"Then all of a sudden you have a viable option, but I'm not concerned. I think Green Bay has been fine, even without some of their star receivers because Aaron Rodgers is just that special. And Matt Lafleur will be able to incorporate the running game more, even running backs in the passing game as well for this offense. Yeah, professor professor Rogers is a 100% correct. You've got to catch the football. That's what you paid to do. You can't be out there dropping the ball. You can't be running bad routes. Somebody will get hurt. Somebody career will end if you do something wrong. And when you are young, you have to listen to Aaron Rodgers. This is Aaron Rodgers. As far as I'm concerned, this is his toughest season as a quarterback because he now has to play quarterback. He has to play coach. He has to be sent to their feelings, all of those sort of things. And look, those young guys, when you talk about Lazar and you talk about a jobs and you talk about Kristen Watson, all of those guys are better right now than Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb and whoever else it is. And Aaron Rodgers knows that. So he's kind of sending a subliminal message through the media and saying, hey guys, I got to get you guys to step up. If you want to play and you want me to get you where you want to be in your career, you've got to listen and you got to do the little things in the details. And they'll be fine. I'm not worried about Romeo jobs at all. I'm not worried about him because when Aaron Rodgers is delivering those footballs, they're not behind you. You're not twisting and turning. They're not at your kneecaps. They're not at your toes. They're easy, soft catches that feel like handoffs. You can tuck and go. This is why devonte Adams is devonta Adams because you play with a guy like Aaron Rodgers, things are a lot easier for you. When we really interesting to watch this packers wide receiver group come together, be nice to see Christian Watson get more acclimated after spending some time on the PU P list. Hey, coming up on NFL live, naji Harris won an RC's pod the pivot and says he helped defenses load the box against the Steelers this year. By that of Sam thinks they will, I

"And the job responsibility is most important. There's going to be physical mistakes that we talked about, but if you're going out there and dropping the ball and somebody else behind you in the right spot all the time and catching a ball, that guy's going to play. It's coming up. Yeah, it's coming up. It really is. We're going to play our best guys. What a season starts. And whoever those guys are, those guys are going to get the reps. Guys, the guys I trust the most and the guys at the coaches to have trust the most and a lot of it is just this simple responsibility in the offense. You know, it way before body positioning and movement and throw and all that stuff. Are you doing it in the right spot at the right time? Or you run the right route. There you go. That is public. The professor calling out the students need to show your work a little bit better. You need to come to class more prepared. You need to get ready for the big test coming up on September 11th in Minnesota. So says Aaron Rodgers, and this is unique. He doesn't usually do this sort of thing at all. What is he usually do? Well, we actually got a glimpse of what he usually does behind the scenes. In practice in training camp with young players, to hold them accountable, and usually these folks have their peas and cues already lined up. Everything's usually buttoned up because Aaron Rodgers expects it and you don't want to disappoint him. Aaron Jones told us exactly that when he appeared on this show last month. He's our leader. He gets everybody going. He holds everybody accountable into a high standard. He expects greatness out of you and you guys just got to prove yourself day in and day out with him. Can you give me an example of how he does that? Please. Yeah, so we might be we might be in the huddle and it might be a certain play call and he might get up to the line of scrimmage just to see if you guys have been in their playbook or studying change up the plate though on a signal and really give them a little chance to communicate, but dear one in your playbook is going to know on that play. And then he'll come out and he'll talk to you for you to the side like, hey, this is what I changed it. I'm testing you. And you see them do it a lot to the younger guys. And then that's how they know, hey, I got to gain his trust. I want to be on the field. I got to know this stuff. Have you seen him do that to somebody on a certain play? And then when it comes time to actually use it in the game, he uses it to success and then they kind of share a moment like remember back in July back in August. That's why we did it. Have you seen it happen many times and it just that's what it's about in practice. You're not going to be perfect, but you get it down and you make that mistake but you don't make that mistake again and you learn from it and then when it's time to go execute it, you go execute it and you look back at those moments and those are teaching and learning moments and you thank you really thank them for that. That's it. Which one of these wide receivers in week three week four week 5 is going to thank him for that. Is it Dobbs? Dobbs had that touchdown pass, but he's a rookie. Juwan Winfrey, year three. Well, we got. Amari Rogers. Yeah. You're two for him. You're two for him. Who's going to step up because it's Watkins, Cobb, at the wide receiver position in lazard. And one of them goes down. You need a fourth receiver. You're going to 5th receiver? Who's going to step up? And Rogers is on the case and he has felt compelled to say something publicly, I will add another Rogers phrase to the equation, relax, REL, AX, he's got it. He's got it, but if he's going to start throwing around and there's going to be some drop season things of that nature. Somebody's going to hear it, and you know who's not going to feel the pressure, it won't be Rogers, it'll be the players who don't catch the ball and then essentially Gouda kunst. Right? The groceries whose shopping for them. August 16th, I know today's the 17th. But August 16th, remember that date when Aaron Rodgers stepped out to the microphone and talked about family business with people outside the family. So there is cause for concern right now, but Rogers has a process. You heard about it with Aaron Jones. Maybe he is just switching up the play at the last second to see who knows what's what? Because he knows now's the time to do it. Now's the time to do it. Heaven forbid week one, September 11th, looks like week one for the packers last year. Remember when they got the doors blown off? Remember that in Jacksonville? Right. Because the saints couldn't play in the Superdome because of the hurricane. And so you remember that? Boy, it'll be DEFCON one there because everyone will feel they don't have the horses. Last year that wasn't the issue, remember I think was it cower who said that Rogers looked like he didn't care or something like that. Everyone was wondering like the weird conspiracy that he was tanking. He was tanking because he wouldn't have his contract. He was an unhappy camper still. Because he came back late to, and he wasn't there in the off season. It was Rogers fault, and of course, as you know, they wound up being the one seat anyway. So I guess Ari LAX. They won 7 in a row after that. But the guy who Ariel AX is for you, felt the need to say something. Put a pin in that, that's part of the storyline, season long storyline, arc for the Green Bay Packers. There's still no pressure for Aaron. Nope, none. Okay. No, I mean, what is he going to put pressure on himself to keep throwing the ball exactly where it needs to be? He can't control the youth and the greenness of these Green Bay packer receivers. How can he control it? What he can do is coach them up and put the pressure on them. Hey man, this is Aaron freaking Rogers in the remaining window of his career. It could last as long as Brady's window of at least 45, but I mean, right now, this is a pretty big year, but I'm still no pressure on him. What's the pressure? The pressure is elevate these young kids. Well, he's superstar status. He's trying. He's called him out and out in the media now. So they know. This is part of his arsenal as well. He doesn't really have to pull out because he's got to atoms. Leading the charge last few years. Just keep an eye on all that. That's all. That's all. And don't take the cheese that the packers are going to stink on ice. That's the cheese that's going to be out there throughout the sports media world. Don't take that tissues. Telling the packers not to take the cheese. I just told the packers she's heads not to take that cheese. That's correct. I did do that. Let's take a break right here on this program. Ian rappaport will join us next, I believe he's in Jaguars camp. Can not wait to talk with him and then we'll also have Lewis Riddick on the program talking more ball, 8 four four two O four rich is the number for you to dial to talk with us.

Aaron Rodgers Named NFL's Top QB in ESPN Poll

"So ESPN doing their annual poll of over 50 executives players, coaches, alike, they release their top ten players at every single position in the National Football League. They've been doing this for years. And yesterday, while we were on the air, they put out their top ten quarterbacks. When I say they, again, it's an ESPN production, but it's not really folks from ESPN. It's people within the business. The peers of these players themselves, the players, the coaches, the executives. They come out with the top ten quarterbacks fellas. It's Stokely and Zack filling in from Mike Evans this morning. We're hanging out with our guys stink. Number one in the National Football League, according to these guys, Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers still the number one quarterback in the National Football League fellas. Well, a desi woman back to back MVPs. Aaron Rodgers has his efficiency is touched on interception ratio completion percentage. His ability to just absolutely attack a defense. So I'm doing I'm doing a Green Bay game. This is two years ago. And I'm talking to the defensive coordinator of the team that they're facing. And he's like, listen, if Aaron Rodgers gets it to second down in 5 minus, like second down 5, 6, 9, four, whatever. He goes, I would rather just give him an automatic first. I wish I had something to say, you can have the first down. Let's start over. It's like a take your base signal. And baseball. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly. He goes, I would just like to start over because if he gets you in a second down in 5, there is nothing you can do. He's just going to bleed you. Until they get a first down and then they'll bleed you some more. He goes, I'd rather just give them the first down and say, let's try to, let's try to see if we can get them in second down and along because that's the only chance you have. He is legitimately is that

