Recruiter story, we've gone most famous never happened on lake Minoan ah that's for Otis Redding. The famous singer died. He was like twenty seven years old plane crash reading died at twenty seven years of age. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sitting on the dock of the bay and I. Yeah. And then he died. He died in that died, crashing the late Minoan in the winter and no shit. Yeah, no shit real and Vic Vic to this day together, wrote sitting on the dock and the band recorded it back hitting the he would then die on the water. Yeah. Spooky stuff. Yeah. Wishing us on the dock. In fact, make it to the you're. Yeah. That's for oldest running died. That's great. Yeah. I mean too bad for him. But yeah, that yeah I mean it's great. You know, it's, it's interesting. It's an interesting factoid lock people know about mass Wisconsin. That's where it will just reading died, and he died going into a lake. For some reason, buddy, buddy, Holly. Everyone knows died in the crush cornfield in the middle of winter of April or whatever now for some reason, people don't make that connection with Otis Redding, how he died young age is banned. And, you know, I think things like six seven people in that plane that went down. John, Denver, John, Denver. Tune of what are you run out of gas or something died in the airplane? Yeah. Came out and Jim Guy, probably like that song you lived in Colorado longtime rocky. Jim tro she, too. So get better to get richer record, so job to budge people up. So. When you get to really suspenseful spot in the story. Yeah. And this is a good story stop. Okay. And we're check back in with Spencer about his about the about the okay antler problem. I think inaugural about the stock suspenseful. Okay. Well, I think I'd do anyway. So there you guys are you say to him. He man was the weirdest thing. You found out in these lakes. Yeah. And he didn't even hesitate you start talking about. He was aware Lakewood. Lisa. And he told me he's told me the story where he said, you know, two guys years ago. Ice fishing like two o'clock in the morning and this not sober. Not probably how soberly about partying most night, there, the guy's name is Ron wick, and Carl Stoltze. Rick was Rick, Ron. Rick was twenty years old and Stoltze was twenty three years old. And they were out partying even had a girl with them for awhile. And they asked her if she's going to go out there. Walleye. Fishermen. And she's fortunately for her turned them down as head of the old like, do you want to come back and see my aquarium? Right. Like you wanna go with me and my buddy here. Yeah. Out ice fishing. So she, she said no Klein, she'd had enough for one night. But those guys so I like these guys they got their front. And there you straight. Admirable guys. And they so they, they dropped this, this young lady off the they, they knew Neva bait shop in town, that had those all night, things you press, this is nineteen sixty one by the way nineteen sixty one this story starts February twenty first of sixty one they go to a bait shop, bring the doorbell. "Or just. Back to that conversation. We had earlier I've got a couple. I we like to congratulate quarterback and friend of this show Palmer on becoming the sixteenth member. The Zona cardinal ring of honor, Khartoum his name this week. And I'm sure Aaron who's now the coach in your hometown. That would eat Tampa. Sure, he would second nomination. You know, clock the first big move, Bruce Arians made when he inherited a five and eleven hours on a team twenty thirteen first time had coached fulltime head coach is to get costing Palmer and it was a master stroke. Palmer had had an okay career decent career to that point he blossomed under the quarterback whisper one year. I think he was a legitimate league MVP candidate. I believe it was twenty fifteen when they made the I believe the NFC championship game. Yeah. Clobbered dot clobbered by Carolina and it was not upon was better days, but he was a very effective quarterback for Bruce Arians was and a very good one. And anyway, congratulations, the Carson Palmer well-deserved but not too lucky, but not coaching that leflore the second item here. He just went surgery for twenty Killys suffered a pickup basketball game with other coaches in Green Bay coaches and provokes. The question. Supposed to indulge in risky off season activities should coaches, which I'd say absolutely I mean I haven't seen one up yet. And as Mettler said, you know, it's not going to fact anything other, of course, then just never basketball game. So I request on this, where do you thin on this coaches? And I'm with you. Only hurt that day what was pride. That's right. And, you know, look, I'm out at the bucks everyday ninety degree heat for saying the sixty six you know where he is. He's part clock watching OTA's and mandatory minicamps, and it's not because he's got opponent, Kelly and leflore can do that. So that the compare him to a player who's out of action because of an off field, the injury, absolute nonsense. He's probably embarrassed about it clock. But that's as far as it goes. Right. Okay. I know when you get back the conversation we had earlier, we're talking about barber and John Lynch, both hall of fame candidates. And there's