"If you do, let us know how you do. Because my works are good enough. I've told the story about how my roommate bought the weird, it's a glass bulb and you could vape alcohol out of it. That sounds so bad for you. I did it. I did it. I took a hit of vodka. I don't know what that is at the parlance. It's fucking sucked. Yeah. What color sensation was that? It burned. It felt bad. I felt a little woozy for a second there. Of just like, oh, alcohol, but then it was gone on immediately. It's like, who would do this? Who wants this? Seems like a waste. Yes, also probably an extreme waste. Because then you don't want to use cheap stuff. You'd want to use top shelf stuff because who knows what sediment is laying in that bad vodka. But that does the sediment. Heat up to a point where you are ingesting it, or are you turning low quality vodka into high quality volume by distilling it? I'm just thinking of my CPAP machine and how I'm freaked out constantly washing it out and I have to use distilled water. I don't know, maybe I should throw some alcohol into my CPAP. Get a nice sleep. Sleep. Just put lean in there. Oh yeah. Just be proof. Yeah, just chop and screw your knight. With the fucking codeine, see the CNC pap stands for Cody, not a lot of people know that. Okay, we're going to go now. We will leave you with that bit of information, could put that picture in your head and everybody have fantastic week, arcade pit, finals, or tomorrow. Come check that out. A roast chicken vape. Okay. Oh, good. I gave it a shot. All right. Vaping seems bad. I don't know. Yeah, it is. In conclusion, vaping seems bad. I'll be back next week with another edition. Of the giant bombcast. Yes. We've been on the billboard charts. I did some MMA. I'm two and O sure Doug me, baby. I am undefeated. Just like Rocky Marciano, I'm a professional race car driver. I've been in movies. I'm not really sure. Or maybe he's just the stick he has he does get old. Don't get me wrong. I mean sometimes you look at something go. God couldn't come up with anything else but that so yeah it it does but I feel fortunate that we've had a lot in talion cinema in united states. That really helps. I felt display more of the range of our characters and even the ranger of culture. You know we had. We had the famous o. Rocky marciano as the boxer and then we had the famous. Meanwhile today Two great guests very different In terms of the significant age gap. Here but i suspect They would rather like each other I guess dick gould. Who was the men's coach at stanford for almost forty years stanford one seventeen. Ncaa titles under coach gould fifty those players were all americans. He of course coached a Curly haired kid from long island. John mcenroe we talk a bit about that. A bit about the state of college. Tennis tickled sort of the john. Wooden figure who didn't just win a lot but it also is a paragon of virtue and the next person to say something ill of him will be the first. I would submit a glaring omission. He's not in the international tennis hall of fame. But this is a good conversation. We talk a lot talking about mcenroe. Talk about International players in college tennis talk a bit about head injuries as he is the vice chairman of a nonprofit Teach aids which creates health. Ed technology and is paying special attention. Head injuries Good conversation so here's the golden. And after him. We talked to brandon nakashima. Who took intro in between segments. So here's coach. Gould how are you do it. How you feel like everyone. I question we all ask. Is that have you your twenty twenty those. She's been good so far and You guys guys have been affected a little bit kobe. But so far would survive it and It just the families good The main thing for me of course in the so all those good but it's really effective. I working night stops stanford. Three years ago. I've been working on concussion case for nonprofit and and for video so pc and youth football and below the installaion stuff and it just a fulltime job. He can't go in the office. Fortunately everything we do is zoom so if one presumes john we complain about but where we eight million with you Know your it's allowed us economy to To keep functioning and some lab. I want to ask you about that especially well. We could jump too far ahead. But i don't know if you saw the decent. La times yesterday about the the stanford volleyball player. And yeah i did. I did see that actually. My granddaughter was director operations volleyball for eight years. During that time there's two sides to every story you know but it was a concussions are not uncommon vibe. I you know you go up to the spike in the bog. In your hands or you hitting the head and it's our first soapy. See was artistic swimming synchronized swimming. Believe it or not Gushes in that and everyone thinks football. But it's it's it's just amazing and very on another sports we'll talk about I can only think of one. I can only think of one instance off hand in tennis but roller to. I could remember we had a cup. We're we're doing a story law where people talk about the story on the got them. Whatever most of them are athletes about half icicle have college and we have a couple of ten stories in their kids. Get hit with a wall. In ben people are more settled some than others and it just I james wake of course one. But then there's a lot of slipped and fell much display lawyers for the usda all. I didn't think well. I've ever azarenka once. I guess you're right yeah exactly. There was an eight figure settlement mining. Something exactly i wanted to I said blah blah. I wanna talk college. But i also i'm just curious i wanna hear more about you. I mean i. I feel like everyone knows everyone knows dick. Gould stanford coach for more than forty years. It occurs to me. Maybe gula man. That's what you may come on side. You are often described But this is. This is someone who grew up in my hometown. It's near and dear to you. You're the john wooden college tennis. And some of that is about longevity and titles and wins and losses and some of this is about the lessons you imparted ana players. Who i'm sure you know. Speak glowingly of you. But i'm just curious. I don't know anything. i was telling somebody recently. I were you a player. How did you get into this crazy sport. I really don't know much about you. Pre stanford how did you actually come to us. We'll flamboyant and my folks didn't play it all from california. My dad's a form. And and i had a horse to ride all the time and a young kid and and my mom said well you're gonna take tennis wheels. The white freaking shorts downtown instead of my jeans and lee is what are you talking about. So do you wanna ride horses somewhere. Yeah what are you gonna take a less. And you may remember a gal on nancy. Chafee kind of eric mayor of She was maybe top ten in the world and her dad was my was the guy. Give me the lesson. you need everything. I did equate with those four. it was You step into the ball like rocky marciano steps of the bunch. You watched the ball. Come off the record lake road. Kind of what's coming on the pitches everything all of a sudden. It wasn't says he's it was a big thing and he made hitting a ballroom exciting. And i always worked in the summers but impl- sherman's but i i went to stanford and played on a team there and Got pretty good bye last year and Those days olmert sparse. I was but i. I got fairly good but there was no circuit And so you go out and play shamateuritism Do anything and nothing to show for it. And i had a job teaching offer. And i took that job in high school. And and and that was my vocation coaching in the absolutely love. It and it's been you appreciate my guys. I'm doing a book. Not a stanford. "There's going to be continue relationship with the next few years. With eddie hearn. So it's not like they're getting out of the boxing business. What is known now. How big hit is the loss of canelo. Disowns business model. I would say. It's pretty big. Chris in the sense as you mentioned. He's the biggest star in boxing subscription. Driver anytime you can be affiliated with a fighter who has accomplished what he's accomplished in his transcendent talent. The way that he is. It hurts when when you walk away from a financial perspective. I think they're relieved that they're no longer on the hook for this thirty five million dollars per fight which turned out that they're not going to have to pay him at forty four. The opponent mean a big nut with the was a forty million dollar package for fright. That's a lot of money in it. It never made sense to me. chris. And i'm not trying to say that i was the whole time but people who kept stressing that this three hundred sixty five million three hundred sixty five listen. They're never going to get to the point where he gets paid. Three hundred sixty five million for a variety of reason first and foremost is bound to loose somewhere. Along the way you're not gonna continue paying as great as he is someone is going to beat him. Convincingly at some point happens virtually every fighter except floyd mayweather rocky marciano but But it's going to happen and you're not gonna continue paying someone thirty five million dollars per fight. If argument's sake he gets knocked down at some point so that part of it just always kind of rubbed me the wrong way that people continued to write and say that this was a three hundred sixty. It's just wasn't seemed like a lot of a smoke and mirrors basically but from a financial perspective. This is actually good for zone. Because they've done some you know some managing of their budget. That will be helpful for them. But the one question i would have about you know now. The canola was no longer associated with zone. What are they doing with kinetic love. They've committed hundred plus million dollars to adding glove For the sole purpose that scene for him to eventually fight canelo alvarez third time now canal. Our is not fight on zone. What are you doing with fighter going on thirty nine years old with a seemingly committed an enormous amount of money to for a mandatory defensive as ibs title against the fighter. No offense no one cares about. What are they doing with him. Moving who is he. He beats meals eremita which he should. Even you know thirty eight thirty nine coming off a long layoff. He should do that. What are they doing with him there. After he's made it crystal clear he doesn't wanna fight me his android certainly. Don't wanna fight him before he fought canal with third time so there were other options available for them. But who was he fighting. And why would you continue paying in the kind of money that they're committed to paying him when you're not gonna get much return on your investment in terms of subscriptions overall viewership. Now i i agree and while nello was looking to get out of his contract unless there is a breach. I don't think galop skains gonna look to get out of that contract because goffin's making really good money out of that contract. So it's a conundrum with what they do. I mean as a boxing fan there are fights that zone can make and match can make in golden boy can make that would be appealing for economic for example..

