for hatred and obsession with the Obama administration in their policy in Iran and their Iran nuclear deal, and what it means for Israel. There's a long record of that about saying, it's it's a logical record. But there's a long record for speaking out on that and the thread, she responded to that night in the middle of the night with her laptop open on her bed was about it started with something about WikiLeaks and Obama and it led to Valerie Jarrett, and then she made this tweet using planet of the apes, which she said was used as an explanation for the government in Iran, comparing the government in Iran to the actual movie planet of the apes again, how anyone could determine that from fifty three character tweet is beyond me. And I think beyond her, but this is a woman who her own kids were trying to hide her Twitter account. What more can we say about? It. I mean, it's the most regretful tweet you could ever imagine anyone making after her show was cancelled last may Roseanne mostly disappeared from public life. But then earlier this year, she started to reemerge. So I mean, this is like an obvious quest answer to me. But like we'll just pretend that I'm not asking, but why is Roseanne Barr on on the West Bank next this barb wire? Overlooking Tel Aviv and the airport. But

"From the newsroom of the Washington Post. Numbers at Washington. The washington. Shema with Washington has this is post reports. I'm routine powers. It's Friday March twenty second. Today. How Trump the Pentagon's budget to pay for his border wall? Roseanne Barr heads to Israel and what birth order says about personality. When President Trump declared a national emergency last month that meant that he could access billions of dollars in military funding and use it for the border wall. Talking about an invasion of our country. With drugs with human traffickers. With all types of criminals, and gangs. What this national emergency allows Trump to do theoretically used to take any of the money that congress has given to the Pentagon, but has yet to be contracted out. Nats paul. I am the Pentagon correspondent for the post. The White House hasn't said what projects will have their funding redirected toward the wall. But this week the department of defense released a list of forthcoming projects and the funding for these projects could be on the chopping block. If the president uses his emergency powers. So what we did is we went through that list. We took the list of twelve point nine billion dollars worth of projects. And we cut out everything that is scheduled to award between now and the end of September. When you do that you come up with a list that is actually four point three billion dollars. And the White House says it needs three point six billion dollars for the wall Justice fiscal year. So theoretically, that's most of the funding in this pot of money. The immediate question that came up was what in the Pentagon? Budget is going to lose funding. The congress Ardy gave to it in service of construction of the wall, and it turns out quite a bit the territory or state most affected as Puerto Rico. There's four hundred three million dollars worth of projects in Puerto Rico that are on this sort of slimmed-down list of most likely to get defended. And with those projects have been related to recovery from hurricane. These are mostly projects that were funded before that the top state by value that is at risk of being defended his Washington state. They have three projects out there. Two of them are designed to improve the place where we have all of our nuclear submarines, and then by number of projects for Jinya is the state at the top of the list. So how are people going to be affected by this? So one of the things that we learned when we looked into the specifics of what's likely to be funded is that a large amount of the money is actually for schools. It's for schools on military. Installations. Both abroad and in the United States. So it's something like over six hundred million dollars. And this is for the renovation and reconstruction of elementary schools middle schools and high schools on military bases in places like Germany Japan. And then here in the United States. There's one in Kentucky for Kimball, and then he said that there are projects that are supposed to happen and other countries that will likely be funded. Yeah. I think one of the most shocking things that you see when you when you drill down into the specifics of this list is there's been a longstanding Pentagon project to try to shore up European allies that might face, Russian aggression. If there is a situation where Russia does anything to them militarily, the US would be able to come to their aid allied forces would be able to come to their aid quickly, wait. So