"That sinker at, you know, a hundred with 20 inches of horizontal break. I mean, you keep adding pitches like that to that hours and he's going to be tough to hit. So he's unbelievable. I've never seen anything like it. All right, that recent stretch of home runs in 7 straight games. Given the physical issues you had earlier this year, how big was that for you, you think, is you guys wind down in 2022? It was big. I mean, obviously, the main goal is when I came back is just to finish strong. We got two more weeks left. I think 15, 15 more games. So, you know, I'm just trying to take some momentum in the all season finish finish healthy and obviously that's much easier because I think the time I lost and it was like 40, 41 games or something. Obviously not being out there, but being able to come back and put up some good numbers. It's it means a lot to me. It's just a good mental thing for me. Knowing that my back's good and obviously physically. So when I put it in the request to the angels to have you come on the podcast, it didn't really dawn on me or I'd never occurred to me. I'm like, you know what? I'm asking him to come on the podcast right in the middle of a streak and so when I got back answers, you know what? He wants to wait till he gets home. I thought to myself, well yeah, I think he doesn't want to talk about any of this while this is going on. Is that fair to say? I don't think that even came up in my mind, but I was talking about this to a lot of guys. You know, I think oh really? I've always known about not about the podcast or anything, but about streaks in general. For baseball. So obviously I was on a 7 game Homer streak and it was after three in a row, it was every day talking about it. And it's hard because I would be lying if I didn't tell you the last of that when I obviously it was a I hit 7 in a row in the last at bat. You know, I was definitely in the back of my mind. Like, hey, I got to go deep here. So kind of messed me up a little bit because the previous 7, I was just going out there and playing, but with everybody talking about it, it'd be hard for the history that the freak, you know, because it's always in the back of your mind instead of just going out there and playing. Yeah, and you got idiots like me asking you about it before and after every game. You do that. All right, Mike, hey, I appreciate your time. No problem. Anytime, enjoy that new lodge and a ranch up in Montana. I've never been out there, so it sounds peaceful out there. So it'll be a blast. Yeah, absolutely. Thank you, sir. Thank you. Hey everyone, I'm Ron darling. And I'm Jimmy Rollins. The official baseball rulebook is full of all sorts of strange rules. But the unwritten rule book is even weirder. We each come from different errors, and we each were taught to play the game in different ways.

"Interesting case because listen, this isn't about whether or not someone's rights to get vaccinated or not get vaccinated. This is about whether or not this guy is going to be able to play in October. And at the end of the day, the Blue Jays look like they're going to be making the playoffs. So if the Yankees go ahead and pick up Andrew Ben attende and they lose an Andrew Ben attende in October for roughly two high impact games that say, you know, let's say hypothetically they lost these games. Cashman is going to look so much worse than the royals looked last week when this whole announcement came out. It's not even be funny. I mean, he'll be fired before the game ends. Well, you know, this is not the George Steinbrenner era. So, you know, I do think they'll make that trade contingent upon a vaccination for been intended. I can't imagine they'll make that trade and then hope that he gets vaccinated. I don't see that happening. If he doesn't, does that just limit been attending to being a nationally trade target like to the San Diego Padres, who he has kind of been linked to and I know AJ probably loves him some Andrew Ben it's ending. Yeah, you know, you hear Milwaukee, there are certain teams that do need offensives hitting up in storm. He's a good defensive player. He's got some postseason pedigree. You know, he's going to be traded somewhere vaccinated or unvaccinated. He's that good at player. You know, looking throughout the league of horse obviously all eyes on Soto and I do have one more soda question. What are you hearing is going to be the actual asking questions. I mean, we've heard rumors of what they're asking price could be. We've heard rumors about potential packages that have been put together, but nothing really concrete. What are you kind of gathering or thinking this could be, or what are you hearing that this could be? You know, I think it's going to be four or 5 top prospects or good young players at the major league level. You know, and I don't begrudge them asking anything. You know, one sort of certainly answer quite a bit in this negotiations, and I don't blame them. He's that type of player. And certainly in trade with three years to go or two and a half, three playoff runs, they should ask for a ton. There aren't these type of players who are traded. I know Ron darling named one on our podcast with the post Lance then I can't remember who it is, but you know there are just so few outstanding players who are in their mid to early 20s. Do I came up with or baby Ruth and Miguel Cabrera and they were both close to 25. You know, he's not going to say he's Babe Ruth, but he's 23. You know, he's younger than those two. He's certainly nobody's Ruth, but you know, I think Miguel Cabrera is a fair comp who was a year and a half older than Soto and you know that trade did not work out for the Marlins. They got maybe who I love. He's Yankee broadcaster and, you know, does some good work. He broadcast thing and had a decent career and they got Andrew Miller wound up having a very good career elsewhere not with Miami and big top. You know, if they get that come for Juan Soto, that is a disaster. Sorry. You know, they're going to have to get better than that. And I do think they're going to someone's going to pay the piper pay four or 5 big time young players for this guy who is one of the best players in the game.

