Will the PGA Become the Golfing 'B' League?
"Do you think? Do you think that the PGA Tour in 2023? Will be the B leagues? No. There's still a more player. Just because of sheer amounts of players, like not everybody's going to go to the live tour, right? I mean, if everybody went to the live tour, yes. Yes, but I mean, I know Tiger is not in his prime anymore, but he's still going to play some tourneys. I would guess, right? That's massive radius. He probably will. Like it was a disappointing. It started off amazing. He made his first two cuts in those first two majors. I mean, absolutely incredible, but you know, we're going to see Tiger play with Charlie in December again or whenever that father something is and it's going to freaking it's such a tease. What's that? It's such a tease. Isn't it? Yeah, but I'm just saying. It's going to be like it's going to be like the highest rated event in all of the, you know, except for the majors, probably in golf again, because people want to watch it. I'm just saying that dude, that dude, single handed, he is the needle, like exclusively is still. And then you're going to have the Rory's and more call was. All these guys, whatever, all the guys that said no way in hell I'm not going. So there's always going to be enough of those guys. And then not every young guy can go to live, right? They're going to try to this eugenio. I don't know how to save his last name, but the kid from Oklahoma state, right? Sure, Kara. Yeah, whatever. He still had eligibility Oklahoma state and he took the cash and left. I mean, they're going to sprinkle in some dudes like that, but the young, young, young guys. Now with court ferry tour having more money and they go to Q school for access. It's because of sheer volume to answer your question, right? They're just going to have more players, period. In general, and they'll develop the players in their get better and then maybe you'll see those guys go over there, which I'm sure will happen. So do I see it as the B tour? I mean, not in the next 20 years or something. It's different though. It's totally different product. It's just totally different product, man.

Emotional exit for Woods, big chance for Smith at St Andrews

A rookie rises and Tiger crashes in slow-moving British Open
"Cameron young took full advantage of the milder early conditions to take the first round lead of the British open at saint Andrews and young posted a bogey free 8 under 64 hitting all 18 greens in regulation Obviously I'm happy with my start but I'm kind of excited to put that behind me and get to work tomorrow Rory McIlroy was also an early starter and at just two back after a 66 It's another good start at a major three in a row forming on and looking forward to the next few days Players champion Cameron Smith next after a 5 under 67 I'm Graham agar

Looking Ahead to the British Open
"I am excited to watch the British open. I love watching an early, early morning golf, especially if it's a major. We can talk about it. We'll do another because we're doing more pods. We can have like a little preview with guys that we really do think who are Pixar after this deal. You know, obviously Tiger is playing Rory didn't play this week, him and Tiger have been going around Ireland playing courses chilling. Shit, man. There's a stack. There's a stacked field. It'll be fun to watch it 3 a.m. or whenever the hell it comes on. Yeah, so it comes on. I don't feel like Xander schauffele is through three holes right now. Okay? And what is it? It's ten 30 over here in Texas. I feel as if 6 hours, I think, from Texas. Yeah, but I feel like I feel like maybe it's, I remember like the lead groupie and through 9 at this point, right? Or something. I feel like they finished around lunchtime. But anyway, no, that's gonna be a hell of a hell of a deal next week. I love watching the British open. Besides the U.S. open, it's my second favorite major, then the masters, PGA, whatever. But I don't think anybody stopping Xander today. He's got a four shot lead currently over katayama and Ryan Palmer are Fort Worth boy, but RP. Yeah, I don't think anyone's stopping the X man. But next week, does Tiger make the cut, dude, I don't think he makes the cut. I just don't see Tiger ever playing great golf again. I mean, I think he could probably make the cut in a major here or there, but it's going to be cold and you saw how he played when it got cold in Tulsa. Southern hills that day. I mean, it was a nightmare. He did everything it could to break 80. If it's below 70° and his body's just not working that
Fore the People's Picks for the British Open
"The guy who's in great form who's in great form is Xander. Xander is in is playing, he's back, I would say. He's in really good form. But this is what's tough about golf right now in bedding and all these things. Like, you can say what about what about John wrong? You know, what about what about Scottie scheffler? What about zealot tourists? Not even arguably really could have won the last two majors if he had one or two things for his direction. So I mean, there's a lot of shit going down, dude. I'm gonna say top Euro Rory. I'm gonna say top American, I'm actually gonna roll with sale Taurus. I think salat touris is gonna be the low American. I think and that's saying a lot because he got softly. You got freaking scheffler softly. They get him confused. You got Spieth squirrely British open guy who almost won the British open there the last time it was there when there was a playoff. So crazy shit,
Rory McIlroy Changes Tune on LIV
