"Think about it. Brazilian. Everyone is needed to be this year and the Washington football team certainly was yesterday on early deficit did not lead to defeat instead 27 17 1 of the Eagles and Head Goat's Rod Rivera. We showed that we can play with the best team in the NFC East and reform. Sure to come out on top, but our guys both their next when they had to wear down 17 nothing, they responded, and it just kept fighting and talk about fight. "We saw last week. The Democratic convention had things actually play out. Certainly not optimistic, Bruce. I think that came as a bit of a surprise. It really started with the president's speech in Charlotte yesterday. He was only supposed to give a brief remarks to the delegates There ended up talking for 52 minutes and didn't really offer up much optimism. It was just a lot of A long list of grievances of issues the president has with the right wide variety of people in groups and then that extended into the programming. Last night, you heard Republicans in their associates warned of a potential dystopian future of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were to be elected the next president and vice president. They did talk a little bit about President Trump's accomplishments in office. They tried to, in many ways, rewrite his approach to the Corona virus pandemic. But to your point, Bruce, the Republicans were promising that this was going to be all about hope and optimism. And we didn't really see too much of that. Yesterday. First Lady Melania Trump is said to be tonight's keynote speaker from the newly renovated White House Rose Garden. Do we know what to expect from her speech? Maybe now is one. We'll see that hope and optimism. You know, I think there's no doubt Bruce that the Trump campaign is concerned about where the president stands right now, with female voters across the country, particularly White suburban women that the president made no secret of that making, you know, direct outreach to them. Uh and today we think a lot of the focus of the programming is going to be specifically directed towards women. And Melania Trump capping that all off. You know, Melania Trump has a much better approval rating that President Trump. She is genuinely liked Mohr than President Trump is by most Americans, and where Yesterday. We really saw the campaign and the convention seemed to really drive home. The messages that connect with his base. Perhaps tonight will see them try and expand their outreach a little bit more, because it's gonna be difficult for them to win if they can't draw in some independent, maybe even Democratic voters and so far we haven't seen that sort of outreach in this convention. As of yet, is the president gonna be speaking every night of the convention. We do expect some sort of an appearance. They're calling it every night from the President Bruce, you know, Yesterday we saw two little moments from the White House where we saw him with first responders in people that have been dealing with a crowd, a virus pandemic and You know, it could be something along those lines. You know, the Republican Party has promised surprises each and every night, But we know that those surprises in some way, shape or form will include the president. He is the star of the Republican Party. This is the party of Trump on DH. That's exactly how this convention is playing out. Alright. Thanks. Ryan Appreciated as always. CNN, Washington correspondent Ryan Nobles joining us live this morning from the White House, actually. 87 14, now plenty of twists and turns of the saga of Jerry Falwell Jr. Liberty University, said early yesterday that Falwell agreed to Isa resign as president and step down from the board of directors. Once that was reported in the media. The school says Falwell withdrew his resignation. But now Falwell has officially resigned from Liberty, the embattled religious leader told ABC News he turned in his resignation letter to the school last night. This all followed publication of two news stories about his wife's sexual encounters with a much younger business partner. Thousands of people are expected to stream into D. C this Friday for a big March organized by the Reverend Al Sharpton to protest police brutality. The march comes nearly three months after nationwide protests sparked by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis animate continued Corona virus restrictions. It'll also be just a day after President Trump accept the Republican nomination for president from the South Lawn of the White House. We've got everything you need to know about the big event if you're planning to attend, or if you're just looking to navigate around the extents of road closures. "Spaniards so much going on. I'm on this busy Saturday night. Torres. We saw the story out of the Washington Post. When it first came out. I'm like, Oh, wow, This is not going to be good for Dan Snyder. We're going to be young. Let's he's got to sell the team and this is ridiculous. But he wasn't implicated in anything. Nobody came out and said, you know that he was involved now, Of course he is the owner, but it is kind of disturbing that more people are saying he should sell the team. Then we are thinking about, you know, prosecuting the bad people here, and I know where a sports show and that's why I probably have more of that. But they were kind of losing the point. We should be going after the bad people on Dino. Dan Snyder maybe hasn't done the best job running Washington team, But we've got to go after the bad guys and prosecute them Also love first. Yeah, and I'm not trying to get political here. But I think that that has been a microcosm of our society. The last 45 months is that You know, we start