Breitbart's Matt Boyle Gives Speaker McCarthy an A+

"I want to get some other stories here. That we have a story here for breitbart dot com. I want to read the headline. Speaker McCarthy and video special how the world has changed in new Republican majority in-house. I'll never give up. Matt, you've had the opportunity to interview him a couple times. How would you grade speaker McCarthy as how he's doing right now as head of the House of Representatives? I mean, I would say he's a pretty much an a plus, right? I mean, I think that he's doing everything that he said he was going to do over the course of the beginning of the year. And if anything, that really rainbow chase first week is speaker or the week leading up to him being the speaker the first week of the Republican majority where they had 15 separate speakership elections. We talked about this in the interview. So we did it in our on camera interview. We talked about a whole number of different topics, immigration, China, the border. The debt ceiling was a big part of it. The one of the things we open with was the new Republican majorities like. And that was very much focused on what that first week was like. And he talked about how it was. You know, pretty tough week, you know, 15 rounds like rocky Balboa, but he made it through it. And he said that while it was tough going through and he wouldn't wish that on anyone, it's still he thinks that that made it made the House Republicans come a little bit closer together. And I think you're seeing that happen right now where they just pulled off the remarkable passage of the debt ceiling deal that is forced President Biden to the table to negotiate. And now the Senate Republicans are united behind the house Republicans heading into these negotiations next week at The White House. So. There are a lot of things to like about what McCarthy has done as speaker so far. And I

"And after I finished that cut of the movie, I was like, damn, that was really good. And I looked it up that version is like a claimed from the people who reviewed it in the original version is the lowest rated Iraqi. And lower than like rocky 5, it was lower than rocky 5. I think it had like a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Iraqi 5 had 55. And Iraqi 5 is the worst one for the record. It's a terrible. What's the one that's just. Remember years ago when he made a new Rambo movie in a new rocky movie and they were just called like Rambo and rocky. Which one, which rocky would that be? Rocky Balboa. Right, but like in numbers, so that would be 6. Okay. Yeah, but they didn't. So that's the only one I had seen. I'd never seen any of the other ones but I watched that one for some reason. And then I went back and watched the first one and I was like, nah, I'm not gonna watch that say something. I got it. We're good. Don't you wanna see this robot romance? I wanna see him take on the Soviet Union apparently cut. They cut this entire robot out of the movie for the re edit, by the way. After I finished watching it, I decided to sort of skim through the original version. And I'm just like, how is this the same movie? This is genuinely insane. I do not understand. What's the robot? It's like the Snyder cut. It's just like, it's just like a robot that was designed to ease rocky's brother in law's loneliness. What does it look like? Is it like an Android? Anyone should look it up, but it's like, it's on wheels and it's got like a kind of got a humanoid body, and it's kind of looks like the maid from Jensen's. I feel like we should get off of rocky. I pictured has a robot that was programmed a box. It kind of sounds like one of the base wars competitors, Damon. It does sound like that, yeah. I think they're just robots are just more prevalent in movies. In the movie in the film, Wall Street? With Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas. Yeah, it's like a serious movie or at least I thought maybe maybe it's because I was a kid and it was like an adult movie at the time. But there's a party at Michael Douglas's house and they have like a robot waiter. Like literally like R two D two on the barge. That's just in a modern day adults house. Yeah, they're just going to have a robot waiter. And we still don't have that. We don't have that. Yeah. Anyway, sorry for everybody listening, that just had their machine turn on. I know that's something we're not supposed to do. I forgot about it. You say the names of these robots, they come to life, even if they're just getting scoop. Okay, I'm sorry. Have you guys seen Kevin can F himself? They literally in that show multiple times do an Alexa call out. It's so annoying. Like the guy will say, her name do this and my living room is just going wild. They do, they do it in the show. It's insane that they would let that be in the show. It's so funny. We should go for a record of how many tangents we can go on. Well,

"Well, Chris, as somebody who has seen movies that have tried to pull at heartstrings using boxing before, as someone who has seen the larger canon of sports movies, right? We know that there are cliches and archetypes and all of these constraints almost that you are saddled with as somebody who wants to make a good sports movie. How do you think creed three stacks up in that regard to you as someone who has surveyed not just the making, the behind the scenes of this, but also, yeah, the totality of your 40 years of watching sports films. Oh, it's more than that. I was, I went to see the great white hope on Broadway in 1969. Of course you did. That featured a mid 30s actor playing a boxer who became a major star as a result. And his name was James Earl Jones. So that goes back a long way for me. Let's face it in 1976, Sylvester Stallone reinvented the boxing movie. Yes. One year before George Lucas would reinvent the space epic with Star Wars. Both films came out of nowhere. They didn't reflect anything in the culture at that time. They made their own zeitgeist. And we've seen that franchise be very successful all through the rocky films, and this is the first in its long lineage. This is the 9th film from the rocky films to creed. That does not have rocky Balboa. This movie shows Adonis creed standing on his own two feet. It was time for him to do that. He no longer needed a Yoda figure advising him. And so there's a kind of pequot thrill in that as well. This franchise is on its own and proud that way. But the fundamental satisfactions of a boxing movie are still the same. We love the competition. We love the build up. We want the good guy to win. Part of what I love about this movie is that you get all that and you also get these more emotional stories along the way. Yeah, which is saying Chris Connolly is that, you know, 40 years from now, you expect to be talking to more actors about more sequels. I hope they'll be talking really loudly so I can hear what they're saying. Thank you for making yourself heard as always. Adios via daily. It's