the fact that this project that emptier helps us defend against Russian, military aggression. The fact that that's on the tropic block. At least for now, are are we supposed to read something into that? I don't think that was purposeful. I think that just happens to be the case when you drill down into the list, but it's seven hundred forty five million dollars worth of funding for these initiatives in European countries. And it is facing an outsize impact if they take this money, but the Trump administration says we're not really defunding this. We're just diverting the money for now, and then congress can come in appropriate more money next year in order to pay for these projects. What does congress have to say about that? So this is the whole debate about what they're calling back filling. And so the idea is we will take this money out of the military construction fund and then in next year's budget congress will fund again the projects that we've already taken the money for Senator Shelby who is in charge of appropriations in the Senate. He said, don't worry. That's fine. We'll do that Democrats in the house said absolutely not. We're not going to appropriate. Congressional money for projects that we've already. Appropriated congressional money for. Because that undermines the whole purpose of congress, which is to hold the power of the purse under the constitution, the the idea that like we've paid for this once and if you decided that it wasn't important enough to keep the money they're to pay for this project. Then we're not gonna find a way to pay for this a second time. A lot of what the Democrats are emphasizing the precedent problem here that if you allow a president to simply declare national emergency and then use Pentagon funds in a way that congress has an approved. Then you could get situations in the future where future presidents continue to do that. And then congress is kind of held hostage every time to refund the projects they've already funded which creates this possibility of a breakdown in the process. So is there any way for Democrats in congress to prevent the Trump administration from using the money in this way? So they can refuse to pass a Bill that includes any back filling what we don't know is how this will all get debated over the course of the year as they debate next year's budget.

"The beating of this. Oh, Julia Barbara's her. I said she. Well, she's doing an interview with the times. And I'm not sure if it's the New York Times through the London London, Lauren K, the London Times and. Apparently, they brought up Michael Jackson, and Barbara Streisand turned down an offer to do at with him. He their Michael Jackson reachout turn duet. Okay. Approach and. She. Times they asked her about finding Neverland. She said she absolutely believes the men Robson and James check and she described of. Jackson Jackson is very very sweet and child late. Yeah. She says you can say molested, but those children as you heard them say they were thrilled to be there. And they're both married and they both have children. So it didn't kill them. I know. Then she no she was in trouble. So she said it's a combination of feelings I feel bad for the children. I feel bad for him. I blame I guess the parents who would allow their children to sleep with them. Why would Michael Jackson need? These little children dressed like him in the shoes and dancing in the hats. He's waffling answered all blaming the kids. She's feeling sorry for Michael Jackson. I would've been better. I am not going to answer. I don't have a comment or you're just said, I watched it. And I believed the kids and leave it at that. But yeah, Barbara, well, you know, this is the thing. Ask ask any anybody in their seventies? And they are very air filters. Go away their filters go. Here's Roseanne Barr. She's not quite in her seventies. Yet. How old is she doing sixty six? Okay. Gave an interview to the Washington Post. Don't ask me why Chevy crabby? Yeah. And here's what she told the post about. She blamed Sara Gilbert for Roseanne being canceled. Even though the Connors is on. She said she destroyed those show and my life with the tweet she sent out about my tweet, you'll never get enough until she consumes my liver with the fine candy coating Hannibal lector. How do you really feel Roseanne? And of course, that was Roseanne had tweeted about Valerie Jarrett originally wrote over the top racist and all. You know, Sarah. Sara Gilbert said she was disappointed about the tweet and our actions to say the least. Yes. Yeah. But she tweeted that out that day when Roseanne Barr was doing all this back. And I for Sarah spoke up it isn't in the story Laurie. That's a missing link. Yeah. She also Sara Gilbert said, she'll always be family in them. So that's the better way to do it rather than quoting Hannibal Lecter. Well, then blaming sandbars. She doesn't. I know what happened to her accountability thing she was going to do. She needs to hire heavy Mellencamp. Well, according to Lisa Vander, prompt that teddy kitten camps accountability campus. What did she call it last night? He called it. Like, I'm almost accountable almost. