"Man. Last night I had to visually or at least Via audio. Obviously try to paint a picture as to some of these Foreign substances checks in Major League baseball. Max Scherzer was on the mound last night, and he was just I don't want to say physically abused, but between him and Sergio Romo taking down his pants. It was more than you would ever look for or bargained for in Major League baseball. Damn it. We even have a major league baseball player who says it was an embarrassment. It was a

Super Bowl LV: How Tom Bradys Bucs Upset The Chiefs

"Bill. It is eleven twenty nine pm eastern and we made it. We have arrived at our final late sunday night session of the nfl season. I think you're showing the appropriate level of enthusiasm. Just watch ill. Barnwell has been our. Nfl oracle through low. These many football weeks you can catch wisdom on the bill. Barnwell show podcast and his monday column on. Espn plus bill. I know i'm washed. I knew that coming in. But tonight i also discovered that i'm like had to close my eyes because the weekend halftime show is making me wash so on top of these horrific super bowl. We ended up getting an. I'm also just the opposite of tom brady. In every sort of genetic sense it turns out. There were so many songs i've heard in uber's or biggest when i was like. Oh that's who does that song. That sucks i. i'm. I'm okay with that songs now. I really learned a lot during the halftime show. Not sure i learned so much during the actual game l. If i mean it just in thinking about what are most notable takeaway or the the moment remember from the super bowl will be years from now it comes down to maybe mccall hardman lining up full yard offsides on a field goal. Try tony romo. Getting very excited about a streaker. In the fourth quarter of lot where he was trying to will the game to be competitive was a a complete and utter dominant victory by the buccaneers and was an upset but the thoroughness of the whole thing and the repetitive nature. What happened from series and series for possession possession. Really just sort of by the end of the game. Everyone knew what the story was because it was really office so it did feel a times bill like we were getting. Tom brady playing his hits. But before we pay our respects at the altar of brady and all of his non washington is. I want to ask how exactly kansas city. Patrick mahomes looked this helpless. Because that's what was shocking to me too twenty seventeen before mahomes was a starter in the league to find a game where the chiefs had been. Shut out of the end zone entirely before tonight. So how did the buccaneers. How defensive coordinator. Todd bowles stopped. One of the most unstoppable offenses. We ever seen it. Was you know sort of a game. Plan out of the nineteen sixties. Winning at the line of scrimmage and dominating upfront and you know. I don't want to exaggerate. Wanted to subscribe to recency bias. But i have to admit i'm not sure i've ever seen an offensive line. Get beaten badly over the course of an entire game as the chiefs were by the buccaneers on sunday. Night me last year in the super bowl we saw nick bosa and the forty niners really dominate the chiefs from most of the first three quarters were on pace to win that game but fourth quarter. Nick bosa got tired. And patrick mahomes turn things around very quickly. The chiefs launched forward scored a bunch of touchdowns and won the super bowl. And this time around. We were sort of waiting for that moment right and it never happens. The buccaneers pressure mahomes on virtually every single meaningful past play. This game often

A Telsa Model S Refresh?

"You've been telling me about why. I think there's going to be a model as an ex refresh. Yeah and there was like it was really hard to test drive them. There were like upping the sales out of everything they were. You couldn't see them in showrooms anymore night. This big list of rumors as to why we thought it might happen and then like an hour ago. It just all unveiled so well. So there's a there's a lead up to it the the model s. design is it's like ten plus years old at this point like fundamentally. The design of the car is unchanged since the beginning rate. So there's one small outside refresh her where the front grill nose cone. that was an exterior. Like look change. Is that what you call a nosecone nosecone. Yeah i've always just called at the grill. But obviously it's not. It isn't enact plastic nosecone two more metal okay but The autopilot versions changed. But really fundamentally the inside has always been that vertical screen and it's always been the same doors. Same door handles same shape so they've never really changed the model s. in car years. That's a long time let alone tech years that's forever. Yeah so. The rumors have been building for a long time. And we kind of were like. I think that this earnings call on wednesday were according to one night. Just say you know yeah have plans to possibly make video about all this. But we're recording on wednesday night and during the earnings call. They update the site. They give the over all the stuff and dropped a new model lesson ex and yet it's something is there's a lot to it. I guess we'll just. I'm just going to go down the list. This obviously isn't a video podcast yet. But i do have a lot to say about the aesthetics and the things that they've changed right. Yeah maybe i'll use this template as like a guide for the video. What i make it. We'll see i almost debated telling you throw camera up here and just take the clips out and turn it into the youtube video also. Yeah so right off. The bat outside changes are pretty small. They turned all the chrome black kind of like they did with model three and model. I every single car company do that. Please stop with the chrome. I think toyota has been doing it. A bunch with just maybe not even like their door handles and window trim but they've been doing it with their emblems and like the wording and names on the back and they looked so good on every single caller romo terrible. Please stop. Yeah feel old. Basically starting to feel a little bit outdated so it's gone from the car. I think maybe just the logo the last chrome piece. but that's that's pretty sweet and then There's a little bit of a different shape up front a little bit of a more simple grill at the bottom. For the front splitter and different fog i think i read people were saying it looks like the air like in vents are a little bigger probably to help battery cooling yup the better battery performance and i think that leads us beautifully into the new specs before i talk about the interior. So it's just going to be three models model s. and i'm going to focus on model s even a model x. Got this refresh it. Basically doesn't exist tesla like they still make it kind of because they have to nightmare. Yeah there's not a lot of attention around the x this is about the s. I'm just talking about this. Yeah i'm just trying to think of. Who's the i feel like the x. Still gets a lot like in the blogger community. A couple david dobric jake paul logo on it. There's jailers very her. Jalen smith jr jada jason. What's his son's name. Now you've got me thinking. Smith i don jaden has one. There's some there's small market for the ex. Yeah but the model s. is where it's at so there's really just three versions now. And by the way. I'm gonna say overarching for this. Whole thing is simplicity. Dustless manufacturing simplifying line vehicles. So there's three there's a long range model s a plaid model s and a plaid plus model s. so model s long range has four hundred twelve mile range zero to sixteen three point one seconds dual motors and it's. It's a pretty standard. Look that's like what probably most people getting a model less would get then. The performance version is your plaid model s. which goes directly to triple motors. It drops a little bit range three hundred ninety miles but it goes two hundred mile an hour. Top speed and zero to sixty in one point nine nine seconds. I'm gonna say that one more time just in case you didn't hear it this. Several thousand pound four door family car. Hatchback does zero to sixty in one point. Nine nine seconds like you need to like take a an advanced driver's test in order to get something that can go under two seconds to pilot this thing. Yeah yeah every time. I think about like performance cars on the street. I'm like i icy regular people driving cars poorly all the time and i just get a little bit worried about giving them that much power. There's a whole youtube rabbit hole of great like mustang arm beats of people just like wrecking it into the median pulling out yet i mean i guess the good thing is this is all wheel. Drive is the safest car on the world. This is a car that's tries really hard not to crash itself but yeah lot power here but just so you know that's starting at one hundred twelve thousand nine ninety which has ten thousand more than the previous model and then plaid plus is eleven hundred horsepower versus that one thousand twenty of plaid zero to sixty. There are a little more vague with this under one point nine nine seconds. So it'll be faster. We don't know how much faster it's still trip promoters. And it'll do the quarter mile in less than nine seconds which would make it. The quickest zero to sixty and the quickest quarter-mile acceleration in any production car. Ever and again. this is not yet the roadster. This is just a speck. Yeah but the most interesting spec to me of plaid plus is it still triple motor. There's new battery info but it goes five hundred twenty plus miles on a charge. So what was the long range again. Four sixty long-range was four. Twelve for twelve plaid was down to three ninety and then plaid plus was five twenty so this leads me to believe that. Plaid plus is a different battery technology. Do you think it's the one. Because that's sounds around the specs of the roadster was supposed to have right exactly roadsters. Got us six twenty plus quoted mile range and on top of that. This is the one other thing that's really interesting. I'll just touch on the x for a second. I don't think this is happening the x. Because if you go to the model x. site you can see you have the long range version which has a three hundred sixty mile range and the plaid version which has a three hundred forty mile range. So there's no plaid. Plus so whatever's happening with plaid. Plus is i guess this ultra high end security premium powertrain and battery system that only the high end model s. And i guess eventually roadster star gonna get it. Sounds like it's just a roadster with a model spotty it's a four door roadster four door to door. Yeah no it's it's a it's a crazy it's crazy car i. I'm prefacing all this with like. I don't need it. I'm not gonna get it. I'm gonna wait till the roadster but also this is absolutely insane. What they've done now really. The the most important part is the inside of the car that they've updated so like i said simplicity's sake finally switched to the horizontal touchscreen inside which i think looks pretty good. It's like a little more well integrated with the car doesn't stick out as much as three. Yeah i think what i like. I like that. But i liked that. They kept the screen in front of you. Like a regular odometer like they have in the model s. already because like three and y. I'm fine with that screen. There i only thing is. It's a little weird that you have to look over seer odometer but the fact that you have a better spot there and you still have your regular like driving odometer with a high acid and speaking of that steering wheel hobo this is this is the interesting went and i think this is where a lot of people are polarized because this interior looks very similar minus steering wheel if you look on their site. It's a yoke style steering wheel and it's almost kinda squared off. So it's like the bottom half of a square steering wheel and then there's a bunch of buttons on the steering wheel itself and there are no blinker stocks. No windshield wiper stocks. Nothing behind the wheel. No paddles no nothing yeah. Let's paint a picture here though. Because i've never heard the term yoke style and i only understand it because i saw the picture right before so picture fighter jet handles like that. Yoke style top trying to top office doing rectangle and doesn't have a top part. So yeah i'm just like i was just trying to think about using it. In general it seems so cool for like straight line in like minor turns on a highway but exactly turning around in a parking lot or like a tight driveway or something seems miserable on it. Yeah i this is one of those things where i'm imagining it and i'm imagining it really poorly and i think i'm just going to have to try it because as of right now i don't even think this is legal to ship yet. I think you technically have to have enclosed steering wheel and then people earliest you have to ship it with one and the people can modify it later. I think that's technically the rule here in the us. I don't know the rules internationally. But i've never seen a car actually ship with a yoke steering wheel before so again. This is all tb will see it happens. But i think i'm going to have to give it a shot because it's really weird.