"How insensitive he is Well, and the second one is not just a sports you mentioned, but many sports and even some cultures have been very Adamant about separating men from women at certain points. Rocky Marciano, world heavyweight champion was not allowed to concert with any woman is like nothing. I don't think they got any letters or anything. Months of the last month before big lot of boxers did that Chuck, I mean champions were known for the last week or two weeks. It was how I remembered Remember Hagler talking about Remember Sugar Ray Leonard talking about this in the eighties, There was a look now. It is me and it is my trainers and I'll see you when this thing's over. Yeah, you know, I'll get an example. Chuck. Did you see what happened to Seattle Seahawks this year? So they've got this undrafted free agent invade. The Seahawks had their bubble and they have some rules. They're one of which is no women in the bubble. And so what happened was to see if that the guy Tried to smuggle his girlfriend in and he put her in. Some sort of football gear and tried to you know, if anyone sees you, maybe they'll think you're a player, but nobody fell for that in a corner and Pete Carroll cut the guy. I said no distractions. You tried to smuggle. Oren, you're gone now. Just Carol gonna be fired because he wouldn't let this guy have his girlfriend in the bubble. No, it's just ocean. Definitely. And I don't know that that's right or wrong. Pete Carroll's excuse could be Look, It's a health thing. It's got nothing to do with it. But it's also a distraction thing. This is a thought process with people in sports doesn't mean it's right. But it is a thought process, and everybody knows that any idea that we're going to go Oh, my God. How could Mike Milbury have said that? Well, this has been said forever, and it To pretend that it doesn't make sense What he's saying. You're lying to yourself. If you're married, and if you have Children, and you have cousins, and you have friends, and all of them are with you. Well, do you think you're going to be as laser focused as you would be if they're not there? Of course you're not. Natural Millbury is talking about. And now Milbury's in deep trouble. Thanks to call Chuck Ah, 617 to 66 68 68 lighting do we get? Can we take more calls on them? And then do you want to 50 or you're gonna have a tough time as it's fun. All right. We're gonna have to do that power through it. You're gonna have to power through it at 2 50 the lightning less more of your calls in Millbrook. I just think there's a really fascinating story. It's maybe in the middle on our camp now. W RKO traffic from the my pillow dot com Traffic center. Several crashes being cleared out there. One in wall FAM won 28 north at route 20, another Lexington on 1 28 north route to crash being cleared in Attleboro, 95 north before 1 23 and one on the Cape on Route six. put himself into serious pain to make sure he has beaten the buffet the only supplemental insulin Sherman someone I'm here to win it's the economics of the all you can eat buffet of a looked at thirty all you can eat buffets across the country they keep mentioning that one of my all time favorites the golden corral I don't know if you live somewhere they have the golden corral but that's a good all you can eat buffet now it's the sort of thing that I bring up in some company and they they laughed but I love it my kids love it man you gotta you gotta check your stinkin strawberries in putting what what do you don't like it here got one might when Sam I went to Vegas we eight what's the number one buffet in Vegas wins all the awards MGM I think think it might be anyway it was it it's really expensive so I yeah when I go to Vegas that's normally the one that I make a point that has like eighty Bucks or something a person but it was on believable it was like the best of everything I've ever had in every category of Talion steak seafood Chinese while desert our very best of and it is the very best restaurants you've ever gone to all in one spot into the Fairlawn I've had a stake in Vegas so paying eighty Bucks for a meal is not that impressive yeah I know night day I thought it was well worth it but you know you take you you and your kids and stuff and I'm not sure Sam got eighty dollars worth of enjoying now I don't know or nor should you let you go and you don't win the ridiculous brown understands the importance of beating the buffet they go through a lot of how it's a thin margin for the restaurant's entrance center central in the skip all that I like I like waste reduction is a key focus of the restaurant because they're trying to win to it is it is but it's a battle between you and them I'm they are trying to win how do we make this profitable when you're gonna end up with a lot of waste you're gonna end up with a lot of throwing away food waste reduction is a huge part of the call some of the stuff trickle down specials buffets have always been a landing spot for food scraps trickle down specials day old vegetables beef trimmings things that can be repurposed into super hash on the buffet nice try to save themselves money the stuff they trim off of a steak is there for you in your beef stroganoff by nature the phase attract the very customer what do you call a cow **** in a field okay I don't want to know he already got the point listen to the podcast my name to a face to track the very customers that they wish to avoid big eaters with insatiable appetites of the phase seek to fill the customer's Belize cheaply in as quickly as quickly as possible that's where you're not going to fool me so they employ a number of research back tricks to get people to eat less food they put the cheap filling stop at the front of the buffet line that is an amateur's mistake Yano it took me all or nothing rolls and stuff you idiot rookie seventy five percent of buffet customers select whatever food is in the first tray seventy five percent some of the first tray sixty percent of all the food they consume comes from the first three traits I almost by reflex walking by the first three tracks well I don't know it took me awhile to figure this out once I have it's become you know practically religious for me you do a walk through first yeah check out every thing first they use smaller plates smaller plates reduce the amount of food consumed obviously more trips and if you're walking to the buffet if you stick to one plate high and right yes my lan in the hand one balanced on the four one of my head on my shoulders only seventies any show they use I didn't know this now all that I knew this I didn't know they use a larger than average serving spoons for things like potatoes the fill you up and smaller than average tongs for the meat like a snow shovel for your potatoes right tweezers for any sort of write a brief once they frequently refill water use extra large glasses boy now that you mention that I do remember the buffets they've always got the giant trash can a water there Fauria trying to fill you up I'm not fall for that again no I'm I mean dry no beverage even hi amber phase it says here like the ninety eight dollar brunch at the hotel del Coronado in San Diego which I've not eaten have you did not answer fabulous hotel eight dollar brunch they hide the truffles the fog line the oysters you literally can't find so they're listed in you know they're there but what are they I guess only another role while I'm looking for my wasters where else are trouble a million other stack of pancakes rollover of the truffles what happens when a customer of yours these tricks and devours a Godzilla sized portion of food is it possible to out eat the all you can eat buffet