And I mentioned you're gonna be working with Sean McDonough this year Sean I'm a big fan of Sean. I've had him on this podcast. We we had some fun with his famous voice cracks Tell me about working with you know, Sean who's done this for so long has done every sport He's done World Series. He's done the NFL obviously Icon on college football tell me about the season going into it with Sean McDonough on ESPN. Well, I'm really excited I think Sean is just phenomenal. I mean, it's just a complete legend and in some ways, you know, I When you're playing or when you're watching as a fan at least for me, I was almost oblivious to the To the names and the and the faces that were on television Of course, I grew up with you know, watching NFL football as a diehard cowboy fan So I was you know Pat summer all and and listen al Michaels and and all the others that have kind of graced the television screen but I I recognized voices before I recognized names and as soon as I became more aware of this side of The game broadcast as soon as I heard Sean McDonough's like, oh my gosh, I've been listening in my whole life To be able to I've only done one game with him and it was the national championship game and we did the radio call 2021 would have been the year and it was Alabama against Ohio State and I was nervous wreck I mean, I'm going and working with a guy that I've been listening to for 20 years 25 years knowingly And I'm like this guy's a legend I just want to get out of his way like I just don't want to mess this up because I've aspirations maybe one day down the road working with him and He couldn't have been more gracious. He couldn't have been more understanding. I was a little anxious I'd never been on a call for a game of that magnitude Either as far as the radio is concerned, but he was amazing and I'm just so grateful to to him and him Welcoming on to the team and they've been together for a long time and look Todd Blackledge. I've said this For a long time. I think he's the best the best guy doing what we do. I think he's just amazing and I've always looked up to him. I've always really admired how he calls the game and I've always appreciated very much all the things that that he kind of Interjects into the game and and just the perspective that he brings so replacing him is as an impossible feat But I'm gonna do the very best that I possibly can It's a big promotion because the number two team which is which is you and Sean gets to call one of the playoff games Around New Year's when that takes place On TV, so it's a big assignment you guys I should have mentioned at the top You have North Carolina South Carolina for week one and your first game together for the season We talked about Sean you're coming off a season where you work with Joe Tess who also in college football circles is one of those guys that viewers and fans Are big big fans of because of his exciting ways Tell me, you know now that you're moving on here. What was like working with Joe Tessitore in the past Well, I've been really lucky The Joe and and Dave Pash who I was with prior to that are two of my best friends Dave Pash is like my older brother. Like I didn't know anything about anything As it comes to calling a game if not for Dave Pash and Brian Ryder I would not at all ever be in a position to have found any level of success in this profession But they really showed me the ropes and took me under their wing and then three years ago I was fortunate to to be aligned with Joe and What I love so much about Joe is the passion and energy that he calls the game with he lives that Way all the time and the guys bouncing off the walls in the booth in the pregame Hitting me talking to three times a day on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and our week leading up as far as prep is concerned like he consumes college football 24 -7 365 I mean every podcast I do he's listening has comments has critiques has Has his own opinions that he wants to weigh in him. He is just an all -knowing consumer So it was a blast to work with him and we've developed such a close relationship I Joe love and I love Dave and and I love Scotty Matthews our producer last year who is just an amazing amazing person and Kim Belton who worked with us a few years back as Well, so I've been really really lucky to be around people that taught me to do it the way I think is the right way Everyone's got their own way of preparing for a game Everyone has their own way of calling a game and when to when to speak when to lay out But I've been very fortunate to been surrounded by very talented people that have helped me understand the dynamic of How to present a game and I've had Drake great truck support as well to kind of help me Figure out the best way to plan a review or a replay sequence or maybe do some art or some Telestrations things of that nature. So whether it's Joe or the or the truck the last few years with Scotty and Jeff for Dave and Ryder and Ryder's of course can be doing some Monday Night Football games now. It's a super pump for him I've just been very very lucky and and very very fortunate. I think Dave Pash is the most underrated play -by -play guy in He's phenomenal. He's And I love hearing that Joe Tess is Wacky, even when the mics are off before a game. I love hearing that that you know, it's the same energy Let me get I just want to be clear about something because I've messed up with math before on this podcast I I once called Roman Reigns 43 when he was 33, which I still saw what you're 35 I am yes, and you've been doing games for nine years This is year eight. Yes, you're gonna see I told you I would mess it up Okay, I was pretty close to be on I've said seven. So I've messed it up. You're not wrong It's my own once you get going. Yeah, my ultimate point is you started doing TV at 27, which is pretty young I think well, what do you remember back when I mean when you started out? How raw were you? How green were you? Did it take you a long time to get I mean because I think 27 is pretty Young to be doing TV. Well, it's it's really young when your NFL career is a dud But I feel like I didn't play as long in the league as I would have liked if I could have started at 33 after 10 years in the show, I would have been perfectly okay with that as well But I knew very quickly when I was wrapping things up in the league I probably could have grinded out a couple more perhaps But I was kind of looking at through the prism of I can start my next life now With the launch of the SEC Network and be aligned With a company at ESPN that I knew would cultivate and help us figure out how to do television It was the right time to go. I was still under contract with the Bengals when I agreed in principle with ESPN and Inevitably was in studio at first which I thought was a really good way to kind of get my feet wet and Understand just kind of the nuance of television lingo how to read a rundown how to Do the telestrator in the studio and more of a controlled setting? So if we busted something, it's like well, let's re rack it Let's go. Yeah, that was Comforting and and figuring out your cadence and your tone the following year Called a game that year but it was Lamar against Texas A &M a very forgettable game Jimmy if you didn't watch that one I'm not sure how you missed it. Well, I'm a better so I'm sure the line was about 50 So that'll that's all I need to know if it was that match I think you could have laid the points comfortably and come away a winner in that one. It got a little sideways Then the following year kind of had the perfect blend of studio and game by doing the SEC nation show With Joe Tess I might add so already developed a bit of a rapport with him and Kind of got to feel the energy of the crowd and the fact that yes, it's structured to an extent But you also kind of have to play to the audience some a little bit like doing a game It was almost the perfect blend and then in 2016 after a couple of games that I did in 2015 That's when I was given my first booth Alongside Dave Pash and I remember right out of the gate. Our first game was Houston and Oklahoma It was like number 11 against number four and I was a nervous wreck I mean just to complete I'm like, I'm gonna if I screw this up It's the last year my deal like I'll just be out and you know, go do whatever it is I need to do so I was a wreck and was very nervous. How long did it take you to get comfortable? Last year, maybe yeah, really For real I have I have butterflies before the game that are very comparable to when I played Still get them will always get them probably and I hope I do because that's part of what I love so much about doing this Job is that it is as close to being in the action as close to being a coach as close to being a player is any other professions In the industry, so I really enjoy it, but it probably took me. I was remarkably over prepared as Far as my week of prep is concerned all -consuming Totally dialed in I knew everything you need to know about the backup snapper you know to the point where it's like this is just I'm getting 2 % of my pregame prep into the show and it was almost it weighed me down some and I was trying to force things in so I Scaled back a lot over the course of a couple years to the point where I could be more efficient with my preparation Understand the things that I write down and notes that I take what's going to make air what might not what will benefit and allow? Me to have strong opinions on the air, even though it it might not necessarily come out exactly as I write it down I'll have a better fundamental understanding of what this team does and why they do it so I would say as far as my week of prep is concerned took me three years probably and then to get Really really comfortable and just having my voice and knowing when to go when to lay out when to allow the crowd to speak on Your behalf when to allow the players to speak on your behalf and to let my play -by -play guy really run with it I would say probably the last three years when I really started to hit a groove.

