"Team for the opposite reasons. Yeah, it does feel like Aaron Donald, of course, is just Thanos, you know, it's the meme of where did that bring you back to me back to the guy getting double teamed and held on pretty much every play. But okay, because you mentioned the bucks in your concern about them, who else are you fading, Bill? As you look ahead in the NFC playoffs. God, can you fade the entire conference? Is that how to throw possibility? I mean, there's so many holes to poke in these teams. I mean, think about the cardinals. 18 that. Yeah. All year, we were sort of taking okay are these new cardinals? Are they not the same old cardinals? And then over the last 5 or 6 weeks, it felt like, oh no, these are the same old cardinals we shouldn't have got our hopes up. I mean, it just feels like they're so dependent on Kyler Murray making magic happen with his legs or with his arm. It feels like he has to be inch perfect for them to move the ball and win football games. Skyler is looking left pats it throws it towards the far sideline and there's the touchdown Antoine Wesley the big target on the far sideline and that fast was right on the money. Kyler drops it in the bucket for 6. And yes, I mean, they're missing the outer Hopkins. They're missing James Connor. That hurts. The one thing I would say, if you're a Cardinals fan, and you want to be able to miss it about their chances, so they got Rodney Hudson back from the COVID list before that went over the cowboys. And Pablo, I did say earlier that you are now a professional scout when it comes to your eyes. If you want to be a professional on football Twitter or in football spaces if you want to be seen as the football hipster that I am that mean at times, you just have to say something like Rodney Hudson is the guy that makes the Cardinals go. I'm all over this. He's the center. Nobody actually nobody could pick Rodney has to not have a lineup if they had to. But he does make a significant difference. Kyler Murray's QBR is 64 with Rodney Hudson on the field 44 without routing us in on the field. So keeping him healthy, incredibly important for that Cardinals offense. I will also say Pablo, that I'm concerned about the team that the Cardinals beat most recently. That's the Dallas Cowboys where we've seen just how inconsistent that often can be from week to week. That Washington game, it felt like they were they were the Thanos at the NFC. They were suddenly unstoppable on offense. Prescott in the gun, Elliott next to him back looking left looking middle looking leg in the end zone. It is caught. It is a touchdown. It's a 40 burger. And then the following week, they lose to the Cardinals. And it's a meek performance on the offensive side of the ball. I mean, I think they make sloppy mistakes. I think that Prescott's calf is still not a 100%. And their defense has been really impressive, but it's almost like the defense has been so good that it's masking realistic concerns about whether the offense is still the offense that we had in their heads, heading into the season. So it does feel like mediocrity is the theme coursing through the NFC. And if we get to the bottom of that conference Bill, out of all of those mediocrities, which team are you looking at as the biggest threat or maybe the most interesting team to see actually get into the postseason? Oh, okay. So we're down to two teams really now in the NFC. The AFC is a lot more complicated. The NFC is pretty simple. It's the saints and the forty-niners. The saints need to beat the falcons, there are arch rival hated nemesis falcons in Atlanta. And they need the forty-niners to lose to the ramps. If both those things happen, the saints are in. Any other scenario, the niners are back on the postseason. I would actually vote for the saints here because I want to annihilate the dumb argument I hear every single year that a team needs to have blank quarterback or a quarterback of a certain caliber to win the Super Bowl because it's nonsense. It's like this abstract concept. What an amazingly bad handed way to root for Taysom Hill. Yes, I mean Pablo. Like why are we having those conversations when Nick Foles won a Super Bowl like four years ago? The ultimate like just dumb NFL storyline would be the saints going all in for years. Mortgaging their future committing enron level accounting fraud to go all the way with Drew Brees. And for years coming up short of the postseason and then somehow sneaking their way back into the playoffs and making the Super Bowl with Taysom Hill at quarterback. It was like reaffirm everything Sean Payton has done at all the ridiculous contracts that they've given Taysom Hill. And there's also a chance that this network get hurt and we'd have Ian book as a postseason quarterback, which is I'm a real sucker for a really bad or really anonymous postseason quarterback. Like that's the stuff I want to see in the playoffs. So Ian book, come on down. Yeah, Bill, I will never shame your kink on this. I respect that. This is a safe space for you. But okay, you mentioned alleged accounting fraud, and this is why I need to ask you about the New York Giants. So this is a team of course. Nowhere near the playoffs. But what they are doing does seem to be a level of bad that almost feels deliberate. So what is happening here under Joe judge? Is there hope for giants fans going forward? What is happening? Oh boy, oh boy. Where did we start Pablo? I mean, they basically just collapsed. It's one thing to lose to a great football team. If you get blown out by the packers, you get blown up by the chiefs. It's a bummer. But at least you can look yourself in the eye and say, hey, that's a great football team. On the other side of the field. The Giants just lost 29 to three to the bears. And it's not just that they lost by 26 points to the bears. It's how they lost by 26 points to the bears Pablo. On the first play of the game on Sunday, Mike glennon, a very tall quarterback for the New York Giants. Failed to recognize that he was responsible for an unblocked rusher, which in the NFL is when you're hot. You have to get the ball out, throw the ball away before you get hit. I recognize this, didn't get the ball out and was strip sacked. Glen will begin from the gun. Here they come football is loose. Bears recover inside the ten and forced out of bounds. It's below. The coach is basically through a temper tantrum at this play, and then ran the ball on 23 of their remaining 26 plays during the first half. Mike Lynn finished the half one of two for four yards with two sacks and an interception. It felt spiteful, which is hard to do. Yeah, I love play calling that is just meant to rub your quarterbacks nose in the dirt. And on top of all that, you might say, okay, a bad game, but game's over. Let's move on. That did not happen Pablo. Joe judge gave one of the all time great press conferences in the history of the National Football League. Obviously, it wasn't good enough today. There are marks were simple. It was so good. On my podcast, it'll barn all show Pablo. I spend a full hour breaking down. Line by line is for you. You and will Brinson just dissecting this like the layers of the onion. So many things that are incredibly implausible that Joe judge had no concerns are putting out there as fact. Judge had suggested that he gets a dozen emails a day from fans, not like a couple hundred, not two or three, somehow a dozen fans find Joe judge's email and said hey, email half of which he says are complimentary. And I get about a dozen emails a day..

