Thanks for tuning into this week's edition of Reporter's Notebook on WTMJ The show where we take you inside the biggest stories of the week by speaking with the people who covered them. I'm Alex Grow. It was another wild week in medicine, where the assembly gathered to try and override a veto from the governor. While that same governor called for another special session, which was ignored by that same legislature, following all this Joining us to discuss is Jeff Mayors, president of with politics dot com Jeff Welcome back to the show. Absolutely, Alex. All right, So let's start with a brief explanation. What happened in medicine this past week and how did it end with what happened on Tuesday? So they've been the week prior, the assembly would move the Republicans in the Assembly moved to schedule an override vote on a veto. Governor Evers made to a bill that would cut off the federal UI benefits the $300 a week benefit. Um and Republicans have been saying that that's leading to a labor shortage and And beavers and a lot of Democrats disagree on that. So they scheduled a an override vote on that, even though there hasn't been a veto, overridden in the states and governor Tony Earl back in the in the eighties. Um so, um and then to counter that politically, Governor Evers. They called the Legislature into special session to Vote on his proposal for more money for education, um, some half a half a billion dollars for more money for education that the Legislature didn't put in his budget. So, um, the override was done. The override vote was done, and the Republicans fell short on the two thirds majority needed for that, And then they Didn't take up his proposal. So I guess you could say it was a standoff. Is it fair to say that you know, from the outside looking in this just kind of seems like both sides did it for their base so that you know the people in the assembly are able to say, Hey, we tried to get rid of these extra benefits. And so Governor Evers can say, Hey, I tried to get more money for schools. And they can both say the other side is obstructing their efforts. Well, that kind of summarized perfectly, Alex. You don't need me to say it. Oh, well, I guess we'll go on to the next part. Then I guess my final question for you about this topic itself. Jeff would be that you know, the signing of the budget right away seemed like maybe there might be some slimmer of hope that these two sides can work together on a few issues. Is this kind of toss that that hope of bipartisanship out the window. Well, you know, having there is not much of a relationship between the governor and the Republican Legislature. Um, you know, they've been at odds since the beginning. You know, he's saying Republican bills, including a really big one the budget. Um but you know, very logic politically. And so we shouldn't expect a whole lot of cooperation, especially with a new election coming for the governor's see when she has announced he will be running for re election form. Let's switch gears. Another election that we've been talking about a lot is focusing on Ron Johnson's current U. S. Senate seat. More Democrats have gotten into the race since we last spoke. There are a lot in the race right now. I think more than most people realize is there like a top tier right now, with candidates that you're kind of focusing in on Yeah, there's about there's 10 candidates if we include the one that's formed an exploratory committee. You know, Two of the three of those are unknowns, so we're dealing with seven. You know candidates who are what you would call viable And of that there's only you know, three or four that are, um, you know, um top tier, among them. Lieutenant Governor Mandela, Barnes and State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski. There's a two statewide elected candidates. Um Then you have Alex Lazzari Aid a Milwaukee Bucks executive on leave from the team, and he's raised a lot of money. So you know that puts him in the in the next And then you know, some people put Tom Nelson He's the Allegheny County executive that the county surrounding Appleton. He also is a former state legislator and Iran statewide. As a lieutenant governor candidate a while ago. So you know, I think that that's your you know your basic topped here there. So these are the candidates that we're looking at right now and currently, Ron Johnson has not said whether or not he is going to run for that seat himself. This, maybe looking a little far into the future, right? But it seems like if if the Democrats end up running someone who is further to the left like a Mandela, Barnes Do you think that might make it easier for someone like Ron Johnson to to run statewide? Well, there's going to be so much attention on this race. Um and, um you know whether or not Ron Johnson is running for the seat. There's going to be a lot of attention on this race because this is a big, democratic pickup opportunity. And you know, it's 50 50 in the U. S senate, So that's going to be one of the top races in the country, So there's going to be a lot of activity here. Um, you know, no matter who the nominee is. Um, you know, a crowded primary can get complicated for Democrats. Um, And so, you know, I think the Republicans are hoping that you know, or these Democrats Duke it out and fight and are disunited. Out of the August primary, so Democrats are going to try mightily to make sure that that doesn't happen. And will certainly be watching and keeping an eye on it. Jeff Mayors, president of with politics dot com really appreciate you joining the show and helping us.
Sen. Ron Johnson Comments on Taking Down Big Tech
"Let's talk about big Tech. Um Until we take over the Congress and so forth. I do think President Trump's lawsuit is right on now, particularly given what Jim Pataki said and what the others have said, and they have Basically made the case that the government And these oligarchs are working together, Don't you think? I think so. And that's certainly going to be one of the avenues is we have to expose them to liability. These companies have become way too powerful. We never left an individual your own, a TV station newspaper radio station in this in a small community. We have these. You know a few oligarchs controlling all this information, so we have to look at her antitrust laws. Democrats are gone changes because this works well for them So again, That's where I go back to your book, Your BDs movement. Need to boycott. We need the private sector alternatives. Conservatives have to stop. Of supporting these businesses. We need to find alternatives and let the free market work as well. While we're undergoing of your undertaking a legal strategy as well.
Sen. Ron Johnson Comments on Biden's High Spending Disaster
"Joe Biden said the other day at what they called a town hall meeting in one of his more coherent moments. That, uh, in effect, spending more money by spending more money, he will reduce inflation. Are you aware of any economic theory ever devised by mankind that holds that position, sir? No. And I know what his, uh, you know, economic advisor to Democratic President Lawrence Summers definitely would not agree with that, Martin. I'm wondering Facebook will pull that down sense of that bit of disinformation. We've got a president. That's a one man. This information gaffe machine himself, and, uh, it's amazing. He's actually going to Facebook, including with them, but take down other people's and disinformation. But here's what concerns me. Since he is the executive branch since years, the head of the Democrat Party, I don't think he's alone in believing this idiocy. I think when you look across the island, the United States Senate, you have a cabal of individuals who either agree with that or don't give a damn. They are prepared to spend trillions and trillions of dollars more. They think it's all free money. They think the they'll be able to do whatever they want to do no matter what. How do you deal with the How do you negotiate with people like this? You don't you have to. You have to resist them.
