"And the other thing, Mike, they purchased the source at auction for $250,000. Whereas the one coal miners kitten and the three universal hero, those are my other top picks. Those are home breads. And you know, you don't necessarily know what you're going to get. There's nothing else lights on Broadway sold very well and they at least got to kind of see him. Move around a little bit, whereas the home bred here, we don't necessarily know what we're getting, but again, as I've kind of hinted at, this is a spread for me and not a lot of confidence in here. All right, and then in the next leg. So we'll go with the single and the first leg will go deep in the second leg. Leg number three is race number 8, 12, 5 claimer. This is also on the all weather mile in the 16th. Boy, another bit of a head scratcher when I looked at this race. What do you think? Yeah, so this is what I got. I got 70 here. Yeah. The dart lands on starship wizards. Caesar figueroa has had a really, really strong 2022 and basically everything he set out is meant super live. When we end the championship meet at the start of April, we morph into the royal palm meat, which is we're in right now. And you can see his staff. I mean, he's ten for 19 and the exact. He's got 6 wins. He ran the source for 20 off of maiden claiming when and the horse ran okay just a little over his head. Well, now he's back for 12.5. Caesar claimed this one for 16 three back, got the win right away. So to me, Mike, this is the proper level. He's kind of with his friends in here. And he's going to be a decent little price. I put him on top. Certainly silent chaos on the class drop has got to be a major player because he's never been in this light in three starts against winners, but Roth gars on the outside bar amador Sanchez, eavesdropping in class, their sappy and Edgar zayas with dosed in you. This is the other race, Mike, where I just want to kind of ensure I'm going to be alive. And one other thing I'll mention to, especially with ray savin and certainly in race, you know, like you get these races that are deep and competitive and you get, let's say you get a 7 to one home in the rainbow. Sometimes 7 at once play like 15 because if you're talking about the 5th 6th betting choice, sometimes a betting public just can't get there. You know what I mean? And those forces, even though they might be 7 to one on the top board, they're blown up a lot more than that in the horizontals. Yeah, yeah, so race 8 has 9 horses. You said you're 7 deep in there. So who are the two horses who aren't using? The 5 in the 6, Mike are not going to be on that ticket. That's charming Charlie and solar tap. Certainly solar cap. I can't possibly see winning. Charming Charlie. I won't say is impossible, but you got to feed someone. Yeah, right, right. All right, so move on to the second half of the Rainbow Six. Talk to Brian netto who is the handicapper at Gulfstream. He does a great job down there. My main Ron nicoletti is down there as well. And he's getting ready for the Rainbow Six two. So everybody's getting ready for that mandatory payout later today. We're on to race number 9, 9 ten 11 will wrap it up. $35,000 claim or 6 and a half furlongs on the main. Yes, this is important. Check the weather because I think I'll figure it out who's my best bet of the day is better than these are provided. We're on a fast main track. And I just look at his two races that you're seeing in his password performances. You got to dig. It was March 27th when he was third, but yes, I'm a piece apocalypse pico. Both come back to win and then certainly last time, Mike, when he was a really, really good second with a big number. He's also in Ron and I talk about this a lot and I think it's a big deal of these types of races. He's a horse that's won two races and you look through this field. There's only a field of 9 only three of them have done that. So I think that's something that sometimes gets lost when tracks start writing the four and up two wells or three year olds. It's a big deal to have to have one a couple races. He's done it. He just missed last time against similar I'm right back with him. He could stop the early pace, which should be pretty solid and get first run. And if I'm going to go 6 and 7 deep and the other couple races, I've got to have a I've got to have a wedge in here and that's all figure it out. All right, that's race number 9, four to one on the morning line. I'll figure it out a single in there in that leg. So race number ten is the Benny the bull stakes I mentioned that one when we heard the call of Benny the bull winning the 2008 smile sprint handicap that was at the end of our one of this show. And I got a chance to talk about Benny the bull and what it was like to be there that day that he won. He was quite a racehorse and it's great to remember him with this race later today. Yeah, he was a cool dude, man. He was a hard knocker and I agree with you. We got a Florida bread stakes race year, honoring a good one. And we got to check the scratches, Mike, because dean delivers is also entered tomorrow and what would be an easier spot is even on the morning line tomorrow. It's a big deal because obviously it's 9 to 5 on this morning line today and he's the worst of beat. I really like putting a lot. And I'm going to tell anybody that might be on a budget, even if dean delivers. I'm putting will be a single on my backup tickets, Mike, because he's an older horse and he was just second to Willie boy. And I have a hell of a lot of respect for dean delivers. I'm not sure he can be second to Willie boy, who's really, really nice for Jorge Delgado he went up to Saratoga and yeah, he got blitzed by Jackie's lawyer, but who doesn't get what's by Jackie's lawyer, but he was third in the grade one Vanderbilt up there. I thought he acquitted himself pretty nicely. Mike, this is another race. You got to check the weather because it's right there in front of you. You look at puddings form. It's just so rock solid, but what's the one blip to back in the slop when he was a distant third to absolute grit, who I don't really think has a chance on dry land, but you look at the race in the slop two back. He absolutely freaks. So pay attention to the weather right up until we kick this thing off, you know, three 15, three ten, what have you? I can get a fascinating track. I'm going to be very aggressive with putting in here today. All right, let's assume that we are alive, Brian, going into that last leg. It's a $10,000 claimer, 5 and a half for a longs on the all weather. What a challenging race to try to wrap this thing up. There's no doubt about it, Mike.