of course it's gonna be right where there's a will so they go through a scenario here let's imagine that Larry at two hundred and eighty pound offensive lineman decide to stop by a local all you can eat buffet after big game hello Larry Hillary pays just twenty dollars and proceeds to eat five servings of steak and chicken for more than the average customer that's a lot the cost of this food at the buffet amounts to about sixteen ninety that means that after factoring in other expenses Larry's handed the restaurant a loss of eight dollars and fifty cents Walkley leaders like Larry are a baked into the all you can eat buffets pricing model they know that there's only a certain number of people like that most people don't go in attempting to beat the buffet I call those people we could set the victims but you know if you got a family I'm going to I'm going to get my money's worth my wife will get halfway there my kids are gonna get a quarter of the way there your family described in a microcosm describes the business plan of all you can eat your loss for every over eater there's two average and one under either and they can they can exist on that there's usually a kid price at a buffet isn't there I haven't been to a buffet in a very long time because I'm not a hog wow you've really come down hard on us buffet goers and I know you used to enjoy the buffet in the past what you must be thinking of someone else well the super cheap buffet we used to go to that they close down for roaches was it fresh choice prefer something choice people's choice I think was for I can't remember but I did tell her who she is yes I thought those were all moments are moving there's all that ice cream well not putting K. one chicken what do they get there well that's very you walk which is amazing walking all the ambulatory is easing I chose to one months and think of next I chose to ignore some of the filter in the place because it was very good what like five Bucks we went super cheap I mean because we're poor and I think it's like five dollars all you can say yeah which is it's not hard to beat five dollars shot I did today they had really pretty damn decent bread pudding there Sean no I don't want any doctor for bread putting out too many of fresh choice I used to destroy their pastas and I I would I would camp out at third they're frozen yogurt machine and I would yeah I would easily taking eight hundred calories worth of of a bread pudding every time I was there never mind the other stuff I a person really shouldn't ever eaten all you can eat buffet right right past a certain financial situation in age I would say yeah once you're twenty five we just got it forget about it and if you can afford other options yeah what about your competitive spirit you can't win when you go to a sit down restaurant they always win right it's like going to a casino at least this one I have a chance sucker bet so on not like per serving you're never going to win with potatoes they got thirty cents in each serving a potatoes at the restaurant where is they got two dollars and twenty five cents in the serving a steak two one a quarter **** thirteen for both state won the Preakness once but Democrats state yeah exactly I go to wet markets we heard about in China this is a scam at all restaurants really that I we don't drink soft drinks in my family but they keep up their margins by selling the soft drinks separately they're making full you know making almost one hundred percent profit on a soft drinks it's it's way more net I mean because what are they charging yeah it's thousands seem hot but it's a fifteen hundred percent markup yeah there you go but I mean like everything you pay is they get to keep going and you just you can't win on soda they I think my sense in the entire thing now so that is a good that's pretty clever way to get in so if you avoid the drink well that's that's how like a lot of your fast food places are all kinds of special deals and then you get a diet coke that costs them nothing right I yeah I heard an economist once described McDonald as I'm an incredibly complicated scheme to sell you soda all I I wouldn't I thought about the math on that checks out yeah yeah I I haven't seen it recently but but that's about right I've really tried to get away from getting my money's worth as being the goal with meals because it's just especially when you get in a fast food buffets and stuff like that I'll take the challenge though the food's good one hundred you don't elect to get ripped off either you don't like to you feel taken so it's kind of a conflict but how am I getting ripped off I take it as a personal challenge I see a buffet with the price I'm like you don't think I could eat that much money of your food there does are you taking like they're looking at you think Indiana that idiot thing seeking out either yeah yeah I know that all you can eat dumb sorry was there more to it or not the all you can eat Chinese buffet we used to go to and what Wichita yeah that made the first choice look like you know that this casino you mentioned man was at cheap food but now that kept us from starving to death that was so cheap we used to have this hilarious bit we do about that but involved imitating the owners and and you know frankly I'd like to continue working for a little while longer yeah that's right the dollars profit but see the pull of the formula no I thought we were going to come out ahead this we can make our rent on now so we talk about the red apple buffet in shock Chicago that's very popular do you know about that I don't know it now I think the idea of a horrifies me at this point they're people that go to the red apple buffet in Chicago need for three or four hours straight I can't do that let's go to the bathroom and come back and eat again that's gross does that mean they threw up or you know just just knew what did some hours now like twelve hours you say in the digestive process it and crap it can come with me well whether or not the bathroom visit was because of this buffet or a an elaborate breakfast who knows the point is they're making more room and coming back for seconds earlier the runway and all in with this over the years buffets have made headlines for kicking out gas to eat too much a six six three nine fifty pound Wisconsin man was removed from a buffet after downing twelve fried fish fillets and then subsequently arrested for protesting outside the restaurants but it isn't twelve right visualize the plan I believe who's pushers quarrel could a German triathlete was asked to prematurely leave in eighteen ninety five buffet after consuming one hundred plates of sushi I'm surprised they kept records back that far price eighteen ninety five and a woman was booted from the golden corral for eating all the brownies than attempting to smuggle home extras in a purse well that's the crime you can't take stuff to go check outs that's that's a mentally detached person right I have seen this around the country they have updated the language on a lot of places to all you can eat within reason I've seen that on site I don't know what that means within whose reason I almost never eat within reason very few meals in my life right and within reason it's not reasonable how much I eat last night watching the Grammys we had a pizza sit in front of her so what you're talking about wasn't reason was reasonable about what I could eat I wouldn't meet a buffet that's funny I regularly eat well outside of reason that's like my go to anyway this is the best of Armstrong and Getty during our podcast one more thing more info at Armstrong getting The unsinkable Tyson Fury took America for a night. Can he keep it?