"You too, right? It does, but those are two beatings by one man who actually won and a half. One and a half of a beating because that first fight was actually what two and a half. The first fight was good. Competitive. That's what I'm getting at. And then 35 was a beating. So two and a half. Two and a half fights of obesity good beatings. Yeah, but that's by one man. So I think he should just move on from those beatings and it goes back to knocking guys. I'll get that confidence back. Every fighter from rocky, Marciano rocky bell but not Rocky Marciano, but rocky Balboa. He'll come back with the eye of the Tiger, get some knockouts in, get the popularity back. And he's back. Well, I think he's got the right opponent in front of him October 15th. I mean, Robert and Lenny is the perfect comeback upon it. He's credible because he's got the back to back wins over Adam Kublai. But he's also vulnerable. He's 38 years old, and in the last few years, he's been knocked out by Gerald Washington. He was knocked out by Johann dua. Deontay Wilder should knock him out if he's anything close to that. If he's not, we'll learn in that fight. Look, the pathway for wild to have this second reign that he keeps talking about is there. Like he beats hilarious. There's a chance that a fight against Andy Ruiz if Ruiz beats Ortiz is for a vacant title. Like it's certainly possible if after fury and usyk do what they do, that those two guys could fight for a title. So there's a world championship, potentially on the table. And on paper, I favored Deontay Wilder against Robert helenus. On paper, I favored Deontay Wilder against Andy Ruiz. I think he's still very much able to be a top guy in the division. He's just got to want it though. I mean, you got to be able to relate to that. Like at some point, you stopped wanting it as much as you did earlier in your career, right? You got like no, no, no. It was never, it was never an issue about complacency or not being hungry. It was an issue of distractions. And that has to do with hunger. It just has to do with life. You know, you got to juggle life outside of boxing and distractions get in the way and this is where mental issues come around. I work on Caesar's palace right now, a distraction. You know what? Caesar's palace was a good time. And what good is getting to the top of the mountain if you can't enjoy the fruits of your labor? I would have loved to have known you back then at that time to see what you were doing at that point. No, but listen, I think you're right on point with the hellenes fight in the Andy Ruiz fight, but I'm going to tell you one thing, mannix, both those fights are going to be difficult, especially the Ruiz fight have ever happened, but he is going to give wilder some issues. I'm telling you right now. He's coming off a really successful versus a tall fighter. Tall fighters that are freakishly tall, 6 foot 6 plus. They're not accustomed to fighting another fighter that's 6 foot 6 plus. There are accustomed to having the size advantage. So whenever you get a big man fading a big man, they're not accustomed to it, kind of like a southpaw is unfamiliar with fighting another southpaw. It's awkward. I think hellenius is going to have some moments. He might even shake up wilder, that's going to be a better fight than expected. I don't disagree. I just can't get past how hellenius was stopped by Gerald Washington. I know Jared Washington. Big man.

She can skip Tommy gun. I think so too. Even though, again, local Oklahoma guy. Fuck it. RIP again. What? Yeah. But yeah, and then to see those and then you can see creed Juan creek two. Yeah, I haven't seen those either or rocky Balboa. It's all rocky Balboa, when it came out, it was good. I thought it was a decent it benefits from being way better than 5. Here's my question. Why are they making so many rocky movies and now he's gonna maybe do another Rambo? Where in the ever living fuck is MySQL to over the top. Or cobra, part two. Stop or my mom will shoot again. If nobody remembers over the top, it's all about Sylvester Stallone, who being a truck driver, and he has a machine in his car that he can work out his right arm or left arm fuck. I don't know. As he's driving so he can then and his downtime enter arm wrestling competitions. To make money on the side. And the way that he activates himself to get ready for a match is he takes his baseball cap and switches it to where it's backwards and he goes, it's like a switch. Turns me on, and then I'm like, a machine. These are lines that are in this movie. And then he's also trying to get his son back or get his son to love him. From a marriage, I'm crazy. I don't know what it is. But I want a sequel, damn it. Robert loggia was on that. Man, we're missing some greats. Well, yeah, it's like..

"Hall around a ipad to water movie. That's amazing actually i really. That's okay yes spoilers if you haven't seen iraqi but there's no way you're like me and you haven't becky. There's no way you of escaped the rattler every movie a. lot of movies reference rack. No i i knew several things about the spoil about rocky until that's true but actually i think the only thing you can spoil the results of the fight. Yeah i would say that is none. Which is what. I'm going to spoil right now okay. We walked away that night. And we're like dang he loses. What's the point. Excellent remember walking away. And then i watched it again later in high school. I was like seventeen on netflix. At that point. I would watch all of them in my dad's like doing watching these movies. That are like forty years old alcoholic dead. I don't understand. This is amazing. Rocky balboa about this and then watching it again last night i was like man just movie honestly think holds up better than dead. Poets society does interesting interesting. No i have probably said that. I think they would have been equal. They're very different. Audiences will like. I think the reason why i say that is because dead poet's society hit me in a really good time when i was in high school and to me is very much a movie for high school teenagers to like. Get them kick started. Your this movie is more of just like for anyone really like. that's why. I say it's held okay. That's so i like it more now. Because of where i'm at not because of the actual movie so thematically yeah i think it is more universally applicable but now the big thing i wanna talk about with rocky is we got started with dead poet. Society rocky is really a movie. philosophy in terms of like philosophy. Wise it's a movie about Living up to your potential. And that's what. I'm talking about so At the start of the movie rocky is i. Does he describe himself as a bum. The world not until later describes him as a bomb. Every he's he's kinda just he's got no terrible person they're not he. I know he's dating this podcast at twenty twenty one. He's he's rocking dated itself. All right..

