"There, Guinea. That's what a moose sounds like. Wow. Oh, I think we all sound like that at that time of day. Oh, yeah. Every morning that could have been a bear or a moose or probably Billy ad. It says here this is the the Moose. Are. This is the North American moose not to be confused with an elk. No, not even close to the same thing. Now they're not the same. Would you eat a moose? Uh, move for me. It's probably not the best There is. I've had elk before, though. That's pretty tasty. Oh, yeah. Hulks takes. Those are good. What's all about How you prepare it to you? By the way pre. Lien wanted plenty of credit did not give her the credit. She is due for being an eagle eye for spotting extra bears and and extra moose on the trip, boy. I just watched that video. We got to put that on Instagram. I got a bunch of different videos, These bears and what was Amazing is how quickly that little cub could go up that tree because I mean, I've seen bears climb trees, but usually the trees or, you know, big and thick and the bears get their paws on both sides. They claw on it. And this tree a little little Whippet of a tree. I mean, it wasn't but like a three inch round, but that bear just had no problem Climbing up in that thing just climbed right up. And then Mom, of course, had no problem knocking it down with with her weight. Wow. How about that? Yeah, that was something and the one bear we saw with the tourist lady. The excursion lady was probably maybe 100 yards down a hill less than 100 yards down this slope towards the river. And you know, we're all there's probably because when you stop in wildlife country when you stop on the side of the road and see something everybody else stops, and pretty soon you got a traffic jam. Cars are parked on both sides. I know. Yeah. You can barely slipped through. People are walking through traffic and horns are honking because everybody wants to go see what is it? They don't know what What? What is it? Somebody saw something. We all gotta go look, And so there's 50 people standing along the roadside watching his bare eaten in the trees, and that mayor could have if it had wanted to could have been up that Hill in 1,001,002 0. Bam! That's a back quick and those people, Some of them would have just stood there and watched it. I mean, they wouldn't have known what to do. I I was right there with it, but I was standing next to a real fat guy. Oh, yeah, because your new man really already had the same thought we'd already planned if it mayor. Even starts looking like it's coming up here. We're throwing Roli Poli down the hill, right? You don't have to outrun the bear. You just have to outrun the fact. Just feed him a fat guy. Hey, speak in a Yellowstone. I went up there to not not the TV show the actual place. You know the, but yeah. If you're those you haven't been there. We'll tell you. It is pretty nice if you see some things, but depending on the time of day, time of year, just whatever you can drive all day and not see a bit of wildlife at all. But you can see you guys. Er So did you Look at your DVR when you got home? What do you mean? There's a new preview of the new season a Yellowstone on your Ooh, I got to season. Uh, not didn't look at any of that. All right, so it's still a couple months out. But season four of Yellowstone Posted a brand new too much from today, although it won't be a Tuesday, But it's the 7th November seventh. That's right. It's coming up in two months from today, there's a video trailer, the official trailer the new glimpse of the new season. Okay, and the video, recap some of the season three finale and an offer some teasers with some shocking new footage. That shows the Dutton family Ranch. Should I tell you under siege? Taliban? Well, no, it's not okay. First thing I thought of now fans are pretty upset about this. It's a 74 2nd video and they're dissecting it. Frame by frame. Good God in one blink you miss it seen it appears that the beloved ranch hand Lloyd. Takes a punch to the face and falls to the ground, and viewers took to the comments section there and the video to voice their concern. What could have just been that that sister Beth she's a theme for punching on people she's good at and taking her clothes off. She loves punching people and getting naked in public first, also Lloyd's sister, he just works there. And I doubt it was her. All right. If you pause it, it kind of looks like Rip is the one who's punching him. Oh, trouble in the bunkhouse. Yeah, tiny little itty bitty rip. Stop that. Yeah, it's a small, petite sized rip. Looks like he's very mad. Um Rip told Lloyd he didn't want Jimmy killed doing rodeo. Maybe that's why, Yeah, they're arguing about whether he ought to ride anymore. Not because he he likes to rodeo and his girlfriend really likes it when he rodeos or she probably ain't gonna give him none. No, and they're they're fighting about that. Yeah, Here's I'm okay with it. That's not shocking to me. Here's some advice to young men out there. If you do something dangerous, and it causes a woman to become attracted to you be careful because she's only going to be attracted to you. As long as you keep doing dangerous things. Now we all do dangerous stuff. Problem. Absolutely. I bet you did dangerous stuff this weekend. Did you fly on a plane? I did. Oh, Did you drive a car and I wrote in a car? Yeah, boy, that's dangerous. Yeah. You, uh, you drink alcoholic beverage, did you? I think you can tell that I didn't know, boy. I know you're pretty well, boys. Yeah, Yeah. You did dangerous stuff this way. Weekend, Kenny them, but But I didn't marry a woman that likes when I do dangerous stuff. Matter of fact, she probably else at you when you do dangerous stuff and says, Stop it. You wouldn't even believe it. She's got like 1/6 sense. She'll start getting mad at me before I even talk