"Terrible disease and it's definitely needed for the doctors in the research and medications and so put that needed but there's other things you can do that you can feel and see With my wife and my family. I lost an older brother to hiv many years ago. And we wanted to do something so we got involved with a camp that was for children with hiv. Eventually we started restarted by funding. And then i spent time there with my wife and we didn't like the way it was running. We said let's just chain. Let's do this. I saw so we designed our own camp. Set it up and will take one hundred kids every year for a week. Gave him the time of their lives. And i'm doing a was doing it for eighteen years every summer we would spend a week and there was a week planning before and a week afterwards. Ami we're exhausted. I'm i wasn't at the point. Be running around the summer camp. All 'cause we were feeding them entertainment. We brought in entertainment. Like you've never seen. Because i care what a cost i just wanted to give. These kids fought my wife would run it. Keep it organizers so the activities and what's going on to we miss it we use it. You probably know. Ron burton the robert and training. Yeah that's how we we got involved with ron. We rented his place which helped him. 'cause i rented for week after his camp so it helped him and they loved it and steve burton came down. And paul byrne was there all the time the and robert junior. They're all there because i brought in professional. Magicians i brought in rock bands. I mean probably never. These kids have another. They have every kid would cry. The so many of these kids were in shelters. Were in bad situations. Were in foster care. And that lives and this one week was important to them today to this day. I'm still in touch. I've been run the camp out for three or four years. I think it's been the and the good reason why is because kids on born with hiv anymore man. Did they have the medications to stop it so we were having trouble finding kids as we took them from six to twelve years old and so we were having trouble finding percents. It's a good reason to stop. Plus my wife and i didn't hold when my sons were there. Wise with wise came down. My oldest son got engaged at camp with fireworks. While it's meant a lot to our family is a wonderful thing to do so you know as far as giving doing stuff there's other things you can do besides just writing checkout that's so true i build one of those kids out of jail. They call me because all my cell number. And he says i'm in trouble blah blah blah blah blah. I went down and bail them out of jail. So you know this other. We stay in touch with these kids and have helped some of the kids that were legal. We help them get a legal documents to become citizens. It's been great. It's been very rewarding. Very very lucky. Because i have so much i can do and i can do a lot of things. It's just incredible. I think you just answered one of my questions is how did you become such an iconic figure in the local community. I mean just the work you do is just so amazing. You were born locally correct. Yes newt newton. Yup i had family in newton to just stop off a little field road up by newton north. That's where i was. I went to school bigalow. Newton north is so. What was the early childhood of elliott. Like i'll tell you. We lived in a nice neighborhood at a nice middle class neighborhood. My grandfather on my mother's side had some money at that time. That was the type keep families close together. My father worked in a little furniture store. There was started by my grandfather and it wasn't very successful as a tiny little store. There was maybe five people worked in the whole whole company. That's what it was. My grandfather bought a house for my mother and father and i was one years old when we moved into this house and it was nice middle class neighborhood. My father couldn't afford the taxes said. Here's the house holds poor because he couldn't afford anything but we were unable to an awful lot of wealthy people around us. Sony was a mixed bag and it was. It was kind of strange. It really was because my mother which shop closing all the findings basements and whatever she could get close for us when the rest of the neighborhood was living off of fizzy stores. Right there going to sacks actually exactly you know and that's what that's the way. I grew up but i think you know because of my father. My grandfather was an amazing man. He came here from russia he escaped. He had seven sisters. He was the oldest his younger sister. He carried on his shoulders to escape the carried through the subarian desert and from it. His hands got frostbite. He lost all his fingernails. Wow and he's the one that started jordan's originally and he couldn't read or write really and but he was the most amazing man and i worked with him side by side with my father and my grandfather with the company. Because i was just a little kid. I used to have me come in and dust and i was to the dust They pay me ten cents an hour. They always told me it was too much you with a little picture was and i remember once. I broke a vase because i was thinking. I knocked the lava. Oh my god you know what. That's what i grew up with. I didn't grow up with. I grew up with really nice down-to-earth parents. And i think that's where