talking about the issues and then it becomes about something else altogether. And I think for a lot of Redskins fans that have wanted Daniel Snyder gone. This is an excuse to focus on Daniel Snyder rather than one the victims into the people that were involved. Now they lost their jobs. I don't know if they can be prosecuted, but I think that what we should be focusing on is whoever is the owner of the Redskins. Creating a less hostile work environment, creating an environment where women feel comfortable showing up to work. Reporters feel comfortable showing up if they're female, and that they're not going to be harassed. And I'm with the Army. I think we're spending too much time focusing on Daniel Snyder and him getting rid of the team instead of who's running this thing, making it a better place to work and be around. Well, according to a statement. It didn't sound like a guy that was getting ready to sell the team. Andi, who knows he may buy out the minority owners or get new minority owners. But it certainly sounds like he's in it for the long haul. And I guess if I on the Washington team I'd want to be around for the change is awesome and see if I can get it back on track and bring in a new name. I guess if you were a new owner, you could start with a new nickname. Also one kind of start fresh, so I could see why Washington fans want to get a new owner in there and kind of start fresh in that way, you know? Yeah, And I will say this this not long ago, The same thing happened with the Dallas Mavericks and Mark Cuban. Nobody said that Mark Cuban should sell the team. And so I don't think that Daniel Tonight I should feel obligated really quick, already kind of a talking point that came out of this. I'm curious for your opinion. Ah, lot of people have brought this up, and I think it's fair, doesn't it feel like a lot is being put on Ron Rivera's shoulders right now, like, you know, Daniel Snyder. Even in the statements, he said him myself and coach Ron Rivera trying to create Amore inclusive culture and Ron Rivera's supposedly involved in helping pick out the new nickname. It's like, you know, he's got a lot to worry about. I mean, he's going against, you know, Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys is going against the Eagles twice a year. He's got a lot on his plate, and I feel like there is a lot of non football stuff that is being asked of Ron Rivera. That, frankly, probably isn't fair. No, you bring up a great point. First of all it was he a marketing major in college, you graphic designer. Usually they hired out of, you know. Ah, company, a consultant. Yeah, they kind of crunched the numbers and say OK, after a six month study, we've decided This nickname is good. This one brings you in the most money. This one's the best. Politically correct. That's what's not good for you. This is the one we could have a patent on or we could, you know, trademark. You know what I mean? So you would think that I don't know this Rod Rivera have tied for all that. Yes, Yeah, I guess football's cut on the back burner that right? That's what I'm saying. Robert Kraft isn't asking Bill Bella check, Teo, you know, do stuff that has anything to do with setting up the offense and the defense for week one. It's just I'm not saying, you know, maybe Ron Rivera wants this responsibility. I mean, everybody around football raves about what kind of guy he is and what he'll bring culture wise to the organization. But I'm with you. I don't think it's on him to figure out how to Ah, you know how to solve all these problems? Well said, And as for making a better or safer, you know, workplace for female female employees. I don't know Is he part of human resource is going to get that together. Also, I don't know if you had time to put together a handbook that's going, Teo, you know, go to human resources that tell you the what you can't do in what you can do. I I don't quite understand is even which is incredible. You know, I'm telling you, man, and obviously look, there's bigger issues with the Redskins and you know it's kind of tongue in cheek, but I'm saying nobody no other head coach. It's hard enough to coach in this league. There's only 32 teams 32 head coaches, and they got enough on their plate without trying to come up with a new nickname without tryingto change, a toxic, you know, in in organization culture. It's just wild to me that all of this is being kind of thrown on his plate. I don't know if this if he knew what he was signing up for when he took the job, I'm not saying he wouldn't have taken it. But it's just kind of wild. All this stuff that's coming his way. Oh, he would have taken the job. That's what I mean. Yeah, soon is when he's done with his marketing part of waiting for the Copa go. Hi, this is Ron. We're going to see if you'd like to buy season tickets this year. To the games. Does he have to come up with the seating policy to is? He figured out who's coming in the stadium and who's not a 25% he's got? He's got a lot going on. Ah, our one in the books. Cruise of the Log, Man That's just full on by. Look, You want to be part of the show? Real simple Errand underscore, Torres. I'm instinct. Ingenious one. We had baseball tonight. How many of you guys got pumped up about that? But we didn't have fans will touch on that. We've got some envy a bubble to get to also next, right here on Fox Sports. I just see the lotta money with Hyundai. What are you doing right now? Oh, sorry. I just sing when I'm happy and I'm so happy because I just saved like $40 on these Nikes without even doing anything nice, so you didn't have to search for coupons? I hate searching for coupons It takes forever. And if I do find one, it's usually not valid or not..