about doing something dangerous because she knows you. And she knows how you act. It happened this weekend. She was like she was like, You know how you're acting. You're making your You're about to do something. She's like you're making me and everyone else uncomfortable. I was like everyone else. Everyone else she she threw that out. There she goes. Well, me You're making me uncomfortable anyway. Um, but I didn't do anything that day We did sing karaoke. And that can be dangerous. If you picked the wrong song in the wrong neighborhood. You know what else to if you're going to a karaoke bar? Here's another thing I learned this weekend pick a song Everybody likes because even if you can't sing it well, everyone in the bar I'll sing along, right, They'll try to drown you out. If you're awful. We were at some brewery in a hipster neighborhood in ST Louis, and people are trying to pick the most obscure songs, things in French and Spanish and nobody And you look around the room and boy, they just killed the energy in there. You're not entertaining anyone? Yes, I mean that. That's the whole point. Isn't it? Sing journey? Sing talking heads, right. You know you, sir. Mix a lot, baby got back something everybody knows. You know, it doesn't have to be this or that It could be. There's a multitude of Troy. If you're going to do Spanish Macarena. You know, everybody knows Democracy Arena. I would suggest maybe you stay away from N W A. Oh, yeah, I wouldn't recommend and maybe to park if if it's a white crowd, That's a good point. You probably don't need to be singing along if you get the crowd to sing along with you, Are you racist is.

Also, we'll talk about Bob Bowlsby and Greg Sang Kee commissioners of the Big 12 of the SEC, respectively. Responding to the alliance press conference, not the A F alliance of American football. All right, be, but instead, the big tenant Pac 12 Alliance. We've got quarterback decisions in San Francisco seemingly in Denver and Jacksonville officially Will do that as well. And sounds of Saturday takes us to college Station, Texas, where the voice of the Aggies Andrew Monaco is going to join us on the show coming up in our number four and Does the future Hall of Fame NFL quarterback Hate fat people. You need to eat like this. You need to eat like this. It is something that I know many of you have been wondering about for a really long time. Does a certain future Canton bound quarterback. Hate fatties puffiness with sodium. Does this man Despise. Roli Poli So many different emotions on so many different levels. So damn fat. We've got the quote. Will answer the question coming up in 40 minutes from now, that's all all straight ahead. Here aboard the mothership this morning, So hit us up on the phones on any of those topics at 855 to 1 to four. CBS. It's 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. Or on Twitter, D a on CBS. Follow me and tweet at me there, D a On CBS Itchy Nipple Cobra. But I want to look like the fattest Lord as never walked through CBS Sports radio. People get fat sometimes. What you gonna do? Fact. What a way. To begin this morning. Wow. Mm. Didn't see it starting off that way, but Sometimes. Oh, Things just happened. Yeah, I just woke her up fat. That's fast. Easy. Stanky. Paul Pierce. Okay, fat. I was so embarrassed. I really wanted to cry, but I couldn't do anything about it. French fried All right, so let's start in Cleveland. Whereas his face is already pinkish Hue is pinkish and he's shaking his his head. What are you guys doing to me this early in the morning? We got a cold open here. Let's go. In Cleveland big expectations last year, the Browns finally making the playoffs in nearly 20 years. And winning a playoff game embarrassing, humiliating their arch nemesis, four years the bullies on their block the Pittsburgh Steelers. So the Browns Arrow pointed up, and the one thing you can say about the Browns each and every year around this time of year has been It's interesting. For good for bad For better For worse, The Cleveland Browns are always around this time of year. Interesting. Now that has meant Weird coaching decisions. Bizarre press conferences, contract holdouts, bold proclamations. It is always meant there's something Back of the hard knocks days of Hugh Jackson. We got to see friction within the franchise and coaching staff in real time. You've had Baker Mayfield out of shape. You've had Odell Beckham will. He won't He who's happy? Who's not? Who gets the ball? Can they win? Will they make a change? Is this finally the year? Is this the right head coach? The right GM. It's always something. And you would imagine coming off the season where they actually want a playoff game. It would be ratcheted up even Louder. But instead The obvious. It's not there anymore. The Browns being splashy headlines, something that we all point to every single day throughout training camp and preseason isn't there. In fact, the exact opposite is in play. Nobody's talking about the Browns. Quiet. Northeast Ohio. Which makes you wonder. Silence golden are the Browns finally quote normal. It is where we begin your cold Open the absolutely most normal Brown's team I have ever covered in my entire career. And as you know, That's a very, very long, long time. You look out there on the practice field and there are good, really good football players everywhere at every single position. There's depth. It's just there's coaching. It just has everything. And in addition to that, there's just not all the craziness that's gone on in the past. I mean no one's No one's floating around. Honest one. I mean, you know, I mean, there are so many things that are good about this football team. And finally, these Browns fans are going to get what they deserved for so long. Just a consistently good team that is going to contend for a long time..

