You know we won't last today's season. I can see. Tom brady having another big season a better season than he did last year. He's great one of the best three quarterbacks. The games ill even no. I don't see signs of slowing down actually with the skill and deck. I got a quarterback. They should win the ceaseless touchdown tampa bay trip. Tom brady tampa great atmosphere. The nfl season kicks off tonight. Box and cowboys. raymond. James stadium is the bucks. Titled events begins. Keyshawn djabel imacs presented by progressive insurance guests. Join us on the goodyear hotline including rendezvous horror rhonda. You've seen both this bucks defense and the team that are on. That won the super bowl. How did the two defenses compare have been talking about it. All rhonda man. Chill it Greg question and I'd i'd like to say we're better. But i don't know man it's different. This is different Unit different scheme completely I'll tell you what it'd be a lot more fun to play in this defense. They one the bowls has here You know they they get after it. It doesn't mean you could be on johnson. Sit on the sideline and todd bowles draw blitz up for you. I mean that's how it works But yeah they're active. You know it doesn't matter if you're strong safety. Free safety either corner You're gonna get a chance to rush the quarterback you just. You just creates waves. You know to get presser On top of you know you marry that with with the talent that he has especially at outside linebacker I don't know if you guys watch Books preseason that this kid joe try on show. Inca is something else They're going to be tough out this year absence. I like how nice your day right now. You know damn well you know damn well that this defense is not as good as the defenses that you played on at the height. How many sex did you have. How many sex did you have in your career on day. Twenty twenty eight twenty eight sacks as a defensive back you talk about the speed it oppressor stop man can live down there so you gotta we gotta play a role with that being said though. Is this team legit team. That can go undefeated this season. Man you start talking that you start. You know taking your eyes off the ultimate goal. But i look at their schedule. There's a couple of teams that jump out at you. We we especially we three and four On the road back to back at rams in in patriots You know those aren't going to be easy game especially You know traveling coast to coast Like that but if there's a team that can do it it's it's it's these guys They they have it in all the right places you know. I mean how we ensure it's been beaten a death that they brought twenty two starters back. But what's being kind of left behind in in that sense that you know. There's eight or nine. Ten backups. Portland backups also. Came back So this is a team that has depth But the quality that they that they need to to sustain for seventeen game breaking some. So it's a it's a it's gonna be fun run. Can't wait to go tonight. Rhonda i was talking to maximum housing a question while you're answering that saying. When was the last time that tom brady was like really injured in mexico. I think two thousand matt cassel really came in how obviously luck plays into that to a degree. But how would you define what he's been able to do. But how much part is just being having. Great offensive is it staying healthy all bets going into last year. J. like Everybody was considering they looking for weaknesses on the team and off of the line was the one that everybody talked about it. You look at their off the line pretty pretty damn well. Tristan works as a rookie. Last year was one of the better right tackles in the nfl And you go down the line and there was only ever really one question. Mark and that was Alex kappa right guard. You know senator johnson Left guard and left tackle have been solid for for a while so you ask how tom they will stay healthy. That helps but the reality is man. Do doesn't take any hits. And he's so smart with a football knows when to get rid of You know you'll even see you know dive out of free free runners. They'll just go to the ground. Just he finds ways to protect themselves. and any looks young house with them a couple of days ago Right after the preseason and you're just like forty four years old and he doesn't even look at you know then active You watch them play. It's gotta live arm You know he's every part of his game but still sharp sharp as it was left him play them which was nine years ago. Ten years ago It's it's pretty amazing. These different somehow damon. The league after brady played long careers haven't played in a long time and this students still sling it all over the place key. You got something else for rodney before we gotta pay some bills. Yeah yeah. I was gonna ask ron day outside of tom. Brady take him away. Who's the most important guy to come back on the team..

"And guys like him but his talent level in perspective on the game require the time in. It's interesting because i just. I've learned over the years that that. I probably ask more questions of him than i do. Because i want to know what he sees and y yeah so that we can reproduce it on a more consistent based in and agree with this man. We coach players like that. They bring the best out in us. I learned the skills to coach maker down there in tampa coaching john. Lynch gold jacket. John lynch and ronnie barber right. You're twenty eight man. Coaching twenty nine year old. John lynch you know in rendezvous shoot up by college ball against ron day man just the the level of preparedness that you have to be be ready for The challenge of coaching great players. And not not only great players great physical skills but guys with great intellect man. It brought the best out in us. And it probably celebrate accelerate my growth and development and really made me view the gain from from a different perspective for example rondi was so sharp that i started coaching. Roddy like a sam linebacker. Even though he was playing nickel keyed the box and he played the running. He runs like sam linebacker in really prior to that point. I didn't know any secondary coach's coaching nichols in their way. To be honest with without a doubt is the first nicholas on the football league chase chased pull on the counter scheme and go. Make the tackle on the other side of the ball And not stumble into i'm talking about. He keyed it in played. It and i say that. I tell that story because it's really the same approach that i've taken some to deal with maker make have that level of football intellect in so mendez a lot. There's a lot more meat on that bone. Then under normal circumstances win the process right now. This summer of talk about deal with his alignment debts based on the nature of the offense is right. Rpo's versus play action formation structure and things of that nature conversations. Quite honestly that you could not have with with most guys He's able to digest things and make it turn on the field. That other guys can't in so if you don't i recognize that shame on you as a coach but then you also got to come up with a formula to reproduce it at a consistent level into help him play a ball. Money used to tell me in iran remember this. He's like man. It's easy to get a cd player to play. Be get an eight player to show up and play every week. You know in his real it you know. We always want pat ourselves on the back. Will we get a backup when he plays good. You know And no like. I'm gonna be interested is in what aaron donald plays like weekend and week out half raw. You know what. I mean because the challenges for us in the standard that we held ourselves to his coaches was just that carries the gift. Make an average player. Play good can. Can we get the great. Was the play great every week. And and that's the approach. Still hold to this day and that's the spirit in which are our coach maker. Here met is funny. Man listened to mike tomlin. Talk right now in. A lot of coaches get pressure from the media media whether it got play. Well no my perfect prosecution known that mike. Tom terminates. Though it comes from internal sources that you know who you value. They're paying so high that you got to get your take a no disrespect to anybody else watching but your precious should come from bill so you know know exactly what trying to get done. How you deal with talk situations like sean talked about earlier. How you play your eight players play a south football and i remember going to work with the hall. A star player. Who wasn't playing football. When i got there in when i left you certainly play a style football and those are the things that make you feel really good as a coach. Kinda lunatic carried on my time was talking about you. Know i still wanna make those see bee's but definitely wanna make those as every week and it's great and i work with hall now on the nfl network and he's getting better and better at the broadcast game where it's cool to watch his skills evolve and have opinions and have takes and he's a fantastic guy and obviously had a great nfl career. Sean now there's as different dynamic where you're the head coach and roz the defensive coordinator. How's it going. so far. And how much of you relied on rahim in ryan. How much have you seen. Sean grow in the four years. He's been the head coach for one. I continued to rely on rahim from afar because of our friendship. You know going back to when we were just kicking it in tampa and you never realize how many things you drawn until you get into this role where so much of this stuff comes up but to have him there as somebody. That's been through it. That is a genuine friend but got such a capacity for the game. Got an elite few with people and how to handle some of those conflict conversations. I always say like truth is just simply meeting the truth or difficult. Conversations is really just about meeting the truth head on and he's as good as anybody. I've been around about that Couldn't be more grateful. And then you know there is something to be said that consistent energy man it rubs off on people you know you got a tough time you know. Sometimes you get some never net. Naturally things come across your desk but y- on phase by and that helps me and you know i. I couldn't be more grateful to be reconnected with them and It's been fun. And you know when i when i called him and i said what do you think and you know. He's got a chance to see. Aaron donald and jalen ramsey and come out to l. as head shoot. Signed me up and so it's It's been great. So far about sean. And i tell them i tell them daily artillery day because a lot of times. You don't hear this enough when you're in that position because people don't wanna come to you because they feel someone intimidated. But i tell them what i think. He does a good job. And i think you do some better. I think that's part of my roles. Bad beat that that honest at that truth teller to him into watch him in position. Absolutely take control and ownership of building is wanted to most impressive things. I've seen coaching I am as proud as anybody on and not to put him as like my little brother where i am at all but i am so proud to see him now. He leaves the room. How it leads the team and how it leads building organization that more importantly i think some of the things some of the traits that's gonna make him One of the easy coaches and asleep for a long time before she could be around this guy on the lower half of my screen for a long time a new a great head coach before it was great head coach and walker begin and get better. Now get a chance to be apartment showing doing that now. I can't be i. I i can't do sean. What do you see for mike. Tomlin that you say okay. That's a guy that i can emulate my coaching skills after. And what have you learned from him. Well yeah i mean..