"Up, lay down on the ground, why the hell are you looking for a gun? Yeah, everybody's wondering where we're going with this. Trust me, folks, we're weaving a thread here. It all comes to pass. In some later things. So let's talk about the aftermath of this too. And I'll lay out for the folks here in a little bit, 'cause we both, you know, we've all done a research, but we have we can give you the additional crimes that were committed before this. But this is a multi state killing spree and just for let folks know there's a difference between mass murder, which it all takes place at one place at one time, a serial killer that is identified by a cooling off period two or more of the FBI says no two or more people were killed. "There was just this glorious winning energy about the city in nineteen eighty six. And that's what i wanted to capture. Yes so this sheen of the eighties that idea that beneath that was darkness but up on top. It was wall street. It was yuppie culture everything how those social problems the ones lurking underneath there. How did those manifest on the mets. Yes a great question. I mean that sort of money money money thing on top of the eighties but underneath there were all these problems going on there. Were drug problems that we didn't know about in especially in eighty six. You know dwight. Gooden became an active drug user. In nineteen eighty-six players were. Were doing things. They shouldn't be doing. There were raised problems on the team. In the city that were being swept under the rug and all these things were bubbling up underneath the surface and the question as the summer went along was is that going to derail what seems to be an inevitable championship. They were so good. They were so talented and so smart and brilliant about baseball which is excellent. One thing i didn't realize at the time it's just how smart they were about baseball as a fan. You just think well they show up. They played better than everybody. Of course they win but they really knew what they were doing on that nick. I'm curious because of course coming into this thing i. I've heard the tales of debauchery the tales of darkness but the intelligence. What open your eyes to that in your reporting and you're making of the film. They were so smart about hitting and pitching and defense in strategy. I mean lenny dykstra say what you will about. Baseball savant. Caught me off guard. I just didn't realize that. So much intelligence went into what they were doing and they were so smart also about the chemistry of the team and about their desire to win. You know when you're on a winning team and you're on a team where winning is focus that it's different from other teams bobbio. He talked about being on the red sox in eighty three eighty four eighty five. He didn't experience that until he got to the matinee. Eighty six and it was like these guys. It's all about winning if you go three for four and we lose in. You're happy about it. Someone's going to punch you in the face so the punching of faces the character that you interview. I mean how many characters. How many people did you interview for this film. Because i was staggered in watching this just how many faces popped up with accents that i honestly just wanted. Even more of we did four interviews in all probably about fourteen members of the nineteen eighty six minutes and then thirty assorted writers managers commentators joe mcilvaine executives broadcasters and then you know celebrities people who meant something in new york at that time cindy lauper oliver stone mike. Tyson indie lobstermen. I gotta say i guess. I should've known that she was from queens and sounded like queens. But i was pretty away by her appearance this yes. She had a really wonderful queens accent and that was what we really wanted to do. You know if it's not being told by the actual participants players told by new yorkers told by people who lived and were there chuck e. who was cutting his first album that summer. He was there and obsessed with the maximum. Eighty six eighty four. Five like he was he saw the whole thing. Come together as a true mets fan and so it made perfect sense to have people like him. John mcenroe tell the story. it was such a thrill into. We've those guys in george martin's mets fan. Waiting game of thrones fans. Nick are going to watch this themselves. Wait a minute. This dude can sit for. Nick davis and a four part documentary but not give us the next book well. He's very busy but he took time out of his busy schedule to talk as he said. Unfortunately we weren't able to work this lying in. He said for my sins. I am a mets fan. Which i think is a great. These guys really bleed. You know you when you know when you're a fan of particular team they get into your blood and so if someone wants to talk about them even