Sen. Ron Johnson Says That Democrats Want to Make It Easy to Cheat in Elections With H.R. 1 Bill
"Senator I haven't seen a more destructive piece of legislation come out of Capitol Hill in a long time. This so effectively squash any voter integrity measures. It will make it super easy to cheat. It will make it really awful. I mean, we talk about faith and elections evaporating overnight. Just how bad is this piece of legislation, and you think it has any chance of passing Well, if you don't want Democrats to be in control forever. Um it's really bad. Um, you know Republicans. We want to make voting easy, but we want to make cheating really hard. It seems like the primary objective Democrats as me. Feeding really easy. I mean, it makes processes the bigger, bigger Carter Commission that point out that apps keep Alice is probably number one point of allowing Friday elections. So you ought to. You ought to be very careful with it limited and certainly put controls over it. What Democrats did under the guise of Covid, the expanded dramatically absentee mail in balloting while they reduced all the controls over it, they didn't let observers observed. So there were so many irregularities in 2020 election that so many people just blown off. I'm glad, you know. States like Arizona and Georgia, Wisconsin are taking a look at what happened, and there's a lot of irregularities that need to be examined. If we're going to restore confidence in our election, Sam this is unsustainable. Where no matter who wins have the country's not going to Recognize the legitimacy of a new president. This is not sustainable. The only way you can practice is by You honestly admitting there were problems and fixing them? Republicans want to fix them. Democrats just want to exacerbate the problem. Talking to Senator Ron Johnson. One of the good guys always are 1st
Sen. Ron Johnson on Democrats' Obsession to Control the Narrative on Groundbreaking Medication
"The side of these sometimes super expensive treatments we've invented recently in lieu of very cheap treatments I ever met in a hydroxychloroquine. And yet I see this article in The Wall Street Journal today that the left is objecting to this new Alzheimer's drug out of helm because it's if I I hope I'm saying that right because it's too expensive. So what is it in one hand, do you like to really expensive stuff for the treatment of coronavirus? Maybe because Trump recommended the others, and on the other hand, you have a drug that could benefit patients with Alzheimer's, and they're like, no, no. Well, we don't want that. That's no good. I mean, are you do you get this from a different angle up on the hill? Or am I just stupid? What am I missing here? Well, First of all, when we do know about both Hydroxychloroquine IRA medicine is they are incredibly safe drugs that have been prescribed for decades in the billions of doses with a very low rate of adverse effects. And so my point is, I've been so why not give him a shot Your current today current Nice guideline. And Kobe this do nothing. Go home. Isolate yourself. Be afraid and hope you don't get so sick that we have to mention the hospital where your cancers are reduced that violates every basic candidate of medicine. Words. You're Diagnosed early treat early. You can have a much better outcome that we've completely turn turn medicine his head as it relates to Covid. Why is it Because people like Fauci Collins governors want the control? Is that what's going on here? I mean again. It makes no sense to me and you know, like you did. I can't even begin to getting ahead of a Democrat. Liberal Progressive. I mean, they make no sense whatsoever. Yeah. I mean, it just seems like I mean, it's almost one of these.
Ron Johnson's Juneteenth Visit to Milwaukee Took an Unexpected Turn
"Nicholson nor an attorney have commented Rob Dawson, Fox News, Senator Ron Johnson got an unpleasant surprise at this weekend's Juneteenth celebration in Milwaukee.
GOP Senators Claim 'Unequal Justice' in Capitol Riots Compared to Protests
"Justice must be administered equally. Republican senators demand answers for 2020 riots and Capitol Hill riot from Department of Justice. Group of Republican senators sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding answers regarding punishments for those who stormed the capital in January six and those who ride it over the spring and summer 2020. So the daily caller first obtained the letter, in other words, was leaked to them. Which was sent to the Department of Justice by these senators. Ron Johnson, Ted Cruz, Tommy Tucker Field at Tuberville. Excuse me, Mike Lee and Rick Scott. The letter, the group of Republicans Why only five? Let's 123 where all the rest of the Republican senators, every damn one of them should be signing this letter. In the letter, the group of GOP senators draw parallels between the treatment of the capital riders to the treatment of riders throughout the spring and summer 2020 and call for clarifications on punishment. At the spring and summer 2020. There were nonstop protests and riots after the death of George Floyd cities were set on fire in companies in small businesses were looted across the country. Republican senators Asked, among other questions, how many people were arrested for committing crimes during the 2020 spring and summer riots in federal law enforcement used Geo location data. For defendants cell phones to track riders down how many of the rioters were released on bail? The federal law enforcement utilized Geo location data from defended cell phones to track prosecutors associated with the unrest in the spring and summer 2020. If so, how many times and for what locations and riots? How many individuals who may have committed crimes associated with protests in the spring and summer 2020 were arrested by law enforcement using pre dawn raids and SWAT teams. These are damn good questions. But you only have 10% of the Republicans who signed this letter. Where's the other 50? Excuse me 45
Senator Ron Johnson Take On Hunter Biden
"The interview by first acknowledging the incredible work you've done trying to expose the hunter Biden scandal under an onslaught of media attacks them calling you their standard, You know, Conspiracy theorist. All this other nonsense. You had been one of the voices out there saying, Hey, we've got a problem here. We've got the son of the former vice president, now president with some potential business dealings that appear shady at best. So the first question I'd like to pose to you is Joe Biden has consistently said senator on tape that he had no knowledge of what his son was up to in Ukraine, China and Russia. And yet we find out thanks to the reporting of Miranda Divine, which I'll get to later in the show today. It appears Mr Biden was at a dinner with some of these business partners. Hunter Biden had And we just saw that the report in New York Post but you know he's been outright lying. And you said, we've been trying to expose us that's almost as big a story as biting, inking the corruption of the fighting family and all their foreign business entanglements. Is the media suppression of that information, which is, from my standpoint pretty down relevant to the American public. Certainly before the excited choose a president that is gonna have to do and conduct foreign policy with all these nations that have, who knows how much information how much compromise is there? You know these business dealings, so it's an enormous scandal, Dan. It goes way beyond Across from the Biden family and really goes in the correction corruption. The media