"Rory McIlroy comes out this week. Rory McIlroy, who's been one of the guys that's been the hardest stance on the live. I mean, rock solid PGA Tour or nothing stance on the live tour. He comes out this week and says backtracks completely like total one 80 and says eventually the PGA Tour and the live tour and the DP world tour are going to have to work together. What do you make of that? I don't know. I feel I feel for Rory, he took such a hard stance against it. And like any business, I think Rory is actually business minded in a lot of guys out there aren't. I do. Is this minded people change their stance a lot? Like, I've said a lot. I've had some beliefs in certain things that I've like, whatever, tried to do or projects working on, that I thought were shitty and ended up. You hated the list. Yeah, well, and then vice versa. And then vice versa. You changed one 80. You were worse than you were worse than Rory. You hated the live tour and we started talking about this thing like three months ago. Couldn't stand it. Well, I didn't want to, I don't want to say that I hated it. I just thought it was annoying because I was like, God, dang it. Like, this shit is annoying. And I was playing PJ tour of and I beat somebody so credit to myself. I was full of Peter toward that point. But people flip flop on shit, I mean, it's just like, and I don't know. And again, I don't even I'm not even going to start like a controversy or whatever, but and I'm not Rory's not going there. None of us think he's going there. But he must have Intel that there's a massive couple of names that are about to go over there. And he's just like, golf needs these guys. Like, how bad can golf be if someone's investing billions of dollars into it? That's not bad for the game. Is it bad for, you know, someone think it's bad for political reasons? Maybe they do. Does someone think it's bad because they believe in monopolies? Maybe they do. I don't know. But he's like, listen, this is probably here to stay and we can see that at this point. And let's just, you know, maybe a meeting needs to be had to see what happens. It's basically all he
Roy Moore’s defamation suit against Baron Cohen rejected
"Comedian Sasha Baron Cohen has scored another legal win over a former U.S. Senate candidate A federal appeals court in New York has dealt another blow to former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Rory Moore more who was an ally of president Donald Trump ran for the U.S. Senate in 2017 During that time he faced allegations of having pursued romantic and sexual relationships with teenage girls when he was in his 30s During that time Sacha Baron Cohen taped him in a TV appearance in which he used a mock pedophile detector that went off in Moore's presence More sued for defamation but a lower court ruled in favor of Baron Cohen noting that more signed a disclosure that barred him from suing the appeals court has now upheld that ruling A Moscow's Gabriel
Grayson Murray's Love Hate Relationship With Twitter
"Why do you feel you get heat for throwing and snapping clubs when other people just get a free pass? I mean, so this is why I don't like Twitter. Does I feel like I'm always defending myself, all right? Like I always look like the bad guy. You know, they got these 5 guys. Whatever, we keep talking about they try to paint this picture to these guys, like these really good tissues, whatever. This image of the tour. They always post pictures of Rory signing autographs or whatever, like all the rest of us are out there signing as well, you know? So I'm always defending myself. It makes me look like I'm the world's against me. And I don't believe that. I don't think the world's against me. So that's one reason why I got rid of Twitter, but I mean, I don't know. I think I'm an easy target, like I think people just, they know, I'm going to respond to them, so they want to say some shit out there and they want to get a little bite from grace and Murray, which I give it to them. So Rory McIlroy is not out there tweeting to these guys like what they're saying to him and, you know, I think it's cool to be able to talk to your supporters and haters, you know? At a level, they can comprehend it. Like we're all just freaking human at the end of the day. Like these guys that make all this money, you think they're invincible and not human and can't relate to the rest of the people. Well, that's bullshit. I mean, the world for the people pod, right? We can all
Jay Monahan Only Cares About the PGA Top Players
"If you are running this country, like this is true like liberalism at its finest, I feel like with Jay running this tour right now. I mean, how he does not care about anyone on this tour except for the top guys. And showing right now more than ever. I mean, the fact that he added these events to basically to the top 50 guys in the FedExCup for next year to play in all these guaranteed money events. It's going to be harder for guys the average guide to keep their car now. I mean, whoever is on that pack and who is an average player. I mean, let's take aurora. I mean, there's some fantasy. I mean, the guy has never had to now he's earned the right to be where he's at on the course. But he's never had to grind for his PGA Tour cards. So take a guy who is an average guy who might be on the board, and why aren't they like raising their hand and saying, what are you doing for us? Because as I can see right now, they're doing nothing. They're making it harder. And I mean, yes, we don't sell tickets Greece and Murray doesn't sell tickets like Rory McIlroy does, but at the end of the day, you have to look out for your whole tour. You can't just look out for your top guys. I mean, it's just like in the real world. You have to look out for the small business people. I mean, that's just who runs the country who runs the two door is going to be these small guys as well. I mean, yes, we are replaceable, but at the end of the day, we've earned our right to be on tour. We did everything we could to get there. And we're doing everything in our power to stay there, but you guys are making it way tough for for us. I mean, two perfect examples is the barbasol and the barracuda this year. They added 50 spots for European guys. It's easier to get in the John Deere this year than it is the
Is McIlroy's Pent up Aggression Aimed at LIV Golf?