"What else were we doing you right Until nowadays it's much shorter. But guys are also doing more stuff on their own like Tom Brady. Who I never get worried. They said he was he was practicing. Oh, I think was a Yankee Stadium was with the Yankees. Yeah. The Yankees damn parts of Tampa facility until they went over there. Which is, which is it's, uh, Here's the thing. Bt you've been You've been down there right for Tampa to 10. Yeah, training camp, right. It's directly across the street. From where the Devil Bay Buccaneers facility is right. There s so why That's right. I'm better feel why they can't cross the street. You know why the symbolism of it? That's exactly a little love in light of the sand. And I mean, if you remember last year when Tom Brady was in when we were in Cove, it Tom Brady was working out at a private school, and we remember this because it was where Ron Days kids go to school, or at least one of Rodney's daughters went to school. And so it's kind of like I cool I get it. I understand that. You know, you can't be around the facility, the facility's closed Now they don't want to be around the facility. But they are legit across the street, right? And I'm not even not even exaggeration there across the street for for optics, or for whatever reason to stay away from the facilities. Come on. Mm. All right. I mean, these there's gonna be this isn't a flare up. This is just the reaction to the initial appearance on ESPN. But until this is resolved, you're going to get a little snippet here. You know, somebody surmise. Is this somebody Reveals that somebody doesn't show up for this. It's it is what it is, until Rogers is actually wearing a Red jersey thrown spirals. It's not over and by the way he's in Hawaii right now. Aaron Rodgers on vacation with his fiancee, Woodley. Blame him. By the way he better be getting at that golf game tight. You see the new match up? Yes, the match the match again. They've got It's going to be Michelson and Brady against the Shambo and Aaron Rodgers. Which is kind of awesome. Yep. And speaking of I gotta find this because we talked about this. The whole captured the shamble thing. Yep. Brooks kept to sweet it before. This is relentless, like he's not stopping. He tweeted. I guess it was a picture. Oh, he wrote all the road was Sorry, bro. And at Aaron Rodgers meeting Sorry that you've got to play with shambo and then the shambo sub tweeted. Brooks Capta and said, I love that I live rent rent free and your head. Wow. I mean, I'm telling you, this is gonna get ugly. Put him on the box. Put him on the box together. Let's go. Thing's dragging on. I love it Will drama. All right, coming up, Not a whole lot of drama on the court little drama. Maybe off the court would carry, Irving said about the Celtics fans. But Nets a cruise and what have we learned about the net so far in this Syriza's and also.

"Media you recognize the town is just off the charts rare rare physical specimen to throw at plenty of time. Sometimes you think supernatural with the eleventh pick in the two thousand hundred twenty one. Nfl draft the mice. Icago bear select justin field quarterback ohio state. Everyone it's daniel jeremiah from move the sticks and i'm bucky brooks and this is just feels three sixty buck. I know bears fans are fired up. I don't know that seen this fan base this excited in quite some time. They've got themselves new quarterback. And i think we can say he's got the superstar potential here in justin feels. He absolutely has superstar potential. But we're gonna talk. Some guys who have spotted at potential very early in justin feels lifetime where they've seen really developed from a guy who was kind of under underrated prospect of becoming one of the top prospects as a high school quarterback to have success. Not only a joy to begin at ohio state to being a guy that was taken at the top of the board. Ron veal mad dickman. Justin feels high school football coach at harrison high ron day trend deal for coach. Justin feels that elite eleven. John beck who coached him doing their pre-draft process Jk dobbins a couple of his teammates all provide perspective on justin feels. Who was who could be the next level. No doubt and when we talk about him as a player before we get into these conversations With these great folks that know him at his has as anybody buck. I think the sky's the limit. We talk about everything you can do. You talk about the ability to create plays talking about his ability on design quarterback runs. You talk about him in the pocket to deliver the ball accurately at all three levels. Big time arm strength My only knock on him For for really. It's kind of nitpicking. Right is just playing with a little more urgency right. Let's just speed up. Let's crank it up a little bit and get going can be a little bit delivered at times but mom excited for him. I think that's that's fixable. And if he does get that going and picks up the place beat a little bit watch out watch out here a tremendous amount of potentially we've seen that potential play out at times those who have studied him..

"For me lately? Business and I know that I've known that my whole career One of things you gotta watch got going to do it again, So can't be satisfied with just doing one Chicago every season. I keep going at it. Just one of those things. You gotta roll with the punches. Um, whatever, not do you present yourself. You gotta be ready to take advantage of it. That's kind of what I've done going my entire career and that's why I keep doing so. It's not like my dad's not gonna be handed to me. I'm gonna be handed anyone in this week. Start. You gotta go in there and work that applies to the world That is gonna be hands than anybody in this world. That's always a smart mantra of life. There's a Childress about what? How he says that you know what I mean. It's kind of like Yeah, it is what it is. You know, I understand it. I'm not upset about this. I'm not. I'm not Carson wincing this like when? When Jalen hurts, took his job. I understand it, and he kind of has to And his seven seasons BT he started 16 games one time Now that time was the Super Bowl season for the Sam Cisco 40 Niners, But I mean, since he became, let's they say the guy In in in San Francisco, He started three games 16 in six games. That's it, and he was there. Obviously 2017 after the after the after the trade. And he only started five games that year. But it was five and Oh, right, so it's just kind of. It's hard to like, feel bad for him for not getting his opportunities because he hasn't always been available, and that's the most important skill that you could be. Have for a team is we've always heard just be available. He hasn't been that way. If you're out on the field, you don't have any value. We all know that I got you, but I want to go back to what you said before about how you know he's seemingly okay with it, And they said peace I think it's the opposite. I mean, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna lean too much on inflection or words, though he does strike the proper balance on both. But I think it's the opposite for Jimmy. Because He's been He's three yards from being a Super Bowl champion. And quite conceivably, the Super Bowl M v P and, you know every every time he gets A little. A chance, not a little, but a chance to car about. This is undeniable. You know, NFL legacy, even though I'm not saying all time, great but a truly defined like stamp his career. His knee buckles or something happens Now there's what he's healthy, but now that it's all right now we got the new guy. I think it's the opposite. I think that Jimmy doesn't wake up every day feeling that it's okay if it ended. I think Jimmy wakes up every day, saying Man I am. I am as motivated as ever to to prove to the dissenters. And there's some if not many, that that I am. What people thought I was three years ago. Yeah, but what makes you say that? Because you don't You don't think competitors? Yeah, but I mean, but the reality is he just he hasn't been available around hasn't played This is what it is. Doesn't mean that he's okay with it doesn't mean he's not Jason. It doesn't It doesn't desperately needed or wanted for his own competitive soul. True, But when I hear him say, Yeah, trey lands because coming in, I'm gonna do all I can to mentor him. Yeah, Tom Brady men toward me, and it was a good relationship. It's almost like saying yeah, I understand. This