The Refiners Furnace
A highlight from UNCLEAN
"Hi, everyone. Good morning. You're welcome to the Refinance Faunus podcast and we are trusting the Lord to help us understand his word. We also trust him to bring so much light to very that aspect of our lives that we are struggling in and then he will cause his face to shine upon us in the name of Jesus. I hope your weekend is going well. I hope that your week was blessed. I hope that all is working out for you for good. And I also want to believe that sincerely you are growing in God daily. I think I've told us early that this is really it's going to be number one, a very deliberate affair. It's going to be an extremely deliberate action. Yes, it has to be extremely consistent. I mean, it has to be so, so, so, so consistent because the process of transformation is never easy. It's not going to be easy. You know, anyone that told you that this was going to be an easy adventure. I think that person lied too. I think I've said this severely, but we are trusting the Lord that truly our lives will make so much meaning to him, even as he is going to help us get rid of our excesses. Yes. Even as he's going to help us get rid of the old man in us. So child of God today, I came to want to talk about a man actually, not Jesus, but a man that truly was a Christian. A man that, you know, represented Christ to to his generation and to his, his best of abilities. And, you know, I just started coming to share the story with us. We'll see how the Lord is going to help us. Okay. Just hope you understand that there is the Gentile and there is the Jew. Okay. We want to look at this thing practically. Okay. Because Jesus Christ was majorly a Jew. He was from the Hebrew background. Salvation as people in the Jewish religion, the Jewish sect as at that time was only believed to have come for the Jewish or the Jews. Okay. Now follow me carefully. Follow me carefully. You see, if you're not a Jew, if you're not from the Jewish tradition, if you're not from the Hebrew sect, you're not supposed to have anything to do with salvation. And I've told us carefully in my previous episodes that, um, when we're talking about salvation to the Hebrew, I mean the average Jewish man, salvation to him before Christ was, um, like, it take over, like a coup d 'etat. Maybe I should use that word. Yes. It was like a coup d 'etat, like a very serious, um, political, you know, governmental, uh, war. When someone is going to come and fight the existing government, take over the government and then make things easy for his followers. That was the mindset because from prophecy, they interpreted the prophecy wrongly. No one had an accurate understanding about what prophecy was. Everyone was, they were just religious. Yes. They were extremely religious. So when Jesus Christ came to the scene, okay, they were like, they were surprised. What is this that you are telling us? Aren't you supposed to start recruiting boys soldiers? You are the Messiah. That's why it was very hard for somebody to believe that, he is the Messiah. How can you be the Messiah? I am a hundred years of age and you call yourself the Messiah. All I have been believing for the past hundred years is that when the Messiah in court will come, the Messiah is going to do what? You know, take over the political government and you have been existing here for maybe two years. You are here for two years and you have been existing. In fact, you are called what you call the carpenters. You have been existing here. You are not doing any thing in regards to what we believe and then you are telling us you are the Messiah. In fact, highest we have seen is you gathering 12 reckless, you know, disappointed, frustrated men. You call them your disciples. How are we supposed to believe you, sir? Amen. So this was, this was, this was just believe, believe me. This was it. This was it. No one was ready to buy into that idea that, ah, Messiah, you are not recruiting boys. We are not in a training for the takeover. It also defeats the Roman empire. If, if I am sure I understand my prophecy, I hope you know that a Jewish, I mean, an average Jewish man was a student of prophecy. Yes. An average Jewish man had a clear understanding of the Torah. I mean, the book of the law. Yes. He had that clear understanding of what Torah was about. That's why you see a child of five years who will be able to recite the calling David, recite Isaiah, recite Jeremiah, recite Ussiah, pay attention and you'll be blessed. You know, that's why sometimes I look at our generation today and, and you know, a Christian will be in trouble and then, and then doesn't have I mean, spiritual backup. I mean, there's no scriptures. There's no word from his spiritual. And do you know that Jesus Christ was only able to communicate with the teachers of the law at the age of 12, because of his background as a Jewish boy. See, it's not magic, but pay attention. Jesus Christ at the age of five, I mean, I hope you know that Joseph, Jesus's father was a devoted Jew. Pay attention and you'll be blessed. And, and he morally, morally, he had put in a lot of energy on Jesus. So it would have been so impossible for a child at the age of 12 pay attention, not to have that communication skills. I mean, this was, it was normal. I mean, believe me, go, go back to your Bible history. Check. Amen. But there's something about Jesus. I think we have this situation all over. There are people you see and something exceptional just comes on them. That was the situation of Jesus. But I tell you the truth that an average Jewish boy, 10, 12, 5, will be able to recite the Torah. Sometimes when you go into what they call it now, the, what do you call it now? The Muslim sect. Yes. You see their young boys able to, now it's just the same situation, but something came upon Jesus that it made him exceptional. Okay. Pay attention and you'll be blessed. Now we are going somewhere. Okay. So the salvation, the redemption, the Messiah talk and prophecy wasn't really what these guys expected. They saw something different. I think I've said this several in my previous episodes. They saw something extremely different from what they have been expecting or what they have been taught to expect. Amen. So when Jesus came and then told them that he is, or not that he is, people started saying, we have made the Messiah. It was really hard for people to believe, especially the teachers of the law. Are you telling me that those guys didn't want salvation, but they were frustrated at what they were seeing. I'm telling the truth. In fact, they will never believe that someone will be coming to contend with their religious knowledge. Oh God, you are the Messiah. What are you doing, arguing with us? Imagine you are telling me that I am an old wine skin, that there's something called a new wine and a new one was, are you following me? Pay attention and you'll be blessed. So it was so strange. I mean, I mean, the whole thing was so strange and, and you know, an average man would not like contention. So they had to fight Jesus back to back because what they knew all their lives, what they have been taught all their life was extremely different from what they were seeing. Amen. So, so, so, uh, when we talk of salvation, salvation was, was major, majorly for the Jews and the Gentiles. I mean, any other person that is not a Jew, that is not from the Hebrew sect was not even supposed to, I mean, enjoy what salvation is because, because, because the idea of the Roman reign has been an existing thing for a very, I mean, a very long time. So if you're not a Jew, you don't understand what it means to be under the cage of the Roman empire. Pay attention and you'll be blessed. So it was Apostle Paul that came and mean with this accurate knowledge of the word of God and by the revelation of the spirit, he was able to expand that Jesus Christ did not only come for the Jew or from the people from the Hebrew background or the Hebrew or the call it now sect that he came for everybody. And then, and then it went, Oh, the Jews or the Gentiles. So it gave an opportunity for, for the Gentiles to also tap into the multitude of the totality of Jesus Christ. Okay. I hope you're fooling me. Anyways, there's a link, there's a link attached to this podcast episode. So if there are questions, please, you send it via the link and then we will, I'll attend to all your questions by the message of God. Okay. So our podcast episode today will be centralized on Cornelius, Peter and the conversion of Gentiles. Okay. Pay attention and you'll be blessed. So our central text will be act chapter 10 from verse one to two, or we are going to read more than that actually, but our emphasis will be acts chapter 10. So, so in regards to these, you know, the disciples and everything in regards to this very scene that I've been trying to expand, many people pay attention. Many people started having revelations. Many people started having revelations. A lot of people also, a lot of people also had, many people had revelations, you know, what, what, what will I say now? This is it. Okay. This is it. Many people have revelations, but, but, um, uniquely a man by the name Cornelius was recorded. Now I, I hope follow me carefully. I don't want to say a lot of things because I know some people are not going to take it kindly. Okay. But, um, while you, you are able to study your scriptures, you should be begging God to, um, help you, help you expand on some things to you. Okay. Now you won't tell me that it was