"Look at Rory slammed his club in the sand and they think it's like, oh, it's just the U.S. open. He got a free pass. He passed, but I think his club is in freaking the bottom of Doral's Lake. Yeah. That's right. It is. You're right. I mean, Trump got it for him. And we haven't seen. We hadn't seen emotion like that out of Rory in a long time. And I think a lot of it's boiling over because of the Liv golf because of Liv and his and Rory stance on live every stance has been Rory stances. He's taken the PGA Tour and be like, all right, it's my turn to lead the charge against Liv. And I think part of that pent up aggression towards Liv came out at the U.S. open when he was playing so well Thursday, Friday, and then when he made that 6 from the greenside bunker on that one hole. And I think a lot of that had to do with him kind of being this torch bearer for the PGA Tour against
US Open Champion Picks
"Because we have a massive event this week. We have the U.S. open. In my opinion, the greatest event of the year, the national championship. We call it the world championship, really. I think it's the strongest field of the year. It's definitely stronger than the masters and the British open. The PGA might be close, but the players, the players in the U.S. open are the two strongest fields of the year. The U.S. opens on the hardest course of the mall. So I think the most deserving champion of the years this week, who you got. This is the U.S. open is always, it always brings somebody that's freaking pretty tough, man. And we'll see the USGA like, we'll just see if they lose their mind. We've had scenarios where like a shinnecock with Mickelson stopping the ball because it's rolling off the green. And then we've had some or Rory one like a congressional where he shot a million under par. So it's going to be interesting to see how the course set up. I heard it's a little quirky, not like a bad test or anything, but ish greens. Just kind of old school, a lot of dog legs, things like that. Sam Burns, I don't even want to call him a dark horse, like I'd love, I'd love for him to win. If I had to pick one guy, one guy, I would pick JT. I would just because him and bones, they won the last major and he's been absolute nails since bones took over for him. And I think he's at the level or the point of his career where he's focusing almost a 100% on majors only. So he would be like my number one guy if I could just choose one, but I like him and burns and then like a super dark horse, I don't know, man. Super dark horse, maybe Sam Stevens or somebody like that. Like he's maybe to make the cut. Wow. That might be a good idea. A good bed. I'm not saying to win and no offense to Sam. I don't know if you can win the U.S. open, but they have those vets to make the Cudi's probably plus 200 or something to make the cut. I bet you that's a good

"And I would be like, here we go. We're in it. We're in it now. Oh God. That sounds like my mind at 3 a.m.. Yeah. What do you think happened? What do you do? Oh God. All right. What's next with Andy? Well, this was I've been saving this one for someone with children. So okay. It's actually pretty surface. Okay, Rory, we got a bit of it. Okay. But I also have a very short non serious one. After. As the closer. Good. So this comes to us anonymous from an Instagram direct message. Hi, Naomi and Andy. I know you prefer voicemails, but I have, we once around, and I'm not a 100% convinced, I won't start crying. So here we go. My partner and I recently moved into a new neighborhood with our kiddos and has been so idyllic. There are several families on the street with kids. Our kids ages. So the street has been a constant bike riding rollerblading Pokémon trading party for the past two months. We love it. In addition, the lovely kids, in addition to the lovely kids, we absolutely adore the parents, a rare treat because I've had multiple experiences of the kids getting along, but the parents not and vice versa. There is one mom who has an absolute heart of gold. She feels like a soul friend, one that clicked instantly and the friendship feels effortless. She and her partner recently married both a second marriage for them, and they share also share custody of their kids from their previous marriages. So it's a fun flow of truly adorable, wonderful kiddos in their house. Okay, this is sounding good so far. So good. Our kids get along perfectly and our husbands even were starting to hang out regularly. It felt wonderful and perfect, especially with the past year of isolation and how difficult it can be to make adult Friends. I'm so scared of the drop that's coming. You're just lifting it so high the further we're gonna fall. Yeah, here's where we grit our teeth. Fast forward to a few nights ago, we were hanging out at her house and I observed her partner was being uncharacteristically disparaging. She had mentioned she previously has had to leave the house because, quote, he gets mean, and I don't have to put up with it. I wondered if he was displaying what he was talking about. My husband called him out on it, and he played it off like he was just being funny. Spoiler alert, he wasn't funny. I left with the kiddos because I was exhausted and my husband stayed behind. They're just a couple houses down and I'm an old soul with an early bedtime, so him staying behind wasn't uncommon. My husband was alone with her as her husband had gone inside. Suddenly, though her husband came out and screamed at her to get inside. It was such a sudden shift in the tone of the evening that she and my partner kind of froze. Her husband then grabbed her and started shoving her in the house, screaming at her that she is to go in when he does. Oh my God. My husband started to intervene and when her husband got in my husband's face and screamed at him to leave. My husband did calling me immediately. He got home very quickly and told me what happened. I called my friend, she didn't answer. I texted. She has her phone glued to her always. But no answer. We went back to the house and we could hear him screaming at her. She was also screaming, but it wasn't words. It was in terror, and she was sobbing. My profession is in mental health, and I've worked previously in domestic violence. Fortunately, their kids were all gone for the weekend, but I was terrified he was hurting her. I genuinely felt I had no option but to call the police. My partner and I stayed up most of the night terrified. Both of what was happening to her and that he might retaliate. The next day it was textbook cycle of violence, her arm was covered in bruises where he grabbed her, but she was going on and on about how he was the best and he was suddenly doing all the house projects he had refused to do for the weeks prior. He also reached out to my husband and apologized and invited my husband and do all kinds of outings with him. My friend talked to me about how quote some nosy neighbor had called the police and minimize the fight entirely. She doesn't know I heard her screams and if I'm honest, I keep hearing her screams. So my question, what do we do? They live down the street. I am genuinely concerned for her. I know people don't leave until they're ready, and I know there's nothing I can do to force it. I want to be a safe support for her if that time comes. At the same time, I'm not comfortable with my kids being around him. I'm also terrified of him finding out I'm uncomfortable with my kids being around him. Yeah. My husband is not interested in continuing a friendship with him and is attempting a superficial neighbor relationship. But she has already talked to me about doing a friendsgiving together and wants our family to plan a trip together. How do we navigate this where I can be support for her and also keep our family safe? Sorry for the novel. Truly just hearing Naomi tell me it's going to be okay would be everything right now. Thank you for the pod. I'm such a busy human, but I always have time for your podcast every week. Sister girl. This is the girl. My sister girl, angel. You're hurting. Okay? And you have good instincts. Both is just like a person and a mental health professional. It is going to.

