On The Rekord
A highlight from Episode 122 - Sept. 17th, 2023 - B.A.N.S
"All right, all right, all right, all right. Welcoming you guys to another lovely episode of On The Record Podcast. I am DJ Intense, your host the most. And to the left of me, I have I am Walt. What's up, Walt? I'm about to say another word, my guy. If you guys heard earlier, you know, we were just doing some things off cameras. They're off the record. Things we don't, we're not going to bring on the record. And if we are, you're not going to get it. Unless you paid for it to Patreon. You know? Yeah, me too. That voice you hear right now, but there's no other than Ceddi said, what's up Ceddi? The infamous C -E -D. What's up people? How you doing people? I'm doing all right, I'm doing all right, man. You know, we took some time off. It was Labor Day weekend. Yeah. And then the final weekend, which is work weekend. Dude, we were work, work, work, work, work. Nonstop. Dude, I just figured they don't. Almost 90 hours of work. OT, OT. Man. One day was 20 hours of work. That's the state job. I can't wait till you quit that job. You and I both, brother. I need to make some money, but working like a slave ain't it, man? Nah. Bob Brock just said it. You think that you can get by with this hard work alone? Nah, you're fooling yourself. You're fooling yourself. Used to do that, but now you're doing that. It's a lie. It's a lie. It's a myth. All people is you do hard work, and you'll become a successor, that's all. Listen, reality is in this country, in America, you have to do a lot of grime. You gotta do a lot of collaboration. Depending on how you wanna do it, but most of the time, all those people who are billionaires and trillionaires are the ones who did the most foul -ish humanly possible to get what they're at right now in life. Listen, right now we're at over 180 days in the writer's strike and the actor's strike right now. And it could have ended this right now. This thing should have been handled already. $50 million for both unions. And now they're gonna get a loss of over $300 to $500 million because of this strike. And you have people like Drew Barrymore's punk ass. Well, she reneged on it though. She had to, because dude, she was getting the business with the WGA and the SGA. And it's separate, you know. Even... Bill Maher's bitch ass too, man, was... I didn't get the damn thing off the running. Was, oh, I don't need no writers, I'll be our show. Look, dude, your show sucks. The Seddie Swear Counter is in full effect. There you go, you have one. You can do like a ding sound from now on for my swears. I'm gonna keep it calm. I'm gonna keep it professional. Seddie the Sailor Man. I can't swish, come on. Listen, man, I'm just telling you, when Seddie get that spinach boy, man, we poppin' ice today. Oh, yeah. Little bird watch out. Now, but on some real issues, like dude, Bill Maher, the guy who said, I'm not a field n -word, I'm a house n -word, and who crapped on Stan Lee after he died and stuff, and says a bunch of other ridiculously retarded things, says he's gonna do a show. Stan Lee who? Marvel comic Stan Lee. Oh, Stan Lee, oh. That's what Bill Maher said. Yo, he be going extra heavy trying to relate to us blacks. You're a not house n -word. You're at the table, bro. You got the good chair. You got the good piece of chicken. He used to be down by the dam, but nowadays, man, it's horrible. He's just, you know, he's trying. What the legend Paul Mooney said, everybody wants to be black, so it's time to be black? Listen, you think Paul Mooney is trying to be black and competent? Hell no. I want to be in a gated community area. What's wrong with you? Like he says, everybody wants to be black. He listen to King Koon, so he know what that's about. Yeah, but Bill Maher is doing his show still, which I think it was crap with writers. It's going to be crap about writers. And then, you know, you're going to have to hire writers who are not non -union writers. We're going to be scabs. We're going to pretty much destroy their any chance of them getting actual work when the strike is done. If you get caught. Well, if you are what you say you are, then have no fear. Even if you're on YouTube and you want to get a chance of being in the industry, you can't do no reviews. No, no movie reviews, no TV show reviews, nothing. There's a strike. You doing that? You will be known and accounted for when you want to get your membership. And trust me, you don't want those problems. But my thing is, if there was already YouTubers like successful already doing movie reviews and being credible and stuff like that, that won't affect them. Is it already locked in like a partnership or whatever with certain movies? Then they could do it. As long as they get the permission from their respective union. OK. If they do something brand new, if we're coming out with The Exorcist coming out next week, they can't do no review for that at all. Oh, wow. Wah wah. Listen, I can't go into it because I want to become in that union because I want to be a voice actor. You want to sell out. I get it. So I can't speak on it at all. No, no, no. He's not selling out. No, he wants to. He wants to. No, he doesn't want to sell out. You want the Disney money. No, I want to buy in. He wants to buy in. Oh, yes. You want to buy in, you got to sell out, right? No, the license is fucking me, bro. I'm just saying. The license, the thing to get a SAG card, it's over $3 ,000 to get a SAG card. And you have to get that SAG card in order to get some work and residuals and all that stuff. That's just what it is. Listen, man, listen, Harvey Weinstein's in prison, bro. He can't get to you, my guy. He can't get to you, my guy. Listen, man, don't take that hotel meeting, bro. Am I Rose McGowan? Shoot it. It's either a Zoom call. I'm actually Judd. It's either a Zoom call or a posh Beverly Hills restaurant or a Permell Studios, wherever that super creep was out here making his rounds. But you don't got to worry about that no more. Filthy behavior. One of the girls was saying like, yeah, when I said no more hanky panky, you know. He felt a way. Yeah, you want that rolling letter to there, don't you? My guy, how could he feel a way? You've been imposing your will on these ladies for a long time. Speaking of entertainment, you had a concert this weekend, right? Yeah, yeah. I was, you know, I was like. This guy was really outside. I was like, I was like, I was like. What concert was this? I was like. Let me tell you. Go ahead, say it. I was like from the acting sheriff up north, back to back out here, you know. Yes, so for all the first time, longtime listeners, and you know, last time listening to how evidence goes, I had a couple of shows. This past Thursday, I went to an event that was sponsored by Spotify for up and coming artists. I saw three, three very, very talented artists. The main artist I went to see goes by Kamari. He's an artist that I discovered around COVID. He has a lot of like influences. He reminds me of like a Frank Ocean. He's really that, you know, artist type dude. And he put out this great, incredible album called A Brief Nirvana, which I advise everybody to check out. His name is Kamari, K -H -A -M -A -R -I. Highly recommend him. And I also saw these two other artists from the UK, St. Harrison and Elmin. That's my boy. And overall, it was a great experience, very, you know. It was at SOB, Sound of Brazil in New York City. Very intimate setting, great turnout, great energy.