that comes from is giving and giving back and and because my father was that way and and my mother was that way and on one side of my family was that way the other side different is more like right out of jack. You big deal so that was very interesting. But i learned a lot from that and i think people that give a giving because you know there was in brennan them if they get that from an early age at least i did and i think i didn't know it but but you do and how it's important to give back and to realize especially when i basically came from very little i mean when i started in the business we had one truck and my father had me working on the truck. I was delivering furniture. Houses i remember you know. I mean we weren't doing three hundred thousand dollars a year in the whole company. Might father couldn't pay the payroll. And i used to listen to and talk about it and everything else and then when i finally went into it in i realize we grew it. Returned it into a success. We never thought we could but we did. I think i appreciate from where all that came from your important. There's a lot of people that don't it's not about money. It's it's about being proud of yourself and feeling good inside. I i look at also people that you give everybody's giving for themselves. His it makes them feel good. Yes you wanna give the cancer. Yes you wanna do all these truly. I'm doing it. Because i wanna feel good. I can afford it. I wanna do it. It makes me feel good and it makes a difference your friends but you feel like you've accomplished something by being able to do it. Yup and with people wwl know with the missing. They don't know the to into what they have and they only give when they have to the only give to be show to show people. I gave this and that i have a very good friend who you will no. I'm not gonna mention his name. He's extremely wealthy and he came from nothing the same thing he started in the real estate business by buying one two family house and he lived in one and then he. He rented next door today. He is built up a mega fortune from that. One study came from nothing. He is the most giving person that i know and he wants nobody to know i can call him tomorrow and tell them. I've got a family that this that and everything else will say what he mentioned. You need no problem here right now to check. He doesn't all.

"Has ever been my opinion Now here's your host, Chris Randwick. Oh, happy Sunday, too. Yeah. I'll tell you what? I don't know. If you want a saw that abomination in boxing last night, we'll get to that in just a second. Nick Roddy with us this evening, telling me he's Ah, nice and fresh this evening coming off a trip to the movies last night. Yeah, 2019. Oh, my goodness. TBT, Uh, that was a weird experience. I take it or not so much. No, it kind of felt pretty normal. All right. Don't know. It's like one of those things that you don't really think about because you haven't been the movies enough. Yeah, year, but I didn't really feel any different. All right. You got your mike and ice and your popcorn in the way you went songs moving, little slushy. Good. Very good. Um s Oh, look, boxing, boxing has become as much smaller thing over the years. Obviously, with the ascension of the UFC and everything that has become Boxing taking a back seat. And so it's funny when they make a big deal out of boxing match with no boxers in it. And it's been that way for a while. And now you're getting into a situation here where you've got this. All right. Who is this guy? He's a youtuber. He's a like a video blogger Dude on YouTube. Jake Paul. Okay, Well, apparently, he's considers himself a boxer now, hey, fought in his third match last night or his matches his third this third boxing match against a once now retired and now current wrestling coach, But this former you have seen by fighter Ben Aspirin. On Di Knox is due down in one round this Jake Paul. So now he's three and on his quarter unquote boxing career and Nick who was the other dude, He beat pretty quick. Nate Robinson Robinson. Yeah, yeah, So it's like, What is this? What do you expect people to pay for a watch? I'm just confused is that are we is this suppose there's their billing this as a real boxing match. You know Muhammed Ali, Joe Louis, Jake Paul, Jake Paul. Okay? Uh, it's just incredible for apparently, this dude's gonna make so, um Try to find exactly the number so he was expected to make 690 K from this fight. Against, uh Nate Robinson, who he beat pretty quickly. What was it in the second round? I think he's looking around. Um He made $10 million in that fight, like who is Who? Dad? I I don't know who's paying to see that. Was YouTube fans. You've got to be a real degenerates. Probably not. It's I'm not sure it's as much all old time boxing fans. It's the YouTube crowd. That's who is paying to watch this. So it's a complete novelty that like it's not real boxing. No, Can we stop calling it boxing? I think we should their boxing. Um, by the way. Pete Davidson out of SNL last night was unlike the pre call And hey was talking about He was like, man, this boxing that shows me just how low boxing has come. It was like a joke. He was trying to find me. But it was true. I laughed. And I'm like, Oh, my God. He's right. Yeah, Boxing is not what it used to be. By the way. We had a great discussion