something you talk about how it bothers you. They can't get any traction here and I'll tell you just in general, what bothers Rick, Ron and me is that there are others who get to me too much traction talking about this. First ballot guys eight of the last fifteen people we put in meeting eight of the fifteen people in the last three years over fifty. Percent of them in the first year of eligibility. And that concerns us because, you know, Ron one said I thought he was right to be a first ballot choice. You've gotta be a guy says is go. Jim Brown then you sit out that's it. There's no discussion. I mean it you say John United you sit down. And unfortunately, I think that changed in two thousand seventeen when Jason Taylor became a personal choice. I'm not trying to not Jason tailing the belongs in the hall of fame. But he wasn't even a first team all decade choice and somehow became a first ballot guy now everyone's demanding to go in first ballot. When you hear someone talked about, like Jason Whitford first ballot guy. First ballot they went first bell, and we're putting it in more than fifty percent of them. And honestly, it sort of rankled some of the older guys like the three of us and your are vintage. And, and I just wondered if it bothers you as well, because it seems sort of cheapen the first ballot designation. If most people getting first ballot game. Disease. You know as usual, you, you're right on the market. Jason taylor. My might have been he might have been dividing line, and that twenty seventeen class in retrospect clock. I didn't know it at the time that, that was John Lynch is moment was right right, one because there was a lot of talk about, you know, we gotta get some safeties in. So he had a little bit at that moment, going, and all of a sudden, just when he was poised to get in. I believe because I think he might have been, you know, the six seventh guy in years past wouldn't win, only a maximum five. I thought it was his time, and that was the first year that all of a sudden this versatile safety from the Philadelphia Eagles got on the ballot and he did. And what he did was he took enough votes away from John Lynch, voters undecided. I don't know which. Guy finished with more votes that year. We'll never know in twenty seventeen but dockings and Lynch went at it much like somebody's out pensive linemen are going, right? And they're siphoning votes from each other clock. And then all of a sudden nobody and I'm nobody so Jason Taylor emerging. Right. Presented him, you know. Garrow. He didn't say he was stunned knock them up with other. I think he was just trying to lay the foundation for. Coming coming years. And you know, I know people may say, yeah. Well, I mean who cares? You know who cares? You know, I'll tell you who the guys waiting in line ahead of these people. You go to the grocery store. Stand in line for fifteen twenty minutes, then some guy with a hundred and fifty dollars or the grocery jumps accu-. You know what you care to? I mean, we have a lot of offense lineman, Hugh mentioned waiting wonder what about me? I mean, we have John Lynch there. We have Edgerrin James there. Those guys are penalized because it is a Bruce, Bruce. We can't wait to Russian guys who could wait to three or more years, but I nobody has patience anymore. They believe that they don't get in on the first try and so to their fans that somehow they've been disrespected. What, what, what's gone wrong with this picture clock? Do you think a compelling factor in this scenario is maybe the changing age? Of the board that could be probably, yeah. Yeah. Because we have kevon green who has third most sacks in NFL history. Right. Waited twelve years twelve years. And he was patient and say anything and I think a lot of those guys in there. You know. At some of those guys at least be you, Ron Rick, we watched him and we thought, okay? Kevin greene. Yeah, we always got the numbers, but he's gonna come along at his pace and I know we're slower than he wanted to be waited. But now yeah, it just seems like maybe younger guys just don't have that patience talking not only about the players, but maybe the right of the glass. Yeah, I put him in, and I believe there's gotta be a Q and respect that you unless you get that Montana that Brown that you're right. A guy who's educated everyone else Brett Farr. I'll throw Ed read out throw Ed Reed in that category. I would too, I would to remember when every was presented last year. And Scott got you don't even need to make a presentation goes, I liked it, but it was like doing minutes. And then there was no discussion because there need to be any, you know. Anyway, I just I it just it drives me nuts because I have been selfish. Clock. Maybe I'm being selfish. You tell me a little too close to the situation, but I well, Ed Reed falls in that category, as the first time I I'm not sure Troy Palmolive does. I'm not sure I'm not I'm not either discussion with some of the Pittsburgh is Bush, hadn't particular about it, and he was aghast when I said they kid me, and I said, no, I'm not. But we'll find out what happens there. I mean, this is a wide open year. This to me is year where people can go forward. I think those offense of mentioned there three but cell how to send