"I don't know what you're talking about. Wait a minute. And you didn't want to listen to my ass. Give them the date, Brock. Rich throws in the towel. Let me pull up the MLB standings real quick. Yeah, it's called the team that sucks from New York. That's perfect. You just name them that. Okay. They're tennis. They're too intense in the last 12. It's terrible. What happened? 9 games up on the raise. That's right. Poopy stadium they should change it to him. Listen, I'm very upset. So lots to talk about on this program. I'd stay put. We're in the mood. I like to have more dumb candy takes. It's De Niro 79th birthday. Talking about there's lots to discuss today. First item up for bids on this particular program. Popcorn maker? No. Because I know the price of that. No. Too Harley. So first item up for bids on this year edition of the rich eisen show is a seasoned line seasoned long story arc. As we say in the business. There's, in the NFL, there's week to week storylines. And then there's an arc that goes through the entire season. Where you take a look at the bills, that's a storyline for the entire season. They're expected to go all the way to the Super Bowl. They are. And maybe win it. So that's a season long storyline. Arc, that's, by the way, that's a Hollywood term, isn't it? It's a screenwriter's term. It's a scriptwriter's term, an arc. I can't do character. It's not like you're putting animals by two. It's an actual Andy. Design. Or shape, an arc. So here's a storyline. Arc for the entire season. How will the packers offense look without devonte Adams? How will they be able to navigate a full 17 game 18 week season with 12, not having 17? How will that look? Marquez valdes scantling MVS as he's known in GB, he's now in Casey, and I pointed out how he's going to fit in quite well there, I think. And Allen lazard, it's time for Lazar to step up to be a number one guy and Aaron Rodgers has been talking him up and believes he can be a number one guy even had his tongue firmly planted in cheek in his first press availability of the summer saying that he's going from Hall of Famer to Hall of Famer as well. At his position, as devonte Adams referred to Derek Carr in Vegas, on how's it working with the kids? Are the kids all right? Romeo Dobbs who was drafted at the position this past year. He caught the first touchdown of the preseason, nice throw from Jordan love. What about practice? That's where things have to come together. That's when Aaron Rodgers gives that high sign to somebody, that little look, right? How's it going? Apparently not so great. This is a man who chooses his words very carefully. He understands that what comes out of his mouth certainly when it involves behind the scenes nuts and bolts about an issue that he knows is going to be talked about. He knows is a season long storyline arc. He knows when he talks about this stuff, it will stand out. And he talked about it, after apparently a Tuesday practice that didn't go all that well. With his young wide receivers dropping some passes. The young guys, you know, they got a special young receivers. We got to be way more consistent. A lot of drops, a lot of bad route decisions, run the wrong route. So we got to get better in that area. Keep dropping the ball, you're not going to be out there. So it's going to be the most reliable guys that are out there. The preparation

Giants make 4 Es, 2 by Estrada, in sloppy 4-2 loss to Rox

"Thanks to three errors by the Giants in the fourth inning the rocky scored three runs to take the rubber game four to two Ryan McMahon had two hits and two RBIs Anytime you can try to distance yourself from these guys you gotta take advantage of it right Extra runs all that stuff They're a really good team and they can come back from any kind of deficit or anything like that So I think that was just kind of mentality today We just went up there and put as good ABs as we could on them and got the win It was the rockies first series win in San Francisco in almost three years Brendan Rodgers and Jonathan daza with run scoring singles Austin gomber pitched 6 innings allowed 5 hits and two runs for the win For the Giants Logan Webb went 5 and two thirds innings giving up 7 hits and three runs taking the loss Ryan leong San Francisco

"Couple months. You could get a car. All right, well, aside from our car issues. Aaron Rodgers is the biggest story. You wake up and you check your news, you check your Twitter, you see what's trending there and Rogers would happen. The face of ayahuasca. He dressed in like Nicholas cage again. Wait, is that Nicolas Cage? Oh no, that's Aaron Rodgers. I thought I was watching con air. That's Aaron Rodgers rolling up to camp. And you're like, oh, wait, Aaron Rodgers talking smack about his receivers. That's sort of the vibe, right? Is he talking smack? Well, that's the story. There's the story. There's the truth, there's the spin, right? The spin is. Oh, there goes Aaron Rodgers. Man, here what he said, he'd burning his young receivers. Well, in fact, let's hear what Aaron Rodgers said. The young guys, you know, they gotta, especially young receivers, we gotta be way more consistent. You know, a lot of drops, a lot of bad route decisions, running the wrong route. So we gotta get better in that area. That's the smack talk? We gotta be more consistent. Lots of drops, bad routes. I think that becomes a headline because Aaron Rodgers is just not likeable. I think that's what it is. Honestly, what did he say that's wrong? He also went on to say that, you know, Sammy wap Watkins had his best practice ever. He's happy as usual with Randall Cobb, just the young guys, you know, some drops. And we need to be more consistent. That's the answer to a question. He's Aaron Rodgers. He's the leader of the team. He's the guy that demands excellence. You have to respect that. I think the media is portraying this guy. Look, I'm not saying he hasn't given ammo for the media to speculate. He absolutely has, right? Most recently, the ayahuasca story. And everything else we've talked about. In this particular case, he's demanding excellence. It's not just dropped passes. It's dudes running incorrect routes. Inconsistency, he's trying to figure out who's reliable. This is his job. So when you're asking him questions and he's doing his job, that's really not a story. It's really not. It's just an update. It's Aaron Rodgers is a polarizing for the most part. Unlike mohnish type of guy. So when he says it's the media really taking this guy and sort of painting that picture because of course. If you hear the rest of that quote, we're taking little bits out to portray him in such a light, right? He's the anti Tom Brady almost. I'm glad you said that because if Tom Brady said this exact quote. Joel, can you play it one more time? The young guys, you know, they gotta, especially young receivers, we gotta be way more consistent. You know, a lot of drops, a lot of bad decisions, running the wrong route. So we gotta get better in that area. Now, if Tom Brady said that. Would we blink with a smile? If Tom Brady said it with a handsome smile. That's the difference. A lot of it's your delivery, your demeanor. What he's saying really isn't that big of a deal at all. This is what you want out of here superstar starting quarterback. A guy that's going to take that leadership role and notice what they need to work on. And by the way, we're talking about young men, but grown men professionals. But don't we seem to take Aaron Rodgers as if he's really talking to somebody else. It's really about the elephant in the room, the wide receiver he lost, and maybe he's talking to management. To many young guys. That's a good one. He's pulling one of those mom moves when mom says some condescending like backhanded insult and she's like, what, I never said that. When your mom's like, you don't need to get me anything at the school fair and you did it. And then she's like, oh, okay, Steven. Oh, so y'all are different. My mom was, don't you tell me what I said? All right, right, right. Well, you know, Aaron Rodgers by honestly. Even by mildly complaining about the young dudes dropping past his bed routes, that is the little sneak diss at yo packers. Organization. I did sign the deal, but you really didn't load me up with what I need here. Yeah, I got sent me Watkins. He had the best practice he's had. Yeah, rental cops, my dude, I'm the one that sort of influenced bringing him back, but the other young dudes, come on, come on, but if you notice spot, you always say that if a good-looking dude hits on a girl and an ugly dude hits on a girl, it's received two different ways. Oh yeah. Yeah. Handsome guy gets away with a lot of stuff. Otherwise, you're just a creepy guy. Creepy mutant. Yeah. Oh my God, stop talking to me. If he looks like Jimmy Garoppolo, the girl's like, oh my God. Think about it. If you said something as simple as this, that's a beautiful dress you're wearing today. Oh my God, Jimmy. You're so sweet. Now if it's a big old mutant. Oh my God, get away. Girls, help me. You have no teeth. So I'm reporting you to human resources. The lovely dress Rebecca. I'm like, wait a second. They said the same thing. So if Tom Brady said that, you're like, there he is, Tom terrific. Demanding excellence. Tom Brady's on the sideline. Having little baby fits. You've seen Brady. Yeah. But you know what it is? Competitive. Right. Aaron Rodgers, different story. Yeah. And that just gets life though, man. It's like think about some people and you could definitely say, Aaron Rodgers painted this own picture of himself as like a interesting fella. He's provided the ammo. The ammo where now that's the narrative. What he really said isn't that bad at all. They need to be more consistent. Doesn't everyone? Everybody needs to be more consistent, but this is the NFL. You're expected to be in a particular place on a particular route. If you're not there, you're not helping the team. You know, it's kind of how it works. You've seen this in every sport. Young player comes in and if they drop a pass, run a run route, baseball too. You ever see them pull some dude middle relief. You're like, oh, who's this guy? They made a call them up. One walk out. Some middle relief guy walks the first battery faces. There's no patience for that type of stuff. Not at all. A couple mental errors something guy gets on the court for the first time. But a couple of quick turnovers. Preseason and you're working these things out. This is the time to make these mistakes and to talk about assistance. Okay, how long are we going to go and with the ayahuasca jokes? Because I would jump on the fact that give them another gummy, he'll love us in the morning. Yeah. Aaron Rodgers, I just wonder. I mean, he's another guy. Rich has some in his back pocket, I think. I just wonder how long we're going to entertain the idea of it like Aaron Rodgers. Well, what a unique guy. Dude, that's the story. And that's what it's going to be the rest of the season. Colin Kaepernick, I'll be honest how the media wants to portray him now and they're rolling with it. I'll back up cowherd. He said it best like a couple of weeks ago and he's like, the reality is, he's not young anymore. So he's sort of a little bit of an older guy. He single, no kids, and you get to a certain age, you start to become a little strange. And he's weird. He did a little weird. He got a little weird. It's like your family member that never settled down, and now he's kind of a weird guy. That family member that never came back from the ayahuasca. Right, right. He didn't come back right. No. He becomes less relatable as time goes on. The reality is, as you get older, if you don't go the path of maybe marriage or kids or stuff like that, nothing wrong with that. You then you're finding other things. Like our buddy spot. Spot. Married. Got money, no kids. You were just in Bora Bora, posting pictures of your butt on Instagram.