"What I just experienced? I don't know if it'll show up in video as much as how it felt on onsite where for us we've never known how Rory felt. So I really want to hammer that home. We always thought that Rory didn't like us or thought that maybe we weren't the bees knees of golf, and was like, you know, I'm just going to let those guys do their thing and I'm never going to associate myself with them. I'm just too much. I'm too Rory for them. You know what I mean? For sure, always had that feeling. We've documented that on this podcast many times where I said, very fucking hates us. And then he just, for us to be able, the first words he said to us was like, holy fuck, that was all just wrong. He's the man and he showed up the first time he loves us. It was the complete opposite of everything we've ever thought. He showed up with such great energy just being like, he got out of the car and after he got miked up and he was just like, you guys ready to hit some bombs? Boom. We're like, this is going to be the best hour ever. And I said this a lot that day after he left, and it's the truest thing I think that Rory McIlroy could be a dick. If you wanted to be, he's certainly in that position. You kept saying that. He's got all the money in the world. He's got all the accolades. He's got all this stuff and he could be a dick, but he is the opposite. He's nice, he's conversational. He's open to hearing about how you feel about things. Like that makes that goes a long way in my book. When a guy is in a certain position to do whatever he wants, but instead, he acts a different way. He's very nice and the whole thing was just fucking incredible. Dude, he did something to that day that really made it so much better, which is, you know, we all hit shots. We're all gonna jump in cards and then drive up and then kind of do a bullsh up in the fairway. And he literally just walked and was like, why don't we just walk, boys? And so we all instead of just carting around ourselves and then reconvening, that's where Frankie was saying like, we kind of had a podcast out of it, where for like three, four, 5 minutes where you're just walking up the fairway, just talking about life with Rory McIlroy that wouldn't have happened if you would have just gotten in his car and driven up there and then got out of his cart and been like, okay, act two scene two. Like, let's go. And instead, it was just now we're just hanging out. Why don't we just walk up the fairway? And it was, again, we're going to keep saying, like, we don't want to give it all away, which we don't. We want the videos to speak. We keep talking. We're just going to talk about every single aspect of the video. Right. It was awesome. It was so unbelievably awesome. So we put the picture how we couldn't help ourselves. We were smiling ear to ear beaming. I felt bad for the next player that we had because we all were just like, we hadn't gotten over the fact that it happened yet. We were still in Rory mode. Two still not over. Dude, the next player we had I went to that player is like agent or whoever it was and I bumped him on the arm. I said, we just got Rory dude. Another golfer. I was like, I was like, man, we're all reeling right now..

"How old are you catherine while. She's about to turn thirty thirty. Yes that's helpful. Sorry she did. Say i. I just the grandfather. I don't know how old the grandfather is. Let's say eighty well. They were married sixty three years. So i would say probably at least eighty three. Let's say eighty five okay. Okay okay. twenty you're going to do the rebate. Remember i why remarry but if you're going to read you're gonna start dating again. I think the whole family has to back up and go. There is very limited time to heroin. If you're in your eighties whatever you wanna do. I mean. I wouldn't recommend a high like a bad for your heart drug but also the low three year grandfather felt for your grandmother is present in the love. He feels for this new person. There's only one. I would also say it. So what she would want. What's it's so. The love is so baked into the fiber of his being serious as a person. That's right he. Is he coming another entity sharing the love that he had with that with this woman. This guy could be. You know this guy. Here i do. We don't know. Rory picturing grants reno clint eastwood right now. We don't know we've never had shitty grandpa we've had county grandma we have had a. It's really a question of compassion and love is is being able to recognize yourself in another. So that's a good exercise for katherine katherine is like imagine. That's why i ask how old she is. Imagine when i say codependence. I don't mean it in a bad way but when you've merged with someone in your life threes relationship is relationship it only exists in relationships the fear that he feels when there's no one to give and no one to imagine how lonely it's beyond lonely. It's not workable if you've been with somebody for sick. He probably forgive me. If i'm using this. But i would imagine you would feel insolvent as you that you would feel like i also can we just say just from a pure human human touch of another person the like. I think that. I think we might have talked about this before. And i'm sure you've had it we've all had you had a point in your life where you maybe looked up from a bowl of cereal or you came to pick them up at the airport. Whatever you look at your parent and you went. You're just a human. That's right yeah you the deity that they are when you are young and that's good. You need that because that's how you know. Do not touch that thing or go. Down that w- alleyway or whatever but like you you you go. Oh you're human. So i think that on some level he will always be your but he's still a man and a human man who may go. I really love a for maybe for him. It's a woman for his fist. Fuck shit yes but also maybe he just needs to get laid. Can i just like do you know what i mean. They got divorced. Sorry go ahead disagreeing with. I'm just agreeing. I wanna hear it when i got divorced. I was like big deal. I'll just jerk it. I really like okay. So she left. I'm king of the castle. And i'll just jerk off whatever i want and then about a month of that i was like it's not the same. It's not meaning you think when you're young and dumb that it's just about more gas you can give yourself an orgasm but like you're saying tons connection and when he's in grief we don't know i don't know