"Latest on that? Yes. So the plan is I believe after next week of next week's racing, the plan is to renovate the turf course. I don't know how long we're going to be down, but that's the plan right now and to get that back up and running. Certainly, well, well before the championship meet, obviously. But we're going to be down for a little bit. I haven't heard a time frame on that, but that's the plan right now after I believe next week that's going to go in effect. Talking with Brian NATO, who is the handicapper along with Ron nicoletti down at Gulfstream park in South Florida again, no racing at Gulfstream today, racing canceled because of tropical storm. Alex and the heavy rains that storm is putting down in South Florida and we wish all of our listeners down there. Good health and hopefully everybody stays healthy. And safe with that storm coming through. Brian, I'm going to ask you one more question. We got about a minute and a half left. The question of the day that we threw out there on our social media page is which three tracks no longer in existence would you love to visit one more time? And we're getting some great answers. Michael, chimes in and sends us an email and he says that he grew up in Canada, so he's talking about Greenwood racetrack near Toronto was one that he would love to visit. He said, Hialeah would be another one. We're getting votes for Hollywood park, bay Meadows, Suffolk downs. Great answers coming in. It will encourage people to keep them coming. How about for you, Brian? What are the three that you would love to visit? Yeah, I saw that, Mike, actually. That's a good one. Well, I guess I'll take it from a perspective of the ones I never did visit. Hollywood park certainly is probably at the top of the list. I was around there, but it was not running when I was there. They were closed. So that would be it. Hi Aaliyah would definitely be another one Ron has told me so many good stories of in the heyday. There was nothing better than hi Aaliyah and I saw radiohead on the turf course out at Suffolk counts, but I was never I never saw racing there. I never got to see a mass cap because it was kind of in the thick of the Saratoga meet. So yeah, those would probably be the three Mike and I never got to see racing there at all. So to me, it would kind of be that much more at the top of the list because I never was able to go there. And so that would be it, but some certainly some historic tracks that it's sad that some of the places that we no longer have obviously confident just closed down here and with the harness track here about a month or 5 or 6 weeks ago. So yeah, it's sad as we kind of dawn in on a different era of racing. Well, Brian, I hope you get to experience racing at Gulfstream again tomorrow, my friend. Yeah, Mike, it's good to catch up with you. Thanks for having me on. And hopefully we'll catch up with you down the line soon. Look forward to seeing you soon. Brian netto, the handicapper down at Gulfstream park with us here on the equine forum this morning, more votes coming in. Hollywood, Arlington and bay Meadows that comes on Twitter from Luis. Don says Hollywood sportsman's park and Hollywood park, big fan of Hollywood and Craig sends an email and says Woodland's sports park and Hialeah. So how about that? Update you on more results to that question. But keep on coming and we'll pass those along later in the program. When we come back, I'll get you ready for hour number two. It kicks off with Eric Hamill back. The CEO of the national hbp. This is the equine forum on the horse racing radio network. Hi, Tony. Hey, Matthew. There's a reason why Tony steaks in the seafood is my favorite restaurant. It's because I want to feel part of the family. Isn't that right, Tony? That's right. There's a saying on the wall that I truly believe in. There's always room for one more at our table. We just want you to be part of our family..

"And watched him call a race, Pete is incredibly good race collar and it's so funny. I asked him, because he said they're talking with us, and there's like a minute to post. I'm like, do you need to memorize feels like, no, I got them. It's like, okay. Like, you haven't really looked at them, and then calls the race, and I think he looked at his program once during the whole race. He's just got a memory that's insane, but such a sweet guy. I love Pete and so I'm very biased in my praise of him, but it was really cool to get to see him. And what else did we do Dani Gulfstream park? Well, we saw an incredible performance in the finale, which was a first time starter for the Clement barn. So the other thing I wanted to talk about in regards to Gulfstream was the torpedo because it seems like it's I feel like most people thought it was going to be a just in case kind of thing. So when the races are off the turf, they go onto the Tapia. And that was actually the case on Sunday, but they are actually carting a number of races for the tepid and they're doing it throughout the car. It's not like all the torpedo races are really like, I've noticed it at Tampa, like our racing secretary Allison, who is also our secretary at colonial. Like they tend to run usually one, two or three dirt races early on, usually it's the smaller field dirt race, and then after that, it's kind of turf dirt turf dirt. And that's not always the case. There was a couple back to back turfs, but racing secretaries tend to have kind of their habits that way. I remember for years, this is before Martin panza for years though. You can count on the third race at aqueduct or Belmont like being like a really good small field allowance. Like it was like clockwork. And just like for years in Southern California, the last race of the day was kind of a 12 horse field, cheap maiden race, like it just, it was just, I mean, you could count on it. And there's I talked to a few different people with varying opinions on the torpedo. In fact, I was talking to a guy there. And I said, you know, he got something this racy. He's like, nah, I don't know the synthetic yet. I'm waiting. I don't feel confident with it. And you know, I don't mind the synthetic. And I've kind of said that, you know, I like Golden Gate and all this kind of stuff. One thing I will say that at least frustrating as a race viewer is and I say this as someone who's watched fair bit of races. I've watched a lot. I have a lot of trouble kind of telling how my horse is going. If I'm really focused in on a horse and there was a couple times yesterday in the to Peter races, I keep saying yesterday. I'm recording my you guys know the drone. According Monday for Tuesday. So it was Sunday. But I'm watching them, and I'm like, it looks like traveling pretty good. And then very, very slowly, but surely, you're like, oh, maybe it doesn't have anything. No, he doesn't. No. And then all of a sudden he's back into the pit. And you're like, oh, wait, maybe. It's like the gift with that girl who drinks the kombucha where she's like, yeah, no, maybe. Yeah. I can't get a feel for how they're traveling. That's not to say, I don't like it for handicapping, 'cause I feel like sometimes my handicap opinions on it have been fine. But just from a race viewing standpoint, I feel like on dirt, I have a pretty good idea by the far turn. I mean, really, I feel like I have a good idea by the middle of the backstretch. If my horse is running at all, and if I have a shot, and by the far turn of the three 8s, I feel like I have a decent idea of like, look, it's down to these one, two or three. And with the pita, it's just for me, it's not like that. There was a couple where I'm like, oh man, they just walked on the front end and these going good. And then you just swallow it up. And it's not like it was some bum. It was a horse with a good possibilities. But I talked to a couple people and, you know, the opinions were not positive, but I mean, like I said, I get where they're having them for the braces off the turf. I like that. I think people are I think they're getting more of those races than we were expecting, or at least a lot of horse players were expecting. And maybe that was kind of always the plan. Not sure. We'll see though, but yeah, it was a great time going down there. A lot of fun, the weather was good. Margo, my boss had a horse in down there so we got to go in the paddock and talk to kisha Courtney for a little bit, said hi to her. We'll probably get her on the show. I would assume sometimes soon. I feel like we have a case on usually once a year, and we haven't had it on for a while. Brian nadda, who's doing a TV there with Ron nicoletti, talk to Ron. And Ron goes, I thought you were on the West Coast. I forgot about Tampa. Good to see you. Ron is a very, very sweet guy. So it was neat to see him. And got to junior alvarado was riding for Margot, so I got to shake hands with junior, which was cool. And yeah, just enjoyable day. Gulfstream.

