"Arizona was zero and 6 in the first half. Until the New Orleans game last week, which was 1414 with two minutes left, and then we had two pick 6s in a row. The cards last first half before that New Orleans game, they were one in ten, and they were outscored one 60 to 58. There's a bet you can do on FanDuel. Which is plus one ten, where Minnesota to win the first half. In Minnesota, when the game outright. So basically you're saying Minnesota is up three and a half time. And then they just continue it and carry it. I've been staring at it for two days. And I think this Minnesota team, four and out home, they're actually they're 5 O one. They look terrible in that Philly game. They've looked disjointed for most of the time, but they can move the ball. And I don't like this Cardinals team that the coaching quarterback got in a screaming match or I guess the coach didn't scream. The quarterback screamed at the coach. I just don't like what I see. And I don't know why this line isn't like Minnesota by 7. I don't get it. What do you think? Yeah, I've been looking for a spot to fade Minnesota because I think this past defense is just not real. I don't like Don tells the new D.C. there. It's extremely simple in terms of what he calls extremely obstinate in terms of what he calls. And that's a frustrating thing. I don't think Arizona is the team to take advantage of it. You're going to get your doctor Hopkins looks. You're going to get your one on ones versus pat feet, and they're going to be great. They did move Hopkins around. More than they ever have under cliff. We talk about we were joking about desperation with lions. The whole book on cliff was like he puts a wide receiver on the left side, and then he doesn't move him, but why are you in the right side? He stays there forever. Hopkins came back, they're putting him in the slot, they're switching sides with him, cliff finally grew up. He figured out the NFL moves guys around. Congratulations to him. Nice. They did do some creative things. I think if the Vikings lose this game, it's a huge Hopkins game. It's a huge Kyler game. It's a great, great, great passing game. If Minnesota is able to keep the shackles on that at least a little bit, Arizona's running game is not good enough. They have James Connor, hopefully coming back in this game, but they're offensive line is super banged up, Justin pews on injured reserve, back to our CEO questionable Rodney Hudson questionable Cody forward questionable DJ humphreys questionable. There's a way that the line just implodes depending on who can and can't play against what's a decent Minnesota front. And then offensively as you bring up. Minnesota should be better than they are, but they're still good. They move the football successfully. They have to get Justin Jefferson involved downfield more. Arizona might be a good opportunity to do that just because pass rush wise, Kirk's going to have a lot of time, but they can also run the ball really, really well. I guess what's a disappointing Arizona run defense always has been on advanced Joseph. I will say that Dalvin cook's efficiency numbers this year are back. I don't know what's going on with Dalvin and with the health and with the play style and everything like that. That's a lot of injuries. Yeah, Dalvin has been leaving a lot of meat on the bone. And so it's Minnesota is a very trustworthy running game along the line and in the play calling. I wish Alexander Madison were getting a few more reps. I have a hot take on this game. All right. It's weirdly a must win for Minnesota because the packers are in Buffalo and are 11 point favorites. I think they're underdogs. It's like the first time Rogers has ever been a double digit underdog. If Minnesota wins this and the packers lose, which they probably will, they'll have a four game lead on the packers. And this isn't like baseball where your garbage Philly's team, I'm kidding. I'm rooting for the fellas. But where the Phillies could be 22 and 29 and then somehow be in the World Series. It's a 17 game season. You fall behind four in your division. Not a lot of room to come back. They've already played once. Minnesota are already beat Green Bay. And it's weird to say this after 7 weeks, but man, it would be hard to see this weird packers team. Coming back from four down with ten games to go. I don't see it. What about when the bears have said the cowboys? And all of a sudden you got a four and four bears team, just floating around, just waiting in the wings. Make the case. There's not, there's not too much of a case, but you just took their second best offensive player. Yes, we did. And Quinn wasn't necessarily playing super well. I don't think Quinn was emotionally locked into the success of the Chicago Bears defense over the beginning of the season. However, Chicago came out and ran the offense against the Patriots that we have long been hoping that Luke gets you would run. And they've kind of been doing this circling the drain sort of a thing where every single week, they seem to get a little bit closer to what they want to be on offense. Week one they came out kind of packers inspired, you know, maybe a little more rollout. Okay, let's see what works. And then so on and so forth, it's every week to get a little bit closer. I think being the right thing they want to be on offense. Now I think the bears are a decently dangerous offense. Enough that I think 9 and a half against the cowboys is a little bit too much. Fields in and of himself, just such a difficult thing to handle week to week. Patriots know, right? You kind of walk in saying, okay, this is the guy to worry about the scrambles. People worry about the runs and then still he's able to beat you because he's just such a good physical talent. So the bears are volatile, but they run the football really, really well. And Justin Fields can get you some third downs with his legs out of 10.9 and a half point spread. Like we've seen the bears this season. They were in it late with Minnesota. They dominated New England. They're in a late with Washington. They tend to not get blown out, save for that packers game in week two. So to me, it's too big of a line bears cowboys. Yeah, I underestimated them, and I got to be honest. I didn't look at their first 6 in a way like, hey, should I be more nervous about this pat's game? But they beat San Francisco on week one. You write that off because it's terrible weather. Get killed by Green Bay. They beat Houston, but that's because mills through a terrible pick in the last two minutes when it was a tie game. They had the ball on his own end. Close loss to

"MO for years was, you know, our system will make these receivers good. And I think we're maybe getting back to that a little bit at this point, except for the half of the league that is giving up tremendous amounts of money and draft capital to get these guys. Right, there is certainly a divide and I think the market went a little haywire there. Which is causing ravens fans to react. But I would encourage your teams because again, everyone's saying, well, you can't, you can't replicate this, but you don't need to. What you need to do is you need to look at your roster and you just need to double and triple down on the things that you do best. And that gives you the ability to do it Baltimore is doing now. So let's flush this thing out. Third tier, the draft this year, they have two first round picks, and what do they do? Cornerback is another premium market that's going through the roof. Derek stingley got taken third. So the best cornerback in the draft is third. Baltimore needs help in coverage. So what do they do? Their first first round pick they take a safety. They spent their most money in free agency on another safety Marcus Williams. Who is going to come in about 10 million less than your number one cover corner in the NFL? But you've designed the things, much like they're doing with tight ends and they're passing game, you design your coverages to feature to be safety heavy, right, to be safety driven. So now you've Marcus Williams and Kyle Hamilton, Kyle Hamilton might have been one of the best players in the draft. I mean, you and I had him going third or fourth in the mock draft that we did, I think, on this show. And so what you're doing is Kyle Hamilton is just making mediocre cornerbacks better instead of having really good expense of cornerbacks making your mediocre safety's better. Than they did that with Tyler linderbaum, the center, maybe one of the best center prospects we've seen come through the draft in like ten years. And so Tyler linderbaum is going to make your average guards better instead of your left tackle and right tackle who are the most expensive thing, making your guards and centers better, right? And so it can work both ways. And for people who say it can't, look what the colts are doing. The colts didn't draft a left tackle this year because they have quint Nelson, right? They're like, hey, he's gonna help figure that out. We watch the Chargers try to contend for a playoff spot last year. And they had, I think it was what Trey pipkins at left tackle and one of the most critical games of the season, but you had Matt filer guard, who was picking up the slack. And I think that it's a cool thing out there because okay, left tackles are gonna cost $23 million a year. The best paid center in the NFL is, I don't know. What would you say? Guess what I look it up. I will guess 14 million. 