if it's thirty five years later you're happy to do so yes slug the yankees got into my blood. So i came to this with a certain condescension. Nick anybody who works on this show understands that. But i was one over and again. I'm one over by complicated characters. In this because lenny dykstra is not a person that i feel comfortable liking but listening to him. Talk to you is baseball's failure failure. Secede get ahead towards the high five or you making out carrying you make it out and then remember the i mean out. I'm like yeah. I get it i. There's a charisma in his madness. That's what i hope. People take from the film and it. It's not obviously just for permits fans or even just baseball fans it's about these characters these personalities and that's part of what made the team so amazing and memorable is they were larger than life personalities. Who still have so much charisma. Lenny and keys and darryl dock and obviously gary carter who we weren't able to interview sadly ray night mukhi all ron darling. All these guys had so much personality so much character that the story is about. Then it's a story about these people who came together for a common goal and one great moment were able to fulfil what they thought was their destiny so if the yankees neck were there. The stuff suits their old money either monument park. I get all of that. What were the mets. In contrast for those uninitiated into the culture of new york your why did they appeal the think to so many people in the city at that particular time well in the history of the city is as a nationally town and the dodgers and giants leave town in fifty-seven forming an enormous void in the city's har- so the mets inherited all those fans. And then you know. We're terrible but bumbling lovable and kind of the the team of the people and when they went in sixty nine just cements it this miracle. So they're they're of the people and they have this sort of magic now baked into the dna so that when they rise up and are good again in the eighties. The city embraced them and it became again a nationally town. I don't want to get on a soapbox your but the fact that is from sixty four on it was mostly town for twenty one out of twenty nine years out through the yankees other than the period when the yankees are winning in the late seventies. It really was amidst town. The idea that many people think of today as well. There's a little brother the it's a yankee town. That really didn't take home. Until the mid nineties the franchise fell into real disrepair and the ownership and the yankees starting winning the timing began. I'm not speaking with the filmmaker announced meetings mets fan. Nick i appreciate you standing atop the soapbox and you said you would not climb on. I do appreciate that continue. But i think a lot of mets means feel like with new ownership is things are going to be restored to their rightful place. If not this year next year and all right coming up. I wanna dive deep into the year. Eighteen eighty six. It is our favorite time of year as we're back traveling. The road of college football and goodyear knows the passion and the excitement. It takes to drive forward whether your team is home or away. The games traditions are still the same. Through every first down touchdown or fourth quarter comeback by moving. Anything is possible years here to drive you forward on the road.

"Come on his first at bat in ST Louis, and he knocks it out. You know, this is that's why we love baseball. You know, like that for the moment. Yeah, I'll tell you another one. I like this week. This Mike Nolan of the Nationals. Did you see this? All right. So will Smith hit Soto? There's something going on between these two teams. You know, they don't like each other. So Smith drill. Soto. Alright the next game first inning No. One's pitched a third of an inning. And he throws on behind Freeman and then the next one. He hits him. And, of course, the umpires throw him out. They feel David Martinez out. I loved it. This is what this is Baseball. This is okay. Let them police themselves. Yeah, but when the blood starts boiling, it's just the edge of your seat kind of thing. Um, he definitely crossed line. Any time. You're expecting somebody to get nailed into retaliatory manner and the pitches behind him, I almost want to toss the guy right there because you know your your normal instinct when the ball's coming out is the sort of back off. And you could back off right into your death. If it with a pitch. It's behind you. You know that. That's really, really alarming, and he got out of it. He got out of the way that's so bad that he gets nailed again. But but, yeah, I mean, it's that's that's the like Ron Darling was talking about one of the Mets Yankees telecasts and talking about young pictures. You know, this is what you