Don't matter don't matter which is just gonna air as A duty out of context clip it. Anyway yeah so you brought us here to talk so last last time. We're starting about starting movie thing. And last time we did the dead poet's society which is the movie would just extensively about philosophy and so it was really easy to record a to our podcast on the philosophy. We discovered in a little bit about yourself. Why you definitely discovering how much i have to critique in that movie compared to we discovered that we disagree on some things that we gotta figure out. Poets is that it's atten because a poet. Seven hundred ten terrible kid at move out of kilter because he can't be in the blade with al movie but now you've brought us to rocky two. Rocky balboa a movie that is host fifty years old yes g. was forty five years old and it kind of shows. Oh yeah does it a little bit aged pretty well it aged in my minded aged poorly really because of the first act so awkward but everything about everything about the actual movie movie in and of itself aged. Really well to me. It looks like one of those movies that set in the seventies but like it doesn't matter that it was made like right on. There's any there's nothing in the movie that made me say. Oh this was definitely made in the seventies and belongs in the seventy just set in the seventies because it was made the seventies but like to me like if someone had told me this movie was made like twenty years ago and set in the seventies. I'd be like. I can see this movie being made now like that. Yeah i think terms of that at age pretty well. I thought so. Yeah so this was the first time i've ever seen this movie. This is the fourth time. I've ever seen this movie. Third time was so that's right. That's right so i'm watched movie five times. Excellent in the fourth time was the last time the fifth time was this evening it was on amazon prime growing. We're going to culture ourselves. We're gonna want iraqi. "What do you desire in an alliance partner. Findlay interesting question because i see a line so leading and loyalty is really fleeting in the show. I'm not throw alliance. I'm not anti-alliance. I think i'm just gonna feel it out. There's a lot about voting lots and trust clusters as somebody wants to put it. But i think. Ideally i find that one person who i truly trust. Put it quite bluntly but who other people don't think i really trust somebody who's like it's a more inherent sense of trust. That doesn't need to be talked about so people don't know that we're like rebels. How the nfl best. Best friends for life or for lice. If there's more bugs out there. Oh my god. Besides the yeah. Sydney is not anti-alliance but she's not pro alliance either. That's not a great answer. I feel like red flash especially if that comes up in the game like It's one thing like in the pre-game press like i will allow it but you know if somebody asked me if you want to be in an alliance and she says that answer. Yeah that's that's a big side. That's that's the cardinal rule in survivor right. Like usually when someone approaches you for an alliance you say yes if someone approaches you and you're like i don't really believe in alliances they're like that's weird on so many levels but now i don't wanna work with you if i do wonder if ironically enough if sydney might slow played this a bit too much ironically enough so playing by feeling like the game is too fast. It seems like the reasoning. Why she saying she's not necessarily pro alliance because she feels like alliances are so fleeting. There's trust clusters. There's floating voting blocks. That doesn't really happen in the early game. People usually find like ironclad ways to stick together. Usually unless you have a disaster tribe. I think if sydney's coming in with this mindset that might put her in a surprising amount of danger early on if she's not necessarily into this idea of joining up a numbers quickly instead saying let's just feel it out maybe find my group but not really need to worry about where the numbers are going. And i think it's also you know sort of like a great in concept. okay. I'm gonna find somebody who nobody thinks i'm going to work with. I'm gonna work with that person. I'm going to have the most trust that person even though people think i'm not gonna have trust with this person but very hard to of execute on that in practice especially when you say loyalty is fleeting as well like not just alliances if she feels like yeah. I'm going to make an alliance with one person. But then if i need to do away with them i it's very loosey-goosey way of taking on the game which look has worked for some people i would not say it's a winning mindset so again i'm not gonna say she's dead to rights but this was definitely something that perked up my ears when i heard it in the interview. Okay let's go back to sydney you leave your mark on the game. I leave my mark on the game by that's interesting. I probably my mark on the game by being a fun to be around camp that like non would have we don't But god forbid i do the air just completely change like it's just not the without sydney it's gonna be like someone passed away the energies empty without me being there and i think that's a lot to my analogy. Hey yeah boy that would be very dark if it would be almost if somebody died when sydney goes home and he's going to be the capi of this season let me told Speaking speaking of i guess not not funeral stuff but in terms of like shrines. What celebrity are fictional character. Would you want to come out for a loved ones visit and she said rocky balboa or james bond there her idols in life i used to. I used to have rocky and james bond shrines in my room. I guess i don't know. I would assume pierce brosnan right. She's like thirty something. Imagine that's that's exactly. That's the bomb that she's making. They're my inspiration. They're unbeatable what. I love about rocky. Is that even when he is beaten. He's still the best. I'm just like rocky. I talk a big game and let's just say it doesn't happen then. What i'm still breathing. I still talk a big game and the next time. Maybe it will happen. Or maybe it won't happen and as we're about to find out rob rocky. Really is living rent-free in her head guys you segment. Rocky balboa iraqi from survivor fiji. well it's interesting you know. I don't know how she feels about. People named anthony in her life. I'm not sure if she knows what non-north orthogonal or a skin might mean. So maybe anything about who's the best kicker exactly what. She was talking about from season. Nineteen maybe season. Fourteen was a part of that is wall. She's really into the teen seasons of survivor Okay all right. Let's go back to sydney what theme either from previous season or one you can create. Are you hoping or expecting your season to be. "I juice carrots. Looks like they're saying that, but you have to be able to match that. Exactly. It's definitely an acquired skill and you have to practice. And you'll notice that there's usually, you know, less than fifty, people worldwide that are able to do that and that are frequently called on to do that in the different countries. How interesting? I mean, I think of Godzilla movies It's just, you know, we, we didn't ask you this question. Least, not yet. And you do have a theatrical background, Kia. Tell us a little bit about Thursday. Oh, sure, it started in the first thing I did is part of a class project in the seventh grade was actually reading a radio play where there was three of us on stage and very experimental, but that's where I kind of got the bug. But in school I was never necessarily known for having a, a, you know, a voice that would go more. People said you would be greeted on radio, but I had a really good singing voice. Okay. So they would have me audition for a musical theater and I, I got parts and them from there. They were, like, Gary, you're messing around too much, and you're doing all these different characters. Maybe you should do more character parts. And that's where it kind of went down to where I, I was kind of in many different Russian character voices. Oh see? Yeah, Yankees I was just about it. I was getting ready Pig. Ask you to do your favorite character interpretation of your favorite character voice? Well, one that you created, let's say with your Unique Style, one that I created well unable to earlier, and I used to be a trucker and well, you know, lost my truck. Now, I'm just an arm off and it makes me feel so sad. There you go. You know, one, can I actually knew that Earl wage? That's a, that's a fun one, really good. When do you have a second favorite? Oh, I don't mean to push your spotter. No, no, that's that's fine. One thing you'll never hear the character Rocky. Say the Adrian I never asked you to stop being a man. So don't ask me to stop being a woman. Can I borrow your page? Dress. Good, Ole rocky, rocky. That's funny. You said that I immediately thought of Rocky and Bullwinkle, I forgot all about Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa. Exactly. Oh yeah, you're thinking of Rocky. Oh no not again. There you go. That's the guy. I love wage. I always like that from an artist's perspective because Bullwinkle I said, I just paid what I see and Rocky says what do you pay? Because this is what I see. Yeah. That was a very abstract extra. Yes. That's what caused by her early training to become an abstract. Darn it works. Okay, so Gary how many different voice dialects have you been able to achieve? And how long did it take you to get to where you were satisfied with the outcome? Gosh, dozens of them but she was an early age. I always really liked to listen to, when I would travel with my parents to other parts of the country and I would walk in and try to mimic other voices to impress, my friends, but it wasn't until I really had the skills. Sharpened with receiving training from Bud Barth, it's our media arts and he's a master at that. So he's actually brought me along way and, you know, trying to get the New York accent and how it's different from the Boston accent home and learning the different regions, right? It is different, isn't it? And it's like, sometimes, like, you just did with your, your, your to Accents? Well, I was going to say wage were ready for another one of your characters. But this one was a little more conservative and that would be the like a TV commercial. A voice-over or a voice actor wage For a TV commercial for a pharmaceutical product. I actually did recently did an audition for one so this is kind of interesting. What you welcome to bed is your business. So if you're sleeping in your contact lenses, ask your eye doctor about Air Optix Night & Day Aqua contact lenses. They're FDA approved for up to 30 days and nights of continuous where and are the most breathable. Soft contact lenses available. Air Optix Night & Day Aqua contact lenses, it's bedtime is your time. Wow. Oh, oh, do you have their 800 number? I need some. I'm so I'm sold the person. That's a really good at boy. What a contrast between that and say, like, a cartoon character or even Rocky. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Is there a technique that you use? Consistently e? To create a voice style. Sure. Especially when you're it's if it's for a commercial because I read the script and then the first question asked is use your imagination and think, okay, who am I right person doing the talking, and then I ask, who am I talking to? Because it should sound like, I'm speaking to one person that person who might be buying the product and the final part of the equation, is to imagine where this conversation is taking place. Like, you might be sitting speak to someone that you're sitting next to on a train and they asked you about wearing contact lenses at night. And so, you just talked to them a conversation, a one-on-one conversation. Very conversational, very well good. Well, you obviously have a knack for creating different voices and and so far what we've heard is pretty amazing, especially, you know off Those terms with people don't typically think about think about them. No not really in your narration. What's the U kind of explain this but there's a big difference between them for a book and narrating for a commercial. How do you handle making that shift from One Voice or one character into a more conservative or another voicemail character or even narrating at home? Oh yeah. I'm like you were you were referring to earlier? Well, thank you part of it. When it comes to a commercial read or theatrical read part of it comes naturally. My dad wasn't home in high-school. Both of them are sisters, were entertainers. So it's in the blood and it was just something where, you know, there's kind of no other option for me, but when it comes to not getting a book that's when you rely on the author who will give you some even if they don't you know have a lot of back and forth with you, you read the book and you have Clues wage. And the text of the book, this was especially true with the audiobook. I recorded the three lives of David Kelly which was brilliantly written by c m Curtis that you had on your podcast before I I loved that book. Yes. Absolutely. There was just so much character development that I was able to pull from that.