12 5. Okay. 13.5. Oh, all right. Who is it? Frank Ragnar of all people. Yeah? Ryan Kelly, Corey linsley and 12 5. You know, Rodney Hudson's at ten. Mitch Morse 9.75. Jason Kelsey at 9. That's crazy value, right? It is. And the other thing is, look, if you go back to the pre Mitch Morse bills. And I realize other stuff went on there that allowed that often to take off. But the things they can do with Mitch Morse, which, you know, you can do a lot of similar things with Tyler linderbaum, theoretically, assuming he ends up being the kind of player that he is projected to be. It gives you some many more options than you have with just sort of a typical guy at the pivot. I think that's going to be he's a potential difference maker for that defense. Or excuse me for that offense. And I do want to talk about just the safeties for a little bit because look, if you go back 5, 6 years, what was the trend in the league? It was single high. It was Seattle style. Everyone wanted those types of dudes. And by the way, when Seattle started loading up on all those cornerbacks who are, you know, they didn't want the fast guys, they wanted the 6 foot two guys with the 34 inch arms, spaghetti men, baby spaghetti men, some might say. That was an inefficiency. And that's why it worked back then. And that's why it worked less and less going forward when everyone started looking for those guys. And the market basically became too expensive for them. But in like three years, right now it's all about these split safety looks. In three years, it might not be. I mean, you could argue that it probably won't be that. And you're gonna want some sort of versatility in the guys you have. And certainly in Kyle Hamilton, yes, he is a safety, but you can do so many different things with him in your defense. And there's kind of that whatever it sits, it's the classic clash of sort of approaches, do you want a kind of consistent simplistic defense where you can plug guys in right away and sort of hit the ground running, or do you want to build something out that's maybe a little more complex, maybe takes stick in these guys together for a couple of years. I would think the long-term payoff of having a guy like Hamilton who has that kind of flexibility in the lineup is going to really show up. Even if it doesn't show up entirely early in his career, although certainly whatever, yeah, playing with some split high looks. He'll do fine. Yeah. And here's the regret of it all, right? Because like you mentioned with Seattle, they went for an inefficiency. And they hammered it, and they cornered the market, and then everybody, everybody got on board. I'm thinking about all the teams that had the opportunity to do this. And then didn't do it. And the one that I think that you and I, well, let's see how good of a wavelength we're on because we complained about this team not doing something very particular for like two years and now it's impossible. Do you know what I'm talking about? Oh man, I don't, and I feel like a terrible friend and podcast host right now. The Arizona Cardinals not taking not just going receiver receiver receivers. All right. All right. I'm with you. Yeah, sorry. So if you looked at, you know, you were going to do some version of air raid, right? You knew you were going to run four wide more than any team in the NFL. And why weren't you, you know, I was just looking back at free agency 2018, 2019, 2020, you know, you could have players now, same caliber players who are going for, I mean, hunt to rent froze making $16 million a year. You could have had hunter renfrow ish, hunter Renfro lite for four and a half back then. You could have had 6 hunter Renfro for the cost of one hunter and for now. You know, hunter Renfro has become the avocado, right? Now he's a very expensive. When you could have just been having tons of delicious avocados for nothing back then. Filled up the freezer with avocados. Who else are we missing? Right? I mean, the Cardinals tried to build something that was cool and that was different. So why don't you double down on wide receivers? You're seeing it now with the forty-niners, right? Taking a lot of running backs. A lot of these teams, you know, you should just, you should identify what you're good at, you should triple down on it. Steve sable, the legend of NFL films, interviewed him once in his mount Laurel office, and he said, Connor, if you like something, by 6. He said, that was my best piece of advice. And I think that would be my best piece of advice for NFL teams, too. If you're good at something, buy 6. If you like lanky, rangy cornerbacks with long arms, buy 6 because two are going to get injured. One of them is going to get traded and.

"A. And basically push around. Everyone's favorite team the rams. Go down in this one and it wasn't particularly close it say Thirty seven two twenty victory for the cardinals game. They lead thirty seven to thirteen until the final two minutes. So lopsided victory here and we will take a setback about the cardinals and broader terms. But as far as this game goes we just kind of have to we are. We are legally obligated to recognize the magnificence of cuyler. Murray at this moment he's really making the offense go. He is the person who's doing exceptional things to make plays work. And i think that plays into the question of how sustainable this is because we saw last season that when he got a little bit dinged up and didn't have quite that same you know. Pull a rabbit out of a hat ability then. The cardinals weren't quite as good. So it's almost a little similar to russell wilson in the early parts of the twenty twenty season. Right be this. You know incredibly hot. Start and you wonder. Is this sustainable. And it's really hard when so much of it is writing on one main person. I wished that jenny could have seen the thoughts in my head because it was like she was just pulled him out for. That's what happens when you work with someone for the better part of ten years. So that's a good thing But i'd say i would say then to to peel it back a little bit. You know. he he's compensating for so much in. The cardinals are playing well right. I think like three of their five offensive. Linemen are in the top. Ten of espn's pass block or Run block win rate you know. Jj watts one of the best pass rushers in the nfl right now. But you're still asking an awful lot out of like third contract. Three-year-old plus veterans like aj. Green i think led the league led the team in receiving today And you know that matchup is obviously favorable which is why he got targeted a lot. But like they're asking a lot of people like jj watt chandler jones rodney hudson and You know i. I don't know four no beyond this sustainable but it is fun to watch like this peak of cuyler at at at his highest powers right now yet when they started to pull away in the first half. There were two where we're cuyler. Just it's just places making singlehandedly. He converted third and fourteen. To keep a touchdown drive alive. And he Sixteen to keep a touchdown drive alive. They would settle for a field goal there. But i mean that's basically eleven points there That you don't get if basically any mcivor murray's your quarterback because we see guys who do amazing things out of structure in this league. I don't know if they quite do it. The way that keiler does in arizona right now with just what doing with his legs and the way he's creating when there just isn't anything there for him. I will say the one difference between the cardinals this year last year. Defensively they're they're more capable. And i thought vance joseph did just an exceptional job with what was a pretty undermanned unit in the second..

