"Equality. And Ed Ronda von che sharp. She's founder and president at the women's institute for science equity and race. Well, she believes it's important to increase black economists in the workforce. So here she is with Bloomberg's Matt Miller and Paul Sweeney, explaining her recent Bloomberg opinion piece. First of all, thank you for having me and before I talk about that, I want to make sure that we're clear on some definitions because there are economists who are economists by their job titles, but aren't PhD level economists. And my article is focused on PhD level economists who are a couple of reasons. One, they are the folks who educate undergraduates because econ departments primarily hire PhD economists. So if indeed you believe that if you see it, you can achieve it if you don't have faculty members who are black, then you may not see it as a possibility for you. And I'd also like to acknowledge a black economist Rhonda Williams who was the first, I think, black economist that many of us think about who did LBGTQ issues. And I think Ron has been dead about 20 years. The international association for feminist economics gives a prize called the Ronda Williams prize that that is to acknowledge women, feminist scholars who are both activists and scholars. And so I just want to make sure that we're clear about economists are those with PhDs, not those whose job titles. What I would consider incredibly important, Rhonda is students need to get a diversity of opinions, right? And viewpoints. And if all of their professors in econ or in anything, frankly, are just white, then they don't get that. They don't get to see another perspective. And I would think it's key, especially to better universities that pride themselves on giving a better education to provide students with that kind of broad based education. So I agree and disagree. And so the ways and I agree is that ideology the way that you think about problems are absolutely important. And we want to have all of our students see a diversity of that. I think where I disagree is the assumption that any one of a particular racial group provides a particular perspective. So when I advocate to have more black economists and this is also a good point for me, time for me to make this point in that some of the emails that I have received have talked about Asian economists and that if you look at the data for economists broadly, we are not producing many economists who are American born or permanent residents across any racial group, about 62% of our economists at the PhD level are those who are temporary residents. So we do a great deal of, I would say, exporting that education. So I just want us to be cautious there that the reason that I want black economists is partly because there is this thought that there's an ideology, but I think we're the biggest difference is it's a lived experiences that black economists bring. And while some of that can have some commonalities, if you're a low income or first generation student, there will be some shared experiences. One of the things that we know in America is that people don't assume that whites are poor. They don't assume that Asians are poor. They assume that black and Hispanics are more likely to be poor because that's so much of what we hear in the rhetoric. So it is more about lived experiences to approach the problems the way that we're all trained is essentially the same. It is our lived experience that may alter how we look at a problem. So Ronda, here at Bloomberg, we're all about numbers all about data. I wonder if you could just kind of put in context, the percentage of black PhD economists that are out there and maybe how that's trended over the last few years and kind of where you'd like to see it go. Okay, so there's sort of two ways to sort of think about this. Generally, when we talk about black economies, we are talking about them who's producing any given year. And that's about 1% we're talking black in general, black men tend to get the larger share of economics back to rates that are awarded than black women. And again, when we're talking black here, we are talking folks who are permanent residents or citizens. We're not talking international students because they don't show up in the data racially. They show up as temporary residents. When we think more broadly, I think our estimates show that maybe there are about four, about three to 400 black economists period who have doctorates and so that's not very many. But it is tough to really get a count on how many economists there are out there because once you get your doctorate, there really isn't a dataset that then tracks you. Meaning you could get your doctorate in economics and then end up working at a bank or doing something that's not really related to that, but you could have gotten your doctorate outside of the U.S. and then we know that often people come to the U.S. to get employment. So we wouldn't have a record of those who we would look at and typically say that they are black who have PhDs in economics. We don't have a way to track that. By the way, what is what is keeping these numbers so low? I noticed in your story that Howard is the only HBCU that has doctorate program in economics I think it's a combination of things here. One, if you have been reading the news over probably the last 5 years, there was a climate study done by the American economic association that just talks about the hostility in the profession. I think that's one, I think that there are the second is people don't know what economic is, right? And so they often get us confused with being a business major. I'd say that those are the two, the hostility and the departments and then I can say the department specifically. But in the profession, what's felt this hostility? And that people don't know what economics is. And so often what you will see is institutions that don't have business majors, particularly for undergrads, students will study economics because they think that that's business. And they're just not the same. It is difficult to get people to understand that what economists do is really to think about how do we allocate scarce resources in that broadly defined. And then how do we set up policies to incentivize particular behaviors? And if you don't understand that's what economists do, it is very easy to be dismissive of the need for economists and economic policies and as one email said to me and then you focus on the need for stem and not economists without recognizing that economists are going to set the policies that incentivize the investment in staff. And that was round of founder and president at the women's institute for science equity and race, with Bloomberg's Matt Miller and Paul Sweeney. And coming up, marriage equality and the special challenges in one particular part of Asia. And you're listening to a special edition of Bloomberg best, focused on equality. This is Bloomberg.

Alex Berenson: 'Science Is a Tool, Not an Arbiter' When Talking About Coronavirus
"Like this the endless fear campaigns are always aligned with two narratives uri and only two narratives Alex If you don't promote mask mandates and vaccine mandates nothing else is to be spoken of and they both involve the aggregation of power with people who benefit from it You mentioned Ivermectin you're a horse paster You mentioned antibodies all you're in it with big pharma You don't know where you Ronda said this to anybody These are all these are testable hypotheses Does this stuff work or not I would agree that and I'd say something else which is science is science is very very important obviously But science ultimately is a mechanism Science doesn't have the answer Science gave us the atomic bomb But it was a political and military decision to drop that bomb Science can tell us masks work or don't work or they work somewhere well It is a political decision to tell everybody to wear a mask It is a medical decision to say you're young you're at low risk from COVID I don't think you should be vaccinated even if there might be some slight benefit to you Because I'm not sure the benefit and I'm not sure the long term risk On the other hand if you're older it looks to us like the risk is a lot higher from COVID And so we think the vaccine is a better back from you Those science is a tool ultimately It is not the arbiter We are the arbiters through our political process and doctors doctors seem to have forgotten the medical process The first rule of medicine do no harm Think about risk first and they got to that because they did so much harm for so long I'm not talking about in our lifetimes I'm talking about in the Middle Ages in the dark ages doctors killed people They bled people to death They cut holes in people's heads It took medicine a really long time to understand that you could do tremendous harm in the sake of doing good And we seem to have forgotten that in the last few

"We all want to see that. Sure we do backup. There's a story here. How did we get here. I know you're thinking that remnants seems to be like the elephant in the room. How we got here is very simple. So let's enjoy the the drama along the way which is the back and forth going on right now between the manager of engano and dana so surreal fights over the weekend. Right quick timeline. No you know what let's back up. Even further and ghana wins the championship over steep. A and gano goes to the press conference and donald says. The only thing i want is to stay busy. Where does that statement come from. And ghana was named the number one contender after. He defeated rosen stroke. Dc and steep a are already signed. But they're in the future. Now we at this point in the sport have never had a number one. Contender identified that gives to sit out and wait win. The championship match is further out. This has never happened so that forced engano to wait until the championship match. Let these to get it settled. Then you've got the recovery period for in this case was steep bay and ghana's got away then you got to have a little negotiation period and god got away. Then you have the sign in the training camp. And ghana's got away so. I fully got one in ghana was talking about. He was rewarded for his good work with the number one contender ship inadvertently. He saw it as a punishment he didn't go to go to work. No problem learning lesson. But when donald says i want to stay busy i took him at his word. I took him in his word. Because of what i just stated so starts to be some quick dialogue about john jones versus in gano. John doesn't want to do it. Okay derek lewis. Who's the top contender. Had that win. Beat a come back from behind over curtis blades or not. Derek lewis had also defeated and ghana makes all the sense right. There was a major respect being shown to john jones. Even though we'd never fought in that vision look dude. You're really good at if you wanna come up here. We'll give you the opportunity but absent that falls to derrick. Oh makes perfect sense. I've stated for you. The obvious just reminding you how we got here. Something comes out from in ghana side. That he doesn't wanna fight derrick. He's not afraid he's not scared. It's not one of those little childhood playground moments. He what he wants to john. Jones fight can't get you john jones. Don't have john jones. Have derek lewis giving you derek lewis. We don't ever get a real clear answer from the champ. Timeout in ghana. But we do hear some rumblings that he's still going to do what he can do to try to hold on and get a different match that he doesn't