i'm trying to imagine and that's what i think we're all encouraging her to do is you can imagine what it would be like being with somebody for six years and losing them. You're you're you're sandra bullock in gravity. You're floating in nothing. And if he's gray. Reverend lucky enough blast enough. I'll even say i don't like religious implications but like the gift you to find another body in that abyss hold onto them. You should weep with joy for this. Meme also just and i don't. I'm not saying you're not and it is so you just realize i was sounding judgmental to catherine too. So thank you. I don't hate catherine. I think she's a bit of catherine. Clearly your bow. She's lovely lady. She's yes and she's part of the commute. Yes that's how i pen pal. Yeah so. I'm not judging her pan. How do i see my grandfather and a new context and she's only seen that entity that you were talking. Also when when catherine is in the sandra bullock best. She's reached for her grandpa and grandma your morning to your morning to and you need your grandpa and we're saying you. Hopefully you can find a way to remarkable. There's certain things that you are grieving for instance for catherine. She's had this this idea in her mind that the two people are her grandmother and her grandfather and that what she has seen is not to individual people she is. Cnn grandparents to lose one of them. In what. I think we can all agree a the and the amended for him how he had to say goodbye to her desensitized That we're not just talking about the horror and also just the the the grandfather wanting today to move on it. Maybe there's reasons why they keep it secret because he's being respectful to the rest of the family knowing. Hey this is kind of a crazy thing or maybe. I don't really want to talk about what i want or why i'm doing what i'm doing and i think that her wanting her grandfather be happy. There is an element that she's not grieving the loss of her grandmother but she's also losing and having to grieve. The loss of who her grandfather was saying i was gonna say a framing framing the context of a person into that. I would say more than it up..

We we have ourselves super hot air. Kinda goes upstairs to go to sleep in my grandparents bedroom because there's only room with air conditioning. At some point in the middle of night we now get thick of at some point in the middle of night. She just feels like i should go. Check on diane. I should go check on her. She goes downstairs bathroom. Door is open. Diane's all she sees her diane's feet on the floor and my mom has gone into some sort of medical condition that is very very bad and if they get her to the hospital they figure out what it is and i ended up being born but if she had not gone downstairs. I think i'm without being able to tell you the exact terms but we would have both died. Yeah and so. It's just this like ledger. Thing of like connie to this day there was just something that was like. It's perfectly cold in this room. But i'm going to go walk through this hot ash house just because something's telling me to go check on diane. Yeah and now here and that's it if somebody doesn't get up if somebody doesn't like go downstairs you're you're doing this podcast with probably somebody maybe funnier at times. But you're stuck. Nineteen hundreds even up to the nineteen fifties and sixties. Where your life she. I think he did. I was. I was just going to say like crime was so easy. Yeah yeah well depends. If you're you know obviously sherlock holmes you got a certain crime. Dna no like photo. Id's nope yeah cameras you got caught after robbing a bank. You wanted to or you're an idiot. Do yeah now it does. It is curious the evolution of of catching criminals which i think we're realizing now is not as high as we thought it was. What do you mean won't people's you know. In the argument of defunding. The police and people go well. Police now have in new york city of not been defended and they saw two percent of cases like a low percentage and they have quite a hefty budget. Yeah look at and everyone's listening and you're like well white a cop first off. What do you talk like the pax guy and second of all what makes you think. I am citing real numbers here right that on oneself. Someone posted a thing two percent as i can't if that's true as 'cause i always thought it's impossible to get away with any crime but the i get i realized well if you're very rich it's you can kill him. Do all it crime. It's not even crime it's business. It's called business right. But i'm also like there's obviously a million crime podcasts. And if you guys get one more year daniel gonna finally caterpillar into a butterfly and become a crime pen pals as we can only write us letters about crime but repels pretend to help attention pals but but my question to that is like well can can. I just got do a crime. And i'm probably going to get away with it. All these podcasts. Like it's still unsolved to this day. Are they all unsolved. Because for some reason. I thought they'd all get solved. I listen the bank robber and he only got caught because he confessed. 'cause you know you only got caucuses. Did that podcast. Well it is the podcast was. It's called the interrogation room and it's these cops they have this. Is this what about bat. Podcast where it's why don't these cops start releasing the interrogation room. What people would look that would crush crush. Are we recording. I don't want to give that away. No let people have that. Let the people have that idea. Rory titantic yes Do you guys have any family legends. It's hard to have like. I'm trying to think if i have one. But how do you follow up. That like i love those like an anyways. Now we're here. Do you guys have a story. The county you follow that. I don't have any family legends. Yeah stories you're like you guys member when we remember like in my family. There's the christmas eve where like you're going to think this was a bit you're going to you guys are going to think like. Oh you must have done. I'm not shitting you. I don't know if it was some combination of the noodles and the like the slickness of the plates seven people in a row in my family spilt spaghetti on the floor like entirely dump their plate of spaghetti on the floor. At a certain point it was re it became ribeiro rosemary. Who if you're a new listener. That is daniels. Wonderful grandmother Did she fuck and lose it. She kept me in like what's