"You're going to have an actress who's going to have to look like. She's given the wet look all the time. There's probably a lot of discussions about how you make that. Look good on camera. And i don't know if they should have. They should have had more discussions because amber herds wig first of all cyst from the neck down in that like wetsuit. That was like moulded. I see why you got the park girl like you look good though. Signed hair up. What happened first of all. She does not look good with red hair. It's just like it. Just the whole look not work. It did not work and they had a misery. Have an eye for for good or bad wigs. Like usually when. I'm in a movie. I'm such a moron. I just forget that there's hair and makeup at all. What's this flake. Is that one of the worst wig situations for you jack. When as a as a moviegoer ono that's still chamara more in dire mad these corn roles that are like awful for more maybe like seen by larger portions of our audience. Now know how many of y'all seen tire fairy movies but Melik pfeiffer in eight mile where he has assembling excuse me mci pfeiffer in eight mile dreadlocks is another one. The girl that played The girl that played star. What's her name star. Fire in the dc. Many of them samuel jackson sported a few struggle hairpieces in his day. Elmo mcelroy those brave. Meaning i love 'em struggle whigs struggling though 'cause they might dislike but then you also have the fact that she swim around and it's like and you're underwater for a lot of the movie and you want that flowing hair because that was the first time that we saw aqua was in batman vs superman and just emerges from the ship and you just see it looks like a pantene commercial. Have the only walks and then he disappears you. What the hell was that. Show me more of the hair. It's like you get you get all of the underwater. Look but you also get a little bit of an eighties metal band vibe with a lot of the lands with a lot of the underwater action here and so i am all for flowing locks. Bad wig good good wig. I don't care. Give me if you are an underwater creature or half human whatever. Grow your hair out. Didn't they have to. They have to color correct. 'cause it's only may red amber heard week after editing and everything because it's not that red and they actually shouted it's bright. It's bright right. So how many of those ping pong balls in docks were on her hair onset. Whatever like we need to make these eggs strands. Get this darker lake. It's just it is bad it's supposed to look wet but it looked drought all the time. It's like what is who who another bad struggle wig Folks will remember this one. The kifri twilight the wolf. One taylor lautner. That wig is struggle wig. Remember this league. i remember this way. It's not difficult i. I'm passionate about this as well. It's because the wheel of time is about to come out. And i'm reading the books. I'm obsessed and rosamund pike. Rosamund pike's hairpiece. There are women that were wigs. Ever re day they have the fake scalp. It looms in. They know how to do the like the this part which is called the lace front yet. Not they look real. It looks real. Yeah how does how does warner brothers not invest or any of these big budget places investment and scowl. All those shows. 'cause all female weeks. They put homeward dare. "To connect to rosamund pike got a seri- of his son and then was able to talk to his mom again. I would have been felt like the reason why they kept that stuff with rosamund pike was it was just so good and she's so compelling so let's leave them in clearly. There were issues in this movie. I mean it feels like they wanted like an emotional story. Which i which i really. I'm like i get why this might have been cool like the idea that like. Oh this isn't just your classic sifi kinda shoot 'em up stuff there's like There's actually heart and emotion at its base in here. It's just a lot of it is being depicted by people who are representing themselves as surrey's so they're not facially giving us those emotions which is weird and is like you thought you were talking to this person. But you're actually. You're talking to this person. But since i don't even know that person that i thought i was talking to the reveals a little bit different. It's not like there's only so many times you can go like scooby doo. Rip off the masking bekaa. But if you don't know them before the surrey like the best. One is the james cromwell as being rains reveal is probably the best one but again being rams really only shows up for a moment in the montage and then when moment at the end and then it's revealed that he is james cromwell who is funding operation to get rid of the series of the world. And then bruce willis and and his big plan. James carnell turns out to be like the great villain both because he created these series but now he also is going to use the last remaining weapon that kills the series and their operators to commit mass genocide. So he killed. The operators to that was his plan. Okay right okay right because he says the only way to kill the addiction is killing avenue until the moment is like. Why didn't he just wait a couple minutes longer before taking that size news. I feel like literally. He was minutes away second. He just do it. What did he do himself. Because he's just