"This is on ly the beginning. I would hope that more would feel More emboldened to speak up, and if I'm Dan Snyder, the only Washington Redskins I would push for that. I would say if anybody out there has gone through this as a former employee or even a current employees. Please come forward. Do not worry about retribution. Do not worry about losing your job. If we're going to change this culture, we want to find out exactly who was doing what And if you felt violated if you felt harassed if you felt abused, do not feel awful about coming forward. Do not stay silent. It dance night wants to flip this around from a public relations standpoint to me, that is something that he has to do. It can't just be on Rod Rivera doing it or happening behind the scenes. You find a way to say if you're feeling that way, then we want to get to the bottom of this. That makes you that this ends right here. This went on, allegedly for 13 years onto his through the ship as being an owner of Washington. He should not want this to go on one minutes one minute longer, and that's going to be the case you should let people know they should feel emboldened that they were violated or sexually harassed than dance night has to leave that way to make sure they feel comfortable. To be open and say something is something had gone on. And I hope this report, is it But we know better and how much of that should scare us. If there is more out there past the report we got from the Washington Post and the the National Football League because we always know they're about image and not having That kind of shiner towards the image. Jason Ri from the end of feet. It was on SportsCenter. And he said, Yeah, we got the Washington Post story but the NFL this is what you should do about it. I think that in that post me to there's no way the NFL can just allow this to stand, The Washington Post reports. I believe that the league will have to investigate the situation. And they let me be clear about this. I don't mind saying that Daniel Snyder tell Tin instant. I'm not saying anyway supported these things happening, But these things happened on his watch. So if I'm the NFL on another NFL owners, this is a problem and it must be dealt with and it must be looking to buy the NFL. But will they Now they did release then really released a statement. If anything, the NFL basically stayed out of it. They were contacted by so many different people in the NFL had nothing to say they want to make sure that they get as much information requires much information as possible before they put out a statement. But here's something else I thought about with this whole thing. I wonder who else is going to dine out somebody and I'm talking about an accused, accusing another accused. Because usually if one goes down, they want to bring somebody with him. Well, Yeah, I was doing it. But so was that person. Yeah, I was completely wrong. I should have known better. I want to apologize to anybody that was offended by my behavior. But I was not the only one doing it. I wonder how much of that turning on each other could be possible. If the investigation goes the way I believe is supposed to go. And should be an independent person or independent people doing that, Whether you're washing you hire them or an NFL you're going to hire them has got to be somebody without 100% buys. That's not paid by the National Football League directly or by Washington directly. But usually in situations like this. I've seen it time and time again yet. Well, I did, but he started it. We always completes it, but he was the one I wonder how much of that could potentially go on. The more and more information that I believe we're going to find out going beyond the report that happened today in The Washington Post about not one, not two. But 15 different women who worked for Washington as a football organization, alleged sexual harassment and verbal abuse by former scouts and members of Daniel Snyder's inner circle. The owner, the Washington Redskins. Stay tuned Mark my words..

"Money It's only like a couple that have been there long Snyder. He commands zero respect, and by the way he commands zero respect for reasons that are not the same as the rest of us in large part cabal, zero respect for him think about this. He has what is considered on the books to be one of the most valuable franchises in terms of like yield per dollar in the NFL. Jerry Jones, will probably let him go jerry. Jones would sell for meat. If thought, it would get him a dollar, and he's going to let Dan Snyder out of the club happily. That is astonishing because he's done exactly on the books. What you're supposed to do in the NFL, he's maximize the Prophet he's managed to get a lot of money without actually putting out a quality product. That's the dream for an NFL owner to coast. I mean remember like college athletics as a perverse contradiction here, which is that in the pros the idea if you're an owner is to put out as bad a product with as higher profit margin as possible while still keeping people on the hook. And the redskins manages bypass that whole keep people on the hook thing and somehow managed to make more money and college sports. There's really you have to be good like that's. That's the thing. The only thing that matters actually is going to be your output because you can't be