Yes, same kind of conversation happening in the Senate hearings today, Senator Lindsey Graham and questioning Dr Anthony Fauci. Focusing on wanting to know about China's involvement. If this were in fact, they Preacher protocols and China. If it did come out of a lab, that would be a first for the world. Is that right? Believe so. There was a situation with an influenza where there was a suspicion that it might have escaped from the laboratory and Russia but that has never been validated or or confirmed now, Dr Fauci said, the W H o investigation of China was admittedly inadequate for a variety of reasons. "Rush. Talked with sylvester stallone about the movie. Rocky balboa and teaches us life lessons here welcome to the program sylvester stallone rocky balboa. I want to be honest with you. I didn't know what was left to tell the story. I've loved all these other rocky movies. But there's been a long hiatus now. I was stunned. You cover every demographic in this. I mean looking at it from a from a production and marketing point. It looks like the first rocky movie cinema. Graphically you haven't gussied it up with a bunch of computer generated fireworks it. You've got life messages in this movie for everybody. Pg what had happened is a good friend of mine says faludi. Who wrote that book stiffed. Which a couple years ago is about the diminishing and kind of like deluding of the american male in the workforce and after you know this planned obsolescence almost for world war two and every generation. It seems to get harder and harder for a man to express himself and we seem to be slowly being moved on this conveyor belt out before we're ready to be moved out and it was kind of a wanted rocky showed that he still has he says has some stuff in the basement. He has a flame in his heart and i think a lot of the american male feels that way but society goes nassau. You've had your you know you're up at bat and it's time to move on and go. Well maybe you should move on when you're ready to move on if you wouldn't take the humiliation of sticking your head above the crowd maybe it's you know it's pleasure will be worth the pain.

