"Here we are in your workshop. And there's just the two of you you're not a major industry and we're talking about what is a big idea. Just as the same as electric cars might be began idea. What's going to happen. How do you scale up from sleep. You gotta remember we scaling too so at the moment. Approximately thirty thousand outboard engines sold in australia every year. One percent of that market is three hundred engines. We can easily cope with that and we believe that because of the costs upfront costs involved. The engines themselves. Aren't that much more expensive than a four-stroke with electric start but you do have to buy your batteries upfront because those upfront costs we think that one percent of the market is a realistic target. We've also been getting a lot of enquiries from the south pacific where the islands are not only very worried about climate change and have lots of old two strokes which we can retrofit but also fuel is very expensive over in the islands. So we were talking to solomon's where it's eighty five solomon dollars a liter which means a typical boat outing for them for transport was about six hundred dollars. Solomon which is about two fifty australian dollars so when you start to look at those huge fuel costs over there. They'll be a way of aston sitting up distributors who retrofit old engines and that will give us more volume because other people will be feeding them to our leaks. Now you told me in the beginning yours. Just about the only outfit in australia. What about the rest of the world. What are they doing all right. So electric boats are in in the infancy. There are some makers it probably be ten fifteen makers now in the world most of them have concentrated on loa kilowatt because of the battery limitations. There are a few now doing higher kilowatt engines. The first ever e- regatta in the will was held in venice this year. And there's a electric boat. Awards called the gussie where they put up their boats. So it starting to happen but it's very very early days and we're one of the few people working in the logical awards. Are you doing it. Mainly for good of the world or also to make a living. Well we'd like to make a living. But i'm not gonna lie there but we're both older now. So therefore we are more motivated by shifting the doll and also the shia pushback that you get. I get trolled all the time on social media by people who love petrol noisy engines. So there's a little bit of triumph around knowing that eventually we'll have to persuade them you've been in the trade a long time and normally paps around this age you'd be thinking more of gentle live taking it easy. You sometimes a bit nervous about what's going to happen. Next are always been pretty adventurous. Person you know. Been to sydney-to-hobart menu of rice vote. So he used to build surf boats and i gaze and i've had large businesses which vein exhorting decide the least well it l. When his that first boat going to go into the water. It's not the first boat. We've had put a large range of sea trials with other boats including ribs inflatables knees and little displacement boats but for the runabout which is a pretty exciting prospect. The next two weeks it will be on the water and we will be testing and drawing and disability testing and then the jet ski you see in front of us. We've got that planned for sea trials in spring. Good luck thank you. Lyndale johnson of e clause outboards in new south wales with engineer. Ron kelly another example. Perhaps of what could be a mega industry in the regions. They tell me that many folk worry about the price and the traveling range of e boats. But that's been sorted says linnell so as climate looms ever more worryingly. Here's yet another answer in the works..

"Today's sanchez about nature. All around you and your neighbors young and old do remarkable things. I stop here in new south wales in shade flu boats. Ron kelly over the seventy seven. Now haven't asked linnell johnson her age but she used to be in the abc. And work with ray martin. The both making the first bigger electric boats the outboard motor industry worldwide is worth about nine billion dollars a year. Now and soon maybe up to twelve billion then they'll walk over. There is that boat that is actually a pride cheetah. It's an older boat about fourteen feet and it's been converted to be the first electric runabout in australia. And when did that happen. It's happening now. It has a fifteen kilowatt engine on the back it in thirty horsepower frame and we converting that to ford controls and we've built a battery box to contain the lithium ion portable batteries that go in which the batteries from we get them custom made in china the engines. We make here from components that are all over the world but the lithium ion batteries and these are all ninety six volt which is not a common voltage and so it's very specialized to get the battery. Management systems petrol or internal engines are polluting. They are noisy and they not the future so just like electric vehicles are starting to come into people's consciousness. As a way to mitigate climate change and also have an amazing experience. I mean if you've driven an electric hybrid car if you're lucky enough to have setting tesla. The experience is so much better than a petrol engine and this is the same it makes boating much more pleasant for the users well as a tremendous environmental impact. Effect well some people like to go. Choke juggle just niro on the water. Them they as well well they do. And obviously this people we won't convince however there's a lot of people who find that particularly silence. They've been aetna a lovely day sailing and then they're go to put a noisy engine on as opposed to keeping quant. This few and people have died from petrol. Fumes and then of course there's the marine life. Well let me talk to ron. About how come. He is skilled enough to be able to do this or more getting at rod. There's plenty of people who are doing it but you kinda boy one. They haven't reached commercial situation. Where we have. We've got a full ryan to mars. There's all perform credibly run. How come you are skill to do it. Well i did win roy. Left school did what the thing was to do. Then if you can get a tried. So i decided by my engineer so i looked indictments by forty bookshop did moi. What am i. V engineering course for equals in vomiting and the united is of course. She had to do everything. 