want derek. We're hearing that. He was going to fight derek in july. And i know what you're thinking. July's upon us. Yeah right. i'm thinking that to which tells us that didn't get done and we know that derek was at the table. I spoke to derrick. I can tell you for sure. Derek was at the table. We heard dana. Who spoke publicly. Said that's the fight to make us fight. We're going to make so we know dana is at the table. But we don't have the fight so that tells us by default that it's on francis site. I have to lay out that order or on being wrong. It wouldn't be right for me to tell you. That francis didn't want fight derek. Because i don't have evidence of that and francis has never come out and say that. And that wasn't even speculated. We got to that interpretation by default of derek's at the table dana table. We don't have a fight okay. Dana comes out and announces. It's going to be surreal versus derek. Interim championship team. Engano throws her hands up. How did we get here. And now they've they're the offended party. By the way they are the aggrieved party which is a wildly interesting. Take wildly interesting francis. Stay with me guys. It seems like everybody got what they wanted. Except now everybody's pissed right. Welcome to the world of francis doesn't wanna fight on certain dates that's true. He's admitted to that. I don't wanna fight until september. Okay this fight is going to happen sooner than september so it sounds as though you can't be in the fight we're going to hold the fight. You don't wanna fight until september. You don't have to no problem. You can have what you want i now. This is dana. I want a heavyweight title fight prior to then i am going to go get it. I'm going to go do it with these guys. It seems as though everybody's getting what they want. And the one thing that francis i believe is missing is whatever. He does next against gong or derek. Lewis is going to be much bigger. It's much bigger now now. None of this was meant to be a reward to francis but none of it was meant to be a punishment either. Dana has a job to do which is to book fights on certain dates. It is his job. Had anybody else. Done what dana did. They would view themselves as organized and they do. Dana did but for some reason. Dana coke at the garden party. Put it in this perspective k. Fighter fighter doesn't have a boss fight runs his own schedule. A disciplined fighter will write that down and honor it whether he feels like it or not. That is how he will stay. Organized fighters going to work at at three o'clock on friday fighter calls his coach now fighter lined up fighter. Wrote this down fighter plan to do it but he went a little out of order. He hasn't yet told the coach so he calls the coach on a wednesday he says. Hey three o'clock on friday. Meet me at the gym. Do emit workout coaches can't do it. For whatever reason it does not matter. i'm hurt. i'm sick. I'm taking the wife out. It's my kid's graduation. Whatever the excuse like or not if he can't show up fighter still has to do the minute workout at three o'clock on friday so he does what he calls somebody else and maybe it wasn't his first pick but he calls somebody else and he will continue making calls all the way down to a teammate. Who isn't even very good at holding minutes but he will make it happen because at three o'clock on friday that's what he has to do. It's the exact scenario that dana had to go through.
A Bold Eastern Conference Prediction for 2021
"Right. Okay, let's go to the East and I Toronto have they fallen out of your thing. Now. This is not a check it out. It's all depend on you mad though. They hate monkeys. I'm going to give it to Brooklyn. Number one, right number two. I think Milwaukee close to a similar winning percentage. We saw last year's. The number to write you know, but 3 I'm going to go Miami Miami was fifth last year people forget. So that's a big Improvement to go from victim. I just I'm I don't know. How long would you know about that even Bradley. I think that's a good addition bamas help games healthy. I think he maybe he makes another stride Tyler hero, I think makes another stride Off the Bench Duncan Robinson. I like those guys. Okay, I like those guys are gonna put me on and then you got Jimmy Butler. Who's there? Jimmy Butler still Jimmy, but then you lose Jae Crowder you lose trying to but I like I like Bradley with those shooters that I just mentioned or those scores because he's going to get so many open shots your next until I hear all your next to Duncan Robinson. You can't leave them open. Anyway behind that heart all the money in the world and you got Defenders on the other end. That'll just say like, okay, so all right. That's three four. I'm going Philly Celtics fan. I can't put Boston over Philly. I can't I see. Okay. You got your birth. No, Seth Curry, Danny Green who will defend his ass off on the other end. And then you got it back up for Joel and B-Max Dwight Howard show that he can be serviceable a second Main Service back, but not until you tell me what Simmons is going to do and how he's going to play. I can't I can't buy into that. You're the one who took back is going to make him shoot on that Rhonda Rhonda back is going to make him shoot and we just watch the exhibition game with him. And when he did he's going to marry me pull-up three-pointers. I think one he wasn't even here's the thing about it wasn't even involved in the office because social media will explode the moment. I mean for about 319 about my thing again with filling if I'm feeling I make that move but I think that's what I think that's what hard would be best suited and they you let Simmons Jersey And I think Joel embiid and hardened together. That's a better tandem angry much better time. I don't think I don't think there's another team in the Eastern Conference. That would benefit more than Philly. I just think again to my point the shooters thing which would be more sugar than he had in Houston. If you really think about it, Danny Green Seth Curry. Okay, Ronda Shooters, you got your well and be Turkish bath every once you can bang down low we can defend on the other end. I mean, they're good team here the window what that if if they can find that one piece and that to me that's going to be the key off. They do art and you're saying you say those four right now. What were y'all before? I just Boston here we go. Here we go. Boss is five six. And they're going to be right there to his Toronto Oakland agree. That far behind you sleep on Toronto 7. I'm going to put Indiana and all the depot is the biggest question Market, you know, he's he can talk to you far but I haven't seen them be the same old people since the injury when that dude was a bad man dropping 35, like it was nobody's business. That was all the people I was like man look out. He didn't gave something when we get Kyrie 38 onetime 38 people. Can I read but yeah, so that's a big question mark, but I'll put them in seven eight the last spot. I'm going to put I'm a while maybe now I'm glad they ready Atlanta is going to be maybe praying that could be really really
NBA championship odds: Lakers still lead pack despite quiet trade deadline; Clippers improve chances
"Did you make of the two teams? How do you feel about them currently? Wow Oh well I I I I stand by. I think the clippers have long time then the favorites. I think the way that the Lakers have played This season and how they've consistently consistently performed Dwight Howard has been a pleasant surprise. I think Kyle Kuzma with the injury to start off the season. He he hasn't really gun the things that they would like. These are very good contributor. But I think that the clippers with all the management and and Paul George Missing Time and some Injuries and you look at where they are there. Second Right now and for me. I think that the clippers are the best team right are they. Are the team that come at at the end of the day you're going to have to go through in order to try and win a championship. Even though the Lakers have the best record and it looks like the Lakers are GonNa have home court At at this point in time if it were to start today I still feel like you know the clippers. The team that you're GONNA have to be in order to win the whole thing Richard. How all surprising that? The rockets decided to go full monty. There Bison not only are we gonNA run small lineups. We won't even carry a gun on the roster who would allow us to run any sort of other type lineups. Well it's a at this point in time. If you look at Dantonio you look at Dell Maury winter. We've we've had they not gone all in on whatever they believe right. What do they have to lose? They've been criticized up and down and make pulled off some pretty impressive trade getting in Chris. Paul getting in Russell Westbrook. They've done some really really good things to pair With with James Harden James Harden continuingly improved his offense of game. But it's like I'm not surprised anymore. It's like they look at their team. And they're like the way we're structured right now. We're probably up for a first or second round loss What can we do to really shocked at? How can we try and change things up? And they made them moved. ooh They believed that adding Covington and giving up Cappella and they just WanNa go all small ball kind of like what you would see from the Golden State Warriors for for a time So I'm not surprised by it. I think that you know everyone out. There is fighting for their job. I think Daryl Morey I think I think You look at Dan Tony think these guys are low key fighting for their jobs so if they know that first or second round loss possibly could be the end to their tenure. So why not try and go all whatever you believe. Richard Jefferson hanging out with this year. Makes you check them out today. Five o'clock Indiana Toronto. ESPN mean is also in studio with us as well by the way. You're listening to Los Angeles. So Richard Let me ask you this about what Brian said yesterday specifically in regards to that game like he he kind of talked about their lack of focus on defense. Where do you think the Lakers can get better on defense? Can they do it. Internally you have again you have some talented players and I. I always proceed very cautiously when you have a game like that and everyone wants to run and talk about it and break it down like look Russell. Westbrook had a great great game. Houston shot the ball extremely well if you send shot the ball like that against anybody on any given night. They're going to win that game Even Dan Tony said in his interview. He's like hey I understand what we're doing is different It all has to do with whether or not these guys will buy in and tonight was a big step that they would have gone out and got him blasted in a D had forty five right an twenty six against them. Everybody in that Houston Rocket Locker. Room would be questioning. What's what's going on? They would be getting murdered by the media. It would be going crazy but they were fortunate to get that win in La which very hard place to play and now. Everyone's questioning the Lakers. Well look I believe this. I believe that the Lakers are great regular season team. I think that last night they should've stayed with the White Howard. You can't Anthony Davis if there's a difference between being like having your numbers be dominant and actually being dominant and physically dominant. Anthony Davis just. Wasn't that Anthony. Davis Davis is not an again. I hate to talk about. What player isn't because he is a million great in every