"They're going to make this run. Kyler has been terrible. Last four games he's 24th in EPA plus completion percentage above expectation. And it's against defenses with an average efficiency rank of 17th. So below average. And now you get the hottest defense in the league with Dallas. Number one and weighted defensive efficiency. You'll get the cowboy since week 8, number one. Success rate allowed only 37% of snaps of great successful. Dan Quinn has been fantastic. It's why he's getting a lot of pub for potentially being a head coach next year. My understanding though and he's like fully entrenched with what's going on with Dallas this season because he turned down the Jacksonville interview, which is so it's really smart move. Yeah, it could be the smart move. Yeah. The other interesting thing here is the pressure being generated in recent weeks for Dallas is absolutely off the charts since DeMarcus Lawrence returned in week 13. Downs pressured quarterbacks on 39% of dropbacks. So good thing, right, Kyler, all signs point to him getting Rodney Hudson back. The Cardinals all rolled center. That is huge. Obviously, massive snap kerfuffle last week that led to a safety. There are a couple things you should use by the way of kerfuffle. Good use out of you. There we go. North Carolina, a quick three and a half. Are you going to give us play by play on this bull game for people know exactly how late we're running this morning? We're just going to give a little play by play here in college football on the NFL podcast. So looking at this magic, there's a couple of things I think that have to give here. When you look at Arizona, they've still done a very good job winning the money down. Cardinals are number one and third and fourth down efficiency. But Dallas, number one in the NFL in third down conversion rate allowed about 9% better than league average. So something's got to give there. I just don't think with the pressure Dallas is getting right now that if you're sitting in third and 5 plus, that's going to be overly advantageous, even if you have Kyler, part of the offensive decline, Arizona has had during this recent struggle is because of the red zone production. There were number one in the NFL, the first 7 games they've converted 69% of red zone trips into touchdowns. They're down to 53% since then. It makes some sense, right? You lose your big body, jump ball guy and Hopkins and then James Conner, who you assign to give you that physical presence when space condense to kind of help negate the issues that spread offenses typically have in the red zone, he's out. And Connor missed the colts game, if you listen to the postgame presser, it didn't even sound like Connor was close to playing with his heel injury. It's just a tough game because everything points to Dallas matchup wise current form wise, but it does feel like Arizona's backs are against the wall here, right? They're being called frauds. They've been great on the road as you alluded to. What was it 5 O against the spread and straight up? Candidly, I don't really have any interest in this game. It feels super high variance as we're recording this now, though, like Dallas out to 6. So you do wonder when things start to stop here in terms of this price increase. Yeah, interesting that that's not the only game moving right now out to 6. There's another game that's of some interest moving as well. So you wonder, what kind of coordination taking place in the market that this current juncture and just kind of building on the case you made there talking about the Arizona Cardinals and some of their struggles? A quote from cliff Kingsbury about Rodney Hudson. He's a security blanket for all of us. The coaching staff O line skill position players, he's really the glue that's made it all stick together. It's a big deal to get him back. So it's always difficult to try and quantify the return of a player that even the coaching staff realizes his overall impact. And as far as Kyler Murray is concerned, you look at weeks one through 13 versus the last three weeks. His numbers 8.9 yards per attempt have dropped to 6.7, takes him from first in the league to 15th, a 7% touchdown to a temporary falls to one and a half percent. That takes him from first in the league to 27th and his passer rating from one 12 down to 77. That takes him from first in that category down to 26. So there's no doubt about it when you look at some of those numbers and see how things play out that there's definitely noise there in a Cardinals team who as you said, backs against the wall gonna need to put together their best performance. Onto a game that'll go a long way pain and defining the AFC. You can't the city chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals. We're looking at Kansas City, a 5 and a half point road favorite as they'll head to the jungle. Total in this game sits at 50 at FanDuel sports book. Kansas City, they clinch their 6th straight division crown. Now trying to secure the number one overall seed in the AFC. And when you look at the chiefs, the stories of their demise, offensively, probably premature. They're averaging more than 39 points per game over their last three games. Mark their 19th 35 plus point performance last week over the last four seasons. And you saw maybe more importantly the emergence of a potential third option in this passing attack if Byron Pringle can be that guy opposite Travis Kelce and tyreek hill matched up against a Cincinnati defense that showed plenty of vulnerabilities even last week against Josh Johnson, who has scraped up off the scrappy. Yeah, I think Pringles kind of a guy that we've talked about being very smart enough to kind of be that third guy doesn't have all the talent in the world. If you could put his smarts and route running with Robinson's body, you'd have a really elite receiver. But he's certainly dependable. The chief's offense kind of trending back the right way a 118 points the last three games. Obviously, when you look at those three defenses, they play their 22nd or worst in defense of efficiency. So I think we're still kind of hesitant to think the chiefs offense is fully nuclear again. It's still a very good offense, but we'll see what comes of that Cincinnati despite some of the question marks that I think we all have. This would be the best defense Kansas City's played since week 11. Again, not really saying all that much, my sense is the Bengals defense when I look at it is like average, maybe slightly above average, it's kind of what my eyes tell me and then I'm able to confirm that with the numbers and it kind of meshes perfectly with both efficiency and EPA numbers. But I think it's hard to ignore some of the quarterbacks that have had success against the Bengals, the back half of the season. Mike white Baker Mayfield. Jimmy G, Josh Johnson. On average, those four quarterbacks are 7th in EPA plus completion percentage above expectation the week they played the bangles. I also think there's really coaching mismatch here. I think you don't say, you don't say there's a coaching mismatch between Andy Reid and Zack Taylor. I think there's probably a matchup mismatch here as well. Last week we kind of focused on Mark Andrews and we said he'd have a field day. He did. Travis Kelce is a go this week. Cincinnati allowing nearly 12 yards per catch to tight ends this season 7 touchdowns. The Bengals are bottom 5 in the NFL in both counting stats in efficiency defending tight ends. Now, Logan Wilson returned to practice and full on Wednesday..