'cause we're developing very quickly but it was all direct current generators not old night as and all things and we had to be electricians as well as engine reconditioning so here you have six boats or more. And you've got the first one in australia over there. And you've got some which rather more supercharged i can see. That's a jet ski off started on that the fossil that go. Well we're expecting to go at about a hundred k's. How do you charge these batteries. Simple battery charge there. It is there. How would you take two to three hours. And it depends on how the charges on the overnight none. I just do it when you need to. Do you know when you need to do it and do it anytime secret. Is we use a top range in the battery so we haven't got to start from scratch. It's not a dead battery but but hang on i. Am you naved. So i take one of your boats. Get out to the middle of the lake. And i leave something on which shouldn't be on and he goes flat. What do i do. Next is a competent. That because he's out of here you just that's which they and you turn this throttle control. That's it you can't leave anything on 'cause there's nothing really leave on and if you lift that on that once which it. It still takes weeks to use any charge congo flat now. You thought really got flip boy era. And what if. It's just a glitch because in when it comes to people like me if this machine that can go wrong will go wrong. So what do you do if you're out in the middle of the lake and something needs to be fixed. Well if you did with your petrol matter when you're in the middle of the lake and something needs to be fixed you grab some. Moore's way that's right. Let me get vanilla and ask her about the way in which they might be an interest. Have you had many people call up and say how about it. I get an inquiry about every two days for my website but the really big indicator for us was in queensland we wind up and launched officially in june at the sanctuary cove international boat show and we had a stand there and we were sixteen deep for four days. That's the level of interest. Now these people are at the early days of looking. Many of them are never seen in electric outboard and their own east to the little. Trolling one's not these powerful proper replacements for horsepower us engines but the feedback was amazing and we also did a trip to queensland and we through facebook organiz for people who interested in destroying them. Because i wanted rely feedback and again. We were amazed. They were so blown away. I think the ease of operation and the power that they head. That was a really good indicator that this is gonna take off. So when is it going to take off what you're planning so far. I well we selling direct to the end user. We packaging them up and sending them anywhere in australia so early days and small now batteries are the only limitation however we have managed to do what we call a typical boating outing for every engine and we've packaged up the batteries that way so you can buy more batteries if your pockets are deep enough but we are just saying. Look if you want a typical two or three hour boating outing. This is the engine. This is the battery you should by now. I can't help noticing that here we are in your workshop. And there's just the two of you you're not a major industry and we're talking about what is a big idea. Just as the same.

I'm old and i've been traveling around the world for billion years you know and i've been grateful for that but it's not. There's something very nice about just being well. Here's the thing. I was having a conversation with friend today. So many people i know are moving out of london. Because you don't need to be now. I moved out a few years ago. I'm still only half an hour from central london. It takes me. I can go from my house to central. London can be moved to my house having my tuna sesame in an hour. Wow that's great. But i'm a little bit further out than i used to be and my friend was saying well. I'm thinking about moving. But i still want to be relatively close and i was thinking about you knowing that i was speaking to you and i was thinking. What's your incentive to ever get on the plane and do long-haul again to come over here to do shopping tv when you've been doing it perfectly well by the internet and now at listen. I don't even go at this point to qvc anymore. And that's how you know in in america and it's been fantastic and it gives the thing that i really like about. Actually doing it from home is the personal connection that we can have with our customer now so like when you go to to you know. Qbc uk. obviously the the part. That i miss the most is the friendship. Cartwright said the people that you know the fact that i could come and see you. It's like work but it's like play and you know. Even the people at qvc in uk are my friends. And it's you know there's this very nice thing that you know every other month or so i'm gonna come over and i get to see and you know we get an but but but i'm.