Fanta mentioned edge, maybe an Isaac Bruce, maybe something like that got hopefully, John, maybe those guys can move forward because you look at that twenty twenty one up IRA, you can forget it. I mean pay manage their Woodson, Jared Allen, some others. It's going to be back up again doing James is a heck of a candidate clock is why is he waited so long. That's I don't get, you know. And, and this is the first year made the top ten this is the first year I know he's not particularly. Happy about it. But hey that's the way it goes. You know, anyway, did you just get a ju just got a pamphlet in mail about Roger Craig, Mr. judge? Did I did. Yeah, yeah. But he's a senior candidate. Now he's saying your candidates. That's right. I'm but I'm Roger Craig believer. I covered that team. I believe in them RIC and Ron aren't as high on him. I think the guy played fullback halfback. He did a well both positions of the Pro Bowl in both positions, but he credibly valuable back, but now that he's in the senior class, it's the great abyss and who knows what have you mentioned Kuching bird, he disappeared. Once. He went through just disappeared. Anyway, I removing on speaking twenty twenty one when you get there, because there was an interesting item. Appear last week. And that's one that said these myth, who most people knows the executive director, the NFL players association. He's reportedly notified players to be prepared to sit out the twenty twenty one season. Basically, he's telling them that the threat of a strike that year. It's real now eight I believe threat Israel, but the I will never ever believe players. We'll sit out of season reason, like you, I watch them jump the picket lines in nineteen eighty seven and that told me all I or NFL owners needed to know. And that's this they missed the paychecks too much to have a collective walkout for more than a few weeks. And I don't be watching that I understand that. But they're not gonna hold out for your do you agree? History clock. NFL history tells us clearly that any situations. The fatcats with the fat paychecks the owners tend to win. They do right. Particularly the last impasse. That was a lopsided win for ownership. I'm not a I'm not a big d Smith supporter clock. I never have been. He talks a good game. He's come down to Tampa made a couple of charges about particular players. Never followed up on it to me, a lot of boss ter- when it comes down to a showdown clock. I believe the NFL negotiators will will do a job on the Smith. And I think the players won't be well served in the end. Well, you know, I agree with you. And I deliver that bracelet that say message to Smith and that light at the two thousand eleven NFL PA meetings, Mark violent, Florida, Brian with their with me and and I remember telling about like. You know, we're gonna see what happens because he goes, we can hold out for the I what we'll see. But look what happened I mean players, rush into a CB as you mentioned that they later regret. And the reason is they miss the paycheck and as I said, I get it, you know, I would too, but don't tell me you're so strong. That you're gonna wait out owners because the owners instead of the fat cats and they got deeper pockets. You know, the so much money clock. Of course, it's all about money as it always is. But talk the so much of it, I believe, the, the NFL just went over fifteen billion and suddenly Clark that Roger Goodell projection, which I believe was twenty five billion maybe by what twenty twenty five or twenty thirty I can't. Yeah, it doesn't look that crazy clock. You know, TV's about to be renegotiated that's not going down salary cap rising at a very rapid rate. I believe fifty percent increase in the last six years. I'm not sure around the players have a compelling issue at this point clock. Yeah. Well, there's a compelling issue for the owners in mention that the other I wanted to get through, that's eighteen games schedule. I know it's always been a possibility and that we've got Roger saying, you know, we really don't need for preseason games which. Translated means we want to go to eighteen games schedule, right? I thought this was concerned about players safety. How does extending the regular season make it safer players and second, if you're going to do this, you're gonna have to give up something significant? So what are you going to give up to me? I think with the players to try to get guaranteed contracts. You know that, that, that, that could be the big sticking point to guarantee and they always, you know, they always compare the NFL all the sports in that regard. And how guys don't have that job security, and it's a fair point. But you're right Raj what good does not very good at it is keeping his desires of the owners, you know, a secret he broadcasting from tower and kinda go to an eighteen game. Schedule. They're gonna go every now. It's gonna happen sooner rather than later clock. Everybody knows that clock. You, you and I are old enough to remember when they had six preseason games. Go get into that. I can almost remember that some senior moments. But yeah, I do remember that. Hey, thanks so much for your service really, really been a pleasure. Thanks doing this and guaranteed. We'll talk to you. Thanks so much..