anybody would want them on their team but he's not a guy that just going to low post blocks doc band you up and then go and shoot a five-foot Hook shot and don't because he worked position that's why he runs the floor so well so he can get that early early post up in a great position and it's harder to guard but in the postseason when it becomes half court basketball? That's what the Houston Rockets are depending on when it becomes a half half halfcourt basketball game and they can spread it out and just have Russell James go to work and kick it out to more shooters so everyone had their theory. It's just a matter of WHO's going to be able to impose their will Richard One of the things that That's happening for the Lakers. This year is that when Lebron plays the offense is is tremendous right there. They're one of the best offensive teams out there. But when he doesn't play when he's not on the floor I should say that offense becomes very anemic even when Anthony Davis was an. MVP candidate in his own right is on the floor. And it reminded me of the years in In Cleveland the three years that Love Irving and and Lebron were together. When Lebron didn't play that team wasn't just not a great team not wasn't just a below five hundred they were awful and given that you've been on the inside you've been on a Lebron James Team? Can you explain to me how that is. How talented players? Once you remove this one guy turned into a bad basketball team. I think it's it's style of play. It's continuity I think that's something that it's it's weird because Lebron James is always you typically been healthy. She's always played in seventy five or more games except for last year due to the groin injury. So it's like this is the guy that each up eighty ninety percent of like court time. So you're what what you're really referencing is like non-core time and even then comes the postseason. This is a man that's going to go from playing thirty seven minutes a night thirty eight. He's going to go up to like forty three forty four minutes a night. 'cause there's no bags and there's no practices for most of his energies just using games. So what you're really talking about is how do you play Good Basketball for eight to ten minutes in it for twelve minutes and that can be tough to find that continuity. It's tough because it's such a small sample size right and yes it's a small. It's a large sample size is when you look at how often it happens. But it's very very difficult for coaches to be like how we're GONNA play for this ten to twelve minutes when the broncos out of the game because when he's in the game everything's everything's perfect. Everything's runs great room and I think that's the challenge. The coaches have a lot of people are talking about Darren. Collison coming in and then interrogating him bats. That's the challenge and it's and it's been a long time. The bron James Challenge is how do we play that 'cause they had with Kyrie Kyrie is a great score but it's like when Bronco go out of the game game that was an opportunity for Kyrie to really explore and really play his game and get his rhythm will Kyrie's rhythm might not necessarily be the rhythm for the the other guys on the court and I thought knock on Kyrie. If just like broad had the ball handed Kyrie was basically a two guard. Then Kai Bronco Ga.. The game in Cairo would become the point guard. But this was an opportunity to get going scoring and maybe throw the ball into Kevin Love. which when you had the surrounding guys there wasn't an offense? There wasn't a continuity beauty for us to play through so there's good still Lebron and there's challenges to Lebron. I wouldn't even call that bad but I think this final stretch is going to be key but understand. He's going to play more minutes in the postseason. So you can't really say like hey we need to figure out what we're GONNA do when he's out of the game because that's just realistically he's going to be in the game Ormeau. Richard Jefferson with this year on the Sodano show on ESPN. This actually leads perfectly into my next question. This is good chemistry right here. These three guys. So Rondo they have Rondo. Problem is a net negative player. He's been that for seven seasons now but to a means point it falls off a cliff. He's usually usually the guy that has to lead that second unit. I don't think they can afford to play him anymore. To be honest with you what do you do if you do agree with me. What do you do with Ronda how do you how do you manage? Rondo at this point Well I I think there's there's two components there's an on the court and then there's a locker room right. There's a locker component and it's like a like say what you want about Rondo. He's a very dynamic guy on and off the court so you WanNa make sure that Rondo understands what your is your team goals are. I think Rondo is in a very different space. And he was years and years ago whether it was in Dallas when I played with them or leaving Boston I think Rondos one of those guys that in this moment right here they need to find. I I think that's Darren Collison being. It's so big the need to find one more guy that can compliment that second unit And so yes do but you gotta look at what can you do. He's a net negative guy adding Rondo very very rare. But no one really questions Kenney still play is he's still a contributor when you're just looking at the second unit and when I tell you that the six years prior that's one thing this year I I mentioned it early.

Pleasure being here thank you you for having me the trinity audio something a little different with boys than others. We've talked to on this show. Can you tell us what Trinity Audio Does and how the company all came to be so I will start like start up very gary was basically and a half years ago it was going down the elevator reading an article and and then I went to my car and to myself why. I can't Jason to an article adjusted winning. And how trinity all you started in a in the last two and a half years Started from thinking about audio but of course voice in goes out the perfect pair and perfect if a couple and we want to give the users of consume content give content greater the option to as we call it off defied you're content and they have content available whether it's an unusual way of engagement like taking on their on a web page or using your voice to activate that will give you the relevant economy. John Looking for which in Smart Speaker is the obvious one but we think that the voice revolution does not succeeds. Only in smart spirit exist everywhere. And it's ready for old contin creator and relevant full devices mobile web. Desktop doesn't really matter voices. He's everywhere yeah I mean that's definitely something. We're learning a lot on this show as a whole why do you think having a blog have an audio option matter so much criminal because he just makes sense. I like log. I'm reading your dog every time that you know I'm I'm getting injured Going over my emails. Stop doing the blogs that I like. But in some cases you know I'm driving my car in St one radio but but again breathe while driving or at least hopefully. Nobody's winning while they're driving so I can listen so it's not about like it. Why should I? It's like why shouldn't you. Why don't give your Yuzu way to engage where Joe content in any manner? Yeah I agree. I think it's good because you don't necessarily have to create another set of separate audio content. You can just whole from what you have. which makes a lot of sense exactly the and you know in our time where creating new content is expensive? And we know that the general whether you have a blog or whether you're big media company publishers struggling so give them the ability to generate more content easily cheap even maybe generate revenue out them out of it. It's the way to go. It's a win win situation for everybody. Now how does your company actually use the blog content and turn it into audio. I know that you have three options that you provide. Can you describe. Describe what they are and how they work. Basically we use a text to speech solution which is dissimilar for old manners will works in which basically what we do. We analyzed used textual park of specific log article whatnot and analyze what which one is the Textual audit than a which one is irrelevant relevant. Dan Basically we use the next engine to turn the text into audio and basically User woop rouse the page because if the puncture is working talking with us. He has a simple Java scrip- small player. It says listen to the article or any kind of writer has said that the obvious decided any takes a nuisance. Zuhdi article each worksheet mobile web mobile APP or seen Endesa of course but it's also at by the way they content a can. NB forced into his cue so it can be also explore discover on Echo Alexa. And we also offer the publisher Disability Lisa beauty throughout different APPs whittard silence defied podcast APP or whatnot so we basically look at textual. Content is the basic building block for publishers create audio presence and on top of that we are adding layer of voice a wetter. It's pushing into smart speakers way. It's basically the naval but not only also having a voice conversation over a mobile web or desktop a website. Good if necessary so I hope this like said the general for what will we award

"That's really cool. Well I know that after the meeting the Waterville Library which was such a great trip down Memory Lane for me I corrupt out that way even further west but at the time when I grow up and I was going to elementary school I was sparring out that getting to the library and what Abril you couldn't just get on your bike and go there because we live about eight miles away but I was rode the bike. No you know then you have to face up to telling your mother where we've been all day. Yeah I rode my bike to Waterville to go to the library yeah. That's GONNA go over big but we were so lucky because I don't know if either of you remember but the librarian at Waterville bill that was there for some what fifty years there's a portrait around the wall yeah she was there when I was a kid and she would ride in the book mobile and the Book Mopey a would it come to within a half a mile of my house out in the middle of nowhere you know and so I could walk to the book mobile and get a stack of books and then walk home with my books six and I wouldn't be gone that long and I remember Lois would sit there as you were checking your books out and she would say young lady. These books are awfully advanced. Does your her mother no. You're reading them properly. Read them while I'm sleeping she would you know for me I would take them home and read them and mom would read them and then the next time the book bill came. I take them back. It was about the way that <hes> we had this greatest exhibit at main library at had a piece of uniform. Arm that was like several thousand years old right next to an IPOD or next to a tablet and it was like called from tablet to tablet so great about that you're looking at this really old piece of like you know memory next to a brand new apple tablet and what's great about that it really doesn't matter the physical vehicle or the way you read or taken information. It's just to have availability of it and so for public libraries to have all these incredible physical recall materials but now they have all this <hes> access to immediate into research databases at literally the touch of your telephone your telephone on the Web <hes> through your laptop your desktop however