only, um, one man in his entire generation that had a revelation about now don't, don't be, don't be, don't be religious. Don't be, don't be too, um, prophetic or something. Now people kept wondering, I hope, you know, we'll talk about revelation about dreams. Now it comes in different ways. Okay. Um, a light can fall on someone and what you've been struggling to understand for years, you just understanding it in seconds. Now people get to wonder, is this thing real? What is this thing that the Jewish people are talking about? And people get to wonder, and I think peculiarly, okay, peculiarly, God had to use Cornelius because of the popularity of his position. Pay attention. I've told you separately that for everything that the law will do, I've said this in my previous episodes, if it is not to the end that he be glorified, trust me, there is no need of him doing it. In fact, the God I know will not do it. Okay. Okay. Matthew chapter five talks about your light shining and to what end was that light that men will see and what the end result of the totality of what God will ever want to do is what that is glory be seen. Okay. So you cannot tell me that it was only Cornelius. Okay. Just like you telling me that in the 21st century, there is only one man of God that has seen Jesus. No, no, no, no, no. You can't do that. You can't do that to me. Amen. So a lot of people might have had, but, but Cornelius was recorded because of the peculiarity of what God would have or God wanted to do through Cornelius. Okay. So, um, Act of Gospel chapter 10 speaks about a Gentile who was devoted to God, maybe to other Gentiles, but their devotion to God was not as loud as Cornelius. Now the Bible speaking about Noah is that Noah found favor in the sight of the Lord and that, that, that you could see how the Lord picked interest in Noah because of the peculiarity of his genuineness to God. Okay. A lot of people were there. I know some people will come. No, are you, are you right? No, are you accurate? Are you sure? Some people were doubting. Some were hardly denying. I mean, rejecting the other. Some people were considering. Is it, is it right? So at the end, it was only his family that believed in him. Now pay attention and you'll be blessed. Pay attention. So there was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian regiment, a devout man, and one who pay attention, fear God, and with all his household who give arms generously to people and pray to God always consistency. So Caesarea was a predominant, predominated Roman city on the shores of the Mediterranean in Judea. Okay. So it was the headquarters of the Roman governor of the province of Judea. So archaeologists have discovered a stone from a building in Caesarea inscribed with the name Pontius Pilate as actually not necessary. So Cornelius was an officer in the Roman army, a patriotic Jew. Okay. Of that day would materially dislike or even hate him. Now Cornelius was a Roman, an officer in the Roman army. Okay. A high ranking. I mean, very high ranking officer pay attention. Now, I think I've explained this earlier, Jew. Now Jew had nothing to do with Gentiles. So when we are talking about salvation, it is for the Jew and not for the Gentiles, according to all they know. I think I made, I took my time to explain this. Okay. So Cornelius maybe heard about it. I think, I think I've explained it. He might have been contemplating and you know, you know, is this God, is this God they are talking about Jew? How can they, how big God is this? So as a typical Roman, he had been exposed to Roman gods, Jupiter or God's Zeus, Mars, Venus. I mean, these are the, the varieties of the Roman gods. So he had, he had varieties to choose from. He wanted to serve, but the guy was like, come the God of now God. So this is God. So he was contemplating. And I mean, somehow we paid attention to his spirit and then followed. I think if you want to understand this very phrase, you should go back to my podcast episode on wooing of the spirit. I told you in that episode that for every point in life, you wouldn't say that God is not faithful. No, the spirit had blown so fast to the heart of men. But the question is how many people paid attention to the wooing of the spirits? Okay. So Cornelius paid attention. So he might have been contemplating just like the men in the days of Noah. Some people, some people might have gotten the whispers of the spirit listening to this man, but they were still, do you understand me? They were still not paying attention. How many times will the spirit speak to you, sir, ma? And you're still ignorant. You still choose to be ignorant. Pay attention. Is it but found they had been exposed to the enlightened concept of Judaism and they had become devoutly monetized. Okay. So Cornelius was in the category of what the Jew called Godfarers. Okay. So they actually, Cornelius actually feared God. So these were Gentiles who loved the God of Israel. Pay attention. Now they are heard stories. Remember faith commit by what? Hearing. They are heard. So out of hearing their faith, follow me carefully. They were sympathetic to the, to and supportive to the Jewish faith. Yet they stopped short of becoming full Jews in lifestyle and in circumstances. So Jewish people of that time respected and appreciated these God fearing Gentiles, but they could not share their life and homes food with them because they were still in fact Gentiles and not full Jewish convert. Okay. Now, if you're following you understand that I've been saying this in my previous episode, that it's not about saying to a Jewish man, you can't say you fear God. No, no, no. Have you gone through the process of circumcision? Do you, there's a lot of things, a lot of things. I think, I think one time I was watching a movie and I was like, come, it was a Jewish movie. And one guy, what I call them, a zealot. Yes. That's the name. That's the name they call this guy. A zealot wore an apparel that was actually not, I mean, in the context of the Jewish and a Jewish religious leader was condemning. They had to seize it from the zealot. They had to seize the apparel. Now, now it's that serious that these guys pay attention to details. Okay. How, what you eat, what you say, the things you, that's why these guys did not like John the Baptist because I think, calling a Jew, a viper at that time, man, you have committed a sin. Don't worry, let me not bore you with that. So, so, so they couldn't actually share their life because of the peculiarity of what they were. Okay. So even if these guys feared God, but they won't accept that they truly feared God because they're not actually, you know, they are not like them, they are tradition, they are Jewish converts, I mean fully. So because of the way the life and heart of Cornelius is being described, we see a man who obviously had a real relationship with God. Come, come. These guys had a relationship at the time. Now, oh my God, help me. Oh, I don't, I don't expect to deviate because I've not touched what I want to touch, but I want to pay, I want you to pay attention to this again and again. Now, this man had a relationship with God and how was this relationship established? The Bible says that Cornelius prayed to God always. That takes us back to Luke gospel chapter 18 verse 1. To this end, Jesus made a parable that man ought always to pray and not to fail. Now, all Jesus trying to do, to bring man into sync with God. Now, Jesus came that he will, I mean, realign man to God, but for that realignment to be consistent. Prayer has to be constant. Yes. So Cornelius had a lifestyle of what? Praying always. Now check out the lives of men who could pray always, who were always praying to God. Always they had a life with God. So at the same time, he was not part of the mainstream of the Jewish life. So God sends an angel to tell Cornelius to get Peter. Okay. Now, because of the relationship with God, God had to appear maybe to an angel to Cornelius and then, you know, so let's read about, let's read about chapter 10 verse 3 to 6. About the ninth hour of the day, he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, Cornelius. And when he observed him, he was afraid and said, what is it, Lord? So he said to him, your prayers and your harms have come up for a memorial before God. Ah, I love this. Now send men to Joppa and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. He is lodging with Simon a tanner whose house is by the sea. He will tell you what you must do. So we are not told specifically here that Cornelius was praying about this ninth hour. No. But it was the ninth hour. I mean, what you call three o 'clock that this vision came. So this was a customary time of prayer for Jews. So imagine he was observing these things. So also as Cornelius related incidents to Peter in Acts chapter 10 verse 33, he specifically said he was praying at the ninth hour. So we are not actually sure. So this was not a dream nor did an angel physically appear to Cornelius. Okay. This was not a dream and it was not a physical. So this was a vision that came in the mind's eye of Cornelius at the same time. So it was so vivid that Cornelius would later say a man stood beside me in bright clothing. That's Acts chapter 10 verse 30. When you check, you're going to see that. So it was significant that God spoke to Cornelius directly, even calling him by name. It was so significant that Cornelius responded with a healthy fear of the heavenly and the holy. So this shows that Cornelius had a real relationship.

