Today is the first day that we've had without any games in this World Cup it was supposed to be a chill day, but a lot of people flocked to that Portugal training today and look, it wasn't a major training. It was just to keep the guys moving, the boys in studio will know what it's like. Those that were the starters yesterday parts of the starting 11, they did some work in the gym with resistance bands and whatnot. And then the rest of the subs that came on. They were out. They had their football boots on, and they did train like that. Cristiano Ronaldo, who was a sub yesterday, as you know by now, was not a part of the subs and said he chose to train with the boys inside the gym. He was seen using resistance bands, he didn't put on his football boots at any point. He stayed in his trainers and kind of kept things lightly. What we can not confirm, though, we've spoken to a number of the journalists that were there is whether it was his decision or not so we can not outright say that he refused to train with the subs or if that was just parts of the plan. They did ask the Portuguese media there. If, you know, maybe he was carrying something, even though he didn't start yesterday and the Portuguese FA rubbish that claim they said no, he's perfectly fine, but they didn't give any more details. Now Portugal are set to have a media session a press conference with Fernando Sanchez on Friday ahead of their quarterfinal match, no doubt a lot of those questions will be about Cristiano Ronaldo because everybody continues watching him under a magnifying glass, but for now we can not say that he refused to play or train with the subs. However, he did not take part on the pitch instead he did all his work inside the gym. When you have a player, not just that good, but that old in your squad, whether it's a club team or an international shade, when you have a plate of 37 years of age, probably every day that there's going to be any sort of train and the manager, the coach, the fetish court, whoever's in charge, will go to that player and say, how are you feeling today? Should you do a bit today? Should you leave it? Should you do a better stretch and so it shouldn't be a surprise that every day for an hour is different. This has got nothing to do with this stuff we've been talking about. I don't think this is about what's best for the player, which ultimately is going to be best for the squad F is to be brought on in again. So they're making a mountain out of a molehill. Now, this is not me making this up. This is the action of Christian or Ronaldo. So the team is celebrating, they're going through their fans. They're clapping. Everybody's together, and he's going the opposite direction. That sort of behavior is very similar to what we saw from Christiana Ronaldo and Manchester United. But perhaps he has taken a step back. Perhaps he has seen the bigger picture, perhaps he has seen the light. And he now understands that he has an important role to play with this team, but it's not going to be a starting role. There may be a moment in which they need a big goal from Christian or Ronaldo, but it's not going to be from the beginning of the game, because what we saw from Portugal yesterday without Ronaldo on the field and with everybody else not only Gonzalo Ramos, but everybody else and the attitude of the group as a whole was 18 that was free. A team that was now more dynamic that you weren't just looking for Ronaldo that you weren't just looking to play somebody you were looking for the right path and the right movement. Everybody utilizing their own brains, not his brain, their own brains, to see the game to react to the game and make the decisions that made sense to them. "Fast. It's unbelievable. I think that is the root of this. He's so frustrated at what he can't do anymore. But let's be Frank about and Mark touched on this. When he talked about one of the things he talked about was the evolution of the club when Sir Alex left. He's right about that. But as Mark said, he knew about that. No, I presume he's quite a great guy. I don't know him, but I'm presuming he's a bright guy, so he should have been bright enough to know it was amateurs making recruitment decisions and bad ones, right? So he should have known that. I think all these hoping for is a good World Cup, he scores a couple of goals in the World Cup as well, and also a big player, a big striker, maybe gets injured and employs him, needs somebody to come in. Anyway, so it's basically looking at Saudi Arabia, Qatar. Maybe MLS. I'm not sure if I'm a less worker or an Aldo. I don't know. But that is what he's looking at. That is the sum total of Cristiano Ronaldo's career, what remains. And it won't appeal to him. But equally, united has got a problem in the sense that they want him out of the car get rich. So it may have to cancel this contract, which ultimately makes him the winner because that's what that is what he's playing for. That is what he's trying to do. He's trying to make himself unemployable. It's funny it sucks, basically. A monitor like this sack Roy Keane back in 2005, it terminates contract and getting to situation where this might have to happen with Ronaldo. You might have sort of drifted with him a little bit. Now as I said, if you're a young player there and you're looking at what Ronaldo has done and you're looking at the manager in the work that he's doing, no question you are walking and you are heading towards what ten hawks do because he's the future not Ronaldo. And I agree with the boys ten hogs put his foot down the morning after the night before and he's just squashed it he's shown his authority and he said, listen, I'm the boss here. What you've done last night will never happen again. If I happens again, probably is probably finished forever, but it's just a stain down. It's a shame and it's a stain on a legendary figure and what he's done in the game, but he is getting to the point as the lads are saying. "For the last 20 years playing elite football and respect has always played a very important role in my decision making process. I started very young the older and most experienced players examples were always very important to me. Therefore, later on, I've always tried to set the example myself for the youngsters that grew in all the teams that I've represented. "And it's hard to see or believe that Ronaldo at any point is struggling for confidence. He never makes it feel that way. But you could just see that he seemed to get more and more tense as a game as a game went on because despite this call line, I'm on your should not have been in this picture at all. Never even come closer to that. And i've been there many many times and it's just unreal today yesterday and thirty years ago for every day you can buy and maradona shirt.