you want to take it <hes> especially she for people are so busy to have access to e books audiobooks to film and music and anytime they want to have it no no return fees you know you'll never have any fines anymore because libraries which is great but on top of and when you have an e material it just times off your device so you can't lose it. The dog can't eat it. You know there's no worry about damaging anything and <hes> it's a really efficient way to be able to keep up with your professional development. Make sure especially as a business owner. You're staying staying up with the newest information to keep you competitive and it's really an awesome resource and so you know after our meeting that wow I think my library card must've expired about half a century ago or so and so I went to a different branch you know what I was going by and I went in. I said what if I had a library card when I was a kid but I have no idea where it is in the guys I will just give your driver's license Jason Issue it back together like are you kidding me like the kind of progress pass the public library when they become adults like maybe they use them for story times for their kids. They come in for something leisurely but they kind of forget what incredible professional resource claverie still can be particularly like you said we prepay a lot of these expensive resources so that the whole public the five hundred thousand people or so throughout the county and beyond can access access for free so just please <hes> for the listeners remember that this is an asset through your life over the lifelong learning center the People's university you can come in anytime whether you had a library card with your eight and you haven't had one since come back and see us where incredible resource and you basically already prepaid it right through your tax dollars so come in and take advantage of these incredible resources or log onto to leave the library dot Oregon see everything there is to offer so what about people that aren't will go you. Just you said you know no matter where you are. Can they actually get a library counting electronic resources yes with <hes> on our website. There's a place where you can go in and register and if you're in Ohio resident incident you can get a digital library card at all our libraries because all of the libraries in this state of Ohio gets state funding so therefore if you have that magical driver's license or I._D.. Or can prove you work and pay taxes in the state of Ohio. You can get a library card so I'll just tell you a little secret <hes> in my in my book club that I'm in a lot of times we all try and get on our phone as fast as possible to get the copies of the book digitally or physically and since I have a library card Dayton in Cleveland and Columbus I can just go to one of those others and get my digital download faster than they can. <hes> so it's available and then outside of <hes> Ohio what I always encourage people to do is to go to their closest library and talks a librarian because a lot of times a small rural library. You might not have as much access but most states you also get to like. If there's a large metropolitan library you can probably get a card there too and things like both reference U._S._A.. And merchant intellect many libraries rays have access to those Alal- that is absolutely fabulous because you know so many of our listeners are no high open a lot of them are not and so it's good for them to know that they have similar resources sources no matter where they are. They just need to remember that libraries aren't just for kids anymore. You know the right and they're not. They're so different than they. I used to be you know put in the description for the show. That's going to go on the website. When the show goes live you know the library just isn't all shush and books right and books and say go ahead on just GonNa say as far as physical folks go because some people still like the traditional book <hes> in addition to our nineteen branches and our mobile services and the main library when it reopens in September we have about thirty five that we work with public libraries around Ohio that share their materials with us but better yet about five years ago the regents in Ohio gave us access to a hell link which are all the college and university libraries throughout Ohio and we're talking about some materials that could be you know several hundreds of dollars in value that not only will they loan them to the Public Library though send them right to your branch and you can take them home and use them like you would a book here in Toledo so having access to literally like millions of dollars I worth of materials just through simple Inter library loan that will usually come in a week or less gives you access to just a almost infinite amount of materials that you can use again for professional development for business success for research but also for personal pleasure if you WanNa the D._v._d.? Series that <hes> you know the officers checked out or doesn't have you can get them through these other libraries that is absolutely fabulous to know and that could be a real money saver for every single person especially if you're trying to get an online degree or something and you're doing it on a strict budget being able to get those for free. Is something phenomenal well in the last couple minutes. We have have left Lynden David. Tell people how they can contact you to make an appointment. Give Him the website address whatever you want them to have all right well. This is Linda again and you you can contact me by phone at four one nine. Two five nine five to four.

"Grant services that we offer and now there's economic success team has been untethered in a way that we can be very available and we have the capacity to say yes more often. I'll that's so cool. That is so us any way you look at it. It's such a great resource and when you see one of those lists. Let's delve into that a little bit of detail because I'm not sure people can envision you. You know remember we're on the radio so visual picture for people and tell them because you just did a list for me that was absolutely phenomenal email and I appreciate that so much so cool and when. I saw that list is like oh my gosh look at the amount of detailed information they you get and if you were going to buy that same list that I got for free from the library you'd be looking at almost a thousand dollars just for the list so right yeah because the resources are not free except that the library so tell us about pink picture strobe. Let's say well the fact that you mentioned <hes> when when I was self employed before I came to the library if I were to purchase a mailing list it was usually considered a dollar a name and that would be a very generic mailing list so what you had asked for and I'll use that as a great example you'd asked for Lucas counter. I think it was North West Ohio. Women owned businesses and you didn't care what size right so what I was able to do was using the parameters amador's of the title which was owner and the gender which was female and then I picked northwest Ohio which is the Metro area of Toledo which includes a little bit of Michigan all the way to Indiana in in down past findlay and when I used those parameters I think we got over fourteen hundred names and when you clicked on either of those names and what I downloaded for you was all the detail you would get not only who that name was us but you would get <hes> you would also get about their company. If they had a website you would have a hot link to the website it would tell you if they run twitter if they were unlinked in or if they were on facebook but it would also show other people in the company if there was you know more than just the owner and besides that it would tell you the type of business and since you download this into an excel spreadsheet you could sort it in what's always fascinating to me when you sort on women owned businesses the top three industries that women owned businesses will be and it varies where you're located. We'll be hair salons restaurants in childcare so you could even say make a day a database database that didn't have those in and see what the other industries that women are starting businesses in and what's fascinating to me when I did that report for you because I started looking at it and it turned out there was a business in Sylvania Ania Ohio that had over ten million dollars in sales owned by a woman and so then I had to delve into it find out what it was and it turned out that this is this business sells candles online inches making ten million dollars in gross revenue selling candles online so it just goes to show. You don't know who your neighbors are. I know I looked at the list to. I looked at the other day because you know of course we wouldn't use Seles swim by women to join <hes> NABUCCO. The National Lands Women's business owners so that's our indie game on the list so anybody listening. If you're like Oh my God. Why is the money coach targeting women business business owners the money coach is not now Bo is because that's what Nabo does yes they they educate and and and collaborate with women business owners so we want to invite them to the meeting? Eating is the reason we needed the list but <hes> I know it's just the estimating it was just fascinating meek. You know you've got the name and address and the name of the company <hes> you've got the Industry Code owed that meant in the thing you the the number of employees that might mean something to you if depending on what you were doing or if you're offering a service it's radically valuable loosed penny no way you wanted to do right in it. It's interesting because it also <hes> government contracts. It will list companies that are doing government contracts. What fascinated me as occasionally? There is detail when you download all the detail. There's detail that you can't even select for so here's an example I had a woman that wanted to find information for herself about <hes> counselors and she did not want them in her own city so we sort of the data on counselors Oh she also wanted the council to be a female so we started the data by female counselor and then we said omit her zip. Zip Code and we still gotTa list of about twenty five but what was fascinating. She also said she wanted him to be a p._H._d.. Well that's not something I could select for but when I looked at the date with her that was a field that was identified identified so out of the twenty five. I think they were ten that had their professional designation in so how it away a happy camper then is the reference U._S._A.. Database specifically but a number of the business those databases can be used personally and professionally in so many ways that can help someone whether you're looking to identify sources of supply or some service that you needed personally and professionally to people so you know we're in the era of of a lot of things online but like we like to say sometimes Google is great but it's like the fast food of the web quick but not always good for you and the problem with that is there's a lot of free information until you click that third click and just when you wanted to get that value added information. They're asking for your credit card when you have your library card. which is your most powerful card in your wallet? You can go right onto our research page. Click in excess all those resources for free and you're never gonna hit that paywall. You're always going it'd be able.