"Got some great podcast coming up as well. Dominic in Kellen from ghost island or going to join on the real tomorrow together yet to fun. Yes on that'll be a lot on to get into everything with them. And then the purple pants bad ass. Price is AM will join us. For this week's feedback show and Liana Boris will join us on this week survivor this week so jam packed week a podcast yet. Wow. That's that's that's pretty big. That's a big week too. Big week. Okay. Yeah. Stephen, let's talk about a what happened here because I feel like that there were sort of like a two reads on this episode tonight. Right. Well, I I also the one read is that Ron shouldn't is I'm trying to guess what you're saying is the one read that right? Ron screwed it all up by taking. But by by winning the the loved ones reward, he alienated Lauren and Victoria. And that was his downfall. What's the other read? No. That wasn't really major part of it. May mean Donaldson is show. Dammit, read, of course, the challenge from heroes versus villains. But it's almost like that you watch this episode, and it's like damn Rick Devon's. Well, he did it again. But meanwhile, yes, he did save himself from elimination, but all of the heavy lifting for the elimination of Ron Clark was to the players that probably end up getting a lot more credit tonight. Yeah. I mean fishy for Victoria, you all Victoria's a long-term favorite of mine. And I think that. Ron enjoy just assumed that the default plan would be Aurora because they were saying roar because Aurora was the default plan always. And I think as soon as you get locked in on a planet opens the door for other people to make a move and Victoria had that great great remark. Like, I wanna be the one who's choosing who goes home, not not rake like we should just like wait to see who Rick votes for let that be the determining factor here at the final eight. So from her perspective, I thought it was really great to plan on insurrection a little bit of confusion with the votes for those who are curious and missed it. So Gavin Gavin voted twice Gavin did use Aurora's extra vote. So two of the Ron votes from Gavin Lauren also voted for Ron Rick voted for Aurora and then Julie, Ron, Victoria. And who I missing Julie around Pretoria and someone voted for. Voted for Rick. So Rick did have four votes, and he would have gone home. Aurora Aurora is the last person. So Rick Aurora. Nope. Sorry, Ron Julie Aurora, Victoria voted for Rick. And when I thought was incredibly genius about this is that Victoria, who came up with the plan to blindside Ron is voting for Rick. So she's actually voting with Ron and Julie. So in the case that Rick doesn't have an idol. And Rick does go home. She hasn't pissed off. Ron and Julie it's Gavin and Lauren who pissed off. Now does this now end her streak though, Stephen voting for the person who went home every single time? Do you still she came up with a plan? It was her. It was her plan. Yeah. Interesting. And I thought that this might have been victorious best episode of the series for me, maybe revolt as still might be tops. But this was probably, you know, one in one b yeah..