kid's gonna take my job and I'm okay with it. I don't know. I remember this person. This is this is personal to me because they did giant drafted Ron Dayne in the first round, right in 2000 and deservedly cell because I also was hurt a lot, and it's a different position, so it's not really apples to apples here, but I remember when he drafted Ron Day, and the first thing that I was saying was, this is gonna be great for me because it's gonna force me to tea get better. And you know, I want to win my job. I wanna Be that guy that that's that's my instinct was my instinct when I hear Jimmy Garoppolo saying Yeah. You know, I'm gonna help you get better on mentor him that it's kind of feels like he's resigned. T the fact that he's not the guy anymore in San Francisco, and I don't. I mean, I guess I guess it's okay if it works for him. Works for the 40 Niners. It'll be all right, but I don't know I I don't I don't see that ultra competitiveness. When I hear a guy say that I don't think it would have gone to the league without that. Also competitive this coming from where he came from. Yeah, I mean, Jimmy Garoppolo wasn't a slouch. I know he would. Do you know who it was, I know, but he was sick and he was a second round pick. It's not like he was like, 1/5 round pick. I got it. He was picked 62nd overall by the by the by the by the The Patriots, right? And Yeah, he sternal annoys a tiny school, but they've had some pretty damn good quarterbacks come out of there, including Tony Rome. Oh, in a coach and Sean paid so Yes, The expectations probably weren't elite when he came to the door and patriot because of who he was sitting behind. In fact, I don't even remember him being drafted in the second round and full disclosure when he was drafted me and all of a sudden we heard this. This this brouhaha. A couple of years in the Tom Brady was kind of, you know, feeling some angst with his backup quarterback. I was like, Who the heck is Jimmy? Glad I don't know that kid. And then you start the look that guy, he's actually pretty good in college, Just second round pick. Okay. Now I see why Tom Brady's a little bit upset about this, but I don't know. I don't. I don't know where his drive is to be that guy. Maybe it's internal, but I haven't heard it haven't heard him say those things. Which makes me think he's okay with what's happening to him in San Francisco. Let me read this. This is totally different. Just so this sweet from Schefter, and this is why the NFL stinks. All right. On some level, it's the best, but it's It's brutal. So Broncos offensive tackle Juwan James suffered a season ending tort Achilles. Good. That's terrible. Yep, toward Achilles, working out today away from the team facility. James is $10 million salary for the upcoming season is now in jeopardy. Being that Denver is no longer obligated to pay him working out off site non football related injury, even though it's clearly is a football related injury. And then Ross Tucker, our buddy quote, tweeted what Schefter wrote. You wrote brutal. If this happens in the facility, he gets all 10 mil..

Jimmy Garoppolo Tony Rome Ross Tucker Ron Dayne Sean Schefter five games 16 games $10 million San Francisco 62nd six games Jason 2017 2000 James 10 mil Super Bowl three games Ron Day

"To 1 to four CBS Is Number two jump on in That's 855 to 1 to 42 27. You could always get at me on the good old cess pool of Twitter at Zach Gelb's EA Ch G, L B or on our network's account. CBS Sports Radio Matt Naoko is going to join us coming up in an hour and 20 minutes from now. 40 Niners insider for NBC Sports Bay Area. We're going to try to get an answer out of him on who he thinks is going to be the number three overall pick for the 40 Niners and the draft. That is tomorrow. Is that crazy? After months and months of speculation. The draft is tomorrow. Alert Alert Alert. The draft is tomorrow. Thank God because if we have to spend another day this team's going to do this. This team's going to do that. I may just end up projectile vomiting. And I think I did reach my boiling point last night when I just erupted like a volcano. And once again I wasn't yelling at my producer Ryan Traci Key. I was just yelling at his information. As one. Mike Francesa once yelled Peter Schwartz. So we will do some more Jap breakdown that Naoko coming up on our 20 from now you don't want to miss that and also at eight, P.m. Eastern Tradition unlike any other. No, It's not the Masters. It's the Zach Killed show Top 10 much draft on CBS Sports Radio. 10 teams. 10 experts. 10 picks and I have no control over it. Other than just saying, OK, we go to this guy. We go to that guy. Because this guy we go to that guy, but I don't get to control who they're picking. So if you don't like the pics, don't get mad at me. Get mad it then we're coming alive is always from the rocket mortgage studios. We need certainty in the home buying process with the loan that fits your life. Rocket can will get into Pete Carroll. He did speak today, along with John Schneider will get a little update. What's cooking with Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks, and we did see a trade today. Teddy Bridgewater no longer a member of the Carolina Panthers. He's now going to Denver for 1/6 round pick. What does that mean for the NFL draft? We will get into that later on during the Zach Killed show on CBS sports radio. As we do have four hours to play today, We'll do a news brief. We will do it closing Bell as well. You never know what else may pop up and what else may excite us and make us just end up talking about it for A minute, five minutes. 10 minutes 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes or sometimes even the entire show. I got to start off with this today because usually when we focus on the NFL draft, it's the top 10 picks. It's all about quarterbacks. It's all about which wide receiver is going to go first. Are we going to see a running back? Go in the first round? Who's going to be the first defensive player off the board? Very rarely do we focus on The end round of the first round, like the later picks in the first round, and I saw today that Antonio Brown is re signing with the Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay, Champa Bay Buccaneers and Brown's contract is worked up to $6.25 million, and it's a guarantee of 3.1 million, including a $2 million signing bonus. Now, if you recall With Antonio Brown and a lot has happened, but what they be when he was in Pittsburgh. Then the helmet didn't fit with the Raiders that he's running and the screaming, grandma. I'm free. I'm free. I'm free and he goes to the Patriots, then a bunch of stuff off the field did go down and it was settled from what we did read last week. Maybe wanted to play with Tom Brady. I guess Lamar Jackson wanted Antonio Brown, too, and Russell Wilson was also trying to make a run at Antonio Brown last year. Now, if you recall was right here on CBS Sports Radio. Bruce Arians was Alma Tiki and tyranny, and he totally dismissed the idea of Antonio Brown joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You know, Bruce areas before him, we love be a He's a friend to show he has been on the show multiple times, but Bruce Arians, also at one point did tell May also on CBS Sports Radio. Now it goes on ticking and turning all the time. I think actually be a was once Tiki Barber's baby sitter when Tiki was grown up with Ron Day as a as a kid because Tiki's father roomed with Bruce Arians when the two of them were in college and be a being a temple guy to be a has been on this show before a bunch and I remember when Bruce Arians was retired, and he was working for CBS. I asked him if he'd have any interest in the Packers job, and he said no. No interest in the Packers job. If I was going to return to coaching, the only job he would take would be the Cleveland Browns. Here we go. Brown is here we go, Wolf. And now we know because of the Jason light relationship. He did return to Tampa Bay, and now he is a Super Bowl winning coach to go along with the two coach of the year awards that he has one when he had to take over for Chuck Pagano during Chuck's unfortunate battle with cancer, And then you also had him winning a coach of the Year award when he was out in the desert. With the Arizona Cardinals. So, Bruce areas at the time said they weren't gonna bring in Antonio Brown. And sometimes that could be a big time battle in the organization..