"Well I am great and I'm happy to be here to talk to people about <music> out the amazing things we can do. Oh thanks for having us. Having a great day excited to be with you. Thank you you know a couple of months ago. We had that special group meaning Linda they that you gave us such a great presentation kind of how to do this and I was just bowled over but the number of resources that are available to library card holders for free and I have since use those resources I went to the break got my little card and I practiced what you taught us that it worked great. I was like okay that is good as Linda made it work. Yes tell people about the kinds of things that the economic success team brings them well. Since you mentioned looking for prospects listen things that I download at that was one of our branches which was at Waterville and have librarian will travel. I can be anywhere to help people look at these things <hes> we used to of our databases we use reference U._S._A.. And merging intellect and what we did is both of those work on a system of you identify what you're looking for so if you're looking for all the businesses in Lucas County that <hes> well. Let's say you WanNa look at all the pizza shops because you have a new software that will make their <hes> drivers happy okay we could identify list of all the pizza shops in Lucas County but then you might say well we only want to go to ones onset have ten or more employees we could do that too and then what's great is once you get your list. You can download it to excel you can call them. You can send him a postcard. <hes> you can <hes> show up on their doorstep if you want but that's all available free with your library card and then we have merchant intellect which operates very similar and you also get to it from the library and that one has a lot of research in it but the thing people are really excited. Ended about is you could build a list of say you're selling <hes> you were selling dog license or something for dogs. You could go into this database and say I want to make a list of all the People Mucus County that have a dog that are the man that have an S._U._v. and we could you could create a list and you're mailing about your new product that will keep their S._U._V. Clean when the dogs in it so those are just two of the databases that I'm always promoting and <hes> I'm always available to give people either a lesson on the phone or if they wanna come in and see me I can sit down with them and show them how to use these to make their business grow and that is so important because yeah you're not utilizing all of your resources than your business might not be growing as well as fast as you want it to now when they when they decide they wanna come and see you <hes> antiquing maybe they should call ahead to make an appointment so they know which bathroom GonNa be at absolutely and you know what we work with all variety of people so I did work with a gentleman recently who <hes> his transportation mode was either the <hes> the bus or a bicycle and he didn't WanNa make to bus transfers to get here so I met him at a branch that was closer that was just one bus ride so we're available to do that that and what's really exciting. We will be back downtown at main in the end of September <hes> with our new offices in new resources for businesses but right now we're we're hubbing out of heather downs and <hes> <hes> some of the other things that along with our databases for example tonight at seven o'clock. I have intellectual property attorneys that will be coming here to heather downs at no charge they don't charge us anything either but they'll meet with with people who WanNa talk about <hes> patent and trademark issues I mean maybe they think they have a pen and we have somebody that comes once a month the first Thursday of the month to talk with prospective entrepreneurs about their intellectual the actual property so that's another service that we have here I will let's just awesome so how do people that that might went to you know provide entrepreneurs perspective onto entrepreneurs. How do they hook up with you guys to be a member of the team is passable? Super Easy Lenders said we're out of the other branch library at this time we're willing to come to where they would prefer to one.

"In his army. Pretty scary because it's clear. These guys had no idea what it just happened, Nick waters with Belen cat, a group of open source, researchers, what had happened was small drone had flown over the dice and detonated peppering the ground with shrapnel. According to press reports the blast killed several including the head of military intelligence this weapon was launched by who the've rebels over eighteen miles away. Water says it was a glorified model airplane with an explosive on the front and a propeller on the back if flew a preprogrammed route using GPS, relatively simple. It can be very effective in recent weeks. The rebels have sent similar drums to target inside Saudi Arabia, including oil pumping stations. Airfields experts say these drones likely come from the who t's main sponsor, Iran. So Iran started to develop drones in the nineteen. Eighties. Arjan Tabatabai as a political scientist at the RAND Corporation, that was in the context of the Iran, Iraq war, and it was largely trying to make up for its lack of conventional capabilities. Iran has been under various arms embargoes for decades. So Ronnie, and engineers developed drones on their own Iran kept the technology to itself until a few years ago when the rival Islam state or ISIS started to green territory nearby. The rise of ISIS in Syria and Iraq was really the main driver behind Iran, starting to the ploy drones outside of its borders. In fact, the Syrian civil war has been a drone testing ground for all sides Israel has sent drones to hunt Syrian air defenses. Russia has tried added newest technology even ISIS used commercial. Drones to drop small explosives on the enemy many Veron's drones occupy a sort of middle ground between the advanced weapons of major powers in the off. The shelf technology used by Ali Vyas has with the International Crisis Group. He says taking cheap drones to the next level is exactly the kind of thing round us good at it is very much in line would Iran motorist. Ronda via says these drones fit well with the nation's overall defense strategy using asymmetric warfare and proxy groups to take on enemies far from its own borders. He's also not surprised by recent evidence. That Iran sharing not just drones but drone technologies. So that partner groups like the who teasing Yemen can build their own drones. They run in metality is generally that instead of giving fish to your of partners and talks in the region, you teach them how to do phishing, Nick waters, who tracks weapon systems in Yemen, and elsewhere, says there's evidence that the who the've rebels are building their own drones now. And he says small drones are showing up in conflict zones from Ukraine to the Philippines gonna be around. Because today give is really, really useful expensive cheap. "Morning edition from NPR news. I'm Steve Inskeep. And I'm Rachel Martin on Sunday. Pro wrestling, we'll see something they have never seen before WWE's main event for wrestlemainia will feature all female wrestlers, Ronda Rousey, Charlotte. Claire and Becky Lynn. The main Vanco wrestlemainia I'm going to. The other day to the mall. Women have never taken billing in the thirty four year history of wrestlemanias. So this is a big deal. Why did it take so long though, I asked David shoemaker author and host of the ringers wrestling podcast, the masked man show for on tencent purposes. This is pro wrestling Super Bowl released WWE the biggest company in America's appro wrestling Super Bowl. It's the it's the night win the biggest stars in the company and some of the biggest stars from years past come and do fake battle for everybody. Join. So this is this is the main event of the year and for the first time women who are these female wrestlers in the larger WWE fan base. I mean are they big stars in their own, right? Not just decide to. Oh. Yeah. Absolutely. I mean, there's sort of two kinds of stars in this match and two kinds of of wrestling stars overall. There's like free agents, and there's homegrown talent. Right. And Ronda Rousey, who is a former UFC longtime champion superstar in the real sports. You know in the real sport of cage fighting was the biggest free agent they could have possibly signed. She has the biggest crossover appeal of anybody probably on the roster unless it's Brock listener, another UFC fighter. But then on the other side, you have Becky Lynch who is maybe something if there's anything more powerful more potent than character like Ronda Rousey, it's it's what Becky Lynch issues, an organic megastar and over the past nine months exploded into just literally the biggest star in WWE, which is maybe the first time ever that you could. Say that about a female wrestler. So why is this happening now? I mean, why has Vince McMahon? The owner legendary even perhaps to some notorious owner of WWE decided that this is the year to headline women because well, I mean, it's been going on for a few years. This this kind of idea called the divas revolution. It was. I think it started February twenty fifteen there was one very brief very inconsequential women's match on this entire three plus our show, and it or Ganic led to this. You know, a Twitter hashtag, which is give divas