"Through the air. Right? I mean, you look at the colts, they got back to stopping the run pretty well against New England overall. And this is a past funnel defense to begin with. And then you look at Arizona, 23rd and run block win rate. So this isn't this mulling offensive line that's going to create a ton of room in the run game. So when I look at this, it is going to be on Kyler Murray's shoulders to get back on track and you mentioned those great numbers with and without Hopkins and they're certainly relevant and something that you need to be factored into the line. Would gotta get back to playing within the system. And this is something that we've talked about at points throughout the season and obviously we've mentioned backyard football before, and then he goes out and has a great game and all the Arizona homers and haters starts like pile on. But this is kind of what we've seen over the last couple of weeks, right? It's like the defense that appears elite on paper because they're 5th is actually trending towards being average. And the head coach that everyone was clamoring for to be coach of the year through about 8 weeks has suddenly not figured out how to formulate an endgame situation or strategy against the rams and then doesn't have his team prepared for the lion. So we're having issues with the coach both in game and in preparation. And then Kyler Murray has taken a step back since he's rejoined the team. But one thing that I am seeing right now is he's not playing within this system. And this is kind of what we've gone back to with this backyard football. If you look at Kyler Murray, he's getting the ball out on time. When he's operating from the pocket, 8.6 yards per attempt plus 0.21 EPA per plane of 57% success rate. We know Kyler got wheels. And all these defenses start to talk about keeping them in the pocket and not letting him improvise and letting him get outside and beat you with his legs. Sure, but if you look at Tyler out of the pocket, his yards for pass attempt dip nearly a full yard and a half, his success rate dips to 40%. His EPA per play is a negative 0.6. So it's this battle where sure you want to keep him in the pocket and not make like these ridiculous runs outside. But for Kyler, those numbers indicate, if he is getting the ball out on time. Reading what the defense is giving him, playing within the confines of the offense and not going this backyard route style of football, he can be more effective. Let's see if he does that because you're not going to have Hopkins Bill yeah. I think the other thing that's interesting here is let's keep an eye on Rodney Hudson. He's a starting center if he is removed from the big C list or not. If not, deforest Buckner should be able to create some pressure from the inside. One of the best three technique defensive linemen in football. That would be a massive matchup advantage for the cults of Rodney Hudson, does not get cleared from that list. The other advantage that I do think that the Cardinals could have here is Zach Ertz. They went and acquired them. They thought this was going to be a team that could make a Super Bowl run. We think Zach Ertz still has something left in the tank. He's shown pretty well. The colts are horrific defending tight ends. Bottom 5 in both efficiency and counting stats, colts are given up 10.6 yards per reception to tight ends. 89 receptions in 8 touchdowns. So Kyler should be able to play within the confines of the offense and you should have a nice reliable weapon in Zach Ertz based upon the style of defense the colts play. But this is certainly a past funnel defense of the colts. And so they have to be able to go out there and execute through the air. Sendejo is can cost. He was already their backup safety for the colts. So you're now potentially on your third string safety. You did mention Xavier roads having a bit of another good season. Not quite as good as last year. He is Batman calf injury. He exited the game against the Patriots. He's been battling through this, but he's clearly not a 100%. He also had rock you in, batting a little bit of an injury last week. He was in and out of the lineup. So the secondary isn't in great standing for the colts right now. So this should be a game where if Kyler in this offense can get back on track, they should have some ability to move it through the air. I think that that's the case. And obviously, everyone's talking about them being a fraud now. There is some motivation here for Arizona. But the line certainly indicates the culture to the side. There's no doubt about that. Be interesting to see where this number ultimately settles. The market has more or less caught on to the colts to certain extent and starting to realize some of Arizona's frailties. We'll see if they can get an all in type effort knowing the rams continue to put pressure on them as far as the NFC west race is concerned. And amazing what can transpire over the course of a few weeks, Arizona with the inside track for the number one seed, not only just in their division, but the entire NFC, now there's a distinct possibility they'll be playing wildcard weekend without a home game to their credit, which given the record we've seen might not actually be a bad thing for this team this season..

"But i think that the raiders defense is here to stay. I want better communication from the offense. I want early on versus ravens. A communication was not good. The raiders offense has never looked worse. Honestly i've never seen that rate. Look raider offense. Look as bad as they did early on the steelers come at russia's they're gonna come up blitzes. The offense has to be on a day game due to go toe to toe steelers. Do you just kind of attribute that shaky start at the offense had just to maybe not even playing together in preseason even though they have the scrimmages with the rams and i know they said you know this is all Even better than having a preseason game going through those inter-squad practices but You do feel like the kind of shaking rust or adjusting to the crowd or just working together in real time. We attribute it to. I think. I think let's start with car. I think that sometimes derek gets a little too ramped up. I think he gets a little. That might be you know just the the nerves and the crowd in front of me wants to go out there and make every throw perfectly so i think at first he was a little ramped up. I was trying to force the ball. The wall a lot but i think he was little. He i think in the second half he. Derek settled down a little bit and started making some smarter. Plays with the football. And it's hard. Heidi you gotta you gotta rookie left. Good goes down pretty early on in the game. You got andre james. That's a young player. That's never started that snapping. So you have you have johnson. Who's a young player. You have a lot of inexperienced online and no preseason games you just thrown these guys out there hoping that their work. You got the crowd going nuts. You got the ravens defensive. Lineman claes campbell. It was a huge task. So i think early on it was partners. I think as park communication you saw. What the front with the bad snap. You didn't see a lot of bad snaps. Rodney hudson a derek carr. Let's be honest. So i think they have the find that groove. I think a couple of games can take a couple games to get used to each other. Practice practice scrimmages scrimmages once the pads. Come on a game comes on. It's a different animals big. It's going to take a little bit of time but you can't take time when you're playing the steelers you can't take time with tj. That's off the edge and cam here where it's coming up in the middle. So this line specially with the injury to denzel. Good they need to stay. Need richie incognito back. I don't know what his deal is. I don't know if it's just lingering from last year or it's a new injury or you don't know what it is from richie. They desperately need especially in still game. Guy chain cognate on the field. Hopefully you can get healthy and get out there fisher and just because you are talking injuries..