wrong with you. Did she make it yes she made. Oh god of course. She stabat stopped. we have seen. We have a picture of like four of us on the kitchen floor cleaning up spaghetti because it was the seven person and how. I don't remember as soon as the seventh person did it. The six person was we also have things. Thank god they they dropped it. This is documented at my very first episode as a guest of the crab. Feast the former podcast of our two. Different ryan stickler and jason larson. But i talked about how there was a weekend up at the family. Cabin in wisconsin. Where we we had a goat like a goat showed up and just spent the weekend with my family jordan. Michael jordan was there. And i know you mean kobe lebron all we just evolve and the goat was there the whole weekend and it was. It was like labor day weekend or as an extended holiday weekend. And you gotta go for four days that like like lobbed that stood on top of the grill a weber grill like jump up there and stand up there and then at one point ended up in the cabin reich. No the goat cannot be in the cabin and we named gary and it was guarantees that any legendary any part of you thought. That was the reincarnation of anyone in your family that passed away within like the past two or three years longer. It was like a like grandpa or and you're like that might be grandpa. That would be wild. That i i hold space for those kind of true potential. Yeah yeah it was great so that we do as otherwise. What is the and we. We talked about squirrel wizards. What what is that goats perception of your species and this location to be like. I'm going to hang out here for but what did it gain. Did you guys feed it. Wouldn't you go go eat. Well they'll eat pretty much any bird lettuce if you're doing it right okay. I just thought a one i. If you're doing it right. We do have a legendary story. It actually involves me in my family guy. I don't know if i've ever told you this so we came far too close to me. Not existing like me not even being here okay directly relevant to the titantic. My mom was pregnant with me as one does and helen. My mom's aunt she passed away. Helen was like a huge matriarch pillar of my family. I obviously never met her. Yeah they lived in michigan. So everyone goes to michigan. And i'm not. Do i think for like two weeks. Everyone goes to michigan for the visitation. The funeral it was like a mom to my grandpa for sure. Yeah so they all leave rochelle they all go there but my mom can't go. She's pregnant very close. Do and my aunt connie decides to stay with her and You know obviously stay with diane. So everybody else goes to no one of my family's in russia everyone goes my mom Forgive me for not knowing all the medical stuff but like something's wrong with her like she's very uncomfortable or she's sick or fever like she was. She was in bad shape so she goes to the hospital. Rochelle community hospital and ate. All i know is whatever was wrong with her. They misdiagnosed and they sent her home.

"I just happened to be right place right time with the right friend who that be I will say to for anyone who has seen it in his curious. We did not rehearse any element of it. We did not know what each other would say. Outside of the fact that i was going to get a member of the audience to do to sort of cheesy hands than and he was gonna play guitar and all i knew was when he starts guitar. Get that ends member. And when he smashes that guitar get rid of that audience ever those were the only cues. Because you know you you do have to fall into that four to five minute range but i just remember being wildly nervous and we had done it enough times for me to know. Do not listen to what john is saying. You can't you. you will forget what to say. You'll start honestly you'll just start saying words that don't make any sense. I was like no matter. What forget him. Just when you hear the guitar that you're only q. Yeah but it was so much fun. So surreal and conan's intro of it is what really made the whole really sell Do you have a short story of an experience with a legendary comedian. Living or dead great question man story brain is the worst You know i i. I don't really have like a a story story or something. you know. Huge amazing or big happened. But i do know my very first weekend of doing an official comedy club weekend as a host was with with with the bobcat goal. Quit at the dc improv. And there's something. I love about the fact that it was this legendary name from these eighties movies. This who was a stand up comic and aereas doing a stand up comedy and just talking and meeting with him and being at the club. I'll never forget like i still do this. Because of that weekend that it was so it was so fun and he was so nice and just such a real person that it was like okay. You you've got some people you can look up to. That are doing it right. And you can try to emulate them and it's not like it's a story or anything but i am. One of those students lucky. I had a very early positive experience. That really pushed me to go. You've made the right choice in this. You know crap shoot of thank me. Oh can all fall apart. Maybe it's nothing but do you have a joke that or that. He thought it was so funny. That you you tried once or multiple and you're still think it's funny but the audience just never got behind it but you will go to your grave being like i am was right and they're wrong. I have a joke Had a joke where i would do an impression of an old woman standing on her porch looking for her dog. And then i would say and the dog's name is spicy. And i would just yell out for this dog Honestly not even. I don't even know what it is. But i am so certain that it is funny and i would do it in. Dc all the time in other comics or like it's so funny and sometimes people would laugh but overall people were like he needs to not do this as a job because if he thinks that's comedy he's clearly not good. It's really not good at what this thing is and i would just to their face be like now. This is funny. And i truly don't actually know why but i do know that that it is funnel perfect. "Money and then i will say getting into like winter of last year around december and i know that's a long time i stopped in march but i got to december and it really started to hit me that i missed it and i really loved it. I really love getting up there. And i think i was relieved to know that it wasn't my ego. It wasn't be like adoration. It