a chance divas with a used to call all the women wrestlers, and and WWE to their great credit and even despite kind of dragging their feet on women's wrestling for a long time. They heard that hashtag they heard the clarion call and they and they heard the market responding. Exactly. That's exactly right. But then over the past four years they've made the steady progression. They've they've headline pay per view. I think I believe one pay per view in the past. And there is no separately an all women's. Pay per view. But the headline wrestlemainia is it's really the biggest honor in the company can provide you even even if there's three equal matches that are all at the top of the car at everybody's faces are the same size on the poster whatever it it matters to go on last David shoemaker is the host of the ringers podcast. "Who do you think is more likely to be on the FOX debut, Ronda Rousey, not necessarily mean an in a wrestling role? Maybe a special guest analyst, commentator, whatever or Brock lesser, who's more likely to be on the first FOX broadcast. I will say Brock only because. Who knows if Rhonda wants to appear if she is planning to start a family, I, but I I think there's a good chance they both appear a yeah, I do too. Somebody asked me to earlier this week. And I'll ask you this. What is Ronda Rousey is legacy on the women's division? If the if wrestlemanias it like that's the end of her in in ring in you know, in three or four years in doctorinal hall of fame, and that's it. I mean, that's the extreme end of the spectrum of possibilities for her. But it is a possibility. Sure. Yeah. I think it's it should be what could have been because I think she's been fantastic. Just you. They always like to talk about how quickly crew angle adapter nobody's adapted to wrestling quicker. Well, Ronda Rousey is right there. I don't care for mattress or heavily core court choreographed. She's just done amazing work. And yeah, there's quirkiness with run the Mike and things of that nature. But she has been terrific. It's been I think a bit underwhelming in terms of the impact that she's had as for bringing in a new audience and things of that nature. But I I don't know that we'd be seeing the women headlining wrestlemainia this year. Ronda Rousey, wasn't in that match. And so I think that that is something that that that definitely counts for something. But yeah, I think she has been spectacular. I can't say enough good things about Rhonda's work in rang and just how quickly she's adapted. You said that you don't think the women would be made eventing. I think there's a chance they could be made inventing restaurant. I think Charlotte and Becky would have been enough given the lineup that we look at for competing matches. I mean, I'd love to see data bride and Kofi Kingston close out wrestlemanias Kofi winning. I think if you're right. And I at the end of the way Keller hotline last night for VIP members. I you know, I talked about what I would do with Kofi and how I feel about him right now as as. As a potential title holder. And and where they can go with him. I think symbolically having Kofi standing in the ring. Ted wrestlemanias fiberglass would be great. But it's not the year for that. Because of the story there toiling women, but that said if Rhonda weren't in this match Seth Leser Seth winning. Yeah. That could Kofi winning that could. But why not Charlotte versus Becky? I mean, Charlotte the OPEC is a face. I I would have to me that absolutely could have been not just in my mind. Ideally, how they promote them. But just realistically, Vincent, man. Could look at that lineup ago. Yeah. Let's which Becky on top. I actually think without Ronda Rousey because of how good Charlotte is and the year that Becky had which was not by the way dependent on Ronda Rousey being around. She could have had a breakout your without that, I think it could have realistically been the year the co because they'd want to do it. Anyway, you know with a women's room shin and all that and it was brought up by John Oliver. They have made progress in this regard. I I think it's. There's a decent chance shell it. Becky would have headlined me. I can't rule it out. I everything would have been different creatively. And so it's hard to say it may have been there in part because they like said they wanted it to be there. They want that milestone moment. But I I mean, I don't like right now to me even with the big angle on Monday Kofi, and Brian does feel hotter to me personally..
Women to close out WrestleMania for first time
"WWE is going to make a little history with wrestlemainia this go around at outta MetLife. Big. It's a big deal. It's a huge deal for the first time ever. It's an all woman main event, it's a three way match, you know, with Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, whose champion were raw women's champions around the rousing shallow flair and Becky Lynch does the freeway match. It would be the main event. Some would call it the final match while from us. Call the main event Seles match. Yeah. So. You know, some folks thought maybe Brock listener. And Seth Rollins will be the main event, it's not universal title. This is for the raw women's championship. And you know. It says a huge deal. This is great not just for the business. It's just for the restaurant business, but it's great for women's wrestling because women's wrestling over the past several years has come such a long way, not just from WWE other companies to and the women aren't just looked at as as it used to be years ago. When it just I candy, he's a legitimate athletes. These are legitimate performance legitimate WB superstars, and these three ladies Shala flare rows and Becky alleged. They're gonna tear it down. It's going to be great. It's going to be great. And to do it at MetLife. Another just we're wrestlemanias. Always at these big big stadiums. Just like the SuperBowl, isn't pack them. Okay. You're gonna have close to eighty thousand people. Okay. At wrestlemainia people from all over WorldCom. And that just makes me so proud like as a former wrestler, a former wrestling broadcaster. You know, how many years it's taken? But it's finally like I was saying during the break to you and Andrew bogusch. Not really awesome. How so many worldwide mainstream sports verticals in sports, broadcasts companies, and and worldwide entertainment companies supporting with w w pro wrestling does on their websites on TV just a little while move says, you know, you're going to have Roman reigns. And all ladies the ladies in the main advantages named ought to be a sports center on ESPN on TV. I mean, so and and they're going to be doing suffered ESPN they did stuff last year too. So I'm just saying I just so it's just so refreshing that it's the the entertainment value is respected by the sports world. And the athleticism is is respected by the bulk of the sports world. So, but this is a huge thing. I mean, this is huge. And it's it's happy for I don't be rude. I'm happy for Charlotte flair and Becky Lynch of these ladies they paid their dues a lot of years. Lot of skin in the game. A lot of. A years. Lots of years, okay before WWE, Rhonda Rousey, she's new to the game. She'd been paid dues and the wrestling business. Great great MMA. She's a UFC hall of Famer. She's a amazing grand champion judoka. Which is a a junior champion. So amazing athlete and she brings massive stop power. But I'm old school wrestling traditionalists, and those two other ladies paid a lot of dues flair and Lynch, but Ronda Rousey is helping draw draw the helps draw the main event, obviously because I'm a stop out. Yes, she does. But not as popular as the other two amongst wrestling fans. No rescue domino. You said and you're right. And the reason is because bring name power put the wrestling fan or fans of Becky Lynn me the reason is because of respect. Yeah. Because they know like I just said the wrestling fan knows that those ladies paid a lot of deuce and Rhonda hasn't. But that's not the main reason she she's her character, which is good. They have for doing this more out of health the fans and a bunch of nerds in their basement. She's going that route which is called cheap. It's easy to do that works. It's fine. So that's helping hurt that helps her as a heel as a bad guy dead girl, get that heat. But the fans also know when she talks on a Mike is just terrible is no juicy. There's no other way to put. She's yes. I'm sorry. She's great, and my disrespecting handing she's done athletically, or what she means in for the WWE attached. But I mean, I just look at I look at the other two is just better overall. When you put everything in place. I, you know, I look at them as better overall women rested. And I just want to say this to like anybody who thinks wrassling. I listen, you watch any stuff leading up to the smack just for example, what Shala flare Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, go on YouTube goal. WBZ's website watch the physicality that's happening with these ladies. Yeah. Okay. Watchhouse fifties kicks and punches are that will watch. And so anybody who thinks any different is a dumb ass. It just doesn't stand and they have this archaic thinking, and it's it's sad because that's kind of like uncalled Alec. It's like wrestling's embraced now. It's it's sitting here on a national sports radio show. And we're talking about this. You'll have you'll have broadcasters here on CBS sports radio. Talk about wrestlemanias that