"60 $2 and 50 cents. See, I can add. I can do math in my head. But $62 50 cents is not a crazy amount for a lot of players, right? Like it's somewhat reasonable for pick four players. And that's giving them 5 by 5 by one by 5 or in this case 5 by one by 5 by 5 coverage. And obviously there's different ways to go about it. But to add in that fourth difficult leg where you might have to go four or 5 deep, it literally jumps the ticket cost up to $312 and 50 cents because it's 625 combinations. And so I would argue that there's a pretty big prohibitive cost to go from $60 to $300 for a lot of players. A lot of players, I would say a majority of players, 300 is on the north end of what they're willing to spend or lose in a day. I think it's way on the north end of that. Most folks are playing, you know, 5, ten, 15, 20 bucks a race max. And so you know, it's that much more difficult to hit that pick 5 for a lot of reasons. And I think when you add a 5th race that's not only an extra leg, but a tough leg like that first race was that's why you get a much bigger payout. The feature at aqueduct on Saturday, the Garland of rosa steaks, and I was so, so wrong. This race in terms of how I thought it could play out versus how it did, but I should say I was right on how it how it was right on how I thought the race would set up. It just didn't finish. I thought I thought city lady looked like very dangerous lone speed. I thought just Reddit was a really good long shot to come from off the pace. Both those happened for the first half of the race, but not so much the second. Let's take a listen back to John and brielle's call. Here is the garlic of roses. And they're off. It is Citi lady who goes out for the early lead. It is Sadie lady in front. Let me take this call runs in second song rivers on the outside and third call on mischief down at the rail and forth. Just read it as next day and 5th, star front far outside and the early trailer is glass ceiling in 7th. Sadie lady is the leader here by a length and a half. Song river up on the outside, second by ahead. Let me take this call down towards the rail and third the quarter one in 22 and one. It is Sadie lady, the leader here by a little more than a length. Let me take this call down at the rail in second, then comes song river star front on the extreme outside, call on mischief. His advancing now in between horses. And then at the back is a glass ceiling. As the field comes into the stretch, still Sadie lady there, the half 45 and three glass ceiling is gobbling up the slop on the outside. Here comes glass ceiling, who has now taken over the lead. Call on mischief has moved into second. Let me take this call and Sadie lady. Last ceiling with a less to first victory in the Garland of roses. So glass ceiling super impressive took to the slop and rallied from off the pace. They went Sadie lady. I thought, you know, could be dangerous on the lead, 5 and a half to one thought the price was all right and just got overwhelmed by him down the stretch in a glass ceiling, Dylan Davis, who continues to really do well lately. It seems like it seems. And I feel like I've said that for a while now. So maybe he's just doing maybe he's just good. But yeah, really, really nice effort from a glass ceiling, you know, has just gotten just been, you know, they claim for 40,000 back in the spring and as I talked about when we preview this race. You know, this horse was very solid before the claim and charm baker Charlie baker is a very like just one of those incredibly good New York trainers that's year and year out of very solid numbers kind of bar and obviously we talked about the success of Saratoga points toward that meet yada yada yada. But this horse in the Cantor Macy barnum actually is a kind of Machiavelli. But you know, was running high 80s low 90s bridge numbers was competing with that first level allowance. They finally drop in for acclaim. Charlie takes horse jumps up to pretty much that same allowance condition, run second, runs a low 90 number, runs an 81 in the start after like still takes a while to get through that first condition. In fact, took four starts. Finally got through it in pretty big fashion at Belmont and then last time and then the pumpkin pie ran very good behind lady rocket who we know came back in one and it just seems to be in good form right now. And a four year old horse has been around a little bit, but it just seems I mean and it's like I said, the move forward from a numbers standpoint like it's not it's not that much. Like it's not that big of a move forward, but just, you know, that extra little step sometimes at that higher level, it's the difference between winning and losing when they all can run. But really, really nice effort from glass ceiling to get the wind. Down at Gulfstream park, but he's down there in South Florida PETA yellow and Acacia back down at Gulfstream and love all the folks down there. Ron nicoletti, I always do my Nickelodeon impression whenever safi Joseph wins because he'll do it on the show and go. Mister safi Joseph junior so I always do that anytime so everyone's a race wherever I'm calling, which of course is pretty much only here at this point. But you know he's a mom with a Calder and stuff like that. But anyways, the feature, the mister prospector steaks. Let me get back to horse racing and not my run. Nicoletti impression. The mist prosper kind of the first big graded stakes race in the championship meet and obviously sets the tone here as we get into several pretty fun months of racing data Gulfstream, a lot of big Saturdays and looking forward to it..