"But one of the things that was kicked around was essentially dissolving the PAC 12 network selling those rights to ESPN and the pax 12 and ACC network sort of share that channel. I would make sense. And then that way you have ACC during the day and then you had the Pacific Northwest and the Bay Area and Phoenix and Salt Lake City and Denver for a fairly big metropolitan area is where suddenly that's now an in footprint cable subscriber fee so that jumps from 20 cents per sub to 95 cents per sub and that's real money. That would make sense. And the ACC network I know was on DirecTV and I know I get it on Fios, so. You get it. They're very well distributed. I think they had there's one big cable system in the northeast that they were struggling with that they got. They got carriage on. The SEC network has been completely distributed since it launched Big Ten network has been very well distributed since its launch. So yeah, that would be a potential solution for the PAC 12, but again, I don't know where the money flows. I don't know how the ACC schools would feel about that. So we'll see what happens. But the facts hole network I would assume is on its way out eventually in the next TV deal. The LongHorn network will get folded into the SEC network. And when Texas joins the SEC and all, so a lot of the cable networks that drove the last round of realignment, a lot of that will be resolved once this all changes. Right. It's pretty wild. I know. It's crazy. The pack's off thing is amazing, but they just haven't, no one's seen them in all these years. I wrote a column earlier this week about Fox rehiring urban Meyer. Of course, Twitter and the Internet being what it is. There are a lot of dopes who misinterpret misinterpret what I wrote. I don't think urban Meyer should be canceled at Fox wants a higher on Fox can hire him if he wants to work there. He can work there. We're allowed to say he has a credibility issue after the last year with the Jaguars and all that stuff.

"I like the big teams I get into it. I watch every Saturday. The impact of USC and UCLA going to the big tent. Now, I personally, I don't understand the big attraction of UCLA, like they haven't been relevant since tri ache men. And there's this theme that they're still relevant across America. I don't see that. USC, I think, is a little more relevant, but I don't think either of them are on the level of the Georgia, Ohio states, Michigan, Notre-Dame, maybe even Texas and Oklahoma. Give me, am I way off on that? USC could be that relevant. If Lincoln Riley could make them good again, they can be on that same level. And represent the West Coast as the power team on the West Coast. UCLA has never really been that. I mean, they have back in the 60s, but they're not that. And but what they are is a pretty uniform or pretty helmet of school that every person in America knows. Everybody's heard of UCLA. And so when you put that helmet next to Michigan state's helmet or Penn State's helmet or Ohio State's helmet or Iowa's helmet and say, here's this game on CBS or NBC. Guess what? People might watch it. Yeah. I have a film that we're going to see a lot of USC UCLA games on the NBC package. Because it's later agreed. Third game. I think you'll get a heavy dose of that. Do you like covering the TV stuff, the media stuff? Yeah, I always have. That's something I've always been interested in because I'm fascinated by how we consume media, how it's changing. I'm a gadget person. So I'm always looking for the new devices and I try out all the new streaming services when they come out. I don't keep them all. I don't necessarily say, stay subscribed to them all. And I'm fascinated about when the tipping point will be when will we be comfortable with a major sports league, mostly on a streaming service. I know the soccer fans are going, well, no, I watch it on peacock now. But I'm talking about any of your major American sports league. Where their main way of seeing it is through

"One of the many reasons I love having you on this podcast and I'm so grateful you come on and you're always a good sport is I can ask you questions that I know I'm not gonna get like an answer out of but you'll give me something. So I'm gonna do it again. We've done it before with this question, but we've got to do it. The Rock Russell mania, everyone thinks it's the dream match. It's in LA this year when I had Jan and I asked you about it once before you said well it's in Texas this year wouldn't it make more sense to do it in LA and then I guess the show young rock on NBC dropped they had a scene where you and rock were younger in your younger days as kids playing around and in the show The Rock says to the Roman Reigns well you probably Joe back then. This is a match enough for the kitchen. It's for Russell mania or something. And that got people buzzing again. So can we get an update? Update is Dwayne's dropping it within his own project. So it's got to be pretty good. It's got to be pretty special. I think that just goes to show the clamoring, you know, the buzz for it, the chatter for it. The wishful thinking. So it's something that he definitely played into within the young rock. Which, as you know, with him, everything is highly strategical. A lot of synergy with everything that he does with the projects that he's guiding and has in mind. So yeah, I would say just based off of that alone, it looks even better than it did last time we spoke. We need it. We need it. There's nothing I don't think any wrestling fan wants more than Roman veins, Roman Reigns versus the rocket WrestleMania. In doing a little research, you have mastered the art of creating t-shirts and merch off of settings. So quick, you know, I mean, the fact that we've got the acknowledge your daddy T-shirt out right now. There's tribal tribal chief shirts, head of the table, greatness on a different level. Needle mover. Wreck everyone and leave. Obviously, there's all the acknowledged. You've mastered, is that you or is that you working in conjunction with the team? How much of that is you doing that? Because it's kind of brilliant that everything ends up that way. So, I mean, it's always going to revert back to the team. I mean, definitely.

I mean, the crowd was kind of batshit that night when you came out and I thought the way it all played out was tremendous too because there's nothing like live TV and you guys probably hate when there's mistakes or something goes sort of but the fact that the mic didn't work for Paul Heyman added another layer I thought to just the awesomeness of that whole thing.

The one I don't have is Paramount plus and then I wanted to watch the real world reunion and of course that's the one I don't have. Agreed, they have they've been airing like the real world rule challenges, right? Right. Which I would definitely those are on TV, I think. I thought that they were on Paramount plus. Maybe. Because I would watch them if they were used to love those shows. But now that they're on Paramount plus and there's a lot of good stuff on Paramount plus, it seems like, but it's just them one will end. Then you have that HBO and showtime and Hulu and ESPN+ and Netflix and peacock. I mean, it's just, you know, Apple TV. It's endless. And it's only gonna get worse. And it seems like 5 bucks a month or 7 bucks a month. At the end of it, you're talking over a $100 a month for all these optimum. Can we get worse? Yeah. Only get worse. "Now, let me just start with this. I love Joe borrow. You asked me, you know, people all the time asking who's my favorite NFL team might say, I don't have a team. I'm at the point where I root for players that I get on teams each year that I like. I've been on the Bengals for two years. I love Joe burrow top three top 5 favorite player of mine. Thought he made a mistake, though, with the quote that came out, I guess, I don't know if it's a new quote or an old quote. I think it's a new quote, but he said, they asked him about playing an arrowhead, and he said, quote, it gets way louder in the SEC than any of these NFL stadiums. I think it might have been better to keep that one under wraps instead of saying that when you own it. Well, here's the thing, I don't know well enough yet. I'm going to get to know him in the coming years a ton as you said. It was a lot of trips to Cincinnati coming up for us, no doubt. But he doesn't care. It's an edge to him. Absolutely. Really attractive, by the way, as far as like, man, this guy's tough. He'll say some things. And he got out of the whole thing about it. We don't want to hear the whole narrative about us being underdogs anymore. He will speak his mind. He's a babyface killer. Kid can really be unflappable in these situations. And I think what he's saying is he's been in a lot of spots before as the villain as the visitor. And it's not going to faze him. But arrowhead, I'm not saying, you know, hey, I have college football, that agree in my background, ton back in the 90s, et cetera, et cetera. But I still can't think of a place. I ever had wins the Guinness world book the record mark with decibel level. It's insanity there. Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, that's the thing. It's going to be fascinating to watch him navigate the chief's arrowhead. This is his real, I mean, yes, last week was a big game, but this is obviously another level. This is not LSU. This is, you know, I think he's got listen, I think the chiefs will win, but I think he's gone. I think he will keep it close. And I think he's they will put points on the board. I don't see this guy getting rattled at all. I think that statement about they don't like the narrative. I'm sure the other thing they don't like right now is this sense that they probably are picking up on the vibe that most of the nation is looking at a little bit like, well, Kansas City is going to go back to the Super Bowl again as if it's a foregone conclusion, which it's not, which Cincinnati just beat Kansas City again, January, a second. And I think there's a lot to be said about that little edge that he'll make a lot out of whether it's the underdog theme or we're being forgotten about. He'll do something with it..