too profitable if you're too profitable. If you're too about the dollar, then it's GonNa become noticeable and people are gonNA catch onto the scam. You don't want the scam to be too obvious. Yeah, that's a great point that nobody gets paid dividends off a college football, right? It is this irrational system where people give up all this money just because they. Feel like they results, they want results and the pay that you're getting even in what I would call enhanced benefits packages for recruits at certain levels. The pay is so miniscule that you're the level to compete the bar you have to clear is so low for college basketball if you consider. The rumor is I think the number of Duke for Zion Williamson was what two hundred thousand dollars in this suit. There's alleging that he was paid two hundred thousand dollars. It's nothing that's all. That's all and that's an A. A sport where you have very few people on the bench football where you've got you know at least a three deep deep deep, depending on how you count it on scholarship that price per head goes down in terms of your level to compete point being in college, you actually have to be good in order to keep the pipeline going or everyone goes. The incentive is actually purely tied to wins and losses or the perception of how successful you are, and that last part was by the way for like schools. Schools like Vandy where somebody's winning six or seven against the year. Oh my God. What Miracles David cut cliff at Duke is you know is clear on the eight wind mark then? Yes, we're building statues to him. There will be a statue by the way of current. They still can't get ten thousand people to come to that stadium, which is really not their fault is what happens when your school doesn't have a local alumni base right, but they still get any I'm amazed. They get anybody to go there I. I absolutely amazed because. I just can't imagine like. Yeah, let's go to the stadium for a game. Why do you want to do that? Why would you watch football? I don't know maybe because it has like anti aging properties. If you've seen what happened to David cut clip there was he did. He posted a video about proper mask usage, and how you needed to wash your hands. It'd be careful with covid. Nineteen David cut cliff when he coached at Tennessee. I thought he was going to die. Yes, he. Yeah he you know he had. He had like a an incident with his heart condition. He was coaching Eric Age at one point. Yeah, and I remember that Eric almost killed him like they showed a clip of him in the booth and he had the action look of somebody who did not get enough blood to parts of his body that needed. Yes, thanks to stress and his heart about to give out. Then he posted a video where like I know, he's got new job. He's look. He's got a beard. He's looking slick. How stunned! I could not believe that ain't Is We all like him? I can't find the person who doesn't like him our. Buddy Steve White likes. Don't like nobody. Yeah, nobody would hits it. No and speaking of people who need to wear headsets. You want that Mandera. headset because peyton manning swears by it, so peyton manning says the do knows what he's talking about. He's on. Yes i. have still just waiting. When this Washington thing draw. If I mean, it seems pretty clear to me. That is going to and I've talked to enough people to know. This exists like this is not. This is not something. People are making up. It exists. We just don't know what it is and we'll boy. What's it like to be Rivera right now? I think he's good man. Good while he sorta good right? Ship that everybody's jumping off, but if a new owner comes then new owner is not necessarily onboard with Ron Rivera program well. He's also every coach in the NFL. What's your expectation college? You go man. I got to four years two to four years to go ahead and prove what I got for amount, and then we interface to successful, and if not I go coordinator Gig Okay Ron Rivera. Rodriguez Split mid-fifties yeah, yeah, okay, so rod. Rivera's thinking. What think like you think you go outta probably another five ten years in this profession that I could go sit on a boat. Now a situation where he's going to get a new owner well, does that new owner want to go ahead and just overturn the Apple Cart? No rods, nice rods players love him. Rod is a good dude. Rod has a reputation for being the good dude. You have this pile of burning trash. It was one thing that's not on fire Ron Rivera if I'm the new owner. What's the first thing? I grab Ron Rivera. Everything else I let it sale down the river. Rubber like it is his every relief they got. They got me thinking. Rod Rivera got a sketch pad. He's working all coming up a new voice. Because by the way I think they need to change the name. Obviously you know anything about me. You notice I feel but I also think they need to change it at twenty twenty one. There's no need to do this right now. They are talking about doing. Doing a massive entire rebrand in basically three months, which is the process that typically takes eighteen to twenty four months Gordon. Gar Trail Jerseys that are due to be out there with like whose whose job was to be to try to come up with a new, because clearly, Snyder hadn't thought about this his arrogance and put them in a place that he was not prepared for the inevitability of.