"But you then start to lose sight of the other people who are playing the game with you in how they're perceiving you, and we know how important perception is on survivor and if air perceiving, you a certain way, even if that's not the way that you feel like you're acting if that's what they think that's what it's going to be. And I think he ultimately suffered that fate of kind of being controlling and taking a leadership role little too far little too aggressive and really really upset people. And what the target immediately on his back. All right. Well before we moved to the third rule. Let's take a quick break to hear from our sponsors. If there's one in your area, if not we'll be back, even quicker and we're back. So let's move onto the third rule which talks about being flexible. So how do you think war dog did here and being flexible? Yes, I'm gonna go with. It's interesting to start there. Because clearly he was very close with Lauren and very close with Kelly. But like we've talked about ready he stopped speaking today. So that's a bit of a problem. I think that the relationship between that trio and David and Rick really kind of showed itself in that crazy. Julia tribal council when David like re introduced himself to Kelly. So clearly there was a lot of speaking not going on with that with that group of three in that too. So I don't think he was flexible Icke needed to be with those people that were not in his immediate am I already kind of talked about that as well. So I I think he was a little too forceful in what he wanted people to do and wasn't willing to listen to other people suggestions and kind of take that. It in. Instead, it was more of this is what we should do in this. Why we should do it? And this is what we're going to do instead of talking through it with other people outside of his group. Yeah. I mean, I will say that we oftentimes considering all his options and choosing the one that he thought would best suit him. So at least at least he was considering. But you're right. He did often end up back with the same group again. It's like it's like we said in the early episodes. He was portrayed as the swing vote. And I guess technically he was but he always ended up on the side of Kellyanne Lauren. Right. Yeah. And I'm not saying that's bad. You know, that might have been the best thing was for his game at the time. Yeah. And then when he decided he didn't want to be with the money, more and voted Kelly out. He had himself out. Yes, seen flexible probably didn't help him there. Yeah. All right. Move onto the fourth rule which tells players not to let their emotions control them. And I think in general war did fine here way back in two. He spoke directly from my heart. When he said every move you make should be a rational decision. And you know, this is one hundred percent true both inside and life in general. And I think he stuck to it. Even after Rick gave him the sarcastic blow off a few episodes ago war dog was willing to put that aside and work with him again, not to mention giving him one heck of mud rub down my work. Yes. That was that was a lot to to see. But I do I do agree with that that he's he did seem to be coming from at least a rational of rational. I can even speak a rational lace when he was making the decisions that he wanted to make as to why he was votes. Out certain people, and yeah, I mean that whole conversation with Rick could have definitely his response to that could have been so much different than it was. And he kept it all in check because he was trying to lay survivor and he was trying to play game. He wanted to work with Rick. And I think that we saw him continue to try to fix that relationship that he had with brick as we saw in this past episode where he wanted to work with Ron Rick. We three need to work together in protect each other..

"Happened on Sunday in the bears eagles game. So the greatest part about feeling down is when you start to feel good again. You know, the best part about being sick is appreciating your health. And I mean, I even tweeted out after that bear's loss on Sunday. I said, you know, this is a reminder to me of the passion that sports invokes in me, and it's this raw visceral emotion. And if you could never if you never knew what it meant to experience sports agony in defeat. How could you ever truly appreciate reveling in victory? So there you go we're going to talk to Kevin Harlan at eleven o'clock, and as we like to do as we are want to do on Cambio tonight on Thursday nights. We like to pay homage to something. And I had I taped cabinets afternoon. He was on the call tonight on the thunder Spurs game. I had to take this afternoon. It was just such a gentleman, and he's just such a consummate pro and occurred to me that in. Like just occurred to me. But I thought it was