like gobble gobble the suicide pill and then but then like the his. Why did he exactly. Why didn't he see his plan. Through to fruition seconds away. But then bruce willis doesn't at the end. The i was kind of confused like what the debate was because the debate was aborted. It and all the series all the series live. Kill it all the series die but the operator stay alive and then it's like a new utopian. We get to see the what happens after that. But the guy the operate the the guy who plays god the the guy in the meets bag the meat bag and that seems like jewett like he was. he wants to save the surrey's he wants to save the series which i was confused about because he's a meat bag when he wanted just but he works for the fbi okay. He's he works for the fbi. I think and his whole job is predicated on the series. Allow him complete like he's basically able to see through the eyes of every surrey so he's able to sell that rape in real time the ass so he's a he's exactly so he's able to do so so the series allow for pre like kind of like a lot of shady stuff on the police side. The series allow people to behave not great. This like i think what we're watching the movie is everybody's cool with surrey's right everybody's coolest except for the prophet and the anti serie kind of human liberation front or whatever they're called And they see victims giving these speeches and you. There's these montages were bruce willis is hearing the prophets speak. And it's all landing on him. He's starts to bad. And so we need that final beaten. He says okay. All the operators are safe. Nobody's going to die if this bomb goes off. Basically in the guy's like yeah but all the series will die. Bruce willis makes the choice. Let the series die. the cromwell was right surrey's of ruling into our lives as human beings. We're not we're not living our lives. We don't that final moment of everyone taking off their steam punk classes isn't going like who am i like you know you don't be you see them all walk out of their houses and look at the series on the ground and so forth. I mean. i was surprised that there weren't more consequences to everybody being detached from surrey's eat like i expected planes falling from the sky thing. We saw a couple of cars crash right. and listen. there's a major cleanup. Like someone's gotta get tear so many series so many government pile by the way. The way that the wizards exploded didn't seem like they would be like. I guess my issue is like and what's the south of scientists and fixing these series for sure. I mean look you know. Look for every chroma. There's another cromwell that's what i always say. Oh i think. I think this culture is is gonna be almost immediately. This is a bad plan. I mean luckily if if they're going to compare it to an addiction some new dealers is gonna come along and be like. I've gotta remember series. Guess what we got more to me. My really be like version two is let that siri go to work for you and then you can go to the club dressed as a duck and figure out whatever you wanna do like you know. Let's yeah let's just like have fun like let's break some rules here like you know like they were there. Those two series that we saw on the subway. And i think that that was supposed to be like I thought that was supposed to be like you can be anything you want in this world. They didn't look particularly human totally wrong on that level of wish film. I think that. I mean it was an interesting concept like oh what are beauty standards. Are you attracted to people. You think you're attracted to when everybody is good looking like that right okay. An interesting idea like everybody's achieved what in our culture is unachievable which is like the meeting. The beauty standards then. Then what is that here. Beauty standards for bruce willis Bake that guy he and his wife chose the same faces embodies which was in rod mitchell comments on it when she meets him ryerson right. She says oh. You're surrey looks a lot like you like. And she's surprised like oh that's not normally the case that people's surrey's so closely resemble their actual selves. You know and the pawnshop guy he's like well what i can take this down. I can make you younger. I can make you this. i can make like. He's he's he's up selling him on all of the kind of surrey ways that you cannot be trapped in your actual cell should we. We make a shirt for the show like that. Just don't ask me ask my operator like some sort of there is there. Is there a t shirt. That's like my operator is a meet bag. See that. I think that that's good or maybe there should be a surrogate and the other says meet bag. That's good too. Yeah just a whole line of clothing. I almost feel like it should be an outline of a person one of which is like very symmetrical and normal surrogate and one. That is like a normal person's face or something like and then it should say operator like it should almost be like you know you should see the kind of before and after. This is a very complicated shirt. But i'm into at all Well anyway i think. I think there's a shirt in here we will. We should take a look at that. And i gotta say obviously. We had an opinion about this. We the people out there with a different opinion. These are now second opinions. This person recommends a tell me jay sekulow.