"Is the chauffeur to his daughter to go back to that. She's at the stage now where she's a pre teen. And I'm a co parent. So it's always like a back and forth thing. From school, like every other parent, but dropping her off to moms, back to my place. But I find the funniest part of it to be where she's at the age now where it's like, dad, pick me up from school, but then drop me off at Starbucks with my friends, and he has to sit like a block away in his car like waiting for her to be like, all right, dad, you can come by now and get me. So much, 'cause she's at that awkward age, right? You don't just leave them there. I can't leave them there. You're like on standby as like a creeper, a block away on here's the fear. This is way personal. But people could relate. Like I mentioned, I'm a co parent. God forbid something happens on your clock. On your clock. That's something you really don't have to worry about that much. Fortunately, knock on wood. Divorced or not, every dad feels that way. If your kid falls and cuts themselves. Why did it have to happen with me? Imagine something happens at Starbucks or wherever she is on my clock. If I'm not nearby, I'm the worst dad ever. But anyway, that's not what I'm trying to be. Trying to have fun with you guys. Thank you for being here. 8 7 7 99 on Fox. That was my Tuesday, hoping Wednesday's better. Rich, how was your night man? I have one observation before we get to Aaron Rodgers, who finds himself in the news. I think just because he has such a polarizing person. How about this? Just 'cause he's Aaron Rodgers. Honestly, the guy could fart at a press conference in his news. Oh, what are they eating? Yeah. Was that far that? I don't know. I think it was meatloaf Johnson. We were here live at a packers training camp and he let one slip, just letting you know, I think he's a little gassy today. Aside from one of the receivers dropped a few. But yeah, I think the story of the day here, Johnson is Aaron Rodgers, look at a little bloated. Head tacos. Tacos at a taco Tuesday. I'm gonna work on his face. It might have been, in fact, a shark. It's Aaron Rodgers. Aaron rod polarizing. So whatever he says will be taking it will be taken. Out of context, but he just examine it a little more. And we'll get to Aaron Rodgers. We're also going to get to how you prioritize sports in your life. Can you push away family? For sports. And I'll explain how a story we'll get to that, but I wanted to bring this up because I know we have a bunch of random people listening all over the country. All over the world. Good morning. Good morning. Joel. Ricky, we got people of different backgrounds, ages everywhere. When we were kids, think about when you were a kid, don't you feel when I was a young warthog. When he was a young lord hall. You are living the dad life, huh? So when I was a kid, I feel like I took the bus or I walked to school, right? I feel like it was like, yeah, you went to the bus stop with your little he man or ALF lunchbox. My little backpack on, my corduroy pants. And I waited for the bus driver. You get on the bus? Make a little paper airplanes, you know, talk to your little buddies, you go to school. And then you got a little older, and you're like, I'm gonna walk to school. If you live locally enough, I'm gonna walk. I feel like now, my kids and kindergarten, and I've seen it before just with traffic patterns, but now that you live by a school. Now that I'm in the mix, does every kid have the chauffeur drop off like the parents kick up, drop them. I want a hat. Do kids take buses or walk anymore? Or does every kid get the front door service? We're in LA and everything's upside down and backwards in LA. We're very jaded as to what the real life is like. I'm pretty sure school buses are still in business. It's just everything about the school system here is weird. It's like, yeah, hey, on Tuesdays, you get out at one 30. It's like, how is that convenient for any parent? I know, 'cause parents don't work out here, apparently. I don't get it. You got a whole foods any time of the day. 24 hour fitness, go there any time of the day is packed with people and you wonder, do they work? Of course they can pick their kids up at one 30. What's going on? Nothing. Yeah, everything's backwards. We don't see school buses out here. Have you ever noticed that every school is wild around pickup and drop off like this? Buses and walking don't seem to exist? Yes, but the school buses and the drop off lane are usually the same lane. Why would you do that? I'm telling you, I live pretty close to a school. Come like 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I feel like it's getting out of Dodger Stadium. I feel like traffic up 200% started on Monday. There are people double parked parents yelling at each other. I'm probably 5 blocks from a school, and sometimes I'll see people creeping onto my block, parking in front of my house. I'm like, who's this? Oh yeah. You parked down the block. You know, you want to hear the most embarrassing thing, Joel? By the way, we're convinced and rich, and we're going to talk about Aaron Rodgers. I'm curious where he's going here. Plenty of embarrass, let's go. It's not Aaron Rodgers. I think he farted yesterday. He's in the news. It's not Aaron Rodgers. Okay. My daughter said to me the other day. Dad. Oh no, dad. Do you mind washing your car before you pick me up? And I did like a sucker. I did. 'cause I did notice it, 'cause I did take a road trip, and sometimes you take a road trip and your car comes back like you were in a safari. And while you're at it, can you get a better car tail? Yeah. But I'm definitely at that stage, you know? Did you tell her if you don't wash your hands? If you watch out the civic, it doesn't turn into a Tesla. You told her that, right? Yeah, I guess she's trying to polish the turds. If you're going to drive this turn, at least I keep it clean. So we've learned a few things. You don't want your team streaking or all hot at the same time, because they all slump at the same time. And at some point in your life, you become your kids chauffeur. Yeah. We're in the Mercedes Benz Benz Dan Patrick studio. Maybe you need one of those. I definitely need one of those. Definitely. All right, well listen, we're going to get to Aaron Rodgers next. If you don't know what we're talking about, Aaron Rodgers had some words about his young wide receivers and so far it's like the hot story of the day. Yeah, that's the big story. I think it's because it's sort of a slow day, but I think because it's Aaron Rodgers. It's a huge news. People dig in a little more. And we'll get to that. Plus, pushing your family away for sports, it's all coming up, coming on rich. And for Dan Patrick, now let's talk about Stifel. We all have different ideas about success. We achieve it at different times at different ways now. Is Aaron Rodgers Straight?

"I really can substantiate whether this is an absolute bearding situation, even though I never seem to believe Aaron Rodgers is ever really, truly into any of his girlfriends, whether it was Olivia, was Olivia Munn, what Olivia wasn't. I always forget, mine, Danica Patrick, or Shailene Woodley. I never really none of them look real to me. I mean, Olivia Munn kind of basically told people back when this whole thing went bad on them, that remember she said, one of her boyfriends, a very famous boyfriend, didn't want to go down on her or something. She was, I think she was being very coy and not wanting to name Aaron Rodgers. Listen, I can't substantiate it. I just think I just don't think Adam, I'm just doing Aaron straight. I just don't think he's straight. I don't. Very mercurial, very roundabout, very you can't really kind of pin him down, I think he thinks he has the whole world full like he did with the vaccination, but there's a lot of things off about him. There really are.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley Break Up

"Well, I said the Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his mercurial girlfriend actress Shailene Woodley would break up well, it happened it happened Wednesday. The power couple called off their engagement after less than two years together. And listen, you can say what you want, but to me, this has shailene name written all over it. She told him she wanted out. And at some point, Aaron wanted to stay, but then I think, at some point, he said, you know what? Fuck it. I can't take it anymore. There's too much of her talking and I'll get to that in a second, but some of you might be thinking, well, maybe the bearding contract was over age, right?

"And I certainly am sad about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A lot of people are glad Green Bay lost because of Aaron Rodgers because the left is mad at him because he's speaking out against the Biden administration and the COVID mandates and stuff. So they don't like Aaron Rodgers. I guess pretending that he's not one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Tom Brady, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. And face it, if you were watching the game yesterday, you told yourself, Brady's gonna do it again. They were down 27 to three and came roaring back tied it up and I hate to I'll probably get attacked the minute I walk out this door for saying this because this is Tampa Bay, and this is buck's country Tampa Bay didn't deserve to win that game. They just didn't, I mean, I'm sorry. Mistake after mistake, penalty after penalty. But what a weekend

Players Push Back Against Sheer Illogic of COVID Protocols in Professional Sports

"Texted me here, he said out of nowhere. He said, really hope we don't go through the insanity of canceling and postponing games again for this winter in spring. Need to decision makers to push this nonsense. I say, what are you talking about? NFL NBA and hockey. And so then I looked it up 20 browns players tested positive and 9 to ten rams players. Now then I went and I saw the story on the blaze dot com Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield lashed out at the NFL over the league's Chinese coronavirus protocols after 19 players were placed on the COVID-19 list ahead of the important games that will determine their standing in the playoffs. Mayfield fired off a series of tweets criticizing the protocols. Quote, NFL make up your mind on the protocols, showing up and making only three teams test, also you can keep the games scheduled to make money. And this is true. So what's happening in the NFL is because the vaccine is not working as they told it was, obviously, a 100% vaccinated leagues are now having massive outbreaks, they're not even testing every single team because they know if they tested every single team, the league would completely fall apart. So instead of actually caring about natural immunity early intervention or Therapeutics, they're testing teams rather selectively. So Baker Mayfield will now miss the browns game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, do you remember when Aaron Rodgers? Got tested positive for the Fauci virus and everyone condemned him because he was unvaccinated, but now other people who are fully vaccinated are testing positive and the media doesn't cover the fact that the vaccines not protecting them.