"Tyson. Very deontay wilder both had unique entrances to the ring on Saturday night but the advantage at once the bell rang was all furious. Wilder was knocked down twice once in the third and once in the fifth round while there was able to extend the fight to the seventh round but fury was too much. Wilders corner threw in the towel giving fury the win by Technical Knockout Fox sports analysts and huge boxing Fan Christopher starred with us. Now good to have you on this one. How surprised were you by the outcome will pick wild during the tenth round? Tko So obviously. I thought he'd win. I was surprised he lost. I would not have been surprised. If fury had one in a decision it was a close fifty fifty. A lot of people are saying. It's a fifty fifty fight. I wouldn't have been surprised at off. He just outboxed him for trail round right but for him to march forward the way he did and knock him out. That's the problem. He was saying he was GONNA do it. You know in the premiums fight and I thought he was just talking noise right right and I thought he may be trying to throw wilder off. But here's something I have said since. Wilders become champion and been this prominent fighter and this is why despite his all time high knockout percentage despite his record no one really has ever put him in the class of Tyson Ali. Form and frazier any rocky Marciano. Any of the really great heavyweights. Because the fact is he can't box. He cannot box he has this. That's you his fight against Louis Ortiz. Recently he was getting shut out every round he knocked him out. May One St Right. And so what? What fury did there were so great when he took the fight to wilder and he had wilder backing up like around one. I was watching a fight with some guys. And we're like the body language or walters. Now he's backing up all of a sudden he's never nobody knew that right and he lunges with throws the right he steps for with his left and then lunges. You can't do that if you're backing up. And he wants. He took a fury. Took that away from him. He had no answer no he doesn't jive with a as a weapon. He does it to measure so I get the right right. He can't dance. I was even saying it may be equilibrium. Was just off but once after the third round. He looked out on his feet. I was saying run. Just move until you can get your wits about you or whole you wits about you. And he didn't even know how to do that. Look he showed a lot of heart. He showed tremendous heart because a punch drunk for the last four. But and I'll say this finally. I hope I'm wrong. I don't think he can bounce back. I don't think I think the best chance. He has the balance about that. Furio bounce back thinking fury. I think his best chance of bouncing back is to fight Joshua and maybe beat him but here you know you're the bully and then you get bullied and we've seen it. George Forman it's a religious conversion and fifteen. Here's a preaching to become when he became when he was a whole different person that one Tyson was never quite the same age. Because you're not the same in your own mind nor do you have that intimidation opponents and Roy Jones. Junior wasn't a bully but he was dominant you. Once he got beat he was never this guy. I just mentally. It's GonNa be so hard for him to bounce back I again. I don't think he could be fury. I definitely don't think it'd be fury but I have trouble in general so going back in history. This is what me very late on Saturday night. I picked wilder in a second round knockout because I thought after Tyson fury had all week predicted. I'm going to knock him out in the second round that he would get a little careless and be vulnerable to the one punch. That deontay did have in that. That Punch you could argue is about as lethal as any punch. We've seen in the history of boxing. I don't know if I've ever seen him more savage right than that one in all it takes is one. Is You know and that? Big trees going to topple. But you have to catch him flush and he wasn't able to catch him with it so we're my head. Went back to a fight. That I wrote about was that I watched. I didn't go to just watched it here. That was the rumble in the jungle. I haven't been more shocked by the strategy and the unfolding of a fight than than I have since I sat watching Ali something that I thought was impossible to the beast. Who Was George Foreman and remember in those days George? Foreman weighed two hundred and fifty pounds. He didn't wait to seventy three. And I thought that was beyond massive and Ali Wade to twenty for that fight so he was given up thirty pounds but he wound but he games he had gained. Wait to find out by hand by. I totally agree but I did not see rope adult coming. Because I don't think he's corner. Saw Rope it upcoming. He didn't tell anybody and he goes and lays against the ropes and let he had worked on his core all through his camp and he just put his gloves on and he just said is that all you got champ. Is that all you got and you just kept trying to chop wood until he just chopped himself down

"Might grandfather that was kind of the twilight of his boxing crew. My grandfather judged boxing matches when boxing was the number one sport. You're listening in the world through the voice of celebrity attorney, author celebrity S him celebrity just good old lawyer, I'm an old fashioned. But no. In terms of Gerry Cooney you know, I mean you remember well with the same age. I mean the nineteen seventies had the most unbelievable guys being, you know, Ali Frazier Forman. Earnie shavers, Ken Norton Dylan, right? Right. And, and well, so many my, my father who's listening, we'll probably say the fifties the sixties and all that. But my grandfather judged all those vibes. I need to go on the website is box wreck. And see my grandpa, the judge any Jerry Kunis fights. But that was the today. I don't know that was such a racially charged five you chummy right now who the heavyweight champion of the world is right now. No, of course not. No, no, no. I mean but in the seventies, I mean, fifties, I mean, everyone know I mean Joe Louis rocky Marciano Sonny listed Mohammed. Yeah. I mean then it was off to the races. But, but this one particular fight again, with Cooney. I'll talk to him about it with Larry Holmes. He was the great white hope played that up. And really they treated Larry Holmes not. He was the champion and they didn't treat them with the respect, you know. It was actually introduced Larry Holmes. I. And he was a champion in the ring, usually the champ gets introduced second. Well, of course they didn't do that. Because well whatever reason it wasn't it wasn't right. We'll talk to cool. You know, not a lot of ratio of what internationally known boxing match on a lot of racial overtones envisioning, because it was two black men with Alli Frazier was the very first free because I Lee called Frazier, uncle Tom had all the undertones of the Vietnam war goal is I Li a lot worse than that. But that was terrible. He tried to make him into a white guy, even though he you know, he's Joe Frazier the white guy. So it was just a special on one of the major b o Netflix about that fight, which my grandfather judge March eighth nineteen seventy-one in this building. Unbelievable. Judge audie. Dollar has it nine rounds Frazier six rounds Ali, and you Don Dunphy scream. Freshest, won the fight Frazier's when the fight because my grandfather, the second judge, or they introduce it was awesome Kanthi on dollar and Bill wrecked. No kidding building was maj. Frank, Sinatra went to life magazine to get press credentials. So he could be the photographer for life magazine. So Frank Sinatra could be ringside for the fight. That's how hard it was. Leave. I believe I remember vaguely when I was a kid school six, seven years old. But it was it was the thing it was the biggest owning event of the twenty. It was right up there with Jesse Owens running in the in the Olympics during Hitler's reign and all the three of them had three fights the Thrilla in Manila last one. So listen to authorize dollar you represent you work on the team. The lawyer that the legal team for Harvey Weinstein. That's what they say. And they just fired. Jose baez. I, I wouldn't use that word. I mean, knowing what I know it wasn't who's aim mutual? It seems like very much mutual. Parting of the ways, you know, when you get into these relationships, whether it's them, big relish be case like Harvey Weinstein or some guy who's got a DWI, and he loses his driver's license. He loses his job and his whole life is dependent on. There's a chemistry between the