wasn't needing people's attention which you sort of assume that's who you are. You're like oh. I crave attention. And that's why i do this and unfunny so i'm able to do it. I've always thought that until december of twenty twenty rows like. I now know that i want to get on stage and it isn't to feed my ego and it isn't for them to adore me. I want to get on stage. And i want to tell a room full of strangers. What i think about the murder of george. Floyd and i want them to hear me and i want to get them to agree with me and i want them to laugh at what i'm saying and i don't wanna do it because i will make me feel good. I really wanna do it because that is a space that is actually a space that allows me to do that. Either i succeed or fail and maybe my opinion is right or it's wrong. But i think i learned in that in all those months. There isn't another space that allows you to do it. In that way. You know all the social media accounts it doesn't matter it you. It's not doing it the same way. And you aren't saying you're having to like posted in type and then it becomes a conversation this others like no. We're not here to discuss this. I am telling you what i think and then i will move onto the next topic and i think it just maybe reconfigured for me in my mind. The power of what. It means to have spoken word as a as an art form in a craft. That's really interesting. Because i really not expecting you to go that way in that answer. It's what but what about what about it. I mean like you know. We talked about a lot of what you try to do with your standard terms of your relationship of how you in. The audience are connecting. What is it about stand up. That is a space. Where i mean you believed changed either either not necessarily like grant. Social change can happen by one cent up show but you believe it is a rare space in which people's people do come and are able to be opened up. What is it about. What is it about how you approach it. How what is it about how it audience approaches. What is it. i think it's i think it's exposure to it. I think it's that you know. I grew up in in greenville south carolina. Which is obviously in the bible belt. It's in a state that about the allstate's don't have this but it's in a state that has a very openly historic racial past. It's definitely not a that is like this big city. That is like widely diverse. It's maybe not what people picture. When they picture of the south in the south rarely picture it worse than than than what it is but it also doesn't mean it's better is not as necessarily good. I think i think about who i was when i was nineteen and i don't remember that person and i don't know that i liked that person if i met that person on this dudes fucking annoying. I don't agree with his politics. I don't i think he's made racist jokes. I think he's behaved in a homophobic way. And i now know as an older person. It's because i had no exposure influence outside of the bubble. I lived in and so i sort of look back and i go. I know outside of you know. I know i didn't hurt anybody i go. I forgive your misinformation younger. Rory i forgive your faults as an older version. Because i'm proud to say you aren't that anymore. You moved and you changed and you grew. And i think i see that in audiences. There's no way three hundred fifty people show up and they're all good people but also none of the one hundred percent good and it's like well. What are some of the general things were. Maybe there are some people at this show tonight. I can plant a seed where they're just willing to see something from the other side because sometimes that one thing changes all the other things. We don't have to cover all of the topics but if you can just say the right thing in the right i really believe 'cause i'm a product of it that you something really can plant in their mind where they go. I've never oh my god you're right. I never thought of it that way. I never looked at it that way and i. I've sort of always felt that way. But i will say the pandemic really showed me like. Oh this is powerful. This isn't this isn't have to be abstract. You can tell. It's not a song with lyrics that maybe are like. Maybe you get what i'm trying to say. It said metaphor. i'm on stage telling you exactly the fact so that there is no mincing of words and i you try to figure out. How do you talk to someone who disagrees with you. And i've seen it. I've done it in in shows right talked about my more liberal ideas with a very conservative audience and they've laughed and i've just did there going. Why would you laugh if you didn't sort of know what i'm talking about. You know you said that you experience it their jokes by comedians. That you feel like changed your perspective. I don't know if it was. I don't know if it was specific got jokes. i don't know if this was originally. I will say when i started. I was so obsessed with david cross. Who did make sarcastic jokes. Where he was talking about it and also he grew up in south and he was talking about Things that i understood. Because i also was from the south and i also saw in him a person who doesn't seem to be the stereotype of you know remembering the you should be dot that that when she southbound necessarily like that but i saw him a comic. Who was that way. And i was like agree with his sarcasm but i agree with that. I think he is supportive of everybody and he's very open minded and i just i think i'm attracted in the special. You say you hope to do this at carnegie hall one day and regardless of the career ambition aspect of it. what is what. What is this sort of the sort of like ambition for both you as an artist and for comedy as an art form that what you're doing is a carnegie hall type thing. What what does that meet tier. I think a little bit of it is the challenge. I think a little bit of this is hey. Here's the end of six nights. Let's say something that sets the bar so high that i maybe i'm like well. Yeah let's maybe try to do it. Because i said that i would kind of like making a promise to your to yourself and also i think that there's this parallel this unintentional parallel that i love when bob also talks about putting down the first tone of the thing that you can't see. Yeah yeah and then it's truly unintentionally. I didn't know that he said that. I didn't know anything he said in his interview. And so we started cutting it. And i think i was just naturally sort of Sort of doing that. But.