"rodgers " Discussed on The Paul Finebaum Show

"The pride passion and pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul Fein bomb show our four podcast. And welcome back. We have reached the final hour on this Tuesday night. We've had a lot of conversation about Saturday and at some point we will turn the page, but we thought we would get a real expert to break down what happened right and wrong. And Jordan Rodgers, joining Jordan, we've had this Georgia conversation with you. Every week. And I'll just sit back and put my feet up and let you tell us what you saw Saturday afternoon in Georgia. Well, Paul, I don't want to completely just get the receipts out, but I feel like for a few weeks now, I was prepping Georgia fans on stetson Bennett. Now, there's a lot that went on in this football game to have Alabama score the way they did on this defense. But the one reservation I had about the quarterback position for Georgia was that it was untested. There wasn't much adversity that it faced. And if it needed to, could it be a passionate attack? Could it be a dropback attack? And really, I just continued the last couple of weeks to look back over the games that they were tested with stetson Ben as the quarterback in the common thread was turnovers. You look back last year, Florida and Alabama, multiple turnovers in both those games. Florida this year, multiple turnovers. And again, at Alabama, almost started the game with a pick 6. Jordan battle probably should have grabbed that first pass and taken it to the house. But two more interceptions. Now, I think stats have played a lot better than those two interceptions maybe show. Made some really big time throws. Down the middle, especially hit Bowers a couple times. Made a couple of plays with his legs. But again, you're only going to be as good as you, your quarterback plays in big moments and his propensity to turn the football over has really been the Achilles heel for Georgia. Again, could they have played better on defense? Yes. Did they need the guard jamison? Absolutely. Had to run with him. But that was something that we knew might be an issue. So looking forward, I thought there was a moment in the third quarter that Kirby might go to JT. Just because the situation they were in, right? This is a quarterback in stats in an offense that loves to play action pass and when they can run the football, they're passing a passing game can be vertical. It can play off of the play action, but when you're behind, that's not the case. You need to go more spread Todd monkey and is more of a spread guy JT fits that mode a little bit more. Now, I don't know if a full change needs to be made, but if you look forward and you have time to prepare for the playoffs, you go, we might be in another opportunity like this. I think JT is still the best option for that type of game. Obviously they didn't need that this year, which is why stetson was where he was and the situation they got into. So I don't think it was all bad, but it was the recipe that I thought might happen. The vertical passing game for Alabama was too much and when Georgia is not able to dictate the football game, that's the result I expected and that's the result we got. Jordan at that point in the game, it was desperation time. Why do you think Kirby smart stayed the course? It's tough. If you don't write after half. And I don't think you need to make the change right after half. Give stats and one more drive to problem is that's and continue to make one or two big throws. One or two plays that you're like, okay, he's not, it wasn't like an Alabama last year or a Florida last year, or even a Kentucky last year where it was all bad sets in, right? It wasn't. There was the bad decision, the turnovers, but there were still some good throws, so I think of your Kirby. It was a really tough spot because to bring a quarterback cold off the bench that hasn't played a lot of football in that environment is tough. So while your quarterback stetson's still making a few plays, I think he made the right decision and leaving him out there rolling with it and hoping that they could get something going, because at that point, it's a little too late to decide, okay, let's go to the guy that hasn't played in the big moments. It hasn't played a lot of significant football in a long time. Now with the time off to prepare for the playoffs, could be a different story, whether either guy starts, right? At that point, JT could be more prep for that opportunity if needed. But stetson just did a little bit each time you thought are they going to make a change? Are they going to make a change? So I think it made it tough on Kirby. Flipping it around defensively. What did you see? How can that be corrected against a different type of team? Yeah, it's going to be a different attack. Michigan is much more of a physical, they want to run the football is not as dynamic, maybe as Bryce is going to be. So it'll play a little bit more until what they want to do, but against Alabama, it was the D threat. They couldn't run with jamison. And also, there's about three breaks or excuse me, busts and coverage, which is completely out of character for a Kirby smart defense. That was the big catch and run by jamison. And then Jameson just being Jameson. Now, I will say, I think Alabama is going to be different because they struggled in the third quarter when John met you wasn't out there. Jamison is a run and catch guy. Matching is a catch and run guy. And I think they really miss that element in their offense. So something to look forward to for Alabama or maybe be a little worried about is not having that element. It's more of a slave Bolden slot kind of guy, but he's not the dynamic athlete to match he is. So I just think it was a buzzsaw for Georgia. These games, we say it and I don't think it sinks in, really. These are about matchups. And it was a bad matchup for Georgia because they have elite speed one of the best wide receivers in the entire country that can take the top off. And they got into a game that wasn't set up for how they want to play football. So it doesn't mean it's going to look the same against Michigan. I think this game against Michigan fits much more into where Georgia lives defensively, not as dynamic of a vertical threat as a Jameson Williams. So they match up much better against Michigan than they would against Alabama. But who knows? They might have to see him again. So they're going to have to fix something. Jordan, I think it is somewhat premature to look too far ahead. But in the event, I mean, we got 5 weeks to talk about this, not like we're wasting time. But if George and Alabama meet again, what do you think will be different other than possibly the quarterback? Well, it's going to be so different because there's not John metchie. When you have a Jameson Williams and a John metchie, you can't say, okay, let's double team this guy. Because you're leaving still one of the best receivers in the entire country, one on one. And they compliment each other's games so well, especially as I just mentioned Jameson being a deep guy, met you being a guy that works underneath. So without you, now you can go, okay, let's double Jameson. Let's make sure we always have safety rotation over the top of jamison and let's make Slade Bolton trace on Holden. Let's make anybody else beat us. Anybody else that needs to catch the football because I don't think they've proven to have a clear cut game changer outside of jamison or mechie came lot to maybe a guy that's a little bit more involved billings leaves, maybe a guy that works a little bit more, but no one's met you. So that will be an interesting thing to see how it develops. Because I do think Georgia started to slow them down at some point when the catch and run guy wasn't available in John mechie. So I think it's better. It'll be a better matchup for Georgia the second time around if as your fans and maybe SSE fans want to see they get another shot at it. Let's back up to New Year's Eve and talk about Cincinnati and in Alabama. I know you've seen a lot of Alabama and certainly we've all seen Cincinnati from a distance. How does that match up work? Well, think it's interesting. Look, Cincinnati and Desmond Ritter are a good offense and Alabama, they've gotten better at defense, but right now, I think they've improved most upfront and I still think there's some opportunities in the secondary as we saw with Georgia Kool-Aid McIntyre still flashes at times and really struggles to play the ball at times. So I think that's something that Cincinnati can take advantage of if I was the quarterback in Desmond Ritter, I'd walk up to the line of scrimmage and I'd go away from Josh Joe. I'd go at number one until he proved that he could make a play..

"It should be in pretty damn good for a while. Have a game like that using bounce back that respond in the last week all the crap they took throw academies got it touched out packers stiers fee on it right now it. Right by baggers ear four touchdown game for our and jones like to say a lot of and it's nice to come back in you after a game like that. I'm kobe. we are jalen and jacoby. what is it that we do. We get a huge win. Four last night huge win the lines. They were off by three points at halftime against the green bay. Packers jalen win the lines. I mean the have new game come. What a win new signs you you. Mvp jared goff going to the best tight end in the hocken sin at the back is all. You saw winning at the half. Seventeen to fourteen we at in our roger. Aaron jones on the waltz at the have and then there was the second half second-half during which aaron jones and aaron rodgers made the lines. The absolutely foolish absolutely foolish. Jalen what happened in the second half won the first half it was more like that was the first half celebration that we have right and then in the second half is more like neil so aaron. Joel's had one two three four touchdowns and i was actually rooting for him. Because he was paying homage to his late. Father and i was rooting for him. I'm glad he did really will. Aaron rodgers guys go in the second half. He found davante adams particular. Own a beautiful bomb in the third quarter. And then before you know it the row was on the row was on and then the only thing was not the pay a tissue to was a couple of things that are really important. What jamal is gonna give me a touchdown. Because i bet that he would hope would allies cover. You met then they would twelve and a half two and a half almost two touchdowns and in this very oh no twelve and a half points and you lines couldn't even cover jalen. This was a doubt race last night. He said like honestly. I don't think you're gonna win a game. I don't think they're going to win a game. I don't come. I don't think they'll cover the entire season. There is a serious concern about this football team when you look at the nfc north which one of these teams is good. Houston that's me. Which one of these things is. Good well for those. They wanna cherry pig. Jj material we let you know just it feels is going to be start against the lions when they play. That's his first star when you look at that division. There isn't a team as you. Just show that's undefeated which means we're still in striking distance. That's all that means. we still strike it. Is you saw the bears. You buy the lines closer. Going on strike. The lines are closer to going on strike then to be within striking distance to win. The division would be less surprised if they literally on strike and stopped playing for dan campbell. Then if they actually threatened to win the division packers are gonna have that division easily. That game last night was interesting but it was aaron rodgers after the game. Who had this to say. Which was i just think people like to say a lot of both and it's nice to come back here after a game like that little little weight here at the end. What do you think we think of the week on this disappointed. He didn't make reference to scotch after a game like that. Dad has to be the focus. But i see them getting hydrated anytime somebody not about the turn up. They got a bottle of water..