And then Ron nicoletti walking through that Gulfstream Rainbow Six sequence later today. That was in the previous segment. You have obligatory in the cholula key serve the king in the red Smith and 8 rings in the native diver and then the fourth choice is that all three will win, and right now it is served the king, HR and nation saying 37% of you saying that serve the king is the most likely of the morning line favorites to win in those three races today had a couple of people chime in and say that all three will get beat. "Him? I'm the Peter king. Amazing. The record. So, you know, playing a percentage is there and Chantal in the saddle. So 50%. So he is stepping up the horse. I use cats to dream too, who defeated riveting spirit a couple of starts back. And then a point did it goes to the desert of Bond. I just thought that riveting spirit here is where I like. I did go three deep, but I think you can maybe zero in a plate of percentages. Right there in paper. You know, black and white. Yeah, you know, 50% strike rate. That's almost strong enough, at least just based on numbers to go ahead and single riveting spirit. And Ronnie you're getting 6 to one on the morning line. Yeah, yeah, no, I like this one. You know, the races were so hard. Thank goodness. I don't have to make the morning line anymore. 5 years. You know, but yeah, you know, that's what I'm saying. It's going to be that I really believe it's going to be that kind of day. You know, this last leg, last race in the sequence, race number ten. Boy, this is I'll tell you you could go. This is where I want to hit the all button because I looked at this race and I could not figure out who on earth I thought would win. I played the little rejoin clip. They're leading into your interview of flow motion winning on the 4th of July last year at Monmouth. It was hard to find horses with winds on their page here. Yeah. That was from the Jameson belly button. But yeah, I liked a horse in here today. I'm not going to say love, but I like and it's the three Hawaiian notes and I'll tell you why. If you look at this horse's record, it doesn't show in the paper, perfect two for two on synthetic surfaces. Goes to the Peter world of bond after that claim tries to compete today. First thought he rallied. You go back and ran really nice go line for longs in the main track of extra toga. The barn, you know, is good with new claims. Jesus Rios is okay rider. And I just think the angles I've been using. I look back and say, hey, this horse is one on synthetic track somewhere, you know, Peter welder, I would expect first off the claim. So I like Hawaiian noises today. I use Timmy M in second and digital footprint on my ticket, but why noises, you know, here's the one if I positive about somebody that might win this horse here number three, why noises? Yeah, it's going to be a fun day at Gulfstream. And of course, all this in advance of the championship meet, which were less than what two weeks away from the start of the championship meet? Yes, tomorrow's closing day here are off for about 9 or 11 days. We come back on December 2nd Friday, December 2nd for the championship me. I can't wait. I've been working alone for the last, but I can't wait for a case. Everybody get back so I can get my voice back. Yeah, I believe it. It's been a trying summer for you having to do all that talking and carry the ball again. But I'm going to tell you around there's nobody better down there. You've been doing it a long time. Well, I appreciate that. So let's get lucky today. If we both hit this is deal we have the other guy takes the other guy's dinner. Deal. Absolutely. If not, if not, we both lose. We'll get Larry Coleman to take us to dinner. Yeah, shorthand? No. All right, buddy. Good luck in the Rainbow Six. Bye. All right, Ron nicoletti here on the horse racing radio network, fantastic. "Slow motion four to one on the morning line and the final leg of today's mandatory payout Rainbow Six at Gulfstream. That's right. It all has to go. So a good day to be playing the races down in South Florida and nobody knows that better than our friend Ron nicoletti, who is on top of all the action down there. Fantastic handicapper, he's put his pick 6 ticket together. This interview, as I welcome Ronnie to the show, brought to you by our friends at jellyfish water. Ronnie good morning, my friend. Good morning, Mike. Nice. Nice to talk to you. Excited for this Rainbow Six today. Whenever you get these mandatory payout days, it just kind of it takes things to a new level, doesn't it? Yeah, it really does. The excitement just ratchets up and they're expecting a little over three $1 million to bet into going in. We got 450,000 live money. So, you know, that's adds to it. So it's up for the taking. And what is interesting about this one is this is the first time with a mandatory payout that four of the 6 races are on the new to Peter surface. So I find that totally interesting. And it's a new situation down here. So it's going to take a little bit of handicapping to get this thing done. Have you noticed any trends that folks can keep an eye on when it comes to those races on the tepida? Yeah, you know, we've been watching them and in the beginning, the first couple of weeks because the track has to settle. It was just basically mid race stock is or closers, and it seemed to level out. We had like just a spurt where four or 5 races of the FrontRunner one. So it seems to be loving it out and there's no like an old bias, we say, oh, it's speed. You got to have your speed. It seems to be pretty good. It's really a jockey's race on the torpedo. With the fact that we have the new whip rule. So you just got to sort of get your horse in the right position to make that charge down the stretch. The most amazing thing about it, Mike, is the second day it was and we had one of these belly washes here in South Florida, which we've been dealing with and that track was perfect. It was one of the same I don't know if this is going to work out and it has been fed path so far. As far as when it's raining. Now it's a slow track. We know that it takes 36 months to a year to get it to where they want it. So it's been fun. Yeah, that is one of the benefits of an artificial racing surface that Ronnie is the plan that say, for example, the championship meet, if we get a day where it pours down rain like you just talked about. And let's face it, they happen in South Florida. If we get a date like that, races are taken off the turf. Will they be moved to the tepida surface so that some of these Terra forces stay in and we keep bigger fields? Yeah, absolutely. That's the plan. And I don't think they're going to write the plan is not to write that many to Peter races for in the card, maybe one a day, but it's basically going to be used for exactly what you said. The last two days here in South Florida, in the afternoon, it's been pouring, you know? So we were making a joke yesterday that they should have taken the main track races up and put them on. It was perfect yesterday. You know what, it's a new situation. It's been fun handicap and, you know, sometimes you scratching your head, but that's what makes it all more fun. When you look at a day like today, and you have that mandatory payout in the Rainbow Six. Change the way you approach structuring your ticket and the horses that you choose? Yes. Because absolutely. I wanted to tickets I put together is what I can afford basically during the week. I don't like to put up a $200 ticket. For the folks out there, the best if they don't leave me to tell them if they spent $200 on a ticket, so I like to keep it $40 $30. But when it comes to day like this, you know, it's beautiful question. Not dealing with any takeouts or anything. You guys send it in. So I'll get a $100 ticket as I'll put it together. Now if I get a partner or something like that. And you know, the key to this I found is you got to find that one race where you might be able to single or use two horses and go deep in some of these races that are just so hard to handicap. So, you know, that's my thought about it. I try and zero in on something I really like. You know, best bet or whatever. And I try and build my ticket around that. You know, after you ended up at the end of the wait, I got to go back and change this a little bit, you know? Let's start with race number 5. That's the first race in the sequence. We'll walk through all 6 races and kind of get your thoughts on who you think might be live in those races and the 5th race here we go. Mile in 70 yards, $20,000 claiming event and how winters are two lifetime. Maybe for a lot of people a bit of a head scratcher, tell me about this one. Well, you know, I went with the four horse and Katie's dream girl actually like this was a lot today. 6 to one in the morning line. I'll tell you about wheeling back in 6 days. So just ran 6 days ago. But dropped to the 20 level and I like the fact that this horse is stretching out, broke out with at the start.