"Yeah i agree. Yeah and i will. I mean matthew lillard just dies into that role in rush inhabits. He is so there's so many people ended who are charismatic and so charismatic. And i don't know if they ro the role for him or if that is just him. Because i've seen him in things sense and he's a great actor but it just seems tailor-made for him and his personality. Yeah and it's just a good time for those actors. I was looking back. I love party of five. And so i was looking back to see like where this was and neve campbell being party of five and i just think you can see. I got so much attention there. It's just kind of like a great arm. Sombo i mean of them like ride already stars and i mean even even like skiing. All rich and rose mcgowan. I remember watching her in some other. You know other movies. And then also i loved the craft. That was not may. I loved all these teams like thought. It was a great ensemble of like the teens. That were kind of in their heyday at the time period Yeah okay. So what didn't you like about that in our forties to was released in the nineties. I think that there are some problems. So what are some of your were criticisms constructive criticism trying not to scream at the screen for some of this. Because i was watching with my husband. And i didn't want to interrupt his viewing experience Notebooks i have lots of exclamation points and question mark so i will just say when i watched the maybe the first time i had the biggest crush on And billy character. And i still think he's a good looking guy and he's got the bad boy. He's brooding blah blah blah but. Oh my gosh. All of the sex stuff with him. I mean when he says all right let me let me. Look up a quotes. When he says about her mom. It's time you got over that that in the whole you would rather think. I'm a psychopathic killer. That touch me. And then when she apologizes to him. I was so angry i was so angry and it just makes her seem like a blooming idiot and i know that he is good looking and that he is falling into this whole movie trope but she is supposed to be a smart strong woman girl young adult whatever who has been through this trauma and i understand that makes her fragile but it's also made her strong and you see that in response to every other character and the way she acts towards him when she out my gosh and i know it has to happen for the plot and they're planning to the whole you can only make it if you're Thing i get it but oh my gosh that whole part. I just wanted to excise from the movie and rewrite because it was so frustrating. Anyway you're entering. Well i mean the fact that she like. He is clearly manipulating her. And he's really. I mean i was the same when i watched it. I was like he's dreamy. Back in the ninety s before i had some maturity i guess the fact that he ultimately basically bullies her into having sex with him was very problematic for me and all the i mean i found him I mean i can understand that. He is an attractive guy. But i thought he was seemed really sleazy. Yeah yup. I did not enjoy that part. I mean the whole part went jamie. Kennedy's character in the video store. Linke seems like a killer and he's like you know of course reselling listening to do that but yeah yeah what about you..

Rose McGowan Accused Gov. Newsom's Wife of Trying to Silence Her About Harvey Weinstein
"Recall election day in california. Voters are deciding whether democratic governor gavin newsom should be recalled and if so who should replace him conservative talk show host. Larry elder remains the favorite in the opponents field but recent polling shows that new some will probably remain in office. The election grew out of frustrations with newsome's pandemic orders that closed schools and businesses. For months and elders camp has recently been trying to distract from on field politics. He was joined by activist and former actress. Rose mcgowan on sunday. She was one of the earliest women to accuse. Producer harvey weinstein of sexual misconduct. And she now says that newsome's wife jennifer siebel. Newsom tried to convince her in twenty seventeen not to go public with allegations zoos about me projects and nationalize when she says invoice shoulder to make you happy so i sent my other contact and on behalf of attorney voice who's harvey weinstein's lawyer and call rose mcgowan and said what can we do to make you all way. What can we do to make this. Happy all to be talking between now and the end of my campaign. Newsom is denying that calling them part of a politically driven hit piece. So i guess. They are doing a last-minute minute classic piece a she's a big promoter of larry elder. Apparently rose is identifying with him over us and is been making some pretty outrageous and absolutely Foundation this accusations against my wife and that just shows you how low Things go in campaigns these days.

"No denial. So here's Here's how you win a Pulitzer Prize. We're all my reporters out there. Everybody that works for Southern California news group San Diego Union Tribune Los Angeles Times. You know, San Francisco Chronicle San Jose Mercury News Sacramento Bee Associated Press ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS. Here's what you do. Governor. Are you saying that your wife did not email Rose McGowan. Question number two. Governor. Who directed your wife to email Rose McGowan. Regarding the issues. Of Harvey Weinstein and his attorney. Who apparently works for your wife's brother in law's law firm. That's a good one. Why is she involved? Question number three. Governor. Are you saying Rose McGowan is lying? Question number four. When you get home. Can you ask your wife why she emailed Rose McGowan about Harvey Weinstein and the law firm. And why you why she quote asked her. If there's anything the lawyer could do that would help her to heal what she meant by that. I mean, these are not hard questions. I don't have a journalism degree. But it drives me insane. Of the absolute, You know, news that's left on the table at these press conference. Don't let the governor walk away and say they're just you know these outrageous and these are terrible and boy just really speaks to the kind of people That she's hanging out with the blah, blah, blah. So what do you say? You're saying she's lying? She doesn't have an email from your wife. She did email. Okay, well, then, who is the is the context of the email accurate? Do you support your wife emailing Rose McGowan. Asking her to keep quiet about the me too movement. I mean, there's so many questions that can be asked that are absolutely legitimate. But they don't ask. Unbelievable stuff. All right. I got to get into this West Hill stuff because everyone's talking about it. A million people emailed me. Um So West Hills is up in the San Fernando Valley. Apparently, some people want to go vote on Saturday. And when they got there, they said, Hi. My name is Lou Penrose. They looked at what your address is my address. And they said, Oh, no, You already voted. No, I didn't. I didn't vote. No, it says you did. The computer says you did. So that was happening, and people got miffed. Apparently was happening specifically with Republicans. Why is that always the case? Uh, And here's one of them many of these effected.

"Now Here's what Rose McGowan actually said at this press conference Cut 23 Go gives me no pleasure. To be the bearer of truth, which is sometimes ugly. But do you want a society that has gangrene on his leg, but puts on a fancy suit and pretend it's not there while they hobble and pain? What do you want to just stop? Look at reality. Take your medicine clean up the wound. And run. Run free. Why not change? Why not go big? Why not put a stake in the heart of evil? Because that's what this really is. This is good, and this is evil. And if you're tired of people looking at this country like the Florida of the world, which it is looked upon that way, because you know it's earned in a lot of ways. Um I know this place has it in it to be better. I know it does. I have met so many good people in this country, not the elite. Absolutely not. But the person I meet, you know That's the housekeeper. The hotel was staying at Um, who shouldn't even have that title because she's a queen of a woman. And then we have the Jennifer Siebel Newsom's of the world. Mhm. Why Why do you keep choosing that? Why do you keep electing that? Don't listen to their buzzwords called leaders, which is what these people are. I would know. I grew up in one. Like I said, they massage your mind. They keep your fear. They keep you in doubt. Mhm. They do all those