"It is technically September, but no autumn wind in Vegas right now, it's not a Raider. It's more of an autumn heat stroke. Yeah, it is ferociously hot here, and it's been interesting guys, because, like I realistically had no idea what to expect. I got the Vegas yesterday. Frankly, my flight was packed with Raiders fans. The strip in Vegas has been packed with Raiders bands. Every casino has been packed with Raiders fans. They did a really nice job at the Mandalay Bay and the store where they basically set up outdoor tailgating areas at missing fans and you can walk directed the stadium from they're they're trying, but The most interesting thing to me all is that I got to the stadium hours before kickoff, and it was already passed because the stadium is domed and air conditioned in realistically everybody wants to see this place. It is insane. You couldn't move in the concourse. Three hours before takeoff. It is a madhouse. That's awesome. It sounds like a far bigger upgrade than where they used to play at the Coliseum. The last time they played in front of fans, Um we've been talking so much Jason about what's going on with the Ravens, considering the rash of injuries that I think we're forgetting all of the absences, or at least the departures that the Raiders are going to dealing with entering the 2021 season. So I want your opinion. Who are they going to miss more between Nelson Agler, Gabe Jackson, Rodney Hudson and Trent Brown. And by the way, three of those as you know, our offensive lineman Yeah, I think Rodney Hudson the number one portion of that I'll say this. I don't think Nelson angle are made Derek Carr last year. I think vice versa. Derek Carr made Nelson I'd lost. So I think cars been underrated ability hasn't underrate ability to maximize his wide receivers. But Car does not play well. When people get into speak. He's got a great relationship with Rodney Hudson. So they replaced Rodney Hudson center that makes all of the line calls with somebody that's played basically two thirds of a football game professionally. So James is going to be an interesting question. Market center the entire interior of the offensive line, which we now know is without Richie incognito for this game. Is going to have issues so the Raiders could have issues on both lines. Frankly, I'll be honest. I mean, the breaking news we got about half an hour ago is that former number four overall pick Cleave Pearl is a healthy scratch for this game on the defensive line. So you're talking about a player that was expected to be a huge rotational peace, especially in this game, taking on a team and the Ravens try to run the ball creatively. There now, without a player that was drafted fourth overall. I mean, that's a question mark personnel, but it's also a question mark to what the Raiders think they're going to do in this game. They could get really feet up on both mind. Spinning fit. Sarah, Spain, Courtney Cronin infer fits, but he's with us here live from Allegiant. You know, we talked about this last week fit. You weren't sure what to expect. And I know the game hasn't started yet. But for those who aren't processing and thinking through the Raiders experiences deeply as you are, can you explain some of the concerns about what it will be like to be in that stadium? I know you already mentioned. There's not really a tailgating seen. People are kind of hanging out in casinos beforehand or heading in early Is there, concern about? You know the club vibe, the DJs the bottle service that you won't have as much of a of a home field advantage. I think the entire lower bowl like not the lower bowl. As you say, the entire floor level is going to be fairly disengaged, walked around the stadium today and saw you know here is the VIP room for Caesar's. There's a VIP club for the win. Here's the VIP entrance for Ngn. So all of these floor levels are going to be a little bit detached. That being said, I'm stunned by how many Raiders games I've seen in the building. That I saw in Oakland when I would go to games there, so I think the rest of the crowd is going to have some familiarity. But guys, one thing to keep in mind is that Derek Carr actually said this week in the press. Remember what we have the ball? We need you to be quiet because So far Stadium that was built to be acoustically loud for football, even in the preseason, was making it hard for the Raiders to get this snap off, So I think, frankly, we got to remember that Vegas has never had an NFL team and barely has a college football team to do with LV. So I'm not sure what to expect from this car, but I think it's going to be complicated early on, particularly as they try and figure out how to navigate this. Ending week one in Las Vegas. And I guess we finally get to put to bed any of the speculation about Jon Gruden after this point about whether he stays whether he goes, how much of the hot CDs and we finally get to figure out is that how hot that seat is? What's riding on him this season? As far as the pressure from your perspective, considering the contract and kind of where he's at in this rebuild that he started a few years ago. Well, the biggest thing that they've always used as an excuse at the roster, and it's a little bit disingenuous to assume that the roster was developed by Mike Mayock without Jon Gruden having involvement at every step of the way, so It's this team doesn't make the playoffs. Mike Mayock done and he knows that he's echoed that sentiment a few times and frankly, Mark Davis has said, has said in public. That's a great sentiment. But I got to see him make the playoffs before I really buy what they're saying right now, which, I think is staggering Honesty from an owner, so the real question becomes the Jon Gruden want to be the head coach somewhere where he doesn't always get to pick the personnel because I think realistically good in the coaches done a pretty good job. Fruit in the GM. Is that awful? So can they find some way to better maximize the draft to get better players in the building? And if they can't then group is going to have to decide if you the coach somewhere where he doesn't get final say on the roster of the answer to that is no. I think that the seat actually gets a lot hotter. This Raiders thing falls apart. And Jon Gruden. I wouldn't be surprised if Jon Gruden take a TV gig just right off into the sunset. Since we have invoked his name. I have to let you according to his Jon Gruden gone yet. I'm sorry. Is Gruden gone yet dot com The.

"Improve their roster. They brought in a couple of veterans they brought in JJ watt a defensive end. And wide receiver, AJ, green. So a lot of people don't realize there's one move the Cardinals made that I go, oh, that's a big deal. And people aren't talking about not a lot of people talk about special teams. The Arizona Cardinals signed veteran kicker Matt prater. And that was a much needed upgrade. Their kicker last year, missed a couple of field goals in key moments and the end of games. And now, unlike last year, Arizona has a reliable veteran kicker, a guy they can trust at the end of a game to make a kick when they need it. And adding Matt prater is a big deal for Arizona. Now, they also traded for new starting center Rodney Hudson. They only gave up a 7th round pick to get him from the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, I will say, despite adding Rodney Hudson, the offensive line for Arizona. It's still a question for me. I'm particularly skeptical of right guard Josh Jones and right tackle Kelvin beachum. This offensive line, they're making progress. They're not as bad as they were last year. But they're also still not where they need to be. And I frankly do not trust this offensive line at all against teams like Cleveland or Indianapolis or San Francisco. Teams that have a good defensive line are going to force Kyle Murray run around a bunch and survive and extend plays. And I don't think that they're going to beat a team that's got a really good defensive line because of their offensive line being such a weakness. Now, the Cardinals have running back chase Edmonds I really like him. He's a stud, and they also brought in former steelers running back James Conner. But the strength of this football team, like buy a mile. And it's kind of an unusual one for an NFL team. The strength of this team is their wide receiving corps. They brought in AJ green from Cincinnati. He's a stud former pro bowler and they're pairing him alongside incredible receiver. Maybe the best receiver in the NFL Deandre Hopkins, plus they have Christian Kirk and Andy Isabella, I'm also excited to watch rookie receiver rondale Moore out of perdue. This is one of the best if not the very best receiving core in the entire NFL. Now it's a weird thing to be dominantly good at because receivers are great, and they certainly alleviate a lot of pressure. But if you're a quarterback on his back, getting hit all the time, it's not going to matter. So offensive line is key for the Arizona Cardinals. And they got to get the ball out of Kyler Murray hands really quickly. I hope they move them around a lot outside the pocket rolling them out or hopefully extends plays. Now, Kyler Murray they're starting quarterback though. Is unbelievable. And thank God this guy can run. He's one of my favorite young quarterbacks in the NFL. He's got a massive arm. I know he's a shorter quarterback, but kyla murra's arm strength is actually supremely underrated. Go watch him in college. He made a throw against West Virginia,.