yesterday with our good friend Scott Bischoff about the NFL draft coming up here in just a couple weeks. Um, I I am of the believe nick that at this point There is just no way the lines are drafting a quarterback at number seven, even if they trade that I'm pretty confident in saying that they're not going to pick a quarterback here in the first round. Would tend to agree, but I think Scott mentions last night. How many times are you at the top of the draft where you can take a quarterback like Justin Fields? Or Trey Lance? Or Mack Jones. You're probably not gonna be there. Lot. No, you're not going to be there a lot. You know you were there last year where you could have taken two up or Justin and Brad is that the same thing last year? Only time's gonna be at the top of the draft. Well, there there again. So are you gonna pass on a quarterback again? Will in the interim Maura of to Scott's point. It's the fact that you're not gonna give up more, you know, in picks or whatever trading players to then move up in the draft to draft a quarterback. So as you stayed here at seven. You're probably gonna have shot at somebody. You probably more than likely trade, Lance. So is that the guy you want to go after? I just I don't think they're going to and I My, my guess is that they're gonna They're gonna try to trade back. Maybe take you know somebody like Michael Parsons or or in a river or receiver or receiver. But if Penny schools there, too, I think that's pretty much a done deal. Uh, tough couple of days here for Tigers. There are no Oakland there. Ah, oh, in three so far, I know you've got some numbers, along with some other stuff. Nicholas Tigers, looking to avoid the sweep by the Athletics. They were shut out on Friday and Saturday. Mathew Boyd got to start today. He's still in the game. "The next few years up notre dame and after you played at northwestern you were drafted in the nfl in the seventh round by the eagles. Did you start thinking or did you even start thinking about wanting to go to the next level with your football game. No i didn't have any interests. It was really funny because The pro scouts coming out taking a look at us. And i told the the eagle scouts. That Yeah i didn't have any interest in playing pro football because you guys did on sunday. What you guys play on sunday at that time you know. The american football league was a starting and of course the canadian football. They'd been around for awhile but very good friend of mine. Guy named ron burton. Who was a year ahead of me. Pretty close call a heisman trophy almost one that and all american one going to have the boston patriots. New england now because The same reason eagles drafted him number one and he wouldn't go to the nfl because they played on sunday. We we had a group of guys who had a real strong sense of religion or religion and moral allegations and that north western iran. Having to be one of those people anyway so you wind up going to the american football league because in those days they played on saturday and sometime friday. They're trying to find any date. They can kick play a game but they weren't planning on sunday so wrong with there and you have an award there with the new england patriots ron burton citizens order something not outstanding person so The eagles came back and said if we had some kind of a chapel service on sunday. Would you play i think. Yeah that'd be great. So when i went there i became one of the chapel leaders for the club maxi bonds but georgia tech and i organized Chapel services on sunday. Dave is called a local of Minister wherever we were and set up Session so pretty had one o'clock kick-off nine o'clock Service and then See pre game me on that clock service and stadium And so that caught on today. I'm pretty sure it's still exists. Every kim league has some kind of a chapel service on game day. Whether it's sunday. Monday thursday saturday or any other time and that all started from that little group. Now there are other teams doing similar thing raid bear similar thing with The colts and Glass who played for the cleveland browns whose wind up being an ordain minister. Irv thing there let me interrupt and ask you a question about the national football league during that particular time described the game. How was played. He had to be tough. I mean that. That's louis at yet it'd be hard nose guy and Anything when they get. It's great that rules are in now to help protect people but if chop blocks for in where he could you know black guys down at their knees or lower and He did use his slap techniques. Defense of linemen slap An offensive linemen across to head and almost talk on my taxes. Gain tackling wisconsin forum blows to the head an awful lot of targeting targeting but and a lot of hits where directed at people's heads. And so concussions were the You know ranked and That's that's what it was. I mean if he played the if he got hurt. You'd never left the game. I mean if you If you can play if you could walk you play by. Play in games in many times. Where i didn't know what was going on because i was little. So you go to sideline takes the sauce or something like that in a hope. That offense holds the ball long where you had to go back out there I've seen so many including myself walk through the wrong bench Not be able to get off the