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, daddy, made a pretty big admission that she was all part of the doggie gate. Why are they so down on team least this when I don't understand? I'm just sick of that whole thing, but we're talking house White House. Okay. Here's another one for you. Joe Alwin doesn't want to be a celebrity into being famous. This is Taylor SWIFT's boyfriend who has gotten a lot of great job since his association with her good for you. But don't believe someone when they say, I don't I'm not into. Then why one of the most famous in the world if you really didn't want to be part of that? Then you would not you're in two of the biggest movies of last year Mary Queen of Scots in the favorite. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. Okay. Now, what is it is it the prosthetic nose or the prosthetic fat suit Julianne Moore who stars in Gloria bow which I can't wait to see? China theater? I to me get to that. Again. He said that she was fired from for can you ever forgive me. Because the director didn't like the work. She was doing with her nose prosthetic, Richard E grant who so charming and delightful as the friend, and can you ever forgive me? He said Julianne Moore wanted to wear a fat suit and a fake nose play. Liz, Israel, and the co writer said you're not going to do that. So so they cast Melissa McCarthy and said, yeah, okay. I have no comment. You don't wondering why you think Julianne didn't want to say anything about that. Like, she doesn't words come out of her. Why would anyone wanna save that goodness? For Richard E grant who is at an advertising event in Europe this week, and they asked him about who needs to first of all. It gets her multiple setbacks and changes. But I can't imagine anyone other than Melissa McCarthy. Sure. So brilliant. No. For me. Like, you guys thought it was one of the best in such a greets three a literary forger. Yes. A million water. Yes. Who fell at her time? Okay tavern. All demanded more women on our ABC talk show for her staff. The antecedents good for her. Yes. She told the audience at a Rolling Stones women shaping the future. I said sorry to tell you. But we're a lot more women are staff. How many people to produce a morning talk show fifty extra? We don't know. What time she's going to be on it first of all someday time during the day? But it takes a time. Would you say like thirty five well not that many well like with? Yeah. I don't know Lori. We have to ask Jason that the hurried. Anyway, I have no idea I liked that. She did that. I wish NBC would listen to you..

"Not to say we're going to force. Everybody to go vegan or anything crazy like that. But it's to say, listen, we got to address factory farming. Maybe we shouldn't be eating a hamburger for breakfast, lunch and dinner like let's keep. Yeah. But we have to take a look at everything, and what we need to realize that climate change is about every choice that we made in our lives. Would you say climate change would? He's hugging. Bed was killed yesterday. Yeah. Same thing. Okay. Why are you so much? So the woman sounds like a dope. I pointed this out when you listen to interviews with her. It's like like, oh, yeah. Like, the fact that she's on this pedestal. And now, she's considered some kind of an expert. This is just baffling the the fifteen minutes of fame the way that she has been propelled and of nowhere. You know, the moody the movie inaccuracy, I mean, this is another classic example of that that I mentioned Roseanne. And Roseanne Barr on a video posting that she put up on her Facebook page, or whatever the hell this thing is from she just rips her apart lit listen to this. "However, I think what really matters is not politics, but people. In one thousand nine hundred four when he did this was it a big deal. I was only eleven I was in the mid west not in Virginia. I would think and this is just pure speculation. Because at eleven I wasn't seeing this kind of stuff, but I would think that this would be more of an offense in one thousand nine hundred four in Virginia that would be like in the midwest, which was a an anti-slavery state. I would think it'd be worse and more insensitive to do it there. But I don't know what we need to hear from people, for example, that knew the culture more at that time because I was eleven so somebody that was twenty one or twenty