"Make nick martin expendable they get one of the best running centers in all the nfl. Nick martin gay. So that helps a raiders team that could pass the ball last year but couldn't run away from coal. It's no does it make nick. Martin expendable order. They put more see down on the practice squad which i don't know that he would stay there. A team would pick them up to make room for samyong. This team is exponentially better. I wanted to ask you right there. You talked about the offensive line and how it's been restructured. They broke wreck. Samyong as you mentioned there. What does that mean for some of the others that they've drafted that they've brought in acute talks about a nick martin samuel coming back. He showed a lot of versatility last year. He could play different positions but he also suffered a lot of injury. He would come in he. I think it was at least three games that i can recall where he played. Maybe a quarter before. He's hurt had a knee issue. That seemed to be ongoing. How reliable is he going to be. Just even if it's a depth piece. How reliable consume young beyond this offensive. Line another great question by you. Heidi i think when you look at him. That's one of the things. No one doubts. Sam young's ability when samyong is on the field and i think this is where ota's or such a good thing for the raiders. He's gonna have the demonstrate through ota's and training camp. I can stay healthy. And i can stay reliable if he's able to do that then i think he's definitely got. It's got a really good shot at making this roster but again you you nailed it. He's back because he wasn't making gave jackson or rodney hudson money and he's back in if he can prove to stay healthy. Then this is a guy who can have a fighting shot at making this roster but right now in listen. How fortunate or the raiders. They have the best offensive line coach in all of football. "Who might be desperate to bring some of those pass rushers in because they're out there, But I'm excited. Talk about some of the story lines. Around the NFL in terms that teams that are most interesting to me going into the year and I'll compare him. Some of the teams I thought were most interesting last year going into the season, some of those panned out. Some of them certainly did not. We wanna hear from you a 55 to 1 to four. CBS for 2 to 7. Ryan Wilson from the pick six podcast going to join the show in just about 20 minutes. We'll get his thoughts on the Green Bay Packers. What's going on with their Rogers because you cannot do a show today without weighing in on a Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. These things are continuing to heat up. I know you might be bored hearing about it because it's every day, the daily drumbeat Packer stories, But right now it's still one of the signature stories. But yet Green Bay did not make my list of most interesting teams going into the season. So I did this last year. And I found some of my old note. And one of them one of them. I was most interested in the New England Patriots a year ago. And how did that pan out? Actually not very well at all. They were interesting. I couldn't wait to see how Bill Belichick And Josh McDaniels would move on with Cam Newton. I was excited to see how that would play out, and then you watch the games. And you're like, No, This wasn't interesting at all. This team was not interesting. They're basically a 500 team, actually. Well, they go 79. I thought all things considered. They did Okay, considering the opt outs. No Tom Brady. But in the end, they were not a fun watch. They were actually really hard on the eyes, trying to see what they would be able to do last year. I thought I'm biased. I thought the Browns were one of the big story lines. Baker really because he was coming off one of the worst quarterback seasons in the league. And a year later that panned out. They ended up being a big time. Watch their on national television a bunch they made the postseason. And they were exciting. I was curious a year ago. What would happen? With Some people thought he was a hall of Famer. Some people don't It's always a storyline that would come up are the Colts. The colt. And how that would play out. With an aging Philip rivers and they were okay. They were kind of interesting. I wouldn't put them by the end of the year is one of the top five. They did Go 11 5. A pretty good season. So here is my list this year. And I'll start out with the Arizona Cardinals. I know eight Nate last year. What'd he do? But Tyler Murray is entertaining every time he's out there on the field. I think in some regards last year, he kind of took a step back from what may be the expectations were but still entertaining. We know that they made these big swings in free agency for players over the age of 30. That normally is not advisable. I think a lot of Ah lot of smart GM's would say Wait a second. Bringing in JJ Watt AJ Green. Malcolm Butler, is that Is that really all that smart? They lost. Kenyon Drake. From a team that was six. In rushing last season. They do have DeAndre Hopkins. They do have chase Edmunds They brought in James Connor. Try to help. He was kind of a disaster last year in Pittsburgh, but maybe that was the offensive line. Maybe take solace in that. Pro Bowl center Rodney Hudson added. They brought in the guard from Buffalo, Brian Winters. He started nine games last year. They did a pretty decent job. I am fascinated by the Cardinals. I want to see how they do this year. I'll be watching anytime. Cuyler Maria's quarterbacking. I know it is. Not exactly Your standard quarterback set up. And I would say that their head coach is on the hot seat. I think it's fair to say, but they made some big swings. They did Go eight. Nate last year. I know a lot of people criticize JJ Watt for going there when he had other organizations like the Browns. He had good teams that were after him. And he ends up instead going to Arizona and people are like well, is that the best fit? I still think this is gonna be a lot of fun to watch. And it's make or break For Kyla Murray. Why I thought took a little bit of a step backwards last year. I know everybody remembers the Hail Mary, and that was incredible. And he had some Unforgettable moments because that's the type of quarterback the Cuyler is, But can you take A huge step forward much like we saw Baker Mayfield last year much like we saw Josh Allen last year. I'm not expecting Him to go toe. What Josh Allen did, which was being M V P candidate. And then What is a J green have left in the tank after kind of a forgettable comeback year. In Cincinnati, where starting quarterback went down. You know in the middle of the season. So I'm penciling The Arizona Cardinals. They're one of my most intriguing team storylines for the season. I will then stay out in the NFC..

"Moving to california from. Mississippi was the first step. And i don't even wanna give away the rest of the book so we're gonna make sure that we give that out as we get into the rest of the show but when i mentioned earlier that this was a big year for you. You've been inducted into the pro football hall of fame ford hall of fame fans. This is a huge thing for you. You got to be inducted in the same year as charles woodson and tom floridas first of all just speak to that. What did that mean to you as a fan to be able to be inducted in such year for the raiders. First of all heidi destiny recognize or you do passionate. The was the ultimate honor but to go in with two leads. That's i call a rakish traffic and we probably won't see something like that in our lifetimes but all the stars align You know the higher being that always pray to daily. Just move things and open doors and it's all about timing and when you have that wisdom to see that time and can take full advantage of it are you influenced like i say millions of people. That's coming behind. You said that In an interview on raiders dot com. The you're skeptical about even entering the contest. What prompted you to make the decision to enter it. Well i was. I was advised to enter it From some executives and i took off one word and i just ended. I say reluctantly Because i think. I had entered some years in the past and was kind of disappointed in the outcome. So you know. I had my own views about it. So i just pullback. There's other things that i can turn focus. Thank you and tell them floor has had a similar journey. Get into the hall of fame so now in the ford hall of fans. That's great for you very exciting. So this season as we look to twenty twenty anyone getting started up here for the raiders voluntary. Ota's they've said they're not going to be a part of that right now but when you start looking at another season and the hope that there could be fans this year because we've heard from one of the board members of the stadium authority board who was appointed by governor here in nevada That guy was bill horne buckle. He also runs lamb. Gm's with that said that he's expecting the stadium to be full this year. What kind of hope does that give you as a fan. We just wanna be there hired when they took it all hit the first together and get inside fellowship with each other. Leave some of our dna in there and I think the death star will actually be christian property. We can all come together looking forward to a love it right so let's talk a little bit about some of the offseason. Wanna get your take on some of the moves. The raiders of made letting rodney hudson go will trading trading a lot of the offensive lineman. Some moves made With defensive players being added..