How could we what we write the names of foreign be fifteen minutes long. Okay so onto the advice. Portion of this i think so i think you're framing withholding your this post smart of the relationship as a way of withholding holding your power. But i actually think that it is prudent of you to to hold off on this right now. Because i think like withholding yourself might hurt him. But it's also good for you right now. Because i think like you don't have enough distance from this relationship yet to actually be able to accurately know what you need to get out of the postmark conversation. With this person i agree. I think i think like i for someone that you've had like a really beautiful experience with it can be worth it to sort of honor. That was something in person. Especially because you're you know what. I think i think time will help. And and really like when you're not feeling like blackout angry about it. Then you can do it like i. I do think there's something to be gained by closing the loop in person. Especially if if it even if it's just you saying like it was really fucked up like to this person's face and like making this person sort of reconcile with the choice that they made two and a meaningful relationship in a really sort of disconnected nasty way and it sounds like they regret it so i do think that's good. That's not enough but you can tell them that you can say like glad you regretted it but that's not enough. I'm mad at you. Here's this like take some time right out what you want to say. "The twenty fifteen series scarlet which that series of vision quest which was back in the west coast of vendors and now actually onto vision and the scarlet witch which by the way why isn't that scarlet witch vision. I mean it tells you right there. There's a lot of garbage comics all this. I don't love all that. I think they're adapted comex so it's a great little way to get clues into all of this. I will say the vision twenty fifteen contract and the scarlet witch twenty gene. Comic are actually really. They don't tell you a lot about what's going to happen in the show but they're really committed to those characters and their grief in the same way that the shows drawing from so. I'd recommend those dark as faulk which the other thing i like about the show. It was like a real Darkness to it. That i think is captured in this connex west coast avengers. Skip anything like that. "Radioactive is a new biopic about Marie Curie. The power of science and how that power is used in unforeseen ways. Both good And deadly. Marie Curie discovered polonium and radium and her work deepened our understanding of radio activity. Those discoveries lead to medical breakthroughs, but they were also weaponized radio activity into bombs polonium into what's been called the perfect poison. Rosamund Pike plays Marie Curie, the scientists who was the first person to win two Nobel Prizes in radioactive, which is out now on Amazon Prime. She joins us now, Rosamund Pike. Welcome to the program. Thank you, Layla. Thanks for having me on the show. We should start by saying that this movie was one of many with delayed release is because of the global pandemic. How does it feel to have finally have it out in the world? I'm very excited because I think there's been a huge rise in people's interest in science. I think people are suddenly very, very curious who scientists really are. Who are these people who suddenly hold life in their hands? And I think it's a very exciting time to bring out a story not only about her fear woman but also A very strong subject matter. So what did you learn or know about Marie Curie before you took on this role? I mean, her work was complicated As you mentioned very scientific. I'm sure you wanted to embody it. Understand it. How'd you do that? You know, she was really little more than a name that I recognized If I'm perfectly honest, she discovered two new elements on the periodic table, first polonium and then radiant when she realized that these were both unstable elements that could admit raise without having a chemical reaction, with another element taking place. Most chemical reactions involved the meeting of two different substances. I started having chemistry lesson here, which was exciting. You know, as a female in film. Historically, a lot of my preparation has been involved. Getting myself physically fit, and it was a really refreshing change to be having to get myself mentally fit. So what surprised you most during your preparation? I mean, it made me realize what it costs. You know the cost of pursuing one dreams so wholeheartedly. I could almost say that the discovery or the Bertha's itwas radium was more significant than the birth of her in Children. I think I mean, when war broke out, I know that the first thing she did was take a precious gram of radium in a lead box down to the south of