"Red River technology decisions aren't black and white. Being read, and here's Dave Johnson. No, it won't people last time. Redskin Tech coach Rod Rivera is asked the question. I mean the big one Monday on Chicago's 6 70 the scores, McNeil and parking show. Do you think your football team's name should change? I think that's a discussion for another time and again. I feel that guy that's my age. My era. You know, that was always part of ah of the name of the Washington Redskins. But Rivera also stressed the importance of listing the players. On off field issues, and that includes Dwayne Haskins, who Rivera also wants to see on the field. And that's why he did not go after signing Cam Newton would have been very hard to bring a guy in who has the solid career who the league MVP at one time and expect the young guy together chances to grow, so I just felt that you know, because of our circumstances, we could we could play the slow and that means Dwayne Haskins gets his chance. Ah, virtual summer camp for N BA to K Wizards district Gaming is about the whole one. Andrew McNair. "The fan face. They are if you just put out number two. Everybody knows that burrow into the people that that other teams as well as chase young who happens to be from Washington D. C. Just like Haskins. So I think this is due diligence. Talk to those guys. Not so much to frighten or even motivate Dwayne Haskins but also to let other teams know what you've got. The bengals can only take one person at number one so one of those guys or or one of those three people is GonNa be available and they are people that other teams one. So why not if you need some cornerback? Help if you need some tight in help if you need some defensive line help why not see if you can't multiply that that to pick into multi? Okay but let us just rank the three that you just mentioned right now and the three point. Haskins in there as well CAC borough tongue about lola chase. Young call himself the best player in the draft and Zwane Haskins. How're you ranking those four players right now Kevin Blackstone right now for this team's needs I would take chase because what they need? They need an edge rusher after that it would be too after that it would be borough in terms of the people borough of people you get to pick but right now if. I'm them I listen to also would Ron Rivera. Said after that statement about those two guys he talked up. Haskins and what he sees again. We're going to have to see the rest of that for your book and your facetime on on this number. Pick what he paid us here. Never heard. I've never Kevin Beasley so excited about his football team since two quarterbacks in the draft to what you start with our position drafting a quarterback in the first round last year this year. That rarely rarely happens. I think what they're doing here in Rod Rivera. I think is the guy in charge of what they're doing is saying we are going to make it difficult for other teams to actually know exactly what we're going to do that. We have to. We might say we're open for that spot and you've got if you want to or you really will burrow and he's not going to number one overall you gotta come to us. They have not been in that position. Kevin in a long long time where they actually could control the draft early with. We all know they can pull the draft. The question Ramon if you could answer it directly as they have Dwayne Haskins should they be looking for another quarterback? Go ahead let. The cardinals did that last year. And I think most people would agree that they did the right thing they got Kyle Murray. They moved on from. Josh Rosen and I think they made the right choice with that Ron Rivera. The new coach. He's got to look at dwayne. Hassans is really the guy that I want to move forward. Because he's not the it's not the guy that he drafted is not the guy he developed. So I think it's a IT'S A. They have that to decide in front of them right now but why not play the leverage game? If you're in that spot at number two most people thought that discussion started number three Detroit Sola. There is one person in that organization that I trust. It's not the owner. It's the new head coach. He knows he knows good. Quarterbacks he went to a super bowl with Cam Newton. He if he's worth his salt what he's already done is watched. Every single play that Twain Haskins had less season I'll guarantees going into this with an open mind and they're in a great position and to question too is stay healthy. I would not be shocked if they do this. It's a clean slate. Ron Rivera Listening Mona. You brought it up. Last franchise to draft a quarterback in the first round and back to backdraughts was just last year. The cardinals did it with Tyler. Murray and it only happened once before that with the the colts who are Baltimore at that time sleater and elway back to back years in and of course elway didn't even play for them. We're GONNA move on now talk some. Nba Celtics one. Fourteen jazz. One zero three two teams going in complete opposite directions at the moment and Jason Tatum. What's changed with his game? It's like he's found a mama switch in the last at the same time the jazz. It's the notes that aren't there. Four straight losses winstar putting Mike Conley on the bench in the morning shootaround reporting that he changed his mind. Modane showing was benched and Roy. So neal started first Boston. Ramona is here to stay. And what's the team ceiling within playing like this like Jason? Tatum has been a different player since he was got that. Validation of being named an all star. He's got six thirty point games in February before that he had six thirty four games in his entire career. Like this guy is on some kind of run right now and I think I think he just believes he's the guy now. I think that all star selection was very validating for him for go solo. At one thing to the equation. That Kemba missed the last couple of games and tatum boost in everything. He's doing. So how sustainable. Is this tatum with his team. Oh I think it will be because I can't walker is that is a good teammate. And remember this to Jason. Tatum has been in a conference. Final in game seven. He played very well against the Cleveland. Cavaliers but go back a few years ago when they made that pick Danny ainge treated out of the top spot traded down to get Jason Tatum and got number one. Pick that got a first round. Pick out of it from Philadelphia Jason Tatum. Jason Tatum carries himself like a superstar. Devin black half. I'm glad you said superstar because maybe the hall of fame coach Brad. Stevens is learning now. How to use a superstar layer jason thing and letting him play. His game didn't handle it so well with Kyrie Irving we know. Kyrie's a different kind of guy but all of a sudden this Jason's team and he's taken control. Woody page well situation as maturity and confidence. He is more confidence in his shot. I think he's reaching his birthday next week. He'll be twenty two on March six and I think being picked to the All Star game playing there. That really made a difference but he's taking better angles to the basket. And I believe he went from being a Jag just another guy in the NBA. To being dug out I.