clients and the lawyer. That's imperative there has to be a positive relationship that has to be the clients put his bed his head his hand. On the pillow at night, knowing hey, this person who I hired is in my corner. I trust them. I believe that they know what they're doing very much like if God forbid, you would diagnosed with cancer, and the doctor is going to operate, you're trying to cut the cancer, but I mean you can't get the cancer out of your own body. So you're putting your life in the life of another and you just want to trust that person. And you know these Jose's, I I've worked with him for the first time now hands on he's, he's a very, very, very he represented. Casey. Anthony Aaron Hernandez, Aaron names that broke his heart because Iran is went on trial. I with another lawyer and was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. But then he was charged with another homicide that he had to go to trial. Jose tried it and one and they, they formed a real bonding relationship, which is typical when you're in that kind of stressful situation and then killed himself. And I know that, that, that hit Jose really hard and he, he got brought in Ben Bronfman originally was representing Harvey. They. They had a parting of the ways and again, Ben Bronfman is the gold standard of defense attorneys in New York City, but they, you know, again, I think it was a clash of personalities more than anything else were you working with buyers. I mean, very close very he's doing a brought me into the case. Jose Baez is listen. We need a little New York knowledge. So you have that type of report that you would just alluding to with Harvey Weinstein right now. Yeah. I mean, yes, if I did, I wouldn't be involved in the case because you have to be passionate about will do if you're not, you can't just go through the motions that the next four months because this case is starting the first week of September and the probably going to go to the first week of November the next four months. I mean, I'm going to lose them years of my life. I mean you the intensity of the hours that you put in, but it's not just hours like I mean, it's just your brain is going and listening to you driving in about smoking, marijuana, and dropping IQ points. I mean forget about marijuana. I. Actually was thinking. All right, we're, we're about ninety days less than ninety days I should probably really stopped drinking and just get on a major health kick, because I'm gonna need every ounce of energy strength that they have, we're in front of a very tough judge. He's gonna make us work from nine in the morning till five, and then at five days begins, because now you've got to prepare for the for the next day. So you're getting four or five hours of sleep, and I have a two and a half year old and a thirteen year old and a wife and, and, you know, and, and by the way, it's not the only case I have so easy easy. Being authorized no. I'm not analysts is what I wished I understand. No. I'm sure you can't complain when you wake up at two o'clock in the morning. I don't want to know. Because that's, that's what you wish for listen, author all the best you on that. But the clock is ticking fests, as always does, and I want to get to the queen's DA race. I watched the debate I watched the debate on TV between a New York one between all of them. The guy Greg Lisek. He's a he's a queens, the right now. No, no, no. He's the judge the judge. That's right. That's why he wasn't until two thousand three and he became a judge. And he's running to replace he stepped off the bench. I mean he had a very solid cushy position that he was in, and he gave that up to run for the district attorney's position and quite frankly, I, I have no personal relationship with them. I mean I have appeared before him, but, I don't you know, I mean I know to say Hello, but it's only he's my buddy like Eric Zalis was who ran for Brooklyn DA. Well, I guess the so qualified, and yet the New York Times, endorses. Well, he looked lace. Got endorsed by the post, and the daily news they barely agree on anything. They don't agree on on on the time of day. So the fact that the post and the news, both endorsed. Sex shows he's the qualified candidate. The times endorsed, young woman who I don't know. But I know her qualifications. She's been a lawyer for seven years, and that whole time, she's been a public defender, if I'm a resident of queens, that is not who I want is the chief law enforcement rice the district. Attorney of each county is the highest ranking law enforcement officer in that higher than anyone in the NYPD cetera et cetera. So listen. So if you want to be safe, I would be voting for Greg Petco, your sentiment. When I watched the debate, it was all about all about how to keep people out of jail, no cash bail. No jail. That's what it was all about. And somebody wrote a former detective wrote recently, not a DA is not a social worker, but that's what it seems like all the candidates running, except for Greg Lasix are acting like I mean, that's the these are the people, you wouldn't trust to lock up the bad guys. And they're talking about how to keep out of jail, and it's not just queens in Brooklyn as race two years ago when when. What I did know every single of the five or six candidates when I watched the New York when the band to be that district attorney or the head of legal aid. But, you know, a lot of the of the social research that we're doing shows that just throwing people in jail in throwing away. The key is not, not helping the interesting part is that what you're talking about is really abundant in the state system. But in the federal system, I have a case on a Monday, where they recommending an inordinate extraordinary amount of jail time for twenty four year old kid who made a mistake, and it's almost a victimless crime, and it's amazing because I'm practicing them both places the federal courts and the state coach and the state courts are doing what you're saying, like, what it's all about alternatives to incarceration. Is there any way we could punish this person and rehabilitate them without putting them in prison? The public metro system, you know, I mean luckily yesterday was in front of a very good judge. Who, who did the right thing for a client of mine, but that's kind of the exception to the rule. It's not the rule in the federal courts. But I'll see I'll. You're going gonna see Bernie in five years. I think the feds are going to catch up, and you're gonna see the feds stop putting less people in jail. There's a differentiation between this and I know we got to go to a break, there are good people who make mistakes, and do bad things for various reasons, and then they were bad, people who do bad things, the bad, people who do bad things like the guys you talk about in Suffolk County those gang members do horrific things put them away and throw away the key. But the good people who screw up, you know, whether it's they drink too much, and they get behind the wheel. They lose their temper, and they act improperly. They're motivated by financial burdens. Understood throwing them throwing just throwing them in a cage, no air on the safety, the side of the safety of the public. That's real. I mean, the poster boy for no cash Vail, who has spent two years in Rikers island. The kid ended up being rearrested several times since then and believe me, the people who have supported him so upset because obviously, you don't want the poster boy that whole no cash bail had to do with certain judges, serving setting Balan everyone. And there's some people, you said fifty dollars bail, they can't make it. No. Right either. So you know, we're still were, hey shot hanging out with you. Shutouts Jerry q I was. Well, we have you can hang out, all right? But, but look a shoutout to a mutual friend, Bob master's degree guy weeds. The as awesome man, by the way, he's got that little Mustang, very dapper very class. Are we going to do in a big way for sit who's not here? I mean, this is what it's going to be like, when he finally leases that he's not leaving us. All of this. Because of the show. I mean just because you know, sit he's gonna drive a car off the cliff like nuts. Louise can have an standing up for your boy, right. Absolutely. Obviously, we love author, I dollars so you, you, you hang around you hang around with Jerry Coney, Ellison, whenever flipper says, you know, I'm supposed to go out for drink would flipper and ten o'clock this morning. She doesn't feel well showed him, go to sleep us, blowing you off plenty work on the.