five at the time. So somebody who's fifty five between fifty I'd say between fifty five and sixty five will be perfect to tell me. Especially if you're from southern state originally because I would think it'd be more offensive to do this then. But maybe you'd say now, Chris eighty four we still pulled stuff like this. And then also if you bumped into somebody. Oh, yeah. Our number eight hundred two eight eight WBZ eight hundred two eight nine two two seven. I wonder if. If a black person saw this. In nineteen eighty four in a southern state, if they would be even more offended. I think it'd be also very interesting to hear from African American folks who are in that age bracket as well. You know, late fifties early early to mid sixties recalling what it was like an eighty four. And again, I was here. I was only eleven though. So I mean, I don't know. It may have been to kind of more commonplace. Then. Because one of the things that somebody said to me today is kind of excusing it by saying dude, it was thirty five thirty four years ago. Totally different time. It's wrong for us to go back and jet something. And to a certain extent, you could be right. But I don't I don't know. This is pretty bad. This is pretty bad. But I am having a hard time that saying the guy should step down. Because here's the question on that issue. Just shame him away. Is that because you know, that's one of the problems with the way, we're as society operating sometimes nowadays where well, but he's one of those like Roseanne Barr. That's it. You gotta go. Nope. Nope. Nope. Too bad. You're done. Never again, some things I would agree on. This one. I'm not really quite ready to do that. I'm just not. Especially because he's at me. He immediately admitted it and apologized for Dino. This was sitting in the yearbook from his medical school at the library at at the university where he went to school the medical school. I mean, it wasn't like it was being hidden. And, you know, another comment that when my colleague said today was well, I mean, gosh, what's in your yearbook. What can we find in your yearbook? I said dude, you could find a lot my yearbook. I said there's a lot of bad things, of course, like well. But I'm not. I'm not running for office. But I I don't I don't care. It doesn't matter. It's either something that is beyond acceptable or forgivable at this point or not. I think that anybody could have anything that most of us could have anything in our past that could make us look bad. He wasn't. It wasn't even hiding apparently this must've been too bad because it made the actual medical year medical school yearbook. But what makes the offense a little bit worse is the fact that I mean, he could have been twenty six or twenty seven to twenty eight at the time. This picture was taken. I mean, it was he a senior in medical school on guessing from what little I've seen. We don't have all the details. Gosh, a senior medical school. What are they twenty five twenty six twenty seven? I mean, this isn't some teenager. So it makes it harder to forgive with that aspect of it. But I'm not I I'm surprised that move on to the to the guy resigned. And I'm not sure I want to be in a climate like that as long as somebody owns it. You know, what else to it's funny, the Democrats member jeans bird? He was a clansman a real one, right? Wasn't. He from Virginia. His democrat from I think from Virginia or West Virginia. I think it was. But he apologized knowledged it. So it's just real interesting. Trump says that there's a good chance he will declare a national emergency. You know, we're carrying the state of the union speech on Tuesday. Live on WBZ at eight. And then immediately after it I will come on and react. And then you will come on and react as well. And we will carry the democrat response from Stacey Abrams. Who I can't believe they picked her. The woman is extremely anti-guns. You know? Put together a Bill in in the Georgia legislature to take away have people turn in their guns. So we're going to carry that live on Tuesday. But apparently in the state of the union he may say that he's gonna he's declaring a national emergency. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a drafted, and he actually says it as they release it. You know what I'm saying? And part of me says that that actually could be a good thing. Beck has he has tried in earnest to get a wall. And today, the Democrats say not it's not just you know, Nancy polcy says you're not going to get one dime. And then you got the Democrats like Jim Jim Clyburn saying, oh, yeah. We're for a while while we're smart wall. It involves drones scanners and sensors to create a technological barrier too. High to climb over to I'd to go round a two d to burrow under how stupid.