have to do with this. If this is If it comes down to they nailed one of your guys and you didn't like how it came down. You've got to get out there and they'll one of their guys, preferably as they went after Freeman. They went after their best hitter, and that's that's that's It's not polite, Polite game. It's bad, so way. Baseball was played, and it's okay. Yeah, okay. It's okay. Um, yes. So I like that. Hey, How about wonder Franco? Now he got hurt last night hamstring, but he didn't get on base And I think it's 39 straight games. Frank Robinson's got the record of 43. He went past Mantle. For players under 21 or so, But, um, I'll have Marc Topkin on today from the Tampa Bay Time to talk about Wanda Franco proves this guy for two years. He was a number one prospect in baseball. They never brought him up. Now they brought him up and he looks like a big league star. Now he may be banged up a little bit. But what? What a beginning for this guy just got such a great way about him. Reminds me a little bit of Soto and to tease is not quite as flamboyant, but he just looks like he knows that he kind of owns things out there and, you know, they talked about how he did. He does everything well, and it's absolutely right that you started hitting for power. Now. I mean, reaching base 39 straight games as a rookie is mind blowing. Because they're not really figuring him out. If anything, he's gaining momentum and best best rookie in either league, his test absolutely living up to it. I think you know for a while they had Willie Adama's. It's short, and he's really good as we've seen how good he is with Milwaukee, and they they probably didn't put the right time table on Franco. But now the Domus is in Milwaukee in Franco's there and they're going to. They're going to win that division and he's going to be in the postseason. I just hope he, uh they have, you know a chance to just let him let him Feel that thing. And be completely right for when the postseason does start. Yeah, there's no pressure because they're going to have the they're going to win the East. They are probably have the best record. But yeah, this is this is going to be interesting to see what happens with him. What a player. What a player and look the Rays lead the league in and writing. This is the vaunted American League with a D. H. They lead the league in runs scored. The Rays. Yeah, they have a crazy run differential, you know, plus 170 something, Um and you know you There's so much focus on Well, these guys they're throwing, you know, 19 pitchers in the game and nobody has more than 10 wins or whatever. Meanwhile, you know, Franco Arozarena and Nelson Cruz. Yes, and and a bunch of other guys, These guys really right to Zunino 29 home runs and he's heading to 10. Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, but they're just really danger. There's so much more dangerous than the team that came out here and beat the A's in the wild card game a couple years ago. There's you know the thing that they're they're like, nine games up now on the ground that that's some good teams so Definitely. Uh yeah, they got a guy low low is 33 home runs, you know, and whoever heard so I'm looking forward to Marc Topkin to talk about the radio. He's great. He's totally knows that team that will be fun. So Bruce 9 11, You know just some basic thoughts on 9 11 and where baseball fit in. During that week, and the amazing comeback the Piazza home run Oh, yeah, that that was just so so well done. You know, everyone. Everyone's watching that game. You know, President Bush is greatest moment The greatest pitch ever thrown from my my money. Put it right, right down the middle and and so much emotion. It was very, very tastefully done. And And you know, as great as it was, you know, the aftermath is, you know words. We're not going to get over this, You know, Like, really, ever since, especially the people who are so closely attached to it. I remember going back to New York. Um, once they resume play, you know, a couple weeks after I was there, and just, you know, went down to the to the site and was walking around and you know people in maths, and there's there's dust on the windshields, which is not really dust. It's you know, bodies. Mhm and, uh, you just this is stunning experience. Um, you know, it's just there's a movie out now. I think Michael Keaton and Stanley Tucci that deals with that and I don't know if I want to watch it or not. I mean, I was dwelling on the films that came out afterwards. French French company put out some astounding footage of the But the towers in going down at the time. Uh, you know that films and documentaries about the firemen. It's just It's so interesting, but it's so grim. I don't know if I want to really Revisited, you know right now, but on the day it's definitely a time to remember..