France, where she thought it would be facing Paris was formed. Wow. So you know, it really was the most precious thing in her life. And then I didn't know that I'd meet this wonderful love story that I found myself so taken up with on very, very moved by. On to the point that I really missed Pierre and Marie when we finish filming so that the love story between her and her husband, both scientists, you mentioned the sacrifices that she made for this discovery, but it took a toll on her health on her husband's health. On her Children's health. Why did she keep going? I think you know the driving force of all scientists. Curiosity, isn't it? You want to see what happened. I think she started tohave adorning and inkling that there were ill effects on. Obviously we see her racked with uncertainty over whether radium was responsible for Pierre's death. We will never know in. It was one of those heartbreaking questions that remain unanswered. I don't she ever got over him. I can look at any photograph of her and know if it was pre Here's death. Laughter. Grief is etched in her face in a different way. You know, I think like anyone who died so deeply into their craft, they sort of Sacrifice themselves to it, and you put yourself in harm's way for what you believe in. The doctors on the front line of this crisis, you know? Yeah. You've been lauded for your resume of complex female characters from Gone Girl to the war journalist Marie Colvin in the movie, a private war. What attracted you to this other, Marie? Funny that they both came into my life a similar time. And I felt that they both taught me and sort of moved my work on because they both sort of stayed with me. Very profoundly. In what way? I think the lives were so complicated, brave, difficult, challenging. They had sorrows. They had sadness and I think I took it all on took it all in and I will became quite confused with my own identity. I mean, it's sort of partly what you're aiming for, isn't it is to lose yourself in the character that you don't want to leave this stuff completely. They certainly both teachers and they were both uncompromising and I think you know I am to be uncompromising. I am toe, you know, make decisions that have just based on By an understanding and I try not to be swayed by other people's opinions in general, but it's very hard to be is true to that principle is that one wants to be You know the spy OPIC really looks at the struggles. Marie Curie faced as a woman as well, carving her career, her life's work, and this was directed by a woman margin Satrapi and your own interest in playing Strong complex women like this Was that a conversation you both had early on. That was something you really wanted to highlight the sexism, the discrimination she faced. No, In fact, quite the opposite. Really. We wanted her to just sort of own equality because I think She was in a way, quite selfish, So I think it would be slightly wrong to say that she was In some way and ambassador for other women. I think women have certainly used her on DH celebrated her as a woman to emulate, but I think she was very single minded, maybe even narrow minded. She was always seemed rather this interested when people pointed out that she was one of very few women in the science faculty, I mean, it seemed almost like exciting, irrelevant to her because she saw the faculty more is sort of, you know the best scientists No matter whether they were men, women, I mean, certainly Margene and I both had a vision of her is quite an unruly element that does not behave is it should decide radium. Andi was such a more interested in In really pushing how challenging we could make her how much we could make her not conform to traditional standards of femininity, and I was really given the best leeway. In doing them. That's Rosamund Pike. She stars in radioactive streaming on Amazon Prime Now, Thank you so much for speaking with us. Yeah, thanks for the interview..

"That's the thing you know, I always have very self critical. And, and I have I always want to do better. I analyze myself, and I'm quite hard on myself. I don't come Pat myself dollars, but I did have high standards. And if I feel like I'm not hitting it knock going as far as I want. Deep is on them. You know, I give myself odds series to clean overly. But so but I also think it's very important to, to, to kind of not be too ego, you know, to, to not get too self sensit-. I don't go. I don't look at myself into monitor. I tried to stay in it with the other actors. And, you know, the scene is between me and you, it's not me me me me me, and how I look and how I come across you know. So it's, it's I think it's really important to keep a healthy view on yourself. And just like you know not not be too. It's not all about you, always, yeah. Even though it is. So it's this whole, you know, yes. I'm very self critical.