And sometimes it's even like, Pearl Jam or something newer. I humbly suggest to you that that is way out of sync with your content with your what your audience that might be expecting you to play. What do you what do you think? What do you think our audience would be expecting us to play just? Good to hear this. I don't know what would be right to play. But I gotta tell you that the rock and roll stuff is out of sync overall nature of the show and your content. So what what? No, wait, wait, wait, Claire, Claire, Claire, what would you? What would you have us play? Well, see I was I was thinking. Okay. What would you suggest something just with? No, no, no words for one thing. Get words out of it. So she's not that offended by. Yeah. And that's buddy. Nobody is. I mean you ever ever hear him with Dr drew? Oh, yeah. He he lets Dr drew have it like we always like to say, Dr drew is the smartest dumb guy. I've ever encountered like he is so smart on the topics that he knows. But when he doesn't know the topic he really doesn't know the topic. Like, he's just he has no interest in finding out even one. I oughta about the things he doesn't know about doesn't care. One specific focus in these done wallet. That made him tons of money. So why deviate? Yup. And an Adam calls him out on come on. Drew? Don't be stupid. It makes me laugh every time. I hear it. I mean, it's just funny. You know, like he he doesn't give a shit what he says to people, and for whatever reason people are just like just Adam. And it works. It works for him. Because he's now a celebrity, and he has been for some time now, and he's got cloud him, and he's got money. And it's not that he is coming off of you know, the randomly saying some random thing about one person here. They're like people set about Roseanne, which came out hating. She's a racist bitch and people should have known that beforehand. And then gotta fend shot of cleanup and came out of nowhere. He's been that same person the whole time Roseanne Barr when away for a while and came back and being the same bitchy person and didn't like it. So it's when you're that consistency is what key out of. I don't think he changed that. And it's got paid a lot of money to be a very funny asshole. And if I yeah, he's got a clown. Buttle like I said life calls. That's the thing though. The podcasting world is the perfect place for that kind of attitude because you get to decide what content you put out and the listener gets to decide are they willing to listen to that kind of content or not you don't have the pressure. And you know, what if you decided that? All right. I need a threshold for one I'm going to stop doing this show. So as long as I have five people listening to me just five people. I'm going to keep doing the show you could do the show forever because you don't have some asshole behind going. No, no, no, you're not. You don't have enough. People listening to you need to change your format you need to do. This don't say that the next time because of his people off that's why radios dying because people can just switch over to podcast and radio. Announcers are learning this to they're making good money as radio announcer than they take it in reinvest in podcast, and they start promoting products. They make Bank. That's exactly what I think. The good idea behind all that also comes to being true to who..

"Even Eddie what up? All right here, we go. How have our wives changed us fellas? Oh before we do this. Have you guys seen this story about the guy who claims if any of you guys ever, take an Ambien? No, no, you've heard about what people white Dwight shops. He gets he gets package deliveries to the house that he has no idea he ordered ambient. Yes. That is hilarious. Yeah. So there's like a whole website dedicated to the strange things people have done. Yes. On mbia. Why is this guy? Apparently he had apparently fell asleep and asked his girlfriend to marry him. I heard this story. So so what happened is apparently he had a ring that he was thinking about giving her and he added in his nightstand. And I guess she was staying over. He fell us. He couldn't sleep. He took some Ambien. He took four times the recommended dosage which right? There's your problem. You're gonna end up times you and you take four times the gosh. Yeah. So he he takes this. He goes to sleep. He wakes up the next morning his girlfriend's lying next to him has the ring on her finger. Oh my gosh. And apparently during his sleep he he asked her to marry him and apparently went on Facebook. No updated his relationship status from from from a relationship to engaged on Facebook. So my question is because this guy is kinda left himself wide open. Right. I mean because he he believes her story. Right. He said he wasn't going to. He was maybe going to get her a better ring. He wasn't ready. He was maybe another year and a half. Why biased fricken ring at all? If you're not ready. I know it doesn't it yet? But we were we were wondering if there's maybe he's got an open ended contract here because she could always be