"That's what I'm saying. And so that's where I think part of the industry has to look at you need to frame the, you should not be afraid of framing issues properly and going against its critics and trying to show them that now the sport is that bad. Yes, they're bad apples of the sport as though that about it. The bad apples need to be removed from the game. We need to devout somewhere we can. But there's also I think when you walk through a backstretch of a racetrack, especially at the diners circuit, you see nothing but lovely care for these animals. And you wish that's kind of the image that would get out a little bit more of a really how these animals are really treated as pets and loved by the people and it's certainly not the image people take what they find some kind of isolated incidence of water. So again, it is a question of trying to educate people. And show people what the sport really is. Yeah. Yeah, you can head over to blood horse dot com to read all of bob's articles on the islanders on naira and their approach and their philosophy when it comes to the arena. And all of the different pieces he produces there for blood horse and all of his different stories does a fantastic job. You can follow him on Twitter at bob Y halt that's bob EH ALT. Bob listen, appreciate the visit this morning. Great stuff. And we'll catch up soon, my friend. Thank you very much, appreciate the chance to talk with you. All right. Bobby Holly here on the horse racing radio network. Yes, some great comments. And I have said that. You've heard me say it on this show many many times over the years that you better defend your player. And when people come after racing, there are so many positives. So many good things. There are bad things too. But there are so many positives that outweigh the negatives. Unfortunately, the negatives always seem to overwhelm the general public and that's all we hear about, but the sport itself would benefit from a PR firm that would get out there and promote the sport in a very positive light. And point out, not make things up a point out factually. All of the good things that take place in the sport of thoroughbred racing. The behind the scenes stories that you never hear about. It's what we try to do. Every other week here on the show with unsung heroes, and let you know about the folks that make our sport a success that never find themselves in the headlines. But the sport itself has so many positive, so many great things to promote and again a positive PR firm that could get the word out would certainly be welcome for thoroughbred racing. No doubt about it. All right, when I come back, I'm going to talk a little bit more about the other races taking place today, including the chalukya Churchill downs and get you ready for Ron nicoletti. He comes up right around 9 35 eastern he will walk through that pick 6 sequence, mandatory payout it, Gulfstream today. He's going to walk through all 6 races for you coming up in about ten minutes. This is.

"Of day. You know, this last leg last race in the sequence race number ten. Boy, this is I'll tell you you could go. This is where I want to hit the all button because I looked at this race and I could not figure out who on earth I thought would win. I played the little rejoined clip. They're leading into your interview with flow motion winning on the 4th of July last year at Monmouth. It was hard to find horses with wins on their page here. Yeah, that went from the James to belly button. But yeah, I liked a horse in here today. I'm not going to say love, but I like and it's the three Hawaiian notes and I'll tell you why. If you look at this horse's record, it doesn't show in the paper. Perfect two for two on synthetic surfaces. Goes to the Peter world of bond after that claim tries to compete today. First thought, you rallied. You go back and ran really nice gold line furlongs in the main track of its average toga. The barn, you know, it's good with new claims. You know, Jesus Rios is okay rider. And I just think the angles I've been using. I look back and say, hey, this horse is one on synthetic track somewhere, you know, Peter welder, I would expect first off the claim. So I like Hawaiian noises today. I use Timmy M in second and digital footprint on my ticket, but Hawaiian noises. You know, this is the one that somebody that might win this horse here number three or wine noises. Yeah, it's gonna be a fun day at Gulfstream. And of course, all this in advance of the championship meet, which were less than what two weeks away from the start of the championship meet? Yeah, tomorrow's closing day here are off for about 9 or 11 days. We come back on December 2nd Friday, December 2nd for the championship mate. I can't wait. I've been working alone for the last, but I can't wait for occasion. Everybody get back. So I can get my voice back. Yeah, I believe it. It's been a trying summer for you having to do all that talking. And carry the ball again. But I'm going to tell you around either there's nobody better down there. You've been doing it a long time. I appreciate that. So let's get lucky today. If we both hit this deal we have hit it. The other guy takes the other guy's dinner. Deal, absolutely. If not, if that we both lose, we'll get Larry Coleman to take us to dinner. Yeah, shorthand? No. All right, buddy. Good luck in the Rainbow Six. Bye. All right, Ron nicoletti here on the horse racing radio network fantastic. One of the real good guys in the.