"But just so you know, here are the 6 words nobody ever wants to hear. Will you be on my podcast? And you hit him with that two weeks in a row. He could have said no, this he's got little kids. He's living in Nashville with homes and pebble beach and all these life and he's got a clothing line and all these things and you're asking him two weeks in a row to do your podcast? I know, ridiculous, right? It's ridiculous. The only thing over and above. The only thing worse than asking someone to come on the podcast is when I have to ask someone to listen to the podcast. That's fair. It's just, you know, you gotta just be a total whore on Twitter and it's really bad. It's just mad. That's what clickbait is for. What do we got for clickbait this time? Joe Joe on Troy leaving Fox. Yeah, I haven't talked about it publicly anywhere. I don't know anything. There's nothing to say. I hope he stays. That's it. That's all I got. Now, I will be dead serious here. If I was a real dick and one of these bloggers who do this, I could easily put Joe comments on having Tom Brady as his analyst next year. No, you could. And then you could say, but just hang in there because he's 51 minutes into my podcast. People will be listening. People will be listening. Okay. Joe, I appreciate it. Have a great game. And hopefully you and Troy continue on for many, many, many years. It would be nice. That would be nice. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for saying yes, when I said, can you come on my podcast? I was willing to do it two times in a row. I should at least go on once. If you were calling the Super Bowl, I'd ask you again next week. But I was doing it. Yeah, I'd have to try to fit that in. Yeah. I have two weeks. You have your own podcast. Do you book the guess or do you have a Booker? We don't do guests anymore. Okay. Smart. We got more traction when it was just Oliver Hudson and me with our daddy issues podcast available wherever podcasts are found. There you go. We'll leave it right at that. Let the plug sit. Yeah. Joe, I appreciate it. Take it. All right, buddy, see you. Thanks. All right, joining me first time ever guessed is on two weeks in a row. But after the insanity and arrowhead, I reached out to CBS Jim nantz about talking about it and he was kind enough to say yes and come on this podcast for a second week in a row. Jim, how are you? Hey, I'm honored. What can I say? I have first at something. This is a big deal. I haven't had many first. So I'll put this one on a very short list, okay? I appreciate that. And I have to tell you, so on Sunday, you know, that first game was, you know, you thought the first game was wild enough with the bucks and that furious comeback against the rams and then.

"Well, that story is evolving here early in the week because the clips that I read up until this morning were that if you went online to buy tickets for that game and you checked out after buying your tickets and you had a zip code that was Northern California, they would refund your money and you don't get your tickets. So that got a lot of headlines. Now today I just Troy sent me something that said that that's not the case anymore and the 49er fans are supposed to overwhelm SoFi Stadium even more than we were there. Yeah, you say, you did that game. Give me like what I was never never Jimmy been in a home stadium and that stadium is a 100 out of 100. It's so good. But that day, you know, I talked to Kevin demoff, who's a good friend who's the club president, or whatever his exact title is, I don't know, but he's like, we're going to have our biggest crowd ever at the stadium. And halfway through, I'm like, I was thinking because half of San Francisco is sitting in here and it was a ton of red if the home team of a team that good has to go to silent count at the end of the game as a something's up. More than 50% niners fans at that game? I would say I would say 50 50. Wow. Give or take. Yeah. Now maybe it's 55, 45, but enough where it was like, wow, what is going on? Forty-niners scored touchdown. Place goes crazy. It was an odd sensation at the home stadium of a team that good. I have to say it's a viewer, just as a viewer with no dog in the fight. I hope it's like that again. I think that'll add some intrigue on Sunday. I agree. As a broadcaster, anytime, you know, we've talked before, if I can use crowd noise, I'm going to use it. And I'm not going to try and suppress it. I'm not going to try and fight it. I mean, I have to do my job, and I have to get in there and get out, but if no matter what happens, there's a reaction in that stadium, that makes it way more exciting for us. And I think makes it more exciting for the viewer at home. Yeah. I guess you can admit this. I mean, you could have had Brady Rogers and instead you get this. Is it a let down? I don't know if you want to answer that. No, I don't think it's best if you say it, you know. I don't want to get the 9 earned rams fans pissed at you, but no, my answer to that is we had that last year. And we had that, it would have been the same situation. Except with more fans and Lambo, again, I mean, not having a rooting interest in any of this. It's almost like you can't lose. Because I thought week 18 our week 18 game was one of the most exciting games we've done on a long time. And I think these two teams because they know each other so well, we'll play each other really well. And I think this is going to be an exciting game. Whoever it is, they point me toward it and I get there and do the game, but no, I'm not let down by this at all. All right, that's good. Brady Rogers, though, you know, you get that brings I think a little more of the country, the fringe fan, but there's no doubt..

"Rams and he had the niners and packers stunner. So we have to get into all that. He is Joe buck Joe. How are you? Jimmy, I'm good and you. I'm well, I'm well. It was a great weekend, so hard not to be hard not to be good right now if you're a football fan. That was a fun two days. And for me, personally, not that you're asking, but doing that game Saturday and I get home and then spending Sunday with my wife and my two sons and watching those two games was a blast. So it's kind of fun doing when you have the Sunday game and the Saturday games happen usually you're still cramming and getting ready and doing stuff for your game. But in this case, when it's reversed, you can just kind of relax and watch the games and enjoy it, which, man, you don't have to be a football fan to love what happened this last weekend. Right. And major, you know, I mean, CBS got 42 million for bill's chiefs. You guys got for your game. 37 million, which on a Saturday night is really huge because Saturday is usually a rough night for television ratings. Yeah, and when they're starting to compare it to Olympic broadcast from the 90s, you know that there are a lot of people watching. So the interest is never been more I don't think intense. I don't think the job has ever been more intense and, you know, I've got one more game and then I can turn my brain off. What do you mean by the job has never been more intense? I just think when you do a game for however many millions of people in today's world with social media, you realize that if you step outside of the midline and you and I have talked about it before, but if you step outside the midline or you make a mistake I mean, mistakes happen. It's live TV, but when it does, it's like, oh my God, I called, you know, Travis, Kelsey, Jason, Kelsey, and now I'm the idiot that I'm gonna get stuff hurled at me in the town square. And when you do a game like that, well let me rephrase. You should never do a game like that. You should just let it hang out and just go, but it's becoming harder and harder to do that. Yeah. Well, and now this is different than a Sunday at four 25 only in that it's a stand-alone game so everyone's watching so the critiques are going to be way more. Yeah, legitimately everything that comes out of your mouth. Somebody can say, you're the stupidest person ever because, you know, yeah, it looks like it's first and ten, but, you know, it's really, you just can't get into all that. And so what I tell young people getting involved in broadcasting, which is turn off your social media, find two or three people that you know have your best interest at heart and can be real critics and.