"Allegedly who was a beautiful, large giant schnauzer puppy whose name was Maggie. And Maggie was lost for a couple of weeks. Her owner, Ron Kelly, was relentless in his search for his beloved family member and I will give him credit, you know? Pulling out all the troops all of the guns to find this dog at all hours of the day and the night And he did find Maggie. Dead. Buy some railroad tracks in northwest Fresno. Apparently, his poor puppy had given in to starvation didn't know what to do to eat always depended upon her family. A $5000 reward for this song. He's having a necropsy performed the Cropsey to determine you know the exact cause of death. The owner Ron Kelly, will be joining us at noon to relate this entire sad story. He involved me from day one just saying, Hey, I need your help. Don't really know you are but I've heard you can help with the animals and we've become pretty tight since then. So sad, so sad and the company responsible for this mess? Kind of what you're thinking. Yeah. Hey, you gotta get him, but apparently they've closed the doors and faded out of the public view and, ah! We'll see what happens. See if there's any update on the status of that, Uh, if these individuals are caught are in the process of catching them. Ah, is this family Is Ron Kelly involved in this process? I got two word answer for you. Oh, yes. And if you're a parent Grand parent and uncle. Who is the guardian of a child, a family member. Ah, Halloween. I can't get a straight answer. Not is Halloween trick or treating band locally because the pandemic or not No, I mean, I should know. But I haven't followed this one and I can't get a straight answer. All day I've been hearing No. Yes, well, it was banned. But now there's a reconsideration and maybe you want a few can straighten me out. Um, but in theory if it was banned What do you tell the little kitties? You know, I mean, that's going to destroy him. Thanks to the pandemic, you know. Then you rationalize that. It would be very, very hard. You know, I think that if it's true I can lead if it's statewide and can lead to the downfall of Newsome that maybe the straw that broke the camel's back. Yeah, but think about it in theory. Till I find out what's really going on. Halloween as a dangerous transmission point for Covad. You have kids. Who rarely suffer from this disease. Some don't even know they have it when they haven't You have kids, all wearing masks. Not surgical masks. What they're wearing math. 95% of them. What's the problem? Somebody got explain this one to me, because I would think it would be one of the safest events of the year. Like a Santa Can't get a straight answer. Nancy Pelosi. I just hate her. She has dragged out the 25th amendment again. To go after Donald Trump in his altered state. His mental health is steroid infused crazy talking decisions. Ah and also in prep for Joe Biden. Should something happen to him? Should he not be capable of finishing? You know, a term handling his duties at the White House. If anybody Anybody should be the subject of the 25th amendment. You know what I'm going to say should be her. I believe she's much more mentally debilitated than than Trumper or Biden. I really honestly do. I really honestly D'oh. Speaking of Donald Trump, he's thinking about going back on the road again with rallies as early as Monday. Good idea. I don't know. I don't know. I'm going to find out. We have a guest today that might be able to enlighten us on that. Speaking of the the Chinese camp alcove in there is much in the news today varied stories about covert 19 coming to us from all over the world. And I would hope you would pay attention to these. All right. But this story about the local dog is a sad well, I mean, you know, this stuff always touches me. Now, while rather subject a couple of weeks ago, I brought you the story of the dog that was tortured that 24 7 pet Fitz has named Frankie And I thought that was kind of a poor name because of Frankenstein and a dog That's been also I mean, a man that was created by Dino Patching him all up. Doing this? That and the other thing and then come to find out. That's exactly what they named him. Frankie. Oh, He's doing extremely well. If you've been following this saga, he came to the emergency hospital from the S P. C, A, where he was dumped AA and he had the most horrendous wounds. I've ever seen on a living dog. Back of his hand has exposed his neck. All of that right down to the bone. It was Awful and he was still alive and he was just in a daze. He was so broken, broken and still They cannot. Patch up the wounds because their skin there was necrotic skin that it rotted and they had to cut it away. It's not. It's not in the lunch hour's who were okay. All right. And but the skin is growing and very soon we will have the surgery to pull all the skin together and sutra. And then there's problems with his kidneys, because, apparently every time he urinated in these cattle The owner beat him halfway to death. So he was afraid to urinate, period end of statement, his kidneys a damn near destroyed as a result. Finally, after about a week in getting to know the staff there, he freely peas all over the place and is acting like a dog. Wagon, his tail friendly, Happy loves, Loves, Loves, loves, loves the employees of 24 7 pet fats. In fact, they want to keep him. They want to keep him there at the clinic to be the clinic dog. He'll get to go home. You know, four or five times a week with with an employee and stay at their house, he'll get to go to the doctor's appointment apartment. A lot of doctors come in from out of town to work there, and they've said they take him home for a night or two, you know, and he could live in the apartment with him. Ah, and the dog would love that because he loves car rides, and he loves all of these people. And I'm really, really, really, really hoping he gets to stay at 24 7 pet fence. I mean, that would be the ideal location for him. Because he would have help 24 7 and he's a dog. You know when you talk about a special needs animal poop..