Serie A Race Tightens

"We saw in italy where a c milan are windsor. Champions at the halfway stage in syria they are top of the table. Two points clear of into despite the fines. They lost three now at home against atalanta. Insecurity manage a nil nil draw. Meanwhile away against 'euthanazi and romo a seven goal thriller against four three moving them up to third in the table. It's welcoming shall we shoot robson show robot. Let's start with milan against atalanta talk about impressive. The visitors are brilliant. That difficult i ten or fifteen minutes but once they start planning football and they get illegit you vote and he kept on coming in off of that right hand side onto his left. The patter led the line brilliantly. Froylan back in midfield ghosts down one side patty board down the other three centre backs defended really well as well as i've seen the defend for quite some well they dominated the game. I mean thrown in midfield kept on making challenges and milan could get into their front plays enough. So he was at the game for long periods the young plas- planning behind him and mehta and on the other side castillejo. They couldn't get involved in the game for once able to dominate midfield so brilliant performance by its atlanta and now the informed seem at the moment and if they depict their best side against tonight as a earlier on earlier this week and last week they would be right up with the front runners of course is at the moment who are the front runners. I it's interesting is this same regressing to the mean slightly robots. Yes they're a good side but not a great side you know when you go abraham of issues who's thirty nine and he's Lead the line. The three young players played in behind on several different occasions came on on. He's going to be quite good enough to take them to the next level. Amac is got saints off last week. And he's quite good enough at the moment guests. The good game in midweek against calgary didn't play whatsoever today. May you make these Food first full appearance didn't really impress. So they're they're aside. That can improve. But let's do what some young players that needs to improve quickly to narnia didn't think dominated the midfield. And that's what kissy had a problem today. Impressive milano after that defeat which not forget. It was their first domestic defeat against events as they bounced by. Didn't they they got the win. Against torino gonna win against cavalry as well so after this defeat robbo you would be hoping for the same sort of mentality going forward. You think they can get themselves together. They can regroup because it's against the small teams in which they've picked up those crucial points this season. I need some of that players. Back the nia challinor who need right. But you wanted to substitute. He'll you him back. The got manzu kitchen now to help out ibrahimovic if he if he needs to be swapped any point so i think they've got the mentality pill has done a really good job mentally with them. He's a good coach as well. They got the you know exactly what they're trying to do but he's also got them on that even kill so when they lose games they don't panic too much. They come back again. So i think they'll they'll certainly putting performances but i still don't think they're quite good enough to win syria

Philip Rivers and Kirk Cousins' Season Outlook

"This has become a big part of the season. The the quarterback lawyers out there so it became a topic that i talked about on monday because of the romo defending brady and basically criticizing arians but it seems like a lot of the athletes. Hate the Law offices of romo and collins worth all of these guys that seem to protect the quarterback but then it was another level for the monday night. Game with wentz where people were so mad. Anytime brian greasy would be like well actually was a screen and they missed the block here and it was on again and it looks a lot of guys i used to work with. Espn like name is. They know they are. They got so mad about the. The defense of any of these. Quarterbacks is fair when it comes to the stuff you're at home your home just like the rest of us are watching these games. They give me a break of the tampa thing and then wentz. Yeah i mean. I don't think either quarterbacks in a good situation right now when you look at those two guys. But i also think there's some i mean to to absolve either. One of them of blame is crazy to me. Neither one of our plan well So that to me. It's kind of more a little bit more nuance there. I don't think either one of them are in the right system. That fits what they do right now and the other side of it as well. But that's where you find yourself. Your job is to execute with the situation. You find yourself in. i think carson's little carson's is is is a longer story About everything that's going on there with him to me. He looks like somebody who's kind of just completely lost his confidence you know. See what a guy it out in hoops curious around like in football. We talk about guys to start guiding the ball right. They don't they don't have any confidence or trust and you're really trying to guide the ball and then you end up with some really bad messes. I don't know if a shooter go through a slump. What what that looks like. But that's what it looks like with carson. There's nothing like a quarterback who's lost confidence it really. I think eventually like if you're a decent shooter not just going to not be able to shoot for year. Because you're bummed out. I mean paul george in the bubble so whatever But i don't know what the excuse was another playoff games. I think the biggest thing that you'll notice basketball is a guy who was a guy coming back from some kind of injury and he's good to go it's not like he doesn't trust his knee. And you played a lot of basketball. He's just stuff around the rim. he's inbetween decisions. Sometimes you just forget to drive usually remember used to drive past guys but eventually all that stuff goes away. I don't think there's anything as long lasting in basketball is there is is. The quarterback is completely lost. And then you'll see guys who lose so much confidence they start changing the way they've played like that's one of the crazy things about the cousin story. Is that cousins. Was somebody who took no chances to kind of make his way into the game. And then he had some decent statistical seasons and then he actually started. I think chuck in the ball a lot last year. Know what he actually came around. And then you know. He has dug game after they beat the saints. Which wasn't surprising to me. And then the beginning of this year. He was chuckling at all over the place and they were terrible for complete like changed who they became as a team with cook and yet cousins was great. Cousins will have these moments where he's like two completely different guys which is my biggest with ever putting him up in higher group with with some other people have them up there but cousins to me like in some areas. There's some similarities to rivers. And that i always felt like with rivers man if if if he hits that that hot stretch for him when he get. The postseason like flat goes agree. Example flack over sixteen seventeen games in any season his career. Like you're not. You're not going to buy that as a change of quarterback but he always had that ceiling for manufacturing it for three or four weeks. He's capable of doing that in off they go. I've always kinda put rivers in that category. That if he could get in the tournament and just had to have one of those hot streaks he could carry them and cousins is kind of like the the next version of that were I don't trust kirk over sixteen games but in a three or four game stretch. If you've got the good version kirk cousins like that's that's dangerous. He could actually do something. I always like rivers way more cousins. I wouldn't say this version of rivers but you know he's more accomplished definitely more -ccomplish but i'm just still saying that that rivers his hot stretches lasted longer than any of kirks hot stretches. But i've seen rivers put together three unbelievable games and then just added nowhere. You're like dude what what happened. Like just a clunker can happen so that that to me is where i find a little bit of the similarity there.

Painting Exterior Brick

"You're listening to the beautiful mess podcast this week. We're talking all about painted exterior brick. I've learned so much from painting three howson row and this last time we things a little bit differently and learned even more. I know the painting brick can be controversial but we're passionate about how much it can improve home like my nine thousand nine hundred ninety s half brick half stucco home. The difference is night and day. it's magical also answering a listener question about wedding registry. Must have this. Week's episode is sponsored by leah lonnie. We'll chat more about them later in the sewed all right. Let's talk about painted brick. This is very controversial. Like you know the comments get heated. It's funny to me that it's even do people care a lot about painting brick and they care a lot about how you store display. Your books are some controversial topics universe. Okay i saw. How many times have you painted the exterior brick of a home. Not one not two but three times all right so first of all about five years ago. We painted our first home when we moved to nashville and we painted about a year after we moved in and we lived there for four years with the brick painted nowhere and tear except for the front porch where we step down on it and it's like also rains on and little bit different. That would touch every year but the rest of the brick nowhere and tear whatsoever and also like painting. A floor is very different from painting a wall. Yeah we all know the obvious and then our last home so you know that we famously moved into a house and moved out four months later so we painted that home it was it was it was an unintentional flip as soon as we realized we needed and wanted to sell it quickly. I scheduled my local painter to campaign to any came the next week and painted it and he did a great job It was very quick. It made it faster mo- We'll talk more about that later in the episode Whether or not it adds value is definitely like a big question and then our current home where we just moved to. We had it painted a couple of weeks ago. And we used a new material that we've never used before romo bio paint and it is a lime based paint so it's natural it's nontoxic it's not actually paint but it's like painting brick with brick is how they say that if you feel it still feels like brick there's no gloss to it all there's no sheen to it all it's perfectly mad and it said to age really well over time and we thought it was cool that it was environmentally friendly and lasts a little bit longer so i also like that you've kind of tried a bunch of different so you can i mean i just feel like that lind's to your with painting brick so people are interested it's like oh well should i use this type this type or what's the most affordable way to go about it or whatever for shar so on that note let's get into some common things that people like to ask Are your neighbors okay with it. You're in a little bit of a cold sack. Yeah your neighbors are fairly close. Not like right up against your house but you can definitely see their houses from your house and yours is the one white one. Everyone else has unpainted brick. So every where we've lived out of these three houses it's been mostly brick homes and our home kinda stood out why it was never the only like especially where we live. Now there's quite a few brick homes in the subdivision but not right next to ours. So i think that it. I think that it does stand out but one of our neighbors ran right over the next after we did it and said to jeremy that they had always nicknamed our house the institutional looking house and now it looks way better so funny. That's a really nice really really nice osei and we also like yeah. We wanted to make sure that they liked it so it felt good to know that like they were cool with it. Our houses a little bit tucked back. So i didn't feel like it doesn't really like show like you have to be right. It is a little it to see it. it's not a house you would like to drive by when you were like out on a drive. Let's put it that way now. It's kind of tucked away in the hold a sack. But i also just my own perspective. Even if i have a neighbor who paints their house exterior something. That maybe i wouldn't have chosen. I always just seeing. When people are taking care of their homes. I feel like most neighbors feel that way. Of course you want to check if you haven't hoa and they have rules or your neighborhood rules and you're not allowed to paint certain colors or whatever of course check into that. That's very important. Because i think your neighbors might care on that one but on that i really think just like when you have neighbors who are taking care of their house. They mow their lawn. A take care of landscaping. They don't let things become kind of broken or in disrepair even if they painted a caller. That isn't my choice. Which love white. But if i didn't i would still feel like well. At least they're you know spending money on their home in up keeping it in like that's gonna make the neighborhood. Nice place overall just that people care and are putting love and money into their property.