"We'll see how it plays out. So you got to really watch the main track. Peter, that's the beauty of it. You know, it doesn't matter if it rains. Race 6, the second leg of the Rainbow Six, 6 furlongs on that main track. It's a $50,000 maiden claimer. Another well balanced field here. How about this race? Yeah, I went with the two dignified he's turned it back to the three quarters today. Responded to the equipment changes the blinker's office and he became a new horse. It was a really well meant second in there. You getting taco Lopez in the saddle today. Thought that was, you know, the one to be used also the analogical, the daughter of a classic empire. A sappy Joseph junior neck unsigned, just the other day Edgar had four wins on the 8 race card and chaffe had three of those four wins. So I'm not leaving him off the tick. And then I used the outside horse also on outside the 11 prompt that was the daughter of more than ready. You know, the barn is okay, chantel in the saddle, but I think the race goes through the two dignified. All right, so we're two by three so far to kick it off four 11 with 2.8 11. Race 7, third leg, halfway home $20,000 claimer myelin 16th on that to PETA's surface. Tell me about this one. I went with the 5 midnight Bella is hoping for clear and Sealy had some actually had nowhere to run in the stretch last time out so a little bit of a trip note here finished fourth at the same level in Disney for Gerald Brooks. Miguel Vasquez in the saddle today. So I thought that was a logical one, but I also used little bit go to goes to the Gilbert desert performance like 29% first off the claim widow leading ride at God and then map them up Timmy hills is coming from vomit. It ran really good on the turf of this. So I thought maybe that horse had a shot to run on the all weather today. Yeah, that's one of the unknowns, right? I know they say turf horses run better on the synthetic. It was like that when they had it in at keenland and you look at turfway and tracks like that. But you really don't know for sure if the horse is going to handle that new surface. No, you make a great point, then you show me the stats. I haven't seen it. You know what I mean? We've been keeping record and they can come from. They could be on any previous surface in red, okay? They just kind of like it. Well, the nice thing is is that you're getting 15 to one on the morning line on map them up. So if the horse likes it, you can really put yourself with a little bit of distance in between some of the other folks who are playing that Rainbow Six. I know it's a mandatory payout. But boy, you pop a couple of those long shots, and you're looking at the lion's share. Yeah. You know, nice payoff. I mean, even if you just get what on days like this, if you got a decent ticket, you could make 8 $9000 even if you share it with a bunch of people, you know? Walking through today's mandatory Rainbow Six sequence with Gulfstream analyst Ron nicoletti here on the horse racing radio network. We've taken a look at the first three. Race 8 is the fourth leg. It is a $6250 claiming event. 62 50, one mile on the main track. What do you think, Ronnie? Yeah. These horses take turns beating each other. So I went with mister Tito's. It's going to try and make it tuna in a row. He really had a good performance last night breaking from post 12 he rallied 5 wide. I used here comes a bullet with bob hes junior. I like to work the jockey Edwin Gonzalez does. And then what do you do with doctor Jay, who is solid and you go back and look at this race, he looked like he went into overdrive at the 16th pole and he came almost caught mister Tito at 20 to one. So I use those three. Here's the race where if you got that single, I think this is where you got to go deep. I'm going three deep and I can I can I'll listen to anybody in this particular spot. Do you ever hit the all button in any of these races in your Rainbow Six if you can afford it? Yeah, yeah, definitely. You know, if I could find those two singles, you know, you try and do that. That's the great thing, but I'm telling you, there's no I do not see a single here today for myself. I'm only speaking from my ticket. So if you can, more power to you, anybody out there. Yeah, it's a tough sequence. Race 9 is a mile in the 16th optional claimer 20,000. It's the penultimate race in the sequence. Another race where you can go a couple of different ways. I would imagine. Yeah, I went with 6 ripped and stepping up the competition, defeated those 22 lifetime claims, but the tech checked that out. David Floyd is ten for 20 50% on the Peter. We call him the to Peter king. I was just walking in with him today this morning and making fun of me goes, how come you don't have me on him? Amazing. Wreckage. So, you know, playing the percentages there and Chantal in the saddle. So 50%. So he is stepping up the horse. I use cats to dream too, who defeated ribbon spirit a couple of starts back. And then a point did it goes to the desert of Bond. I just thought that riveting spirit here is where I did go three deep, but I think you can maybe zero in a plate of percentages. Right there in paper. You know I'm black and white. Yeah, you know, 50% strike rate. That's almost strong enough. At least just based on numbers to go ahead and single riveting spirit. And Ronnie you're getting 6 to one on the morning line. Yeah, yeah, no, I like this one. You know, the braces were so hard. Thank goodness. I don't have to make the morning line anymore. 5 years. You know, but yeah, you know, that's what I'm saying. It's going to be that I really believe it's going to be that kind of day. You know, this last leg last race in the sequence race number ten. Boy, this is I'll tell you you could go. This.

"Stress level. So yeah, I'm sure Pete Miller needs a break. But much like I've talked about with Bob Baffert, due process in your day in court means something here in America. If you go back to December 27th of last year, Pete has had 6 horses, die in his care. About half from musculoskeletal, injuries, and half. From sudden death hemorrhage. Without knowing any of the details surrounding these, it would be inappropriate, and way out of line in my opinion for me to comment much further on that situation. But I will say this this is probably the right time for Pete Miller to step back. Look in the mere reevaluate and figure out what the heck is going on. Because that ain't normal. Something is going on within that program. To cause these catastrophic injuries. I'm not buying peat statement that these things are not part of the reason. He's stepping away, or not the sole reason he stubborn. Maybe not the sole reason, but certainly they have to be part of it. They certainly play into the health concerns, he stated, four stepping away. It all goes hand in hand. But we wish Pete the best and hope he's going to be okay going forward, he will take a break, he will spend time with his family he will focus on his health, and get a chance to step back and reevaluate the philosophy the approach the program, and see if we can figure out what's going on there. The race of the day this afternoon at aqueduct is the grade two red Smith handicap. Pretty good race, too. Tim wilkin is going to join me in a few minutes to talk about that race and spend some time remembering. Pulitzer Prize winning sports writer, red Smith. Going to talk about the man who the race is named for. And with Thanksgiving coming up on Thursday, and this being the time of year that so many people are giving thanks and helping others, I thought it would be nice to talk with jockey, raji mirage on this Saturday morning about his new endeavor. It's called road Jackie. If you haven't heard of it. He is helping to streamline the process of getting food to people, in his native Jamaica. Somewhat of a Uber eats type of situation is what it sounds like. But I'm going to ask Rajiv about it. And what he's doing there in Jamaica to make it easier for people to get food. Rajiv is going to join me at 8 40 eastern. The New York islanders. Of the NHL are going to open their new hockey arena tonight on the property of Belmont park. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out logistically. With game day traffic, they'll have concerts there too, concert traffic. And of course the race traffic being right next to Belmont park. If you've ever tried to get to a big race day at Belmont, coming across the cross island. It can be a bit of a challenge. If you're not there early. And I'm going to talk to turf writer and blood horse contributor Bobby halt. At 9 o'clock eastern to discuss how that relationship might work out between the islanders and Belmont park. That comes up at 9. 