"And i'm joined with my old friend. Miles simmons today. We're going to get into the raiders free agency. We're going to great for you. We're gonna break down the moves talk about the good the bad the ugly and we're also going to take a look ahead to the nfl draft and get involved in some. What might be going on with. Jon gruden mike mayock head as we start looking at the nfl draft coming up here. At the end of april we are also presented to you by the las vegas review journal and presented by hustle by blue wire alright miles first of all welcome to the show. Thank you for coming on. Thank you again for having me. Heidi this is nice to be back in. Always good to talk to you especially when we get to talk football yes. I love football as you know. I love talking with you. Especially miles is now with pro football. Talk for those of you. Who missed the move. He is a big another move. Yeah you know my many jobs. That i've had over the last eighteen to twenty months. Yeah evening google. We don't know about big time but you know it's good it's good. It's good later on. One of those documentaries like hey i knew him when abe let's get into it here first of all i want to start by breaking down the raiders in free agency in some of the moves that they have made the first that i think was most perplexing for some of the fans especially is what happened with the offensive line gave jackson. I think everybody knew somebody that might be moving on. But when you saw rodney hudson go. And then what they did with some of the restructuring and trent brown going. What were your initial thoughts on. What the raiders had done with their offensive line and kind of going into the draft looking like they need to make some moves still to round it out. I think the least surprising was trent brown kind of being on his way out. And i think when you hear mike male talk about you know the best of ability being availability in how trent brown is a really good dominant player when he's healthy and when he's available you just kinda feel like man. This thing just doesn't seem like it's going to work very well. Between trent brown and the raiders. And that's unfortunate because trump brown's a really good player. And i agree with mac when he's out there when he's healthy..

"We have a special guest l. expert. Shane teacher is back to help us break down. What happened in this crazy off season and yes it was something to behold no doubt about that but i you know how we like to start things here on the ball and buds podcast with omar's overture. So let's kick this bad boy off. We yes sir. The nfl free agency period has been on shoutout emo p anyways just firing on all cylinders. Let's start. oh my raiders. You know just ridiculous. What is jon gruden doing out in vegas. They've been busy and free agency. But not signing those impact free agents right not signing the way that most of the raiders fans would hope including myself. He spent all that money. All those draft picks to get that offensive line built up and then over the past. You know well this offseason especially but the past couple of years is torn it down and we have one of the top five top ten offensive lines and league one of the best lead and now we don't have it anymore. So now derek card judge it was gonna be running for their lives. I don't know what we're gonna be doing. But the way that he dismantled. Agape jackson rodney hudson trent brown or gone the one that blows my mind. The most bizarre is the hudson one. This dude is giving up three sacks and six quarterback kids since twenty fifth teen. Let me say that again for you. Three shacks six quarterback hits in six years. He didn't get hurt. So we've been playing and before that when he was kansas city. Who was dealt too. So he been good everywhere he goes he gonna be good in arizona man well. The change actions saved us with the other ones as well lamarcus joyner and some other saved us about thirty million maybe a little more versus a cat what they do with it because we still got a bunch of holes in a roster. The defense is horrendous now. Lies in good are skill. Players are young other than derek carr. So you know mike. Mayock has a ton of work. He needs to do down in vegas. So whatever is going on in las..

"A lot of faith in him to be able to to step into some shoes on the. Oh line and a lot of people have been drawing. Darren waller comparisons to him and in that sense. I mean and the respect that the raiders got to see. Darren waller for glimpses Just prior to the year that he became a starter so with that being said how much faith do you have in andrei james being able to fill the big shoes. That rodney hudson left behind. I'm not gonna. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I don't feel great about it to be honest. Because i don't know what andre james's if it's it's it's to your point if anybody said they knew what darren waller was before darren waller was what he has. Now they'd be lying because there's just not enough the sample size james got into a couple of games. He played a little bit. He's moly came out as a guard so he's not even a true center. So it's really really. It's almost impossible to say. Look i'll take the coaches stance on it. And if they're high on them you have no choice but to be high on him. He's got a call out the defense. Now he's got to develop the relationship. Derek carr he's got to develop the relationship with the guards and you hope that he could just put on his shoulders and run with it. But it's a it's a tough transition. It's a tough like we sat tough shoes to fill and pro bowl. Guy like rodney hudson but centers nine an easy position to play. You have a lot of things going on. you've got gotta be a cerebral guy. You have your head on the swivel most time so it. It's really tough to say. I wouldn't be doing a justice. I sit here and say that andre james is going to be at level hudson. He needs to be at the level of rodney hudson because he was so good he needs to be just a stabilizing force and not let know the rest of the allied suffer because he's struggling because if that's the case but that's why like signing mcmartin nick. Martin is started a lot of football games in national football league. So if you get into training camp and andrea james struggling a little bit. Maybe andre james shifts over the guard. Put nick martin at center and you have guide a you have a guy. That's played senator national football league so if they didn't sign a guy like nick martin. I'd be really really worried about it. But would a veteran on the football team that you hope for the best one hundred james and of the coaching staff is right and this guy is going to be a star than the raiders had hit the jackpot again. Speaking hitting the jackpot. I wanna get your take on somebody that another guy i was. Not anticipating that the raiders. It'd be taking a look at during agency and that name is kenyan drake. I thought they might look for somebody else. Maybe a little bit more low budget. Let's say somebody that wasn't as costly as kenyan drake would be to the team But what does this do for the run game. When you look at what jon gruden has done in the past always kind of a two headed attack at the in the backfield. And he's done in the past with the raiders. He did it with tampa bay. And now we're going to maybe see that. Would drake and jacob shaking out in the backfield together. So what do you see when you look at those two up in the backfield. Let's not put this any other way. This kenyan drake was a gruden shiny new toy. Offseason in couldn't have you know he couldn't have the poor she couldn't have the lamborghini probably wanted to top one of the top wide receivers and something like that to go on his offense. Because that's just how jon gruden roles but kenyan drake is at nice little chesapeake. Said he can move around. And it's probably a lot of money on everybody's freaking out about the money but it's not a lot for guys can contribute. We all love josh. Jacobs as raider fans we see josh. Shaka's we see how good he is at times. I get mad when he's off the field but we we've seen over the past couple years jacobs inability to play all sixteen games. He gets nicd up. He runs really hard. Kenyan drake is going to be a guy that's going to be look what they did with devante booker last year. Devante booker was in every third. Set downs for this football team and he contributed you. Expect that a lot from kenyan drake. Kenny drake's split out moore's receiver. You can have them in motion and slots think about the kansas city chiefs. Do with a lot of guys. And i'm not saying kenyan. Drake is like tyreek hill. Or anybody like that. But i think he's a piece to this offense defenses have to respect jacobs's in the backfield and you split out four wide and kenyan drake is in the slot. He's going to be covered by linebacker. Maybe a safety something like that. You can get matchup nightmares. I don't look at kenyan drake as a backup running back. Kenyan drake is a coal running back. And that's not a shot at josh jacobs to say that josh shakeups is not a guy that's capable. Josh jacobs is hundred percent. Guy that's capable. Who gets better as the game goes on but with kenyan drake about match ups in the national football. It's about jon. Gruden run in his offense. And if you're gonna roll with the original role with henry ruggs bryan edwards john brown and these guys and hunter renfrow. You're gonna want a piece like kenyan drake on the field a lot. So that doesn't mean he's going to get more touches than josh jacobs. I just think it's a nice complimentary piece if you're going to go out there and spend big money on a receiver. You're going to go a little average. John brown bring him in who i love. I think is going to be really good for this football team. I like the ability for kenyan drake to come in here not only as a running back. Not only to split out right passes. I love him on third down. I don't know what that means to gentlemen rashard. Maybe he is the guy that's on. This football team comes up timber. But i love kenny. Drake's ability to catch the ball at a backfield. I think he's going to be a nice weapon for this offense. Yeah he's just mentioned. John