Former President Trump Addresses Surge at Mexican Border
"Good afternoon. I'm Dave Michaels. While on Fox News this morning, former President Trump addressed the tens of thousands of migrants. Still coming to the US Mexico border while criticizing the Biden administration for forcing Border Patrol agents to watch those kids at facilities there. They're taking care of Children. Now. They're like baby sitters right now that they've been taking off their job on this morning's Donald Donald showing, Wi said. Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson explained that the problems on the US Mexico border were generally solved when President Trump was still in office. President Trump had this pretty well solved when it comes to the family units. And the unaccompanied Children and then buying just reverse it off. We all
Yes, Capitol Rioters Were Armed. Here Are The Weapons They Used
"Of the people who attacked the U. S Capitol in January six. Syria's of videos on the FBI website shows the mob punching and beating officers. It also shows rioters using what appear to be batons and baseball bats and dousing some police with chemical sprays. Still, some have falsely claimed that the capital riders were not really armed. That day. NPR investigative correspondent Tom Dreisbach reports on why that's just not true. Not long after the Capitol riot, Republican Senator Ron Johnson said this the fact the matter is this didn't seem isn't like an armed insurrection to me. When you hear arm don't stick up firearms, it's become a popular narrative that the capital riot was not really armed. It's also misleading. First, Let's talk about guns. It is true that the only gun fired on January 6th was by law enforcement who killed writer Ashley Babbitt. But the Justice Department has brought gun charges against at least three people connected to the violence of the capital. Those three are not alleged to have breached the building. One of those defendants, Lonnie Kaufman, allegedly parked his truck near the capital filled with what a federal judge called a small armory authorities seizing from Kaufman's truck, multiple firearms, a crossbow. And a cooler containing particularly lethal homemade Molotov cocktails. Prosecutors have also cited evidence from Facebook posts and witness statements that other writers brought guns on the Capitol grounds, too. Capitol Police estimate around 800 people breached the building. But the vast majority were not arrested or searched at the time, so we just don't know exactly how many might have been carrying guns. But the other weapons people were armed with Those were plainly visible from the footage that day. investigators say there were batons, fire extinguishers, baseball bats, clubs, at least one stun gun. As well as pepper spray. Those weapons are often classified as less lethal. But police expert Lorenzo Boyd says they can still be deadly. What we do know is there were a lot of other weapons that could be lethal weapons as applied, officials say more than 100 officers were injured on January 6th entry, suffering gouged eyes, concussions and damage spinal discs. Capitol Police officer Brian Sick. Nick was allegedly sprayed by two writers with an unidentified chemical and died the following day. Authorities still have not identified his exact cause of death. NPR has been tracking every single criminal case related to the capital riots. Now more than 300 of those cases, we've identified nearly 40 that reference, a suspect wielding some sort of weapon. This was a pretty heavily armed crew of people compared to what you usually see it protests that tidy Pyrrhic, co founder of the global project on Hate and extremism. She's followed extremist groups for decades. Even when you see people who are armed it protests and states, for example, where they have open carry laws. They aren't storming into a building using the weapons in the way that we saw at the Capitol. What's clear is that given the weaponry seen on January, 6th things could have been a lot worse but by Rick is concerned that efforts to downplay the violence are less about the fax. About politics. There's a reluctance on the part of some in conservative circles to accept that domestic terrorism is largely coming from right wing extremist groups and to actually confront violent extremism in this country, she says. We have to be clear about just how dangerous it can be. Tom Dreisbach. NPR news
Johnson says comments about Capitol breach were not racist
"Hi Mike Rossi a reporting senator Ron Johnson says his comments about the capital breach were not racist Republican senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin is pushing back on criticism of his comments last week that he wasn't concerned about the pro trump mob at the U. S. capitol on January sixth what would have been if they were black lives matter's protesters there's nothing racial in my time is what so ever speaking to reporters at the capitol Monday Johnson said there were only a few bad apples in the crowd the vast majority of them syncing people over here a lot of law enforcement every thinker I mean they're not right more than three hundred from supporters have been charged in the storming of the capital Mike Rossio Washington
Ron Johnson: 'No racism involved' in comments about Capitol riot
"And he was then arrested. Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin denied that he made racist comments last week when he said he wasn't concerned about pro Donald Trump insurrectionists at the U. S Capitol in January but would have been worried had they been protesters for black lives matter. The comments drew a lot of criticism from Democrats and others who said Johnson was making racist statements. Republican senator told W S N A. M. There's no racism involved today and said quote it has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with riots completely did not anticipate that anybody could interpret what I said. As
Senate passes $1.9 trillion COVID relief package
"The big news is the covid relief. Bill in fact i was saying the trade just before we got started. This is saturday morning. We're recording this watching c. span is the amendments. Were kind of going by but as most people. I'm sure no that on thursday. The senate opened debate on president. Biden's one point nine trillion dollar covert relief bill. That was passed last week by the house with no republican support and initially debate was delayed because republican senator ron johnson decided he would not agree to the waving of the reading the bill and so some poor senate clerks had a read all six hundred plus pages of it so yeah but then after. That was the still going on as at this point. The vote a rama. Which for those. Who don't know is a feature of the budget reconciliation process which this measures being passed to avoid a filibuster. And this also allows senators to introduce a stream of amendments that have to be voted on prior to final passage of that underlying legislation. Few of these amendments are are typically passed but it does allow the majority or the minority party to get the majority on record for votes that they hope will be politically damaging to them and putting helpful to their own careers.