Who john you have them going. Five in twelve and decker. You have been going six six. Okay that's right that's under. I thought they could go seven ten. Oh i mean. I'm not a guy. Dabbles my lay in a bunch of chalk but mine is five hundred not to make the playoffs. Are you kidding me. I mean if they're going to give out free money like that right. And this is who needs an interest account where you can just lay the las vegas raiders not to make the playoffs at minus five hundred. I mean it's crazy that they're twenty two one win the division but only minus five hundred to make the playoffs for the lark. I think for for me to lose. They have to get to eight at the very least for me to lose. So i mean on the wind total yet under minus one of five. I think they're going to struggle to get back to eight eight nine. Like i'm gonna make that bet this year just just for fun. What did they make the play with. Absolutely yeah why. Not another thing four. Which i already do yeah. You're already rooting against the Yeah you're already rooting against the las vegas s. It is really fun to say raiders. I i will say they have that going for them. Micmac poll by the way made a i made a typo typo on and i said last. Vegas raiders decker. What are you doing for the prop. I just. I'm just gonna go conservative with us. And just take waller ninety five catches. i mean. i don't see him as a guy he's been consistent the last two years right. I mean. I don't know the consistency percent target share the and they. They haven't added offensive weapons to maybe kenyan drake is going to get some catches forty catches. Maybe i mean yeah i think that's. That's my lock ryan edwards Maybe he steps up john brown. Maybe he's i to me. Yeah i think. I think waller is one of the safest bets Dick olsson talking me into waller with the six pick and the f. fema pc main event Yeah so i. I like it feels safe. I'm gonna go I think this team is going to be playing behind. I do think that josh jacobs Getting a twenty carries a game is going to be something that happens Not very often. If ever so. I'm gonna take under nine hundred seventy five and a half rush yards. We liked kenyan drake and fantasy as a late round. Pass catching back. Nice nice floor. And obviously he could work themselves into something. Jacobs has found him his way into the doghouse before. Yeah i mean i'm with you. that's that's also what i picked as my prop really granted. He went over the past. Couple years he's been the league. This is third year. Gone over thousand both years i think this year he doesn't do it because like we said they blew up the offensive line. They have a tough schedule and they'll probably be playing from behind. And i wish. I grew broadened kenyan drake so he was under four rushing yards average last year. I wish i had written it down. But i think rodney hudson had some ridiculously low amount of blown blocks in the running game. And you think about it right. What was jess jacob's pretty good ad like bumping up the middle. So gotta hope they got back. It's replaced our final. What are we gonna do talk about summer. "It's very difficult to have consistency at the position. We saw lamar jackson. Go from all of your arguments. All the arguments last year would have been okay. Hollywood's gonna have you know he's got every reason to have a better year and and lamar is going to He's always going to give you this rushing baseline and it was a rougher ride. Does that exists for cuyler in your mind where i think the reason mahomes is there is because you have a longer sample of elite quarterback consistency. That's it and a little bit. More of a guarantee. At the at the touchdown in terms of not rushing but passing like. I would bet my house. On patrick mahomes touchdown totals being above a certain level before any other quarterback in football. Yes completely agree with you. The the difference. Though between lamar jackson and keiler is the passing work right. Lamar jackson was He he was inconsistent even though he has that russian baseline his breakout year was thirty. One hundred passing yards right last year. Twenty seven hundred passing yards. That is not like with the arizona. Carl cliff kingsbury offense and cuyler passing ability. He's he's gonna i mean. Four thousand yards is pretty much guaranteed for cuyler eleven rushing touchdowns is probably not guaranteed for cuyler not guaranteed but obviously indicative of what he can do around the goal. Yeah and the the floor is safe. You saw very safe. I mean he he takes care of it inside of the As far as like running ball inside the five he had eight carries heap. He frequently calls his own number. And so i have. I have cuyler as my number one guy as well in in his. I don't like the early quarterback in in terms of spending a high pick on them but kyla who drops into the fifth round. Sometimes as he's at least interesting you talk about these top guys right now. He's zero six in there are just. There's there's wide receivers in the fourth round that i would a hundred percent of the time takeover cuyler he can get. I've seen him get into the fifth round where i will draft him in the fifth round. there's kind of a break and wide receivers they're So if he drops. I'm willing to draft him. But even though he's my number one. I probably ending up with him in the fourth round and a improved offensive line. They've the acquisition of rodney hudson Superstar center that they took her trade for from a from the raiders. "You look at the impact in game you you look at what teams had to do to stop you use and what you did when even when they set their whole defense or offense to time to take you out like what were you like where you we know it when we say and we know that sterling sharpe was a problem you talk about a guy that his entire career has never had less than a thousand yards in a season and i don't even think he played in a whole sixteen games led the league in receptions. Three different times right is also left. It led the league receiving three times only place seven years. And if if he's a guy that had over a thousand yards and that's dollars. Yours is the gold standard for receiver. He's never had less than a thousand yards. How the hell is the united hall of famer. The other thing that we talked about is you know. I've even seen our colleague. Jeff saturday's named thrown out there and deep on those lists five. It's probably more in the. I don't know if i will quit sad. I don't know how you quantify greatness at the center position. These tell me is easy if somebody gave up. No it's about the saxes about the domination is about your ability to really be impactful in the run. Game is impactful and also being guided. Most centers are good in run game but may not be good as far as past protection like we know where we see we. I know for fact. I don't you'll have to ask me. I can look and say okay. The hall of fame is reserved for great players. In my opinion. Nick mangold polcy. Rodney hudson hall of fame. Okay and this came up. Obviously recently when julian eshelman retired and people were trying to say that because of his post season career he should get some consideration for the hall of fame to which a lot of people said now. Man that's bunk that's bull. Let's not even it's okay for guys to have been very very good especially in the postseason because that's when performances matter the most and not be in the hall of fame and i think we need to wrap our brains around that distinction like there has to be alleged has to be a line of delineation between the greatest to play the game at their position. And then those who are just really really good. Maybe even especially good during crunch time but still don't deserve to be in the hallowed halls of canton. I