field less yet. Help to get off. And i've seen it so much the your teammates to help you get off the field. You walk over to. The bench takes smelling salts. Take five minutes break and go right back and you done but you on the field that You couldn't leave the field if you left because of injury. Somebody else take your jobs. You're not gonna get a well. He had thirty six guys on a roster so he did everything we played both ways sometimes special teams that was done was a small group of cash. We have about two and a half minutes before we have to break again. One thing. I know as a kid growing up in washington. Dc is that that nfc east was something special you had the giants you had the eagles you had the redskins. You had the dallas cowboys. Tell me about the rivalries briefly in that division people. I don't think people understand how how close the cities are except for dallas. Everybody else. I mean it's in philadelphia right. There was a rivalry the clean new york city washington d. c. even baltimore. I mean the people in philadelphia a little bit of a chip on your shoulder got. We didn't think we were recognized as you know as prominently so many other. Things are predicting new york. So he can. He played a game against the giants. It was you know pretty aggressive redskins the same way because they were close by and the baltimore and of course dallas came in came in as an expansion team. We thought we beat them. Because you know it makes the dolphin their program golfing pretty good program but The competition between cities was with Was king in a trade over nath lennox as well too so they're great rivalries and it still exist. You know the philadelphia and new york or washington. Play it pittsburgh near in there too It it's a real battle and dallas. Include him that only because for the eagles. I know what the redskins so the giants experience was but Early on in their existence of first year so they were in the league One of their linebackers civic cheap shot back then broke his jaw and from that day forward. The eagles have hated cop watch. I don't think the kids know that that that that that. That's one of the reasons for it. But kenny brown are running back. He's a great player and One of the libraries. I that know i can't remember for sure what was but one of the Tabby linebackers gave a forum across the job and he was on the ground running. Play play instead. He broke his job and So we had a county into a long lasting rivalry. Hold on just a second. We gotta take a break or crosses with us again. The book is called bearing the cross. My inspiring journey from poverty to the nfl and sports television in nineteen seventy five. He joined the nfl today. Program but also in seventy one. He joined cbs. And i had the honor and privilege of working with him on a game down in san diego which we'll talk about as we continue across the country and around the world. Good to have you with us on sports bylaw. Hello and welcome back to the ronnie defeats tax program on the line. Is paul from california. Hi.

"Cornerback who played nine years in the nfl. Most of those with the eagles even return to the team as a player coach and of course then went on without any experience at all into sports broadcasting with cbs sports. He talks about all of it in his book. Bearing the cross my inspiring journey from poverty to the nfl and sports television acclimation is always something. I've been very interested in a kid out of hammond. Indiana comes from poverty. Background goes to one of the highest respected academic schools for sure in the country. How did you fit in. What was the things they kind of. You made you go. Oh my well. He went went ahead an opportunity to that. It was you know. Probably a highly sought after athletes in the area and a number of schools Came by offer. Athletic scholarships and In those days the Bidding for players Skills or was was pretty aggressive and money was offered to people. Cars offered to people in. That situation offers me but Era parsegian called me Visited enough western a couple of times again advantage. Who was a good friend of mine was two years ahead of me at At hammond high school went to north western and he was Recommended me to To era that i might be. Somebody could wanna pursue after years of being scott. I guess he did call and he said we can't hear anything except a first class opportunity or first class education in an opportunity to play in the big ten coach. I'll be there and that. I felt strongly about that. If you're gonna go to A university whether it's no matter who i mean you go to get the best education to can you. Don't go there even though you play football as a way to earn scholarship aid Education is more important than anything else. And i just love north western philosophy and along that line and it's a time The program wasn't very strong. Their football programs week. Anybody by cnn. Our classes the first class he recruited and things turned around. For next year's end up at notre dame yeah exactly And after you played at northwestern you were drafted in the nfl in the seventh round by the eagles. When did you start thinking or did you even start thinking about wanting to go to the next level with your football game. I didn't have any interests. "You know, whether across the country or here in the Northeast