"And I know I know how much you want to do that and I searched Just pausing for effect. It is the fourth report on your well Fed host Neil surveyed Or how do you do on this? This May Saturday. You know the what's the word on the street? They call it May because it may be gloomy. It may be sunny. It may be rainy. Had Sprinkles last night. Now it's a little gloomy, and then we're going to get some sun next week, so I'll take it. I'll take it all as we approach the summer months coming up, which will be nice as well back to watermelons, because we're doing technique of the week in this technique is how to pick And how to cut watermelon. It's just coming. It's come up throughout the week by multiple people I thought and that was a good time. It's coming into season and we are actually in watermelon season here in California, so we talked about the different types normally out of the hundreds. We usually tend to eat seedless or picnic, which is the the black seeds like you know your traditional We have seedless in the house. As I said, because of Maximilian. My four year old son doesn't like He likes consistency in his food. When there's a drastic change of color, he always questions that picking the watermelon. Good symmetry. Not not a lot of scars, dings or anything like that, on the outside, it should feel heavier. Then it looks in size because 85 to 90% water as it ripens. It's going to get very heavy, creamy yellow spot called the ground spot is what you look for. If it's white, or greenish on that ground spot, it probably was picked too soon. When you're cutting your watermelon. There's a lot of different ways to do it. One thing that I will recommend against is using a thick chef's knife. The thicker your knife. The more drag It has against the walls of the watermelon flesh as you're cutting it. That makes it slower or inconsistent. Then you end up putting more pressure. That's what they say The most dangerous tool in the kitchen is a dull life. When you have a dull knife, you think? Oh, well, it's not going to cut me. But thing is, it's not going to cut anything else either. And you end up exerting too much pressure. And when you exert pressure, you lose control. That's why the proper technique of holding a knife is choking it up to the blade and putting your pointing finger and your thumb pinching the blade. Not with the index finger, although that is a Legitimate method. And there's times for it that the most stable way to hold a knife is by pinching the end of the blade there the the base of the blade while holding it. And it's all about control. So when you have a dull knife, or you have a knife that it does not cut through something simply because it's got a lot of resistance. The, um I guess. The length of the blade. Uh, no. The width of the blade. I guess that would be it. It rubs up against that causes drag and then you exert more energy to get it through the watermelon, which is large, easiest way to do it. In my opinion, and the way I like to do it here is to use a long bread knife. They make special nights for watermelon. I like the bread knife. It's separated, so you might have to use a sawing motion sometimes, but it gives me the control. And allows me to cut through it relatively easy because the blade on a bread knife again, uh, is not as tall So as less drag against it saw it once you cut it in half if it's a smaller one, or cut it into thirds, if it's uh, you know, cut a centerpiece and the two end pieces if it's a longer one. Then I turned that end the flat and onto the the cutting board. And that gives you now you don't have something Roli Poli rolling away from you. Now you have stability in the thing. You're cutting the watermelon and gives the stability and the knife using a bread knife. With a serrated edges to cut through that and you have more control. You can cut it into sticks. Once you cut it into, like half circles, you can now cut that into sticks or one inch sticks. And they end up being very easy to eat. Kids can grab them. Anybody can grab them from the base. And now you've got just a little bit of that Ryan at the end, and then you might have like a four inch stick one by one stick. Very easy to eat. And then all you have is that little tiny bit of rind that is done, and you're good to go. That's my hot tips when it comes to watermelon. Also, if you want to take it up a notch, you can cut little rounds. Cut about a quarter inch thick piece of watermelon. Get a cookie cutter around cookie cutter. Um, that's about 3 3.5 inches and you cut circles out of them. Put that on a burger. A bacon burger instead of lettuce or tomato Put a little wedge of watermelon. Good night. Also a little bit of balsamic vinegar. On that watermelon and then put bacon on it. Mm hmm. Young man yummy for my tummy, and it's got that little bit of crunch. Also, it grills very well. Balsamic vinegar or honey is really great on it as well. When you're grilling it. All kinds of neat stuff that you can do with watermelon. All right? It is the fourth report on Niels Frederik af. I am 6 40..