"Signatures, we can put this Bill on the floor for votes. And so that's where it stands right now. I certainly I mean Israel's in a rough neighborhood, and we have to defend an assist Israel. They're also from a technology cybersecurity standpoint. They're very advanced. They're a great ally for us in the region. It's a thirty billion dollar package over ten years. We also have to assist, I think Jordan ally. And the deal with Assad and his regime, what he's doing. So we're hopeful that we'll get the Sixers this, this will go forward s might my home state has already passed legislation. Basically just says that any state that wants to not play along with DS. Can can do that. And so kind of states rights almost issue, and no federal preemption. So I'm going to I wanna do a lightning round to try to get the kind of the top issues. And then if you're okay, we'll just throw up in the floor. But before I do that you were an outstanding leader in, in the house, homeland security committee, and one of the things that took up more to little bit of time was as border security, and immigration enforcement, and which also impacts on what you do about legal immigration for more than that's an injustice. So you've you've been you've been up close and personal with the shoes, almost than anybody in congress last couple of years, and I'm just kind of interested in your reaction to the president's speech yesterday. And where you think this whole debate is going final of heritage. And here's congressman McCall was there. I guess I met with Jared Kushner, put this plan together with the leader McCarthy yesterday. And. Yes. It's a tough issue anytime you try to tackle this battle scars. I. Cheering good Latin. I had a Bill. The McColl Bill had border security merit-based immigration, we go is Dhaka and unfortunately, it failed by twenty votes. Like I could I could do a sort of post mortem on that would take thirty minutes. There were some things that we're not done right. But I think messaging wise. There could have been done better. It's unfortunate because we had the opportunity to get this thing done this congress with with Pelosi and having lost majority. I don't see a whole lot of prospect for that. I think the Bill that the president outlining, now's a very sort of positive intelligent perspective. And that is they take my border security Bill, which secures the border. And then they reform the visa process where it's not a random lottery. It's not a random process but it's more merit and skill based in a little bit of I think they kind of broke a little bit on. The I've always been a proponent of high-skill Bill were, they've kind of broken in positive direction is to allow people who are educated in the United States, particularly engineers that we need and scientists to be able to stay in the United States and not have to go back to their country of or. Origin, but rather stay here. And so I, I think it's a very smart. Immigration plan and smart border technologies. A big piece of it, that I've been pushing presence kind of backed off thirty foot concrete wall, two thousand miles to board. Fencing technology were like in my state with a river and canyons and all that. So I think we're getting there, but do we have the votes in the house, under the current political climate, I think very difficult? Yeah. Well, I think the president talked about the end of his speech. She said, look, I'd love to do this, but if they're going to do this, I'd love to come back in twenty twenty do this. So it'll be interesting as we kind of heard the reaction from Washington yesterday, which was kind of predictable, right? But, but they're not the American people. And so it would be really interesting to see how the American people react gonna take him what you did and adding stuff to it. And if people actually there's a there's a real constituency there for this reform agenda. But then you so you were one of the building blocks for that. So we'll see really plug. Jared Kushner for taking. Sanni brought a very intelligent. I think the languages better. To your point, it may be more of a messaging document more of a campaign document going into twenty twenty and let the people decide what they want. All right. So lightning round, let's start with Iran because that's going to have a war. And if not what he wants veteran. I hope we don't have. Ron Kelly Iraq and Afghanistan put together and it's very difficult. I think. However, they're desperate the president. I think made the right move pulling out of the JCP. Oh, the Iran deal, the sanctions are having an impact there, getting more desperate now, and now they're asking the Europeans look, the by by the deal, or we're going to start rebuilding the Iraq facility that's a nuclear facility in sixty days. And at the same time, we have this specific incredible threat against our military in Iraq, using proxies. Now, the head of the Cook's forest met with the Iranian Shia militia militias and Hezbollah and said prepare for war. And so in response that I've been telling us we have put. Several of our ships into the Persian Gulf along with everything that comes with it all the assets. To adequately respond. I think we can hit their nuclear facilities