the are from the origin of Lebanon have came here early Nineteen Hundred so they were professionals that were able to have access to these so just get in here into the country but was a dream come true because at the time when I came there was a time of peace and it was a migration instead of almost like a refugee situation and and fleeing the country so they came in here in a time of peace and they came here because of professional visas. They all were doctors lawyers already had higher level of education, but at the time that I was growing up in for somebody that my age that came in here in the nineties mid-nineties wage. It was almost impossible, you know as close as impossible as it can possibly be but God grants The Impossible and that's that's really one of the things that I am the recipient of being able to just speak to you today and being here agreed. I'm going back to when you came to the United States you had the family that sponsored you. What was the first job you had because now you own a general contracting business, correct? Yes. I do tell us how you got to that point from that start with the couple. He knows their son had worked in a football camp. That was run by a gentleman named Ron Burton and Ron Burton, you know, I did not know who the New England Patriots were totally oblivious trying to make a living. So Ron Burton was one of the running back for the New England Patriots as part of his life mission. He decided to open a page. Camp for inner-city kids that in the summer. It's a summer camp of football summer camp and they will come from all over the New England area and they will come to this Four Hundred Acre Farm and they will be trained by him and by his son and other coaches how to play football and get them, you know another way to get them out of trouble and be able to give them the opportunity to be mentored and Coach by real good people. I did not know any of that. I knew that mister Robert and is a very very kind bars South African American man, and he would call me big guy all the time. That was my nickname. He basically said if you could dig some ditches in here to plan some some bushes you got the job. That was my interview in less than five seconds. So gave me the job. Let me clarify your sponsors knew him, right? Yes, and so they connected you with him and he said if you can log Holes to plant trees you're hired and that was a job interview. Exactly. All right, and I started that same day. It was it was on the slot. Okay. So what happens next? So I used for almost the entire summer of that year. I came in here in June to part of the fall and almost into the winter until he came back and he said I can't believe you're still here digging ditches. This job is over but basically I kept digging ditches until he said Uncle he transformed that whole area into a million actin. He wanted like bushes and roses and things planted and in areas that they called it the gardens and that's was that was my first job. Thank God for him and took his family. I came to learn that his entire family is involved in sports and activities and helping inner-city kids at the time. I was very privileged to have that and what happens. And after he said, okay, you're done charbel with this job..

Man You deserve to win the Ron Burgundy award as well every time you come on here I appreciate the hell l. out of your statements. Now obviously I have to ask you. This year for the Patriots was different. This was a different year for you guys. This was a different Europe there. There's there's a lot of conversation and chatter surrounding foxborough including you. I think you're a free agent is well. What is your few we go? Yeah Hey I I only only three eight and I know Tom Brady a little better. That nobody's talking about Calvin L. now. I WanNA talk about Tom. Let's get it. We could talk about Tom. I've been I've been throwing up storms over here. I've one radio show. I said he's retiring the one he's going to Las Vegas to walk out of the country. I saw in dorms. We're going to have a hell of a time answering all my own artifacts so for the PAT McAfee show here. What do you think is going to happen with Tom? Brady I think Tom Brady is GonNa stay at home off. He's going to Miami uh-huh in there. You loved it down. There is no like warm weather. He likes more all of these things. Things are legitimately possible. Let's talk about your future though. What is your plan? What are you thinking well? You just had an incredible season. That defense was dominant. You gotTa be thinking that things are going to be very good. Let's see you this off season. I as you hit free agency. Yeah I think I'll have some option I want to do. What's best for my family? And I. I want to set up my my little legend Financially so obviously he's going to work his ass off that ain't happening but if things go south you ought. Aw I'll have a plan set up for him to be can take care of himself. What's your little legends name? Oh trae legend. I forgot what his nate. That's an incredible day. That is absolutely incredible. Now here's a question winning the Walter Payton Man of the year in New England is a massive deal because that means you've taken care of that community and beautiful fashion. Now you're hitting free agency. Is that something that's GonNa way heavy. 