brown the name there. And how under the radar is that because he spent a lot of the last season injured Not as much visibility from what he's capable of was seen. I mean i think when you start looking at the past seasons when he's been with other teams that he's done really well for himself in different positions on. I think that they needed to fill the shoes. The agholor left behind and that he is very much going to fit into the offense. The way i think al gore did what's your take on his signing. I agree i mean. I tweeted this out When they signed brown people when when they signed nelson agla last year. I was to be honest. I was pissed. This guy drops everything. He's going to be a disaster. Why they wasting their time. So i feel higher on a guy. John brown coming in this offseason. Who's establishing the league. The one knock on john brown as he does get hurt. He's not the biggest guy in the world he gets. You know thing does from time to time when he's on the field. He's productive use productive in arizona productive with josh allen in buffalo. He's not a guy is going gonna catch one hundred passes. He's not that type of guy but he's a big play guy. He's durable what. I love about john brown as he's a really good route runner he can come in here and help guy like henry ruggs. Show him how to run around. Show him how to run a big row sham. How to run a slant. The way that jon gruden wants it run into national football league. Henry ruggs struggle last year with route running struggle. Getting off the line of scrimmage. He struggled with some running and that's why he wasn't getting targeted as much. So i like john brown if he could stay healthy like him as a mentor for For henry ruggs. And i think he could put up similar production. He's a deep threat. Not nobody knew that. Nelson i glow was a deep threaten told. He was going deep last year and carcinoma bombs. There's no reason at. John brown can't be that i expect him to fill that agla role to a t. And have the same type of production that had in two thousand twenty. All right eddie. Right there we're going to take a quick break when we come back. We have another big name but discuss on offense. And then after that. We're gonna get into some big names on defense. "Heidi fame house jacksonville jaguars and we played last game coliseum and you can just tell you guys like end wallers you got Jacobs you've got car. You got the guy that was just a rookie. You know so They have they have a great offense here man and they're dirty. Put that together now. It's time for the defense side of the ball to help that often side out a lot. You know what i mean so it just goes back to what i said earlier. You got like max We just signed quinton. We just signed solomon and Those guys Those guys that can rush when you put on tape those guys that play physical football and with our mindsets together and just being able to bounce information and ideas off each other. It should be a lot of plays made this year coming up. Welcome everybody to the takeaways. Addition of the vegas podcast. I'm your host. heidi fang. And today i'm going to be joined by siriusxm main producer the guy in charge nfl things. That's eddie silly. He also has his own podcast yards per attempt. Podcast check that out so everybody first of all before we get going into here with the raiders. The free agency the salary cap. All those mind numbing numbers that we're trying to figure out what they mean. and how. They affect the raiders in twenty twenty. One we're going to break it down with eddie but first of all. Don't forget to subscribe wherever you are listening. And we are brought to you by the las vegas review journal and also presented to you by blue wire podcasts. Right off the top there. You heard from unique and gakugei. That's how we're going to be pronouncing his name but he also said that you can call them yawn if you're interviewing him so just in case anybody ever runs into him. You can yawn. He signed my helmet anyway but he was there talking about what his impact will be on the raiders. And as you can see in. Free agency the raiders. Have been signing d. lineman after d. lineman here to the roster from solomon thomas to matt dickerson. The raiders are making waves here in free agency and eddie is going to break all of that down with us and throughout the show. You're going to hear from the different. Siamese as we are able to get them from the raiders. All of that here on this takeaways edition of the vegas nation. Podcasts so buckle up strap in we're about to get into it here. Eddie i and will continue down the road hearing from some of these. Newly signed raiders. Right all right as promised right now. Joining me from sirius. Xm radio and also from the yards per attempt. Podcast it's eddie silly back on the show. Eddie how're you doing today. Heidi it's always a pleasure to be with you excited to do it again. We got free agency. We got the draft and less than forty days. And it's an exciting time for all our football fans out there for those who don't know eddie is the executive producer of nfl radio over there at serious so your head must be spending right now. I mean always like you said always a busy time. It's always a busy busy time. Free agency we just got clearance to go to the draft so excited we'll be you last year. Obviously we missed it with everything going on with covert and all that stuff. So we're going to be in. Cleveland live in cleveland. So i'm excited to get out of the house and bb. There had to draft in person. See all the prospects will be. It's going to be fun. I'm hoping to get in there as well. I just threw in my proposal today to be like. Hey guys let me play and you you gotta you gotta have everything buttoned up nowadays. Not just as easy as i. Just put a credential in. It's gotta have this and health checks and all this and you gotta dot a lot of is across a lot of ts before he could do stuff unfortunately. Yeah so we will see if that comes through for me. I keep my fingers crossed. Maybe i get to see you in person yet again. let's get into it eddie because like you said there's so much going on from free agency to the raider signing so the release in fact. I think we should call it. The re-signed restructure release podcast and talk about all of these reshuffle. Yeah reshuffle so i would get into some of the re signings wasa players coming back. Some things were done to kind of help. Free up some money here in free agency. A richie incognito. Being one example of that he was released that freed up about five point four million and then he was resigned to the raiders. Two point six two million so a little bit a lesser money there but it frees up. Some cap obviously denzil goods another one but he. He upped his anti he got in eighteen years and eight point three six so with as much movement has been happening right now on this offensive line with hudson. Beane traded with Gave jackson being traded at What do you think is going on here. With that ole line and how it's going to shake out it's really weird if you pinned any raider fan any. Nfl fan down. Before the off season. I think the one thing we took to the bank was rodney hudson plains center for the las vegas raiders and twenty twenty one and come to be that rodney obviously was unhappy being here for as many years as he was not winning and all that kind of stuff. There's probably some stuff that goes on behind the scenes but that was really a shocker. To me. I always knew that. John had a i want to say a problem with trent brown but trenches was never available as year was was how much time he missed. And you know he's making fourteen million dollars. You could just see the writing on the wall that a guy like trent brown was going to be around for the raiders next year. And i i put it out there early on about jackson. You know getting up there close to thirty years old again. He has a cap number about ten million dollars. So that was a guy targeted to that. They can go after and and cut or release and get some money but the hudson thing kind of blew everything up it. It just took the raiders offensive line takeout colt miller. Who's over there. The left side and kinda just shot it into the stratosphere and everybody started. The biggest pet peeve i had is the national media. Everybody kinda ran whip that. The raiders were decimating. They're all line like getting rid of every single star but they're really not you're going to bring record gene cognito. That started a couple of games last year. Denzel goods coming back like you said john. Simpson's there so the interior the off the flight is still there. Really high on a guy like andre james. I'm not gonna sit here and say that andre james is going to be rodney hudson. Nobody's rodney hudson. If we watch raider games and people listening to this podcast for sure have watched raider games. You know how. Good rodney hudson is. Andre james is going to have to fill some big shoes in with them. They have a major hole now at right tackle. So i think there's some right tackles on the market. You got a guy like mitchell schwartz if you were able to sign him away from the kansas city chiefs. I think that'd be great for this football team but you're probably looking towards the draft so the line has a lot of moving parts. I trust shot tom. Cable to kind of put them together. They all signed martin. The former senator the texans. He could play guard as well. So i'm not as concerned with the offensive line. I know it's probably shot that they're a car a little bit losing so many guys. So many starters but be honest gave jacksonville last two years ago. He missed missing time at injury. And trent brown was never available. So you really only replacing rodney hudson. But that's a big asked to replace because rodney was so good for so long for this football team. So i feel as good about the offensive line. I did coming into the off season but a lot of the rationale is jon. Gruden basically saying this team hasn't what we put a lot of money into the offensive line for years and years and years and a team still hasn't won so maybe it's time to reshuffle. Use that money in different directions. And maybe you could have a better solid football team. Moving.