"Matter, the bank said, Man blitzes. It's a fate. Luck to see the lamp leaves his feet catches it. Touchdown. Wow, what a catch by this rookie CD lamb. $7. Of course, he went off and had that amazing catch because he was on my bench and fantasy obviously made the wrong play there, but I was worried about What Andy's eggs would do, and I was one of his brain was still rattled. It was shaken and stirred and he came out and, you know, add If Jason was here, he'd have the biggest smile on his face to be roly Poley, be just not probably probably anymore because of, you know, What's his diet is not Roli Poli, meaning a lady like a fat guy sense. How dare you just a happy the happy Clam has to see the things like a dog getting his belly rub. I mean, because because he was the one always championing the fact that this Dallas team was what's gonna win this division. And when you look at how horrible we can and weak out how bad that division is, Ed Clements And after I saw the performance that they put up because the Vikings didn't suck You know what I'm saying? Kirk Cousins played pretty darn good and it ran the ball. Well, at times, yes. I think the Cowboys have a great shot at winning the division. I think they're gonna win the division now. 512836 year old 5 90 cowboy react like this Ed Clements. They play that Washington football team next They do this Thursday. If they beat them going into the weekend, they will sit atop the NFC least You're exactly right and That is mind boggling. And if you look at the schedule of the other team's most notably the Philadelphia Eagles, who looked terrible yesterday, horrific, horrific. Let's play Mr Schedule. They've got the money night game. Money, not game this weekend. They're getting destroyed. Yes, Thank you. Producer band in Seattle is going to destroy them. And then there's this is going to start. He's gonna put his apron back on for that game. Look at Seattle that I mean look at Philadelphia, Seattle. Then they have at Green Bay. Then they have New Orleans Then they play at Arizona. Then they get at Dallas. There's no way the Philadelphia is gonna win this thing. And is anybody out there thinks the New York football giants it's gonna do know they shouldn't even be in this hypothetical conversation. But that's also what killed me so bad because I didn't start believing in the Vikings again. But here they go. I told you they are Heartbreakers just much like your Dallas Cowboys because They had it in their hands. T b in the battle again to be a top Their division the Packers lost hackers lost. That was Packers game Yes. Marquez Valdas scandal. Ng is getting death threats because he dropped the ball. That's a real thing. It is, of course, and then that's why I just didn't shock me that the Cowboys beat the Vikings on day that the Packers lost and we're just like here you go. Minnesota you want right back in the race. They didn't want it and essentially did them They didn't want. He didn't want it all and to do your bit here. The schedule. Yeah. The Cowboys could go into this weekend by beating Washington on Thursday in first place. Then they play the Ravens, which shouldn't scare anybody in school or not the way the Ravens you're playing. No, you're right. Not anymore. And then you got the job borrow less. Cincinnati Bangles. Cincinnati is gone because they don't have a backup quarterback. Backup quarterback should be Andy Dalton. I never I never had them too deep in my bottom five because with Joe Burrow there, they could have put up enough points to be in anybody. They like a horrific They weren't as bad as the Jets or something like this right now. Get ready to be cellar dwellers. Cincinnati So ready, Todos Pack it in. That's the Cowboys. Game after that, the go rob a little less. And who knows who's gonna be hurt? Because they're going through a hurt merry go round all year is the Niners Exact which now that doesn't scare me How boys either Then you're hosting those eagles bad and you're closing that last run right there against the Giants Ed. The Cowboys could and should win six games in a row. And now being the playoffs, my friend with nine wins them, cowboy that Z actually get a look. Respectable with nine wins. But, dude, this is me talk. Could you imagine me your brother Bitos saying any of these things about the Cowboys just a week or two ago. Do you think Washington? Vito has a chance to compete with the Cowboys for the division? I'm looking at their schedule. Washington, Of course, Thanksgiving afternoon there at Dallas. That's gonna be tough for them to win. Are they capable? Yeah, they are. Cowboys win that then Washington has to go to Pittsburgh. Yes. Then they've got to go to San Francisco. That's gonna be a competitive game. Then they've got to play Seattle. They'll lose that game. Then I gotta play Carolina. Probably lose that game, and then they end up in Philadelphia. They may win that game, So it's right in front of the boys in blue. Yes, the Dallas Cowboys, I would