'CAUSE you're big community up here it is I. I would love to stay in England and not only because of the fan base and what Massachusetts now means to me but more importantly the players the friendships that I made with some of those players runs deep. You know they're gonNA be there my brothers for life what we've gone through. I know you said it's a different season in New England just because we lost and didn't go to the Super Bowl but we made the play offs. How many teams can say that and not many? We did that and obviously we didn't reach our goals. But I like how people say the different in New England only because we didn't make the super bowl which is absolutely insanity coast still. We had a good special teams and it just didn't end with the right result. We wanted to add Megan. It to talk. Isn't that insane though. That really is what this all spurs around the fact that the New England patriots didn't make the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is like a home for you guys. Shane made like h straight pro pro bowl or something like that. So they're like hey. He has a little legitimate walker at the pro bowl. If you guys have a legitimate locker room at the Super Bowl that's what it's felt like for the last twenty years so anytime he hit that. That's a massive. Everybody's like Oh they're dead. Yeah I have a question for you. Do you feel because I feel that it does. They have the same juice this year that I have in previous years kyle. This feels as if you're asking a question that has a very personal personal reason behind it and maybe a little bit of no it's more. I'm more I'm speaking of New England. I'm not speaking of myself thinking of New England. Do you feel like the juice is different this year than previous years. Even go all the way to the steelers and cardinals game. I guess you're right. It does feel as if there's not as much use now granted devastating loss at the beginning of the week to a legend in sports world. Right so it became something and I think even if you guys were there that would be something. I would have dominated the first half of the week because a lot of them. You know what I mean. But you're a hundred percent right though. There's John Story lines coming out of the super bowl other than everybody wondering Patrick Mahomes is going to be able to defeat that defense and your is good defense. Speak good offense your defensive player. I assume you figure that. Oh that's tough I personally. I don't think these teams match up very well with each other. That's my personal. Take defensively offensively. They have strength and weaknesses on the niners. Offensively the chiefs have strengths and weaknesses. You know but the niners offense is really good. The chiefs defense is weighing. Good at late I I. Just don't think they match up very well and I think he's painting you. You think Eric Offense wins over this whole thing. Do you think mahomes would be able to figure it out. You think Andy Reid finally gets one first time. In fifty years the chiefs have been super bowl. Yeah Yeah Andy. Reid is a Helluva coach. Give them two weeks with the same thing with Shannahan. I think the niners will because they're going to get a nuff stop and I don't think chiefs defense. Will you have a question. Dick's Oh no I was just gonNa say earlier that he was saying that there's not enough or not as much which energy around simple I think it's because the fans are like fifty fifty split. When New England was in ninety nine percent of the country was ruining against knowing? Let's drive by Hate Hugo. Everybody hates us. I think when you come to our point by point along a lot of people a lot of people tweet me whenever you're on this a show that they don't want to like you they would like to hate you strictly because you're a patriot and you make it very difficult. That's something to think about going to this offseason or you are in Coke Mason. Jason You you you love. MD They hate. They hate the Patriots. Now I'd hate run deep even. Hey you even hate me but you gotta I respect it but I do think oh. Here's something I have to ask you before we get out of here. Joe Judge hired as a head coach. Good higher for the giants I think. So Oh I think so if he if you can yes. He's a ball of energy. If he can take his energy he has and consistently assistant Lee each and every day lying it up with that positive energy and not go. ooh All over the place. I think they're going to be really really good. 'cause he's a really good coach. He loves football. That's not me selling him. I should straight back. He loves football. I mean his country so speaking. He's all over the place when he gets going is money I he loves football I. I'm excited for him with the giant LASCO's giants right. Oh they have a lot of money off before we get out of here. Is that little so brace that you have on your left ring finger. The reason why the Patriots lost this year was a devastating injury. They're all my middle finger. Good Hey Walter Payton man of the year brother Will you ladies and gentlemen thank you. I appreciate it. Shout out sat out mazing man. They're great hey off the top. That's speech I can't wait to hear it. Ladies Gentlemen Calvin undefeated PAC man. What's gone? I'm not making your head bigger. I'm seriously I love what you're doing. You're killing it and I thank you so much. Good