"Michael Parsons would be great. I'd love to see him and the handle of Honolulu Blue. Jeff. I, Freddy. Yeah. I mean, Brad homes, especially in the scouting department for the Rams, huh? He's drafted some amazing defensive guys, especially out of the oven and first round pick and they got like guys like John Johnson, Great safeties and so like, like Ryan was saying, I think I'm gonna go defense. But more importantly it Z Do is Brad and just the general all the front office have a player in mind they like because that's that's important. If you have a player you really like, even if it means moving up. Go get him because this is the year. But if not, like I said, you have the seventh pick Michael Parsons. If he's there, I think our defense is definitely the way to start because We were God awful. I mean, Jared Goff. You're like we can just drop playmakers and say, Let's get it with your golf. Got a state matter? Yeah, This isn't mad, and we can't sign free agent. You know, defensive players, So I mean, let's be honest. We're to rebuild. So, like I said, go after defense. Um, you know, I heard reports of possibly trading down for other picks. I mean, if you can trade down and you have a guy on defense is still there. Why not? But like I said, Lou, go defense and unless you got a guy in mind, but I'm confident brain will figure that out, especially for the defense. I think linebacker is also gonna be a key factor in the off season, not just in the draft in free agency as well because Delights of I and J. R. Davis. They both looked like Rocky Balboa chasing the chicken around in that training montage to disgrace. I mean, both those and Dan Campbell as much as I love the guys intensity. I love Jared Davis. This guy's gonna be legit. Uh, man, we even say that for the last five years, Uh, maybe it's Patricia kind of ruined up. Who knows, But I would let you date this walk. It was up to me after the first five years, Tyler Weaver. Reliance you doing for agency at seven when I have a hot take, Really? Because I don't really I'm not too familiar with any names in the draft. But how about you? Go on, get a running back, established the running game and Nagy Harris, Right. So you could throw that big old bowling ball around the gold gold e don't know about pick number eight, making a running back the same.