"You play with so much fire and so much enthusiasm and such a hunger What was your driving? Motivation? Where did that thirst come from? Off the dirt road that I was raised on three jobs. I watched my mom worked. I mean, someone is not something. We finally heard my mom yelling for me to get up and go to school. No one should get back from work. I'll be sleeping. I'm not here the next morning jelly. There's a go play football on Friday and then Saturday, I go with her to her other job to help her with that job so she could get home or because I wouldn't see all week. That was my drive my home because if I did what I did to the best of my ability, she wouldn't do number. Watch fish, swim all week and feed him and then come watch me play football on the weekends, and I like that a lot better. So your motivation was not to make your life better so that you don't have to go back to that spot. Retire. Mom. My mom worked my mom. I'm the baby's six. My mom worked three jobs for 36 years bust. So I was not that was not the whole purpose was to make sure she fed our fish and can watch me play football. That's pretty cool. So when you took the field, you put that helmet on throughout your career. Your thought was this is from Mom. I'm getting her out of this situation. Every time that I was coming off that field at the woman up, she'd be standing right there sitting and we point at each other. When we would have questioned what it was. She loved watching me play. Mm hmm. The chief had she feel watching your climb with Tampa Bay and the Buccaneers getting better and better and better. Oh, man, it was you not tell you funny story that we built Raymond James Stadium could we got out of the old, you know. Hello. Hola, hand tempeh stating whether we won't call those sombrero I call the big high school state because one number bleaches just ran up. 71 70 74 rolls his breeches. So we get the Raymond James Stadium and I called my mom. Mom, we play the first game over here. She what? What time 7 30. We get over this appreciation game, mind you. I come out of the game and I cut my tape of my mom looks at me and say what What you doing? I said I'm doing mine his preseason My mom picked up her personal jacket and looked at me and they don't call me unless you ready to play some football. Get my mouth all ready for the football Is she storms out of the stadium line? So your mom hates preseason football them up, just like the rest of us. The conversation with warrants. That was so much fun. It really put the cherry on top of our Super Bowl coverage here for Sunday morning football. I just want to replace some of that for you because so much of that was so good, you know? I've talked about this that Super Bowl weekend radio row is 12 year old D A. You know, pinching himself going. I can't believe I get to do this and that conversation with Warren Sapp, even though we were not a radio road this year. Was a reminder of that. Just going to talk to some of these great having such great stories, and sap is just such an amazing conversation that I loved so much about that. I mean number one to know that Warren Sapp's mom was sick of preseason too. Don't call me to come watch football game was, you're really playing in it. Preseason stinks. Number two when they do get through the playoffs. Finally, in 2000 and two it ends up on the road at the vet in Philadelphia, and everybody assumed, including myself. Well, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers of Florida team that has never won under the 40 degree mark ever is going to go to Philadelphia in the final game ever Veterans Stadium. For a chance to go to a Super Bowl? No, this is the coronation, and the Eagles had been there a number of times before that they had been there three years in a row. So everybody assumed Well, the Eagles are winning this football game. That is the way this thing is going and the Buccaneers defense at absolutely dominated that game and the sound of the vet even though I wasn't there, you could tell through TV. Was so eerie Nobody expected it. It was supposed to be a coronation. And at the end of it, it was just stunned Silence, like what do we do now? What are we supposed to do now? We were going to the Super Bowl and now the buck in years air going it didn't make any sense. It didn't register. So that was an amazing story, and you've got to also remember the Buccaneers. They just won a Super Bowl two days ago three days ago, so it's it's hard again to remember this. But the Bucks were the joke of the NFL the way that we talked about the Browns for years and the way that we talked about the Jaguars now is what the bucket ears were. The Bucks in 1983. 21 14. 1985 to 1 14 1986 to 1 14. 1991 3 and 13. Tony Dungy gets there. 1996 Six and 10. Head and six playoffs. Eight. Nate 11, 5 playoffs 10 and six playoffs nine and seven playoffs. And they felt like they had hit a ceiling with Dungy. But the work that Dungy put in to mold SAP and Brooks and Lynch and Ron Day Barber and the rest of those guys was a Herculean task. Tony Dungy's greatest work might not have been in Indianapolis, where he actually won a Super Bowl. It might have been in Tampa Bay, where he turned around a franchise that was a laughing stock and put them in the playoffs every single year with one of the best defense is in football. And so for them to break through was an extraordinary accomplishment and then Just his thoughts on his mom and growing up and why he did. It was just so awesome. So I hope you enjoy that. I mean, Mariah's I know that you're always a fan of the old guys talking football, and I just thought that conversation with sap was just phenomenal. Yeah, and just that era and the idea of closing down the vet because you know how much I can't stand the Philadelphia Eagles and what the box did that day. And you're so right because that was like the epitome of Warm weather team traveling to cold weather. You don't trust that they're gonna get it done, and they were the more physical dominant team, And that is probably one of a very small handful of games that involve my New York giants during that era where I just smiled. For 60 minutes and couldn't get enough of it. I loved when the box closed down the vent. It is one of my favorite non giant moments and games of all time in the NFL and hearing him reminisce about it. And I had forgotten that they opened up the link and shut out the Eagles as well as kind of a rematch. The Eagles couldn't even get revenge on them. I couldn't get enough of that. It's kind of crazy to think that that was the last Super Bowl, where there was no weekend between. It's hard to even fathom winning a championship game N F C R A F C and then playing the Super Bowl a week later. Imagine that. Yeah, For a long time. That was that was the case him And now that's why we got into February Super Bowls, and honestly, they could this work because we just played a foot A Super Bowl on what February. 7th Imagine finishing this thing up a week to 10 days earlier than it already was. Give me that now. It's weird also, that I know, too, that they went back to one a week. I guess it was some type of calendar thing, because it was always two weeks even well before that, and then they went back to one week. And now since then, it's just been absolutely It's gotta be two weeks, which makes more sense. But in that case, Warren Sapp says it. It helped us because we just had to focus immediately on winning a Super Bowl and not Been caught up in Super Bowl hype in a week away and things like that. Andrew Bogus, says our headlines this morning here on the show, Bogue's Do you remember watching the Buccaneers Shut down the vet in 2002. Yeah. And, like Shawn, I mean, anything bad to Philadelphia teams is always good for us. New Yorkers s so I think we should all have a little. Maybe a tiny bit of bucks, love and appreciation forever for that one. Well, Don't even think just New Yorkers. I think just a lot of people nationally like to see Philly fans shut up close second. Pretty amazing. So A bee has ever headline this morning, Mr Boggs. What we got Well, we still don't know all the details about the crash last Thursday, the left a five year old girl with life threatening injuries..