How about the names of Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, gene Tunney match Schmeling Joe Louis rocky Marciano Sonny liston Mohammed Ali, Joe Frazier George Foreman going to all the greats Larry Holmes Mike Tyson. He joins the list fact, not fiction. You might not like it. You might think boxing's down whatever it is. How do you not praise? This kid who looks like he's never lifted away, really overweight wasn't in shape out the way, we thought a boxer should lift like, because Anthony Joshua comes in looking like Donna's like he's cut out of stone. The better athlete no doubt about it. It. But I couldn't believe how great Ruis was. He knocked him down four times he threw unbelievable combinations. He got knocked down and got up again. He showed tremendous heart. It was a really good fight. Now there's a hope to this story on leading with this for a reason. I'll lead with it at the top of every other hour after the fight because this was on a streaming device does own that you had a stream, and people are very confused on how to do this millennials are cool with people understand boxing fans. Love it. It's like an all you can eat buffet a boxing for the price. You get all the fights if you're interested in that. But most people miss this fight, and after the fight after the final man home prepping for the show and on there with my wife and one of my two sons, and I say throw on the TV 'cause let's watch the coverage afterwards. I put on ESPN. It's women's college softball. I put on CBS sports network. It was some GT auto racing Fox Sports. One had their own fight, and then they went to some replay of something. There was nothing else on. It was college baseball. It's Twenty-nine teen. The heavyweight championship of a world three belts, changed hands and you couldn't find it anywhere, even NBC sports network, not NBC network. The cable network which had the Stanley Cup and I'll get to the bees win coming up over Saint Louis after the game, NBC sports network ran a documentary on a hockey player and they didn't even go to this. It was nine thirty Pacific time on the bleep in west coast from Los Angeles, San Diego up to Portland and Seattle lost Vegas, the fight capital of the world, and they didn't have one body, one human being sitting at a desk. Soccer. In reading off a prompter that the heavyweight championship of a world changed hand in a global upset, couldn't find it on TV I'm telling you, I, I wrote it down. I told every I go can you believe this change the channel you go all the regional FOX's all the regional prime tickets wherever you live. Nothing. Couple of baseball games and barely convention. This twenty plus thousand people were in attendance at Madison Square Garden for that fight tonight, twenty thousand mostly Brits, who came across the pond to see their fighter who supposed to retain this heavyweight title for another three four, five years, he supposed to be Tyson fury. He's going to be able to beat and go out and have no problem with Deontay wilder. I liked the WALDO. I was one of the first guys to ever ever interview him when he came on the scenes there. And he's all cocky now like he should win. And he could beat anybody. Tonight's about a young man of. Mexican descent who became the heavyweight champion of the world Andy raised junior. Now, if you want to rip on boxing and talk about how you don't watch it. I think that's ignorant. If you wanna talk about boxing and some of the problems that hasn't white it watch it, maybe couldn't stream it. Maybe don't understand it. It wasn't on pay per view. You couldn't find it on TV. I think that'd be a good phone call. But overall, it's a big deal. It's a shocking upset, and it was a really good fight. The difference between this and Buster Douglas and Mike Tyson. That wasn't a good fight. If you remember Tyson getting knocked out in Tokyo barely threw a punch. He was in a daze. He didn't train for the fight. He was out of shape. He was zombie at issues outside the ring. He came in and he was Assam being got beat up. It wasn't an entertaining fight this fight. This was a hell of a fight. This was an epic fight for a couple of rounds here with two big heavyweights going toe to toe so a half the lead with this. I wouldn't be doing my job if I blew this off. I mean it's the heavyweight championship of the world we have to get in. Into that. All right. The Bruins beat Saint Louis first home game and forty nine years for the blues, I'll say this again about the Saint Louis blues because it's a bit. I've been doing for over twenty three twenty four years on the radio. The blues ranked with the clippers and the Expos as the worst franchises in the history of North American sports. Never have one never gonna win. They can't get it done. So the balloons had their big chance today tonight. And they completely bailed out and got dominated by the peace. Boston is about to win another championship. I'm a New York fan. I root against Boston teams. I know we're on the sports up. I've been on that station and the other competitor there for well over longer than anyone in the history of nighttime syndication Boston. I love you. I respect you. But unless you're a Boston fan, you shouldn't be rooting for another Boston championship that is high praise for the hub and being down because the rest of the country is watching Boston continually. He went in sports. And if you're a Boston fan, you gotta love it. Everybody else's sitting around scratching their head going. The bees are two more victories away from another duck boat parade. In Boston, where everybody knows the route. Tom Brady's one six Super Bowls. Paul Pierce, won an NBA title. The bays are about to win again. And the Red Sox of recently won't one for World Series. No city in America is close to Boston when it comes to winning championships. And having the mindset that they want to bury your city as a sports down. Sorry, New York, Philadelphia, Detroit Los Angeles wherever it is. We got some great sports cities and in North America, great sports cities. Nothing compares the Boston now. So you're either with them, or you're against them letting Boston understands that, and that, that's high praise but Louis. Yeah. The only thing standing in the way I'm in Vegas. I knew that the Vegas Golden Knights weren't better than the blues. They were much better than the blues much better. They got robbed by San Jose by bad call. We're still bitter about it but you got to move on Tampa Bay was the best team in hockey by far. I mean you can ask those guys skated the lace up their skates now and get off the fish in ponds, and they could come back and put up a better fight than the blues. A disgraceful performance tonight in Saint Louis for a town that sings, Gloria after they win hockey games. What New York has Sinatra sing New York, New York, and we're going to get behind Gloria in Saint Louis. They failed miserably tonight, the Bruins to away and finally, which what will leading with the entire show will stay on the NBA finals game two coming up on Sunday and it's still Saturday here on the west coast. But for those were excited about. This. This is a massive opportunity for Toronto to not only control the series. But to really put Golden State on the verge of elimination Golden State's great team. I think they can come back from down. Oh, two they can do some incredible things, but Toronto played incredible defense. And they had more energy, even though the warriors had nine days off between that waxing of Portland, maybe the most biggest mismatch. I've seen an NBA Western Conference finals history warriors were arrested, then they ran into Toronto and Toronto buried them in that game and won the game comfortably. Here's coli Leonard who's acting like he is the best player anywhere around the world. Ceac of on the bounce gets it to Leonard up top works back to the far side on the triple shot clock at five on looney pull up three in the air. "And you destroyed them six months later each guy that's gets pretty as good as rocky Marciano a plus of fifty or Floyd may money may whether whatever it is this is just an a plus two people beat you. And you beat the crap out of both of seven months after they won the first close fight. Okay. Although Rochman did not come out. So we'll we'll talk to that. Also, never fought Corey Sanders. Crazy, South African guy who was like this scratch golfer. Who was evidently a very nice guy. Big sorta white guy from South Africa ended up getting into boxing and ended up knocking out one. Of the click goes to become the heavyweight champion the world. And then several years later, not a lot. But some years later still a young man, maybe forty years old died in a random shooting in South Africa. When like someone just came into a restaurant, and he was just like having lunch with his daughter something, and they started shooting up the restaurant, and he covered he covered her up and sorta acted as a, you know, human dad shield, and he was he was killed. I guess it was an armed robbery, but they just started shooting I shooting around terrible. And he was young. I mean entered firing their guns ready, right? He was at a restaurant. I mean, he just having the gun. We'll be done off to rob a restaurant. No need to come in fire Brang. Right. Sanders was near the end of the restaurant and he got hit in the stomach in the yard. He moved in front of his daughter protector. Seth I he was what forty forty two like he'd probably retired a couple years. But it wasn't that that many years. Yeah. As as bleeding pulled his daughter to the ground and tells too pretentious, dead home fun. I know what a guy at. But he did we cut to this other restaurant out of their this do kids fire runs outside dies on his car. That's right. Block pretend you're outta gas. The. "Massachusetts, you're using what interstate highway right which again, they could technically get involved with that. There's also issues with banking, which is which is really troubling. I mean right now Senator Elizabeth Warren. She's putting forth a Bill that will get everybody out of the dark shadows of this. So that they can do banking right now if I have not been through a dispensary, and I don't plan on it because I don't use. But if you go to one of the pot shops, I currently everything is cash. Right. So you can't use a credit card kings debit card. It's strictly cash. Very bizarre. Yes. That almost. Gives you the indication that you're doing something you're really from Somerville. That ends in a volley understand now, it's all above board. I mean legal and yet you still dealing with a cash business. It makes you feel like kind of dirty dealings, right? And then if there's a stigma, obviously there is so if there's this all this business that's being done with all this cash. Now, they need security at these locations because there's a lot of right asteroids, convenience stores get time-to-time because why because of the lottery a lot because there's a point where you really couldn't buy lottery tickets with credit cards. I don't think that that's the case anymore, but debit cards. I'm sure you can. But there's a lot of cash on hand. So that's a security issue. Like, how do you pay your workers? I mean, you paying them in cash, I guess so what's going on? And please can I work there because I like the way that were cast. Yes, I'm all about cash rocky Marciano who used to high cash in the pipes in his house. You're saying if I went to your apartment in the winter time cash there, you probably wouldn't find any cash because I don't have any tore apart. You're not saying no money hitting bed bugs or something. But I don't think you'd find any cash.