And we all you know, be true to your school and all that crap. You know, I went to school not to be, you know, part of Ah West Side story. I went to school because I had to, and I went through it for a period of time. You know it is to me. It's It is fascinating toe to see the pushback on this, Um You know, name of school something so we can get back to the idea of getting kids in school and educations and not, you know, not after historical figures who Let's be honest in many cases did unimaginable harm to thousands of people and you know again by owning them many times, stripping them from their each other's families. Just, you know, I mean, let's be honest. Slavery is possibly Possibly the worst thing you could possibly do to human being short of actually killing them. You separate them from their kids from their wives. Husbands on you. You know, you do mean them in a way that last four generations Generations. You know, men have their wives raped by their White masters, and there's nothing they can do. How do you ever recover from that? The kids grow up and those stories are passed along. I got no problem But it does go to John and Daly City. John, What's up, man? Hey, Dawn, Gullible, High school away from me. Both graduated the same time. The first night we went out. It was graduation night. Next week or two is our 60th wedding anniversary And I played on the first championship football team from the Balboa High School. There is always going to be, uh, There's always going to be a pushback to change and it's terribly old people that don't want it, you know, because they just they why we have to do that. You know, I mean, this is you know, when this we heard this one black and white people wanted to marry. They? This is not done. It's in the Bible. They bring up that right? We heard it when you know the whole idea of gay people, you know, being together or then God forbid they want to marry. Oh, my God, They want to be around Children. It's in the Bible, look to school. The name. It's a person who you probably want to look at more closely. Before you ask everybody to worship. Fair enough. I think they thought they were going to fight each other, but I gave it to them. And I don't really know where went from there. But you know what you can do not to interrupt you while you're fine, but they were They OK with it with the offended by you giving the boxing I think there are more shocked. But I did. I think I don't know They didn't. They couldn't say anything Cause we call the public. They wouldn't talk back because I mean, think about it, right? You know, I've never been out of the Tucson Dragway. I'm not like a cargo like that, but I support you and doing what you want. It's just their main strip. Right? Correct? Yes, the direction to lane straightaway Quarter mile. I mean, you guys could do a tremendous public service, right? You guys could do a tremendous public service by having county supervisors Sharon Bronson. Learn how to drive correctly because I don't know if you know about this. Oh, boy. Two or three years ago, she wrecked a county tax payer front of vehicle She was like, right over here, right in this horrible area Where there's Balboa. He has belt. Rocky Balboa. There's Balboa. So if you go on down Fort Lowell toward Oracle, it was raining hard to monsoon. She turned left on Balboa and then decided turn right into the wash. I don't know why she was never given a drug test. She was never given a drug test or or whatever, you know she was drunk. She literally drove right into a wall of water. So I'm thinking you could make it safer for everybody by having her practice driving back and forth that way. I mean, I think it'll be when he's in slow. We could teach anybody to drive. Yeah, so she couldn't call her share in the driver. She has set women back 50 years at least. Right. She has literally increased the stereotype of women and their their horrible driving right. So you could do I'd like to push for that. Okay. Come on out whenever you want. Come on, don't even ride a bicycle while she drives the car next to her a little bit further away, but You can go on the return road. There's a wall between the two of you. I would love to teach her how to drive. Let me I wouldn't be that dangerous to me that you put a helmet on her just in case, But I want both of you. But you could teach you how to drive. Well, she loved that She would love that. S Oh, yeah. Listen, I'm I'm I feel terrible. This is happening to you. And you're the only business. I mean, they're the there. You see these events outside outdoors. I mean, is there there's a drag way up in Phoenix. There is. Yeah, There's one off. I 10. Correct. Yeah, Walter's best. They're not running right now. They've got one event that's gonna happen from December to January. 1 small event. That's it. Whether any drag ways up in the Phoenix area besides that, no, that's it. So we're the only one of the Tucson area and the Phoenix track is ups and downs. Always so they're on Indian reservations. So their stuff is a little different than our stuff right now. But yeah, this is this is just crazy. Well, I'm sorry You're going through this. What can people do? You know what? Let's call the health department. A lot. I ask What can we do? How? Why? Why are we not doing this? You know, we're not asking for a massive event was street outlaws where they bring in 5 to 10,000. People were asking for local racing. We want to curb street racing. We want to give the street racers somewhere to go. I mean, you see it online all the time Friday night, staring at where they at where they at TBD is following them. Why not give them this place that we have It's county property. It was built in 96 or 97, for this reason to curb street racing. And now it's sitting there doing absolutely nothing and they can't even give you a straight answer. They just said the Rising cove. It tastes correct. Yep. And don't get me wrong. We want every business to survive. We want all of us so that we have watched way too many business in the last year close Because of this. They just Is there any science? Do you have any data that people are getting Cove ID or the China virus? By actually raising their cars. No, no science, e no Not sort of do the math on that. You may have to help me on that one. Yeah, I think it's called zero. I think it's called zero degree that's just and again. People are in the car by themselves, right? Yeah, absolutely. And they can spread out nicely. I'm assuming. Yeah. Yes, we have 200 pit spots there. 20 FT by 90 FT. Every racer has one of those. So most have a truck and trailer that divide the next pit spot. So you're not even And and my racers. "This. This is popcorn where we tell you what's happening at the movies and there's a movie out right now that it's gonna make you can make you cry. It's going to make you laugh and it's called the art of racing in the rain. I mean it starts my guest milo ventimiglia welcome to the show happy to be here. Thank you and what you've done. Montmelo is broken. All the rules that actors are always told never to you. Don't work with animals with kids here you are and there i am happily and you just said i don't care what you say. You know. This is what made you are. You just yourself a major dog on <hes>. I mean for me. This wasn't a role that i was afraid of. It felt like something that i slash we as an audience needed. It's a human story. It's a story about a good father story about a good husband sure about a lovely family that is teaching their dog enzo the life lessons in needs to imprint it so that when he becomes a human in his next life. He'll be ready to be a good person he does want to be. He doesn't want so badly so badly what he wants wants curses himself for being dog and moments when his instinct is giving him insight to what this family is going through but he can't speak it. He can't say he just sit back and let things happen. So you have a dog yourself. No no no even like them. Love dogs okay. You said that i think we'd have to end the bucket out. The door wouldn't even give you the pop. That's maybe one of my way. Also this dog ends named after into dr a sound suspiciously like kevin costner very much so i won't even say might be kevin costner. He was here a couple weeks ago. I'm still hearing would what a what a lovely lovely coast or that. I never got to work with so you're not hearing on the set while you're doing this. What we're hearing in the audience know much like you. You know one