The 1918 Spanish Flu: Fact vs. Fiction

"This is Oscar Fernandes and today on the show, we put the spotlight on Texas to discuss the fact versus fiction of the Spanish flu pandemic of nineteen eighteen and to follow up on the one year anniversary of the mass shooting in El Paso Texas, the largest mass shooting targeted against Latinos, and so there's no need for a long introduction today on the show because our guest today has a lot to say on how the US in various ways is repeating history in its poor response to the pandemic. The scapegoating of others who have no control of the pandemic and which community ultimately praise the costs for the pandemic and so with us on the show today is w Dorado Romo. He's a researcher and the author of a ringside seat to revolution and underground cultural history of El Paso, and is which is available on single prosperous that we joins us today to combat to show W doral Romo. Thank you so much. Is Good to have you with us once again and doesn't probably no way of escaping any news whatsoever as it pertains to the current. Co Ed nineteen pandemic. You know it's affected almost every corner of society both here in the US and abroad. But one thing that's been cited as a frame of reference of valuable one, I would say is the Spanish flu pandemic of nineteen eighteen. Now in recent weeks, politicians and media people have stated that the US has not seen anything like the in pandemic since the Spanish flu of nineteen eighteen. Even you know Donald Trump and self has been cited Spanish flu in his own ignorant ways. I would I would say. But when reasons I want to talk to you was because this soon is the Spanish flu pandemic came up in mainstream media and the first thing that came to mind was Our discussion that we had last year with regards to the bath riots and it gives me the feeling that there's some things missing as it pertains to Race River Garson and the narrative of the Spanish flu pandemic. So a want to know based on what you've seen this far when people sight to space Lou, what do you feel is missing in this important narrative? I think you hit it on the nail. The idea that the pandemic was just a problem of perhaps Just, a a medical problem is something that's usually citing it by these media reports but. Raised and war have a huge part to play in in this. So called Spanish food and I think one of the things that has. Not Been. Looked into as much as. A huge role that the United States played in this called Spanish who I mean I I, I would call it the American sloop because they didn't start in Spain. It actually most of the evidence that we have historically the first official report. Of the Spanish flu was from Pasco County, council. And it was in a in a US military camp. Ford Riley canceled that it I broke out now there's other theories but most of the evidence points to that so this is Not so much the Spanish food at the American flu and I think that has been something that has not been as deeply investigated in many of these. Reports. So the question has to be asked, how did the Spanish flu get its name? If it was actually based here in Kansas as he said. Well. During. World War One, it was censorship. So the when I broke out in March of nineteen eighteen and one military cab. There was hardly anything written about it. It was actually A. A. Cook at the base of contract. And within. A few days there were hundreds of US soldiers? That, That were hit that that excel stake as Devo them died. From the flu. So the reason that is called a Spanish food is because Spain was a neutral country. So they were able to report. The fact that even even some of the most prominent. political figures from Spain were infected contractors to flu. So the name stuck that was the first. Was the first country where there was actually uncensored reporting about the flu to the main stuff but it was. It's also I think this idea of thickness. Always comes from the other side. The His what would you call it? The other association of of disease. You know the. Americans in the very beginning they and some of them playing some of the news sources would blame on the German thinking that it was a form of bacteriological warfare. Germans also had it. And they blamed it on the Russians they call it the the Russian has the Russians blamed on the Chinese everybody blamed on on on someone else the white South Africans called the the copy of. The Black Man Species? So I. Think this is part of. Stigmatization of the other using DC. To kind of Yeah. To stigmatize other racists, other nationality has always been kind of a universal part of this. Funny enough. Even back in nineteen. A lot of the banish medical. So rotation. Would pointed out the unfairness calling the Spanish flu they knew that it had not originated there

For some arrested at the Portland protests, release is conditional on not attending future demonstrations

"About a dozen black lives matter. Protestors in Portland have been released from jail under the condition that they do not attend any future demonstrations. As NPR's Vanessa Romo reports those terms might be unconstitutional. Court documents say the alleged offenders are forbidden from attending, quote any other protests, rallies, assemblies or public gatherings and the city of Portland. Or anywhere else in the state of Oregon Bailey Dr. Abyss who was arrested Wednesday night and released 14 hours later says he and some of his fellow protesters felt forced to accept the conditional release or else remain in jail indefinitely. He says his public defender was pretty clear that if I wanted to be out of there that day that I would have to take them. She kind of chuckled with me. I didn't do anything unusual upon. Some legal experts say the move violates the constitutional right to free

Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag

"Not Deal for. Prescott and the cowboys could not agree to terms on a deal that would have the quarterback between thirty three and thirty five million dollars annually with a hundred and ten million of that guaranteed. So Daf will now play this season on the thirty one point four million dollar franchise tag. He will once again on himself this season if there were reports that the two sides were close, they clearly were not close enough. WHO's more likely to regret? Not Getting a deal done deaf Prescott or the Dallas Cowboys. I'm going to say. Despite the fact that I believe is going to end up the highest paid player than Patrick Mahomes in NFL, history I Dak is going to get the money that he ultimately wanted I think he's going to be franchise tag this year franchise tag next year and then hit open free agency. But here for deck that in the in the pursuit of that money, he's going to become an athlete that I. Don't think any athlete wants to be which is your name is not your name anymore? It's not Dak. Prescott is having a Joe Johnson Joe. Johnson stopped being Joe Johnson. He started being Joe Contract because no matter how good he was, he was never going to be able to live up to that contract. And I think Jack is setting himself up to be a little bit richer than he otherwise would be. Be a guy who can never live up to that contract, and the reason I think Dallas is not gonNA regret this, even if they back on the quarterback treadmill is because the the worst thing you can have in this league. Wild does not have a quarterback. The worst thing you can have is a vastly overpaid quarterback. If you don't have a quarterback and find a new one, you can go try to find one if you have a vastly overpaid quarterback. You're just stuck and so I think Jack is going to get what he thinks he wants in this the most money in. Have ever gotten aside from Mahomes I. Think he will end up regretting it because you have a great organization, you have great skill, position guys, and if he would've just signed for Carson, Wentz plus ten percent, no one would've held it against him, and instead this contract and the negotiations around at wild. You're going to be the narrative surrounding him for years to come. See I disagree. You think that it's it's. I think the worst thing to have is a mediocre quarterback. Any shot at the super. Bowl and I'm GONNA throw to a clip of Darren Woodson in a second, but I think in our minds if it's been glossed over that, it was troy and then Tony, but there was a the drew bledsoe Weirdo error there that they were in a bad spot. If we can take a listen a Darren Woodson please hubs. In, the world when you have quarterback purgatory. Where you can. You're not good at that position. That position is holding you back from winning games, and there was a time before Tony Romo era. Where there were four years, we went five and eleven. In a week, totally struggled at that one position in in today's game that one position is means a ton means wins and losses gotta get you over the Hump in when you don't have that Clare in that position. It's a huge struggle. I'm. So. Bryan. I think this eventually gets done I. Don't know if he gets franchise again. I think that we just moved the goalposts and a long-term deals going to get done. They like each other. Dak wanted for the cowboys wanted five I. Don't think the answer is. Let's get divorced just because we can't agree. I think this eventually get works gets worked out and I. Don't think anyone has any regrets long-term. The cowboys ended up regretted. Just a bit because I think that goes out and has a very good year. This season with Mike McCarthy Mike McCarthy comes back in after winning a playoff game or two, and says we need to have Dak back now. The cowboys have to pay him that long term contract, which is going to be a little bit more than they would have had to pay him this year. Here's the question that I've always had. If if the cowboys don't love, why would they ever want to sign him to a five year deal versus the forty deal if you don't love them then? On to a four year deal, you can get rid of him quicker. Why would you want WanNa longer contract if you don't love him, and you don't know exactly what he is for your football team to me I think they know who back is they just don't WanNa, pay him because they see him as a fourth round pick. A guy that has played well in this career hasn't quite got over the Hump. I don't think they want to pay him if I'm back Prescott I, feel like I'm in a great position to meet the floor. The absolute four is thirty three to thirty five million dollar contract that you can get from some other team after the season. If things don't work out for you here in Dallas, I think a team like Jacksonville. Teams that would need a quarterback was still need a quarterback next year and would be that open market possibly if he doesn't give franchise in the floor to his contract would be that deal that he turned down this season from the cowboys.