And I'm pretty sure this was only on CBS S N. I did not see it on the actual big CBS post game show. But Evan Washburn often looks more shaken than the losing coach like he he start. I think it was. Rod Rivera couple of Super Bowls gonna guess a coach, Bobby. I don't know. What did I don't know? What to say by God? You know, you must and Ron Rivera actually looked fine. And I was like on Rivera's. Okay. Somebody go. Find somebody go get some help for Evan Washburn. But I just want to know that he he sort of corrected this time and Sean McVay legitimately look sadder than Washburn. That was that was kind of a big moment in in Super Bowls for me. Quote of the game. Or of the post game goes to Rams tackle Andrew Whitworth told our very own Robert Mays at the end of the day. We're all gonna die. Which feels like the existential sequel to the all-time quarter quote from Duane Thomas running back the Cowboys who said if the Super Bowls the ultimate game. How come they're playing it again next year, which is really fantastic. They are book ends if you want to get past ex's nodes, go talk to Wayne Thomas or Andrew Whitworth. That was awesome. Like, we're this had a great role ever since he signed with the with the Rams has taken on this weird like spiritual animal role for the for the entire press corps. I don't know if it was of like the sad shape of the teams that he played for before signing there. But you know, it it there is something very interesting about, you know, some players will sign with a team like the Rams and be seen is like front runners or ring chasers. And he's just sort of like this, you know, workaday guy who's just like trying to find success in a win a world where he's never been able to sniff. Just that this guy is just been the most incredible, quote, the entire time or this just sort of like dark philosopher their edits entire career. That was a real a real incredible moment in one of those great moments where multiple people like everybody in the scrum tweeted at quote the exact same time. You know, everybody's everybody wants to get that out there in the world. Yeah. And maize tweeted, the context makes a lot more sense. But it just sounded like the ultimate dire losers locker room, quote, by the way, I think it's part of the part of the part of the power of it is how Andrew Whitworth looks. Because he looks kind of like, you know, John Fetterman who's the Lieutenant governor, Pennsylvania mayor. So like when existential truths are coming out of the mouth of a guy that just looks like that, it's a little bit more of a little bit gives it a little more who've I wanna close David by talking about the Washington Post commercial. I didn't finish the. Game. Of course shoulder injury. A two hundred twenty eight yards accounts for three touchdowns and looked like he was pretty comfortable out there for the most part. He was very comfortable in this one things about collar really do appreciate that. He never let this moment. Get bigger than it would really really was. I thought he handled it extremely well. And I think he's the type of guy that you appreciate coach. I don't want you to tip your habits. You look at a number of guys who got an opportunity to go ahead and and play from what you see from your guys had opportunity going to play today. Did you like see I did I was really pleased with the number of those guys. I mean, you sit around you watch those young receivers go out and make things happen to do things that they're capable that was fun to watch. You know, you've got Cameron Artis Payne got an opportunity and he shine does that he's capable of. Ian Thomas continues to show. Then you look on the defensive side, and you see Marquis Haynes getting to run around and and do some things as well. That was fun. And you get to watch the line. Young linebackers JC has opportunity. Andrea had this chance. David mayo went around and and Mesa place. I mean, these are guys that we've got to know more and more about, and that's the important thing is it's those young guys got a chance to play, you know, or, Sean. Not thought was was was solid as was Cornell there. So a lot of those young guys produced and performed coaches Smick. How'd you handle Ryan Kalil post? Did you say anything to about kept short? I really did. Because I'll be honest. You know, it's one of those things that could really hit you could affect you. Because you know, he's he's he's he's the right type of people. Did you -ticipant who's gonna play the entire game going in coach? No, I didn't. I really didn't. But I don't think he wanted to come out. I think he wanted to save every moment. And that's that's kind of what we did. Okay, costa? We've got Alagoas down. Gilbert hit who was the backup quarterback. Who was that? Where are you going to put them out? We were thinking about direct snaps that. I'm not sure who is going to be there. Well, we may have done with just taking the direct snap way to taken the just keep the clock running. Absolutely. We'll nice way to finish things out in. What was a disappointing stretch their coach? But appreciate your time as always thanks so much. So panthers. "You're you. You're eliminated this week of Minnesota Windsor. Are you lose your out? Right. And all likelihood you're going to lose the game. Now Tyler heineke at quarterback. If you have Cam Newton, you're all likely you're going to lose the football game. But house Ron Rivera h shows you Rivera did not want to shut him down. Rivera's thinking about his job and him as head coach down in Carolina. And it was the owner and the GM. Rightfully show thinking about where they are at what they need to do for their organization Heller. They they need to take long term. What are they doing? Makes you wonder. I just didn't understand it from