Editor-in-chief of the National Journal, Jeff Dufour, Discusses Manchin's Role in Senate Negotiations
"Let's go live now, with an update on Skype to Jeff Do. Four editor in chief of National Journal. Jeff in the plainest language possible. What did mansion get that caused him to change his mind and end this Well in the context of a $1.9 trillion bill. Uh, not much. These air presents pretty small provision that took nine hours. The final deal essentially is $300 per week of federal unemployment assistance through the end of August, the house had wanted 400. Said. It's bringing it down to 300. It was originally supposed to expire at the end of September. Now it's going to expire at the end of August. Essentially now one of mansions things was he wanted Tonto. To exempt the taxi. You want to accept the tax exemptions from this two households making over $150,000 a year so currently, if you get these jobless benefits, you can deduct tow up to 10,000 of that from from your taxes. He said. That shouldn't apply. If you make more than 100 $50,000 a year in your household, and it appears the Senate is going to agree to that now, the votes technically still open, even though they supposedly have a deal. I mean time wise. A lot was made out of Senator Ron Johnson last night, forcing the clerk to read the entire bill, which took hours. But this one vote on one Amendment has now taken longer than that did last night. And this is the first vote in what they billed as a vote A Rama quote unquote to come. So they're in for a lot of overtime in the Senate this weekend, the Senate record as you mentioned for longest vote has been broken again because all of this the previous record was from back in 2019. Is this something like the longest vote a sign of serious dysfunction on the hill? Or is it a sign of something else? I don't know The dysfunction is any greater than it has been in years past, which is still pretty significant, But it's combining that dysfunction with a 50 50 senate. I think I think we know a couple things now going forward Number one. This bill is probably going to go to the house like this weekend. Like you said, we're barring anything else on foreseen. They're gonna sense that the president for his signature, it's gonna give Biden his first big victory as president. But maybe more importantly, we know now that any significant legislation like this is going to be a real slaughter and a real challenge to pass vote Counting is critical. And there's all kinds of procedural hurdles that a senator, One senator can throw in the way in a 50 50 Senate now that applies to three bills at the House passed this past week that high up on their agenda. The voting rights package. The George Floyd policing reform and extending civil rights toe LGBT Q Americans, It's going to apply the unorganized labor bill and and gun legislation that they hope to pass this week. Those five just to name a few are all going to need 60 votes in the Senate. And if I were a betting man, I'd say they're not going to get it for most of them. President Biden, who you could almost jokingly say it's still a senator. He's you know, inextricably linked to the U. S. Senate, he called mansion directly. One wonders whether this deal could have been done without the president's efforts. And some people, I suppose, would be encouraged to see that he's getting involved. Others would say, Man, it's a bad sign that the president has to get directly involved like that. And I would also say this is probably not going to be the last conversation that by the mansion have during this Congress, because, uh, mansion is for people who count these things. Mansion is the most centrist member of the entire Senate. He is the swing vote. In the Democratic caucus, and he's the most important vote in the Senate right now, and he knows it. He's gonna exact every bit of power he can out of this toe, get what he wants for his state and for his And just for his for his views to make sure that whatever passes the Senate reflects his
Stimulus plan stalls as senators debate unemployment aid
"Leaders and moderate Democratic Senator Joe mention of West Virginia have struck a deal over emergency jobless benefits, breaking a nine hour logjam. It installed the party's showpiece $1.9 trillion covert really fill. The compromise, announced by the West Virginia lawmaker and a Democratic aide seems to clear the way for the Senate to begin a climactic marathon. Syriza votes expected to lead to approval of the sweeping legislation. Democrats had already set aside one battle over boosting the minimum wage mansion is probably the chamber's most conservative Democrat and the king maker in a 50 50 Senate. That leaves his party without a vote to spare. Chris Lee reports the Senate is in what's being called a voter rama over the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill where Syria's of amendments are voted on back to back. This comes after Wisconsin Republican Senator Ron Johnson forced to nearly 11 hour holed up on the bill. Forcing Senate clerks to read the massive 628 page legislative package out loud. Senate Budget Committee chair Bernie Sanders open the debate by introducing an amendment to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. That provision was included in the House's version of the bill, but it was thrown out last week by the Senate parliamentarian who ruled it was not permissible under budget reconciliation, Sanders says that process is wrong. It is an absurd process. That we allow an UN elected staff of somebody who works for the Senate, not elected by anybody. To make a decision as to whether 30 million Americans get a pay raise or not. I don't care how the parliamentarian rules. No parliamentarian should have that power. People here want to vote against raising them in ways you have that right? Want to vote for it? And I hope you do you have that right, But we should not shuffle off that responsibility. Toe What UN elected staff. That's wrong. Senators voted to reject Sanders proposal 58 to 42 8, Democratic senators Kirsten cinema of Arizona. Jon Tester of Montana, Jan Shaheen and Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, Chris Coons and Tom Carper of Delaware. Angus King of Maine and Joe Manchin of Virginia voted No. The Senate has since been stalled for several hours. In a debate on the extension of federal unemployment benefits. Democratic senators have a slim margin to get the bill approved. And if just a single Democrat votes against the bill, it could jeopardize the entire
Coronavirus relief bill could pass Senate by this weekend
"A vote a Rama on multiple amendments, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said. It's going to take a lot of votes. We're going to power through and finish this bill, however long it takes starting on Thursday, Senate clerk spent more than 10 hours reading aloud the full 628 page bill after a request from Republican Senator Ron Johnson and what many have called a delay tactic. Republicans are expected to offer many amendments during this vote a Rama, which may go into the weekend. Katherine Folders, ABC News and in Maine today, some big news when it comes to covert

Ron Johnson Makes Senate Read 600-Page COVID Relief Bill Aloud
"Got to this morning's official debate on the coronavirus relief bill in the Senate Republican Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, decided to make a show of his opposition to the bill by having the Senate clerks read out loud the entire 628 page thing. There's bad new seemingly every single day You're worried about all kinds of different things you're annoyed you have to do all. Kinds of different things I, get it. But you you think about some of the basic humanity that might be lost at some of these stores I, would love to hear some feedback on this and it may be on the other side of things that you've done to continue to show these workers who are going in and like they said, they're not getting rich here and with a lot of people looking for jobs, they are highly replaceable. So they're willing to me. That's a recipe for. Companies and for stores taking advantage of their employees and basically letting them letting them. Letting them, I would say get away with however they want to treat them. They have the upper hand right now do the the big stores in the chains and things like that Let's try to make sure they're not using it to abuse and put their workers in harm's way six, five,.

Even said it last year we gotta get those thoughts and ideas out of our mind I have thought that as well and I get that I, understand that but to you and everybody else that's outside this is what? Okay. We have a great. Year tanner mortgage coming back. We think Rashad statements coming back. You're right. He's gone on. Site they finally after years and years of the Star Tribune writing stories about how the buildings aren't filling up. TC Bank stadium gets full twice going to be pretty full this upcoming year. Pandemic we haven't seen in one hundred years hits, Bang I think the Tino's got a decent basketball squad if they can get the waivers, which is another thing. Well, everyone's getting the waiver, but that needs to be I'm not saying that the but so far there's been like hardly any denials and football but at this point, if the uncertain it to me, the thing if there's uncertainty if that's what's PUSHING IT I don't know how much certain how much certainly can be introduced by the time basketball but this is why this is why we are. Yeah, we I hear you. Now I'm not saying it's great. Not Saying I'm proud of it. I'm not saying that I always expect the other shoe to drop but just we've got fifty years of this thing going on in but ball twenty years going on it and baseball we know about our NBA about we've had like three really good seasons and gopher, basketball two of them count. To This is this is what I would say it all the coaches. This is why the way that we are. Hopefully, we can change it hopefully something flips hopefully our thoughts and dreams and ideas thing the PJ I talks about changes I feel bad for gopher fans who were fired up about the season and even going back to last week when Bateman leaves if they had a season like that's a buzzkill. Receiver in the big ten so. No doubt about it. Well, let's hope that you know Adam feeling today was on Vikings Zoom call and he talked about. In fact I, ask him about it about high school kids now and college kids not getting to play there at least now in the fall maybe in the spring who knows and he's like, you just got to try to take it positive. Use the time to say a workout for sure. I'M GONNA lift weights Internet bracketed rats. Absolutely or I'm going to hit the books harder I'm going to get straight as you know all this stuff there's some you know there's taking the bright side and try not to get pessimistic and you know. But you're right after fifty years it's hard to always take the bright side. So yeah, it's like I love you pj but you just got here dude. Like Your Football Career, coaching careers just been meteoric. The the rest of us haven't had all of that. We didn't have cotton bowl in a MAC championship. So this leave us alone let us swallow for a minute and I love you everybody knows that. But my God, it's a little more difficult than that for some of us, thank you. You got it. Let's do it again. Sometime, we will the voice of the gophers Mike. GRIMM hanging out. For the first hour Ron Johnson who I also get to work with a lot during the football season won't get to do it very much. He's coming in next. He's also got some breaking news regarding Cameron and friends the friendship bracelet basically empire that started a couple of months ago as it pertains to social justice, he's coming in to talk about that talk about gophers talk about biking's talk about all kinds of things that are guy three. Sad..