is hearing with the dogs actually thinking there's no talking dogs in this. It's it's all the inner monologue of this dog as he's talking to himself telling the story story to himself of this family of this man but yeah no. I didn't hear anything i kind of our script supervisor and our our director simon curtis they would talk amongst themselves they would she would read <hes> enso's dialogue and simon. I'm kind of pause me and okay now. Hold on please and then i'll just be interacting with the dog you know and then he'd say okay and action and then i resume my lines or dialogue log on to where we needed to anything so i wasn't actually here in any kind of voice. Your thoughts are what what are the perils and the joys of working with a dog as the scene partner. You have to basic. I mean one. They're gonna steal the scene from me because i mean they're hand sorry. They're beautiful. They're there there you know you've been called all those things but still yeah they do with their with their with their tongues out in the tail's wagging you haven't tried that one yet avenue but because their animals you know you have to respect that their animals and take time and be patient with what they need to learn what they need to do. Repetitive over and over and over again not distract them feel like people can be distracted but yet we can handle a lot on our plate at any given time animals it was task at hand walked them there to their pick up some popcorn or lay down whatever it is is hold the remote and its mouth so it was a discipline of patients to just make sure that myself trainers were communicating and that i was given the dogs but they needed an intern. Instinctually they gave me what i needed which was a scene partner and that that was what was so special about our two dogs about parker and butler was what they were doing. Instinctually who they were was remarkable but i would also i would talk to the dogs like people like just you know not really full voiced that uncertain moments i'd have to crouch down and whispering to parker's ear hotel what was would say hey. We're gonna do this scene. I'm going to be a little stress but i love you. Kid don't worry we're fine. Don't tell me don't let yourself yourself. Get agitated. Just just stick with me at the end of it. I got a nice chicken. Treat for you yeah well. What made you not a dog owner sanjay. I want to do this movie. It was beautiful human story. You know what i saw. Again was a good man. <hes> living a life that was in many points of it difficult challenges obstacles real life stuff that was just constantly constantly hanging on him and i saw his heart and his determination to get through all that and do it for those that he loved. I loved. I loved the message behind that caring for the people that you really love and that fills you up well who can argue with that it also who oh can't relate to that. That's the thing that i also loved about. This felt like an extension of my t._v. Show this is us felt like something that everybody can draw raw from. Everybody can connect danny. Everybody can connect to eve everyone can connect to to <hes> enso's point of view. It just felt very relative. Tive who had you played that we can connected to who was the rat bastard in your career played a couple aw played one <hes> in a movie called wildcard. Jason statham the son of a mob boss who got away with the worst behavior. <hes> <hes> played <hes> the villain at the end of the second season of gotham t._v. Show he was a <hes>. He was a killer <hes> and play some pretty dark guys. Is that enjoyable to you too. I think everyone that i play short of that. That movie wildcard enjoyed that guy. I just really didn't like i didn't like putting on the character just didn't like any of it but for me it's they're all different sizes of humanity and i always feel like there's something to learn and and something to display people whether you're inspired to be good or showcasing that we really can't be this inhumane well sometimes by showing showing that in humanity you're you're also revealing something about sure us in the audience about what we don't wanna be exactly which is a good thing to it's one of the great things about being an actor does is that you can have that yeah and speaking about good at what you do. Congratulations third emmy nominations to the <hes>. This is us and season four coming in yeah. I'm already two episodes in just tell us what happened in the first to the next sixteen all of them yeah oh man should know so. Can you actually tell us how thing no i mean. I could say it's going to be great. I know really right in line with everything that this is us has done from seasons one to two to three the formula hasn't changed <hes> <hes> the pearson family feels like we're getting even deeper and deeper and deeper into who this family is who these people are as individuals in it you you know <hes> it's really just it's a joy to work on. I've had i've had a really amazing couple years going from that. Show this film and yeah. I'm <hes> i'm really lucky. It's fascinating to me because i remember also seeing you in rocky balboa woah yeah we're still alone is your father and that he has those speeches where he's basically you. You know talking about fatherhood what it is doing but then win season to this is oh yes like came. Flight comes on doing a scene with kevin yeah in a movie that he's doing talking about you. Who's gon who's his sons but also his his is his <hes>. He was his <hes> his hero. Yeah i mean i what i have had the first conversation with sly about joining the show and i pretty much told must i explained his part of it. You know inspiring a younger actor and his how he was my character. Jack's biggest onscreen hero and i basically told him i said all of that couldn't be closer to the truth as a younger actor i note it was like to be on set with you and dan to to just watch listen and learn what he was up to and what he was able to accomplish and i applied that to my everyday working process as an actor but then also from the character's point of view like he was my onscreen here on mike well yes lie was my onscreen hero to you know so. I don't know maybe a lot of flattery got him but also i mean you know his involvement with our writers and writing collect like coming together to share his his voice and what he wanted to tell of being playing himself. I don't know that he's ever played himself in the show but it was yeah you got a good day. You had a good time. He told me he goes a really good day so really good data good data. Yeah well the the two of you have. There's some similarities. People people think that i'm actually his son. Yeah yeah sure just go yet to do it well. You always say that you have this crooked matt do so where does that come from. Just i was born that way. I don't know where it comes from or what what got broken on the way way out but <hes> but it's definitely crooked i used to i used to talk out of the side of my face like this audience and i really didn't realize it until i was thinking might have been a teenager and i saw a local news channel interview or something and i was really struck by how crooked my mouth was when i spoke and so i remember sitting down in front of a mirror and reading reading and trying to catch what words made my mouth very very crooked and in doing that i figured out how i could kind of level it out a a little bit and it gave me kind of lazy speech pattern so now people don't quite know where <hes> from because of my lazy speech pattern because i'm trying to correct my crooked mouth but i don't know it works it is it's all kind of working. I think so i mean but did did it. Intimidate you when you were starting out doing. I said you have like moments. Have how am i gonna do this audition. <hes> where people cruel as people in hollywood can be yeah i had a i was in a castle one time how to cash or say hey could you. You just stopped doing that thing. You're doing with your mouth because you're doing a thing with your mouth and i go. You know what i was born that way and i just stared at all. I'm sorry i'm like no you're not and then i did the thing and i didn't get the part but it was like that was me that was me. I feared playing a vampire because you know vampires when they play vampires like they open their mouth. The big thing was going to go to the side and i thought seles or if i was like you know now. I've some wearing a masters. There's like there's a dead giveaway.