"About women you know when you look at all of these women that if march something like two million women donald trump is probably got more obese woman off the couch and industry working out the michelle obama did in eight years. Sounds like he cares a lot about women. What a great guy. There's more though in the early two. Thousands elder maintained a page on his personal website on women and domestic violence statistics citing three articles that alleged narrative that violence against women was exaggerated for political gain. A feminists would love to know what rose mcgowan thinks about that one more he said quote women no less than men about political issues economics and current events. Good news for democrats bad news for republicans for the less one knows the easier the manipulation you know women are are all just idiots that are easily manipulated by smart men and of course larryelder Another social issues that i hope People always me on at least pretend to care about Like racial issues is horrible. I so the reason why. Republicans love larryelder is is. It's a person who's african american who says that it's the fault of african americans at every turn every turn and makes them feel like peace of mind about the recent larry elder is said. Well the slave owners should've gotten reparations. Because they were losing property. We showed you that clip last week. a and. He said that he was glad yours. zimmerman do neighborhood watch and trayvon martin's community and he'd look like it. If george zimmerman was doing neighborhood watching his community. I mean that's just absurd. He's in absurd. Person who like many minorities in a conservative circles are paid to be there because of their particular demographic but only under the condition that they speak out against their own demographic their own culture their own people et cetera. Sort of back. A guy like that because you think that you had a full like that somebody gavin newsom wife said two names you think before you hung up on her. No but that's.

"No fan of gavin newsom. I'm certainly not in favor of replacing him with lunatic. Like larry elder but no one elected newsome's wife to be the governor and she's not the governor. She's the governor's wife with that said You know mcgowan cares a lot about the issue of sexual assault So i don't know maybe she didn't know that Larry elder has not only made disparaging comments about women but specifically disparaging comments about women. Who have been sexually assaulted his disparaging comments have been as recent as january of twenty seventeen when he deleted a tweet. That implied women taking part in the women's march were too unattractive to be sexually assaulted. But he's the better man he's the better man he's a better man. I'm anyway go ahead. Jank have more by the way. Yes so i think it's kind of a little bit sad to watch i. I think i really am. I don't know a personal mental health situation But when you are getting on henchmen reality enough to think. Larry elder is the better choice for women. I gotta start questioning your judgment and so not political in the sense of like hey. I like gavin. Newsom stack position better than i like. Larry elder tax position on this issue right and so And and so look let me give you. They'll be be fair and tell you what she said about why. She's making this accusation. And and so and it's not impossible so fruit she said apparently she claims gavin's wife said we'll boies schiller do to make you happy. Okay now boies schiller. What is that. Well boy schiller. Flexner is the law firm that represented harvey weinstein and so it turns out the son of the co founder. Jonathan schiller is josh schiller and is a sister in law to jennifer news. Okay now does that mean that. She's actually connected and actually said those things when she call. Rose mcgowan surprised. That's a hell of a thing to say at your person you don't know and some comments have not proven to be perfectly accurate. She went on to say mcgowan. Did i had no idea who that was. So i just had nothing and hung up on her. That was my last contact with her. Well i mean if you say that she said this mysterious thing about this law firm and then you instantly hung up on her. Even though you didn't know what that law firm was or what. Those series of names were well. Then how are we supposed to know what she actually meant. Even if your stories one hundred percent true you never even gave her a chance. And so there's a lot of issues here that makes me go. This doesn't sound like the most credible story. i lost track. So how many degrees of separation was that from. Gavin newsom operation. It's gavin newsome's wife's sister-in-law's something. Oh okay sister-in-law josh via sister-in-law jennifer. new nusoo. yeah so understand that stump speech wasn't about hey gavin. Newsom did a bailout that he shouldn't have done to. Pge which has sparked many vicious wildfires destroyed people's lives as it wasn't about that it wasn't about the homeless issue. It wasn't about any of that right. Look i do not like gavin newsom. I voted against the recall. And the reason why voted against the recall is because there are no candidates who would replace him and do a better job in fact all the other candidates are pretty awful. Larry elder being the top of that list of awful replacements. Okay and for her to make it's about me me me me me. That's all this was. That's all of that. Was me me me me based on something. That's i don't know how many degrees of separation from gavin newsom himself and you're playing with people's lives. Look i know. Jake is actually. I respect the fact that you're being considerate about potential mental health issues. That rose mcgowan has bush's messing with people's lives and it's not cute not funny and this is exactly what people are referring to when they discuss. White feminism right because white. Feminism is it about doing something in a collective way to ensure equality between genders white. Feminism is about me me me me. that's it that's all this was about and it was disgusting. Let me give you more from. Larry elder since that wasn't enough. Let's go to the next clip. This is larry elder on his radio. Show talking.

She was endorsing him. And she said that people should not labeling each other based on race and focused on their humanity. Great point. She also says she is no longer a Democrat. Here's Rose MacGowan point where I'm not a Democrat, because everybody systematically traumatized, terrorized a raft doctor stolen from me. During my time in California and in Hollywood Democrat she's starting. She's like, Why would I be a Democrat like every single person who's abused me in this industry has been a Democrat. Why would I keep doing that? That's insane. That's a good question. I like that question is that it's just an honest question. Rose McGowan criticizing the left here for the way that it labels everybody. They want to hear that the more we micro label each other. Back up the human first vote for humanity vote for humanity, I think isn't that what they call getting red pilled when you're like, Wait a second. And i have no reason not to believe her in. Dave has seen the emails and he's got the receipts is that there is a pressure campaign to shut up. Rose mcgowan six months before the harvey weinstein story came out before the me too movement really really broke and gavin. Newsome's wife was one of the people according to rose who was pressuring her and said. Hey what do you need what you need to go away. What how can we make you happy now. They're all really tied in and they all look after each other. And so when there's a real scandal like the weinstein scandal don't people forget now. Because weinstein is a punchline. Harvey weinstein was probably the most powerful man in hollywood. They come out and pull out all the stops to try to protect one another and so what. Rose mcgowan missing. is i think. What a lot of disaffected democrats and liberals are seen. Which is they might say. You know you know michael michael. I don't agree with you on everything and our views on the issues might be fairly different. If we're talking about marriage or or immigration or the america's role in the world or what a citizen is we actually might have different views on. Let's say on every single political issue for that matter but there are these matters of policy and they're matters of issues and then there are broader matters of the political order. The regime and a lot of people are seeing is regardless of what i got immigration or abortion even whatever the ruling class is so sick and so corrupt and so undeserving of its authority. That they're going to vote for somebody else. They're just just a crack it up. I think a lot of people voted for trump for this reason is it. I don't care what he thinks about war about immigration about it. I don't care. He's not one of those people and because those people are bad they're really bad. So i'm gonna vote for anyone else. That's that's an important thing. And so our democracy gave us an attack on that ruling class. Now the ruling class strikes back. Rob reiner good old meathead from from all in the family a great character on a great show. Rob reiner is father's carl reiner. Hollywood legend rob is a huge lib his baddest left-wing as they go and i'm not gonna attack him for his particular political views. I just want to point out the hypocrisy from these people he says whether it's vaccines voting rights climate change were investigating a deadly insurrection. Wasn't on my the only deadly insurrection. Last year was was blm. We're sick and tired of being tyrannized by an inherent minority enough let majority rule..