"Yesterday on campus he two or three times brought up contact tracing right in saying that right tracy that if that if that were at a higher level they may have. Pushed forward. So that can advance in the next couple of months but here's one of the way he's the deal, and then the other thing is Kevin Warren didn't seem to fall on that as much. He was still all about well, the uncertainty we just don't know what the long term effects are, which is interesting because you might not know what the long term effects are year from. That's true. So if that's the reason, why are we in trouble for for long? and then that doesn't even get into the debate of there are schools in the big. That are going to bring thirty thousand kids to school and go to class Some will be online. Some won't that also a clearly as risky likely in my opinion more risky than playing football amongst people they're going to be tested regularly and under the guidance of highly organized program with medical professionals at. Can Be there within thirty seconds of and I'm going to be curious to see how many campuses. Go forward with all of that when when, when did the deposits become nonrefundable? Exactly right or the back off the US backed off you know and it's going to be mostly online for while I would imagine that's the case but the contract contact tracing and it's hard to say that quickly. Is something. I'm GONNA talk to a Bill Maurice about tomorrow male clinic. Big Is GonNa join at five o'clock but one thing I had heard over the weekend along those lines. Is, some of the schools in the big ten were having difficulty with the protocols that they laid out that they couldn't get enough tests every single week, and then they couldn't turn them around quickly enough. They would know that's what baseball's that. That's if if if you had these rapid tests, were you take a test at two o'clock in by five o'clock, you know the baseball thing would have been calmed down as well but they're sending test a Utah and so that has got to be part of this. Scene. Rapid, test results I think for sure and then you see where you're at what has to happen but you're right and then you got basketball and hockey. Not, all hockey programs make money many in the big ten do. So those are programs that you'd like to get going and football is impossible because of roster size because of travel because of what what have you can you can you can get a basketball season in to try to make some money to to keep things going and allow for other things within the department Can you get a hockey season going Know Basketball has a couple of advantages I. think they have some disadvantages, but they have some advantages disadvantages they're indoors right that apparently is not great advantages you're only dealing. With a roster thirteen travels last year, just the sheer number of people that will interact is low sideline guy. Yeah. No sideline talking about and the other thing is if you wanted to do something like the Nhl of the NBA who knows I'm just spitballing here if you wanted to do something like that basketball allows you if you wanted to do a two week window someplace, you could play six or eight Games football. It's once a week you're kind of stuck it. You know if you're going to play ten games, you might need fifteen weeks to do it. You play a twenty game big ten schedule. Over the course of two or three separate couple of whatever you WANNA call it will that happen who knows. Right. If nobody knows at this point, if the reason is the uncertainty then probably not. Probably not you're just uncertain of the long term ramifications of all this probably not if the contact tracing some of the other, the rapid testing comes about maybe maybe it all goes. Other. Interesting. Let's say the big ten or the big twelve the ACC in the SEC do pull it off as we talked about before the break. If they pull it off in the fall. Most people would commonly common sense would say logically would say, well, the big ten then should be able to pull it off in the spring. But You've got you've got the the issue with plane too many games in a calendar year for the safety of these kids like will they really have the stomach to pull that off as well and and again, the argument is certainly going to be from the. You're not paying these guys right like you and I know we're around enough. They get tons of benefits. So I'm not saying that their. I that that's a whole another topic for another. That said that's going to be a discussion top I i. You know you know. These exploited athletes are gonNA. This eighteen games in twelve months it went from exploited to let them play pretty quickly. said that I thought that was pretty interesting. Are you familiar with Post Malone? Yes Yes Dennis tweets thought that the song that Jacob produced an Isaac Sang and your nephew did the album cover art for sounded like the new post malone tune. Postponed just steal it. He maybe he did not. He took off the iheartradio recognize post Bologne but I thought it was to post Malone saw that's a race for the song streamed all over the place called oasis one more segment with grammar. "It's just the health is the big question mark with Donovan? Correct. Yeah, if he was a healthy guy all the time, no question because you can put him in the slot. You can put him outside at running back and put them and try to get mismatches. You know like James, White then New England did so. You know he is a versatile back? We've seen them. You know the packers game. He broke that eighty yarder and you know changed the whole scope of the game. Game! They gave everybody confidence. They can beat the packers, so yes, he's extremely valuable. But how valuable when you look at next year's market and I don't think Alba Kamara's gonna hit the market, but also I think a lot of people were just being cough. You know being kinda like optimistic like hey, if if Chimera hits the market. Do we want to have the money to go after them because it was only? Only Adam feeling and just in Jefferson being young and Tiger Shark, being on kind of a you know a veteran minimum type deal. They have they. They might have a lot of money to go. Get a running back. on those definitely big contracts, so you know that's that's something I'm pretty. Sure is in the back of their heads. Well NBA is in a bubble NHL's in a bubble. We know baseball's not. Not We've seen some of the ramifications of that NFL not going to be in a bubble as well even with the a precautions that they're taking as a guy who's been in an NFL locker room as a player and as a coach. What's going to be the biggest challenge terms of keeping everybody healthy wants this season does eventually start. What would you worry about in terms of players, not being in a bubble? I mean honestly. Not to be funny but Lou Williams I mean sure klopp's. You gotta you guys Kinda WanNa. Go Out. They don't WanNa. Go to bars I. Mean you've got young. Guys that are making you know three or four or five hundred thousand dollars so making a couple million. They don't want to be stuck in the house, and so there's going to be that maturity level. Somebody's saying got married guy that they be fine. You know you're you're used to being home with your wife. You know you got your kids at home, so you're entertains. You're doing your day to day, but this single. That gets real boring by yourself. Just sitting in the house. So you know what does that look like whether you green girlfriend and you know..