luck with your anytime Tom. You WanNa come on here you let me know okay. I'm in the hair he's a he's a good dude. Yeah Classic Dick Dude Man Class about as good as they come and everybody the first time he's on the show all anybody said was man. I don't WanNA listen to this because I would like to hate the Patriots. Any any makes it very difficult to hate the Patriots. He's a free agent though and they just had a monster year defensive Golfer New England normally you could sell a team has goodbye when they they cut a player for another team. Picks them up right so there for a while on our team. We cut a player. Nobody who pick them up the Patriots kind of player. That person has claimed on waivers the next day it's like. Hey we trust US ballot. Check enough that. If he brought them in a reason he was in their dominant there. He's going to the market. There's GonNa be a lot of money for a little legend Film Junkie Film Rat Fred Fred Warner who's a budding young linebacker another. Byu Guy Loves Kyle. That's been oi does for a lot of the other guys around Walter Payton Man of the year huge. That is that is something that says. Hey off the field this guy stop. Stop just as much as on the field for Calvin welcome back to the booms. They're still going over over there. I don't think there's a single human at the party. But they have been either testing the sound system to Max or they've been having a party for just a couple of people in a couple a couple of people just running the whole place out. That's what I'm talking about honesty. That's what I'm talking about. We've we parked to play. There was more yachts in more more big planes that I've ever seen in my entire life ever. Burton score gave north western in nineteen to seven lead and it was twenty five to seven at halftime. in the third quarter with the field reduced to mud northwestern ran a trick play that expose just how incapacitated the Sooners work. the Wildcats center took his stance over the ball at the left end of the line he was the center in name only the other four linemen lined up to his right. northwestern quarterback big thorn took the snap gave a quick juke in Oklahoma defensive and Ronnie pain stumbled in his feet. pain scrambled after Fortin and didn't catch him until the quarterback game fourteen yards no one else caught him either. say that the final score of forty five to thirteen stun the college football world would be an understatement. say it was an out wire and Wilkinson's hall of fame career would be obvious. concern lost twenty nine games in seventeen seasons. lost in northwestern was his biggest by ten point. so the question is what happened here in Oklahoma just happened eight bad fruit salad or did someone deliberately douse their melons and bananas with apple more fame here's what we know..

Know, you don't raise your hand when they call on you, a mocking the remember, whatever mocking birth to remember more. I got sixty nine sounds. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? It is just priceless. And for those of you that listen to that and go man does he sound like a meathead? Well, this meathead, according to all reports has lived his entire career office endorsement money, and he's made in salary sixty million dollars. So that in fact, it's even a small percentage of the salary, even if he spent that to live, and he had some major endorsements as we know about to live off that and save all your salary money. There is nothing meet had about that. There's nothing dumb about that. Because you can sit there and say, well, he had the right money. People a lot of people have the right money people, and they can tell you what to do with your money, and how you should save your money, and they'll still go and spend it that's why we saw the thirty for thirty broke and all the pro athletes that ended up out of money this guy. It sounds like did a lot of smart things with his money and is now going to enjoy life. We already knows he enjoys life, but he'll be able to enjoy life while sitting on a pile of cash as well not that he needs that because you're gonna have fun doing anything. He wants. But it's not bad to have along the way. Yeah. Crock still has college taste, which is nice college taste is very cheap. Yeah. Everything else is where it gets a little bit more expensive. But you're right. Like, what are the other things that kind of goes I saw some smatterings of it on Twitter today. You can argue especially because the injury relative to his talent grossly underpaid, which is the militia England get him in the second because he's hurt and then to be able to keep him cheap relative to his talent because he was injured. So the other thing about gronk that people don't know he was given the patriots Ron Burton community service award winner. I think like at one point three years in a row. Not only does he not spend a lot of his money. He gives a ton back to the community and does a bunch of stuff. Visiting hospitals in kids. He does that all gets no publicity because it didn't want any more. He just wanted to do it. "This is the Morgan show. We're talking about the football game tomorrow. What football game? Charges coming to play the pats. At Foxboro I'm not there. But that's where the game will be. And Steve before we picked it up and take a phone call the to my son asked