"We had Warren Sapp on Sunday morning football and Sunday morning Football now done. Dunn's O Season six in the books. So hopefully we'll reboot this. I assume that we will for season number seven coming up in September. But we ended on a high note as we had both Warren Sapp and Christian McCoy to join us for viewpoints of the Chiefs and the Buccaneers to legends of those two franchises, and SAP is just He's always been an amazing talker. Always. He's just He was always so charismatic on the football field when he was miked up. He was always so entertaining and sap continues to be a great conversation. So I wanted to play some of this for you because I just thought it was really fun and really funny. First off? Asked Warren Sapp specifically. About being drafted by the Buccaneers when he was drafted. There was now infamous shots of him looking absolutely miserable in the green room and at that time in the mid nineties Bucket ears were awful. They were seen as a joke, and he was a Florida native, you know, he had played his college ball in Miami had grown up in central Florida, so he was keenly aware of all the punch lines of the Buccaneers had been. And so there is this look at his face of you Got to be kidding me. I got drafted by the Bucks. So I asked Warren Sapp about that. This is where the conversation went. Long clock went off a long time ago. So I'm walking home from that nightmare. But the thing that I did do was I walked into organization that had Hardy Nickerson, Derrick Brooks. John Lynch. Lonny March. You know, mon, May you, Thomas Ever. Nobody Busses some really good professionals that knew what they were doing, but they were surrounded by some people who didn't know what they were doing. So in came Tony Dungy, and I didn't mind the work. You know, my name is stop. That's a four letter word, too. So we didn't mind the work, so we went to work at it and, you know, luckily, we put forth from good concrete and built the foundation for something special. No doubt about it. And as you guys built that throughout the late nineties, it was it was hard to go to Tampa and when, if you're an opponent, it was hard to play. Get your defense with you and Brooks and Lynch and Ron Day and everybody And then you guys end up getting to the playoffs year after year and finally getting through that championship in 2002 knowing where the organization was when you got there. And then having that culmination in 2002 with a championship. How rewarding was that? Unbelievable. Lit up the best. The best of the worst part about it was we didn't have this bye week in between it. We don't have time to think about it. I mean, we left Philly got on the plane Monday morning flew to San Diego. Six days later, we were always on the field. I mean, it was so fast that you know we don't have time to think about what we were doing and how we were doing it. I mean, it was It was next and you were so good and ready to go and It was our time. That's what we really felt like It was that time. It was incredible. Because you come off that emotional NFC championship game when at the vet and you shut down the vet. Nobody thought that a Florida team could go up to the back of the book. Definitely that they definitely cold, right. And you guys not only one, but you just destroyed him. I mean, you just strangled on the death all night. Well, we closed the back down the way you're supposed to be closed down with a woman s. Oh, was that we could live with 18 years ago. Was that even more satisfying in some ways, because you can't know that we got nemesis. We had went up that of the two years before they even got b 31 9 31 10 some right now he's getting destroyed. Absolutely getting, and then we went there on October the 20th. And it's same year got 22 10 s. Oh, yeah, but, boy, you had vindication and the way they did role yet to them. Mm yeah, we fall off down the road of them. There's no way the book's gonna be in the way that you did. It was impressive. And the defense once again. I mean, it carried the 2002 bucks every single week. But in that game, you shut it down. What was What was the sound of silence like at the end of that game, with stunned Eagles fans walking out as they closed the vet? The first time they didn't boom leaving a playoff game because you know, I I was voices enough to think that we were gonna drag a stadium out in the middle of field and you know, and over the NFC that you know the George Halas trophy. I looked around and there was nothing but a bunch of cops around them, like Holy smokes takeover right to the locker room. And then I didn't know they were doing it in the locker room, like man would stay in there. They would, like stepped in the locker room. I had to take off running. I mean, it was unbelievable. It was unbelievable. The one of the loudest rowdiest places on earth. It just went like, like all the air got sucked out of it. You suck the soul out of those Eagles fans. They expected party packed in Philly right now to this day with with San Diego on, I'm going to send me Oh, they look at me crazy lady that I closed event and I opened the link with Shut out. Don't get mad at me. Oh, lot of unused tickets to San Diego in Philadelphia. When you guys in the bag is still packed. You look like you're right or in sap is our guest here on CBS sports radio..

"This is Philadelphia's 9 90 am the answer dot com and we are here this morning to Dyson slice and slice and talk about, Ah lot of different things that happen, including some local stuff That happened as I said, we're going to be delving into the whole Columbus issue Columbus Day issue later on in the show. I would have got some friends coming on to talk about different things. But we're going to talk about a O C and some hot water that I got myself into writing about AOC. We're gonna talk about Marjorie Taylor, Greene and guys. If you expect that we're gonna be talking about the impeachment and all of that stuff. I'm probably not going to spend as much time as you might. Like or you might think on the impeachment because you have the master coming back tomorrow. The great Crystal Gaul will be behind the microphone and he will be able to shepherd you through all of the different stages of the crazy show trial that they're going to be putting on in D. C. I don't need to do that for you. And it doesn't start until tomorrow anyway. So while we might touch on some of the issues of the constitutionality of impeaching of trying to get rid of someone who's already gone You know, I'm gonna leave most of it. I'm gonna leave the heavy moral lifting. Tonto. Krista call. And by the way, Chris, if you're listening again, my sympathies. My, You know my condolences for what happened with Andy and the Chiefs. But then, if you think about it again, and he also has his Super Bowl, it's almost a this point. It's kind of like you can let Tom Brady do whatever Tom Brady wants to do as long as your team has gotten a Super Bowl, and your team in our case, in particular has beaten Tom Brady, right. I was double that I've you that a little bit differently. I was hoping that Andy would avenge Veterans Stadium. Because against the Bucks back in 2003. They came in to the vet and, you know, beat us and Randy Barbara took back that long, You know, Interception that pick six barber s. Oh, so that was before we actually won the Super Bowl. We had to live with that for About 14 13 14 years. So I was hoping Andy would have a chance to avenge the death of Veterans Stadium because I'll never forget Keyshawn Johnson standing there screaming, You know, no more vet, you know, like, like, uh, now and then and then to have it happen with Ron Day Barber who wasn't even the more famous of the twins, You know, I mean, it couldn't even been Tiki that did it. He wasn't but he got the ring. Thanks to you. I don't believe I think Kiki was retired the year before they won their first. That's not their first. But the Giants won the Super Bowl. That's right. That's right. Imagine, you know, a mama to have two kids. Well, the missus, Mrs Manning, You know her hubby, you know, and then let's say Archie Manning, Peyton and Eli didn't have anybody else in that family that plays football, and I know they're all retired at this point. No, I think Cooper they trot out on like Fox and Psycho like Cooper's corner or whatever, but, yeah, he Simpsons did a bit where Eli and Peyton we're playing. Keep away from Cooper, and they were throwing the ball over, Is it? Oh, God, Could you imagine being the third brother and family, But Ronde and Tiki Barber is just a quick, funny story about that My mom was on a plane. And she said, how there was this. You know this black man just dressed extremely well and he had this huge ring and I'm like, Wow, and she's telling the story. Uh, so we're even dinner. Probably a couple A couple months later, 3 to 6 months later, and she's like, Oh, my gosh, That's him. That's the guy and she was pointing Tiki Barber on TV of like That's I said, Wait. So you were sitting next to rendezvous Barber than on the plane said was I had to get that. That's who it was. Well, he was very nice. I'm like, Yeah, you got my back. What a great fun a napkin or that's probably why he was so nice and was talking to her because it's not like she's one of these people. It was, like, all right, so let's talk football for entire flight. She had no idea. I was one day Barbara. I love it. My sister sat next to Shondaland data. One time on a on a flight and this Woz let me see He had been with Dallas and then he went with us, and I think he was on his way out. But she came home and she was talking about this because she wasn't really into football it that we're talking 20 some years ago, and she said all this really nice guy, and he's really nice looking and I think he played football. Then she said his name is Sean and I said Sean Land data she goes. Yeah, I knew he had an Italian list. Everything. You're sat next to Shawn Land data, and you didn't. It's the same exact thing that total cluelessness on the part of our family members. It's embarrassing to be related to these people. I'm mean nothing against your mother. She gave birth to you. So she did something tonight. But I mean, my sister. I'm like, really seriously Sean, Linda and not that he was. He was great in his early years in his heyday, and he was really cute, too. Of course, you know everybody's younger than they and he was in tire was my sister was She was about. She's probably about 15 or so years younger than he was at that point. But yeah, our brushes with greatness are our brushes with greatness are by proxy through people who have no idea what's going on. Yes, I'd rather have more aware people representing me when they sit next to famous football players. Yeah, No. Well, whatever so anyway, so go back to Tom. We have some time before the break..