Here's how 'Creed II' is a direct sequel to 'Rocky IV'

"Yeah. This is another sequel creed which was a reboot of the rocky franchise came out a few years back with Michael Jordan as the young fighter being trained by rocky Balboa. It was quite good. It was surprisingly good really well directed. The fight action was well stage. Michael Jordan was charismatic in the lead role. This picture doesn't work nearly as well. Instead of rethinking the formulas. The rocky franchise it really just repeats them creed in this case has to fight the son of the Russian ragle dolts Lundgren who had killed freeze father Apollo creed. And whom then rocky beat up in the big final climactic battle of rocky four. And basically this movie is pretty much a repeat of rocky four for a new generation. It's decently done, and Michael beach. Jordan as usual is quite good and Stallone is they're doing his shucks routine as as the elderly rocky again. Film doesn't bring anything new to the table. It just as I say is repetitive. It's interesting to see Dolf Lundgren back as the father of the new Russian fighter. He played. Of course, stray go in the original rocky four, and he still looks pretty good. And he's certainly

'Creed II' is a direct sequel to 'Rocky IV'

"Director Steven cable junior to talk about the sequel to Ryan Koukoulas twenty fifteen installment in the rocky franchise creed to is about Donna's creed. Now a championship boxer and his mental rocky Balboa, but it's also about Rockies nemesis from rocky four Ivan Drago and Ivan son, Victor, it's a movie about fathers and sons legacy. And what happens when you're no longer the underdog. I talked to cable junior about what he learned from Sylvester Stallone how to rebuild the drug with storyline and making his own way in a complicated. Franchise. Your Stephen cable junior. I'm joined today by Stephen capable junior. Steven thanks for coming in. Thanks for having me, man. Stephen you directed creed to how did this happen for you a question. No, we I was writing my own script in. I was working on TV show called Greenwich. When I got the call. You know, what I mean, I I did not have greed to went on on a slate or anything like that it just kind of came out of nowhere. And how it happened was a guest MGM has saw my feature film the land in Ryan coup has suggested that a look into because he was don't buy Panthera time and got a call. These guys are spotted sly has oughta peace Michael Jordan has everybody felt comfortable and good about it and didn't necessarily have to pitch myself interesting. So you don't have to come in and say, here's my vigil. I definitely did say here's a vision. I have because I got the script Innis from sly in sly had wrote a draft that had a basic foundation of everything, but he felt like. He wanted to dive deeper into Donald his life, and he wanted to Tesla's, and then we're still playing with the draw goes. And so when I got the script it was like, our has some ideas, you know, when I pitched it to them, they're like while the these work, and it's the stuff that you'll see a lot in a film when I'll spoiling it because I don't know when this comes out doors, we won't be so. Yeah. But so tell me a little bit about your relationship to the rocky franchise where you were you all in as a kid, or is it something that was sort of new to get started doing? No, not at all. I don't know who has not seen entire rocky franchises. Like once in a while here. Somebody says they haven't and I'm might complete shock like you haven't seen rocky. What I was a kid as a kid. I I guess I'm considering young. But I saw the first one I saw was rocky five. Oh, wow. That was the first one thousand first one I saw that's not a great place to start. Everyone keeps the today. Right. Everybody keeps saying that in. And again, I I understand why I guess as a filmmaker. And you know, being who I am now where I'm at. But when you're like six years old watching like rocky five and you see Tommy gun in boxing and people industries. That thing was cool. I mean, it was just cool to me then when I went back backwards. So now start to go to first one then second now that stuff and then when I did I played sports. I was basketball player. So obviously sex is huge sports connection growing up. So throwing my teenage years. It was just about like motivation. I love to underdog story, but around seventeen eighteen, you know, nineteen starting to go to college starting to look into film taken more seriously. That's when I started appreciate a four. What it is. Are you thought sly and what they rocky one which is my favorite one was fascinating man thought it was bowl. They try some really cool things in there. And I was like, wow, you know, a flawed character. Who's not like put here pushback super suave? He stuttering he's doing this. He felt human, you know, and I'm like, oh, that's why I felt so connected to this character, you know. So I thought that was really cool you had this unusual burden with this movie where you have the legacy of the rocky franchise, and then you also have the burden of creed.

'Creed II': Michael B. Jordan risks it all for Creed-Drago Round 2 in new trailer

"Were just watching Brian. The creed will not the trailer, but they have this sort of side by side because it's a, it's it's creed, son, yes. Donna's Adana fighting play by Michael Jordan Geragos leave. His name is Victor Drago played by Michael Jordan right that that would be a hell of an acting feet. The plot is I understand it from the creed to trailer, which I think was released today is that a donnas creed, the son of a Pollock creed will be fighting and trained by naturally rocky Balboa fighting Victor Drago the son of the site under on Drago who killed in what was supposed to be exhibition match. Just an exhibition, right? Apollo because rocky did not tell. Well. Did you turns out and you're right, Andy, the trailer did just come out today. So when have in right. I. They have is top and bottom sort of side by side comparison of rocky in a moment, staring down Drago in the new movie and rocky staring down Drago in the old movie and rocky four, which was eighty six. I think it's eighty six and and I was just remarking how dolph Lundgren kind of looks pretty good and looks like he's had less worked on than than rocky who. And if you look at the clip from rocky four still on it already started getting work done. I face the face. Rocky four is not the face that he hasn't raw just standard of looking like you've had less work than Stallone like that's not a high Bartik visible. Basically in less your Mickey Rourke, you're gonna pass. I'm just saying, doll flyer looks pretty