mean jewish elements should be extremely proud of his career. He's got rings ring russell's like listen. Everybody can't listen. Hall of fame is the best of the best. You already part of the one percent. Stephen make nfl. And if you're able to be as good as an element was and be able to be as clutch as he was. I mean i think you know. Getting the admiration of his peers is enough. You know i mean but hall of famer at some point we gotta we gotta draw the line and even within the hall of fame. You got the hall of famers hall of famers right. You've got guys like people don't realize different levels in the hall of fame know. Some people got got got the sweet some people just in general admission. What i'm saying. It's nothing to be ashamed though but we gotta agree at some point we gotta have. We got so many people wind has got to be a top five of the top. Five right yomas like a big difference between and i think that it goes back to what i said before about the guys where you just look at them and you know like the guys that you inducted into the hall of fame and you didn't need to list their resume you didn't need to tell about their accolades. You could just say their name. Brett farve people going up hall of fame rivers. You gotta paul's rat manning going in this weekend no questions asked hall of famer. He became cardiac kemba at msg. "Not that i'm a huge nba fan but You know watching the finals and as you said bridges and eight and coming into his own where i remember a couple years ago people going. Oh man he's a boston. And why did they pick him where they did. And now he's settled in with that leadership of chris so it was just it's fun to see and it's reminiscent a little bit of of our run and i think a lot of championship teams. You have those different pieces and as you mentioned this team has the pieces a lotta great role players playing their part with a couple of great leaders and and great players spearheading this thing and it's just it's been fun fun to watch the way they carry themselves in humility by which they play and it just it's fun and i really hope that they can finish this thing off and it's an excellent analogy there. Kurt where you're you were. The the older guy coming in in arizona and leading championship. Ron and chris paul doing the same thing here in you being An excellent basketball player in your own mind. Do you equate your game with chris. Pas as well. Kurt like you say that in my own mind. Yeah i like to think i'm a good basketball player and other people's minds to but you're right in my mind No no nothing like chris paul. When i played back when i played football i pass the ball a lot. Okay i play basketball. I shoot the ball a lot okay. I'm more like the booker Y you know. Pick up basketball games at the house. So unfortunately i can't i can't say i deliver and i'm dropping dimes from that standpoint. Completely different from. Chris fall when i played well. And plus you broke your face. Playing basketball like devon booker right. That's another i did that. I feel like if you remember well in the middle of the nfl season a couple of years. I did break my job plane. So you're more booker. That's a good point. You're more book you booker. And paul i play with my face. Kurt warner here on the rich eisen show. i guess what. what do you think. 'cause i was watching larry call the action on the match d. Do you think he's done. I want you to speak for him. Nobody does but what do you think. Do you glean anything from those conversations at all. You know i mean. We don't talk a lot about that. We have talked about it over the years. And i always got the sense that You know he was one season away that you know. He could've retired at any point in time as long as he felt like he could contributes to a team as long as he felt like the team had a chance to be successful And you know. He'd liked his role on the team that as long as he was healthy. He keeps coming back now. I really thought this was going to be it for him But i think the longer this thing plays out the more. I kind of think to myself. I think he might come back. You know. i'm i'm really surprised. We haven't heard anything at this point with training camps a month away or whatever and to me it just kind of lends itself to to him coming back but the one thing i will say about about fits is. He's never wanted to make anything about him. And so i wouldn't be surprised you know as they get right to training camp and there's buzz around the league of all this other stuff that maybe he announces that then so we could just kind of slide under the radar and it's not you know it's not worldwide news and again obviously. It still will be hilarious. Gerald retires but you know what i'm saying is that right. He's not on the front page and he's not the only story. Because that's never been. Who larry fitzgerald is that he might just try to slide it in You know at the last minute where they can't make a big to do about it but Yeah i just to me. It feels like i think they've built some things they you know put. Jj watt and jay green and rodney hudson and added some great veterans to the young talent that they have that you just feel like this could be a year that you know. The cardinals kind of turned the table. A little bit and get to the play offs and who knows make another run. And and i know he desperately Wants to do that. He desperately wants another opportunity at a championship. So think how he feels about this team and where they're at You know could go along way and deciding he tells retirement or does another year. Few minutes left with kurt warner here on the rich eisen show and also on the match you saw iron rogers just play out of his skull place in some excellent golfing leading into that. He was talking about how he's worked on his mental Approach in his mental calmness in removing negativity from his life. And i thought my man he he was doing that last year was the mvp and now he's even got more of potentially zen qualities coming in. We got to see him play. I wonder how you honestly got to see him play. I wonder what you think now that you know. We are a couple of weeks from training camp remove. What you think is is going on there will happen. I mean i've always said that. I just i believe he will play in a packer. Is that i just. If you're the packer. I don't know if you can let it play out any other way. I've got to see him. Not play before i'm gonna think about making any moves to let him out the door. I mean he's just two special of a player he means too much. He makes your team so much better And just the leadership that he brings and as you said the communist that he brings me you talk about where he's at now. I've always thought he's handled himself extremely well. In terms of being able to handle whatever comes his way and not getting too excited about it. I mean we all remember the the relaxed and all of those things that he's always handled himself that way. Really really well. And i believe you'll do that again this year. Even though it's been kind of a crazy off season. I think he'll come back and battle with his guys Unless they trade him. And i think he will be playing it. I mean it just to me. It just makes sense and maybe i'm just being an optimist because i'm a huge fan of of the league and what he brings to the table and how he makes league better and I'm hopeful that he doesn't go somewhere else and then he stays in the back of all right before. I let you go kurt. I saw your instagram feed. And your twitter feed. Because i follow. You occurred on a friend a colleague And the photographs that you tweet it out in. I gede out from the set of the film based on your life zachary levi plane you and Anna pack when pro playing Brenda your wife..