a Carolina perspective two days ago from rod Rivera. But I think I I think you have the understanding now on this Thursday morning is that Carolina and Rivera was thinking about his future. And the Carolina Panthers were thinking as an organization about their future. When I mean by their future is making sure that their franchise quarterback is trying to get that shoulder back to healthy as quickly as possible and get them set re get himself ready for the two thousand nine hundred campaign something that we said yesterday. But you get the point when you are an NFL owner. What's the one thing you want when you look at your team? Now, it's not a big left tackle were running back or wide receiver wanna make sure you have a franchise quarterback in and I guess Cam Newton's got some limitations at the quarterback spot. "Coast-to-coast pillar-to-post. It's tests in the moose on CBS sports radio. Out still a glimmer. So we'll see you again, we'll we'll continue to focus in on playing football. The town. All intense purpose we played on. Yeah. I get that. And that is Carolina head coach Ron Rivera as he addressed the media. And after we all witnessed it Monday night is that Cam Newton Cam throw the football. So rod Rivera's we discussed yesterday whether or not to shut Cam Newton down for the rest of the regular season against the Carolina Panthers. Still have a slim playoff chance in the NFC. They do. Now, they've got to do something that they have not done in the better part of a month and a half. And that's what in a football game because they've lost six straight games and Cam Newton's throwing mechanics have progressively gotten worse. So I don't understand the mindset here. When you look at the player now, noon did have shoulder surgery. What two thousand seventeen were sitting here were approaching two thousand nineteen where a couple of weeks away to a new year. The Carolina Panthers are not making the playoffs. I would tell you from what I've witnessed watching Carolina football. I think the Atlanta Falcons are going to beat them and eliminate them this weekend. But put that aside don't you at some point in time for the betterment of your organization, and I know Ron Rivera head coach, and I get that he is facing get uncertain future down in Carolina as well. And if he's going to go down he wants to go down what is perceived to be his best at Newton as the most talented player a quarterback out his roster. When healthy he is not healthy. And when you have a quarterback that can't throw the football down the field in two thousand eighteen and the National Football League. How how on God's green earth the possibly continue to roll them out there? That doesn't make any sense last six game Cam Newton's got nine touchdowns and nine interceptions. He can't hit the broad side of the barn. If his life depended on at this stage. We saw it on Monday night. And that is dot. That's just the latest example of it. If you've watched him Eddie watch Cam Newton throw the football. You say something is not right with that shoulder. A clearly if not now doctors probably have said he can't do anymore damage to it cab is even come out and said well out, oh, exactly. What's going on with the shoulder? Leuke clearly as we played a cut yesterday the talented linebacker and pro bowler all pro for Carolina saying, I know Cavs got a lot of hard. I know he's got a lot of tough days. I don't know exactly. What's going on with cabinet? And I do know this what you're witnessing on the field as we joked around and talked about earlier on the regular season. Cam newton. You could make an argument because of the style and fashion which he plays the game the success that he's had what he was able to do it all burn how it translates to the NFL throw the. Personality the smile. The drama out of it. You look at them as a player when healthy. He is a generational talent. He is. Love hate them. It doesn't matter you need to respect what he can provide a football team running throwing at his size with his speed. He's a remarkable talent. It is painful to watch him throw the football now. And I know the backup quarterback is gonna go beat the Atlanta Falcons this weekend. I get it. And Ron Rivera wakes up on this Wednesday morning saying. You know, a sixty five percent Cam Newton a seventy percent Cam Newton is still better than our backup quarterback. You want to tell me is nursing an ankle injury. You wanna tell me he's nursing the injury dealer with a Balki back. Those are different injuries that what he's dealing with right now. He assured hopping throws two receivers who are ten yards away from him throws. And even he is not even though he's not the most accurate quarterback at he's with great. Accuracy this year. He usually puts right on the hands right on the numbers. He is now hurting your Tibor than helping your team. The hell with presence the hell with leadership the hell with all of that. The Carolina Panthers. Need to think about even though Ron Rivera is probably going to be out after this season. And they're going to be looking for a change at the head coaching spot. And maybe Rivera's thinking about his own mortality as head coach in Carolina. When making this decision. The Carolina Panthers. Someone needs to step in and say, we've got to think about the long term success of our franchise. And we have to make sure that Cam Newton is ready set healthy, and that shoulder is healthy come the start of two thousand eighteen and if you don't exactly know everything that's going on with that shoulder. You've got to figure it out. And this is going to be a long term problem. Then that's a best of issue for Carolina. What if it's something that can be fixed surgery rehab rehab, rest, whatever I'm not going to tell him. We're gonna play