without putting troops on the ground, I would not recommend and patient of Iran. You feel okay we're we're we are right now in terms of I do think it's Kelly when you get caught with your hand the cookie jar Andy, take it out, Iran. They, they know that we know once, once they know that we know they're going to kinda back off a little bit. I don't think it's in their best interest to do that. They know that. And you have one hundred thousand tonnes of diplomacy going into the Persian Gulf, and that would be our naval ships. That's a strong statement to more real quick. And then we'll throw it open to the floor so please, if you have your questions, ready to be ready. And if you ever question, if you just raise your hand and wait to be recognized and just state your name and affiliation on that would be awesome. And also wait for the microphone so you could get your get your everybody can hear your question. So venezuela. Where are we where we going and is there a row for the congress there? I took a trip down to cook with Eliot, Engel fifty thousand people cross from Venezuela into Columbia everyday. Three to five thousand stay in Colombia's. It's unsustainable. It's the biggest humanitarian crisis in the western hemisphere, and it's all caused by one man, and that's duro the socialist dictator. And if anything can speak to the downfalls of socialism, to those who tell the greatness of socialism. Take a look at Venezuela look at the destruction they have destroyed what was one of the richest most prosperous nations in the western hemisphere, by bringing socialism Chavis and Madero into Venezuela. Where we now know guidos legitimate president Maduro. There was a thought a coup those gonna take place where the head of the supreme court, the head of the intelligence. They let the opposition leader go Madero was actually on a tarmac. Getting ready to fly van Damme. When the Russians intervened and persuaded him to stay in Venezuela. There's a lot of talk on the on the left about United States intervention. The only intervention for intervention. I see you're the Cubans the twenty thousand security officials in Venezuela propping up the military Madero and the Russians, the Russians have put military assets in the likes of which we have not seen since a Cuban missile crisis. So this is a big deal Jay, and we have to resolve this and democracy. There's a lot at stake, if democracy and the people Venezuela, prevail, it will impact Cuba, Nicaragua Bolivia, the rest of Latin America's actually going. I think in the right direction in a pro US. The lions congressman Michael McCall ranking Republican on the foreign affairs committee, lightning around China, too. Big issues are going on with the trade negotiations and the whole debate over highway, and the executive order, and what we should do about the Chinese investment in five, G infrastructure, or, or just more broadly, in Chinese infrastructure in states. We're as the committee on that we're you going to be heavily days passed several bills to, to deal with this issue. China announcer one belt one road initiative. It's global dominant. Domination by military and economic power by twenty thirty by you're when they're not. It's been a bit deceptive. But I think people are waking up to the fact that they are everywhere when I go to Latin America to Africa there and what they do is called predatory lending, or debt traps, where they loan, they come in under the auspices of, we're gonna invest. We're gonna build roads, you know, we'll build ports, but the problem is, it's a debt trap. And then they ended up taking over these facilities without one shot fired a good example. Sri Lanka, they built a port in Djibouti. They own both ends of the Panama Canal teddy Roosevelt. We built that canal. Now, the Chinese own it that is incredible to me. I was in El Salvador, they were going to put to ports and El Salvador. Fortunately, the incoming president has decided that's not, not a good move Africa. They're all over Africa. How do we persuade these countries to reject the Chinese, we have to explain? It's not in their best interest. It's going to be long term pain for you. But we also have to compete, and we're not competing as well. And I passed we passed the Bill to put on steroids. We pass my Villalba champing American business through diplomacy. Add to make sure that we're advocating for American interests abroad. The technology piece is what keeps me up at night, the most, and that is artifice intelligence, quantum computing, cybersecurity, and five G five G allows the Chinese, and look at the global MAC map Jade's. It's about fifty percent of the world right now. We're China's literally moving in with their five G. They're like, tentacles moving in and once the five G is put in they control. They control the data they control everything. And we have to compete with him on five G. We have AT and T and Bryson and some other companies. But, you know, we have to be. We can't just say that the Chinese are evil and they steal intellectual property. They tech transfers blueprints into our Pentagon. They steal our cyber weapons. But the fact is, we have to compete with them to win, and that has to be an investment that the United