say if anyone else has a chance at Because so weird to say, winning that division. It would be the Washington football team. I predicted them to do so if Kyle Allen would have stayed healthy, but he did not. But look, Alex Smith has come back and be like, Yeah. Oh, you forgot about me. But don't you hold every time I see how that's I hold my breath for the guy, but it's hard to watch. By the way, if you're you're not familiar with are never ever ever we did this pretty good last hour. Like never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever listen to guard line should do these things. Craig Mortal Massacre died. Mulch We just add in multiple Keano's Callum added. Planting trees too close to the foundation of house. Definitely. Don't treetop anymore. But if you want to add to that list of things that you should never ever do here on guard Ling give us a call. You'll talk to Calum. First, It's 713 to 1 to Katie's been weaving questions in and out as well. Today 713 to 125874. Let's go next to Beverly and friends would morning, Beth Good morning. I have the weirdest thing that has happened to make ever in my gardening days. I bought a couple of six packs of broccoli and Swiss chard. And I thought, Well, I'm not gonna plant from today We'll put him in my greenhouse. Why don't you want to play them today? No. This was about two weeks ago. Why didn't you want to plan two weeks ago? Put him in the greenhouse wire. AC went out the next morning, and something had eaten every leap off of 12 plants. What could I don't really know. I'd need one. I need to see what that damage looks like. But I look all discuss several things that I know love to eat those kind of things. Is there any chance that a rat or a mile Scott in there? Out and they could climb up the absolutely climate. Ah, leg on. Table easily. No, this is why rack attached to a brick wall. Yeah, but can they climb up the wire rack next to the brick wall? No, There's no light of climate. It's freestanding. In other words, it's attached to the to the concrete wall. Okay, well, Any chance of any kind of like squirrel got in there? I don't think so. You know what? For me to confirm that it can be a rodent of any kind of need to see what you're seeing any way you can get a picture with nothing left. But then there are insects that will eat Ah, down to that stem. There's also this has got to be some kind of rodent. I'm telling you right now because they're going to eat all those leaves all the way down to that stem s O. They are climbing up. Why Iraq easily. They have the ability to do that. You are seeing squirrels. They can get up and down just about anything in my yard. So One thing I would do right now, Let's say I started over just because I think it's either a rodent, a rat mouse. Ah, squirrel, some kind. I'm going to spray all the leads with the pet. We had this subject yesterday when had it for years and came up yesterday. Now it's coming up today, I wouldn't hesitate to spray the capsize and cap seem based sprays. He's the hot pepper juice. That comes from jalapenos and other peppers. And you spray all the leads. They bite into one of those leads and boom. I mean, that catches their mouth on fire. They're not going to come back to that. OK, well, that sounds like a plan. But I did not still love to see what the damage looks like. And I'd like to see what this rack looks like. I don't know if you've ever considered sending in a picture, but Ah, I'm looking at e mails right now, seeing if there's anybody asking requests and in pictures Cause we can get those in before the end of the day. That much leaf surface being eaten. And devoured, I say, devour you like you're not seeing the leaves. Even though we're on the floor, right then that, Yeah, that's rodent related. It's nothing left and planted seeds recently of the Snow peas and I had six little wonderful little plants coming up. Go out this morning and they're all gone. There's nothing left. Now. There are the other thing I would ask you to do just to be on the safe side is go out and get some Die tenacious earth and make a ring around each stem of everything else that does have leads on and let's make sure that this isn't some kind of like Roli poli damage. No pill bug damage salberg damage but the fact that the eat leaves or being eaten and not just It's separated from the plant that tells me its animal and not insect related. But I still wouldn't have to take put a ring and die intimations around any of these. Let's go. One more question. Then we've got to take a break Bill in West Chase more Bill Right. Sheldon? Morey, Randy. Thank you, sir. My best guess is Are starting to get pretty leggy and the stems are losing their lead. Is it time to bring these things you can put him back several times throughout the year? He never just do it one time. That's funny, because I don't know if you were listening last hours talking about a couple of high biscuits that I just baby let back yard and I was one of them was.