like. Yeah. Well that time you were Ambien and you asked me to marry me. And you said I can have XYZ who you know, what I mean? It's kind of an open ended thing he's kind of screwed here. And he. Look, I know that the ambient will make you do somewhere things that'll make you racist, apparently apparently Allah Roseanne Barr. It'll make you shop like Dwight. I'm not sure if it will will do that. But he's look can't. He just say, I'm sorry, sweetie. I was on ambient. I don't remember this take the hit. Does it make you honest? I mean going back to the Roseanne Barr thing. Right. I mean was she thinking, you know, what I mean? It's like Roseanne. A long time. No. It wasn't a surprise. Best friend that goes. Yeah. You should definitely go over and do it. She went and did it so you so you're lumping that you say your thought pattern here is that you're lumping it in ambient as in you, tell me what we're really super drunk, and we say things to people. That's what we really truly. I I've always had that argument that I don't think that's necessarily accurate. Okay. Okay. Look because you may you may entertain me entertain entertain a thought about a friend, but you don't truly believe that about a friend, and when you get wrong, and you say that to your friend. I don't think that's warps. Maybe it warps your sense of humor. So that you think something's funny? That's not. And that's all you really meant. How is this a legal damn drug? I don't know. I mean. I mean, that's wow. When you have an entire webpage dedicated to the weird things people do without knowing s that's kind of that's kind of a tip right there. How about this in two weeks? We're going to have the fiftieth episode of the twisted view. Let's all do it on Ambien. No. I'll tell you. Why? I was gonna say. You say we're gonna do drugs. Let's do they really. Is not as. I'm sorry office by. Happened to smell like God gonna work gonna work out real quick. How how how have our wives changed us? Kobe. Biggest change that has happened to your personality since you, married. Your lovely wife. I'm more. I would say. That's a hard question. Did the biggest thing she changed me? She's she's maybe a little more organized. I'll say that organized. All right. More stuff handwriting sucks. More stuff down. I guess I'm a little bit more inclusive when it comes to like all people I was never racist, obviously. But like there's certain people that I've never really like thought about and with the work. She does and the biggest heart that she has started to realize it like, you know, what your mother people that need help as well. Not just people in this area. There's other people that are that are struggling and doing stuff like that. Let's I think she's kind of made me a stronger person open-minded. Yeah. Exactly, exactly. And I'm a little cleaner. Fold my clothes now. Don't just leave him in a closet. Close basket when we first started dating in Philly. She would come to my apartment and go are those clean dirty clean. You. Let's say there are no more tidy whitey's in my repertoire, that's good. That's good. Underwear you wear dude. What are they are? They all speed is now now, they're all boxers. Why do people still wear Whitey tidies? I don't know. I think it's like, boxers. Gene. I think it's out there anymore. What are you looking for Jim? Yeah. Boy, head down real Amazon. Down. Don't look around. Us bench press. You only have a minute. Tony. That is a there's a the list is long. There's no doubt about it. We were a more accountable. That's for sure because I cared about nothing. If it was if some didn't get done it was like. Tomorrow. She was we were perfect mix because she she worried about everything, and she was a well kind of a ball BUSTER and kind of and I cared about nothing. It was like, oh, it's okay. Everything will work out. Don't worry. Now. I've become a little bit more OCD about weird stuff, and she's relaxed a lot. So we've sort of count of each other. We change each other in that direction and it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that's also my wife has made me meaner. Oh, man, not towards not towards her. She she's she she demands quality. And I used to not really care that much about it. Yeah. I would just go the cheapest. Yeah. And now, I'm like, I'm a much better negotiator because of my wife, much better. Also, I care about animals because of my wife, so yeah, I'm actually much more calm on the road to since I met my wife. My wife thinks I'm weird like why are you getting all road rage? You have to figure it out now because third John Goodman, number three. Remember when she sang the national anthem and flipped off the country. It's obviously John Goodman, but holy shit. What is Roseanne's? John Goodman voiced the king of pissed island in a game making fun of a great famous game. This is so like, John good. I know it really is really fit the mold. I mean, granted king Ralph. But like still it's like it just feels like it's such a weird thing for him to do. It does have a qua- especially after Cohen brothers shit. Like, yeah. "You don't