You're like 3.5 4 minutes. And that was like, sting having sex because he does all that tantra stuff. Where you watching the game like I am watching at home. Where you watching the game on the 50 yard line from a sweet No, I I have. I'm not going to the game. Um, how many Super Bowls have invaded? Have you have I been in? Have you been to? Yeah, I've, uh, I've been to. I don't know. I've been lucky to go to a lot of Super bowls more than 10. Yes, you sock. Have you ever sat on the field or watch the game from the field for the Super Bowl? I've never watched the name portion of the game. Uh, the whole pre game a couple times We got field passes. Um, Who was that? The Ah Ah, I'm sorry. The Green Bay Packers and Steelers OK? And then the Seattle's Seahawks and the The interception gate. Uh, yeah. Where we were on the field before the game, which did run the ball in there. What did the pass instead? Back? Yeah, I'll defend that call day long. But will you You there. We lose him. Oh, my God. He defended Colony just by Trump. You just walked right off right there. He's done better. That's it. Just like I love the fed that call they love Might drop boob outta here. Done. Oh, no, You got me there. You know, I was gonna say, Oh, my God. I thought you were leaving me to talk to Tuscan by myself now. No, no, no, no, no, it was there. Something wrong? My connection, But it was the uh yeah. The Look, the guy came out of nowhere on he had an open past. He had an open receiver. Everybody in the world expected to do what? Because the other hand it off to Marshawn Lynch. Um so anyways, it is what it is Marshall knowledge. You see the subway commercial where he's at the monster truck tire? Yeah. Do you see the little thing on the bottles like do not attempt No. So if you next time you see the subway commercial, Marchand Lige, But he said the big tractor trailer. It's like a stunt Do not attempt. You have to put that in this day and age. I mean, they put if you watch some commercials now and its people without mass, they all say This was filmed before Cove it or something to that to that notion as I come on, Do you really have to put a disclaimer on everything? Now? Is everybody that much of a Sally where you're carrying that you have to do that. Yeah, unfortunately, you know, I mean, look at that. It's the pendulum right? The pendulum swings dramatically in this country. And now the pendulum, uh, is Web It's the world we live in. I mean, you can either Ah, fight it, Um Or you can accept it. And hopefully that the Ah it comes back to normal, which typically does But you know the what's happening here in Tampa? I mean there. I think the NFL's looking great. I can't say the Tampa is looking great. What were you in the bar last night? And I was I am. Tibor was the last time you been in the war. Treat. Yeah, it's been a while, Um, I think the last time I was any boards. One of the bands on the label played at Ah, Bar or club down there eight years ago nine years ago, But you know, the hard part is this is that we've been dealing with this for for the better part of 10 months. I still blame Miami for all this last year's Super Bowl, because I'm sure this was happening around there that everyone in Miami for the Super Bowl 80,000 people, plus all the visitors, and they went out and they blew it everywhere else. I'm kidding. It's a joke. Um But it's 10. Months of everybody going through this. This is the crescendo of the Bucks having their season. I think people are just out to where Cabin fever and boredom. And just like I don't give a damn anymore all set it at the same time, and people are like YOLO. You know, I don't necessarily agree with that. But I'm saying that's what happened Well, and I don't disagree with people's frustrations. I just don't understand. Um why again? It black or white masks or not like you can't do it at least somewhat responsibly, right? Yeah. Do all the cut Outsider in the seats of Raymond James. I have to wear best today, too. Mm hmm. Asking for a friend. You know, I might be in the stands areas. I think they're all vaccinated. They're all vaccinated. Okay? Did they get in the arm or the? Uh, No, they gotta during the cut out. There you go. Yeah. Glaser calling it he will. He's on hold. So maybe after that, you know, he's standing by s. So he's on the line right now. No, he's standing by for me to call him very good. Let's take a break right next. I have to go take a time out myself. And are you taking the Browns is Super Bowl, not taking the brown some yellow jackets anyway, But they're not going to solve all their college football team from Georgia Tech. Yeah, I think the Browns were ever gonna let me ask you. This put you on the spot here round a said that if the Bucks win that he will call into this show. He's probably not in any mood to call in today, though, right? No, I don't think run days. It E No, He's going to the game. But I don't think he's ah. In any mood to call anyone or talk to anybody After the night he had last night s celebrating the tough one. And to me, It's just like he's definitely deserving. No, no, no, no, I'm saying like he, Of course, he's disappointed, but but at the same time, his friend you know, and teammate got in. And so they went out and celebrated last night. It's hard to have two from the same Never gonna happen. Yeah, at the same time, So that's why I think Ron days definitely. And he gets it. He gets it. You know, he gets the way the game's played. You know that that you know sometime right, wrong or indifferent that the, uh, the sports writers, you know, give people a hierarchy or give people you know. Make them. Wait, Uh, which and, you know, sort of make him suffer. John Lynch. Eight years in the room as a finalist. That tells me so. Very good job. Would it make a lot of sense for Ronnie Barber? In his first year the way that works, I think you know whether it's justified or whether the numbers or whatever, but how do you justify John at water getting in last year? Uh, John, you know, being there eight years, Ron days first year. That's the problem with this the system. You know, it's based off of okay, you got to do your time and sweat it out in the finals for years before you get in, and it sucks, but he'll get in. I'll get eventually. Human Tiki the same time right now teaches not getting in. You know what it's We'll talk about this next year during both fantasy life as much as I had disdain for him as he deserves, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Sorry, but that's because he's the Giants all time Russia or he was the only thing that Giants had going for her a long time. I don't disagree. So anyway, but again, yeah, we'll get to that some other time in another place. But let's do this. Let's take the short break it then let's get Jay on. There's any guy could give us some great insight today be Jay Glazer Fox board, So we'll talk about that. Next. Both fantasy live one of 2.5 power by Bud Light..

Holy was that even more satisfying in some ways because you can't know that was not nervous. We had went up that of the two years before they even got the 31 9 31 10 or something like that. We're getting destroyed. Absolutely getting, And then we went there on October 20th. And it's same year got 22 10 s. Oh, yeah, but, boy, you had vindication and the world didn't roll yet to them. Mm. Yeah. We fall off down the road of them. There's no way the bucks gonna be. Yeah, and the way that you did, it was impressive. And the defense once again. I mean, it carried the 2002 bucks every single week. But in that game, you shut it down. What was What was the sound of silence like at the end of that game, with stunned Eagles fans walking out as they closed the vet? The first time they didn't boom leaving a playoff game because, you know, I I was foolish enough to think that we were gonna drag a stadium out in the middle of field and you know, and over the NFC that you know the George Halas trophy. I looked around and there was nothing but a bunch of cops around them, like Holy smokes takeover right to the locker room. And then they were doing it in the locker room, like man would stay in there. They would, like stepped in the locker room. I had to take off running. I mean, it was unbelievable. It was unbelievable. The one of the loudest Rowdiest places on earth. It just went like like all the air got sucked out of it. You suck the soul out of those Eagles fans, they expecting a party packed in Philly right now to this day. With with San Diego on, I'm going to send me Oh, times. They look at me crazy lady that I closed event and I opened the link with Shut out. Don't get mad at me but unused tickets to San Diego in Philadelphia. When you guys in the bag still pack your right or in sap is our guest here on CBS Sports Radio. You play with so much fire and so much enthusiasm and such a hunger. What was your driving motivation? Where did that thirst come from? Off the dirt road that I was raised on.