Because i know where you're going to play next and he's he's right about this defense they can't talk to me. You know The base running. They can't talk to him either. Offensively criticize me. Say whatever you want. Because you're right they all right. Let's be fair. The defense and the base running is now but they pay him for. Isn't it because he plays one of the most position important positions on the field. And it's like he's been he's terrible. Well i listen to defense and the base. Running is a factor. I mean if he were few hitter he wouldn't have gotten the contract that he did. But that's the point of people want to focus on especially when the team is struggling overall and the offense has struggled as much as does uh so we'll see what he can do. Once he comes back which is going to be sometime this week. Yankees and twins postponed yesterday due to anri. They'll make it up on september. Thirteenth yanks are rolling nine. "The giants stunned the industry when they signed barry bonds to a six year forty three point seven five million dollar contract at the nine hundred ninety two winter meetings in louisville kentucky and the deal. Shattered cal ripken deal for the largest guaranteed baseball deal in history with thirteen point. Two five million dollars though bonds proved to be a bargain at that price. San francisco could have landed a much earlier at a fraction of that. Cost the early thousand eighty s were part of much diff- much different era than today if the player dared negotiate teams often took it as a sign. He wasn't committed to playing pro ball. Hiring an agent cues was considered hearsay. And ron darling dropped from the presumed number. One overall pick in nineteen eighty-one all the way down to number nine after doing so in eighteen eighty two to the giants bonds in the middle of the second round with the thirty ninth overall. Pick and it had the makings of a feel-good story as his father. Bobby it played in two all star games and three gold gloves for san francisco in the early seventies except berry wouldn't agree that turns depending on. Who's telling the side of the story. The club offered sixty thousand dollars in bonds. Wanted sixty six thousand dollars or seventy thousand dollars versus seventy five thousand dollars either way that you couldn't narrow that gap so he attended arizona state rather than turning bro and it's selected him six overall in the nineteen eighty-five draft brought him to pittsburgh less than a year later and he enjoyed his stellar play for seven seasons before he left the bay area the before he left for the bay area so the and there are a lot of guys that are like this for example max scherzer was drafted by the cardinals in the forty third round in two thousand and three. And we'll kind of talk about a lot of these are these are kinda. How will end the the rest of this segment. Before we get into the stats. So shears was drafted in the forty third round. Three in saint louis took a flyer on a local high school product who is considered unpolished and unseasonable but he's still flashed in ninety four mile. An hour fastball on occasion and shears or went to mississippi where he blossomed into the eleventh overall pick when he was signed by the diamondbacks in two thousand and six charlie blackmon could have been drafted by the marlins in two thousand and four in the twenty eighth round or the red sox in two thousand five in the twentieth round and consecutive years the defending world series champions drafted blackman and as the beard as a beardless left-handed pitcher. The initial draft was out of high school and then the ladder was after he attended young harris junior college. His first season after transferring georgia tech and famously bluffed his way into playing outfield playing time during that summer into that during summer ball in two thousand seven and provided a so talented at his new position that the rockies took him in the second round of that following june. And i've actually seen that. Because i've worked for some of the teams advert for some of the team the past few seasons. And i've seen guys like that. Just absolute talents. That are supposed to be pitchers. Or whatever whether it's a position player pitching or or vice versa. I've seen it both ways. I've seen it go both ways where a guy comes to us one year and he is an outfielder. I think so this one guy. He was an outfielder and was a like a inning reliever like an innings ear when it was when his team was getting destroyed and so we never really pitched. He didn't really pitch much for us that first year. All of a sudden he comes back that second year and he is only and pitching from now on he comes back the following year and she is only pitching he's not the aging or the other and another guy i saw. He was a pitcher. That was a that. Got a few at-bats and then the team that i was working for was struggling hitting the ball so they put him in the lineup as d. h. And then from that they were like well. We kind of need him in the lineup. but we can't put them at d. h. Right now so the ended up going out. I think to left field and then he ended up playing more left field that season for his college than he did or he ended up pitching for his college because of his bat which was really interesting. You actually see that a lot. I think a lot in in college just because a lot of those guys are still so talented and so that you can just kind of plug and play em wherever they don't really they're not really specialized yet one area buster posey could've been drafted by the angels in two thousand and five actually taken. In the fiftieth round. Posey started as a pitcher on the united states national teams and drew a comparison to georgia. Georgia prep version of greg maddux. Showing a top three round salad. He was determined to attend florida state however so he lasted until the six to last. Pick the one hundred and four one thousand four hundred ninety six overall pick in that in around that no longer exists and posey began catching as a sophomore with the seminals and went number five overall to the giants in two thousand eight. Paul goldschmidt could have been a dodger. Actually he was drafted in the forty ninth round and kyle dream at. Who is doug drawback sun and fun story about kyle. Dray back actually which is really interesting. And it's really. I mean cowdrey back. Obviously not his father son but he did have a deal in place with his shoe. Deal was with nike and the high school..