"Well with Larry Elder and I was telling him about the Washington Post Series of lies about him in their supposed fact Checker in Washington Post's desecrates the word journalism. So, Larry, you were going to give me an example when we have to take a break. Yes. Speaking of journalism, you know, Dennis, one of the many allegations made against me that I just like women. Because of an article that I wrote 21 years ago where I was quoting a study by the Annenberg School of Journalism, and that's quoting of left wing professor and there was an allegation made against me that I denied that I engaged in domestic violence, but Story ran with it. The political ran with at CNN ran with it. There was headlines for several days now. Just yesterday, Dennis Rose McGowan, the actress who says her career was destroyed because she refused to sleep with Harvey Weinstein, and it's largely responsible for why Harvey Weinstein is basic. Several rape charges. Just yesterday, she said that Gavin Newsom's wife called her six months before the story blew up on behalf of Harvey Weinstein lawyer and said, How can we make this story go away? Now, Dennis, I don't know whether it's true or false. But, you know, you know my girlfriend, Nina. Imagine if somebody alleged that Nina called Rose McGowan six months before the Harvey Weinstein blew up. Called on behalf of horribly Weinstein's lawyer and said, quote. How can we make this story go away would be the front page everywhere beyond political that would be on CNN and we know political has the story they've written. Not one word about it. The only outlet has written about this is real clear politics Now again, I'm not sure whether or not it's true, but it would be a bombshell is true. If Gavin Newsom's wife called Rose McGowan, six months before the story blew up on behalf of Harvey Weinstein lawyer and said, How can we make the story go away? That's already talking about that's all I would be talking about between now and the Election Day dinner. But tweet fell in the forest and didn't make a sound. This is a kind of double standard that I've been putting up with ever since I've been running By the way, your comments again. I follow it all your comments about women. As you point out, you were citing a study that women On on a knowledge test of current affairs. New less on average than men. Now, so for that you have been attacked as a misogynist. The which is evil. The attack is vile. Listen to this again. Uh, I have more time to do research than you will constantly on the road. Governor Newsom. This is from Red State. Yesterday. Governor Newsome recently gave a virtue signaling speech in which he lavished praise on women for being better than men at everything, quote. Women are smarter in politics. Smarter in civics. They're smarter and economics, women rule. Now. I don't care if he says that, But why isn't he a male hater? What a lot of a man had said or a woman. Men are smarter in politics, Smarter and civic, smarter and economics Men rule. That would be the end of the person's career. So you can say anything about men and nothing about women. Well, it's also condescending. I mean the average IQ of a man at 100. The average I Q of a woman is 100. He's pandering. He's pushing the narrative that Larry hates women. On the other hand, I love women. I adore women, said Gavin Newsom. In fact, I think women are superior demand. Why shouldn't he resigned in in a point of female to take his job? I'll give you another double Standard Dennis Front page article in The New York Times all about me, All of it is negative. Never once mission in my race, never once mentioning that I would be the first black governor of California dentist, you know me. I never made a big deal out of this. I have no one people to vote for me because I'm black or give me because I'm black. And frankly, after we've had a black president, as far as I'm concerned, everything else is anti climactic. But on the very same newspaper front page across the page. Is a big article about the first female governor of New York. A woman who became governor only because Cuomo resigned shouldn't even run and get elected. But that was a big deal because he had a D at the end of her name. I have an art in in my name, and I'm no longer black. That's exactly right. So You know, I like the big questions so Your experience. With the media. Has that confirmed what you believed prior or have you learned anything? New? No, it just confirmed it. I knew it was going to be nasty. I knew was going to be vicious and the degree of viciousness corresponds with how effective I am as a politician and the likelihood that I'm going to win and I knew that once I scared once I break this It's tied that they have over black and brown voters, largely because of the issue of small choice. I knew they were going to come at me with a vengeance. So nothing has surprised me. Absolutely nothing and people have asked me Do I regret running? Not one moment, Dennis. Not one moment. I believe I can do something about the crime. I can do something about homelessness. I can do something about the decline of the quality of education. I can do better Forest management. I can stop these rolling brown out. I believe I have ideas, and I've met experts up and down the state who I'm going to appoint and powerful position and I'm going to turn this around, and it's every bit worth it. Bless your soul, so I want to remind everybody in California. That we have until Tuesday to vote on the recall. That's the key because everybody knows that if Gavin Newsom has recalled Larry Elder would be governor. So the key is to vote Yes. On the recall. It is one of the most important votes in modern American history. And what about what about helping you out financially is it's still important. Are still very important. He's raised about 75 million Most people bleeding, but it's been about 100 million from the usual suspects. The teachers, unions, the public sector unions, Hollywood and Big tech. And Barack Obama just cut a commercial for him. Bernie Sanders cut a commercial point there to Warren did and Dennis noticed in any of those commercials. "And i. I i did say this. You know are are they a death cult But they're called of some kind and rose mcgowan calls him out on that and god. Bless room rose mcgowan. If you don't know about rose mcgowan. She is probably the single most important person. In the metoo movement she probably is more important to the downfall harvey weinstein and several others than anyone else. This is an unbelievably courageous woman. And really everybody does. Rose mcgowan a debt of gratitude for exposing at least some of what is going on in the hollywood culture and good for her and here she is talking about democrats. Well as some of you know some of you don't know if you've heard my name or read anything on me. In the media. I grew up in a cult and it was very famous. Colt called children of god and it gave me a superpower. It gave me the ability to see the control and the propaganda machine especially in the us for what it is and how it harms people in how the left can harm people just as much as the right if they go very very deep into it and ignore all other aspects of kind of reality in a way and and that you're serving a master that might not be serving you and i always say i come in peace. I am not here to make people feel bad about their political choices. But i am here to say that you might be an occult to if you don't know the signs and i do believe democrats most especially are in a deep cult that they really don't know about an aren't really aware of and i read the republicans alone more because i do respect people. More like is what we are. This is what we're about. This is what we're against. Whereas i find that the democrats are really pretty much almost against the same things their against a changing the world for the better and there four keeping a system in place that has forced so few people and benefits so few but they masquerade as the as helpers we would do this the world re perfect if only those republicans would get out of the way. Well okay. you've got control. So now what what are you going to do to make the world better is and the answer is there's nothing they're going to do. Better now the The thing that i would say about The rose mcgowan has right. Here is that there are lots of people in political cults and they include people on our side and it's very important that You understand that some people that you go to church with some people that you may be friends with are part of a political cult. And here's what i mean. When i say that and then it may be a right wing political cult and here. Here's what i will say. Is i had a debate teacher. Hundred years ago literally like nineteen seventy nine. I debate teacher was elliott cheap and elliott cheap by. Who knows you've probably gone to be with the lord by now but elliott. Cheap was my debate teacher at cascade. High school in. Everett washington and elliot. Cheap had a thing that he would do to us. We would prepare for a debate and then he would at the last minute. Say hand the other guy. Your your your notes. You're switching sides and you never knew when he was going to do it so you had to always be ready to arguable sites. And his belief was that if you couldn't hash inally argue for the other guys view you didn't understand it well enough to disagree with it again. If you couldn't passionately argue for their view in other words if i believed ex i would absolutely make that argument if i believed what the communists believe about capitalism. If i believed those false ideas i would absolutely do what they're doing for. Sure i would you know and so it's understanding if i if i believe. The profit motive was evil. Right i would have to. You know pursue getting rid of it right. I don't believe it's evil. So i pursue promoting it right but if i believe that and so this is the the point is that Rose mcgowan makes this argument. That you're in a cult. If you blindly accept the thinking of other people if you surrendered your intellect to someone else and you don't know why you believe what you believe. It's because someone like me a talking head or or someone else. A my friend vanoy says whoever has the priestly robes on right somebody. Who's in a position of authority says. So that's enough for you. Well i guess but at some point it probably isn't enough for most of the time it's not for me. I wanna know what's underneath it. Why do i believe that. There's a fancy Theological word called epistemology okay and what.