"Y. and Z, so I mean honestly if if you think about any employer, they be dumb to not do that. Because if say like the NFL tried to strong on these players and say you know what screw this. We're not giving any exemptions. You guys are GONNA play regardless of how you feel what you think, you know. Know, we might even be looking at a striking situation where players go on strike and say you know what and you know. We're GONNA. All stand together and solidarity these owners clearly I mean the fact they're willing to bend on. The preseason shows how much money they're losing, and they just want the players to kind of be happy and say you know what whatever's GonNa take to get you guys on the field We WanNA. Do it I think the players are realizing that like hey, we have. Have a little bit power. Now they want us on the field, so let's make sure you know if we're going. We're doing what's best for not just me, but my brother you know in the locker next to me and so on and so forth, and that's why you know. It's one of those things are like look. If somebody's got, opt out, we understand it I know some players are going to judge them. You know someplace aren't GonNa? Be Happy, but at the end of the day you. You know that's their life. They're they're going home. It's not you know not your boyfriend or your girlfriend like you're going home by yourself to your wife or your spouse, your kids and You know that's one of those things where they You know they just had to figure out. What is the impact of this decision? Football wise for the Vikings as really the big blue chip big ticket free agent signing. They had this offseason. What kind of impact will this have on the football side? Limbaugh Joseph that was you run, but you get Michael appears, you know. He calls himself Juggernaut. You know once you gets going. It's hard to stop like a little bowling ball and that's you know. That can be a huge loss to them. you know I don't know how you I mean. We always talk about three techniques and you know nose guard run stoppers, and how important they are and let me think about every week. We were like limbaugh this week. The healthy this was limbaugh going back and so now you don't even have that and you have a Guy Pearce. Who you thought was going to be that guy. And he's out now, so it's you I mean that's a huge implication on. You know how they're gonNA have to figure out you know these rookies. Who's going to get a chance to start in that spot now and You know you get to sign everything Griffin and and you know have a makeshift off often. There's there's so many factors now that they have to figure out Ron Johnson joining on the fan. If you hear the rattling of golf clubs, it's because I think he's on fifteen hour. He grabbed his putter on fourteen playing a little golf right now, talking Vikings, we might pivoted talk some gophers as well. Do you think almost hold out my chip by the way I believe that I've gone before. I dealt with the years ago. You've got a good swing, no surprise. You can kick it. Also the Newsday doubt. I told you I was close I'm holding out. I'm not laughing. I'm just GonNa lie I'm just going along with you. I'm just going along with Ron Johnson show Donald, saying what his Labrador tow in there now. Yeah, now that's a. that's a whole nother deal Dalvin could. "But what do you think about the whole situation here? Yeah so other than Michael Jordan on wgn right before the timberwolves existed in eighty, nine ninety like I like watching Jordan. It soon was taken over when Cagey was drafted in that kind of became our childhood and I. There's this countless experiences that we could live through. Probably with so many other people in Minnesota so like there's always gonna be always GonNa be the guy that we associate most with the team, and there is not a close number two I can't even think of franchise that has a greater gulf between their greatest player and their second greatest. Greatest player in fact I. Don't know if there is a clear on second best player. It's probably a debate that we can have, but so like that that to me is is there's always going to be embedded in it, and if there's some way, get integrated in whatever role like whether it, they some kind of minority, or he's just a piece of a group whatever it is I. I like that idea in that sense and just sort of away for that would help the community in Minnesota rally around team again 'cause I. DO think that they've. They've been making some some great moves in terms of the culture, just like what decent and Ryan even catching right, thank. You're doing on the business side with with Gershon Rosas and his staff now. They're really kind of embracing the way that the the game is going. They've got this young. Rosser. They've got talented guy picks coming up so like I'm I'm getting engaged from afar, and all that and and it would be cool to see that somehow fused with this next move if the team doesn't get sold, and if pages involved in some way the last time. Time. We had you on the show. It was to talk about the Jordan documentary that was every Sunday night and it's crazy to think that was in the same pandemic that we watched the Jordan documentary because things been going on forever Jordan. DOC was a long time ago. Now it was basically May but the other documentary might that we've kind of remembered or sold for the first time I guess. It came out about a year ago, but the dock was called kid from Coney Island it was about to find Marbury I'm curious if you've seen it. First of all. Have you seen that documentary on Netflix? No I haven't seen it. It's I was just texting My Guy should have mentioned. Dr Rodney, Seco WHO's. A ton of stuff wolf. Now we were just talking about it and saying this is on the calendar I gotTa I. GotTa Watch so we can have like a face Simon and discussed it at length well. Here's the thing and Dan brought it up. And then I had to put some audio in the system about and it was the part about when he left Minnesota. And as rubes like you. And I are and do teenage rubes. When all this was going down, Cagey and stuff we're here. Here, it's GonNa Sting Man. It's going to hurt I'm just going to tell you that then. I went and watched the whole thing, and it's not going to be one and again there's real problems, and then there's you know the teenage problems that we had but I just I continue. We've talked about it basically three weeks in a row since Dan brought it up in some other shows that brought it up as well..