"It's it's stunning the fact that the relationship which you've chronicled so much on on this show about Him and management and how much. That has deteriorated. How much he feels failed. How much feels not communicated to merely resulted one of the greatest players of all time retiring on top while also not people probably dismiss that. Oh whatever you were fifty fifty. But clearly he was hurt the recall as well on the interceptions where he's knowing he seeing them in his head. He's like oh that's grant that's number forty two. He's he's replaying them in the head interceptions from seven years ago in one case sixteen years ago touchdowns from sixteen years ago random running backs ed one hundred yard games so then fumbles jerick williams. He had the details. You're looking at them up while he was while he was going and he had almost all of the details right on every single game also enjoyed the rare glimpse into not the arrogance but the supreme confidence which was when he was talking about well. I kind of helped revolutionize this position. The game is different now than when i started as a quarterback was super interested a bunch of touchdowns and not very many interceptions was rare. You saw a bunch of guys back. When i started filling double digit interceptions. Now every season. I looked at the intersection charts like highest twelve now. He's so right about that. I hearing him say you never hear that. Hearing him say 'i revolutionized the position. I changed the way the game was played because we're all now caretakers with the football. "Hello and welcome to south beach sessions. You know if you've been listening to this show for a while. That one of my favorite athletes is aaron rodgers for a lot of different reasons but it starts with an admiration of the craftsmanship at the position and the learning. He's tried to do on this journey in public. So i like asking him questions outside of football and i know you wanna hear about his off season. It was eventful and it was dramatic. And i will ask him about it before the interview is over. But i'd like to ask him. And i think he comes on with us for extended periods. Because i like to ask him about life and things he has learned so he is now engaged to be married and the first question i have for him. And thank you for joining us. Aaron on south beach sessions. The first question. I have for you is what can you tell us you've learned about love. What has the path toward love. Been like for you. Yeah great start to that thank you so much and oh man i in most important is love yourself. After that everything comes easy and along the path. Where would you say that that got easiest or where was it. Hardest right because i imagine as you're becoming an adult and growing their spots where you identify with what you're doing professionally and perhaps you don't love yourself the way that you might have otherwise. Yeah that's a good point. I think a lot of it is just reconditioning You know kind of Shedding the conditioning of our youth recognizing patterns that we learned As young people You know some patterns were directly based on interactions with our parents or friends some patterns where survival in whatever environment. I'm talking about like maybe some. Some people probably violence situations or dangerous situations for others just survival of the day-to-day to day. Status quo and recognizing those patterns and trying to make a conscious changes to those in the moment To allow you to overcome Fears emotional trauma anything from your childhood. Still kind of impacts the way you see view and interact in the world that when did you start dissecting some of that stuff It's been a while. I've been working on those things. I think more recently as able to find kind of words for the process. I went through a a weekend With the hoffman institute. Which is you know has long been known for the last forty plus years as An institute that that helps you With childhood traumas emotional Issues kinda just loving yourself. Better and growing They have week long. Retreats they have shorter stuff and i took the two day this off season and and it was impactful and kind of gave me the words so i've been working on for a number of years now. What led you there. I think in general when covert hit in early twenty twenty and travel that i love doing slowed down. I started to just really dive into my other favorite passionate. That's learning and different subjects..

"That we're gonna playoff team and you add. Aaron rodgers said that nucleus middle a super bowl team that needs to be priority option. Number one and two shawn watson needs to be option number three thousand five hundred and seventy eight. It's insane. how can you do that tree and all these leagues are coming out. And there's so many thoughts. I have could be a situation where the dolphins and texting throw in the eagles name out. There leaking it. Because they want to say hey. The eagles obviously could use a franchise. Quarterback jalen hurts on proven. They have all this fix. It makes sense their quarterback factory however unless making traits could be you know getting the market up for him saying dolphins. Hey take our offer. Take our offer or the tech insane. Hey you need up your old for or it could be negative situation. People who don't want us to take them. The eagles are leaking this time and time again to lessen the pr blow the habits. When they eventually made the trade of the trade came out of nowhere there are no rumors. This offset happened. People would lose lose their knots. So we've been talking about it for literally months now. it lessens. The blow in the trade actually happens because we prepare for it mentally emotionally professionally in terms of the media since then and he's in philadelphia. I hope people in that press conference media members grill the crap out of him jeffey. Laurie harry rose knicks. Whomever because they deserve it. All those figures do the shawn. Watson comes to philadelphia aaron rodgers top three quarterback while tom brady and pitman gave me the most talented and if a player ever talented shawn watson. It's not get his twenty five. He has fifteen years ahead of the nfl objectively taking everything else out of the equation just looking at an ina. Vacuum should be leak. What rack for fifteen years. But he's probably not going to be because of everything else going on with him. Aaron rodgers give me those three four years of his career. I trade all three first round pick from next year again. He's going to dictate where he wants to go. Maybe it doesn't want to come to philadelphia. That's fine but that should be your priority option. The shawn watson shawn watson. Are you kidding me disgusting. It's really disgusting repulsive think that that guy could be eagles quarterback and it's not impossible which hurts even more. So you're saying you're random team hasn't been linked to them all off season. You're saying hey i mean what. Have you got the shawn watson. that'd be terrible. No it's realistic. It feels like there's so much smoke there the other night. I'm just i was talking to some fellow eagles. Some other eagles beat writers and people in the media. Saying how could you do this. How could you look the fan base in your arm. And their odds and think that this is okay. I think after all this talk of rebuilding the culture here the dissension in the lock. Remember last couple of years bringing figure like that into here is just mind-numbingly stupid stupid and on top of being stupid just morally flat out wrong. I mean everyone with a brain of saying this stuff. I'm just kind of vent and let me go different sean. Do not bring him here. Magin the podcast when they trade for midday trade for him. Where'd be ray show producer. She going to be bringing out the bath bomb. Bleepers out. Like in the podcast. I did and the aftermath of the eagles trading offer devante smith is going to be like that resulted the bleeper audio track reading case illustrate for to shawn watson. What else you got go on. Eagles worth signed steven nelson on sunday of auntie. Mannix non outsi- cornerback in nfl. Maybe not even. Nfl player right now was going to be outside. Cornerback outside of opposite daria slow. Who's ever rated but still pretty decent steven nelson competent. If a player down your last year bevin in two thousand eighteen and twenty nineteen..