I'm interested to see where this theme goes of people in hollywood seemingly coming out against democrats because see twice and that's the start of the pattern who's gonna be the next one. I mean i just say this thing as such a complete fabrication. Another thing i read in a law. Last night was about. Who's called the verbal universe. The verbal universe would you this. It's it's a it's like there's a short subchapter on page three hundred and sixty three of the soft back. The soft cover technological society and it addresses some propaganda issues there and he talks about how this artificial universe verbal universe that's created by radio and newspapers because that's all there was at the time that he was ready to is it becomes so real to becomes more real than reality and you're willing to sacrifice your reality self to the virtual universe doesn't because of verbal or artificial something like that but that's what the so then now i'm looking around just seeing this totally created worlds created crisis. I got i got cygnus. So there's something but what what it is that just descended over humanity at that you know. I still don't put anything. Some organic virus search totally consistent by the way i was also reading that sparse document from twenty seventeen. Like is just so obvious that this is a among other things. What we're doing right now is a messaging and propaganda refinement exercise which also a little and burn as talk about where you have to constantly keep up a new media new demographics new. Whatever like you cannot just sit on your laurels when it comes to propaganda and that sparse thing uses basically covid nineteen or very similar to that to test run all these refinements of propaganda through electronic non-electronic and everything. It's really crazy at this point to see that this is we're in a simulation yet. His books are very interesting. That can be tough to read at times. He didn't he did have a history. That doesn't justify anything. We still really don't know what happened. Because there's just not much information out about it but the media is trying to compel the police bodycam footage to come out quickly so much to the so much to the fact that they've actually put an emergency order on the city of elizabeth north carolina. Because they are worried that there's gonna be riots and protests breaking breaking out once the bodycam footage released but it might not be because of what's actually on the bodycam footage because of what they're doing right now. What the media is doing is they are telling people what they're going to see on this video and they're getting this from the lawyer of the family. The family was able to see twenty seconds of this video and the police say it's only twenty to thirty seconds long. The lawyer says that they want to see the whole video. They're not seeing enough. They're trying to prevent them from seeing it and the lawyer said what he saw on the video was an execution and he describes events he describes please coming up he describes the he says that the man who died just had his hands on the wheel he was an absolutely nothing wrong and he was not resisting and everything was he. Just did everything you're supposed to do. And then they just started shooting at him and firing at him while telling him to get out of the car and the car drove down the road and that he hit a tree and he was dead from gunshot wound the entire story. that's told about. It seems a little unlikely to happen. In the way that the lawyer is telling it and one is because it's so one sided that you know there's going to be this other details that kind of shade that a little bit too..

I think all of it i i. It's it's complicated and it's it looks really horrible however the other angles at the video. Tell us a little bit of a more complex story. He took his knee off the neck. He put it on the back shifted around. There was not a continuous period of nine ten minutes of impression his knee on the neck as the media is portraying and this came out during the trial. The video was shown during the trial and there was even they brought out a study during the trial or that talks about how video evidence how slow motion replays video can give the perception of greater intention in the ashen that is being taken and we saw a bunch of these types of images close up slow motion that fits right into this where you can portray that intention by using that type of video and then not showing the other so on the one hand. They're praising video is truth and then on the other hand there are also lying about what actually happened in the in the context of all of the videos and this is the meaning this is we are telling. I'm going to say the sixteen thousand nine narrative the systemic racism. They are too and we're only gonna show the stories framed in a way that fits that narrative while we exclude all of the other information which is straight out of the narrative warfare. Manua go ahead. It's very convincing to see something with your own is why there's that old adage believe none of what you hear and half of what you see sound silly by. That is what that it's very convincing to do that. So if you can get videos that i think this is the pre nisshin or whatever precursor to the deepfakes stuff yet you to be one hundred percent convinced by videos they curate the videos now i think.

"Rockin drive thirty minutes forty five patrons news of the day from a perspective of truth. Liberty and justice is monica perez brad. Today is share the show. Tuesday share the show tuesday's as the day when we ask you to share the show on social media or more important with a person who's either given up on the news or is ready to have their eyes open and sell people what we're doing and why and what we're doing is we're trying to help people say up on the news of the day without all the mainstream media spin the propaganda. We want to pull back the propaganda and tell you what those stories mean. From point of view of how they're serving the direction that were being pushed in this country that propaganda that media is always been forced to throats so that we they are shaping attitudes and opinions and we want to help you understand how they're doing that. It's easy to walk away from the news. And if he can more power to you but if you go to work or have kids in school you have to be ready for when they bring that propaganda home and you have to at least give a sanity check. Offer an alternative explanation. Whatever sometimes we think that we could be starting a brushfire that somebody out there who listens is gonna pick up the torch and do their own thing or start firing your then or maybe push back on a law. But there's something. I learned last week as i was doing some meet ups and other events and it just clicked because i get a lot of emails like this. The number one thing i get from emails is thank you monica brad. For helping me stay sane. Last year and i realized that we are individuals. We are individual lists and the reason that we were doing. The meetups was so that we could actually find those other people in our communities who think like we do so we can stay strong and stay sane. It's not just for the people in your life. It's not just that you have an answer to the propaganda. it's really number one. I think that were shoring. Each other up just to know that there are saying people who save two plus two equals four. And they do it. You don't have to agree with us but at least you know there are people out there who are thinking and there's value in that and if they they didn't care that wasn't a threat if that wasn't some resistance some defense they wouldn't spend twenty four seven barring us with the exact opposite trying to drown out our ability to think and be rational and supportive and real absolutely. We are in the middle of narrative warfare like to use that term now. Because it's everywhere since we've been studying on rockin and they do not want people to think they to tell people what things mean before people have the ability to determine that meeting themselves as a straight out of the narrative warfare manual the playbook and we see it everywhere right now so we just try to little separation in between that meaning that they're trying to give people to create a space for critical thinking and asking questions and we can launch an example of this for a new listener. Who just got this show. Share the show cheese day with your top story. What is it being absolutely. This is a textbook example of narrative warfare. Right here the way that they are using these stories that we're going to talk about the theme that i've seen in the news related to police. Involved incidents with african american men is transparency is accountability when it comes to the police officers and accountability and transparency through the use of video of the scene..