9 35 Gulf Stream analyst Ron nicoletti is going to be here to walk through today's mandatory pick 6 sequence. In South Florida, has to be paid out today. Ronnie will take a look at all 6 races at 9 35. Our three kicks off at ten eastern in the room with Sean clancy. Today, a special visit, unique visit, probably a better way to describe it. With former jockey, now Charles town's top trainer, Jeff Franco. Yeah, he started like so many trainers do. As a writer, made the transition, and Shawn talked to him about that at ten eastern. Ten 25 curb Becker takes you on his weekly stroll through racing history, presented by lane's end, and keenland, and at 10.3 I ask they answer Dell Roman's Tim wilkin. They will both be here to debate so many of the topics that are happening in the sport today, including. More on Pete Miller. That comes up at 10.3 Eastern Time. Poll question today, which morning line favorite is most likely to win today. There are only those three greatest stakes so I thought we would focus on the three greatest stakes taking place in the United States today. Which morning my favorite is most likely to win today. Obligatory in the chalukya served the Obligatory in the served the king in the red Smith, or 8 rings in the native diver out of delmar. Which morning my favorite is most likely to win today. You know, I'll give you a fourth choice too. All three will win. How's that? Four choices for you. Go to HR N Twitter, horse racing radio network on Facebook, or you can email the show. Mike at horse racing radio .NET and let me know your thoughts about that poll question today. Should be interesting. You see how those responses come in. None of those horses are overwhelming favorites. They're not two to 5 on the morning line. So the three stakes are well balanced. And I have to think that one of those, maybe two of those horses are going to get beat. I can see a scenario where one maybe maybe all three get beat. I guess maybe that's another you can only give four choices. On Twitter. So we're not going to be able to give you that one, but maybe if you think all three get beat, let me know that too. Just chime in with a comment, or shoot me an email, and let me know your thoughts which morning line favorite is most likely to win today, obligatory in the chalukya serve the king in the red Smith, 8 rings in the native diver, or fourth choice all three will win. All right, when I come back, I'm going to kick things off with Tim wilkin with take a look at the red Smith handicap at aqueduct today and he will talk about the man red Smith, raji mirage follows him and our number one. "A good day to be playing the races down in South Florida and nobody knows that better than our friend Ron nicoletti, who is on top of all the action down there fantastic handicapper. He's put his pick 6 ticket together. Yeah, it really does, the excitement, you know, just I ratchets up and you know, they're expecting a little over three $1 million to bet into today to go in. We got 450,000 live on each so, you know, that's adds to it. So it's up for the taking. And what is interesting about this one is this is the first time with a mandatory path that four of the 6 races are on the new tape surface. So I find that totally interesting. And, you know, it's a new situation down here. So it's going to take a little bit of handicap, and you get this thing done. Have you noticed any trends that folks can keep an eye on when it comes to those races on the tepida? Yeah, you know, we've been watching them and in the beginning, the first couple of weeks, because the track has to settle. It was just basically mid race stalkers or closers, and it seemed to level out. We had like just a spurt where four or 5 races of the FrontRunner one. So it seems to be leavening out and there's no like an old bias, we say, oh, it's speed. You got to have your speed. It seems to be pretty good. It's really a jockey's race on the torpedo. With the fact that we have the new whip rule. So you just got to sort of get your horse in the right position to make that charge down the stretch. The most amazing thing about it Mike is the second day it was in we had one of these belly washes here in South Florida, which we've been dealing with and that track was perfect. It was one of the guys saying I don't know if this is going to work out and it has been fantastic so far. As far as when it's raining. Now it's a slow track. We know that, you know, it takes 36 months to a year to get it to where they want it. So it's been fun. Yeah, that is one of the benefits of an artificial racing surface. Ronnie is the plan that say, for example, in the championship meet, if we get a day where it pours down rain like you just talked about and those, let's face it, they happen in South Florida. If we get a date like that, races are taken off the turf. Will they be moved to the tepida surface so that some of these Terra forces stay in and we keep bigger fields? Yeah, absolutely. So we were making a joke yesterday that they should have taken the main track races all people put them on. It was perfect yesterday. You know what, it's a new situation. It's been fun handicap and it, you know, sometimes you scratching your head, but that's what makes it all the more fun. When you look at a day like today, and you have that mandatory payout in the Rainbow Six. Does that change the way you approach structuring your ticket and the horses that you choose? Yeah, because absolutely. When the tickets I put together is what I can afford basically trying to wake. I don't like to put up a $200 ticket. You know, for the folks out there, you know, the best. You know, they don't leave me to tell them if they spent $200 on a ticket so I like to keep it $40 $30. But when it comes to day like this, you know, it's beautiful question, not dealing with any takeouts or anything. You know, you guys send it in, so I'll get a $100 ticket as I'll put it together. Now if I can get a partner or something like that. And you know, the key to this I found is you got to find that one race where you might be able to single or use two horses and go deep in some of these races that it just so hard to handicap. So, you know, that's my thought about it. I try and zero in on something I really like. You know, best bet or whatever. And I try and build my ticket around that. You know, after you add it up to the end, you then say, go to a wait, I gotta go back and change this a little bit, you know? Well, let's start with race number 5. That's the first race in the sequence. We'll walk through all 6 races and kind of get your thoughts on who you think might be live in those races and the 5th race here we go. Miles 70 yards, $20,000 claiming event. Now when there's a two lifetime maybe for a lot of people a bit of a head scratcher, tell me about this one. Well, you know, I went with the four horse and Katie's dream girl actually like this horse a lot this today. 6 to one in the morning line, I'll tell you about wheel and back in 6 days. So just ran 6 days ago. But dropped to the 20 level. And I like the fact that this horse is stretching out, broke out with at the start and then showed some rally in the end and trained by Ralph Knicks and written by Chantal Sutherland. It was just been on fire lately and she I think she's time for most wins. I'm talking about this is on the tap most wins on the tape with 13 or 14 or something like that. I just think this horse is 6 to one, actually made this one my best bet on the cardinal my long shot on card today at 6 to one. So I thought that horse had a chance. I mean, you got to sort of use quite strength any police to junior roses started, but you're right. So this is where if you find that single, you got to go deep somewhere because it's not an easy one to start. So is Katie's dreamgirl strong enough to single in the spot for you? Almost. You know, you go to the probably in there with the quiet strength to I like for Eddie pleased the junior, you know, just one ran back. I like the fact that this horse is turning back and what I've been doing is I've been sort of key in a horse that already have a race over the surface, you know? So I like to see how they ran come back and they've been having some success with that. And that's the case with the 11 quite strength. What's the weather like down there today, Ronny? What do we expect the main track and turf to be? Well, the main track is fast right now, but as I said, we've been bombarded.