"Ideas from? And what basic belief Systems do you live by And are they effective for you? And we're going into a book here by Tony Robbins called Unlimited power, and we're going into a chapter called the Seven Lives of success, and he calls them lies. Not because they are lives, but because we don't know if their lives are not. His basic premise is that how do we really even know If anything we believed to be true is true. And then he Goes further with that argument. It says. Well, if we don't know what is actually true, there's really no way to understand the power of the mind. You go back to Napoleon Hill. Whatever the mind of man could conceive, it can believe whatever it can conceive and believe it can achieve. If you believe that, then you really believe you can achieve anything. And so the question is, is that real or not? And what he's saying is by saying Here's the seven lives about the way we see things is that we really don't know. But if We don't really know why not believe from the way we believe they should be. The way that would empower us. In other words, if you get out of bed every day, and you go my life is terrible. Then your life is going to be terrible for get out of bed every day. Go, man. My life is amazing. You're going to find reasons to believe that you like is amazing. This is the basic concept behind this whole chapter, But he gets down into it and cover some very specific ideas. The first one is Everything happens for reap everything happens for a reason and a purpose. And it serves us That reason that purpose served off. So I think back to when I think about the worst thing that ever happened to me in my entire life, I think Was to be born a fat kid. Fourth grade weighed about £200. Big giant Roli Poli fat kids face fat cheeks, you know, like 40 inch belt that pulled all the way out the last little hole in the buckle on type thing and Flat top haircut and coke bottle glasses. I mean Coke bottle thick glasses. So you just think of any cartoons or Spanky and the gang and think of the fattest, ugliest kid out there, and that was me. Wow. So how could I believe that served me well, what it did. It made me an early proponent for physical fitness and early proponent for physical beauty. An early proponent for taking control. Of my life. Willpower. To stop eating to build up the habit of getting up and exercising on a regular basis that have it Fled to the ability to create other habits that led to my ability to create wealth. Relationships fitness. It said. So if I had never done that, I would've grown up just like everybody else. All the cute little kids. Who I hated by the way at the time. All the cute little kids that had all the friends and got all the Acura Eights, fromthe school teachers and the parents and everything. Drove me crazy. I mean, just thinking, Can you feel the hatred I had for these people that I which I don't really have any more. Because since then I have stayed in shape and they have gotten fat. And they smoke cigarettes, and they were coke bottle glasses and their hair isn't comb. That's all guys here. There's like foreign about the bar yesterday to shovel hair. I mean, the guy was sitting in the bar stool, his belly wet. At least 2 ft from his side. Across and up on underneath of the bar. I mean, he couldn't get it even get up to the bar. His belly was so big. I mean, the guy had legs. I swear to God, we're almost his big. He was big around as a barrel. Like a wine barrel. His legs were as big around as a tire. I mean, it was just unbelievable. And you say, Well, you're so judgmental. So, yeah, you know, I am. And the reason I'm that judgmental is because I know you don't have to look that way. No matter Who you are. I was born with big bones, as they say, who's born with a slow metabolism I used to say of the metabolism of a sloth. And yet I was able to control And win that battle. But that victory did way more for me. Just allow me to get in shape and win all kinds of athletic awards and so forth, which built my confidence built my ego up, you know? Gave me the confidence to go speak to women. Back then it was girls. Women, and I didn't have any of that. It all came from that. Overcoming that challenge. In my life. So everything happens for a reason and a purpose. And that reason and purpose serves you is an ideal I can live with. So if you had anything that was really bad. For you. And I've had all kinds of medical things go wrong with me. And for the For the heck of me. I can't figure out why I had to have cancer. What did that? How did that serve me? I can't figure out why they had to cut my intestines out and put me back together..

"Amazingly, some parasites actually live within the devil axe themselves having Various adaptations We've talked about aunt mimics before. There are apparently some species like this, like beetles that survived by mimicking ants and just sort of like hanging out among the ants. Trying to be undetected. But this was my favorite part of Young writes that some parasites quote, use the ants as mobile restaurants jumping onto workers that are carrying food and eating their booty. Right under or over there, very jaws, So they hang out on the ant head eating the food that the aunt is carrying. Oh, wow. Again. I think for a lot of species, this would require very special adaptations. Or, you know you would immediately become prey yourself right? But it's just amazing to imagine the tiny like full ecosystems, Basically that are made possible by the opportunities created by the chaos of a rating. Army. Yeah, In a way, you kind of have to come back to that That analogy of the super organism right that the ant colony is what we might think of is the individual like the ant colony is the body and so it is going to have its own parasite. It's gonna have its own symbiotic relationships, and that's what kind of what we're seeing here. So we've already talked some about ant species that are referred to as the Marauder ants. You read a passage from one of those articles by Martin W. Moffett about marauder ants. Yeah, Moffett points out that marauder ants excel and deploying troops in ways that increase efficiency and reduce the cost to a colony. And one thing that really makes them interesting is their variety