see the past go in the same way that they go in on gay people and stuff, you know? So I think that's what it is. And I think he's like a lot of people. I don't think that's a very unique mindset. I think a lot of people are right with Kevin Hart where it's like, I don't hate gay people because I'm not like in a group. I'm not in some like, hey group. You know, I don't if us to work with them. You know, I would never call slur today face or something like that. So it's just that internalized homophobia that we all have bread and conditioning to us through society. And if you don't work hard aggressively to try to overcome that and expel that from your being, then you will always have some measure of it. Because to to a lot of people progress on these issues is like like, I said, I'm not calling you homophobic, slur. And that's as far as willing to go. Don't take light to the situation. Okay. And I know that you've apologized, and you've you've put it out there. If people haven't accepted surveys that you apologize. But do you have an understanding for the L B Q community how the youth out there may may feel about this? How they how this may have affected them as well to they're the big picture to all of this. I haven't understanding that I would dress it. And I've said everything that I can possibly say some over it. So there's really there's really nothing more that you wanna say done on the radio. You is included. You will not hear me say anything else about it. You're not gonna ever hear me say doubts about it. I've I've done all that I can do. So that was done within hopes that people can hear and understand how hard it was. If you didn't. I don't know what to tell you or do. I don't know what you're looking for. So I'm over so not to put worth the mouth. You're you're trying to say that you apologized and people should accept the way in which you've done it, even if it's not hit airway say like would like his own say. I'm over it. That's what I'm trying to say. I'm done. I'm done with this. I'm talking about today. Talking about me today, and the energy that I have in what I can do on a daily basis. I put out good energy as fire motivate. I'm a good person. I love the love if you don't see that. Then that means that it's a problem with you, man. There must have been so frustrated when he cheated on his wife, I'm not sure it must've been light how you flipping this back to me. I'm over. I'm saying. You still mad and thing is like you say he tells him a simple tall was like, hey, you do know LGBT people out here. And he was like that's not answering the question. That's not a dress in it. And I'm over it. It's not an answer. I'm not trying to be funny. Okay. You're over it. Okay. We understand that. But it's more than just you situation. And you going you don't care anybody else's over tonight. Twenty two understand that. But at the same time is like you coming up, very harsh in brash. And then you expect people to be like, okay, I understand that is far as he's willing to go. You know, I think he's gone to limit of light what he's willing to concede. Correct. I think there's a lot of pride here. You don't wanna be cutting quote punked by people, you know. And I think a lot of a lot of black men are going to relate to that. Especially a lot of black men will cause we love that. Like you can't punk me much most yet. So he's gonna have a lot of black man that would defend him tooth and nail. It wasn't. "Retail giant Sears has filed for bankruptcy. It's just the latest move in a decline that's been going on for some decades. Now, Sears chairman, Edward Lampert argues that the company can turn around, but only by closing more stores and borrowing more money in television. Some beloved characters return to the air this week in a continuation of the sitcom Roseanne. The Connors picks up where the Roseanne Rubio reboot left off when it star Roseanne. Barr was fired by ABC entertainment for making very inflammatory comments on social media, the Connors features, the rest of the cast dealing with the sudden death of the family, matriarch Roseanne, CONNER listen. Overdose, it doesn't make any sense. I got her knees fix. I flushed all our pills. Oh my God. I found these pills in mom's closet. These aren't even prescribed to her. She got them from Marseille Bellenger. That's the only thing for mom's closet that I wanted. But one of the new episodes of the Connors, Josh Rogers, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I watched the Roseanne reboot. It was very, very good. It was really well written before all of this craziness happened. I get the idea of dealing with the opioid epidemic in the family shock at seeing that Roseanne overdosed and not knowing about it. It also kind of feels like a very day use x. He no way to kind of like cut her off of the show. I don't know how I feel about. I mean, it's a way to do. It's a way to have somebody die that is relevant in the world that the show in a habits. I mean, you know, here in New Hampshire, I think four hundred eight people died from drug overdose as last year