They just sent 6 more pair just open up all it's like mania seasons ready to go. Do you know how many sneakers are in the Roman Reigns or in Roman Reigns closet right now? How many pairs? I mean, just on the shelves alone probably about 75 pairs or so in between. I was expected more. While there's and still boxed and untouched, there's another probably 30 pair that haven't even like been laced up or worn. There's not a crease on them. I could literally just put them back and sell them third party. Do you have a favorite pair? I think the ones the Jordan ones are up there. They're probably number one. I like the Jordan fours as far as the aesthetics of them, but all the way around. I mean, so I wore I went to the zoo with the family twice this year. And the first time I wore the ones and my sons, they had the same, you know, they have them too, so we all kind of match with those guys. And they were comfortable. I mean, we walked, you know, you walked through a zoo and you're walking miles. And I did not have any aches in the world. I was good to go. I wore the 11s on this last trip a couple weeks ago. Once we kinda with that team you almost have to came up with nine others and in the process of that you gotta get people on you. Know some teams. it's a little more problematical. "In the WWE. That is we say what our jobs are. Every day is to put smiles on people's faces all over the globe and we truly believe that and then this time maybe more than any other in in my memory people need those smiles right now more than anything that's WWE executive vice president. Paul Leveque better known as triple h talking about the decision to move forward with this weekend's wrestlemainia thirty six. It's the closest thing to live sports. That's happened in a wild but with no fans permitted the arena and concerns over the safety of the wrestlers and staff. What will the showcase of the immortals look like in the age of Corona virus? I mean at times. It's Friday April third this. Espn daily Greg. You're ready to talk wrassling. Damn Right Excel it talking about sports with funny named people trying to punch each other in the face. Greg Luzinski is a senior writer for. Espn you can check out. Lapsed Fan's guide to wrestlemainia on. Espn DOT COM. Yeah actually I wanted to ask you think. Most people know your name from hockey. How long have you been on the Wrestlemainia beat my wrestling a Bona Fides? Go back to when I was a we child watching Hulk Hogan and the more cartoonish W. F. which really sort of capture my heart as you know through the decades there have been times where it's been okay to say a wrestling fan and then sometimes when they've you don't mention it to a lot of people. I think we're in an okay dimension it part of wrestling right now. We're sort of a necessary to mentioned it portion because there's nothing else going on and wrestling is somehow improbably still happening. How is this even occurring? Well the way it's been occurring for the W. E. and their competition. A W which Ariza. Tnt network is that they've been holding shows in empty facilities but for me that means holding their weekly television programs raw and smackdown at the W. E. Performance Center a training facility in Orlando and what they've been doing literally holding it inside of an Empty Gymnasium. I'm the game triple agent. I would like to personally. Welcome you to the. Wwe Performance Center now. This show will be different from anything you've ever seen before. Sit Back Relax. And if you can't forget about the world around you and let. Wwe Do what we do. Let us put a smile on your face to start. That was a little bit awkward because the wrestlers would come out and they would look to the crowd. That wasn't there and they would do all of the usual pantomime they would do to get the fans excited except there was no fans getting excited. You see it doesn't matter if there's ten thousand fans at their zero fans because this is how I I remember that can only way I could describe it as it's like when you're at chucky cheese and the animatronic band starts playing into an empty room. It's still playing. It's still doing. Its own thing. But there's nobody that Iraq to it and that was like the first couple of weeks of this and also they've been utilizing more space around the performance center lake attacks in the parking lot and stuff like that to try to make it feel more than just trying to recreate something inside of an empty room derailed. Me With that chucky cheese analogy this. It's the it's the rock afire explosion ban. Greg get it right. There's nothing better than being in an empty room with the rock afire. Explosion Band and just hearing the gears clunk together. It's jarring but also satisfying so wrestlemainia. Thirty six is happening on Saturday. What was the original plan for the event the original plan was to hold wrestlemainia? Thirty six at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and this was going to be a huge event for those who don't know it's not just simply wrestlemainia. Inside of a stadium. It is an entire city being overrun by. Wwe events you have the Access Fan Festival you have the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony. Where wrestlers of old honored and put into a virtual hall of fame. Physical building doesn't exist quite yet and then also after Wrestlemainia the next day on Monday. It's tradition to hold Monday night raw in that same city so this isn't just simply one event on a on a on a Saturday night for The city of Tampa. It was a whole citywide sort of celebration for wrestling as of March. Third The W. E. and Tampa's mayor said there were no plans to postpone the event the W. E. said look the health safety of our fans and performance of our top priorities. But we remain committed to hosting Wrestlemainia at Raymond. James Stadium fast forward to March twelfth. Now you have Hillsborough County's commissioner less Miller saying he'll probably have to cancel wrestlemainia if the. Wwe doesn't make the decision itself because of the virus pandemic governor Rod Santa's that points that cities and counties should cancel mass gatherings over the next thirty days and so it was becoming a worse than worse. Look for W. E. to keep wrestlemainia scheduled framing Jamie Stadium on March sixteenth. They made the decision not to have upwards of sixty five seventy thousand people come to a stadium during a virus outbreak and instead moved into their performance center in Orlando. It's a two night event April fourth and April Fifth. How has wwe justified or explained their decision to go on with us? Well there's the public explanation and then there's the assumed explanation that the public explanation according to the WWe is that it is for the fans the fans are the lifeblood of the organization it is a panacea the fans to be able to hold this event. It is going to give them some comfort in a time of confusion and trouble. It's also going to be arrested for the performers themselves who you know are looking for some direction or looking for some focus in life during uncertain times. And that's sort of the the public explanation for this. If you know about the wrestling business you know that part of this is the fact that story lines that are going to have their big payoff. At wrestlemainia are a month long process. All the story lines all the action. They all run through. Vince McMahon they are on one track. And they're going to stay on that track through hell or high water. These are storylines narratives that the W has been planning to wrap up in culminate at Wrestlemainia happens every year and then they kind of moved to new stuff after that so from a function process to have wrestlemainia occur and wrap up which are the signature feuds and storylines of their season. If you will was a pretty important thing was there any blowback to all of this. Yeah I think there has been some in the rest in wrestling circles amongst wrestling reporters and and amongst the fans wondering okay. We are looking around the sports world. We're looking around the entertainment world. We're seeing literally every pro league every concert tour Disney on ice everything canceling out of concern about corona virus and yet professional wrestling roles on as a weekly television product so there is a bit of confusion. There're two why this continues while every other facet of sports entertainment seems to have stopped. What about amongst the wrestlers did any of them have reservations about participating in this one particular did so wrestler by the name of Roman reigns one of the bigger stars and WWe had a very highly publicized battle with leukemia? He left in October. Two thousand eighteen returned to WWE IN FEBRUARY. Two thousand nine thousand nine hundred and he's compromised so news started to break recently through some of the quote unquote dirt sheets in wrestling. The ones who report the rumor. Innuendo that Roman reigns was not going to be participating in his scheduled match against Goldberg for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemainia. Wwe basically said hey look. This is understandable situation. The health and safety of our performers paramount Sakiz. The biggest name that we know will not be participating but quite frankly until we see what events they air this weekend we won't know who else may have decided to pull out or had to be quarantined or any of that nature because they're being very clandestine about what the card will actually be the first wrestlemainia. That's taking place over multiple nights. It's also the first wrestlemainia that is going to be completely pretaped. So when did they take this weekend's event and what steps did they take to ensure the safety of the wrestlers in the people working on it? It's been a race against time for me. As I mentioned the performance center is in Orlando Florida