AJ Benza: Fame is a Bitch
AJ Benza Weighs in on Marilyn Manson Abuse Claims
"But I do want to let you in on something that I know to be true that not many people are talking about with regard to the Marilyn Manson Evan Rachel Wood just terrible story about her coming forward and saying The Rock and roll star was abusive to her and groomed her and you must know the story by now. So it's not just her Rose McGowan had a lot of shitty things to say about Marilyn Manson, what they were dating, did it von teese, who was married to him, they dated for 7 years, but married for a year before she left because of cheating him cheating on her and also his drug abuse was just fucking through the wall. Everybody knows that about Marilyn. He admits it. He's not wanting to hide behind it. But Dita Von Teese was letting people know, because once Evan Rachel Wood blew the whistle and said, he's the most abusive person and that the deed of antis was like, well, wasn't abusive to me, but he wasn't cheater and that was a message to Evan Rachel Wood because that's who he cheated on Dita Von Teese with. So she has her own her own battles to fight. A lot of people are taking sides on this drama. Not many are taking Marilyn Manson's side or Brian Warner, his silly real name. Now you know why he changed it. When I first talked about this story a couple of days, a few days ago, I was like, look, you know, let's just wait and see what the fuck happens. We always condemn somebody because of what one person says. A girl sits up and says, he was my abuser and everybody starts to cancel a person without any proof and really there's still no proof. But I'm going to be the first, not the first. I'm going to be, I'm going to join the list. I'm going to join the ranks of people who probably think it's true. And let's face it, it's because he dresses like a fucking asshole, his music, while some of it's great. I love, I love the beautiful people. But, you know, it's insane. A lot of the stuff he does. His videos, his music, his costumes. He strives to shock people, and obviously that carried over into his relationship with Evan Rachel Wood. And clearly the longer he went, the more popular he became, the bigger his star rose, the more money he made. He got crazier.

Nineteen and i didn't smoke so i never really knew what to do with myself and i. I don't really never drank very much. So i was sitting on a bench inside of the after hours and color set and blonde ahead kind of bops towards me ablaze down on the bench across my lap. Rose McGowan Claims Alyssa Milano Made the Charmed Set Toxic AF
"There's is daily top. We have so many feuds to talk about today starting with rose McGowan claim that a listen the Llano. made the charm set toxic A. Okay this whole thing started as a political view, but then it got very personal rose accused of throwing fits in front of the crew on the set of charmed rose even says she cried every ten shows renewed because a listen made the set. So toxic in a statement to news listen. Milano said hurt people hurt people commenting any further doesn't align with my wellness plan we have not yet heard back from rose or or Warner, brothers, which produced charm. So a lot to unpack here. Again, it started off very political was a Democrat argument but then rose went there why he thinks she went there to bring charm to behavior. Look, hold. One hundred percent and if we're fighting and I'm holding a grudge against somebody I'm pulling out every receipt I don't care it. One Thousand Nine, hundred, ninety, nine, hundred. This is an audit. We're going to have this fight whether you like it or not. I guess that's true and also she's trying to discredit a list right? That's her way of saying like you shouldn't. You can listen to. Elissa because she's not as relatable as you think because listen to this she may two hundred thousand dollars a week on charm and was still throwing right she didn't get paid enough. It's like a way to discredit. I don't know. That is also. To your argument, sometimes, people will buy into that and be like absolutely. You know what? She's right rose you. If she's FELICIA's really as bad as you say that I'm listed work she says, but then other people can see right through that to say like obviously you have a grudge obviously, you don't like her you've made that very clear. You said it in an interview you do not like or. Do we really trust your opinion because it's obviously very biased. I just feel like this has become somewhat sticky with rose like we can just expect her to just go off and sort of sale of these things and quite frankly does anybody really care twenty years later if the listen. Milano through set like threw a fit onset of charms like I just don't think that's relevant to the conversation like none of us were there. None of us really really cared that much about how she behaved obviously, you want to be respectful to the crew and people that work really hard. To put on a production as we all know but we've all had bad days on this show I just feel like if in fifteen years, one of us were to be like well, she was impossible to deal with. It's like, okay. Then you should have said something then I feel like it's just so kind of in line with WHO rose is trying to be now and I'm not saying that she likes her and I'm not saying that she feels like she's credible or that she believes in anything she says. Every time someone says something that has nothing to do with you. That doesn't mean you need to go and jump in on it. And I, I hate to say this because I'm not away from everybody's experiences and I always say this you gotTa pick struggle and you've got to stick with that struggle and pick up a fight and fight as hard as you can. If you're fighting in the me too movement because it happened to you I totally get it. You're also writing because somebody was in a toxic work environment made something toxic fighting another break, and then what's next if something else comes up and you're fighting about that as well take you just take it away and makes it seem like you're only saying those things because. Of the week, right right and it's also like she made two, hundred, fifty, thousand dollars a week like made that much money. It was a hit show like I don't I also don't see how that's relevant. You know what I mean like you don't need to also bring up how much somebody made I. Don't think that that's her pleasure bill, but I will say. It rose McGowan felt leg she made. made the workplace toxic that are that's her feelings. That's her way of engaging and listened with tolerance to her. She don't have to do it over the air. She can do on the phone and just throw rose a my dad if I if you thought that way and I did that to you but I, don't think. Anymore. I don't think. I'm. Giving that apology I'm sorry I. Think we know a lot of different people not everybody has a good day I. Think People think just because you're on television or you're part of ensemble cast like your life is so easy. It's a lot of hard work that goes into this. So maybe she maybe she had a bad week or month or whatever. But there's a lot of people that we've experienced that can be toxic or disruptive or difficult to deal with. But that's just sort of this part of this dysfunctional family you keep that within yourself. You don't need to go and spread around and the and the truth is like the whole point rose trying to make was was again a political argument and so politics you know just keep arguing your facts and I think that's a fair argument to have. We argue politics stop in this country. So if you want to argue that with Eliza and you guys want to go back and forth about what who vote for do that. But I say again as you guys said, keep the history out of it because honestly just makes your arguments. Lesson weaker. We aren't just there's no right word. Thank point.