me to ask you to call him. So I will text you his phone number sometime after eleven o'clock or so I'll be glad to call. You got it. All right. So I've delivered that message. And let's take our first phone call of the night. Jimmy in Walpole welcomed. Hi there. Good. How you doing? Steve. You know, you're the best. Really? All right. All right. You know, I've got since those military tickets for decide twenty fifth year. I've only missed like four games there at the three perfection AFC championship game in Philip rivers played his butt off. He really did not train toward a also. I. I expect him to come full on. And you know, the. Gordon? So I'm just hoping the key is hopefully, the hopefully the charges get off and they differ and Tom Brady moves down at school is right away. Right at the beginning. Because I think you gotta get up gotta get up fast and make make the charges instead of being behind. No jury. I'm gonna flip that switch. I'm gonna say I hope the patriots win. The coin flip as always defer and let the let the patriot defense go out and stop the Los Angeles chargers offense and then get the ball. And then do just that. And each team gets a series, and before you know, what the patriots are up seven nothing and not looking back. That'd be the best that. To to you know, the kids I think with the charges. I wanted to say San Diego, just like everyone else does I feel as though just you have to you have to get up, and you have to you have to beat them down. 'cause they will come back. You have to be down until they don't wanna be beat down anymore. That's a very good point. They are known to score points in the fourth quarter. Jimmy. That's his name. Jimmy, first of all, we appreciate your service and all that you've done for this country. So thank you very much for that. And a couple of things you brought up a really good point one rivers when he played was a tornado on the tray, and and and doing his heart and soul out in that game. The one thing that I'm gonna I Morgan before the game we have an hour pregame show. Yeah. I sit down with them. According according twins at one of the things they said is their favorite quarterback. Obviously is Tom Brady with your second favorite quarterback, Philip rivers. And it was weird for me to hear them say that because we're getting ready to go up against them. Right. So why would your second favorite quarterback because in they said because he plays with so much. We definitely don't wait. He plays top. He doesn't matter if he's not he'll play through it. And he goes we love that guy. Absolutely. Love him because he brings so much passion for the team. So yeah, people forget that that he was injured and still continue to play to it. He's gonna bring everything he's got tomorrow. And for the patriots are so him down it just gonna try and rattle. You gotta get up. You gotta get up. Gotta keep keep the gas pedal on. And Steve, you know, I love I watched I watch patriots all access every week. I appreciate you're the best. You really I'm surprised you haven't gone national. But thank God you haven't. Because we've got you. Hey, you know. When your family. Thank you. Good night you and Jimmy happy new year. I'm going to echo. What Steve said every time. I get anyone who calls who's won the uniform of one of our military services. I say, thank you. So thank you for your service and else wants to call in and his I'm gonna say, I've got news break coming up at the bottom of the hour, and I'll bring Steve back. So he's not going anywhere. But if I don't get calls. After the bottom of the hour. News break wouldn't let him go. He's got a busy night. Still. Are you doing Jennifer news tonight? Or is that Roce today I'm going to try and get a good night's sleep. So I'm ready for tomorrow. Okay. Do you wanna talk to the fans out? There is. The scores. Tomorrow tomorrow's game because well all types of different scores tomorrow. Why I'd love to get the opinions of the fans out there who they think they're gonna win in school. They can get I'll start with me. I will tell I think the patriots. For a final score matrix going to be two touchdown winner. So I'll go twenty eight fourteen fourteen. Okay. Yup. I think all I think the patriots offense will show that. The jets game was not a miracle clicking clicking up and down the line on our fence that game running and passing. And I think it'll be a similar experience on tomorrow afternoon. That's me. I hope you're right. And if it now, I cannot ask you to do the same thing because you're a reporter, and I'm not gonna put you in that position. After the game. Will you tell people what you thought would be the score. Yeah. I can I can I can give the score. Oh, the can give you what I think is going to be a scored tonight. Thankfully. All right. But again, I am hoping that there are chargers. Fans listening you go to another city, and you flip the dial to hear talk. And if you hear obviously right now with WBZ, we're talking charges and patriots. So I know there's some charger fans listening, and I would love for you as a charge. It's fan to call in and give me your opinion naturally here. Jimmy and most of the calls that we get between now and the top of the hour. We'll be reflective of what Jimmy said he remembers the last time that sandiego came here, and it was. Charges patriots.