"Does end up being a guy whether he was plan a or not. If he's the dude you going to have the other guys in that locker room having some belief that he can get it done Hunter Henry you just you just talked about that one. So we'll skip ahead about his belief in God. Newton you just gave us your little nugget on that. So let's go to David Andrews true or false Craig David Andrews took a HomeTown discount completely false. This was off and and and I love David and I think he's a great player and I'm glad the Patriots have him back in there much better team with hit him at Center than than Ted cares agree. But this was a typical situation in free agency that you see where a player has the market for for the first time and perhaps his agent either missed missed judges the market or is afraid to level with the player. Maybe the player doesn't want to hear it. But let's just say David Anders was out there asking for top of the Market Center Center top of the market wage, you know, you're talking over ten million dollars a year. That's what he wanted. That's what led to him coming out or reports coming out that he is going to move on and look a game. Our options that he's done negotiating with the Patriots basically sayonara the Patriots wouldn't budge. They said this is our number. We love you. This is our number. We're not going to budge off. It may have wanted more. He thought he could get more elsewhere suddenly the other centers on the on the market the Rodney Hudson thing probably threw a curve ball at them being traded from the Raiders to the Cardinals off Alex Mack getting locked up with the 49ers and all of a sudden when the Dolphins said, you know who were negotiating with Anders. They said, you know what Matt skura a guy who can't even snap ball. He blew the Ravens game against the Patriots with a seat best. He did he lost the Ravens James the Ravens wanted nothing to do with them in the Dolphins were like, yeah, we'd rather have that on a cheaper deal. So Anders was really left with no Market. He went back to the Patriots and we saw what he ended up with wage. Wasn't much it was far far far beyond what his initial asking price and if you listen to this podcast, which you are listening now means you likely did before. If not, thank you. Welcome aboard Greg and I love all the but if you were listening to this podcast during free agency last week Greg was one of the only guys if not, the only guy out there saying this Andrew stuff is not dead everybody else out there was posting and tweeting and saying it's over and he's moving on even I tweeted that he was moving on until I spoke with you on the podcast and he told everybody pump your brakes the Andrews Patriots thing. It's not dead. It's not settled yet. Give it some time. He might come back and that's precisely what happened and it reminds me of the juju Smith Schuster thing in Pittsburgh, very similar. He's posting things and and everybody that he's gone and he's leaving then the wide receiver Market slowly develops. I think he realizes he's not going to get this multi-year big money deal. So he takes the one-year deal to go back. Pittsburgh to be the number one guy instead of going to Kansas City and being lost with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce or going to the Ravens a team. That's going to run the football fifty times..

So we'll we'll get into that from national cereal day a few weeks ago but on march fifteenth you wrote free agent menzi. Am i right s and it's a good tweet. That is a good tweet. Provocative of here's march seventeenth. Now this one this one. I like cardinals. Trading for raiders. Center rodney hudson. So you like that. Yeah because that was a follow up to re right before that in the day we had signed. Aj green and we were a very divided office on on aj green coming into town of like it's hard to spin aj green as positive of you. The statistics like look at the beginning. You know all. He was getting all area arts. He was receiving all. But look at all these uncatchable targets that. At green was receiving okay. Well at a point. Was it aged. Greens fault that these were not catchable targets because everyone else on the team seemed to be able to get open and do well with joe burrow's oh that's We were very pump for rodney. Hunts hudson after eight green kind of left me scratching my head out of the fantasy angle though. If you just look at it from a cardinal's fan perspective did you like the green signing or was that while you were just talking about. I don't. I don't like really fantasy. And i don't like it for arizona. I mean look he he could still have it maybe a year back after getting back into football shape it could work out but this this feels like a classic arizona. Bring in in in old old veteran..

We'll see of jared. Goff can get it done. Jamaal williams still another one things that kind of bum yang this year But him and dan he can do it. Green bay not thin literally nothing besides aaron jones. Vikings also nothing from offers a perspective. Really that we care about and Nfc north jersey south. Let's revisit answer. South falcon same boat as the vikings. Not anything to really speak about carolina. Panthers not really talk about some office of line moves that tempts some some moose for the defense but nothing really offensively. That they signed david moore. You know if you care. Obviously the biggest change that they've made this off season. The forty niners signed. Trent williams alex mack last week. Those were their biggest moves and the seahawks. Let's add with some some news. This is the last player that i wanna talk about today. Mainly we spoke about gerald every year that. I'm a believer in that guy. Another guy went back to a seem. Judit it earlier and so to chris carson. They both did it today this week. Two guys that you know. I was paying attention to on where they're gonna go. Who were they going to you know. Are they going to improve their situation. Or they're going to disrupt some certain players on the team. What's gonna happen here. And they both return back to where they were last season. So you know the the situations remain what they were before. Really we gotta really think too crazy about it. Where pete whatever they did last season nothing should dramatically change. Either one of these guys seasons To you know heavily fluctuate those results. So if you're a big fan of last year. That should continue. If you weren't a big fan you know now. They've now they found a place that they're at you get them to move them whatever. It is or not draft them. It's up to you Chris carson is who he is you know. He's not flashy not too fancy his out..