The Tip Off
Two NYT journalists set off to uncover one of the biggest scandals of the decade
"The New York. Times investigations team. Jodi cantor was facing a new challenge. ENJ- for years should reported on workers rights and specifically women's rights companies like Amazon or starbucks. You know I had come to believe. The gender kind of can't open are a for investigative journalism that these stories were not only about women's experiences but because women are often me outsiders at these organizations. If you focused on the women's experiences you could learn a lot about what was really happening inside. It may twenty seventeen and her editor put her onto a new patch. The previous mumps has seen a slew of allegations around powerful men in the public eye allegations of sexual abuse use and harassment about bill cosby or TV anchor. Bill O'Reilly The Times made of sort of all around commitment to sexual harassment reporting and so we decided to look in academia in factories in restaurants in Silicon Valley etc etc but that was a huge patch. Cover so where do you start well for Jodi. It was with a tweet that caught some people's attention a few months early. Ah The tweets was from Hollywood. Actress rose McGowan and in just a few characters artists. It promised away into the story. The tweets was accompanied with the Hashtag. Why women don't report and read as follows? Because it's it's been an open secret in Hollywood slash media and they shame me while agitating rapist. Jody sense who the tweet might be about it. Tallied was something elsewhere somebody had given me a tip about Harvey Weinstein and said the story really needs to be done but we were really starting from nothing. We a new only rumors had no idea whether they will real or not so subtle at her desk in New York. Jody stead her computer screen. She was not a celebrity gossip tip columnist. She didn't have any connections with anyone in this world. And it's not exactly an easy universe to wonder into. I didn't know any actresses you normally emily when you're trying to get in touch with the famous person. You call their publicist or their agent. But we did not want to do that. Because with all due respect to this people they're gatekeepers and we thought they would just shut us down and a few people Jodi did manage to talk to didn't exactly fill her confidence that there was even a story here. Harvey Weinstein Though A well-known in the industry wasn't exactly a household name people had heard of his films and his company but not that many people would have been able to point him out in the crowd and Jodi kept hearing the same thing. There were some very condescending Hollywood sources who lectured us and they say things like oh Jodi the casting couch which is just a part of Hollywood and it's been that way from the beginning. It's a very unfortunate part of our industry but it's just not changeable and look you're never get your little story but if you do nobody will care. Feeling a bit stuck Jodi went to her editors they had an idea another reporter who face similar roadblocks alien her reporting give mecanical. They suggested so Jodie and I didn't really know each other She had been at the times for much longer than I had. And she was wondering what to say when you as a reporter when you do get a woman on the phone who you suspect has been a victim of of sexual harassment or assault. What you say in those first thirty seconds to try to keep them on the phone but you know I basically tapped into some of the experiences dances that I had had in that reporting which was to say? I can't change what's happened to you in the past but if we work together we're able to publish the truth. We might be able to protect other other people. We might be able to use your private pain towards some sort of constructive purpose. Meghan put the phone down but couldn't stop thinking about a work. Jody was doing so when she returned to the office after her maternity leave. She knew exactly what she wanted to do. I quickly ended up becoming her partner on the

Iran protests: Who are the opposition in the country?
"The latest protests in Iran over the Iranian military's unintentional downing of Ukrainian jetliner are different from past ask protests over rigged elections rising gas prices and what Americans liked to call voter suppression this time. The protests cover a much wider area of the country this this time protesters did not chant death to America or death to Israel. This anger was directed at the theocratic regimes handling of the missile strike. This time a president president of the United States tweeted his support for the protesters at English and Farsi and warned the world is watching Democrats. Were nearly silent about the protests even though Oh they once boldly voiced opposition to totalitarian regimes interviewed Sunday on. ABC's This Week House Speaker. Nancy Pelosi appeared to minimize the significance insult demonstrations host George Stephanopoulos asked her if she supported the demonstrations and whether it would be good for the regime to collapse. The protesters are are. I pro testing as I understand this brand of protesters about the fact that plane went down and many students were on that plane and these are largely students in the street. Come again the far left which increasingly dominates the Democratic Party predictably took a rand side against their own country. Actress rose McGowan tweeted. Dear Iran the USA has disrespected your country or flag. People fifty two percent of US humbly apologize is we want peace with your nation. We are being held hostage by a terrorist regime. We do not know how to escape. Please do not kill us. And then she ended with a Hashtag Solo Money Aig. SHUTT- responded to McGowan and many others on the far left in National Review magazine. He wrote quote while it may be tempting to dismiss McGowan's attempts attempts at whit her line of reasoning however faulty is echoed by nearly all the Democrats on the campaign trail and by virtually every Middle East specialist in the media and in academia unquote. Now why aren't the Democratic presidential candidates asked if they share such views. Perhaps it's because those asking the questions don't want to do anything thing that would harm the chances of one of the Democrat presidential candidates beating president trump in the November election. Does that sound too harsh. We'll consider that ninety. Two percent set of media coverage of the president has been negative. According to a study by the media research center could the protests in Iran. Follow the pattern of other freedom movements like solidarity in in Poland or demonstrations that led to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union or could they end a stalemate with increasingly brutal repression as as in Venezuela. It's too early to say but we should at least expect people who enjoy the blessings of liberty including the right to say very foolish things to support the efforts of others who want to free themselves from totalitarian oppression

Q
Jury selection at Weinstein's rape trial trudges forward
"It is week two of the Harvey Weinstein trial in the tense moment for Hollywood and the me too movement for decades Harvey Weinstein was this towering figure in the film industry he was executive producer behind huge movies like you know the English patient and good will hunting in the king's speech most of Quentin Tarantino's films but since October twenty seventeen more than eighty women have come forward accusing him of sexual harassment assault and rape heavy winds dean is now facing five charges including rape and predatory sexual assault of two unnamed accusers and those accusations sparked the me too movement Rebecca Keegan is the senior film editor at The Hollywood Reporter she's been following the trial and he joins you from Los Angeles to talk about the implications the trial has for both the me too movement and for women working in Hollywood right now good morning Rebecca thank god so there's a ton of coverage of this trial for you what are some things we should be keeping in mind as we had to well we're just heading into sort of the heart of jury selection and I think that's where a lot of this trial will be decided it's going to be incredibly hard to find twelve people who are impartial apart about hardy winds dean in New York City because of the just blanket of media coverage it's also interesting to note that many of one's dean's alleged victims have been coming to the court house they should want to make an impact on him on jurors and on the victims will be testifying you mentioned there that some of the yes some of some of the I'm accusers have been coming to the courthouse including the actor rose McGowan this is rose speaking outside the court on the first day of the trial your Harvey no matter