"Edition and start with some aqueduct chatter and go back to the Saturday card, which it was so funny as at some point Saturday I pulled over, you know, run through my Twitter while I'm getting gas or dinner or whatever it was and I see David Aaron going to tweet something to the effect of like another crazy result. I don't know what to like completely mystified. And so start looking through the results later at night and I see a 46 to one in a 7 horse field, where the other longest shot was 9 to one. So not only the last choice, but like the way last choice. And I'm like, okay, well, maybe it's that he was talking about, then I get scanned further. Oh, there's a two to 5 after that. But then the feature, the already schiller, obviously a crazy result. Now, a few scratches, obviously, there's some MTO. So field pass ended up not going. But they ended up with a field of 9 and they already shiller going a mile on the turf, which it looks like on TV that they start like a tiny little bit in the chute, but really I don't think it's that. That exaggerated. I always I'm excited about Tampa because we have the turf shoot and I remember at Gulfstream park west, loving those races, but also realizing how many subtle trips come out of that shoot because you're essentially it's like a two and a half turn race, if not a full three turn race. And so losing ground coming out of that shoe, and then going right into the next the first turn, the quote unquote first turn, it can really not be great. And you obviously get horses that shuffle around a little bit and so you'll get some funny trips in these races. They already shiller. Like I said, they kind of start at least it looks like on TV like they start as the track is straightening away. But I remember it Gulfstream west they would show the like the overhead view like on the when they would do the replay show Ron nicoletti would come on and he would do the track and weather conditions. I love how Ron talks. He's got kind of that horse voice. Mister safi Joseph junior. He always holds the last name. He's the best. But he would do like the track weather conditions and they would show kind of an overhead shot of the turf course and you would see that coming out of the shoot like they really don't straighten into the lane. Like it's kind of a rolling turn into the lane and then right into the turn. And obviously, it's a little different from track to track and aqueduct. There is a little bit of straight, but not a whole lot. And so these races I always love to watch them because I think you can find some some interesting trips and stuff. But like this race, the Artie schiller kind of ended up proving to be like the antithesis of all that thought because it just did not work out that way. Sent off as your favorite of my little charcoal. There we go. Set off is your favorite flavius down toward the inside with Jose Ortiz, of course for Chad Brown at the judgment. I tell your daddy Tom Morley's horse, who's great at stakes winner over the summer. In here, march to the arch in here. And wide open bedding group of sorts. It was almost 5 to two on flavius is the favorite and a few bombs as well. But let's take a listen back to John and brielle's call of the Artie schiller from Saturday at aqueduct. And they're off. It is Ronaldo who's going out for the early lead flavius is down at the rail now, bodie cream moves up on the outside. They come under the line for the first time and it is Ronald the leader. Bodhi creams on the outside and second and then it is flavius and tell your daddy, they are heads apart, third and fourth. Olympic runner is in 5th position. Looking to come through with the rail is on March to the arch on the outside is NYC and at the back of the pack breaking the rules and mandate. The opening quarter mile over the good turf in 24 and three 5th seconds and it is Ronald showing the way here leading by a length and a quarter. "You send a horse oak long you know you're going to have bob that deal with you know that's your that's your Rhode you decide to take you know what's going to be sending something there and it's GonNa be pretty good if you wanna go to Santa Anita running saying he's which hardly anyone ever does you know it's going to be rough out there if you WANNA go if you're at war if your in stream you're going to run in that there would be wealth. You run well all the good sign because that program produces perhaps Watches triple crown finishers over the years so so when you think about all these races it's interesting there vice for by little. I don't say not against anything. I'm not against the days. It was a very good race. I'm not believe me. I'm not saying that. And just saying when we judge coming out of these races where we wanna put horses what happens in the history of the race. That's how Oh hi WanNa rank votes race there that makes more sense no great and they you want I mean he. He leveled out the way he looked like he was getting after he was definitely. Oh and he's a serious We already know from the turf side when if and when he goes back back for now argue owner simone synthetic he gives you. Think factored package if you get a most round out the resume Johnny What else what else? Amongst the particularly the stakes action and and there were also plenty of of maiden races including Tampa that that Fletcher that pleasure maiden winner. Texas swing That one going a mile forty Hasn't gotten a lot of notoriety but got or the square. Figure doing it and keep an eye on on on that one You had the pair of our delicate we're going to talk to Arno When we're done with you at at the bottom of the hour Arna Delacour is GonNa join us and he in Danielson Nielsen Tena? Pairing up with the endeavour wind and the suncoast not a good start to the season for stormy and The that They'll have to regroup Going forward we just talked to Barbara Mitchell. I think I was very disappointed because she almost lets us. Just not look what users Tarantula too short and I know as a trainer Marchesi he's not aggressive getting ready for the first race back. So maybe maybe he thought and good horses. Horses will fool trainers. It happened a lot. Trainers don't want to be too hard on a long year Good orces will do things easily. So they think they're more pets and they actually are so they don't you know they don't push him and then turns out they weren't we thought you had and sometimes it happens in the sea off what that's why pay off layoffs. If you're going to be a good horse the horse player you're going to try and beat a good horse off well the race and sometimes it traded crank them up and sometimes taught trainer. Get School. Think you've gotta fit enough to beat. The competition was GONNA face turns out he was what happened there. She's good she's good. Wait for for the the second outing of the season What we should do before it gets too late to? I want I want to get some reaction from you on the future. Sure Wager numbers and will John. White has got some thoughts to but also let's Talk About Ron Nicoletti. And the Nice job he did and I'm sure he knocked knocked a few people out of beat the host for the looking for the sweep opportunity. Knock out the host now since big week for the host. Run Nicoletti Winner this week. Jeffrey Coleman Hundred seventy to fifty fifty was his total. He gets thousand dollars weekly prize Mar Gravel. The second I think he's a wealthy so he's not coaching now so he's got what time to Play Racist Smart Gravel. I don't know if that's that's real or not. I have no idea fifty dollars. Total seven hundred and fifty. Yeah our Reis. Joseph Piazza one hundred and fifty fifty Two hundred and fifty dollar prize. I just think it's kind of interesting that he he says the same name as coaches at Tennessee. Titans but maybe that is the coaches at Tennessee. Titans you know he was he was in new. We're England come to think of it. He was a player in England and and I remember hearing about him being at the Derby. Can I also remember.