"And we'll be on Mondays for at least the next couple of months. So that's all happening coming up the sports reporters. I are friends from project. All right. We're taping this at one thirty on Thursday afternoon. Pacific time the sports reporters are back. Bryan Curtis here in Studio Jason. Gave from the Wall Street Journal is in Brooklyn wearing a hazmat suit. And we're going to talk about a whole bunch of Media topics relating to sports monthly. I wanted to start here. Bryan. Curtis you love trades. I do when there's media traits. That really gets your attention when ESPN EMBASSY REVISITING. An old media trade. That already happened. That gets your attention than Al Michaels. The greatest football boy small-time might be in play. What kind of draft picks can mb CD get you think? I didn't realize I was being moved to the woods. Beat a sports media was kind of this little quiet little corner yeah yeah and this is like the NBA trade deadline. Yeah Yeah and this is as you point out so that the story in the post is it. Al Michaels might be traded from NBC TO ESPN. Yes and he was already traded background. Two thousand five from ESPN TO NBC. I some draft picks and Oswald the lucky rabbit and I have draft compensation down the road some obscure Disney characters to be named later. Yeah this is an incredible story. Yeah Jason Gay. What were your immediate thoughts? And then I'll give you my well. I mean it seems to me. Isn't it sort of part of this? Big Mating dance that is happening amongst the networks now like every one of these networks currently has nfl rights feels that needs to puff out its feathers and preen and dance around like some bird of paradise. Cbs With Tony. Romo deal. What is it ten years one hundred eighty million dollars. Yeah all that is. That's showing love. That is showing field he to the NFL. It's a way of showing. We're very serious about this. My favorite part of his. I really hope they get the NFL deal at CBS. Because if you very weird to give Tony Romo eighteen million dollars a year do the Big Three and the PGA Championship. So this seems to be what this is courtship. I heard that he. There's like an extra year maybe even two extra years that if they lose football and they don't get it he's still getting paid sure so it's like a five year guarantee but they might not have for three years so I will give my Al Michaels theory in a second on why this is happening. We learn this over and over again where these networks think. They have to do these things to win the league over these Luo. We did this when we have the best. If they WANNA give us a super bowl we got improve our nounce teamer. We might not be able to convince him. Brian is in this always about. Hey what was the highest dollar figure? Is there any other reason that the NFL would do anything other than they offered us? More than these people. One million percent or one billion percent so where are these people are falling over themselves trying to improve their Nazi teams? So the way it was explained to me by people who were. Let us say observing the Tony. Romo deal closely was okay. L. Four Networks. So That's ABC or ESPN ABC NBC Fox. Cbs ARE COMING TO THE NFL. And trying to give them a bunch of money in the next couple of months and they want at least a super bowl every three or four years as part of that right and you're not. GonNa get a super bowl because you have al Michaels who Tony Romo but you want to have all your ducks in a row when you walk into that room you don't want to have the NFL GonNa who's GonNa Announce the Games again you know. What is it that Booger Guy? Yeah back yeah I mean I and I don't know how much the NFL actually cares about announcing I'm GONNA say zero. I think it's I think it's a little above your but it's close to zero. Yeah as long as it's not terrible as long as it doesn't insult the NFL right or only test case of knowing that somebody cared was David Stern with ABC when they moved the red stay BC and Brad. Nessler did the first season when it was the spurs nets finals and by all accounts. Stern was like what the fuck is broadcast. He's guys are terrible. Can you get some real announcers? And that led to the Doc rivers Al Michaels combat. Yeah I would say though that maybe Sean McDonough Jon gruden bagging on the refs on Monday night. Football which they kind of did a lot. I think they got the League's attention. So that's part of it. Maybe it's not a name thing Jason. It's more of A. We're giving you this really expertly crafted race car. We want to make sure the driver doesn't hit any of the walls sure. And there's also the internal politics of it right it's like signaling to your company that you are deeply serious about staying in the NFL business. I mean Brian's right there's not a ton of evidence that individual announcers like matter to the NFL. Or even move the needle you know. You have your favorite announcers but the truth is what moves. The needle. Ratings is the matchup period. You saw that with the way that they upgraded Thursday football what moved over to Fox and conversely. You saw what happened when they left crumbs for Monday night. Football and to me. What makes the Michaels Peyton manning thing and it's crazy to talk about this? But but what makes it intriguing? It really clearly signals at Disney wants to upgrade. You know they want You know they've been having these leftovers for awhile now and you know whether it's moving games to ABC which has been talked about Or more playoff games perhaps super bowl or something else they want to move up a notch. Here you don't get Al Michaels and Peyton manning to call jets bengals. You know you just don't and with Romo is pink and say what they want now but they were all in on trying to get Tony. Romo Wong absolute end as like no you. I think their problem is you can only get to a certain number before the other stars you have or like. Hey what about me? You just did this for me now. He's getting that and there's a tipping point I think whereas was CBS. There's no tipping point who had. Cbs is going to be mad. That Tony Romo got that Dan rather than call you know. Hey where's my bump was. I was thinking like the guy the lead in blue bloods. I don't even know it. Cbs Shows Exist Young Sheldon CBS. Let Me Take my dad and see what courtesy we Brian. Isn't it true that the Tony Romo money is effectively the SEC? I mean there is a fan base. That might have reason to be like ha well. I guess that's why the SEC football is not going to be on CBS anymore. Were packaging the NFL at a much higher level or the it was because they lost the sec that they were like. Well I don't think they WANNA lose the SEC. Ever I think he is paying very shrewdly stepped out as one of the better rights deals moves. They made yes on Saturday. What's what matters the SEC game of the week now. I think I think bill's right and you're right Tony Romo to ESPN would have been one of the great talent office headaches of all time. Yeah Miss Stephen. A. Just signed very explicitly to be the highest paid talent at ESPN. And what happens when Romo got one hundred fifty percent of what he made and he's in he's signed like a day ago. And what about Kirk Herbstreet? Who's you know big colleges you know? Maybe I'm not the full Roma but aren't I like a third of a Romo Tavora? David Jacoby just got promoted to four PM. You gotTa Take Care. Take care of them. They just got so many announcers. There would have been an absolute headache for Jimmy Petar. I do think I battle both ways in this. I don't think it matters to the NFL. Who the announcers are ninety nine percent? I think there is that one percent where they had somebody who shitting on the League or shitting on the refs that they're gonNa care other than that. I don't think Roger Goodell cared one iota that Joe Torre Burger were very good last year But I do think if it's the right announcer it really does enhance the game. Like I enjoyed Joe Buck last year. I'm not a huge Aikman guy but when Joe Buck announces a football game I feel better about watching the game. I really enjoyed Nansen Romo and then it would go to Monday night and it was like the sucks. I wish I had better than answers. So it is one of those things you almost notice it more when you don't have it. I think this feeling of control. Isn't it integrate announcer? I'm in good hands Jerry. You feel right now with the announcers because you know that Mark Jones and you be Brown on a Saturday night on. Abc for whatever reason we just don't have enough play by play analyst people. Meanwhile every year. Somebody's retiring. Why isn't Dwayne Wade on the Saturday night? Abc Game What's he doing? So I was going to bring this up. How is the pool this small of available people that you want? I mean al. Michaels was giant starring television. When I was a kid yeah. I'm not young. He did the. Do you believe America's Yes game and wasn't in his twenties bill and I were young. Yeah Al Michaels was a giant Star Network television and now were warriors later and in. Espn says this is the only possible. Answer Jason How? Many play by play guys. Are there right now that you go oh cool. This guy is announcing for me. You know. There's a handful and I put michaels in that group. I was here I would slightly. And maybe at the top of the group candidly I would disagree slightly with Brian about like the dollars being the ultimate thing because I do feel like we have these. You know. All these rights packages are coming out. There's a collective bargaining agreement negotiation with the NFL. Which is all interwoven. With all this stuff but I do feel like you know. F L ownership. These are older people. Legacy brands still means something to them and it were. I don't know Amazon to come with with an offer which was vastly superior to any of the sort of traditional networks. I think they would think long and hard about taking the top top dollar I really do. I think that they still are traditionalist. In that regard and so when you tell a bunch of seventy five year old owners Al Michaels is coming in. They don't look at it and saying like Oh residual like vapors of old Al Michaels legacy. No they're like Oh al Michaels great huge star and I think that's probably the salary part of this too. Which is that the way to look at this like not media. It's like getting movie stars. It's like you know somebody put above the line. Yeah that's true except you watched the movie because the movie star and at least partly I think Jason's point is exactly right about the streaming companies. But I would say it's because of this. They want their shows on network television. Because everybody can watch it. I don't pass part of its. Yeah then part of it said attachment network. Tv Hey it's CB the NFL on CBS. That feels old school. But it's also when we're having a conversation about how the NBA may be in obscurity. Because they're on cable right. Imagine if the game was on Amazon you know there's a whole generation people to build what it will. How do I get that again and I think like if you look the whole the TV networks right now? This is an existential problem for them. We either have the NFL or we don't exist yet. That is the that is the thing so they are going to be absolutely be able to squeeze them for so much money and if there's a seventeenth week and there's two extra playoff games here even more money. Well and the other thing is I just think matters way more to the networks in the streaming. Now you can have an Amazon. Just do the Mike Bloomberg Bill. Ham spending five hundred million month and I don't really care about the consequences but.