leads to on WFAN here. Locally to know wherever you might anywhere anywhere. You live right, right. Talking about this. Because it like I said they're fixing to be on ESPN. Right. It's it's clearly it's clearly more mainstream and has got more mainstream as we've gone along here. And I, you know, put all that, you know, everything you said is true TASR. I just think you look at the growth of the women are the women's wrestler. The woman wrestler in professional wrestling is just remarkable. Because you mentioned in terms of now, I remember the days of sable, right? And not even not even go back where you know, you mentioned candy and everything was calling that stuff. You know that birthday. We'll see. So. So it's so significantly different the way that they're treated and appreciated now much significant. Yeah. And they've earned it. I mean, and they do a great job. I mean, we've interviewed you know, we interviewed Charlotte all week. That's right special winter, she was doing stuff a special, which is which the WWE designate job their outreach into the communities, and helping those that need it, and she talked about that. And and we know how big of a star Becky Lynch's and Ronda Rousey, she's got some work to do in terms of. I don't know if it's ever gonna get there with her on the Mike, but we know how great of a of a physical specimen. Well, then the thing is I do think like just a my opinion that I think they if if if if something McConnell McGregor happens would w w at wrestlemania guy the table set here, you get this main event here like we said earlier, I talked about this earlier. And I'll talk about more on my podcasts on the tashaun get deeper in the woods on the wrestling. But the thing is like you got you got one of the girls listing Becky Lynch and who's probably gonna win the championship. At wrestlemainia, and for those that don't know harmonica. Her name is she's the man so speculates as you know, Muslim. She's the man that's like the gimmick. And 'cause she's the man, but she's a woman. But it's it's just a gimmick. Right. But anyway, she's from Ireland. Okay. We know Conor McGregor is from Ireland. We know Rhonda rows economy McGregor offer ends. I could see something happened where I would strongly predict if f Conor McGregor gets involved. You know, and everybody's gonna hack this for me on this radio station. Just throw some credit over here to task. I would think that Conor McGregor helps Becky somehow some way maybe if he's involved win the match that'd be cool and win the championship. Because then they could go down the road where Rhonda's pissed at McGregor, and they could do something potentially further down the

"I had this. I have this is my hopeful pick as the best match of the weekend. And that's not to say, I don't want all these others. We talked about to contend. But this I hope reaches its potential, and if it does it's a chance for Oscar to really show what she can do and Becky really show what she can do. I think this does have a chance a good chance to be the best match of a really good weekend of top matches yen that Askin needs to have that moment. Asking to find people. How good she is. And why we were also excited about her being an annex t and coming to the main roster, and and all that. And I think Becky is in the exact right position to allow that opportunity to Oscar and then Ronda Rousey, Sasha banks. The last couple of weeks, especially the last segment on raw, it's too bad. So so few people side, there's a drop off of seven hundred thousand viewers from the first of the third hour they missed out at the end. Maybe there was a surge at the end because I only saw the hour the average but mad. They get me excited about Raanan Sasha Rana's Sasha's pushing buttons getting under Rhonda's skin rod is being held back. I sort of believe there's Rhonda's kind of like not losing track of whether it's a worker not like a little bit which makes which adds a little edge to things because she's so believably agitated I really liked the build up to this. And I'm really looking forward to how they I don't want to just go in and beat Sasha with an arm bar in two minutes because they're short on time stops, it was just a placeholder. I once I should have one way or the other come out of the stronger, even if she doesn't win and I don't expect her to. Yeah. I don't expect you're either. But I think the real value is that we're starting. It said not that dissimilar from Oscars that we're seeing elements of the original legit boss character, the he'll sash. His because that he'll Sasha banks in tea is really what made Sasha banks that version of Sasha banks the one that we saw at the first takeover Brooklyn show and have that amazing match with Bailey that for the first time since she's been on the main roster. That's the character that I feel like we've been seeing over the past couple of weeks. And I think that she's she's coming across. Fearlessly young. And you know, sometimes Sasha banks hasn't sometime Sasha banks has come across as I dunno. Does. She really know what she's doing. And I feel like now she's just found this confidence. And maybe it seeing Becky prosper. She's going like, oh, wait. There is possibility for us here. Like, we can if we can perform at that level, we can perform at that level. And and I think that that she is. And I hope that this is the introduction of of that version of Sasha banks, and this is Rhonda's best chance to have purpose match. Yeah. Casaus that good. Yeah. I agree. The bar MS and Shane what do you expect on this one? Well, like, I said, I mean, I'm not so averse to them is jumping in and winning the Royal rumble. You know, I kind of am thinking that with all the bad guys..

"It's like it's a team that normally doesn't make it like the pears haven't been in that spot in a while had they made us the chip she's sort of that. I mean, the the fresh face in a prominent spot with a lot on the line. And then you've got to see does. She look like she belongs. Right. Exactly bazars been great. I mean, I six months ago. Talking about well, promo wise, you know, she's gonna come along. And all that does she seem like she's pretending to be mean and bad ass, and in stern or does it feel authentic, and I don't ask those questions anymore. She's found her footing as a character and its money. It's it's they're going to they're going to make things work on the main roster with her. I think in a big wet. Yeah. I think she's awesome. And I, and I I think that a lot of that is because she this is what she wants to be doing. There's no she strikes me as a person who is just happy with her life in wrestling. And and that comes across in the level of commitment that she has the level of understanding that she has for who. What where when and why her character is? The report even the New York Post picked up on this wrestling of sort of reporting, Ronda Rousey might might be considering leaving after wrestlemainia this year kind of anxious to start a family and the schedule loving what she's doing it. Just sounds like she's kind of torn it would it. If that is the case, and w w was concerned about that. Could we see a fast forwarding of some storylines in order to fit in something with Rhonda and shayna? I mean, there's so many unanswered questions. You know, if Ron goes away forever, or does she just become a special attraction which case you can come back in a year year and a half at Shane is established. And they can have a big money match with her, and it might mean more. But even that's an x factor in the mix. It's hardly a for sure thing, but it's always been there even a week or two ago. I talked about Ron and the pacing of how long as you're going to be around and do want to get as many matches out of her. Now in case, she doesn't stick around for the long run because she has made it very clear from the beginning that she wants to have this other chapter in her life, and there's. Anxiousness if not a biological reason to try to get to it soon. Yeah. I don't think that there's any reason to rush this stuff even run is not going to be around because it wouldn't have the significance that it could've. Anyway, I doing something with her in shayna even anytime within the next year would kind of be laced like there'd be no way, you wouldn't have any significance. It wouldn't be the same at all. And realistically if we can get Rhonda if Rhonda word Aleve wrestlemainia, right? And she Benxi were to come back in two years and do some kind of special attraction match realistically, Shane obeys. Lawyer is the one person that she would have no problem doing a special attraction match with. So I think I think there's no rushing shayna. She doesn't have the box office appeal that Ronda does. So you can't just bring her to the main roster and have her do the, hey, I'm dominant just like Ronda Rousey, because you know, she didn't have that em backwards shouldn't have the background that Ronda does. Meaning she wasn't the biggest female star in the history of MMA. So you know, I. I think that the for that to really pan out you need to spend a lot of time establishing Shane obeys ler as the most dominant annex t female of all time. And then over on the main roster maker just as on beatable as she was on. And I think that's doable. It's just a matter of, you know. If you wanna do something with Rhonda, it's probably even if she doesn't leave this year to make it work. It probably should be a special attraction thing that happens down the line..