Orlando Florida. Recently issued a stay at home order March twenty sixth that really closed out all the essential businesses. Just like we've seen all over the country so the WBZ has been racing. It's time to not only record wrestlemainia matches but also record. Future television matches programming as well as far as the safety of the wrestlers. It is a closed control facility. Stephanie McMahon the daughter of owner Vince McMahon who is the brand manager for WWe said to variety. Recently there's extensive testing screening. When you first come into the facility regardless of whether you're a talent crew member or anyone else if you have a temperature taken and you have a temperature over a hundred point four degrees you're automatically asked to leave also any wrestlers de out of the country or in contact anybody who's been out of the country you're not actually allowed to enter the facility. Either so they are taking some safety measures as far as trying to make sure anyone exhibiting symptoms isn't allowed in the facility or anyone who might have been exposed to corona virus through travel or relationships isn't allowed in the facility. Which is you know what you see from other companies as well but obviously there's no way to be sure without Virus testing whether anybody actually has the center of city so they tape this before the stay at home order. Does that mean this is going to be the last big event like this or is this something they're going to keep on doing? There is a lot of sort of mystery as to how these wrestling organizations are going to continue to keep on doing their thing. I'm not sure what the regulations mean for the performance in Orlando. I don't know if this is GonNa be it for their use facility or not. I can't tell you that. Eighty w their competition with also filming inside of an empty facility in Florida's well and there was news this week that they're gonNA be taking their show to some undisclosed to record matches going forward so I don't know if it's GonNa be a shell game where these companies have to start going to the few places around the country that don't have restrictions in place or what have you. But it's clear from both cases that even though they're putting a bunch of their product in the bag right now in our taping matches and episodes for future use on television. The show apparently is going to go on

Women to close out WrestleMania for first time
"WWE is going to make a little history with wrestlemainia this go around at outta MetLife. Big. It's a big deal. It's a huge deal for the first time ever. It's an all woman main event, it's a three way match, you know, with Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, whose champion were raw women's champions around the rousing shallow flair and Becky Lynch does the freeway match. It would be the main event. Some would call it the final match while from us. Call the main event Seles match. Yeah. So. You know, some folks thought maybe Brock listener. And Seth Rollins will be the main event, it's not universal title. This is for the raw women's championship. And you know. It says a huge deal. This is great not just for the business. It's just for the restaurant business, but it's great for women's wrestling because women's wrestling over the past several years has come such a long way, not just from WWE other companies to and the women aren't just looked at as as it used to be years ago. When it just I candy, he's a legitimate athletes. These are legitimate performance legitimate WB superstars, and these three ladies Shala flare rows and Becky alleged. They're gonna tear it down. It's going to be great. It's going to be great. And to do it at MetLife. Another just we're wrestlemanias. Always at these big big stadiums. Just like the SuperBowl, isn't pack them. Okay. You're gonna have close to eighty thousand people. Okay. At wrestlemainia people from all over WorldCom. And that just makes me so proud like as a former wrestler, a former wrestling broadcaster. You know, how many years it's taken? But it's finally like I was saying during the break to you and Andrew bogusch. Not really awesome. How so many worldwide mainstream sports verticals in sports, broadcasts companies, and and worldwide entertainment companies supporting with w w pro wrestling does on their websites on TV just a little while move says, you know, you're going to have Roman reigns. And all ladies the ladies in the main advantages named ought to be a sports center on ESPN on TV. I mean, so and and they're going to be doing suffered ESPN they did stuff last year too. So I'm just saying I just so it's just so refreshing that it's the the entertainment value is respected by the sports world. And the athleticism is is respected by the bulk of the sports world. So, but this is a huge thing. I mean, this is huge. And it's it's happy for I don't be rude. I'm happy for Charlotte flair and Becky Lynch of these ladies they paid their dues a lot of years. Lot of skin in the game. A lot of. A years. Lots of years, okay before WWE, Rhonda Rousey, she's new to the game. She'd been paid dues and the wrestling business. Great great MMA. She's a UFC hall of Famer. She's a amazing grand champion judoka. Which is a a junior champion. So amazing athlete and she brings massive stop power. But I'm old school wrestling traditionalists, and those two other ladies paid a lot of dues flair and Lynch, but Ronda Rousey is helping draw draw the helps draw the main event, obviously because I'm a stop out. Yes, she does. But not as popular as the other two amongst wrestling fans. No rescue domino. You said and you're right. And the reason is because bring name power put the wrestling fan or fans of Becky Lynn me the reason is because of respect. Yeah. Because they know like I just said the wrestling fan knows that those ladies paid a lot of deuce and Rhonda hasn't. But that's not the main reason she she's her character, which is good. They have for doing this more out of health the fans and a bunch of nerds in their basement. She's going that route which is called cheap. It's easy to do that works. It's fine. So that's helping hurt that helps her as a heel as a bad guy dead girl, get that heat. But the fans also know when she talks on a Mike is just terrible is no juicy. There's no other way to put. She's yes. I'm sorry. She's great, and my disrespecting handing she's done athletically, or what she means in for the WWE attached. But I mean, I just look at I look at the other two is just better overall. When you put everything in place. I, you know, I look at them as better overall women rested. And I just want to say this to like anybody who thinks wrassling. I listen, you watch any stuff leading up to the smack just for example, what Shala flare Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, go on YouTube goal. WBZ's website watch the physicality that's happening with these ladies. Yeah. Okay. Watchhouse fifties kicks and punches are that will watch. And so anybody who thinks any different is a dumb ass. It just doesn't stand and they have this archaic thinking, and it's it's sad because that's kind of like uncalled Alec. It's like wrestling's embraced now. It's it's sitting here on a national sports radio show. And we're talking about this. You'll have you'll have broadcasters here on CBS sports radio. Talk about wrestlemanias that leads to on WFAN here. Locally to know wherever you might anywhere anywhere. You live right, right. Talking about this. Because it like I said they're fixing to be on ESPN. Right. It's it's clearly it's clearly more mainstream and has got more mainstream as we've gone along here. And I, you know, put all that, you know, everything you said is true TASR. I just think you look at the growth of the women are the women's wrestler. The woman wrestler in professional wrestling is just remarkable. Because you mentioned in terms of now, I remember the days of sable, right? And not even not even go back where you know, you mentioned candy and everything was calling that stuff. You know that birthday. We'll see. So. So it's so significantly different the way that they're treated and appreciated now much significant. Yeah. And they've earned it. I mean, and they do a great job. I mean, we've interviewed you know, we interviewed Charlotte all week. That's right special winter, she was doing stuff a special, which is which the WWE designate job their outreach into the communities, and helping those that need it, and she talked about that. And and we know how big of a star Becky Lynch's and Ronda Rousey, she's got some work to do in terms of. I don't know if it's ever gonna get there with her on the Mike, but we know how great of a of a physical specimen. Well, then the thing is I do think like just a my opinion that I think they if if if if something McConnell McGregor happens would w w at wrestlemania guy the table set here, you get this main event here like we said earlier, I talked about this earlier. And I'll talk about more on my podcasts on the tashaun get deeper in the woods on the wrestling. But the thing is like you got you got one of the girls listing Becky Lynch and who's probably gonna win the championship. At wrestlemainia, and for those that don't know harmonica. Her name is she's the man so speculates as you know, Muslim. She's the man that's like the gimmick. And 'cause she's the man, but she's a woman. But it's it's just a gimmick. Right. But anyway, she's from Ireland. Okay. We know Conor McGregor is from Ireland. We know Rhonda rows economy McGregor offer ends. I could see something happened where I would strongly predict if f Conor McGregor gets involved. You know, and everybody's gonna hack this for me on this radio station. Just throw some credit over here to task. I would think that Conor McGregor helps Becky somehow some way maybe if he's involved win the match that'd be cool and win the championship. Because then they could go down the road where Rhonda's pissed at McGregor, and they could do something potentially further down the