"And how many third one for our fourth and once they had, they didn't go right around midfield. Normally they're gonna go for but I think Florence felt like I don't want to screw it up, and that's not make the plans because I went here, so let's put it away Toe. Game, and the Raiders somehow found themselves in the lead. But how marry 02 fish does not get in this game. Look, Taysom Hill came in for Bree's right played 45 games without me, so he's still in there. He's going back to the gadget. But he's probably now Sean Payton found out okay, He can shoulder more burden. He can throw the ball better than I thought. I just saw him in four games. So now I know we could do more things outside of just the little run plays and maybe on occasional passed by tasting Hill. Now I feel more comfortable, comfortable. Well, I'm the same way a farm coach Gruden. I saw what Mario did. Why can't he get it? It's on the secure line and a second that Why can't I bring him in there and run pass option because, you know, car coming off the groin injury is not running. He is not freaking running. And so that means he's one dimensional. And what happens with the Raiders? They get inside the five and 10 yard line, and they can't do. Jack is the sure the field shrinks down too many defenders and, you know, you can't just hand off to Jacobs. It's too predictable. So you gotta have some deception. And if you have a guy like car that's not 100%. I know he wants to. He doesn't Lose his job. He's a gamer. God bless him. Thank you for playing. But Mariana should have been in for 20 snaps and at minimum, I completely agree, and I also think they can't. But I'm saying this because the amount of yards and catches had this year they under used Darren Waller as well. Darren Waller is the best weapon they have on offense. He is a mismatch for every team that they play against, and he is so underutilized even with the catch is that he's had to me. It's absolutely ridiculous. But you're right. When you put in Marietta there at the six yard line from the team doesn't know what you gonna do with car back there. You know each other Any after Jacobs, which is too easy to stop, or he's got a pass it he's not gonna get out of the pocket is not good. Scramble it all. Marianne do. You have no idea it is. It is a name to me, even if it's not 20 snaps, even if it's just every time there first and goal from the five you bring in Mario to that to me works, and here's the thing. Henry rugs back. After Kobe's stuff, So he's fine. No hamstring. No, nothing. This guy is the if not the first fastest the second fastest guy in the NFL along with the Cheetah, Tyree Kill. So this guy how this guy does zero receptions targets twice. Are you freaking kidding me? How about handoffs? Let me see what he did. Okay, There we go. One carry seven yards. That was early in the game. And here's the thing When you look at his carries Okay, so seven yards, I will take that every time one first down. So if you give me Henry rugs in motion 15 times during the game, not three. Not 4 15 times right because you have no idea. It's not like drugs is getting tired. He's 20 years old. He's not tired. Trust me. The kid can run all day. So get that guy emotion when he comes by every third or fourth one. I'm flipping it to him. Go ahead. Take off. Turn the corner. If there's no one there. Good luck. They're not gonna catch it. But that's all on Gruden, isn't it? Is it everything? You got it? Gruden and Olson. They're they're putting the offense together. Coach crews got the final, say Coach Olsen. You missed the one game against the charges with the cove it end of the day. It's got to be a team deal and coach Gruden. Look, he's been around the game forever. Quarterbacks He knows so, Coach Gruden. I look like I said, I love you. I don't I've never met you in person. But I've been a fan of yours forever. The end of the day. How you did not have marry OTA in that game at all. Is unacceptable Toe every Raider fan that I talked to because we all saw what he did in a relief roll off the bench, ice cold coming in and playing a miraculous game against the charges. He was freaking out standing. Run pass option looked like he played seven or eight games. No, that was his first game and he had been banged up and and hurting on and a couple times wasn't backup. Peterman was I'm sorry man, and with a makeshift offensive line is banged up as they've been. Look. Rodney Hudson from playing hurt gave Jackson from playing hurt. We don't have incognito then. So good came off hurt that game, and he's been outstanding, called Miller's been banged up. You got to be kidding me, man. I mean, we're putting too much pressure on an offensive line when Derek cars in there for every play, and especially when Derek cars in they're coming off a groin injury because he's not going anywhere, So all it is is Miami's defense, and they're pretty good. Can just say screw it. We got one spot to go to guys, I'll meet you at the quarterback. But the problem is adult. All Derek Carr can do is play the game that he can play. So it has to be on Gruden to say no. We are gonna put pull you and put Marriott and and I'm sorry. I don't care how much we like the guy or how good he's been in the past. This is all on Jon Gruden right now. Yeah, well, I always call him coach because I respect coaches and s O coach. I hope you got give Mario to his shot against Denver. Maybe. I mean, you're playing to get to 500. I don't care. I really wanted him to play last game Because he was hot. It picked it up. He had played well enough. He should have been in there 15 20 snaps and that gives you another hand toe play. Why? Because you held your hand. Well, you held your ace in the hole with Miami, not knowing who starting car Which he nearly nearly slipped in a press conference to let him know that it would be car but still When we also Ah, that growing pop on car going to the sideline. We're thinking he's out minimum 15 days. Yeah, so give up. Give the guy credit who hurt his back couple years ago. Thought he's gonna be out for weeks. He comes back nine days later. I mean, Derek Carr is that guy? If there's a way that he could be out there, he will be out there. He does not want to lose his job. He wants to win. I get it. But even you, Derek should say, you know, coach, we're probably more effective if we both play. How about if Marcus runs a run pass option right here in the eight yard line on first, and they have no idea And maybe I'm even out there on the same play, and maybe I split out wide Marriott. It comes in like tasting Dylan Drew Brees do I mean, let's put some new stuff and there's some new wrinkles got dang it with that banana y crap. It's getting old. Everybody knows it. Okay, So do something different. No, you're absolutely right. And like I said, again, it's on coach Gruden. There is no other way to put it, and people may not want to say it because I know he's getting paid a lot of money. They lured him out of retirement to come back to this. But this is all on coach Gruden and I'll tell you this as far as money. He's got plenty money. He doesn't give him He wants to win, or he wouldn't be in the game. He could walk away. But he doesn't know. I know I have a head coach. He better want to win. But it doesn't look like he wanted to win that badly because the way the choices that were made in this game, all right, real quick. I hope he wants to win as much as the Blazers won 13 1 of seven Portland 58. Seconds to go fourth quarter. It's a great score for me because I'm an anti Laker guy, and I'm dealing with fish dealing with Ashley got Panish tomorrow. These Laker fans. They got these little flags that they drive around with them on their Come on, man. It's ridiculous. All right. Does that mean the world Championship flags by the way? What's that? The championship flags Because, you know, we are the champs. Okay, give you a little but you get do you get do you get the little bubble flag. Okay, That's good. Something championships. The championship, right. Real quick college basketball. Mama's ends up sweeping conditions. That's a good team. No battle for the Metro 96. 