"Players to sixty four players but when you get to sixty four players then it's the ncaa basketball tournament then. It doesn't matter what your total number is. that doesn't matter at all. You have to win more holes than the other person. You're playing that chain. You explain this. Michael that changes the level of competition. The you have to be four different kind of best play doesn't give you four full-quarter's to try and get back. So there's there's no real way to get back and what's interesting for her. She's probably only played this coursing info times. Obviously at the two the two rounds through the strokeplay. But now you're trying to figure out okay. Where am i going to try and be a little bit more aggressive. A little bit more sort of particularly if i'm coming in as the one of the higher seed. Yeah because we have. I i would say hard. It's an it's an unassuming hard opening stretch. And then you can sort of ride that if you get out to that early lead and some of the holes you might not get to some of those score. Bill would say round changing holes. That are so important for say the two of us. If we're playing a club match with jimmy crowley sixteen seventeen eighteen. You might not get those you always. Can we get to the other side of the tracks and if you can get out to that it'll lead. You could close it out before so it's just a different deal. If she plays a girl who you know in the first five holes throws in three bombs. You don't know what that psychologically does too hard. It's it changes. everything might be. You know you might be standing on the eighteenth t. One yeah. I mean it's just it's just a weird thing it's not every stroke doesn't count you can pick up. I mean you can. You can just pick off some point. And it's it's really a different way of playing michael which is harder you've played both which is harder i in terms of match players strokeplay. Yeah i think if for many of these players in this tournament stroke plays what they do every single week. They're playing those competitions. They know exactly how to control their game. And so it's it's for some of them out of their out of their thinking to be more aggressive and more assertive if they're trying to get into a match minds mindset. I always enjoyed naturally because it gave you gave you a little bit of that bumper. If you had that whole the ad to move on from and you can try and shrink around into say a mini three hole round can i. Can i pick one hole up here before we get to the turn but it comes down to mindset. Can describe how you played yesterday. Because i thought you played very well. Sure michael played very well. We started. I am not going to go into specific details inside. Shot by shot but we started on the back. Nine and michael was three under at the end of the back. Nine and then had a hiccup or to the hiccups on rents who throws the ball year. So one of the great Cape League stories is in 1985 or so Frank Thomas was on the same team is J. T. Snow and JT still had to play the outfield because there was another first baseman was marked to share a or something. So there was like, three first baseman who all ended up having these braids, great careers and snow was forced to the outfield. Wow, Cape League Man Is this. What was that? Where Frank? The major league level when you have a weapon in your hand like ninety four mile an hour fastball. I do dangerous game to play now. I know it is. But i mean all right so if you can't have enough control with that pitch where you're hitting guys in the shrimps in putting their lives on the line i mean there's gotta be some sort of. I know that you know somebody will say well. We can't control it. Okay i mean how many these guys control a lot of what they do. You know if it ends up happening where it slips out of your hand or it's occasional or whatever and if maybe maybe guys will think a little bit differently changed their approach if there's some sort of consequence of hitting the guy in the head or hitting the guy in the face and maybe he can save one or two of these. I don't know it's just like this. Whole kevin spitting up blood pouring from his batters bonds awful. And you hear ron darling. Talking about how he believes. It's for the first time since the start of the pandemic, but the rate of vaccinations is down by about 35% from its peak, President Biden said yesterday. Many Americans may feel like the pandemic is over. But there are still too many people who have not been vaccinated. We're not done fighting this fire US. We still have tens of millions left to vaccinate. We are making significant progress. In fact, When tomorrow's vaccination numbers come out, they'll show that 60%. 