"Final second noon. Big thanks to Ryan Carter. Keeping me updated on how the Minnesota wild or reversing the unique pre bubble bubble training camp that it's taking place in a tree in Saint Paul, and you can hear him and Kevin Foulness on Kfi. The plus the Wild Youtube Channel on Thursday at eleven am. They'll be doing another called scrimmage. Get the analysis Ryan Carter Lavelli Neil hanging out for an hour, just breaking things down he's. I'm not willing to go down the road of if with with baseball this week, I just WanNa think about it being baseball week and being five days away. From seeing the MINNESOTA, twins suit up against the white SOx on southside Friday night, so and Ron Johnson one more segment with him wrapping up the show, not a ton of time left what I needed to get in on JD spielman. Who you know you I believe you've interacted with you know he is indeed the son of Viking General Manager Rick. Spielman, but you know similar drama down in down in Lincoln where he leaves the school. And now you know the natural progression for many would be like well come to Minnesota. We can use that skill with PJ in this offense, and it sounds like he's headed down to use a horned frog. He is committing to TCU for his final year of eligibility to play football in the big twelve. any surprise there like how did that all come together? You've paid much more attention to it than I have so yeah, jd, not Maroon and gold. Yeah, well I I WANNA. Say for people who are out there. Thinking this had nothing to do Jerry. He'll because Jerry Keel. Keel when he was here, they didn't give jd a strong offer to be a gopher like you know crazy clays, and then they didn't do a great job recruiting him either here, the TCU bit is mainly honestly offense. If you look at Jaylen Raider, get some of these TCU receivers. You're always like man. These guys get to the League and then they're not that good. Josh Dachshund it, it's it's the office. Offense is high powered. They run the RPO. They throw the ball eighty to ninety percent of the time. It's nonstop three or four receivers on the field, so for a guy like J. D.. He's going to go in there and Jalen. Reagan just left, so he'll be able to go in there and be to kick return pot return. He'll be in the backfield. He'll run jet sweeps. He'll be be a gadget guy, but also tyreek hill tight, deep threat for them I think they'll really use him. Where we saw Nebraska's offense, it was hot garbage at times. It literally was terrible I, mean! They got killed by Minnesota and Scott. Frost blamed it on the weather, and the fact is players warmed up in hoodies. That to me. That just shows a lattice. Two years ago. They dropped fifty on it. They did, but that was before. Frost I think if I'm not mistaken all now as a Rossi. Joe. Rossi took over and his defense is elite. You Look at Scott Frost taken over, and that offense and defense is trash. But the players are happy there. You got two other kids got kicked out. There shouldn't be kicked out. players just don't like the route that Scott Frost takes them in the media. You know he's called the players out personally as far as the gophers go. Jd would have had to jump through hoops Hoop after hoop to come here. He was interested in Minnesota. Minnesota was interested in him. I'm fat. They want jd here. JD in order to do it. It would have been too many releases needed. I mean he would have to take a Kovic special exemption to try to get home, and this is the big ten's rules by the way this CWC. Aa, yeah the ANC. I actually called the NCAA. And just say hey up. A friend of my son is trying to transfer. Nebraska wants to go to Minnesota. Specific and this was like months ago. This before this even happened is when I knew he was going to transfer because people thought I was jokingly. Jay Foreman I joked about jd lead and I know you want to leave But we took a picture together at the Vikings game, and I totally we're going to tweet this out and troll people because I know people be mad and I did the whole show after like everybody went back to. To that picture from the Vikings, game. Iran told us he was gonNA. I'm told he's GONNA lead like he was not happy there. If he had graduated, he would've been gone, but he had a couple of classes to take. So Minnesota would have been too much work to get there and actually play and not have to sit out because he doesn't have any more eligibility left because he already Richard. So TCU was as Nebraska was willing let him. Him Go there so I think that was the two extra hanging out with me. Appreciate you having me at three Ron Johnson via twitter, you should follow him not only regarding football and life in Jim Chronicles but also came. "Not forty-two. PA Levin Am our. Ron Johnson at three Ron Johnson on twitter case. You were curious he's. Going to hang out with me, Lavelli Neil the third joining about twenty minutes from now, but right now one of our favorites. Ryan Carter. How're you doing this morning, man? I'm great. I'm great good weekend! Hockey's hockey's coming back. We're getting ramped up this week, so yeah I'm fantastic, are you? I'm doing well and I. Appreciate You giving me time this morning. Man I was I. tried to listen a bit before Saturday's with sauce. A show that we do on the fan and I was I was encouraged our excited, but then also disheartened that we're just trying to do this this little you know Saturday show, and apparently were trying to compete with you and Kevin Foulness. Analyzing the wild scrimmage at trio. How was that on Saturday? What don't feel bad. It's just hard to compete with having found this. He's just great No, but it was fun. It was good to see you know to be at the rank in some capacity competition out there I'm also I'm really excited intrigue how this all going to play out, and you've got a couple of weeks to get going so broadcasting. It was fun at times. Times I've probably got a little bit too excited. Because I m curious how this is all GonNa play looking forward to summer hockey so but yeah, there's another one coming up here on. Thursday was broadcast so hopefully you know you'll get. You'll get to catch that one and you know Saturday can, sauce can wait a little bit. I got you and you're right on Thursday I. I believe eleven am. It's GonNa, be you and Kevin Fall `Nice, and that's on both Kfi am plus and the Wild Youtube Channel, so that's eleven am on Thursday, the wild scrimmages, and there's a lot to unpack and and I think most people are how you framed it up. It's you know you want sports to be back you you want the the escaped the entertainment of the love of. Of It, you know in our business. We have devoted our careers to the two sports to the the trivial kids games where people get paid a bunch of cash, so we all wanted to come back, but you know the the weird nature of summer hockey. So so, what are you kind of learning as you've been able to observe these guys in practice in preparation for the trip to Edmonton. Well one how fast they can. The game has changed in that. Everybody is in good condition. Right off the bat. I think early on in my career. You had to come to camera a little bit early to try to get into shape, but I, I says more readily available. These guys train a lot better they they eat a lot better than we used to sell. Really I thought maybe that would be a story man. I don't really know that that's case. right now. These guys are coming in The practices have temple they look. Now. It's kind of about I. Think like execution and even the skill level of the kids these day to. Look at Kevin Fiala as a perfect example, his hands are are there right off the bat like he looks good so the guys look good, but yeah, no I mean. Sports, coming back and I think at first hockey positive I was really excited for it to come back and I was like okay. Let's get this going. Let's get this going hockey. Hockey's. It's the best hockey and the most entertaining to watch and. As as it is, summer went on, and we got into the meat of it. I thought okay. I don't think there's any chance we're going to play and Everything obviously ended up coming together so now. I'm super intrigued because this is a scenario where whether you're a rookie or your? You know in your twenty season. You don't know how to prepare for this. You don't know what the competitive advantages are going to be so. The playing field is even everybody's healthy. You've got each team's got two weeks ago into this a little bit of training camp, one exhibition game, and then we're playing the most meaningful hockey Um and Again. I followed and played hockey for a really long time. I just don't know as young