"And what do i mean that. We're both raiders. Beat writers join me here. Vic taper comes on the show to talk about. Raiders moves things that have happened in the past twenty four hours here. And just before. I had dictation join me i was joined by two sean reid. So we're going to hear from. Both of the raiders beat writers from the athletic. They were kind enough to come on. Give me some time. Talking about rodney hudson and all the other moves that the raiders have made and ones that they may make in agency. So let's get into it but before we do. I want to remind everybody i to hit. Subscribe wherever you're listening. And also we are brought to you by the las vegas review journal and presented to you by blue wire all right. So let's get into it. I what the hot news from vic taper first of all vic happy to have you on great times always good to see you and Wanted to get into some of those raiders. Free agency in the moves that they've been doing and I think the one that's most perplexing fans right now is releasing rodney hudson. It was kind of unexpected thing to here. But i'm still saying conflicting reports out there. If you look at lincoln kennedy's twitter. He's saying that he's hearing. That hudson wanted the release and there may be some more to it and maybe he's not released as another thing. I'm saying that it's not official. What can you tell us about. What's going on with rodney hudson. Exactly gone. i forget hasn't been officially announce yet. But i think with jon gruden yesterday advocates. A done deal. I think come to me is kind of mutual deal irani definitely. I think was frustrated last six years at one winning season. Think of the moves. Offseason comment curious. I think the whole offensive line zuma frustrated with what's been going on. I think jon gruden ask. Most of them are take big cuts Most of them have that done at. Trent brown obviously wasn't happy. He got traded for a fifth round pick. Gave jackson also probably won't be released soon but he hasn't been released. He wants him to go restructure down to five million dollars from nine point six. He's like do that Gene how was cut denzel. Good got low ball offers. So i think you look at the raiders. Jon gruden with cambridge. Years ago. Alex of lance up to align last year the southern five may fifty one point four million dollars and i didn't get the results. You want that kind of math there. There were good but they weren't Up pretty often. So i looked at it like am. I getting the bang for my buck. Fifty one dollars should give me a top top offense with a winning game the dumbest and run out the clock. So i think you look at maybe trying to do something different. This year riding hudson's w. two so maybe john lewis rodney hudson. Not a strong love was a couple of years ago. Because you're obviously thirty. Two is different thirty. Everybody's so great player will will say that. I'm sure wind up a really good team. Be happy but to me. It was kind of a look at the dominoes kind of falling. They his frustration. I think he could see he said you. A what view void this guarantee. Three point five million guarantee he got in february School and so they save Nine million dollars cash at the cap hit metro basak group. It's like a two dollar capital would have paid them. I think thirteen point six nas. Twelve point one off so again. I think i saw a babbling but at key factor was that James says the guy who played one game for me. I think Malcolm two seasons ago very well but very hired him. So i think the look like you know what he's not riley hudson but he's he's really good at like one tenth of the price so i think also factor also then there'll be a lot of Younger guys they're probably maybe. John m san maybe they draft somebody. What do you think they do at offensive tackle spot code. Moore's we'll get. We'll get extension for your soon. I'm sure is the fourth year now. Slugger give the new deal. He's the guy left tackle. You mentioned john. Simpson probably started one of the guards spots. I think ritchie's back. I think she comes back for less money at the guard spot and they got al data center and so to me right tackle. I'm not sure what denzel goods markets going to be but it was not great heroes. Come back you played their last little bit. Well so that's one option renna. Parker i mean people are gonna. Parker is the third round pick twenty Twenty eighteen hasn't really panned out. But he's not bad. He could be a stopgap guy. And so i think really the plan right now is probably the first round pick. I think you're looking for dress. Pass rusher now first round. Pick out thicker right tackle. Go guys can play that for a long time. So that's what they're looking to do. Think right now. I guess with that news all settled and i think we kinda covered that pretty. Well kyle long. He came down and visited team. But then i saw on twitter. Last night he puts an airplane. He left so in regards to that. Do you think the raiders. I mean in some respects. It's kind of a gamble. Hedin really have a full seasons his belt and a few of them that he had played a man united left the game. twenty nineteen. So when you look at kyle long. Is he somebody that you think. The raiders are serious about bringing into this offensive line. The respond the postal laura ingram. You mentioned the a couple of bad years but he retired. A is bodies. Fresh is in great shape. I think he plays both garden. Tackles and kind of you can move him waiting to be at algiers last name along. Name my weapons a lot greater facility my straight about the opportunity jon gruden loves all the old guys so He was here for two days almost us here for like most of monday. Workout tuesday morning to me. The timing is funny because always having lunch with the brass. Now just time we ride as your hudson news broke so i wonder if Calculus phones like the heck's here. It's like i gotta go to casey. I guess who the chiefs are saying. So he could be back. But i'm sure it's a your waves up before in terms of money but i gotta figure that she's probably offering last bought a chance to win. A rank nationally raiders. Quite there at this point so to me it's interesting Decision and my team thereafter. But my guess is one of those through james. John brown also this morning. Big news here. On a wednesday for the raiders Nelly gone john brown in They probably went this route. I'm thinking because one. He's fast to yet decent season. I think two seasons ago thousand yard plus season and then when you look at the the speed that he has you think john brown brings to this team. And where will he fit in amongst the wide receivers brooks group ler mentioned earlier. Two years ago last year heads injuries with bills went different direction. But he's definitely proven guys thirty years old definitely speed guy up your good hands. That's good years. The cardinals back with day A little more than oh did lash was like a million dollars last year. I think brown's extra point five so pick a little bit more. But i think it gives them a little bit of security in a relieves some of the pressure offers and rugs and by edwards been would have been starters i think now so might be drummed. Breath will have a role. That's not so much pressure on rugs edwards last thing. I gotta ask you vic. And i really appreciate you coming on today. I know you're very busy. And i certainly do appreciate the time closure. Yeah just the last thing. There's all that talks about this shawn watson and the may be the raiders or freeing up all this cap money for something big. Do you see anything with that. Rumor that shawn watson would come into the raiders quarterback squad this. There's so much talk with this. What do you think about. It will never submitted with jon. Gruden show But out think so. I think If you look at the reports today about what the bears offered for russell wilson three first round picks to starters at seahawks said. No you figure watson's prices probably higher because younger younger That's a lot to give up for a team by figures not mentioned earlier. Not quite inexorable track quite yet they're still rebuilding mode. Can aid may generate better so often three first round picks. Some starters for us at wilson plus you gotta figure out what are you trade them somewhere else was using. Derek.

"May not want a hitch too much to a player that up at that age but if you wanna get some mid tier free agents who can help right away i think there is can do data to make maybe three or four cuts dropping all kinds of knowledge right there and i did ask a big question right off the top reason why you know. We're talking here actually Just on the day. It's monday that. Jj watt Was signed over to the cardinals. So that is something that i was going to be. A point of. Focus for the raiders as far as getting some defensive line pieces in there were some pretty big names on free agent market like Jj watt like jv on cloudy But i think if you start looking at maybe like you were talking about there with the offensive. Line with the raiders Bringing back incognito is a huge piece for them to have but what does that mean for. Somebody like denzil good. Who played some lights out five football on that front line last year and who's trying to get paid after being such a flexible piece on that line last year. What do they do with somebody like him with knowing like you said that the raiders are already kind of over the cap which is right now. Said around one eighty. So what do they do to try to pay some of these guys or do they. I think denzel good situation depends on if they decide to keep that entire line together. Let's say they do. They say they keep trent brown. Gave jackson routine nido along with coach. Miller and rodney hudson who are reluctant to into their positions. I think that denzel guca possibly go elsewhere. Because you know. The teams watch watch gained. They say well this guy is. He's got some versatility. He could play left guard. He could play right. Tackle less sign him as a player. I can possibly compete for a starting job now. The do cut richie incognito or gave jackson trent brown. I think that the door for denzel good to come back because as you said he agreed praising lashes say he's an unsung hero on that offensive line. And they really need him with trent brown. And out of the lineup. Richie incognito only playing two games So he he was valuable to that team but as far as going forward. If you're gonna keep that line together as one of the most expensive offensive line's across league. I believe the raiders has spent the second most money. They're on their offense of live behind only the philadelphia eagles. If you're going to keep that expensive live together you're not gonna leave much room for backup guys..