"And he was the first universal champion. And as soon as he got to the main roster. He was a main event guy and he went out with an injury. And when he is not Ben cemented as. A main event guy sense. He came back with the injury all those months ago. Now, he's got the opportunity to do just that if if if he is successful in pulling off a great match with Brock listener. Then he has the opportunity to be to be elevated. So I don't even think I don't even think the question is when will Finn Ballard win or lose. I think the question is what will thin valor? Look like coming off of this. Now, I read an interview I don't remember who did it. I wish I could give credit because you know, I've no problem giving people credit, but Finn valor. I think said that we will not see him as the demon at the Royal rumble that this is something Finn valley needs to do. And actually think that that's a smart thing. You know, I think that. The demon needs to come out when all other options are exhausted. And we've never seen like the demon would come out for the second or third fin valor vs Brock Leser match. But we need to see what fin Ballard without the demon is really capable of. And that's what this is going to be a test of at the Royal rumble. The other big match that I think the build up has been tremendous for is Sasha banks versus Ronda Rousey now. This the reason I'm so excited about the build up for this match is because this is the Sasha banks that I have been waiting for since she came over from annex t. Embrace embrace the internet. Rumors embrace the fact that she thinks that she's better than everybody else. Let her think she's better than everybody else. Let her go out and prove that she's better than everybody else, and let her not be shy about that. Let the legit boss be the legit, boss. Being the boss means that you're in charge. The boss doesn't look at everybody under him. His peers the boss considers him or herself the number one. And that's who saw shebang should be. Now. The question is what does that mean for her in Bailey, and what the tag team division in the in in the women's division looks like going forward? And I think it's actually makes him Bailey can still be tag team. You know, I think that we can be in this for the long haul. But I think Bailey needs to start getting more and more reluctant over the course of the next few months and Sasha banks needs to start being more and more unapologetic and egotistical over the course of the next few months if we've learned anything. During the Sasha banks, Ronda Rousey, build up. It's that Sasha banks works in this space that Sasha banks works in the egotistical unapologetic space. Sasha banks with no respect for Ronda Rousey is the Sasha banks that I wanna see fight Ronda Rousey, and quite frankly, fight anybody else on the WWE roster. It's good to see the boss back. That's the headline this week between Sasha banks and Ronda Rousey, and that's the state of wrestling this week on not Sam wrestling. Don't forget Phoenix Friday night show up seven thirty pm. "Flow, for example, I wanna win role more people in the forget you program realistically at this point in time. I can probably handle a hundred and role as permanent. So it would be unreasonable and unrealistic for me to set a goal of two hundred per month because half of them, wouldn't it? My current ability deserved them. Now when I get to that point of being about it so many five I will put arrangements in place to handle the next goal. But until then that bigger goal is unrealistic, and I raised about that's what realistic and reasonable art. And of course, you need the end date. Once this list is complete. You wanna look at it. Which one of those goals is the single most important goal on the list, put a one next and. Then the the rest of the list, which one of the remaining goals on that list is the single most important goal for the two next to it. Now again. Which one is the single most remaining goal and put it three next week. And so on until you have a list probably should not exceed six goals for the year. If you have more than six growth goals for the year, you probably are not making reasonable and realistic choices you're going to be running a little lakes. Okay. And you really need to make them accomplishable goal or you need to set goals for the first half. And then the rest of the list for the second half. Okay. Now in this next set, you're gonna take your list from step for your goals with and I want to add a column to that list. And in that column, you're going to put down how am I going to be gin to reach this goal? In other words, start to break that goal down into bite size pieces or little bit. So that each task is measurable and manageable. Good, jamie. Debit grape. It goes you're not measuring. The mayor's your progress along the way. See you gotta do that. For each go on the list. Make the bits in the column next to it. And they need to be measurable in the energy, for example, Michael. Okay. Measurable manageable that. Whatever types who might login. How much social media marketing gonna do who's gonna do it? And I often made it they're making the pay for it to be debt. All these things are measurable in nam is about that. They need to be addressed in the plan. Otherwise, it's wishlist, okay? Out to the next step. To step into the new list. Thank goodness right in that same list from steps four and five to go with let's start to discuss the implementation of those bits where bite size pieces next to each Hannam. Put an indicator of Guth going to be responsible for that task will be you will be jelly gated. And if it's going to be delegated who's gonna be delegated to tend to win and how and how are you going to hold that person or team accountable again this out depends on the sex of your business. If you're so proprietor, you still gonna delegate it. Some of it you're going to outsource just gotta put it on the list. But if you're a bigger shot or a bigger business remember to clearly communicate to the person being delegated to what's the task. What's the time line?.

It was a distraction a small player that literally, you know, just a little thing a glitch. Or it was an pleasant experience in that kids my to you is forget about it. Don't put it on the list move on. The next we're gonna make and yes, I realized where into list so during the show you're only gonna time to write down what you're going to be making list. But on your other time, when you're you know, you have time to really plan for two thousand eighteen you really want to get this done. You really want to spend some time in it. Anyway, it will take you a lot of hours or perhaps even days to get all this done. So don't feel badly. Don't rush yourself. You really wanna be thorough? Getting this step stun do them. Well, and do the inorder for them next them game from going through this exercise and truly there's quite go through the exercise. If you're not gonna give it all you got. If you want to sell it to the nineteenth. You gotta get up. Get it. Then get ready and move on it. Now, the next thing you're gonna do this list is what do you want to change how much growth do you want to see and seven in date. How many other goals do want to reach and set in date for each girl that be realistic each go? I'm gonna multiply sales by ten. That's not realistic, not less, you only had one in two thousand eighteen and he went ten into the nineteen that might be realistic. But if he's cillizza million dollars in it takes you twenty four months to close it, then it's not realistic is it, so, you know, your business make your goals realistic than set an indie and make them reasonable. But you gotta stretch they gotta grow..

So now is in Akron and also on right there vice column every week and the Toledo journal, and I write for pathway newspaper every now and then and then I have my Sam dishes in all of that is. But as your question, it all comes down to me for me is just communication. And a lot of people always say, ask me that question. What you just said is, how are you doing that all at the same time. All love is just a form of communication, and I'm just expressing to radio television, print and all the other ways of expressing it. So it's really just just me. It's just like talking talking in English talking in Spanish, talking, rushing, and I'm still communicating. So that's how I look at it. That's them. But you are doing it by plan, right? You started out to build your brand and you have. And you're working on it, you didn't just go, okay. I think I'll get up this morning and start to turn myself into this media marvel. Did you mope? No, yes. I was a media Morrow, but I had I got a working plan in place and for the most part where starts out anytime you want to build a brand that you have to know what your brand is that normally centers around who you are. And I'm very familiar with me because since I was a child, I've been in the self development on myself. So I'm very aware of what my strengths weaknesses are, what my kiss are, what my lane is. So what I've done with it, like I said, put it in those communication form and just build every day just building and how it should go. One of the one of the things I do after you know, after, you know who you are branding is a find out how you how you need to brand and get a plan together. Am I? One of my one? I think the best plans I've had is like this. I've. I've I've had it made a lot of bad moves at all because I

During his campaign President, Donald Trump repeatedly promised to nominate supreme court justices who would overturn Roe v Wade. Now that he's nominated judge Brett Kavanagh for retiring Justice, Anthony Kennedy seat, abortion rights, advocates, worried that the conservative dream will come true. Row for those of you who might need a refresher is the nineteen Seventy-three court decision that legalized abortion nationwide. But what needs to happen in order for row to be overturned is more complex than it might seem. First of all, Senate needs to actually confirm cavenaugh. This seems very likely but Republican senators, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins might be hold outs, but they both voted to confirm drums last, pick Justice, Neal, Gorsuch. Then it's a waiting game for the first lawsuit over abortion rights to reach the supreme court. If cavenaugh is confirmed, there are number of cases making their way through the lower courts right now that could end up before the supreme court. Then this prim court has to agree to hear them which doesn't always do even then rose fate may not rely on Cavanaugh alone, but if it is overturned, it would not make abortion illegal. It would just end that decision down to the state level current laws in states with liberal pro abortion rights. Legislators probably wouldn't be affected, but they might see an increase in people traveling for abortions from out of state. Abortion rights advocates are also concerned that the lack of supreme court protection for abortion. Laws could also increase restrictions, including bans on insurance that covers abortion the morning after pill or long acting contraceptive methods, whatever happens. It's extremely unlikely that the US will wake up one morning with its abortion laws entirely reversed, which is what happened.