"Cbs over the wrong way. It's it's been sort of noticed by some of the other networks and it's you know it. Their talent negotiations among networks historically has been sort of like you know a gentleman's agreement you know they're very sort of and this turned it into a very You know a player agent type type of type of deal where you just sort of like you have thirty teams and you go and you're trying to find the highest bidder and I think You know a lot of people in the in the business have a raised eyebrow about About one that work really driving up the cost for for other networks. So what so openly? A good point. Here's my last thing on this and and and again I I'll I'LL BE I. I would like you to respond to it just to get your thinking. The the the notion again i. I'm not saying anybody is specifically lying to me when they were sourcing. I just think when the calculus changes when the guys like literally available for you to get like. It's easy to say you wouldn't pay but the second Tony Romo is an actual free agent. And he meets with you and you get excited. The world changes. So here's all I would have to say John IF ESPN is willing to pay. Mike Greenberg six million bucks and I understand. This is John Skipper and if he SPN's willing to pay Stephen Smith whatever five six seven million dollars or we're actually take that back. I'm wrong about the Sea Bass Stephen a Smith ten million dollars. Whatever new contract is is Tony? Romo front a product in Monday night football that gets twelve or thirteen million more viewers than get up. So how on Earth if you'RE ESPN. Would you not think about pushing those dollar figures when you're already paying somebody six million dollars? I mean what is another eleven million per year at that point for what is far and away your most important property. I just that's where I I think people at. Espn or not being honest. Because the the impact of Monday night football to get twenty Romo would be so exponentially profound because I think it would put you in a different stratosphere with the NFL it could change your entire NFL portfolio. If you end up getting a super bowl or if you end up getting better post-season Games. So that's that's the only reason why I sort of shake my head on this and think to myself you can say this is not a free agent but once you actually have the chance to get the guy who has foreign away the most prominent NFL analyst John Madden. I don't I don't know how you wouldn't just pay whatever that money is giving you you pay so much money elsewhere. You know Richard about twenty years ago. I was covering the cable industry and I went to a press conference at the Federal Communications Commission. Because they're getting ready to auction off a bunch of new spectrum and and Commissions said that they were going to get so much more money than anybody in industry believed and to sort of explain what was happening. You know during this press conference of the guy held up a hundred dollar bill. And he said he's going to auction off among the reporters that one hundred dollars bill and it started like fifty. They quickly went up to ninety eventually. Went to ninety nine dollars ninety nine cents and then somebody was just like they wanted to win so somebody bid hundred and two dollars and they did hundred five dollars. And and that's the whole point is like the COMP. I'll never forget that either the competition to win when you're bidding even if it doesn't make that much Make any sense is as real and so I think if if Tony Romo were to get on the open market and if. Espn thought that they had a legitimate shot. I'm sure I could see that. I could see that going up a whole lot more. It's a great story I love that. Are you hit on something? That's really interesting to me that I tried to hit on in my Piece athletic published. Today we're taking this on Monday morning and that was like what is the impact on the marketplace so I talked to a number of agents who John Not surprisingly were more pushing that this is going to change the marketplace and that works networks can't necessarily Cry Cry Proverty. I talked to some management people. Though did think that it would. It would have an impact so let me ask you this because this is really a twofold question one. What what kind of impact do you think Romo has now on the market for? Nfl analyst and sort of part two is is that impact only for the Aikman level collins worth level or could Romo's numbers float down to make like the number five nfl analyst on some network. You know make much more money now because there's now a ceiling that's been set by Tony. Romo my opinion is that if there is any kind of knock on effect. It's only for the level talent and that's V at the number. Five guy. Fawkes might even find his money Go down or rather the guy did. Cbs might find his money. Go down because it's all being committed Toronto but unlike a lot of the agents I don't I think this is an aberration. I think that The the the way for salaries to continue to go up you need to have somebody bidding for those services and for Tony. Romo it just so happened that ESPN went through like you said two straight years of having. It's a Monday night football. Just kinda pilloried. On Line They needed to get better They wanted to get better sort of like a perfect storm for Tony Romo when Chris Collins Worth when his Contract COMES UP. You know will there be another bitter where he could actually walk away from From NBC to take that bit. I suggest probably not almost certainly not and and I just don't see I don't see I think Troy Aikman and Chris Collins worth will agitate for more money or there rather their their agents Klochkova agitate for more money and they get a little bit of a bounce here but the Tony. Romo's an aberration. He caught the perfect storm on this. Yeah I tend agree with you. I think The the issue let's say collins worth or Aikman You know assuming those two guys want to continue on and the businesses. There's not going to be I I don't think they're gonNA come up at the time where there's this kind of Storyline for ESPN. I mean presumably. Espn is going to find an analyst in the next couple of months. Whether it'll be you know breaking the Bank. On their dream guy would be paid. Manning hasn't shown yet that he has any interest in that you know whether they get somebody else you know there's GonNa be somebody there like so your point is we'll take him. I will say Richard Fox just had the super bowl if troy aikman got hit by a bus and couldn't do the the the the Super Bowl for Fox. Who would they have turned to the? I don't believe that they have anybody else on their roster who is a quote Unquote Super Bowl level type analyst and in fact. I think that that he level analysts we mentioned like Aikman Collins Worth Romo. You can't go a whole lot deeper than that right now there are. There's a lot of other people with potential group res Or You know you mentioned peyton manning as well but but right now it's a very short bench where for NFL analyst. I think yeah I do. The one thing on that John is I always think that is a little overrated In that You know like I. I'm of the belief that you don't necessarily need the biggest name out there. Like Kurt Warner was certainly capable of being an analyst. I think Louis Riddick is I like Charles Davis I you know I. I don't think Fox GonNa push him to number one but he would. He would certainly do a fine job as their top malls. But I know what you're saying that the reality of the NFL networks is that top analysts as a general rule not only has to be really really good but there is a star component to that so to take your question. I think we'll probably be looking at whoever. The next iteration is coming off the field. You know like drew brees strikes me as You know a very very good candidate for that. I Know Fox is really High Greg Olsen but you know I don't think Greg Olsen is is is his he'd be a couple years minimum away from you know maybe having a shot at that number one and again remember how unique it was for Tony. Romo to come out of playing and take over the number one and was role. That's never happened. Books Troy Aikman went over to Europe. You Know Pe- people get seasoned before they get better role. I mean th th Tony. Romo was a complete anomaly in terms of that right and actually Even one of the agents who I spoke to pointed out to me that had. Cbs been in a better position with their number two analysts. You Know Right. Now it's fouts You know like someone who is sort of like could be quote unquote heir apparent in. Romo has far less leverage. But they don't have that so you know. Cbs really doesn't have a number one analyst. down the road on its roster. I know they're high on March led excetera. But that's just the reality is they're not gonna put the person They wouldn't have put that person. I don't think in the number one Slot next to Nancy. It's a good question. Joe should play a little fantasy. Football here had Romo left and gone. Espn what do you think? Cbs would have done I think. Cbs would would have camped outside of Peyton Manning's apartment Try Try to convince him To come on board. I think there's a potential I know. Everybody loves drew brees. I think there's potential that they could you know at the kind of money they're talking about to to really kinda convince him to Retire I know he said that he's GonNa play again. But you know as for seventeen million. You know you can do a lot. Not that he would have gotten that But I think there are a lot of options. I don't think that there's one certain plant be which is exactly where he. Spn is right now. I think there's no certain plant be about you. Know How they're going to move forward. Yeah love that you think they meant. He has an apartment as opposed to imagine The Y- There is no plan. B Right now for ESPN. There's there hopefully. We'LL BE PLAN C or D. Although again I will continue to sort of say. I think that they there are people who would be really good Monday night. Football annals including Kurt Warner and Louis Riddick who have Louis Riddick has always been. The Guy Thought would be great at that job but You know there have some decisions to make like in one of the decisions do you sort of roll with. Tessa torn McFarland for another year. If you cannot find that person who really think is going to bring you into the into the new. You know sort of new universe of meteorites deal so they have They got their work cut out for them now. John Neck of the SPN showing the same thing that Fox That that CBS. They need to send a message to the NFL. That you know. They're serious about improving the quality from the truck through the booth of their Monday night. Football which is you know. But they have a an an audience of a couple of hundred. How many ever in NFL OFFICERS? You know that they that they need to convince on that John. You know this you may not but I think our audience would be curious about this. Like how much do you think the? Nfl is involved in like Romo negotiations. When I say involved when do you think? Cbs SORTA GIVES THE NFL. Heads up that they that they have the resign. I don't think Sean McManus David Burner. You know talking to Howard cats and Roger Goodell on a day to day basis. But you know they're they're they're uh they're these hires have an eye towards the NFL offices because they want the NFL to be impressed by them. So do you think the NFL is the NFL's given a heads up at all? Do you think the NFL finds out when we find out I'm pretty certain the NFL how did get the job. I'm pretty certain when when they go through. I'm pretty certain that when they met with the NFL About back in Miami. They announced their intention. You know we have a right to match and we're going to match you know so. I I think that you know I if you talk to anybody at the NFL offices. I think that they were wholly unsurprised by by what was going on. I don't think that they they. I don't think they gave their opinion on whether they should should match. I don't think that they were actually cheering for for one or the other. I just think like you know. They're they're an important partner and they're they're somebody that you know as an important partner somebody that networks sort of clue in on this giant given that the The the news on this broke on February twenty eighth and from everything I understand. That's literally when the contract sort of was done News News broke basically the same day. All this went down. That's a lot of people start talking. That's usually when these leaks happen. But isn't it. I don't Know John? Wouldn't you love to sort of really know the inside story especially from like the? Romo camp of what was being thought. Twenty twenty five twenty six twenty seven because like as we just said earlier you are just a couple of days away from formerly being able to negotiate with ESPN. And I would love to know the sit down with C. A. and and Romo and like how close they really were too not signing if only to see what. Espn would formerly offer. You know those that must last week must have certainly was. I'm sure it crazy we for CBS. But it really must have been a crazy week for the Romo camp. Yeah we've known the number since Friday so you know we're kind of glossing over at a seventeen million dollars for NFL. Analyst is a huge amount of money..

"South Carolina. Stu Gods has been excited here because Lebron keeps doing the things do God says that every once in a while. Lebron will have to remind some people that he's still the best player in the game and these people are peers or the young up and comers. He's averaging thirty ten and ten against Luca trae Young and Zion Williamson and seven one in those games and so he. It seems clear. In retrospect it seems clear that he was just injured last year. And that what happened. Was Those Sixteen Games. They were fine. They were three seat or four seat and then he missed sixteen games and then when he came back there were a number of times you saw him and he didn't look like himself. There have been a couple of times this season. Where he's going up for a dunk and he gets you know he hits the Rim and he's not like he doesn't look the same way that you're used to seeing him look when he's jumper jumping over. You know John Lucas Junior to dunk the ball. He's got better teammates. And I think it was John Lucas third. So is that that that is a fine yet. I mean Lebron used to be the guy to take Matthew Della Vedova to the NBA finals. Or Larry Hughes to the finals and last year. He showed that he's no longer the guy that could lift a bad team to not just the championship. Not even the playoffs. I understand. He was hurt and allegedly battling through that when he came back he didn't play zero dark thirty mode remember and they lost like all the games because he knew them around him because he tried to trade them all publicly so he's not the same kind of player but if you surrounded by the right pieces he's an MVP candidate that's what's happened. He's right back to the top of the sport where it is odd to say because of his age like that's not supposed to happen and I do believe because I've told you a number of times to God's I am old enough to remember how cruel and mean you guys were to Michael Jordan before he won the titles like I'm I remember how much you question him as a ball hog and guy who couldn't win because he was putting up a sixty against Larry Bird in the playoffs and his team was lose it. You didn't even know me then but you knew is doing it. There were so many people doing it and I think we've done it to Lebron like it's actually a very poor reflection on the intellect of the sports fan in terms of being able to appreciate appreciate what feels like unprecedented greatness as it's happening because we bring such judgment to it. I mean we were comparing Michael Jordan. I remember it to Dominique Wilkins. We were saying like you can't win like that right that. He's the reason that he loses in the playoffs isn't because he's got to get tougher anything else now. Think about what he was playing against right. He was playing against total thug ball. The rules were different and so he was just getting He was getting dismantled by the Detroit's of the world. You know how Lebron sort of change the math in winning titles when it came to the Jordan comparisons while one in Cleveland and ending that cities curse means like I don't know like to Jordan rings. Has there ever been a star? That's one at three different places. If he does this Mike if he does this I understand that some people will still do six and four on him but if this year if he can knock out Greek freak and win. Three idols are four titles in three different places. What does it though? I mean I forgot about that because I thought the com- was shack checking pretty close because he got to an NBA finals with Orlando. But that's how you changed Hawaii. All over the map in someone has a fond memory of you. I don't feel like why is ever going to be able to be Lebron. Because he wasn't covered for as weird as it is to say because he was in the finals winning a championship when he was in his early twenties. Ah Koy has done it so quietly that he hasn't gotten the decade long infomercial of here at all times is Lebron James talking about a Taco like every bit of thing that comes out of Lebron James. His mouth becomes a content item in a way. That just doesn't have that kind of thing I think. We'll build the narrative around him if he eliminates Lebron this year especially with that team. 'cause we already started doing it with him as a dozen. Lebron and John and Janas yes. Yes what what if Lebron does it to Hawaii and then Lebron's back Lebron's all the way back and it's his league at thirty five years old. That's the crazy part. That's not just thirty. Five years old thirty five years old with more mileage on the odometer than any thirty five year old has ever had in that sport ever had because of the minute he has played so many postseason minutes that he's basically played an extra season in the postseason international ball to Kobe. Had a lotta miles because when you start getting into the guys that were stars right away from out of high school I mean Kawhi did do it last year to Jaanus and then did it to the warriors it did it. Basically by himself into like the really. You'RE GONNA have to stop doing by Mike by himself like given the raptors warning against GonNa Win Sixty Games this year without him and they were doing that before. I got there and they would always joke in the playoffs. Still it's a different team it. You're saying Bhai himself but they had to all-stars this year they have two people in the All star. I understand but I have my winning one by himself and I have Lebron winning one by himself there. Even I'm not doing anything for Kawai that I wouldn't do for Lebron James Okay but when you look at the second best player that Lebron James had is he going to have had the career that Pascal Siachen is GonNa have Kyrie Irving Kyri. Yeah you better career than Pascal. I think you know that he's going to have that. He probably knew problem. I mean Kyrie's probably GonNa win another title right if you think durant and Kyrie you're GonNa win a title. I don't think well regardless it doesn't matter whether I think they're going to win a title or not you guys think that by the by the time it's done Khyber Kyrie Irving is going to have had a better career. I'm no Kyrie Fan and this year has kind of been a disaster sort of skip a year for for Brooklyn and he's coming off of that Boston mess but let's let's pump the brakes on Siachen. Well how old is he I know. Crm shown like incredible growth by like. I'm not putting him in the Kyri class. And I don't like Harry as a player but come on hold on a second here. Let the outcomes twenty-five years let's talk about this for a second Kyrie's only like twenty six or twenty seven right? Yeah but at twenty five. You're Kinda Kinda who you are even if you're Siaka who was like incredibly wrong when he came into the league I I don't think is going to get that much better. Gary is twenty-seven can you look at the numbers first? Crm This year is the first year where he's allowed to be the center. Piece of a team and the efficiencies of Siaka I understand I. I wonder what you're doing doing a respect for the game like Siaka. This is his first year as an ulcer and he was he was good certainly in stretches down the postseason and his growth has been amazing and Kyrie's on sort of like a downward trajectory but come on cary was I mean second biggest shot in NBA history. Let's Relax. He's twenty three and a half points per game Siaka. Em seven point five rebounds field goal percentage is forty five percent which is actually down from last year. When I was there making the game easier for him so I mean he's out in in terms of numbers but he should be but that's what always happens right. What always happens is when you're star leaves guy who comes in next ends up averaging the twenty-three because someone has to average the twenty three and is efficiency percentages go down because it's easier to stop him when you make the usage rate so high that You wear them out. And he's not getting your primary defender but still it can't be disputed that That the Toronto Raptors are going to win more games this year without Kawhi Leonard Than Kawhi. Leonard is going to win with the clippers. That's that's not. That's not a small thing when you when you're confused by the Toronto a success and you keep going to. Nick nurse can coach and their central player on a on a team. That will probably not make it very deep in the playoffs this year. Either because Boston Milwaukee will probably end up knocking them out but he proved it to his last year. He builds those teams for the postseason. I mean they. They do the maintenance plans over there with the clippers hidden. Paul George haven't really played together all that much considering Georgia's injuries and their nights off. They had the playoffs in mind. They really don't care about the regular season they've won four straight raptors of lost three straight and quite honestly that team out. Paul George and just co why. I not much better than what he had in Toronto last year. Probably even worse and you guys help me with something though because I don't know what it is that you want Toronto to do and I understand that. A BOOT and holzer team One SIXTY PLUS GAMES IN ATLANTA. You didn't trust them. And you shouldn't have because Lebron ends up knocking them out of the playoffs. But can you explain to me what it is that you need to see from Toronto for a t to buy in? If I can't impress you with Toronto winning more Games then coli out. Kawai the season after losing Hawaii. If I can't impress you with that what the hell can impress you with Nothing I seriously I the raptors have to win a title without Kawhi. That'll be impressed. Okay but then but also the warriors have to all get hurt at the same time to make that possible because it's the only reason the raptors one like everything fell apart in golden state in a physical obvious way. It's a shame though it's a shame. They had all those injuries. Because it was headed towards the end of the dynasty all those dynasties and ugly and durant already gave voice saying that he made his decision before the NBA Finals Fair enough. But I mean when you lose clay and you lose Kevin Durant and then you know the next season Steph. Curry is broken. And the Golden State Warriors are among the worst teams in the League. This year draymond green looks useless without the other. Three guys covering goal. I wish I had the ending to like the heat. Run that the warriors had because all their fans can just say We got hurt. And that's what sort of nuked everything when it was probably at its logical end. It seems like in your personal record. Book Dan Kawai did not want to title last year. Let's go my private jet thing going to fuel. I'm just saying you're giving an awful lot of credit and I was amazed his go by his mercenary nature..