97 69. Drake sweeps Indiana State on the road. "I'm not I'm Copeland these your half past headlines for Friday, November 6th, 2000 and 20 get this Las Vegas Raiders have been fined $500,000 in stripped of 1/6 round pick in next year's 2021 draft. And Jon Gruden has been fined an additional $150,000 by the NFL. For what one source has described is a quote, brazen and repeated violation of covert 19 protocols. If you recall two weeks ago, Pro Bowl right tackle Trent Brown tested positive for covert 19, but because he was not wearing his mask or his tracer at the facility, other players who had come in contact with him. Colt Miller, Denzel Good, Rodney Hudson gave Jackson We're all deemed high risk contact. I had to self quarantine their game that was on national TV against the bucket here, Scott moved back. So now the NFL is taking action. Raiders get a Raider. That's the way that thing goes down. "To add together every game he's played since week nine of 2016. I mean, cool. That's a nice little cherry picked thing of data of a rookie versus the top centre in the game, but it sure on you know, I guess I would expect no less from the guy who said that Tom Brady was washed in 2013. The dude wrote an article for ESPN ESPN saying that Tom Brady was washed in 2013. Yeah, it's a mess and There's there's something I want to dive into just a little bit on those numbers, so Okay, fine. There's the face value. Sure you make that kind of cop would cushion very versus what is considered the best center in the mess. It's been a bit of a liability that you don't get me wrong, but that's a weird cherry pick theirs and where there's more things there's there's also something about The start of the season. First of all, no preseason games. So I'm going to say that part of his struggles could be in part, the not seeing any other NFL action besides just practices out there against the front Now, that was a good defensive front e win against But he wasn't even the starting center the entire time. Sounds like an excuse. Let me let me have a little deeper here. Head of those pressures. Came against the Bucks and Steelers. So the 15 he has 10 of them came in two games against the Steelers. And the Bucks and I want to point something out to the Steelers are averaging 30 pressures per game. The Bucks are averaging 20 pressures her game. These are very good defensive front. We'll let me go a step further with you. You're trying to tell me you're sitting there and you're telling me that a rookie center gave up pressures to Vita Van Dhammika Sue. Oh, my stars and garters all the all girl clutching. No, it's Of course he did Keep in mind. Also, he had Jeffress Kel Tweet this out, Ah, guy that every time he dropped back, like to read War and peace as he stood that back there behind the offensive line cover to cover 81% of the snaps. In those two games went to Jeff Driskel because he didn't play. Obviously full game is the Steelers because Sherlock started he started the game against have obeyed, but he got pulled. But he played in 81% of the snaps. And that dude was responsible for a significant amount of those pressures. How many sacks they have with Brett, Rip it Let me example let me give you an even grosser statistic. 97% of the snaps The drift Jeff Driscoll took. He took longer to get the ball out. In the 99th percentile of quarterbacks in the NFL, meaning he was dead last every snap almost in getting the ball out. So when you kind of combine all that the defense is they played The quarterback that was back there behind Lloyd Cushion Berry. I mean, in the end, there's a little bit of an asterisk there. Don't you think? The Rodney Hudson has had his share of mixed quarterback play? At times, their core has not always been great gets the ball like it's the other part of that, Derek or is one of the quickest to get the ball in the NFL? That's that you literally stole right in my mouth like that's the one thing that you can count on with their car. Even when he's having a bad season. He makes he gets the ball off. That makes an offensive line. Look better. Their car does now where they're not. Derek Carr is a good quarterback. What do you think about? He makes offensive lines look better by getting ball out quick now, Lloyd. She buries had his problems. I'm not tryingto. I'm not trying distracted, not a liability at times on the offensive line, but the idea that you're gonna put him up against somebody you consider to be one of the top two or three centers League. He's a bit weird to me. Answers shall weird comparison to make and then Oh, by the way, hey, was, as you pointed out, rightfully trying to protect the quarterback who gracefully charitably could be called slow in terms of getting the ball out. It was a liability back there. I against two defense is that considered top defense is in the NFL getting after the quarterback, so I, you know, it's a bit of a mixed bag. I mean, unlike Lloyd, I like Kush. I think I think he's going to be good someday, but the knock on him Passport coming out. He's he's had a few few issues out there, and I absolutely acknowledge that So the trends and he had four pressures given up against the Jets, but they didn't give him any sacks. The Jets interior. The defensive line is this drink is this trace their strength, said that coming in, said this is gonna be a tough test or blood cushion very because he came off the Steelers game into the Bucks game into the Jets game, and the one thing they do on the defensive side for the Jets is they get interior pressure. So we said there's going to be a challenge from no sacks given up. One of the things that I find very interesting about the upcoming match up against the Patriots. So again, you're talking about another good defense, and they are a good defense, especially the secondary. But the Patriots have a bottom seven past. Even if they get a lot of takeaways. They were four interceptions here believe no They have. I think they have eight. Hold on one second. Yeah, they've gotten their eight takeaways. They've got four interceptors for fumble recovery, Right? OK, has to say I thought it was right on that. Yeah, I hired to show Ryan I They're opportunistic, but no their 10th in the league against the past. The 10th top 10 in what Total yards allowed Net passing, Who adjusted net yards per attempt. Well, you can look that up. I could tell you what they are. They're seventh. Fortunately, OK, Well, not that passing their 10th not rushing there. 17 that way. What's net? What does that mean? Usually that that's that's the thing. No, no, this is this is just the stats the Broncos sent out. Okay, So usually that's that's the net yardage. Yes. Okay, So if you go to pro football reference And look at the team defense statistics. I always go and they adjusted net yards per attempt is the same metric I used for quarterbacks. This's it's It's a good number. It's a good metric on guy could explain that some other time, but it's a really good metric. It's that one with the highest correlation..

"About what it means to him to don the silver. And Black. It's a little bit weird I, think for a lot of people to see an in silver and black as he was a former cowboys tight end he was there for sixteen seasons and he spent a year in the ESPN broadcast booth and then he returned to the Gridiron Twenty nineteen and twenty twenty. Now, he'll be a raider silver and black like I said, and we're going to hear more from Jason witten throughout the. Show also today we are going to have on raiders, Safety Eric Harris what a ride he's had to the NFL man I mean there's only five others first of all on the raiders roster who've managed to keep their spot on this team since Jon Gruden and the Mike Mayo care began. Now there's Rodney Hudson Derek Carr gave Jackson Jalen Rashard Nicolas Moreau, and Eric Harris. We're GONNA talk to him about his name power not just. With the team but what it's taken for him to get through this crazy path that he had getting to the NFL and what that adversity taught him. But we are going to start off this interview here with Eric Harris talking about the move to Las Vegas and what the biggest change has been for him so far he also answered some fan questions for you guys and more. So here we go with Eric Harris on takeaways. How has this season been different than others? Obviously, there's a lot happening around Yupik new city different things happening in the off season with the programs and how they're going the virus was this one been different for you? just got thinking just Kinda know waiting out the next phase and waiting for the next baby suicide. That's been a big difference. So. Like. camp really worked for you as far as there's different people in the scope here with the roster, you have the whole different secondary and we talked about earlier. Mary Randall come in. Jonathan Abrams coming back. What can people expect to see from the secondary this year? Makers some guys that have played making ability. Are. Right. Now and. Goal right analysis have everybody on the same page and just trust in one another on that everybody knows his team and we