"I meets the doctor of the word the actual doctor doctor doctor doctor fifty who was a real doctor doctor dean Brooks, and by the way. Who I think is great in this film? I think whenever you see the doctors in this film. They're portrayed. So real that, you know, they're not overly emotional. I think we've seen so many passionate doctors seems like no we gotta get him outta here. You know, like, look if you look at that movie with Robin Williams, and Robert deniro awakenings, you know, it's like, no, we got, you know, I, you know, it's like, it's all this passionate. And I think Dr has artists, but this is Dr has bureaucrat exactly, and I think that there is something really wonderful about how behind the scenes, there's no big no big plan. You know, they're just kind of doing their job everyone's doing their jobs. Yeah. And I mean, if this movie is about a man's fight against the institution, you know, the larger issue of man vs institution. Which is what it was to Miller schwartman. You know, this is a guy who comes out of Czechoslovakia. Both of his parents were in turned in the camps during World War Two institution institution. They ended up dying in the camps. He is a man who was always at war with institutions, which I think is why he was a really good pick. A direct this film. Absolutely. So yeah, let's listen to him sitting down and trying to convince the doctor that he's crazy without trying to act like you thinks his craziest Ronald draw this thin line of Emma. Crazy make maybe in here lock me up, man. But I don't know. Like, maybe the system is crazy. He's basically justifying his reason for being in the hospital is I'm just too much of a cool primal man in a modern world that can't handle me. You'll go in. Well it. Says several things here. Said you've been belligerent. Talked when unauthorized been resentful attitude toward work in general that you're lazy. Chewing gum in class. Well, the real reason that you've been set over here is because they wanted you to be valuated. Yeah. Can determine whether or not you're mentally ill. This is the real reason. Do you think they might think that? Well, as near as I can figure out it's because I. Fighting fucked too much, then he goes under say like, yeah, I've been in fights. But rocky Marciano has got at least forty fights. And he's a millionaire which that is a point. Well, I mean, it's not a point. I mean, that's gotta point the professional boxer. But I, but I think when you when you're listening to this when you're listening to him, but he is okay. But he's got a point about society liking fighting. But I mean, come on. It's like it's like the meat going beat that person up with a baseball bat. But, you know, baseball players carry baseball, bats too. It's like. Like like. Sorta dot com. But I think what you're doing you're setting this character up in a way to be too sympathetic now, I'm not arguing for conformity. Like, I don't think that I just think that this movie positions one character. It's like what he is accused of being mentally ill is like you. Don't do what people tell you, speak your own mind. And you're a cool, dude. You know, it's like wait a second. You know, like you put somebody in a mental institution for those that when he says cheek comments on its chewing, gum and class a high school reference. Yeah, it's like. It it. It is kind of insane. That this is where they would send him because it just seems like he'll be putting the whole like cool hand. Luke, like, you know, he's not crazy. But he's trying to be great. Right. That's what I think is. So funny is like his performance of being crazy. I mean here this is even what he does. Right. When he rolls into the hospital because he's putting on a show of being crazy. Who?.

That they're struggling with that way class anyways, Adam they don't want that class anyways in their little. Yeah. It's a little too small for the fellas. Yeah. Starting to starting to think. So it's a crazy. The reason the sport is exciting mixed martial arts is because mighty mouse was the guy who dominated that division unbeatable and thought to be on beatable and pretty much. Everyone's pound for pound guy, even though he was Dimitrius Johnson. Yeah. Minute sky. Then he gets beat by the Huda guy way out of the blue like no one was this guy was on beatable, but it gets beat by Huda. And then now so Huda beats dillashaw kind of weird tough fight. But you never know you never know. I grew up a whole life. I'd be watching Muhammad Ali, and they put some guy in front of them with love handles and red hair. And it's like all right. Well, I guess we know how this is. You know, we know what you're going to Randall Tex Cobb for fifteen rounds. Irene how this is going to end later on Larry Holmes later on Mike. Kind of know in mixed martial arts. You never know. You never know what I miss about the old days is like those way classes, they stayed in the way classes, but I mean. Cooling about Ali is he was he was a light heavyweight when he went in and was still crushing guys. But he gained way to go in. I feel like when you lose weight. That's such a big disadvantage. I don't think it's fair. I don't think I'll e was a light heavy. He came out as a light heavyweight when he was on grow. Nobody went in. And he wasn't light-heavyweight. I think he went in as a heavyweight, but he was still light heavyweight a lighter weird back then because the, you know, the guys like the guy guys like rocky Marciano one hundred eighty pounds fifty now. All right. We have some I know you love the fight stuff. So Adrian Brodie got his butt kicked by. Brunner was I interviewed him. It wasn't easy guy to interview because he's one of these guys. I don't know who the guys you do the interviews. Don't wanna do interviews. But they're doing the interview. And they know somebody like, I guess like somebody told you to do the interview like somebody wrangled you like household you up and do the interview when you want like I don't want to do the interview couple of things you're we're on the same business, which is like, hey, go talk to this radio guy. I wanna sleep in that you want to sell your comedy special your book, fight or your favorite or you wanna move some tickets. Right. You wanted..