important that we pay. Oh my gosh. To play by play guys because they add so much to the broadcast in a guy like Kevin Arlin who's called Super Bowls. Final fours NBA finals guy is literally been one of the voices of sports for this generation on the national level and to be able to chop it up with them. See just to kind of take you back to a young Ryan Kobe coming up the ranks, I l Sabrina and then the mean streets of Lafayette just trying to grind out my existence. My original dream in. All this was to be a play by play guy. I wanted to do. He shoots. He scores. Just like Randy Hahn. You just heard it right there. And that was always kind of my dream and then probably in the late nineties. I started listening to sports talk radio. I'm always listen to are. But I really started to listen to Jim Rome, j t the brick is like that. And then of course, here on can be our Gary and raise Mr. T rod Brooks. I mean, you know, so many guys I loved Ron Rick Perry. I really enjoyed that show obviously crew in Bob FitzGerald back in the day on sports phone in Beato, just some terrific host. And then even a little bit later guys like Damon, Bruce, and, you know, even when I started working here. You know, I have a passion for this stuff. And so I really along the way that dream chain it changed, and I decided I wanted to be a sports talk show, host luck, you guys right because I wanted to have a platform to talk about this stuff every night and to be able to talk about a myriad of different topics and know a play by. Play guy while you have an important job. You really kind of limited. Nobody really wants to hear you talking about stuff other than what you're broadcasting and especially a play by play a color guy can get away with a little more. And I mean sure the best play by play guys are going to be able to tell the story and still bring in enough of their personality. I mean, I personally I love that stuff. But really the art of the play by play guy and being a truly masterful play by play personality. It's something to behold, and it adds so much to the broadcast and to the point where when you hear a bad play by play guy. You're like come on seriously like you almost wanna mute it, you're like embarassed, but we've got I mean here in the bay area forget about it. You listen to the guys that we have here in the bay. You know, you're fits is Tim Roy's your Ted Robinson's goes on and on crew Miller flam. I mean, we know the names. You listen to those guys guys sharks on in Rucinsky. They do a terrific job. Listen to other. Specific teams broadcasters, and I don't care really. Even what sport. I mean. There's some good ones out there. Don't get me wrong. But my point is here in the bay area, we are very spoiled. And it's one of those like where there is no wrong answer because it's a personal thing like who's your favorite broadcasters. So that's kind of my question that I have for you tonight. And we could even narrow the scope of big say favorite broadcaster here in the bay area and favorite broadcaster nationally, maybe favorite broadcaster of all time versus somebody. That's currently active. It can be somebody. That's retired. It could be somebody. That's passed on just who was that guy, man or gal when you heard that person's voice, you knew it was on baby. And and that was right where you wanted to be. And that was exactly the person that you wanted bring you your information and bring you your play by play call so eight away candy are is the number tonight because it's a bit of a slow sports night. I mean, yes, we are waiting for the giants to do something. You wanna do something goes on Bryce Harper. Okay. You got you just. All that money for renaming it what is it? Oracle field. You got all that money for the naming rights. Take that scratch and go sign Bryce Harper. Why not? Oh, wait they brought in far Honda to rebuild and to retool. The franchise. Well, can't you do both. I mean when is it going to be a bad thing to have a guy like Bryce Harper on your roster. I want to go watch him play baseball AT and T next year. And they're gonna get rid of hunter Strickland. They non tendered him. So we're good, right? Bryce harper. But four one five eight away kmby are because it is a bit of a slow sports night. What do you got? I mean, who's your favorite broadcaster, and you can hit me on the text line. I've got a tweet up at Ryan cove, as well just let me know and a little bit later on in the hour. We will pay homage and we've got some great calls. Jacob veal onto the vigilante. I mess around in books me Kevin Harlan, and then he puts together a quality list of guys in calls of some great broadcasters. So we'll have a little fun with that tonight, you'll a little nostalgic, and it's kind of fitting on a night where the San Jose Sharks. Get their one thousand th win. You