and sizes among the workers they very and Sizemore than workers in any other and colony. So this where it gets interesting in a sort of war game point of view manner because essentially, we're getting into a different unit types here. So if you're feeling droids, for instance, on in a battle going clone wars here, we're doing clone wars here. Okay, You know you're not just bust. We out a ton of standard B one battle droids, Right? You're also busting out B two super heavy battle droids or heavy weapon droid. Roli Poli guys. If you're playing something like Warhammer 40,000 it's not just space Marines. You're also busting out specialized assault Marines or heavy terminators that sort of thing. So, Moffett points out that the marauders deploy smaller miners. That's what we call them or foot soldiers to the front line. And these are just weak and hopeless individuals against adversaries. But there are tons of them so they work is a kind of barricade. They bogged down the enemy long enough for larger ants to move in. The media's and the majors. So against same species, same variety of this and but it's like it's a different caste. Radically different body forms. Yeah. Some of thes individuals that the major's compared to them the miners they are 500 times as heavy as the smaller version. So these air really bruisers I mean these air these air monsters. My initial impulse will be to compare these like strictly toe larger, you know, bruiser, heavy class fighters and fantasy armies like I'm thinking about Some of those big specialized trolls and the armies of Mordor or but then I was thinking about it was like looking at the size differential here and okay, let's assume that an orc or see a storm trooper. Eyes, roughly the average weight of a human multiply that by 500 you're talking 34 times. So in the real world, that's essentially the difference between a human and a humpback whale. Okay, so that that's crazy. Even even the troll would not really capture the size difference appropriately. Yeah, like I ended up going down a rabbit hole, trying to figure out how heavy different fantasy and sci fi Army vehicles and units were. And is best I can tell. Based on some fan estimates you might draw comparison here between a single imperial stormtrooper in one of those two legged 80 s T. Walker's okay. That would be the difference between A marauder minor and in a marauder major aunt. This is what Moffett writes quote the miners sacrifices on the front. Ryan's assure a low mortality for the media's in the majors, which require far more resource is for the colony to raise and men maintain. Putting the easily or place fighters at greatest risk is a time honored battle technique. So in other words, stormtroopers are notoriously bad shots, and they are apparently easily replaced. But you're 80 STDs those air far more precious. Yeah, they will. They cost more to make. Yeah. Moffett also points out that the marauders tactics here line up with the example one season armies throughout history, thie use of conscripted farmers and laborers alongside elite professional soldiers, with the common soldiers absorbing the worst of it, while the elite units are protected and move in at strategic intervals. He also points out that marauders used what is known in military strategy as defeat in detail tactics. Defeating an enemy unit by unit rather than engaging in enemy's full strength. Now, marauder ants also battle their own kind, pitting colony against colony and in these contests, the majors and the media's also hang back and let the miners do most of the fighting, tearing each other apart in contest that tend to be even more brutal than the interspecies conflicts that also take place. Moffett refers to the work of University of Bristol's Nigel Franks. Who found that the tactics of these ants is consistent with Lanchester Square Law, an equation developed in World War by engineer Frederick Lanchester, who also devised Lanchester is linear law, which will also touch base on here. I keep wanting to say Lannisters, so don't let me say that coming back to the fantasy War analogy Eso land. Chester's laws are a set of mathematical models trying to explain outcomes in battle. Based on initial force disparity is generally the main disparities. They're going to be individual unit effectiveness. Like how much damage each unit Khun do, and then also the numbers of combatants on either side. Lanchester Square. Lo, in particular shows that in some types of combat, for example, shooting wars involving masses of soldiers armed with rifles that Kaname in any direction in these types of combat, there are ways of organizing confrontations. Major Lee to your advantage, just just based on the numbers of forces and how they're grouped specifically that the main takeaway is don't split your forces. So to illustrate this, you can imagine. Say, you got battle droids in Star wars and say, maybe one side has 100 battle droids and the other side has exactly 100 battle droids as well. If you imagine each of the battle droids can shoot its blaster one time every second and each shot has a 25% chance of destroying its target. You can work out that after one second of battle, both forces will be reduced equally by about 25%. Maybe after another second etcetera, and it just goes on as the two sides decrease by attrition at roughly the same rate until both armies are mostly or fully vanquished at around the same time, unless for some reason, one side gets an advantage Early on. But that kind of process does not scale in a linear way. So if you have say 100 droids versus an opponent's that general grievous is your opposing army and he's just got 50 droids. You you probably can assume that the larger force will win. But you might not understand how much of an advantage the larger force has. So if you have the you know the same kind of thing working after the 1st 2nd your 100 droids will probably have destroyed roughly half of your opponent's 50 droids. But they really will not have destroyed many of yours at all, maybe only like 12 or so and as each second of battle goes on. You reduce their fighting effectiveness, Mohr and Maura until what you're left with, in the end is very little casualties to the larger army and total decimation of the.