The Harvey Weinstein Case
"York the trial is expected to last about two months and will be a high profile media spectacle as many are gonna be interested to see if the fallen entertainment mogul can escape any type of punishment and just as the trial began in New York there were new charges of sexual assault that were leveled against one scene in Los Angeles for a look at the Harvey Weinstein trial we spoke to Eric Gardner is a senior editor at The Hollywood Reporter winds teen is being charged with sexually assaulting two women one of the women is known me me hi my A. she is a production assistant to alleges that she wears assaulted back in two thousand and five the other woman's name is not known and she alleges being raped in two thousand thirteen additionally there will be other witnesses coming in with their own stories of being assaulted by once you know over the years there are about three or four of those women we don't know that their names or their stories but the prosecutors hope to use those stories to establish that once he has a pattern in how he approaches women and a lot of the stuff beforehand was sealed off by the judge judge James Burke so there's a lot of things I as I said some secrecy surrounding what's going on that we really don't know yet the judge wants to do a couple things first he wants to preserve the power of having a fair jury trial doesn't want there to be any mistrial on this so he he sealed off the rulings a question it also means that we can't really scrutinize the basis for a lot of his decisions were like who he's choosing to allow to testify who is not we don't know the name of one of the accusers we don't know the names of the witnesses we don't know which evidence has been precluded because it's prejudicial so there's a ton of stuff that will be kind of surprise is going into this trial and there might be things that we just never learned about trial there might be things that aren't said that we don't know aren't being said because their strategic core because the judge has ruled to allow that into the trial would mean that once you may get a fair trial whatever the verdict will be there seems to be already some skepticism to whatever's going to play out there and whether it be because of all the money and the power that Harvey Weinstein had or or whatnot there's already kind of this looming over it there's a sense of mistrust so if for instance the verdict is not guilty will people accept the judge's reasoning and the second reason that matters is because you know a lot of this Michael on appeal so you know there's a lot we don't know about the case the judge is clearly made a decision here that to preserve a fair trial require secrecy on the other hand people are going to report this reporters are on this case for two years not reporting this and if there are mistruths part of the blame for that might have to go to the judge as well because he's not letting out a lot of the information out so a lot of the misinformation could be attributed partly to the secrecy I think it's not such a great crash dance I think that's the reason why a lot of media organizations pushed to open up access to some of the pre trial hearings and but something the watcher as as this moves forward what what are we gonna learn about how the how the judge conducted himself in this case and you're talking about you know that need for this fair and impartial trial that kind of played out in what happened on Monday a little bit where the judge was talking to the defense attorney saying Hey you know you did the same view on CNN do not disparage any of the witnesses you know it's gonna be hard enough to get a fair and impartial jury as it is we don't need you going about this that way because I guess the prosecution was trying to get some type of broad gag order in the judge didn't really go for that but he did give a warning to the defense at least say do not talk about any of these witnesses judges are always leery about some of the comments that come outside the court room so that's not not such as a prize from one scene perspective his point there's been there's been a lot of bad stuff put out there in the process and one scenes lawyers just want an opportunity to rebut it and to push across their story and so they don't think it's fair if they have to remain silence while there's all this reporting out there about him as a monster and from their perspective they can't get a fair trial if they're gab and the judge has a lot of discretion he can do things as you wish us as he's been planning out this trial clearly the second he's made is to try to keep this as tightly lip as possible and now this is all going to spell out is kind of unusual there's a very high profile case ace yet the ratio of things we don't know two things we do know it is quite high compared to that the typical high profile trial and it's going to be a huge media spectacle I mean the jury selection supposed to be about two weeks the whole trial I guess they say something around six weeks as this was getting under way in Los Angeles there was two new charges against Harvey Weinstein there was a little bit of counter programming from rose McGowan I did they had like a press conference as the trial starting this is gonna be a huge media spectacle as well some of the stuff that's happening outside the courtroom is a lot more interesting right now than what's happening inside the New York court room the first week in the RP one scene trout could be quite boring just Jerry saying whether they can commit to a six week trial on a lot of juror in perspective jurors will take themselves out of pull because they you know have jobs and they can't do that but you look at what happened today in new charges being announced a Los Angeles that was alluded to at today's hearing I think that there might be a push and about whether or not some of the media spectacles that are happening outside is going to change what's happening inside so if there's any news the common in next week I think it's going to be motions based on a lot of the noise that's happening outside the courtroom every gardener senior editor at The Hollywood Reporter thank you very much for joining us

But the real story is he finally got his young female attorney in a woman named Donna racho. Rose McGowan sues Harvey Weinstein, Lisa Bloom and others
"KCRW sponsors include LEICA presenting missing link the latest animated film from the studio behind core align and Kubo it's an adventure about finding your true identity bloom who the alleged women's rights lawyer who went to work for Harvey to discredit people like rose McGowan she is saying this is a diabolical Sousse silence assault victims she saying that they they engaged in racketeering violations of the Federal Wiretap Act etc etc and I have to say there's a piece of this litigation that involves someone I wrote about Roy price who was the head of Amazon studios and I feel like it's a real window into the backscratching then a can occur in a roy price was accused in our story of misconduct and then when we published he was he was excused from that job that the same day and he had harvey had quite a relationship and rose McGowan alleges that that Roy price was part of this attempt to shut her down me and she this this one piece of Roy Price in this litigation is a window into how guys help each other out yes the allegations the lawsuit and this is piggybacking on some of the stuff that's in Ronan Farrow's book catch and kill is that Roy price optioned rose McGowan runs screenplay and for reasons that we don't quite now and then when he was discussing the project with rose abruptly she killed it and the implication is that Harvey Weinstein was actually pulling the strings here and whether Roy Price was trying to option the project Steve Harvey Weinstein was mentioned in it or if this was an effort to essentially buy her off in a manner in which Lisa Bloom apparently her for I introduction to Harvey Weinstein was when he optioned her book and said we're GONNA develop this for television and Lo and behold Lisa Bloom is then representing Weinstein and all of a sudden he had one of the prominent women's advocate attorneys on his side this is a tactic that seems to be a a a way for powerful people in Hollywood like Harvey Weinstein Roy Price to essentially buy out adverse party company desperately needed at that point because they were having financial problems she says she went to Roy Price and said this guy raped me and Roy price responded by saying no and that Harvey basically put Roy up to buying her thing to to find out what was in it if there is anything negative about him and meanwhile I will note that Roy price had tried to get his own girlfriend a deal a writer without any significant credentials at all at Amazon was told internally forget it that will never happen here it's going to be bad look for you and Harvey gave her a deal and when we reported this and asked about it the Weinstein Official Response was Oh yes we've been you know not done anything of great note at that point so again this is how it works yeah it's all funny until you realize this is part of a way ebb of efforts to silence potential accusers and it goes much deeper than I think anyone thought until these allegations have come out in the book and now the