I want you to think about how stupid the salary caps are in sports because what just happened with. Romo is what happens when there are no salary caps. I that's how it happens that you get a free market. That's exactly right. Michael dominance if you don't want Promo making more than you you need to collectively bargain. The salary cap the hell out of there. No no going to war across his good Gulflink with his neighbors votes definitely called hello friends with a dollar sign and dollars anymore because Romo what are you. What are you have their own information on the wooden boat? What do you tell me more about this? Tell me as much as you can about the wooden boat. Yeah if you Google expensive wooden boat you'll see what I'm talking about and you immediately realize. Yeah this is probably the type of both that he has. It's something for like a calmer. Water MAY BE A LAKE. Or maybe if he's going through the channels in Venice. Yeah it's not something that you got into the open ocean this is for like a leisurely you know boat ride day something Something that Allows you to drink your Palmer's as you drive as you well know. He has a driver. Obviously Dan you know what it is. It's like the boat from caddyshack that they christen and the bottle of champagne doesn't break a part of the boat breaks. I telling you'd never young kids in the studio. Have no idea what I'm talking about. But you Dan you know what? There is a famous singer and I do think by the way I saw you. Mike Make a face. I do believe we've talked about this before. The verb on a boat is also drive. I know that some people go captain but it is driving a boat. I think that driver though. I think the the verb is too dry any commodore he. He probably doesn't have a common then. Remember an Indiana Jones where he's running away from the people with the Fez hats and jumps into that boat and they're going into the propeller of the cruise ship. That's what we're talking about. Nice Italian leather. Some teak wood. Maybe Mahogany what stews talking about with the with the Christie of the ship and caddyshack. That's sailboats not waiting it. I honestly pictured one of the boats and Gema thrown. I was picturing something with a cannon. Can you tell me billie because I am super curious about all of this? Can you find out what that boat costs? And furthermore as it relates to the Jim Nance Collection. Oh you know who made the Decision Viacom? They're clearing her off the books and make room for Romo. That's what happened. It's a good best aspect I guess. How much but judge Judy makes a one hundred million a year doesn't she? Forty seven million per year twentieth anniversary. We have all these reruns which is gonNa put you in syndication but old episodes and Judy justice is like I gotta reinvent. I got A. I got an evolution me yet. I can't have Romo coming from my throne. "Good for you. Tony Romo Man. He has got. Nfl players who authored. Because Michael Thomas is out here saying that's why we shouldn't sign the new. Cba Agreement no way. The announcer should be making more than ninety percent of the players. But Tony Romo's making more than he made. When he was playing Tony Romo played the highest pain position and made nine million a year now he gets to literally be above it all while judging it all never getting hurt and making twice that remember when Tony. Romo got that Gig and everyone said it was just entitlement. And he didn't deserve to have that job. And how did he retire and get the number one broadcast team and here? We are a few years later as broadcaster. Incredible I mean Jon. Gruden was paid six and a half million dollars a year like this. This is a bidding. War must have broken out because we it leaps somewhere that ESPN was offering fourteen million and those strategic leaks are always interesting. Because it's certainly not coming from the people who are giving the money. That's not where those leaks come from Smith negotiating against an entity that has right of first refusal. That's right Tony. Romo is GONNA make more J. J. Watt Odell Beckham Junior Aaron Rodgers. Patrick Mahomes this season. It's a crazy number and the reason that I find it interesting right beyond marveling at the point that Michael Thomas is making what I want you to understand about all of this when it trickles down into college football and you know that there is so much money around these things that the players aren't getting. Do you understand how much money everyone has to be making off of footfall for Tony? Romo to make more than all the bodies that are colliding in that sport. It's not even hard for CBS to do that hard for ESPN to do that. And this is about someone. Stugotz that I'm telling you as great as I think he is. I don't think he moves the needle. I don't think the people would go from CBS TO ESPN to watch a game. Just because of Tony Romo like. I don't think there would be you know what would improve Monday night. Football's ratings is. We had a flex package that allowed us to put the best football games on there and it wouldn't matter if you had to camel sitting in the boot what. Tony Romo does is enhance a product. That is early great. I agree with you that I'm not going to rush to a game just because Tony. Romo is calling that game but he does enhance a product that you don't have to pay him like that. It's a prestigious layer. You do have to pay him like that if someone else is willing to pay him like. I know what I'm saying is no one has to pay him like that. Espn wanted to make a prestige higher. They because tested torn booker. Whatever it is that you think of them. That doesn't make the splash. Tony Romo makes by ending up as part of your broadcast team. You you immediately bolster your broadcast team by having Tony. Romo be a part of it but not in a way that's going to increase the number. Cbs's that CBS says we can't lose him to ESPN and CBS ends up offering three million dollars more per year than the initial offer motion to have two camels in the booth. Seriously the the ratings are going to sort of bear route that you're going to save a lot of money Tony Romo probably gets you more viewers than to Campbell's but how many more viewers if you put it on the Pole Guillermo at Lebatardshow. Does Tony Romo gets you more viewers on an NFL football game that you want to watch then two camels. Put them near the sideline. They're both wearing cute at you. Hear their noises. Whatever THEY MAY BE? I think that would get old after a couple of games. I think it would be now. You're GONNA switch animals. You can't just do camels every week. Good the camels interrupt gymnasts because that's one of the great qualities of Tony Romo. Oh you know Nancy's looking at this contract like wait a minute wait a minute. How much dance making Nance makes plenty? Lance has a recreation of Pebble Beach in his backyard clothing line. Nancy Nancy Nancy Carlin for you have a clothing line. Yeah yeah big with now. I think its vineyard vines. Oh Yeah owns vineyard now. No he has a clothing line with vineyard vines. Is that on the company? Although I wouldn't surprise me if he has a small percentage binds presents the Jim nance collection. And we're getting an answer season. I mean this is it. This is where is it? Wow on the heels of this contract Nancy's going to show you okay. All Right Tradition. Unlike any other okay. I'M GONNA give my necktie to some nineteen year old. Kid You gotTa Love Me. Hold on put it on the poll. Guillermo is Jim Nance beside himself with rage right now because Nancy saying to himself. Wait a minute. Romo doesn't have to March madness. Romo doesn't have to give anybody tied at the master's Romo just doing football. Basically it's not. I want you to keep in mind. They just gave Romo seventeen million dollars a year in a season. That doesn't have sixteen weeks or that has only sixteen weeks and then the playoffs like he doesn't. He's got half the year off. I am reading here that Jim has is making five million a year. How I am head outside of. Cbs and he is a flame thrower. And it's burning all the plastic. They keep on the furniture. They're like he's just throwing flames there at Les Moonves. I'm sure there's some sort of center. Oh that's right. He got me to paper and my bad. I forgot I just always associated old. Cbs With less mood. I can't say read a paper anymore. Your kids out there. Why would I read of what paper? What's Paper Moon? Says No longer there. The plastic on the furniture still. That's correct yes that is correct. My bad forgetting that he was one of those who got Me Too and scurrying scrambled out the door. What's the Modern Day Quinlan of read the paper? I check twitter checking Internet check. You don't refer to as the Internet that yeah. Dan doesn't know who is he doesn't know who. Ceo and I sent him like photos of Co. who's got a look that sort of iconic because she shields her face she's had all these huge music videos because they're super creative Sheila buff was in one great choreography. And you don't know who. Well he's making good movie he's back. Nobody was hitchhiking. The last we heard of him making anyone's car isn't quite. The roller coaster was shot. But he's back now. He is making artful good well reviewed movies. He was for a while. They're going a bit crazy where he had descended into the the Wall Street World While trying to character act on something and you know whatever the vice has got a hold of him for a while but he He's actually making creative artistic choices that stretch his range Acting and the only reason that I'm saying all this to camouflage the fact that I don't know who she's maybe like one of her last album cycle one of the biggest pop acts in the world is pop music. I'm very surprised but you think I'm listening to a lot of pop music. You think I'd be listening unavoidable. You didn't hear Chandelier Aliens Avoidable. I mean what do you listen to a lot of old blues? My Guy is thank you Roy. I'm glad I have an an ally you heard the same coke at my wedding Yeah Yeah Yeah Definitely I. Didn't you saw the band at my wedding? I'd miss that you didn't either. Laseyette is guessing. If you come up on his computer he tells me wrong look. I'm having password issues this morning so I can't get lost and say yes I can't even get in. I saw him. I saw sausage fingers frantically making their way along the but then every minute is all. This me doesn't know his Password. Any he's he's got. He got trapped there. I know the old password reset it to a new password because the password is expired. Michael Need you during the break. A Band I've lived with him so long in our marriage that I can sort of feel when he's cheating on stuff like I just. I felt he was doing something over there that he shouldn't have been and I didn't do the math immediately on what it was and then of course. It's it's to mass that he didn't want all of your eyes of judgement. Were raining down on me to end up on him. What was going to happen was he would google it if he'd Neil the spelling on the other three letters but it's always an adventure him the CIA keeps going. "In Dallas Cowboys Legendary quarterback Tony Romo the corona man himself Tony. How're you doing? Doing good uh joined myself getting ready for football season here. So what's it like to be working with corona again. Because I understand it you you enjoy a corona I'm I'm quite a lot Well I do whenever I sit down and watch a game you know I always you know back being a fan. There's there's an football game or something you'd have a corona and I ended up partnering with them last year and we did Rona. You Know Game Day hotline and you can call in and hear me Talks fantasy football tips. PEP talks teams. A lot of silliness all that you know not entirely sure is completely kosher for me to talk about right now. The great working so you mentioned tips and things like that people can call right and they can hear you at believe. The number is one eight. Four four nine corona it's a lot like the neckline my Sharon Hey they may have done that on purpose. I don't know that marketing team. There's pretty much yeah you can call and basically you you know I went through a ton of stuff talking about different things so you call in. I think you're here some fantasy football tips football like I said some probably me being a little Elliott Times but It's been great. You mentioned being seal. You mentioned Thursday night football minute ago. I believe it was your first year in the booth I think your wife might have shared this on instagram of video of you. kind of warming up to I think it was something about this. There was one song that you would just kinda warming up to. Is that kind of a pre game tradition of yours in the booth. Maybe just because I know Ahmadou radio show or something like that. I like to you know while I'm driving. They're Kinda sing and in one of my voice though. Is that something you do. Yeah actually that is usually it said that is a two part reason. Why one you know I get the voice going a little bit? Just 'cause you know I've got a terrible voice. That's you gotTa do the best you can. That's one and the second part is because it's really fun to sing and listen to the music you I can make everyone listen to it around you so those are the two reasons warm up with do you You've mentioned this before and I'm really curious about this aspect to your job. Now you've talked not about necessarily the nineteen eighty six masters yes And everything that was great about that but the nineteen ninety eight masters. And you've you've talked before about how you got home from Church I believe and you turned on the TV in this day and age where you couldn't just track what was happening on the internet or on twitter. Whatever and your booze may Jim nance comes in and says you're not gonNA believe what's happening and I've always is felt people? They identify major sports moments. With what the broadcaster said at the time. So what's it like to be in that position. Now you're at a point in your career what you call the Super Super Bowl people will remember the words you say with these great sports events forever. I appreciate you saying that I mean you hit it on the head. I can still remember that moment. Omit clear as day. You know you wait to that. Telecast comes on the masters you know wouldn't come on at nine. AM It'd come out like eleven or one or something and and the first thing when they came on was you know I knew Jack Nicholas was behind by five starting the day and he's fifty eight years old. I was always a Jack Nicklaus fan and I was like he can't win. There's no no way but I'm like but I'm rooting for him. In nineteen sixty did it and he gets on Aaron Nance opens the telecast with. You're not gonNA believe what you're about to see and boom they go right to Nicholas and I just hit the ceiling. I mean I was so excited spurt yet to Birdie at Ford and I think that's part of the reason why I think I really enjoy the job because just being at home knowing that you can make someone's experience better and Really make it. You know enjoyable. I guess you could say I want you to have fun. I want you to like maybe learn. Maybe get inside the game a little bit. And that's that's enjoyable for me to try and produce that that's good perspective. What was that like this year with the master's I mean you know not that you met Jim Nance when you guys became partners but you're you're behind the ropes Naso when you're watching something like Tiger winning the masters knowing Jim and being good pals I mean is it a completely different experience than it was in eighty six or ninety eight or whatever you WANNA use? Yeah it is and I mean just you know the tiger winning just the emotional emotional aspect of you know Jim my friend Tiger just these guys winning it and me being so happy and proud for them you know for Nance one of his you know. Greatest things he's ever done in broadcasting be that that masters and you know I don't know exactly ranks but it's got to be way up there for him. It's not at the top and and I think you know for tiger. It's going to be the exact same thing and you know just seeing that unfold like that. I mean that's why we love sports. You just can't predict something like that was going to happen and it makes it like a movie. Sure I think that's all said and I think that that's why people really enjoy your broadcast ask. That energy comes across and that's necessary in football in a way that's different from other sports of the Games you've called so far excluding playoff games and obviously the super bowl. What's your favorite No playoff games no super bowl right because those are a little different. You know the magnitude of it. It all kind of adds to the moment. Yeah that's true. I mean maybe the first one the first game you ever did it just it was so new and raw and everything was great. I mean but the problem is that I've had so many I can remember. Chiefs Raiders Game. There's like four penalties on the final play. Royal Time expired You know to your so. That was just incredible. Finished that game. You know that was really enjoyable to Thanksgiving game doing in Dallas. Coming back home. I mean that was really enjoyable. I mean there's a lot of different moments patriots steelers. Sheriff came down to the white here. I mean those games so there's a lot of you mentioned coming back home and obviously a lot's happened with your buddy Jason witten wooden coming out of retirement. Do you give them any crab. Just like dude. I narrated the video for you know what I mean. I'M NOT GONNA do a second one no now I didn't give you know. He just has that issue and he can still play. And so he's going to be Jason Witten. I think it's GonNa be fun just as a fan watching him go out there. And and Get out there. Run Y option to move James. You know I think that you're going to see the same guy absolutely What are your expectations as somebody who studied the game? I'm and far more cerebral way over the last couple of years of Kellen Moore. I mean you guys shed some time together in the cowboys quarterback. What are your expectations for him as the cowboys offensive coordinator season yeah? I think he'll do a good job I think. He's you know a smart intelligent. You know person who's GonNa try and and us you know the skill set of the people. He hasn't the team I mean he's GonNa try and move cooper around and give him the ball. I think he's going to try. And and the Ball Austin Zeke. I I think the system still going to be the same system. It's been for a long time. I just think they're just see a few wrinkles here and there sprinkled in but I. I don't know that you're going to see some brand new offense the way it looks sure. I think that that's fair. I mean obviously You know something's changing some things. Don't considering your time in the booth what what have you learned most that. You didn't learn from being a quarterback Well I think I learned I mean for me. The team aspect of this is just like a sport. It's just a small team but it's like I mean our team all has to phone work together. Everyone's do their job at a high level for it to be successful and I think I didn't realize coming in. Just how many people you know really allow this this broadcast to Be a good one and be successful. And so that's been enjoyable to get to know almost have your second team where you're on the road you're with almost the second pseudo family here. I'm just lucky because I really like everybody in really fun. What have you done this offseason? But isn't football related isn't Gafa eventually been on the course. Maybe something you watched on Netflix. How'd you how'd you relax Yeah I think how my dad add basically. That's pretty much all the time that I have. It's golfing announcing that. Basically just you know playing with my kids. I got three young boys seven five and coming up onto here. You're so I think that's basically what I do. It's enjoyable as far as I've watched recently There's this great documentary called in search of greatness. It miss that I thought they did a great job describing about you know how some of these people have done it so I guess that would be a recent one log. Put It on my list you. You're doing a lot of pep talks with corona and I'm curious what wouldn't mind do you give rj pep talk. What would it be any facet of life that I could in any moment of of my life in the future? Lean back on okay. I needed full this up on my phone because Tony said this. The number one thing is yes. Better love what you do and I think at the end of the day better have a coronal. Let's just think about it. I think that's good. I think that's pretty again. Just go out there and I think easiest way it's so cliche but it is true you know life is enjoyable for me right now simply because I do enjoy the things that I get to do with my time and that's one of the hardest things in life is to find time to do the things you enjoy but you can find a way to do it. It's really a.