WWE - Roman Reigns announces his leukemia diagnosis
"McMahon. And it's rough definitely for Roman reigns. Apparently, he's been dealing with it for eleven years. So all the best Roman reigns. A guy that always he goes in does for young people. Wish all he does for that company stepping away from the company so all the best Roman reigns there. And I'm sure I'll be talking about that this week on Tuesday. Wrestling Tuesday, part of my podcast that I do for under the hood with childhood. Glad you're with this. Here's we talk bears. Three one two three three two ESPN three three two three seven seven six phone number as the bears lose to the New England Patriots thirty eight to thirty one. We asked on the poll question, we're asking the lines as well is your letter grade for the bears to the first six games of the season. Fifty percent of you say see forty three percent of you say Bs. So it's pretty close between the CNBC. It's not a it's not a D. It's really a B minus two a C. It's three and three your five hundred. I mean, I mean, you can make five hundred sound how you want. If it wasn't for this play. If it wasn't for this happiest the the Packers. If it wasn't for these plays against the Miami Dolphins. If it wasn't for those plays against the patriots yesterday. Bottom line is is that those losses. But there are wins. There as well. And as I mentioned in our first hour, I'm looking to be wrong about the bears. Seventy nine is not bad when you have a first year coach and you're trying to dig out from underneath. I'm just hoping for better for this bears team that maybe they're better than I think, but we have to see as the season progresses. See how they're going to work out. I think that what I've seen for the bears. The first six games is similar to. Maybe what you see is that there's some improvement there with the offense. But it's still a long way to go because there are so many different wrinkles with this offense. And you look at the defense the defense look played well early you see how the defense is playing when Khalil Mack one hundred percent. This is not just a Khalil Mack defense there other guys defensively to need to step up as well. It's not Leonard Floyd defense. Others have to be able to get to the quarterback. Maybe it happens against Sam darnold on Sunday. We'll see. But I just when I saw from the bears defense last couple of games reminded me of lovey at the end. And really a lot of the John FOX era in which there is a lot in between there. We're after the the kickoff is there and the the opposite team is settled Lynn there's a lot of lot of plays in the back of the linebackers in front of the secondary cash cash over and over again big plays missed tackles that can't happen. Can't happen. So I I'm I'm I don't care if you're a team that's not just for the playoffs or not. That's gotta get better. So we're talking to you about this on the spirits Monday. Three one two three three two ESPN three three two three seven seven six is our phone number some thoughts from Mitch Trubisky. There's a lot of under throws and as a mistakes made by Trubisky. He just thought he played all right in yesterday's performance. If the patriots. All right made some plays here. And there we're moving the ball offense. But then you just go back to those given the ball away the Turner assumptions and not that I thought they were bad decisions or anything or bad throws. Just fifty fifty balls and the credit goes from making plays. But we got to continue to take care of the football. That's on me. But we didn't have the balls offense. Probably way we battled which gotta make sure that we just come closer together and get better from the experience and and go back to work this week because it takes all three phases and all eleven guys at the same time on each and every single play. So thought we did some good things. I thought I played all right. And just gonna watch the film and see what we can do even better feel like I left some completions out there. Immediately. You come back. You look at the completion percentage that you just want to complete every throw you you go out there. But I thought I gave him my my team a chance to win. We are close on the last play. But like I said before it's a combination of plays throughout the game. Which you gotta make sure that we continue to get better as an offense. I thought we did some good things today. But we just gotta make sure that we continue to clean up clean up. Our mistakes be even better on third down in the red zone. Continue to move the football and take pressure of our defense and special teams and make sure we're getting better in those areas. Well, so keeping proving as a team three one two three three two ESPN's are full number. Your letter grade for the bears in the first six games of the year. Greg in stream would on ESPN without Greg. Hey, how you doing? Thanks for taking my call. Thanks for your call. So my letter rate is a sea and to start off by head the bears at the beginning of season at six and eight then they got Khalil Mack. I went to seven and nine then after the first couple of games, and like, oh, maybe there in eighteen and the reason at the C is there. They're making a lot of the same stakes over and over and a say into games, they're not learning from their mistakes like miss tackles last against Tampa, you clean that up. And then you see a whole bunch of the patriot. Same thing for Mitchell Trubisky miss. This passes overshooting under throwing and then passes in the end zone where he doesn't see defender. I mean, those are the reasons I think they're they're not learning from their previous mistakes. All right. So you had them at six eight and one apparently a tie was going to be in that mix as well. All right. My friend. I'm glad you checked in Greg. I appreciate your phone calls. Some good thoughts there. He leaves line. Open three one two three three two ESPN's our phone number Mike in Lakeview with Jonathan owners. We talked bears on ESPN one thousand Michael, hey, how's it going? I'm just I'm confused. How people are getting a B if we're three and three, but I don't know. Aside from that. I give the bears or be right now. We're we're we're barely getting by. You know, we're barely passed. And we're three and three. I went to the game on Sunday. I was there. And I saw things that the coach didn't see I saw an injured Khalil Mack out there. Just basically like a pond I saw we let Tom Brady do whatever he wanted in the back young out and he made a lot of passes. We gave them time. I saw sloppy special teams which I haven't seen in a long time. You can't excuse special teams ball on that one kick return has to feel was wide open. I don't know where the coaching was on that. Or what special teams play that was? So I've seen a lot of negatives and three and three. And I mean, that's the record three and three is five hundred percent. So I give us a D. We're barely. We're barely squeaking by right now. And we're almost to the halfway point. And we're at risk of repeating last year over again. So fifty percent back in school was failing record, right? Yes. It was. I just graduate. You I see if you get fifty speech. You might be at her about give him a d a d for NFL curb. But if I don't know what school they went to the fifty fifth is not good go flames bike. Go flames. I don't know, man. I they played good last year. When I was there flames, you say go there, you go buddy. That was that really was the hallmark of flames fan there. Go flames. We really didn't play. Well, that Larry we could have played better at Fort Wayne game, usually the the laments from the literally go flames, you know. The yearly could have won the horizon last year. He'd be another beer bartender is usually when hot is it literally put this on the poll Felix at ESPN one thousand do you see things that Matt Nagy doesn't see? Yes. Or no. Mike Mike from Lakeview said he was at the game. And he saw things that Matt Nagy did not see on film. Three one two three three two ESPN is our telephone number John and Juliet would Jonathan hood here on ESPN one thousand here on this beer down Monday. Hello, john. Hey, how you doing for taking my call? You know, I'm doing we're we're we're three and three staring into the jets game. You know what I'm doing? I know you don't want though Brady didn't walk in the league and was a Super Bowl champion to begin with Pfizer some stuff. So you know, what I I give them a c plausible because at least offense has some kind of program. That is almost reminiscing. What New England does not too many teams have them. I don't wanna be the giants right now. At least at least they have a little bit assaulter role in the right direction. So I mean, don't let's not get down on Brady didn't come in. And just went Super Bowls. It took a while before. He did I understand. But I think that when you on this city, you have to call it the way you see it. Meaning that if there's some good and some bad see, that's the thing. This is not a D effort. I understand I understand Mike from Lakeview. He's the fan. So of course, he he sees things with the glass half empty. But what I'm saying is is that there's some five hundred the way, I look at it is there's some good and some bad like this. You're right. It could be the giant. It could be a bad situation. It's not usually this first year teams when a coaching staff looks at his roster and says man, there's a lot guys can't play on this roster. We cleaned up. And we got to get better for your two year three or four. Here's something that I think that I see that. Matt Nagy doesn't see he didn't see that that Josh Bellamy. And Dion SIMS should not be on this roster.