States is prepared to make with the with the private sector. So here's my first question guy, where do you go? There isn't that. Okay. So. I promised him I go back there. Unless, but while we're gonna make from there. So we we've hit on China. We've hit on Latin America. We've hit on videos so other other things on on the committee on your agenda, this year that you really want folks to notice coming down. I think when I was chairman of homeland, I it was an interesting time, it was frightening. Now, I saw the rise of ISIS and the caliphate, and Iraq and Syria. I warned the administration at that time of threat and the external operations were frightening. I mean they were real we stopped about ninety five percent. In my threat briefings and worked with the FBI intelligence community and homeland I wanted about five percent happened in those the ones, you know about. With the class of the caliphate, the threat briefings have gone way down. But that's not say the threats still there. They are embedded. And if you talk to the military's moving into the Suhel region, which is sort of middle belt of Africa. Destabilize nations Lindsey Graham. And I use the global fragility to bring USA ID state and defense together to try to stabilize regions more preventative than just reacting because if we can't win on the preventative diplomacy side, that's when you put your military and so the DOD's are interested in this program as mine. I think it's a right approach. Okay..

"Nigel Jason over there. Shelley fitzgerald. She's the guidance counselor. That was suspended by Ron Cali. Because of her marital status hammers she was placed on administrative leave because she was married to another woman. She has officially filed a charge of discrimination against the school in the archdiocese of Indianapolis. This filing is along with the equal opportunity Opportunity Commission, aka the EOC, and it's kind of laying the groundwork for litigation against Ron collie and the arch dis just before she can officially sue them. She's got to go through the EEOC. Right. So she's going to have ninety days now to decide whether to file a suit in federal court after taking time to work with the EEOC here, which looks like it's going to take months on end, which surprises me that. It's taken this long for her to file the complaint. We got another ten months of this before we even know she's going to sue them or not. It's so interesting to me because it feels like if the contract. Simply states. You know, what the church believes in if you violate this you violate the contract, it's cut and dry. But the fact that this is picking up steam and moving forward, and this situation isn't resolved yet tells me, maybe we don't know what's in the contract. Well, the archdiocese has released a statement Bumi Redan. Yes. The archdiocese Vinnie Annapolis Ron Kelly I school of neither discriminated against Shelly. Fitzgerald north created a hostile work environment. She signed an agreed to a ministerial job description in her employment contract that she live in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic church mischievous Gerald is acknowledged that she breached her contract by entering into a marriage. That is not valid in the eyes of the Catholic church. She remains an employee run Kelly highschool and is unpaid administrative leave. So she's still still getting paid which I think is interesting, but you know, the archdiocese right? They're saying, yeah, he signed the contract bid. The marriage is valid in our eyes of the Catholic church, which also automatically makes me think. Why do you care them? Right. If it's not valid in the first place. This is gonna make you know, a lot of headlines here because for argument's sake here again, I'm not a lawyer. You're not a lawyer just for the sake of conversation. Let's say that Sherry Shelly FitzGerald wins. Her lawsuit against the archdiocese, and Ron colleague that's going to be a game changer for these parochial Catholic schools because they're going to have to rework all of the contracts, and I'm curious, then if anybody who has been let go in the past because of maybe the same reason, or maybe they didn't get an interview. Because of that reason is gonna come out retroactively here and say, hey, wait a minute. Now, I also was discriminated against what you're going to see if they're going to challenge the legality of even putting something like that into a contract morality clause like that. Right. Is it even legal to do that right in two thousand nineteen can you have a morality clause in a contract does that go against the EEOC guidelines, and again, we have months and months of this. It's going gonna take them at least ten months to do the EEOC investigation. Get your popcorn ready. We are just getting started with this story. So over the weekend. Snow Pacalypse happen. Yeah. How are the roads around big Niger's castle? Boom. You know what? I'm so I I wore sweatpants all weekend long and never warning. I didn't leave the house. She said on the north side side roads were something a little bit different from what she was telling me, but I didn't leave the house all weekend over under on showers a set at one how many showers did you tell under?