"Breaking news here on. Nfl live glad. You're with us today. Aaron rodgers and the packers according to adam schefter may be nearing a new look deal that would allow aaron rodgers. Feel more comfortable with reporting to the team. Of course he would need to report tomorrow. That's when camp starts but they actually don't practice until wednesday for the first time that you may see him at practice would be ten ten. Am central on wednesday. We'll keep you posted on that at. What's the one reason why this new deal and the concessions in place will get done to where we would see. Aaron rodgers back with the packers next season. We'll still emphasize again that the packers officials still have to sign off on their willingness to trade. aaron rodgers. if that's what he wants and assuming that they do that and why wouldn't they because it's the way to get him back to green bay for this upcoming season that will mean that the biggest concession that aaron rodgers will have extracted from green bay is the freedom to play twenty. Twenty two where he wants now. Maybe that'll be green bay where he hasn't been entirely happy towards the chances are maybe it won't and so by agreeing to this. Reworked deal today. That the packers still to sign off on that aaron rodgers will have to sign in when this agreement does get done and it's close. That is the biggest thing that aaron rodgers will get not money now. What power not more. Anything the freedom to play where he wants in the twenty twenty two season so as you hear the concessions and you listen to how things his flat out you think. About the fact that we've known this was such a standoff on both sides right and you're looking right now just how good. Aaron rodgers was last season. Of course he's the league. Mvp and so much of the talk was maybe proved him wrong. Maybe they didn't think that in when they drafted jordan love. Who won this meena. I think this is as close as you're gonna get to a win win. Outcome for robbers really the only leverage he had the only leverage any player on a contract has is holding out. Which if he wasn't going to do that he got what he wanted. Which is the second thing he wanted. After being traded which is having the option to leave after one season similarly to what brady ended up getting with new england course. Aaron saw the outcome with brady like every other quarterback in the nfl got a little bit closer to it. If you're a packers fan today. I think you're feeling pretty good because not only this rogers come back through that process. You're probably going to clear up some space deal done with devante atoms but also after this season even if he leaves you still have a tradable asset. You're still going to get some return for him. Which again is better than him. Just retiring and walking out the door so you get one more season at least with him into private of his career. And if it's over after this year it's not the deal is voting. It's that they can trade. Which means you're probably going to get multiple picks in return so i from green bay's perspective. This is undoubtedly a good outcome. Couldn't agree more. I mean i think the best deals are the ones where each side leaves a little bit on. The table isn't totally one hundred percent happy but can live with the deal for aaron knowing exactly what he was facing which was an uphill battle in terms of trying to control his exit green bay. This is probably as close as he's going to get to controlling his exit at green bay. If in fact adam is alluded to that's what he decides. Come january february green bay. We get the kind of the best of both worlds. We get you for this year just like we said we were gonna because we don't have to do anything this year. We get the continue to benefit from this roster that we're putting together hopefully get past tampa bay or whoever it is that keeps us from getting to the super bowl. You know all things falling in the right direction going the way we want we win the super bowl and then maybe you want to stay. Maybe you don't at that trade values not going to be any higher than to possibly be if we won the super bowl and you had another mvp season and you a super bowl mvp. We'll get you for four number ones. Who knows three. You know how desperate teams get or you stay here. I think green bay made up pretty well. Aaron gets a little bit of what he wants towards his exit out of their average. Just doesn't feel like the news here is going away anytime soon as we've alluded to throughout the show. Maybe aaron rodgers is looking to add more pieces. Not asking you to report anything. But what can you add to that well again. I think he's going to have some say over personnel. And i think he's going to have some influence over players that the packers might consider bringing in here this summer to help that final roster here this upcoming season but again the biggest thing that rogers gets today is. He comes back for one more season with the ability to leave after this year. If he doesn't like the way it's going in the packers get back the reigning nfl and bp assuming they sign off on all these final concessions again. Tomorrow dave the name. David aaron rogers would need to report. We'll of course have all the latest where you tomorrow right here on. Nfl live do you own or rent your home show you do. We will give you more as soon as we have. It wanted to make sure your updated on that breaking news as well today with adam schefter just a little before four. Pm eastern coming out with the latest on aaron rodgers aaron rodgers of course has been such a story for the last few months ever since the breaking news at the draft where we found out that he was not happy with the packers. Now maybe things are changing. It's amazing. how quickly that can happen. Sometimes even as recently a week ago adam reporting that things were not looking positive for these two sides to meet in any sort of agreement. Let's bring him back in here. And adam just remind us of all the logistics. What's required to make these next steps. As we're nearing the date that aaron rodgers report to camp which is tomorrow. We'll lord they will both have to officially agree to the new deal and rodgers will have to sign a new contract that would void the current last year of the deal. Two thousand twenty three now. They can't put into writing at. They'll promise to trade him. After the season but i think there is an understanding between both sides and the packers still have to sign off on this which again could always prevent a deal from going through but there's no reason for green bay not to agree to this because visa types of concessions. That always made sense that we're going to be the ones in the end that we're able to get amrozi. But as long as they agree to hear him out and promised to trade him if he's still not happy and they agreed to do that when they talked to him. Then yes this deal is going to agree to. It's gonna get signed. There would be a new contract that signed. That would lop off that last year that would create more cap room for green bay against the cap this year so they could go and spend more money to try to help. Aaron rodgers win again. It sounds a little similar to the tom brady model whereas deal voided. He got more cap room. Got more say into personal. Some the things that. Tom brady executed in his final season. In new england and his first season in tampa bay and so air rogers was not looking for the money because the packers offered a contract that would have been the richest contract in all of sports other than the one given to lionel messi and roger didn't take that deal that's not what he was looking for the money he was looking to improve the environment around him. He was looking to be a little bit empowered over some of the personnel decisions and most important the ability to leave their after this season. If that's what he wants and he doesn't see changes and so that is the situation by taking off the last year the deal by leaving two years on the deal after the season the packers will either have to trade him or give him a huge new extension to keep them in green bay. Some wondered atom if this would just be aaron rodgers stepping away from football. This assures to me is. It's nothing like that at all. In fact it really shows his intensity toward winning and how badly he wants to win another super bowl how badly he wants that opportunity to feel like he's got the players around him in the front office the management behind him to do that. How close was this to not happening. Because you reference said even a week ago things were looking good. Yeah i think that about a week ago. If you ask me i would have said that he would not have been in camp and i think that was the plan in his own mind and i think he was looking to win and of course try to change some of the culture around him and i think over time we've seen the packers say you're going to be involved in personnel decisions. Only to see that he's not they prepare jordan love during the off season. The event aaron rodgers wouldn't be there after skipping the off season program and skipping the mandatory minicamp but again assuming they agreed to these final conditions. Aaron rodgers will be there for training camp in this season and once again jordan love with another year without the playing time that he probably desperately needs. That's a secondary piece of the story. This is dc in our seat. I'm daniel call me. i'm a former two division. ufc champion. and. I'm a bad mammoth jam. Yes he is. "Seeking the type of new contract at the packers offer when they offered to make him the highest paid player in all of sports other than lionel messi and he turned down that deal. This is about the way things are on. This is about structure. This is about creating a path for aaron rodgers to leave green bay. Potentially after this season the packers avoided the two thousand twenty. Three season on aaron rodgers deal which was the last year in his contract and they've also agreed to promise to review is situation after this year so if aaron rodgers still wants to trade after this year he can get the two sides will sit down and review that after this season. So this agreement. If and when it is finalized aaron rodgers still is in california as we speak awaiting final approval. If it gets done at that point in time then our rogers would be set up to play one more season in green bay. The packers would get to hold off on keeping your love there now for all the people who say this is obvious and this was expected all along. Let me tell you that. As of last week aaron rodgers plan was not to show up to training camp and to not play this season and the talks intensified over the weekend to the point where they offered. The packers did enough in the way of concessions to get aaron rodgers to change his stance. This stance was no goat. That was the plan and the plan change as it sometimes can when training camp approaches and now they're trying to finalise this agreement that will give in rogers more control of risk future that will allow him some say there that will allow him to come back to green bay which is what the actors wanted. Which i think he's done inside with is what aaron rodgers was comfortable with but not under the existing terms of the way it existed. And that's why these conversations when and on all of season and that's why aaron rodgers asian. Dave don was in green bay last weekend to try to come to an agreement that they could not figure out and why the talks continued all week. And why late last week roger study was not coming in and over the last twenty four hours. There was this shift. That looks like it's going to result in this deal that will bring out. Rogers probably back to green bay adam. You were the one who broke the news at the draft. That aaron rodgers was not happy in green bay. You've been so close to all of this all along from the packer standpoint. You could understand why they would say well. We don't want you to just play one more year. We wanna see how long we can stretch this thing out. If that's what's best for both sides but did this really come down to. If this deal is done. Aaron rodgers just wanting to play one more year with the packers. That's what he wanted this whole time. No i don't think that's laura. I think that he wanted more control over. And when you look at the concessions that were given to him in this deal again. The last year of the deal knocked off the table. The idea that the packers will sit down with him after this year to review that contract and consider a trick that time put on the table and again these are part of the agreements that are rogers made with the green bay packers. I think there are other things that would have made him more comfortable. And i think he would have liked even more concessions made but the concessions were not about money. They were real and green bay recognized that it wasn't going to have its quarterback enlisted adjusted some of these concessions which was able to do over the last twenty four to forty eight hours and again. We'll wait to see that they finalized this agreement but that is the situation that they are now working on with. Rogers expected back once. This agreement is done with our rogers. Probably playing his last season in green bay and with him setting up a clear and natural path to his departure that everybody can prepare for because after the season. I think green bay will have another year seasoning jordan. Love maybe trades. Aaron rodgers will have some say over where it does in dozen trade him to and if nothing changes in green bay than aaron rodgers can get traded after this year but again maybe they will change enough and make him fall in love again enough to one. That's the opportunity that the organization looks like. It could have your coming up in the months and season to come. Yeah adam buying time on both sides either way. Aaron rodgers is said. His future is a beautiful mystery. Maybe now with a little more control even if it's not as much as he wanted it's a little less of a mystery. We'll see if it's still beautiful. Let's welcome in the other people on the show today. We've got meena kinds. And louis riddick as well as adam for the entire hour so keep it locked all the latest on this aaron rodgers and this breaking news out of green bay at the thing that you think about as you hear what adam is telling us is what does that mean going forward. Even after this year is aaron rodgers. Saying they're saying. I'm gonna wait and look at the landscape at that point the nfl and see. If there's a better place that i could end up going my options. What is your initial reaction to hearing this breaking news. Well like everyone. I've been sort of listening to add. The details have been trickling in in. My opinion has been changing as we've learned more information when he. I said you know one year rogers could be done. I was thinking. Wow that's bad for green bay because not only does he get the concession. He wanted which is easily immediately instead of having those final. Two years in green bay. But will they get out of it even a compaq now hearing that the year that's being voided is two years out and the agreement in place is that he has the option to request a trade after this season and green bay would have to agree to it. If i'm listening. If i hearing out incorrectly i actually think that's a pretty good for the team because either you win the championship this year. And i'm guessing he stays because everybody's happy or you have a valuable trade asset and you get that one final season with him and you can trade him and it's not like you didn't get anything out of it because i guarantee you in one year. Some football team is going to give up a lot for aaron rodgers. And then you can transition to your rookie to me. That's actually a pretty decent result for green bay especially considering all of the drama this off season. It sounds like really green bay. Concession is the right word. they've conceded one year to them. They still have the right to trade him in two thousand twenty two or they have the right to go ahead and say hey you know what we think. It's best based on what we've seen from jordan love through training camp through practice during the regular season and through your play aaron during the twenty one season twenty twenty one season. We think it's best that we keep here and hopefully you feel good about the things that you're doing so then we still get what we want so really green bay knocked off a year but this almost like just delaying this decision. There putting down the year one roof. What you know down. The road puts in this decision down the road for one season and still set themselves up to say. Hey look either we try this guy away for a bounty of picks or we win anyway because he plays even better than he didn't twenty twenty and everybody's happy and potentially we're winning a championship. It's an interesting deal. They've i think it's the best that they could possibly do right now as far as getting what they need right now on the team side while at the same time basically still holding the cards in their favor and going forward and twenty twenty two for erin hopefully hopefully after this one year if again things remain kind of the same his mind as far as i still think it's best me to move on based off of all the things that i've alluded to as far as the relationships not being what i want. I still think it's best to move on. I'm sure he's banking on the fact that they will honor that if that in fact still is the case come january or february twenty twenty two. I guess now we don't have to talk about it anymore..