heard the call Randy Hahn there at the end of the game coming in nice win too. I mean, they had struggled against the Golden Knights in Las Vegas that was their first regulation win there and long overdue, and and they came back and did it which I thought was was important. I mean, the Vegas Golden Knights have been rolling. They've historically owned the sharks historically when they go on the dad trip things don't go very well. So it was great to see tonight. So let's line them up fallen five eight. Kmby our favorite broadcast richer time to shine. Let's go out to Derek in San Jose, Derek. You're on kmby are tonight. How are you? I just wanna say that my favorite broadcaster in the bay area is Dave Flemming. I think he'd underrated doesn't get enough credit and my favorite broadcaster. Elsewhere is a Mike Shannon out of Saint Louis chur, really really really good, mid western voice. I think he's one of the best. So imagine Jack buck I grew up in Missouri and moved out here at a young age. But let me ask you this. And I agree with everything you're saying, what do you think about Joe buck because I'm Joe buck fan, and he draws it's it's such a polarizing subject, but actually like Joe, but I think he's really really good. I just wanna hate him. Yeah. That's fair. All right. And yeah, I mean, Dave Flemming, you know, what I love when I turn on like college football. Or Fleming was doing the Thursday night games last year. They Fleming's got range, man. He's he's he's prepped up. Like, no other day Fleming is a consummate pro so. Yeah, that's a great call, man. Good shout. They're completely professional. Yeah. I agree. Thank you for the call. All right. Thank you, man. Appreciate you checking in. All right. Let's go to Tom in Fresno, full and five eight eight Kamiar, we're doing favorite broadcasters. Let's let's pay a little ole mosh tonight show, our love and appreciation for broadcasters. What do you got Tom? Hey, well, bay area Kuchen kite. They taught me the National League game. Argue with that. I appreciate that. 'cause I you know, it was in my thirties. When I learned it held up better than American League, in my opinion. But I'm a I'm in LA. I'm in LA transplant and I grew down in LA, and my favorite broadcasters of all time were chick Hearn and Bob Miller. Now, you guys might not know who Bob Miller is. I know Bob Miller. Yeah. He he was he was the king's broadcast. Yep. Absolutely. I'm a big hockey fan. So. Yeah. No, he's he he was terrific. Absolutely terrific. But anyway, those are the two that I'll always chick was. Nobody like. Yeah. Chick just a straight up legend was he GM in the Lakers for a while too. Yeah. He had he had a voice there. There's no question. He he showed up. He was at all the drafts. Who's at all the meetings? He was more than just a broadcaster. No doubt. Good stuff. Tom. Checking have a great night. Let's go to Jamie or high man, San Pablo I apologize. If it's one and not the other you're on kmby are I'm used me. How you doing man? What's going on? On rather? What's going on? What do you got for me? Greg papa. Yeah. A and I'll tell you he's coming man east common. San Francisco forty Niners next year. Also, happy. I'm so I mean, I I liked it later on the manner of fan diehard. I eight raiders, but, you know, hearing his boys, you know, even you know, I it's awesome. And knowing they come into the Niners while know that just takes it up a notch. Yeah. And I got I got gotta say I mean, I'm a huge Ted Robinson fan. Both is a broadcaster. And as a man and I loved his calls, but you know, this that's the business in the forty Niners. It's their prerogative who they want call games. And I mean, hey, Greg Papa I mean come on. You know, I'm from the bay old warriors games. I mean pop has been on some of the most iconic calls in bay area sports history. And now that he's coming to join the Niners and be there broadcaster that's pretty bad ass him and Tim Ryan because Tim Ryan it's not even up for debate. For me. He is my favorite color commentator going right now in football like to me that's a mic drop situation. Tim Ryan the way he breaks the game down in his style. It just resonates with me. And he's like the coolest cat you'll ever meet him and Papa they're gonna they're going to do some things together. Exactly. Yes. I agree. Brother. Appreciate you. Checking in let's go out to art in San Jose, art favorite broadcaster. Who do you got? Hey, what's going on? Right. Awesome. I I like Jim Ryan do the national stuff throughout school. Yeah. When he's on FOX. I e crushed it. Now. I gotta say the kid growing up listening to fits and JD. Call those garbage warrior teams in the nineties that was that was pretty good. I'm sorry. You said I'm sorry. You said fits and j b. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Of course. Yeah..