"And save money to buy things and have a house in a car in education but at the end of all of it and everybody who even pushes you to do those things and tells you you're there are teachers who tell you that's what you should do and there are parents. Tell you and then at the end of your life as you age they go well. Life is just about being happy and you go. None of my foundation relates to any of that because at no point does anyone ever take kids aside and go. Hey the point of your existence is to help others and find happiness and you'll more than likely find that happiness by helping people find happiness <hes> well no because there's no money there's no taxes in that. I know we are a part of this. This system that i think is is not there's nothing natural about how we live our lives ever in the system is so giant and so big when i see people who have some live their lives cbs against the system i am so impressed by their called freaks and weirdoes and they're called lazy but there are people who are like now. I live out on a farm and i just i'm able to grow food so that's <hes> i i'm able to eat the food that grows so why would i go to job people like yes. How many people what percentage percentage of people do you think live on this planet. Go you know what i love my job. There are people who do we love our jobs. We do but that like. There's still people think we're not just be with yes exactly clearly but we were when we started this yeah and the only reason i love my job because i got into my job not because i thought that i was ever gonna make any money. I just ended up getting too so i'm lucky to me. <hes> that is the american dream and that american dream is not available to most people. It's not available to must be a lot of people think oh. You didn't achieve the dream or you're not trying to achieve the dream. It's not available for most people to achieve that dream. It's not there isn't an option. That option option is you're born into poverty. Good luck getting out of that because the system set up to keep you there. There's and there's no way out and when you go but i just want to be happy. It's good good luck because your happiness and it is there. <hes> your happiness will greatly require you to rewire what you think this is and where you you are and more than likely have to find your space in some place where what you want to do you somehow discover it because there are so many people that live in poverty that don't discover what their passion is because given their their situation there never even exposed to you know what i mean like if i grew up in poverty. I don't know that i would know what stand up comedy was. I wouldn't know about fucking podcasts. I would know about so many things that i am obsessed with <hes>. Do you know what i mean. <hes> going off on ra rant rant rory retired. I hate when i what i love is ranting good. What i hate is. It comes comes through my brain so fast that i can't formulate in my mind clear thoughts yeah but it's it's a show worked up. Hey i'm sick so i love that you talk to that much because i did after after dude i could keep going. I think education i i. I know it reads talking about here. I think education as i've aged is the most important thing when you can give another person not just a child.

Batting's -iety and depression and you're working with the doctor. You have medication. I don't take any of that lightly but i do think just in how oh you treat yourself and what you think of yourself. That's that's the start of a lot of things. It's not a cure. It might not change anything but i think calling yourself. That was weird fired. If what if someone fired at that loud they just didn't care. Would you respect that or would you be like jesus christ. "I would love to hear your unbiased third party. Ah i would love to hear from an unbiased third party. It was pretty cathartic. Just writing this letter love you guys and loved the show p._s. Included a picture my wife and i took with dan dan and one. I took with not dan you see what i mean. You could see this roar like try and then this is a good looking couple right and then look at the picture he took with a guy that he says is not me. It's just a guy who vaguely looks like me. This falls under the category of like if you shake your head or don't have hair you all look the same. It's like if you in all share one i do. That's good yup. That's that is a this is why you're the comic and he's a good letter writer and a great dad. Okay okay rory. Where do you wanna go. I am i being selfish for wanting to me. That's going backwards. I don't think so. I don't think so wanting to have children at all or one have more kids or or no kids or whatever that is a discussion between two to people on a packed in oak in this scenario okay. That's a discussion between people and i i could see i only see his argument and this i mean i could see hers if this was their first kid sure her and maybe she wants two or three right. I get it one hundred percent. I'd say that's <hes> you know i. I don't have an opinion for you because i don't know what to tell you right but but knowing that that would be a six here. It's just it's too much. It is too much too you much. I would say well. Here's me ernie that mean obviously for him to maybe right roses letter but why not the secta me is a damn. I'm good idea they will. They say like we make decent money. We live within our means and i think what he means when he says that as we live within our financial means but what about like just your energy and bandwidth means. You seem to have a lot of things that you like. Doing you have kids that are off easing like adolescence and you have another baby on on the way. Make sure that you and this goes for anybody. I'm not telling him what to do but make sure that you when you evaluate having another child and you want to plan it out as you. Ah i think sometimes the best scenario you can do that. Is you ask yourself. Do i have the bandwidth for this energy do i is that something that is is going to like. Keep keep all of us happy. Do you know what i mean yeah and that should be a big fa- you factored into your financial life factored into your energy life and your your time yeah. I gotta go with <hes>..