"Of those issues had to do with a will. There were a number of reasons for the fact that as defensive started to play them. Differently as tyler self playing more too high. The offense didn't evolve in response in some of that wasn't it wasn't all on important. Brian schottenheimer some of that was on wilson himself. But to me the success of this office this year the question of whether or not they can sort of return to the forum. We saw at the beginning of last season. It all depends on whether or not that evolution has happened whether the offense can be balanced. And i'm not talking about like a run pass ratio. I'm talking about an ability to take what the defense is giving you. The defense is taking away. The explosives like they did last year driving down the field yards after catch which has been a major problem. I think in the seahawks offense for awhile and his obviously something. The rams do the best in the nfl can walder. Bring some of those principles with into seattle more temple tempo more creativity more integration of the run pass game if he can do all of those things than given all the skill players they have. This office should be lights out. I mean one. I think it's the most talented offense that russell's had since he became a seok. I mean we know the two receivers lock in metcalf spectacular. I think s courage out of western michigan is going to be huge for them. I love edition of gerald ever. Feel like there's a lot of talent on this roster specifically offensively skill position wise. Now we go back to last year. I think this offense can be just as exposes at the was for like the first two thirds of the season last year but not so dependent on russell wilson. I mean this was such an explosive offense because russell was so good like russell was as spectacular as any quarterback. We had in the league year but they asked him to do so much. And i think two things need to stand out this offense because i know shane waldron. I was with him and seventeen. Nine zero this offensive scheme. They are going to give russell easy things. I think we did a tape breakdown last year of it russell tech the easy stuff and then to your point the young men the easy stuff has to be taken from the quarterback given to the receiver and then do something with it guys because the coach will be more apt to call that stuff. So that's the first part and the second part is this. Can they flip last year ten. They somewhat get their feet down. Start a little bit solid or slow and then bill really build to the playoffs. Because the last two years their offense sputtered into the playoffs rather than building into the playoffs. That's the biggest challenge for this. Offense is to flip last year. Be as explosive as they work for the first two third. But not be solely dependent on russell wilson. Yeah you don't wanna live and die by the big play because when that big play it's taken away the offense dies again to go back to balance. It's all pout. Having every potential you know route depths of target the types of weapons us at your disposal mentioned some of the additions that they've made gerald everett from the rams being another great one what we didn't talk about and i think it's worth mentioning. Here's the offensive line. Because i actually think this offensive line which they didn't make a trade for dave jackson. They're in good shape like dan. You said this is the most talented team. I would actually extend that to the line as well. It's not the best line he's ever played with. That was probably the beginning of wilson's career but it's certainly better than those offenses lines in sixteen seventeen eighteen. They are good enough and combined with these skill players combined with quarterback. The ceiling is the sky. And i even go on top of that and say chris carson and his health is a big deal. I'd like to see russel wilson beck under center a little bit more than he was last year and i can't. Yeah underestimate the point of this. Set those skill position players when you say balanced it's a balance of touches right. It's about we don't you don't care how guy sir touches anymore. Whether it's a jet sweep a perimeter screen ball down the field slant stick route. It's just about getting guys touches. And they've got five guys that demand them and it's going to be on shane waldron again to create those easy things for that offense russell to oblige. Because we know they're going to be explosive. We know that they've got big. Play play making capability. But can they kind of pick you apart a to a defense rather than just be. Hey decayed make a special play downfield. 'cause we were part of that in in detroit with calvin launched to calvin see if he can make a play do the little things and they become the big things but as you guys have noted. The pieces are all in place. Forget another deep run for seattle. I think a lot of it is simple. Execute as we saw down the stretch last year that was not something early high enough level still to come on. Nfl live with a potential rogers. Packer split on the horizon. What does this mean for the future of the nfc north. Could we see a new came up. The north in twenty twenty one happens we back. It's the style up. Never beaten in travel back in town. Missed the gut the suci down by mitchell. What he's at three point. Nine messy precipitation my brain game off as down the line. Espn app download now earlier. This off season packers quarterback aaron rodgers declined to two year extension. That would make the highest paid player in the nfl. That according to adam schefter the roger sagas clue that about money. Maybe it's history repeating himself itself. A quarterbacks have won multiple. nfl mvp voids. Aaron rodgers one of them all but rogers played for multiple teams and is obviously subject shape. Let's get back to the man who broke the news this morning from our perspective insight. Shefty what can you add. Aaron rodgers and the packers. We'll be a lot of people. Thought aaron rodgers might want some control over his situation in green bay but clearly the fact that he turned down. This extension indicates that's not the case and in fact rather than offering him a contract extension. That would have made him. The highest paid player in football. It looks like rodman is more interested in a contract reduction than an extension. It looks like the two sides of trying to figure out a way to salvage this relationship to make it work for the short term. Because right now it certainly looks like the clock is ticking. On our rogers time in green bay. If it's not already up and jordan loves time as the starting quarterback of the green bay packers is coming. The question is is it going to be this or next season but it's not far off in everything. The packers have tried to use this off season to lower back. Aaron rodgers meetings on the west coast. Conversations contract offers extensions. Nothing's worked so far and now we are one week away from the day. The packers are scheduled to be in training. Camp o'clock is certainly taking on. Not just aaron rodgers but also the packers and their fortunes which will look a little bit. Different of aaron rodgers was not there espn dot com bill barnwell releases. "Sixteen in green bay just like bart starr spent jesus ingredients quarterback by the way ever played seventeen season in green bay but we don't want to trade him and so that's just in my mind a stance a stance right to stand that point in time. Just like we heard the raiders. One say we will not trade khalil. Mack and the jaguar say we will not trae jalen ramsey. And i know this quarterback. And i know it's a different deal. But that's what they had to say that time we're not gonna trade him as much as he wants to be traded now to your other point about aaron rodgers. I've always felt. I've always felt that. Aaron rodgers and i've said this time and time again needed to get a little bit of mud on and to. He is not being willing to do that. I think he wanted the green bay packers to be the bad guys and just trade him to do everything privately which i applaud for because you've never come out publicly and said all this elsewhere steal. This doesn't want to be there anymore. It's told other people just want to be there anymore right and so he could come out very simply and just say something to this. Mex- i love my coaches in green bay. My teammates in green bay. And i love the time i spent in green bay but greg akers moved on. They trade up to draft a quarterback. And i'm gonna pull in my life where i want to move on. It's nothing personal really interesting. Adam what you're saying talking to adam schefter on the max kellerman show i get your drift. What saying is. It's not so much an issue of guts with rogers in terms of being willing to. Hey sit out a year. It's an issue of him wanting to not get dirt on him he to be clean the way like lebron never wants to be seen as a coach killer that kind of thing and if rogers to date to date passive aggressive about this right. They asked him on the match broadcast against the bears. She hoping we'll see things saw they asked him. What the tahoe golf not. What's going on. You have decision after this going to go back and and think about it and He he's never come. Ask what are you talking about. I'll be there. He's never and said. I don't want you just kinda keeps it going along. And that's that's what he wants to do. He's been passive aggressive about in my mind now again. The other way which has been deuce may may not do it all and just say. Look i like i said i love. I love my coaches little. I'm not coming back. Sorry not coming. Back great shackleton yup sitting out hackers packers could say well what we're trading you so you're gonna retire but as i said you're gonna sit on. Somebody could bring that much in. Return that distraction distraction. Hang over your all year long. No you're going to take the third and the useful player right now. I'd probably get for the guy. You're going to if goth plus two i in a third lands you stafford. You gotta imagine aaron rodgers a useful player three i and another draft pick at least like a monster hall. They could get for this guy. Why wouldn't they do it. Of course they gotta do it if roger yup. They've been unwilling to do that for and we'll see how we'll see if that changes if and when he doesn't show up i don't believe he's showing up to training camp with three years. Left that with that exists is that contract is in place right on that. That's that's what i believe now. If they can come up with something then well maybe he shows at some point in time but I don't even know that that will get it done. Maybe there's money's decided i'm not going back there. I don't know that right. We're waiting to see what he's going to do with this adam. They're telling me i they've been telling me for a couple of minutes. I have to wrap. But i like the info so i got you can beat him to hear that. I'm like you're like you're like my drug dealer on the corner and i just have to keep getting i keep coming back. I'm sorry i it's a very interesting topic to me. i find it. It'd be really interesting. Of course this is going to have ripple effects probably unlike anything we've matter of fact coming up at them. How's this for a tease. I'm gonna tell everyone what the ripple effects are going to be if adam rogers adam. Rogers adam schefter aaron rodgers. Not adam rogers just like. It's not aaron schefter if aaron rodgers leaves the nfc north. Thanks a million. Adam really appreciate it every time he jump on. Thank you have a great day adam. Schefter join me on the goodyear hotline helping you discover the road ahead. Goodyear more driven coming up this year. My yankees will finally be sellers. What's this no doubt. "In me is going absolutely crazy right now and i understand what shift and mike saying about this compromise but man. I'm telling y'all we do not want to be in the locker room with a do that. Don't want to be there. That's a whole nother issue that you can energetic and i get it that his air rogers he's supposed to be above reprieve but dues will get tired of this. They will understand rift that is going on in his locker room in between this front office and that's a whole nother can of worms and a whole nother issue. I'm sure a lot of these guys. Respect their rogers. They understand what he's doing as individual. You gotta make decisions about yourself. But being in the locker room and knowing do don't want to be there and let us stand where they are as a franchise. That's an issue in the locker room. Fellas and i don't care who. It is playing quarterback. I player telling me this week. You can play with angry quarterback like that. You can't have somebody who feels the way he does for station but be in the locker room and so the packers know that and so i also have had another team outside of them suggest what this is the case and we all know where this is going because it is going to a divorce at some point time. Why not if you. The green bay packers basically cut the losses salvage the situation best you can and maximize trade value right now. They don't want to hear that. And they say they're not trading him but that may be the best solution. I can think of a couple of teams right. Now that would load offer and they would be able to get aaron rodgers and the packers to make their team better. This season. Big time better again. Hard to imagine. Here's why they can't do that. Because if our rodgers has gone and they lose their all fired we gotta remember. Worst case. scenario is not losing aaron rodgers. it's losing aaron rodgers and not winning. That's why it goes back to my. How well does your loved you. And mike rogers next spring. You don't have to trade him now. my guess what. They've lost aaron rodgers. they've lost down rod. Thank you thank you because in the lose my mind i was about to lose my mind shafting. Can you mike schefter. You said you can think of several teams that would be willing to put together a huge trade offer right now. Care to speculate about who some of those white be live on the air. Well look. I don't think that the packers would ever want to train them uncomfortable. We're training period. They don't wanna turn and perry. Who's the one team. They called the packers on draft night. The denver broncos they call them that night bronx. They called him that night. I'm gonna guess a couple of months later. They're probably still interested. So that's that looking..