If steph put in the time that the Tony did that steph would be Tony did much bounty is do we sort of saying if Steph had that kind of time staff could compete on the Korn ferry tour but like right now no yeah but I'm not saying right now. I'm saying equal equal time warming up preparing ring for ten matches. I'm taking Steph curry ten times out of ten and I'll need you to be with me. 'cause fill back me up. Oh well gosh and that I mean what do I I know. What does he know what he ain't got to resume but doesn't matter? He's a degenerate gambler hanging out his matter yes. Sun Devil Sticks ghosted news stick together gather listened not if they're calling each other degenerate game. We take pride in that way we had to remove. Maybe six hundred ten now because we can hypothe- we could make this Y. I'll tell and I'll tell you why and this is the difference between why Tony is struggling now where he is now and something that is going to be difficult to fix in the future this hobby yeah go ahead. It's it's the short game his short game under pressure is not good. It's just not football booth and not a short game under pressure is phenomenal now. Where do you stand. Michael Collins the caddy caddy in the beginning stood at one spot and switched the way that I felt Wallo was caddying and has stayed on that side since then for reason like I here's the thing all of those who will what's the side. The side is I love the fact that like Tony Romo got a sponsor's answers invitation to play. I love the fact that Steph Curry got the sponsor's invitation to go play on the web dot COM event or very served out a korn-ferry tore. I I love when celebrities like that who have legit game now. I was not a fan Dan of when Jerry Rice teed it up as bro and then shot eighty one and then declared himself using the laser during the event like because you're going on one of your your Michael Collins Tangent here and I just wasn't a fan of high show where use Promo thing. I'm all for it you are offered. I don't I didn't have that. I had you as being the the okay now. There's two parts of this one. I think a guy like Tony Romo is good for the sport name. Recognition Tony Tony Romo put golf on sportscenter on a Thursday when there was football Xi's enough said nuff said yeah but what about your you talking to both sides your mouth of this kind of thing no not okay. Where are you really because me the the guy that says some of these tournaments are pointless which I still believe that they are you throw at me. The all wear these guys gotta get. They're playing opportunities where they get their okay. We'll tell you taking that from a guy. That's worked at ASA AUTO NOT NO. He's don't say that you are spreading something that is very false and a narrative that a lot of people pick up. That's a lie you can say. He is not taking a spot. He does not have one of the one hundred and forty four starting spots there so he's one forty five no A. sponsored look if you put the Matt Berry. PGA Asia tour event on and you put up six million dollars right yeah to be the title sponsor the title sponsor you get anywhere where between four to six completely unrestricted independent of the one forty four correct correct great good stuff that you're not taking a plane opportunity away from someone and it is not the job of the tournament to go. Let's see we'll just pick number. One forty five one forty six no the job of the tournament and the tournament director is. Who can I bring in here. It's going to get the most attention attention who sell tickets Tony. Thank you know look eyeballs i. I I hear my argument. When I hear from mini tour guys like that's just ridiculous they would do so shut up play better. Have you ever said this TV tough-guy. Yes no you haven't yes. I I had gone to crazy arguments on social media really yes yes so now you know. I had my opportunity. No you wouldn't because because you've already had your opportunity and you choke it away okay but in the Gulf sense what's Romo done to deserve it not what in UN that's not not what they'd sponsor's invitation is four four would have you done. Here's what Romo's done for golf. You WanNa know what Romo did Romo Got Golf on Sportscenter Arts Center. Is John Smith GonNa do that. No I love Smiley Kaufman but if Smiley Kaufman had gotten a sponsor's invitation Asian to play in Safeway. Would I have stayed there Thursday and Friday. Hell No to be fair. You were there to coverged Phil. I was scheduled to leave on in Wednesday night and then Romo is flirting with the cut and next thing I knew hey. Can you just stay Thursday. Do everything on your own equipment. I'm like Yeah Cou. Oh they said the TV crew they said the crew home and I did everything as a one man band which which you always should shut up in crew. What can we're GONNA sound guys awesome. Should you should never have a sound guy but God I make. It sounds all my goodness yeah but see here's the day after Thursday when Romo was done. There was all kinds of stuff going on like Yo. He makes the cut. We're sending the TV crew back. Yeah you know why you're talking about. This is Saturday college football and Sunday. NFL and we're going to now. Don't tell me you you know why Jingle Heimer Schmidt is bringing that heat now Yari you know why this was going on because it was a nothing tournament and all of a sudden nothing tournament ornament got a little bit of attention. That's it we are don't don't pivot here. Here's what we're talking about. We are talking about why someone like. Tony Romo gets the sponsor's invitation as opposed to Johnny Chop over there who didn't make it through the Monday qualifier or didn't didn't play good enough to get onto the PGA tour Atlanta. We have three was the first alternate who is Joe. Joe's one of my friends he's an amazing horse stories fantastic would he have been a better sponsor's invitation and Tony Romo here no no and I say that to his face I I love the guy to death but he is not he should not have gotten a sponsor invitation over Tony Romo because he has PG tour experience and has made cuts. Sorry so just so you're admitting as long as you admit that Romo is a hired sideshow. He's a hired sideshow who has game. I have made the cut. I'm not saying I'm not saying he doesn't have game. He's got game for other tournaments other than PGA tournament no he has gained for the the PGA Tour Dude. You don't shoot two under par two. PGA Tour von on any real round unless you have PGA tour game sorry now I don't do I. I agree but he didn't do it. He did it one round and then he blew up. That's one more than he's done it before. And oh by the way can we just. I don't know go check it do do like Ted Potter coup because that is one on the PGA tour but you go back and check his first year on core korn-ferry torn now whatever it was then this dude missed every cut he put himself into like twenty in a row twenty cuts in a row. He missed so you're going to say. He ain't got game either. Oh all right. This would all say that about Tony Romo. Oh my God you're GonNa Give Your Eagles putter back. What is your deep like wooded Romo duty. You get this infatuation watching him. Shoot two under par on Thursday completely changed how I see you. Don't go all right so you don't like. We've all had that magical around. You don't believe that was his Nah. Nah -cause if you do if you do that once you can do it again and it's not like seventies the lowest score he's ever put up there. You know what I mean so now it's all what is every everything that we do everything that athletes do is all about getting comfortable being uncomfortable so tony had never shot two under par in a PGA tour of his clever never even sniffed it so guess what do goes out and does it and on Friday never been in this situation before and feels a a uncomfortable level. He's never felt before I in a two player. Would've what correct welcome to what every. PGA Tour pro has gone through at some point point at some level in some event. Every tour player has gone through. Every tour player has at one time probably shot sixty five or sixty four even sixty sixty three in the tournament and now trying to follow it up. Most guys don't the first time they do it. Most guys don't but that's their uncomfortable so seeing I'm Tony do this. It just made me go. Wow it's seen. Tony made you fall in love now man because don't forget. I always go back to if if it's Tony and Stephanie. PGA Tour going toe to toe. I'm taking Steph. Do all of your friends know how many allegiances you have yes. Yes they all here this. They all have heard me say this this. Is You know me better than any. You know me better than almost everybody you know there. There's nothing that I will say here that I won't say in front of someone. That's very true so all of my guys when I talked to all these dudes remember it was me who was telling Dowie Van Wall when he was like them break seventy nine. I'M GONNA eat my golf bag and I was like Dowie Brr Brr. Okay calm down here dude 'cause I'm recording this like and I'm GonNa. Put this out there like you. Don't want to say that this do. I'm telling you I've seen this guy's game. You don't understand and yeah he got it. Okay art stupid and now he still hasn't eaten the front panel of Golf Bag. Yet left led to digest the realistic. I know but he just even faked one like you at least got to eat some leather. Do have a lie so we we are going to pivot off your Romo man crush stop. You look your bro Guy. You're the freaking now one of their member at Tile Brand Jed read to ever forget bread and look. I showed L. Dunkin. My My sportscenter co anchor. I made a joke on air care about Phil being a ripped athlete now. She didn't believe like laughed at me on hairs. During commercial break I showed her picture and she couldn't believe it all you saw it up close and personal holy cow. Two students got the twelve pack. It's a what what is what secrets did feel give you. He's not eaten. What do you mean not beaten shifted. What do you mean that eating like. He goes on five day six day. Fast now remember. I told you how Kelly slater wanted me to ten day. Phil did a six day so the first time he did..