"Will continue to be for some time. According to pretty much everyone. As it seems that every time they get together and have a meeting come out more dug in than they were before. Oh, you're not only stupid, but your fat what? And then they. So hopefully, talk some smart people about that. Boy, Lindsey Graham was good on face the nation yesterday. Standing up for Trump side of the argument. We'll play some of that throughout the morning. It's going to be a cornucopia of twenty nineteen goodness. Let's kick off the show by introducing everybody. In the squad will start over there with our board operator Michelangelo pressing buttons flip and toggles pulling levers already this morning. Like, I'm doing great happy new year to everybody and hope you all had a good Christmas. And I'm a little sore this morning, my Ridler hurting from all the laughing at the Golden Globes last night. I watched that. I I have two parties one for the Golden Globes and the other one for the Pro Bowl. The busy time of year for you. Right. And. The angels. I'm hurting this morning. My ribs are sore. Stuff. Yeah. First time ever. I think I didn't see a second of the Golden Globes. Some reason I just couldn't make myself watch any of it, even though it's something I really kind of need to do for this too much loathing. Yeah. Couldn't bring myself listen to Hollywood. But luckily, and I knew that Sean would have the highlights so exactly about that would cover it. And that's what we do around here at the Armstrong and Getty show, something to loathesome to you'd actually sit through. But you're kind of curious about it. We'll bring it to you. Yeah. I don't mind the the the jokes in the awards, and all that sort of stuff is silly is all that is I you know, I of like to know, what do people think is the best TV show or movie, but I just can't listen to a lecture from Hollywood bowl boy about about how we treat women in the workplace or or Trump or anything. I just can't handle. It wasn't in the mood. Others positive. Sean who smile like up the room are you shop doing very well. There are some very famous and well known undefeated mostly in the sports realm because that's really the only place where that sort of record keeping competition at the nineteen seventy-two Miami Dolphins, you got your Mark you or your rocky Marciano. You got you're out. You're nineteen seventy-two UCLA Bruins basketball, and you have me at white elephant gift exchanges. I am undefeated in terms of the value that I extract. I bring the gift. Is this fantastic jacket that I've been wearing practically every day because it's cold now in the winter. That's that's how it goes. So I got this from the white elephant gift exchange, really? And it's like a range came away with a wearable item of clothing fantastic. Crazy. What I brought to the white elephant gift exchange was, you know, about the Himalayan salt. You know about the pink salt you've seen this. Hi. It's all the rage is better for you. The.

"And a little bit, but we have to start with with my day, really because I'm selfish microphone. I had a microphone you don't. You will listen to every word that I have to say I was. Drought. I was hoping somebody would pick that movie the movie references between these two is just that's the currency of a football locker room is movie. References it really is. And by the way, if we can get into it. My gentleman over here behind the glass temples finest has not he just saw coming to America for the first time club. Just saw coming to America was the day before Christmas is the day before Christmas. I listen, I saw bits and pieces of coming to America. But I fully sat through and watched it like the first day or the day before Christmas Christmas Eve. Okay. And he's got his take on. It was was it. My take is even. Hi, I said it was like a two and a half two point eight out of four. That's not that bad but used to not Friday. But there was another movie you say, he's my favorite movie gives another weather. Adam Sandler said it wasn't us. It wasn't a happy. Gilmore laugh. I think. I was thrilled on self. Listen. I love happy Gilmore, I would say, my greatest strength is a golfer is being able to quote, happy Gilmore in a timely fashion that in here an ice cream truck within probably two or three miles of any golf course. It's a weird. Geographical thing. But coming to America is a triumph coming to America is one of the greatest comedies that's ever been made. And I don't know man that hurts my soul like the fact that it took you this long, and the fact that you lack the proper appreciation for this. I don't know, man. A little bagel. The barbershops is pretty good. Rocky Marciano rocky Marciano Zola. Okay. So I'm just saying. My my own. Also made me the test. I look up what happened here I was trying to hijack the segment, and now all of a sudden you guys have hijacked. Me. I've learned and I didn't know this Bobby carpenter sneaky sneaky movie reference guy, like lot of movie quotes, Bobby carpenter. So the two of you together is scary. I was gonna talk about how disappointed I was when I heard about Mike Mayock becoming the raiders GM. But it's fine. It's fine. It's fine. We'll just get into a briefly now disappointed. Yes. Look you want some level. I'm sitting there hanging out with Bobby. We we were together yesterday and get up having a good time. Right. And I'm sitting back there sitting next to Bobby and got my feet cross about that. We're kind of in a break just Chit chat. And all of a sudden, I hear breaking news, Mike, Mayock, new GM of the raiders. And look if you're if you're looking for an inspiring higher, which I think the raiders fan base right now is I get the left of center approach where it's like, hey, you're going to hire the guy fine. How much any of us really know about viable GM candidates anyway. But there is this moment of like, oh that guy but Jon Gruden did yesterday. Make a funny made a joke and check out what he said when he was asked who's gonna make this isn't the presser yesterday from being announced. And when he was asked to you know, who makes the trades who who who gets the phone calls. This is what Gruden said if this a good trade. I'll make the calls if it's a bad trade. It'll be way it's going to be around here. We're going to work together. You know, one thing that I really believe is this is a people business the Oakland Raiders, I don't know about every other building. But we're gonna work together. Hard may I'll go now be tasked with building the raiders from the bottom up. He has three first round picks to get it started and are built for you features. Brought to you by Mercedes Benz vans built for you. The all new sprinter built in the USA. There's a little bit of truth to that joke. Right said he'll be tasked with building the raiders we pass for exploiting Jon Gruden situations. He didn't get the GM job became the head of PR for the Oakland. Raiders, go third. Explain away everything a little bit of truth. Like the fact that that's what he leads with. That was at the forefront of his mind because everybody else has been joking. Muslims thrown out that everybody's already thinking this. What else can go wrong? Mike Mayock had to be sitting there. Looking over shoulder gone. How much might get paid again. Someone just read me that number back. So I can feel a lot better about what was just said. Right at this moment because that is sort of what we've all been seeing. Listen, Mike been a part of the media. Very recently was over at the NFL network doing a great job with their draft coverage, but he's been around. And I'm sure heard enough of of the book on what John gruden's tenure has looked like from thirty thousand feet in the outside. Now getting a look at it on the inside and getting this opportunity. Great for Mike a guy who loves this and works as hard this about anyone else. But Bobby, you're right. It's it's a difficult thing to kind of reconcile with because we all know the power structure. It's like what we always talk about in Dallas with Jason Garrett like as mad as we want to get with him. We understand he's there because Jerry Jones trust him believes that that's a guy who's going to do the things he wants you mentioned your hard. Mike Mayock works grinder does all these evaluations. He goes good job. Here's the thing is going to put together this really pretty draft. Book look amazing to there and talk to John Gruener about it and give it to get. Thank you his coffee on it. These are the guys that I want some stuff handwritten on a piece of paper figure out a way to draft these guys. Grinder man less with Bobby carpenter and the handwritten note thing, do you do you do handwritten Christmas cards to just feel like Jon Gruden doesn't probably use a computer the same way that most people do he's like old school coach Jon Gruden clips his glasses together in the middle. That's how old school exactly that job. Your job. Basically is like being the White House press secretary. You don't make any of the decisions, but you have to go in and explain them. All nice frothy. Press corps. We're gonna be in there. Everyone's following him. And now you're going to you know, what? Take all the stones, man. You know, what I think you guys are all wrong. Mike MAC does great work on the draft coverage. He's going to be great GM things are gonna turn around this year. He may have great ideas. But you have to have somebody that listens to and on that note..