legs. Is that the competitive advantage that isn't that an expansion, the or coaching? Getting the systems I truly don't know I'm so intrigued to watch. Find out you. You mentioned it. At first you excited for it to come back, and then now we're. We're all kind of confused by this unique process is all going to look like trying to bring it together in the in the hub city bubbles. What do you think players are thinking? Not Necessarily Minnesota wild, but as a pro player yourself and the long career that you had you think about where these and I don't WanNa simp- I don't necessarily sympathize with pro athletes, but I really questioned some times where there has been a four-month layoff, and it's where you feel in some ways like you're really trying to shoehorn this thing in there, and now if you're a good team, you might be away. Away from family, and and you're living in this this this isolated universe for a couple of months. You feel like there. There might be some players out there. That are like my God I, mean I I'll I'll pay money to not play in and kind of the different value of maybe a young kid like Fiala. He just wants to be on the ice and score goals were maybe that guy with twenty years of experience would rather stay home. Well I have a couple of thoughts on that. Why I if that is the case and there are players that that would prefer to be home. That's going to be extremely evident on tape video. You can't high on it, so in in terms of moving forward and building a team I like this test from management coaching standpoint, because you get a good look at your guys, and then you're really gonNA find out what they're about, and if you see any quick and your players right now, will you know that they're not one your guys going forward so? In that sense I am kind of curious to see if there are players, just shut it down. I don't believe that will be the case. I recall from my personal experience summer summer is a hockey player. Fun, we golf we fish. We hang out. You know you get to train. Shinni hockey's a blast, and then get ready for the meat grinder, and it's training camp in something exhibition games, and you know you're staring eighty two games down, and you're like okay knowledge going to turn into a gun. right when you get back. You can kind of feel like It's kind of the same feeling when school starts. You love. The summer and school starts in your car. I don't really want to get back to having something to do every single day. When you get back there, and you see all your buddies, and they're all the time and competing I think these guys realize. Okay. I'm back to my roots Michael Hockey player I wanNA to be here and it's fun and I think I saw that. Right off the bat first couple of days of practice lots of smiles, lots of energy lots of excitement at the rink and where I thought maybe some of these guys that would be a drag farm once they assemble as a group and getting that ice, and really they are. They're all competitors at their core to and getting a chance. Chance to go win a Stanley Cup in a situation like this I. Don't believe anybody leaves on his wild route seventeen. It was whoever there's going to be any quinton anybody's game. That's Ryan Carter whether you're seeing him on. Fox Sports North. You're hearing them on the wild radio network. The power trip morning show nine to noon occasionally as he is right now, Ryan Carter joins me now. The netminders goaltenders goaltenders the weird guys of the bunch she didn't. Play so well. Picking it up for you know a a situation with Devon. Dube Nick, the topic of life taking place off the ice, that kind of uprooted his routine, his life a little bit. Last year stay locked plays well down the stretch. Season is pause now you back. Where where does that whole that whole situation stand Duke Nick wants to get his groove back. You got tacking in the mix, just hanging out in the background. Stay locked probably wants to keep his job. Well I think it looks like true competition, and we're some view that as a negative weakness. I actually do as stink. Because you've got a couple of weeks to get into this and I think it's hard. It's hard to fake and create false urgency's and the fact that it's true competition at least from everything we've heard other dean. Henderson and management and everybody says it's competition it to do. Nick or stay lock so as.

"We realized native has been crucial keeping Europe whole free and at peace for over seventy years in his crucial now in its. Support in Afghanistan. Iraq for our forward presence in really trying to thwart President Putin's aggression into eastern, Ukraine. And so we are here supporting NATO, and I think that our European partners NATO allies are hearing that loud and clear Senator Ron Johnson. I appreciate your notes a outdoor street there and Munich really appreciate you. Give me a few minutes of your time, sir. Have a good day. So while Republicans try to deal with the president who is redefining what it means to be a conservative these days. Democrats have their own new issues progresses this week celebrated their scuttling Amazon's plans for a major expansion in New York City and the twenty five to forty thousand jobs and larger tax base. It would have brought with them Senator Elizabeth Warren among others cheered, the news. She tweeted that Amazon walked away all because some elected officials in New York aren't sucking up to them enough. But a majority of New Yorkers anima charity of Democrats supported the deal in New York state, the episode expose. A growing rift nationally between the democratic progressives. And it's traditional centrists and joining me now, the mayor of New York City build the plaza who I would argue he's caught in the middle there. Welcome back to meet the presser tuck. It's great to be here. But I'm progressive impromptu progressives are about jobs working people. So that's an essential progressive value. I read your up Ed in the New York Times, and you seem to you seem to blame Amazon for walking away. But let me ask this. You also argue that it was a fair deal. Why did fellow progressives? Not trust you that. You had come up with a good fare you. Call it on solid foundation chocolates democracy. I have no problem with my fellow progressives of critiquing deal or wanting more from Amazon I wanted more from Amazon too. But the bottom line is this is an example of an abuse of corporate power. They had an agreement with the people in New York City, as you said a majority of New Yorkers believe in it. They wanted the jobs. They wanted the revenue that would help us. To create more -able housing better. Mass transit there was a consensus in New York City. There are some people stood apart. That's fine. That's democracy. I respect them. But Amazon just took their ball and went home, and what they did was confirmed people's worst fears about corporate America. Here's the one percent dictate. Everyone else even though we gave them a fair deal. And I think it's going to frustrate people all over this country to see a company treat a neighborhood and a city like that. Well, if you're an Amazon shoes the deal that was offered them. They take it. And then they're in. Now, you want to change the deal is that if you're in their shoes, that's what it might have looked like to them. Did it not? How did not look like, oh, it looks like they want to change the deal. How long do you plan on doing that? And at some point. I got twenty other cities in America, offering me, no, you have to be a good corporate neighbor and a guy I think things are changing in this country. I think working people rightfully are demanding their fair share. They look at a situation where wealth empowers concentrated the hands of the one percent. They don't like what they see. And they're demanding more back. So we said to Amazon here's a fair deal. Bring us twenty five thousand and they took jobs, you will get ultimately when you give us a lot of revenue in the bargain, you'll get some incentives, but we need to work together on behalf of this community. And they said they want a partnership, but the minute there were criticisms they walked away. What does that say to working people that accompany would leave them high and dry simply because some people raise criticism, but they had a clear majority on their side. That's what bothers me they were more concerned about their corporate image. They were frayed of New York City politics, and the PR that can well, it sure looks that way back tablets couldn't handle the heat in the kitchen is what looks like. And but they let a lot of working people down in the bargain..