"All right, Take it Charity, CBS Sports radio CBS Sports Network, We would be taking a pretty much would be packing the bags at this point for a couple of days, basically a full week in the sun. You know, I'm sure we would have snuck in around the golf with Ron Day. I know I would have been deep sea fishing. Holden something um, man, so way will be doing the show, obviously, from our studios at home, but the guest? No. Santa has been pumping this out. We got Bruce Arians booked already. We've got sick one Barkley book We've got Jamal Adams both. We've got Jordan love the Packers book, So we'll bring everything that you're accustomed to. Even though taken. I will not be on site, which we've been every single year since. We launched the network, You know, life moves on next year will be back to normal. But this year it is what it is. Take, right? Yeah. No, I mean, it is it sucks, but Life goes on and the games go on. More importantly, as all of those guys they're gearing up for what's gonna be a really interesting week. And you mentioned before be TV. Two days a week are two times a day testing. Um I hope the guys do exactly whatever it takes to not get sick because the last thing I want to see is Super Bowl with save Mike Evans can't play because he's in covert protocols. Forget about Mike Evans. What about one of the quarterbacks? Yeah, that's that, So I'm just I mean, I'm assuming you know was quarterbacks. I would hate him. That would really suck. But you got gin or even a head coach, right? Like Andy Reid, you know all of a sudden he's not not available because tested positive for Cove. It may be the enemy will get us. Do you really gotta prove himself is the play caller and everything else? I mean, I hope that that doesn't Please pray for I'm with you. Obviously, we're all with you on that. So before we get to Baker, Um you know the one thing and this is fun and and this is juicy and this is not going to end until it does. I mean, this morning, I didn't see it but a bunch of people tweeted at me. I guess Schefter and Mort said that there's no chance that Watson winds up with the Jets of okay. I don't know where that comes. I maybe they're right. But every day you're gonna wake up and whether it's pro football talk, whether it's you know this show whether it's the other shit like there's going to be a story that connects him to a team or circumstance, and it's gonna be really interesting and and it's fun and it's great for a show. It is great for a business, but You know, weird way even though I could possibly benefit from him being traded. I almost don't want to see him get traded, even though I know he's going to because I don't want to see this new precedent. The NFL one thing for the NBA guys to pull the power play. That's fine. All right, but like James Harden, But when you start if you start having NFL quarterbacks every year or every other year, guys it entering their prime in their twenties that just got paid, demanding out. Take that's horrible for the league. No look, and we already saw this last season. Don't forget the Carson wins, even though he never confirmed or denied this. His camp or someone from his camp was leaking that he wanted out on. Or maybe he wanted Doug Peterson out so that he could get a fair shot at being the starting quarterback over Jalen hurts. So, yeah, I mean, it's already happening. It's a different kind of Um, of manipulation that that's happening with these athletes now. Is it their right? Of course it is. You see this all the time in all sports, And if the if the team and the in the organization and the way that they're running things is so bad That you can't imagine or don't want have zero desire just to spend you know the next five years or whatever, How long your contract is with them. It's your only recourse and the way that the Texans handled Dish or not showing Watson but the circumstances around to Shawn Watson. They were just they were gross. I don't blame him. No, I'm not. I'm not blaming the Carson Wentz side of the conversation that he has. No, he had no leg to stand on. Carson went to demand a trade. Not that he actually ever confirmed that he did. But we know that he did Hey, didn't have a leg to stand on because he was playing so terrible and in the interest of the team that Peterson had to make the move that he made to go to jail and hurts and, you know, having an open competition and quarterback and a quarterback controversy. All those things are not good for the organization. But At least two Shawn Watson had reason to say Get me out of here. Oh, I agree. No question. No, I don't. I don't begrudge him for doing that. I just hope it's not a trend where you know, it would really that mean again. It would give us great content, but I don't think it's good for the long term sustainability or or even I would even go so far to say maybe viability of the NFL, But maybe this is a one off for A couple of with once last year or now, Maybe it's too off. We'll see. All right, Baker Mayfield. So there is a Twitter site Twitter account named Dawg Pound daily. All right. And it's verified account, so it's legit. It's got you know, it's got 11,000 followers. So you know not not huge, but viable and it's got the blue check, so it's not like it's a bunch of nonsense. And they tweeted out. This was earlier. This was yesterday. The Browns need to think about the Shawn Watson. I guess they linked it to somebody else who said that? They gave an article Blah, blah, blah. And then Baker Mayfield. Jobs in Baker made few must've been scrolling. Maybe was cutting the grass at the stadium. Maybe was fixing the plumbing in the stadium, and he looked at his phone because we know he lives there. And he says he's sub tweets, Dawg. Pound bailing again, Dawg Pound barely 11,000 followers. Baker's Got 754,000. All right, and he reads quote tweets with the alright like, okay, sign right. And it says some of your Browns are funny, and he put quotes around Browns. Don't dream it Browns fans. I don't know really what he meant, but Or we impressed by his his grit or his tenacity or his whatever motivates him, or we saying it's a little petty Baker probably want to stay out of that..

"You know, it's interesting. You bring on that funny because it was tragic, But it's interesting. You bring up Len bias because Len bias when he passed away. I think it was It was emotional, but it was because it scared the hell out of you. Oh, yeah, It is a young man at the time. I was terrified. I like I like I will destroy. You have never, ever touching elicit drugs ever. That's why simply because it came out and said that I've had fun. I've had fun. I have never touched that. And I never will. Because of Len bias because the impressionable moment that it hit us and you know, in our lives, you know some people and maybe they were Too old already or or just didn't care or didn't care or they were too young. They didn't quite get it. But I was at that age where it was like. Oh, yeah, I've heard of that. Yeah, I was watching him. Wait, that that's what that does. Hell, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Where is Kobe? You know, it's like he lived the life of this man. And he was an example. It wasn't perfect. We know. Of course, nobody is. But nobody. No. Nobody is perfect. Nobody We know chapters in his life. That have come out, Um and and that's part of who he is. It's it's a won't say. It's a complicated legacy. But if you tell the entire story of Kobe, it's a little. It's complicated definitely of it that are unsavory. Yeah, that's just that's just the truth of the matter. The personal side is unsavory. It is what it is, and even even the professional side BT because You two make a ton of friends and the only basket about that to me that elevates him from a competitive point that that that's my point, like some people hated him that we're his teammates, but I think nobody disrespected him as a teammate. Did that. Never was that? Yeah, I don't respect co battles. I don't respect how Kobe goes about what he does when there's no chant. Not one person. I don't care if you hate him. You still respected him and that that's what that's what makes his own court, you know. This conversation so real and then after he was done, not even after he was done while he was, you know, at the ladder in, he was he was in the mentoring. Some of these young guys like all these young players look at him is is a mint as a mentor, which is crazy to think about, But it just tells you how far he went to reaching people. Um, even those that weren't necessarily of his era. You know, it's Zinos. You know he's not coming back and it's the world. Unfortunately, it's it's real life. But Was watching before and I actually had it on in the studio in my office. The jump did something really cool. Rachel Nichols show had one of the channels and they had a zoom with Looks like he was at least 12 to 16 NBA stars. At once. Like Ron Kyrie had you directed Durant. They were all talking about Kobe Who's a two hour special to Kobe dedicated to Kobe book that one segment was just a zoom. Call with luminaries of the game now about how Kobe impacted them. So I got actually go back and watch it when I could listen to what I saw. I saw her tease it during During one of our brakes, and I'm sure it's pretty pointing stuff. Just you know, it's just it is what it is, and it's been a horrendous year. 20 twenty's miserable was miserable 2020 ones on up to the best start, to be honest with you, but it was certainly more optimists and pessimists here and that was just a jarring Foreshadow of what was a brutal year and we lost a great one. We miss him. But you celebrate Kobe. That's all you could do, man, celebrate a great player and great competitors and and a great person and great dad. For sure. All right, take let's let's get the update Acts. Got that rendezvous, Barbara. How the heck did we secure that booking? Boy? "Your