60% of Americans have received at least one shot. Given that the vaccination is convenient and free. It'll be a tragedy if a needless one to see covert cases among those who do not get vaccinated, go up. And he said different people will handle their vaccination status differently. Let's all be kind and respectful. One another. As we come out of this pandemic, respect those who want to continue to wear a mask, even if they've been vaccinated above all. Pilar immediately dropping to his knees dripping with blood obviously left the game getting immediate medical care. "I think to me it's not it just it validates anybody like like Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson or any of these guys to understand that look, you are your own entity. In many regards, you could go somewhere else and paid her own way. That was a big concern of big question when it came to Tom leaving New England You're really going to do this. You could really hurt your legacy by leaving And he showed that not only can you can you keep from hurting it, but you can actually bolster it even more. So I do think it empowers other quarterbacks to say leaving a place that I am most comfortable is not necessarily the end of the world. Let's talk about one of those quarterbacks into Shawn Watson, Jeff So, Jamie Roots the president of the Houston Texans decides to resign, He steps down. There's so much talk from a lot of sources. I've been hearing about Jack Easterby in his influence over the organization and his relationship with Cal McNair McNair. Excuse me, Kiki, you'd excuse explain to everybody who Jack Easterby is and how he continues to rise through the ranks. I could try and I say that because it is work. There are a lot of things that we question about Jackie's for being in terms of how this organization has unfolded with him. Rising in power. His rise in power of whether for the good or for the bad is impressive. Like this is a guy who came, who worked with Davos, Sweeney and Clemson as basically sort of this this Personnel Development Player development kind of guy. He was a pastor in New England went down to Houston, where he worked with Bill O'Brien and saw brought O'Brien's exit and continued to rise in power. It is very rare to essentially answer your question here for someone to rise in ranks in the NFL through the path that Easterby has taken. There's player development guys around the league that envisioned dreams of becoming an executive, perhaps the president of a team. It doesn't really happen, and with Jackie's to be it has. Unfortunately I think a lot of people would love to see this and say, Wow, what a great rise in power for a guy who really worked his way up. That part of the story, unfortunately, has not yet unfolded. We've been discussing allowed the quarterbacks in air Sea ease today on our QB or not to be. Is this potential trade with the Miami Dolphins? Is that something that's actually feasible between them in the Houston Texans? So it's an interesting one because I continue to. It's not like good reporting to necessarily say Well, he didn't say no, so that means it could still happen. But when it comes into the John Watson in the Miami Dolphins Sort of where I'm sitting right now. Like I hate to do it this way. But until they say no, it's not happening. I'm going to continue to think it could potentially happen. They have the ammunition they have the potential incentive. They have the third overall pick. They have another first round pick. They have to a tongue of my low if that turns out to be leverage for them in a trade s O, so the ammunition exists. You know, I don't think anybody questions the fact that to Shawn Watson is an upgrade from just about everybody in the league. No doubt he being upgraded this point from two of the questions Do you want to take on the contract? And do you want to give up the assets? That to me is the question of the off season for the Miami Dolphins. Jeff not John. Okay, I gotta correct now. John, darling. Yeah, Thank you Know whatever. I'm thinking of the old picture, man. Leave me alone. But when you look at that Prescott situation in Dallas what happens once the Cowboys figure out with the salary cap is going to be because it hasn't been announced yet. That will that deal get done this offseason. I mean, you know, you can be crazy that like The answer should just be us and we have done this dance for two years now, right where we talk about this deal, and how the Cowboys keeps saying, And I think I don't don't blame us on this one, man I blame. The fact that the Cowboys keep Jerry Jones keeps marching out there. Stephen Jones keeps marching out there and saying things like he's our guy we're going to sign into account. Well, do it like at some point you can't keep saying he's our guy if you also then stuff At the request that he's making. I understand it takes two to tango, but I mean, every year we continue to hear He's our guy. We're going to sign into a contract and it doesn't get done. Should get done. Absolutely. Well, I believe it until it does. No, sir Maki, where you're talking about Ron, darling. Yeah. Okay. That was John. Darling. Ron. Darling. What a baseball. That was. Maybe I was thinking of that. Who knows? But I know one. Another thing I was thinking of is Jeff Darling team was talking and I was telling you been on the side bar. Jimmy P. Better watch out for me because I'm trying to get their president job at ESPN. You know what I'm saying? I'm trying to climb the ranks Very slow. Like Jack Easterby. Don't forget about me. I won't forget about you at all. You know, Assuming you're good. Don't worry. I'll be in President. No time soon. I'll be your failed head coach. All the guys behind her any regret later, I will be that guy for YouTube. And let's just try to rescue this by saying, Mr Petar. Oh, I'm trying.