That would be the difference between A marauder minor and in a marauder major aunt. This is what Moffett writes quote the miners sacrifices on the front. Ryan's assure a low mortality for the media's in the majors, which require far more resource is for the colony to raise and men maintain. Putting the easily replace fighters at greatest risk is a time honored battle technique. So, in other words, stormtroopers are notoriously bad shots, and they are apparently easily replaced. But your STDs those air far more precious. Yeah, there will they cost more to make? Yeah. Moffett also points out that the marauders tactics here line up with the example one season armies throughout history, the use of conscripted farmers and laborers alongside elite professional soldiers, with the common soldiers absorbing the worst of it, while the elite units are protected and move in at strategic intervals. He also points out that marauders used what is known in military strategy as defeat in detail tactics. Defeating an enemy unit by unit rather than engaging in enemy's full strength. Now, marauder ants also battle their own kind, pitting colony against colony And in these contests, the majors in the media's also hang back and let the miners do most of the fighting, tearing each other apart and in contest that tend to be even more brutal. In the interspecies conflicts that also take place. Moffett refers to the work of University of Bristol's Nigel Franks, who found that the tactics of these ants is consistent with Lanchester Square Law, an equation developed in World War one by engineer Frederick Lanchester, who also devised Lanchester is linear law, which will also touch base on here. I keep wanting to say the lannisters who don't let me say that coming back to the fantasy warfare analogy, Eso Lanchester. His laws are A set of mathematical models trying to explain outcomes in battle, based on initial force disparity is generally the main disparities. They're going to be individual unit effectiveness, so like how much damage each unit can do, and then also the numbers of combatants on either side. Lanchester Square. Lo, in particular shows that in some types of combat, for example, shooting wars involving masses of soldiers armed with rifles that Kaname in any direction in these types of combat. There are ways of organizing confrontations majorly to your advantage, just just based on the numbers of forces and how they're grouped. Specifically, the main takeaway is Don't split your forces. So to illustrate this, you can imagine. Say you got battle droids in Star wars and say, maybe one side has 100 battle droids and the other side has exactly 100 battle droids as well. If you imagine each of the battle droids can shoot its blaster one time every second And each shot has a 25% chance of destroying its target. You can work out that after one second of battle, both forces will be reduced equally by about 25%. Maybe after another second etcetera, and it just goes on as the two sides decreased by attrition at roughly the same rate until both armies are mostly or fully vanquished at around the same time. Unless, for some reason, one side gets an advantage early on, but that kind of process does not scale in a linear way. So if you have say 100 droids versus an opponent's that general grievous is your opposing army, and he's just got 50 droids. You. You probably can assume that the larger force will win. But you might not understand how much of an advantage the larger force has. So if you have the you know the same kind of thing working after the 1st 2nd your 100 droids will probably have destroyed roughly half of your opponent's 50 droids. But they really will not have destroyed many of yours at all, maybe only like 12 or so. And as each second of battle goes on, you reduce their fighting effectiveness. Mohr and Maura until what you're left with, in the end is very little casualties to the larger army and total decimation of the smaller one to hear.

"Even more. Amazingly, some parasites actually live within the ant devil acts themselves having Various adaptations We've talked about aunt mimics before they're apparently some species like this, like beetles that survived by mimicking ants and just sort of like hanging out among the ants. But it's just amazing to imagine the tiny like full ecosystems Basically That are made possible by the opportunities created by the chaos of a rating army. Yeah, In a way, you kind of have to come back to that. That analogy of the super organism right that the the Ant colony is What we might think of is the individual like the ant colony is the body And so it is going to have its own parasite. It's gonna have its own symbiotic relationships, and that's what kind of what we're seeing here. So we've already talked some about ant species that are referred to as the marauder ants. You read a passage from one of those articles by Mark W. Moffett about marauder ants. Yeah, Moffett points out that marauder ants excel and deploying troops in ways that increase efficiency and reduce the cost to a colony. And one thing that really makes them interesting is their variety and sizes among the workers. They vary and Sizemore than workers in any other and colony. So this where it gets interesting in a sort of war game point of view manner because essentially, we're getting into a different unit types here. So if you're fielding droids, for instance, on in a battle going clone wars here, we're doing clone wars here. Okay, You know you're not just bust. Hangout. A ton of standard B one battle droids, Right? You're also busting out B two super heavy battle droids or heavy weapon droid. Icka Roli Poli guys. Yeah, some of thes individuals that the major's compared to them the miners, they are 500 times as heavy as the smaller version. So these air, really bruisers and these air these air monsters. My initial impulse would be to compare these like strictly toe larger, you know, Bruiser, heavy class fighters in fantasy armies like I'm thinking about some of those big specialized trolls and the armies of Mordor or But then I was thinking about it was like looking at the size differential here and okay, let's assume that in or Garcia stormtrooper eyes roughly the average weight of a human multiply that by 500 you're talking 34 times. So in the real world that's essentially the difference between a human and a humpback whale. Okay, so that that's crazy. Even even the troll would not really captured the size difference appropriately.