foot blast off. Couldn't couple kids get admitting they're bothering an underage child? What the hell, you know? Hey, you know that's the hardest work to their problems. The feds have shark fins. Is that what he said? That's kind of a weird lyrics. Yeah, well, you know, he's deep. Or was at least I read yesterday. So it's his birthday over the weekend Having birthday, Bob I read that he is going to be his big plan is going to be to release a triple disc album. It will be a full hip hop album of full rock album and a full country album, and he will do one last tour. This is the good part you like he'll do one last Big Stadium tour and then and then call it quits. I'd go see that. The only time I've ever seen him was the first warp toward that he did, where we end up chatting on his bus. And then the The concert that you and I saw the yellow man. I was so excited for that, and I feel like it was just like he just barely put the tip in. Barely put it was just like, Oh, hey, he came out and did a new song That was terrible. And, you know, I remember Ben Swig was there mocking me the whole time? It was really you know, but that being said Ben, let us sit next to him in rendezvous, Barber eyes, right? Very, very close. So I guess the mocking was well deserved. No, listen, we were up in the third level, the first and only time I've ever been in the third level of the Amalie. And we wanted to get down there so we could see kid Rock between periods. I think we were either going to leave or get down to the lower bullet was so I mean, thank you. Whoever gave us those tickets, but it was so high up there and so crunched. That we were just like this. This was it was brutal. So we're leaving. And then I've said Look, before we go. I'll just give Ben a shot. See if he's here. I said, Are you here? He's like, Yeah, I'm writing 1 29, and we just happen to be right outside 1 29. So we go down there. He's sitting next to Ron Day. Ronnie was really nice to us. Remember, Ron Day being so freaking nice, Like I remember being really, um I don't know if touched is the word but we met him came in, said hi to him, went down a little bit, watch the concert and then left and I just remember when we left, he said, my name when we left, and I'm just like this guy doesn't need to know who I am, and I just thought that he just came off. It's such a good, nice human being and congratulations to him, Bob. I think he's one step closer to getting canceled, right? Hopefully, if I saw from Iraq Often chase favorite. "You know, Tom struggled in the two games, They play one another time is thrown. Five interceptions, only two touchdown passes in the two games earlier this year. Mike Evans has struggled. Yes, and man to man coverage against Marsh on ladder more We already saw Chris got when there's a number one receiver. Five drops last week. There's no trying to iron out some of the wrinkles. I think the one place where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can have the advantage. I think you mentioned it. There's no doubt it. Antonio Brown is a difficult matchup for this secondary with the New Orleans Saints. He provides a quicker, smaller but more explosive. Player that Chris got when it Mike Evans were bigger receivers. They're rangy that got great pass catching radius, but they're not prone to the kind of separation that Antonio Brown is used to producing. So I think that could be a huge advantage for the bucks in this game. Yeah, I'll tell you what, Sally, I'm surprised. I understand why Vegas does it. I'm surprised that the Saints are favored right now. They're three point favorites with no fans. I know what's happened the past couple of games and between the two and that's really why that number is where it is. But the team that I've been watching that the bucks the last five or six weeks and I know the breeze has, you know Listen, breezes just about cooked here. Maybe he's got one lengthy run. I don't know if Tom Brady looks to me twice is good right now. But when you slap on the film and all the advanced numbers that you guys calculate if you didn't know anything about true breezes resume And this iconic status like when you just watch him play on film. What do you see from breeze? Uh, listen like the ball's gonna come out with You can diagnose what you're doing on defense. And he knows where to go with the ball right. He knows when to eliminate Number one and number two in the progression and immediately go to number three. I mean, it's it's like a machine. However. He does not force you to defend the entire field. He's not stretching the field. He's not take the shot. Alfie when he's not doing it with regularity. Over the last three seasons, he's had the lowest by far the lowest of any of the 32 quarterbacks. In terms of average depth of target, But he also has what the highest completion percentage because the ball's coming out quick and go in short s so so as a defense if you're top bulls guys You say this guy is not gonna challenges down the field? We needed start sitting on every On every breaking route. That ball's coming out in rhythm. You know, at the top of this drop, so you as a secondary, you got a break on those balls. You got a time that up. You're the passing lane and force him to have to make place throwing the ball down the field because right now in our Pff database You breathe. He was the 22nd rank. What about by far one of the lowest wow of his career. Tom Brady was second, telling Brady Don't Tom Brady is throwing the ball further down? The field still has a high completion percentage, right? He's playing at a phenomenal level this year, and I think it's going unnoticed because everybody wanted to say can't throw the ball deep, well, even against the Washington team. He had five completions of over 20 yards and more five. So this guy is Dylan and playing at at an all time level in his 21st season. Unbelievable. Yeah, and and he's a playoff game or we know that because we've we've seen it too many times over the years. Um, the probably the most compelling matchup will be number one offense and the National Football League. That's the Green Bay Packers. Where's the number one defense? And then as a football league, that's the Los Angeles Rams and Aaron Donald versus Aaron Rodgers. That's what will come down to jail and Ramsey versus Davante Adams. The advantage, I think goes to to Green Bay simply because of how I mean elite. It feels like Aaron Rodgers is right now and you know, I was two days ago. Or maybe maybe it's yesterday. Even I was looking at some jail and Ramsey's Pff grades. They think there's some. There's some orange and red in there a little bit like what's going on dealing Randy here, right It is. There is, I mean, you, never You never go into a game planning session and say, All right, we're picking on this guy. And it's Jalen Ramsey. Could we see that a little bit this weekend? You know why you see some of those, and that's a really great observation on your part icky. I think about you go down and look at their at their schedule. Look at the teams there play, but this is a guy that's taken Devante Parker's The guy that's taken DK madcap. Twice. A season right up. This is a guy that's taken Mike Evans when they beat Tampa Bay and that Monday night game. This is a guy that's taking DeAndre Hopkins when they played Arizona twice a year. Every single week. He's taken the number one guy. You and I both know it's hard to survive in this league taken on the true number one handed man, But this guy not only does he do that He reminds, you know, Ron Day was a guy, your brother? He he wasn't afraid to tackle Jalen Ramsey. That's why I love him because not only is your shut down guy, the guy ain't afraid to tackle right, so but there you're right. There's moments. What? Brandon Stadi is not to be underestimated. Your guys think about this. What if what if they did say Hey, KJ list? You're gonna take Devante everywhere, but we don't give you help. We're gonna roll coverage to him because we don't. We don't fear anybody else. So, so let's let's just make sure he desolation Davante Adams and beat us. I'll live with them having to go to Robert Canyon. I'll live with them having it and I could tell you right now. Brandon Staley what? He did the Russell Wilson last week. How do you get a pick six. You know why? Receiver screen? Yeah, we talked about that. I was crazy. You know how good you got to be it because that's a coach. Now that coach that's right players in the right position, and by the way, and by the way, Solomon. They didn't travel on that one. They were playing. You know, Street cover two and and Darius Williams broke on that as soon as he saw it. And Russell Russell didn't even look and it went the other way. Hey, solid giving you good. I'm sorry, Sal. Good police finished. They only allowed Russell complete 40% of his past. Brendan stately is Anomaly. I think they're gonna force the Pakis have to do something different than Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams in order to win this gang. Thankfully, they have Aaron Jones. They can turn around hand it off to through just saying, by the way, Listen, one of the reasons why I still get a lot of snips is the head coach. I don't know if he's gonna actually find a seat at the table this year, but eventually he will Sally, We got 30 seconds and way Gotta bounce. But I know this is a a nest emit good and you're not gonna lean on dad unnecessarily for this, But I'm really curious how you answer this, and I know that they played differently. They had different skill sets, but If you guys grated, I mean you were playing. But if you're if Pff graded back in the day, like Lawrence Taylor like that generate talking mid eighties late eighties early nineties. How would Lourdes tell the Grade versus Aaron Donald? Because it's It's my assertion that you could make the case that Donald does, Maura, maybe less blast place..