And I played sixty four the next seventy five and we were great friends. We had a great relationship. So why would you change, right? Yes. Because I'm I'm not superstitious. But why would you change around the winning winning four? Now, you mentioned it briefly there you had a great career. And then when you retired you now are an agent and among your clients, you know, Leon dry Seidel vitamer Tarasenko Patrick line. You work at octagon Brock bestseller is under that umbrella. You've got a bunch of tremendous clients you were involved in the players association. I remember did you always know that this was going to be your future. Now. This is the one thing I didn't wanna do or I did. Have much interest in doing. So then had it happen. I went to law school. I moved to Detroit. We're going to move good. Now wanted to move the Labor Department to Detroit, and you know, best laid plans, right? Yeah. That didn't couldn't happen. Bob wanna move to Toronto. I'm from Toronto from Woodbridge and back when it was Canadian military used to run exercises where we used to play right? That's not it was a much smaller city. And. My daughter came into my office at home, and she's always jenness always been incredibly insightful. And she sits down in a chair. And she said dad, I know we're talking about moving, and you know, again, and we'll we've been in Detroit now for about five or six years something like that. And she said, you know, well, always be okay. We'll be together as a family, and that's most important. But if we didn't have to move this time that would be best, and she gets up and leaves like what if you have our bedroom? No this. So that was seriously address a lever. You know, and I just I just couldn't see it at that time. We've moved around about every six or seven years as a hockey it just struck me as not something I wanted to do. And then we had a little bit of free agency at that time. I had. Bob rouse, and Sean Burke key carbon called baba Santa had reached out, and I wound up representing them and Bill McColl graduated from Michigan. I was Turco's goalie coach Turco asked me for two years. I want you to my agent and right? And I said I'm not doing that. Right. And so by the time I got around to doing it here. He had an eight so from I don't wanna be an agent to now. So from I'm interested in this line of work, how much money do you handle how much money do you represent right now when you all of your clients together, our company the hands on guys, you work with ever sat down and said, wow, this is forty million four million right now at any one time. It's usually sixty seventy million dollars in a year four year. Right, right. So it's something like that. Because we've Alan Walsh's with our group at Hankinson, Chris McAlpine, Minnesota, Andy, Scott, rob Hooper started. They're here in Toronto. Ron Rick out west we have European partners. We have two hundred fifty sixty million dollars, and we represent do you? Remember your first negotiation? Oh, yeah. I really do. It was Bob Grosso. And who's the GM signing? Detroit. No, Mike bilberry was in. Linders and Doug Wilson was with the San Jose. So you're doing it by yourself. Brian lot had reached out to me and said, and he sold his business to octagon. He was starting hockey department. And he said, you know, you want you do it with me. We'll whatever whatever, right. And he's but at this point, I'm dealing with Bob's contract. And it's the first one, and you're, you know, it's a free agent deal..

If you watch the game, he is much better than the metrics say, finally, a great question from Mitchell Mitchell's at Tigers of Detroit. Speaking of defense Mitchell wants to know if there's a better defensive outfield than the Red Sox and what are some historically great outfields defensively speaking. No, the Red Sox have the best defense about field right now. And it was interesting. Alexkor told us the story yesterday about how they challenged group to make better decisions with their throws, and they spoke to about it initially there a little bit resistant because they were telling him we don't want you to airmail throws. We don't want you to go for the the great arm throat. We need you hit the cutoff man and who did they bring into reinforce that message? Dwight Evans, one of the great out feelers in Red Sox history who always hit the cutoff man. I saw a lot. When I was growing up as a kid, he had a powerful arm, but he would hit the cutoff man in terms of the best defensive outfield in history in what comes to mind for me, Ellis Valentine hundred. Awesome. Warren Cromartie with the Expos when Barry Bonds play with the pirates, Andy van Slyke was the center fielder. Those guys are great. Bobby Baena was average in right field in the seventies? Yes, playing field playing the monster, like nobody else knew how to play it, Fred, Lynn, and centerfield was great, Dwight Evans in right field. When you look back at the Expos, the nineties Vlad Grissom Moyes is a Lou. That was really good.