doctor here on this Wednesday morning. Whatever you need to do to get that shoulder back to one hundred percent healthy eating to do it. And you need to do it sooner rather than later. And it's just so shortsighted when you think about the franchise. It's so sighted the Carolina Panthers. They're not going to the Super Bowl this year. Ron Rivera might be able to save his job. But they make the postseason. They've lost six straight games. They haven't won in a month and a half. They were a one point at time of team that you would probably right on the dotted line saying, the they're gonna make the postseason of the NFC. And then you saw this complete regression defensively Rivera, Colin plays all the shoulder of Newt get worse. The only beneficiary has been has been Christian McCaffrey who we know as a dual threat running back. Spot running a catching the ball coming out of the backfield. And even now throwing it on Monday night for a touchdown has been on real aside from tell me out somebody else DJ more. Curtis samuel. How they were begging Greg Olsen to get back on the field before he went down to get another injury. It is a problem. That for the better part of the first half after Christian McCaffrey fifty yard touchdown throw. Probably until the third minute. Mark three minute. Mark of the second quarter that he was leading the team in passing. That's a problem. When you are home. What do you have a quarterback that is as good as noon, and you're taking on a Saint secondary that struggled? But that was what was transpired. So even though they do have a small glimmer of hope of making it to the postseason Carolina.

"The last game on sunday and that was a rematch of a rematch the saints hosting the panthers inside the super tome and these two teams so familiar with one another that's the the challenge of playing you division opponent in the post season a they're not intimidated by your atmosphere they go there at least once a year right so that the panthers don't care about the superdome and how loud it is they're used to it they've been there before they know what to expect but also no love lost the personnel so familiar with one another hard to come up with the wrinkles and so to have these two teams on the field and to know how difficult it is to beat an opponent three times in one year to be able to outgun alcoa and i mean all those things yearly here you're trying to be more cunning and you're trying to come up with different ways to beat them in the case of the panthers defense though they had to pick one they had to pick either stopping drew brees or stuffing the run and it became pretty obvious right away what they were doing they were taking away morgan graham they were taking away alvin era and they get it well credit that panthers front seven that defense is always tough in physical they've been good for so long one of the most consistent units in the nfl over the course of what the last six seven years it feels like uh they chose the stuff the run and they did it well this season because so much of the focus has been on chimera an ingram and chimera i mean i've heard from a lot of people who actually have votes for the rookie of the year who say that they have cast their vote for him kamerhe ingram each went for fifteen hundred yards from the line of scrimmage this year no other running backs in history have ever done that in the same season for the same team and so with easy to forget what drew brees is capable of it's easy to to think i mean he's he's the third option maybe with the fourth option by the defense now well the safety bent has played roy not really actually rod rivera thank you for wigan but the thing is with drew brees when you take away the rhine your obviously going to.

"No vote with us on the show is ron rivera back on the hot seat and why is he was on hutsi yet and what a lot of people don't realize how close mike hugh law often coordinator can door cd quarterback coach game due at losing their job the offseason and grind went to bat for them and that nope we can make this offense work with them and so he put his neck on the line so if that often reforms like it last year rod is directly in the crosshairs youth these if you'd loyal sometimes to a fault obviously loyalty though can can also get a lotta fi in with this players and coaches so there's a lot of pressure on the off van which then translate to a lot of pressure on rod rivera for that often perform it for those coach group while i love the first toothpicks chris mckay jeffrey and then curtis samuel who the biggest argument with a high states fans is why didn't you get the ball more why can't you use him in space where you have all these athletes you couldn't do that all right what this what does make sure what does he planned to do with christian mccaffrey and then kurdistan m e we don't really know yet because mccaffrey was only year was the bed or or one crack use as part of this and aa rule that people get upset about with rain where guy them a quarter system mike stamp earn allowed to practice until exams are over so you only eur one practice it's a we haven't seen much of that so i think once we'll start seeing more those wrinkles one one draw with pennekamp comes along and daniel dealt with the wall hampering if you during otas than in any camp so we didn't really see much of having either but uh yeah we hold your eyes and imaginative it sounds like a pit beat fine and just confusing defense is because you you'll get those two all right those are two option than full cam while they're saying they don't wanna run all that much anymore he obviously you'll have the ability to feed a runner path than jonathan stewart still have tried lapped on on his ears than any calvin benjamin devon watches greg olsen so.