"Rodgers. Here studio with me, too. Hello, Patterson. Hello, Paul Rodgers Okugo. No. So, Tim, did you have a good movie week? This week? I had a pretty good movie week this week. Yes, I saw a number of films. Um, yeah, I had a good week. I would say overall. Okay, Well, good. We are good to have. So I'm happy about that. So what am I gonna trick you with this time? What are we going? Well, you know, you know, by the way, Oh, by the way, I I did just get your email like now. Really remember of Sonia's having all kinds of thousands receiving emails of get you not to use that particular browser. You need to use chrome or something else. I am using Kronk Oh, I thought you were using that other one that you know what you know, It's It's not chrome. It's It's the provider, which I will not even dignify mentioning the name. Yeah, yeah, you see? Yeah. Huh? There you go. Okay. What? Anyway, At least I got it. It was like it was three hours late, but I got it. Okay, Look, before we get to the movies because you have a bunch of movies and they end I you said some of these are really good. And so I do want to get to them fairly quickly, including one that is named after my favorite Scrabble word, uh, holding. Oh, I'm trying to think what that which one that could be, shall see. Okay, but I know anyway, I Just figured it out. Go ahead. Grand Course, of course, is that they are so last week. I had intended to do something that I didn't do. And it was because last Sunday was mother saying we never talked about, you know the really good movies. That are specifically about moms like Mommy. Dearest and there. Oh, there were some really good movies And then on the other side of the scale that there was that bad moms I love that movie. I thought that was really remember that movie. We talked about it at length. Yeah, we both love them. It was a great comedy, wasn't it? And it was so it really made it put you in the shoes of those ladies and weapons What they went through being Moms. Yeah, it was. It was so cool, And it's so opposite of Mommie Dearest, but you know, there's been some pretty good movies that have been about Mom dumb. You know, people being Mom's Yeah, I see what you know. I always think of the old movies. But did you ever see a film called? I remember Mama with Irene Dunne was a great play, too. Yeah, it's a great play, and it's always the first movie that comes to mind when I think of like Mother's Day movies. I mean that Z one You could watch with your mom. Yeah, that was really enjoy. Yeah, Another one was I call this a mom movie, but you might call it something else. The Joy Luck Club. Oh, yeah. Oh my gosh. What a beautiful film that one. It was so good and the stories so different, so compelling and the relationships of these women had with their moms. I mean, I thought that I really liked that movie a lot. And another one that I really liked was terms of Endearment. Yeah, that's a good one, too. When I first saw that movie, I thought it was a little weird, though. I mean, I didn't know where them whether I didn't. I didn't know where Aurora Greenway was coming from here. I think you do. You love your daughter. Do you hate your daughter? Do you love your daughter? Do you hate her, But we know you hate her. Your son in law. You can't stand him And you let your daughter know that every waking hour. Yeah, I loved it. I thought it was great. And I thought I thought she surely McClane right. I thought she was like I felt she was perfect. Um and you know relationships with others could be complicated, and I never had a relationship like that with my mom. But relationships with moms could really be complicated. Mother and daughter the mother and daughter, I think more complicated than mother, son. But what? Why now movie that it was not that long ago. It was within the past several years movie where the scene I remember is the mom and the and the daughter are just going at each other cats and dogs and cats and dogs and cats. Dogs and they're out together. And they're they're like in a in a shopping center in a store, a clothing store, and then one of them goes. Oh, look at this. And the other one goes. Oh, yeah, that would look so good on you. It was like in them this battle against each other, but oh, it was. Oh, gosh, it was the Oh, yes, Bond movies. Come on. I know this movie. Yeah. You know why I can't remember the title because I thought it was way overrated. It was with, uh, sir Sir Ronin and Timothy Shallow may was in that movie. And Yeah, What was the name of that movie? Remember? Um oh, Ladybird, Ladybird, Ladybird, Ladybird. I just That was the relationship between the mom and her daughter that I liked about that. That was the best thing about it, Especially when they're arguing in the car. And she just opened the car door and falls out Members. Just get her mother to, like, Stop nagging her. She almost killed herself, Literally. Yeah, yeah. You know they're complicated relationships, but that it could turn on a dime. So you're fighting cats and dogs. Then all of a sudden, you know you're sharing. It's so true. It's so true. Thinks that when the Sigmund Freud would have some say about all that probably know, probably were there any because I know you're You don't see a lot of movies, Paul, but Alfred Hitchcock I know is one of your favorites. Is there a mom story and an Alfred Hitchcock? Hello, Psycho. Yeah. There you go. Yes. Go and then the mother in strangers on a train who played the and Clary and B, which Oh, Mary in Lorne played the Mother of the of the other psycho in strangers on a train and she played it just like she played and Clara and you can instantly see the way they interacted. Why Bruno was the psycho that he was because his mother was just so like, I mean, she was just did easier than hell. There was also the movie wasn't about mother, but she played a key role within Joker. Oh, God. Yeah. Joker, huh? I love your favorite movie. You know, stomach. I take exception to that. You know when you know what When I saw that, you know, he was up for all kinds of walking Phoenix, right? All kinds of weird. Yeah. Won the Oscar. Yes, he should. But it's not that hard to play a crazy person. Crazy. Yeah, You could just act stupid and that crazy? Yeah, maybe so, but his portrayal was pretty unique. It was pretty damned amazing. And so I agree..