Kinda just you know we all have our strengths weaknesses but when you play beside for so long on. Expect from right so. This is offbeat. Chemistry. Right, now you're in the headquarters I don't know what that was. The just came through sounded like a big sound like a small locomotive or something like we room. About one hundred yards away. I cool. Let's talk about that depth though I wanted to get into just because I think a lot of people have been hard if you will on the raiders secondary in the past couple years but you've been an integral part of how much improvement the secondary has senior year at what do you think about the debt so far and the guys around you Credit the staffer bringing in guys in. More depth It's been I mean the youngest of really been her incredible throughout the whole. Announced Walker now that we're all in together. On a great job being in the playbook and looked. About lasting aren't that many players right now on the raiders roster that were there before Gruden came to the team and came to the team. You're one of a handful of players. Maybe I. Think five others that are still with the team from the PRE GRUDEN era. What would you attribute? You're staying power on this team to? Just be myself and brings much energy. A duty is in. Locker door It's been a long journey for me. "And undrafted players that made that roster out of training camp with one to Renfro seventh round receiver being a big party your offense with Tyrone Williams your number one receiver being hurt going up against the best defense in the NFL and dominating them I bet you I'm the only person who has a national platform that's gonna say Rodney Hudson's name this week but Robbie had since the best center in the NFL he's been paid like it twice but she I mean after the kimpex injury which happened early for the bears I mean he dominated the interior of the bears defensive line which dominated the Vikings offense of line last week I mean the the bears held Dalvin cook to thirty five rushing yards last week and Josh Jacobs who the raider selected with the first draft pick a first round pick the bears traded for Khalil Mack John Jacobs behind Trent brown yeah he gets a lot of love the Robbie huts in the center they dominated the bears front seven today that was a very impressive win and then Jon Gruden talk that trash after the game so you do have a disco ball in there clearly mocking the bears and Matt Meg in their club dub very impressive for Jon Gruden number five as we do ten things at ten eastern week five the NFL speaking of Jon Gruden Jay Gruden E. "Know dax zeke in amari is the talk in dallas but why is no one paying attention to drive fred travis frederick edrich coming back in my opinion top-three center in the league is coming back to a great online and having heard a word about it. I'm gonna put this about as simply simply as i can. No one cares about offense lineman really until they're gone you know in this league the talking point quarterbacks and skill guys coaches. We don't talk about guards and centers. You know it's kind of hill kind of bores me and i talk about football living. Now i hear you. He's a stud if he's plan. They're in good shape if they can get their starting alignment on the field and z. comes back in dax. They're in a marriage. They're they're good defense really good. I i've kind of i mean i might lean picking the cowboys to the super bowl. I'm becoming a little less confident with zeke. He's come back from kabo of jerry's gonna trade him and what the hell's going to happen. Amari is kind of banged up with a bad he'll but i don't know so i. I just think it's simple. Did the people get the casual fan in most people that probably listen to this aren't like breathing twenty four seven football stuff and no every offensive line but fantasy fantasy football. You know the quarterback's you know the skill guys running backs. We just don't care about centers. You know even the best ones. I got rodney hudson my backyard rodney hudson. It's been a top. You know probably ten offensive lineman in the n._f._l. For five six straight years i bet most n._f._l. Fans can point them out in the lineup. Okay okay you think he's embarrassed this on well a._b._c. You think he's embarrassed about his dumb ass with the cryotherapy and his feet are worse than everyone thinks h._b._o. Boost for hard knocks and all the drama rama or just a diva and he's trying to prove a point to the n._f._l. All eyes on me or he's just proving a point to the raiders and his team that he's the man and he does what he wishes..

"Tom cable, which I am not a fan of never been quiet about that. I don't think he's had success, especially over the last few years or so last year. They release struggled to protect Derek Carr. And I look at the line. And yes, they've got a cold Miller, who had a lot of issues last season allowed many sacks tons of penalties. I think Brandon Parker he's either gone or probably not in the rotation more and they've got brownie outside. But on the interior gave husband, one of the better centers in the NFL. But then it's. Probably Rodney Hudson gave Jackson. The guard also was from that very good offensive line struggled a bit last year. And then they added Richie incognito, which is just bizarre for twenty thousand different reasons so podcast right there now. So while they've got so many leading skill players. You know, arguably one of the better wide receiver course, in the NFL Josh Jacobs, who adored I spent a whole POC with talking about Derek card. Why I think he was actually better at the end last season. The people give him credit for I do worry about this line. It can legitimate worry and Mia. We'll talk about the players, but I'm concerned about the coach anything else and your Seahawks fan. Everybody knows that Tom cable previously serve as the offense of coach. And there's just a threat that if you follow it, where he has been teams have generally speaking, underperformed before when he was there and then exceeded expectations when he was gone, and it's not personal. It's just a fact. Right. Maybe see offense with the main of the franchise existence. In a lot of guys are still there. Now, all of a sudden looking much more competent under Mike celery, these guys that you were talking about whether it's Jackson mother would star laceration speech to rock, but other than Rodney Hudson, basically every offense lineman last year with someone of turns out for Oakland and I I'm not trying to make this all about Tom cable, but I just don't know grammatically fundamentally they're going to be a top to your team regardless of the talented place. Now they've got to question boxer tackle, Colton. Miller. He referenced was some smoke that he would would move from the left side of the right side. He's the stay on the left side of the offense of line. He's put on thirty plus powers legitimately be player six nights. He Trent Brown was traded away for a bag of peanuts in the seventh round pick last year from the Niners to the patriots. Obviously, he had a really solid, you and, you know, the Super Bowl text add a couple of million dollars to your valued amount of what when you're free agent, but to make him the highest paid off its limit NFL history. You know, it, it comes with some riskier me, and it just this is a player who was traded, because it consistent play and beat huge. I mean he's legitimately massive me. I get a good thing for the office of line. But just wanna make sure that this is a player who's at peak condition because you're putting the right side of the offense line in the AFC west that means to Magic's year with von Miller and two more year with Joey Bosa or elven Ingram. Maybe even someplace in some. Both of them coming off with the same site. So it's a massive task for that offensive line. So talent your I think is definitely better. But I think you're concerned are legitimate. Yeah. And then on the other side of the ball, you know, obviously, the defense they absence of the pass rush was a running joke in the NFL last year. The raiders finishing after trading max inching with less Saxton, almost every team. I think the lowest. Lowest in Khalil Mack. Yeah. That's what to say. They finish with a lot of elite players thirteen sex, Jesus Christ. So. Yeah, it is rough. And they added Farrell Farrell with four pick which shocked people shot, you and me as we reacted to the draft in real time. But outside of that, not a lot of upgrades in that front seven I think they're counting on like marines. Hearst who was good last season. It was actually a great draft pick, given where they picked him up, dude..