"But before Christmas Darren Woodson Dallas Cowboys ring of honor member should be hall of fame safety fantastic player. There Woodson was certainly for the Cowboys now, obviously, analyzed for SPN. Darren Woodson is somebody whoever knows during Woodson was on Iran Silla show before Christmas in fact before the Cowboys even beat the buccaneers this kind of flew under the radar. Nobody really heard it. I guess and Barron Woodson had some very interesting comments when it came to deck Prescott and Tony Romo so to set the stage ryen russillo. And during with excuse me, we're talking. About the potential of Jerry Jones and the Cowboys paying that Prescott as we all know Daggs eligible for contract extension in the offseason. So Darren what's was talking about. How he offers his opinions Jerry excetera things like that. And endurance said that he believes that you have to pay him. He talked about Dak and he said there are some wards you see with deck. I wish you could play four quarters of just era free football. You're not going to get that with that Prescott. You're not. But what you are bowling to get is a leader of men. You're going to get a guy who this team firmly believes in every player on that football team. I don't care if they're playing the Indianapolis Colts. And they're now by twenty three when he's on the sideline they believe in him. These were there in Woodson's words when it came to Prescott he did come out and say that he was not adak apologised. He was just kind of saying that you know, if that has one quality that is in Santa lead. It is to be a leader of men, and that would have been I think enough to stir the pot a little bit just to go out on. They want to go on a limb. But you're saying that, but then during Woodson added this, and you can read about this eleven dot com. The link is on our Facebook and Twitter as well. So Darom says I can't say the same thing about Tony Romo when he was here a few years ago. I can't say that this team in these players thought. Okay. We'll romo's going to bail us out. Okay. Well, we're down by fourteen romo's going to do this or we're up by fourteen and romo's not going to turn the ball over. No, no, no. They didn't believe. Very very interesting words from during Woodson regarding Tony Romo specifically, exonerated anybody. Doubts that that Chris got leader. That's one thing to top about Prescott leadership abilities is is one whole thing. But to then come around and talk about Tony Romo, not being able to lead a team is very interesting way to spin this. And I don't know. I mean, you know, for what it's worth this conversation taking a whole bunch of different directions. Darren was not saying that one player is better than the other of the heaving one is better than one is more talented than one is more capable of this, etc. Blah, blah, blah, Darren is specifically talking about the perception of the two quarterbacks within the locker room. He's talking about you know. Yeah, I mean in the locker room, they believe in Dag, and he did say it extends beyond the place. It's the coaching staff is the wait staff is the trainers, etc. When it came to Dak Prescott. And so I find it very interesting that he would say that. Romo didn't come in that same level of belief, especially for him to go out and say Tony Romo, you know, down by fourteen was not somebody that had everybody's faith. Everybody's confidence. Everybody believed whatever you wanna call that. However, you wanna qualify that. It's a very interesting thing we talked about this on the seven five, oh, Tony Casillas. An I and he disagreed with Darren for what it was worth. He talked about how Tony Romo obviously had a lot of fourth quarter. Comebacks everybody knows that. And again, I don't think that Darren was necessarily saying that Romo didn't accomplish these things or the dad got his better at them. What Darren is discussing is the perception of these two teams are these two quarterbacks excuse me. And so that is why you know, he said what he said. But it's a very interesting sort of thing, that's very interesting situation. But that's kind of the way it shook out. So you can read more about that belong in the boys dot com, we will be back tomorrow on Saturday..

"I think that an as you pretty well liked joe book takes a ton of junk from ton of people to rico i know i love those guys all i think they do a phenomenal job yet because doing that job well is not easy but the idea of putting in an analytic treatment does a fine job but troy aikman tony romo's what's romo is must listen must watch tv kella commentator good but it's not it's not yeah you're gonna change your mono net tony romo what's the game first of all is based on the entire body of work of all the color commentators and a lot of guys are not as good let's just be real so sure and then when you hear romo predicting plays calling out next level tendencies and telling you what he would have done and and then you just mapping it on roma move the needle for me like i i literally will go here like well first of all i watched a ransom so tough yeah a damn i'm watching red zone so it was weird would tune out of red zone if i knew romo was calling the game find him so he he did pull you it i i mean based on response it seemed like he put a lot of people wanna get good is good is his personality and to your point it was tony romo pulling you in because he was some dynamic personality or pulling you in because he was doing things that were different that have been done before and it's predicting plays and taking your next level it so often the analysis in particular is pretty perfunctory it's pretty no kidding me the first of all a lot of those cats get bogged down by the details they wanna talk about this situation.