and you know, in the mail you that the Connors is portraying. I mean, you know, opioids, big issue, and I think we should note Franko just briefly that the show did get credit for being able to create a network hit that played in parts of the country that did go for President Trump in the election. It was supposed to be one of these shows that allow the whole nation. To deal with these issues very directly. No, absolutely. It was one of those shows that people are like, hey, finally, we have a show that represents, you know, a part of America that is so often ignored. It showed families who are obviously split about what was going on in Washington. They were unhappy about the fighting in congress. They had, you know, polarized question polarized opinions about our our president President Trump. But at the same time they fought through that and they still loved each other and they still had humor and they still, you know needle each other. John Goodman Says Roseanne Barr Is Missed on The Conners

"Haze that man that wasn't that long ago and the country was gripped by Roseanne. Yes. And what was going to happen? And now, of course, they've got the re reboot that's premiering next week. So John Goodman's out making the rounds. And he was talking about it, and it was how heartfelt this was Jimmy Kimmel the liquor store filler. I mean, she is definitely but. After many years is like a family and last year was so miraculous. And so unreal that went it went away. It was almost like a dream, right? And I thought boy I just crashed for weeks. Wow. I believe it. I mean, they they've known each other for decades now. Yeah. You know? And they thought they were going to be going on this cool new journey. The ratings were a huge success for the reboot of Roseanne. They were like, wow, we've struck gold twice with the same series concept. Yeah. You know, you think like a band that does that? Yeah. Like to get their resurgence. And it's like man, we don't take it for granted anymore. We're just so grateful and like Aerosmith in the eighties south like that. And you got it back together. But then sometimes there is know tension or one person is a problem, and you know, Roseanne was no stranger to controversy. Yeah. There's no doubt about that. But yeah, I'm sure that he really misses her. Yeah. He had some nice things to say about her to about how she really worked with ABC to make sure that people would keep working on the show, the reread the Connors. Oh, that's cool. She gave up a lot. So that people could work. It's weird. It was very weird during the first show without a because she's my buddy of me, we just sit there, and she made me laugh and make her laugh, which is always fun because there's always a danger being yourself, Brian. When she gave a blunt for us to be able to do the show. That's cool. That's a little bit of a hostile environment to for John Goodman to be saying nice things about Roseanne. And you know, it is it is very different from some of the other co stars who have kind of have had some it seems like at least some bitterness or resentment towards Roseanne because that's what that's what the Twitter verse the Twitter mob demands right now that you have to hate Roseanne, right guy. John Goodman, who's been around the block a few times who saying no, I am not going to trash her. I mean, she did a lot of work to make sure that we could all keep doing what we love to do. Tim Allen on 'Last Man Standing' — and President Trump

"Let's talk about Tim Allen, the comedian the TV star. Of course, his show was dumped on maybe you could go back to the dumping of a show on ABC and his most recent defense gasp of Donald Trump. So take us back to the beginning here. Oh, sure. No, no, Tim Allen had a top top particularly in a Friday night time slot for ABC. Disney sitcom on television. Ami EMMY award nomination and. You know, it's so difficult to get a a hit television show and yet inexplicably in the sixth season. ABC dropped the show it shocked the whole cash, and there was no business explanation that made any sense whatsoever. Spokespeople for ABC. Disney said it the cost had risen too high. Which? All right. Fox entertainment jumped in which smartly and picked up the show, and it will debut. This fall dodge Tim Allen has been a little bit more open to interviews because he's promoting the show. And I think the show is going to be perhaps even a bigger hit. You get a call. It will it will it maintain the same name as is still going to be last man standing. You know, I don't have confirmation of that. But I would think they'd be able to work that out that would be important. Yes. So I expect it will be. But it might be Tim Allen's last man standing, okay. So Tim Allen does this. Interview with Entertainment Weekly. And in the interview, he said. Notice because the economy is better. And he said, I like Trump we need a guy like that. It'd be able to get things done. Well, that sounds like a Maga Trump's supporters. So now, Tim Allen was already kind of in that barks. But but the fact that he is out there saying this now.
